Iglesia de Santa María la Mayor

Mentioned on

Basilica
Sights & Landmarks
The Santa María la Mayor basilica is a 15th-century Catholic church located in the heart of a charming city. The building has unique architecture and incorporates elements from a 13th-century mosque. Visitors can climb to the "Mirador" for panoramic views of the surroundings while admiring religious artifacts displayed in museum rooms along the way. The church is particularly stunning when empty and illuminated at night, with Easter mass timings available for those interested in attending services or joining processions to the town square.
I had the chance to visit the Real Basílica de Santa María a Maior in Pontevedra, and it was a stunning sight. This beautiful Gothic church, with its intricate stone façade and impressive rose window, stands as a masterpiece of religious architecture. The details on the main portal are particularly captivating, showcasing figures and symbols that reflect its historical significance. The basilica exudes a sense of grandeur and serenity, making it a must-see for anyone exploring Pontevedra.
Luciano C — Google review
The best part is the outside and it is stunning stone work. The inside is rather plain but still interesting though. It is definitely worth to pay 1€ to climb the tower. The view of the city isn’t very interesting but the cathedral is. Be careful though as the bells still ring every 15 minutes and they are loud if you are at the top.
Simon R — Google review
The church is beautiful. I bought a ticket to climb the stairs and see Pontevedra from the towers. Tickets are sold inside the church and cost 5 euros. The church is small but the architecture is amazing, very detailed and the artworks are worth watching closely. If you are taking photos inside churches, please be respectful and do it discreetly, no flash and no big equipment, including selfie-sticks.
Estela R — Google review
Currently under rennovation in 2025, visitors can continue to enter the church. The basilica of Santa Maria is considered Pontevedra's main church, functioning as a cathedral. It is a catholic church dating back to the 16th century. It is the same site of a former Romanesque church dating back to the 15th century.
Ken H — Google review
Beautiful church architecture. We were there just in time for mass and watched a lovely couple celebrate their anniversary. Good to see that it is used by the local community. Worth a visit
Shirin P — Google review
A lovely little church in the centre of a nice city. Something I would recommend to visit at night. A small donation of 1€ you go up to the "Mirador" and while you go to the top there are a couple of museum rooms to enjoy some religious artifacts. A nice church which we didn't look around but worth the time to sit and enjoy it's beauty.
Juan P — Google review
Very beautiful church, and heavenly big. You can look everywhere and everything is beautiful. The entree is free. Don't miss it. The artifacts are incredibly beautiful. I don't know if you can climb the tower. We were not able to find that. But i think it should be beautiful.
S B — Google review
Beautiful, historical cathedral. Great information on history, architecture, and art work.

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Convento e Igrexa de San Francisco is a 14th-15th century church located in the heart of a beautiful Old Town. The building features a simple facade with a tower and rosette that allows light to illuminate the long nave inside. It has a transept and triple head-board of polygonal apses, and it was declared an artistic and historical monument in 1896.
I had the opportunity to see the Convento de San Francisco in Pontevedra from the outside, and it truly stands out with its historical and architectural charm. The building, with its stone façade and impressive arches, reflects its medieval origins. The peaceful atmosphere around the convent adds to its beauty, making it a notable landmark in the city. While I didn’t go inside, the exterior alone tells a fascinating story of the convent’s long-standing religious significance.

Unfortunately unable to visit on my Camino de Santiago journey because it was closed 😢..as I've said with other churches..wish they had more flexible hours for pilgrims

The church was locked tight. This is on the pilgrims way. Tell those lazy nuns to unlock the church and allow people to prayer.

This provincial museum stands out not only for its extensive collection of historic artifacts but also for its remarkable artworks by renowned artists such as Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Esteban Murillo, Pablo Picasso, and Francisco de Zurbaran.
Probably the best mesum we've ever visited. 3 floors to Explore and discover + a temproary exhibition on the ground floor. Most museums that charge aren't this good. Staff were super friendly and helpful, lots to see and learn, lovely building and arhicetecture! The fact it's free to get in crazy! Staff spoke great English too!

This is a modern, beautifully laid out museum with loads of space to accommodate many visitors. It is the pride of Pontevedra, showcasing the art and history of the city. I found the early tools of the first inhabitants, dating back 450,000 years ago to be the most interesting. This free museum is a must-see for anyone visiting Pontevedra.

Wonderful museum with fascinating artwork. Spent a couple hours working my way through what proved to be an excellent decision to go there.

Highly recommended for anyone on the Camino with time to visit - the archaeology section is small but very interesting (with interpretation in English). Good facilities, friendly staff and lockers for bags, and all for free!

PonteVedra Spain. A gentle city, great underground parking. Beautiful small churches, The town dressed for the holidays. An opera singer on the square accompanied by professional musicians. Bravo. I would like to spend a week.

These are Ruins of San Domingos. We donated a few euros and it was interesting, but limited info on what we were really looking at. We wished there was a tour, but we couldn't find one.
Olivia C — Google review
Nice to stop by and adore the ruins. It kind of feel eclectic but cool.
Jan L — Google review
Worth visiting when passing by, impressive historic building in the town
Ryan L — Google review
These ruins are the only surviving remains (14th-15th century) of the of the convent complex that the Dominicans built in the town, which was rescued from demolition in the late 19th century. The chevet of the church, with five apses, is exceptional in the Galician Gothic style. This complex, which was once the headquarters of the Sociedad Arqueológica de Pontevedra (Archaeological Society of Pontevedra), was the first building in the province to be declared a National Monument (1895). It is the oldest of the six buildings that make up the Museum of Pontevedra.

Free to get in. It's half a baroque church in the city centre. It was the last site we visited so we were weary. Maybe we missed the significance but coming from Wales it seemed to be just another old building

As a pilgrim/tourist, this is gorgeous place to walk around!!

The city is a mix match of old and new, a working city. The old quarters has some cute streets, alot of the old buildings haven't been looked after and nearly falling down, which is a shame.
Jackie L — Google review
This is a beautiful park, the largest in Pontevedra. The end of Gran Vía de Montero Ríos, or avenue, is the Monument to the Soldier. The cross is from the 1940s but the additional sculptures of soldiers were added in 1986.

(Translated by Google) The Lérez River, with a route of nearly 60 kilometers, all of them in the province of Pontevedra, rises in the San Bieito mountain located in the parish of Acibeiro in the municipality of Forcadell. Its course crosses Cerdedo, Campo Lameiro, Cotobad, Santo André de Xeve and Pontevedra. It receives contributions from different small tributaries, which in rainy seasons cause its flow to increase, creating small rapids in its middle section. In the last 7 kilometers its channel slows down and widens since it is part of the Pontevedra estuary, where its waters mix with those of the Atlantic. Here we find the Illa de Tambo in an area where beaches abound, both on the northern shore where we find the municipalities of Poio, Sanxenxo and Portonovo, and on the southern shore where the cities of Pontevedra, Marín, Bueu and the region of Morrazo (Original) El río Lérez, con un recorrido cercano a los 60 kilómetros, todos ellos en la provincia de Pontevedra, nace en el monte de San Bieito ubicado en la parroquia de Acibeiro en el término municipal de Forcadell. Before continuing on your way. I usually do the route leaving the car near the Puente de los Tirantes since you have plenty of parking, and I go up and down to the Bora Dam walking at a good pace in just under 3 hours approx. A good walk, with few people and spectacular views!! I love Pontevedra!! (Translated by Google) In this area, everything that is natural, that is, the river, nature and surroundings, is wonderful. The bad thing is the people who go for a run and do not separate themselves, especially the geeks who go in small groups of 4 or 5, in the walking area where There is concrete, there is every sinkhole that, as I say, fewer ridges and fewer sinkholes. I think that in this town the center is taken care of too much and the periphery or the suburbs are abandoned too much, I would say. The bike lane, scooter or whatever is out of control, the track is being lifted with the roots of the trees and it is not repaired. If you go with a baby stroller along the promenade where there is concrete or on the track, be very careful because that looks like Sarajevo. , broken trash cans...

Praza da Ferraría is a vibrant square that serves as a delightful hub for both locals and visitors alike. Nestled conveniently across from the convent, this lively spot often comes alive with the sounds of street musicians, making it an ideal place to unwind with a refreshing drink at one of the nearby cafes.
The annual Mediaeval fiesta takes over the whole of the old town. An amazing event, just for the atmosphere and street food. You'll need to set aside an afternoon and evening to appreciate it, ahh and jousting in the bullring, get there early as the queue is long

Ponte do Burgo is a medieval bridge with origins dating back to the 12th century, built on original Roman foundations. It is located on the Caminho Portugues and adorned with scallop shells, symbolizing pilgrimage. This historical bridge crosses the Lerez River and offers a beautiful spot for a pleasant walk, providing an amazing view of the surrounding landscapes. As part of the Portuguese Way, it holds significance for pilgrims passing through.
Wonderful little bridge that helped me cross the Lerez River on my way to Santiago de Compostela. A little sad to be leaving this wonderful little town of Pontevedra. This beautiful bridge allowed me to look back as well as forward on my journey. Thank you, bridge, and to all those who maintain it!
Taylor — Google review
Hopefully there are still some Roman stones remain in the bridge, it looks thoroughly modern
Sergei D — Google review
Not impressive in the slightest. I don't think this bridge is truly Roman, rather it was just built in Roman style. I was disappointed with Pontevedra in general. There wasn't much to see and do despite all the hype that it garners.

Casa Fidel O'Pulpeiro is a renowned seafood tavern located in the heart of the city, offering an unassuming yet delightful dining experience. The restaurant is highly recommended for those seeking traditional Galician cuisine made with high-quality ingredients at reasonable prices.
This is THE place for Pulpo a la Gallega (octopus Galicia style) in Pontevedra! We went there on purpose, as it was highly recommended by locals, and we were delighted by the taste. We even ended up repeating our Pulpo! The place is a regular local joint with simple decor, but the service was 5star. I would say that if one hasn't tried this in Pontevedra, then please do!
Darryl P — Google review
Whilst they have very big variety of seafood my only problem was that everything was a bit too cooked for seafood. Usually when u order seafood u expected a bit less red than it was...I think because of that we can't say that the seafood was so special, but the "pulpo de freita" and the "almejas" were very good.
Miltos M — Google review
Could not recommend this place more! Amazing atmosphere- sit either indoors or outside but watch the pulpo being cooked in a huge vat and the locals buzz in and out. Highly recommend making a reservation or coming early to queue as the spots fill up quick! I recommend it all- the pictures for itself

A great place to try traditional food from galicia. We had octopus, sausage in wine, empanada, croquetas and a cheese cake. All of the dishes were great but the octopus sandwich with cheese was the favorite. Also the service is on spot even though there are many tables the dishes arrive in time and the service is done always with a smile. It's busy so make sure to be early or reserve before coming

Excellent evening, great food and fantastic service. We had the marinated tina to start delicious melted in the mouth, followed by the tempura fried small fish (perfect) and the beef tongue with rice (fantastic) and finished it off with the goats cheese cheesecake which came warm with white chocolate ice cream and a raspberry coulis. Overall a delicious selection and throughly enjoyed at this basement establishment.

Place is hard to find, but at least is not full of tourists. Food is realy tasty - I had Iberian Pork Tacos and it was delicious! My friend had Crunchy Pork Lasagna and he was satisfied as well. Served really quickly.

Andrés provided the best service that we’ve had in Spain. Attentive, helpful, and like your cool friend letting you in on a secret. The marinated tuna with wakame had a unique flavor, delicious and interesting. The croquettes were so good. Loved how creamy they were without diminishing the flavor of the mussels. We loved the crunchy organic veal lasagna. The Galician cheeses provided a complex flavor. My mom couldn’t stop talking about it. Neat decor. Would be fun to come at lunch dressed up a little or to bring a date.

Only 5 stars because there's no option for more. You can enjoy excellent quality dishes in Pontevedra, but this has been a culinary experience like no many others. Nice and special food. It is not very traditional but more interesting texture. The long scollape is very good but little one is not so good. The octopus is recommended. It is very to have reservation or come earlier.

We loved this place so much we went two nights in a row. The food was delicious— everything was great but we especially loved the pulpo and the arroz negro— and the service was friendly and attentive. Great wines by the glass. Highly recommend.

Lovely little square with wonderful tapas. We ate tuna steaks seasonal peppers and tempura prawns! All of them made us smile from all the flavor. Tempura is a must! Tuna is seasonal but if they have it is a sure bet. The staff is super friendly and quick! Perfect place!

What a wonderful alfresco restaurant a Loaira is. Surrounded by magnificent old buildings! A well deserved Michelin star restaurant. A lot of respect for the individual ingredients was evident as each component shined on its own! Well done Loaira! Highly recommended!!

Excellent! Extremely tasty! Menu is clear, located at a lovely square, very friendly good English speaking staff with good wine recommendations, high quality ingredients, non-pretentious, clean toilets who actually smell nice and for a fair price (2 people dinner incl 7 drinks; 47€). Well done!

The overall experience at Restaurante IceWolf Pontevedra was pleasant, but there are some suggestions to be made regarding their Nepalese momo dish. The momo lacked authentic Nepali flavors and seemed more like a Chinese dish. It is recommended that they use traditional Nepali ingredients to truly capture the essence of the cuisine.
Food was incredible, group of 5 of us all loved every single thing that was ordered Service was the best we have had on our camino trip, so much attention to detail and so friendly. Xela was particularly fantastic. Great value! 100% recommended.

3rd time (28 July 2023) - this time with my partner ☆☆☆ I was a bit embarrassed to have recommended it to him as he, being a local & someone who has travelled a lot, didn't enjoy it, at all. My experience this time? So-so. So most likely this the last visit. 2nd time (18 July 2023) - ☆☆☆☆☆ Yum! Had lunch here (menu del dia) on my birthday. I had revuelto and guiso. To make sure you have a table especially during the summer, make sure to reserve a table online—here. No need to call them as they are juggling 50 things at the same time. They have tables outside, too if that's what you prefer. Personally, I prefer to be inside. They don't have gluten-free bread, at least with the menu del dia, so may want to bring your own. You can see their menu del dia on their website. 1st time (13 July 2023) - ☆☆☆☆☆ Nice, elegant and welcoming ambience. Spic and span. Tables well-set and not too close to each other. It was our first time. Menu del dia @ €12.50 which includes a drink, a starter and a main (both of which have only 2 options to choose from, and dessert (just one available—but I suppose they change it every day) or coffee/infusion/tea. I had sopa/crema de remolacha con coco (beetroot soup with coconut) and arroz meloso con merluza (rice cooked longer than usual with hake). Both yummy! (As I didn't get a dessert) I like the fact that I can just reserve a table online—and you get a confirmation of your booking at once. So there's really no need to call them. Friendly, warm and funny staff—very efficient. It gave me the feeling I was eating at home. Very rare in Galicia to get that kind of friendliness and a good sense of humor at that! It was like we were friends! Strange, I know but I'm definitely coming back to let my husband try their food and their hospitality. He will like it for sure. Well-presented food. Dishes you mostly can't find elsewhere (the menu del dia at least). My friend and I really enjoyed our lunch there—a bit challenging when it's a menu del dia in my experience... I was actually hesitant to go at first because of the 1 star reviews—but we didn't regret coming here at all! Perhaps the one thing I'd like to comment was the absence of toilet paper and/or tissues in the female's toilet. I suppose that was because it was a full-house and they were swamped with work left and right so it was ok. I'm definitely bringing my pocket tissue next time, just in case! 😄

Amazing food, from different parts of the world, with chef's special touch. Menu is regularly revised and changed. Selection of cocktails for everyone. Top notch service. And every detail, down to glasses, has been carefully selected. A permanent entry on our holiday go-to plan, even though it means a bit of a drive. 6/5 basically.

Nestled in the heart of Plaza de la Lena, Eirado da Lena is a culinary gem that beautifully marries rustic charm with modern gastronomy. This Michelin-starred establishment in Pontevedra offers an exquisite dining experience, showcasing elevated tasting menus that highlight creative meat and fish dishes rooted in Galician tradition. The ambiance feels warm and inviting, reminiscent of home, while Chef Nake Bretal expertly crafts each dish with a fusion twist.
Small and charming restaurant in the historical centre of Pontevedra. Michelin starred. We had the tasting menu and it was wonderful. The two highlights for me were the aspargus dish and the cuttlefish, which were both outstanding. Excellent service. Good value for money given its quality and reputation.

It was an enjoyable experience with the food quality, the attentive service and its setting in the well preserved old quarter. Especially the delicious well cooked Dorada with crispy skin. The recommended aged Albariño from a small winery was wonderful and very reasonably priced.

Absolutely fantastic experience! An exceptional delight in a restaurant dead centre between the hustle and bustle of Pontevedra. Starters where magnificent taking us on a journey of Galician tradition updated to today with a simplicity nearing perfection. This is worth many stars in my book!

If you like fish then this is the place to go. A 1 michelin star fish restaurant that is punching way above its weight class and wouldn't surprise me if it add a second star soon. Now let's get down to a review, if you don't like fish then you might struggle a little bit, the starter course on the A la Carte menu is a little bit limited and the fixed menus are not going to be for you. However if you do like fish then you are going to be in heaven. An amuse bouche started things off with percebes in miso and some freshly made bread which was absolutely delightful. For me being a non-fish eater (the rest of the family adore it) I had a main course of local Galician Beef with a date compote and a sprinkling of veg which was simple amazing. What you do have to seriously remember though is to leave room for pudding as if the fish is good in this restaurant the deserts are even better. I had a desert which was a play on coffe with a coffe based sponge, cofeee ice cream and coffee paper (??!!..but it worked and tasted of coffee) which was simply amazing. Now comes the painful bit (which really was reasonable for what we had) for four of us (2 adults and 2 chuldren) the bill was €172 without wine but the quality that we had this was actually very reasonable. The $64million question...would I go again? In a heartbeat.. this place is fantastic and a little gem in Pontavedra.

The food was good. The service was appalling. Fish was fresh and cooked to perfection however i wished it had more vegetables on the side or a little bit more mash potato or greens. Lamb was okay - nothing special, again could have used more veggies on the side not just for decoration. The bean dish was very well balanced and the fish super tender good. The coffee quality is not great. I wished they bought better coffee beans. Loved the presentation, the tableware was of premium quality and even some of the cutlery was Cutipol, which I appreciated. Negative: the service was very rude, the guy (Rogelio) that served us had a very bad attitude almost throwing the plates in our table, he literally looked like he hated working there. I asked to please take a picture of the wine bottle i was drinking and when he brought it back he basically slammed it on the table, my husband and I were shocked. No one asked us once how was the food, if we were enjoying it or needed anything else. Besides bringing us the dishes, the service was non existent. For a €130 bill i expect more from service, so I will not be coming back. Plenty good food elsewhere in Galicia with better customer service.

Nice location. Great local food cooked with talent. Prices are a bit high for Galicia, but the quality ratio is excellent. It’s like a Michelin star restaurant. Although they don’t have.
Jiajun Y — Google review
we had the short menu (9 dishes including desserts) and was perfectly enough for a dinner. the tuna (with a perfect spicy touch) and the egg (the mix between egg and Galician cheese is amazing) were the best. Special mention for the desserts, both of them were awesome. it definitely worth it. just to comment a point that could be checked, it was a bit hot in the restaurant (not enough to be uncomfortable) I was wondering if it was because of the government's energy policies, but all the windows were open.

The restaurant is lovely and very well decorated. We even made a reservation ahead of time because we thought it would be packed. When we got there it was empty except for a family of 5. That was our first red flag. The food took a bit longer than expected and it was subpar, even salty. When paying the bill and they asked about our food they said we should've said something about the food and they would re-do it. I think if you're going to a restaurant the chef should probably know how to properly cook and salt their dishes.

(Translated by Google) The octopus leg is a small portion and in this specific case, with a bit of a burnt griddle flavor. The citrus spheres have a fairly intense flavor that overshadows the flavor of the octopus. The meat is good, but it is not exceptional meat either and the idea of putting the seasoned sprouts right on top sweetens the dish. Very kindly to say, they brought a side of potato wedges to accompany it. Finally, the pasta dish is correct but both in quantity (for those who eat well) and in flavor, it is quite fair. The service is good and the place is pleasant. Quality-price ratio a little high for the quality, quantity and location of the restaurant.

After having eaten much Galician food this little place comes across as a breath of fresh air. Their inventive combination of local ingredients to yield something entirely different and incredibly tasty is to be lauded and supported! My wife and I discovered a great Rioja and a Mencia. We had their salad with figs (brilliant!), the salted tuna with mozzarella (a first for us) and their Vietnamese salad rolls filled with local pork pancetta (melt in the mouth!). If only it was possible to put 6/5! We came to Badiana Tapas at random, we were expecting it to be one of those good but classical tapas restaurant that the region is not short of: we were not ready for something that phenomenal! All the plates were exceptional, but we particularly enjoyed the octopus timbale. It was original, very well presented and complex, but all the flavours were perfectly balanced. The quality of the food was on par with gourmet restaurants I have been to, for a fraction of the price. I think this place is underrated, it would be the kind of "Galician-fusion" restaurant where people would queue to get in if it were in one of the European capital cities where I have been living.

The staff was very courteous and nice ;) However the food I really appreciate the mix (fusion) of dishes and trying to create something new, I can't give it 5 stars on execution. It is ambitious task but the basic ingredients underlying should be immaculately delivered. Pulpo was very chewy :/ chipirones with onion rebozado and salsa were really nicely matched! Tiramisu was ok, needed more biscuit and coffee imho. Overall very good experience but not excellent. Which it could be easily considering the service.

International airport
Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport, also known as Santiago de Compostela Airport, is the main gateway for travelers completing their Santiago trails from various starting points. It offers domestic and international flights, connecting to several European destinations. The airport provides convenient transportation options to reach Costa da Morte, including car rentals and taxis. Additionally, it is easily accessible from the city center of Santiago de Compostela via airport bus services.
Good Airport with a modern services. The only pitti is that the water fountain is out of service. Hope this is fixed in the future. there is a bus stop that can take you along with the Camino but you surely have to book in advance in the High season. taxi has a fix fare of €23 up to 15km. No Uber (may 2025).

Small airport but assorted of different duty free shops. The food is really bad and expensive though. There were zero taxis for the waiting just arrived passengers, more than 25 people. We waited for an hour and a half!!! Not aceptable.

Small and very well organised airport, with duty free, a few places where you can eat (not very many), water fountain, no smoking place inside the terminal. You may have to wait in line at check-in (see Video) if several flights depart at close times, but even so, it is very well organized and you will not miss your flight.

Airport as such seems to be a new one and to be well organised. It quite small, but serves the purpose. There are couple of shops, cafeteria inside, as well as children’s playground. The downside is that seating is lacking when there are more flights.

The airport features two gates and a few dining options both before and after security, including a sushi bar, La Pausa restaurant, and Caffriccio cafe. There's also a store called Diver's offering various products and souvenirs.
One of the many beautiful and peaceful small airports of the world. Single digit gate numbers.

Arrived early, customs were easy and the customs officers were friendly. The return was difficult with a 2h58 delay. The airport is quite small so you don't need to arrive 3 hours in advance; 1h30-1h45 is plenty for this location.

While A Coruña Airport may be small and modest, it’s efficient and gets you quickly into the heart of the city without hassle. And that’s the real reward—A Coruña itself. With its breathtaking coastal views, rich history, and welcoming atmosphere, the city more than makes up for the airport’s simplicity. If you’re looking for a destination where convenience meets charm, flying into A Coruña is definitely worth it. 🌊✈️

I fly here every year to visit family and EVERY.SINGLE.YEAR at least one of our suitcases is missing. This is not this airport's fault, but AENA's (the company that manages airports in Spain, which operates well below the level.of a third world country). However, LCG should have a better system to deal with the lines of people reporting lost luggage . It''s currently midnight, there are around 15 people in line, I've been waiting for 30 mins, and the line is barely moving.
Maria C — Google review
A small compact airport which is okay however the bus you need to take to get there from the city centre (A4) is quite unreliable so make sure you have a decent transport app to be on top of your plans.

Extremely unprofessional and unprepared staff at check-in. They seem to be operating multiple airlines and have absolutely no idea what they’re doing. My experience was with an IBERIA representative who could not speak a word of English and had no understanding of international travel procedures. I was flying from A Coruña to London via Madrid with a tight connection, and she refused to print my boarding pass for the second leg of my journey. As a result, I almost missed my connecting flight — even though my bags were checked through to London. Very disappointing service and a complete lack of professionalism.

Small airport but nice and quiet, only around 10 flights a day, no queue through security, and staff spoke very good English. Few food choice and duty free. Drinking facilities near each toilet. What more do you need from an airport.
Gary F — Google review
A small airport that provides a fast travel experience. The airport is very clean and the duty-free shop provides a good range of products. The staff are friendly and helpful. The airport is a short distance from the main area of Vigo. The security control is fine to pass through and they provide assistance. The experience with the check-in is dependent on the airline. Unfortunately, ours was very bad, but this was not the airport's fault. It is easy to get to gates and information on boards is useful. A good small airport.

positive: nice small and convenient airport! negative: behave of ryanair staff extremely rude and targeting bag size over charges to an extreme level. And inefficiency of passport control, too slow and manual, expect 30min waiting when arriving form UK, 30min it there is only one flight!
Cláudia A — Google review
It is a small airport but with a great customer service and comfortable areas. Most of the cafes and stores are in the boarding zone.

Small nice clean airport! 20 minutes away from downtown, $25 or so taxi fares

It is a nice and small airport. One of the main advantages os it is that you have much more time as going from the entrance through the security check and to the boarding door it shouldn't take you longer than 10 minutes. Forget about the stress of huge airports. It also has all the things you might need from a bar to car rentals. Really nice airport.

Bright and clean, small(er) airport with a few cafes and shops. The only long lines were at the check-in. Excellent gift shop with many Galician specialties for last minute souvenirs. Rental car drop-off could not be closer!

There is a shuttle bus to the city center just in front of the airport. The service is every 30 mini, 1,4 Euro. The bus doesn’t accept the credit card, only accept less than 10 euro note. Here is the time table!
