Museums
Specialty Museums
Museo de Baler, located in Baler, Aurora, Philippines, is a cultural institution that serves as a custodian of the town's rich historical heritage. It offers visitors an immersive experience through its diverse collection of artifacts, paintings, and ethnic exhibits that depict the region's cultural evolution. The museum is particularly renowned for its portrayal of Baler's significant role in the Philippine Revolution and the Siege of Baler.
Located in the heart of Baler in the province of Aurora Province, the Museo de Baler is much more than a local museum — it’s a gateway into pivotal moments of Philippine history and of the region’s cultural heritage. The museum façade itself features a “cold cast” mural created by renowned Filipino sculptor Toym Imao (son of National Artist Abdulmari Asia Imao) which depicts key historical moments of Baler. Baler stands on the Pacific coast and its history includes Spanish colonization, missionary activity, indigenous interactions (including Aeta communities), and later, the advent of Filipino national identity. The museum helps anchor that heritage in a tangible form, making the town’s past accessible to visitors and scholars alike. The museum is located in the town proper, so easily accessible from Baler’s main hub; no special transport required if you are staying in town. Visiting Baler without understanding its historical weight is like skipping a chapter in its story. The museum brings context to the land, the town, and its place in Philippine national history. The Siege of Baler, for instance, is a dramatic event that many visitors might pass by unless they stop and reflect. You’ll appreciate more why the province is named “Aurora”, how President Quezon is linked to this place. These connections make the surroundings more meaningful — not just “a nice beach town,” but a place with layered identity. It offers a tranquil cultural interlude After waves, sun, and nature, stepping into the museum offers a slower pace, shade, and a chance to reflect. For families, couples or solo travellers, it’s a nice balance to outdoor adventure. To sum it up, when you’re in Baler and exploring Aurora Province, the Museo de Baler is worth the stop — it grounds the locale in its rich past, offers a calm and reflective space, and adds a dimension to your trip beyond just the coast and waves.
Airese — Google review
During our visit to Museo de Baler, we opted to stay outside the museum due to the entrance fee, which we found a bit steep. However, the exterior of the museum is quite impressive, showcasing intricate wood carvings and a well-maintained garden that adds to its charm. The surrounding area is peaceful, making it a pleasant spot to relax and appreciate the architecture. While we didn't enter the museum, the ambiance and the historical significance of the place were still evident, and we enjoyed our time exploring the grounds.
Tin L — Google review
Complete the walking tour of Baler's centro by visiting the Museo de Baler. Either come early or late. The volume of people taking solo and group pictures of the museum facade is exhausting.
K S — Google review
If you want to have a quick look about Maria aroura, just go in this place!
Gizelle D — Google review
It was a very good experience to know about Baler and Aurora and also about Commonwealth President Manuel L. Quezon. It's a simple and small museum but full of history and some priceless collections. Recommended to visit when you are in Baler.
Elmer S — Google review
You can see here Baler's piece of history. Lots of artifacts and stories within the museum walls. They have a Php100 entrance fee which can give you access to other historical sites in town. The place is fully airconditioned and situated in Quezon Park. Worth the visit when you come to Baler.
Efren Z — Google review
The Place is so informative, Inside the museum, you can see artifacts , and the history of baler during and after the Spanish era. It also shows how this province become famous for its historical sites and it's Natural Rock formation.
Angelito ( — Google review
Entrance fee is 100 pesos per head, quiet pricey. But once you get a ticket, Maria Aurora's house is included in the package. I'd give the museum a 5/5 because all of the art are VERY AMAZING. I like that it's all placed in each corner and it gives a lively vibe. I just wish there's more art inside I was looking for more cos it's so pleasing to my eyes. Great artists! It's always nice to spend a day in art museums when travelling to other places. Because we get connected to the origin of the place and that's something way more of a souvenir. Recommended!

Sights & Landmarks
Ermita Hill, situated in Barangay Zabali, Baler, is a historic site that commemorates the survival of families who sought refuge on the hill during a devastating tsunami in 1735. The hill offers sweeping views of the bay and features informational plaques and a shrine called 'Tromba Marina' at its foot.
A tourist spot in baler with a history dating back from when a tsunami hit the town of baler where a family went up in these high hills to take refuge. Just an ordinary tourist spot where you can take pictures and viewdecks to view the whole town of baler.
Lawrence V — Google review
Enjoy the nature, air breeze and the serene view at the top of the hill.
Loanna — Google review
The uphill climb can be tiring, but the experience at Ermita Hill is definitely worth it. Your trip to Aurora wouldn’t be complete without including this in your itinerary.
Eden — Google review
Looks like a teacher’s camp. They had entrance fee worth 15 pesos. Many store and picnic area. You can see the sceneric view of whole Baler, Aurora. Same like when you are in Tagaytay City.
Alexander C — Google review
Up the hills are different viewing points. It’s surprising to discover that a few meters apart and the sea breeze changes. The best point is at the Kapihan ng Ermita. Soft cool breeze caresses you as you indulge on a cool cup of iced peanut butter coffee! Excellent coffee, by the way. Brewed Kalinga coffee with a tasty flavor of home-made peanut butter.
Luc — Google review
You learn a bit of history at Ermita Hill when families sought refuge to this high land after a tsunami hit Baler in the 1700s. Statues reenacting a family climbing uphill is a good tourism photo spot.

Dicasalarin Cove is a privately owned beach nestled in a tranquil bay, surrounded by rugged cliffs and offering walks to a nearby lighthouse. The area boasts the Costa Pacifica Baler hotel, which provides beachfront accommodation with amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, delectable dining options, and 24/7 room service. Additionally, guests can enjoy surfing lessons and access various tourist spots like Sabang Beach and Ditumabo Mother Falls.
The place is so nice, you won't regret going! This is a must go place in Aurora if you're visiting Baler. Can only be accessible by boat ride and, around 45 minutes, travel time. The restaurant and private rooms are also closed due to the low number of people visiting the place. The good thing is, we ended up having the entire cove for our pleasure.
Rock S — Google review
the cove itself is wonderful but it is privately owned and restricts access to the beach which is a public domain. you have to pay 350 pesos/person to stay there. the beach is not ideal for swimming too, a bit rocky. there's a river on the side where it is also nice to swim in clean clear and cold fresh water. this is currently only accessible by boat. used to be accesible by car but road is also privately owned, so unless you know the land owner it's a no go. there's a scenic light house which you can hike with 100+ cemented stairs, the view there is really outstanding! be careful with the cliffs as the rail guards are all rusted and destroyed
Marlon C — Google review
Update (March 2022): There are a few new developments like the reception hut and landscaped spaces. Still a beautiful, secluded beach area. Make sure your vehicle is ready to climb a narrow, one-way road across a mountain. Entrance fee: Php 250.00 per person. Original post: This made our Baler trip totally worth the long drive. Beautiful even on a cloudy day.
J M — Google review
It's a hidden paradise so hidden it's not easy to spot and not to mention a bit of one lane driving up and downhill experience that would give some people a bit of pressure before a rewarding breath taking view. The beach , the hidden mansion of artist village plus the light house all in one can be reached after that long and traumatic drive. Don't forget to reach the area before 5 pm cause there are no lights and it's a one lane drive . They usually let a group go up or down one at a time. Last but not least plan ahead to maximize the time going there maybe 2 hours within the area. At the end of that road it's worth the trip of a very private beach hidden within Baler that you won't regret.
CC L — Google review
this place is very perfect if you wanted to unwind. if you will visit here make sure to bring your family, friends or even your love one's it may be a tiring and long travel but it's worth travelling because of the ambiance of the Dicasalarin Cove was enough to wash away all the stress and exhaustion. so what are you waiting for? call your friends and families, pack your things and enjoy the holiday season 😁
Elbert G — Google review
This place holds a special place in me since this is where my boyfriend proposed. We were Cube guests so we got discount. Regular entrance fee is 300/head. We ate at the resto near the parking at base of the mountain (entrance is on top just before pag-asa center). Free cottage but u can just sit literally anywhere. We had the whole place all to ourselves as we arrived at 3pm and stayed until 5pm. I couldn't explain the majestic but eerie feeling that we were the only guests in the place. We barely swam bc the current was a little strong. Each angle is ig-worthy! Extremely peaceful with just the sound of nature in the background. The beach has fine white sands but has scattered stones and rocks as well especially when nearing the river until the base of the lighthouse entry point. 175 steps going to the sundial type lighthouse. The place is naturally beautiful, an isolated area that can still be improved.
Einz — Google review
Going here was not easy. Motorbike will bring you here that will cost you 150 each entrance is 300/pax but it was all worth it! Climbing those stairs going to the lighthouse though strange yung lighthouse nla but still so happy when you're on top! Plus going the cave too sad we're not able to swim in the cave because that time was high tide. A must place to visit if few hours from Baler.
Irish D — Google review
Nice place. It's a little difficult to get to, especially by small car or tricycle. I have a pick up truck son I had no problem. There is a restaurant there if you don't bring your own food. Plenty of space to chill and relax.

Nestled in the heart of Baler, Aurora, Philippines, the Doña Aurora Aragon-Quezon House stands as a testament to the rich history and culture of the region. This charming house museum was once home to Doña Aurora Aragon-Quezon, who served as First Lady from 1935 to 1944 alongside her husband, President Manuel L. Quezon.
Beautiful old rustic house in the middle of town. Entry was free as we already paid when we went to visit the Museo de Baler earlier. Very interesting things inside. A must see when visiting Baler.
JOHN C — Google review
We had free ticket after visiting the Museo De Baler. After we visit the church we went here and it was breezy that time. I just hope they were able to preserve it like the Malacañang of the North in Ilocos.
GJ O — Google review
The ancestral house of Doña Aurora Aragon- Quezon is just across the Baler Church. So to know more about the history of this town, I went to visit it too. This house is just the replica of the original house and reconstructed on the same site. It was turned into a museum and now it houses some memorabilias and paintings.
Travel T — Google review
The Doña Aurora Aragon-Quezon House is well-maintained. Across the house is the historical Baler Church. The tickets you will pay worth 50 pesos will also cover the entrance fee of the Museo De Baler behind the church. Surrounding the museum is the Quezon Park which offers ample space for picnics. There are vendors selling pasalubong items, bukato, and rice cakes near the Red Cross office across the park.
K S — Google review
Step through time when you visit this place. It is quite historical and shows the early Philippine culture, especially on how we live by during those years. The house and the items inside are well preserved and will definitely stand out for a long time. Good for kids to drop by as it is also educational.
Efren Z — Google review
The preserved house of the late First Lady of Manuel Quezon offers a glimpse into history. While it lacks detailed and special information, it still provides an interesting visit.
Boylabo “ — Google review
Small old traditional house lots of old stuff very historical
Valerie C — Google review
Very small venue will cost you 100p to have a look but its worth it if you have a half hour spare and its close to Quezon park and Museo de Baler.

Cool rock formations, beautiful scenery. I suggest visiting the beach by summer.

The rock formations are nice! But rocks are too sharp if u want to swim
Witny ( — Google review
Nice beach but very rocky, it has many rock formations and islets. I just don't know the good spot for swimming so we just took photos.
Rahsja S — Google review
The rock formations are the main attraction here. The beach isn't suitable for swimming, but there's a pool that you can swim in placed beside the beach.
Michael V — Google review
During our recent visit to Diguisit Beach in Baler, Aurora, we were greeted by a rainy day. Despite the overcast skies, the beach's unique charm remained undeniable. The Aniao Islets, rugged and weathered by time, stood resilient against the waves, offering a striking contrast to the gray backdrop. The pebbled shore, though softened by the rain, retained its allure, inviting exploration. The surrounding cliffs and rock formations, sculpted by nature, added to the beach's dramatic scenery. Even in the rain, Diguisit Beach showcased its raw beauty, making it a memorable destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.
Tin L — Google review
Viewing these amazing rock formations makes one wonder what happened millions of years ago to form these cliffs and crawling rocks. They are awe-inspiring at close range but appear less astounding in the photos.
Luc — Google review
One of the few beaches in baler that have a astounding rock formations. Definitely in awe of these formations of rocks along the coastline of degusit beach.

For those seeking a memorable and refreshing getaway, Diguisit Beach is a destination that will leave a lasting impression. Its captivating rock formations and the mesmerizing presence of the distant lighthouse make it a place where nature's beauty meets history's charm. Whether you're a nature lover, a history enthusiast, or simply someone in search of tranquility, Diguisit Beach is an absolute must-visit. Prepare to be captivated by its wonders and create cherished memories amidst its serene and awe-inspiring landscape.

The Zabali Hanging Bridge in Baler, Aurora, is a captivating pedestrian bridge that gracefully stretches over the Tibag-Sabang River. This stunning structure not only serves as a practical crossing but also offers breathtaking views of the lush landscape and flowing waters below. It's an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts and those looking to capture the serene beauty of nature. As you stroll across this iconic bridge, you'll find yourself surrounded by vibrant greenery and a peaceful atmosphere that invites relaxation.
It was sooo scary and fun! The bridge was really high like 3 storey building! Good view cause of the lake/river. i was with a group so it was more bearable.
Joseph G — Google review
Worth visiting if you're in Baler. Near or along the way if your heading towards Ermita Hill, lighthouse. Views are good, and not a lot of people when we got there.
Ian B — Google review
Zabali Bridge in Baler, Aurora may just look like a simple bridge, but the moment you stand on it, you’ll realize how stunning the view really is. From here, you can see the vast ocean on one side and the lush mountains on the other—it’s like a perfect frame of what Aurora is known for: waves and nature. Crossing the bridge feels refreshing, especially with the sea breeze hitting your face. Many locals and travelers stop by not just to pass through but to take photos or simply admire the scenery. It’s a calm spot that gives you a pause before heading to the busy surf spots or town proper. For me, Zabali Bridge is more than a crossing—it’s a viewpoint that captures the natural beauty of Baler in one glance. Definitely worth a quick stop when you’re in Aurora.
Cyril T — Google review
This is just a hanging bridge-cable suspended, but worth the experience for those who doesn't know what a hanging bridge is. Worth the visit for those who want to know what a hanging bridge is. The bridge has souvenir shops at its one end.
Joshua L — Google review
My recent visit to the Zabali Hanging Bridge was a mixed experience. The location offers a breathtaking view, making it a promising destination for nature enthusiasts and photography enthusiasts alike. However, I couldn't help but feel concerned about the safety of the bridge during my visit. Let's start with the positives: The panoramic view from the Zabali Hanging Bridge is nothing short of spectacular. It provides a unique vantage point to admire the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The lush, verdant landscape, complete with a meandering river and distant hills, is a sight to behold. The bridge's location provides ample opportunities for capturing stunning photographs, which leads me to the highlight of our visit. We had the privilege of having our pictures taken by a local child who exhibited an impressive talent for panoramic shots. It was evident that this young photographer had an innate understanding of the bridge's best angles and the surrounding landscape. Their ability to compose shots surpassed our own, resulting in a collection of captivating photographs that truly captured the essence of the place. However, my enthusiasm was tempered by concerns about the bridge's safety. The bridge's structural condition appeared less than reassuring, and the sense of stability while crossing was not entirely comforting. While I understand that hanging bridges can have an element of thrill, this seemed to veer into discomfort and unease. The creaking and swaying of the bridge were disconcerting, and some parts of the walkway showed signs of wear and tear. It's essential for both visitors and local authorities to take safety seriously to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
Christine N — Google review
Superb place. A must visit in Baler.
Joevee B — Google review
Parking fee: Php 20.00. It was nice crossing this bridge. We enjoyed the surrounding scenery and the thrill of crossing this shaky bridge. It looks safe though. There are lots of souvenir stores at the northern end and some snacks.
J M — Google review
This hanging bridge is a great place to conquer your fears. This hanging bridge provides a thrilling feel as you walk across. For people with motiom sickness, you could feel dizzy since this bridge feels like being swayed by the wind. The waves of the river makes you feel like the bridge is being pulled towards one side. The locals are friendly and some kids are willing to take photos for you. There are souvenir shops on both sides of the place. Donations for the maintenance of the bridge are appreciated. Also, prepare 20 pesos for the pay parking.

Aniao islets or Diguisit Rock Formations. 20/head entrance fee and free parking. Just along the road of Brgy. Zabali. Nothing much to do but photo ops while appreciating nature. There are tiny starfishes and fishes as well in between the large rocks where tiny pools are formed. Rocks are slippery and sharp.

Diguisit Falls is a stunning multi-layered waterfall located near the main road to Diguisit Beach and rock formations, directly facing the Pacific Ocean. It features mini falls beside the road and steep falls along the highway. Visitors are advised to apply mosquito repellent before heading up the falls and to be cautious when climbing on rocks. The area is known for its beauty and offers a refreshing swimming experience, making it a nice place to visit for those seeking relaxation and adventure.
Beautiful! Refreshing to swim here, just be extra careful.

Surely you will never miss seeing this natural landmark, being clearly visible from the road. It is located just opposite of Diguisit beach, between the famous Dimadimalangat Rock formations and Aniao islets. Lacking any established trail, we just followed the path of those who already climbed ahead. The trail is rocky, and we’re thankful that we arrived on dry weather, for surely it will be slippery and wet during rainy days. The water comes from the Diguisit River at the mountain tops, and as expected, the waters are so cold. The falls actually have other tiers upstream, but the imposed ban on climbing further up, we were unable to see it. Unlike other falls, the Diguisit Falls continue to flow even on harsh dry months, making it an ideal swimming destination, especially during summer. The site lacks any comfort rooms or dressing rooms, you need to go to a nearby beach resort just to take a shower.

Sabang Beach is a laid-back coastal area known for its strong waves, making it a great spot for surfing. The beach offers a peaceful atmosphere and is popular among surfers looking to catch some of the best waves in Asia. Visitors can stay at Costa Pacifica Baler hotel, which provides beachfront accommodation with amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, delicious food options, Wi-Fi access, and 24/7 room service.
Not a surfer at all, but our 2 1/2 hr. stay has made me appreciate this beach. We stopped and parked at the Pacifico hotel and then went to stretch our legs down Sabang beach which has a good length of about 3 miles uninterrupted walk. There are hawkers trying to entice you with their trinkets , but I’m really pleased to not see dreaded souvenirs shops clustered on the shore lines. I hope the DOT will not allow it. All I saw were people, children and surfers really enjoying the waters, or walking the black sandy to grainy beach. It was a pleasurable moment.
Tollets T — Google review
I recently had a great experience at a beach that turned out to be a perfect getaway. The first thing I noticed was how clean and peaceful the place was—it wasn’t crowded at all, which made it feel even more relaxing. The waves were gentle and ideal for beginner surfers like me who are just learning the basics. There were beach watchers on duty who made sure to remind tourists to stay cautious, especially since there are areas where the water gets deeper unexpectedly. Their presence made us feel safe and cared for. Convenience was another big plus—there were plenty of convenience stores nearby, along with some bars and the local market, which made grabbing snacks and supplies super easy. One of the best parts of the trip was collecting some driftwood along the shore and setting up a bonfire at night. It made the whole experience even more memorable. Overall, it was a peaceful and fun day at the beach, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet spot to surf, relax, and enjoy nature.
Ailyn G — Google review
We took an early morning walk at Sabang beach on Father's Day. We were surprised to see early risers too. Everyone wanted to swim while the sea was calm. There were kids playing on the sand and first time surfers having lessons. And some, making the most of their short stay in Baler and start the day early. We had our 3km walk along the shoreline and went swimming later that day. The beach was clean and really nice. No corals on the sea floor just fine sand. It is safe for swimming and surfing.

Sabang Beach in Baler, Aurora, offers a clean and picturesque coastal experience. The beach boasts fine gray sand and clear waters, making it ideal for surfing enthusiasts and casual beachgoers alike. Notably, the local community plays a significant role in maintaining the beach's cleanliness. Efforts include regular coastal cleanup drives, such as the one held on January 10, 2023, where over 200 volunteers, including military personnel, local officials, and students, participated in cleaning activities along Sabang Beach. These initiatives reflect the residents' commitment to preserving the beach's beauty and promoting environmental awareness. Whether you're looking to surf, swim, or simply relax by the sea, Sabang Beach provides a well-maintained and welcoming destination.

Not as I expected with this well-known beach. ❌️ A few trash in the beach and sidewalk ❌️ Public commute going here is a bit of a hassle. ❌️ Side walk is not as lively as other famous beaches like Puerto Galera and Boracay. There are some abandoned property. However, there are a few things I liked: ✅️ Serene and peaceful beach. ✅️ Scenery of the Sierra Madre mountain and the long distance of Sabang Beach is amazing! ✅️ Water is clean. Not crystal clear, but at least no visible trashes. ✅️ No jellyfish sightings so far (today is June 1) ✅️ People here are polite I'll definitely go back here some other time. 😊✨️

Sabang beach is beyond my expectations. It's clean and perfect for beginner surfers.

It was summer 2017. We stayed at Pacific Waves Inn, about 100 meters from the beach. The beach was really made for surfing. The waves are strong yet gentle. Surfers, young and old, could go farther from the shore because the water is shallow. Even if you are not fond of surfing, you can still enjoy the beach as there are lots of things to watch. You can even do other things like yoga, kite flying, or just walk around the beach line. Local surfing trainers are kind and you can haggle their rate. We paid 300 pesos for an hour of surfing lessons. This included the surfboard. My friends paired with each other to share the fee. Half an hour of surfing will definitely tire you. Some of the trainers have short temper, probably because some people are just naughty or because of multiple training sessions. Over all, in the morning or in late afternoon, you can never be wrong with Sabang beach.

Way lesser crowd compared to Elyu and Liwliwa (month of May). Air was a bit colder too and less humid compared to those two as well, including Pampanga and Manila. Didn't know that Baler is such a good alternative as a summer destination (see last pic showing 3PM temps from Windy app).

Restaurant
Kusina Luntian is a well-loved local dining spot known for its unassuming appearance and authentic Filipino cuisine. The restaurant provides an immersive experience by serving dishes on banana leaves or coconut bowls, encouraging diners to eat with their hands. A must-try is the Paco Salad and Wapang-wapang na Liempo, highly recommended for visitors to Baler.
Our favorite resto in Baler. When you want healthy delicious food with a Filipino vibe and eco-friendly ambiance then go here for their banana leaf dining experience. We love their paco salad with sweetened spicy vinegrette, buttered shrimp, grilled chicken and grilled porkchop. Their price is affordable and location is a few steps away from the beach. A must visit when you go to Baler.

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4 out of 5 stars) Kusina Luntian is easy to locate on Google Maps, and there’s plenty of parking available — free street parking or paid parking right across if the street spots are full. The ordering system is well-organized, and food is served quickly, especially during non-peak hours. We dined in the traditional seating area where you sit on the floor — shoes off. It was a unique and enjoyable experience to eat kamayan-style (with hands) while sitting on a mat. Very relaxing and authentic vibe. The food was delicious, especially the pako salad — fresh and flavorful. I just hope they add a handwashing station near the dining area so guests won’t have to step outside to wash their hands. Overall, highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and relaxing Filipino dining experience! 🌿🍽️

What’s good: Food is super great. Their pako salad is fresh and delicious. Salted egg is fresh and isn’t too salty. What’s not: Place isn’t very comfortable. Floor cushions could have help some with back problems. There were no bugs and air circulation is pretty nice at the time (night) but it could be a bit humid during the day. Price-wise: you have to pay more than usual or as expected with similar set-ups. Service: Order and pay on your own. Cash only. Food takes time since they only cook the dishes upon order. I imagine waiting longer when there would be more people around. Also, there were no tomatoes available. They didn’t offer any substitutions, just told us there are none and we don’t have a choice.

Kusina Luntian is one of the best restaurants we tried in Baler. Just a heads-up: you eat with your bare hands here, on a banana leaf, as they don't provide utensils. Fortunately, they do have a wash area where you can clean your hands before and after eating. One thing I hope they improve is the safety of their tables and chairs—sometimes my clothes would get caught on exposed nail heads, which could be damaging and potentially dangerous.
Edwin L — Google review
A little bit disappointed. The pako that came with the meal was sweet, felt like eating a dessert. they could have prepared it better with a more tangy vinaigrette.. I’m ok with eco friendly, but the banana leaf was way too small to eat on. our food took 40mins. We ordered the liempo and longganisa, it was just ok. Lastly, the nalecheng biko was just alright, but the experience was tainted when they also served it in banana leaf knowing that the caramel juices will be spilling all over. Overall, it was just ok, nothing special. An experience but not worth coming back to, IMO.
Ranielle M — Google review
Employees sleeping and lounging at the front tables so your customers can't sit!? I'm older and don't want to sit on the floor. We were pointed towards a wobbly table in the back near the bar, large table already occupied. 4 mosquito bites while we were there, early afternoon, sitting on the floor!! Warm beer and the paco salad that people said was good seemed to have sugar on it?? Sweet and not to my liking.
Cliff S — Google review
Food is good as usual. You need to be prepared to wait minimum 30 mins for your food - but it's fine bec it's good. Price is fair. Took a star off bec service and demeanor of most of the staff is a bit off. They didnt update the prices in their menu board, the demeanor of the staff made it seem it's our fault? 🤷‍♀️ The person taking our order didnt seem too happy either. Perhaps it's just the heat. Overall the guests are a lot nicer than the staff. But oh well the food is good.

Ate here for two days straight, Best food experience in Baler! Tip: Never ask if there are available table and just buy your food immediately from the counter, follow the simple rules, be patient, be humble, and be friendly. - Basic rules: Remove your shoes/slippers, wash your hands, Eat by hand, and Clay-go. Worth the wait. Fresh veggies. Eye-rolling foodgasm. p.s. BURGIS AT MAAARTE LANG NA AKALA MO HARI AT REYNA ANG MAGBIBIGAY NG MABABANG REVIEW DITO. If I were to die due to oily food I would let them serve my last meal. Let’s all be grateful in life!

Yellowfin Bar and Grill

Bar & grill
Nestled just a stone's throw from the stunning Sabang Beach, Yellowfin Bar and Grill is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic seafood experience. This popular late-night spot on Buton Street boasts a charming open-air setting that invites you to unwind while savoring delicious local Filipino dishes. The grill is where the magic happens, with fresh catches like grilled squid and their signature yellow fin fish taking center stage, all served alongside rice and flavorful dipping sauces.
Great food! Best place to eat in the entire area. Enjoy the music and drinks while you wait on the fresh to order food.
Joe B — Google review
Not a lot od options to eat around the area and this one was opened, filled with people and there's a live band. We got the pork bbq and the sizzling blue marlin with mango shake and a few beers. The blue marlin was good. The pork bbq came with 6 sticks in a serving so that was surprising but the meat was so tough and gummy. Service was BAD. At the counter, they seem to be in disarray. We went up to find a table and a lot of the dirty tables has been left uncleaned. They dont seem to be understaffed. There's about 5 people at the counter when we arrived. I helped myself with the utensils and tissue at the cabinet. We were served our beer without the opener. The staff just left and I went ahead and checked the other empty, dirty tables for it. It could improve but I don't know whos in charge and if the owner cared.

Prices are extremely reasonable, serving sizes are big. Food is fresh, and cooked upon order. Expect a long wait though especially during weekends and holidays.
Ian B — Google review
My friend ordered a lot since we thought the 'for sharing' is for 2 people. 😅 Ordered 8 dishes: Blue marlin steak, yellowfin sinigang, liempo, chicken feet, chicken bbq, tortang talong, kangkong, mango pako and of course, rice. Also ordered mango lakatan sago which I wish they served chilled or had ice, so the meal is more than 3k. My fave from the dishes is the Blue Marlin steak. There is no rice platter, sad. Also, no ketchup for the tortang talong. 🫣 Overall, we were overwhelmed by the amount served esp. the yellowfin sinigang. The food was good, the band set the vibes, waiting is about 30min, and the service is actually not that bad.
Yzza E — Google review
Conveniently located in front of our hotel, we gave it a try despite bad reviews. We came at 6pm and we are second in line. The place is not yet packed and we got seated immediately at the 2nd floor. It wasn’t too intimidating to order as the menu was organized. We got ourselves the medium sized tuna and sizzling blue marlin, all so fresh and in very satisfying serving. The paco salad with mango pairs well with the grilled fish. As for the service, it was, as they say within 30-45mins when there is no line. No complaints. Overall, the experience is good. We were surpised to see a lot of people in queue when we were about to leave. I guess we just got lucky with the timing.

Fantastic place to have dinner. Love music and great service. Too happy and forgotten to take more pictures. 😁

Good food, good selections, and decent prices. Cool outdoor atmosphere but which unfortunately also included a tiny cockroach living in the table under our food. The food itself was not extremely clean either, some debris in our rice. Overall good especially given the somewhat limited options in the area

Yolly's Ihaw Ihaw & Seafood Resto

Mentioned on

Restaurant
If you're on the hunt for delicious yet budget-friendly meals, Yolly's Ihaw Ihaw & Seafood Resto is a must-visit. This charming eatery offers a delightful array of fresh seafood at prices that won't break the bank, especially when compared to beachfront dining options. While some dishes like lobster may not be as fresh as hoped, other offerings shine brightly—like their ginataang gulay and a unique take on Igado that's less sour than traditional versions.
best place to go if you are craving Filipino comfort food. They have an extensive number of viands to satisfy everyones palette at super friendly price.

First time i spent php4k in a carinderia. Would have been better spent at a nicer place with better seafood. All of the seafood we ordered have been pre cooked and very dry. When ordering they will reheat by smothering in oil and garlic.

It's like carinderia type they offer eat all u can for 300 pesos only
Valerie C — Google review
Good food, a bit pricey Servings became smaller than before. Did not try the buffet since we are not that too hungry. No other choice of resto if you want to go outside and if you want to try and roam around the city of Baler. There's another resto beside, but as we came, no foods on their cater area.😅
Riz F — Google review
Typical turo turo pero price is steep for what it is. Pang tourist ang pricing even the regular ulams.
Facilitators C — Google review
Food set is not really that good. Everything's ordinary and viands are those we typically cook at home. The place is so crowded. The buffet table is poorly located by the restaurant entrance making it too crowded for both customers going inside and those lining up for the food. Seafood and other grilled dishes can be ordered seperately.
Joseph B — Google review
Food tastes ok, but the serving is too small. Service could be way better (friendlier, more responsive). Place is clean. There's no parking, we had to walk a long way from the nearest vacant lot.
J M — Google review
The food is OK and are overpriced. Don't get decieved by the seafoods in front of the stall, they're not part of the "unli-seafoods". If you want to get the best value for your money, go for Kusina Luntian.

The food is amazing. We had lunch and dinner there. Good service (depending on the number of customers at that time of course). Free parking lot. We love the drink there, can't remember all of the name, you can show them my photos or you can order East Club, my favorite cocktail

Enjoyable meal with its wide selection and friendly service. Got the: - Kubli Rice: Good amount of seafood, tasty rice. - Calamares: Tasty, and not overly battered or rubbery. - Seafood Gambas: Good kick to it! - Shrimp and Garlic Pizza: Loved the strong garlic taste, would have liked a bit more shrimp. - Buko Shake: Overly milky. Service was friendly and topnotch. Kitchen was quick. Prices were reasonable. Ambiance was casual. Place was breezy. Overall a great spot for a good meal.

Dinner in Kubli – A Taste of Home If you're ever in Baler, don't miss this local gem. The food is delicious and affordable, offering a true taste of Filipino cuisine. Whether you're a local or a visitor, it's a must-try spot that captures the essence of Filipino flavors.

My friends and i had a quick stop in Baler and we had our late lunch here. The place was easy to find and has ample al fresco seating. The food serving was good for sharing and reasonably priced. Though we ordered mostly pork it was best paired with rice.
Pauie P — Google review
Thought I'd gone to Gagay's but was in Kubli... Gagay's is upstairs in the same building. Also doesn't accept credit cards. 🤨 The green papaya salad was a perfect combination of heat and acid!! The all meat pizza was huge and delicious. Baking sheet size, super thin crust, nicely flavored sauce and it was cooked just right. 😋 The stuffed squid has potential for greatness as well but the stuffing was a pasty mess - mostly bread or flour with little seafood or flavoring. Alcohol drink menu is full of sweet syrupy drinks. Plenty of shot options but no regular drinks on the menu and beer was cool but not cold. Overall pleasantly surprised. Dress for mosquitoes or used bug spray. Got 3 bites even with a huge fan blowing on us.
Cliff S — Google review
Best restaurant in Baler. I can’t get enough of their ceviche and papaya salad. The stuffed squid was good too. On our second visit, we tried their barbeque and sizzling tofu and the serving was quite generous for two people. The vibe of the al fresco dining area is nice while the table inside is more comfortable during lunch. Service is also fast and the staff are friendly.
Kat C — Google review
Kubli on its redemption arc and one of the best restos you can find around Sabang beach area. The food was good enough for sharing. Highlight was the ceviche/kinilaw that was fresh and citrusy. The lechon kawali with ampalaya atsara was a great pairing. A miss on the seafood gambas and kebabs but can be improved imo.
Alecs A — Google review
We visited the restaurant on Mother’s Day, and it was understandably busy, which led to a bit of a wait for our orders. However, the staff thoughtfully served cupcakes while we waited, which was a nice touch 😋 The food was absolutely delicious—my favorite was the tokwa’t baboy. We chose to sit in the outdoor area, which had a pleasant vibe, though it wasn’t the best choice on a warm summer evening 🥵

Baler Surfer Grill, situated at the Baywalk Area along Sabang Beach, is a popular outdoor dining venue offering a diverse menu to satisfy your post-exploration or post-surfing hunger. The restaurant is known for its unique dishes like Bulalo BBQ and Tinopak, as well as refreshing drinks such as Kidja-Ponkan Juice. What sets this place apart is the iconic Volkswagen-turned-grill that adds to its charm.
A must-have in your Baler food trip itinerary. The food is nothing but delightful. Every dish is oozing with flavor especially when coupled with their special sauce. With its beachfront view, you can definitely feel the breeze while seeing the beautiful scenery, and hearing the relaxing sound of waves of the beach.

It's a short walk from Costa Pacifica, a nice hotel. . A fantastic resto. I had the chicken it was very yummy and served fast. The staff was excellent. They don't wait tables, you need to go to the counter. They are very friendly, as they they laughed at all my dumb jokes. The whole environment is spectacular. Nice food, nice people, great wind and surf. What more do you need?
Adam R — Google review
First time dining here at Baler surfer grill and it was memorable. The food tastes good for the price but the place is less of what we expected as we saw from other reviews. We thought they will grill barbeque in a volkswagon but they didn't. Still one of the best experiences though.

It used to be good but because their staff is lazy. Food is just terrible. We ordered the chicken and liempo, with extra Java Rice and vegetables since the chicken doesn't come with it. Then they didn't have available liquor and just beer. But they imposed a corkage fee even if the liquor you are bringing is not in the menu. Anyhow, rules are rules so we just paid for the corkage. But what disappointed us is the food itself. The grill is just right out in the front and yet they served the rice, veggies and meat without heating them. We had to ask them to heat it because obviously, they do not have the initiative to do so. The pork came out again not even warm, and it tasted like pork frozem for a long time, smelled like a wet dog. The chicken is okay but still not warm. Total waste of money. All the staff did was just to stay in the cashier area dealing with nothing when customers are asking for their assistance. Is this how lazy this people are? Next time, if you don't want to serve, to do your job, stay home. You are of no use anyway. Will never come back here. It is all just a fad.
Anthonette M — Google review
They have a really nice selection of food that you can order. It's very delicious and satisfying. We ate there for lunch and there was not many people then so the food came out pretty quickly. The portions they served are great and was very filling

This charming spot attracts a community of individuals passionate about surfing, yoga, and plant-based dining.
Great go to spot for vegetarian and vegan dishes. It's got good vibes (mainly from the decor and layout) free water, and even one of those little balance boards to play on! They often don't have things on their menu (or, the revered peanut butter and banana shake) but they have lots of options. The dishes I had were good and reasonably priced. I had to ask for no soy sauce on my second attempt at the omelette, I'd say pass on the green smoothie, an my favorite was the breakfast burrito.

The food is great, the staff are nice, and the place looks cool. However, when we ate here we had to wait at least 40 minutes for our pizza (we ordered the same thing before and it didn't take that long). When it arrived, it was punctured at the middle. It's a great experience here if you're not in a hurry.

A quaint hip place to stay in Baler. There are no air-conditioned rooms but the breeze was enough for me. You can ask for an additional fan if the wall fan just doesn't cut it. Vegetarian options. Yoga class. Enticing for many travellers.

I ordered a cappuccino, and two beef tacos. And they both looked amazing. Like something you see in a magazine. However once actually tasted it was such a disappointment. The coffee was luke warm, and had a strange taste. The tacos while beautiful to look upon, had no flavor what so ever. I don't know how they made something that looked so bright, and spicy taste so bland. But they did.
Mark S — Google review
Aside from having the BEST peanut butter coffee in the world (non acidic, creamy, frothy, no added sugar, smooth, PERFECT), they also have the nicest staff, coolest homey / chill / outdoorsy ambiance AND great regard for nature. I hope every Cafe can do what they do - incentivising people to stay in and sip their coffee, or bring their own tumbler / mug. Take out coffee cups have an additional charge so it really helps lessen the non biodegradable waste that may accumulate near the shores. That, and they introduced me to the Queen of all Peanut Butters, Nanay Pacing ❤️ If there's a place in Baler I'd put a teleport portal to, it would be this place and Bayler View Hotel.
Nessa Z — Google review
Staff were really friendly and helpful, and gave us good recommendations. The place looked amazing (very instagrammable). There were swimming gear and even games available for sale, though it would have been nice if there are also swimwear available for men. We only saw rashguards for women. We got to try Baler Brew! It was a shame that some of the desserts were unavailable when we visited. Perhaps next time then! 😀
CK H — Google review
Cozy place with books and boardgames you can actually borrow to read and play at the premises. Some beach and surfing merchandise too, if you're up to it. Food is nothing spectacular though (the pasta wasn't freshly cooked but reheated in their kept cool jars and the tiramisu wasn't special either.)
Neoli M — Google review
I discovered this place during my first Baler visit in 2014 and I've been coming here ever since. (There was a time that they're called Groundswell but I guess they went back to their original name.) The laidback surfer vibe meets an "elder" bohemian vibe akin to my Gen X sensibilities and level 😁. They're mostly vegan cuisine but it's ironic that they removed their soymilk option lately (they had it before). The sprawling grassy area outside gets converted into a hangout area, too, when there's an event or band playing outside. They also sell surfer stuff and gear. Both merch and food are Manila prices, though, so be prepared. Check out their bread and iced coffee selections. Smokers can hang out outside.

Buffet restaurant
Gerry Shan's Place is a popular spot in Baler for hungry surfers and food enthusiasts. Located at Quezon Street, Barangay 2, this restaurant offers a Chinese and Filipino-themed buffet starting at 11 in the morning. The buffet is known for its seafood-heavy selection with hints of Chinese flavors and a touch of spice. Visitors can enjoy their signature dishes along with free-flowing iced tea.
best surprise was eating here. they had a LOT of food and they all tasted good, theyre not stingy w the meats in each dish. and it's insanely affordable. a whole buffet for 250php (that is usually just one plate/order anywhere else). you can ask them to heat up your food too as they have a microwave you're able to use. they have multiple dessert options as well
Grace M — Google review
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Gerry Shan Buffet in Baler, Aurora, and overall, it was an okay experience. One of the highlights of this buffet is the wide variety of dishes to choose from. There was something for everyone, ranging from different types of meat, seafood, vegetables, and even dessert options. One aspect that stood out to me was the availability of three different kinds of soup. It was nice to have the option to start off the meal with a warm and flavorful soup. The choices provided a nice variety, catering to different taste preferences. However, there were a couple of gripes I had with the buffet. Firstly, customers are not allowed to change plates, which I found a bit inconvenient. It would have been more comfortable to have a fresh plate for each serving, especially when trying multiple dishes. Additionally, I noticed that some of the food wasn't served piping hot. Fortunately, the staff was accommodating and willing to microwave the food upon request. While it would have been preferable for the dishes to be served at the optimal temperature initially, it was nice to have the option to heat them up. Considering the price of 250 pesos, the Gerry Shan Buffet is definitely a bargain. It may not be the most exceptional buffet I've been to, but it offers a decent selection of dishes at an affordable price point. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option with a good variety of options, this buffet is worth considering.
Joseph Z — Google review
I rarely give low reviews and I try as much as possible to see anything redeeming in places I eat. That said, even for Php 250 per person, the food here is not worth the visit. Almost every one of the "20 dishes" except the non-fried desserts and soups are greasy and had that quality that was obviously reheat from a previous meal. Of note about cleanliness: they covered the food with cellophane instead of the usual metal covers for the chafing dishes. This would be admirable if it weren't for the fact that large flies managed to get inside and were having the time of their lives in the fried chicken. Now, you'd think, maybe at Php 250, you're expecting too much? Maybe it was a slow day? Maybe you're not the kind of customer Gerry Shan's place is looking for. 1. Maybe 2. We ate dinner the day after Independence Day when the tourists had zerg rushed out of Baler. 3. That's patronizing. Maybe don't insult budget travelers. Avoid this place. Obvious tourist trap.
Edrie A — Google review
Cheap buffet, Great to eat when it's dinner, of course it's cold since it's buffet but all taste great! I really loved the ensalada and the laing, the fried chicken is good and I was surprised with freshly cook calamari that night weighted I think 10 kilo of it. lot's of seafood but the shrimp so small. dessert very good. Soup is warm atleast. It's cheap so expect it to be cold dishes, don't be dumb.

There is something about Gerry Shan’s. Great value for money and their buffet has a lot to offer! Definitely a must visit in Baler!
Josephine D — Google review
One of the worst places to pay to eat. Unsanitary. Unhealthy, full of fatty and oily foods. Taste is very Trashy, not recommended, this is an obvious tourist trap for budget travellers who deserve better. The food is just utterly disgusting, this is not worth the 250 buffet, better to get a regular solo order elsewhere. Fast food is way better than this.
Kram M — Google review
Budget eat all you can. Good local selection of food and desert.
Peri P — Google review
Dined at their town proper location and for 250 pesos you get a wide array of dishes to select from. They have beef, pork, chicken, fish and even vegetables for vegetarians. Apart from the selection of main courses, they also have some sweets and fruits for dessert. The atmosphere is not that amazing since it is in the town center with a wide open door, although there are not much vehicles outside I would still prefer to eat without noise coming from the outside. Would try their beachside location some other time. All in all, for a 250 peso buffet, it's great compared to some other buffets with the same price point.

With generous portions and a laid-back atmosphere, it's an ideal spot to satisfy your cravings.
Went here on a Tuesday morning. This is one of the few places here in Baler where you can eat very early in the morning. Place is not that crowded. We ordered Tapsilog and Tortasilog. One of the best tapa I tasted. Generous servings. Too bad fried rice is not yet available and we settled for the steamed rice. Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast here.

The place is relaxing and pleasant to the eyes. We went here as a big group of 19 people and fit in perfectly. The pesto is nice and the salted caramel cheesecake is a must try! I haven't tried the coffee though but the fruit shakes are just ok, just lacks a bit of sweetness. The service is fast considering that we ordered a lot. The burgers are lovely and juicy. The salad is just ok, I prefer romaine than iceberg for this type of cafe.

My go-to cafe in Baler never misses a visit every time I go there. I love the ambiance and the drinks, and their blueberry chesecake is the best. My inspiration to learn how to bake a cheesecake during the pandemic was craving their cheesecake since we cannot go out. I tried to make one, and I was able to make it my small business. It was one of my bestsellers during my home baking journey.

Coffee was good 2. Tasted carbonara and mac and cheese - can be improved 3. Roast beef burger - wifey said it was too small for the price. 4. Blueberry cheesecake is superb! Sarap 5. Fries were perfectly cooked Overall would i go back? Yes and will recommend to others when they are in Baler. A really good spot to relax and catch up with your family or friends.

Small and cozy! Their cakes are a must try especially the cheesecakes. Pasta and their famous bread at matched perfectly. If ever you are in the province dropby this well loved community cafe. Kudos to wilson the owner

We had our vacation in Baler and was curious to try this cafe because of so many good reviews. This is located along Poblacion, Baler. Place has both indoor and outdoor seating. Menu selection is just right for a cafe. We had the Salted Caramel latte, Americano and Blueberry cheesecake. Their coffee tastes really good. The Blueberry cheesecake is one of the best that I've tried so far. Price point is just right considering the quality. The pastries and cakes are a bit cheaper compared to Metro Manila. Parking is available in front of the cafe. I'll definitely visit again if we go to Baler next time. I want to try the other drinks and cakes. Highly recommended for those craving for coffee and cake while touring Baler.

Chef Gerry's PICNIC BAY

Coffee shop
Gerry Shans, a restaurant located near the beach, offers affordable and delectable dishes. With a tempting price of 200 pesos, they provide a wide variety of meals including seafood like squid and shrimp, as well as meats such as chicken and beef. Additionally, they serve desserts, drinks, and salads to complement your dining experience. The concept of their eat-all-you-can offer for only 200 pesos is highly commendable as it presents numerous options for both meat lovers and seafood enthusiasts.
There is a lot of food to choose even desserts. If you are on a budget and want to eat plenty I recommend this place

just your usual carinderia style buffet. good for budget, but the food variety isnt that much

The place is super busy. If you are expecting a thoroughly clean establishment, this isn't the place for you. The tablecloths that I happen to take a look at while looking around were not well cleaned. It got so stuffy where we were seated as no proper ventilation is visible. I enjoyed the unlimited food though. Too bad I was feeling under the weather when we ate there.

Chef Gerry's is just near the beach side so it's very accessible. But aside from being accessible, the food is also affordable! ;-) And it taste good too! I specially liked their sweet and sour fish. Definitely worth every cent.
