Visited for the first time. Lovely gardens. Lots of open space with seating. Toilets were open, would describe as "ok" but not spectacular. Disabled toilet did not need a Radar key at time of visiting. Car park right next to gardens with both cash and mobile payments available. Only a two minute walk from the shops which is a good escape from the beach.

Nice well kept little park, volunteers are really looking after the place, nice to see a park with toilets but they really did stink, other than that it's a nice quiet place to sit and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, the cafe serves some nice breakfast to and cheaper than the other places to eat around town

Supposed to be no dogs but frequently inconsiderate folk bringing them in and nothing done to stop them. So be careful where you sit on grass.

Beautiful gardens in Minehead, a bit like a hidden secret! Very well maintained and peaceful. One of the reasons being - no dogs allowed. So you can walk round in a relaxed atmosphere not having to worry that you may step in 'something'! The plants and trees are varied, and very healthy looking. Clean too,(no litter)

Well kept medium sized park in West Minehead, regrettably no cafe but in Covid times not unexpected. It does have a bandstand, public toilets and a small covered seating area.It has many benches colourful flowerbeds and well developed trees,some of which would not be out of place in a sunnier climate. Good place to pass a quiet hour to contrast the hustle and bustle of Butlins in the other part of town should you need it.

What a total gem. We are visiting family for the week and came to Minehead Eye for the first time with our two children for the Nerf Fun session. Our eldest has additional needs and is usually against trying new things so I was nervous when he said he wanted a go. I spoke with the team- Simon and Izzy before the session and they were so accommodating and understanding. They made time to answer all his questions and made sure I could stay for the session to support my son if needed. They were so supportive to my son throughout the session and so knowledgable of autism and potential issues we may come up against with the rules etc. They helped him find the right gun, he has dyspraxia so many guns are hard for him to use, Simon checked in with us both throughout and my son was able to join in and loved every minute of the session. My son finds things like this so hard to access normally so this was such a wonderful moment for him and for our family. Where we live we don’t have such a centre, only leisure centres where most staff have no knowledge of SEN or how to support or connect with kids like my son. I can’t stress enough what a great service this is. I hope minehead knows how lucky it is! A truly inclusive youth activity centre is a rare thing indeed. Thanks so much, we’ll be back next time we’re in town!

Visited today with my son as we are on holiday and his had an amazing time and hasn’t stopped skating for the whole 2 hrs. The staff are friendly and on the ball with the safety of the children. My son’s helmet wasn’t on correctly (I didn’t notice) and staff corrected it and then gave him a bigger helmet. I will defo b back if I ever come to minehead again. Thank you

This amazing place is rapidly becoming the ‘go to’ venue for us. From the Diddy Dudes scooter academy, which gave our four year old the confidence to use the ramps on a scooter, the climbing walls and the numerous activities that the wonderful staff put on there is always something to do for active little (and not so little) people, and of course there is the cafe which is an ideal refuelling stop. With special thanks to Albert who has gained hero status!

The amazing Minehead Eye team takes care of running the activities and providing the food and drinks, so parents have it super easy! Lovely long beach path that goes from just before Butlin’s all the way past the bottom of the high street, through the harbour and on towards the park. Brilliant for the wheelchairs too as it’s a flat wide path lots of benches to sit and enjoy the marvellous views. The only issue is the public toilets. They are only located at either side of the town, near the harbour or near Billy Butlins. Non in the main town centre beach area and car park which is very disappointing.

Beautiful beach on a stunning coastline and sandy next to Butlins and the walk from beach to the harbour on coastal path was amazing with all the scenery ice cream parlour and fish and chips on seafront visited today and was high tide plenty of room for everyone and not too busy the sun was shining paddled twice and sea water was lovley and clean you can even see over to South Wales in the distance it's the best beach in Somerset

Brilliant sand and stone beach with shops and shacks located all along the beach. All the classic beach foods within stone throw distance. Nice ramp disabled entrance in the centre of the beach path. Brilliant high street if you like your shopping. Good for making memories. Lots of cool art dotted around the area great for kids.

What a great place. Very well kept. Fantastic gardens all around the castle and down to the Watermill. The gardens down to the mill are fantastic for children. If you are going to see Dunster properly, it will take a good 4 hours. Great Cafe at the Mill as well, which is all in working order.

Such a lovely village, and the structure itself is breathtaking. It's been renovated several times over the years so it's more of a modern old-school mansion as opposed to an old castle (husband is more interested in Norman castles), but it was still really cool to walk around and the views were absolutely amazing. Historically amazing place, the castle was very interesting and well looked after. We enjoyed learning about it's history.

The village surrounding the castle is beautiful, and lovely to walk through on the way to the castle including the secret garden ran by the castle gardener. Just be aware there are some rather steep slopes to walk up. There are a few cafes that do cream tea outside the castle and also museums and shops. Once actually in the castle grounds there are also lots of slopes to walk up and down to access different areas. There is lots of information about the castle and how it came to be what it is today and also some original features. The views from the castle are wonderful and can see for miles. There is parking for the castle and also other parking nearby if needed. There is a watermill that is still operating which they use to make flour, you can also buy this in the shop as well as other local produce.

Dunster Castle is magical and so incredibly beautiful. We visited it on a beautiful summer day, the kids loved the outdoor games and the bat trail activity. The castle inside is very well cared for and the gardens are a dream to explore.

This is a lovely spot on a summer's evening after a walk along the seafront with its 18 C cottages. The harbour is relatively small and is surrounded by a seawall where there are usually people fishing. There is a great little pub; "The Old Ship Aground", a cafe and a seaman's chapel.

We were staying nearby at Doniford and spent a day in Minehead. Parked along the seafront and walked up to the harbour which was very peaceful. Nice coffee from the little hut. We went back the following evening to try our luck at crabbing.

What a gem of a course. Course layout would be handy on the scorecard as I left the clubhouse without taking a picture of it and got lost on a few holes lol. Booked the earliest 7.10hrs tee on a clear but windy morning on 16th September 2025 in order to avoid embarrassment as I had not played links golf for many years.
With wind assistance I drove the first shirt par 4 green and got my birdie.
I was dreading the back 9 which was mainly against the wind.
On hole 4 I was invited by two members to join them, and was grateful for their guidance on where to place the shot.
The course itself was immaculate on both the fairways and greens.
Some tricky putts and small greens.
For the price I would highly recommend this wonderful gem.
The pro shop was closed on my arrival and when I finished, but booking a tee was simple. Starting early meant that I didn't see any other golfers until the turn.

Quite a confined course, size-wise and not somewhere a right-handed slicer would enjoy playing regularly as there is OOBs on the right on nearly every hole😱 The course is relatively short as a par 72 with a few drivable par 4 holes (under 300yds) but having said that it’s not easy due to the OOBs, many deep bunkers and it being a links course and often protected by the weather which has been very warm and dry recently. The tees are a little sparse of grass, the fairways are currently playing very hard with lots of run but the greens are putting decently, for speed and smoothness and taking a ball from a short club. All in all, the course is a decent test but could do with a drinks cart or water fountain around the turn. The guy in the pro shop was friendly and the staff in the clubhouse were very helpful and
friendly and we had a decent steak & ale pie in the e ending and a full English the following morning.

Was a nice train ride but we left 30mins late, only have 20mins in Minehead so could not leave the station, and got back 30mins later than expected as well. A big thank you to the Channel Adventure team, from the office team that helped us organise and co-ordinate Rob Viners stag do! Ella and Maddie were brilliant in arranging accommodation and then sorting out alternative arrangements when the campsite let them down!
The team even put up and took down our bell tents, which were good quality and in good condition. The campsite was great and really well located! It was quite a joy to not have to worry about taking down the tents on the day we left!
Ben and Tom were both very helpful and friendly during the activities. Ben led and explained things clearly and simply, which was helpful for some of the slightly fuzzy heads that we had on Saturday morning. Both Ben and Tom ensured that the activities were kept fun and relaxed, whilst that we were safe at all times!
The Arrows, Axes and Ale was great fun and something new that most of us had not done before, but fully enjoyed!
The SUP 'n' Scrumpy / Boats, Boards 'n' Beers was great fun! Everyone had a really enjoyable time in the water and the giant SUP was an absolute laugh!

Really disappointed. 7 friends and I had booked to take out paddle boards on a Saturday at the start of July (peak season) but when we arrived at the centre the whole place was shut despite the website saying it was open and a sign on the door saying it was open (when it definitely wasn’t because the doors were locked and lights turned off). We hung around for 4 hours waiting for someone to turn up and tried phoning the centre a few times but no one answered. Eventually we gave up. I’ve since tried calling the centre a few times to get to the bottom of what was going on but still no answer despite the website saying they are open. Really sad as I travelled for 2 hours to visit channel adventure to do paddle boarding with 7 of my friends. A huge disappointment.

I stayed here with my nan recently, we went for days out independently as opposed to joining walking groups. Despite not joining them, we were made to feel part of the team and joined in with the evening entertainment and sat socially at dinner. I wasn't sure about this at first however I soon got to know each individual and we spent the week telling each other about our days out. The accomodation was small and cosy, great shower and comfy beds. All the staff were highly accomodating and friendly making effort to ensure everyone has a great time despite the usual issues of being short staffed, you wouldn't have noticed. The food was delicious, of wedding qaulity and the kitchen staff were punctual so no one is left waiting. This was a great experience and as a 27yr old I'd encourage more young people to go as you'll have a great time!

Good place for HF holidays with lovely walks in Exmoor. Breakfast, packed lunch and dinners are included, also a choice of guided walks. Everyone is friendly and easy to get on with.

We are National Trust members and are visiting various sites in the Exmoor area. The Holnicote estate is huge so we picked a couple of places within. Horner has a great woodland walk, good for dogs, the Tea Garden there is privately run, their coffee is packets you add water to ugh! Food average. On to Bossington, quaint cottages, tea garden with proper coffee and great scones. Local beach consists of massive pebbles piled up into a rampart worth a look but don't expect a beach.

I must admit I was disappointed in this. The areas included in the Holnicote estate are beautiful for hiking but the house and park itself, although lovely, does not offer much and we turned back to some of the hiking tracks and towns around after a short visit.

Nice views, adequate parking near the trig pointed summit. There are a variety of easy popular walking routes in the area. Not the grandest mountain views but very pleasant and it is a UK designated Marilyn. The latter has a prominence of 150m.

Fantastic walk with amazing views, lots of routes to choose, we parked at the church in Selworthy then took the 6.9k circular route. Make sure to wear suitable walking shoes as the terrain is varied, particularly ones you won’t mind getting a little wet/muddy.
