Sydney Seaplanes

Airplane
Sydney Seaplanes and Sydney by Seaplane offer scenic flights over the harbor, taking off and landing at Rose Bay. Visitors can enjoy romantic day trips to waterside restaurants in Hawkesbury or explore Palm Beach. Despite weather-related flight cancellations, the team was accessible and accommodating, offering refunds and alternative arrangements. The seaplane experience provides breathtaking aerial views of Sydney, with helpful staff ensuring a pleasant experience despite weather challenges.
I got the Cottage Point Inn package and cannot recommend it enough! A wonderful experience from start to finish - if you want to take in Sydney from the air and indulge in a delectable lunch, with an adrenaline rush on the way back, do this! Excellent to celebrate a special occasion or person. Highly recommended!

An absolutely stunning experience. Our pilot, Lucky, as great. He kept us safe and entertained. I cannot recommend this flight (and Lucky) more highly. Such a unique way to get to lunch at Peats Bite on the Hawkesbury River. Book this afternoon at your earliest possible convenience!
Mark H — Google review
It's a slight pity that on the day when we were supposed to fly, that the winds were too strong. Was really looking forward to the plane ride, and the meal after at Berowra Waters Inn. Appreciate the very easily accessible team through their support channels. That said, the team was still especially kind to 1) call a couple of hours prior to flight time, 2) refund the amount paid back into the credit card, and 3) facilitate us enjoying ourselves at the restaurant the rest of the day. Rose Bay is especially gorgeous in the Summer. Will be back some day for the experience!
Flo Y — Google review
Terrific experience! We booked a seaplane to take us to Peats Bite (on the Hawkesbury River) for lunch. The dining experience was amazing but equally as good was our flight to the restaurant. We got Lucky (he was the pilot), and he was highly skilled, professional, and FUN.
Mark B — Google review
Excellent activity if you want to see the best Sydney from up above. We did Sydney secrets + lunch as a birthday treat and it was a lovely experience. The flight itself was amazing and the food that followed were just as great. Highly recommended activity. Thank you :)
Reni I — Google review
Bought a voucher from them for 2 people, flights and Berowra Waters Inn package to gift someone for their milestone birthday. When the recipient called them to book, for her and her husband (who is very ill) they incorrectly took down the wrong phone number and the recipient could not be contacted. When the recipient called them to check what was happening, they said the voucher had already been redeemed and that they had been calling the phone number to no avail. The voucher was not redeemed. They could have contacted me on my phone number which was on the system as I was the purchaser but they just want any excuse not to redeem the voucher, take your money and leave you in the lurch. This milestone occasion has been spoiled by this company who have taken no responsibility for their mistake. A beautiful degustation meal at Berowra Waters Inn for two people with flights has not been enjoyed by anyone just because they did this!! There are many other companies to buy these vouchers from so please do your research and if you decide to us this company, do not give them your details verbally as they request it, make sure you send it to them in writing so they don't do what they did to us.
Good P — Google review
We hired a house at Berowra waters for my birthday and flying there and back with these guys was fantastic! Thanks Izzy and Lachie for two very entertaining flights - and to Nick for dealing with the ever changing passengers, and drop off times and places?? Finished the trip with one last birthday lunch at the Empire Lounge - perfect all round - we’ll be back next year!
Caroline D — Google review
What an amazing experience! Definitely one of those "Bucket List" trips that is well worth the money. Staff was so welcoming and friendly and had a wealth of knowledge to share! We chose seaplane with lunch at Berowra waters inn restaurant. The restaurant was disappointing but I definitely recommend the seaplane experience.

Nestled along the picturesque Sydney Harbour, Taronga Zoo is a must-visit destination for animal lovers and adventure seekers alike. Home to over 350 distinct species, this vibrant zoo offers an immersive experience that connects visitors with wildlife in a stunning natural setting. Accessible via a scenic ferry ride from the city center, it provides breathtaking views of iconic landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
An absolutely wonderful place and what a view! So many animals to look at and they all seem very healthy and well looked after. There's loads of viewing areas for each enclosure and space for everyone. We visited on a busy school holiday day and there was enough room for all. I love the fact that there are lots of zoo workers around to help or answer questions. The ticket price is well worth it. Well done Taronga Zoo.
Debs M — Google review
Beautiful zoo, very well maintained and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of walking areas and shaded promenades. The full visit, including the shows, takes around 4 to 5 hours. My advice: arrive early in the morning when the animals (especially the koalas) are most active. The views are absolutely stunning — overlooking the entire Sydney skyline, the Opera House, and Harbour Bridge. Staff are super friendly and helpful. A must-do for anyone visiting Sydney or looking for a great day escape!
Arnaud B — Google review
Fantastic zoo, really well built and easy to navigate. The enclosures are all really well done and the animals look very happy and healthy. The food market was great and plenty of water stations around. I was surprised that the zoo didn't have any elephants but the seals did make up for it. We were lucky to catch the seal show which was brilliant. All in all a great day out.
Dexter M — Google review
I’m visiting from California. It’s a beautiful zoo. Public transportation made it easy to get there. I was there on Saturday, October 3, 2025, about 30 minutes after it opened. I bought my tickets online as suggested at their gate. I didn’t wait in line and took the shuttle up. You can start at the bottom if you want. The Zoo is hilly but there are a lot of ramps for wheelchair access or strollers. Great place to take your family or do a solo trip. Also, there are water fountains and bathrooms everywhere. Photos are taken using the iPhone 17 pro max. Some photos are using the 8x zoom. I’m not a professional photographer.
Karen P — Google review
I had an amazing time at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney! Definitely best to go for a full day to get the most out of it. The ferry across from Circular Quay was beautiful with great views of the opera house on the way (roughly 15 minute ferry transfer) Once we arrived there was a slight wait for the bus to travel up to the entrance - you can walk up but it’s a fair distance to the top and I found it was nice to work you way down the zoo from the top to the bottom. Lots of animals to see and experiences with close encounters. Only downside really was the food which was a bit average but not terrible all things considered.
Gianni P — Google review
Beautiful. Fun to get to via the ferries and direct bus service are convenient. Staff at the hut where Zoo members/friends go for free entry could be nicer, staff inside are wonderful, had a young lad help us to seats at a packed bird show. Cute restuarant (wish we had lunch there), the food court, where we had lunch unfortunetly, had overflowing bins and zero trays to carry your food. The Zoo itself is very hilly and takes a good full day to see and experience everything.
Kathryn D — Google review
Not the best zoo but a fun day out and is pretty cool being able to see animals with the city behind. Cons were that a lot of the animals were sleeping and out of sight or just impossible to see, probably didn’t help that we came across the giraffe first and they were probably the best to watch. Good to check out but won’t be in a hurry to go back
Jacinta M — Google review
Took the ferry from Circular Quay across to the Zoo on a Sunday. It’s a large site to walk around but what we really wanted to see were the Australian native animals of kangaroos, koalas, emus, wallaby’s etc which we did as well as red pandas, snakes, seals, birds etc. and indeed we did!! Overall a great way to spend a few hours in a nice environment.

Nature & Parks
Bondi Beach is a renowned Australian beach located just seven kilometers from Sydney's CBD in the Eastern Suburbs. It boasts a wide sandy shoreline, waterfront dining options, and a skate park. The crescent-shaped beach is adorned with golden white sand and surrounded by lush green headlands, creating a picturesque setting. Bondi Beach attracts visitors year-round and gained international fame through the popular TV show 'Bondi Rescue.'
A beautiful beach. The water is really blue and the sand is fine, so you can happily stand for a while and enjoy the shore. I really loved this place. It's a must visit. Bondi fests are held in July at this place. There are many cafes and eat stores nearby. There are open stalls where you can purchase anklets, bands, etc as a memory. It has a garden area, and beach together, where kids can enjoy a lot. There are showers, taps, to clean up from the sand. It's a very good facility for all. It's a pet friendly place. There are also benches installed so elders can also have seating arrangements.

Amazing vibe to Bondi Beach ⛱️ It looks like it gets cleaned up daily. 🗑 A lot of 'Health and Fitness' activities.🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️ A great place to visit get your motivation back if you've lost it 😅 Will definitely be back 🤩
Richard S — Google review
The Undisputed King: Iconic Bondi Beach "Bondi Beach is more than just Sydney's most popular tourist beach—it's the heartbeat of Australian beach culture, all conveniently located just a stone's throw from the city! The golden, sweeping sand and the electric-blue waves are absolutely postcard-perfect. It's the one beach in Sydney where you can instantly feel the energy: the surfers carving up the waves, the famous yellow and red of the 'Bondi Rescue' lifeguards on patrol, and the buzzing crowd that makes you feel like you're right where the action is. What makes it truly special is the incredible atmosphere. It’s the perfect blend of serious surf action, relaxed sunbathing, and world-class people-watching. You can grab a coffee from a trendy cafe right on the promenade, dive into the historic Icebergs pool , or just sit on the sand and soak up the unique, laid-back-but-lively vibe. Since it's so close to the CBD (easily reached by a short bus trip), it’s the ultimate, accessible escape. If you're visiting Sydney and only have time for one beach, make it Bondi. It’s iconic for a reason—it’s an essential, exhilarating taste of the Australian coastal lifestyle. A guaranteed 5-star experience!" #hikingdiarybyabid

It's a fun beach. Waves are a decent size although the current does seem to gain in strength randomly. There's so much to do around the beach though in terms of exploring, with walking paths on both sides. It's also very easy to get to with the 333 bus.

One of our favorite beaches to visit when in Sydney. Great for swimming, surfing, sunbathing, and hiking on the trails around it. Good food spots and fun atmosphere
Derrin H — Google review
Absolutely Beautiful Beach! I believe it does need a bit of TLC or upgrades in the area. Lifeguards are lovely and enjoy the atmosphere ♥️ In very much love with the place. Please continue to look after this beautiful location.
Penny R — Google review
Very kewl! Great people watching! Gets crowded on weekends, but the vibe is young and vibrant. Lots of restaurants. Ate at the Promenade! A nice on the beach upscale restsurant!
Susanne — Google review
Got to be done right? It’s iconic for its surf scene and the Icebergs swimming pool. Plenty of people on the beach and in the water. Was a little surprised that the T4 train didn’t take you closer than Bondi junction so whilst we had anticipated a fair walk I just wonder why the line was never extended. That said it was nice to just sit and people watch.

One the of most beautiful bay close to the city. Small pretty beach with amazing harbour views. Absolutely one of the most beautiful beaches for walking relaxing having a picnic with your family. Quiet little Beach with low tides easily walked far into the waters and still only ankles deep. It's an ideal spot for swimming and kayaking, and has a number of dinghy racks available for hire.

Nice spot to visit. Had the beach to myself on a winter morning.

I really recommend here If you want to see sunset you can come here I believe here is the best place in Sydney

I usually don't write negative reviews but honestly you're better off just going to one of the many other great beaches in the area. I love dogs and have several of my own but some pet owners have no consideration for others. All good though, we just went to another beach and had an awesome day.

Best beach 👌 to take your dog, ⛱️ beautiful water and views of Rose Bay, there is shower and restrooms , you can hire paddlebroads and kayaks from Rose Bay aquatic hire which is a the beginning of Rose Bay Beach ⛱️ this beach is one minute to New South Head Rd Rose Bay shopping 🛍 Village! There is Rose Bay RSL CLUB, with a VIP dog 🐕 groom's in the RSL carpark at the beginning of Rose Bay Beach ⛱️ you can play with your puppy in Rose Bay Beach ⛱️ then take the for VIP grooming services while having prawns and beers 🍻 at the RSL!!!

Came here on a Monday morning beginning of August when it's cloudy, very quiet at this time, very peaceful. Lovely sand, gentle shore line, a bit of seaweed but not too much for a swim. There's some toilet blocks and showers at the centre of the beach too(photo shown). Dog friendly beach; dogs are mostly off lead so if you have a reactive dog perhaps not for you.

Wonderful and smooth experience! We came on a beautiful winter morning and rang the number on the shed. The very nice owner assisted us getting the kayak out and provided some advice. It was very easy to get the kayak ready and paddle off. Can highly recommend his business!

Lance was great and went above and beyond - self serve was really straightforward. Thought it would be scary but it was an amazing day and paddling to Shark Island and back was far more doable than I expected! Great work out and peaceful. No better place to Kayak from than here!

If you’re ever looking for an out-of-the-ordinary experience in Sydney, this is the place! The owner is honestly the nicest guy you’ll ever meet, and we just had the BEST day out on the water. This is definitely going to be a regular spot for us!

Forget about Bridgeclimb!! The best kept secret… on the Stdney Harbour. The kayaks are so stable. Brought young children several times, it’s very safe and no experience required. 15 min of padding to get these views. Unforgettable.
Daisy G — Google review
Great experience all around! Lance was super helpful and the instructions were clear. I went out at sunrise on a cloudy morning and had the harbor almost to myself, save the commuting ferries. Afterwards had a nice coffee and breakfast nearby.

Perfect Sunrise SUP Experience! An absolutely beautiful morning SUP at Point Piper! From the very first message, communication was fantastic, clear directions from the ferry, helpful advice on the best time for the best views, and great attention to detail to ensure we had the best experience. The paddle itself was stunning, and the added bonus of having photos taken for us means we have a wonderful memory of the day. Such a thoughtful touch! What a way to start the day, highly recommend!

Attractive 9 hole course in Rose Bay. Good fairways and greens. Clubhouse is a bit tired and not very friendly.

Great place to have lunch and watch the kids play rugby on a Sunday. The food was nice, my children really enjoyed the pulled pork tacos. Parking was tricky, but if you arrive as a team is leaving, you can get lucky.

Good course, it can get bunched up so be smart with your start time. There's a few challenging holes and some very easy ones, so it's probably not challenging enough for some but great for intermediate players.

Great little course. Not too challenging and very forgiving. Greens were in great condition. I was very impressed for a public course!

Sights & Landmarks
The Sydney Opera House is an iconic arts center located on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, offering breathtaking views of the harbor, bridge, and city skyline. With over 1,600 performances annually, it hosts a diverse range of events including opera, theatre, music, dance, and comedy shows. This architectural marvel is a must-see attraction that draws millions of visitors each year. Its unique design and cultural significance make it a standout feature of the picturesque Sydney Harbour.
The Sydney Opera House is truly one of the world’s most iconic landmarks and an unforgettable place to visit. From the moment you arrive at Circular Quay and catch sight of its unique sail-shaped design, you feel a sense of awe and admiration. The architecture is absolutely stunning, blending modern creativity with timeless elegance. It is not only a symbol of Sydney but also a masterpiece that represents Australia to the world. Visiting the Opera House offers much more than just admiring its exterior. Inside, the atmosphere is equally impressive, with beautifully designed concert halls and theatres that provide excellent acoustics and world-class performances. Whether it is a symphony, ballet, opera, or theatre production, every show staged here feels special because of the venue’s ambience. The quality of performances is always outstanding, leaving the audience inspired and entertained. The location of the Opera House makes the experience even more memorable. Surrounded by the sparkling waters of Sydney Harbour, it offers breathtaking views, especially at sunset when the building glows against the skyline. Walking around the Opera House, you can also enjoy the Royal Botanic Gardens nearby or take in the lively atmosphere of Circular Quay. What makes the Sydney Opera House even more appealing is that it welcomes everyone. You don’t have to attend a performance to appreciate it—you can simply tour the building, enjoy its cafes, or relax by the harbour. It is a must-visit attraction that perfectly combines art, culture, and natural beauty.
Pravin R — Google review
Booked the tour and dining experience for $81 weeks in advance. Tour started and ended on time with a group of around 20. Headsets were provided so that everyone can hear the live tour guide. They will ask you to check in any medium or large sizes bags or backpacks, but it's easy and free. Tour involved some easy, short walks and steps, but anyone can manage. Very informative and worth doing. The dining add on gives you 3 restaurant options to choose from, all very close by. There's a special, limited menu just for this deal. I chose Midden which had no wait for lunch time and went with the barramundi dish and pinot grigio. The fish was excellent, perfectly cooked and thoughtfully flavored. Asked for no added salt and they were able to accommodate. Wine was good as well and recommended by the server. Overall, a great tour and dining experience that's reasonably priced

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Iconic Masterpiece! The Sydney Opera House is truly one of the most breathtaking landmarks I’ve ever visited. The architecture is stunning from every angle — whether you’re viewing it from the harbour, the bridge, or up close, it never loses its magic. The area around Circular Quay is lively, with great cafes and restaurants, and the atmosphere feels uniquely Sydney. I attended a performance here and the acoustics were incredible, making the whole experience unforgettable. Even just walking around the forecourt at sunset is worth the visit. Perfect spot for photos, relaxing, and soaking in the city’s energy. Highly recommend visiting both day and night — it’s a world-class attraction that lives up to every bit of its fame.
Suraj S — Google review
The structure is amazing… just like the pictures you see in Internet. Easy to move around. Handicap friendly. Many spots for snacks and even for lunch or dinner. Inside is big enough to run several events at the same time. We saw The Shiralee… excellent play presentation. Buster really run the show. The terrace around the Opera offers great spots for pictures and opportunities to crash on weddings… many diverse weddings. If you have time, you can visit the Botanical Garden nearby. You can’t miss it, if you are in Sydney!
Yolanda G — Google review
Of course, the iconic tourist attraction! We usually only take pictures from the outside whenever visiting the Sydney Opera House (SOH). But Alhamdulillah this year we had the chance to watch the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) performance. The architecture is really unique. The view from inside SOP to the Harbour Bridge and the surrounding areas is breathtaking! Each performance lasted around 1.5 hours. The multimedia facility as additional modern setting adds to the amazing theatrical experience. I did not expect to watch the ACO with documentary screening as background. There are bar and café on the main concern hall that serves drinks and light snacks. You can enter from the main entrance located under the primary stairs structure, or you can enter via a door with security check-in table to right after the tourist ticketing area. There are many concerts and arts performances for all ages, not just classical opera or orchestra as I used to think. Well, a famous landmark does not need recommendation. It speaks for itself.
Ira S — Google review
This is a wonderful place where has stunning scenery, cheerful atmosphere, and a broad footpath. I just come here and walk beside the sea and it is unforgettable because of the relaxing atmosphere and the sound of waves. In my experience, it is suitable for solo travel if you get into walking around and watching good scenery.

Beautiful building. Fantastic to hear a performance in the Concert Hall. Take the Architectural Tour - history of design and build, with building's features - is a must. Our tour guide was Peter, a former architect, so we had an especially great tour. Lunch was an extra treat!

From the moment I saw your magnificent building for the first time, I felt a deep, powerful sense of wonder. Growing up in Vanuatu, a place where our history and stories are carved into sand and told through generations of song and dance, the Sydney Opera House was an icon of a different kind of artistry—a modern-day masterpiece and a long-held dream.

Sydney Harbour Bridge, an iconic structure opened in 1932, offers the thrilling BridgeClimb experience and the Pylon Lookout with exhibitions. Beyond its fame, Sydney's surroundings offer unique experiences like camping beneath the bridge or glamping in a zoo with a harbor view. The city's wild heart extends to camping areas and caravan parks near the CBD, while train rides from Central Station lead to the Blue Mountains or coastal beaches.
This was such a great walk across the bridge. One has a choice to take the hike up above or walk along the path that is more level and the views quite spectacular. There are a few spots to sit and rest if needed as well.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the most remarkable landmarks in Australia and an absolute must-visit when in Sydney. Known as the “Coathanger” because of its unique shape, this bridge is not only an engineering marvel but also a symbol of the city’s history and pride. Whether you are walking across it, driving over it, or simply admiring it from afar, the Harbour Bridge leaves a lasting impression. One of the best experiences is taking a leisurely walk across the bridge. The pedestrian walkway provides stunning views of the Sydney Opera House, the sparkling harbour, and the vibrant city skyline. It is especially breathtaking at sunrise or sunset when the light reflects off the water, creating an unforgettable scene. For those seeking adventure, the famous BridgeClimb offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to climb to the very top, where you are rewarded with panoramic views that stretch as far as the Blue Mountains. The bridge is not just about sightseeing—it’s a living part of Sydney’s daily life. Thousands of cars, trains, cyclists, and pedestrians cross it every day, making it both functional and iconic. The blend of practicality and beauty makes it stand out as one of the greatest bridges in the world. Whether viewed from a ferry on the harbour, the Opera House steps, or from the top during a climb, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is truly spectacular. It represents strength, connection, and the spirit of Sydney. A visit here is always inspiring and memorable.
Pravin R — Google review
Standing atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge was an unforgettable experience. The panoramic views of the Sydney Opera House, the sparkling harbor waters, and the city skyline were absolutely breathtaking. Walking across the bridge gave me a real sense of how massive and iconic this structure is — a true feat of engineering. The climb to the top was surprisingly smooth and well-guided, and the safety measures made the entire journey feel comfortable and secure. The fresh breeze off the harbor and the sight of ferries passing below added to the magic of the moment. What really stood out to me was how the Harbour Bridge brings the city together — both literally and symbolically. Whether you're walking, cycling, or driving across, there's a sense of connection to Sydney's history and its vibrant present. The guides were knowledgeable and shared fascinating stories about the bridge's construction and role in the city's development. It's more than just a bridge — it's a living part of Sydney's culture. If you're visiting, I’d say this is absolutely a must-do.
Edrea P — Google review
It is a must experience to walk through the bridge! Stunning views, and about 20/30min walking :) You can also pay to go up the little museum and have an even better view, but we didn’t do it and had the greatest time, still.
Ana C — Google review
So you can pay the crazy bucks to climb the bridge, the less crazy dollars to go to the viewpoint of just take the free elevator and walk across it. We did the later and the views are amazing. Definitely a sight to behold both from being on the bridge to just viewing it from the Rocks area. It’s just iconic.

The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, established in 1816, is the oldest scientific institution in Australia. Spanning 30 hectares, it offers a tranquil escape within the bustling city. With over 8000 species of plants from around the world, including ancient rainforest trees and delicate desert flowers, this garden provides a serene environment for nature enthusiasts.
One of the places I really enjoyed visiting was the Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney, Australia. It’s located right next to the Opera House and overlooks the Sydney Harbour, so the views are absolutely stunning. The garden is huge and beautifully maintained. There are colourful flower beds everywhere—pink, purple, yellow—really vibrant and full of life. You can also see tall palm trees and massive green trees that give you a lot of shade. In some areas, there are big open lawns where people sit, relax, or even have a picnic. The best part is how the garden blends with the city skyline—you can actually see modern buildings peeking through the trees, which makes it feel peaceful but still very urban. When I went there, I just walked around and took photos. The weather was really nice—bright sky, cool breeze—and it felt very relaxing. There was a small lake and also some benches where I sat for a while and just enjoyed the view. I also passed by fields of yellow flowers that were really eye-catching. I loved it because it gave me a break from the busy city without needing to go far. It’s clean, spacious, and very well-designed for both tourists and locals. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Sydney.

It is a heritage-listed major 30-hectare (74-acre) botanical garden, event venue and public recreation area. Opened in 1816, the garden is the oldest scientific institution in Australia and one of the most important historic botanical institutions in the world. The Garden and The Domain are open every day of the year and access is free. Amazing variety of plants, trees, blooms and wildlife on the grounds. Very popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Mostly easy terrain, lot of easy walking. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Beautiful place. Lots to see. Parking is hard to find - use public transport. Great place for photography. Toilets available. Cafes and restaurants available

I’ve visited the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney for a few consecutive years now, and it’s always been such a lovely experience. My first visit was in 2022 when I had some time before my flight back to Singapore — it was really chill and gave me space to reflect on my trip. In 2023, I went back alone and did the walk through to the Opera House, which was both fun and relaxing. Then in 2024, I brought my family along, and we managed to snap some truly amazing photos together. Overall, it’s a great place to take a walk, enjoy the scenery, and even burn a few calories. The air feels fresh, the views are beautiful, and its location near the Opera House makes it perfect for a stroll after a meal. It can get a little crowded near the evening, but the atmosphere is still enjoyable. For tourists, I’d say this is definitely a must-visit spot in Sydney. Here are some photos from my visits over the years 🌿📸. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spending the entire day at this beautiful botanic garden was truly a delightful experience. The meticulously maintained landscapes offered a serene atmosphere, perfect for peaceful contemplation. Diverse plant collections showcased nature's artistry, providing ample opportunities for exploration and discovery. Every corner revealed new wonders, making it easy to lose track of time while wandering through the trails. I highly recommend visiting this enchanting garden.

We visited Sydney in spring time and the flowers were out across the gardens making for a lovely sight of colours together with a floral scent. The gardens and park are extensive but can be easily walked to enjoy this open space. Great views too across the harbour the bridge and the opera house.

Lovely botanical gardens very near the opera house in Sydney! They have a great variety of Australian and Global species of plants. Lots of birds too! As a geneticist, I really loved that you can peak through the windows of the plant health lab :) Highly recommend adding this to your day in Sydney if you're going to be in the area!!

Really big botanic garden, with a myriad of plants and animals to be seen here. It’s a great place for a relaxing walk or even a picnic with friends. You’ll find plenty of open green spaces, shaded areas, and nice spots to just sit and enjoy the scenery. I also spotted quite a few birds while wandering around. Highly recommend if you want to take a break from the city and spend some peaceful time in nature!

Lyne Park is beautiful and one of the world’s best views. You can even get a ferry to get there and then arrive at a great cafe a great park and a superb restaurant. Lots and lots of green space too.

A lovely park on the Sydney harbour shores when there are public tennis courts and next door a cafe that is a favourite for many locals…..play in the park and enjoy the foreshore followed by coffee at the local park cafe. Feeling hungry then the menu is fine and you will for sure find something to suit your taste! Have fun!

Excellent park with sensational quintessentially Sydney views of the harbour. HOWEVER beware if parking. The signage is misleading and on every occasion I’ve been, the ranger is waiting for unsuspecting visitors who have parked unknowingly (due to poor and unclear signage) in spots designated for boat trailers.

Public access to the water for non-motorised watercraft is available via the boat ramp beside Woollahra Sailing Club. The large playground is very popular for families with children. Catalina Restaurant is a sophisticated waterfront dining spot renowned for its upscale seafood offerings and an open veranda bar. Situated in Rose Bay, Sydney, it offers unobstructed panoramic views of the harbor, with the backdrop of a working harbor and incoming sea planes. The restaurant's menu draws inspiration from French, Italian, Spanish, and Mediterranean cuisines and is accompanied by an extensive selection of premium wines.
We had the most amazing experience at Catalina Rose Bay! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the head chef, which instantly made our anniversary feel so special. The food was absolutely incredible, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive, and every detail made us feel cared for. From start to finish, the whole evening felt personal and memorable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for not just a meal, but an experience. Can’t wait to go back.
Claudia T — Google review
We have been to Catalina on five occasions over the past three years and it is our favorite restaurant in Sydney. Very easy to take the ferry from Circle Quay. The pictures are a mishmash from different meals, hence labeled tasting menu portion or main portion size. When ordered as a main, the portions are nearly twice the size. I recommend that the table does the tasting menu; the menu is so diverse and it really is the best way to try a “little of everything”. The oysters with lime ceviche were bright and fresh. The chef really does blend tastes and textures well; buttery potatoes with a bright onion jam on the Beef Tenderloin for example. The Prawn Toast with sesame has the creamy shrimp that tastes like a little fritter, somehow rolled in sesame to give a great crunch, and topped with buttery, slightly briny caviar. My favorite of the entrees. A prior visit had the caviar atop a churro and the prawn toast is much preferred. The eel cream is amazing, I thought the shrimp slightly overcooked but I believe they may be poached and then held cold, but the eel makes up for it. My husband raved about his duck and ordered it the next visit as well. It is dry-aged and prepared perfectly. Very well done. Yes, the food is not particularly fast to come from the kitchen. BUT it is good food and it is ok to slow down and enjoy a meal. I appreciate that I don’t feel like the staff is trying to rush people to turn the tables quickly. The venue can be very noisy as people get boisterous when they are happy. I have to laugh at the two reviews stating that they got food poisoning. If you ever get food poisoning, call the health department and they will track back your prior 24-36 hours. It’s way more likely you got it from an ice machine at your casual lunch or your coffee bar breakfast touching the communal creamer containers than from a fine dining restaurant. The wine menu is also exceptional. They have sommeliers that are very friendly/approachable and are happy to “talk wine” without yammering on while your food gets cold. Good recommendations and a variety of price points. The bar also makes quality cocktails. Will definitely when we are back next year.

The ocean view was breathtaking, and the Catalina team created the most perfect birthday evening. From the very first moment, the bartender’s energy felt so special (in the best way!)—starting the night with a cocktail was truly the right choice. Every dish was a delight, with each ingredient shining through in flavor and care. The wine list was wonderful, and every member of the team was warm, kind, and attentive. It was a night to remember, and I can’t wait to return. Thank you for such a beautiful experience!

We visited Catalina a few weeks ago for a birthday celebration, and it was such a good choice! The team were so friendly and attentive, which really made the experience special. A big shoutout to the lovely lady who served our table, I wish I remembered her name because she truly deserves the credit. The place is cosy and right on the water. The food was delicious overall (though the pasta could have been better), but the dessert was absolutely divine!

Most things we ordered were delicious. Highly recommend adding on the prawn toast with caviar - heavenly bite! Only dish i didnt particularly was the dry aged duck, though it may just be personal preference. Dessert was fantastic. Highly recommend for a special occasion

My wife & I have been together for 8 years, and this was the 2nd best dinner we’ve ever had! Absolutely the best dinner we’ve had in Australia. We eat out at a lot of interesting restaurants around the world so I promise that’s quite high praise. We wanted to treat ourselves to a fancy dinner, and boy did Catalina deliver. We had the 7 course meal, 6 of those courses were seafood (I believe). My wife doesn’t even like seafood and she was melted with every bite. Her favourite was the tooth fish. Best fish she’s ever had. For me the tooth fish was outstanding, everything was. But the most interest was the POACHED MOOLOOLABA KING PRAWNS. I’ve never had anything like it, and it was simply perfect. Staff were amazing, location was romantic. Catalina did everything to make the night perfect. And it was!

Quay Restaurant, located in the heart of The Rocks with stunning views of Sydney Harbour, offers innovative tasting menus that have reinvigorated the dining experience in Australia. Executive chef Peter Gilmore's culinary creations are a testament to his adoration for nature and attention to detail. The six-course set menu showcases his expertise in crafting dishes that highlight marine life, umami depth, and elusive ingredients.
I celebrated my graduation dinner here with my family in May, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had. Over the years, I’ve visited various fine dining restaurants for special occasions, and I have to say—Quay truly got everything right. From the impeccable service and outstanding food quality to the gorgeous night view, every detail was thoughtfully executed. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the layers of flavour were simply remarkable. My entire family thoroughly enjoyed this unforgettable experience. Thank you.

Best experience! It was amazing to experience such a unique taste! Each dish was worth 5 star!⭐️ Compliment to the Chef, chefs did such an amazing job! The flowers added so much flavour and texture~✨ Service was very good too! Front staff know their job very well… When it comes to price, no complains the experience, location, food, service! Its worth to paying couple of $$$! ✨

It was a journey of umami, complex flavors mostly not overly salted, some japanese touches with a good balance of flavors and textures. There was attention to color with an interesting minimalist theme in plating the dishes. Pictured duck dish and the little appetizer bites were stand outs. Service was attentive and friendly. Venue was nice, but entry was hard to find (take the lift beside James Squire) and unfortunately there was a giant cruise ship obscuring what would’ve been an outstanding view.
Cheryl L — Google review
Many people mentioned that the experience isn’t as impressive as it used to be and said it’s not really worth recommending. But I still wanted to try it for myself, so I decided to visit. Unfortunately, there was a cruise ship docked at the time, so we couldn’t enjoy the Opera House view. However, the staff kindly seated us on the Harbour Bridge side, which still offered a beautiful view during our meal. As for the food, it turned out to be a much more satisfying dinner than I expected. Every dish was enjoyable, although the pork jowl was a bit tough and didn’t quite meet the mark. That aside, the rest of the courses were well-balanced, and I really appreciated how beautifully everything was plated. I’d definitely like to come back next season to see how the menu evolves.
YongSu K — Google review
Excellent food with high-quality ingredients, attentive service, and stunning views. The only downsides were the dining room being uncomfortably cold despite requests to adjust the AC, and the menu ending with several sweet courses, which felt slightly unbalanced. Overall, a memorable and impressive experience! 🤍

The experience is perfected to every single detail. Food is not only pretty to look at but also tasty to eat. Everyone enjoyed the experience! Quay has been quite consistent in delivering a great experience so I have the confidence every time knowing my guests will be guaranteed to indulge.

Dining at Quay was a sublime experience. Nestled in Sydney’s harbor with panoramic views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, the setting alone is unforgettable. The service was impeccable—attentive, warm, and effortlessly refined. Each dish on the tasting menu was a masterpiece of creativity and precision, showcasing ingredients in ways both surprising and deeply satisfying. Quay doesn’t just serve food—it delivers an artful journey that lingers long after the final bite.
Rafael S — Google review
An Interesting dining experience at Quay Sydney. Each course was a masterclass in creativity, balance, and finesse. The evening began with delicately plated raw scallops topped with smoked eel cream and Murray cod roe — a perfect harmony of freshness and umami. The wild greenlip abalone and sea cucumber with aged seaweed broth showcased the kitchen’s precision and respect for the ocean. The mud crab dumpling in brown butter emulsion was rich yet refined, while the smoked confit pig jowl with young macadamia and sherry vinegar prunes delivered bold, deep flavors with silky textures. The highlight for me was the David Blackmore Wagyu — intensely savory, paired with shiitake and dried oyster, elevated by a whisper of licorice kombu. Desserts were equally show-stopping. “White Coral” and the playful “Post Brood Honey Bee” were not only beautifully presented but also ended the meal with a delightful sense of whimsy.

Saint Peter at The Grand National Hotel

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Saint Peter at The Grand National Hotel is a seafood restaurant that has made a significant impact on the Australian seafood scene. It is the embodiment of Josh Niland's vision to celebrate and push the boundaries of Australian catches in a contemporary, elegant counter setting with views of the chefs at work.
Lunch at Saint Peter was nothing short of extraordinary. This acclaimed 3-hatted restaurant sets a new benchmark for seafood in Sydney. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism that made us feel genuinely welcome. The open kitchen brought a dynamic, lively atmosphere—it was captivating to watch the chefs bring each dish to life. We began with their signature Fish Charcuterie, a brilliant and unexpected twist that showcased the ocean’s bounty in the most imaginative way. Who would’ve thought seafood cold cuts could be this impressive? Every dish that followed was thoughtfully crafted, full of bold yet refined flavors, and presented with precision. It was clear we weren’t just having lunch—we were part of a carefully curated dining experience. Without a doubt, this was the best meal I’ve had in Sydney. An afternoon to remember, and one I’d gladly return for.

Truly a wonderful to enjoy every bit of how one's fish is fully optimized to your every dishes. Was amazed from the very beginning, the bone, dry aged, and then I lost translation but it was an amazing soup / palette starter..we were at the main dining room, felt little warm, due to close proximity to the action, and Josh was there not leaving any detail untouched. Wonderful experience and try not to start with this restaurant if youre going to explore others later..it kinda spoilt your tastebud on what others has to offer in terms of fish 😉

This meal was at the bar, we didn’t book and just walked in late on a weeknight. Service was lovely and gave us choice of where to sit. Great atmosphere for a weeknight, warm quiet and intimate at the booth. Bar menu perfect for when our appetites are light and snacks and drinks were enough. Fresh, delicate, ingenious, nuanced. Would recommend the fish of the day + olives (it was mackerel for us) together with complimentary A P Bread and cultured butter. And you wouldn’t know the burger was tuna - it was akin to beef! We ate fish eyes, fish scales, oyster shells and it was all delicious. A good teaser for what the fuller restaurant menu may be like and I’d love to return for it.

We’ve been wanting to get to St Peter for quite some time and it did not disappoint. As 3 coeliac diners we were incredibly well looked after. The courses were truly innovative and the flavours were next level yet perfectly balanced. The team had the full details of the sustainably sourced seafood and produce. Highly recommended dining experience. 5 stars across the board.

We stayed for 1 night there. We took an Uber there but had lost our phone before checking in. We were so lucky to have been greeted by DANUTE, who basically saved not just our hotel experience from going wrong, but our whole holiday. We had left our phone with the uber driver accidentally upon arrival, only to realise the driver already left before we knew it. DANUTE was marvellous and in our view went above and beyond to ensure we were absolutely going to get our phone back, plus she made the rest of our stay amazing. DANUTE’S empathy, patience, understanding and initiative in bending over backwards to help and accommodate us blew us away. DANUTE is THE DEFINITION OF CUSTOMER SERVICE at its finest. Saint Peter is so lucky to have you, you made us feel this is the type of service and luxury accommodation that Saint Peter is all about. TO THE OWNER JOSH, DANUTE deserves a promotion for how she gracefully handled everything for us, humble and welcoming. DANUTE never lost her patience, instead always making sure after we retrieved our phone, that we were OK. A true asset to Saint Peter hotel, DANUTE you’re one of the kind in customer service, we hardly ever experience these days. If you book for this hotel, and are fortunate enough to be greeted by DANUTE, we promise you, you will keep returning - it’s like a very good chef at a restaurant, except you’re returning because of the service and luxury Saint Peter consistently promises. The food - excellent, highly recommended! Thank you so much Saint Peter, we’ll be back for sure!

Went with a party where some had been here and others, myself included, had not. I had no idea what to expect, and right from the first course, a consume, I was left with my mind blown. The entire meal serves as a testament to the power of fish, with each course progressively introducing you to a different part of the fish, culminating in the main courses finally serving you the regular cut of fish in all its glory. What stands this above other fine dining restaurants is it not only redefines conventional dishes, but it does so by redefining how fish can be used. The sustainability of the project is a nice added touch. I’d highly recommend, with my personal stand out dishes being salt and vinegar dipping bread and the main with Murray cod.
Alyssia B — Google review
I came from Melbourne and was very lucky to get a table for tonight. The portions were very generous, and every detail — from the appetizers to the desserts — was executed to perfection. The staff were also highly professional. I’m truly grateful for the wonderful food and service tonight — absolutely delighted!
Hannah L — Google review
This is a harsh score, as my wife and I had a really lovely evening. The staff were all very warm and welcoming and we felt well looked after. The cocktails are wine were also lovely. The food just isn’t it though. It was a nice enough meal but nothing that really stands out, nothing that you’d remember afterwards. The chef is more focussed on demonstrating how it’s possible to use every part of the fish, rather than making it taste delicious. It feels somewhat like you’ve been dragged into his social enterprise to fish sustainably, and he’s forgotten that it’s also meant to taste amazing. This restaurant is in a similar price bracket to Oncore and is unfortunately not in the same league in terms of food. By the end of it I was desperate to have a course with more vegetables and carbs, and needed a break from fish parts, only to be presented with a plate of sweets that he’d also added fish to, not sure why.

It’s a fantastic spot for brunch, especially on a sunny day. Located right on Balmoral Beach, the views make a stunning backdrop. There’s also a thoughtful kids’ menu, making it a great choice for families. Always a favourite of mine.

Average food and below average service, unfortunately, I've had an unpleasant lunch at the bistro. We arrived at 11.40am for a 11.45am booking, been unattended at the entrance, while I made numerous attempts of eye contact with the busy waiters/waitresses walking past us, no one addressed us until I've got very confused and paranoid, not sure if this is purely rude or racist? I took my mum out for a lunch to enjoy the lovely weather, I've choosed Bathers instead of Gunners to be closer to the water on such a nice sunny day, absolutely ruined and started our meal unpleasant, will definitely not coming back again.

The reviews were mildly positive about Bathers Pavilion for dinner, so we had somewhat low expectations. However, I'm happy to report we were more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and the food. The ambience was very pleasant, and the food was genuinely delicious (if a little on the pricier side), and there were perfect wines to accompany it. The service was not only attentive, but the manager genuinely made our evening by bringing out a specially tailored dessert (even though we'd made no mention anywhere in our booking that it was our anniversary)! We'll definitely be back and highly recommend.

Malaysian restaurant
Ho Jiak Town Hall is a Malaysian restaurant in Sydney that offers a modern twist on traditional street food. The chef, Junda Khoo, elevates classic dishes like Hainanese chicken rice and char kway teow while also introducing innovative creations such as beef bones with rendang curry. The menu has been recently streamlined to focus on delivering an exceptional Malaysian dining experience. The attentive staff adds to the overall enjoyable atmosphere of the restaurant, making it a great place for group gatherings.
We visited this restaurant for dinner and had an excellent experience. We reserved a table in advance through the website, and even though we arrived 15 minutes early, the staff warmly welcomed us and guided us straight to our table. The atmosphere had a cool, dark vibe that felt very inviting. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well looked after throughout the evening. Our favorite dish was the duck meat—it was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. All the food arrived quickly, and everything we tried was full of flavor. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great dining experience!

Visited Ho Jiak over the long weekend during my trip to Sydney, and can I just say — it’s probably the most beautifully curated Malaysian menu I’ve seen! I ordered the laksa from the lunch menu while my friend had the nasi kerabu and a mocktail — everything was absolutely delicious. I personally would’ve preferred the noodles a little firmer, but the flavours were spot on. The service was top-notch too — the waitress was patient and took the time to explain the dishes when I asked for extras. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and overall the quality really matches the price. Would definitely love to come back to try their dinner menu next time!

Reserved via Sevenrooms, our family of 13 had a wonderful family dinner at Ho Jiak on a Sunday evening. Located across from QVB, we used the parking spot at 45 Market which is just a short walk. The restaurant itself has a cool vibe with brick walls and different areas of seating. We ordered a few cocktails, my Margarita was quite average probably should have gone with the Negroni. The staff is very attentive, but could have done a better job providing guidance with our dish selections considering our group size. The menu is extensive with a wide range of dish, the trick is picking their local cuisine. 1. Laksa Bomb - the shrimp dumpling is good, the broth lacks depth 2. Salted duck egg lobster - this is our favorite dish, well executed with noodles 3. Malaysian Chili Crab - the crab is not as 'meaty', the sauce leaves a lot to be desired. Perhaps use female crab and the crab butter and coral to prepare the stock? 4. Smokey Beef Rib - nice presentation, the meat is tender yet lacks the smokiness once the smoke clears (literally). Perhaps smoke it low and slow instead of pressure cooked? 5. Roast Pork Belly - lacks the crispy skin, it's a bit dry. Perhaps use garlic aioli and smoked / black salt flakes instead of tartar sauce? The sambal lacks acidity 6. Chinese Broccoli - nice presentation. The dried chopped leaves combined with the steamed stems give good texture. The oyster sauce is a bit bland. 7. Salt & Pepper Tofu - should skip this dish, nothing special 8. Belachan Kangkung - on point 9. Eggciting - our second favorite dish 10. Char Koay Teow - it's a miss, no wok-fired taste expected from this dish 11. Sarawak Black Pepper Lobster - it's quite good

We booked online for dinner here and were not disappointed. Service by Jessalyn (sorry if I spelt this wrong!) was excellent the entire night, really helpful with recommendations and when she found out we were celebrating an anniversary gave us complimentary sparkling wine. We ordered the chilli crab man tou, laksa dumplings, duck with foie gras (paired really well together) as well as char kuay teow. The food overall definitely tastes authentic and the flavour of the laksa really reminded me of home. Duck was incredibly tender and the meat basically melted in my mouth. The garlic chilli that came with it is amazing! Honestly everything we had that night was really good down to the drinks. Ho Jiak Haymarket was always one of my favourite restaurants and this one didn’t disappoint either.

This Malaysian cuisine is highly over my expectations! The cocktail is really nice, I like the Lychee one. Salt egg yolk crab is absolutely delicious with spicy noodle, it becomes my favourite! I will recommend my colleague this place~
SHIJING W — Google review
Great upmarket Malaysian food with friendly service. The Assam barramundi was excellent with perfectly cooked fish and a very well balanced sauce. Our favourite dish The fried radish cubes were also very good. The laksa bomb, an interesting modern interpretation, was also delicious I also loved the pandan creme brûlée

Had an amazing dinner at Ho Jiak and it exceeded all expectations! Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The roast duck was juicy with perfectly crispy skin, the salted egg crab with noodles was rich and addictive, and the fried rice was cooked to perfection—fragrant, fluffy, and packed with prawns and roe. The fresh salmon sashimi with dressing was light and refreshing, and the crispy greens added a lovely balance to the meal. The cocktail was also delicious and complemented the food so well. Portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared. On top of that, the staff were attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend Ho Jiak to anyone looking for amazing Malaysian fusion food in Sydney. Definitely coming back!

Porcine

Mentioned on
1 list
French restaurant
Porcine is a charming restaurant in Paddington that offers a delightful blend of French cuisine and an extensive selection of wines. While it may not be solely a wine bar, its affiliation with P&V Merchants allows guests to enjoy small batch brews and fine wines alongside their meals. The menu showcases an array of delectable pork dishes, such as the double smoked pork jowl and Berkshire pork chops, complemented by elegant presentations.
This French restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food is expertly prepared, with rich flavors and a great selection of classic dishes. The service is attentive, making sure every guest feels welcome and well taken care of. The wine list complements the menu beautifully, enhancing the overall experience. Whether you’re enjoying a hearty main course or a delicate dessert, each dish is crafted with care. A fantastic spot for a special night out or a relaxed meal with great flavors and a touch of elegance.

Lunch on Sunday was a lovely afternoon. Service was casual but efficient. We thought the waiter could have a bit more wine knowledge as we struggled a bit making a good decision. The food presentation is stylish & flavourful. The pork creton pate w lentils was served w no bread or crackers as the waiter said we needed to order bread with this dish. So for another extra $8.00 we got bread as it could not be eaten on its own. We felt uncomfortable about this as why serve an incomplete dish then charge extra? We did ask the waiter to let the kitchen know. Our winter salad was delicious but the seafood tartar was the standout dish. For fine dining prices we both felt Porcine was good but needs a bit more finesse. We realise it’s a casual French Bistro but not for price point but has good food & lots of smiles.

Porcine has long held a place among the finest French restaurants in Sydney. Every visit captivates me—its food, wine, and service are consistently exceptional. The pâté, in particular, always leaves a lasting impression. There’s something about its rich texture and depth of flavour that simply lingers. Whether it’s the warmth of the service, the thoughtful wine pairings, or the intimacy of the space, each experience at Porcine feels both familiar and wonderfully indulgent
Rathasart C — Google review
The food was delicious, there is very authentic pâté en croûte, they accept BYO and charge corkage. One of waitstaff is new who is not familiar with menus. When I tossed the question about food she looked so confused, however sommelier or manager who is experienced and knowledgeable. This is a gem precinct in Paddington Area which is great for friends or family gatherings.

One of the authentic French restaurants you can find in central Sydney. We were impressed with their assorted grilled veggies, which is both smoky and crunchy.

Incredible French bistro experience in Sydney – perfect for groups and BYO! We visited Porcine as a small group and had such an amazing time. From start to finish, everything was handled beautifully—the staff were welcoming, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, especially when it came to helping us pair our BYO wines with their dishes. The service felt warm and personal, without ever being too formal. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every single dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. It’s the kind of place where you can tell the chefs genuinely care about what they’re doing. I loved the balance between rustic French charm and elevated, modern techniques. It’s rare to find that combination done so well. The space itself is also lovely—charming, cosy, and stylish without being pretentious. We were seated comfortably despite being a larger group, and it never felt too noisy or cramped. The fact that the restaurant sits above a wine shop (P&V Wine Merchants) just makes the BYO experience even more seamless. This place is ideal for anyone who loves thoughtful French food, enjoys pairing wine with their meal, and wants to spend time in a relaxed, intimate setting. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend!

The overall atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff were very friendly. The ham puff and mussels are a must-try, absolutely delicious and the plating was beautiful. The fish and pigeon dishes were more ordinary, lacking distinctive flavor. The new sakura mille-feuille was huge, with layers that were especially crisp.
XINMAN L — Google review
Porcine is what a great French restaurant is all about. Other places in Sydney do their best to mimic a classic bistro but there is more to it than just chucking on more butter, foie and truffle (not that any of that is bad). But my favourite experiences in Paris are restaurants where they have a real love of the ingredients and the craft, and adjust their dish to what's available, and give love to every ingredient on the plate, dress everything lovingly with the right sauce or condiment. Porcine has that same something special that shows passion, that attention to flavour and detail, that respect for the past while being able to keep it contemporary. Perhaps, with the sightings of a duck press, it's mad obsession. My favourite - ris de veau here is fantastic, a real treat. Others would say the garlic Mussels on toast is best, an homage to moules marinière that performs a happy dance on your taste buds. Don't skip the gougeres, or pate en crout. And the classic il flottante is great for dessert. Really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Even the salads are an attentive assemblage, smartly dressed and impeccably presented. Wine, good selection, you'll be well looked after. Staff friendly, helpful. If there's one French restaurant I'll recommend in Sydney right now it's this.

Nestled by the serene waters of Rose Bay, Jewel on the Bay is a delightful eatery that has been a beloved fixture in the Eastern Suburbs for over two decades. This vibrant spot offers an extensive menu featuring both café staples and traditional Indian dishes, available nightly and on weekends. Diners can enjoy their meals outdoors while taking in views of bobbing yachts against a picturesque backdrop.
Always so busy for a reason. Great staff that are always smiling and amazing food. Lovely rich Indian curries and freshly made nan bread to order. Cannot fault this place.

With the beautiful front view, this restaurant is good place to go if you are around Watson or Double bay. Staff was ok however they could be more organised, prices are good comparing to the location and food was delicious. Parking could be a challenge as it's a busy area.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Jewel on the Bay. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting interior with beautiful water views. The service provided by all staff members was exceptional, and we felt very welcomed throughout our dinner. Even our baby thoroughly enjoyed her time there. We selected the set menu, and every dish was outstanding in both presentation and flavour. We highly recommend Jewel on the Bay!

The ambiance and service were beyond good only bettered by the food itself. Every bite was a taste delight. The only problem was choosing from the expansive menu. I can’t wait to come back.

The food is consistently outstanding, rich in flavour, beautifully presented and full of heart. And the Kingfishers on tap? An unbeatable touch, especially with that stunning bay view. Pizza restaurant
If you're on the hunt for authentic Italian cuisine, look no further than Mangia e Bevi in Rose Bay. This charming eatery offers a delightful selection of woodfired pizzas with thin, handmade bases and generous toppings that will transport your taste buds straight to Italy. Their pasta dishes are equally enticing, making it a perfect spot for family dinners or gatherings with friends. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, complemented by attentive staff who make you feel right at home.
Magnia e Bevi in Rose Bay is a fantastic Italian spot run by brothers John and Peter, who bring over 30 years of experience. The wood-fired pizza was excellent – light, flavourful dough with fresh toppings – and the pasta was full of rich flavour with great texture. Service was friendly and attentive, and the ambience was warm and welcoming. Great value for the quality – highly recommended, and we’ll be back!

Great dinner at Mangia e Bevi. We were a group of 8 adults for dinner, the table was prepared quickly and service was good. We had a mix of pizza, pasta and salads to share and everything was very good. The best plate was the gnocchi with napoletana sauce. Only item that was a let down was the garlic bread.

We’ve been going to Mangia Bevi on New South Head Rd, Rose Bay for years — at least three times a week! They’ve been part of the community for over 10 years, and it’s easy to see why. The food is always fresh, delicious, and perfect for those nights when you don’t have time to cook. It’s run by a beautiful Lebanese family, and Natalie, the manager, always greets us with a big smile and goes above and beyond to impress. Their pizzas are the best, their pasta is amazing, and you absolutely have to try their incredible Dubai pizza for dessert — it’s unforgettable! Highly recommend this gem to anyone who loves great food and friendly service. 💗

First time ordering takeaway pizzas from Mangia e Bevi - and they were wonderful. Not overly thick crust or doughy, and generous tasty toppings. Loved them and we'll be back.

Pleasant dining experience with Great food. On my recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying two standout dishes: the prawn pizza and the homemade gnocchi. The woodfire prawn pizza's crust is thin and crispy, & the prawns are generously sized. Best Italian food in the Rose Bay - thanks guys for a nice night

Hands down the best pizza I’ve had in Sydney! The woodfired pizzas at Mangia e Bv are simply outstanding, thin, hand-made bases cooked to perfection, topped with the freshest, most flavourful ingredients. Recently back from Milano, Italy, I can honestly say the taste here is just as authentic and original as what you find there. By far the best in the Eastern Suburbs without question. My family, especially my mum and the kids, absolutely love it. Every time we dine in, I can’t resist taking two pizzas home as well. The pasta is equally delicious, full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The service is warm and welcoming, with the waiters’ friendly smiles making the whole experience even better. Mangia e Bv has become our go-to place for a true Italian feast.
Mark T — Google review
Terrible food. Extraordinarily overpriced. $48 for a bowl of tomato soup with a few mussels inside. Sauce was clearly not homemade and one of the waitresses looked like she did not want to be there. One of the least authentic Italian places I have ever been to. Very disappointing
S F — Google review
Awful. Smug family running the show only pretending to be Italian when im told theyre actually Lebanese. Greasy food that has so much butter you only like it while you eat it then feel sick after. Lousy service. The tubby manager is particularly rude and obnoxious, lurking with his friends by the entrance so it’s intimidating to even walk in or walk past (and made rude comments at me once for just passing his restaurants outside tables- I hope council takes them away and closes them down). I will never go there ever again and neither will my family- such a shame as my family have lived in Rose Bay for generations and the previous Italian restaurant there (grandfather’s Moustache) was my dearly departed grandmother’s favourite- she would be horrified at them.

Empire Lounge is a seafood restaurant that offers breathtaking views of planes taking off and landing at the Empire Lounge. The menu features some of the best seafood in Australia, like oysters sourced from New South Wales coastline, fresh sashimi, kingfish Crudo, tiger prawns and barramundi curry. If you're feeling daring try a whole lobster on the menu!
What an incredible experience at the Sydney Seaplanes Lounge! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a truly spectacular harbour view that is simply unparalleled. Beyond the views, the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome and well-cared for. We loved their pasta – it was cooked to perfection with delicious, fresh ingredients. And their house bread? Divine! Warm, crusty, and the perfect accompaniment to the meal. Fantastic dining experience with an unbeatable view, I highly recommend the Sydney Seaplanes Lounge. A definite must-visit!

Empire Lounge created the most memorable setting for our schools pre-formal celebration. For parents and dressed-up teenagers this location at sunset created the perfect waterfront atmosphere… including delicious canapés and drinks. Thanks to Kathryn and Antoine’s seamless organisation, everything felt effortless. Their team even helped us coordinate a 30+ seat water taxi straight from wharf, so all the kids could travel together to their event without any stress of Friday traffic. Empire Lounge with its dreamy waterfront location, attentive staff and delicious canapés, was an unforgettable experience. Thank you again Antoine and Kathryn.

Amazing breakfast location and worth checking out. The food was served quickly, really nicely presented dishes and sit outside to get some amazing views of the harbour. Well worth a walk and away from the hustle and bustle of New South Head.

The views and the atmosphere were lovely but the food was just OK. Non of our party of 7 was wowed by their meal. The food was average at best and significantly more pricey than the taste. I would not choose to eat there again.

The food was exceptional. We started with the freshest oysters, served with an amazing vinaigrette that brought just the right balance of acidity and freshness. The taramasalata was beautifully smooth and rich, and the lamb was a true standout — smokey, tender, and layered with complex flavours that made every bite better than the last. The chef even came over to check if we were enjoying everything. She was warm, down-to-earth, and clearly passionate about her craft, which added such a lovely personal touch. The serving team was also incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional — we felt genuinely well looked after from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-quality food, service, and atmosphere in a breathtaking location.

We dined at D.B. on NYE, but only because there is a dearth of eateries in this area and with all the road closures, we had little option but to stay local. We have eaten here a number of times before, but always with a voucher or Groupon deal.Unfortunately, because it was NYE - and I’m assuming the busiest night of the year - they don’t do vouchers or deals of any kind, not even Ent Book vouchers are accepted. No byo either. Four of us dined and we shared a selection of dishes including the mixed vegetarian entrees, lamb, chicken, beef, rice, naan bread, all the usual stuff plus a couple of beers, a cold drink and a glass of red wine. No dessert. Ended up costing us $154 (without a tip), say with tip, just over $40 a head. Food was ordinary at best, apart from the lamb chops, which were succulent and tender. Serving sizes seemed smaller than before. Atmosphere was a bit more lively than usual, as the place was probably about three quarters full at its peak at about 8pm. Usually they struggle to half fill the place even on a Sat night. We sat near the open doors, but it was still stifling and unpleasantly hot. About the best thing that could be said about the whole experience was the service, which was quick, efficient and polite. Clearly, management had decided to put on extra staff for the night. Orders were smartly taken, drinks came out without delay, followed by entrees and mains with very little waiting between courses. But what really annoys about this place - and will probably guarantee that we won’t be back in a hurry - is the poor state of the toilets. I would have thought that, being the busiest night of the year, that they would at least have made an effort to keep them clean and properly provisioned, but no such luck. In the gents, there were no hand towels or paper towels or even an air dryer: Nothing to dry your hands with. We were here last October with a friend from overseas, and she was so disgusted by the toilets that she complained to the manager about it, before leaving. I would have assumed that they would have taken that criticism on board, but they haven’t, so obviously, cleanliness of the toilets is not a priority. Even the door that leads from the restaurant to the area at the back, where the toilets are, is black and grubby. Overall, this is a tired, mediocre and poorly patronised place that’s well overdue for a makeover with new management.

Fantastic. Tasty, high quality and authentic Indian food, with generous servings and very affordable. The service can be a little bit slow, but extremely friendly and genuine.

Food was good but the service was terrible. The staff only pays any attention to the cluster of deliverers in the middle of the restaurant.

We had an awesome experience here tonight, the owner and staff were very welcoming and helpful. Most importantly the food was spectacular - I don’t normally enjoy the butter chicken at Indian restaurants but this one was great! Not to mention the lamb chops and the Saag chicken which were our favourites! Will definitely be back for more!
Radhika R — Google review
Far better than your average Indian restaurant in Sydney even though the night started a bit poorly when they couldn't find the booking which had been made online weeks earlier, and a reminder sent to me the night before. I was almost blamed for them not finding the booking though obviously it was not of my doing. The food was tasty though I thought the servings were a bit on the small side. The real let-down was the service. They had a charming young Indian girl who was doing almost all the order taking, serving and table clearing throughout the night. This girl worked like a trooper but the task was more than any one waitress could handle on a busy Saturday night and I recommend they hire another waitress or have the manager do something, which he barely did all night. I'll go back when I don't have to witness such an over worked waitress.

Very rude staff. Doesn’t respect customer at all. Reply to business owner’s response: First of all, Australia is not new to us, we are familiar with local restaurants here and we’ve been to so many places with awesome food and services because we live here and this is home for us. Secondly, I totally understand if restaurant are closing which kitchen stops with last orders. Most of the restaurant do that. You don’t need to mention it. Nothing new. We were not complaining about you are closing or about to close or closed. We are simply saying your staff are rude and didn’t attend us as a normal restaurant will do. We understand your kitchen might be close at that hour, so purposely asked before we enter. “Is your kitchen still open?” “Yes, please come in” - your staff attended us and brought us menu. 5 mins later, we were informed kitchen are closed, and someone which I think was manager was loudly asking us to leave. It sounded in a way that we are 100% not welcomed there and need to leave soon as some of the main lights were turning off while we were informed. There’s nothing you can do to change our experience. I don’t feel that business owners here respect customers and our existence at a later hour is kind of a burden to your restaurant. We came to your place because we respected different cultures and love Indian cuisine, not because you are the only one! Probably next time you should train your staff to simply tell the customer our kitchen is closed instead of letting customers hopes up and then turn it down. Disappointing.
Moyan Z — Google review
Rude management, staff with bad attitude. 31 July 2019 Reply to Dal Bukhara's response: It's strange that Google didn't notify me that you responded my review, or I missed it. I just saw it randomly when I was searching for Indian restaurant and your place showed up again. Well, your reply is not true at all. I still think your management and staff are very rude with bad attitude, because once I walked in to your restaurant, your staff guide us to table, and waitress brought us menu, we were looking at menu, after 5 minutes someone from behind (seems like manager) start talking loud: restaurant is closed, scolding staff, why did she let customer in. Manager came to my table and took the plates off, and look at us like we forced him to let us in. I don't know what's your experience as restaurant owner, and how often you yourself go to other restaurants, but in general customers do not walk in, they wait at entrance to get directed to the dinning table by restaurant staff, and this is exactly what has happened. In addition, this is very interesting: "Welcome to Australia", it seems you are trying to show us how much you know about here, and how much I am new to it. Well, I don't know your background, but I can guess that you are not Australian in heritage, it seems you are so happy and proud to be here earlier than others, and you are trying to show off that you know here more than others, Good for you :D Your response doesn't change anything, I still believe you have poor management skills, you have no idea how to train your staff to behave, because in fact you don't know how to behave as manager. I will escalate my review in other social media platforms. Hopefully your attitude and management style change in future. Bad!

Sydney Airport

Airport
Sydney Airport is conveniently located just 20 minutes from the city center, with easy access via a suburban railway line. It serves as a major international hub, offering connections to local, continental, and international flights. The airport provides efficient train services from Terminal 1 to the city, making it convenient for travelers. However, some visitors have experienced challenges on the arrival side due to lack of signage and long lines at passport scan kiosks.
A really nice experience at the Sydney airport. There are many shops to see and many eateries, such as a sushi shop and a Lanzhou restaurant. I did a lot of plane spotting here at the airport. Security was quick and easy. As was check in. The boarding experience was also really great. There were also a lot of shops such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Overall a great experience at Sydney airport.

Sydney Airport is efficient, modern, and well-organized. The terminals are clean, with plenty of dining and shopping options, and staff are generally friendly and helpful. Security and customs can get busy during peak hours, but overall, the airport runs smoothly. Great transport connections to the city via train and taxis make travel convenient. A solid international hub for Australia.

We got to Sydney Domestic Airport by train since we stayed at Darling Harbour, it was very convenient to take light rail to Central first, then switched train here. I will take domestic flights to Brisbane first before taking Eva Air back to Taiwan. I checked in around 12:00, and there were a lot of shops and restaurants. Many travelers are in this airport, fortunately, we still can find a place to have our burgers

The international Sydney airport terminal is quite well appointed. They even have a Papa Rich restaurant which was a pleasant surprise. The shopping precinct and food court areas have a nice ambience, with soft lighting. The gate areas however has a very unpleasant industrial feel. I can’t imagine it would take much to improve.., softer lighting and some plants would make it much more welcoming
