These are a sort of darker brown crumbed potato cake with added flavour, possibly curry powder. By no means bad but absolutely not how we imagine a potato fritter. Although we ordered for a particular time over the phone, there was a 15-minute wait when we arrived to pick it up, and we suspect they didn’t cook the food until then. It was Saturday of Matariki weekend and I’m sure they were extra busy but we were not thrilled.

Once I received them and took to our holiday home,they smelt just like English fish n chips. Our family enjoyed the hoki fish and their version of batter. Chips were massive and not covered in oil like the UK. Im going to miss new Zealand!
