This place is likely were most parties are thrown cus it's along the beach and due to that , because everyone likes to be along side the beach many people comes to any party thrown there the best about it is that there's no fee for entrance during a party or anything else In every party thrown there is really successful and enjoying and you can also be there

Great service and amazing views! They were very nice and helpful, opening the beach terrace for us (needs to improve maintenance a little bit). They served us the daily fufu special with fish, it was delicious, but might be quite spicy at first for westerners. Overall great experience and stellar service!
Borja M — Google review
This place is situated by the Elmina beach. There is a fair number of drinks and food selection. Used to be a good hangout spot with really good food a d decent service. Now however, service is below standard with a semblance of untrained waiters. Once my friends and I visited and were served with rotten yam fries with the waiter explaining they had run out. Bathrooms were dirty as well.

The environment is very good and I loved their food too

Not a big place and it's not specious too, just by the road side. The offer night jams during the weekends which is always crowded by a lot of people including young ones

The Lemon Freedom Bar & Grill offers a delightful and enjoyable experience with its cheerful and attentive staff. The cuisine is exquisite, and the ambiance is exceptional. The restroom facilities are outstanding compared to other establishments. This venue deserves praise for its excellent service, making it a preferred choice for dining in Cape Coast. Visitors to Elmina will find the Freedom bar and restaurant to be an incredibly welcoming place worth visiting. It provides a great atmosphere for relaxation, serving delicious food alongside refreshing fruit juices.
Anomansa Restaurant was a perfect rest after a long hike of the Elmina sea shores. The setting is awesome as it looks like eating in the 1800s in a good way. The ambience was great and the service was nice. It is built into the castle with great views and right outside is the shore with bustling fish sales and awesome hand carved canoes that bring in their catch from sea. There is also the castle or Fort which us magnificent. There was a variety of meals which was a welcoming thing to hear, food are a little bit pricy but worth it. We had the chicken wings with Ghana man sauce and it was great . They have a strong contender for Ghana Jollof with tilapia. Fresh was the food and proteins. Excellent setting and songs to slow jam to. All in all excellent to have been there and truly enjoyed. Family friendly with spacious play area for kids.
Felix N — Google review
The catch of the day Snapper was not fresh, and definitely not from that day. It was fish frozen for several days, even though we mentioned multiple times that we wanted the catch of that day. Was rather disappointing considering there was literally fresh fish at the bay that morning. Catch of the day, should be catch of the day. Or disclose that it’s not.
Rose D — Google review
Beautiful space, beautiful view, serene environment. I enjoyed the jollof rice and spicy chicken a bit too much. Their pancakes were really good but the serving for ice cream was really small. I'd recommend visiting the restaurant at sunset to witness the sun sit on the water, just before it sets. Beautiful experience!
Yvonne H — Google review
From a Canadian perspective, this is a very nice place! They offer Americano coffee, Cappuccino, great burgers, cocktails, and much more. We often struggle to find this kind of restaurant; I believe it ranks among the top ones. It’s calm, with music not too loud, and the staff is very pleasant as well. Prices are more affordable than at our resort, it’s a really great offer.
Matthias V — Google review
We came here after the Elmina Castle tour. It’s a great spot with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We only had time for some drinks but don’t regret stopping by. We’ve made a note to allow more time next visit so we can eat!

Indoor lodging
Nestled in a serene environment, Coconut Grove Beach Resort offers straightforward rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi and beachfront dining. Guests can enjoy an outdoor pool and a gazebo while taking in the wonderful oceanic views. The resort provides a different culinary experience from traditional Ghanaian food, offering self-service meals that are not heavily spiced. While some guests have praised the exceptional meals and top-notch hospitality, others have suggested improvements in customer service and maintenance of electronic doors for family unit rooms.
This is an older AND wonderful resort for this area. It's located directly on the beach. After visiting several emotion-filled sites associated with the evils of the slave trade, the Coconut Grove Beach Resort is the perfect respite.
Jazzy D — Google review
Although I didn't stay overnight, I had dinner there and brunch the next day after a retreat that was held there. The food was good and the staff were very accommodating. The beach was clean, which added to the amazing sunrise.
L T — Google review
Great location, the only bay beach on that stretch that is not blocked by sea defence. The roads to the hotel, like many in Ghana, are to be endured. Rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. Weather in the garden or beach is perfect. A large golfing cos. Some animal kn sight like horses, rabbits, Croc pound. Family friendly with playground, kids pool, and beach activities. The food is good. Always order ahead for things like seafood bcos it can take a while. They recently added a story structure behind the bar for more seating. It has a good view. My server brought food without cutlery and brought it after 5 minutes.
Ms A — Google review
Breakfast buffet is not good at all. Slow or no service, ran out of food often and saw a large rat near the dining area. Sad because we had high hopes and thought this would be a great place to stay and we were extremely disappointed.
Desiree M — Google review
Check in is 2pm, but the rooms were not ready and there was no urgency about getting them ready - it took over half an hour for them to be available. One rooms didn’t have towels and it took three requests to reception and four hours to get some. The hot water boiler in one of the other rooms didn’t work, so some people had cold showers. The WiFi only works in reception, which on a complex of this size and this price is useless. There are lots of pictures in reception proudly displaying all the celebrities who have visited, but this is a vastly overpriced hotel for poor service, cold water and no WiFi.
Phil B — Google review
We stayed here for a few nights while visiting the slave dungeons in Elmina. The place is okay, but seems a bit dated. Our room definitely was. We had the hardest hotel mattress that I’ve ever slept on. Lizards in our bathroom. Only a few minutes of hot water while showering. And, a stopped up sink that maintenance came and quickly fixed. The most memorable part of this stay was the 50th wedding anniversary celebration that was put together for a couple in our travel group.

Esthetics are emaculalate. Only went for dinner but waited a long time for the food. It was however. Really delicious! Not spicy as requested.

Food is mostly local Ghanaian food and is a popular spot for The University of Cape Coast students. There are no wait times but service is generally slow. Order a drink and go easy on it, your fufu may take a while to arrive!

I absolutely loved this place. Beautiful views, serene environment and very friendly staff. The owner was soo kind too. If you want some peace and quiet to rejuvenate then this is your place. I’ll definitely come back again. I had such a great experience.
Sarah B — Google review
Elmina Bay is in a great secluded location with nicely landscaped and expansive grounds. It has a sizeable pool and very spacious rooms. The sea defence bulwark limits access to the beach, especially at high tide though. It's a great place to escape from the crowded locations of the city and tourist attractions. The service is a bit stand-offish and not as welcoming as one would have expected. Then again, maybe that was just our experience on the day we went.
Steve A — Google review
My stay was ok but I wouldn't suggest this hotel to be a one-stop for all things. There are more resorts in the area that serve better food than here. My brother's rice was burned, they put too much oil in everything, and the wait doe the food is too long. The rooms had nice mattresses but just a sheet to cover you, and the shower is unpracticle and a pain to use. The pool was nice, although it is saltwater. The beach is in walking distance just past the beautiful stone wall (the pictures aren't updated, the beach isn't right there anymore) but you can not swim in there, the current is too strong! The people were nice, and the owner even tried to speak in french to my grandma, who couldn't speak English well. I recommend this place for a night stop (with an extra blanket on hand) and to use the pool. The food isn't worth the wait
Hannah M — Google review
Friendly and welcoming staff and very quiet with surprisingly few other guests. Rooms moderately well appointed with lovely views of the ocean. Food just average. No beach directly in front of the hotel due to newly built sea wall but only a 200 metre walk away. A pretty nice place overall but a bit pricey for what you get.
Sam L — Google review
About 3 and a half hours out of Accra but worth it if you want some quiet. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and accommodations generally good. I loved the pool (which was very clean by the way). The highlight was the beach access. We also got fresh coconut water. I will go back again.
Bukola I — Google review
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Elmina Bay Resort! The room was extremely comfortable, the WiFi was relatively good, the breakfast and (especially) dinner were excellent, and the pool was also a highlight of my trip! Everyone was also so kind and sweet. I look forward to coming again soon!
Mandarin T — Google review
We arrived dusty, tired, and world weary from Kumasi. From other experiences in our stay I was skeptical that the location would be good. I was wrong— it was great! We were greeted by Mr. Kweku who runs the operation. He quickly checked us in, answered some questions about getting around, visiting the national forest, and returning to Accra, and then insisted that we relax. We were shown to our room by the excellent Mr. Henry and Ms. Vivian, both of whom kindly showed us around and ensured we were taken care of throughout our visit. The room isn’t a room at the ritz. Let me confirm what some other reviews— it’s hot and the AC can take a bit to cool the room down. But on the positive side, the water pressure is great (and hot) and the bed is comfortable enough. The pool is lovely, if a bit warm, and provides and amazing view of the crashing ocean waves, sunrises, and sunsets. The restaurant provides a mix of western and African food which we really enjoyed! If you are visiting Africa and having trouble finding local dishes we’d recommend checking this place out even if you’re just visiting. The lodge arranged drivers for us to the National Park and back to Accra at a reasonable price, and helped us get taxis into the city to visit the castles. Overall an excellent stay!
JM D — Google review
This is a cute place to stay while visiting Elmina and Kakum Forest. The pool is beautiful, they offer horse rides, and the staff is friendly. The room is comfy but pretty bare bones- a bed, a desk, bathroom, armoire. A sea wall also blocks a direct path to the beach, but you can climb it or go around. The water was so amazingly warm and refreshing.

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere! It's part of the resort but you can also come if you not a guest. Traditional food and it tastes great. After you can stroll and look at the water and feel refreshed. Eating is outside under a canoe but no bugs so perfect for hot weather. Definitely stop by when around in Elmina.

Those place is awesome! As someone from the diaspora who is frequent in this area, I love to come to Lemon Beach. The food, the vibe, the staff, the management are all amazing and I'm.sure it takes a lot to consistently offer this level of quality. I think the food needs to improve. The seafood dish we ordered was not fresh at all. The snapper tasted like it had been microwaved. The jollof was just darkened rice (darkened with soy sauce). The resort is very beautiful (I didn't see the inside of the rooms), great scenery and very neat. Their meals need to be improved

Lemon Beach Resort offers a serene and tranquil stay in charming cottages with ocean views. The resort's stunning location allows guests to connect with the region's culture, while the top-notch service ensures a peaceful and exclusive experience. The friendly staff goes above and beyond to create memorable stays, offering delicious meals and arranging amazing experiences such as cycling through the town, visiting local markets, and enjoying cooking sessions with locals.
We loved it at Lemon Beach and would always come back! Staff was friendly and polite, always offering help when needed but was also relaxed. The area is calm and quiet, with a nice view on the sea. The restaurant is also nice, could add some more vegetarian options ;) but it was no problem to adjust the meals. Lemon beach offers a lot of interesting activities as well, some for free f.e. Painting, which was a highlight for me. The rooms were clean and had good air-conditioning. Everything was really wonderful. Recommendations: The washroom near the pool could use some extra cleaning and maybe it could help to put a sign on the pool with the opening hours - there were some really loud guests at the pool way past nights rest and it was hard to reach someone after 10pm, because the reception closed

Although the IG page was very well done, I wasn’t quite sure of what to expect. Sometimes those ads can be deceiving. I am happy to share that LBR is actually even more beautiful than photos can capture. We had a villa which was a nice size, AC and WiFi worked great. Water pressure and temp were also as expected. Comfy bed and we were in unit two so we heard the ocean waves crashing all day and night. I wouldn’t be surprised if the other villas can hear it too. The hotel portion of the resort looked quite inviting as well. The food wax very good including the breakfast which I’d say is more than a simple English breakfast. The dining area is nice and clean. The staff was awesome. We especially enjoyed our interactions with Prince who is not only kind but highly professional, attentive and very personable. It seems he has deep knowledge of effectively conducting business in the field of hospitality As for the location, the neighboring resorts have actual beach access but not the same physical charm as LBR. It’s a short walk over to sit on the sand should you prefer. As for me, I’d still choose the Lemon. It’s so unique. I had an opportunity to meet one of the owners. He was very prescient and kind but more importantly I deeply the appreciation the charitable partnerships he has with the community and he seems to be supportive of his staff as well.

I had an absolutely fabulous time at Lemon Beach Resort—it truly felt like heaven on earth! The customer service was top tier, and to my delight, we were upgraded to a stunning ocean view room. 🌊✨ One of the highlights was indulging in a beautiful stone massage—so relaxing and rejuvenating. The food and entertainment were simply superb, making every moment enjoyable. 🍽️🎶 A big shout-out to Solomon, our server, who went above and beyond to make our experience even more special. 🙌🏾 I can’t wait to return—highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for the perfect getaway!

The accommodation was very clean, with regular and impeccable housekeeping. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. The owners/managers were extremely supportive and ready to accommodate all our needs. The food was excellent – both Ghanaian and European dishes were delicious. I truly have nothing to complain about – everything was perfect.
Monika F — Google review
We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel during our week-long trip to Ghana, and it was truly the highlight of our journey. Having experienced several other hotels in the country, I can confidently say that this place stands on an entirely different level. In terms of quality, service, and comfort, it easily matches the very best European standards and simply cannot be compared with typical local hotels. The staff were attentive, professional, and always ready to help with a smile, which made us feel welcome from the very first moment. The location by the ocean is nothing short of breathtaking. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was the perfect ending to each day.
Josef V — Google review
The staff at Lemon was fantastic. They provided excellent service and were always friendly and helpful. The mattresses were incredibly comfortable, with high-quality sheets and pillows. The rooms were clean, the air conditioning was working, and everything else was perfect. The resort’s design was also unique, with huts built in the local African style.
Jakub Š — Google review
A beautiful place run by beautiful people, Lemon Beach Resort is a hidden gem ✨ The rooms are spacious, equipped with AC, and very clean. The restaurant offers a mix of continental and local food (both equally tasty), along with a fun cocktail menu. The staff is lovely and goes out of their way to accommodate your every need. You can also choose from various activities—massages, archery, boat tours, paintball, bonfires, biking, and more—to make the most of your stay. I definitely recommend the deep tissue massage; it was a lifesaver after the long flight!

This is an amazing resort. We checked in Friday evening and checked out Sunday morning. Our stay was amazing. The staff were friendly, kind and helpful. We stayed in one of the cottages with ocean view. The rooms were large and clean, the bed was comfortable.

Nestled in the historical district of Elmina, Golden Hill Parker Hotel offers a serene retreat with stunning panoramic views. The family-friendly hotel is conveniently located near popular attractions such as Elmina Castle and Fort St. Jago. Guests can enjoy leisure facilities including an outdoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center. Visitors have praised the attentive staff, delicious meals, and exceptional customer service at this enchanting hillside getaway.
A lovely place to stay if wanting to go see the historic sites of Elmina and Cape Coast. The rooms are clean, airy with good air conditioning and a balcony. The panoramic views are stunning. However what makes this place so special is the staff. They were so nice, helpful and kind to our group. Particularly John Emmanuel's (there are two of them), Anthony, Samuel, Stephen, Paul, Millie, Gabriel and Monica from the boutique.Sorry if anyone missed. You all made our stay truly memorable. Thank you

Faultless with amazing services and views of Elmina. The hotel being newer compared to some has modern facilities. The grounds are beautiful to walk, the swimming pool is clean and their spring rolls are by far the best.

It is one of the best places to stay in Cape Coast. Beautiful location on top of a hill with panoramic view. Nice and tidy rooms. Nice food with exceptional service.

A beautiful site, with a fantastic view of Elmina and very accommodating personal. In the morning hours the little birdies are an absolute highlight. Only the missing access to the sea is a bit of a downside but we just went to the beach at the Coconut Grove Beach Resort what worked just fine

I had the honor of recently spending two nights at this location with a team of 7 from the United States. We had been working in Northeast Ghana at a hospital for the previous month and had a few days of rest and relaxation in Elmina. The staff were incredible! From the transportation to and from Accra, to the front desk and facility staff, we had a wonderful experience. Emmanuel, Gabriel, Clement, Paul, and the rest were very engaged with us, and eager to help with any desire we had. Gabriel even arranged a walking tour of downtown Elmina on his own time with us the morning before we left, which was extraordinary! The restaurant is excellent with wonderful choices and fresh fruit and fish. The rooms were very comfortable, kept very cold by well functioning air-conditioning units, and gave our group two wonderful days of relaxation. The only comment is, for those traveling, this location is on the top of the hill looking over the city, and it’s not on the water itself. We were able to easily arrange a taxi to a local hotel to use the ocean for swimming however and this was very convenient. The swimming pool at the hotel is wonderful though and our team enjoyed it greatly. I wish the best of luck to this hotel, and to the staff as they made our trip excellent! Thank you!

Came here with my family for a day at the pool. We ordered food for dinner and drinks by the pool. Such a nice ambience to watch the sunset. The view was beautiful and the service was so impressive! Shoutout to the staff here for making this a must visit spot.

I love the fish burger. Also the place to satisfy your craving for cake, American style. Be careful, the fish burger is made from real, fresh fish and you may find a bone! But the flavor is delicious. It includes lettuce, tomatoes and onions with french fries (potato chips). Have a pineapple ginger juice with it, then enjoy an Origin beer while watching the beauty of the sea.

Went there to eat multiple times during our stay. Didn't experience the sleeping accommodations. Best food I ate while in Ghana!

The lodging is relatively expensive, and while it includes bed and breakfast, an additional charge is required for a second person’s breakfast, which doesn’t feel fair for the price. The TV in my room wasn’t working, and although a technician came after several hours, it still couldn’t be fixed. On a positive note, the location and the view are excellent.

I loved being right on this beautiful beach. The view is amazing and they played r&b oldies which made me feel at home. Great job bringing Black America to Cape Coast, Ghana!! I didn't stay in the hotel so I can't rate it.I will come back for the vibe.

Lodging relatively expensive! B&F, but one has to pay for breakfast for a second person. For the price, this is not good. TV in room is not working. Technician came in after several hours but couldn't fix it. Location and view are super.

The view and the food were just perfect..the waiter attended to us well. The price was quite on the high side for me because there wasn't much going on with the food.

Nice place, but mosquitoes bit me in the room like mad, even with the fan and aircon on. Food was great.

A feeling of being welcome home Ghana style. The hospitality, acts of kindness, empathy, and caring are unforgettable. The food and accomodations are value for money and more. I am a preferred customer since 1996.

During my journey to Takoradi, I made a pit stop at Monte Karlo Restaurant where I indulged in a satisfying meal. This fast food establishment offers delectable cuisine at pocket-friendly rates. The dishes served are not only flavorsome but also reasonably priced, making it an ideal dining option for those on a budget.
They serve delicious food and affordable prices.
