Beautiful plaice fillets, deep fried for the right amount of time (light and moist, not firm and dry like most places manage) with a really superb crisp, light batter. The cod was great too, very fresh, and the crevette salad my mum had was first class she reckoned. The chef very kindly made us deep fried gherkins, something they had ten years ago, and they were excellent - he even brought them to us himself. I'll admit im very samey and stick to the one or two different orders, so i cant comment on ALL the food, but most of the time what i get from here is always just absolute greatness. my only complaint is that sometimes the satay sauce ive gotten in a pot was a little too drippy for my liking, or the chicken from the chicken curry tasted very chickeny if that makes sense, which if you're also like me, tastes bad. most of the time this doesn't happen though. It'd be roughly 2/40 or so out of our orders per year. my order is about 16 quid, but i'm a fatass if you couldn't tell so i'm sure it's a few quid cheaper for others. portion sizes are great for what I get, and sometimes i'm left having to eat the rest later. overall, it's a 9.5/10 chinese. It's pretty worth it. also, someone complained in another review that the chicken balls have softer batter inside compared to the crispier outside. dude, that is the best part lol.
