Amok Sunset Restaurant & Bar

Mentioned on
7 lists
$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Amok Sunset is a popular restaurant in Nusa Penida, located in the Gamat Bay area of Sakti village. It offers a variety of lunch and dinner options, as well as a selection of cocktails to enjoy while relaxing with beautiful sea views. The highlight is the perfect sunset view, including the picturesque sight of Mount Agung on Bali island. The restaurant's unique design combines traditional Balinese Bale Bale roof with modern bamboo architecture, making it suitable for solo travelers or large groups.
This was my second visit. The food was still generally good, and both the service and atmosphere were excellent. On my previous visit, it was easy to get a table even during sunset without a reservation, but this time it was almost fully booked, and we nearly missed out. Luckily, Maybe there was a last-minute cancellation, and we got one of the best tables with a perfect view. Although we were lucky, I highly recommend making a reservation if you plan to visit around sunset.
Coucou Y — Google review
We had an absolutely wonderful evening at Amok. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel genuinely welcome with their friendly and attentive service. The cocktails were expertly crafted, and the food was both flavorful and beautifully presented, exceeding our expectations. A special highlight was the excellent pick-up service, which gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to fully enjoy the evening without worrying about driving. The detail-oriented communication through WhatsApp was also very impressive, making the entire experience smooth and well-organized. Of course, the breathtaking view was the perfect backdrop and made the evening truly memorable. We would like to sincerely thank the entire team for their effort and hospitality. We look forward to returning and highly recommend this restaurant to others.
Deren K — Google review
Incredible cocktails, very unique to the place. Price is fair when you consider where you are, the incredible service by the wait team. They all speak great English. Sunset views were epic, definitely the best place to go for sunset if you're in the west area. Food was really delicious. Price is completely worth the experience. I was gutted I only went there on my last day, otherwise I would have come back again. Thank you so much for a lovely evening 💙
Luana S — Google review
It’s a very large, beautiful, and spectacular place. You can perfectly see the sunset, and it’s a very peaceful space. The service is very kind and attentive. They play background music at the perfect volume to hold conversations without interruptions. I had the pleasure of talking with Suartana, a very friendly waiter, just like the rest of the staff. I’ll be back!
Elena C — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Such an amazing spot! The ocean views are unreal and the pool is absolutely beautiful. Food and cocktails were both really good, and the prices make sense for the location and everything you get here. The service was great too, super friendly staff. Loved chilling out on the day beds in the sun, and it’s a nice touch that they provide towels if you want to jump in the pool. Perfect place to relax, eat, drink, and catch the sunset
Landon L — Google review
I have mixed feelings about Amok Sunset Restaurant. Based on the great reviews and a recommendation from my stay I decided to make a reservation. Transport on the island can be a challenge so their shuttle service sounded perfect and it truly was. The driver arrived exactly on time and the ride was smooth. When we arrived I was impressed. The place looks beautiful with a stunning view and stylish interior. We were warmly welcomed and got a lovely table. It happened to be DJ night so the music was a bit louder but that actually added to the atmosphere. We ordered quite a bit of food and everything was served quickly which at first gave a great impression. The Pad Thai and rice were delicious. Some of the side dishes however arrived already lukewarm as if they had been waiting in the kitchen for a few minutes too long. The calamari was completely cold so we did not eat it. It took a while before anyone came by after serving and when I mentioned the calamari nothing was really done about it. Drinks also arrived late when we were almost done eating. After finishing our meal we asked several times for the table to be cleared so we could order dessert but that also took longer than it should have. Later I noticed the calamari was still on the bill which was a bit disappointing especially since it was untouched. Amok Sunset is a beautiful place with great potential. The atmosphere and setting are top tier and the staff is kind and willing but they miss sharpness in the small details. A strong manager could easily bring this place from good to exceptional. Because I believe they can improve and because the core experience was still enjoyable I am keeping this review at five stars even though two small but critical points would normally make it three.
Asco — Google review
Food - not bad (the chocolate lasagna too heavy, couldn’t finish it, shrimp not fresh, ribs not tender enough, overall tasted good, appetizer half-cooked tuna taste good, but I’m worried about the flies contaminating it) Drinks - stick to beer Pool - looks nice, didn’t go in Transport - super bumpy and narrowed road, I came here during day time, imagine when it’s dark and rainy Problem is too many flies! Just want to leave asap Felt not worthy to come
Ginia T — Google review
Unforgettable sunset spot with amazing food We came here mainly for the sunset and ended up finding top-notch food as well. I had the tuna with mashed potatoes which was excellent, and my girlfriend ordered the barramundi — beautifully prepared and really tasty. The atmosphere is incredible. You definitely need to book in advance if you want the best tables for sunset. There’s also a pool that invites you to cool off with a beer in hand, which made the whole experience even better. The staff were super friendly and recommended we try the chocolate lasagna for dessert — and wow, it was a real surprise, absolutely delicious. The only downside is the road to get there: the last 10 minutes before arriving the asphalt gets pretty rough, so you need to pay attention not to slip. We went back right after the sun set because we didn’t want to deal with that road in the dark.

Vegan Soul Cafe

Mentioned on
7 lists
Vegan restaurant
Vegan Soul Kitchen is a hidden gem in Nusa Penida, Indonesia, offering a 100% vegan menu with spectacular views of the surrounding jungle from its patio. Despite being located off the main road and requiring a short drive on gravel roads, this restaurant is highly recommended for vegans and non-vegans alike. The atmosphere is described as amazing, with fresh and tasty food that includes options like vegetable soup, chickpea avocado salad, pesto toast, and coconut curry.
I can‘t even explain how much I loved coming here to eat. I was happy to find a fully vegan restaurant on Nusa Penida, but it really exceeded every expectation. The food is incredible, especially for the unbeatable price. I came here 3 times so far in the last 3 days and the food was always great & the servers extremely nice and welcoming. Would 10/10 recommend visiting. Also my non Vegan friends enjoyed it a lot! :)
Bent P — Google review
Exceptional food!! This is one of the places that really proves that vegan food doesn’t require a compromise. Great home cooked food. Extremely well managed and run by wholesome people. Definitely the best meal of my entire bali trip, and the prices are modest too. Kudos.
Karanjot S — Google review
No frill warung with no service charge. I love meat but they got me going back for Buddha summer bowl which was a sinless treat for hot penida weather. Pandan pancake was a generous portion and not sweet. Definitely must try!
Su Y — Google review
Cosy little easily accessible cafe with an abundance of vegan options 🙌 We've come here daily, sometimes twice a day, cause it's that good 😋 (just didn't take photos each time). The portions and the prices are so generous, plus they don't charge the extra % on the final bill like most places, making it even more affordable 🙏 The staff is very friendly and the service is super quick too (I don't know how they do it!) 😍 1000% recommend 🙌
Dince — Google review
We had a sensational breakfast and the two ladies that served us were very nice people with a good heart! The portions are big with very affordable prices. Give it a try, it won't disappoint you!
Mr D — Google review
I ate here almost everyday while on Penida. It has a really extensive menu so you can easily try something new for every meal. The Gado Gado was absolutely delicious, and I loved the green smoothie as well. It’s on the main road through Penida so easy to find and good for watching the bikes and cars go by. I was often the only one sitting there for lunch, so make sure you go support them.
Tash A — Google review
Great dinner spot. I had a rainbow Buddha bowl which was delicious. Often with vegan or even salad type food you just get given a bunch of cut up vegetables and a lame dressing and that’s it but this was really super well flavored and tased amazing. I would definitely come back!
L S — Google review
Vegan Soul Café truly feels like home. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with warmth — Ibu Putu, the owner, is like a mum, and her staff feel like sisters. There’s such a loving, welcoming energy here that keeps me coming back. This is hands down my go-to vegan spot on Nusa Penida. The food is always freshly prepared, super tasty, and full of love. If you’re looking for proper, satisfying salad bowls — this is the place to get them. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the quality is honestly some of the best on the island. If you’re vegan or plant-based, you’ll feel right at home. And even if you’re not, trust me — your body (and your taste buds) will thank you for eating here.

Penida Colada Beachfront Restaurant and Bar

Mentioned on
7 lists
$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Penida Colada Beach Bar is a laid-back beach spot that offers a wide range of international cuisine and refreshing cocktails while providing stunning ocean views. It's known for its inviting atmosphere and picturesque setting, making it a popular choice among visitors to Nusa Penida Island. Whether you're looking for a casual hangout by the beach or craving some delicious food with a view, this beach bar has got you covered.
The food and drinks here are genuinely delicious, and the prices are quite affordable, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of place where you can indulge without worrying too much about the bill. The space itself is cozy and has a slightly romantic atmosphere, making it a wonderful spot for couples to enjoy a date. Soft lighting and a comfortable layout create a relaxing mood that pairs well with the seaside setting. There is also live music in the evening. While the performance wasn’t particularly impressive, it was still pleasant enough to accompany the meal and didn’t distract from the overall experience. One of the highlights is the location—the restaurant is right next to the beach, so you can always feel the fresh sea breeze and take in the coastal atmosphere while dining. It gives the whole experience a refreshing, laid-back vibe. The staff are warm-hearted and attentive, offering service that feels both professional and personal. On top of that, there are plenty of free parking slots, making it convenient for anyone driving to the restaurant. Overall, it’s a lovely spot for casual dining, a cozy date, or simply enjoying good food with the added charm of the sea.

I really enjoyed my time at Penida Colada! I came here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! The food was absolutely delicious! As a vegan, I was so happy with the wide variety of plant-based options, and the drinks were amazing too! Not only did I love the food & drinks and the relaxed atmosphere, but the view was unbeatable!! The restaurant is right in front of the beach, with stairs leading straight down so you can swim or snorkel right there in between meals/drinks! I also loved their daily 2 for 1 mocktail/cocktail happy hour and the awesome live music in the evening! (I even got to sing a song or two myself ☺️ - perfect if you love karaoke!) The staff are super friendly and helpful! I spent hours there, bringing my book and even my laptop to get work done while enjoying the beach vibes - it’s the perfect spot if you want to be productive and on holiday at the same time! Whether you sit on their comfy chairs, beanbags, or sunbeds (yes I tried them all 😄), you’ll feel so relaxed you won’t want to leave! (I didn't!) Oh and i even saw beautiful rainbows during the day! 🌈 Was looking forward to watch sunset there but unfortunately it was too cloudy that couple days i was there - but besides that, I had such an amazing time at Penida Colada during my short but sweet Nusa Penida trip, and I honestly can’t wait to come back to the island and to this restaurant again! ❤️

Thankyou so much for the amazing service. Everything was Delightful!!! DIAH was very friendly and attenative. She provided helpful information on how to get a driver to my Villa at the end of my meal. My meal included 2 (yes 2) Dragonfruit 🍌 Smoothies with added Almond Milk, Pesto Potatoes, Cauliflower BBQ wings and Fried 🍌 with Vanilla Icecream to finish it off. GRATEFUL FOR THIS MEAL! It was my first meal on the Island. THE OCEAN VIEW WAS A SWEET ADDITION, WITH THE LIVE BAND!!

Wow wee what outstanding service. For some travellers this maybe expected but for me, courtesy, respect goes a long way. Food was just amazingly displayed and super yummy. The atmosphere is wonderful with the ocean as the backdrop. Live music was next level. Absolutely brilliant. For a traveller seeking great food, and service this is a must visit. A bit more expensive than your standard restaurant but Penida Colada is not your standard. Love being here.
Paul T — Google review
A great place to eat a well established menu. We tried octopus and fish and chips, they were great. Burrito fandango was just okay I do not recommend that much. They have live music American slow country style with two guitarist. The place has also access to the beach which is a plus. Do not forget to try some cocktails also 🍹 🍸 The prices are like Bali or Ubud prices.
Michele C — Google review
Very good food and drinks! We got the chicken burgers and spaghetti and they both were very good. We told the waitress that it is our honey moon and she gave us a free dessert which was very sweet. There was live music playing which made our experience so much better.
Gai A — Google review
Lovely waterside restaurant with a great vibe and delicious, fresh local food. Attentive, professional service and live music add to the atmosphere. We had the coconut fish curry, minced tuna on lemongrass sticks, and calamari — all absolutely delicious. A really lovely spot and definitely worth a visit. However their twist on the traditional Piña Colada wouldn’t be my first choice
Gilo — Google review
Very attentive staff. Musicians were amazing. Live music most nights. Food spectacular. Aya was our waitress and very good. Higher cost for bali for food(still cheap thou) but the quality and atmosphere is so worth it.

Western restaurant
Nestled on the picturesque Nusa Penida island, Secret Penida Restaurant & Bar is a must-visit for food enthusiasts and Instagram aficionados alike. This upscale establishment offers a delectable array of international dishes made from fresh ingredients, including tantalizing options like Chicken Avocado Salad, Penida Power Salad, and couscous salad. The cafe's strategic location along the main road makes it easily accessible for travelers exploring the island's western or eastern regions.
Absolutely incredible food and atmosphere! We started our day with the build-your-own breakfast, and it was beyond delicious everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We loved it so much that we came back for a sunset dinner, and it did not disappoint. The setting was stunning, especially as the sun went down, creating the perfect vibe for a relaxing meal. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and so delicious. We ended up going to secret baked after dinner and got the almond chocolate danish and croissants to have for breakfast today and it was absolutely delicious (The best I’ve ever had). An unforgettable experience from start to finish can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend.

A very peaceful place, where every spot my eyes landed on had an even better view than the last. We were lucky to have a full moon, a beautiful sunset facing Mount Agung, chill music, a pool, and top-notch service. We even met one of the waiters, Ketut, who spoke Spanish and made us feel right at home. Oh, and the pizza, the smoothies, and the lava cake… absolutely delicious! 🌕✨
Elena C — Google review
Ordered some very delicious food for dinner, but we also had an opportunity earlier in the week to grab some items from the bakery. As well as we grab some treats for the ferry ride back to Bali. All the big kids and the pizza were absolutely unreal. the staff so friendly and so nice. Our dinner there was quite amazing. I was so hungry. I ate most of the food before I got a chance to take pictures. The cocktails were on special for happy hour and very impressive. Messi the puppy from the dive shop was the cutest. The pizzas were perfect and huge.
Derek D — Google review
Fantastic sunset beach bar, with live music at the weekend. Cocktails are yum (not talking cocktail bar in the city amazing) but for a small island, they are very good - happy hour from 5-7 so buy two get one free - the jungle one is worth a try. The food is also very nice, please get the lempang (similar to roti), you won’t regret it (unless you’re GF). Citra was a lovely waitress and was friendly and helped us with some Indonesian pronunciation (which we asked cause we knew it was lacking)
Isobelle B — Google review
We had breakfast every single day and we even came back the last night to have dinner as well. The atmosphere is great during the day: first row in front of the water, pool, tanning beds, glasses to go snorkeling available for renting… And also for dinner they have a live music group signing and making the vibe great but calmed. There is one lady in the morning shift and one man in the afternoon one that speak Spanish and made us feel so welcomed. They were the most friendly, nice and helpful :) Breakfast is great, you can either pick from the menu or create your own choosing up to 5 things from their list. Their ice latte with vanilla is one of the best ones we have ever tried!!! Pizzas are one of the best things we tried in the island so far. This is one of the best restaurants ever!!
Celia M — Google review
We were so luck last month with that candy sky sunset. The food was good even though we only order a large pizza 😁 with reasonable price. The vibes was great. There was live musim in the evening. This is the place where you can chill while enjoying the sound of the wave, or just catching a sunset.
Helen P — Google review
We came here twice, one time at lunch time and one time for breakfast. The chicken betutut for lunch was one of the better Indonesian dishes I ate surely. The breakfast combo is also nice. Coffee is delicious, and staff is friendly. The views are gorgeous and there is also a nice picturesque swimming pool.

Really yummy restaurant nearby Banjar Nyuh port. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area for lunch or breakfast. We got the French toast and avocado toast and both were delicious.

Warung Tu Pande is a popular dining spot on Nusa Penida, known for its diverse seafood offerings and renowned vegan and gluten-free menu. The cafe, located on Jalan Raya Toyapakeh, opens daily from 07:00 to 22:00 WITA. Visitors praise the exceptional food, particularly the various curry dishes, and commend the friendly service provided by Ayu. The restaurant exudes a warm family atmosphere with hospitable hosts and even pets around.
A very cozy warung with a relaxed, local vibe! The fish is incredibly fresh—so fresh, in fact, that some dishes weren’t available that day because the owner explained they hadn’t caught them. You can really taste the difference. It’s a great stop if you’re passing by on a scooter or just looking for a quiet spot to chill and enjoy authentic Balinese food. Friendly service, honest cooking, and a peaceful atmosphere—definitely worth a visit!

Warung Tu Pande is a lovely little local spot on the way to Crystal Bay 🏝️. I had the mie goreng ayam seafood and it was absolutely delicious — fresh, well-seasoned, and generously served. Prices are super fair 💰 and the whole experience feels very local and authentic 🇮🇩. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Perfect place to stop for a tasty meal before or after the beach 🌊.

Great food, authentic vibe, fair prices and lovely owner! We had dinner 3 nights in a row and enjoyed them all. Especially since Nusa Penida has a lot of places that charge tourist prices for less quality, this place is quite the opposite. We recommend 100% especially if you’re looking for good vegetarian food
Larissa H — Google review
I got the tuna curry which was really good! I got it “no spicy” because I can’t handle the heat at all, and she was so kind🤗 Great price as well. Love their menu which is very vegetarian-friendly for those that are

Located just a short scooter ride from the harbor, Penida Espresso is a charming spot on the roadside offering an array of caffeinated beverages, including options with soy or coconut milk. In addition to coffee, they serve fresh juices, smoothie bowls, and simple dishes like Avocado Toast. The neighboring Gallery provides a variety of vegan and gluten-free options.
The cutest place with super delicious food. My favorite is the parmigiana! The cutest staff! They even helped me when my scooter wouldn’t work anymore.

We went to Penida Espresso for breakfast and got panninis. This place is a nice little local place without any extra fuss. The staff were very friendly and kind. The food was okay, but simple and basic. Prices are cheap, coffee was not too strong but you can solve that with an extra shot of espresso.
Pedro P — Google review
Really cute cafe with a fantastic selection of smoothie bowls. Their coffee is ok - for me as a coffee snob. But the service is absolutely lovely and super sweet. Would recommend.
L S — Google review
I’ve been stopping by everyday on the way to my free diving course for literally 4 minutes. 3 minutes to order, pay, and get my cappuccino and 1 minute to drink it. The server has a great smile and the coffee is good. Ill keep doing it!
Henri B — Google review
Second time dining in, the staff are very nice and so is the food, from the couple of meals I've had I say you get a decent amount of food for the price, that being said the prices are pretty resonable and match other restaurants. I definitely recommend the Chicken Fried Rice and the Tempeh Cashew Noodles. As for drinks, I would go for the juices, they are served up nice and cold and taste fresh.
Fiona B — Google review
They are absolutely amazing, they have the best Ice Latte and Coffee I tasted so far in Bali/Indonesia! Also the food is super good, not expensive, totally fair price. My husband and I have been for 4 days on the island and we only ate and drank here, we didn’t even go anywhere else because we were so happy with our drinks and food 😄 also, they have on some nights Happy Hour for cocktails , 1+1 for free, and the cocktails were really good 😄 super friendly staff and very very nice 🥰 I also used my laptop one day to work a bit, it worked perfectly 😄 I would give 10 stars if it would be possible 😄
Valentina K — Google review
We came here for breakfast ahead of exploring Nusa Penida for the day. My girlfriend got the Avocado toast with poached eggs, and I got the dragon fruit smoothie bowl. Both were delicious. We got a flat white and an oatmilk cappuccino too which were great. I have to say that usually I love an açaí bowl, which is hard to find on the Nusa islands, but many places do them in Bali island. However because this place does not do them (yet), I went for the dragonfruit smoothie bowl. It was easily the nice non acai smoothie bowl I have ever had. The owner told me he is looking into adding acai bowl to the menu but deliveries are a challenge. They would be the first place on Nusa Penida to provide this. I have no doubt that if they do manage to add this to the menu, it will be made to a really high standard and be a big hit with guests! I highly recommend this place as a stop off for breakfast or lunch! 😊

Great little spot that is open early, unlike some other places we passed, so we could grab a good breakfast before exploring the island. Good food, great coffee and very friendly staff.

Cute little cafe. Very authentic! Good food. Yes, it’s very simple, not a fancy cafe. The furniture is cheap, and you don’t have a beautiful view or the kind of atmosphere you get in certain restaurants. But this place has its very own charm. It is family-owned and the food is made with a lot of love by some very kind women! The prices are low compared to most restaurants here. There are many vegan options. I love to come for a vegan banana pancake for 15k and it’s absolutely amazing. In fact, I like it more than in most cafes I tried in Bali. I recommend you try this out! It’s a great low-budget option. Most of all: it’s authentic. Kind people. Support the local community! <3

Last evening,we had pumpkin curry with rice and pesto pasta. And today we had scrambled eggs toast, vegan banana & chocolate pancake and vegan french toast. The portions are very filling and the taste is probably among the best that we have had so far on our 14 day holiday. It is a cute family run outlet. They also sell some locally manufactured products like handmade soaps, coconut oil and dried hibiscus flowers. Special thanks to Komang and the other ladies here for the lovely meals! Highly recommended place to eat in Nusa Penida (whether you are a vegan or not!)
Kavaljit P — Google review
We were very happy seeing "vegan friendly" sign in front of the place, but apparently had too much expectations - waitress was really sweet, but food was below the average. Sweet and sour sauce for vegetables tasted like Uncle Ben's jar, which is not what you expect in Indonesia. Pesto had not much to do with actual pesto, but that particularly wasn't a surprise :) Plus for clear marking what's vegan/vegetarian/gf in the menu, but that's pretty much all...

Ogix Warung is a restaurant located on the island of Nusa Penida, offering a variety of delicious food with stunning ocean views. The menu includes seafood, Asian, and Indonesian dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While the prices are higher for international tourists, the fresh local fish and spacious dining area with quick and friendly service make it a worthwhile experience. Visitors can enjoy taking pictures and relaxing in this picturesque setting.
Lovely view, fresh fish and beautiful people! This local restaurant is faced directly on the sea. The view is absolutely stunning. Also, it’s a traditional Indonesian restaurant and the locals were really friendly. They showed us the fresh fish before cooking it. They served it with their special spicy sauce which was lovely. We had a very good time!

Amazing Sea View, Delicious Food & Great Value I had a wonderful stay at Ogix Warung Hotel in Nusa Penida. The location is peaceful and offers a stunning sea view—you can enjoy the ocean right from your room or the restaurant. It’s a perfect place if you’re looking to relax away from the busier tourist areas, but still within easy reach of key spots on the island. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and absolutely worth the price. They’re simple but have everything you need, and waking up to the sound and view of the sea is a real bonus. One of the highlights was the on-site restaurant, which serves a great selection of local Balinese dishes. The food was delicious, fresh, and very reasonably priced. It’s great to have such good meals without needing to leave the property. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always greeting with a smile and ready to assist with anything I needed—from scooter rentals to local recommendations. Their warm hospitality really added to the experience. Overall, Ogix Warung Hotel offers excellent value for money, beautiful views, and a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Nusa Penida.

The view is just mind blowing. Food is good as well with good burgers to offer and nice fish dishes. Menu is worth exploring for different options. Ambience of the place is what takes it to a different level. Hearing the waves while having good food is just surreal. Staff is very helpful as well. Do recommend the place for food and also they have their rooms in the name of Ogix Cliff Paradise.

The food is very good, with a view of the open sea. You must try the octopus satay and grilled fish. Very delicious.

Beautiful restaurant with a sea view. The owners were very friendly and provided excellent service. The food was delicious, well-cooked, and well-seasoned. We left wanting to try the entire menu, we would definitely go back!

Came to the spot a few days in a row as I was staying in the area. The views from here are magical, overlooking the ocean. Free wifi. Staff are so nice! The restaurant has many tables and they usually play nice music too. The food is really good. The fresh grilled fish and seafood nasi goreng were both delicious and very fresh. Juices and espresso were really good too. Make sure to feed the cats too — they’ll come begging :)

Great place to have some local food! 🍲 I’d say food is 4⭐️, but the view and the context makes everything greater! 🔝

The food was great. The service was prompt and the view was breath taking. We ordered a grilled fish fillet and a chicken nasi goreng. Both the items were lip smacking. They have a wide range of platter and delectables to choose from. I had a full heart after the meal. Hopefully, future food rangers can feel the same.

Seafood restaurant
Warung Jungle is a charming restaurant tucked away in a jungle setting, offering a unique and memorable dining experience. Owned by Komang and his wife, this hidden gem is nestled among local houses in the village, providing a personal touch to its ambiance. The restaurant's location near Pelabuhan Toya Pakeh makes it popular among tourists for its affordable and delicious menu options.
Really nice and friendly family operating this one, the menu mostly focuses around seafood along with the usual fried rice options. Ordered a deep fried fish with sweet and sour sauce and a chicken fried rice. Both were delicious! Even though fried rice was at the pricey end, the taste could tell there were high quality ingredients involved. TL;DR tasty food but prices are mid-high end.

Red snapper grilled very nicely and was so happy to have vegetables. Not sure why there was not more people, I would recommend this place in nusa penida !

If you are craving for some fresh delicious food in NUSA PENIDA then this is your stop. The best sea food I had here 3 days back. So 😋yummy, Fingerlicious grilled red snapper I had with rice and sambal. Must recommended. Humble staff, atmosphere very good and cosy. Clean washrooms. Easy to find on google.

We visited Warung Jungle in August 2023 while visiting Nusa Penida. We almost ordered everything available in the menu and the food was good. I was disappointed by the MeGoreng but the red snapper, prawns, calamari, mushroom soup, ice tea, mango juice and all other things we tried were good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the staff members even volunteered to help calming down the baby while we had dinner. The service is slow but that's because food is freshly prepared. Being a Warung it's family run and very well coordinated.

Very nice local restaurant with fresh and delicious local grilled seafood. The owner and whole team are very nice and friendly - warm and cozy decor, convenient (close to harbour). Travelled all the way from Singapore to have dinner at this Warung, and will come back as much as I can !

The fish was served with scales and lacked flavor. There were spiders on the table, and a cat constantly begged for food throughout the meal. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place

Organica Fresh and Tasty Food is a popular dining spot in Nusa Penida, offering a diverse menu of fresh and flavorful dishes. The restaurant prides itself on using only fresh produce and spices, with no MSG added to their meals. Patrons can enjoy a wide selection of options including fish, seafood, pasta, Indonesian favorites, and breakfast items like smoothie bowls. The ambiance is delightful and the staff are known for their friendliness.
Friendly staff and good prices plus a great location make Organica a wonderful spot to enjoy! The chocolate smoothie bowl was very good. And the Pocahontas Salad Bowl offered a nice serving of greens that’s typically hard to find elsewhere on the island. Made did a great job! Very good iced coffee too! Highly recommend! 😊

This place has lots of vegan options, and were quite affordable compared to some other places. I think I caught them off guard one day ordering so much food to go, but it was good and we went back a 2nd time because of it. They have at least a dog and two cats who live there, and they all at least tolerated us petting them. They also had these vegan ice cream bars that were INCREDIBLE. I didn’t see them anywhere besides Nusa Penida, so eat up while you can.
Jason T — Google review
They've got good options, vegan and one of the few places you can get gluten free food. I got an ice coffee and a pasta, the pasta was alright but the ice coffee was super disappointing. I expected to get this lovely ice coffee with cream and toppings but instead I got this very watered down, barely cold with no ice, drink that I just couldn't finish. I'm sorry but if you include photos in your menu I expect them to at least look similar. I think I wouldn't have been so unhappy with my drink if it at least tasted alright but it was very gritty and just not pleasent. However I did enjoy the pasta but the drink really soured the experience. They also have some vegan icecreams that my friends really enjoyed and sometimes even go out of their way for.

Happy we found this place! They had gluten free & healthy options which was so great. I got the detox smoothie, and nasi goreng and my husband got the gluten free carbonara and the coconut iced coffee. Great and friendly service from our server Esa, thank you!

We went two days in a row for lunch . Place is nice and relaxing, the waitress are caring of the customers. So we tried pizzas n pasta and also some sandwiches. All is made with fresh products, and that makes the difference. The pizza were really tasty , pasta also , bruschetta a bit lower than average, because the bread used was basic, the ciabatta was masde with good bread and mozza n fresh veggies Price are average so basically eating for 100k/ 125k per person with drink included . Worth a try

Transportation in Nusa Penida

Getting around Nusa Penida can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport

International airport
Airport
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar International, is the main gateway to Bali. Situated in the southern part of the island, it hosts numerous international and domestic flights daily. The airport is conveniently located near various accommodations such as Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua and Maya Sanur Resort & Spa, both offering seamless transfers from the airport.
Bali Airport (Ngurah Rai International Airport) is well-maintained and offers a pleasant experience for travelers. There are plenty of good eateries and shopping options throughout the terminal. A nice touch is the availability of foot massage services inside the airport, which can be a great way to relax before or after a flight. The washrooms are generally clean and thoughtfully decorated with fresh flowers, adding a refreshing, local touch. Additionally, the Klook or Grab pickup point features an air-conditioned seating lounge, which is very convenient, especially when waiting for your ride. Flights get rescheduled/delayed quite often so check and confirm before you reach airport. Overall, the airport provides a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for both arrivals and departures.

A great airport experience! Ngurah Rai International Airport is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. The staff were friendly and helpful, from immigration to security. There are plenty of shops, cafes, and souvenir stores to enjoy while waiting for your flight. The traditional Balinese design elements throughout the terminal add a unique cultural touch. Everything ran smoothly, and I was impressed by the efficiency and atmosphere. Highly recommended for travelers coming to or leaving Bali!
Chung P — Google review
I like the arrival terminal more than the departure one. The arrival is way more beautiful, you can find dozens of food stalls and affordable minimarket. While in the departure, things are so expensive and only limited food stalls are available. However the staff in both terminal are nice and friendly.

🌍 Good international airport overall especially great for departures. The departure process is smooth and well-organized, with a clean and modern terminal. ✈️ Arrivals are decent, but be prepared for long lines at visa on arrival, immigration, and customs. It can easily take 2 to 3 hours just to get through everything, especially during peak times. 💰 Currency exchange rates at the airport are very high, so it’s better to exchange only a small amount here and look for better rates in the city. 💧One important note: You are not allowed to bring even sealed water bottles past security. You’ll need to buy water after the security check, so keep that in mind –l water is treated like a precious commodity inside the airport. Overall, a good airport with modern facilities, but prepare for a slow arrival process and some inconveniences related to costs and waiting times.

Pretty cool airport—modern and clean with lots of motorbikes and taxis available right outside. When I arrived it wasn’t busy at all, which made it easy to get through. There are also plenty of restaurants and coffee shops to choose from. One tip: I got my visa through the computer kiosk before baggage claim, but then I still waited in the long line not realizing I could bypass it. The long lines are really for people getting their visa in person and maybe paying cash. If you fill out the arrival card online ahead of time and use the kiosk, you can skip that line completely. It’s an easy process and much faster.
Lydia C — Google review
Upon arrival, everything was surprisingly seamless and efficient. The process flowed smoothly from immigration to baggage claim, and I was out of the airport within about 30 minutes of landing, which was impressive. One unique touch I really appreciated was at baggage claim — there was someone standing with a pillow to catch luggage as it came off the belt to prevent bags from slamming or getting damaged. A small detail, but one that stood out and felt thoughtful. When exiting baggage claim, you’re immediately greeted by beautiful greenery, which makes for a warm and inviting first impression of Bali. It felt like a gentle welcome into the island’s nature-filled aesthetic. I stayed at the Novotel Airport Hotel, and while the location is incredibly convenient, navigating to it was not. There are no clear signs that say “Novotel”, so I ended up confused, wandering through a parking garage and even passing construction areas. It felt awkward and far more chaotic than it should have been. Only the next day did I discover there is a direct and simple path that connects the airport to the hotel internally — I just hadn’t been guided the right way. Better signage or staff direction would make a huge difference for first-time guests. The departure experience was less smooth. It was difficult to get assistance and felt confusing at times. The airport app and staff both informed me that my flight was delayed, but it turned out not to be delayed, which created unnecessary stress. There was also a moment at check-in where they tried to have me sign a waiver for damage to my luggage — damage that had actually occurred on my arrival. I declined to sign, but it still made the process uncomfortable and unclear. Bali’s airport has charm, thoughtful touches, and efficiency on arrival — but navigation and communication could be better, especially for hotel access and departure procedures. Still, between the warm welcome, friendly first impressions, and airport amenities, I’d travel through here again — just a little more prepared next time.
Latisha D — Google review
The international departure area of Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport is spacious, clean, and fairly well-organised. While there are only two main lounges on the 2nd floor, the terminal makes up for it with plenty of shops and dining options—especially on the first floor, where you’ll find a wide variety of local and international brands. Everything on the departure side feels smooth and pleasant, with clear signage and helpful staff. However, the arrival experience can be quite hectic. Baggage claim tends to be slow, and the crowds at immigration can feel overwhelming during peak hours. Still, once you’re past that, the departure experience is relatively relaxed and easy to navigate. If they can fix the hectic chaos at the arrival side, then it would be perfect

Lombok International Airport

International airport
Lombok International Airport (LOP) serves as the gateway to a diverse range of attractions. The west coast, north of Sengigi and the serene islands near Bangko Bangko, offer surfing opportunities for both beginners and experienced surfers. The south coast is characterized by cliffs, rocky terrain, and deep bays that provide flexibility in swell size. While the three Gili Islands are popular destinations, the main island of Lombok and the South Gili Islands have much to offer adventurous divers.
Lombok 🇮🇩 International Airport 🛃🛅🛄🛂 is either recently renovated or newly built. It’s impressive because the design uses colour, space and light smartly. 😎 Being new, it has a high ceiling and the ceiling allows ample ambient 🌅lights into the building. The walls are also in white bright colour tones and this gives it a Big Spacious feel, very welcoming. 😊 (See my pictures 📸 and video 🎥) The airport ✈️ reallocated the pick up points to be much further back. This is a brilliant 💡 design consideration. Instead of pick-up right at the front door and you have hundreds of people 🧑‍🧑‍🧒🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒🧑‍🧒‍🧒crowding around and holding up name boards, it gives the opportunity for the passengers to walk 🚶‍♀️🚶🚶‍♂️out to a more spacious area to find their pick drivers 🚙🚗🚕. On departure, there are lots of restaurants to eat 🍔🍜🥘from including a Starbucks café ☕️. You have Indonesia Food, Western, Sandwich…etc and some shopping 🛍️ areas in the middle. The domestic flights 🛩️ are separated from the international flight 🛫area and both have ample space to wait, charge your mobile devices 🔋🪫and eat 🍴🍽️comfortably. I enjoy coming to this airport. So if you are departing, do come early and just hang around. If you are lucky like me, you might even catch a live performance! 😜

1 hour to get luggage and they opened it forcefully instead of using TSA approved lock on my samsonite. Damaged zipper and damaged wheels. I know my bag was opened because it was arranged differently when opened at hotel. Never keep valuables in your suitcase. Update: turns out security dropped items from my suitcase, did not admit or report and tried to cover it up.

Lombok International Airport is very clean and relatively small, with fast service—perhaps because there isn’t much traffic. However, I was quite disappointed with the accessibility features. The escalator and elevator are unusable if you arrive from the domestic terminal, so passengers must use the stairs to reach the baggage claim area. This can be very inconvenient for people with disabilities or those traveling with heavy luggage.

I had a deeply unpleasant and distressing experience with an immigration officer at Gate 6, Counter 5 on 27 July 2025, around 5:30 PM, during the processing for Flight QZ 463 to Kuala Lumpur. While lining up for immigration, I noticed travelers in front of me handing their passports together. Thinking it was allowed, I called my sister—who was behind me—to hand our passports together. However, the officer became angry and shouted at me, saying passport must be handed one by one. I immediately apologized, that I misunderstood the process (this was my 1st time travelling abroad). I thought the issue was settled—but it escalated further. When it was my sister’s turn, the officer HELD HER PASSPORT and instructed her to step aside WITHOUT GIVING ANY REASON. He also shouted at me and my friends, ordering us to not wait for my sister and to proceed to the waiting area. When we asked another officer why her passport was being held, we were bluntly told to "ikut perintah" (“follow orders”), with no explanation. I told the others to go ahead, but I stayed behind because I was worried for my sister. Eventually, after all the other travellers had been processed, (took nearly 20 minutes. Our boarding time was 5.40pm) the officer called and returned her passport and scolded her, saying not to behave like that again and to “be respectful.” This entire situation was extremely upsetting. The officer’s behavior was not only unprofessional and inappropriate—it was an abuse of authority. His actions created a hostile and intimidating environment and left us feeling humiliated and traumatized. This experience has completely discouraged us from ever visiting Indonesia again. I will not be recommending Lombok to any of my friends. I strongly urge the relevant authorities to investigate this matter and ensure no other travelers are subjected to such treatment.

Small cozy Airport! From here you can go Kuala-Lumpur and Singapore too.

Spacious, clean, not crowded. Cleared international customs in 5minutes. Lots of eateries (even Starbucks) and shops for you to do final shopping. Make sure you eat before going to the international gates as they only have like a 7-eleven once you are at the international gates area. Toilets are clean. This airport beats Bali, Phuket, BKK. There’s even a virtual desk in case you need assistance. There’s free wifi provided.
