White Clay Creek State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
White Clay Creek State Park is a vast park located in Delaware, offering 37 miles of trails for hiking, biking and fishing. The park also features a nature center where visitors can learn about the surrounding wildlife. Additionally, there is a paved trail suitable for strollers and bicycles that spans over 2 miles throughout the park.
Winter or summer, this is a great place for a hike / run / fishing trip. Obviously it’s much prettier during the summer and fall months but when it’s cold out you really earn that warmth 🌡️ Take friends, girlfriends, and family here❗️ One of the greatest state parks Delaware has to offer by FAR 🌳
Rhys N — Google review
Great park for hiking. The trails are well marked and well marked. Some asphalt trails but mostly natural trails through beautiful trees. I’ve hiked us during the fall in the winter and it’s a great opportunity to see changes to the environment. It is one of my favorite things to do in nearby parks. Dog friendly, great parking restrooms open year-round.
Renee M — Google review
Beautiful park. Bigger than I thought. Lots of trails. Different degrees of difficulty. Areas near water to enjoy. Will be back soon.
Ivan W — Google review
Even the parking lot is pretty! You do have to pay a fee if you're out of state (it's the honor system but I think you could be towed/fined if you don't), so bring some cash and remember to place the ticket on your car's dash. There are bathrooms at the entrance and some benches here and there. The short trail wasn't challenging and it was GORGEOUS. We walked about 45 minutes and didn't see anyone else. It was a gorgeous day and I feel so fortunate that we had the place to ourselves! Lots of cool plants and some fenced-off areas in the forest for purposeful native planting. Lovely experience overall.
Christina L — Google review
We have been exploring the trails of White Clay Creek for the past six years. So many scenic and peaceful trails to experience!
Lori N — Google review
White Clay Creek State Park is a beautiful place to spend time outdoors. The natural scenery is peaceful and very well preserved. From the wooded trails to the open green spaces, everything feels so calming. It’s a great spot for hiking or just enjoying a quiet walk. I also like how clean and well-kept everything is. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking to get some fresh air and enjoy nature!
Kiera — Google review
Just want to shout out Bob, from the nature center. A friend and I were exploring the park for the first time last week and had the great fortune of bumping into Bob at the nature center. Not only did he spontaneously offer us a quick tour of the place, he gave us a thorough history of White Clay Creek and the importance of protecting this green space. It was the perfect send off before heading out to explore. He's a passionate person who instills his dedication and love for nature into anyone fortunate enough to run into him. Thank you, Bob.
Andrew P — Google review
Awesome park! Very large and many trailheads and places to walk or bike! Nice river runs through the park which has trout. Many parking places are available. There used to be a railroad that ran along the river locally called the Pumpsie Doodle that carried it's first passengers in 1873 and carried it's last passengers in 1928. They built 65 bridges to accommodate this railroad. Less than ten years later parts of the line were abandoned in 1936. The only lines remaining are south of Newark. Cell phone service with T-Mobile is not great in some parts of the park so plan accordingly. In the part of the park that I saw I did not see permanent restroom facilities only portable units and I did not see any drinking fountains in the part I was in. A lot of people were biking and walking their dog.

Bob Carpenter Center

Arena
Sights & Landmarks
Arenas & Stadiums
The Bob Carpenter Center is a versatile facility that can host a variety of events, including basketball and volleyball games, concerts, and banquets. The seating arrangement is spacious and comfortable for large crowds. The location is conveniently located near the highway with ample parking available. During events, the atmosphere is lively with energized spectators and music from the band. However, some patrons were not satisfied with the limited food options at the concession stand which only sold overpriced cotton candy that was hard to eat.
We took the boys to their first college basketball game last week and it was an absolute blast. The Bob is a great arena that doesn't have 1 bad seat in the house. Everyone there was super nice and helpful getting us to our seats. The concessions stands are nice and clean and the food is not way over priced. Unfortunately the Hens didn't win but we will definitely be back next season!! Go Blue Hens!!
Patrick D — Google review
Great experience here for two different graduations. The staff is friendly and so are the security guards working there. They also had police on site so that made me feel more safe. The facility is clean as well as the bathrooms which is extremely important to me!
Megan S — Google review
Security personnel at the volleyball tournament take their jobs WAY too seriously. It's a completely different experience than every other venue, even the field house across the parking lot. One of our parents had a tripod with a phone on it set up to stream the matches, and the security guard in light blue told her to take it off the arena floor. He told me I could not take pictures on the arena floor. Fast forward a couple hours, and several other parents were ALLOWED to set up their tripods. Selective policy enforcement is a big red flag in my book. Our club will not be returning to this tournament in the future. Also regarding the parking lot, they should have gotten a more experienced or better educated civil engineer to design it. The bottlenecking at the entrances/exits is awful. The spots are also too tight. Cars parked next to each other can't both open their doors at the same time. And if someone parks close to one of their lines, forget about it... Concession prices are actually not horribly unreasonable, although the selection is not extensive. Toddler chow only. On a positive note, whoever designed the restrooms actually created an intelligent layout for high volume with separate entrances and exits to keep traffic flowing uninterrupted unidirectionally. The soap dispensers and paper towels are stocked, so that's a plus. Additional plus, it's 5 minutes from a Wawa, and 13 minutes from Costco, which is convenient to i95.
Chad — Google review
Normally people have basketball games here but they opened it up for us to have a homecoming ceremony for troops deployed overseas wonderful experience met with the governor and Senator Carpenter... amazing place and wonderful staff hopefully they will continue to let us utilize this area for homecoming ceremonies and other events for our troops... will definitely try to catch a basketball game here in the near future...
John B — Google review
Went to a graduation on 6/1/2025. The accessibility for elderly and handicapped is horrible! You walk forever up steps and in hallways just to get to an elevator! I saw an elderly woman fall down the stairs trying to get to her seat! People with canes and walkers should be able to enter on the ground level of the seats! It’s ridiculous!
Marianne F — Google review
Awesome experience with lots of views to take great photos
Nette A — Google review
The Bob is a great venue for a variety of experiences. From University of Delaware basketball games, to concerts, to graduation ceremonies it's a quality place with great view lines and easy access from I-95.
Brett S — Google review
Graduation day for NCS! Good day, nice place. My only complaint is they are still searching bags and pouring out open water containers. Must think it's 2004 or something.

Small and cozy theatre with easy access... Great presentation of Murder on the Orient express!!! Arsenic and Old Lace this time... VERY funny, a great evening...
Scot S — Google review
Absolutely superb theater - right "in our back yard".
Tony B — Google review
Engaging presentation, professional actors, great band/orchestra, set was realistic, scene changes were seamless, every seat is a good seat with excellent view, entire production was one of best I've seen there. This particular show was never boring. Two hours felt like one hour went by so fast.
Jerry L — Google review
I have never been disappointed by a REP production, and I've been to many of them. A frequent season subscriber, I count this theatre in the top tier alongside the Kimmel and Walnut in Philly. Even when I didn't care for the play itself, you can't deny the actors, staging, and direction are always done well. I do highly recommend the orchestra seats, but there's really not a bad seat in the house. Parking is next door in a dedicated garage, and there's a small concession on site.
Sarahfaye D — Google review
I absolutely love the REP theater. I've managed to see most of their Productions over the last several years. It's a treat to be able to see the same actors in a wide variety of roles. These folks are absolute chameleons... their commitment to their roles is outstanding. The technical aspects of the theater are excellent. The sound, the lights, the sets... all are magnificent. What can I say? This is professional theatre at its finest. Full marks.
Larry D — Google review
Clean and nice medium-sized theater. I saw a dance performance here and have been in several performances here. The dressing rooms are the nicest I've been in and there's plenty of room backstage and in the wings. The audience has a good view of the stage.
Caroline G — Google review
The first play I saw with REP was The Servant of Two Masters. It was hilarious! Seen a couple of intense plays as well. The theatre is amazing, crowd is good, people are friendly. Some of the plays are a must watch. Their sets are beautiful.
Shabbir W — Google review
Have seen a number of REP comedies over the past 8 years. They have all been well produced and wonderfully acted! If we did not like the play, it was because of the play itself, NOT the production! Actors are first rate, sets are beautiful, and tickets are reasonably priced. We are so lucky to have REP at the University of Delaware!

Iron Hill Park

Park
Nature & Parks
We love this park. It's close to home and the trails are very family friendly. Just watch out for the disk golfers! We never find it crowded here. The playground is nice and shaded, if you have kids who want to play, and there is a small dog park for your furry friends.
Victoria E — Google review
It's a wonderful place to take kids and dogs. Trails, woods, disc golf, cute playground equipment, and a small iron hill museum too.
Kristen — Google review
Love coming here. Love the trails, get one with nature. Calm your mind and meditate. Nice playground and dog park. Also can play disc golf.
Tamara D — Google review
Came for the playground, but next time we will try out some trails! The playground was very nice and shady and there was lots of close parking. Clean area with lots of things to do!
Tess — Google review
Family fun day. Best food Indian tacos. Love all the dances and dancers. Teaching the kiddos about others and there cultures.
Ivy G — Google review
This is not just a dog park. This place has numerous picnic and grill spot, children's play area, many hiking and mountain bike trails as well as a full, picturesque and challenging disc golf course. There is a large pavillion, a rest area with facilities and maps, a ranger station and a science center. The park also has some rich history going back before the revolutionary war. There are many cool boulders and tons of interesting rocks. The trees are relatively old growth for this area and quite majestic.
Deniz T — Google review
Nice park with hiking trails, disc golf, playground and dog park
Gary G — Google review
We love this park for hiking. Easy trails and pretty quiet. Just watch out for disk golfers! Further into the park there is some noise from the highway, but overall we love Iron Hill for family friendly hikes. I also love the shaded playground. It's so great to go in the summer and not have the sun beating down while the kids play!

Vince's Sports Center

Amusement center
Fun & Games
Vince's Sports Center is an amusement park spread over 18 acres of land, offering a variety of activities such as mini golf on two different courses, batting cages, arcade games, and more. The staff at the center is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere at Vince's Sports Center is lively and full of good vibes. It also offers birthday party packages that are reasonably priced and enjoyable for everyone.
We had a really great time at our young relative's birthday party. They have a good variety of arcade games, a small ball pit, and an enclosed play-place obstacle course structure that's a lot of fun for younger toddlers. The staff were also exceptionally nice. We will definitely be back in the future.
Austin H — Google review
I LOVE this place! It’s like home to me, and it’s the most affordable and fantastic place to take your kids, friends, families, dates ❤️, or anyone! Great mini golf, large 8hole golf course, arcade with great prices and games, Awesome batting cages, and friendly staff! Come alone or in a group, you will always have a good time, and eat dinner and treats at a great price! Thank you for keeping this place going, it’s a local treasure! Join their Facebook page for promotions 😀
Charlene S — Google review
Been going here for years. You definitely get your moneys worth and the kids love it. It’s a very comfortable vibe even when it’s crowded. I’m a big fan of using the coupons they send out in the monthly clipper magazine. The kids always leave with prizes, smiles and a full belly.
Lauren L — Google review
Indoor batting cages are always a lot of fun, and much more enjoyable in the shade and AC than they were out in the sun years ago! Even the outdoor mini golf courses have a fabulous shady, breezy area thanks to the full grown trees which like Vince's itself have stood the test of time. A solid selection of arcade games and a fairly new indoor playground, with snacks and convenient seating all around, complete the experience. The jumbo peanut butter Reese's cookies are particularly awesome. Love supporting an independent, family friendly arcade!
Casey I — Google review
It's a fun little place and the event we went to for Halloween was great! It's a little run down and could use some updates but overall it's nice. The mini golf course needs a little work, balls kept rolling and getting stuck in the drain pipes which are in the construction of the holes. The people were all extremely friendly and helpful. Personally I would switch the prize counter and admissions counter it's a little confusing on where to go when you first walk in.
Alex K — Google review
One of my best places to take my son. He’s 5 and loves it here, The games are cheap to play they have tokens you can by 4 for a 1$ or 5$ for 22 tokens and so on. I like that they have tokens with this day and age everything is cards and tap. Reminds me of my childhood. They have this indoor playground and batting cages. The food is your typical pizza, popcorn, hotdogs etc. All at great prices you can easily spend 2-3 hrs in here. Not to mention the outside golf course
H.W — Google review
We love this place! I take my daughter here oncea week after school and she has a great time every time. The staff are really nice with my daughter as she loves to chat with them while I win tickets for her...
Daniel M — Google review
Loved the mini golf course and everything. Retro with updated games. I’m glad it’s still running. Anyone who grew up in the 90s like myself will feel the nostalgia. I wish I came when I was a kid. Seems perfect for birthday parties with a nice big seating area and an awesome play park.

Fred Rust Ice Arena

Ice skating rink
Fun & Games
Sports Complexes
The Fred Rust Ice Arena, located on the campus of The University of Delaware in Newark, is an ice skating rink that serves as a training ground for hockey and figure skaters. It has also hosted international figure skating legends such as Tara Lipinski. While primarily reserved for competitions, the arena is often open to the public who can rent skates on-site or purchase tickets online or at the door. Ice skating is a fun way to burn calories and spend time indoors during inclement weather conditions.
One of the best ice arenas in the Mid-Atlantic region. Olympic size. $10 for an adult during a 3-hour public session. Grooming every hour.
Kinnam — Google review
The Fred Rust Ice Arena is located on South College Avenue on the campus of The University of Delaware in Newark. Over the years, the arena has been home base for some international figure skating legends, like Tara Lipinski. Though it’s often reserved for hockey matches and figure skating competitions, it’s frequently open to the public as well. Ice skating not only burns tons of calories, but it’s a fun way to spend a few hours, especially when the weather isn’t conducive to outdoor activities. Skates are available to rent on-site, and tickets to scheduled events may be purchased online or at the door.
Ankit P — Google review
My daughter has been taking lessons for the last 4 yrs...great instructors, smooth and well cared for rink. Seats are heated. A little annoying to park if there is a sporting event on campus.
Ryan H — Google review
The best rinks in Delaware hands down. Ice is well maintained, facilities are clean, games start on time and schedules are posted in advance. Looking forward to the new facilities once they are complete.
Donald S — Google review
They made it so easy for us to bring a very large group of skaters. So fun!

The Christmas music while appropriate for the season was slow and dated. It could have been more up beat and fun music. Well kept ice rink though.

Great public skating and we've also watched ice skating trails here. Would definitely recommend it if in the area.

Great place to explore especially with children. I was amazed to see how well the animals are preserved. Lots of iron out there. 😉 Such a memorable experience. The children had a great time.

Great little museum. We go here each year to attend the Pow Wow. If you have a chance to attend it is a wonderful event
Gary G — Google review
Really nice brand new science center! Lots of local history with more to come! Friendly, helpful staff on hand to answer any questions. My favorite part was the rock collection. So many to see!
Charles D — Google review
Lovely small local museum. Exhibits are good for a wide range of visitors' ages. Probably won't take more than half an hour to look at most of the museum but they have many special programs and even homeschool classes, summer camp, and more intense programs based on a theme. General admission is $2. Well stocked and affordable gift shop. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Recently refurbished and replanted pollinator gardens. I can't recommend it enough especially to families with children from around 5 to 12.
Stacye P — Google review
Small but the staff were definitely awesome and very informative. I liked walking through the trail.

Patriot Ice Center

Ice skating rink
Fun & Games
Sports Complexes
Patriot Ice Center is a top-notch ice skating rink in Delaware, providing a wide range of amenities and activities. Along with its pro shop and cafe, the center offers both public lessons and league play for ice-skating and hockey enthusiasts. The facility boasts an exceptional staff who ensures that the ice surface is always in excellent condition. There are no rough patches, and the corners of the rink are level to enhance gameplay during hockey matches.
I brought my children here for the open ice time. The parking lot was crowded, I assume for hockey games, because when we went in, the rink for open time wasn't too crowded at all. On the ice, there were skaters of all abilities and everyone was being respectful of each other. The employees were kind and polite. We'll definitely be back!
Meredith H — Google review
I took my daughter here for a birthday party and she had a good time. The entrance was confusing but we figured it out and the food they had for concessions was really good. The menu was huge! No major complaints. Definitely bring a coat and bring gloves for your skaters!
Regina B — Google review
As a hockey dad, I've been to many rinks. This one is dead center in rankings. There is nothing really great or really horrible about it. It seems to have more of a figure skating community around it. The ice surface seemed pretty bad when I was there and it was one of the warmest rinks I've been in. The two facts are probably related right?! It does have a pro shop and a small Cafe though.
Jeff S — Google review
A great place to go and free skate, but an even better place to go and learn figure skating or how to play hockey. There are excellent youth and adult programs for both sports. Elizabeth Hollett runs an outstanding set of programs for kids through summer camps and select groups.
Kevin P — Google review
Very nice ice rink. Nice big locker rooms. Had a wonderful time there.
Amelia R — Google review
Staff is always so polite & Helpful. Smooth ice, great to learn how to skate, & they offer a skating "walker" to hold onto for new skaters. They offer soo much here for ALL ages! Private lessons, (figure skating/ hockey) Stick and puck, Summer camp for the kids, Open Hockey, Curling teams, Huge Hockey tournaments - awesome to watch! FREE WIFI, a veryyyy nice party room, great for birthdays, or even office/work place party/events! They always have VERY CLEAN locker Rooms and bathrooms. Great food!! Cute hoodies, Tee-shirts and Tights in their little store. They have lockers to rent for public and cosmic skate, Weekday Public Skate from 11:00am to 12:30pm for ONLY $7 -$3 for skate rentals, and I must say ... They have very clean and sharp skates, you'll never get a dull skate! Friday nights they have Cosmic Skate from 8:00pm-10:00 pm Always have the best music playing! Sometimes they even have themed nights which are always fun! -you can always check their Facebook or Instagram for upcoming events. I've never been disapointed here. Always have awesome service and a great time!! An awesome, chilly spot to stay cool on a hot summer day/evening

A nice museum. Easy to miss parking lot entrance right off highway. Tour guide was pleasant but could not answer questions on two exhibits. They have a really nice remembrance ceremony for the Battle of Chooch's Bridge which is what brought me to the museum in 2023. The First Delaware Reenacting Regiment (Rev War) did a wonderful job.

The Border Cafe

$$$$cheap
Mexican restaurant
Cajun restaurant
Located in Newark, The Border Cafe is a Tex-Mex eatery that offers a variety of Mexican favorites along with a wide selection of margaritas and sangrias. With its vibrant atmosphere and impeccable service, this restaurant is perfect for any occasion. Don't miss out on their fresh and delectable guacamole, or the flavorful Tejas chicken.
We were visiting the area and stopped by the Border Cafe for dinner at about 6 pm on a Thursday. The place was packed, but we got a table right away. The first impression is that the place is noisy as they play loud music, which forces patrons to talk loudly to hear each other. The 2nd impression was that the atmosphere is vibrant and family-friendly as there were many families with their children. As soon as we were seated, a warm basket of tortilla chips and salsa was delivered by a friendly and bubbly server (Jade), who took our drink order. The menu is a combination of Mexican and Cajun food with reasonable prices. We ordered a plate of 2 chicken tacos ($9.87) and 2 fish tacos ($11.96). Each plate comes with a choice of 2 sides like black bean, rice, and blackened broccoli. We'll definitely visit again. Everything was delicious, and we were checked on by both Jade and the manager several times to make sure everything was okay.
Abi M — Google review
For “Tex mex” it’s a good choice. Food is fresh, cooked well and you get a good size serving More than enough choices for everyone to find something they like. I ordered the Blackened chicken quesadillas that come with a creamy ranch (which was very good). My husband ordered the gumbo which was a big bowl served with garlic toast They start you off with warm chips and house salsa which is refilled at request. Service was fast and accurate. Our waitress was very good. Checked on us multiple times was super friendly and very good at her profession!!! Even if the food was mediocre (which it wasn’t) I’d come back just for the service. High end restaurants don’t need to be the only ones who give amazing service- chains and smaller places need to remember that too! Very reasonable price $25 for 2 for lunch was a great value. Definitely will be back. Stop on in and try this fun spot. Our waitresses name was Rebekah… Big shout out!😎
Sherry J — Google review
Great food and a fantastic atmosphere. It is a very popular place. The only drawback is it gets very loud. We were there and could hardly hear one another. Interesting combination of Tex-Mex and Cajun. Never would have expected that. They have a nice place to eat outside but it was too hot to eat there. Everyone ate indoors.
S D — Google review
This place is great. It has an almost disneyesque feel to it. Like the waiting line for a Mexican/cajun ride. It’s roomy and they don’t have so many tables that you feel squished into your neighbors. The food is great and reasonably priced. I had the steak fajitas and there’s plenty to east including a nice lunch the next day. I travel from Pa to southern Delaware n a regular basis and will probably be stopping here on a regular basis. Big fan.
Chas — Google review
It is a popular and noisy restaurant It has decent food at good price. We went at 7P. The restaurant was packed. We were behind another party. Both of us were seated immediately. It appeared to us that many parties were families. It was very noisy. We had trouble hearing our waiter. He (Devin) had to bend over to project his voice to us We ordered two fish tacos. They were ok; we were not impressed We were not disappointed, either We had better fish tacos else where. Price is a good value. You get a lot of food for your money. I guess that is why there are many families here. Initially, the restaurant was busy. Our waiter (Devin) was professional and efficient. As customers thin out, he relaxed and engaged with us more. We liked him, his service, and how he interacted with us. Restaurant was definitely not busy after 8P. We left around 8:15. Close to half of the table were not occupied. We saw a manager-like lady walking around asking customer how was everything. She came around to our table twice in our visit. It is a causal, no frill restaurant. Good for family visit or an after work informal gathering.

One of the best Mexican restaurants around! Having visited their sister location, Jose Tejas in New Jersey, this place delivers a very similar and satisfying experience. The corn and black bean empanadas are a standout—unique and not something you find everywhere. They’re a bit oily, but definitely worth enjoying once in a while. The blackened broccoli fajitas are also a solid choice. Plus, the complimentary chips and salsa are a nice touch that adds to the overall great dining experience.

We really enjoyed our time and the food here. The atmosphere was great, the food was tasty and reasonably priced, and the service was decent. There’s plenty of parking available, which is always a plus. The fries were perfect, and the blackened chicken was awesome, just a bit on the salty side, but still delicious. One note: it might be a bit too loud for babies. We’ll definitely be back soon!

I always come here with my granny and get the shrimp tacos ... omg they are soo delicious... cost about $15 for the 3 shrimp tacos . The chips are always too hot just in time for my food to pop up ... their cherry coke is ginormous and so good ... always a great experience.

Nice place to go for dinner, the ambiance and food was great. This would be a nice date night location, we came as a family and they had a really great kids menu. We enjoyed a pasta and salad, bread comes complimentary. We thought the bar was really nice and there is a great wine selection.

Great food, amazing service. Loved the atmosphere and appreciated the large selection of drinks. Steak was delicious... definitely coming back when I'm back in Delaware

Great place for date night. Fancy but a bit of a casual vibe. Business casual attire for the most part but don't be surprised if you see some people wearing crocs and tank tops. Food is on the pricey side but everything we ordered was very good and the steaks were cooked to order. Service was knowledgeable but they obviously had multiple trainees working and there were some gaps between receiving appetizers and our drinks and entrees but overall the service was attentive. I understand that they don't want bright lights and they're trying to set a intimate mood but it was just too dark in there. They had an excellent wine list and cocktail options and they also have a nice bar for happy hour or casual dining. Will definitely be back.

We stopped by this restaurant twice on our way back from NYC because it’s conveniently located right off I-95. The service was excellent both times—friendly and efficient. We ordered a full rack of ribs on each visit. The first time, they were a bit dry, so we decided to give them another shot. Unfortunately, the ribs were still a little dry the second time around. That said, we appreciated the great service and will probably try something different on the menu next time.

I was here about two weeks ago then again a few years ago! I always have a good experience and the food is so good. I loved and still think about the mashed potatoes lol. I had that with the salmon , salad, veggies and cheese steak rolls. It was my friend’s bridal shower 7/26/25 and the manager went above and beyond to make sure we were good and helped with breaking everything down.

What a terrific experience! The food, the service and the ambiance. Our server was great. She joked along with us, was very attentive, kept our glasses full of water and had the kitchen customize a dessert for our anniversaries. Our anniversary was yesterday and our friends' is next week, it was very sweet gesture. The seared Ahi tuna and lobster spinach queso appetizers were ordered. Nice, fresh and tasty. The lobster queso could have been thicker but definitely not a deal breaker. Entrees ordered were the Firebird's roasted chicken from the Savor the Season menu, 2 Smokehouse burgers, one with Parm mashed potatoes and the other with seasonal grain pilaf and a 3 course meal BLT salad, rack of ribs with a fruit cup and grilled street corn and creme brulee cheesecake for dessert. First, I must mention that the JAVA bbq sauce is absolutely delicious. It has everything the perfect bbq sauce needs, sweet, savory, sour, spicy and salty. Ah-mazing. Everything was great. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Mine was the 3 course meal. Probably one of the best deals going. Plenty of food and everything was cooked right. I've never even considered having fruit accompanying my ribs but it was terrific. Again, the sauce is next level.

Took my Mom to dinner here for dinner tonight. I was able to call at 6pm for reservations at 7:30. Then I called back and asked if we could move it to 7 instead. They were very accommodating and were able to get us in early. We were seated fast and greeted by our server Chris. Very polite and professional. He was quick with drinks and bread and taking our order. I got the surf and turf and she got a sirloin. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. We will definitely be coming back again soon. Thanks to Chris and the rest of the staff for giving us the perfect dining experience.

The food we ordered was delicious and well made. Got the Durango burger, sister got the grilled salmon salad. Good portion sizes. Waitress was attentive and courteous. Fresh bread was provided, warm and tasty. Order took a little long to get, and our waitress let us know. Room was large but busy and dark inside. Saw one person reading the menu with their flashlight.

Brewery
Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant is a well-known regional brewpub chain that offers a variety of housemade beers and elevated comfort food staples. The flagship restaurant, located in Newark, Delaware, takes its name from a historic Revolutionary War landmark. Since its establishment in 1996, the brewery has gained recognition for its high-quality handcrafted beers, boasting over 60 awards. Additionally, the restaurant has received acclaim for its prize-winning appetizers, soups, and outdoor dining experience.
Super service from Ava, who immediately offered free samples of their nicely rounded selection of beers. After a few pints, we had a wonderful dinner, and I recommend the chicken gumbo, which I would rate just a tad on the mild side. We will definitely be back and are looking forward to our next visit.

Iron hill was a pleasant surprise as I have been before and it was alright but this time for a friends birthday it was amazing! I got the Caesar Salad with grilled salmon and our party had an array of appetizers and meals. But to go back to the appetizers, we got the truffle fries (AMAZING), the Burrata dip (again so good), and the everyday bagel strips with a herb butter (which was fantastic). My friend also got the lobster Mac and cheese as a meal even though it is an appetizer but she loved it. There’s a few other meals pictured here which were all GREAT. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Newark. It’s a little higher priced but not super out there for a nicer restaurant.

Our first time dining at this Iron Hill. We stopped in for dinner after moving our daughter into her new apartment. Host was friendly. We were seated quickly, no wait. Server was a little lack luster but our order arrived without incident. Food was good (crab cake sandwich and hot pretzel appetizer pictured). With all the dining options on Main Street, there’s a lot of competition. If you’re looking for a casual, uncomplicated menu, a bar and/or American fare, Iron Hill is a decent stop.

Very pleasant! Went with a huge group of people (over 20) and the only issue was that they forgot to bring out a meal for someone. Other than that, super enjoyable experience. My salad was spectacular and would definetly go back if I found myself in the area again. Staff was kind too.

Stopped here for a quick lunch while passing through town with my husband snd my daughter. We were seated right away on a Sunday afternoon and there were no other customers in the restaurant, but we were seated at a booth with a huge rip and gaping hole in the vinyl. The food and service made up for it though. My daughter had the fried chicken sandwich. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich. And I had the turkey burger. We also had chips and queso to share. The location was convenient and we lucked out with street parking right in front of the restaurant.

Iron Hill Brewery is the best! The service was superb, thanks to our stellar server, Ciani, who was personable and efficient. Ciani checked on us often. Our pepper jack cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and honey garlic shrimp noodles with edamame and sprouts were not skimpy. I apologize to the viewers for my nearly missed meal photo. Our food was so tasty that I almost missed the chance to take a picture! At the end of our dining experience, I informed Ciani that she was superb, bc she was warm and friendly, she checked on us often, and she filled our water glasses before we could ask! Bonus: our meals arrived within 15 minutes of ordering, and were scrumptious!

From out of town and first time here. Our server Joe was attentive and beer and food came out quickly and was food. Ordered the Philly Phavorite IPA which was solid as well as the Reuben. Would recommend 👍.
Dave K — Google review
Beer is good but there is a lot to improve on the food in my opinion. For the positive points, nachos were very good and all the ingredients to prepare meals as well. For the negative ones, the Magherita pizza was salted, it was too much. The crust of pizza was like fried and pretty hard. The sweet potato fries were very soft whereas we expected it to be crunchy, maybe due to there thickness. The onions in the breaded onions were barely cooked. Other than that, the waiters were very nice, the atmosphere very good and the service quite fast. The payment method with mobile is very convenient.

Taverna Newark is a charming brick-walled bar and eatery that specializes in coal-fired pizzas, homemade pastas, and other Italian dishes. Whether you're looking for an upscale dining experience or a budget-friendly option, this restaurant has something for everyone. In addition to its cozy indoor dining area, Taverna also offers a food truck for those on the go. Visitors have praised the friendly and knowledgeable staff who provide excellent service.
Went here for dinner on a whim. Was sat quickly (was 4:45pm). Decor is nice, staff was friendly, waitress was very attentive. They served fresh bread with oil, refilled as well. Ordered rigatoni with sausage and all I can say is WOW! This was hands down the tastiest version I have ever had in my life. Slightly spicy so be prepared. My wife ordered the gnocchi dish which was cheese and cream based. She very much enjoyed hers as well. We will definitely be back!
AJ G — Google review
My wife and I try to do a date night every Friday and for this one we chose Taverna. The staff were nice and our waitress (Courtney) was great. We ordered from the restaurants new menu and it was worth it! We got the fried mozzarella, Cesar salad, gnocchi, and the rigatoni. Seriously, this meal was delicious. Easily some of the best Italian I’ve had out in a while. The meal was priced incredibly well also. The manager Patrick came and check on our table and he was awesome too. It was obvious that Patrick was dedicated to good service and it contributed to our great night! I recommend trying this spot.

I think Taverna Newark is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. Not only does it offer great food, but it is also reasonably priced. The restaurant looks rustic yet fancy. The customer service is impeccable and always makes you feel right at home. As I have been to the restaurant a couple of times, most of the things I had were great. Appetizers such as meatballs, whipped ricotta, and artichoke are great options to start the dinner. As mains, I recommend the pizzas and the sweet potato ravioli. Unfortunately, I think they need to improve on their meats. Both the chicken and the beef were dehydrated and lacked taste. However, I still think this place deserves five stars as their Italian classic shines through.
Lu K — Google review
Having walked past Taverna multiple times over the years, I'd never really thought much about stopping in. Then one night, decided to give it a try. Had a wonderful experience with some top quality wine and delicious Italian food. Looking forward to a future visit to Newark and the opportunity to dine here again.
Christopher C — Google review
It's your typical American version of southern Italian food which means good but a ton of food! Everyone had takeout boxes and it seemed the norm. My favorite was the truffle butter garlic bread which was amazing. Freshly baked bread, crispy crust, and hot salty butter on top. Yum! The Calamarata seemed to make it on top of everything's list but it seemed a little bland and needed a lot of salt. The Mushroom Agnolotti, on the other hand, was really flavorful and sweet (balsamic vinaigrette?). Definitely a winner. I added salmon to the carbonara dish. It was pretty good but I would have preferred it to be more creamy instead of being more oily. The ceasars salad was bland and also too oily. Pass. Overall, Taverna is not going to make it to any gourmet list but you won't feel like you just ate at the Olive Garden either. Worth visiting if you want a decent Italian and be prepared to take home a lot of extras!

Beef with risotto was one of the most tender pieces of meat I have had in a long time, as well as a great risotto. Only critique would be it needed more mushrooms. The whiskey sour was fantastic as well.

Very nice restaurant on main street. The food is made fresh and delicious. They don't rush you and you can enjoy your meal with no rush. They have outdoor seating as well and a bar. There is also a gelato station near the window while coming in. I did enjoy my seat which is the comfortable booths they have. It's a good place to eat when in the area. The staff was very friendly too.

14 of us had lunch together today. This restaurant is huge! We were all the way in the back in a private-type room for large parties. We were pretty far apart across from each other and had to scream to talk. It was cold in there and some people actually had brunch with their coats on. The lighting was very dim, so they had to bring out some lanterns for the table so we can see the menus. I ordered eggs benedict and it didn't have any Canadian bacon on it. They finally brought it out on a separate plate! The hollandaise sauce didn't have a lemony taste like it should. And there was an additional plain English muffin on the plate, as well as breakfast potatoes, and a salad of field greens. Don't know why I received an extra English muffin. Our servers, Alex and Gisele were terrific! They made the whole experience a lot better.

We usually come here for extra special occasions - it is not close to home. It is worth the trip North. Excellent food here - everything is homemade. Tonight I tried the short-rib ravioli and it was excellent plus plus. The little neck clams were clean and savory. Drinks were well crafted too. Kudos to the bartender. Our server did a good job of checking in on is without being invasive. The food came quick, but not rushed. They did a good job of pacing. Parking is on the street - pay to park except Sundays.

I booked a lunch buffet reception for 35ppl. The menu selection was extensive. The catering staff was very helpful with selecting and serving V & GF options. The food and service were great. Our space allowed our group to mix and mingle. There were many compliments from the guests.

Popped in for dinner and was able to get a table for two despite not having a reservation. The restaurant looks deceivingly small from the outside but has plenty of seating and appeared to also have a downstairs area with more seating. Plenty of gluten free options. We ordered the roasted beet salad as an appetizer and different seafood pastas with GF pasta. The waiter kindly brought gluten free bread upon request to eat with olive oil. We opted for the holiday cocktails, a Christmas Old Fashioned and Holiday Whisky Sour, which were delightful. There is an extensive wine menu which we didn’t partake in but saw a lot of options. We finished our meal with scoops of gelato, peppermint (monthly special) and pistachio. The food was wonderful as was the service. Highly recommend!!

Great impression for the first visit. The food was good but it felt it was not warm enough. the chicken Milanese was crispy and tasty with the pasta. The Lasagna was also great but it was missing some seasoning I believe. We also order the dessert Buddy cake it was delicious but if it was cold would been better. The customer service was very good and Michael was friendly and helpful. Our food was served to us in a timely manner. The place is huge plenty of seating inside or outside the restaurant. We are definitely coming back to try other stuff.

Our server was amazing..I wish the did was just as good. The calamari was way over cooked! The chicken tenders and the lamb chops were also over fried! Had a white sangria that was fair tasting..

I was really excited to go to this restaurant as I’d seen it many times at mostly ritzy and expensive shopping complexes and malls . I assumed that the atmosphere and food would be spectacular because of this . I was very disappointed . The food was sub par , dry and not well seasoned . I ordered calamari and lamb chops . I’ve had calamari at plenty of restaurants like capital grille , ocean prime , and etc . This was the worst . I also felt like the sides were cooked too much for my lamb chops meal as the fingerling potatoes was hard and the asparagus was soggy . The bread and butter that you get at the beginning of the meal was hard and had no taste . Tasted more like cornmeal . Also as far as the atmosphere , the weather was 90 outside , and inside it was 80 . The air conditioning was not on and there were flies and gnats flying around my table constantly . The only good thing was the service . Our waiter was very helpful and courteous . I would not recommend this place. Not sure if it’s the location or the restaurant itself but I won’t be back to spend my money .

You really had high expectations of that restaurant, to begin with, from the moment we sat down we could see 2 flies buzzing around our table and landing anywhere, when one of my children asked for a menu reference the waiter leaned over invading the entire table with his body, totally unhygienic, the bread they serve you before everything had a strong flavor as if the flour dough was rancid, the butter was tasteless, of the 6 orders we ordered only 2 were delicious, the crispy squid and the grilled shrimp, my family and I would not eat there again. this happened at BRIO in Cristiana Mall

Do not let the location or store front fool you. The food is stellar, and the service is extraordinary! The money is put where it matters. No chinzy decor, no fluff. Tables, chairs, and booths are comfortable, bar is intimate, and space for live music. We arrived just before closing after a very long tough week. We asked Melissa for hot tea, mint if there was any, and proceeded to peruse the menu and enjoy the live music. After a few minutes, she arrived with FRESH mint and green tea steeping! THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE! She explained that they didn't have mint tea bags, so she improvised. The tea was fantastic! We had the crab Artichoke dip- THE best I have ever had!! Oysters Rockefeller, an amazing Salmon Salad, and a Strawberry Basil drink that was exquisite!! We were never made to feel rushed, and all of the crew were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back. Thank you, everyone, for giving us a comforting, delicious end to a very hard week!!

My best friend loves this place so we met here for dinner 8/9/25. I enjoyed my time with her and the service was excellent, but the food has some positives and negatives. First of all I went here specifically for Fried Fresh Oysters (my favorite seafood) and before 6:00 pm on a Saturday they “ran out.” In addition, I overheard a different waitress telling another table that they “ran out of lobster.” Seems like poor planning to me for a seafood restaurant to run out of two major types of seafood that early in the day. The waitress Yarley was phenomenal and the male host was super friendly. Both checked in on us often & were very attentive. The complimentary rolls were fresh, hot, & delicious! The wedge salad was special made for us as a starter (without lobster) and it was great. Yarley even had it split up for us on two different plates. I am not one who usually complains about wait times because fresh food is worth waiting for and I understand being a chef is not easy especially when it gets busy. However, when we arrived it looked slow and gradually got a little busier, but they did not appear slammed at all and the wait was VERY long! We arrived at 5:55 pm and didn’t leave until 8:00 pm. On the waitress end everything was prompt. Our drinks and bread came out quick. Then we had our salad, but the wait between salad and two fried entree’s was at least 45 minutes if not an hour. I got the fried seafood platter, but don’t like Calamari, so they graciously substituted more shrimp instead. Our food was served hot. The fried shrimp & fish were good. The large scallops were delicious, however the crab cake was disappointing. If you’re going to call your restaraunt “Blue Crab Grill” your crab cakes should be on point & have some jumbo lump in them instead of looking more like a fish cake when you cut it in half. The baked potato was good. The coleslaw was delicious and my ice tea was perfectly brewed! The excellent front staff service tipped my review into 4 stars. If the food matched the service, this would be a 5 star.

Had a great experience at the Blue Crab Grill. Ordered half dozen oysters and a crab and shrimp salad. One of the oysters was a little off, but otherwise the rest of the meal was very nice. My crab bisque and seafood salad was fantastic !!! However my husband went for a steak and cake and steak was smaller than the crab cake , and plate was pricey $39.00 !! The jazz music played by Back Bay Trio was phenomenal 🌟💫

It was my birthday night, and I wanted some seafood with the family. I was not disappointed!! The menu had great selections that I would definitely come back and try. Drinks were perfect, with the perfect amount of alcohol and perfect balance of flavor. My only disappointment was my appetizer of the bacon wrapped shrimp. They seemed overcooked and a little on the small size.... other than that. Our server was awesome and very friendly. The food was delicious, and we will definitely make a return.

We held an event here in the newly renovated space. It was wonderful. The food was good and well priced. The room was clean and spacious. The live music in the main restaurant was not too loud and it added to the party. Our server Brittany went above and beyond (delivering cake and water to a nursing mama in the corner without being prompted, taking pictures, cutting cake, etc.). It was easy as can be to book it and the room was ready when we arrived, even with favors set up. Then we got to take extra food home. 10/10 would recommend!

Nestled in the heart of Downtown Newark on Main Street, Home Grown Cafe is a vibrant eatery that celebrates local flavors and artistic talent. This beloved spot has been a staple for over two decades, offering an inviting atmosphere adorned with rotating local art and live music nearly every night. Known for its commitment to high-quality vegetarian cuisine, Home Grown Cafe caters to diverse dietary preferences, including vegan and gluten-sensitive options alongside hearty meat dishes.
With how many memories I’ve made here over the years, I’m genuinely surprised I never even thought to leave a review. From small celebrations, to dates, to brunch gatherings with friends and so much more, I have experienced over 12 years of my time and memories with Home Grown and can safely say it’s my favourite place to be. The food is consistently spectacular, the staff is so welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere is perfectly casual. Any time I have a new friend visit from out of area, this is one of the first places I take them. They don’t have an overly-complex menu, but they accommodate for pretty much every dietary restriction you can think of. A vast selection of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and omnivore options makes Home Grown a top choice for dining. The menu for both drinks and food rotates seasonally, so there’s always something new to try even if you go frequently. If you’re looking for a recommendation, I almost always get the buffalo cauliflower. Their salads are very well balanced, the burgers are great, and I’d definitely recommend going out of your comfort zone and trying something seasonal. Home Grown is truly the crown gem of Delaware.

This is my favorite restaurant! I’ve always struggled with dietary issues, so I appreciate the vast amount of delicious vegan options. My personal favorite item on the menu is the carrot cake! I believe they changed the recipe not too long ago, so now the cake is bigger and more flavorful than before! It was delicious!! On top of that, the atmosphere and staff are INCREDIBLE. This photo is from the last time I visited :) I believe this is the Southwestern chili and sweet potato fries. Would 1000000% recommend!

I have been going here for years very diverse menu for all eating types and a lot of homemade unique dishes, especially for vegans I highly recommend. Located on the main street of the University of Delaware campus. College town with a lot of quality restaurants. Food dishes, shown are all vegan.

I love the comic art on the walls. Bonus to the awesome staff in accommodating for handicap needs. Forgot to mention we loved the hummus appetizer. The portions were HUGE! Was not expecting that. BBQ mac and cheese and the green goddess sandwich hit the spot. Thumbs up to the kombucha.

I recently visited Homegrown Cafe on Main Street with my mom, and our experience was absolutely delightful. From the moment we walked in, the waitresses welcomed us with friendly smiles and were incredibly accommodating. Their enthusiasm and genuine happiness to serve made our visit even more enjoyable. The cafe was spotless, including the bathrooms, which is always a good sign. I ordered the peanut butter French toast and the land and sea shrimp and grits, while my mom had the smoked salmon toast. Every bite was delicious, and the meals were very affordable. Though we did have a bit of a wait since it was a busy Saturday morning, the manager came out to personally address it and was very kind and accommodating. This level of service truly stood out to us. I have not had a bad meal here since. Homegrown Cafe consistently delivers excellent food and a great atmosphere, making it a place I always leave happy and eager to return. Even the leftovers are something to look forward to, which says a lot about the quality of the food!

Two Stones Pub

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Two Stones Pub is a vibrant gastropub that offers an impressive array of craft beers alongside elevated takes on classic bar fare. This lively spot has become a favorite hangout for college students and locals alike, making it the perfect place to unwind with friends. The atmosphere is buzzing, especially during events like $1 wing night, where patrons can indulge in a variety of flavorful wings and other delicious dishes such as chorizo tacos and turkey burgers.
Food was hot and fresh, beer could have been colder but Justin is a real comedian and a great server. The Jamaican sweet potato fries were excellent! And the Bread Pudding always is!

We ordered ghost wings, pulled pork burger, meatloaf and grilled cheese.Presentation great. Service was pleasant. Great atmosphere. Wings could have been crispier but it had great flavor! We got beer too. Good selection in draft.

Music…a guest solo guitarist/singer was awesome!! Sorry, not sure of his name but he was great!! Unfortunately I can’t say the same about the food and waitress, who was probably too young to know any better when it comes to good food or proportion sizes. We came for a meal but weren’t enticed enough by the entrée selection to actually order one, so instead settled for three appetizers. 10 big wings for $19.95 is what we were expecting according to the menu. When we asked the waitress about them and the fact that the menu stated that they were “Big”, she said there was a lot of meat on them and not breaded. So we went for it, figuring the $19.95 price tag (approximately $2.00/wing) would be justified given the waitress said they were worth the price and that we wouldn’t be disappointed. Well, she, again, probably was not aware of what a $2.00 “Big” wing should look like. As far as the fries, not cooked well and limp with too much oil. Potstickers were supposed to come with six pieces according to our waitress, but arrived with five. If you’re out for the atmosphere, then go for it!! But if you’re hungry for a good meal, maybe go for the next place you were contemplating.
Nika V — Google review
Ordered takeout was told 15 mins, was actually 42 minutes before food was ready. Was never offered a drink while I wait or anything. We got the food home and the wet wipes for your hands are IN the wing container? Covered in sauce? Do better or close up shop, wont be back. Edit: none of my reviews mention ice or tp. Your staff is lying to you because nothing about my review was false. Your attempt to cover for your inadequacies as a business owner by calling me a clown and lying in a public forum is telling. Wishing you all the best in training your staff on basic food prep and packaging.

Good food and drinks. Wonderful atmosphere and awesome service. The fries, fish tacos and sandwich was delicious 👍🏻, I didn’t quite like the wings with bone👎 everything else was ok.

This bar was the perfect spot for me and my frat boys to come hang out at last Friday! We had such a great time here. We love to look for other cute guys as well and they were all around considering this is close to the college. Great service as well! Definitely coming back! I got a burger and fries my boys got a mix of other foods !! FRAT BOYS RULE !! They have booths and if u sit at a booth like me and the boys do u r seen as superior and u have a lot of power and authority! If you sit at a table, you are seen as weak and submissive! BOOTH GANG !!

I checked into my hotel directly behind the two stones pub. I was tired from a long drive and I wasn’t sure I felt like going out to get something to eat but nevertheless I went. I ordered boneless buffalo wings with a sweet jerk sauce. The restaurant got both parts of my order wrong. They brought me bone in wings with a sesame sauce. Needless to say, I didn’t realize this, although it didn’t taste spicy. I ate all the wings, and every single one of them was delicious. The people that work there were extremely friend, and personable. Our waitress Alani was more than ready to return my order and correct it but after tasting it, I told her no bother. She was fantastic. I highly recommend this spot as a great place for a beer and wings. Kudos to the staff.

Two Stones Pub is on the money. We came down for a University of Delaware hockey game. Did not plan ahead for a food spot. Found this place on Google. It’s friendly, clean and the food tastes great! The vibe is cool. Brings back great memories. You won’t be disappointed. Go to TSP today! God Bless America! God Bless Blue & Gold! Remember Everyone Deployed Everyday!

Bertucci's Italian Restaurant

$$$$affordable
Italian restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Bertucci's Italian Restaurant is a family-friendly chain that offers traditional Italian dishes and pizzas, along with cocktails, wine, and beer. Recently, a customer had a last-minute pregnancy craving and decided to order from Bertucci's for delivery. However, there was some inconvenience as the usual method of ordering through UberEats was not possible in order to take advantage of the 2FORTUESDAY pizza deal. After contacting the restaurant directly, the staff was helpful and quickly addressed their concerns.
Fabi was such a lovely and welcoming server. She made sure we had everything we needed and was attentive and pleasant. Our food was very yummy too! The bread and oil was tasty, my husband enjoyed the chicken Alfredo, and my chicken picatta was delicious. I didn’t know our meal came with the free bread and we also ordered the garlic knots so I probably won’t do that again. The pasta dinners also come with a side salad. We definitely needed boxes to go! Plan to spend ~30 per person for an app, entré, and soda.

Fabi, our waitress and Shannon, the manager provided amazing service. The food here in this location continues to live up to our expectations. It’s always fresh and the best quality. They were always accommodating with everything we needed. I highly recommend this location and once again, we had a great experience here in Bertucci's, Christiana!
Betina T — Google review
Visited this restaurant for the first time after seeing the impressive 4.8 out of 5 rating, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the expectations. I ordered the roasted veggie pizza, which surprisingly came without any red or white sauce and was extremely oily—almost like it had been deep-fried. The tomato soup was also underwhelming and lacked flavor. On a positive note, the complimentary bread with olive oil was excellent. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

Absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be coming here more often. Baylee was so kind and attentive — she took our order right away, checked in with us, and really made the whole dining experience enjoyable. Highly recommend this place!

What an incredible experience! Michael B. is by far the best waiter we have ever had. He was attentive to every detail—refilling our drinks before we even had to ask. His outstanding service is truly an asset to your establishment, and we couldn't be more pleased. I ordered The Papi pizza with Michael’s personal twist, and it was absolutely heavenly.

The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the eggplant parma, and it was really tasty. The service was excellent too. My boyfriend ordered a large pizza and he said the pizza was excellent. Our waiter Raf-el was really kind, funny and attentive, always making sure we had full drinks and if our experience was going well so far. The atmosphere is really relaxing as well. I've came here plenty of times and with the excellent food and service I keep coming back!

Rayna gave excellent service. She made me feel special and fuzzy inside on my birthday. Also I noticed Shannon and Monica and the rest of what seemed to be the management team helping the takeout area, kitchen staff, and outside expo with both finesse and expertise that you don't find often. The environment was friendly and the restaurant is running better than it has in years. I just need Michael pink to work more night shifts because I can only make it in at night amd I never see him when im here. Once again, make Michael work nights please

Transportation in Newark

Getting around Newark can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Philadelphia International Airport

International airport
Airport
Philadelphia International Airport, located seven miles southwest of downtown Philadelphia, is the largest airport in the Delaware Valley region. It offers direct rail service and features rotating art exhibitions as well as aviation-themed play areas for kids. The airport provides a positive travel experience with friendly and professional staff, a variety of quality stores, and numerous dining options. Travelers can choose from various parking options to suit their needs and budgets.
Philadelphia Airport has always been a reliable airport. Customers service and vendor options have been improved a lot over the past couple years and TSA has always been significantly fast compared to other major airports across the US. Rankings and reviews are often lower due to connecting passengers on American, but most residents in this region voice their preference for Philly over New York airports. Keep an open mind, follow the signs, and grab something to eat! If you’re connecting - give yourself a relaxed layover. Don’t hate the airport because of the tight flights you booked. Excited for the future and rebrand!
Zac Y — Google review
The airport moves you along pretty smoothly. The signs let you know updates about your flight. It is kept pretty clean but the bathrooms se very old and the airport needs updating. They keep it very warm which is not pleasant after a long flight. The people are helpful and they have some cute shops to go shopping if your flight is delayed.
Naomi S — Google review
Overall a very clean airport and I can’t fault the airport for the stupidity of airlines making you run from one terminal to the next. Just remember best food and shops are in the main terminal. This is a layover airport for me so I don’t know of parking or security lines.
Michael B — Google review
Good experiences traveling through Philly airport on my way home Europe. Ease of transfer from one terminal to the next, via bus bus ok, was acceptable. International terminal with BA was comfortable with plenty of seating. Coffee shop, snack place close by....way too expensive, more than other similar airports for what they offer. The Lego liberty bell close by is a great spot for selfies.
C V — Google review
Not a bad airport - some bathrooms are really nice, not all. Some interesting art scattered and a nice open baggage area. Kind of hard to navigate to get to rental car facility. Not the best signage to help navigate and info desk misled us to walk to Avis. Which was not a good idea. Carts are not free which is okay but I know a lot of places are moving to free carts. Nice shops and restaurants though.

I arrived at the airport in the morning on a weekend on Saturday. There are many choices in terms of restaurants where we can have breakfast but I found it difficult to find the price because I saw there are menus on the wall screen without price. I hesitated entering the restaurants for breakfast because I don't know how much it's going to take. I found out that there are many bars. Even in the morning I see people sitting on the counter drinking. I'm wondering if they're drinking alcohol or they're just drinking morning coffee? I was Thursday because I didn't had any drink on the airplane. I wanted to buy water but after I scanned the water bottle I first find out the water cost $6 and I gave up and went straight to the Starbucks which I know exactly how much it is because I'm using the app. I'm astonished by the low rating of the Starbucks but I didnt find any problem with the service and also taste. I would suggest you scan the QR code outside of the restaurant and look at the menu before you entered. There are many places where you can got water if you have an empty bottle. So probably next time I will bring my water bottle when I came to Philadelphia airport. But if you have no problem with spending money in the airport, this place has a lot of places that provides you food, drink and all the things you need. And they are open early in the morning so 4 stars for the variety of choices.

Fun airport. We had a 3 1/2 hour layover, and it was enjoyable to look at all of the things. A really fun touch was all of the movies that were filmed in Philadelphia, and the fun artwork pieces. Edit: we flew back through PIA on our way to Minneapolis. The process of going through customs to walk your checked bag to another belt was interesting, but my wife signed up for the app (MPC), and that made the process of getting through customs much easier. We then proceeded to walk outside to the sea gates instead of the egg gates so that we could get through security more quickly.

This was my first time connecting here. We landed at terminal F and had to go all the way to B. They have a shuttle you take to get to.each terminal. There was no wait and were at our gate in about 5 minutes. The airport has a cool vibe with lots of shopping and food choices. The gate we boarded at was chaotic as we were on a large, sold out plane going across the US. I felt the boarding process could have had better communication and coordination but overall we boarded without issues. We were on the tarmac, in line, for 20 minutes waiting to be cleared for take off. This is a congested airport but overall not an awful experience.
