New Bedford Whaling Museum

Museum
Specialty Museums
The New Bedford Whaling Museum, located in the historic whaling capital of the world, offers a comprehensive look into the global whaling industry. The museum boasts a vast collection of artifacts including complete whale skeletons, preserved body parts, harpoons, and whalebone carvings. Visitors can explore a half-scale model of a whaling ship and learn about the city's significant role in driving the economy through whaling activities.
Great little museum with good amount of information about whaling history. We really like the large boat model in the museum. You will need at least 2hours to read through the information.
Ming C — Google review
This place not only has a great deal about the whaling industry in general, but also how it affected New Bedford’s growth as a town. Fascinating to see all of the ways the immigrants came from across the globe to the US/New Bedford due to whaling and also how they helped contribute to US history for hundreds of years. The museum strikes a balance between showing the usefulness of whaling and details about how things were done, and a realization that while at first the whaling was a helpful source for humans eventually it became too much due to superfluous desires of materials goods and led to the large population decline of the whales. There’s a lot to see, we spent a couple of hours and plan to go back as we couldn’t take it all in. Additionally there are some areas for smaller kids specifically which is nice for the whole family.
Erin L — Google review
Took my daughter here thanks to Bank of America Museum on Us program. It's small enough to spend an afternoon (unless you really dig into the facts and history). They got friendly staff members and volunteers. The 3D movie was also a pleasant experience.
Duy-Quang N — Google review
This museum is hard to find, but it is well worth it. It is incredibly interesting and full of all kinds of New England whaling memorabilia, including a replica of a whaling ship. There are skeletons of whales and just an incredible amount of interesting things in this museum. I must’ve spent at least an hour in just the scrimshaw room alone. I can’t recommend this Museum enough.

An Incredible Cultural and Educational Experience! I brought my family to the New Bedford Whaling Museum to experience the Indigenous People’s culture, and the exhibit exceeded my expectations! It was beautifully curated and deeply informative. Parking can be a little tricky to find, so I recommend arriving early. Once inside, though, it’s absolutely worth it. The 3D sea lion movie was a highlight for all of us — so fun and engaging! There are so many exhibits about the whaling industry, marine life, and ocean habitats, and they really make you reflect on the history and importance of conservation. It even inspired me to plan a whale watching trip soon! If you love history, culture, and the sea, this museum is a must-visit. 🌊🐋
Cydonie B — Google review
On the one hand this museum was an amazing history of whaling and the local environment. But on the other hand, it bears witness to the wholesale slaughter and near extinction of whole species of whales, and so it's also very depressing. But I learned a lot and enjoyed my visit overall.
Daniel K — Google review
WOW - this is a fantastic museum. It captures the rich history of whaling in New Bedford and so much more. Ecosystems, multi-cultural contributions, half-scale whaling ship model, indigenous-colonist relations, etc, etc. Worth many visits. I will return.
Mark D — Google review
My husband and I toured the NB Whaling museum on Tuesday afternoon. The facility itself is beautiful and the exhibits are self explanatory. However, we had the priviiedge of a free tour of the museum beginning at 2 PM. The tour was conducted by an excellent docent who really knew everything there was to know about New Bedford in general but most especially about whales. His knowledge was extensive and presented in a very nice fashion, encouraging participants to ask questions on several occasions. The tour really made our day at this museum, so if you go to the museum, be sure that you ask at the front desk about free tours. You won't regret the experience.

Sights & Landmarks
The New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park Visitor Center is a district rich in history, dedicated to the town's 19th-century whaling industry. This area spans thirteen city blocks and features numerous landmarks, museums, and the quaint Historic District. Visitors can explore cobblestone streets and join ranger-led tours on select days to immerse themselves in the bygone whaling era.
This museum was amazing they even have a full size whaling ship in one of the rooms. My kids absolutely loved it
Charles L — Google review
I'm not sure if we just got lucky, but on-street parking was easy. The front desk staff was friendly, and the other staff in the museum were helpful but not overbearing. I was expecting to see a lot more whaling info related to New Bedford ... My narrow mind didn't consider the fact that whaling was international. That said, there's a lot of history and interesting artifacts. I really enjoyed the visit. We spent about 3 hours in that seemed sufficient.
Julie K — Google review
The museum was very interesting but we felt rushed thru it due to parking being restricted to 3 hours and we also wanted to visit the visitor center, Bethel house and more in the historic district. Also, beware of a volunteer named Diane who wanted to blame Pres. Trump for the halt of wind turbines....we weren't there about wind turbines, we wanted to hear Whaling history. This was not the place for politics.
Debbie R — Google review
Excellent museum! Not only are there huge whale skeletons to amaze visitors, but a great guide who provided information about the different museum rooms and the facts about the whaling history out of New Bedford. Especially liked the scrimshaw and ships inside the museum. And great restaurants nearby!
M. M — Google review
We visited on a Sunday morning in mid-June 2025. At the time they were open Wed-Sun 9-5PM. We had to find parking on the street because with our roof top carrier we would not fit into the parking garage. The visitor itself is larger than it looks inside as the building goes further out back. The National Park Service Passport Cancellation Stamp is located to the right when you walk in. There is a large info desk with a number of rangers and volunteers to help answer any questions. My two younger kids asked to do the junior ranger which we completed on site. Directly to the left when you walk in is the small park store they have there. There was a small selection of items there. We went to the back of the building where they have a theater and a short film. The back of the building is also where the wheelchair entrance is and there are ramps inside the building. There is also a nice outdoor picnic looking area around the back of the building as well. They also offered a couple ranger programs the day we were there but we only had a limited amount of time with other activities planned for the day and we really wanted to check out the New Bedford Whaling Museum across the street. Overall I don't think we would visit again after our first visit but it was worth the first visit.
David L — Google review
All the NPS properties were fantastic and the town of New Bedford is super charming. However, we were disappointed to find the highly advertised whaling museum is not part of the NPS and quite expensive. Be prepared to throw down over $70 for a family of 4.
Laura M — Google review
The visitor center was closed due to the federal government shutdown.  The visitor center is in the middle of historic downtown New Bedford and there are some interpretive signs in the vicinity.  I look forward to visiting after the shutdown to get some information from the great park rangers.

Awesome place, great displays! We learned a lot. Tip: Wear a hard hat on the ship. Nice gift shop.

Buttonwood Park Zoo

Mentioned on
8 lists
Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Buttonwood Park Zoo is a 7-acre zoo situated in New Bedford, Massachusetts, within a larger 97-acre park. The zoo is named after Buttonwood Brook, which runs through the area. It takes about 2 hours to explore the zoo and its surroundings, where visitors can also spot local wildlife such as frogs and birds. The zoo features animals from various continents and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Buttonwood Park Zoo is one of those rare gems: small enough for young kids to enjoy without needing a map, but packed with enough charm and variety to make every visit feel special. Tucked right in New Bedford, it’s perfect for families looking for a fun, low-stress day out. You’ll find mostly New England animals here—think black bears, river otters, lynxes, and whitetail deer—but there are a few standout stars that add something extra. The red pandas are adorable and usually napping in impossible positions, and the Asian elephant, Ruth, is a gentle icon of the zoo who’s been there for years. There’s a sweet little train ride and a classic carousel that kids absolutely love, plus a clean, safe playground with views of the animal habitats. You can grab lunch at the café (prices are surprisingly reasonable), or bring your own food and picnic around the grounds. If you’re a member of the Museum of Science in Boston, good news: your membership gets you in here for free thanks to their reciprocal program. That makes it an easy choice for a spontaneous afternoon visit or a weekend tradition. Buttonwood isn’t flashy, but it doesn’t try to be. It’s a calm, friendly space where kids can get close to animals, parents can relax, and nobody leaves feeling overwhelmed. For families in southern Massachusetts, it’s the kind of place that quickly becomes a favorite.
David B — Google review
Good smaller zoo. Easy to walk around. Had stroller rentals. Very reasonably priced which was nice. Not tons of animals, but some nice ones. Seal area was cool. We came on a Sunday in June, wasn’t too busy. They have a short train ride around the zoo. I wouldn’t recommend having lunch or using the cafeteria but overall was a good place to visit! Clean and well maintained.
Kelly M — Google review
I visited the zoo recently, and it was such an enjoyable experience from start to finish. The place was clean, organized, and easy to explore. One of my favorite parts was seeing the elephant. Overall, it was a great day for relaxing, educational, and full of beautiful animals. I’d definitely recommend visiting if you’re looking for something fun to do outdoors or just want to spend the day surrounded by nature and wildlife.
Davina D — Google review
Place is great! Nicely kept grounds and everything is spread out nicely for an enjoyable walk around without crowding. My kids loved it, especially the sensory touch tank and Emily the Elephant! The Cafe also has very affordable snacks and food options. My oldest loved his mini pizza! The cheap admission price was the cherry on top. Highly recommend!
Amanda T — Google review
Wonderful zoo!! So much to offer. Great variety. Much care to the animals and grounds is done here. Wonderful to see. Thank you! ... I wish I took more pix, sorry.
Tammy L — Google review
Awesome renovations have been made to include indoor section with monkeys, sloths, birds etc. They are continuing to revamp their farm life section with horses, pigs, goats etc. This is a great quick 1-2 hour stroll for families. They have teain rides and a carpool for the kids along with a food court. Some of my favorite animals were the seals, otters, bears, elephant, and buffalo.
Kel B — Google review
Well maintained and animals are cared for expertly! Well suited for toddlers with a merry-go-round and a "train" to take a kid size tour of the park. Lots of hands on stuff to do!

Fort Taber Park, also known as the Fort at Clark's Point, is a 47-acre waterfront park located in New Bedford, Massachusetts. It features a 19th-century fort with historical military significance from the American Civil War era. The park offers expansive green spaces, a playground, and a museum that provides insight into its rich history and military architecture. Situated on Buzzards Bay, the park boasts picturesque ocean views and a mile of ocean-frontage for visitors to enjoy.
My wife and I visited our grandson at College in Boston, and the way home we stopped at Castle Island for a stroll and ice cream at Sullivan's. Love to go people watch. Used to fish here as a child before Pleasure Bay was created. Lovely scenery.
William F — Google review
Pretty cool place to explore. And you can fish bike walk etc. Kids playground also.
Jesse G — Google review
Disappointing really. Could be a cool place for history but seems that's gotten lost in the waste. The military museum was a pleasant surprise but that was the only good thing. Don't go if you think you'll be able to tour the fort, it's locked up and overgrown. The only fort ruin you can walk through, the smell of urine permeating just from the outside of it was disgusting. The inside is just gross and a sad reminder how no one gives a crap about the history of the forts. Speaking of crap, the smell from the wastewater treatment facility right there is nauseating to say the least. Very unfortunate. Sad to see.

The New Bedford Museum of Glass is a treasure trove of over 7,000 stunning glass pieces that showcase the city's rich history as a hub for glassmaking during the 19th century. The collection includes works from renowned local companies like The Mount Washington Glass Company and the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company, as well as pieces from esteemed makers such as Tiffany and Steuben.
A must see in the city of New Bedford. Kirk is a wonderful and funny tour guide with great theories on some art mysteries that have strong roots in New Bedford. If you are an art or history nerd, I would recommend calling ahead to make sure you can get a tour. We got a nice discount having a large group and we're catered to beautifully by the tour guide! Photos are an item from the gift shop and some fabulous pieces! I won't give away the mysteries, go visit and learn about them! Do not miss this place!!!
Sara A — Google review
I went with a friend, and we were unprepared for the incredible side quest we just unlocked. We planned to just pop in and look around, but for only $10 we got a full two hour tour. Because we went at an odd time on a day with poor weather, we were the only two people on the tour. That meant that we were free to ask as many questions as we had. The guide was kind and had an incredible wealth of knowledge. His storytelling was captivating and while previously disinterested in glass, we hung on to every word. He brought out the black light to showcase uranium containing glass which was really cool. Very interesting experience, and we highly recommend checking it out.
Rou P — Google review
Absolute gem of the New Bedford. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable with good storytelling skills and wonderful sense of humour. I really enjoyed my visit. Thank you so much!
Oksana P — Google review
A wonderful glass museum. If you want to know more about glass this is the place ! Kirk gives an amazing tour. Trust me go here.
Antone P — Google review
I had an incredible experience at the New Bedford Glass Museum with my boyfriend. The museum, nestled in a charming historical building, is an absolute gem. Every corner is filled with stunning glass pieces that span history and styles, each with its own unique story. We also had the pleasure of meeting the museum cat, Angus, who added a touch of whimsy to our visit. Our guide's passion and extensive knowledge were truly remarkable and added significantly to our experience. We spent about two hours learning about fun Easter eggs in glass history, completely transfixed by the exquisite artifacts. The $10 admission fee is a small price to pay for the wealth of knowledge and beauty you'll encounter. Additionally, the museum houses a delightful gift shop with a range of unique and beautiful glass pieces. I left the museum not just with a greater appreciation for the art of glassmaking, but also brimming with inspiration. I highly recommend the New Bedford Glass Museum to everyone - it's a must-see!
Thuy-Linh P — Google review
Beautiful museum and huge collection of glass and decorative pieces. Great spot to check out however it does require a $10 entry fee per person which I feel could be lowered a bit considering it can be walked thru in 10 minutes maybe 15 if you’re in a group. Giving maximum stars for the love of the glass pieces and the museum was inside a lovely old house
GYPSY — Google review
I just stopped by today for the first time and had an amazing time. The museum is located downstairs in a historical building which offers its own parking lot. The museum consists of one room however there are plenty of displays and if you enjoy the pieces and join the small tour of the pieces an hour will go by fast here. Admission is $10/adult but it was worth it for me to view these glass artworks and to support a local museum.
Noah C — Google review
Fantastic small glass museum with a wonderful director. The gentleman that gave the guided tour is very personable with enjoyable details of all the glass showcased. The museum is on the lower level of the mansion with a very nice offering of assorted glassware for sale in the gift shop. Pieces for sale are donated items. I found a Westmoreland duck in wonderful condition and a very fair price. Now resting on the sideboard in the living room.

The New Bedford Art Museum, housed in a former bank building in downtown, is a vibrant hub for local and contemporary art. With a diverse range of exhibitions featuring local artists, the city's art collection from the New Bedford Free Public Library, and an eclectic mix of contemporary art including olfactory, sound, and botanical art, there's always something new to explore. The museum also hosts special events and evening exhibits for visitors to enjoy.
Well curated, balanced, and inclusive exhibition of South Coast artists' work, just came down August 31. Beautiful space!

This miniature museum with three excellent galleries is a great place to spend an hour looking at contemporary art by local artists and big names from around the country. During my visit, the two exhibitions on display were Pathfinders: Paving the Glass Revolution in the U.S. and Transformations. New Bedford Art Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and $0 for NEMA, NARM, Card to Culture, and Museums for All members, along with active duty personnel and their families. The museum’s single floor layout is easy to navigate. However, the galleries are not always well lit, and there is no seating. An all-gender restroom in the basement is accessible via an elevator. For a quick taste of American art with an excellent docent, this is a great stop.

Today was the last day of An Intimate Portrait: Photographs of the Presidency of Barack by Pete Souza. Mr. Souza was there for the closing of this remarkable exhibit. He spoke for almost an hour taking questions from the audience of Museum members. This small museum is housed in an old bank building. The quality of their carefully curated exhibits far exceeds its size.

Small museum with wonderful collection and featured exhibitions.
Diane S — Google review
Just left this “museum” a few minutes ago, as I am writing this 6/4/2023. This place is NOT WORTH $8/Adult admission. It is not even worth 8 cents admission. It is a very very small building with one room with a few small closet like rooms off of the main area. It consists of a trash bag “whale fin” & construction tubes as an “exhibit”. They also have a few painted State Signs and a handful of Asian Prints. That is it. You are lucky to spend 10-15 minutes here. I also observed other patrons who left very disappointed and upset. A very big rip off and scam. You will be more interested in just seeing local architecture & murals in the streets of New Bedford. Very disappointed and wish they offered refunds.

Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden Museum

Museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden Museum is a stunning 1834 Greek Revival mansion surrounded by beautiful gardens that offer tours to visitors. The museum provides a self-guided tour with numbered areas, and there is also a printout available for visitors to guide themselves around the property. The rose garden is one of the highlights of the museum, featuring over 300 rose bushes that were planted in 2017.
The RJD Mansion is a hidden gem — a perfect blend of historic charm, romantic gardens, and timeless elegance. As a wedding photographer, I’m always thrilled when I get to shoot at this venue. There’s something truly magical about the way it transports you to another time, right in the heart of New Bedford. The grounds are stunning — beautifully landscaped gardens, brick pathways, iron gates, and ivy-covered trellises that make for dreamy backdrops throughout the day. The house itself, with its Greek Revival architecture and warm, stately character, adds so much personality and history to the photos. Whether it's bridal portraits on the wraparound porch or a quiet moment in the rose garden, every corner of this venue offers something picturesque. One thing I love as a photographer is how intimate and personal weddings feel here. It’s not a massive commercial space — it’s peaceful, elegant, and full of character. The natural light in the garden during golden hour is especially breathtaking. The team at the RJD is also wonderful to work with. They care deeply about the property and the couples who choose to get married there. They’re responsive, kind, and very respectful of vendors, which makes the entire experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. If you're looking for a venue that’s rich in history, filled with charm, and surrounded by natural beauty, the RJD Mansion is an incredible choice. It’s a dream location for anyone who loves romantic, garden-inspired weddings — and a dream to photograph. — Khailah Cunha Belmont & Bliss Photo Co.

Had our ceremony last week and it was beautiful even with all the rain. We had the ceremony under the tent and was able to take pictures in the museum. Claudio was wonderful to work with. His communication throughout the process was on point. He was very engaged during the ceremony and was helpful holding the umbrella for us to Walk in under the tent and even for our photographer! Beautiful grounds to have a wedding ceremony or just to take wedding pictures

Great museum for history buffs and enthusiasts of historic homes. The curators have done an excellent job of assembling the story of this 42 room mansion and the three families who lived there. I highly recommend it!
Laurie G — Google review
Great experience from a wedding photographer perspective. Such a fun beautiful venue in New Bedford. Claudio is the absolute best to work with, if you’re a vendor and new to this venue, Claudio is lots of fun to work with! If you respect the rules of the venue, he is very trustworthy to allow you to work. Can’t wait for the opportunity to photograph here again!

We came early to a wedding in their garden area- it is a beautiful venue for a wedding. The Museum is very interesting as it is an old whaling family home. We enjoyed it.
Arleen C — Google review
Very neat to visit. I loved it. I liked how they have a print out for the self guided tour. It's a packet of info and their areas are numbered. The rose garden is spectacular! Over 300 rose bushes were planted in 2017. So much history in our own backyard.

The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum (RJD) was designated a National Historic Landmark as William Rotch, Jr. House in 2005. The self-guided tour allowed visitors to explore two floors of the house plus an extensive rose garden while learning the histories of the three families who lived there. The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum is a fun and relaxing way to tour a historic home and enjoy beautiful flowers. The staff was cheerful and friendly. I appreciated that different rooms in the house were specific to the three families who live their, allow me to understand three separate time periods in New Bedford history. Additionally, this rose garden was likely the best I have visited, topping the Kelleher Rose Garden in Boston’s Emerald Necklace, the Victorian Rose Garden at Roger Williams Park, and the little rose garden at Borderland State Park. The rose garden has wide paths and is accessible to those with limited mobility or using a wheelchair. The historic house, like many, is accessible only by stairs, and some of the rooms are dimly lit. The self-guided tour came in both a print and audio version. The museum is open on Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets to the museum are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and AAA members, $3 for children ages 7 to 17, and $0 for NEMA and AAM members, along with EBT, WIC and ConnectorCare Cardholders, and active-duty military. This is a great stop for anyone in the New Bedford area who has visited its many other historical sites and wants to know even more.

The New Bedford Port Society, established in 1830, is a historic building with a stately facade and well-maintained landscape. The Seamen’s Bethel atop Johnny Cake Hill was a chapel where whalers would gather before embarking on their voyages. Built in 1832 by the New Bedford Port Society for the Moral Improvement of Seamen, it aimed to address the dissolute lifestyle of whalers.
What a great place. Friendly staff and enjoyable history. Check out the movie Mobydick with Gregory peck then check out the pastors podium built in the 6p's based on the scene in the movie. They did have a wedding when i arrived so i returned later. Love itl.

I just got married at Seamens Bethel this weekend and it was amazing. Everyone there is super nice and accommodating. It was a bit hard to get ahold of someone at first and during my planning but I just went there and was able to get all of my questions answered!! It's such a beautiful and welcoming place to get married or have a baptism!!

The Z put on yet another fabulous show, we enjoyed it very much. Beautiful old building filled with charm and character, friendly and helpful staff. Such a joy to visit again. 😊 Only small criticism is that those theater seats have seen better days, they are quite old and not particularly comfortable. But the show was so fantastic you didn't notice after a while anyhow.

** Nice little place to catch a show ** My son and I caught Weird Al here in late April 2022. They just recently reopened. We had a great, stress-free time. It's fairly small...seemed maybe about 1/2 the size of the Providence Performing Arts Center, if that. It's located about a 5 minute walk from the main street. There were a few decent places to eat within walking distance, but it seems like this part of town largely rolls up the sidewalks after 5pm. Parking was very convenient - $4 event parking in a building attached to the theater. It was a little tight to drive around in, but I've been to worse. We arrived about 2 hours early (6pm on a Friday night), and only barely had to park in the 2nd floor (if I hadn't taken my truck, we would have been able to park on the 1st floor). There were stairs and elevators on opposite sides of the building. Leaving after the show was a piece of cake. The venue itself was clean and cozy. The staff were friendly and helpful. They checked COVID vax cards outside, which went quickly. In the entry area, there was a small bar/grill to the left, and merchandise was sold on the right. Seating was comfy (if standard). There was ample leg room between rows. Bathrooms were clean. Great line of sight to the stage, even with us far off to the left about 20 rows back. If there's another show here that I'm interested in seeing, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. It was about 40 minutes from Providence @ 5pm on Friday, and it was easy to get to once off of the highway.

Not a bad seat in the house. Drink line goes fast, good variety while offering local beer and wine. Normal pricing for event driven venue. The Z offers a variety of shows. I'll come back again and again.

The Zeiterion is a historic theater in the heart of downtown / Waterfront New Bedford. Their staff is second to none, and they will always go the extra mile to make sure their patrons are comfortable and happy at their events. I have seen several shows here. Most recently Get the Led Out a Led Zeppelin tribute band, and Rain a Beatles tribute band both of which were excellent! If you haven't had the opportunity to see a show at this historic venue I suggest you do, you will not regret it! Also, they are a not-for-profit business that is all supported by patrons donations and local support, making this an even more noteworthy venue to visit.

This is a small theater however the sound was really good and the seats were very comfortable. As a larger man I like to know ahead of time if I am going to be comfortable or not sitting in seats and the seats did not disappoint. I was comfortable throughout the performance of which we were there to see weird Al. Like I said the sound was great and I could hear every instrument and lyric which depending on who you are there to see is a good or bad thing LOL going back to the seats the only issue was when you sit down be careful because the seats recline back automatically and you will feel like you are falling but rest assured you are not! The employees all were friendly and got us to our seat with no problem. The venue is small enough to feel comfortable but large enough to feel like a concert. Area restaurants are great and you are in abundance of good food around you!

After a year and a half, so glad to be able to get back to the"Z"! How lucky to have access to great shows so close to home. Chris Botti show was awesome👏❤

Went to see Kenny White (my favorite) playing with Angela Reed, Duke Levine and Marty Ballou - fabulous show. The intro was nice and short, the reserved table seating was great. Funky vibe to the venue, friendly volunteer staff manning the door and bar.

I just happened to be in the area on vacation and was able to go for a free screening of Jaws. The staff was friendly, the theater is gorgeous, and other than a few drunken idiots in front of us, we enjoyed the whole experience! I'd stop by here again!

Came with a group of 8. We all had kayaks. They loaded them carefully for us. They were super nice and made sure we and our gear got back on safely to get home.

Had a great experience on the Cuttyhunk Ferry from New Bedford! The boat was clean, on time, and the ride was smooth all the way to the island. There’s a bathroom on board and a small selection of snacks, drinks, and even alcohol available for purchase, which was a nice surprise. Staff was friendly and everything ran efficiently—would definitely ride again.

The best and only commercial way to get to Cuttyhunk Island. Ferry is fast, safe, and the folks are both sweet and funny. Felt very safe. The luggage was loaded jbro large crates and moved with a crane. Your ticket to the island is also your ticket off, so don’t lose it! Ferry times are printed on the back of our tickets which was very convenient.

The Cuttyhunk Island Ferry decompression hour is wonderful coming from the Americas to Cuttyhunk. This is absolutely my second favorite way to get to Cuttyhunk Island. My first being on a friend’s boat ! Relaxing ride to the Island. Very well maintained and very clean. Helpful owners / staff. ⛵

Restaurant
No Problemo is a vibrant and trendy taqueria located in downtown New Bedford, offering a diverse menu of Tex-Mex favorites such as burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and more. With over 20 years of experience, this spot is known for its quick service and high-quality food. The restaurant's eclectic decor features folk art-style skateboards, adding to its hipster-chic vibe.
Having heard about the place from Fall River to locals in New Bedford I knew I had to give this place a try. Just walking by the corner of the block you can smell how good the food is. The receiving area is wicked nice, clean, and well decorated with a large, easy to read menu up in the wall. There is also a large dark and warm feeling seating area if you choose to dine in.The staff, especially Justin, were welcoming and informative on guiding a new comers first choice. I opted for the Beef Buritto and within minutes was gifted a beast of a tortilla filled with a hefty amount of rice, beans, salsa, cheese, and meat. The place is CASH ONLY so come with some dollars as the price was modest and matches the amount and quality of the food. At first I was a bit intimidated by the size of such a meal that I had to finish quickly due to my schedule, but it was SO delicious I practically inhaled the thing! Can't wait to go back and try more of the options, as some nearby shop workers told me they dream of the chips and salsa and items like the buffalo chicken and BBQ are go to choices. Thanks for the awesome experience and I can't wait to go back.

The food was excellent but the service was ok. The inside is quite dark and loud. The chips, salsa and guacamole is delicious along with the tacos, burritos, and rice and beans. Prices are very reasonable. Note that kid meals for a taco only have 1 taco and chips. We are inside. The atmosphere is all right. There are a couple of two person tables on the sidewalk outdoors. Be aware they only take cash.

After hearing rave reviews about No Problemo for years, I was finally able to try them out for myself after moving back to the area. Let me just say that I get it now. I ordered two chicken burritos for myself and a family member and was pleasantly shocked at how large it was. Now, I’ve had big burritos before from other establishments only to be let down by quality. That was NOT the case with No Problemo. Not only was my burrito delicious, it was clear that the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. And all of this for a very fair and reasonable price to boot - a rarity nowadays! I’m definitely going to be a repeat customer! *Cash only, with an ATM on premises*

No Problemo in New Bedford is a solid spot for Mexican food. I’ve tried their loaded nachos, quesadillas, salads and tacos — the Korean chicken barbecue tacos are a favorite! Cocktails are great too, with lots of variety. Overall, really good food and a fun place to eat.
Jishnu N — Google review
The food is so so good! Tacos are AMAZING!!! Crispy and tasty with incredible melty cheese. I drove all the way Down from Boston for This.
Kavya S — Google review
My wife and I were looking for a restaurant while staying in the area that was open late and had great reviews which is how we found this local gem. The atmosphere and decor is very cool coming from a Hispanic and has a great vibe. Our waiter was nice and he did a great job explaining some of the plates as it was our first time and was alsoveey accommodating when i requested a taco variation that was not on the menu options. I would highly recommend this place as good go to if you're feeling like Mexican food and a good selection of items. Having Del's lemonade was a positive since I had heard it was the lemonade of the Northeast. They also have in house red and green salsas, which were both very good but I enjoyed the green one more.
Mike G — Google review
I'm writing this not after my first visit and it will definitely not be my last. No Problemo DEFINITELY has the best burrito in all of the south coast. Make sure to bring cash. I'd advise to order take out - the service is not the best when you dine in, I mean, the waitress doesn't need to be giggling all the time and riding a unicorn but she could definitely work on trying to be a bit nicer, but the guys in the kitchen side are the best. This has already become my go to.
Larissa M — Google review
I travel a lot for work and just got back from Arizona, a place you would think would have some exceptional Mexican food and in some places it did BUT all I could wait to do was get back to New B and No Problemo for my Stinkin' Rose. Hands down some of the best if not THE best food in the South Coast area. The only other city that reminds me of this restaurant would be San Diego definitely got that vibe too and it's my favorite place to go for work so make sense why I love No Problemo. Chill vibe, legendary food and great staff. You can't ask for much more.

Fine dining restaurant
The Black Whale is a contemporary bar and eatery located on the Working Waterfront Pier 3 in New Bedford. It was established by locals to celebrate the city's seafaring heritage and its abundant seafood offerings. The restaurant prides itself on serving fresh, innovative seafood dishes and raw shellfish while offering picturesque harbor views. The friendly staff is knowledgeable about the menu and provides excellent customer service.
Stopped in for a quick lunch and bellied up to the bar. The place is clean and staff is wicked friendly. While I just got Sushi and Raw oysters, I was peeping the heaping plates of other entrees going by and they're quality looking and smelling dishes. The sushi tasted fresh and delicious. The oysters weren't bad for $3 a pop. Also, I was stoked they had multiple options for NA beers as it pairs well with food guilt free for the sober patrons. Connor was an absolute gem. I can't wait to go back for their Happy hour with $1 oysters. Try this scenic spot out in historical downtown and you won't be upset.

We had just returned from Nantucket by ferry. We were hungry so we were looking for somewhere convenient and close. We didn’t expect to find such a wonderful restaurant. It was fully booked but we were able to sit at the bar which serves the entire food menu. The vibe was upbeat and the food was fantastic. I had the seafood soup and my cousins had the chowder. Both were excellent but if I were to come back I would order the chowder, I just wanted to save in the calories. The oysters were super fresh and delicious. The desert was not memorable, too sweet. And I was surprised that they did not serve key lime pie which is a staple in any seafood restaurant’s menu.

This place is a great place to dine. Would certainly recommend seeking reservations due to the bustling atmosphere. Nevertheless the food menu have quite a few good and hearty bites to eat. So yes come with a appetite. The Staff is very welcoming, and definitely will accommodate their guest. This place was on my go to list, glad I got the chance to experience "The BlackWhale" but I must come back again.

We had dinner here on vacation. I really loved the fact that they gave us a complimentary smoked fish dip with crackers which was delicious. They had gluten free options. The chicken lettuce wrap appetizer, the salmon & the breaded cod aa well as the sushi were flavorful & delicious. The lavender lemonade was to die for.

We had a fantastic dinner at the Black Whale. Appetizer: Blue Fin Tuna Nachos. They were incredible, perfectly balanced flavors. The cilantro and scallions made the nachos pop! We had the Jerk Salmon Salad and Lemon Pesto Halibut. Both entrees were great. Good serving sizes, not too big- the tuna nachos were quite a bit of food for two people. The view out the back of the restaurant was great during sunset (opposite side of restaurant). All the boats in the harbor were lit up in golden hour. 2 people: two drinks, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, $130 after tip.

This spot was very highly recommended, but I am not sure it lived up to the hype. Everything was good, but I expected a bit more more based on the reviews and comments. The first night, one bacon wrapped scallop, the calamari and a Portuguese stew was all I could muster the strength to eat (had been feasting all day on other stuff in the area). The stew was outstanding, the calamari was good but not amazing. Pro tip: drizzle the honey from the scallops in the calamari 🐽🐽 The following morning I ordered (to go) a lobster roll and the crab cakes. The lobster roll was a bit small but good, I was just not a huge fan of the diner roll. The crab cakes were good but a bit on the fishy side. The fries were very good lol.

Absolutely fabulous - once again. The Black Whale is over an hour drive from our home, but well worth it. This time we tried the sashimi. The yellowtail was like butter. For entrees we had the Sesame-Crusted Seared Tuna with Jicama Slaw and Black Forbidden Rice (don’t miss this one!) and the Blackened Swordfish with Crispy Polenta and Roasted Broccolini. Both very well created, cooked and presented with very generous portions. Especially impressed with the thick cut of swordfish. The tuna entrée was especially good with the soy sauce and wasabi from our sashimi appetizer. One of the best meals out we’ve had in quite a while - and service was excellent thanks to our server. Thank you, Paul!

This place is great. We had a surprise birthday party in the separate room. Atmosphere, food, and service are excellent. I had the best Moscato I've ever tasted. The salmon, ribs tips, chicken, and ceasar salad were delicious. I would try this place again.

Update: 6/3/23 2nd time visiting Freestones since New management took over. Todays visit was excellent. Let me just say the steak tips and chicken pasta was outstanding. Best I've had from here. Smooth transaction, food ready upon arrival. Added an order of ultimate Nachos which was good as well. Wife was happy with the traditional French dip as well. Bumped up the score. Today's visit was close to 5-stars. They did miss the au jus sauce for the French dip. 🤷‍♂️ Previous Review: Ordered take out on a busy Saturday night and let's just say they tested my patience. Made the call, placed on hold. 15 minutes later, still nothing. Call back, someone takes my order. Quoted 40 minutes, okay no problem. Show up, sir it's gonna be another 10 minutes, okay no problem. Well 10 minutes turned into 30 minutes. 🤦🏻‍♂️Now I'm hangry. Anyways beyond the horrible time management, the good news is that the food was good. Started with the fish chowder and it was good. Not quite award winning, but runner up quality. Main dish was tips and chicken pasta and it was solid. Rest of the family went with French onion soup, Firecracker chicken wrap, and tenders. Everyone was either happy or just really hungry from the extra wait. 🤣 Be patient people, it was good.

Went here for cocktails and was pleased with my Old Fashioned & Sangria. Both were delicious and fairly-priced. Service was very friendly and attentive. I love the ambiance & decor of this place. It was originally a 19th century bank and the owners retained many of the old world design cues and charm of the building. Big thumbs up for that. I was very pleased with my inaugural visit to Freestone’s and look forward to dining in on my next visit.

Such a cute little restaurant set in Downtown New Bedford! From the outside cute little bistro tables with ivy and vines on the front of the brick building to the cobblestone streets. Inside its a quiet little dining spot. So truth be told I came here 2 times in the past week because the food was so good. I ordered the quesadillas and my friend ordered the gold fever mac and cheese when we dined in the first day. I couldn't stop eating the mac and cheese. So I had to order out 3 days later the same mac and cheese for myself. The server was very friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. It is definitely a restaurant I recommend highly and I will be going back many times.
Heidi G — Google review
Loved our experience here. We were seated quickly and the food was delicious! The price point was not outrageous and definitely worth the value in what you pay. I was impressed with our server as she was attentive but not overbearing. Staying on top of refills and checking in without pestering. This allowed us to enjoy a great dinner conversation and enjoy our food to the max! I have to put a plug in specifically for the fish soup. I got a cup and wish it had been a bowl! Haha. Definitely a must try! Both my wife and I did burgers for our main course and they were juicy, well cooked, and flavorful. The atmosphere is fun! Great touches throughout the space and even above average finishes in the restrooms! We will definitely be back again!

I am not one to complain unless I have a really bad experience at a restaurant. I truly could not believe how much the quality tanked at Freestones since they re-opened. I went on a Tuesday night for trivia and though it was not busy, it took a very long time for my drink order. I ordered the nachos and was very disappointed in the quality. The guacamole (basically just mashed up dry avocado with no flavor) tasted like paste and the nachos also had little to no flavor. There was barely any pico de galo sauce so they were very dry. The menu said they came with sour cream, but I had to ask the server for some, to which they replied "Well you have to ask for that".... My friends Firecracker Chicken wrap was basically a few pieces of chicken in a sad little wrap with barely anything else in it. If I hadn't paid half price I probably would have complained. I also could not believe how expensive everything on the menu was. I know prices have gone up, but the food I saw was nothing to rave about and not worth the price tag. The only thing they seem to have going for them is the atmosphere, it's a beautiful place, but the food was absolutely sub-par. Save your $ and eat at one of the better places downtown.

We went for lunch on a Friday. Place was not busy. Got seated immediately. Cool little restaurant downtown with interesting ambiance. Drinks are great! I recommend the compassion martini. Best part was the food. Fresh fresh fresh. And the waitstaff was so attentive. She was super friendly and careful about my food allergy.

With a strong influence from Portugal and its former colonial islands, Antonio's offers authentic Portuguese cuisine, including specialties like pork alentejana and cacoila.
Service was amazing! Portions were extraordinary! Price was right on point. Party of 8. They took us at 8, they close at 9. We left at 10. They did not force us out, they allowed us enough time. Enjoy this beautiful Portuguese food. You won't regret it. Thank you Victoria for a pleasant experience.

People raved about this restaurant, so I was excited to order the "Chicken Antonio and Shrimp." The menu description said the dish came with Mozambique sauce and fried potatoes. The restaurant name is in the dish. That must be good, right? Nope. When the plate arrived, the fried potatoes were potato chips... and they covered the entire meal. See picture. For my first time at a restaurant that people raved, I was disappointed. Next time, I'll get salmon or beef or something with veggies.

Taken here by a regular who insisted it was one of the best restaurants in NB and had been coming here for decades. Busy night, but seated right away. Waited about 15 minutes before a very seasoned and sassy waitress finally took a drink order. Ordered a Sam Oktoberfest on draft. That was a mistake. Smelled and tasted like the buttery sourness of a dirty draft line first-pour. Would've sent it back, but the waitress was again gone for another 15 minutes and by then just ordered food and an easy mixed cocktail. Fried seafood appetizers were great. Calamari and cod cakes. Fantastic. Littlenecks in a great garlicky broth were also wonderful. Ordered halibut with shrimp and scallops on special. Was excited as halibut isn't seen much these days on menus. Shrimp and scallops were great. The halibut was very over-cooked and leathery. Huge disappointment. "Round l-fries" are just potato chips. Should've had the mashed. Two swordfish orders at the table said the same of their fish. Maybe try a lunch sandwich here if nowhere else to go, but sticking with bottled beer and no grilled/baked fish.

Fathoms Waterfront Bar & Grille is a popular spot in New Bedford, offering seafood, cocktails, and live music nights. Mom and I went today. It’s a nice large space. The staff was really friendly. Mom had sautéed lobster in a cherry sauce with mashed potatoes and asparagus.. The steamers were really good. You could taste and see garlic, hot pepper flakes tons of flavor in the broth could use a little more clams ! lol I had a lobster roll with a nice toasted bun. You’re able to get two sides with that as well fries and coleslaw. They have a fish market right next-door. Lots of great fresh seafood. The prices are unbelievable. It was worth a trip from Milton. I didn’t have any drinks, but I love a martini and they have large glasses for the martinis. They also had steamed lobster on the menu. The menu is pretty expansive.

I wish I could give a higher rating for the food, but sadly I cannot. Had the scallops and clam dinner with broccoli. Broccoli was cold. Seriously only had 5 scallops and a kid size portion of clams. They were just ok as the scallops were gummy. Also had the swordfish...very small portiion and the asparagus was burnt. Very busy place that seems to put making $$ over quality. Was super excited to try this place and was really disappointed.

Sunday night around 5:30. We were greeted immediately. Got a good vibe right away. The bar was jammed and people were having a good time—some had food. Bartenders were extremely busy. We sat outside (not at a hi-top)) with a nice water view. Server, Carla came right away. Room was busy but not crazy. Wine first and chowder next—absolutely delicious—then we ordered pan fried scallops and a fried clam dinner. By far the most satisfying and memorable seafood we have had in months! Clams crispy. Fresh, cooked to perfection. Scallops melt in your mouth savory and tasted like just caught but not the least bit sandy. For dessert we shared a slice of carrot cake that was soooo light with frosting not too sticky sweet—just perfect. And we already know we found a new place for a satisfying dinner. And the prices were very fair as well. Thank you Carla!

Not a lot of parking but worth the walk when you find a spot .. Bufana Sandwich is delicious, meat full of flavor and tender.. you have to try one. Made with marinated roasted red peppers.. over the top delicious. Shrimp Mozambique smells amazing and tastes is even better.. the only thing I would change is to use larger shrimp. Bacalau cakes cooked perfectly and a nice dipping sauce. Highly recommend Tia Maria’s

This was one of the best breakfast restaurants I have ever been to. The home fries are wonderful, the best you will find! The food was tasty and the service was fast and efficient. The only downside was that it was too loud inside, I could not talk or hear my husband sitting across from me. I will definitely be returning.

Went for dinner on a Saturday. Bread was beautiful, fresh. Servers were really nice guys (I believe Nick helped us) working together, and the pork alentejada was by far the BEST dish I’ve had at a restaurant in America, period. So fresh, tender, ENORMOUS portion, and simply well done. The whole meal cost well below what I expected with no “catch.” I’m making a point to visit every time I’m in NB

We’re confident in saying we’re regulars here. Tia’s is hands-down our go-to brunch spot! The food is always delicious, the vibes are cozy, and the service is top-tier. We’ve never had a bad waitress; everyone is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Let’s talk about the lattes!!! My personal latte ranking: 1) Malassadas Latte 2) Bolacha Maria Latte 3) Pastel de Nata Latte – yes, it actually comes with a pastel de nata on top 😍 They offer dairy substitutes like oat and almond milk, which is a lifesaver for my fellow lactose-intolerant folks! Their brunch specials never miss. I still think about their avocado toast they had a while back. Can’t wait for it to come back! And don’t even get me started on the French toast. The dulce de leche version was incredible, and this weekend’s Madeira wine French toast… I could eat it every day of the week. My go-to order is simple but always hits: scrambled eggs with Queijo São Jorge, home fries, bacon, and a bolo levedo grilled with butter. Comfort food perfection. Best Portuguese spot around and easily the best place for brunch. Don’t walk, RUN 🏃🏻‍♀️

The Beast of Breakfast and More! Tia Maria’s European Cafe is the place to go for breakfast. Outstanding Service and More! I love this restaurant for the staff who treat customers like family. The food is what you will always enjoy.

Love love love the way this place is decorated! Definitely has the traditional Portuguese flare. The menu has a lot of options to choose from-savory-sweet and classics. They have a few different coffee options to choose from. The sweet bread, toasted with butter was yum! The prices are also very reasonable. The tosta mista was salty-I’m thinking it was the ham. The Maria bolacha latte was too sweet. If it was toned down a bit on the sugar, it would be sooo good. There is plenty of street parking (meters) and the area is worth taking a walk around.

I had the Azores burger w the amazing sao paulo cheese and pineapple and a fresh ans fruity sangria. Othets in my party really enjoyed the handcrafted iced coffee drinks. Reasonable prices for great flavor, quality, atmosphere and friendly service

OK, so places is great. Food came out so fast honestly before my drinks, I usually don’t like. I didn’t mind because my kid was super hungry so it was a win! Not to mention, it was pretty busy Sunday morning

Cork Wine and Tapas is a charming rustic-chic lounge located in Historic Downtown New Bedford. It offers a diverse menu featuring globally inspired small plates and full entrees, catering to both vegetarians and meat lovers. The venue provides various dining experiences, from cozy indoor spaces to streetside outdoor seating. Guests can enjoy live acoustic guitar music while savoring a charcuterie board and trying the must-try orange wine.
Second time there and there will definitely be more visits. The food is delicious. Drinks are always a hit! I had an issue with the truffle fries being overcooked and the server had no problem going back to the chef to get a new batch.

Very disappointing experience. Came here for New Years dinner with friends and our drinks were incorrect, I was brought the wrong food originally, as we began ordering the waitress told us the multiple items on the menu that were unavailable, and the food was extremely subpar. The menu is confusing, as they advertise themselves as a tapas bar, the small plates menu is very limited and priced as if they were entrees. The chimichurri mussels were not terrible. Consider this a higher end Applebee's. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be returning.

Tried Cork Wine and Tapas for the first time in a long time. Not sure why I waited so long. Everything was excellent and I would argue that they offer up some of the best appetizers in the area. The Calamari was excellent. Well seasoned, crunchy and not rubbery or over cooked. Philly cheese steak rolls were good, came with a good dipping sauce. The truffle fries with garlic aioli were great. The landsliders were really, really good as well. Wife got a expresso martini which was good as well. Looking forward to a return trip.

Went there last night for dinner with my friend. The service, food and atmosphere were great. Unfortunately I forgot my sunglasses and when I called cork this morning to check if they found it, who ever answered the phone said that she did not have it and I mentioned I was sitting outside, and she told me I was welcome to go there and look for it. She could have been a little nice like “can you call later, I can check - if she was busy, or check or go outside and take a Quick Look. I think was so rude and I don’t understand why people can’t be nice. Luckily my husband works around the area and he stopped by, he found the glasses near the table I was sitting. So today, I will give 5 starts to my husband.

We made a reservation. it was freezing inside. I immediately ordered a drink and My Husband ordered tacos before he even ordered his drink. The tacos didn’t come till after our friend ordered a dessert that was at least an hour later. The tacos shells tasted old and there was little no cod in them. My husband said the cod was over cooked. I tried a bite and all I got was a mouth full of pickled onion and old taco shell. Don’t get these. A bigger problem was it was hard to get the attention of the waitstaff. It didn’t even look that busy. We would flag down anyone we could which was embarrassing enough and they just kept saying someone would be right with us. I finished my wine before the charcuterie board even arrived and couldn’t get more till after the board was finished. It was sad. The board was good though but I think the menu said it would include pickles and these were left. We sat cold a very long time till we could get the check and then again for them to pick up the check. They forgot our wine order while we waited for the check but they comped one glass for my friend but at this point we had waited so long we didn’t want the wine and just wanted to go home. The table next to us sat after us and left before us. I went here specifically because they had wine flights but sadly I won’t be returning. The live entertainment was nice though, but the upright bassist played two songs then left. 😅

Must go to restaurant; if you enjoy the taste of delectable, well synchronize plate licking dishes and salubrious inventive drinks. I only learned of this place from a musician who regularly plays music here at the Cork (CarSon Acoustic) and he spoke very highly of this place. So my wife and I decided to enjoy our 15 year anniversary dinner this time around here at the Cork. Iam glad we did.

We were graciously welcomed by our waitress as the very first patrons of this Saturday afternoon. She kindly recognized that we were newcomers and provided us with insights about the establishment. ❤️😁 Following her recommendation, we indulged in the empanada special, which proved to be absolutely delightful. For our main courses, my wife opted for the Tommy Oliver 🟢 Burger, which was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. She paired it with the regular fries, perfectly golden and seasoned to perfection. 🍔🧀 As for me, I savored the Mushroom Swiss Burger with a side of Truffle fries, which were nothing short of exceptional. My burger, without a doubt, ranks among the top 10 burgers I've ever had – juicy, scrumptious, and a true masterpiece of beef. ❤️👍 While this visit marked our first, it certainly won't be our last. A heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful staff!

Just moved to New Bedford and this was my first time at Cork Wine and Tapas. My wife and I took her sister and husband. We will definitely be coming back! The drinks were terrific, our dinners were delectable, and we had a great time sitting at the outdoor tables. The wait staff were great and allowed us to really take our time, relax, and enjoy ourselves, while still checking in with us periodically. The downtown section of New Bedford around Union Street is a happening place.

Churrascaria Novo Mundo is a modest yet delightful eatery celebrated for its flame-grilled chicken and traditional Portuguese dishes. The restaurant's unassuming exterior belies the exceptional culinary experience that awaits inside. Renowned for their perfectly toasted half-chickens cooked on a unique indoor barbecue spit, Churrascaria Novo Mundo also offers an array of delectable sides like fries and rice.
We go to cuttyhunk every summer and always make it a point to get food from here before catching the ferry. Everything is delicious but make sure to try the rotisserie chicken and hot sauce. I wish I could bottle the hot sauce and eat it every day! The staff is always friendly and I have never had a bad meal!

THE SERVICE: Prompt and friendly service for takeout. I was provided a menu to browse and then offered a seat. As a new customer, I appreciated the waitress’ detailed description about the dishes I inquired about. The restaurant is small, but they make good use of the limited space. The atmosphere was bustling but inviting. THE FOOD: I ordered the grilled pork chops which came with white rice and fries. I paid extra for their signature hot sauce which proved to be the saving grace. The pork chops were cooked to the perfect temperature, but bland. I could not detect the marinade or spice blend. The white rice had a nice flavor profile and texture. The fries were industry standard. The homemade hot sauce truly elevated the flavor profile of the meal- it was simply delicious and I regret not purchases more. THE VALUE: Portions are in abundance for an affordable price. I am looking forward to further exploring the menu. THE OPPORTUNITY: The restaurant was a little challenging to locate. Unlike the picture online, the sign is now flush to the building making it hard to spot while driving. Adding signage to the front door would also be helpful because I initially thought the restaurant was a private space and walked past it. I waited for my order in my vehicle and saw a few patrons also walk by the entrance, double back, and then tentatively push the unmarked door open.

A New Bedford Gem and a Staple - for a good reason. We dined-in for lunch, but I have been here dozens of times over the years. Service was impeccable, their signature rotisserie chicken is the best I've ever had. Portions are very large and very reasonably priced. The house red wine is great. The atmosphere feels like I'm a welcome guest in Portugal. I'll be back again

Found this restaurant on Google and thought we would give it a try. It feels like a special local find that you don't stumble upon at random. It was busy with regulars but we fit right in. I had a few questions about the menu and the waitress was a great help. The food was really good and I would like to go back to try some other items. There is nice bakery next store too.

I found this place using Google looking for good Portuguese food. The name of the restaurant translates to mean "new world barbeque or steakhouse". They are known for their rotisserie chicken. You've never had chicken this juicy or well seasoned as this. The half chicken with rice and fries runs $15.00. GREAT VALUE. The beers are too expensive, but it goes well with the food. Parking is tough, and the restaurant is small, but we'll managed and staffed. If you're not into chicken, the ribs look awesome. This is a DEFINITE return destination.

Great service and amazing food! We had half chicken, half rack ribs with rice and fries. Delicious red wine and chocolate crème brûlée with espresso were all incredible. We will be back soon.

A very authentic Portuguese restaurant where all the locals go. It's very small and in the middle of the neighborhood. Men are hanging around outside shooting the breeze with each other, some come inside & have a drink at the small bar in the corner, all speaking Portuguese. They are known for their rotisierre chicken which you can see them roasting inside on a fire pit as soon as you walk in. It's very tender & delicious and come with a big heaping of perfectly fried shoestring fries and the best tasting rice I've had in a long time. And coming from an Asian, that's a big compliment. My friend had their Jr. steak which he said was very flavorful and tender as well. It came with a fried egg on top and the same rice & fries. We also had a bowl of their kale soup, which I enjoyed so much that I made some similar when we got home. I highly recommend you stop in for a bite. Don't let the looks of the neighbour scare you off. Everyone is extremely friendly & like to joke around.

we have loved this place since day 1!! My partner and I met downtown and used to frequent a few great spots around the area, brick included! the pizza itself is expensive, but well worth it in all honesty. there's an outlet by the windows as well as flyers for different events around the city. the staff have always been pretty upbeat & pleasant to talk with. we took my sister prior to her brain surgery last week, after us not having visited for a good while- still as great as it ever was! we tried the ice cream this time around which was pretty rich in taste. I enjoy that we can chat, play some Go Fish or draw in my sketchbook while eating pizza and they truly don't mind. We will definitely return again some day soon 💚

Great food and amazing vibe. Felt like we were dining back in the '30s with the smooth jazz and beautiful interior. One complaint we had was our plates weren't the cleanest, however this was quickly forgotten as our server brought us free canolis for having given us our pizza "too late" (We didn't think it was late at all!).

Best pizza in the city, hands down! The dough is so fresh and also the ingredients. You can actually taste the difference in the texture of the pizza dough. 🍕 The people that work there are very cool, mostly quiet, and focused on crafting great pizza right there in front of you. There is a brick oven that does the job right there for all to see. If you want the freshest pizza you should definitely stop by Brick!

If you have a short or long stay in New Bedford this place is a must do. We did takeout of a salad and two sandwiches. The weight of the salad was indicative of its quality, a wide variety of ingredients all super fresh. The single salad was enough for two of us to share. We both got tuna sandwiches and the tuna mix had a mix of seasoning, herbs, and dressing and no mayo. Great food at a low price considering the taste and freshness.

I came here for karaoke on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend 2025. It was a good big rowdy crowd of friendly folks and the DJ ran a good show. I didn't eat there, but my Black Russian was good sized and very well made. If you love karaoke and you are coming to New Bedford, definitely worth a visit. Get there earlier, it did get very crowded. When I left at about midnight the line was out the door. A very good indicator. 😄👍

Beautiful night in New Bedford. Three of my friends and myself wandered down towards the cobblestone district. A street concert was going on. My friends and I went to Rose Alley. Rose Alley of course no longer has the roses but it also does not need to cover the pungent smell of whale oil. This New Bedford mainstay was not packed. The gang grabbed seats on the outdoor patio. We could hear the live music from a few blocks over. Our server was Chloe, who was very great! She wrote down our order. My friend had very specific requirements for his burger. Anyways I had a house salad with shrimp and 1 dozen garlic herb dry rub chicken wings. The salad was...drumroll...a salad. Lots of lettuce...very fresh, diced tomatoes were really good...again it was a salad....had six nice grilled shrimp. But the wings were amazing. Little crisp. Very meaty. Dipped into chunky blue cheese dressing. I mean the only fault was the celery....but drumroll...fake stick salad :).... The wings are hands down an A. My friends had the boneless. They had sweet chili for one order and Mozambique for the other. One had fries. One had fried pickles. Both gave their chicken tenders A plus. The fried pickles came with no dipping sauce was the only criticism by one of them. My other friend refused to give me a review and stated people should just come there. He must of like it because he was first done. Overall for 4 people with $103.00 tip $128.00. Chloe, the server did a great job by being detail oriented, by being available when needed, and just really friendly. The atmosphere allowed for conversations, not overly crowded... I give Rose Alley at 7-8:15 = A+.

Great vibe and very crowded because it is popular with the local crowd. If the bartender knows you service is great, other than that you may wait a bit between rounds. Food was general pub type and taste good. Cool bar in a great downtown location. Parking can be a challenge at times but you will eventually find a spot. All in all this is a must visit for a drink or bite to eat when in New Bedford.

Entrance was a little hard to find, (I entered down stairs) Sat at the bar & I had great service from Bre! Food was amazing, wings had a ton of flavor & were well seasoned. Sweet Potato fries were PERFECT, crispy outside & perfectly creamy tender inside with just a lil bounce! Even my lil side salad was well put together! Definitely recommend this place for anybody looking for a nice place to get some drinks & some amazing American Bar food!

What happened to this place? They used to have the best chicken tenders and sauces for them in New England. Now it all just tastes wrong. The hot sauce was bland, and the Mozambique just tasted like bitter garlic. What a shame!

I really liked this place! Went here with family for a few weekend cocktails and wasn’t disappointed! First off, it’s located in New Bedford’s historic downtown, replete with cobblestone streets and all. You feel like you’re going back in time before you even enter. The bar itself also has an old, historic, New England tavern look and feel to it. Loads of character. There’s a main bar on the first floor, where they also serve food (I didn’t eat) and also have live bands. If you head downstairs, you’ll find yet another bar, albeit smaller than the upstairs one. This is where we decided to sit and imbibe. It seemed more geared towards cocktails and liquor than beer judging by what was on the shelves. I ordered an Old Fashioned made with Bulleit Bourbon. It was delicious and strong. I hate weak cocktails. My family ordered two rounds espresso martinis and similarly loved them (as attested to by the TWO rounds lol!). The bartender was excellent. Super friendly and funny. Big thumbs up. I can’t wait to return to this place again!

It’s really bothers me to even put this restaurant on blast but I’m in total shock. I love this place. Order from them at least 3 times a month. I always order their fried chicken sandwich. If this was my establishment I would never let this leave the kitchen. Never mind pack it to go. This is the thinnest piece of “chicken breast” I’ve ever seen. I should’ve just gotten a mc chicken. The quahog looks like throw up. SMH. I’m putting everything in my oven now, hopefully it will taste better than it looks. Very disappointed.

Boston Logan International Airport

International airport
Airport
Boston Logan International Airport is a major hub in the Northeast, with direct rail service to the city of Boston. The Embassy Suites by Hilton Boston at Logan Airport offers convenient access to the airport and downtown, with free breakfast and 24-hour shuttle service. Travelers staying near Downtown Waterfront, Seaport, Charlestown, or the North End can take a water taxi from the airport terminals.
This is my new favorite airport in America. I Had a really smooth experience at Terminal E. Security was quick and easy, which made getting through stress-free. The British Airways lounge was great with plenty of seating and a nice variety of food options. The shuttle bus between terminals was fast, convenient, and made it simple to get around. Overall, everything felt well organized and traveler-friendly.

Boston Logan Airport was quite busy at security, but everything moved fairly smoothly. The terminal itself was impressively neat and clean, which made the overall experience pleasant. The waiting areas were comfortable and well-maintained, offering a relaxed vibe before boarding. There’s a small duty-free section—not huge, but enough for a quick browse. Overall, a solid airport experience with room for minor improvements in crowd management.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Boston Logan International Airport ✈️ is one of the most efficient and welcoming airports around! Even international arrivals 🌍 are a breeze — thanks to the MPC app 📱, you can zip through customs in minutes! 🙌 Departing is smooth too — security is quick ⏱️ and the atmosphere is surprisingly relaxing. 🎶 Don’t miss the beautiful Steinway Grand piano 🎹 in the waiting area — a classy touch that makes travel feel special! 💼✨
Anthony C — Google review
generally smooth and efficient travel experience, especially when it comes to domestic connectivity and overall airport accessibility. The airport is well-connected to the city, with various transportation options including taxis, ride-shares, the Silver Line, and shuttles — making arrival and departure quite convenient. However, one noticeable drawback is the distance between terminals, especially when traveling internationally. The international terminal (Terminal E) is quite far from the other terminals, and the current airport transportation system doesn’t make inter-terminal transfers as seamless as they should be. For travelers with tight layovers or connecting international flights, this can be quite stressful and time-consuming.
Krunal S — Google review
Not bad experience for taking a flight, the line wasn't long but it was so slow. The airpot was clean and cool. Not many food options at the American Airlines terminal B 1, but the computer work stations are great.

The airport is clean, well organized, and easy to navigate. Security and check-in lines move quickly, and staff are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of food options, comfortable seating areas, and charging stations throughout the terminals. Signs are clear, making it simple to find gates and baggage claim. Overall, a smooth and stress-free travel experience one of the better airports in the U.S.!

A real true landmark, over 100 years old. Boston Logan International Airport opened on September 8, 1923, as "Boston Airport" or "Jeffrey Field" and was initially used by the Massachusetts Air National Guard and the U.S. Army Air Corps. Commercial passenger service began in 1927, and the airport was officially renamed in honor of General Edward Lawrence Logan in 1943. The airport has since expanded significantly, becoming a major transatlantic hub and undergoing modernization projects, including the addition of a new runway in 2006.

Good: ✅ I appreciated having airside access to all terminals during a layover. ✅ Good selection of restaurants airside. ✅ Clean and convenient restrooms. ✅ Wide concourses move large amounts of passengers. ✅ Good looking airport—easy on the eyes. ✅ Good signage making navigation easy. Bad: ❌ Terminals are long and connected end-to-end. There are no shortcuts or trains, so moving around can be a good workout. This rating based on a single, layover visit. I did not experience the landside or any security checkpoint.

Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport

International airport
Airport
Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport is a regional airport located in Warwick, Rhode Island, with direct rail service to Providence. The airport features good signage and efficient lines for baggage claim and rental car pick-up. While it may be a bit of a walk from the gates to the rental car area, overall navigation is easy. Visitors appreciate the helpful and friendly staff as well as the clean and pleasant bathrooms, which are equipped with modern amenities like automatic toilet seat covers and fresh plants.
This airport 🛫 is very easy and accessible from where I live and it's a short and more direct drive and traffic to go here to this airport than Boston Logan Airport. The TSA is far better than airports, easier and more pleasant, and their lanes go quickly. The bathrooms are beyond clean and immaculate and by far the safest the have the long walls and there always well- kept up ! Other airports bathrooms aren't up to par . This is a decent airport and me and my family and I have been coming to T. F. Green for many many years, and we love flying out of their airport. It's a small airport but a good one ! Never had a problem with this airport, I would rather fly out of T.F. Green any given day, then Boston Logan Airport. The whole overall experience is a much better one ! Love this airport! We fly frequently to do wellness checks on my very " Elderly Grandparents " who live in Florida. So I personally and highly recommend flying out of T.F. Green Providence Airport 🛫 🛬!

Took the bus from downtown to the airport. It was fantastic. Took about 40 - 50 mins. The driver was polite and helpful. Bus drops you right in front of the airport. 1-2 min later, I’m upstairs at the tsa gate. Breezed through at w/in 5-29 min. As of this review, didn’t need to take out or off anything (electronics nor shoes). Just placed bags in bins and away we go. Women’s bathroom was bright, clean, welcoming with modern conveniences - - natural lights - fresh flowers - deep sink with built in efficient air hand dryer - no need for paper - automated toilet seat covers and flushes - tall stall doors with occupied / available indicators. Now, if they can just get the water temperature cooler. Not sure why airport bathroom faucet temps tend to be on the too hot (borderline burning) temps.

Security was very quick. Bathrooms were very clean and spacious. Half the airport is under construction and there are no bathrooms open at one end of the terminal. Baggage claim was quick.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt compelled to write a review for an airport before, but I’m genuinely impressed with how TF Green has evolved. It’s become such a welcoming, elegant, and modern airport. I know it’s not the biggest airport — and honestly, I kind of appreciate that — but what really stands out is the calm, relaxed, and professional energy it now has. Maybe it’s because I’ve flown in the middle of the week and not during peak hours, but the last few times I’ve traveled through here, the atmosphere has been consistently smooth and pleasant. It’s a huge change from the past when it used to feel tense and chaotic. Even TSA and airport staff have noticeably shifted their tone and energy. Everyone seems friendlier, calmer, and genuinely focused on good service. I don’t feel rushed or stressed — and that alone makes a big difference. The terminals look great, the bathrooms are clean and sophisticated, and the overall layout feels much more efficient. Whatever changes were made — they worked. I can see why TF Green was recently voted one of the best airports. After flying through several times since August, I completely agree. Great job, TF Green team 👏✈️

Although parts are under construction, we enjoyed the cafe in the baggage claim area and the military lounge before checking in for our flight. Restrooms are top notch—newly renovated—and security checkpoint was quick and easy.

I usually wouldn't review an airport but this airport was extraordinarily clean and nice. The restrooms were spotless. No dirty, no messes, no trash. The stalls went nearly all the way to the ground and had nice looking wood veneer. The crown jewel however was the toilet if you can believe it. The motion sensor activates a plastic sleeve which wraps around the entire toilet seat in a circle for new coverage for every user. There are even videos on YouTube showing it in action. Never felt so clean, safe, and relaxed in a public restroom. After this experience and the overall cleanliness of Providence it's clear we live in a dump here in SoCal. Embarrassing.
