Fisherman's Wharf Park

Park
Fisherman's Wharf Park in Victoria, BC, is a delightful waterfront haven that promises an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. As you stroll along the charming floating boardwalks, you'll be captivated by the vibrant atmosphere filled with colorful shops and eateries. This unique destination not only showcases picturesque houseboats but also offers a chance to spot playful seals and other marine life basking in their natural habitat.
What a cool place! Beautiful park for kids right nearby and good food/snacks for everyone. Make sure you take the time to walk all the docks to see the really cool floating houses on the water. I also recommend that you spend some time watching the boats and sea planes land and take off. Will definitely visit here again the next time I am in Victoria!
Maria P — Google review
Very busy but beautiful spot to explore. The float homes are all so cute but I feel terrible that the residents have to deal with such big crowds. We were in and out in after 1-1.5 hrs, great spot for lunch on the water.
Brittany G — Google review
Beautiful spot in Victoria. A most visit attraction. Particularly in the weekend sometimes there is a local band playing nice music. Many different restaurants to choose from. It's also the departure point from whale watching trips and you can also take there the harbour taxi.
Mariam S — Google review
Nestled in the bustling cityscape, Fisherman's Wharf Park offers a serene escape to nature's embrace. A place where the urban and maritime worlds harmoniously intertwine, it presents a unique blend of cultural vibrancy and tranquil green spaces. As you step into the park, you're greeted by the melodious tunes of local musicians and the gentle rustling of leaves. The park is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, providing a picturesque setting for a leisurely stroll or a peaceful afternoon picnic. With its well-maintained pathways and ample seating, it's an accessible retreat for everyone looking to unwind amidst nature. The charm of Fisherman's Wharf Park lies in its simplicity. It doesn't boast grandiose attractions or adrenaline-pumping activities; instead, it offers the simple pleasures of life—a place to sit back, relax, and watch the world go by. The park's proximity to the water's edge allows for stunning views of the harbor, where one can observe the ebb and flow of daily maritime activities. For those with a penchant for history, the park serves as a window to the past. The floating homes and boats anchored nearby tell stories of a vibrant maritime heritage, inviting visitors to delve into the tales of yesteryears. Food enthusiasts can indulge in a variety of culinary delights offered by the takeout food shops within the park's vicinity. From fresh seafood to local treats, there's something to satisfy every palate. In conclusion, Fisherman's Wharf Park may not be grand in size, but it's rich in character. It's a testament to the fact that sometimes, the simplest experiences can leave the most profound impact on our hearts. Whether you're seeking solace, a touch of history, or just a pleasant day out, Fisherman's Wharf Park is well worth a visit.

Wonderful place to visit. We loved the food and the ice cream, went too late to see any shops, but the views were my favorite part. The brightly colored homes in a wide variety of types were fun to admire.
No N — Google review
A wonderful location, adding vibrancy to the city of Victoria. This area offers a range of restaurants, cafes, and colorful spots, making it a place worth visiting for anyone exploring the city. A perfect blend of charm and convenience!
Anastasiya L — Google review
This is pretty. Unfortunately we were there on a rainy day. I like colors of shops and houses. I wonder what benefit private home owners get bit allowing visitors walk besides their homes? I do not think it is fun to live there were you would be on the public eyes all the time. I liked seeing houses, shops and water taxes, a pretty picture. We had fish and fries and I did not enjoy fish at all. It was fish with very bland batter and was not tasty at all atheist for me. Overall it is a mist visit place for sure.
Chula R — Google review
Lovely place with colourful buildings on the water. In the place you can see restaurants, ice cream shop, galleries and houses. There are public washrooms in the place. Really nice atmosphere. Next to the place there is a big lawn and small playground. There is a pay parking lot and free parking spots on the street. Highly recommended to visit here.

Oh my goodness, I haven’t been here since probably grade 5. Took my little girl here today and she absolutely loved it. Old town is my favourite part of the museum. The woolly mammoth is super cool as well. Some of the exhibits are old and some are new. The IMAX is always fun to finish off with.
Brittany R — Google review
A truly excellent museum with a wide variety of engaging exhibits. When I visited, there was an interactive exhibit on protest music that was fascinating, and the section on local ecology and geography was very informative. The diorama of the city in the early 1900s is top-notch and really brings the past to life. Be sure not to miss the exhibit on native languages — although small, it’s incredibly meaningful and I wish there had been more of it. Outside, the totem poles on the East lawn are a highlight and well worth the time. Overall, a place that combines history, culture, and education beautifully.
Manik G — Google review
Highly recommended! You can see a precious mammoth specimen here. Other animal exhibits are very lifelike, and the displays recreate the animals’ natural habitats. Visiting this place gives you a great understanding of Vancouver’s history, local wildlife, environment, and culture. The lady at the front desk was very friendly — I’m really glad I came to visit!
蕭香樺 — Google review
Employees on strike day we visited so Imax & some areas closed. Museum did not live up to the hype. Second floor natural history displays were poorly lit, hard to read and some videos not working. Disappointing. Best exhibits were on third floor, and covered history of India's manufacturing Chintz. When you see what was involved, you can't not be impressed. Many significant totems, worth seeing. Price of admission reasonable, worth seeing. Excellent gift store and cafe.
Roger T — Google review
If you want to know more about British Columbia this is the place. You will learn about its fauna and flora, about its people, places and influences. I was completely blown way by the room Our living languages ,where you can learn and listening to the indigenous dialects, and the reproduction of the early 19th century town. Quite impressive. Save at least 2h for the visit. I was there all morning. The museum is also home of the Imax cinema. It has a café, souvenir shops and toilets.
Ana T — Google review
I've been to many museums and this was one of my favorites! Lots to see and learn! Give yourself at the VERY least 1 hr to speed thru. It does have the ability to add IMAX movie to watch as well for an additional fee.
No N — Google review
I haven't been here in about 30 years and it is much smaller than I remembered. The Johnathan Hunt House and Old Town displays were interesting and well presented. I thought there was a lot more indigenous art on display the last time I visited and was very disappointed. John Lennon's Rolls-Royce was a cool surprise.
Don W — Google review
Was expecting a lot more. The museum was a quick breeze through not alot to see, and what felt like a more steep price to what they have compared to other museums I’ve visited across Canada. It killed some time, but felt like a bit of a waste of a stop. Lots of protesting going on that perhaps has something to do with.

Victoria’s Chinatown National Historic Site is Canada's oldest Chinese neighborhood, featuring a vibrant mix of restaurants, shops, and colorful architecture. It offers a unique cultural experience with its rich history and lively atmosphere. Visitors can explore the area's local cuisine, charming boutiques, and immerse themselves in the dynamic energy of this historic site. Whether it's indulging in delicious food or admiring the distinctive architectural charm, a visit to Victoria’s Chinatown promises an enriching and enjoyable experience for all.
I enjoy visiting Chinatown in different states and this was just as beautiful in downtown Victoria BC, Canada. Just walking around and seeing the beautiful architecture, murals and sculptures is amazing. You have your gift shops, produce and restaurants to enjoy yourself or with family and friends. There was plenty more to see but I had limited time unfortunately. Love Chinatown.
J S — Google review
Canada’s Oldest Chinatown! I was really impressed by how beautiful and large the gate is in person. There are many restaurant options to choose from, with my favorites being dim sum and duck—they're simply the best! Some places also sell bubble tea, which makes this Chinatown even better. After eating and exploring, you can check out the souvenir shops. I bought a "Victoria’s Chinatown" fridge magnet, and it was worth it. As an Asian, I was pleased to find a Chinese grocery store that had everything we needed for our vacation here in Victoria, BC. On the downside, I found this town is a bit smaller than I had expected before arriving. A pretty short walk around the area will have you seeing the whole town in just a few minutes.
Kyle N — Google review
Victoria’s Chinatown is such a vibrant and fascinating place to explore! As Canada’s oldest Chinatown, it’s full of history, charm, and character around every corner. The colorful streets, beautiful murals, and unique architecture create such a lively atmosphere. There are plenty of interesting shops to browse, from local boutiques to traditional stores, and the restaurants offer delicious food with so many flavors to enjoy. Walking through Fan Tan Alley is a must—it’s narrow, quirky, and full of surprises. A wonderful spot to experience culture, history, and great food all in one!
Kenneth L — Google review
You can really feel the history of early Chinese immigrants here — how they settled, built communities, and shaped the neighborhood over time. After strolling through the area, you’ll also find plenty of cozy spots nearby to sit down for a breather, whether it’s a cup of milk tea or a comforting bowl of Chinese comfort food. 🧋🍜
GSTonyTseng — Google review
It is the oldest Chinatown in Canada and also the one with the narrowest street in the city, Fan Tan Alley. It is a small area comparing to other Chinatowns but it is vibrant. It has good variety of shops, food places, and the chinatown museum. Not to be missed.
Ana T — Google review
Victoria’s Chinatown National Historic Site is the oldest in Canada and second-oldest in North America. Compact but full of character, it offers a glimpse into history with its narrow alleys, red brick buildings, and colorful details. Fan Tan Alley, one of the narrowest streets in the country, is worth walking through for the photo ops and quirky little shops. It’s a mix of the preserved and the modern, with traditional medicine shops alongside trendy boutiques. Best explored on foot and with curiosity.
Val T — Google review
Victoria's Chinatown was designated a National Historic Site in 1981, following some major re-vitalization. It is Canada's oldest surviving Chinatown and originally populated by immigrants coming for the gold rush in California / Canada, and became a gate way for Chinese immigrants ever since. So I was very excited to visit after visiting Chinatown's in San Francisco, Chicago and New York. The architecture surviving from the 19th Century and re-vitalized was a towns cape hardly ever seen any more. Really took you back in time. Such as: Gate of Harmonious Interest, Fan Tan Alley (the narrowest street in Canada and past home to opium and gambling dens), Chinese Public School. Roughly 2-3 block area contains unique shops, and stores featuring a variety of "Asian" items. Yes, this is a "must see" sight, but quite frankly I was disappointed. Entire area, especially most restaurants, appeared dirty and grimy. Most shops were selling shop-worn, junk. While we were really looking forward to a good Chinese meal, we actually walked away and ate elsewhere. "Sorry Charlie."
Roger T — Google review
Although it's still a wonderful experience, it is certainly lost some of its charm over the years. That aside I can still highly recommend it. Fan Tan alley still has a funky stores, and there are some wonderful long term stores still in place. Just picked up a huge stainless steel Wok in one for 25.00, how are you going to beat that? Still a very worthwhile visit.

We just loved this castle!! What beautiful architecture and history! Very well preserved and maintained! You need about 2 hours on the minimum side to explore the entire castle. The staff on site are very welcoming and always with a smile, ready to point out some historical facts or just show you directions. The gardens around the castle are wonderful to explore and there is ample parking around the area. We had a lovely time exploring this history!
Aisha J — Google review
It’s amazing to see how one of the richest men in British Columbia built this place. He found coal and became super wealthy, then brought all the bricks and materials from his country, piece by piece, to build this incredible castle. The details inside are beautiful, and you can really feel the history. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Victoria!
Victoria — Google review
Home of one of the most rich men of Victoria in the late 19th century, the coal magnate Robert Dunsmuir . Its construction finished in 1890 and it is among the largest and most ornate 19th century mansions in Western Canada. It is amazing to see how this family lived at that time and the house has amazing views. There is a souvenir shop and toilets. Save at least 1h for the visit. It will take you around 20 minutes walk from downtown.
Ana T — Google review
Personally, it wasn’t my favorite place to visit. I felt that the vibe of the place and the symbols I found there were a bit strange or dark. I did enjoy a bit more of the history when it was used as a hospital or as a school. However, they tend to show more of the creepy history of the millionaire’s family who couldn’t see his castle finished. The kids did like it a lot though, so I think it might just be a more personal thing.
Gerardo Z — Google review
Absolutely my favourite castle to visit. I come here anytime I visit Victoria. It’s a great tour you can easily do in an hour. Absolutely breathtaking woodwork inside, the rooms are set up with a lot of the original furniture with a description of what each room was used for in different areas. I would highly recommend this place. It is a lot of fun.my little one loved it!
Brittany R — Google review
We walked through on Friday and it was a great self guided tour. The staff were friendly as well, joking a bit with us about the squeeks in the floor. We will return again when we have more time to take it all in and get quality pictures. Interesting history
R K — Google review
Beautiful castle with many decorated/ restored rooms and historical information. Loved the stained glass and craftsmanship of the interior stairs and furniture. Worth going, bring a camera as you will take many photos. It was about $25 a person I believe and restrooms and tour pamphlet available with admission.

Victoria Bug Zoo is a family-friendly mini-zoo located at 631 Courtney St in Victoria. It offers a unique collection of live tropical insects from around the world, providing an up-close experience with the beauty and curiosity of these creatures. The zoo is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, making it an accessible and educational attraction for visitors of all ages. If you're looking for fun activities in Victoria, this mini-zoo is definitely worth a visit!
We came here on a weekday afternoon in the summer holiday. There was just a little wait at the ticket queue then we could go into the Bug Zoo right away. The Zoo area is not very big so kids can walk around and explore by themselves quite freely. There were 2 staff there in different corners showing and explaining to visitors about different bugs. They are so knowledgeable and delivered detailed and attractive insect information that both kids and adults could all enjoy and comprehend. We could even have chance to hold / pet / take photos with the bugs (depends on the species). We stayed there for 1.5 hrs. Reserve more time in this zoo if you bring bug-loving kids with you.
Joyce Y — Google review
This was definitely a unique experience! Lots of bugs to check out, not for those who fear bugs (such as myself) but still very interesting to learn about them! The staff was very kind and the tour guide was very sweet! This is definitely an attraction for younger kids so there were lots of little kids in there making it a little crowded but not bad! The gift shop had lots of options! I also got to hold one of the bugs! So that was very memorable (scary😅). Definitely check this place out! They also have a student discount which is really nice (we paid around $24 for 2 students to get in and it was a whole day pass)
Annie I — Google review
We had an excellent time! Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable. We learned new things about some of our favorite insects, and even got to hold a few. Great for kids, but a fun place to go if you're a curious adult.
Corey S — Google review
The Victoria Bug Zoo was a huge hit with our kids! 🐞 From giant stick bugs to friendly tarantulas, every stop had a “Wow!” moment. The guides were amazing — patient, funny, and full of cool bug facts. The kids loved getting up close (and even holding some bugs!) while learning at the same time. It’s small, easy to explore, and packed with creepy-crawly fun. Perfect for curious little adventurers! Pretty gift bugs shop
MOHAMED H — Google review
We had a wonderful time at the bug zoo. The staff is super knowledgeable, kind and interesting. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and they were clearly very passionate about the bugs and their care. Would 100% come back just to hear Grey talk more about the bugs. They were fantastic. This zoo is a great short stop and a fun experience in Victoria. The gift shop has very interesting and unique items too.
Lilia L — Google review
Pretty cool place if you like bugs! They offer a teacher discount so let them know if you are an educator. Bugs aren’t my thing but one of our kids wanted to check it out and I’m glad we did. We saw some really neat things and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Nicole B — Google review
Had a wonderful time today with my fiancé learning about a variety of crawly creatures. Grey was an awesome guide & creature carer, they were wonderful with the little ones & ensured everyone got a (gentle) turn with the bugs. They also made sure that all participants were consenting, and understood that if the kiddo changed their mind, they would be there to help. You can tell Grey really enjoys their job, and the bugs! 🪲 I'd 100% recommend coming here, and we will again, when we come back to the area! I think the millipede was my favourite. 🥰💜🐛
Kelsi S — Google review
Calyn and Faith were amazing and made the experience exciting. They are 10 out of 10. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the zoo especially with Calyn’s outstanding tour guide and will definitely return. Thank you for the great team and service.

The British Columbia Parliament Buildings in Victoria are well worth a visit. We went on a weekend and could only see the exterior, but the architecture and grounds were beautiful and imposing. On weekdays, tours are available if you want to go inside.

The Parliament Building in downtown Victoria is absolutely stunning and a must-see when visiting the city. A beautiful and historic parliament building in downtown Victoria. Stunning architecture and some interesting historical details and displays inside. Can be done with a guided tour or self guided. A small gift shop is located at the end of the pathway inside. Makes for a great photo spot and the greenery outside is delightful.

The Parliament building was very clean and well-maintained. Proper security checks were in place, but the staff didn’t impose unnecessary restrictions. Everyone was polite and shared great information about the history. I would definitely recommend visiting the Parliament building if you are traveling to Victoria—it’s a must-see.

The Parliament Building in Victoria is truly a sight to see, especially from the outside. ✨ Its grand architecture, detailed stonework, and lush gardens make it one of the most stunning landmarks in the city. Whether you visit in the daytime, when the building shines under the sun, or at night, when it’s beautifully lit up, it feels like a postcard come to life. What makes it even better is how close it is to other must-see spots. Miniature World, located near the Fairmont Empress hotel in Victoria, offers over 80 detailed displays of historical and fictional scenes. Visitors can immerse themselves in miniature dioramas accompanied by appropriate sounds, bringing these worlds to life. The attraction features the world's smallest operational sawmill, two of the largest dollhouses, and one of the longest model railways. With themes like Circus World, Frontierland, Space 2201, Fantasyland, and King Arthur's Camelot among others.
Miniature landscapes and scenes portraying various themes and moments in time. The staff is friendly and there was no waiting to enter. You might have to be into the idea to really appreciate what this place is all about. I was really into the art and detail of the miniatures and spent almost 2 hours looking and admiring the work. To me, it was amazing but you might think the time and $20 admission could have been spent doing something else. The corridors around the miniatures may get a bit tight with other visitors. We went mid-day, mid-week. I suspect there's less visitor traffic during the first and last few hours of business.
Roy A — Google review
The detail that wanted to every single piece is amazing. You can see pieces from all around the world that were built and put in. There was even one place where they show you about the whole log process, but the machine doesn’t work as they’re not allowed to use it, but there’s a whole video on how that process goes. It was well. Worth our time and money. And if you wanna look at the detail, definitely go there. We spend about two hours there. That’s a good place for kids and adults to visit together. So highly recommend this location if you’re on trip to Victoria !
Ruby N — Google review
Loved all the miniature dioramas! I highly admire the work and dedication put into creating all these displays, especially the one of the lumbar mill with a well explained video playing of each working miniature machinery. That was far the most impressive cause the little machines in the video actually worked.
Jim C — Google review
We visited Victoria and wanted to explore some of the recommended places, so we decided to check out Miniature World in downtown. While the displays were detailed and the information provided was good, we found the pricing for adults a bit too expensive for the overall experience. This attraction is definitely more enjoyable for kids than for adults. It works well as a short activity to do in Victoria, especially if you’re visiting with children, but we feel the prices could be adjusted to better match the experience.
Shivam D — Google review
you're in Victoria, don't miss Miniature World! This charming attraction is full of stunning, detailed displays that will spark your imagination and take you on a journey through history, fantasy, and more. It's not just beautiful - it's fascinating and fun for all ages. Whether you live here or are just visiting, I highly recommend making Miniature World part of your day. You'll be amazed at the craftsmanship and creativity on display.

What can I say that other reviews haven’t already? Miniature World truly is one of the best places to visit in Victoria. It’s a great place to bring your kids or just yourself. There are so many historical and fantastical models that you could spend all day in here looking at every detail. There are little plaques with information about the scenes and times that the models depict. The world’s smallest working sawmill is not in operation behind the glass due to fire safety regulations, but there is a very informative video from the man who made the model by hand. Such an amazing place for kids and adults of all ages.
Vince M — Google review
Miniature world was a blast and there are many exhibits to explore. You can feel the passion for dioramas with all the attention to detail. They range from historical moments, I learned a lot about the first settlements in Vancouver, to fairy tales come to life. Tickets were around $19 and it was a Saturday afternoon well spent.
Ryan D — Google review
Space section in the beginning was mind blowing before we even entered the real miniature world, loved the history through miniatures and evolution after 1800s , wish we could have spent more time there, almost 2 hours were less, the give multi entry ticket, so make the best of this unique place.

Today, me and my fiancé went on the zodiac whale watching tour. It was an incredible experience! Our skipper Shannon and her husband Josh on the other zodiac were super skilled, knowledgable en respectful towards everything in the ocean. We loved that so much! We were lucky to see 10+ humpback whales and they showed us everything they got (full breaches, tail slapping and trumpeting). It was such a special experience! We would highly recommend taking this tour. Special thanks to Shannon and the whole team!

We saw so many whales! Courtney & Ryan were incredible hosts; very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information as we travelled. Well worth the time and money. The boat was clean and safe. Booking & check in was very easy. Part of the ticket price goes to local conservation funds. There’s complementary tea, hot chocolate, and water. They will email us photos of the whales we saw, so we didn’t feel the need to take a lot ourselves. We sat downstairs, inside, and it was warm & dry. We also got to see a lot of seal lions, which was actually a highlight. Even if you think you won’t get sea sick, bring some gravol just in case. If you sit inside downstairs, you won’t need a waterproof jacket or warm clothes. If you sit outside & upstairs, it’s cooler and wet, so dress in layers. I brought binoculars, but didn’t need them. When you check in, you’ll be told to wait in the store or hang around the local area, they’ll call you. We didn’t get called and almost missed the trip, so make sure to hang out by the dock. Bring some cash for a gratuity at the end.

Our experience with Orca Spirit Adventures was amazing! We were able to see several humpback whales and the sea lions were a great surprise. The scenery and sunset were a great way to end our trip. Thank you to our guide Phoenix for this amazing experience!

Had a wonderful experience with Orca Spirit! We had Sofia, Jake, Joan and Kristen as our naturalists and they were so knowledgeable and clearly loved their jobs. We saw lots of whales, seals and beautiful views. Highly recommend. Sofia, one of the naturalist I got to chat with quite a bit, even took beautiful photos that have been shared with us now. Thank you Orca Spirit for a great experience ❤️

One of the best things we’ve done in our three week trip in western Canada. Our tour guides Vicky and Gareth were great - loads of facts, spotted a lot of wildlife and pointed it out, good on safety etc. We had a super lucky trip on World Orca Day, and saw orcas, hump back whales, a bald eagle, and a humming bird. Really exciting tearing it across the bay (safely of course) and it all felt like a genuine highlight of our trip to Canada.

Initially I kept thinking why this experience is so expensive. My husband insisted we go and boy I am glad he did! It was worth every penny. Not only did we get a wealth of knowledge but an amazing navigation of the boat to get the best view of the whales. We saw a lot of humpbacks as well as sea lions. We even received professional photographs of our experience and sightings so we got to just be in the moment without worrying about documenting any of it. Thank you to the wonderful team - Gordon, Ed, Amanda and Jake!

The experience was just incredible. I went for a 3 hours tour with them and some friends in August 2025. We saw 3 wonderful wales showing off every 5-15 minutes. At the end we also saw many sea lions. Was wonderful! I recommend a lot them to everyone who wants to see wales in Victoria. The crew was also amazing, especially Amanda who is super sweet and gave so many nice informations to all of us about the wales. She is awesome. Ryan was also great, but he was focused to another group (upstairs group) while Amanda spent more time downstairs with us. Thank you, guys!! We loved it all. 🐳♥️

Restaurant
Little Jumbo Restaurant and Bar is a cozy urban speakeasy that offers an imaginative menu and craft cocktails. Established in 2013, it was initially hidden from the public, adding to its allure as a difficult-to-find gem in Victoria. The establishment has been at the forefront of cocktail culture, utilizing innovative techniques such as nitrogen-chilled glassware and live smoke infusions.
Went here on a recommendation from a friend. The room was beautiful and gave off the speakeasy vibe. Menu was small and focused. Food was amazing, mushroom pate, croquettes, the burger and scallops as well as the coffee cake. Our server Jae was great, had good recommendations and banter. Sad to hear this place is closing in 3 weeks. Very grateful to been able to experience it in its final days :(

A Meal for the Memories – Execution Near Perfection Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by its inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of a speakeasy, infused with a subtle warmth. The attention to detail here is commendable, from the warm lighting and tinned ceiling to the exposed brick walls adorned with the restaurant’s name. This ambiance sets the stage for the exceptional fare that follows. The Food: Appetizers: Seared Scallops: This dish exemplifies exceptional execution. The scallops were perfectly seared, offering a delicate balance of texture and flavor. The accompanying accoutrements were thoughtfully sized to complement each bite, while the sauce was a flawless blend of richness and taste. Only a small complaint that the sauce was split nonetheless amazing flavour pairing. Bone Marrow: This dish showcased impressive technique. The marrow was creamy and silky, with a rich depth of flavor. It could have benefited from just a touch more salt, but this was a minor detail in an otherwise expertly prepared dish. Beef Cheek: A harmonious balance of flavours, the beef cheek was butchered to perfection and served with a delightful duo of sauces: a rich peppercorn and a vibrant poblano demi-glacè accompanied by a poblano purée. Each element complemented the other beautifully. Mille Feuille: Absolutely delicious! While the cream could have had a bit more richness, it did not detract from the overall experience. The dish was light and airy, layered beautifully, providing a perfect finish after the hearty beef cheek. Cocktails: We sampled a variety of cocktails from the menu, each unique and expertly crafted—arguably some of the best in Victoria. Balancing Act: True to its name, this cocktail is a well-balanced blend where no single flavor overpowers another. It strikes a delightful sweet-and-sour note without the overwhelming presence of vermouth or grenadine often found in other drinks. Apricots and Old Lace: So nice we ordered it twice! This cocktail features a forward note of apricot, balanced beautifully by bitters and lemon. The addition of egg white lends a silky texture, making each sip a smooth delight. Short and Stalky: This drink offers a flavor profile unlike any I’ve encountered before. Its unique taste—neither herbal nor earthy—is challenging to describe, but its refreshing quality and refinement make it a standout. Spurs & Saddles: I approached this cocktail with caution due to its smoky nature, which can easily overpower. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Despite my usual aversion to smoky drinks, this one was expertly balanced, with just a hint of effervescence, making it enjoyable. Disco Jalisco: As someone with a sweet tooth, this was arguably my favorite drink of the night. It offers a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and tangy notes, reminiscent of a margarita yet distinctively unique—pure bliss. The combination of vibrant atmosphere, exquisite food, and outstanding cocktails makes this restaurant a true gem in Victoria. Dining here is an experience not to be missed. The artistry and creativity displayed in every aspect reflect a commitment to excellence that sets Little Jumbo apart.

The food is amazing, the wine list is well curated, the Empress 75 is delicious, and the beef cheeks fall apart perfectly. Our server was very sweet with our four year old and the aesthetic is lovely! Great location in town too!

The duck was amazing- I ordered it as medium well done, and it was perfect for me. One of the cocktails had a fruit fly, and the waiter kindly waved the price for that one. I enjoyed the food and appreciated the service here. One of my favourite restaurants in the town! Edit: visited again. The cocktails were great as the last time, but the food was a bit disappointing. On our last visit, the duck and halibut were amazing. Time time, the lamb was tough (I had to work hard to cut the meat); the bison burger was just okay; and the mussel had some sand. It seems like experience may vary depending on what you order.

On our last night in Victoria, we decided to “get fancy” and try this gem of a restaurant. We made a reservation over the phone rather than Google (Google wanted a credit card for cancellation). The restaurant is tucked back from the street through a hallway but has ample signage to find It! We were seated immediately and started with a round of cocktails. The entire menu sounded absolutely delicious so we decided to start with a few appetizers and share an entree. We ordered the Polenta Fries, Beef Carpaccio, Burrata and the Haida Gwaii Halibut Croquettes. The Croquettes were served in chili oil and quite the kick. Everything else was delicious! Our server, Matt, even took the burrata out of the fridge to allow for room temperature as my partner requested. We shared the Yarrow Meadows Duck Breast which was cooked to perfection. To finish the meal, we ordered the Mille Feuille for dessert and felt It was the perfect complement and finish to the flavors of the meal. Matt was phenomenal and was ready with cocktail suggestions, explanations of Canadian norms and even joined our banter on learning any new language and living in a different time period! It was a wonderful evening in the cozy Little Jumbo restaurant and we will definitely be recommending It to friends visiting and will be back ourselves one day! 🐘💜

Stopped in for cocktails and appetizers. Most of the cocktails were home runs, especially the smoky sarsaparilla one and their riff on the espresso martini. The riff on the aperol spritz was a little underwhelming but the rest were A++. In terms of food we got oysters, fries, and duck wings. Everyone loved the duck wings and only complaint on oysters (which were beautifully shucked) was that they’d lost all the brine, or liquor. Vibe was great, service from bar and waitress were warm and welcoming. Would definitely return!

Hubby and I were celebrating our honeymoon in Victoria and decided to check out Little Jumbo. It was a really nice atmosphere. The food was quite tasty.. the drinks were strong! Service was pretty good, although the bartender was quite busy so wasn’t able to give us much attention. When we were finished and wanted to pay for our bill, he was nowhere in sight so we flagged down another waitress to cash us out. Overall I would recommend checking it out. Apparently the menu changes weekly so you likely won’t be able to try the same things we did. The scallop pasta was delicious, slightly small portion and a little bit pricy.

A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Cozy spot for a fab cocktail and very good food. Clayton at the bar will take care of you. You won’t regret the tomato confit burrata dish - the only issue is they don’t serve it with enough bread!

Be Love is a trendy and stylish restaurant located in Downtown, offering upscale farm-to-table vegan cuisine and superfood cocktails. The menu features a variety of plant-based dishes such as black bean burgers, sweet potato sandwiches, pad Thai, asparagus risotto, and farm-to-fork salads. All items are free of wheat, gluten, dairy, meat, additives, and processed sugar. The ingredients are mostly organic and locally sourced with everything made from scratch.
The vegan cheesecakes are top of the world experience! The precision, quality, taste and presentation is beyond Michelin standards. Thanks to the chef and Kelcey for carefully going over the ingredients and caring for our needs. We celebrated another birthday with their amazing cheesecake! My pup was very delighted and can’t wait for many more birthdays to be celebrated with their cake. Thank you for truly caring for the planet. I strongly recommend their food as well. The cola and deluxe quesadillas are outstanding. I ordered the same thing twice and one plate to go as well! What a delight to visit Victoria and enjoy their patio with my fur baby!

We decided to visit Victoria after finding several restaurants offering vegan food. Since Be Love is dedicated vegan and also gluten free, it was my first choice. However, there wasn't that many items on the menu to my taste, but since they promise seasonal items, I had hoped that there would be some pleasant surprises. The rest of my party decided to order organic red and white wines by the glass. I chose Earthblood Tonic juice made with carrot, beet, celery, kale and ginger. It was very refreshing and looked stunning. The Mac Bowl appealed to me because it claimed to have braising greens, seasonal vegetable, and broccoli. I was warned that the sauce contains garlic, but I took a chance hoping that it would be black garlic rather than fresh garlic. Fortunately, the garlic was hardly noticeable and I was not affected. It was a very rich dish and I loved the creamy taste of the sauce. The roasted hazel nuts were strange and tasted as though the vegetables still had soil/sand/grit. I was disappointed with the scant amount of greens and vegetables, and if I had known, I might have asked for extra vegetables. And of course, I could not finish it the macaroni. If it wasn't for the 'gritty texture' I would have rated this four stars. My friends ordered the daily special gluten free ravioli with nettle. They all loved it. We also shared a platter with flatbread, cashew cream cheese, apple & beet chutney. I was only able to have one item because the rest were heavy with garlic.

Be Love is a beautiful place to enjoy a vegan meal. The atmosphere is relaxed and stylish – but what really stands out is the service: the staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and warm. You feel welcome the moment you enter. The food? Simply fantastic. Everything was fresh, creative, healthy, and 100% plant-based. I was especially impressed by how beautifully presented and well-balanced the flavors were. Whether for lunch or dinner – absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely fire 🔥. Food was outstanding, healthy so that is such a huge bonus to the feel good atmosphere, gluten free and plant based!! Very generous portions, I am so full I almost couldn’t finish it (probably in part that it’s all plant based so it’s extra filling), and I can eat a lot 😂 Clean food for the win and then on top of all that the staff were so freaking kind! Really felt the love here. Whole aesthetic fits perfectly, even down to the design of the washroom! Loved my dining experience. All love from Oregon! :D

My wife was searching for a gluten-free restaurant and found this online. It is vegan and gluten-free but extremely delicious. My wife was very happy with her food selections as well as my food selections. Overall, it was a very lovely experience, the food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice and the server was great. Highly recommended.

Great service and very friendly staff. The menu had a lot of interesting options — I chose the Bibim Guksu since I'm familiar with gochujang. The dish wasn’t bad, but the vermicelli noodles were quite undercooked — they were stiff and chewy, almost raw. Combined with crunchy vegetables like raw cabbage and carrots, the whole dish felt a bit too firm overall. It turned into a bit of a jaw workout. The sauce also didn’t seem to fully coat or soak into the ingredients, so the flavor felt somewhat uneven. I’d be open to trying something else on the menu in the future.

Seafood restaurant
Red Fish Blue Fish is a seasonal dockside seafood restaurant in Victoria, BC, known for its creative hand-roll-style tacos and modern take on traditional seafood dishes. The restaurant has gained acclaim and popularity, being featured in media outlets like the Lonely Planet Guide, the Today Show, and Food Network Canada's Eat Street. As an Ocean Wise partner, Red Fish Blue Fish showcases sustainably sourced seafood with a menu that offers a fresh twist on quintessential seafood recipes.
Absolutely worth the wait! Best seafood in Victoria. We had heard great things about Red Fish Blue Fish, and when we arrived, the long line said it all — but let me tell you, it was totally worth the 20–30 minute wait. We ordered the BC Halibut, Tempura Cod Taco, and a Salad — and every single item blew us away. 🔹 The BC Halibut was unbelievably delicious — honestly, the best fish I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, super flavorful, and paired with fantastic fries. 🔹 The Tempura Cod Taco (more like a warm, soft wrap) was packed with flavor and had an amazing texture — crispy yet tender. 🔹 The Salad was a surprising highlight — so fresh, bright, and very tasty, which is rare for a side salad at a seafood shack! We truly loved every bite and really enjoyed our lunch by the harbor. The setting, the food, the vibe — all top-notch. We’re actually planning to come back tomorrow — that’s how good it was. We can’t imagine any other restaurant topping this seafood experience. The halibut is an absolute must. Highly, highly recommended.

Missed out on visiting this restaurant in May so I made a priority to visit this time I'm in Victoria. The 1 pice cod meal was absolutely delicious 😋 😍 and portion of cod and fries were perfect for individual and per price point. The chowder was phenomenal 👏 🙌 The stunning views and watching the sea planes, small boats, water taxis added to the atmosphere and experience. Little wait time for my meal today. Great service from the til to picking up my meal, be sure to listen for your name 😉 the tunes were on point as well. Flash back to times in Camden market and fisheries around UK. Will definitely be back to enjoy more menu options!

Amazing quick service spot for fish and chips simple menu and despite every order being cooked to order, everything comes out fast so don't be intimidated by the line. Highly recommend the chowder as its an unique take on the traditional cream based. Adds another dimension of flavour to the typical fish and chips meal

One of the very best fish and chips I’ve had! The long lines should tell you just how good these fish are. Up to an hour wait while lining up, but it’s worth it for the delicious seafood on offer. Delightfully crispy and flaky fish, super fresh tasting and nicely sized. The fries are well seasoned and are crunchy as well. The seafood chowder is loaded with tasty bits of seafood and more, making it stand out from other restaurants. Good service and decent cooking and prep times once you’ve got your order placed. Some tables and chairs in the area to sit back and enjoy your meal. Come try it out, you won’t regret it!

One of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The cod was sooo fresh and the portions were good. The chowder was so delicious as well and it had a spicy Thai flavour to it which I loved. The wait was about ~10 min when we went but I would it expect it to be busier on a warmer day. There’s some seating around the area as well where you can enjoy the views of the water!

Food was great. My wife doesn't like fish at all but she tried the Halibut and loved it! Also the yam taco wife loved it. The fish was so light and flavorful. Go before 11 am to beat the lines but it moves fast.

This is a cute little fish stand, serving delicious tacos. We wait in line for about 20 minutes, put our order in then sat on the stools to enjoy this fresh tacos, and fish and chips. This is a super casual place overlooking the Victoria Bay. We had gone a few nights before and the line was down the block so we chose a different night – it was worth the wait and very enjoyable. The fish and chips were light and crispy, and the fish tacos were delicious. Very reasonably priced at this glorified food truck. Would definitely go back.

1st visit: Very good food, especially the fries. Large portions. Very limited outside seating, always a line to order. 2nd visit: not as good. Stood in line for more than 40 minutes. At one point, they stopped taking orders due to a need to catch up. The food was good, as usual. The salmon sandwich was quite good, and not as wet as the first time. I didn't care for the seafood chowder, since it contained tomatoes; however, my wife liked it. As with the other visit, the battered halibut and fries were very good.

Writing this I kind of feel a bit sad that I can't back soon as we are on the other side of the country. :) We went one night and the line up and the place was packed. So decided against it. The recommendations from friends made me go back. It was our 30th anniversary month and the visit was worth it. The evening was very enjoyable. The place was busy as usual but it really wasn't a long wait. It's tight in there. The staff have it worked out like experts to be able to manoeuvre the tables and chairs to get you seated. Awesome staff. Thanks very much. Thanks Kelsey for the service. Menu items as attached the pics. So delicious.

This is still the best Italian eatery in Victoria. We haven't been since COVID but the memories came flooding back. The Happy Hour menu was very good.... I recommend the Oceans Eleven mussels. We also shared the Bicycle Thief..... fantastic. Bill Murray's Meatballs......and desert was a marble cheesecake. Just unreal.....we overdid the Happy Hour menu..... next time we'll destroy some entrees.

I went for dinner with a friend tonight. When we ordered, I asked for the Mr. Robert's Seafood Lasagna half portion and the Hemingway Short Story half portion. I don’t remember exactly, but I’m pretty sure I mentioned “half” when ordering the lasagna. However, when the dish arrived, it looked like a full size. I asked two different staff members if it was a half portion—one said the lasagna only comes in one size, while another said it looked like a small. The food itself was tasty, but the service left me confused. Our bill came to around $90 for two dishes, one 5oz glass of wine, and one beer. When I asked our server again about the lasagna size, he repeated that it only comes in one size. What was even more confusing is that I noticed the table next to us had their lasagna split into two portions, but ours wasn’t. On top of that, when we were first seated, there was no guidance or proper welcome from the server. It would have been better if the staff had simply explained from the beginning that the lasagna only comes in one size. The menu had two prices so I thought I could order half. The food was good, I can’t say the service was impressive.

We went on the recommendation of a family friend and we were not disappointed. The service was one of the best we have ever had as they were attentive, informative and kind. Our water glass never became half empty due to their diligent service. The food was spectacular - we ordered the contori, housemade pork garlic sausage and half orders of the duck breast and seared scallops. Every bite was delicious. We finished our meal with a mango sorbet which was perfect. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Cafe Brio for a wonderful meal start to finish!

Easily the highlight of our visit warm ambiance and exquisite cuisine and efficient service. We started with the baguette it’s made in house with a crust to die for. the appetizer we had rabbit terrine and it was exquisite. I had the hearty meatballs in polenta which can easily feed two people, my partner had the rockfish special and accompanied with the wine pairing. For the dessert we had the bread pudding it was heavenly.

Good all-around dining experience. We were sat 5 minutes before our reso, our waters were topped up and were checked in with frequently (not too much). Our dishes Generally were all great, kudos to the saucier as all the sauces were divine, especially the daily fish dish and the seared scallops. Speaking of which, i got the scallop dish and despite looking a bit messy was superb, the sauce, the perogies, the scallops, all of it. Lastly, for the dessert, the creme brulee was the creamiest and most texture consistent I've tried and made me want to ask the chef what was their trick. Overall the atmosphere was nice, a mix of natural light from big skylights and cozy warm lighting from candles and chandeliers. Also loved that each and every main / entrée had the option for a half and full size in case you're not as hungry but crave a certain dish. Would recommend and would dine at again.

Nice place and good ambiance. Price is good and you can choose 1/2 plate or full portion. The 1/2 portion was enough for me. The bad thing is the wine. The red wine is too hot. It should be close to 14-15 degrees.

Fantastic dinner for three. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here and it’s even better than I remember - wish I’d been back sooner! We did the ‘family sharing’ for $79pp and didn’t have room for dessert. It’s chef’s choice but I really wanted the halibut so asked our waitress if that was possible? Don’t know if it was already part of it, or she made it happen, but we got it as one of our entrees, the other two were the meatballs on polenta and the gnocchi - all outstanding. Going a bit backwards we’d started with tomato soup (and we all agreed it was the best tomato soup we’d ever had!), a small charcuterie board (special mention to the pate) and a salad; again, all excellent. Highly recommend and will definitely be back much sooner this time.

I went here for a group dinner. I recommend making reservations, as the earliest we could get a table on a Saturday night on short notice was 8:30 p.m. Having said that, the wait was totally worth it. The food here was exquisite. We started with oysters which were served with house made sauces. One thing I really appreciated about this restaurant was that we could order half portions of the main courses. This allowed us to enjoy different things without getting too full. The server let us know about the daily specials, which all sounded superb. I opted for a half portion of the daily fish special. It was divine. I finished with cheese, which was served with quince jelly and artisanal crackers. The server was a total pro and knew just how to manage being attentive without being too much. This was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in a long while. I totally recommend this place to anyone who loves good food.

Having mixed feelings about this place. The good: I’m impressed by the duck breast dish - the duck was cooked on point: tender meat with crispy skin. The potato stick is super crispy on the outside, although a bit salty. I like that they have wine paring suggestions on the menu, and that they are good. The not so good: The rabbit appetizer turns out to be a rabbit ham-ish piece; it’s novel but we didn’t enjoy that much. The penne dish had good flavor, but the sauce was runny and the pasta itself was meh. The service was suuuuper slow; I can see that everyone was busy but that didn’t justify the wait for almost 30 minutes for main dish. The host needs to work on their communication skills. After checked in for our reservation the host mumbled something and seated the people arrived later than us first. Again I could see that everyone was busy but that shouldn’t mean skipping proper communication to customers.

This French restaurant features a wide range of wine, as well as eclectic tapas. The small plates pair well with the wines, and the space is comfortable and inviting.
Came here with a friend based on a recommendation, and we had an absolutely amazing time. Not only is the wine list interesting and checks all the boxes, but it's also really fairly priced. The food was equally impressive. We got a bunch of lighter dishes (brie, cured meats, tartar, bread, stuffed olives) and they were great, then the sable fish blew us away. Desserts were also delicious. Service was top notch. Jordy took great care of us to start, and his recommendations were spot on. Listening to him describe wines and tell their stories was a pleasure. We then moved to the bar where we had some great conversation with Jody while she mixed drinks for the whole restaurant. If I lived in Victoria I'd be here every chance I could get. Instead, I'll just have to send all my friends here and make a point of visiting again as soon as possible!

We had the most amazing anniversary dinner at Stage, the food, vibe, service everything was perfect. We did the Sunday family dinner and it was a lot of food in the best way possible. Wines pouring were yummy. Our server at the bar was lovely and warm. They know what they’re doing and we will be back often. ❤️

Wonderful place for excellent, inventive good and great wine. Our server was extremely knowledgeable on the wine and very attentive without being obtrusive. The focaccia was too good, the housemade pasta was scrumptious, salad was savory.

Everything about this place is exceptional — the staff make you feel like you’ve been welcomed into their home, the food is appropriately seasonal and always exceeds expectation, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It’s the kind of place every neighborhood hopes for — a perfect local bistrot where the team is clearly passionate about what they do.

Great little wine bar. Stopped in for a night drink. Nice atmosphere, didn’t get any food but I’m sure it would be an awesome summer patio wine spot.
Adam B — Google review
The food was ok. We had the sunday dinner menu. It was very expensive for the food we got. The bill came to $280 and the only food that was actually cooked was half a chicken, some chunky fries and a pasta dish. The waitress was lovely, but the service was very slow. I would like to go back and try something different, the burger and fries looked great. I don’t think I would be as disappointed if the bill had been lower for the amount of food we got. We were all still hungry when we got home!
Emma A — Google review
The portions are over priced and very, very, very small. Even though they are “shared” plates. We had two salads, one was lettuce with a buttermilk dressing, very good, but we needed to order another because the tomatoes and cucumber salad was SO small! The tomato and cucumber salad was served on a small side plate. There were tops, 8 cherry tomatoes cut in half, and a few, maybe 4 or 5, small chunks of cucumbers the dressing was olive oil and vinegar- for over $20! We are still shaking our heads wondering how this could be served from the kitchen, not only for the pathetic amount of vegetables, but also for the presentation. We are also mad at ourselves for not sending it back. The pasta was again on a small side plate and I swear the sauce tasted just cream of tomato soup with cream. It was good, but over $30! All in all we had three small salads, one order of pasta, a glass of house wine and a lemonade and the bill was $150 with the tip! (The server was great and deserved the tip) This is our third and last time at Stage - way too expensive for what is served. Sorry Stage, really wanted to love it, but nope, not coming back.

Came here for my birthday dinner on a recommendation from a friend and had one of the best meals of my life. We ate every single bite, had a great experience, tried a few new things and left full. What more could you ask for? We had a really great, knowledgeable and passionate server as well. Great music too! Keep up the great work guys. This was a real treat and worth every dollar. Compliments to the chef and the entire staff 🫡

Canadian restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Victoria, John's Place Restaurant is a beloved gem that has been delighting patrons for over three decades. This charming eatery specializes in Canadian comfort food, featuring an array of housemade breads and pies that add a personal touch to every meal. The breakfast menu is particularly noteworthy, offering creative dishes like frittatas and hearty hash options from their unique Off the Wall Breakfast selection. For those leaning towards lunch, the Sandwich Hall of Fame showcases classic sandwiches crafted with care.
We stumbled upon this spot for brunch and were absolutely blown away. Everything we ordered was incredibly tasty—from the first bite to the last. Huge portions that had us happily full (and maybe a little smug about skipping lunch). Great flavors, cozy atmosphere, and a menu that delivers. Loved every minute of it! The restroom was clean, which we appreciated, but felt a bit outdated. A little renovation could elevate the overall experience even more. Still, we’d definitely come back!

What a fantastic find! This place truly captures the essence of a great Canadian breakfast spot. Each dish we tried was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. From the perfectly poached eggs and savory breakfast hash (Image 1) to the delightful wraps and crispy home fries (Image 2), everything was cooked to perfection. And for those with a heartier appetite, the full breakfast platter (Image 3) offers a wonderful variety, including classic Canadian bacon. The service was warm and friendly, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. If you're in Victoria looking for a top-notch breakfast or brunch, you've got to check this place out – eh!

John’s Place Restaurant was perfect for breakfast! Everything was absolutely delicious. The Eggs Benedict were very good and the Lavender London Fog was such a treat. The Bat Out of Hell Meatloaf & Eggs was excellent as well — hearty, flavorful, and exactly what you want in a comfort-breakfast. The gravy was like a thick Hunter’s gravy- however the plate could have used a bit more for dipping the fries. One small note: when I asked about potato pancakes, I thought they were being offered to me as a side substitution for the fries, but I was charged $12 for four small ones, making my breakfast plate $31 plus tax. It was a misunderstanding on my part, but something to be aware of when ordering add-ons. I will not make that mistake again. That said, I will absolutely go back. Great food, friendly, amazing service, decent portions, and a such a cozy breakfast spot worth visiting!

We ordered the Meat Lovers Hash, Catch 22, and The Odd Couple. The atmosphere was great and the servers were very friendly. My cappuccino, however, had very little foam and tasted more like a latte. For the Catch 22, I ordered the veggie benny with hash, but after just two bites I gave up as it was too heavy and oily. The waffle was fluffy and paired really well with the cream cheese dip. The server kindly offered strawberry or banana toppings, which I enjoyed with both — though it would’ve been nice to know in advance that there was an extra charge for adding both fruits. The chicken strips in The Odd Couple were a bit dry, and while the Meat Lovers Hash had good flavor, the potatoes were a little firm inside, which wasn’t quite my preference. That said, it’s still a lovely place to visit overall, thanks to the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service.

What a neat experience. We are traveling and looking for gluten-free options and they have it right on. Gluten-free waffles for the win, with cream cheese frosting was just AMAZING!!! If you can make it here its well worth the wait to eat here.

Oh gosh…. this place feels like a slice out of a movie! The vibe is warm and welcoming, and the owner is incredibly friendly, which makes the experience even more special. We came for breakfast and tried the pancakes and French toast. Both were well-cooked, fluffy, and delicious, you could really taste the buttery richness. They also serve a handmade caramel maple syrup that was absolutely amazing and paired perfectly with the food. Overall, such a cozy and memorable breakfast spot. Highly recommend!

We had the absolute best service from Paris today! I noticed her beautiful smile as we waited out front this morning and saw how busy and well organized she was and always smiling to her customers. Brunch was out of this world delicious. Best waffles with decadent maple cream cheese. Nice fresh fruit garnish. Eggs perfectly cooked. Great Americano. A fantastic place to enjoy a great meal and outstanding service.

John’s Place is THE place. It has old school vibes where the walls are absolute plastered with souvenirs, memorabilia and assorted pop culture history. It’s a bit of a blend between a well-lit friendly neighborhood bar and a clean version of your grandparents garage. The people are kind, the service is quick, the menu is no frills and the servings are MASSIVE. The pancake was bigger than a dinner plate at other restaurants. And they don’t sacrifice quality for the quantity. This is a great spot with real personality. We would definitely come back.

Fishhook is a cozy restaurant that offers a blend of Indian and French flavors, featuring locally sourced seafood. The menu includes shareable plates like the signature Fishhook Poutine and delectable tartines with fresh ingredients such as seared tuna and salmon belly. This spot is perfect for those seeking comforting and delicious food on cold, wet days. With options for dairy-free, wheat-free, and mayo-free dishes, Fishhook caters to various dietary preferences.
We went to this place based on a friend's recommendation. The place is small but warm. The menu isn't extensive, but it's precise. The food is delicious! The service is perfect. The people there are very friendly and were very helpful in making some recommendations that we loved. It's not like the typical Indian food you can find everywhere; this food is full of flavor. 100% recommended.
Macarena R — Google review
We had a great visit to this restaurant. The chai tea was the most flavorful we've had in town—rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. The biryani was packed with bold, fragrant spices, and the squid was tender and well-cooked. If you're a fan of squid, this dish is a must-try. However, for those less accustomed to its texture or flavor—like my husband—it might not be as appealing. I thought a bit more texture contrast, such as some crunchy onions or bell peppers, could enhance the overall dish. The fish and chips were also excellent—the chips were thinly sliced, seasoned with a delicious blend of spices, and the fish was nicely done. The coleslaw had a unique, flavorful sauce that we really enjoyed. Overall, this place offers exciting flavors and a satisfying dining experience. We’ll definitely be returning!
S L — Google review
One of my favorite spots in Victoria!! The owners were so kind, and you can tell they really know what they’re doing! Even the fish and chips which I usually find pretty standard had something special. Definitely worth going back😆😆
Alice O — Google review
A fantastic find. This place gives a great twist to sea food, it's seafood twisted with traditional North Indian cuisine. North Indian cuisine isn't quite associated with seafood but this place has managed to merge the two. The service was impeccable. The servers gave individual attention to each patron. The food was piping hot and delicious. The location is great too. My only complaint was that in fish 'n chips a bit more fish and a little less chips would have been perfect. A must visit place if you are around.

I visited Victoria BC from the East Coast of Canada. We have excellent seafood in the Atlantic provinces, so I was told to try pacific Halibut while visiting the West Coast. Fish Hook was by far the freshest halibut I’ve ever had. Their coleslaw was fresh and unique, and their fries were golden and crispy. The service was outstanding and it’s a clean cute spot, a short walk from the city centre. Highly recommend!

Hubby and I were in Victoria for a quick getaway. We came here after a quick search on the neighborhood restaurants, and were pleasantly surprised! The seafood hotpot and the biryani were so flavorful and service was absolutely top notch!

Fishhook needs more than 5 stars. The salmon fish and chips is incredible. The red shred on the side - I’ll never be able to have normal coleslaw again. And the citrus pickle remoulade. 🤯 Then there’s the service.. and the stellar playlist. 10s across the board. Gluten free options and a dedicated fryer so no risk for cross contamination. A Celiac’s dream come true.

This charming eatery is part of the 10 Acres family, which includes three unique spaces: the Bistro, Kitchen, and Commons. Each venue showcases locally sourced ingredients, many harvested from their own organic farm in North Saanich.
Amazing restaurant. Best Fish n Chips and French Onion Soup to die for! Their Halibut is the almost the same price as the touristy Fisherman’s Wharf, but the key difference is the fish is an excellent bigger size, the batter is light and crispy. Subbed out chips for a salad. Their cocktails are amazing. A beautiful restaurant on Courtney Street.Zoe is a lovely and attentive server.

1. The atmosphere seems fun until you realize cold air is blowing on you through the gap in the windows and that you are looking at a parking garage diagonally across the street and a CBD shop. 2. I love almost all cauliflower recipes but did NOT like this one with dates and the green sauce. 3. The waiter asked if I wanted my appetizer first, and I said, yes, BUT - that meant after bringing my appetizer, they moved my dinner order to the back of the line, so we waited 30 minute more for our entrees!!!! 4. The salmon was ok but was a small, thin piece. This was A BIG WASTE OF MY VALUABLE VACATION MINUTES AT SUNSET TIME. They think we want to spend our valuable vacation time sitting there for 1.5 hours having cold air blow on us looking at a drug shop for lousy food! No! Go somewhere with more atmosphere, or go for a drive on Dallas Road and walk by the beach. This place was a complete waste of our evening. We were staying at the Empress in a beautiful room looking out to the water, and I wish I ate there or anywhere else.

Atmosphere and service are both excellent. The sad thing is the food is nothing special. I have come here multiple times and each time I leave disappointed with the food. Today I ordered the bistro burger, squid, and a pasta. The pasta was so strong with garlic and the burger was very dry and not juicy at all. The squid was good but not worth the price. Overall the best thing we ate were the fries. I do really enjoy the atmosphere here but sadly the food just isn’t good enough for me.

We stopped for lunch on recommendation from our pedicab tour guide. We enjoyed the outdoor seating. The service was excellent and time to prepare our orders didn’t seem unreasonable given the type of restaurant. I ordered the cheese steak sandwich which was really an excellent cut of steak on fresh made bread covered with tasty arugula. Well worth a visit.

We had a delicious dinner here from appys, main courses and dessert. We had the Crispy Chicken Bites and the Humboldt Squid to start. Then Fanny Bay Pan fried Oysters, Chicken Parmigiano, Chicken Supreme and Prawns with Linguine. The New York Cheesecake for dessert finished off our meal nicely.

This was the perfect place for a dinner spot that was both delicious and trendy, but quiet and calm after an afternoon at Havn. My guest and I could talk and enjoy the evening... and still feel there was a buzz and energy in the room. The food was delicious! Everything we had was amazing. From the crab cakes, the squid, cacio e peppe pasta and carpaccio - everything was excellent. I love that it's local and fresh. Highly recommend!

Chinese restaurant
Tucked away on Fort Street in Victoria, J & J Wonton Noodle House is a charming spot that offers an authentic taste of Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine. This cozy eatery may have a simple decor, but it makes up for it with its warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Known for their fresh house-made noodles and wontons, the menu features a variety of dishes including shrimp noodle soup and beef with hot-chili bean sauce, alongside Singapore-style noodles and Indonesian chow mein.
Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Victoria! The place is always buzzing with people, and the menu offers an impressive variety of dishes. During our visit, we tried sizzling beef, sizzling seafood, noodles, and a flavorful duck dish. The sizzling beef was absolutely outstanding — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. A must-try spot for anyone who loves authentic Chinese food!
Hatice A — Google review
One of the oldest establishments in Victoria for Chinese food popular among locals. I was expecting mala flavour in Schezwan noodle but it turned out to be hot and sweet noodle. Prawn and meat were smokey and melt in your mouth tender; vegetables were crispy and fresh. Service was efficient. Expect a line up so good to make a reservation.
Dibya S — Google review
The wonton noodle soup is great. Broth is so flavourful yet tastes healthy. It feels authentic with that mother’s touch. I had a stomach ache this morning and drinking the broth somehow made it go away?! The wontons are a bit small though, and I’ll pass on the beef and go with all shrimp wontons next time. I also got the cantonese chow mein which was not bad! I prefer thinner yellow egg noodles than what these noodles offered, but that’s personal preference. I agree the portions are small. Overall, I would go again for the wonton soup, and it’s the kind of meal I’d uber eats for a friend who is sick! Also, great service. Speedy, efficient, attentive. Probably one of the best service I’ve had in Victoria. Overall, I do get the hype, if we’re basing it on the wonton soup.
Jordan Y — Google review
All five dishes including large wonton soup ordered were VERY sweet to me and felt a bit westernized, probably to suit the main customers there. The service was great and the staff were super friendly. If this place were in Vancouver, I don’t think it would be as popular compared to other Chinese restaurants.
Ajhkim77 — Google review
Had food here before and let’s just say seeing it is so highly rated as a Chinese restaurant is so shocking to me. I’ve had plenty of wonton soups from different regions before including having Cantonese style wonton soups from many dimsum places. I have never had wontons that were bland and the soup so sweet before. I thought getting the sechuan tantan noodles would make a difference but it was also sweet and not spicy at all. I don’t think tantan noodles are supposed to be sweet. I feel like the flavours here have strayed so far from the original cuisines, it almost feels like false advertising to an Asian person who’s had these food at authentic places before.

It was a great stop, just passing by to and from Craigdarroch Castle 🏰 when i noticed lots of delivery guys walking in and out. I thought it must have great food inside. The facade from the street doesn't look fancy but someone once said that sometimes those kind of restore the best. True it was, the food was great. Simple but the ingredients are fresh. The vegetables were crisp and delicious. Not too salty but lots of flavor. I wish I live close by so I can come back again but I'm just a tourist who happens to stop by and notice the door dash guys going in and out non stop like bees.🐝
Ligaya P — Google review
I live so close and yet hadn't been here until now. Kind of easy to miss spot on Fort St, but if you are craving Chinese food this is a good spot. Food was incredibly quick to come out, and was served hot. Spicy Beef Satay was my favorite, also tried the Cashew Chicken which was a bit mushroom heavy for my taste. I didn't think the dishes listed as spicy were very spicy at all. I will return, great value!

Airport
Vancouver International Airport is a major hub located in the southwest of Vancouver, offering seamless travel experiences with exceptional facilities and services. The airport boasts impressive organization and efficiency, with dedicated staff providing commendable professionalism. It is a busy and beautiful airport that sees thousands of passengers traveling globally. The entire space is clean and well-maintained, featuring numerous restaurants catering to all types of travelers, ample amenities, natural lighting, comfortable seating, and detailed signage for easy navigation.
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is one of the most well-organized and traveler-friendly airports I’ve been through. The layout is clear, signage is easy to follow, and the staff are generally helpful. I especially appreciate the clean facilities and the variety of food and shopping options. Security and customs are efficient compared to many other major airports. Overall, a smooth and pleasant travel experience.

Had a great experience here doing a quick layover. Was able to get out and into the airport without any issues or major delays. Some food/souvenir options as well throughout the airport that make it easy to pass time when needed. The only concern is that security instructions were not always clear, but nothing major.

2025 August 3★ The Vancouver airport is really the bridge to Asian countries from Canada. There's no doubt about that. With Canada spanning a good chunk of land between East and West, you are certainly going to need a stop here when flying from the East coast. This airport isn't bad, but it's not spectacular. The good: easy interconnecting connections for multi leg flights There's some decent open spaces such as the open air atrium and play areas. The bad: the food prices are atrocious. About $20+ for fast food. Face it, you'll be stopping by here eventually. Just pack yourself a cup noodles.
K W — Google review
This airport, despite its substantial size, proved remarkably easy to navigate. Signage was strategically placed and straightforward to comprehend, with ample bathrooms, rest areas, and dining options available. The facilities, including the bathrooms, were impeccably maintained—no issues encountered during my first visit. Priority pass lounge were good as well.

"5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely loved my experience at Vancouver International Airport! The airport was SPOTLESS - couldn't find a single speck of dirt anywhere! 👏👍 Check-in was a breeze, super easy and efficient. Plus, the atmosphere was really nice and welcoming! The whole experience was stress-free! Kudos to the staff and cleaning team for keeping it so clean and organized! 🚀"

I flew into Vancouver (YVR) airport and out of 5 days later. I was booked to stay at a hotel in the Richmond area, which provided a complimentary shuttle ride to and from the airport. Once my plane arrived, and I disembarked, there was an easy pathway to guide you to Canadian immigration and customs control points. Be prepared for about a mile walk from plane door to the immigration area. You will be stopping to collect your luggage, unless you only had carry-on. Once through the immigration and customs control points, you will see signs for transportation. If you are looking for the hotel shuttles, head upstairs and look for the exit doors around the Purebread shop. The doors will be right near the sign. Go out the doors and to the right. There will be signs indicating hotel shuttle pickup point. I've added some pictures of what the area looks like so there is some familiarity. Overall, I found the airport really easy to negotiate and well laid out. While you will NEED to be observant to look for the signs, you should be able to find your way. Also, the staff walking through the airport, the information desk, and security people are really helpful in answering questions. I hope you experience in this airport is as good as mine.

The chapel area is very CLEAN, quiet, private, and welcoming. The information lady upstairs wished me to enjoy my prayer when I asked her where the chapel is. I DID 😊. Staff are respectful welcoming taking really good care of the place. Dennis guided me and my son. Very thankful and grateful to the management and personnel in charge. Staff are great, smiling, and supportive. The chapel is located on Level 2 - across from Tim Hortons. Enjoy 🤲🏻📿📖🧎🏻‍♂️‍➡️🧎‍➡️

One of the nicer airports out there. Clean, modern, and surprisingly calming for a busy place. The layout makes sense, and the signage is clear so it’s easy to get around. There’s a good mix of food and shops, plus some local touches that give it personality. Security and customs usually move pretty efficiently. Overall, it feels like a smooth start or end to any trip.
