The Sydney Opera House is an iconic arts center located on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, offering breathtaking views of the harbor, bridge, and city skyline. With over 1,600 performances annually, it hosts a diverse range of events including opera, theatre, music, dance, and comedy shows. This architectural marvel is a must-see attraction that draws millions of visitors each year. Its unique design and cultural significance make it a standout feature of the picturesque Sydney Harbour.
The Sydney Opera House is truly one of the world’s most iconic landmarks and an unforgettable place to visit. From the moment you arrive at Circular Quay and catch sight of its unique sail-shaped design, you feel a sense of awe and admiration. The architecture is absolutely stunning, blending modern creativity with timeless elegance. It is not only a symbol of Sydney but also a masterpiece that represents Australia to the world. Visiting the Opera House offers much more than just admiring its exterior. Inside, the atmosphere is equally impressive, with beautifully designed concert halls and theatres that provide excellent acoustics and world-class performances. Whether it is a symphony, ballet, opera, or theatre production, every show staged here feels special because of the venue’s ambience. The quality of performances is always outstanding, leaving the audience inspired and entertained. The location of the Opera House makes the experience even more memorable. Surrounded by the sparkling waters of Sydney Harbour, it offers breathtaking views, especially at sunset when the building glows against the skyline. Walking around the Opera House, you can also enjoy the Royal Botanic Gardens nearby or take in the lively atmosphere of Circular Quay. What makes the Sydney Opera House even more appealing is that it welcomes everyone. You don’t have to attend a performance to appreciate it—you can simply tour the building, enjoy its cafes, or relax by the harbour. It is a must-visit attraction that perfectly combines art, culture, and natural beauty.

Booked the tour and dining experience for $81 weeks in advance. Tour started and ended on time with a group of around 20. Headsets were provided so that everyone can hear the live tour guide. They will ask you to check in any medium or large sizes bags or backpacks, but it's easy and free. Tour involved some easy, short walks and steps, but anyone can manage. Very informative and worth doing. The dining add on gives you 3 restaurant options to choose from, all very close by. There's a special, limited menu just for this deal. I chose Midden which had no wait for lunch time and went with the barramundi dish and pinot grigio. The fish was excellent, perfectly cooked and thoughtfully flavored. Asked for no added salt and they were able to accommodate. Wine was good as well and recommended by the server. Overall, a great tour and dining experience that's reasonably priced

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Iconic Masterpiece! The Sydney Opera House is truly one of the most breathtaking landmarks I’ve ever visited. The architecture is stunning from every angle — whether you’re viewing it from the harbour, the bridge, or up close, it never loses its magic. The area around Circular Quay is lively, with great cafes and restaurants, and the atmosphere feels uniquely Sydney. I attended a performance here and the acoustics were incredible, making the whole experience unforgettable. Even just walking around the forecourt at sunset is worth the visit. Perfect spot for photos, relaxing, and soaking in the city’s energy. Highly recommend visiting both day and night — it’s a world-class attraction that lives up to every bit of its fame.

The structure is amazing… just like the pictures you see in Internet. Easy to move around. Handicap friendly. Many spots for snacks and even for lunch or dinner. Inside is big enough to run several events at the same time. We saw The Shiralee… excellent play presentation. Buster really run the show. The terrace around the Opera offers great spots for pictures and opportunities to crash on weddings… many diverse weddings. If you have time, you can visit the Botanical Garden nearby. You can’t miss it, if you are in Sydney!
Yolanda G — Google review
Of course, the iconic tourist attraction! We usually only take pictures from the outside whenever visiting the Sydney Opera House (SOH). But Alhamdulillah this year we had the chance to watch the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) performance. The architecture is really unique. The view from inside SOP to the Harbour Bridge and the surrounding areas is breathtaking! Each performance lasted around 1.5 hours. The multimedia facility as additional modern setting adds to the amazing theatrical experience. I did not expect to watch the ACO with documentary screening as background. There are bar and café on the main concern hall that serves drinks and light snacks. You can enter from the main entrance located under the primary stairs structure, or you can enter via a door with security check-in table to right after the tourist ticketing area. There are many concerts and arts performances for all ages, not just classical opera or orchestra as I used to think. Well, a famous landmark does not need recommendation. It speaks for itself.

This is a wonderful place where has stunning scenery, cheerful atmosphere, and a broad footpath. I just come here and walk beside the sea and it is unforgettable because of the relaxing atmosphere and the sound of waves. In my experience, it is suitable for solo travel if you get into walking around and watching good scenery.

Beautiful building. Fantastic to hear a performance in the Concert Hall. Take the Architectural Tour - history of design and build, with building's features - is a must. Our tour guide was Peter, a former architect, so we had an especially great tour. Lunch was an extra treat!

From the moment I saw your magnificent building for the first time, I felt a deep, powerful sense of wonder. Growing up in Vanuatu, a place where our history and stories are carved into sand and told through generations of song and dance, the Sydney Opera House was an icon of a different kind of artistry—a modern-day masterpiece and a long-held dream.

Located on the Lower Concourse below the Opera House, Opera Bar offers a spacious outdoor area with a relaxed atmosphere. The venue serves bistro food, including pizza, and an array of cocktails. With ample seating, some under cover and near heaters in winter, the bar also features a rock bench offering unobstructed views of the Harbour Bridge.
The band was absolutely wonderful these nights and bringing the Vibe from the visitors up top of the Sydney Opera house! The food and cocktails were delicious and amazing. I want to go back. recommend, to book seating but we were so lucky that night to have the opportunity to experience this unbelievable house music I love and reminded me of home ♥️

Recently changed ownership and there is a new menu which is quite good. Just have sharing stuff but everything was nice. It is a very busy place particularly on a sunny day and weekends so you can wait for a cocktail up to 30mins and you might need to fight for a table. Service is otherwise friendly amd efficent, clearing tables quickly. Can't go wrong with opera bar given its location. Views are always the selling point.
Annette D — Google review
Everyone already knows how beautiful the atmosphere is here — it’s one of the main reasons people come. As for the food, the taste is average but enjoyable, and overall it’s good value for money. The prices are actually quite reasonable considering the location and the setting. A Margherita pizza costs about $23, while beers and cocktails start from around $19. If you come around sunset, the view is absolutely stunning and the ambiance becomes even more special with live music playing in the background. It’s a lovely place to relax, have a drink, and soak in the vibe. However, be prepared to wait a bit for a table because it’s always busy and seating is quite limited. One issue the restaurant could improve is table management — sometimes there are only two guests sitting at a large table, which makes it harder for others to find seats. Despite that, the overall experience is still pleasant. It’s the kind of place you visit more for the atmosphere and views rather than just the food. Perfect for a casual evening out or drinks with friends, especially if you come early to catch the sunset.

The food and drinks here are worth 5 stars. Everything has a burst of flavor. The atmosphere cannot be beaten, you are outside with pulsing music, on a water front, with an energetic crowd being overlooked by the opera house and Harbour Bridge as boats pass by and bats circle overhead. I try to get at least one night out here every trip o take to Sydney. It's calming. I recommend to all my friends to come here and they all day they love it.

Best bar hangout in the world! What a marvelous concept with a bar towards the ocean and one of the most iconic buildings in the back. If you come here after 7 pm there is live music/dj playing and together with excellent food and drinks it makes a unforgettable memory 4 life. We went here several times and will be back again before heading home to Europe. The order system was excellent with rapid service.

This place is the definition of dont judge a book by its cover. It looks stunning and has a beautiful view of the Opera house and Harbor. They have security there to check IDs and the day we came if was raining so we had raincoats on. He asked for ID and as I went to get mine I asked him to hold my sunglasses for a second so I had a free hand, he then looked at me like I had spit on him. The staff are overall rude and non efficient, very emotionless and careless. More often then not I could see security laughing with regulars and leaning constantly. The menu itself is all digital and looks really good but the food and drinks and pretty bad. They look amazing but are average at best. The drinks and food are also overpriced. However they do occasionally do live music which ive heard is decent. Seriously wouldn't reccomend.
Sue D — Google review
We had a wonderful sunset in Opera Bar! We ordered fish & chips, sweet potato, calamari, and pizza. Honestly, the food quality is just average — you can find much better food somewhere else. But you don’t really come here for the food… it’s all about the amazing view of the Sydney Bridge and Opera House. The drinks are a bit more expensive compared to other places, but again, it’s the location that makes it special. So in general, this is the perfect spot if you’re not really a local and want to enjoy the view. Btw, I’ll definitely come back here on my next trip — just because I love the view, and that’s all!

The Opera House backdrop makes this spot truly special — the views and atmosphere are magnificent. The food is decent, nothing extraordinary, and you order via QR code. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The only challenge: the seagulls! They act like shareholders of your meal, so be ready to guard your food with a smile. 😄

Botanical garden
Park
Research institute
The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, established in 1816, is the oldest scientific institution in Australia. Spanning 30 hectares, it offers a tranquil escape within the bustling city. With over 8000 species of plants from around the world, including ancient rainforest trees and delicate desert flowers, this garden provides a serene environment for nature enthusiasts.
One of the places I really enjoyed visiting was the Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney, Australia. It’s located right next to the Opera House and overlooks the Sydney Harbour, so the views are absolutely stunning. The garden is huge and beautifully maintained. There are colourful flower beds everywhere—pink, purple, yellow—really vibrant and full of life. You can also see tall palm trees and massive green trees that give you a lot of shade. In some areas, there are big open lawns where people sit, relax, or even have a picnic. The best part is how the garden blends with the city skyline—you can actually see modern buildings peeking through the trees, which makes it feel peaceful but still very urban. When I went there, I just walked around and took photos. The weather was really nice—bright sky, cool breeze—and it felt very relaxing. There was a small lake and also some benches where I sat for a while and just enjoyed the view. I also passed by fields of yellow flowers that were really eye-catching. I loved it because it gave me a break from the busy city without needing to go far. It’s clean, spacious, and very well-designed for both tourists and locals. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Sydney.

It is a heritage-listed major 30-hectare (74-acre) botanical garden, event venue and public recreation area. Opened in 1816, the garden is the oldest scientific institution in Australia and one of the most important historic botanical institutions in the world. The Garden and The Domain are open every day of the year and access is free. Amazing variety of plants, trees, blooms and wildlife on the grounds. Very popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Mostly easy terrain, lot of easy walking. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Beautiful place. Lots to see. Parking is hard to find - use public transport. Great place for photography. Toilets available. Cafes and restaurants available

I’ve visited the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney for a few consecutive years now, and it’s always been such a lovely experience. My first visit was in 2022 when I had some time before my flight back to Singapore — it was really chill and gave me space to reflect on my trip. In 2023, I went back alone and did the walk through to the Opera House, which was both fun and relaxing. Then in 2024, I brought my family along, and we managed to snap some truly amazing photos together. Overall, it’s a great place to take a walk, enjoy the scenery, and even burn a few calories. The air feels fresh, the views are beautiful, and its location near the Opera House makes it perfect for a stroll after a meal. It can get a little crowded near the evening, but the atmosphere is still enjoyable. For tourists, I’d say this is definitely a must-visit spot in Sydney. Here are some photos from my visits over the years 🌿📸. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spending the entire day at this beautiful botanic garden was truly a delightful experience. The meticulously maintained landscapes offered a serene atmosphere, perfect for peaceful contemplation. Diverse plant collections showcased nature's artistry, providing ample opportunities for exploration and discovery. Every corner revealed new wonders, making it easy to lose track of time while wandering through the trails. I highly recommend visiting this enchanting garden.

We visited Sydney in spring time and the flowers were out across the gardens making for a lovely sight of colours together with a floral scent. The gardens and park are extensive but can be easily walked to enjoy this open space. Great views too across the harbour the bridge and the opera house.

Lovely botanical gardens very near the opera house in Sydney! They have a great variety of Australian and Global species of plants. Lots of birds too! As a geneticist, I really loved that you can peak through the windows of the plant health lab :) Highly recommend adding this to your day in Sydney if you're going to be in the area!!

Really big botanic garden, with a myriad of plants and animals to be seen here. It’s a great place for a relaxing walk or even a picnic with friends. You’ll find plenty of open green spaces, shaded areas, and nice spots to just sit and enjoy the scenery. I also spotted quite a few birds while wandering around. Highly recommend if you want to take a break from the city and spend some peaceful time in nature!

Sydney Harbour Bridge, an iconic structure opened in 1932, offers the thrilling BridgeClimb experience and the Pylon Lookout with exhibitions. Beyond its fame, Sydney's surroundings offer unique experiences like camping beneath the bridge or glamping in a zoo with a harbor view. The city's wild heart extends to camping areas and caravan parks near the CBD, while train rides from Central Station lead to the Blue Mountains or coastal beaches.
This was such a great walk across the bridge. One has a choice to take the hike up above or walk along the path that is more level and the views quite spectacular. There are a few spots to sit and rest if needed as well.
J M — Google review
The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the most remarkable landmarks in Australia and an absolute must-visit when in Sydney. Known as the “Coathanger” because of its unique shape, this bridge is not only an engineering marvel but also a symbol of the city’s history and pride. Whether you are walking across it, driving over it, or simply admiring it from afar, the Harbour Bridge leaves a lasting impression. One of the best experiences is taking a leisurely walk across the bridge. The pedestrian walkway provides stunning views of the Sydney Opera House, the sparkling harbour, and the vibrant city skyline. It is especially breathtaking at sunrise or sunset when the light reflects off the water, creating an unforgettable scene. For those seeking adventure, the famous BridgeClimb offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to climb to the very top, where you are rewarded with panoramic views that stretch as far as the Blue Mountains. The bridge is not just about sightseeing—it’s a living part of Sydney’s daily life. Thousands of cars, trains, cyclists, and pedestrians cross it every day, making it both functional and iconic. The blend of practicality and beauty makes it stand out as one of the greatest bridges in the world. Whether viewed from a ferry on the harbour, the Opera House steps, or from the top during a climb, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is truly spectacular. It represents strength, connection, and the spirit of Sydney. A visit here is always inspiring and memorable.
Pravin R — Google review
Standing atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge was an unforgettable experience. The panoramic views of the Sydney Opera House, the sparkling harbor waters, and the city skyline were absolutely breathtaking. Walking across the bridge gave me a real sense of how massive and iconic this structure is — a true feat of engineering. The climb to the top was surprisingly smooth and well-guided, and the safety measures made the entire journey feel comfortable and secure. The fresh breeze off the harbor and the sight of ferries passing below added to the magic of the moment. What really stood out to me was how the Harbour Bridge brings the city together — both literally and symbolically. Whether you're walking, cycling, or driving across, there's a sense of connection to Sydney's history and its vibrant present. The guides were knowledgeable and shared fascinating stories about the bridge's construction and role in the city's development. It's more than just a bridge — it's a living part of Sydney's culture. If you're visiting, I’d say this is absolutely a must-do.

It is a must experience to walk through the bridge! Stunning views, and about 20/30min walking :) You can also pay to go up the little museum and have an even better view, but we didn’t do it and had the greatest time, still.
Ana C — Google review
So you can pay the crazy bucks to climb the bridge, the less crazy dollars to go to the viewpoint of just take the free elevator and walk across it. We did the later and the views are amazing. Definitely a sight to behold both from being on the bridge to just viewing it from the Rocks area. It’s just iconic.

Fine dining restaurant
Australian restaurant
Aria Restaurant Sydney, owned by celebrity Chef Matt Moran and Bruce Solomon, is a top-notch fine-dining spot offering modern Australian haute cuisine. The elegant glass-walled dining room provides stunning views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Executive Chef Thomas Gorringe's seasonal menu features delicate and perfectly balanced flavors, showcasing the best of Australian produce.
Sitting right in front of the Opera House at ARIA Restaurant, with the Harbour Bridge just behind us, it feels like one of the most stunning spots in the world for a sunny Sunday lunch. I really recommend coming here on a Sunday! And then going for a stroll after your meal around the Opera House and into the Botanical Gardens. We went for the 3-course lunch menu: I had the Jurassic Quail to start, the Kinross Lamb Loin for main, and the Matcha dessert to finish, with some amazing small bites in between. Every dish was lovely! They also have a great mocktail selection, I recommend the Yuzu Muse. Everything on the menu is halal-certified, which is a nice touch. The only two minor things I’d mention: the matcha dessert was on the sour side rather than sweet. It still tasted delicious, just not the usual sweet matcha I’m used to, but it was definitely unique. The other was that the staff kept checking if I wanted a drink. I was happy with my sparkling water, but after the sixth or seventh time they asked, I decided to go with a mocktail instead. Service throughout was impeccable. The staff were lovely and even let us take photos after our meal, a small gesture that meant a lot to me as a content creator, and it’s pretty rare at fine dining venues. If you’re in Sydney and want an unforgettable lunch with views, ARIA is the place. Instagram @bhav.xo for more

A last minute trip via ferry to Circular Quay yesterday Friday 3d October 2025. We toured the Opera House & then per chance we looked up & noticed the ‘Aria’ restaurant with its glass facade overlooking the harbour & the iconic Harbour Bridge. We didn’t have a reservation but were fortunate to be early enough to secure seating. What an excellent experience we had. The staff were simply a joy & made our lunch experience memorable We chose two courses each, the ‘aged duck’ & the ‘Chris Bolton wild caught fish’ with a side of royal blue mashed potato. For dessert we had ‘matcha coconut & citrus’ & ‘milk chocolate, honey & hazelnut.’ This truly delighted my taste buds. We paired the meal with a delicious Pino Gri. I can truly say that we haven’t tasted food this good for a very long time. So many tantalising flavours, I mean food that really had flavour, the fish actually had taste !…not drowned in sauce that hide the true taste was such a joy. Will we return ?…. We live on the Central Coast NSW but visit family in Sydney regularly, so the answer is ….most certainly & we will be happy to share our excellent experience with friends & family also. Thank you to the chef & staff for a lovely time. Gail & Ron Reed.

One of my favourite fine-dining restaurants in Sydney. Love coming back here and always exceeding my expectations. Food is consistently on point. The presentation is never too much or overwhelming but minimal & exquisite. Dessert here is always a highlight for me. The service has been very nice too, warm and friendly every single time. Great location and don’t even need to mention the view. Love Aria!

My partner and I dined at Aria last night to celebrate our anniversary, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The cuisine was exquisite, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The views were stunning, creating the perfect backdrop for a special evening. Most notably, the service was exemplary! The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely engaging. Though we have had many experiences with fine dining, Aria stood out in a way few others have. The staff struck the perfect balance of professionalism and personality, effortlessly matching our energy and sharing light-hearted banter throughout the evening. Their attentiveness was remarkable, with one server even gifting us a beer in honour of our celebration, a thoughtful gesture that didn’t go unnoticed! Regrettably, I didn’t catch his name. Every team member we interacted with showed the same level of dedication. My drink recommendation was perfectly tailored to my palate, enhancing the overall dining experience. The portions were generous, the food delectable, and the entire evening memorable in every way. A 10/10 experience. I highly recommend Aria and look forward to returning soon.

Spent $998 for 2 people. Was almost totally worth it. 8 course degustation + the premium wine matching for the lady + a dozen oysters. Service, fantastic. Enthusiasm and attention to detail in wine matching. Food presentation and flavour was thoughtful and intentional. Lose a star as I crunched my teeth into a sharp crab shell and cut my gumb on what is mean to be a shell free course. I left it to the side of my plate and I could see the waiter notice it upon plate collection. After each course we were checked to see if we liked it but conveniently no one asked how that particular course went. I'm from QLD. Have eaten at a decent few hatted restaurants around the country now. Seems to be a trend with a select few top end restaurants here in Sydney that charge $10 per person for still water. Not bottled or anything. It was simply in a glass reusable flask. Tap water for all I could care. The extra cherry on top when it comes time to pay the bill. 👎 Would I still recommend the restaurant? Yes luckily saved by the fantastic staff service.
Tim — Google review
The view and atmosphere at Aria are absolutely beautiful. The entrées, however, were a bit underwhelming. The crab dish lost its natural sweetness because the sauce underneath was too sour, which made the flavours feel unbalanced. The mushroom soup was rich, but also a little too salty for my taste. The mains were excellent — I really enjoyed the fish, spatchcock, and wagyu beef. All three were cooked perfectly with great seasoning. The dessert was also lovely. One downside was the service. I went on a Saturday night, and it was extremely busy — water wasn’t refilled promptly, plates stayed on the table for a while, and the wait between courses was quite long. It took about 4.5 hours to finish our 8-course meal.
Y Y — Google review
We visited the restaurant for our family member’s pre-wedding dinner. The food was good but nothing to rave home about. The service was good but not amazing or incredibly memorable. The ambiance was good for a fine dining, romantic atmosphere. Would I have selected to go Aria myself? Probably not. Overall we had a great evening as it was all about the family. I feel we could have had just a good time at any restaurant.

Aria is truly one of the best dining experiences in Sydney. The service was outstanding, everything ran smoothly from start to finish, and the food was exceptional. We loved the attention to detail in each dish and the thoughtful wine pairing options. They even organised a cake for us, which made the experience extra special. We had the two-course meal — the duck was definitely the highlight!

The well-crafted cocktails and wine selection add to the appeal, making it an ideal spot for special occasions or date nights.
This Circular Quay restaurant is perfect for special occasions with stunning views of the Harbour Bridge. We had the Valentine's Day menu: Appetizer: Creative scallop sashimi with orange, refreshing. Main: Angus steak (huge portion) and cheesy shrimp dumplings, delicious. Dessert: Valentine's special "Goodnight Kisses" and ice cream sandwich, not too sweet. The $155 menu is worth it, filling and tasty! Available from 2/10 to 2/15, with a $200 upgrade for better seats and extras like oysters and lobster burgers.

Had a great time here Friday night for dinner. Any dish we had was fabulous in presentation and taste, so don’t be afraid to go creative with ordering. We however noticed a few issues with service, including missing a dish we ordered, and a long wait for multiple drinks. I think a few staff seemed new, so hopefully just some communication kinks to be ironed out, and I will be going back, but do have some patience if you encounter the same issues, as the staff are all lovely. Ambience is also 10/10.

Our group of 9 had the classic set menu. Absolutely loved the pasta and lamb! But slightly disappointed that the Asian fusion flavour wasn't more dominant. The cocktail and mocktail menu were probably more memorable than the food!
Silvia L — Google review
Tasted a lot of dishes here and a lot of them were really flavourful! We had a view of the Harbour Bridge too (amongst buildings) and were seated outside on a beautiful day. The service was quite attentive and food came out at a reasonable pace!

Relatively new restaurant with an appealing menu so decided to check it out for an early birthday dinner. We got the $119pp signature set menu. The raw tuna was very tasty and the highlight of the whole meal as we found the other dishes quite ordinary. The flavour of the bakar chicken was nice but the chicken itself was slightly dry. Service was lovely however although I specified it was a birthday dinner there was no acknowledgement which was quite disappointing.

Had an excellent dinner at Penelope’s with Middle eastern twist, cocktails were nice as well. Beautiful views of the harbour bridge from the balcony, would come back after sunset for better views.

What an awesome restaurant & menu! The food was divine, although the fish lacked a little flavour for my personal liking, but it was cooked perfectly! The raw scallops, ravioli & bakar chicken were definitely the standouts for me - highly recommend! Will definitely be making a repeat visit in the near future
Joe S — Google review
We tried the set menu and it is a thoughtfully curated mix of modern Australian cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. The standout dish for me was the Spanner crab, which was perfectly balanced with creamy texture and bold flavors. The black Angus steak was another highlight, tender and cooked to perfection. The team is attentive and their passion for creating a memorable experience shines through. We‘ll definitely come to visit again!!

Hamburger restaurant
Bar Luca is a trendy and stylish space with comfortable leather booths, a wooden floor, and a terrace. The restaurant offers creative burgers and drinks. While the original CBD location is known for some of the best burgers in Sydney, its spinoffs BL Burgers and Loaded by BL also offer delicious beef creations as well as fried chicken options like southern tenders, fried chicken wings in various sauces, and the popular BL Chicken burger.
We went at a good time in the afternoon and it wasn't busy. It gets really busy on the weekends! Very good value and delicious food with nice portions. The beer on draft was really good! Friendly staff and the service was also fast. The fries were also incredible. Would recommend!

We went to try their special burger from last week, the butter chicken burger and it was amazing. We didn’t expect to be that good, the chicken was so crispy and the sauce was so well made. The mix all together give you an incredible hamburger, I wish they have it on their menu all the time !

Burgers are great! Very busy. Staff tries hard to accomodate, but system needs to be more organized. We were sat on 2 different seats to accomodate and were told to be out by a certain time. Which was fair. But other patrons with no bookings who came later, didnt have to move. No biggie, just wouldve been nice not to have moved. Burgers were solid! Great to experience them. Drinks were great too! Staff were also very nice throughout.

Tried Bar Luca recently — I had the Blame Canada (beef patty, American cheese, maple glazed streaky bacon, maple aioli & poutine). It was nice and definitely different, though a little on the sweet side for my taste. My husband went with the weekly Burger Special, but he thought it tasted like a regular burger and nothing too unique. Overall, still a good experience and worth trying for something different.

On my second night in Sydney, I researched burger establishments and this one was open later than most and had excellent reviews. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The burger was delicious and you can customise every element, adding your preferred toppings above the standard ingredients. You can also order your chips separately and the portion was really generous. Sadly the chips took a hit before I remembered to take a photo! They come with a really nice marinate!

This place is much bigger than I thought. It’s got a pretty cool vibe. We had no reservation but they got us a table in the back right away. We ordered some dishes from the weekly special menu. The Prince of Darkness was huge. There were loaded with bacon, beef patty and a chicken wing on top. It was delicious. I also had Loaded Fries. They were scrumptious, especially with laksa sauce. You should def try it! The Mac n cheese hit the spot on a rainy day as well. The Oreo milkshake was ok as it’s got a lot of whipped cream, not a lot of milkshake. Overall, our experience was great.

What i ordered: - Blame canada, it was just okay, the fries side was good but need more seasonings - the fried chicken special really not worth it at all. The chicken just so so so dry, and the whole burger need more sauce. I do enjoy the mozzarella stick in the middle tho, that was surprisingly gooooddd

For day 2, we recommend exploring the southeast side side of town. Start the day off with Taronga Zoo Sydney, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Queen Victoria Building. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Nestled along the picturesque Sydney Harbour, Taronga Zoo is a must-visit destination for animal lovers and adventure seekers alike. Home to over 350 distinct species, this vibrant zoo offers an immersive experience that connects visitors with wildlife in a stunning natural setting. Accessible via a scenic ferry ride from the city center, it provides breathtaking views of iconic landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
An absolutely wonderful place and what a view! So many animals to look at and they all seem very healthy and well looked after. There's loads of viewing areas for each enclosure and space for everyone. We visited on a busy school holiday day and there was enough room for all. I love the fact that there are lots of zoo workers around to help or answer questions. The ticket price is well worth it. Well done Taronga Zoo.
Debs M — Google review
Beautiful zoo, very well maintained and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of walking areas and shaded promenades. The full visit, including the shows, takes around 4 to 5 hours. My advice: arrive early in the morning when the animals (especially the koalas) are most active. The views are absolutely stunning — overlooking the entire Sydney skyline, the Opera House, and Harbour Bridge. Staff are super friendly and helpful. A must-do for anyone visiting Sydney or looking for a great day escape!
Arnaud B — Google review
Fantastic zoo, really well built and easy to navigate. The enclosures are all really well done and the animals look very happy and healthy. The food market was great and plenty of water stations around. I was surprised that the zoo didn't have any elephants but the seals did make up for it. We were lucky to catch the seal show which was brilliant. All in all a great day out.

I’m visiting from California. It’s a beautiful zoo. Public transportation made it easy to get there. I was there on Saturday, October 3, 2025, about 30 minutes after it opened. I bought my tickets online as suggested at their gate. I didn’t wait in line and took the shuttle up. You can start at the bottom if you want. The Zoo is hilly but there are a lot of ramps for wheelchair access or strollers. Great place to take your family or do a solo trip. Also, there are water fountains and bathrooms everywhere. Photos are taken using the iPhone 17 pro max. Some photos are using the 8x zoom. I’m not a professional photographer.

I had an amazing time at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney! Definitely best to go for a full day to get the most out of it. The ferry across from Circular Quay was beautiful with great views of the opera house on the way (roughly 15 minute ferry transfer) Once we arrived there was a slight wait for the bus to travel up to the entrance - you can walk up but it’s a fair distance to the top and I found it was nice to work you way down the zoo from the top to the bottom. Lots of animals to see and experiences with close encounters. Only downside really was the food which was a bit average but not terrible all things considered.
Gianni P — Google review
Beautiful. Fun to get to via the ferries and direct bus service are convenient. Staff at the hut where Zoo members/friends go for free entry could be nicer, staff inside are wonderful, had a young lad help us to seats at a packed bird show. Cute restuarant (wish we had lunch there), the food court, where we had lunch unfortunetly, had overflowing bins and zero trays to carry your food. The Zoo itself is very hilly and takes a good full day to see and experience everything.
Kathryn D — Google review
Not the best zoo but a fun day out and is pretty cool being able to see animals with the city behind. Cons were that a lot of the animals were sleeping and out of sight or just impossible to see, probably didn’t help that we came across the giraffe first and they were probably the best to watch. Good to check out but won’t be in a hurry to go back
Jacinta M — Google review
Took the ferry from Circular Quay across to the Zoo on a Sunday. It’s a large site to walk around but what we really wanted to see were the Australian native animals of kangaroos, koalas, emus, wallaby’s etc which we did as well as red pandas, snakes, seals, birds etc. and indeed we did!! Overall a great way to spend a few hours in a nice environment.

Great museum with alot of art to see from new to old history. It’s so big that you definitely need 2 or 3 hours for it. They have a cafe/restaurant where you can take a break. Various of nice food options available for a very affordable price as well! Would recommend going here, it’s a must and since it’s free so you have nothing to lose.

We had a wonderful visit to the NSW Art Gallery. The story time in the children’s library was such a lovely experience, and the kids really enjoyed it. We also loved the interactive exhibits in the gallery, which made the visit engaging and fun for the whole family. A great place to spend time together.

This is definitely a must-visit museum and a perfect spot to check in when you’re in the area. The art exhibitions are beautiful, inspiring, and truly impressive. There’s also a great sense of history throughout the place, which makes the experience even more meaningful. It’s also an Instagram-worthy destination — the architecture, lighting, and layout all make for cool photo opportunities. The best part is that entry is completely free! The building itself is stunning from the outside, and everything inside is well-maintained. The air-conditioning is cool and comfortable, and the restrooms are clean and convenient. To get there, you’ll walk through a lovely park, full of greenery and peaceful vibes. The whole area feels calm and elegant — it almost made me feel like I was somewhere in England! Overall, it was such a wonderful experience — relaxing, inspiring, and absolutely worth a visit. Whether you love art, history, or just want a beautiful place to wander and take photos, this museum is a hidden gem you shouldn’t miss. 🎨✨

It was founded in 1872. It is the most important public gallery in Sydney and one of the largest in Australia. It's free entry to most of the exhibits except for special presentations. It's popular with locals and tourists. Toilets are available. Cafes and restaurants are in-house and outside nearby. Parking is difficult and advisable to use public transport. Most areas are level access.

The Queen Victoria Building, a historic shopping center in Sydney's CBD, is a stunning example of Romanesque architecture designed by George McRae. Built in the late 19th century, it now houses over 175 modern stores including renowned brands like Tiffany and Ralph Lauren alongside charming tea rooms, florists, and jewelry stores. The building's grand arches, pillars, and stained-glass windows reflect the artistry of its craftsmen from a bygone era.
The Queen Victoria Building is a masterpiece of architecture. This building is immaculately well kept. There are multiple floors of shops and food establishments. From the beautiful stained glass to the old elevators it's a sight to see. It really is a testament to how much there care about the building when you see how clean and well kept it is. If you're in the area stop in , shop, eat and take in its beauty.

The Queen Victoria Building (QVB) is one of Sydney’s most beautiful landmarks. Built in the late 19th century, it’s a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture, with grand arches, stained glass windows, and intricate tiled floors. It’s also a great spot to simply admire the heritage details, especially the central dome and the iconic Royal Clock and Great Australian Clock.
Jo W — Google review
The QVB is truly one of the most beautiful shopping centres in the world. Beyond the endless high-end shops and excellent eateries spread across its multiple floors, the building itself is a spectacular example of Romanesque Revival architecture. It's a wonderful place to walk and soak up history. And speaking of history: the famous mystery letter from Queen Elizabeth II is a real-life time capsule and won't be opened until 2085. The instructions for the letter are on display, leaving visitors to wonder what message the late Queen left for the future citizens of Sydney.

What an amazing store, lots of ornate points of interest, stained glass windows, spiral staircase, fancy fretwork, banisters, and a dome of epic proportions. The Australian Clock is a truly wonderful thing to behold. I wanted to spend more time looking around, but we were on a mission and only managed a brief viewing.

This heritage-listed late-19th-century building located at George Street in the Sydney central business district, is a popular building with Romanesque design. It houses several restaurants, cafes and retail shops at 5 levels with access to trains and light rail, buses nearby. Prices at shops appear to be more than surrounding streets as it considered a prime retail location. Its lovely inside with unique architecture and is popular with tourists. There is escalator access to all floors and toilets are available.

Malaysian restaurant
Ho Jiak Town Hall is a Malaysian restaurant in Sydney that offers a modern twist on traditional street food. The chef, Junda Khoo, elevates classic dishes like Hainanese chicken rice and char kway teow while also introducing innovative creations such as beef bones with rendang curry. The menu has been recently streamlined to focus on delivering an exceptional Malaysian dining experience. The attentive staff adds to the overall enjoyable atmosphere of the restaurant, making it a great place for group gatherings.
We visited this restaurant for dinner and had an excellent experience. We reserved a table in advance through the website, and even though we arrived 15 minutes early, the staff warmly welcomed us and guided us straight to our table. The atmosphere had a cool, dark vibe that felt very inviting. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well looked after throughout the evening. Our favorite dish was the duck meat—it was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. All the food arrived quickly, and everything we tried was full of flavor. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great dining experience!
Harith J — Google review
Visited Ho Jiak over the long weekend during my trip to Sydney, and can I just say — it’s probably the most beautifully curated Malaysian menu I’ve seen! I ordered the laksa from the lunch menu while my friend had the nasi kerabu and a mocktail — everything was absolutely delicious. I personally would’ve preferred the noodles a little firmer, but the flavours were spot on. The service was top-notch too — the waitress was patient and took the time to explain the dishes when I asked for extras. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and overall the quality really matches the price. Would definitely love to come back to try their dinner menu next time!

Reserved via Sevenrooms, our family of 13 had a wonderful family dinner at Ho Jiak on a Sunday evening. Located across from QVB, we used the parking spot at 45 Market which is just a short walk. The restaurant itself has a cool vibe with brick walls and different areas of seating. We ordered a few cocktails, my Margarita was quite average probably should have gone with the Negroni. The staff is very attentive, but could have done a better job providing guidance with our dish selections considering our group size. The menu is extensive with a wide range of dish, the trick is picking their local cuisine. 1. Laksa Bomb - the shrimp dumpling is good, the broth lacks depth 2. Salted duck egg lobster - this is our favorite dish, well executed with noodles 3. Malaysian Chili Crab - the crab is not as 'meaty', the sauce leaves a lot to be desired. Perhaps use female crab and the crab butter and coral to prepare the stock? 4. Smokey Beef Rib - nice presentation, the meat is tender yet lacks the smokiness once the smoke clears (literally). Perhaps smoke it low and slow instead of pressure cooked? 5. Roast Pork Belly - lacks the crispy skin, it's a bit dry. Perhaps use garlic aioli and smoked / black salt flakes instead of tartar sauce? The sambal lacks acidity 6. Chinese Broccoli - nice presentation. The dried chopped leaves combined with the steamed stems give good texture. The oyster sauce is a bit bland. 7. Salt & Pepper Tofu - should skip this dish, nothing special 8. Belachan Kangkung - on point 9. Eggciting - our second favorite dish 10. Char Koay Teow - it's a miss, no wok-fired taste expected from this dish 11. Sarawak Black Pepper Lobster - it's quite good

We booked online for dinner here and were not disappointed. Service by Jessalyn (sorry if I spelt this wrong!) was excellent the entire night, really helpful with recommendations and when she found out we were celebrating an anniversary gave us complimentary sparkling wine. We ordered the chilli crab man tou, laksa dumplings, duck with foie gras (paired really well together) as well as char kuay teow. The food overall definitely tastes authentic and the flavour of the laksa really reminded me of home. Duck was incredibly tender and the meat basically melted in my mouth. The garlic chilli that came with it is amazing! Honestly everything we had that night was really good down to the drinks. Ho Jiak Haymarket was always one of my favourite restaurants and this one didn’t disappoint either.

Great upmarket Malaysian food with friendly service. The Assam barramundi was excellent with perfectly cooked fish and a very well balanced sauce. Our favourite dish The fried radish cubes were also very good. The laksa bomb, an interesting modern interpretation, was also delicious I also loved the pandan creme brûlée

Had an amazing dinner at Ho Jiak and it exceeded all expectations! Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The roast duck was juicy with perfectly crispy skin, the salted egg crab with noodles was rich and addictive, and the fried rice was cooked to perfection—fragrant, fluffy, and packed with prawns and roe. The fresh salmon sashimi with dressing was light and refreshing, and the crispy greens added a lovely balance to the meal. The cocktail was also delicious and complemented the food so well. Portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared. On top of that, the staff were attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend Ho Jiak to anyone looking for amazing Malaysian fusion food in Sydney. Definitely coming back!

Asian restaurant
King Clarence is a new contemporary Asian restaurant located at the intersection of King and Clarence Streets in Sydney. It is part of the renowned Bentley Restaurant Group, known for its impressive portfolio including Bentley Restaurant and Bar, Monopole, Cirrus, Yellow and Brasserie 1930. The restaurant boasts a seating capacity of 100 and is helmed by star chef Khanh Nguyen as the executive chef.
Had a great time at King Clarence. Food was tasty and beautifully plated, the lunch atmosphere was relaxed and easygoing and overall it was really enjoyable. Big thanks to our waitresses Kylie and Julie for your grace and kindness considering with had 3 babies running around. Appreciate your efficient service, you made us feel very at ease!
Elaine — Google review
King Clarence delivers a bold and flavour-forward dining experience, blending contemporary Asian influences with a refined industrial aesthetic (note for those who find it hard to hear with background music, it does get quite loud as the night progresses). From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Riley, who guided us through the layout of the menu — a helpful touch for first-time diners. Our server, Paul, was attentive, professional, and friendly throughout the evening, and the dedicated sommelier provided expert insight into their extensive and well-curated wine list. Service overall struck a balance between polished and personable, with small touches of silver service, like napkin placement, adding a nice sense of occasion. The Merimbula oyster was an elegant start — fresh, briny, and beautifully balanced by a delicate vinaigrette. The steamed prawn dumplings followed; while nicely made, they leaned toward the subtle side and could have used a touch more seasoning or texture contrast. The fish finger bao, on the other hand, was a clear standout — simple, crisp, and perfectly composed. Its straightforward flavour profile was refreshing against the richer, sauce-heavy dishes that followed. The king salmon was a delight: tender, fresh, and vibrant, letting the natural quality of the fish shine through. The beef tartare, while interestingly dressed, slightly masked the purity of the meat — a lighter hand on the sauce would let the main ingredient take centre stage. Similarly, the pippies were pleasant but somewhat overshadowed by their bold sauce. A surprise highlight was the cucumber salad — crisp, bright, and cleverly elevated with earthy cloud mushrooms. It provided a welcome palate cleanser and textural counterpoint to the heavier courses. The duck dish, unfortunately, didn’t quite reach the same heights; while well-cooked, it lacked the crisp skin and lift that could have balanced its rich, heavy sauce. The fried rice was satisfying but enjoyed late in the menu when fullness had already set in. To finish, the fried peanut butter ice cream was decadent, sweet, and nostalgic — a fun dessert, though quite rich after such an indulgent progression of courses. Overall, King Clarence offers a thoughtfully constructed tasting experience with plenty of personality. The ingredients are high quality, the service is exceptional, and the atmosphere walks the line between urban cool and fine dining comfort. While some dishes lean heavily into strong sauces that can overshadow subtler flavours, diners who appreciate bold, confident cooking will find a lot to enjoy here.

Came for a birthday and ordered ala carte and 2 mocktails. Every dish was exceptional. We would return just for the entrees alone. Great ambiance with friendly and attentive wait staff. This is another place on my list of reviews where you will find me say “If I could, I would give it 6 stars”. Great place to go to, be it on a weekday or a weekend, with friends or family, or even to entertain guests. The food tastes fantastic and the service is great. Their recommendations are top notch. The hosts are very hospitable, making you feel very welcome. A must go to place when you are in Sydney.

Wow. Every dish we tried was spectacular. The noodles had a rich thickened broth that was to die for. The rice was equal to that of Aru in Melbourne, the duck and accompanying salad super rich and juicy and the eggplant with popped wheat was perfect. Will come again. 15/10.

This place is part of the Bentley group? You could’ve fooled me. If you’re after good produce, you’ll be pleased with the quality of the meat and fish. The plating isn’t bad either, if you’re into that sort of thing. But the fusion aspect of this restaurant’s proposition isn’t nearly as diverse or exciting as what you’ll find in Burwood or Cabramatta. It was $98 per head for my dinner – not unreasonable for this kind caper, but it’s not the kind of food for which I’m likely to come back. Every “bold choice”, from the kimchi and the clay pot rice to the prawn dumplings drenched in bacon jam, panders towards the Western gaze, which is frankly cliched. I also do mind the multiple bouts of explosive diarrhoea both I and my partner experienced that night and into the next day. It wasn’t the most convenient thing to have to manage in the office.

Restaurant
Mexican restaurant
The Butler in Potts Point is a stylish and charming restaurant offering Ibero-American cuisine and creative cocktails. Head Chef Amber Doig brings her expertise in Mexican/Ibero-American cooking, with dishes like 12-hour braised lamb barbacoa and adobo skirt steak. The restaurant boasts a large, leafy terrace with panoramic views of the Sydney skyline, making it a popular spot for long lunches, date nights, or enjoying cocktails like the Spiced Orange Espresso Martini.
The Butler came highly recommended to us, and we are so glad it was, definitely lived up to the hype. Classy and understated, with an amazing view, and surrounded by plants so you don't feel like you are in the middle of bustling Potts Point. The food was sensational. We opted for the banquet which was great bang for your buck. Delicious flavours, nothing disappointed! And contentedly full without feeling overstuffed. Service was friendly and attentive. A fab little restaurant and we hope to go back soon!

Epic food, views and service. Think fabulous lunch or dinner with friends, family or take someone special here. Tables of all sizes, my recommendation is to dine in the covered terrace area as it’s closer to the views. If you prefer to be inside in aircon ask to be seated away from the stairs. There is also a bar area upstairs. We had the set menu and all of the food fabulous, prawns are served butterfly style, steak amazing, entrees special and the deserts awesome. The cocktails and wine menu offer good choices. It’s a beautifully appointed restaurant and has a sophisticated vibe about it. Service is excellent but not intrusive. Bathrooms lovely. There are stairs to get down to the restaurant so that is a consideration around mobility. Feel confident with this restaurant delivering a very good dining experience. Highly recommend this restaurant. Love your local guide- M❤️ Follow me for more reviews

We found this restaurant while walking. The atmosphere looks so nice so decided to try next time. And we did. The vibe was so beautiful as we expected. We started with the bread and butter which were nice and soft. Empanadas made of bean were amazing. We wanted to order second plate. The other dishes were all good including dessert. Also, you can enjoy the city view from the seat. It's one of the big parts in this restaurant.

Such a great experience, staff very very friendly and very accomodating. Very attentive but not intrusive. One of the best dining experience to date and our international guest love it. Thank you to everyone in the kitchen and the wait staff on the evening!! Decent parking in the area too which was great. The apple pudding pie was so so good!

We popped into this bar for a little drink for happy hour and it was lovely! The staff were great. The happy hour wine and beer were both nice and the margaritas were amazing! We got a beautiful view over the city at sunset which was nice too. The food looked good on other tables, we will be back to try for sure!

Excellent food, beautiful views, and friendly service. The oysters were fresh and full of flavour and every dish we tried was delicious. We had the most amazing afternoon on Sunday at The Butler. We spontaneously booked a late lunch to celebrate our engagement, which happened that morning. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by our waiter. The service was exceptional; attentive, fun, accommodating… after we told them that my partner had proposed to me that morning, they made us feel so special. We loved the food, wine and cocktails and they even brought us a complimentary dessert with sparklers to celebrate ✨ Special mention to our two French waiters who made our lunch so memorable. Can’t wait to come back again soon 🙏🏼

Went there for my birthday dinner and was blown away by the view, atmosphere, food and service! Our server Tom was so great. He made sure my birthday experience was top notch even making sure we got good pictures with the city skyline in the back. Also, the octopus tostada is one of the best things I’ve eaten in Sydney. Would 100% go back. Thank you Tom!!!

Nestled along the picturesque waters of Rose Bay, The Boathouse Rose Bay is a stylish dining destination that perfectly captures the essence of maritime charm. With its inviting terrace and beach-chic decor, this restaurant offers an idyllic setting for enjoying classic seafood dishes. The menu features delightful options like scallop ceviche infused with makrut lime leaf and dill oil, as well as sumptuous seafood platters and golden fish and chips.

Came here for a work Christmas party in a group of 25. Food was very good, but considering we did "share plates" the service was quite slow. Oh well, it's Christmas and they were busy so it is what it is. Service was very friendly and couldn't fault the staff's attitude at all. Lovely outlook overlooking Rose Bay. Definitely a lovely spot to come for lunch.

I usually don’t write reviews, however I took a group there yesterday afternoon for coffees before Melbourne cup function. 3 members in the group became sick due to the milk in coffee being left out for extension periods of time. Not good enough, the venue is declining and is way below our standards now. Will not be returning back. Coffee in the photo seemed bitter, and was thrown out! Lady making coffee has no experience and was told!

Crab toasts were a little fishy, my server was a blonde lady (this was june 2023) and she was kind. I just wish I knew we could have had dined in the open area. It was not an informed option and as a tourist yes I would like to eat in the freezing cold to enjoy the view. The entrance is beautiful, the establishment is neat and clean from where I sat, and food and drinks made me quite happy. Just wish it had been the open area. I think we all enjoyed the butterfly prawns.

Extremely disappointing experience as an visitor to Rose Bay from overseas. No one greeted us upon arrival. The tables where dirty & wet, but someone did come & clean them for us. I had to then dry them properly. We ordered using the QR code, 2 of the drink preferences weren't available & no apology given. The food took too long to come out & didn't come out altogether. Went up twice to enquire. One meal hadn't been started while everyone else had their food. Food was underwhelming once we got. Toilets dirty so we wouldn't use them. At least they refunded our money. Never to return. Such a shame, as it's a lovely location.

Formerly known as Centrepoint Tower, Sydney Tower Eye is a must-visit landmark in Sydney. It offers a 4-D cinema, an observation deck, and an outdoor viewing platform that provides stunning 360-degree views of the city. This iconic tower serves as a great starting point for first-time visitors to get their bearings in Sydney. The panoramic scenery from the top allows visitors to familiarize themselves with the city's layout and plan their transportation options accordingly.
This restaurant left a HUGE impression on me when I was a child. To find out the restaurant is still open and that it still revolves was so exciting. On a recent trip to Sydney over the school holidays, I shouted myself and my 11 year old child to dinner, and watching the smile on her face made my mind flood with many happy memories. I personally found the price to be a little on the expensive side, but I will not complain as the experience, the food and the views won hands down and made the price very worthy. I arranged a window seat and that was perfection. Our seating time was 1hour & 45 minutes and in that time the restaurant revolved 2 full times and some. As we were a table of two, the staff thought we must have left (while we were up getting our food) and cleared our drinks and table, but this was addressed and quickly fixed up. As it was early evening (6pm booking), we had the joy of seeing Sydney come to light. Advice would be, book ahead to grab a good table and go with an empty belly as there is so much great food to try. It was a spectacular experience that made many new happy memories. Enjoy!

Sydney Tower Eye was great! Good for tourists who want a great view of the city. $42 for one adult ticket so a bit pricey but I’d say worth it. We also did a photobooth while we were up there $10 for 3 slips with 4 photos which was quite good!

On our recent trip to Sydney we did the buffet meal for lunch in the tower. The food was amazing, so many options from traditional roasts and seafood to salads and desserts. Too many choices and the rotating restaurant is fantastic 360 degree views. If I had more time would have loved to go again at night to see the lights but enjoyed at lunch to see the sites while enjoying a magnificent feast. A definite must do.

Went for the VIP experience. Thanks to Kim and Mareil for the fantastic sky walk. The staff in the Infinity restraint were first class. Happy to explain the dishes and made us feel very welcome in a setting that was a bit alien to us. On to bar 83 where again, the staff were most accommodating and friendly. And, of course, the best views in Sydney.

Sydney tower eye. An Iconic must do experience wire in Sydney. Offering 360° views of Sydney from all angles that you’ve never seen before. Located conveniently within Westfield Pitt Street. You require tickets before entering. Along with passing through a short security check then you’ll get into a lift taking you all the way to the observation deck. There is a cafe/convenient store at the top of the tower observation deck offering light meals and beverages. Amenities at the observation deck and at the bottom of the tower . Gift shop located at bottom of tower . Staff are friendly and helpful . Multiple carparks surrounding for parking. Would recommend .

Visiting the Sydney Tower Eye was an unforgettable experience and a must-do if you’re in the city! The 360-degree views from the top are absolutely breathtaking—you can see the Sydney's iconic buildings and skyscrapers, immaculate ocean views. The Observation Deck is spacious, well-maintained, and has interactive displays that help you understand what you’re seeing. I also loved how peaceful it felt up there—great spot for photos or just soaking in the view. Booking online saved us time and money. We went there around 10in the morning and didn't have to wait at all. Overall, it was fantastic experience for us and my 5 year old son loved it.

Library
The State Library of New South Wales, located on Macquarie Street, is home to the Mitchell Library and its impressive classical facade. The library's Reading Room is a glass-ceilinged space lined with books, exuding an atmosphere of ancient knowledge. Additionally, the Tudor-style Shakespeare Room offers a glimpse into a British stately home's private library. As the oldest and largest library in Australia, it serves as an iconic cultural destination in Sydney.
The State Library of New South Wales is a gem in the heart of Sydney. The place offers a free exhibition for anyone looking to admire beautiful pieces of art on concrete walls. The interior is really beautiful especially the middle of it, where you can sit and study for hours on end till you don’t want to anymore. Unfortunately, the stairs to head upstairs were closed off for some reason but I really wished I had the opportunity to head up and admire at the many selections of books that they have to offer. I wish I was a local so that I could borrow the many books here.

The State Library of New South Wales is one of Sydney’s most remarkable cultural landmarks. Its historical architecture is breathtaking—grand sandstone facades, elegant reading rooms, and intricate design details that reflect its long legacy. Walking through the building feels like stepping back in time, yet it still serves as a vibrant and relevant institution today. Inside, the atmosphere is serene and very quiet, making it the perfect place to study, read, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The soaring ceilings, ornate columns, and carefully preserved heritage features create a space that’s not only functional but also deeply inspiring. Beyond its beauty, the library houses vast collections, exhibitions, and resources that showcase the history and culture of New South Wales. It’s a destination where architecture, knowledge, and tranquillity come together, and it’s easily one of the most beautiful public spaces in the city.

Visiting the NSW State Library was an incredible experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the grandeur of the building—it's a perfect blend of historic elegance and modern design. The Mitchell Library Reading Room, with its soaring ceilings and classic timber furnishings, felt like stepping back in time. It was both peaceful and inspiring, a rare combination that made it easy to lose myself in a good book or deep research for hours. The collections and exhibitions were a real highlight. I was amazed at the range of materials available, from rare historical documents and manuscripts to beautifully curated displays showcasing Australia's cultural and literary history. One of the exhibitions I saw featured original letters and photos from early explorers, which brought a real sense of connection to the past. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming, always happy to point me in the right direction or recommend something new to explore. Beyond just books and exhibits, the overall atmosphere of the library was calm and welcoming, perfect for studying, reading, or simply taking a break from the busy city outside. The onsite café was a pleasant surprise too—great coffee and quiet spaces to relax. I left feeling not only more informed but genuinely uplifted by the experience. I’d highly recommend the NSW State Library to anyone visiting Sydney or locals who haven’t explored it yet—it's a true gem.

Stunning Library and museum with free entry. The library looked like a place Harry Potter would find his books to cast spells. There were several museum room displays and a map room. Great place for research. The kids playroom was very good and there was an array of modern toys and books including a dolls house.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A wonderful and inspiring place! I recently visited the State Library of NSW and was absolutely blown away. The Paper Universe exhibition was beautifully curated, the design, lighting, and overall presentation were exceptional. I especially loved the thoughtful seating areas that let you slow down, sit, and truly appreciate every detail. It’s a peaceful and inspiring space that blends art, history, and creativity perfectly. Highly recommend visiting if you enjoy exhibitions that make you pause and think.

It's a large heritage listed special collections, reference and research library open to the public. It's one of the oldest libraries in Australia and was established in 1869. Original building was designed in classic Rococo style and is very attractive to see from inside and outside. It is open 7 days a week and public can study there, borrow books and use the computer. There are toilets and an excellent ground floor cafe on the ground floor in the annexe building. Parking is difficult here so advisable to take public transport. Popular place with locals and tourists.
S V — Google review
This place was my go to when I was doing my MBA studies. It’s just a perfect place to study, get things done and the atmosphere is just perfectly suited for it. I’ve been to other public libraries in Sydney but this one in particular does not tolerate rowdy behaviour or noises at all. They also have a great collection of books, journals and references. And its location is perfect as across the building is the Botanical Garden and Sydney Opera House is a few blocks away.

I absolutely loved visiting the State Library! I found that there was so much to do there. It is not just a place to study and read books. There are a number of levels and many rooms to explore. One part of the library contains an art gallery, while another has historical Australian and British artefacts. At the time of my visit, the World Press photography competition was showing too. I found it so fascinating. Some of the displays and exhibitions change periodically, and entry is all free. I could easily have spent so much more time here and am keen to go back.

The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a serene walled garden in Sydney, located near Darling Harbour. It was gifted to Australia by the city of Guangzhou as a symbol of friendship between the two countries. The garden features pavilions, ponds, waterfalls, and exotic plants inspired by classical Guangzhou gardens. Despite its smaller size compared to other green spaces in the city, it offers a unique charm and tranquil atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
The Chinese Garden of Friendship was the most beautiful garden I have ever had the pleasure of exploring. The photos truly do not do justice to the beauty and serenity of the garden. Before I knew it, I had already spent over 3 hours just wandering along the paths and losing myself amongst the plants and gorgeous architecture. I can't wait to come back again, and again, and again. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

Lovely garden, very tranquil and relaxing with several small waterfalls. Around the paths there are many different types of flowers and trees, some ducks, turtles, dragonfly, koi fish and lots of lizards. That would be 5/5. However at exactly 4:29 a staff walked up and said that they were closing in 3 minutes. I noted the time and rushed through the final area and took a few more photos, he came up and said "Well get a move on" so I checked the time, it hasn't even been 1 minute. So I'm reducing a star for not telling us they close early, no reason given, and rushing us out in less time than he said. This happened on Saturday 27 Sept 2025.

Absolutely gorgeous gardens. So much to see, I spent hours in there walking around and finding all kinds of hidden little spots to view. A great place to have a picnic as there are little areas with seating to sit back and enjoy and listen to the sounds. I can't believe that it is surrounded by the city. It's so peaceful and beautiful.

Bondi Beach is a renowned Australian beach located just seven kilometers from Sydney's CBD in the Eastern Suburbs. It boasts a wide sandy shoreline, waterfront dining options, and a skate park. The crescent-shaped beach is adorned with golden white sand and surrounded by lush green headlands, creating a picturesque setting. Bondi Beach attracts visitors year-round and gained international fame through the popular TV show 'Bondi Rescue.'
A beautiful beach. The water is really blue and the sand is fine, so you can happily stand for a while and enjoy the shore. I really loved this place. It's a must visit. Bondi fests are held in July at this place. There are many cafes and eat stores nearby. There are open stalls where you can purchase anklets, bands, etc as a memory. It has a garden area, and beach together, where kids can enjoy a lot. There are showers, taps, to clean up from the sand. It's a very good facility for all. It's a pet friendly place. There are also benches installed so elders can also have seating arrangements.

The Undisputed King: Iconic Bondi Beach "Bondi Beach is more than just Sydney's most popular tourist beach—it's the heartbeat of Australian beach culture, all conveniently located just a stone's throw from the city! The golden, sweeping sand and the electric-blue waves are absolutely postcard-perfect. It's the one beach in Sydney where you can instantly feel the energy: the surfers carving up the waves, the famous yellow and red of the 'Bondi Rescue' lifeguards on patrol, and the buzzing crowd that makes you feel like you're right where the action is. What makes it truly special is the incredible atmosphere. It’s the perfect blend of serious surf action, relaxed sunbathing, and world-class people-watching. You can grab a coffee from a trendy cafe right on the promenade, dive into the historic Icebergs pool , or just sit on the sand and soak up the unique, laid-back-but-lively vibe. Since it's so close to the CBD (easily reached by a short bus trip), it’s the ultimate, accessible escape. If you're visiting Sydney and only have time for one beach, make it Bondi. It’s iconic for a reason—it’s an essential, exhilarating taste of the Australian coastal lifestyle. A guaranteed 5-star experience!" #hikingdiarybyabid

It's a fun beach. Waves are a decent size although the current does seem to gain in strength randomly. There's so much to do around the beach though in terms of exploring, with walking paths on both sides. It's also very easy to get to with the 333 bus.

Got to be done right? It’s iconic for its surf scene and the Icebergs swimming pool. Plenty of people on the beach and in the water. Was a little surprised that the T4 train didn’t take you closer than Bondi junction so whilst we had anticipated a fair walk I just wonder why the line was never extended. That said it was nice to just sit and people watch.

Chinese noodle restaurant
Xian Biang Biang, located in Sydney's Chinatown and other parts of the city, offers a taste of northwestern Chinese cuisine with its signature dish, biang biang noodles. These thick hand-pulled noodles can be enjoyed with toppings like stewed pork or tomato and egg, but the classic choice is to have them coated in bright-red chili oil.
Biang Biang Chinatown is hands down one of the best spots for authentic hand-pulled noodles in Sydney. Their beef noodle soup and dry beef noodles were both rich in flavor, with thick, chewy noodles that make every bite satisfying. The rougamo (Chinese burger) and big bang pastry were delicious, and the side dishes were huge, making the whole experience feel like great value. The handmade pork dumplings were fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. Be sure to come early because the place gets packed quickly! Amazing food, generous portions, and authentic flavors!

They have big servings, cheap eats and hand pulled chewy noodles conveniently located near Chinatown! I would highly recommend their Chinese Hamburgers (Rougamo). Full of flavour garlic and spice 👌🏻 - Rougamo Pastry Stuffed With Pork ($9): the pastry is so crispy and flaky 👍 - Beef Dumplings In Xi'an Style ($18): Tasty beef dumplings 👍 - Stir Fry Paomo With Beef ($19.80) 👍 - Noodle With Stewed Pork with Biang Biang Noodles ($16.8): I liked the chewy mochi like consistency of the bread cubes, nice flavour 👍 - Biang Biang Noodle Soup With Pork And Vinegar ($15.80): a lighter soup base and generous serving of hand pulled noodles

Popular spot for Biang Biang noodles, the staff are friendly and noodles delish! Thick chewy noodles I recommend the noodles topped with chilli, addicitively yum! Another favourite to try is the pastry filled buns! Filled with variety of meat, it is a dry filling with no sauce in a crispy pastry bun that is tasty to eat!

Food was underwhelming. We had cold skin noodles and biang biang noodles with spicy lamb. Not only did they lack flavor, they were also too oily to my liking. All I could taste was the spice. Was disappointed with the minced lamb as the sauce. I was expecting pieces of meats. Though the noodles were chewy and springy enough to my liking.

This is an amazing spot for the bounciest and thickest handpulled noodles! Their noodles are super flavourful and the rougamos are perfectly flakey. Definitely for spice lovers!

I’ve been eating here for years, and it’s always been delicious! The oil-splash noodles, rice noodles, and roujiamo are all amazing!

We found this place after searching 'Best places to eat in Sydney' on Tiktok and thank you because the Biang Biang noodles are so good!!!! The solo beef soup is delicious, the soup was flavourful, and the beef was tender 😍 We also ordered extra meat to try the stewed pork, which was also yum!!! The lamb dumplings were good. However, I personally prefer a slightly thinner wrapper, and the soup they came in was a little to citrus tasting. So happy we came across this recommendation!!

Fan of Chinese food esp chilli oil but for the first time of my life, I don't like a chilli oil noodle soup. It was so lack of flavor and so spicy that I even had no idea which spice should be added to balance the taste. At least, me and my gf could finish the dry stewed pork noodle.

Middle Eastern restaurant
AALIA Restaurant in Sydney's CBD offers a culinary journey through the flavors of the Red Sea coastline and beyond, curated by executive chef Paul Farag. The menu showcases innovative dishes like creamy sea urchin on cumin-spiced rice and sesame leaf. The restaurant's warm and inviting space complements the upscale dining experience, with stunning timber columns inspired by the surrounding architecture.
Absolutely stunning setting tucked inside Martin Place, surrounded by architectural buildings and a sculptural pool. The interior is just as beautiful, with modern, neutral tones and a warm, refined atmosphere. We booked a table in the inner dining room (as opposed to the heated outdoor area or bar), and despite booking a week in advance, the earliest dinner time available was 8:15 pm. When we arrived, our table wasn’t ready, and we had to wait about 15 minutes outside. However, once seated, our experience was exceptional. Our waiter for the night, Sam, was outstanding — professional yet genuinely friendly and welcoming. He even allowed us to swap the tuna from the set menu for the bone marrow from the Classic Banquet, which was greatly appreciated. The food was nothing short of phenomenal, easily the best meal either of us has ever had. Even the pita bread stood out as the best we’ve ever tasted. Every dish was beautifully balanced, and the set menu was generous. We were both extremely full by the end. The standout surprise of the evening was the dessert: Milk chocolate tart with Egyptian tea and plum. Smooth, salty, creamy, and unlike anything we’ve had before. Worth returning for the dessert alone. An unforgettable dining experience. Worth every second.

Amazing! Came here for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. Francesca looked after us and we went with all his recommendations and personal favourites from start to finish and it was perfect. We loved it from entree to desserts We both said this was the best duck we've had in our lives and my boyfriend said best meal he's had this year :)

We went to AALIA for our 6th anniversary on a whim, looking for a new place to try, and the experience was absolutely amazing. We were welcomed with complimentary sparkling wine for the occasion, which was such a thoughtful touch, and chose the signature banquet menu. The food was beyond expectations — absolutely divine, full of flavour, creativity, and authenticity. I came in expecting an average experience and was blown away by the complexity of the flavours and the uniqueness of the ingredients. Every dish felt like a celebration in itself. As someone with a Middle Eastern background, I especially loved how genuine and soulful the food felt — it brought me so much joy and really satisfied my inner Middle Easterner. I would 100% recommend AALIA to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience.

Came back mainly for the duck and the turmeric sfouf. The duck was as amazing as always with perfectly crispy skin. The quails and pita bread are also highly recommended. The wine recommendation was spot on. On our first visit, the service was excellent. However, this time we walked in without a booking and the experience was a bit hit and miss. We were seated at the very end of the restaurant and felt almost forgotten for most of the night. Our wine bottle was left in a bucket without ice, and we had to top up our own glasses the whole evening The flank steak, unfortunately, was underwhelming, lacking flavor and effort in presentation. It was also quite dry for what was meant to be a medium-rare MBS9+ cut.

Very delightful and delicious experience of middles eastern cuisine with a fine dining twist. We had the signature banquet and it was amazing and very thoughtfully prepared. Staff, especially Aleyna, were very knowledgeable and explained the dishes well. Great value and definitely returning for more.

Dined at Aalia last night and it was such a pleasure! Was greeted and served by Nikos, our superb host, his recommendations were perfect! We loved the lamb neck shawarma, a definite standout. Thank you for making our night memorable!

We had a wonderful dining experience at AALIA. We ordered the set menu which was well thought out, and an appropriate amount of food. The beef rib main was deliciously tender and the duck add on was reasonably priced for fine dining. The uni ‘snack’ was also delicious and a highlight, despite me not usually enjoying sea urchin. Overall, a great experience and I would highly recommend.
Vee — Google review
Food was interesting, not the typical middle eastern as it has an African twist to it. Uni wrapped in sesame leaves was not worth $18 per piece we reckon as u can’t really taste the uni with the rice and the leave. And the sesame leaves was extremely oily. Pita bread and the dips were not bad, except the bread was quite oily too. Cod was pretty normal and the duck was not bad. We tried chocolate and the date for dessert. Chocolate was normal, my friend who tried the date quite like it. Interesting taste but nothing to wow about. Probably good to try it out but don’t think we would come back again.

Chinese restaurant
China Diner Bondi, located on Hall Street, offers a mix of creative pan-Asian cuisine in a relaxed streetside setting or a more formal dining room. While it has been known for its broader scope of Asian dining with flavors from South-East Asia, the restaurant has recently introduced weekend yum cha to its menu. This move comes as a response to the limited availability of Cantonese cuisine in the Bondi Beach area compared to other popular food options.
Came here for a late lunch and had an amazing feast. This place is located conveniently at Bondi beach, I managed to score free parking too on the street. The interior and the ambience of this restaurant is impeccable, while the service is excellent too. I had the spicy chicken xo noodles, salt and pepper squid, a refreshing lemonade/apple mock tail and a mango pancake too. Every item was delicious and the presentation was brilliant. I had a nice voucher, which meant my meal was pretty much free, felt like a politician today. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

I was impressed from the very start . Excellent front of house, warm welcome with a genuine smile. Seated us promptly and explained the specials. Our server Amy was attentive, helpful, friendly and worked the floor like a professional, again, impressed. Very busy restaurant, be sure to book ahead, great music and atmosphere. Food was delicious, modern Asian cuisine and served with space in between so we weren’t overwhelmed, as we ordered way too much. Thank you kindly for a delicious meal and wonderful service. Bar also looked fun to be at and I would like to sit there next time for drinks 🍸

Nice enough but that’s about it. Food was a mixed bag. Some good some not. Bao buns really disappointing, just like the frozen ones we get at Cole’s. Service was friendly but one of those venues where they just ask you what you would like once you’ve had a look. Just our experience though 🙂

Walked in on a Friday night. The food portion is small but I liked the taste of every single dish that I ordered. This is fusion restaurant so do not expect authentic Chinese food. This is Western mixed Asian food as you can see there’s no Asian eating at this restaurant, lol. Regardless, my favourite were the King Prawns & Scallops. The flavour was like Thai style, it was spicy, savoury, a little sweet, very strong and bold kinda taste. Scallop were cooked perfectly. I liked the sir fry beef too but it was bit too salty. I also liked that we ordered chicken fried rice instead of white rice as fried rice always has better and extra flavour. The mango pancake dessert was also very good.

Absolutely loved my experience at China Diner Bondi Beach! We ordered the chicken fried rice, pork and prawn fried rice, kung pao chicken, and crispy pork belly — every dish was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. The crispy pork belly was a standout! The restaurant’s location is unbeatable, with beautiful views of Bondi Beach that made the meal even more memorable. Service was warm, attentive, and efficient throughout. The combination of incredible food, stunning setting, and excellent service makes this a must-visit spot in Bondi. Can’t wait to come back again soon. Highly recommended!

If you want to know how a restaurant should be run, then please go to China Diner Bondi. Just got into Bondi from a long day drive & son wanted a quick early bite after a walk along the beach. Walked past & ordered directly rather than with mobile app Mr Yum, the host ordered for us. Returned to collect in 20 minutes as advised and it was disappointing indeed Special pork & prawn fried rice had decent portion of prawns dumped on the top of the gorgeous noodle box of dry bland fried rice with the tiniest slivers/slices of pork sausage. My 11yr old cooks better fluffier fresher fried rice than this tasteless brown tinged offering The sesame chicken fried spring rolls was just saved from burning with the sesame layers and the sweet plum sauce salvaged the 4 spring rolls Definitely would not return

Indonesian restaurant
Medan Ciak Indonesian Restaurant is a casual dining spot that offers traditional Indonesian cuisine, featuring dishes like nasi kapau and nasi goreng, along with special menu items. Unlike many other Indonesian eateries in Sydney that focus on Javanese fare, Medan Ciak showcases the flavors of Medan, the North Sumatran capital known for its unique blend of indigenous Batak, Malay, and Chinese influences.
I heard there's usually a wait, but I visited around 5 p.m. and got in without any trouble. There were many menu options, so I had a hard time deciding what to eat. All the food was delicious, though it felt a bit salty for me since I usually don’t eat salty food. Still, I was happy to be able to try Indonesian cuisine. The chicken dish, in particular, was spicy but very tasty. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but it’s a good place to casually try Indonesian food.

They say this is one of the best Indonesian 🇮🇩 restaurants in Sydney and probably Australia. Well the expectation and hype truly paid off as the food was pretty tasty. Heard there usually is a line to eat in the restaurant but when we came we didn’t have to wait. The food portions is pretty big and it was full of flavour. Service is quick and efficient and everyone of the dishes looked real presentable and yummy 😋

I know this place is loved by many Indonesians, and I really wanted to like it too. As someone who was born and raised in Indonesia, I had high expectations but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet them. The highlight for me was the Es Markisa (passion fruit drink), it was refreshing and delicious. Also, despite how busy the place gets, the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. However, the Nasi Kapau was just average not bad, but not memorable either. My husband, who’s from Medan, also felt it lacked that authentic kick we were hoping for.
L H — Google review
The food tastes great! (It would be even better if there were smaller portion options — sometimes when girls dine alone, we can’t quite finish a full serving.) I’ll definitely come back again — and if I can’t finish it, I’ll just take the rest to go 😁

Whenever I am in Sydney, more often than not, I would want to have a meal here. Long queues today at 1pm on a Sunday. Tried something different this time. Nasi Kapau Ikan Gembung (rice with fried yellowtail). Totally awesome (although it would have been excellent if the fish were freshly fried) but not unexpected as this is nasi padang stylewhere dishes are pre-cooked already. The sambal chilli were on-point. Will be back again to try other dishes I spied other tables eating 🤭

One of the places I always look forward to visiting when in Sydney! We had seats straight away but outside. Unfortunately it was noisy & we could smell cigarette smokes We had nasi kapau grilled beef rib & mie ayam. The beef rib was undercooked this time. The nasi kapau is excellent, though, with combination of egg, vegetable, chilli & gravy. Mie ayam is also good. Cendol was excellent dessert Overall mixed experience this time

I enjoyed spending time at this beach. It is a beautiful spot in Sydney. Since I am a plane spotter, I enjoyed seeing the different aircraft coming in for landing at SYD while soaking in the warm sand. If you are looking for a day trip while in Sydney, this should be on your to-do list.

Be it for tourism or Fort locals, Bondi Beach park is a popular hang out spot in Sydney for a picnic and hang out with friends. With bus stops and eateries for lunch or a snack nearby it's a great spot to spend time relaxing with mates or family. Get here by car, paid car parking is available (some free if you know where to look). The 333 bus is the most frequent service to the beach.

Catalina Restaurant is a sophisticated waterfront dining spot renowned for its upscale seafood offerings and an open veranda bar. Situated in Rose Bay, Sydney, it offers unobstructed panoramic views of the harbor, with the backdrop of a working harbor and incoming sea planes. The restaurant's menu draws inspiration from French, Italian, Spanish, and Mediterranean cuisines and is accompanied by an extensive selection of premium wines.
We had the most amazing experience at Catalina Rose Bay! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the head chef, which instantly made our anniversary feel so special. The food was absolutely incredible, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive, and every detail made us feel cared for. From start to finish, the whole evening felt personal and memorable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for not just a meal, but an experience. Can’t wait to go back.
Claudia T — Google review
We have been to Catalina on five occasions over the past three years and it is our favorite restaurant in Sydney. Very easy to take the ferry from Circle Quay. The pictures are a mishmash from different meals, hence labeled tasting menu portion or main portion size. When ordered as a main, the portions are nearly twice the size. I recommend that the table does the tasting menu; the menu is so diverse and it really is the best way to try a “little of everything”. The oysters with lime ceviche were bright and fresh. The chef really does blend tastes and textures well; buttery potatoes with a bright onion jam on the Beef Tenderloin for example. The Prawn Toast with sesame has the creamy shrimp that tastes like a little fritter, somehow rolled in sesame to give a great crunch, and topped with buttery, slightly briny caviar. My favorite of the entrees. A prior visit had the caviar atop a churro and the prawn toast is much preferred. The eel cream is amazing, I thought the shrimp slightly overcooked but I believe they may be poached and then held cold, but the eel makes up for it. My husband raved about his duck and ordered it the next visit as well. It is dry-aged and prepared perfectly. Very well done. Yes, the food is not particularly fast to come from the kitchen. BUT it is good food and it is ok to slow down and enjoy a meal. I appreciate that I don’t feel like the staff is trying to rush people to turn the tables quickly. The venue can be very noisy as people get boisterous when they are happy. I have to laugh at the two reviews stating that they got food poisoning. If you ever get food poisoning, call the health department and they will track back your prior 24-36 hours. It’s way more likely you got it from an ice machine at your casual lunch or your coffee bar breakfast touching the communal creamer containers than from a fine dining restaurant. The wine menu is also exceptional. They have sommeliers that are very friendly/approachable and are happy to “talk wine” without yammering on while your food gets cold. Good recommendations and a variety of price points. The bar also makes quality cocktails. Will definitely when we are back next year.

The ocean view was breathtaking, and the Catalina team created the most perfect birthday evening. From the very first moment, the bartender’s energy felt so special (in the best way!)—starting the night with a cocktail was truly the right choice. Every dish was a delight, with each ingredient shining through in flavor and care. The wine list was wonderful, and every member of the team was warm, kind, and attentive. It was a night to remember, and I can’t wait to return. Thank you for such a beautiful experience!

We visited Catalina a few weeks ago for a birthday celebration, and it was such a good choice! The team were so friendly and attentive, which really made the experience special. A big shoutout to the lovely lady who served our table, I wish I remembered her name because she truly deserves the credit. The place is cosy and right on the water. The food was delicious overall (though the pasta could have been better), but the dessert was absolutely divine!

My wife & I have been together for 8 years, and this was the 2nd best dinner we’ve ever had! Absolutely the best dinner we’ve had in Australia. We eat out at a lot of interesting restaurants around the world so I promise that’s quite high praise. We wanted to treat ourselves to a fancy dinner, and boy did Catalina deliver. We had the 7 course meal, 6 of those courses were seafood (I believe). My wife doesn’t even like seafood and she was melted with every bite. Her favourite was the tooth fish. Best fish she’s ever had. For me the tooth fish was outstanding, everything was. But the most interest was the POACHED MOOLOOLABA KING PRAWNS. I’ve never had anything like it, and it was simply perfect. Staff were amazing, location was romantic. Catalina did everything to make the night perfect. And it was!

Besides food, it’s the kind of market where you end up buying things you didn’t plan to — there’s everything from fruits and desserts to cute clips, hats, random trinkets, and even Labubu plushies! The only downside? It can get way too packed, especially later in the evening. But honestly, that’s part of the charm too. —𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒋𝒐𝒇⋆𐙚₊˚⊹♡

Chinatown Friday Night Market is back! =================== First time to the Night Market. Very crowded! Found this gem - their pan fried dumplings are super yummy and juicy! 😋 Will be back for more!

This Chinatown Friday Night Market opens only on Friday. There are many food stalls which sell delicious food like skewers, dumplings, crepes, fruit, drinks, rolling ice and other handmade crafts stalls like the handmade crochet. It is a quite interesting place to visit every Friday night which always full of visitors and tourists from around the world.

There is a pancake store near Hong Kong day dessert. It is a must! But don’t expect the place to be hygienic 🫣 ——- Went again and it wasn’t as good 😭
CL — Google review
A good night market for street food or fried snacks. The market lacks the range of stall it use to have. The stalls are closely packed together making it difficult to move through the crowd to buy food or see what’s available. The street feels dirty and the smoke from the stalls fill the air making it quite uncomfortable to stay. There is no seating area so unless you’re happy to eat standing behind stalls, or eat while walking and dodging the crowd, you’d be more comfortable eating elsewhere.

Modern Australian restaurant
Empire Lounge is a seafood restaurant that offers breathtaking views of planes taking off and landing at the Empire Lounge. The menu features some of the best seafood in Australia, like oysters sourced from New South Wales coastline, fresh sashimi, kingfish Crudo, tiger prawns and barramundi curry. If you're feeling daring try a whole lobster on the menu!
What an incredible experience at the Sydney Seaplanes Lounge! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a truly spectacular harbour view that is simply unparalleled. Beyond the views, the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome and well-cared for. We loved their pasta – it was cooked to perfection with delicious, fresh ingredients. And their house bread? Divine! Warm, crusty, and the perfect accompaniment to the meal. Fantastic dining experience with an unbeatable view, I highly recommend the Sydney Seaplanes Lounge. A definite must-visit!

Empire Lounge created the most memorable setting for our schools pre-formal celebration. For parents and dressed-up teenagers this location at sunset created the perfect waterfront atmosphere… including delicious canapés and drinks. Thanks to Kathryn and Antoine’s seamless organisation, everything felt effortless. Their team even helped us coordinate a 30+ seat water taxi straight from wharf, so all the kids could travel together to their event without any stress of Friday traffic. Empire Lounge with its dreamy waterfront location, attentive staff and delicious canapés, was an unforgettable experience. Thank you again Antoine and Kathryn.

Amazing breakfast location and worth checking out. The food was served quickly, really nicely presented dishes and sit outside to get some amazing views of the harbour. Well worth a walk and away from the hustle and bustle of New South Head.

The views and the atmosphere were lovely but the food was just OK. Non of our party of 7 was wowed by their meal. The food was average at best and significantly more pricey than the taste. I would not choose to eat there again.

The food was exceptional. We started with the freshest oysters, served with an amazing vinaigrette that brought just the right balance of acidity and freshness. The taramasalata was beautifully smooth and rich, and the lamb was a true standout — smokey, tender, and layered with complex flavours that made every bite better than the last. The chef even came over to check if we were enjoying everything. She was warm, down-to-earth, and clearly passionate about her craft, which added such a lovely personal touch. The serving team was also incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional — we felt genuinely well looked after from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-quality food, service, and atmosphere in a breathtaking location.

One of the most wonderful things about this place is the staff’s attitude. I visited twice and experienced very friendly service with smiles all the time… The hot chocolate is delicious, and the waffle is absolutely amazing. The sound of the sea waves is truly magical. Thanks 🌊💙

Great views and decent food and beers. Prices can be a bit hefty, but the burger is a good choice at an OK price. The staff is very friendly and the location is just amazing. We were seated right next to where the water planes are starting.

Had an amazing time with friends at the Sydney Seaplanes Lounge. The food was absolutely outstanding - fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The views over the water made it even better, and the service was warm and professional from start to finish. Highly recommend stopping in even if you’re not flying.

Malaysian restaurant
Mamak Haymarket is a vibrant Malaysian restaurant that offers a contemporary dining experience. The menu features an array of traditional dishes such as satay, noodles, and delectable desserts like sweet roti. The restaurant takes pride in its flaky and buttery roti, which are a staple at Mamak stalls in Malaysia. Guests can indulge in various sweet versions of the rich flatbread, served with a scoop of ice cream.
The limited menu offerings demonstrate they mastered every single dish and didn’t disappoint! The saucy squid though too spicy for me i can’t stopped from eating, it was perfectly cooked! The chicken curry was very tasty and the most buttery and soft roti I had in my entire existence! Worth the wait I reckon while watching the kitchen actions from the outside. I don’t mind the cramped space but if you are claustrophobic please consider it as they might place you at the very end corner.

I recently dined at Mamak 🍴 and it was a wonderful experience overall. The food was absolutely delicious 🤤 – full of authentic Malaysian flavors 🇲🇾 that really stood out. The staff were super friendly and welcoming 😊, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. One small recommendation ✨ would be for the service style: it would be much better if all dishes were brought out together 🍛🍲, rather than serving one dish first and making others wait ⏳. In our case, the second item arrived quite a bit later, which interrupted the flow of the meal. Other than that, everything was excellent 🙌 – great taste 😋, friendly staff 🤗, and a vibrant dining experience 🌟. I’d definitely visit again! 👏

I had lunch in this Mamak restaurant on 18/10/2025 at about 2pm. Service was quick, Nasi lemak that I ordered was excellent. The manager was very attentive and ask whether I need more 'sambal' in the middle of eating. And when I finished he asked me again how was the food. I will be back.

went when it was quiet and got seated straight away. The chicken satay skewers were smoky and tender, and the roti was crisp and chewy. Service was quick, the vibe was casual, and everything hit the spot. Ideal for a low-key dinner when you want something consistently good.
Michael B — Google review
This place is so good two of us have rationed out our visitations to bimonthly. First the star is the roti kaya - ts is crispy fluffy piping hot and SO GOOD paired with the curry (probably don’t get it with the ice cream otherwise it’ll be too sweet) - the sweetness balances out the tartness from the curry dips and sambal The roti planta is also very good but pales in comparison to the roti kaya The chicken satay is SO GOOD ! Beef satay not so much - it was a tad bit chewy and the flavours didn’t work so well with the peanut sauce - bonus the raw onions included pair so well with the heavy peanut sauce and smokiness of the satay Nasi goreng was also good - but average compared to everything else - very good buffet dish Roti pisang with icecream was just ok - i think the texture of the roti was comprised by the soft bananas and icecream Us two people eat an insensible quantity of food each time we come (we get the nasi goreng, 12 chicken satay, and 3-4 roti each time we come) - which is about 50$pp BUT if you eat like a normal person it should be 30-35pp max
Jenose D — Google review
The roti was good. The fried chicken was juicy too. The only downside was the curry chicken- it tasted rather bitter I guess because of the cinnamon inside. Chicken was also a bit dry
Pumpkin W — Google review
Absolutely loved the chicken satay from Mamak Sydney! The skewers were grilled to perfection — juicy, tender, and full of smoky flavour with a hint of turmeric and spice. The satay sauce was rich and nutty with a perfect balance of sweetness and heat, making it the ideal pairing. Even the pickled cucumber and red onion on the side added a refreshing crunch. Definitely one of the best satays I’ve had in Sydney. Highly recommended!

This was one of my go-to spots when I first moved to Sydney. I came back after almost 10 years, and it’s still just as delicious! The staff are as friendly as ever, and the prices are still reasonable. I’ll definitely be back again!

Chinese restaurant
Nestled in the charming eastern suburbs, May Kwai Chinese Restaurant is a delightful spot that embodies the essence of traditional Chinese dining. With its inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, this restaurant offers an extensive menu filled with aromatic dishes that are both fresh and flavorful. Diners can expect generous portions at reasonable prices, making it a perfect choice for those seeking a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. The restaurant also excels in take-away service, ensuring quick and efficient order handling for those on the go.
If you live local you’ll know this restaurant has been here for decades. And there’s a reason why. It’s a family friendly place where the staff are kind and attentive to children. Is it the best Chinese you’ll eat? Possibly not. But it’s reasonably priced, a bit retro in terms of decor, BYO, with decent food and affordable prices. So in Rose Bay terms - it’s a real gem!

Dear May kwai staff I just want to say how unfairly and badly we have been treated tonight at your restaurant. Yes, we are one of the two families who were not able to confirm our booking today. So my Friend made the booking for my family and her family to eat at your restaurant and somehow she didn’t confirm the time of our booking. We got there first and the first guy approached me and said ‘next time you make a booking call because I don’t know what time you were coming’. I apologised and said It was my friend who made the booking. The guy was ok and gave us a table. As we have 3 young kids I immediately ordered their food upon sitting. Our friends arrived and sat next to our table. We chatted, they got served and got their usual welcome prawn crackers and table water. About 40minutes later, I noticed that all our surrounding who ordered after us were already getting their food. Our table has got no water, no prawn cracker, no beer. As the kids were starving I followed for their order politely. More waiting and some of our order started to arrive. A very angry lady (short bob cut hair) served our food. We said thank you and followed up the kids fried rice to which she responded angrily ‘I call you today to confirm your booking you didn’t answer THAT’S WHY I DIDNT WANT TO SERVE YOUR FOOD TONIGHT’. completely shocked, I again apologised and explained it was my friend who made both our booking. (At this time my friend was out getting something so she wasn’t able to explain herself or defend me). This woman was so angry at us, I watched her leave and proceeded to all other tables to greet them. I understand that your restaurant was so busy tonight. We weren’t not a first time guests. We have been going to your restaurant for the last 15 years, and as for my husband and his family maybe 30 years. I also understand my friend was not able to answer your call to confirm our booking. She said there was one ‘no caller i.d’ call that she missed today. I think it was an honest mistake and that she obviously assumed she told you a time of our booking. You should have not given us a table to begin with. You should have just said you cannot accomodate us tonight because we didn’t confirm our booking. Why did you have to treat us that way? our mistake was not leaving after telling us that you didn’t want to serve us food. With 3 young children, it will be quite hard for them to understand the situation. We left quite shocked and very upset when It wax supposed to be a fun treat for our kids and ourselves.

We have lived in the neighbourhood for 15years and this place a great restaurant for traditional ‘Australian’ Chinese food. Quality of the food is excellent and service is prompt. Friendly and quirky service by a family run business for many years. Even the atmosphere is a throwback to the time of the traditional ‘Australian’ Chinese restaurant. The best restaurant if you are after this style. Quality of ingredients and preparations is outstanding.

My friends and I recently went to Mai Kwai for a special occasion. The food is always good. We visit the restaurant quite frequently and are known to the owners. When booking a request was made for the large round table to seat 11 and the host said it was available. That afternoon the restaurant called to confirm the booking and the requested table was still available. When we arrived we sat and waited for menus. As they were not offered, one person in our group managed to find 2 take away menus. The young girl who served us was lovely. Whilst we were eating the lady owner came to our table and rudely complained that where we were sitting blocked them from placing and serving another small table. We were shocked at her aggressiveness especially since it wasn't our decision as to where the table was placed. Later in the evening one of their employees came and turned the "open " sign around to "closed" and made a point of telling us that the restaurant was closed. He then repeated the words of the lady owner. He said to never ask for that table again and the most it could accommodate was 8. Mai Kwai agreed to the 11 request and the mistake was theirs not ours. To top it off, we were overcharged $205.00. Luckily we've been there enough times with large groups to know the approximate total of the bill. We did a quick calculation and found a huge error. We queried the error to the waiter and the bill was taken away - the correction was made with a simple comment - sorry. The whole experience made us uncomfortable and could have been handled much more diplomatically. Especially since we are regular clients. We all looked forward to an enjoyable evening but ended very disappointed. We will not be returning.

Had dinner here on a Saturday night a month ago. Despite having booked, had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. The furnishings, carpet, and tableware looked like they'd been there since the 1960s. The waiters took half an hour to take our order. The "vegetarian" spring rolls were fried with a tiny bit of "glug" in the centre. All the main courses had been reheated, and the food was tasteless.

There did is very "hit and miss" - sometimes it is excellent, other times it is awful. I think they must have different chefs on different nights, and some are better than others!!

Icebergs Dining Room and Bar is a trendy Italian restaurant located in a prime spot overlooking Bondi Beach. It's a favorite among celebrities and fashion-forward individuals who enjoy the stunning view of the beach while indulging in exquisite Mediterranean dishes. The restaurant offers a sophisticated menu featuring fresh seafood, artisanal produce, and classic Italian fare.
had an amazing experience at Icebergs in Bondi. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. The stunning ocean views set the perfect backdrop, and the atmosphere was both elegant and relaxed. The food was outstanding—each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. You can truly taste the quality and creativity in every bite. The service was attentive and professional, adding to the overall experience. A perfect combination of incredible food, breathtaking views, and top-tier service. Icebergs is a must-visit if you’re in Bondi!

A truly iconic Sydney dining experience Dining at Icebergs was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, attentive service and seated at a table with panoramic views of Bondi Beach and the crashing waves below. The setting alone is worth a visit—elegant, modern, and infused with that effortlessly chic coastal vibe that defines Sydney. The menu was refined and seasonal, with a strong focus on high-quality produce and beautifully prepared seafood. Every dish felt thoughtfully composed, with standout flavours and artistic presentation. The oysters were some of the freshest we’ve had, and the pasta with spanner crab was a perfect balance of richness and brightness. Their wine list was extensive, featuring a fantastic range of Australian and international selections, and the sommelier’s pairing recommendations elevated the meal even further. The atmosphere struck a rare balance—it was upscale without being stuffy, sophisticated but still relaxed. The staff were professional yet personable, striking that ideal tone of hospitality that makes you feel both looked after and comfortable. We stayed long after dessert, sipping cocktails and watching the evening light fade over Bondi. It’s one of those experiences that leaves a lasting impression—not just a meal, but a moment. I’d recommend Icebergs to anyone looking for a special night out in Sydney, whether you’re a visitor or a local celebrating something memorable.

If you want to sit down and have an amazing view of Bondi Beach, then Icebergs is a must visit. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Although it can be really windy sitting outside, the views and vibes are worth it. The food was surprisingly pretty decent and prices are moderately high, which is expected of the location. It’s largely self service and the decor is quite nice. Very scenic spot!

Great views and great service, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food however was very disappointing, my wife got a very undercooked quail and to they credit we didn’t get charged for it, my lamb was very salty and lacked some rendering of the fat, the flathead way overcooked. Overall we had a good time but must be frustrating for the front of the house to be let down by the kitchen. I don’t think we will go back.

Icebergs is such a classic, classy spot for a special occasion. The main feature is the sweeping view over Bondi Beach, the venue itself is beautifully designed and fitted out. The food is beautifully presented and very enjoyable. Service has been hit or miss in my visits - but overall really top notch.
