Tree House Cafe

Live music venue
Nestled in a heritage cottage built in the 1920s, Tree House Cafe is a popular and eclectic hangout featuring international cuisine and live music. The cafe's interior exudes an aesthetic charm with its predominantly wooden composition. Its quirky design resembles a treehouse, surrounding a century-old plum tree. This unique eatery offers affordable and incredible food, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
I originally thought this was just a trendy restaurant and a popular photo spot, so I didn’t have high expectations for the food. But to my surprise, the dishes were actually quite good and the portions were generous. Combined with the live music, the overall atmosphere was truly special. No wonder it’s always packed. The restaurant is smaller than I imagined, so if you’re planning to dine here, be prepared to wait a bit in line.

The cranberry chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious! The sweet and savory flavors blended together perfectly. The burger had a tasty patty with a nice peppery aroma—simple but really good. I did notice the bun seemed to be the same as the sandwich bread, which felt a bit unusual, but it still tasted good. The only thing I wished for was a bit more sauce, since the flavor was a little on the light side.
Chris C — Google review
Had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the service was top-notch. The lamb was bursting with natural flavor and cooked to perfection. The burger’s bun was flawlessly toasted, adding the perfect touch. Local beers were outstanding, complementing the meal beautifully. Prices are a bit high, but absolutely worth it for the quality. Highly recommend!
Junzhe C — Google review
We went here 2x over the weekend. The first day we blown away. The food was amazing and the service friendly. So we returned. The second day was a little lackluster. The waitresses seemed too busy to notice us or refill waters. Cute place with good food. The Chicken Cranberry sandwich was yummy. Great salads. Lamb burger was yummy. Watch out for wasps. As you are outside they are lurking.
Elsy C — Google review
Celiac approved! Even the slightest contamination will take me out—- so pleased to have had an excellent meal and dining experience at the tree house cafe. I also avoid grain fed livestock so we came here especially because they serve free range chicken and grass fed beef. Plus Oceanside seafood and otherwise ethical and local ingredients. And as comes naturally with good ingredients, my cranberry chicken sandwich tasted fantastic.
Roberta C — Google review
Charming, but rustic mainly open air eatery with loud live music built around a large tree in the heart of Ganges. Very pleasant staff, good food and large portions considering how busy it consistently is and its near waterfront location. Very popular with visitors.
Kre8v — Google review
Great outdoor cafe with great food. Many choices - I recommend the deluxe burger with ceasar salad. The local Tree House lager is clean and fresh (also recommended).
Bently R — Google review
Whenever we visit Salt Spring Island, we always stop at The treehouse Cafe. Food is always delicious, staff is always super friendly and atmosphere can't be beat. If you were ever in the area, we definitely recommend stopping by. They have some of the best bacon! 😋

Rock Salt Restaurant & Cafe

Restaurant
The Rock Salt Restaurant & Cafe in Fulford Harbour offers stunning waterfront views, delicious food and friendly service. The restaurant has encountered staffing issues in the past but the kitchen was open for a coffee when we visited. Prices are on the high side, but compared to other restaurants on the island they are standard.
Absolutely amazing food and wonderful service. My sisters and I stopped by for a delicious lunch and later in the day, when one of us took a spill off of our bike the staff made sure we were completely taken care of. Wonderful staff. Thank you :)
Mairead M — Google review
Had a delicious meal today! The cod was fresh and the french fries were fantastic. We also enjoyed the seafood chowder.
Ed Z — Google review
Beautiful view! The Tuna melt was amazing! My friend said her potato salad was delicious!
Jaime G — Google review
Wow! The coffee was fantastic, but the breakfast burrito was superb. Breakfast burritos can be really bland- the one I got this morning at Rock Salt was the opposite. It was saucy, it was flavorful, it was sassy, it came out hot and delicious and the price was very fair. The Cafe felt like a local hangout. As someone new to SSI, it was lovely to chat in line with some folx. I live in the north end now, but when I come down to ruckle or fulford for a hike, I will absolutely stop in. The eggs Benny is calling my name.
Rebecca T — Google review
Amazing service, delicious food and what a view!!!! The service was so accommodating! We came in with a big group of hangry kids. They made room for us and fed us quickly. Yep, everyone is right, the fish and chips are perfectly done. The batter is light and flaky. Friends said the burger was the best they’ve ever had. The seafood chowder was also very very fresh and scrumptious! This will be our regular stop when we come to the island!
Caroline L — Google review
Beautiful restaurant with a patio looking towards the sea. The food was delicious and homemade. The yam quesadilla and rice bowl were very tasty. The bowl had a nice level of spice. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed. A nice place to eat if waiting for the ferry or you just want someplace nice to eat. The restaurant is near the ferry terminal so the area is can be very congested.
Christopher C — Google review
Rock Salt on Salt Spring Island is a fantastic spot with a cozy, welcoming vibe. The food is fresh and full of flavor, highlighting local ingredients in every dish. The staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It’s a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal after exploring the island. The setting feels intimate, perfect for a quiet dinner or a special occasion. Definitely one of the best dining experiences on Salt Spring.
Lilian C — Google review
I have to say that the wait was worth it. Restaurant was very busy when we arrived and since there were no other options we decided to wait. Our server India was very nice and got our food to us fast. We ordered the seafood chowder and the fish and chips. Chowder was very creamy and filling. The fish and chips were alright. Nobody at the table liked the coleslaw.

Moby's Pub

Pub
Restaurant
Located on the waterfront in Ganges, Moby's Pub offers a comfortable, multi-level restaurant with a pub atmosphere and a waterfront deck. The menu features unique dishes like the Yam Tempura Sushi Bowl, which can be customized for a healthier option. Visitors can enjoy delicious options such as buck-a-duck specials, flavorful chowder, and creative frozen cocktails. The generous portions of green Thai curry mussels and tasty duck wings are highly recommended.
Totally in love with Moby’s Pub! Hands down the best chowder I’ve had so far. The duck wings were insanely good — super tasty and perfectly crispy. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious too. Can’t recommend this place enough!
J — Google review
Got the duck wings, they were okay. Food came in under 10 minutes, kind of amazing. The waitress I had did not mind hanging out and chatting, giving me tips on where to go for hikes and things to see around salt Spring Island. Would go back to try other things, especially because they were so kind. Other people at other tables were saying how good the food was. So will definitely be back to try other things.
Paul S — Google review
I am saddened to say my table and I had an incredibly disappointing experience. Not only was the server unhelpful and short with us, but the food was equally poor. Some people at our table enjoyed the fish and chips and the wings, reporting that they were okay, hence the two stars. The rest of the meals, including mine, were inedible. I would have sent the meal back, but the server was not approachable this night. I grew up on Saltspring Island, and I have always received great service here, so I hope this was a one-off and perhaps she was having a hard evening; we all do from time to time. My meal included flavourless tomatoes, old guacamole, seasoned-looking rice that had no flavour, and flavourless, undercooked tofu with a quick pickled onion. I appreciate the effort that Moby’s has not taken to include more plant-based options, as “Cassette” has none, and therefore, unfortunately, when I am dining out with a group, we have avoided this restaurant. If you are looking for classic pub food, such as deep-fried options, then Moby’s might be a suitable choice; however, if you are hoping to have a salad or try one of their new “bowls,” I would highly recommend against it. I hope the menu at Moby’s continues to adapt, and I am looking forward to seeing what changes and improvements might happen, as there is always an adjustment period. Best wishes and happy dining.
Saltspring C — Google review
We took a group of 26 people here, made previous arrangements for our visit. For this occasion we are offered to three choices for lunch, they included a hamburger, salmon burger, or a Cobb salad First and foremost the staff were amazing! Totally catering to all of our needs with Bright smiles and happy dispositions Everyone really enjoyed the food, I had the cob salad and it was delicious! The views can't be beat either, no matter where you sit you get a beautiful view of the harbor!
Nathan W — Google review
Very cool place to visit! We anchored in the bay and took the dingy up to the dingy dock, there was plenty of spots. Short walk over to Moby's. It has great character with air conditioning inside and a nice little patio outside with a great view of the harbor. The service was good! We had burgers, fish, and chips, clam chowder.. which was very good.. and a must have was the duck wings!! Wow! This I'd definitely a place i look forward to my next visit!
Kevin N — Google review
Great food and exceptional service! My husband and I went for our anniversary and our server was kind enough to take a handful of pictures for us in several locations. She also had our dessert taken off the bill as an anniversary treat and was great at handling my gluten allergy. We will be making Moby's Pub a must visit every time we're on Salt Spring.
Julie L — Google review
Good view and great deal on buck a wing special. Both duck wings and rib were good… soft and juicy. On the other hand, mussels were not as good, as curry sauce over powered natural flavour of mussels. Their drink menu looked good but they were out of all the beer I wanted. Nice ambiance and good service!
Kanako S — Google review
I lived in Vancouver for years and haven’t found food That’s this good the duck wings are amazing. I wish they sold the sauce. They also serve them with race and vegetables, and that really was the best meal I’ve had ever. The service is so good too. Makes me want to move here. Thanks guys. Thanks so much to the chef too, you’re the best!!

Italian restaurant
Auntie Pesto's is a charming family-run restaurant located on the picturesque waterfront boardwalk in Ganges, where culinary magic happens every evening. Since 2004, this delightful eatery has been dedicated to crafting mouthwatering dishes from scratch using only the freshest local ingredients.
The lamb rack was unbelievably good. Generous portions and good quality all around. Friendly service and a pleasant homey atmosphere. We are told that Auntie Pesto’s has been on Saltspring for 21 years, and they have clearly figured out how to provide an excellent dining experience.

We had the most wonderful evening at this restaurant — everything from the food to the service to the setting was exceptional. Reservations recommended!! Our servers, Jana and Elliotte, were incredible — so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They made us feel completely welcome and taken care of throughout the night. We started with a few shared dishes — the Beef Carpaccio, Saganaki Cheese, Foie Gras and Pickled Beets — each one perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The Seared Scallop Entrée was a standout as well: fresh, beautifully cooked, and elegantly plated. We paired everything with a crisp glass of Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, which complemented the dishes perfectly. We sat outside on the lovely deck overlooking the marina and the ocean — such a peaceful and beautiful setting. Great food, and amazing service made for a truly memorable night. Life is good—100% recommend — can’t wait to come back.

🙌🏼Hands down one of the best, if not the best restaurant in BC. The flavours are so unique and everything was cooked to perfection. 🌟 Star dishes: Ravioli and Rack of Lamb ✨Never had had a ravioli taste so unique and delicious anywhere. ✨Rack of lamb was cooked to medium rare as requested, every single bite was consistently delicious. ✨Alberta Beef Tenderloin was also consistently tender with every bite, no stringy tendons. Paired with a red, and it’s Devine. Definitely coming back to Salt Spring again just for Auntie Pesto’s!!
Alan W — Google review
Some of the best Italian food I have ever had! The outdoor seating area was beautiful, there were a couple propane fireplaces for warmth. On special were Mussels and they were cooked perfectly. Don't normally have 2 appies but the other special was wrapped Brie which was also delicious! Can't wait to go back!
Sam P — Google review
The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was delightful, and the service was top-notch. We had a reservation on the patio, where I enjoyed the incredible flat puff pastry leek and mushroom Tartine—absolutely out of this world. The three of us shared a bottle of wine, savoring every moment of our last night on the island. Auntie Pesto’s truly made the evening unforgettable in the best way. Thank you to all the staff, Rose H 😊❤️🌹

If you are looking for fabulous food and great sized portions…. Well you have found the right place! Shawn & Jana offer excellent customer service. Every dish has amazing flavour, I can never pick one item. My husband and I have to pick 4 or 5 things to share. We always leave with leftovers to enjoy and don’t forget to try the desserts! Thanks for always being wonderful; this place is a true gem. Nicole & Shawn
Nicole D — Google review
Clearly a favourite spot for locals, as it was absolutely rammed with a queue out the door - reservations are definitely recommended. Service kept going quickly despite the large number of diners, which was impressive. Great food - very fresh and authentic, and generous portions.
Tristan S — Google review
We went for dinner around 5pm on a Sunday and didn't have a reservation like dummies. They were very nice though and let us sit at the bar to order dinner. They were very busy but kept up with the rush and were quick with our drinks and taking our order. The seasonal greens were excellent, delicately dressed and very fresh. The lamb meatballs were excellent and paired nicely with the curry/sour cream sauce. A table opened up on the patio after we had our apps and they were kind enough to offer it to us to have our entrees. The Chicken Parm was brilliant, and my wife had a beautiful Scallop Carbonara that was also delicious. The only reason the atmosphere took a hit is because it's pretty close quarters outside and the people at the table next to us were noisy and just shitty in general. Oh well, that's anywhere you go any more, especially in a tourist town😜 Wonderful staff, food made with care and originality, definitely recommend!

House Piccolo (Current* The Feast)

Restaurant
House Piccolo is a charming restaurant located on Salt Spring Island, known for its old-school charm and top-notch dishes since 1992. The cozy and relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect place for a special anniversary dinner or upscale dining experience. Guests rave about the rich flavors of the cheese tart, perfectly prepared scallop potatoes, lamb chops, schnitzel, and halibut catch of the day. The friendly staff adds to the overall enjoyable experience.
Scandinavian fine dining in Ganges. A beautiful spot in a house with wood framed windows. Beautiful tablecloths, linens, and table settings. The food matched. Delicious appetizers, mains (I really enjoyed the venison and my wife the sablefish). And I got my favourite—chocolate for dessert. Go and have a great meal.
David G — Google review
Sat on the patio for an anniversary dinner with our baby on our lap, and really enjoyed the food and quaint quiet atmosphere of the restaurant! The cheese tart was very rich in flavour, and the side dish scallop potatoes that came with the main were prepared wonderfully as well. We ordered the lamb chops, schnitzel, and the halibut catch of the day, and we felt the lamb and schnitzel were the star main dishes of the evening. Would definitely recommend coming here for a lovely upscale dining experience!
Jordan H — Google review
What an amazing culinary experience. We were so impressed with the food, the wine list and the service. Scallops were near perfect on both the appetizer and the risotto. Gorgonzola cheese tart was outstanding. We will return when we can. Can't say enough good things about this meal.
James C — Google review
I would say their food is beyond my expectation, though still rooms of improvement for presentation. Salmon chowder is super, taste fresh, full of flavor and not too rich. Scallop risoto nearly perfect, especially the scallop, I would say the best. Tenderloin is a very tricky one, but they cook it perfectly, not over cooked not too raw. Dessert also excellent. I was told that Hastings House has the best food before I came, but I would say Piccolo might 2 or 3 points above (in 100 pts) on some entrée, especially the seafood.
Wei Y — Google review
Outstanding spot for fresh dishes and top quality proteins. The service is fantastic and the ambience is on the cute side. I shared the crab cakes, scallop risotto, venison, and "catch of the day" which was a halibut. Everything was fresh, house made, and of high quality. I especially loved the scallop risotto which was just so simple yet done so well. It's slightly cheesey, beautifully creamy, and ever so soft. The accompanied scallops were cooked to perfection and had a delicate texture. They came in a Cajun rub which gave it just enough zing to stand out from the creamy risotto. I also had the chocolate timbale which was essentially a chocolate lava cake served with house made vanilla ice cream in a house made "waffle cup". It is by far the best lava cake I've had and is sure to satisfy any chocolate lover or sweet tooth! I would absolutely recommend this place and hope I have the opportunity to come back. Not pictured were the scallop potatoes and creamy dill potatoes which came with the halibut and venison. The scallop potatoes were a huge hit and I'd highly recommend them.
Stephen H — Google review
This tiny gem bistro is a delightful cuisine find in Ganges, BC. Remember to reserve ahead, it’s worth it. Had the halibut special, perfectly frightened with heat to be cooked but not over done and expertly seasoned. Chef has the skills. And the artful flourish on the soup is impressive. Ganges Harbor, is a must stop when cruising the gulf islands off the coast, BC. Love all the shops and there are many good local restaurants.
Curated C — Google review
I ate dinner with my husband and mother in law. They had a very nice Wine selection, the Gravlax appetizer was delicious although quite small for the price. My dinner entree of Halibut was lovely although slightly oversalted. i have food allergies and while the waitress was good about ensuring that my food did not contain my allergen they were not able to substitute an alternative starch. Instead I received more vegetables . Dessert of Creme Brule was splendid. Most disappointing aspect of House Piccolo was the uncomfortable chairs, they were so hard that all three of us were fidgeting throughout the whole meal. I would definitely recommend the food but bring a cushion.
Laura E — Google review
The food was delicious.👌 My friends and I enjoyed every course. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Worth the visit and will definitely come back here again.

Salt Spring Wild Cider House

Cider bar
Salt Spring Wild Cider House is a charming spot where you can savor unique cider flavors made from wild apples and pears grown on Salt Spring Island, as well as regional organic orchards. The slow-fermenting process ensures each variety matures to its full potential. Visitors can enjoy sample flights, individual tastings, and purchase ciders to share on the farm. Additionally, farm-style tapas are now available for a delightful dining experience.
It’s a very comfortable restaurant with good food. We especially enjoyed their chips. Their apple cider is also quite nice, and there are plenty of options to choose from. Reservation is recommended.

Beautiful patio, awesome cider flights with lots to try. The Rhubarb Pie Cider was exceptional! Our waitress was attentive, but a bit tired and "sunned out" which was fair enough, it was super hot! The vibe was great. Yummy food! Loved our appies and dessert the most. See photos.

AMAZING SPOT! Beautiful atmosphere and was the best autumn patio date 🌻 the views felt like I was in Europe and it was so quiet with the nature surrounding and the orchard below. Like a movie scene ❤️ very romantic and peaceful. Staff were great and very friendly! I am celiac and had great service and felt safe eating with them. They also have a separate dining area or if you just want the big patio picnic tables you can serve yourself at the bar. We bought two bottles to take home of the cider ! 🍷 love the Saskatoon Berry and Bitter Orange Rosemary 🍊

This place is great! I visited the restaurant on a Sunday, and although they seemed a bit busy with customers, the service was still good. The food was generally very good — the only thing I’d mention is that the chicken karaage was a bit too salty for my taste. It’s definitely worth visiting. The overall experience was very pleasant, with a beautiful mountain view. The place is dog-friendly, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.
David S — Google review
A hidden gem worth more than gold. Mac and cheese? A creamy dream, With every bite, a perfect theme. Crispy chicken, seasoned right, Juicy, golden, pure delight. Service warm, with island grace— Five stars strong for this sweet place!
Magnus R — Google review
I enjoyed this cidery. I thought the menu was thoughtful but there wasn’t the best selection. I enjoyed the crispy chicken sandwich that I ordered! The service was VERY passive which is ok because it’s an island and they were friendly enough. It was hard to tell the difference between servers and people eating because everyone was dressed the same. The cider was good we got the full flight.
Ethan M — Google review
What could be better than cider and charcuterie with a view? Food was on the slow side, but service was friendly and the cider was delicious. And, really, who is in a hurry on Salt Spring?? Start with a flight and then order a glass of your fave. (Don’t sleep on the Saskatoon Berry - delicious and perfectly balanced.)
Rebecca H — Google review
Assortment of ciders (which I was enable to have) so I opted for the non-alcoholic cocktails. SO appreciative that the non-alc menu was more than just pop and a few non-alc beers. We sat outside with a large group of people and our dogs. Food consisted of higher end pub foods and elevated meals. Perfect for an anniversary or casual date night! I cannot wait to come back next year!

Great spot for quick lunch and all thing coffee. Tandoori soup was delicious and bread was oh so fresh and warm. They had so many vegan treats.

I think I need to stop ordering flat whites in Canada, because clearly Canadians and Europeans have different ideas of what they are. I went to Salt Spring Island Coffee, all excited for a good one – it’s Salt Spring Island, after all – but what I got was basically a latte. When I pointed it out, the barista casually said, ‘Oh, we make it like a latte.’ Well, that’s not how flat whites are supposed to work. The decor? Sure, it’s a nice, modern West Coast vibe – they clearly spent a lot of money on the space. But when it came to customer service, they couldn’t spare a single extra shot to make the drink right. Instead, they said I could pay for it, making my $6 coffee a $9 one. Most places would either add the shot for free or remake it if it’s off. Not impressed.

Ordered wild salmon bagel. Apparently it’s only half a bagel. Breakfast wrap was ok but very pricey. Cappuccino with foamy milk. Acid espresso shot with overheated machine. Stick with drip coffee

With breathtaking oceanfront views, this charming eatery showcases an impressive menu that highlights fresh ingredients sourced from Salt Spring Island. Notably, they even raise their own lamb at Quarrystone B&B, adding a unique touch to their offerings.
The wonderful Sydne took care of us ( angel, you are an asset for anywhere you work!). The food was fresh and delicious. The chowder (fabulous) and we had the tiny oysters that just sang ocean fresh. Wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Salt Spring and the oystercatcher.

Hands down the best deep-fried oysters I’ve had — super crispy on the outside, soft and juicy inside, and so fresh. The clam chowder is creamy and flavorful, and the lamb chops are from local Salt Spring lamb — delicious!

Less than a year ago, I shared my thoughts about Oystercatcher Seafood Bar & Grill, and I'm thrilled to say, that my recent visit completely surpassed my expectations. Previously, I praised the breathtaking location and views of Salt Spring Island but pointed out some areas for improvement in the food quality. However, during this visit in December, I was genuinely impressed by the remarkable changes. The food, services, and freshness were absolutely perfect, embodying a new level of excellence. Greg, our server, deserves a special mention. He exemplified what exceptional service truly means—attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. His attention to detail and genuine passion for ensuring guests have an outstanding experience truly enhanced our visit. The food was nothing short of exquisite. My fish and chips were not only delicious but also highlighted the freshness that I had previously felt was lacking. It's evident that the restaurant has made significant strides in elevating its offerings, ensuring every dish meets the highest standards of quality. Moreover, the ambiance and stunning views remain unparalleled. It's the perfect setting to savor delectable seafood while soaking in the beauty of Salt Spring Island. In conclusion, my recent visit to Oystercatcher Seafood Bar & Grill was an absolute delight. The improvements in food quality, the exceptional service provided by Greg, and the overall experience make it an establishment I wholeheartedly recommend. This visit reaffirmed that Oystercatcher is now a top-notch culinary destination that beautifully combines fantastic food with breathtaking views.
Salar S — Google review
A very disappointing experience. The food was terrible. Oysters were very small, clam chowder tasted like canned soup, and crab cakes were dry with no flavour. All were extremely expensive- which would have been fine if it tasted good. The service was also incredibly bad. Everything was so slow, our server forgot part of our order, and we did not get a single water refill until I had to flag her down near the end of our meal and ask. The only decent thing was the location being by the water, but even that could not bring me to give an extra star after we spent over $130 for 2 people on what mostly tasted like microwaved frozen meals. Should have listened to the other reviews and not come here.

Visiting from Vancouver where we have a lot of great food and typically avoid anything under a 4-star rating, I was hesitant about choosing to eat here due to some recent reviews not being stellar. Our party really wanted seafood so we ended up eating here and I was so pleasantly impressed! We ordered: seafood chowder, clam chowder, seafood linguine, California pizza and a caesar salad. Everything was really fresh, cooked perfectly and good portion sizes. The chowders were a good level of creaminess with notable chunks of seafood in it, the caesar salad was a good helping that 3 of us could share, the seafood linguini was really good with chunks of perfectly cooked salmon, shrimp and mussels in it. Service was good and kind. Hopefully they are consistent with their quality going forward, if so, then would recommend.

Off The Hook - Coastal Cuisine & Sushi Bar

Restaurant
Off The Hook - Coastal Cuisine & Sushi Bar is a must-visit restaurant on Salt Spring Island. The owners are known for their warm hospitality, and the food is described as incredible. With a family background in the restaurant business and a lineage of chefs, they take pride in serving exceptionally fresh fish. Dishes like crudos and sashimi are praised for their melt-in-your-mouth quality, all prepared with love and care. The homemade desserts add a delightful touch to the dining experience.
The food is really lovely. We shared between two of us a bottle of wine, two rolls of sushi, an eggplant appetizer and salmon & chips. It was a lovely amount of food that had us both stuffed, but happy. That’s why I put down $100 per person because that’s what it came to - but the dishes are in the $20-40 range. We loved the eggplant appetizer. It was glazed in a really nice umami sauce. Sushi was fresh and served with a nice pickled ginger. The salmon was phenomenal. Juicy, crispy (GLUTEN FREE!!), and the fries beautifully seasoned. The coleslaw was a generous portion and a perfect addition. Would definitely recommend this place, and recommend a reservation if you can! We sat outside which was very nice but next time would like to try the dining room as the atmosphere inside seems nice (and cool).

Amazing food, beautiful setting and wonderful staff and owners. What a great place to eat after a tough day of biking the steep roads on Salt Spring. The fish and chips were a cut above, not greasy at all, with just a light malt batter. The lobster mac and cheese, comfort food with a twist, really hit the spot for my wife. Highly recommended…and be sure to reserve with Tock as they are popular. Also, check out the bathroom decor!

Really great service and delicious food! The staff were all so nice and friendly, one even asked if our dog needs anything. The live music was a bonus and added to the ambience. The sushi is delicious and worth the price , the lobster mac and cheese is unreal. 10/0

What an amazing place! The sushi was incredible and had so many flavour combinations. The mains looked great will definitely have to come back to try those! Incredibly friendly staff and lovely chilled atmosphere with gorgeous views of the sea. Would 100% recommend

The best meal we had on the island in almost a week of eating out. Charming space with some high-end quality food in a relaxed setting. Away from the crowds of Ganges and a great place to be for sunset, with the nearby pier.

On our 2weeks roadtrip through Canada this was clearly our best dinner!! We (couple) split three starters and the sockeye salmon as a main and were very full after! The sushi (we had the surf+turf) is super fresh and the other 2 starters were a taste explosion (giant shrimp in honey sauce with pecans, ceviche was so good with mango). All the waiters and bartenders were super friendly and very helpful-thanks for that great experience. Definitely our favorite restaurant on and off the island!

I had the Red Thai Currey with Prawns and rice, dine in on a long weekend Friday, the place was almost empty when we arrived for an early reservation, and by the time we finished our meal the place was packed. The food was great, sad that I’ll be missing the special roast on Sunday. Definitely a gem on Salt Spring.

Cute with coastal cuisine. Food was fresh, innovative and delicious. Had a few of the seasonal specials, zucchini blossoms and sablefish. Love the interiors, will be back next time we are on the island.

Farmers Markets
Salt Spring Tuesday Farmers' Market is a bustling hub filled with positive vibes, offering an array of fresh organic produce and the chance to support local farmers. In addition to the abundance of farm-fresh goods, visitors can also peruse through crafts, jewelry, pottery, and delectable treats. The market features an impressive selection of vendors including Salt Spring Shine distillery, Ciderworks, Salt Spring Wild Cider, and Salt Spring Island Mead Company offering samples.
Smaller market than what I remember the Saturday market being, though expected. Quite busy still. Lots of farmers selling fresh produce. Salt Spring Shine distillery, Ciderworks, Salt Spring Wild Cider, and Salt Spring Island Mead Company were present with samples, conveniently consolidating shopping across the island. As others note and as advertised on its website, this market is primarily catered towards produce, food, and drink (limited crafts and the like).

I love the Tuesday farmers market! Excellent vendors selling fresh produce, bread, cider & wine, sprouts & mushrooms and more. Nicely timed mid-week and a cozy, laid-back atmosphere. Get there early for fresh fruit.

If you find yourself on the island, this market is a must! I chatted, laughed and learned so much as I made my way through the market. Such a lovely group of vendors. My bag was left full of amazing produce( some I’ve never heard of before!), bread, flowers, cider and snacks to keep me fed on my visit to the island.

Airport
Vancouver International Airport is a major hub located in the southwest of Vancouver, offering seamless travel experiences with exceptional facilities and services. The airport boasts impressive organization and efficiency, with dedicated staff providing commendable professionalism. It is a busy and beautiful airport that sees thousands of passengers traveling globally. The entire space is clean and well-maintained, featuring numerous restaurants catering to all types of travelers, ample amenities, natural lighting, comfortable seating, and detailed signage for easy navigation.
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is one of the most well-organized and traveler-friendly airports I’ve been through. The layout is clear, signage is easy to follow, and the staff are generally helpful. I especially appreciate the clean facilities and the variety of food and shopping options. Security and customs are efficient compared to many other major airports. Overall, a smooth and pleasant travel experience.

Had a great experience here doing a quick layover. Was able to get out and into the airport without any issues or major delays. Some food/souvenir options as well throughout the airport that make it easy to pass time when needed. The only concern is that security instructions were not always clear, but nothing major.

2025 August 3★ The Vancouver airport is really the bridge to Asian countries from Canada. There's no doubt about that. With Canada spanning a good chunk of land between East and West, you are certainly going to need a stop here when flying from the East coast. This airport isn't bad, but it's not spectacular. The good: easy interconnecting connections for multi leg flights There's some decent open spaces such as the open air atrium and play areas. The bad: the food prices are atrocious. About $20+ for fast food. Face it, you'll be stopping by here eventually. Just pack yourself a cup noodles.

This airport, despite its substantial size, proved remarkably easy to navigate. Signage was strategically placed and straightforward to comprehend, with ample bathrooms, rest areas, and dining options available. The facilities, including the bathrooms, were impeccably maintained—no issues encountered during my first visit. Priority pass lounge were good as well.

"5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely loved my experience at Vancouver International Airport! The airport was SPOTLESS - couldn't find a single speck of dirt anywhere! 👏👍 Check-in was a breeze, super easy and efficient. Plus, the atmosphere was really nice and welcoming! The whole experience was stress-free! Kudos to the staff and cleaning team for keeping it so clean and organized! 🚀"

I flew into Vancouver (YVR) airport and out of 5 days later. I was booked to stay at a hotel in the Richmond area, which provided a complimentary shuttle ride to and from the airport. Once my plane arrived, and I disembarked, there was an easy pathway to guide you to Canadian immigration and customs control points. Be prepared for about a mile walk from plane door to the immigration area. You will be stopping to collect your luggage, unless you only had carry-on. Once through the immigration and customs control points, you will see signs for transportation. If you are looking for the hotel shuttles, head upstairs and look for the exit doors around the Purebread shop. The doors will be right near the sign. Go out the doors and to the right. There will be signs indicating hotel shuttle pickup point. I've added some pictures of what the area looks like so there is some familiarity. Overall, I found the airport really easy to negotiate and well laid out. While you will NEED to be observant to look for the signs, you should be able to find your way. Also, the staff walking through the airport, the information desk, and security people are really helpful in answering questions. I hope you experience in this airport is as good as mine.

The chapel area is very CLEAN, quiet, private, and welcoming. The information lady upstairs wished me to enjoy my prayer when I asked her where the chapel is. I DID 😊. Staff are respectful welcoming taking really good care of the place. Dennis guided me and my son. Very thankful and grateful to the management and personnel in charge. Staff are great, smiling, and supportive. The chapel is located on Level 2 - across from Tim Hortons. Enjoy 🤲🏻📿📖🧎🏻‍♂️‍➡️🧎‍➡️

One of the nicer airports out there. Clean, modern, and surprisingly calming for a busy place. The layout makes sense, and the signage is clear so it’s easy to get around. There’s a good mix of food and shops, plus some local touches that give it personality. Security and customs usually move pretty efficiently. Overall, it feels like a smooth start or end to any trip.
