La Purísima Mission State Historic Park

State park
Sights & Landmarks
La Purísima Mission State Historic Park, located near Lompoc, CA, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. The park features a restored 1820s mission with original furnished buildings and offers self-guided tours. Visitors can explore the daily lives of Chumash people and Franciscan missionaries while wandering through the vast grounds and old structures. The park also provides opportunities for hiking and immersing in the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of California.
Had the place practically to ourselves, been here many times and it is positively the most peaceful location, don't miss the visitor center and the sad story of the native people who for better or worse were thrust into the Spanish world and ultimately nearly all dying from the old world diseases. We'll presented and the story of the rebuilding of the mission is quite amazing.

🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🤩 Last time I was here was back in summer 1988! Was an awesome visit then and just as great this time around in Spring 2025! If you are in Lompoc CA area do come visit! You won't be disappointed! The place overflows with history! You can feel it as you walk around from building to building and and around the grounds. And you have to do the Vista de La Cruz trail walk! The trail is 1/4 mile hike up hills!

Well thought out. Signage was very helpful. Wear good walking shoes. Paths are a bit uneven & plenty of steps at entrances. Beautiful grounds, well marked as what foliage was & how the plants were used in the lives of the people that lived in the mission.
Beckie S — Google review
This beautiful place is so nice. Open land. So much agriculture. Lots of shade. If you haven't gone here, it's a must go. The people who work here talk about the land and the way people lived in those days, what they, how they made clothes, the the fed off the land,. There's just so much knowledge and history about this place, etc. The Mission is blessed with Holy Spirit of those that never left. How the the people cooked. It's talks about how ppl hid in man made tunnels when earthquakes would come and destroy the land, and people died from being caved in. There's fountains where they would bathe and wash their clothing's. Wear tennie shoes 👞 👟.
Angel M — Google review
Heads up, its a replica, in a different location. Other than that its amazing. The artistry, craftsman ship stories, and overall setting. The docents are very knowledgeable, and the park staff are polite, and very helpful.
Keenan — Google review
I visited this Mission 15 years ago around this time (May), and this is the second time. It's a nice place to appreciate the past and learn a lot of things here
Phuong L — Google review
Really well done historical descriptions. Well unkept and Rob in the gift shop was amazing. Fourth graders get a special gift so be sure to ask.
Mike P — Google review
Definitely worth a stop! Only $6 per vehicle to get in. The woman working the entry was super friendly and informative! You may either walk around on your own or join a tour from the park ranger at the visitor center, where bathrooms are available. The grounds themselves are neat to explore and learn what their lives were like. The history and beauty of this place can't be described. We only had a little over an hour to spare and it was sufficient but a little more time would be preferable.

Great visit and the staff were very knowledgeable and provided great insight. Getting ready for their 160th anniversary. Building is a historic Carnegie museum building. Worth the visit!

First, love the old Carnegie Library building. Native American displays on the first floor. Bottom floor has history of the Lompoc area. Docents are proud of the city they live in and many are former school teachers. Donation based.

Really love the rotating Native American Artifacts. Today I had the opportunity to learn about the Navajo Mud Man. Very interesting and educational little museum.
R T — Google review
Such a cool experience for kids to see the history of our tribal Natives, city of Lompoc, and natural area. It’s chock full of super interesting things. I hope to come back by myself to enjoy them for longer and take it all in. The docents were very sweet with the kids and quite knowledgeable! Grab a pass from the Lompoc Library!

Great little museum in a Carnegie library building. Massive collection of Native American arrow heads. Lots of other Native American crafts also. Exhibits on mining in the area.

Came in for a visit. We are locals but haven't visited the museum in a long time. Don, the greeter at the door, was very informative about the museum and about the local history. If you are from here or not, great little museum to visit.

Lompoc Flower Fields

Mentioned on
11 lists
Lompoc Flower Fields, located in the City of Arts and Flowers, offers a stunning display of wildflowers from April to September. As the flower seed capital of the world, Lompoc boasts kaleidoscopic colors including California poppies and morning glory. Unlike other flower fields, this commercial farm supplies local florists with its blooms. The flowers stretch along Ocean Road and are best seen from spring to late summer.
I went there on April 25, there were no flowers on this field location. However, I found another flower fields in different location on Ocean Ave. (from the shopping centers, hotels, restaurants, Ryon Memorial parks area of Ocean Ave... drive down to Ocean Park, you will see a big flower fields on the left side of Ocean Ave, about 3-5 miles from hotels area). It's a big field with different flower colors, perfect for portrait photography, sightseeing. Recommend everyone to come here, near downtown of Lompoc. Workers at the field were also friendly, they enjoyed many people come to visit their flower fields.
Loan L — Google review
We visited May 4, 2025, and drove all the way along Ocean Blvd / SR 246, west to Union Sugar Avenue, north to West Central Avenue, then back east to Floradale Avenue, along the routes that are reported to be the best. The beautiful views you see in brochures from 30 years ago, are, unfortunately, a thing of the past. Only ~15% or less of the fields have flowers, and most are edible greens. The ones that did have flowers were not really that great when we were there (see photo below of the best spot). My wife was annoyed we'd gone out of our way to check it out, since we'd been to the "flower festival" a few years ago, and been told that the flower fields had been converted to vegetables growth quite a while ago, so she thought I should have known it would be a bust. If you were staying in Lompoc for several days in the spring, and didn't have much else to do, you could give it a shot, but you're likely to see at most one or two good fields, based on my experience. Please look at the pictures in other reviews - even some of the 5-star reviews say as much, or have underwhelming pictures, so I think "star inflation" is going on for this attraction. At least we didn't have to pay money to see it, although it was probably a 45-minute detour from the US-101 route we otherwise would have taken. I thought the Museum at the Mission was my favorite tourist site in Lompoc, for what it's worth. Lompoc has a lot of other good attractions, and we enjoyed staying the night back then, but this is not one we recommend.
Bob H — Google review
One of the best free flower fields in California. Unlike the flower field in Carlsbad, this one is an actual commercial flower farm where the flowers are supplied to the local florists in California. Depending on the season, you will see different flowers blooming. Just have to look for them. The flowers are stretching along Ocean Road. In order see the flowers, you have to come around spring until end of summer. We came around around the beginning of June, the Lavenders were in bloom. We got some nice shots of the flowers It’s totally worth coming. But please be mindful not to trample the flowers as the fields are private properties.
Regis K — Google review
Got to see nice bloom.. it’s not exact location as on the map but you can ask locals and they can give directions!
Sudarshan D — Google review
if you are in the area it is worth trying to find and see all of the beautiful flowers. if you can't find them just stop and ask a local.
David C — Google review
I love to see Lompoc flower field.
Yuko T — Google review
We dropped by at Lompoc Beautiful fields of pretty flowers as we are on the way to LA from san luis obispo. Its a private property so just be mindful not to step on the flowers. Its very colorful.

27Jan22(Continue my journey from 26th))My first trip from 101 San Diego to 101@1 San Francisco by coastway(pitstop@LOMPOC FLOWER FIELDS) unfortunately all the flowers been taken note the season… anyway I have a good view of the mountain and flowers fields

Old Town Lompoc is a charming blend of vintage and modern, featuring an impressive array of outdoor murals that depict the town's vibrant history and heritage. Visitors can embark on a self-guided mural tour, exploring the Lompoc Museum, Cypress Gallery, and various locally-owned shops along the way. Sissys Uptown Cafe, housed in Lompoc's original post office building, offers a delightful dining experience with homemade pies.
I was just walking through old town on the Southside reading the story murals of Lompoc's History. A little hidden botanical garden with a lovely mural adorning this little hidden spot. Sat on one of the benches with a friend and enjoyed it's beauty.

Visitors rave about the friendly and insightful staff who create a sense of calm before the exhilarating experience. Jumpers praise their phenomenal instructors for putting them at ease and ensuring a safe and thrilling adventure.
The place was pleasant and pet friendly. Wheel chair accessible and sufficient parking. We had a great time! We went tandem jump. Overall, it was a great experience, because this place is so desirable it has high foot traffic and long wait times. Schedule in advance, grab a bite to eat if you can stomach a meal. And enjoy the waiting areas merch and water and rest room. Supper friendly staff.
Alfredo T — Google review
Amazing experience! If you Morgan as your tandem partner, you're in good and funny hands. It was my first jump, and the view was amazing at 13k feet!
Nestor S — Google review
An awesome jump experience with incredibly friendly and personable staff. Mitchell was my jumpmaster, and I never felt nervous or hesitant for a moment. This was my third time skydiving, so I knew what to expect. That said, Mitchell was ready and willing to answer all my questions and from the minute we stepped on the plane to the moment we landed safely I knew he was in total control. Would recommend this jump for anyone looking for a great experience with incredible #Views.

It was an amazing experience. I jumped from 18,000 feet for the first time. Jess, Ethan, Daniel, and the rest of the crew (I'm sorry, I don't remember all of their names) were very professional. They answered all my questions, and safety was on the top of the list. I even ended up doing a second jump. It was a great way to celebrate my birthday. Thank you for such a great day. I'm definitely going back.
John Z — Google review
Great experience. Definitely doing this again. The instructors were great and helped us feel comfortable with the jump. The video was worth the purchase. It was really cool to look back at the experience and the instructor got a great video of the jump. We did the 13k ft jump, but I wish I would've done 18k ft.
Jonathan K — Google review
Excellent experience, service, and professionalism. Very well run by very nice people. Randy and Sean were really great and made us feel safe. The views were beautiful and it was all very thrilling. Highly recommended!
Amit L — Google review
Words cannot express what an experience this is!! The views and the people that work here are hands down the BEST! Everybody I encountered was so friendly, insightful, and made you even more excited to jump. I was nervous before I drove over, but as soon as I stepped foot onto the airport grounds.. a sense of calm came over me. This was a magical adventure and I am so happy I had the opportunity to jump with family, and friends that solo jump all the time. Shout-out to Zach for being a phenomenal instructor!!! He went over everything perfectly and I had such a fun time talking about the views on the way down. I felt safe the entire time. Don't think, JUST DO IT! I will definitely be jumping again!
Amanda V — Google review
100% RECOMMENDING Sean.... Thankyou so much for making me feel comfortable and SAFE. You were so professional yet you still were able to make me comfortable and I felt very safe. WE HAD A GREAT TIME WE WILL NEVER FORGET. I love the merch I got and the pictures were all great. The certificate at the end I am definitely framing and putting on the wall. It was intense. We still can't believe we overcame our fear and made it happen... but Sean we couldn't have done it with out you guys and I wish the whole team all the best and many more wonderful jumps. It's just so amazing. To Betsy, thank you so much for making us feel comfortable in the beginning and getting us all set up. I also want to give a special shout out to the guy that put our jumpsuits on and picked us up at the drop site. You were really professional and did a really great job as well and that everything was just really great. Thank you so much! I am so impressed!

Lompoc Aquatic Center

Public swimming pool
Lompoc Aquatic Center is a popular indoor recreation complex in Lompoc, CA. It offers a variety of amenities including lap pools, water playgrounds, and two 126-foot slides. The venue has a glass-frame and retractable roof that provides an outdoor ambiance. Visitors appreciate the affordable rates and family-friendly atmosphere. The pool features designated areas for lap swimming, diving, and shallow play. Many visitors praise the well-maintained water temperature which is ideal for kids.
$4.5 for kids, $5 for adult even if you don't swim. What I love the most is the water temperature here! It is very perfect for our kids. The control the water temperature pretty well. The downside may be the population. There are a bunch of kids as they open only 2 hours for recreation area. You can buy ticket before hands but have to wait until 1 pm to get the recreation swim. Line for slides was not that long. There were guards everywhere so I could sit back comfortably during my kid's fun time.
Rath S — Google review
My family of 6(2 adults, 4 kids, ages 2, 5, 14, 16) had an amazing time. It was about $30 something dollars for our whole family. But for 2 hours it was worth it. We went during the summer special recreational swim from 1pm-3pm. Plenty of life guards and it was not crowded. Our 5 year old was able to go down the smal water slides by his self and just roam the water playground without having to helicopter him. Of course we were more cautious with the 2 year old, but even him we were ble to roam semi freely. Of course the teenagers just did their thing. The water is kind of heated so not super cold. It is indoors. We weren't even able to last the whole 2 hours swimming though before the oldest een got kinf of bored(because you know that's what teens do). We lasted about and hour and half, so the price was worth it. The 5 year old and 14 year old would have stayed the whole time, but the teen and toddler were already stimulated out. Nothing against the facility though, it just those ages.
Cynthia M — Google review
Went there for the pups splash day it was so much fun all the life guards were super freindly
Jade A — Google review
Not here to pick bones, I am here to state: The lockers are not a bring your own lock type, and the Lock Key that is supposed to be in the port, 80% if not more, are missing the key. The reason for the five stars is the pool quality I’ve been swimming there since the years we were able to lock our gear with the keys that were once accessible for that purpose.
Aldo A — Google review
Very cool has small kid play area with two slides and two big water slides for big kids and a wading pool and reg pools in-between too. Very fun and not too expensive. Only open to public 1pm-3pm but usually we're tired by then but I would be nice to be open a little longer. Has restrooms and changing areas and locker rooms with showers and bathroom.
Alicia V — Google review
It's the best all tho there little slides it's rally fun!
Janet R — Google review
Nice indoor play area. Open rec times 1-3 only. Facility was clean and busy with plenty of lifeguards on duty.
JodyKay C — Google review
This was an amazing time with the kids! The slides are fast and fun, the little kid area was a blast too! You can rest easy watching your little ones swim and play in this entire area as there are at least 6-8 life guards watching at all times. You can also hop in and have some fun as well! Totally worth the money, I guess could have been longer swim times but 2 hrs is plenty with the little ones. Overall highly recommend!

Maintained by a firefighter and his family, the park is a popular spot for families to engage in outdoor activities. While some challenges like vandalism exist, the park provides a safe environment for kids to burn off energy through running and biking.
The bike park across the road is great! So many great trails from easy to more challenging. There is also a 1/3 mile fitness loop within the parameter.
Stephanie D — Google review
Terribly maintained, only 2 small jump lines are rideable and the big lines are blocked off. WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD.
Bryson E — Google review
Been taking my 3 year old out there for a couple months now. He loves it! The jumps seem to be maintained very well. There's a kids track, a couple pump tracks, and some pretty big ones out there be careful and wear a helmet!
Michael E — Google review
Super fun when hanging out with friends
Trevor S — Google review
There's a ramp for beginners, intermediate and experts. Portable potty is available here, no tissue, no soap or water to use. This place is maintained by a firefighter and his family. Some vandals comes here to steal and the lost equipments. No-fly zone for drones, it would be nice if they allow it here. You can have a family activities here for free, just keep it clean. Kids love to come here to use up their energy by running, and riding their bikes. Come and give this place a try. Also, they have walk-path by it. The place is close to where homeless people camped and waste the place. Thank God they are relocated. Some still try to park their cars overnight. I feel a little more safe here now.
Ben A — Google review
Bike park isn't to bad.. been closed because of the rain. There's a multipurpose trail nearby, as well as the park across the street. River bed is also accessable. Porta potties on site as well.
Brandie R — Google review
My 3 year old loves riding the pump track, and so do I. We went to the little pump track in Isle Vista a lot when we lived in Santa Barbara. River Bend Bike Park is much better, and it was a big selling point for us in deciding to move to Lompoc.
Jared K — Google review
I'm giving this place 5 stars because to my knowledge it's all we have to ride in this area. Skateparks in the area aren't really bike friendly. Thanks to the City of Lompoc and all the volunteers that built this place we now have a place to ride. Something I only dreamed of when I was a kid. It's nice to have a place that is protected and not in jeopardy of being torn down. That being said the place is not perfect. Lompoc dirt isn't the best but at least it holds shape. When it packs it does get super hard so you definitely don't want to go down without pads and a helmet. Volunteers maintain the grounds once a month. Lately it's there has been a small group of riders keeping up the rideability of the parge jumps. So if you visit feel free to clear any debri, trash in the riding areas. Every time I ride I bring my broom and shovel and groom a bit. There is a few water hoses around so it can be watered before a session. There is a variety of terrain for riders from beginner pump tracks to large jumps and even a wallride. Most types of bikes seem to handle the terrain but 20" bmx and 26" dirt jumping MTB's seem to do best on the large jumps. Beginners on race bikes and other bikes with longer rear ends seem to have a bit of a hard time. The location is in a relatively quiet and remote area of town so it can be relaxing, riders seem to come and go in short sessions. I have yet to see the place super packed with riders. There is entry to the city bike path nearby so hikers and bikers come by and use the portable bathrooms. There is a few homeless people setting up camp near the entrance but they seem to be harmless and stay to themselves. I could go on forever but basically the bike park is all we have so come ride it, help maintain and have a good time. I'm stoked that this place exists only 20 minutes away from my home and I will continue to ride there as long a I can. Hope to see you out there. I'm the old guy on an S&M bike!

The menu boasts an array of mouthwatering Chinese dishes such as Chow Mein, sweet and sour specialties, egg foo yung, fried rice, wonton soup, noodle soup, and crispy egg rolls.
Hadn’t been in for a long time and was impressed with menu changes. Famous for giant egg rolls and all four of us devoured them. Delicious. Chinese beer was great too. Definitely trying all the menu again.

Chow mein was really good, lots of flavor. The chicken noodle soup was also flavorful and the noodles were great texture. The inside decor was pretty. The lady serving us was the sweetest, reminded us of our grandmas

Great food made from scratch, very fresh veggies. Even better service. Such a great semi hole-in-the-wall iconic historic Lompoc Chinese food. I'll definitely go back.
B P — Google review
It has been 15 years since I last visited this place. I was stationed nearby and would come in 2-3 times a week. The owner would come out to chat with us, making the experience truly unforgettable! The portions were enormous back then. Thank you for a cherished food memory!
Jessie M — Google review
I've been going her my whole life. Rice bowl rice, giant egg roll fries shrimp and sweet and sour spair ribs amazing.. almond chicken amazing. Those are my go to's
Alex R — Google review
The Rice Bowl is out of this world. You walk in to a historic and fun decor, are immediately greeted by the owner who is incredibly nice, and then are treated to the best Chinese food in the county. A lot of the prices seem high until you realize that all of those prices are for a family sized portion. Also, all of those entrees can be served as a smaller portion for a lower price. As we sat down he brought us tea, which is such a welcoming gesture. I ordered the szechuan beef (extra spicy) and the fried rice and it might be the best of either that I've ever had. I've been here in Lompoc for 2 years and it's only my first time coming here, It looks like I have some lost time to make up. I'll be coming here once a week for the foreseeable future! Thanks again to the owner for giving us such a great experience.
Chip M — Google review
Best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The decor is unique, a mix of retro and more traditional Chinese elements. Service was fantastic, the owner is so friendly and gracious. There were some customers that came in while I was dining who were horrendously rude and he handled it with aplomb. Truly a hidden gem. To the person who complained about the price - the servings are massive and cost less per person than going to a place like Applebee’s.

Pizza restaurant
Wild West Pizza & Grill is a charming eatery that prides itself on using fresh dough, 100% real mozzarella cheese, and locally sourced veggies to create their specialty pizzas. In addition to their delicious pizzas, they also offer a variety of pastas, salads, and appetizers. The restaurant has a quaint atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff. One of the standout dishes is the City Slicker pizza topped with macaroni and cheese with bacon.
Here’s your review with a polished and glowing touch: I had the pleasure of visiting Wild West Pizza & Grill on a Monday afternoon after flying into town. Conveniently located within walking distance of the Hilton Garden Inn, it was the perfect spot to unwind. From the moment I walked in, Carla (if I caught her name right) welcomed me with such warmth that I immediately felt at home. The Wild West theme, complete with a general store, was a fantastic and unique touch that really sets this place apart. I even learned that this Cracker Barrel store idea was born during the challenges of COVID—a true testament to resilience and creativity. As for the food: incredible! I enjoyed a personal pepperoni and mushroom pizza alongside their buffalo wings. The pizza was bursting with flavor, reminiscent of authentic Chicago-style pies. And the wings? Perfectly cooked, with a sauce so good they practically melted in my mouth. This spot is a must-visit, and I can’t recommend it enough. I also heard they host poker nights on Thursdays, which sounds like a blast. Hopefully, I’ll get the chance to return and experience that next time. Wild West Pizza & Grill has definitely earned a place on my list of favorites!

I got the Deadwood Pizza. Great vegetarian option and the pizza was overall pretty solid. One thing I did notice is that you do not need to order extra cheese as that comes standard. So much so that the extra cheese overpowered the entire Pizza and made it to the point that the crust was having a hard time standing up to the weight. I would absolutely order from these folks the next time I'm in town, I just may order my pizza with light cheese. With their layout and I found it enjoyable, overall, I would return.

Great atmosphere and even better company with the staff. I took my two oldest kids (9&11) for pizza and the staff hung out and talked and socialized with my kids and went through the menu personally with them, making them feel wanted and grown-up! 😉 We couldn’t have enjoyed our dinner here more and I couldn’t suggest it with any higher praise. Great place.

The best pizza place I've been to! I love how they take care to make sure that the gluten free crust is truly gluten free! The toppings are so fresh, that it never feels like "fast food." After I eat there, I feel like I just ate homemade food!
Jennifer G — Google review
We arrived about 20 minutes before closing, and the staff was very accommodating, which we appreciated. The pizza was served hot and fresh, with good overall flavor. However, it was quite oily and greasy, overloaded with cheese, and noticeably lacking in toppings. At $27 for a medium pizza (substituting roasted tomatoes with mushrooms and adding jalapeños), it felt overpriced for what we received. Great service, but the pizza could use better balance and more value for the price.

Met the owner, really nice guy! The pizza was excellent!!! The atmosphere was very comfortable and they make you feel at home. I know they also do a lot for the community and they helped the guards at Lompoc when the government shut their paychecks off awhile back.

I found the overall Pizza experience to be pretty average. I got some spicy pizza but definitely had some random stray onions in it, which are absolutely disgusting especially on pizza. The staff was nice prices were certainly Fair, but walked away as "it was fine". If it weren't for the sub 10 Dollar Pizza I would have probably given that three stars, considering the price, it hit the mark

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in Lompoc! We ordered the Hawaiian cowboy with jalapeños and it was great. Crispy on the crust, cheese ratio to sauce and toppings was great and if you like a spicy kick, I recommend ordering the jalapeños from there. The house salad was huge and perfect for an appetizer along with some wings for a big group of people. Service was top notch and owner was kind and accommodating. The pizza came out hot and pretty quick from the time we sat down. There’s a little store you can browse through while you wait that has a lot of unique gifts/foods. Highly suggest this place for your next pizza outing!

Stayed at their 1964 trailer (booked via Hipcamp) which was very clean, functional and relaxing. Woke up every morning to the sounds of birdsong and surrounded by sunlight. Could also see cows directly from my window, which was amazing. The farm property was quite large and it felt safe as a solo traveler. Highly recommend!

I couldn't be more pleased. Our chicken coop was delivered and set up by Jeremy and Chris. It surpassed my expectation and was, indeed, worth the price. Solid wood and construction. painted in a very appealing two tone that really contributes to my back yard's ambiance. I highly recommend this method of securing a durable, secure and attractive coop. They are made bu decent and honest people who you can trust. I took Megan's beginner class and was extremely impressed by the class syllabus authored by Megan. It was detailed while being authoritative and pertinent to my needs. It covered all the vital issues of raising my new five member flock. The time flew by and I was sorry it was over. The tour of the farm showed the focused passion of Jeremy and Megan's creative projects. I especially like the commitment to re-purpose the materials at hand to support their numerous projects. The plan to create their own heat supply for their young chicks by using buried closed water carrying the heat generated by the compost pits back to the indoor pullet's growing area is just one example of their Dare2Dream philosophy. It's easy to schedule a time to see for yourself what wonderful partners Jeremy and Megan are in you Backyard chicken adventure.

Short, lovely family stay in their Airstream on the farm grounds back in 2023. Bought a few items from the farm store before heading north. Looked like a sustainable, friendly farm. Recommended!

I bought six 12-17 week old Pullets from Dare 2 Dream Farms. Pickup was quick and easy. They are happy, healthy, active, friendly birds. I am looking forward to all the eggs!
Laurie H — Google review
They were closed for tours, but we were able to walk around the property and do our own self guided tour. Our toddler loved feeding the goats! There were also ducks, chickens, cows, and horses for him to get really close to. It's a drive off the beaten path, but well worth it. The air here is just so crisp and fresh! Plus, they have a self serve stand where we bought some veggies and baked goods to snack on right on the property, where they had nice tables with a beautiful setting.
Davis D — Google review
I can't recommend Dare 2 Dreams Farms enough. The farm itself is so well organized, beautiful, efficient, and always improving. Megan and Jeremy are truly inspiring and such hard working people. Everything they do is with positive intent and care for the animals, food, environment, and community. They have passion for what they do and that doesn't waver when it comes to customer service - everyone they interact with is treated like family.

We were visiting Lompoc and this restaurant was recommended by a local. It is a casual diner atmosphere. The menu had an all day breakfast items. My husband had the Reuben sandwich with French fries. I had the pork chop with eggs, hash brown, and biscuits. The food was hearty. The hash brown was crispy as I requested but a little salty to my liking. Our server was attentive.

Floriano's Mexican Food is a vibrant, family-owned restaurant and butcher shop in Lompoc. They serve up a variety of authentic Mexican dishes, including tacos, burritos, tortas, menudo, bacon-wrapped jalapenos, and chile verde. The menu also features fresh-grilled tri-tip and chicken.
First time coming to this restaurant, looking for breakfast, I would say, I was impressed. If you are looking for a great diner with not only typical breakfast options but also hearty options, I would highly recommend this place. Staff was amazing and friendly, environment was calming, and food was really good. I ordered the pozole with green chili spice and it came with the side of vegetable and additional chili and chips. I really enjoyed this dish and it reminded me of home. The hominy corn was soft, meat was tender and consume was delicious. I felt really satisfied and full. Aside from the pozole, I also ordered the coffee and can full heartily say, it was better than the coffee in Starbucks. Hint of cinnamon and not too sweet which is awesome. I would highly recommend this place and would even bring my family here!

Super good I usually wait until Friday’s to get the tri tip. My son got the tri tip hot Cheeto burrito I took a bite and wish I got that for myself. I just love this place the food is consistent.
Christina F — Google review
The place is very quiet, clean, the menudo is not good. I don't recommend it, it doesn't taste like anything. A lot fat, not a real Mexican dish.
Alexander H — Google review
Floriano’s not only tastes authentic but the love they show for the local schools is next level. They made sure all the football players had the trimmin’s and fixin’s for 100 tacos on a 1 and half hour notice! (Coaches bad here) 🤦🏻‍♂️ and threw in some chips and salsa! A great value for feeding a lot of kids and coaches. Solid school discount… Thank you, Floriano’s and staff!! We’ll definitely run this back… 💪🏼😤🌮

1/3 pound ribeye bacon burger my ass, more like a jr bacon burger from Wendy’s. Was extremely disappointed with the size of the alleged “1/3” lb ribeye patty. Expected a nice gourmet burger with a thicker patty, instead, the patty was 1/4 lb Wendy size at best. Although it was tasty, the patty size was very disappointing. What’ve been better satisfied eating a Habit burger, Dave’s double or Johnnies than this. Floriano’s, if you guys want to offer gourmet burgers as a special thing on Saturdays, better to make the patty a little over a half a pound and charge a few bucks more… I’de rather pay the extra money for something that’s actually worth it, you guys really need to step it up!

The best Mexican food ever We truly enjoyed eating this restaurant food. The best Chile relleno & Chile Verde. Everything was delicious. Also great service!!!

Love this place! Note: When they ask if you want spicy, just know that the green sauce is actually spicy. Do it!

This restaurant is clean and huge with nice parking. I ended up in Lompoc kind of by accident last night and needed breakfast at noon while checking out late and decided to give this a shot due to the reviews and proximity. I haven't even gotten my food yet but the salsas are extraordinary, the menudo y posole looks amazing and their breakfast burritos aren't stuffed with carbs you didn't order (but can, and if I wasn't worried about my blood sugar today I'd have added rice and should have added avocado. I don't know if I'll ever have cause to stop here again but I legit now want to spend a weekend here and try more of their food.

Alfie's Fish & Chips is a beloved, family-owned restaurant that has been serving up authentic English-style fish and chips since 1969. The no-frills establishment offers great food and service, open seven days a week with convenient hours. While some customers find the fish and chips to be good but not exceptional, others rave about the crispy texture of the fish and the sweet hush puppies. The cozy atmosphere allows patrons to enjoy sports while sitting at the bar.
Longtime local favorite! Traditional fish and chips, clams, and the fish sandwich are my favorites; I always get a cup of chowder and some hushpuppies too. They make their cocktail and tartar sauces in house, which are delicious. The food is fresh, the staff are friendly and the owner genuinely cares about their business and our community. Love the nostalgia of this place, the quality is always consistently great and the portions are good. I also appreciate that they're constantly evolving, now offering an app to order from with loyalty points for free food, making it even more convenient to order. Highly recommended!

I haven't been to Alfie's in a very long time and was craving some fish & chips. Not knowing what I really wanted, I ordered the basics. The service was great. Our cashier, maybe Nelly? was so patient. I drove all the way home. When we sat down to eat, it was the best! We had a few extra nibblets and the state sauce is so good! Made my night. Thank you again for a wonderful fresh meal and great service!

Fish was great, chips were great. Coleslaw needed to be a bit more crisp, but has good flavor. Clam chowder was good.

**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Outstanding!** Just had the most incredible fish and chips experience at Alfie's in Lompoc! This place is a true gem that serves up authentic, no-nonsense fish and chips the way they should be made. The fish was absolutely perfect - fresh, flaky, and coated in the most beautifully crispy golden batter I've ever seen. You can tell they use quality fish, not the frozen stuff you get at chain places. The chips were equally impressive - properly cut, fluffy inside with that perfect crispy exterior, and seasoned just right. What really sets Alfie's apart is the authenticity. This isn't some fancy fusion place trying to reinvent the wheel - it's honest, traditional fish and chips done to perfection. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the staff clearly takes pride in what they're serving. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a local fish and chips shop - unpretentious, welcoming, and focused on the food. It's clear this is a place that's earned its reputation through quality and consistency. Lompoc is lucky to have Alfie's. If you're in the area and craving authentic fish and chips, don't even think twice - just go. You won't be disappointed! Will definitely be back soon!

I’m sorry to say this as I am OG Lompocian going to Alfies since the 80’s when they were near Gemini theatre … They are just NOT CONSISTENT these days … sometimes ALL fresh others NOT! Some pieces, Dry fish and the fries were horrible … Tip: NEED TO CHANGE OUT THE OIL — I know it’s expensive but I’d rather have fresh oil and food, paying more than a stomach ache and food poisoning. I wish restaurants in Lompoc would stop cutting corners for dollars 😢
Melinda — Google review
This place use to be really good about 10 years ago. The coleslaw was disgusting. The fish and chips were fresh, however I remember the hush puppies being a lot tastier. Would have been better if I didn’t get so many crumbs with my meal. Still probably one of the better fish and chips but still not worth writing home about.
California L — Google review
I've not been to Alfie's in well over seven years, as I lived out of state. I went for the first time Nov 2024 when I came to visit, and then about a week ago. I've loved Alfie's since the first time! The fish and chips are crispy on the outside and the fish is tasty! The tartar sauce is the best I've ever tasted. The clam chowder isn't too thick or soupy. The consistency and the clam to potato ratio is wonderful! 😉 I had to bring Dad a pint of the chowder that night. He'd already eaten but he wasn't goin to pass up Alfie's! He got a big ol grin on his face! And I live 25mls away...and made Dad's night!

Quirky, fun, and delicious! Eye on I is a little hidden gem in Lompoc. When you walk in you are faced with a beautiful pizza oven, quirky decor, and a menu written on butcher paper hanging on the wall. All the things in the restaurant (decorations, colors, setup, outdoor patio, etc) make it a really fun atmosphere. After reviewing the menu be sure to check the countertop for handwritten daily specials. You will order at the bar and then you are free to find any table you like. I've heard really good things about Eye on I pizza but I went with the special rockfish sandwich. It was absolutely delicious. The fish was super crispy but not oily, the other toppings (lettuce, pickles, heirloom tomatoes, house tartar sauce) made the sandwich surprisingly light/fresh, and the bun was great too. I wasn't really thinking about the fries when I ordered the sandwich, but they were really solid and seasoned perfectly! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town to try their pizza and see what other yummy creations they have!

I love the open kitchen concept where you can see them preparing your pizza or food. They have a proper wood burning oven and they use the best pizza flour imported from Italy , the brand is Caputo for those wondering. Their mascot dog is super cute and friendly and she just chills by the entrance greeting diners. You can eat at the outdoors patio located in the back or indoors. They also offering nice beer and wine to complement the food. We had cauliflower steak, falafel appetizer, pizza, a giant salad with steak and a fish sandwich. Everything that we ordered was superb. I highly recommend this place.

Creative food with wonderful focus on details and ingredients. Not everything is my favorite, but every dining experience has been memorable and some of the food items have invaded my long term memory. The cheesy cauliflower can start it's own religion if it wanted to, and the apple, gorg., bacon pizza dominates my taste buds is ways inappropriate for Google reviews. Can't wait to eat here again.

It's a quaint Mexican restaurant with a plethora of options. The portions were plentiful and the price, even with today's inflation, was still on-point. My wife and I shared the beef fajitas, which came with beans and rice, and a basket of chips and salsa. It was also nice to see other locals in town going here as well. Our server was also extremely nice and accommodating, especially with our infant son. I very much recommend this hole-in-the-wall to anyone out of town, or locals who haven't given it a try yet. I'm not sure how similar or different it is to their Orcutt location, but it is nice to know Lompoc has a great option in town.

This used to be a go-to for a Machaca breakfast burrito. A flour tortilla filled with meat, beans, cheese, eggs and hash browns, so delicious when it’s made proportionately. The ratios have been slowly been dwindling and the majority of the burrito is now fillers. I paid good money for a machaca burrito and instead I was served hash browns. This is a picture of the hash brows removed from the burrito, very little of anything else. I dined in recently to only be disappointed with the food being mostly filler, figured I’d give one more chance this morning. Sad to say, I won’t be back.

Was not busy at all. Ordered a carne asada burrito. Waited about 10 minutes a day the cashier comes out and say that the cook made it a wet burrito and if that was ok?? Lol. Um,no that's not what I ordered. Went back and had another one maid which took about 10 minutes. The burrito was good but the service lacked. Came back to get another burrito. Carne asada. Not bad. Service was much better.

Not much to say, it's a really basic airport. small. The check in person was really nice but the security line was a mess and luggage pick up is also chaotic because it's such a small area and of course everyone is clamoring for their bags.

Great community airport and restaurant. Small, clean, with easy access.

By far the worse airport staff I've ever seen. Its a small airport, and you can tell they have nothing else going on. They dont prioritize "priority" nor value your time. Know going in, that this is not like other airports that give a friendly experience.

Stayed here for almost a week. Nice hotel that's literally build next to small airport - literally adjacent to the runway. They serve coffee until 11am and meals at the restaurant at normal meal times but do close down inbetween. The two Queen rooms were decent for what we needed. We saw some planes take off, including a cargo plane multiple times along with the numerous cesnas

Great place to enjoy Mexican food Pepper Garcia's, great service. We had frozen margaritas, they tasted good only very light int the tequila, dinner is always great with generous portions.

Facilities need improvement. Beverage vending machines were empty. Coffee machine had ants in it! Only plus, staff are friendly.

SLO County Airport

Regional airport
Airport
SLO County Airport, located in the Airport District, serves as a gateway to the wine country of San Luis Obispo. Despite being small, it offers quick TSA checks and limited dining options. Travelers recommend arriving an hour before departure due to its size. Long-term parking may cost more than expected but provides a convenient turnaround area. While waiting for flights, visitors can explore nearby attractions like Splash Cafe for delicious clam chowder or enjoy outdoor rest areas before their journey begins.
Really nice small airport. TSA is very nice, we didn't have any lines to wait in. Only 6 gates in one terminal, with indoor and outdoor waiting areas. Pro tip - don't expect full meal food or many snacks or magazines once you're through security, as there is only a grab and go cafe inside. We knew ahead of time and planned for it - we checked our luggage early, and then walked 3 minutes to the adjacent Spirit of San Luis restaurant, which was excellent.

Very small, but seemingly efficient airport. Favorite thing is the breezeway, nice and toasty in the sun, but cool and breezy in the shade, and plenty of both to go around. Food is very expensive and unsatisfying, drinks are ok. Terminal was pretty warm and crowded, while I was here.

This is hands down the best airport experience I’ve ever had. Outdoor area after security, live music, local beers on tap, and the ever-present SBPaws therapy dogs. It is a fantastic way to start your journey.

I love flying in and out of smaller airports. The employees who work here are typically nicer than many others. The outdoor waiting area is very comfortable. However, give yourself plenty of extra time because people triple park when dropping people off.

This has always been one of my favorites to fly in and out of. The layout makes getting through the airport easy and efficient. The staff is always friendly and professional. It's just plain good vibes.

Nice little Airport everyone seemed very friendly and helpful except for this one woman who decided to put all her stuff in the middle of the walkway lol!

TSA will ever be TSA (forced to be searched for no appreciable reason, though swiftly and with understansing od course.), but all other staff were hospitable and the port, likely due to it's managable size, was efficient in getting passengers aboard flights. Amenities available were also very much appreciated.
Gwen W — Google review
TSA sucks every time I go through the security check there is an issue. Checking bags for no reason. Extra sensitive machies that are clearly outdated. No issues every when I leave LAX. This time really missed me off. I paid for Precheck and had to take my shoes off. That was gross and I was unprepared for that.

Santa Barbara Airport

Airport
Santa Barbara Airport, also known as Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA), is an art-filled airport located just 8 miles from downtown Santa Barbara. It offers free WiFi and a variety of car rental options. The airport has about 40 daily flights to major hubs such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and more. Nestled between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Santa Barbara is a charming Spanish town that attracts bike riders of all levels with its diverse terrain.
Not only do I travel around America a lot, I travel by airplane quite a bit and this Airport was wonderful! From the beginning to the end. Obviously it's a smaller airport which helps but to be honest with you the people (even the TSA agents) were so nice and so helpful! I escorted my wife and daughter to the gate for their flight my wife was very nervous traveling with a 17 month old but everybody being so helpful and friendly made it stress-free getting to the gate. The Southwest team helped with getting on the plane and checking the stroller. Everything just went very smooth, and it made the experience enjoyable for everyone. I will drive out of my way to fly out of this airport when possible. Way to Santa Barbara Airport and Southwest Airlines.

Nice small airport. You'll need to plan on waiting a bit for wheel chair assistance, and the restrooms in the actual terminal are a far distance from gate 1 for someone sitting in wheelchair like me. Staff were kind and professional from ticketing, to wheelchair assistance, and TSA.

Worst airport in the US by far. Planes always delayed our cancelled, you always have to walk out on the tarmac even though they have walkways and for the first time ever that I've seen in over 30 years of flying TSA closed all lanes so no one could get to their gate. They didn't care if we missed it flight. I had to call the airline and then the airport itself before one of TSA people decided to come and ask what time my flight was. Once I got through I could hear they were making the last call for my flight so I had to run to the last gate to make it. Nightmare all the way around for such a small small airport which should be so much easier.

First time flying in here to SBA and what a pleasant surprise. Quaint, clean, no crowds, logistics was a breeze, ride share was right out front, and then it hit me...that ocean breeze. I found not only did my attitude suddenly change for the better...but my posture as well.

Fantastic, quaint, small and easy airport. The astetics of the terminal (both new and old) are beautiful. Security is a breeze and non stressful. The way air travel used to be. A much better option than the third world airport that is LAX

Lovely airport, now the matter at hand. Young lad called “Lesley” watching the aircraft departuring, waltzes up to me and says “where are ye from ye auld flower?” I dont answer. Then, this lad proceeds to poleaxe me onto the road. “Lesley” then vanishes. I’m only after coming here on me business trip from the Dole office. Isn’t Goleta some kip!

Terrible airport. Dont come here. Please keep flying out of LAX and Burbank. Friendly people, beautiful environment, clean, enjoyable drive, easy parking... terrible qualities you don't want and can only get at LAX.
Jeff D — Google review
Very nice and clean airport, wait times are minimal but don’t fly American here. 5 flights I’ve booked in a row have been delayed now, American does not ever seem to know what they are doing or what is going on. Never had a pleasant experience with American at SBA, fly a different airline!!!
