Cafe
Origo is a versatile establishment in Bucharest that transforms from a stylish specialty coffee shop during the day to a trendy cocktail bar at night. Located conveniently near the Old Centre, it offers some of the best brews in the city and provides an excellent starting point for exploring nearby attractions such as the Palace of the Parliament and Cismigiu Gardens. The café boasts a post-modern artsy decor, friendly English-speaking staff, and exclusively roasted top-class coffee.
Seriously enjoyed this place. Great coffees, helpful and knowledgeable team. I had a flat white prepared using Indonesian beans (part of their 88+ menu). It was fantastic. As a follow up, I came back a day later and had Ethiopia (from 88+ menu) and Costa Rica (standard). Both enjoyable.
Robert K — Google review
Nice and quiet coffee bar, with an elegant modern architecture. I had a cappuccino, very good but it could have been a little larger. It's not easy to have a table on the terrace, as the place is quite popular at all hours.
Jean H — Google review
Excellent service, coffee flavour and attention to detail in preparing the coffees. Tried both their cortardo and drip. They had several coffees ready for espresso, house drip, and a selection of more premium high cupping score offerings for v60.
Ask S — Google review
Came here for breakfast, not a great choice has they don’t have much to eat just some deserts. But the staff was so amazing recommending me other places where I could have a more fulfilling breakfast that I decided to stay, and had a nice blueberry bread with a cappuccino. The cappuccino was a bit small, they probably have sizes, but I didn’t realized when I ordered nor was asked, but I saw others with bigger drinks. The cappuccino was good and yet different I think was due to the choice of coffee I made. In general good experience, service is awesome
Antonieta L — Google review
Outstanding coffee in a very nice space. Indoor and outdoor seating is comfortable and beautiful. Flat white and croissant were tasty.
Edwin Y — Google review
Great place to have high quality coffee in Bucharest! Many local coffee shops use their beans for their drinks. The staff is helpful and amicable. The location is a short 5 minutes stroll from the Old Town so it is a great place to score a good coffee to start your day or as a mid-day perk me up.
Aaron N — Google review
The best coffee in town, perfectly roasted and rich in aroma, offers a smooth, unforgettable taste that awakens your senses with every sip.
Laura G — Google review
Awesome coffee, awesome place and especially awesome people! They didn't want to bring out the V60 they made for me, because it was not to their standard, so they made it again. Really shows how much love and effort they put into it!

Vatra

Romanian restaurant
Restaurant
Vatra is a charming and unassuming restaurant located in the heart of Bucharest. It's highly recommended for its exceptional service and delicious cuisine, offering traditional Romanian dishes like sarmale and a delightful Romanian cheese plate. The restaurant is adorned with traditional textiles and ceramics, creating a beautiful ambiance. Beyond its culinary delights, Vatra is situated in a vibrant neighborhood filled with hipster hangouts, bohemian art galleries, and quaint cafes.
Great restaurant near old town. As a starter we took in pork sausages. They were delicious. For the main event I took pork with garlic sauce while my partner choose the trout. Everything was so delicious. Be sure to be hungry when coming because the portions are huge. The staff were also so friendly. Thank you🩷
Richard S — Google review
We visited this restaurant during our holidays in Bucharest. It has a nice traditional atmosphere, and we appreciated that they gave us a table without a reservation. The food was good, and we truly enjoyed our meal. However, the only disappointing part was when I asked for the bill. Our total was 415 RON, and I told the waiter to keep 450 RON. Later, I realized that my card was charged 475 RON. This left a negative impression after an otherwise pleasant experience.
Efstratios L — Google review
Dined at Vatra with a few friends and it was an incredible experience! The place was packed, mostly with foreign guests, and we were super lucky to get a spot definitely recommend making a reservation! The staff were amazing, squeezing us in with a warm welcome. The atmosphere was electric, with lively folk dancing, gorgeous wall decorations, and multiple dining rooms that gave it a cozy yet grand vibe. We had two clay pot chicken dishes one with crispy fries, the other with creamy mămăligă (Romanian polenta) both bursting with flavor (especially if you’re a garlic lover). The trout with vegetables was fresh and perfectly cooked. We shared warm appetizers (awesome variety!) and sipped their house wine, which paired great. For dessert, the papanași were fluffy and indulgent, and the cheese-filled pancakes (local style) were a delight. Portions were huge and authentically Romanian. Vatra’s vibrant vibe, stunning decor, and delicious food make it a must-visit. Book ahead and enjoy!
Mundi S — Google review
Amazing restaurant with true Romanian charm! Vatra is an incredible place where you really get a feel for authentic Romanian culture. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is absolutely outstanding — attentive, friendly, and professional. The food was delicious and full of flavor, truly a perfect introduction to traditional Romanian cuisine. To our surprise, we even got to enjoy two short live performances of traditional dances, which added so much to the experience and made the evening extra special. This restaurant was the cherry on top of our day in Bucharest. I also love that it’s located just outside the busy Old Town — close enough to reach easily, but far enough to avoid the crowds. Plus, the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. I highly recommend Vatra to anyone visiting Bucharest. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Martina S — Google review
ordered the tripe soup and papasini. the soup was creamy but light and fresh. the tripe was also excellent! they gave bread as a condiment. papasini was also perfect! the crisp from the doughnut is perfectly paired with the sour cream and combined with the sweetness from the compout. the service was also nice!
Fasya M — Google review
Dined at Vatra to experience traditional Romanian food, and it did not disappoint. Yes, it might be a bit touristy (including local dancing and music), but the food was tasty. If you want to try some traditional Romanian food in Bucharest, this is a great option. Note that if you want a seat on the patio in the evening, you may need a reservation.
Maya W — Google review
Came for lunch as per a recommendation wanting try Romanian cuisine and was not disappointed. Hearty meals and Romainan themed restaurant. Yes it was mostly tourists but worth trying still.

Had a recommendation to have diner here and was certainly wonderful. Food was beautiful and the waiters were lovely and very attentive. Definitely a great Romanian restaurant to visit. Our waiter Gabriel was fabulous.

Mimi Castle

Mentioned on

Winery
Museums
Castel Mimi is a grand estate built in 1901 that offers winery tours, Moldovan food and wine tastings, as well as workshops. It stands out for its luxurious winery, recently renovated to offer a unique experience. The estate also features a luxury hotel with a private swimming pool and a wine-themed spa. Located between Chisinau and Tiraspol, it's easily accessible for visitors looking to explore the region's wine culture.
Absolutely beautiful place, something special that exists in Moldova. I went with my family to the restaurant and we had a great experience. Yummy food and drinks, the server Anastasia were super friendly and gave us a great service. Thank you for this great experience you are highly recommended and we will be back.
Mariana M — Google review
Beautiful resort, delicious food, exceptional wines, and superb customer service. The guided tour of the cellars was educational, and the food and wine tasting was on the highest level. The soundproofing in the hotel part could be a little better. Inability to control air conditioning in the rooms was a bit of a shock to me (it was 'comfortable' 23 degrees, but I, personally, prefer it nice and crisp)
Michael P — Google review
Visiting Castel Mimi was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had in Moldova. The place itself is stunning — a perfectly restored historical estate surrounded by vineyards, where every corner seems designed for beauty and relaxation. From the architecture to the gardens, everything reflects elegance and a deep respect for Moldovan wine culture. I joined a guided wine tour, and it was fascinating to learn about the history of the castle and the winemaking process. The guide was knowledgeable and passionate, making the whole experience engaging. Of course, the highlight was the wine tasting — each variety had its own story, and the quality was outstanding. The rosé and Cabernet Sauvignon, in particular, stood out for their balance and richness. After the tour, I had lunch at the on-site restaurant, and the food perfectly complemented the wines. The service was professional, friendly, and genuine — you can feel the pride they take in what they do. Castel Mimi is not just a winery, it’s a piece of living history and one of Moldova’s true treasures. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the country — whether for wine, culture, or simply an unforgettable atmosphere. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An amazing experience at Hotel Mimi. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely fantastic – every meal was a delight. The atmosphere is both elegant and cozy, and the service was top-notch and professional throughout our stay. Highly recommended!
Yurii K — Google review
We went on a Monday. Wine tasting was great. Dinner was disappointing, very few people at the restaurant, and very disappointing service. Our meals arrived in random order of starters and mains, steaks were not cooked as ordered and so forth. The place itself is beautiful, food is great, but service is not as you’d expect it.
Masud R — Google review
We only visited the château and had lunch at the restaurant. Entrance is free for guests dining at the restaurant. The outdoor areas are pretty and well maintained. The restaurant inside the château is spacious and modern. Service was very good, although a little slow. The food was good, but the balance of flavors was not quite to my taste. Great variety of wines available.
Arthur L — Google review
The winery is located in a village and there is no activities to do near by so if you’re happy with just staying in the hotel then there is no worries. Castle mimi is perfect for a summer get away. There is a spacious outdoor pool with a dj and bar. A truly unforgettable blend of history, exquisite wine, and exceptional hospitality. This isn't just a restaurant or a winery; it's an immersive journey into Moldova's rich heritage and vibrant winemaking tradition. From the moment you approach, the grandeur of the restored castle is breathtaking. The architecture, the beautifully manicured grounds, and the serene vineyards create an ambiance that is both majestic and incredibly welcoming. Stepping inside, you're transported to a world of refined elegance, where every detail speaks of a deep respect for history and a passion for modern luxury. The highlight, of course, is the wine. The guided tours through the cellars are fascinating, offering a deep dive into the winemaking process and the storied past of the estate. The wines produced at Castel Mimi are truly world-class, showcasing the unique terroir of Moldova with complex flavors and impeccable craftsmanship. Each sip tells a story. Beyond the wine, the culinary experience is equally impressive. The restaurant at Castel Mimi offers dishes that perfectly complement their wines, crafted with fresh, local ingredients and presented beautifully. It’s Moldovan cuisine elevated to an art form, with flavors that are both authentic and refined. The bone marrow was cooked to perfection and was bursting with flavour. All of the dishes we ordered were beautifully presented and were full of flavour. The staff deserve immense praise. Everyone, from the tour guides to the restaurant servers, was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about sharing the magic of Castel Mimi. Their warmth and professionalism made the entire experience seamless and memorable. Castel Mimi Moldova is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling through Moldova. Whether you're a wine enthusiast, a history buff, or simply seeking a unique and luxurious escape, this destination delivers on every front. It's a testament to Moldovan pride and a truly exceptional experience that I highly recommend.

The location it is very beautiful. The service was bad. All the staff was grumpy and they look like they were forced to service us. And to the exit when we tell to the lady we want to buy a bottle (was a expensive one) she did it the face like we We don't have enough money for that bottle and we're taking it out of its precious time. They need to learn to work with the clients.

Nestled in the heart of Bucharest, Casa Doina is a must-visit for anyone seeking an exquisite dining experience steeped in history. Housed in a stunning 19th-century villa, this upscale restaurant features two elegant dining salons and a charming courtyard adorned with fountains, perfect for al fresco dining during warm weather.
Best traditional restaurant i heva found in Buchurest. I gave to tribe soup 2nd chance after yesterday bad experience and it was delicious. The mince meet in cabbage leaf was excellent.

Casa Doina is a well-known restaurant in Bucharest, located in a beautiful old building on Kiseleff Road. The place feels historic and elegant, with traditional Romanian architecture and a beautiful garden where you can eat outside. They serve classic Romanian dishes like sarmale, soups, duck, salmon, and polenta. The portions are big and the food is delicious. The staff are polite and helpful. Waiters go out of their way to make your visit special. The atmosphere is relaxed and classy, especially on the garden terrace during warm weather.
Dasha E — Google review
It has been 20 years since my last visit, and I can report that Casa Doina is even better. The food was delicious and traditional. The setting is gorgeous. I had Sarmale cu smantana. It was so good! Papanasi for dessert. Yummy and worth the wait. I love Romania and I love Casa Doina. Forget the USA, and its high prices.
Robert Y — Google review
The server was excellent from the start. We asked for the most authentic Romanian dishes. He suggested the following: Cabbage rolls had a nice depth of flavor over mild traditional polenta. The pork/rice filling was perfectly balanced with the soured cabbage and a ripe grape tomato on top. The Romainian stew had a base of polenta, a rich flavorful stew as a middle layer and an egg on top with finely shredded goats milk cheese. Dessert was a Romain donut made with cottage cheese and sour cream. Blackberry compote with icing sugar sprinkled on top. Second dessert was apple strudel with custard and ice cream on the side. Plum brandy to end. Beautiful.

CASA DOINA® – Bucharest I visited CASA DOINA® on August 30, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The place has a cozy and welcoming feel, yet still carries an elegant charm. Its historic architecture and beautiful atmosphere make it very special. The setting was stylish and comfortable, with thoughtful details that added to the experience. The staff were attentive and made everything smooth and enjoyable. Overall, CASA DOINA® is a gem in Bucharest—perfect for enjoying great moments with family, friends, or colleagues.
Mary M — Google review
Casa Doina is an elegant restaurant, tradițional and with a professional service. There is a good choice for food and wines but to be honest the food is not the reason to comeback. Spare ribs were very dry and lamb chops was hard. Pork neck was better but in general, I'm sorry I will not book again waiting for two weeks
Ufficiohse — Google review
Very good service and great options from the menu. A bit noisy because of the live music which for a fact was really performed professionally.
Raya L — Google review
January 2025: the same excellent experience as usual! It’s an important quality being constantly perfect. Typical Romanian cuisine. The dishes were very tasty, large portions. We had tripe soup/ciorba, beef schnitzel with mashed potatoes and truffles, sea bass on the grill, mititei (Romanian meatballs), lava cake (one of the best I’ve ever eaten). Waiting time - short. They do not condition your stay to 2 hours, as Hanul Berarilor and Carul cu Bere do. Prices - convenient (except for wines; they should lower the prices). As usual, the service was impeccable (Georgiana and George deserve a 10+)!

Cafe Athenee

Mentioned on

Coffee shop
Cafe Athenee is a French-inspired brasserie located in the Athenee Palace Hilton hotel. The menu offers a mix of fine dining and traditional cuisine, making it a noteworthy spot for dining in Bucharest. While some feel that the food could be improved, others praise the vegan options and quality of dishes. The cafe's ambiance is described as relaxed and elegant, perfect for enjoying coffee or afternoon tea.
Beautiful, elegant ambience, signature fine dishes and an excelent service. This is a fine dining experience, complemented by an excelent quality price offer. They do not make reservations but a table inside it's easy to find. For the outside one's you have to be very lucky to find one.

Excellent bar! Highly recommend! Daniel made the experience especially great! Only thing better than his photo taking skills were his drinks! Highly recommend his passion fruit martini! He was kind and friendly
Danielle A — Google review
I came to Bucharest today. The first place I ate in, and it left me speechless. The place is amazingly decorated. The selection of different crockery is absolutely beautiful. The food here deserves your amount attention. The different flavours and textures, it is art. And it looks like it. A place to go to. Prices are good.
Geula G — Google review
I went here with a friend for afternoon tea. The service was impeccable, they have about 8-9 teas to choose from that were very nice. The sandwiches and the savoury part of the menu were extremely tasty, especially the warm quiche and the chicken sandwich. The scones were delicious and so were the cherry preserves; they were served with vanilla custard which was very good though I do miss finding clotted cream anywhere in Romania. The cakes were mostly good, some were just sweet unfortunately, but others blew my socks off. I wish they would have also sent pairs of the cakes, because both of us were curious and wanted to taste everything so we had to cut them. Overall it was lovely experience, not too expensive 100 lei a person, and the service and location were just amazing.
Alina P — Google review
Atmosphere & Design – 9/10 Café Athénée presents a beautifully composed visual experience, terrase anchored in a black-and-white theme with elegant gold accents. The inside bar area has a low quality ceramic which gives a lower end note. The ambiance communicates a refined and timeless luxury. The seating area, lighting, and table settings create a seamless narrative of sophistication. Coasters—crafted from leather or high-quality faux leather—are a thoughtful tactile detail. The minimalist plating of dishes aligns with elevated modern expectations, and the presentation is flawless. Staff & Service – 8/10 Staff members are notably polished and courteous, dressed in stylish black-and-white uniforms with accents of cream and grey. The team displays excellent manners and a willingness to go above and beyond when approached directly—they respond attentively and correct any oversights with grace. That said, there is no seating host upon arrival, nor is there a clear reservation policy in place. Guests may be left to find their own table and if you don't signal you're ready to order, you might be waiting a but long. A soft welcome protocol would elevate the initial impression. At the same time the service is inconsistent and there are instances where the staff is often forgetful or slow having to wait more than recommended (some even 20min which is unacceptable). Service Rituals & Cleanliness – 7.5/10 While not always proactive in checking every table, the team shows some discipline once service begins. Water and champagne are poured elegantly, and there is consistent attention to detail when resetting the table. Staff remove trash and dishes after guests leave, wiping tables with care and even re-fluffing chair cushions—a rare and appreciated gesture. Menus are accessible via QR code printed on plastified sheets. The check folder and menus are paper, which feels slightly less premium compared to the rest of the setting. Final Notes Café Athénée reflects the classic elegance of InterContinental’s legacy, with impressive design curation, attentive staff, and a high standard of visual identity. With minor enhancements in hosting structure and menu presentation, this café could easily deliver a full-spectrum five-star guest experience. (*ps I work in ID & luxury hospitality industry so I couldn't help but make a very extensive report, maybe it will be helpful to enhance the guest experience in the future)

I had the pleasure of visiting Athenee Palace recently and was treated to one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a long time. The bartender crafted a lavender gin that was absolutely outstanding—beautifully balanced, fragrant, and refreshing. Beyond the drink itself, the service was impeccable. Courteous, attentive, and professional, the bartender made the experience feel welcoming and memorable. Truly a wonderful blend of great mixology and warm hospitality. Highly recommended!
Mitch B — Google review
Lovely work break, as always, at Cafe Athenee. Attentive staff, gorgeous matcha latte, excellent service and exquisite cakes. Special thanks to Daniel, Luisa and Ana! Highly and warmly recommend!
Ioana N — Google review
I’ve been here several times and the experiences have been quite different. To start with, the interior is very beautiful, elegant, and tastefully designed. It has a relaxed, intimate atmosphere, with enough space between tables to feel comfortable and not be disturbed by other guests in the restaurant. It’s a lovely spot for weekends—during the day, you can choose to sit outside and although the area is quite busy, the view of the Athenaeum makes up for it. It’s also suitable for dinner in the evening, when a nice atmosphere is created by the indoor lighting. However, there have been times when we were served by waiters who weren’t very friendly or professional, which is a downside. Another negative aspect is that the menu isn’t very diverse—in fact, there are very few options to choose from. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but in this case, it feels a bit extreme. The cocktails are very good, and so are the desserts, with traditionaly French options, which I really appreciated - the paris-brest was my favorite.

Bar
Ironic Taproom, established in July 2020 by Razvan Matache, offers a cozy and unpretentious atmosphere with 20 taps featuring Romanian and international craft beers. The venue also provides a selection of fizzy drinks and bubbly for adults. Visitors can enjoy fresh and well-prepared burgers from the small but diverse menu, including options like the veggie burger. The taproom is known for its carefully selected specialty beers that are not easily found elsewhere in town.
A good place to taste a lot of different craft beers. Also had their burger and fries, which were super yummy as well! Would definitely recommend coming here for a fun night out
Zarah R — Google review
We ate the Truffle Burger and the Baxi, both quite good, the bun was quite impressive, patties well seasoned and pretty juicy for a smash burger, and overall very cheesy. They were out of fries which was a bit of a disappointment, however, it was a Sunday night after-all. We tried the Internationally Unknown beer, which is very floral and tastes like honey, very interesting refreshing taste. Overall, would recommend. There is plenty of space inside and you can enjoy a very laid back atmosphere.

Great taproom, with a wide variety of beers, lagers, Pilsners and even a couple of stouts (one being an Imperial Stout). Well priced. Nice atmosphere, plenty of seating from large groups to solo visitors. The burgers are very tasty and worth ordering

They have a great selection of beers and the prices are shown for 100ml and you choose your glass size and pay accordingly. The beers are presented on a train schedule banner (departures and arrivals) and overall it's really fun! If you are a craft beer enjoyer, this is your place!
Maria T — Google review
Very tasty beers and nice atmosphere. However they are charging 7 lei per sauce which is an absolute rip.off - they need to review the prices as we got a ketchup and mayo with our fries and it nearly doubled the price. How is a usually free condiment more expensive than a glass of beer?.bizarre pricing
Jay A — Google review
The burgers where fantastic! One of the best I've eaten and I am not limiting it to Romania only. Beers where very interesting and if you are into unusual craft beer flavours, than definitely stop by. Service was lack and insistence on tips every time you buy a glass of beer is uncomfortable. The spa e itself is very very minimalist hipster. If you like that kind of vibe than great, but for me it was a bit too much. Still, would definitely recommend if only for the burgers!

What a gem! We went 3 times on our 4 day trip to Bucharest. We tried some of the other “famous” restaurants aimed at tourists and kept coming back to this one. Way better quality for a very very reasonable price. While not all items are available (ask the server), everything we tried was super delicious! They make their meat inhouse. Have not had a better sausage or steak in years!

Popped into this lovely place in old Town not far from park! Food was great-delicious and very fast served.. I had cow's brain that was served with polenta. Nice pub in a prime location. The decor is traditional for a pub and there’s plenty of large screens for following the sport. Drink prices are a little steep for the city but the staff are friendly enough and there’s plenty of seating on the pavement out front too. For a chilled drink it’s a good option.

Romanian restaurant
If you're looking for top-quality, authentic Eastern European cuisine in generous portions and at affordable prices, Pensiune Restaurant Mărginimea Sibiului is the place to go. This restaurant stands out from the rest with its delicious soups, main courses, sharing plates, and desserts that are served quickly and taste absolutely amazing. The pricing is fair and reasonable, leaving customers satisfied and eagerly anticipating their next visit.
Stopped by for a late breakfast, ended up with a pork knuckle, followed by a traditional Romanian dish papa nache (not sure of the spelling). The food was really good, not too busy and the staff very friendly. Worth a visit if you fancy trying something Romanian and authentic!

Ok so if you want to eat the best traditional food in large quantities and for the right price... You go to this place. I don't think I ever went to any other place that makes the food better than this place. From the soup, to the main or the sharing plates and deserts, this place serves fast, great tasting food, correct pricing and you leave happy looking forward to your next visit. Great job, we will return with the same appetite.

We been there just for a night. The place is nice and comfy, the service was outstanding, above our expectations. Very quiet and clean place. I will definitely recommend the place. We eat out for the period we spent there.
Laurentiu P — Google review
Long waiting times and mediocre food. The sour cream for the soup was stale and disgusting. Food was barely OK, would have left most of it on the plate if we were less hungry. Would not recommend or come back here again.
TOSHMIRIN B — Google review
The food is decent (not great, but fairly standard, Romanian fair) and the portions are huge. But we waited nearly 2 hours to get our food. The place was packed and I understand that things can take longer when you are busy, but this was unacceptable. It took more than 20 minutes until someone even took our order. If there were some extraordinary circumstances I feel like we should have been informed before being seated.

Very good traditional food. Not cosy, not fancy, just a good place to eat.

Restaurant
Le Boutique is a must-visit dining destination in Bucharest, where modern elegance meets a warm and inviting ambiance. The restaurant prides itself on its attentive service and an impressive menu that highlights French and European cuisine, focusing on fresh, local ingredients. Whether you're stopping by for lunch or dinner, you'll find beautifully presented soups and salads to start your meal. As the evening unfolds, indulge in exquisite dishes like tender duck breast paired with seasonal vegetables or flavorful lamb cutlets accompanied by rosemary garlic roasted potatoes.
Went here for dinner with my friends. The staff was very nice, our waiter even took a photo of us. The food was very good and great value for money. The design of the place is modern yet cosy, however the upholstery needs more care in the future because it's starting to look used.

The service is friendly and the atmosphere pretty great. Although it took some time for the food to be served, it was delicious, as were the cocktails.

Overall a pleasant experience. The food was good, especially the appetizer consisting of smoked cheese croquettes. The main dishes were overall fine, although the lamb chops weren't as tender as expected and the potatoes were dry. The pork tenderloin with cream sauce and porcini mushrooms was tasty. Very good chocolate souffle, not too sweet. They have a good wine selection, although no printed wine list is available. Service was really slow, but the atmosphere was cozy and the prices are decent.

This restaurant looks very classy, I really liked how the interior was decorated. Furthermore, when I arrived, there was some live music. Talking about food, I had chicken with gorgonzola sauce and mashed potatoes and it was tasty. For dessert, I chose tiramisu with forest fruits, but I didn’t like it very much. The girls had pasta and bruschetta and weren’t impressed. Prices are decent and overall, it was a good experience, but food can be improved.

The place looks great but the food is disappointing. The shrimp with garlic was good. The ice cream was nothing special. My friend had the pork with cranberry sauce. It was pretty awful. Then for dessert she had cheesecake. I took a bite and it was the worse cheesecake I ever had. Not a great food experience. Side note: the Greek music was amazing tho.

The food is tasty, served fresh and without long waiting times. There are many options and the prices are affordable. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed!
Crina I — Google review
Great atmosphere, there was a ceremony and they also kept the place opened for 2-3tables for normal customers. We ordered delicious foods, their asparagus soup and the duck. Both were wow! The fish cream was too fatty, me personally was not a fan. One minus: again, like many Bucharest restarant foods: too much salt and lava cake was tooo sweet. Good serving, fast, friendly, customer-oriented. Clean. Payment by card accepted. Wheelchair accessible. Not a splurge, but a little higher than decent prices. My advise: add protections for the chair legs… if not, pretty soon you will have the splendid floor well scratched :(

Tasty food, warm atmosphere, friendly staff. Friday nights with live music, we really enjoyed it. Wine, dine and dance. Niceee 🤩 It doesn’t get 5 starts because the wine wasn’t served chilled :) Maybe they will start reconsider this.

Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport

International airport
Airport
Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport is a well-organized and efficient airport, especially during peak periods like the Untold festival. Despite heavy traffic, the airport manages to handle a large volume of people smoothly. It's relatively small but caters to both domestic and international flights with fast flight check and security services. Official taxis are readily available outside the arrivals building, offering safe and card payment options for a convenient transfer to the city center at around 10 Euros.
Small airports are usually pretty good and all things considered it is the same here. They recently completed a major upgrade and it is quite nice inside. It was interesting that none of the checkin desks were open when we got there. We had to wait for someone to start their shift. However this was not too much of a problem. The airport, even with the new renovations still does not have jetways so you take a bus to your airplane and board on stairs. The one nice thing about this is that if your seat is at the back of the plane you can go up the rear stairway.

Very basic. Few shops. Small variety of eating places, (two/three) uncomfortable chairs, very basic amenities. The so called business lounge is not good The good parts are, the staff are very pleasant. The walk between passport control and boarding gates is extremely short. And there are plenty of toilets.

Small airport but decent. Security is a little nit-picky and takes extra time to go through. The bathrooms were all clean when we went.
Starnes E — Google review
Ok. A little crowded. Seems under construction. Had to be taken by the bus from the tarmac to the terminal. They only used two buses and waited for the entire plane to smash in there like sardines. They could have made a second trip with the first bus and get some people in line for immigration. This caused a bigger mess with a massive crowd of people waiting in line for passport control. Overall not bad if you're not in a hurry. People seemed nice and helpful.

€80+ million invested and the airport is somehow worse than before. The so-called “upgrade” has resulted in a disaster of design and execution. Furniture is uncomfortable and randomly placed like an afterthought. Security lines are a nightmare, poorly designed to the point they spill into the check-in queues, creating chaos instead of order. Wayfinding is nonexistent. There is virtually no signage, so you have to fight through multiple lines of people just to locate your terminal. The layout feels like it was created by people who have never actually traveled. Operational planning is just as incompetent as the design: all flights are scheduled to leave at the same time, followed by hours of nothing. I arrived three hours before my flight and still almost missed it because of mismanagement, understaffing, and sheer lack of planning. From design to creation to operation, every aspect screams failure. It is astonishing that this amount of money could be spent to make the passenger experience so much worse. Next time just embezzle the money and don’t make things worse.

I have been pleased with the services and also about the kindness of the staff there. They were ready to help however there is a downside of it and this is the parking lots in the short stay parking. Car park was jammed with a lot of cars which were not parked properly n their bay, car park itself was very small and parking bays were too narrow for the new generation of cars. Lacking the spaces for parents with young children this was a disappointing for us a young family. Is needed for at least another machine where you can pay for the parking as was a queue and one machine was not working. Overall happy with the service inside the airport and happy with the professionalism’s of the staff and dissatisfaction regarding the parking systems.

I used to fly many times from Cluj airport, there is always renovation or employees from low cost companies who have arogant altitude. Last time I was charged 73 euro for extra bag or how they want to call it too big luggage. I paid and asked them detailed invoice they asked me 3 euro extra for a paper invoice and said will have written that is for the bag the fee I paid, but on the paper I got, there were no details such as what was paying for, just the price. If you travel for work purposes can not give a simply paper to the accountant without specification of what you paid for, they do not know if I bought a perfume or I paid for their strict bag pollicy so is not fair what they do.

Truly the air gate to Transylvania. This airport was become really practical since the recent terminal upgrade and the opening of the DEX4 bypass road. When we arrived by Wizzair from Malmö, we were even allowed to walk to the terminal, without having to take the short shuttle bus.
