The Beijing National Aquatics Center, also known as the Water Cube, is a modern structure that was built for the 2008 Olympics. Its unique cube-shaped design, inspired by soap bubbles, garnered global attention. The building's playful appearance serves practical purposes as well; its sustainable design and energy-conserving materials reflect careful planning. Today, the center has been repurposed into a water park while still maintaining its Olympic training pool for serious swimmers.
Tourist tip: better to visit at night, you can enjoy the lighting of the stadium. Take the metro line 8 and get off at Olympic Park, from there you can walk towards the Olympics Sport Center metro station. The bird nest and the water cube are in your way.. There's no need for a ticket to wander around the park, but for entering it (you can buy it there). In front of the water cube there are some food stalls.
Alvaro L — Google review
The Water Cube or the National Aquatics Centre is a swimming centre in Beijing and is another engineering marvel. It was constructed to host the aquatics competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics and was later used for 2022 Winter Olympics. Due to its design, it is an energy efficient building and has a capacity of 17,000. Here again as Senior Citizens, we were allowed to enter free and we are very thankful for showing us your respect. A must visit spot in Beijing.
Rajeshwar M — Google review
The design is in simple cube shape but really amazing. By the way this aquatic is standing next to the Bird Nest International Stadium. All you can find the ticket at the entrance where they put the speaker out loud for visiter who looking for ticket to get in the Ice Cube Aquatic and Bird Nest International Stadium.
King L — Google review
My husband and daughter thoroughly enjoyed their day out here. The only disappointment from my daughter’s side was that she wasn’t heavy enough for one of the big slides. But there was plenty to distract her from that. Good to know if you’re visiting as a foreigner: make sure you have a reliable local payment method for the lockers.
Flo A — Google review
Fun modern light show to visit at night from the outside, the pool passes are slightly expensive and there are better places to swim. It shares a large sprawling outside square with the Bird's Nest stadium, and in the evening you'll find a lot of people out for a leisure stroll, flying kites, or just hanging out.
Tony G — Google review
Strolled by at night but didn't go in. As a travel photographer, I wanted to take photos of it lighted up but there were too many pop up stalls next to it and half was cordoned off. Had a hard time getting a didi taxi from there
Andrew C — Google review
this is definitely not what you would expect when visiting beijing olympic aquatics arena center…! There is a huge water park?! I watched from the ginormous window above as the swimmers were in the wave pool watching a furry dance performance. The actual swimming pool arena is not as big as I imagined. However it was cool to have visited and say I’ve been here before. I will say, it was very clean, air conditioned, and no crowd. Also, tickets to enter were really cheap which is great.
郝蕊蕊 — Google review
Beautiful both inside and outside. Especially at the night when the light lit up. Inside, we can see the aquatic stadium use for 2008 Olympic games. At that time when i visit, i saw some children practicing very hard under the supervision of the coach. No wonder China won so many medal at 2008.

Peking Youth Hostel is a casual accommodation option offering simple dorms and private rooms. It is located on Nanluoguxiang, just 3 minutes away from the MTR, making it an ideal location for travelers. The hostel features a restaurant and bar with a garden terrace, providing a pleasant and warm atmosphere with beautiful flowers and plants throughout. Guests can enjoy quiet and clean rooms equipped with locks for security. The hostel also has a lovely rooftop offering great views.
Outstanding staff and location for the price. The dorm was a little tight with a low-hanging ceiling. Met some awesome people here!

The truth is that I was regretting having chosen this place to rest and take a shower before leaving for the airport... I practically didn't sleep because of the heat... apart from that the bathroom was very dirty! A good thing is that it has a shopping street just outside the hotel... but I didn't like the room I got at all! If I had known I would have slept at the airport and not left my money in this place! The staff that serves you friendly, but the rest I had no luck!
Kaizen S — Google review
Wonderful location in a historic area, close to a stop on Beijing's fantastic metro system, and walking distance to many popular sites. Staff are helpful and speak English. Hostel rooms are clean and bright. A bit challenging at night and in the morning with only one sink for an entire floor, but this is a small inconvenience. Would highly recommend this for a stay in Beijing. Attached restaurant cafe is lovely, a bit on the expensive side though.
Jessica D — Google review
Location is perfect. However our bathroom was COVERED in mold. The smell was unbearable and disgusting.
Valérie S — Google review
The location of this place is so amazing! The room was clean and had everything you would need. Totally recommend!
Julia C — Google review
Great value for money. The common rooms are more than bearable and common toilets are clean and fully working. Also at walking distance from Nanluoguxiang subway station. The cafeteria features Italian-styled espresso and cappuccino, if you need some Western comfort after whole a day out in Beijing. Expect bad to no English spoken at the reception desk.
Fabio B — Google review
Such a lovely Hostel!!! Best hostel I have ever been to to be honest!! Such a pleasant and warm atmosphere with all those pretty flowers and plants all over! The location is ideal, on Nanluoguxiang, 3 min away from the MTR. The rooms are extremely quiet and clean and they give us a lock. The hostel has a wonderful cafe / restaurant / bars where the pasta and the cocktails are just sooo gooood! And a lovely rooftop with a very nice view! The staf also is so helpful and kind! I warmly recommend!!

Take Taxi from airport cost RMB93, the hostel located inside walking street, taxi or car not allowed to go in, have to walk inside but just around 300 meter distance. When arrive around 2am, the street is empty and the hostel door lock and i need to call the phone and ask reception open the door for me. The room quite nice and clean. i booked a room with bathroom.Everything is good. The hostel hv a very good location, near MRT and the walking street just outside the hotel. Highly recommended.

Hostel
Leo Hostel is a laid-back accommodation option that offers both dormitory and private rooms. Situated in a vibrant area, it attracts travelers from around the globe and features a lively bar, cozy lounge, and a cafe. The hostel has been renovated from an old hutong into a stylish space that combines boutique design with traditional Chinese courtyard elements. Guests can enjoy the surrounding restaurants offering delicious Chinese cuisine.
The choice of the traveler on a shoe string. With all it's benefits and drawbacks: It is friggin' affordable without being "cheap" or dirty. It is a sweet house, where you can find your place to chill quietly. The dorms can be darkened, so you can cure your jet lag. Staff is friendly and helpful, but sometimes have their hands full due to demand. It is well situated in a very touristy area. Only slightly unpleasant thing one could say: - you shave and do your hair in the hallway - there might be one or two toilets and showers to few but for the price it's is totally fine by me. Just get up very early (05:00 a.m. or so) and use the time to get a great Chinese breakfast at the stalls and enjoy how it is not crowded!
Bēi W — Google review
The hostel is cheap but even though not a great place to stay in winter. It’s not very clean, the toilets disgusting and the showers without hot water and any water pressure. Beds are quite uncomfy - but that’s a thing in China. The coffee and breakfast is quite good and reasonable. In general the staff was not nice at all apart from the lovely guy who is serving in the morning. Not the place to be but cheap - that’s what it is.
Johnnie J — Google review
The staff was not super helpful, the place was not super clean. But over all it was good enough. The common room had lots of good seats and the food (which was slow) was actually pretty good. Beds were clean and each bed had a plug. Location was great as there was tons to walk to and the metro was close by. Would totally stay here again but would not rave about it.
Jessamyn B — Google review
Amazing hot shower. I was in a private room with two double beds because there was construction. Pleased that the moved me but my room was freezing I used both comforters. There was a kettle in the room which was nice and a TV as well, did the secret great Wall tour and really enjoyed it. Overall I recommend staying at 365 inn across the street and doing the tour through leo. I found the room to be very expensive. But over all clean and nice quality .
MacKenzie R — Google review
Rooms are small and there's bathroom only on ground floor, so if you're staying on the first floor you must go to downstairs through hostel bar to get to the bathroom. Also if you have big suitcase, it's better to stay on ground floor since the stairs are very narrow. The location is really good, near the center and there are a lot of small 24/7 markets around. Overall I'd say it's an okay hostel.
Sara K — Google review
location is great but that’s about it. tiny dingy rooms with super hard beds (i know this is china but still). no bathrooms on the second floor - have to walk through a bar to get to the toilet downstairs. not what you want to be doing in your pyjamas at 1am. people pee in the showers upstairs instead which leaves them smelly. treat yourself to a hotel instead.
Rachel C — Google review
Warning: I stayed here and the next day had a rash on my neck which I thought was eczema; it was actually a fungal infection (similar to athletes foot), while it was easy to treat it still took several weeks and is reflective of their cleanliness. There were also bed bugs. I would not stay here ever again and caution others. On a positive note, it is a great location, the staff speaks perfect English, and the bathroom was clean. I stayed on the first floor in 6 bed dorm. I would recommend calling before you leave for your trip to confirm reservation because they “couldn’t find” mine when I arrived and I had booked online two weeks prior; I was lucky because my trip was not a weekend or holiday so plenty of openings.
Kinsey M — Google review
Upon arrival I requested a bottom bunk. The staff put me in a private room with shared bathroom. The room was small but comfortable. The mattress pads commonly used in China could be replaced. The bathroom stalls were small in size but the showers were large and the hot water was unlimited. The toilets appeared to clog regularly due to the excess paper used. They should install bidet wands to reduce the toilet paper and clogging problems. I recommend it. The restaurant on site a tad expensive and not generous with meat. The bun is bigger than the burgers. The banger was good. The mash potatoes I loved. Couldn't get them to replace the french fries with mash potatoes.

Hotel
This luxurious resort hotel is located by the beautiful Wenyu River in Beijing, providing a true 5-star hot spring bathing experience. The rooms are spacious and have their own private area for hot spring baths, and the buffet breakfast offers an excellent selection of food from both eastern and western cuisines. While it takes a long time to get there from central Beijing, it's definitely worth it for the luxury and scenic experience offered at this resort hotel.
Lovely stay, the resort is beautiful, the rooms as spacious and we really enjoyed our stay. The spa in the the room was lovely to soak in after walking the great wall. Hotel provides complimentary water. The resort also had an ATM, self serve snacks (but it was easier to visit the convenience store just outside the complex), coffee shop, restuarant, bar and public springs. Reduced one star for the room, due to the aircon being a bit glitch, we couldn't get it cool enough until the last day of our stay. Our bed was just two singles push together which made it a little awkward to sleep.
Yasmine C — Google review
I was here for the hot spring. you do have the option to stay at the resort overnight or just enjoy the spa for the day. I was on a day visit with my sister. we paid RMB168 each as it was a week day, weekend is busier and likely to be more expensive. the facilities are great it wasn't crowded so ideal and more hygiene looking. free food available all day I was so stuffed. definitely recommend if you have never been to a Chinese hot spring. travelled by tax so not sure how easy it is to go by public transport

We've stayed here whilst we're in Beijing. This hotel is part of our hotel stays in China for our tour. It is 26 minutes out to the city. You need a car in this place because the place is big and even just going to the breakfast buffet is a walk, lols We got stuck here for a day due to the previous sandstorm. I was surprised they have a spa, and it is worth visiting. As part of our group tour, we have a discount for massage, and we were told if we add 88 yuan then we can also enjoy the buffet. I do like this hotel because of the great spa feature. I even had a massage here. But if you want to be in the centre of the city, then don't book in this hotel as it is a drive to go in and out.

This is a rundown hotel. Rooms are very big but almost no amenities. This hotel runs mainly because of the international tourists and still there was no staff who could speak basic English. The location of hotel is very far from tourist friendly location. So you are stuck in the hotel in the evening for dinner too, for which there are not many options.

Nestled in a charming hutong neighborhood, Chinese Box Courtyard Hostel is a sleek and stylish accommodation in central Beijing. The property offers spacious double, family, and dormitory rooms with unique wooden barriers and curtains as dividers. Guests can enjoy complimentary dinner, breakfast, bike rentals, Chinese tea ceremonies, and calligraphy classes for an authentic cultural experience. The friendly staff provides helpful recommendations for tours while the Xisi metro station is conveniently located within walking distance for easy access to major attractions.
An amazing hostel tucked away in a little hutong neighborhood. The Xisi metro station is a ten to fifteen minute walk away which will give you easy access to Beijing. The bedrooms aren't set up like your typical hostel rooms with wooden barriers and curtains serving as dividers between beds. They have small lockers for storage and plenty of space under your bed to store larger bags and suitcases. The bathrooms, though small, are clean and serviced regularly. The hosts and staff are knowledgeable, kind, and speak perfect English. They also offer tour booking and free bike rentals! Strongly recommend a visit as a solo traveler. It can be a little tricky finding the place so be sure to mark it on your map so you can navigate using GPS.

Good hostel - not much space to hang out, but the availability of bikes and tour recommendations make this place a go-to. The showers were acceptable and the prices were great. Their breakfast was perfect as well. The espresso they serve is also delicious.
Anthony H — Google review
Found it to be a great hostel, the staff were very friendly and helpful with any queries. The room was nice with very effective A/C, it was also handy to have a locker to keep valuables safe. The location is good as it's quite close to the Xisi subway station which makes it easy to get to all the major attractions. The alleyway it's located on can seem a bit dark at night but the area feels very safe as there is almost no crime in Beijing so threse probably little chance of anything untoward happening. There are quite a few small restaurants and shops nearby, but there aren't many bars in the area as the locals seem to like to drink beer in the small restaurants which close early, there is a really nice bar 20 mins walk away called the Nbeer Pub (85 Huguosi Dajie) which is open until 0200 sometimes. It's also 20 mins walk to the Xaidan district which has a few big shopping centres.

Great backpackers inn in traditional houtong. Great to hang and meet fellow travellers while experiencing Beijing from local perspective. Great friendly staff, clean linen and facilities.

(Translated by Google) I am a traveler from Taiwan. When I first arrived at the Wendu Shuicheng Manxin Hotel in Beiqijia, Beijing, the service at the front desk was very good, but there was really too much water. Although it was warm to lie on my hands, the fruits and tea bags were also great, and everything I asked for was available. When I go to Beijing, this is the cheapest hotel I have ever stayed in with good service and attitude. I like it very much and will still choose you next time. I also want to ask what brand your bath products are, especially the Runfa products. I really like them after using them. If you don’t mind telling me? Thank you for making my last day in Beijing a wonderful memory😊☺️ (Original)

Nangong Spring Season Hotel Beijing Parking Lot is a 5-star hot spring hotel located in Wangzuo Town, Fengtai District, Beijing. The hotel features an international standard swimming pool, wave pool, water amusement garden, hot spring massage pool, and water slides. It's recommended to avoid rush hours for quicker travel to downtown. The hotel offers clean and quiet accommodations with three restaurants on the second floor. However, there may be challenges with English communication.

Liangchun L — Google review
Nice hotel but quite far from down town at least it takes from 1,5 up to 2,5 hours during rush hours. We experienced that if you can avoid rush hours you can make it in 45 minutes. My recommendation for staying in this one hotel is to take the suite rooms and to take breakfast at the japan restaurant on first floor.
Enrique P — Google review
The hotel was booked by a tour company I travelled with. If it wasnt 45minutes from Tianment square and the Beijing city center (roughly 120 to 160 Yuan by taxi depending on traffic) I would rate it 3.5 stars. Its located in a very eerie neighborhood where everything closes early and theres almost no people, best way to describe it is like it's a movie set. Theres no restaurants or convent stores nearby. Minimal facilities, rooms were decent, clean, beds comfortable. Only front desk spoke English but were quick and prompt to assist. Breakfast buffet was on the 2nd floor and decent. The Japanese restaurant at the ground floor was eerie too but surprisingly the food was delicious. The Chinese food on the ground floor; acording to others in my tour group, was good. Overall it was safe and it served its purpose after a long day touring. If I came back to Beijing, I dont think I would stay here simply because of the distance from the city.
Richard — Google review
Very clean, quiet with three restaurants on the second floor. Far from the centre of Beijing. On the opposite side of city from the international airport.
