the girl & the fig

Restaurant
The Girl & the Fig is a charming bistro that offers inventive French country cuisine and an impressive selection of fine wines. Located in a historically landmarked building, it provides a farm-to-table dining experience with an outdoor patio for guests to enjoy. The menu features French-leaning dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, complemented by a wine list filled with Rhone varietals from both local and global vineyards. Additionally, the bar serves seasonal cocktails and drinks featuring French ingredients.
Came in on a sunday at 7:30pm, reserved online. Note a cancellation fee per person if done on short notice. No problems with parking at a nearby free street parking. Food was fantastic, we ordered: Appetizers: Fried green tomatoes, Potato soup, Smoked Salmon, & Duck liver mousse Mains: Duck confit, Steak au poivre, Wild flounder meuniere Dessert: Profiteroles, Creme brulee Each one was lovely! Service was top notch, Olivia was endearing but also very informative. Plates were reset for each section and care was given as needed. Atmosphere was great, overall design was cozy and the heaters were just right for the chilly evening even if we were outside. Excellent places for groups of 2-4

I made a reservation on OpenTable but arrived 30 minutes late, so our table was no longer available. Luckily, we were able to sit at the bar, which turned out to be a great experience. The bartender was incredibly kind and welcoming—she walked us through the menu and offered thoughtful recommendations. We started with two glasses of wine, a mocktail, duck mousse, and sourdough bread with butter and salt to share. For entrées, we ordered the duck confit, the bone-in schnitzel, and a French omelette. The schnitzel is an absolute must—an impressive, thick-cut pork chop that was perfectly crunchy with a flavorful sauce on top. The duck confit was tender and well-prepared, while the French omelette was delicately presented with ham folded inside. To finish, we shared the warm cookie with a milkshake, which was the perfect ending to the meal. The food was delicious across the board, and the lively, bustling atmosphere made the lunch even better. I would definitely come back!

On our 33 Sister week in Sonoma CA we had an awesome meal here. Fried green tomatoes, Smoked Trout, Olives, Mussels, cheese board, scallops, schnitzel, Steak tartar, Risotto. All fantastic. Rich flavors. Our server Liberty was attentive, friendly, always smiling and accommodating our one vegan sister. Wish we could stay and come back. Highly recommended.

We stopped into The Girl & The Fig in downtown Sonoma, and what a charming little spot it was! It has that cozy, slightly old-fashioned French bistro feel — the kind of place that instantly makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the cheese plate, which was perfectly curated and paired beautifully with a glass of wine. My friend ordered the tomato risotto — phenomenal, rich, and comforting without being heavy. I had the fish, and it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and relaxed in the best way. You could tell the staff really enjoys what they do. We didn’t have a reservation but lucked out with two seats at the bar (which turned out to be the best view in the house). That said, definitely make a reservation if you’re planning to go — this place fills up fast, and for good reason. Overall, it’s a wonderful little French gem in the heart of Sonoma — quaint, delicious, and full of charm. Highly recommend!

What a beautiful little spot! the girl & the dog easily is a top choice for any occasion. I came here to celebrate my birthday with a group of 8 of us and our experience was wonderful. Our server was attentive, the food and drinks came out promptly, and everything tasted spectacular! I would recommend putting in a reservation as this place can be quite popular and in high demand.
Grace P — Google review
Maybe we came on an off Sunday, but I wasn't especially impressed by what we received at the girl & the fig. Service was well above average and helpful, but I found the menu to be pretty standard new american fare and uninteresting. The appetizers we received were perfectly okay but my burger was perhaps the wettest burger I've ever received and collapsed in on itself. Next time I'm in the area, I personally would not come back.
Jeremy Y — Google review
Really good dinner spot in the heart of Sonoma’s main square. We ordered the steak tartare which was excellent - highly recommend. We also ordered the fig & goat cheese salad and the butter nut squash risotto - both were excellent too, we were just too full to finish the dishes. Would strongly recommend making a reservation here if / when you’re in town, and if you can, eats outside with the heat lamps. Shoutout to Willie (spelling?) for being an amazing server
Marc G — Google review
I just returned from a two week road trip throughout beautiful California. One of the highlights of our trip was dining at The Girl & the Fig with Seth as our epicurean guide. He pointed us to the scallops and duck confit and perfectly paired everything! The pear dessert was fabulous! I’m so glad we went. This place is a gem! I loved the art work everywhere and themes in each room. It was a wonderful experience.

Bistro
Cafe La Haye is a charming bistro located near central Sonoma Square, offering a creative American menu with seasonal dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. The small but carefully curated menu allows the chef to focus on delivering high-quality plates, with daily chef's specials listed on a blackboard. Chef Jeffrey Lloyd takes pride in using organic and local ingredients to create unique dishes that highlight the flavors of Sonoma County.
My husband I were visiting Napa and Sonoma for our birthdays. Through a bit of research, I found Cafe La Haye. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to dine here. I had the risotto and added several shrimp. My husband had the bolognese. Both were outstanding. A Happy Birthday butterscotch pudding and a apple fruit crisp capped the evening. The service matched the food and the whole experience, really, it was great!
Jodi R — Google review
Great staff, very detailed oriented and attentive yet not pushy. Always ready to help us. Location is great, in downtown Sonoma which was a plus for us since we are able to walk back to our hotel. Food I had mix feelings about it. It was tasty but it did not hit the wow factor for us. Excellent taste but something was missing. Portions were on the smaller size. Appetizers definitely not shareable.
MH A — Google review
We had an excellent dining experience at Cafe La Haye. Our waitress, Gabriela was wonderful. She was so friendly, attentive and checked in with us through out our dinner to see if we needed anything, and to make sure were happy with our dishes. It was our first time there, and her recommendations on what to order were spot on! Kasa also took care of us through out the evening. Kasa was meticulous when it came to ensuring the table setting and our food presentation were perfect. He was also so pleasant to talk to. And, the food was excellent!!! We had Butter Lettuce Salad, Braised Short Ribs in Puff Pastry, Risotto with Prawns, and Fresh Tagliarini Pasta. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. The entire staff was so pleasant and we got meet and talk to the Chef before we left. We highly recommend Cafe La Haye for an excellent dining experience. We will definitely go back.
Linda C — Google review
A very very solid place in Sonoma - come for the food. We ordered the specials - an amazing beet salad and sole, both of which were light and flavorful. We rounded out the meal with a tiramisu that was equally fresh and light. You can’t go wrong with a dinner here. Forgot to take all the photos because the food looked so good!
Marc G — Google review
Just amazing!!!! Service was impeccable food clean and to die for. Expensive dinner but completely worth every penny. We both ordered the salmon which just flaked away and was perfect parings with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Wine was so-so though it didn’t make a difference. Will be back on all those special occasions.
Leanne B — Google review
We visited Sonoma for the first time last week and on our last night in town scored a table at Cafe La Haye. Small restaurant (make a reservation) and the food was incredible. The risotto special with rosemary shrimp was delish!
Shannon H — Google review
We had a very amazing lunch at La Haye. This spot is amazing. Chicken sandwich and burrata were both executed flawlessly. The service was amazing as well. Really enjoyed the whole experience start to finish!
Scott M — Google review
Best food in Sonoma - was our absolute favourite in Napa/Sonoma. Cafe La Haye competes with all (Michelin star) restaurants in the valleys and is an amazing choice. Great with kids, cozy athmosphere and amazing food.

Breakfast restaurant
Valley is a charming culinary gem nestled in the heart of Sonoma, offering a delightful High Tea experience. The restaurant features a polished terrace and sophisticated wine bar, making it an ideal spot to savor seasonal Mediterranean-inspired fare. Guests can enjoy farm-to-table meals at The Girl & the Fig or Valley Bar & Bottle, while those with a sweet tooth can indulge in homemade ice cream at Sweet Scoops or savor delectable desserts like Beehive Cake at Basque Boulangerie.
We stopped in, had a glass of wine and some lunch. Really great food. I had the hippie salad and it was fantastic. All the food we saw on other tables looked good as well. Great back patio, nice chic boutique type of place. Good wine selection. I would come again for sure.
Daniel K — Google review
Solid restaurant. It’s quite hipstery. The added price of chicken for $12 is a lot in my opinion, but they do give you a hefty serving of chicken. Their menu is minimal and it doesn’t really include details about what will be included in each dish. We had to ask about every dish we ordered. The tea was interesting. I’m convinced it’s a Horton hears a who situation and there’s a community of whos in that tea kingdom (see photo). Our service was somewhat slow but vibes were cool. Nice bathroom.
Lexy M — Google review
What a cool little lunch spot! They also offer brunch and dinner, but we went for lunch on a weekday as while their menu is very limited for lunch, they still had items we loved. Their special was a panko breaded chicken breast over a salad with ranch and it was really tasty. Their hippie salad is very popular, as we saw many tables (including ours) with it. The staff was friendly and the setting is quaint and nice. We sat in their outside, back patio area, it was quite large and shaded, so we were comfy. Also appears they are Michelin rated, based on the sign out front when we walked in. We’d definitely return and it’s a place that people visiting should try!
F'burg F — Google review
We had an outstanding lunch here. The atmosphere was great as we dined next to someone arranging fresh flower bouquets in the outdoor dining area. We had the fruit and ricotta, the quinoa and the hippie salad and they were all fresh and delicious. It was easy to get a table and the service was good. Great location in Sonoma Plaza.
Ken L — Google review
Our hosts brought us here as they said it was their favorite. And I can see why. The first word that comes to mind to describe it is fresh. You look at the menu and you want one of everything, which is kind of what you do. They have small plates which lend themselves to be shared. We were lucky enough to have our hosts’ guidance on what to get. Our order: XO egg- a delicious deviled egg with some sort of meat on top. A MUST Tomato Toast: sounds lame but the show stopper of the day! It comes piled high with tomatoes on the best bread. I could have had 5 orders of it alone. Poblano dip: this was tasty and good to share. Lettuces with green goodness and seeds: decent portion, super fresh, and surprisingly satisfying Crispy rice with ginger sauce: you will order it, you will LOVE it. Goes good with any entree. Black Cod: surprisingly the best protein we had. Burst of good solid flavor. Greek lamb: not our favorite as it felt one note but not bad by any means. Usually you are in a bad place if you say you are in a valley but this Valley transports you to a better place. Not only with the food but also the service. It felt like all their employees helped us in some way. It felt like a community feel!! Go experience this place for yourself! It is on the Michelle’s Guide for a reason!
Kenzie W — Google review
Stopped in for breakfast with a couple of friends and the food was fantastic! My partner and I shared the Bodega breakfast sandwich — easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The American breakfast was also a hit, especially the crispy potatoes. We also split the cinnamon toast, which was a generous portion, super fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly, though it seemed like they might have been a bit understaffed — three of us had to get our drinks remade due to mix-ups. That said, it didn’t take away from the experience. This was hands down my favorite meal during our Sonoma getaway, and I’ll definitely be back!
Leslie M — Google review
Fantastic dining experience, walked in on a Sunday evening and got a couple seats at the bar. Favorites were the halibut ceviche and chocolate mousse, but everything was above expectations.
Melody P — Google review
SPLENDID. Sat at the bar, and had the olives, stone fruit with ricotta, and the butter poached halibut. Delicious! Friendly staff, good vibes. Highly recommend.

Restaurant
Barndiva is a farm-to-fork American eatery located in Healdsburg, CA. The restaurant offers various experiences, from a cocktail-centered wine bar to a creative and exuberant dining experience. The menu features dishes like roasted cauliflower soup with fried capers and poached apricot, as well as duck leg confit with apple marmalade and heirloom beans.
We enjoyed some amazing cocktails at the bar with Buck, who was so knowledgeable and friendly! Their infusions artfully mixed by Buck were so refreshing and unique! The Drink, BDs Manhattan, and You are Time were all stellar! The ambience here is amazing & we highly recommend! Thanks to Buck and the whole team for a wonderful experience!

I recently celebrated my birthday here and it was a great choice. It’s not fine dining the cottage core decor is a little pretentious the service is meh…but the food is excellent. You can tell the care and attention they put into each dish. The ingredients are fresh and some grown on their own farm. We tried many different dishes and I’d recommend them all. For starters we had the very popular goat cheese croquettes (delish - highly recommended for good reason)the winter salad (pomegranates, persimmons, greens….so so good) tiki masala and pomme frites were bothe delicious and for dessert the hazelnut puff pastry and strawberry sorbet. Barndiva is a great choice for a special occasion or just a nice evening with friends and family!
D C — Google review
We had our wedding at Barndiva! Is such a beautiful space. The staff was excellent. We didn’t have to do much except book the place and they made our special day happen and it was more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. The backyard for the ceremony was perfect (pictured). To top it off, the food was excellent. We had many guests tell us it was the best wedding food ever. We had the we had the steak, which was insane, but many of our guests said the salmon was cooked to perfection.
Eugene S — Google review
Cannot recommend this place enough as a venue! My jewelry shop “falling for dainty” is located just across the street so I knew I wanted to have my wedding here. Their attention to detail is amazing. Susan, their event coordinator has the best communication and made the entire process so easy! The evening was magical and all the servers were so attentive. The grounds, the food, the customer service 10/10! Thank you!!!
Falling D — Google review
Loved the food. Definitely worth a visit!! Service side has been hit or miss. Some staff has been wonderful, others less so. Was declined being able to taste two different wines (that are sold by the glass) before deciding… on my birthday no less. Was odd, we’ve done many times before and pretty common. Another occasion we had asked if we had ordered enough food for our party since some portions can be on smaller end. We had been told yes and the mark was way off. We are lighter eaters in general, but the dishes were hardly enough for one and was a busy night to order more.
Marissa — Google review
We hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at Barndiva, and it was absolutely perfect. We rented out the entire restaurant for our smaller dinner and then opened it up for about 130 guests for a welcome drinks reception — and from start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was fantastic (our guests were talking about it all weekend!), the cocktails were perfect, and the service was truly impeccable. The outdoor area, which is already beautiful, was styled with extra touches that made it look somehow even more magical. A huge thank-you to Susan, who guided us through the entire process with so much warmth, patience, and professionalism. She made everything easy and stress-free, which was such a gift during a hectic wedding week. We and all of our guests were beyond impressed. I would recommend Barndiva to anyone — whether you’re hosting an event or just looking for an incredible dinner experience in Healdsburg, it’s simply perfect.
Gabrielle Y — Google review
I’m honestly surprised this place doesn’t have at least bib gourmand. The food is stunningly presented, absolutely delicious, and service is wonderful. We went after a day of tubing in the hot sun and our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The chicken tikka masala, the chicken, and fries were superbly executed. Really well-made tasty food. I didn’t try the food for the other couple but they gobbled it up - the burger and the trout. It looked excellent. We’ll definitely be back.
Peggy C — Google review
Amazing brunch 😋 can’t wait to come back for dinner! We ordered the fried chicken toast (it’s crunchy on the outside yet tender on the inside) and omelette (it’s very tender inside and sauce is so delicious that I had to order a brioche toast to soak up the sauce). I also ordered a belly rum shrub (beautiful and refreshing). Restaurant’s interior is very cool.

Celebrated my wife's birthday on the patio. We had a wonderful time. Food was exceptional; I had the paella which was so good. Everyone enjoyed their meals and most ranked it as best dinner. Wonderful service , great wine selection. Delicious desserts. Highly recommend

Everything about this restaurant is above and beyond. The service is excellent and you can tell the food is cooked with passion. Not one meal lacked in taste. Even the fries are delicious!
Yerena D — Google review
So close to a 5 star… service was lacking a bit and the Chicken was dry. The Mushroom Risotto with prawns, amazing!! Great wine, beer and liquor selections. Oysters were legit and great atmosphere. Open kitchen concept is always great to watch. Y’all should check this place out.
Chad C — Google review
My wife booked this and my only question was, what is Californian restaurant mean? Well the answer to that question was answered by the food, it doesn’t matter. We were seated promptly and even greated with a nice little card to start off as it was our anniversary. We started off with some prosecco and got starters you have to get the burrata with that huckleberry marmalade and hit of garlic cloves. Still dreaming about it. We had that with their mixed green salad that was set off by the wonderful hit of goat cheese. For main course my wife had what had to be the best scallops we ever cream sauce. I went in on the paella that came with shrimp, calamari, mussels and chorizo and the rice that was all perfectly seasoned and portioned. To top it all we finished off with a crème brûlée and the entire course with a fabulous County Lin Pinot noir. Man all the food came out on time in order and to please. The staff just as equally great and pleasant as the food. Mario was our waiter and the star of the night, even pairing perfectly our desert to the wine we were drinking.
Andres G — Google review
Great spot for lunch! A little indulgence and a lot of great food. We started with an item not even on the menu - some fried paella balls. We overheard a local order them and had the great fortune to also get a couple. Secret menu!! Oyster starter was great. Perfect salinity. Tender with all of the right accompaniments. The shrimp ravioli were brilliant. Large, plump shrimp in a decadent sauce. Short rib was fall apart perfect. The salsa verde was a bright surprise that added an additional level to the dish. Service matches the food. Spot on. 100% would go back.
Vince M — Google review
Had lunch here recently and had a great experience! All the dishes were wonderful. Ordered a toasted squash with tofu and lentil dish that was fantastic!!(peppers on the side please). Had a salad, that I split with my partner and they kindly divided it up between us. Also had the shrimp tacos that were also really good. The drinks from the bar were very good too. They have some nice patio dining but we didn’t have reservations so sat inside. I will definitely be back. It also has a nice interior.
Gregg — Google review
Beautiful outdoor patio and cozy indoor space. The food is always excellent! Luncheon tostada is my favorite. Others really enjoy the short rib bowl and salmon. Will keep returning!
Lpoe — Google review
This place was recommended to me, and now I highly recommend it as well! The mushroom salad was good with the earthy taste of the mushrooms shining through. The standout dish was undoubtedly the seafood paella – hands down the best I've had outside of Spain! The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the rice was infused with a rich, savory flavor that left me wanting more. Just had to dessert. The chocolate tart was delicious – decadent, rich, and perfectly balanced with some pecan nuts, and caramelized citrus fruit on top. Not too sweet, just pure chocolate bliss! The service was top-notch, attentive, and knowledgeable. Our server made excellent recommendations

Glen Ellen Star

Mentioned on

New American restaurant
Glen Ellen Star is a charming restaurant with a simple yet inviting ambiance. It offers a classic menu featuring wood-fired pizzas, vegetables, and mains. The restaurant has garnered positive reviews for its creative Nepalese-Indian fusion cuisine. Despite its unassuming appearance, Glen Ellen Star impresses diners with its culinary expertise, making it a must-visit spot in the area.
Glen Ellen Star: small, stunning, and exactly what you need. This little boutique spot may look unassuming, but it delivers serious flavor with soul. I came in on a warm evening, not super hungry, and ordered the gazpacho with fresh bread as my main—and wow. It was everything: cool, vibrant, layered with just the right balance of acid and sweetness. The bread? Warm, crusty, soft inside—melt-in-your-mouth perfection. It hit every note: Light but satisfying Simple but elevated Comforting without being heavy And because it was so perfectly portioned, I had room for dessert, which was absolutely worth it. (They rotate their desserts, so trust the pastry chef—you won't go wrong.) Why I’ll be back: Inventive but grounded seasonal menu Intimate, stylish interior—perfect for a relaxed dinner Friendly staff who clearly care Thoughtful portions that leave room for indulgence And that gazpacho… I’m still thinking about it Glen Ellen Star is the kind of place that quietly wins your heart. Not overdone. Not trying too hard. Just beautifully done food in a space that feels like home—if your home had a wood-fired oven and a pastry wizard in the back.

We absolutely love Glen Ellen Star, and prefer to sit at the chefs counter so we can see the chefs in action as they prepare food. The food is incredible. Full stop. Superb wines. Great service and charming atmosphere.

Michelin Star restaurant with great pizza! We started with the grilled cauliflower and had the blanco (?) pizza. We also had an amazing server (we’re forgetting her name) but she helped us make our honeymoon very special. Definitely a restaurant to keep on the rotation if you’re in the area. Just make sure to have a reservation well in advance!!
Marc G — Google review
What a gem! Lovely dining room, unpretentious, excellent and smooth service. The food was phenomenal and worth the price point. Would absolutely return when in town - that “almond joy” chocolate mousse dessert alone is worth an encore.
Andrea I — Google review
Glen Ellen Star is such a cute and cozy restaurant serving up delicious wood fired food. My boyfriend and i shared their frog hollow stone fruit and halibut tartare to start and they were both wonderful and refreshing. The pineapple tamarind coulis that the tartare was served with was especially mouthwatering. I got their Hawaiian BBQ brick chicken for my entree, it had a crispy pineapple coconut rice cake on the side which was so delicious. Both of the desserts we got were great too but the real stand out was their cherry pie ice cream! | wish i ordered a second because it was just that good.

For our anniversary, we had the most incredible dinner at Glen Ellen Star in Sonoma. Seriously, every dish was pure perfection, and the staff was so friendly, professional, and welcoming. We were lucky enough to snag seats at the Chef's Counter which made the evening even more special – watching the culinary magic unfold was a show in itself! If you're ever in Sonoma, you NEED to experience this place.
Daniel R — Google review
Glen Ellen Star is, without question, one of the most outstanding Michelin-rated restaurants I have ever experienced—and its star is well-deserved. Nestled in a quaint cottage warmed by a wood-burning oven, this restaurant emanates intimate charm while delivering bold, creative Californian cuisine. The evening began with Brentwood corn, a vibrant reimagining of Mexican street corn that arrived with sumptuous roasted kernels, a whisper of cotija, and a spicy chili-lime finish—a truly phenomenal start. Next, the Frog Hollow stone fruit plate delighted with seasonal peaches and nectarines, fresh and to-the-point, brightened by a subtle chile kick that lingered just enough to keep you coming back for more. For the main courses, we started with the wood-fired whole branzino—Mediterranean in inspiration and expertly deboned tableside. The moist, flaky fish was presented on a board and accented with smoky char, herbs, and seasonal accompaniments—truly visually stunning and decadently delicious. The seafood segment continued to shine with the Cajun-style halibut special, served in a cozy, nuanced broth swirling with potatoes and sausage. The interplay of spice, texture, and broth was expertly balanced—so much so that not a drop remained. Then came the showstopper: the Yuzu poppy‑seed cake, a recent addition to their dessert offerings. The cake’s tender crumb, tangy lemon curd, and jewel-bright blackberry compote made this dessert truly unforgettable. And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, the house-made vanilla bourbon ice cream arrived—served in a charming cup, rich and luxuriously smooth with a mellow boozy warmth and velvety texture. Complementing each dish was a thoughtfully curated wine list and craft beer selection that elevated the flavors on the plate and enhanced the cohesive dining narrative. Our wine guide was both attentive and informative, creating a seamless flow from appetizer through dessert. For its artistry, warmth, and consistent excellence, Glen Ellen Star has firmly secured a place at the top of my Michelin-starred list. I’m already counting the days until Stella, their upcoming Italian-inspired sister location, opens. This is Napa dining done right—balanced, inspired, and unforgettable.
Lindsey G — Google review
Fantastic meal and a highlight to our trip to Sonoma valley. We loved the upscale service and food while enjoying the quaint and welcoming ambience of Glen Ellen. The wood fire grill acts as a central element to the dishes, which provides a crazy level of flavor depth. We enjoyed the roasted snap peas, Wagu steak, Prawns with bisque, and summed up the fantastic meal with a Persian love cake. The wine selection was extensive, which met my expectations given the location in the heart of Sonoma. We enjoyed our dinner from the Chef’s counter, which was memorizing watching the chefs execute each dish perfectly. Highly recommend dining here if you enjoy a nice meal with quality sourced ingredients.

Nestled within the Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort & Spa, Wit & Wisdom provides a sophisticated yet laid-back dining atmosphere with stunning views of the resort's grounds. Led by renowned Chef Michael Mina, this establishment showcases the abundance of Sonoma County through a menu that emphasizes seasonal ingredients and robust flavors.
We came to this place 2 times. We tried all the three steak options: fillet mignon, new york steak and the wagyu steak. All the steaks are really top quality. Suggesting fillet mignon though. The fries is also good; with the duck fat. In the pizzas, definitely the ricotta one. For desert, also don’t miss the cheese cake. They have also large variety of wines.
Turev A — Google review
Exceptional food, service, and atmosphere. The duck wings were outstanding, the entrees (salmon and sea bass) were excellent, the warmed olives were great, and so was the truffle Mac and Cheese. The ambiance is nice. We really enjoyed our meal.
Ken L — Google review
Lovely space and such attentive staff from the hostess to the bartenders and waiters. They went out of their way to suggest other wine when the orange varietal I ordered was not in stock. Made us feel welcome and relaxed. We ordered the seafood tower and bread / butter, plus a burger to share. Everything was beautiful but flavor was severely lacking so much that we didn't finish the beautiful crab dip, prawns, tartare or bread rolls. Also was disappointed with the honey butter. The honey was mild but I prefer the taste of plain butter. My favorite part of the meal was simply the perfectly chilled endive leaves and the tiny bite of sashimi.

Had a business dinner here recently — my colleague picked it and nailed it. The space is modern, cozy, and beautifully done. We started with the spicy arugula cheese pizza — honestly one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The Caesar salad and duck fat fries were also amazing, and my salmon with spicy corn was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Dessert was next-level. The brûlée cheesecake might be the best cheesecake I’ve ever had — perfectly creamy with that caramelized top. We also tried the peanut butter chocolate dessert — delicious, but super rich, so share it if you can! Wine list was great with plenty of local options. Service started a little rushed, then slowed down, but everyone was friendly and helpful. Parking tip: easiest access is the lot near the hotel entrance/valet area. A bit pricey for a casual night, but absolutely worth it for a special evening. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

What a wonderful dining experience in Sonoma! The food was delicious, the wine selection was perfect, and the ambiance was lovely. We were celebrating a special occasion, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel truly special. Highly recommend! Panna cotta was chef’s kiss ✨

Split the Lobster Pot Pie with a friend and it was okay. A whole beautiful lobster tail but the cream sauce didn't do it for this southern boy. Beautiful setting and attentive service. Would recommend.

We came to Sonoma for the weekend and loved Wit & Wisdom so much we came back two nights in a row. After a day of wine tasting, the cocktails were delicious and a nice change. We did the tasting experience both times with some minor tweaks. They also accommodated our food sensitivities. In addition, the service was top notch both times. We would highly recommend.

We hosted a Rehearsal dinner for 28 people and welcome party for 65 people a couple of weeks ago. The venue, excellent service by the staff, and food were amazing. Everyone raved about the evening! We are still receiving compliments. It was a perfect evening. Thanks to Luca, Kiyomi and everyone at Wit & Wisdom for making our party very special. Our son and future daughter -in-law thought it was fabulous - a home run!

Californian restaurant
Restaurant
Valette is a rustic-chic wine-country restaurant in Healdsburg, known for its upscale space and Californian cuisine. The former Dry Creek Kitchen talent, Chef Dustin Valette, has made a name for himself with his contemporary Cal-global cooking and an open kitchen ambience. The menu features seasonally changing dishes like slow-cooked celeriac soup, yellow beet tartare, and crispy skin local sable fish.
If i could give 10 stars i would. Based on service alone… Add in the flavor and thought of all the dishes served i would need to give this establishment a 50/10. One of the best meals i have had in years. If you are thinking about going to Valette stop thinking, and just go.

Amazing experience. We indulged in their chefs tasting menu, and we’re now proud members of the clean plate club. After each course we thought it couldn’t get better, but it did! Such elevated flavors and an overall well done experience, definitely recommend

What an incredible and unforgettable dining experience! The food was so thoughtfully curated with every flavor and texture perfectly balanced. Portion sizes were generous. The service was impeccable and we felt so well taken care of the entire evening. These brothers are executing on their restaurant mission so well and the chefs are delivering - this was the best showcase of the bounty of the region we’ve experienced in the area so far! Cannot recommend highly enough and we can’t wait to come back.

This restaurant was recommended by friends who visited several years ago. I believe something changed recently as other reviewers pointed out. We had the scallops, halibut, and steak. 1. The bread reminded me a bit of king Hawaiian rolls - it was good, but did not belong in a restaurant of this class (should have been our first hint) 2. The scallops were good - a bit too salty for me, but the presentation and the combination of flavors were spot on. They were perfectly cooked. 3. My pork was flat out bad :( it came with fresh fava beans, which I expected to be at least a bit steamed / cooked - they were not, which clashed with the pork tenderness. The pork chop was tender, but it was also undercooked in some areas - you don’t undercook pork and chicken! I had to cut around the underdone pieces and finally gave up because I wasn’t enjoying the dish anyways. The pork and the beans were over some bean puree and chimichurri-type sauce. There was also a splash of chili oil on the side of the plate. The spice in the chili oil and chimichurri was so overpowering, that I did not taste anything else. Even the chanterelles (which caught my eye and were the main reason I ordered the dish) were flavorless because of the overpowering spice. Our waiter offered to bring me something else, but I was already full on bread and whatever I tried of the dish. He ended up comping the dish for us, which was much appreciated. But the fact remains that it was not good 🥺 4. My mom’s halibut was good, but a bit overdone - it was not as tender as halibut normally is. The atmosphere/ setting was more akin to an upscale bar than a fine dining restaurant. It was fine for me, but - again - not what I would have expected from a restaurant that charges >$40 per entree.

Our family of six ate here on a Wed night. We had reservations for 7:45pm. Atmosphere is nice. Easy lighting, not too loud, not too crowded. Our server was very nice. He made some recommendations when asked. He wasn't the most enthusiastic but he did a good job. The food was delicious. The duck was a big hit. Other favorites were the pork loin, the squash entree, the potato side, the charcuterie tray, and the caviar. We would definitely recommend this restaurant. It was probably our best meal in Healdsburg for our group.

We very much enjoyed dinner on the sidewalk patio. The weather was perfect as was the food and service.
Rob T — Google review
This will probably be an unpopular opinion.....I thought our meal and experience was just ok/good. With the previous star and the rave reviews I expected outstanding. The reason for the 4 stars is for the Day Boat Scallop presentation. The scallop was delicious. I had the steak and my husband the pork. Both were good but not unbelievable. I feel if you are doing one of the tastings you get more attention to detail. We did ala carte (the horror lol). My husband ordered a beer as soon as we sat down and it was not to his liking but he didn't want to complain because he chose it. But you would think once during our time there someone would have noticed and asked if it was ok, especially since I ordered a second drink.

My wife and I celebrated 25 years of marriage with a vacation to wine country. That brought us to Healdsburg. Some searching on Google reviews led me to reserve our dinner at Valette. This turned out to be such an awesome night. Let’s start with the personalized 25th anniversary menus and a handwritten letter wishing us a happy anniversary! That just put an “!” on the fantastic food and service. We started off with well-made drinks (Bees knees gin cocktail and a mule). Our appetizer was Kobe beef tartare. So tender and fresh. Then came our entrées. My wife had the special, mushroom risotto with freshly shaved black truffles. I had the oven-roasted Mt. Lassen steelhead trout. Believe it or not the cucumbers stood out to me in this dish. Admittedly, as good as my dish was, my wife had the winner. Her risotto wasn’t overly rich, so flavorful, I could taste that mushroom with the black truffle, kicking it up. Thank you to Bob Valette and the rest of his family and team for making this the highlight of our 25th anniversary trip to wine country!

Friends who live in Sonoma treated me to an exquisite dinner at Oso. The food was beautifully prepared, plated and flavorful. I can't wait to return to see what other delights they will have on offer.

We didn’t have reservations but even at 7pm in a Friday night, they were able to get us in. It was delicious! Our server was great too. We loved the Deviled Eggs, Caprese Salad and several of us got the Sautéed Broccoloni with Shrimp. It was all wonderful. It was an excellent find!
Erica K — Google review
I would have thought this was a Michelin starred restaurant for the food quality and attention to detail on flavor. Service was great especially for how busy they were.
Bethany N — Google review
I’m honestly writing this review while sitting at the table because this is the best meal I’ve ever had. I came for lunch while on a Wine Country Tour and this simple lunch far exceeded any expectations I had. We started with the deviled eggs and the heirloom tomato salad, split the rock cod tacos, and ended with their baked berry dessert. Friendly and fast service and FRESH ingredients. The heirloom tomato salad came with burrata and it was hands down one of the best things I’ve ever ate. Simple and delicious. This is how food should be!

Sat at the bar here and had a great time watching the magic of food being made. Atmosphere and vibe is great. Service can be a little slow due to being so busy. Overall food was decent. Our appetizers were great - definitely recommend the burrata and baked oysters. The special of the day was a seafood stew, it was pretty delicious but just way salty. The shrimp tacos on the other hand were missing a hint of something that would complete the taste. My friend said the chicken sandwich was okay. Overall good experience.

Big fan of Oso! Absolutely love their happy hour, and the food is super fresh and delicious, great bartenders and servers as well!

Osso Sonoma was a surprise to me. It was delicious and I enjoyed making the effort to get there for Happy Hour. On warm evenings, Osso is definitely the place. Service was excellent! And, the small plates for appetizers were yummy! The special on Thursday evening was pad Thai and it was something I would order as an entree, so gratifying as Thai food is wonderfully made. The bread served was like pizza, yes it was that good! I wanted more. And, while I’m not a seafood or shellfish fan, the shrimp tacos were yummy. All this food was paired well with my choice of sangria. Osso does a scrupulously refreshing recipe. Just the right amount of ingredients and flavors to mix with the wine. For my next visit to Osso, I will try the blood orange margarita. Everyone at my table enjoyed their cocktails. This is definitely a place to go out with friends, especially when the warm weather beckons to enjoy the evening to twilight hours out on the town.

Great find with delicious, healthy food delivered hot. Staff is over the top friendly and attentive. Chef David uses only the freshest ingredients. I loved my salmon and dining on the back patio. I highly recommend and will return.

Nestled in a historic early-1900s brick building, Diavola Pizzeria & Salumeria is an Italian eatery that offers a traditional yet innovative farm-style Italian menu. Chef-owner Dino Bugica's expertise, gained from over a decade in Italy, shines through the gourmet pizza, pasta, and panini offerings. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients for its daily-changing menu and features a selection of fine Italian wines to complement the dining experience.
What a cool place! The historic building is quite pretty and cozy. And a great menu! I had to try the stuffed zucchini flowers as they are always a treat. These were quite good. Crispy outside and loved the cheese filling. The corn tomato salad on the side was delicious. The pizza was also very tasty. Nice charred yet chewy crust and loads of toppings. The Serrano peppers brought the heat and the honey added some nice sweetness. Service was friendly and efficient. They were very quick to correct an ingredient error. This is definitely a pizza place to try!

We were told that there was a great pizza place in Geyserville, so we made this our destination lunch stop after a little wine tasting. It did not disappoint. We had "The Bee Sting," which was amazingly delicious with a little heat and sweetness. The crust was perfectly made—not chewy, but soft and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience.

Food was good. Pizza was little burnt on the crust, but nothing too bad. I just thought it was little more than normal. Service was good and didn't have to wait for too long to be seated. Self checkout receipt was interesting and worked flawlessly. Nothing extraordinary that I noticed nor anything bad.

Scrumptious dinner here tonight! 3 adults and two kiddos enjoyed arancini, pizza, pasta, gnocchi plus carrot cake and cannoli. Highly recommend sitting in the outdoor area in the back. Refreshing mocktail, lovely environment and all of the food was incredible! Also, it’s in a very cute town!

Wonderful family dinner. We preordered and have a family style 5 course meal. Corkage $25. Fantastic pizzas and pastas. Great ricotta cheese cake. Good street parking. Accepting reservation only for a large parties. Indoor and outdoor seating

Decided to go out of our way for a late lunch, all thanks to the rave reviews we'd seen, and wow, it totally paid off! The Bee Sting pizza was a highlight – cooked to perfection, and the peppers really brought the heat without overwhelming things (and I'm usually not one for super spicy!). We were seated immediately and had fantastic service too.
Robb J — Google review
Tasty pizza and good experience overall. The flavor options are fun variations on familiar favorites, so you can get a little adventurous in an accessible way. The tiramisu wasn't anything standout, though enjoyable enough.
Amy D — Google review
So, today I took Mom for a late lunch to celebrate her 96th birthday. Our server was Mark, and he couldn't have been kinder. GREAT people skills! I ordered the Birria tacos, and Mom ordered the Gnocchi with pesto and veggies. Both were OUTSTANDING. I felt bad asking him to wrap mine after just a few bites and was afraid he thought it was because I didn't like it. I LOVED IT! But I am on a new GLP-1 (in a study) and well, this meal proves it is working. My appetite was zero, but the food was AWESOME. Mom was raving about the fresh cooked but still crunchy veggies in the gnocchi and stated it was the best she has ever had! In 96 years that would be a lot!! 5 stars for certain!

Airport
Oakland International Airport is known for its diverse range of artwork and is conveniently located near a golf course and an aviation museum. The airport offers a variety of dining options, including unique spots like Bakesale Betty's, where guests can enjoy their famous fried chicken sandwich at makeshift sidewalk tables made from ironing boards. Another popular spot is Brown Sugar Kitchen, which recently opened a new location in the San Francisco Ferry Building.
Changed planes in Oakland on the way to Seattle. Only a few gates down. Very clean and organized. I had imagined it would be old and outdated. We felt very comfortable during our very short vist.
Shawn I — Google review
Unlike Denver International Airport, they don't have the comfortable long chairs for you to lay down and rest during the trip, and the restroom not clean good enough.
Chan T — Google review
The airport is recently remodeled and is empty. It is way better than most airport that I've been to. Give it a chance, don't knock it just because it's Oakland. I would definitely prefer to fly from here now.
Raphael P — Google review
This a great airport in the most convenient location in the Bay Area. More choices in Southwest flights than SF or San Jose. Kaiser has sponsored a nice remodeling of the lobby. The shops have lots of local food and merchandise. Hopefully the commission will give up in the silly name games and focus on improving the airport.
Christopher H — Google review
I recent used this airport to go visit my family. It’s very new, well kept and checking through TSA was fast and efficient even when line seemed a bit long. I will use this airport more often. I didn’t have high expectations and it did indeed exceed them. I’m glad I did try it and can’t wait to my next flight.
Xo L — Google review
Smaller airport yet very busy yet without sensation of being crowded. This visit (as I write this) was a layover. Courteous airline staff at customer service counters and at gate podiums, one doesn’t have to walk “miles” between gates, even during busy times, flow of foot traffic goes smoothly, and the overall airport atmosphere feels clean and bright (well-lit,) which contributes to the positive feel of the place. Navigation is easy and fellow passengers are also polite and courteous (part of the overall atmosphere.) I had about 1.5 hr layover and as I rested, intermittent napping (backpack on lap and carryon by my knees,) over about an hour, many passed me by and someone came to sit beside me, and I didn’t feel unsafe nor did anyone try to “take advantage” of me resting.
Joanna W — Google review
Despite its name and location, I actually really like Oakland International Airport. It’s small enough that you won’t get lost or overwhelmed, which makes getting through security and finding your gate pretty easy. The terminals is clean and well-kept, but I do wish there were different food and store options, there’s not a ton of variety. The biggest downside is the traffic situation outside; whether you’re getting dropped off, picked up, or driving for someone, it can get a little chaotic. Still, it’s a convenient airport for me and overall a pleasant place to fly in and out of.

This guy right here when I was way, although the store was closing, he helped out a handicap. Man made the airport of five star review Oakland airport. Gotta give this guy kudos for all his hard work and all his recognition to help others due to their handicap position and willingness to help others to make the world a better place

San Francisco International Airport

International airport
Airport
San Francisco International Airport is the main airport serving Northern California, offering direct rail service to San Francisco. Travelers can easily pick up Avis car rentals at Oakland International Airport upon arrival. San Francisco itself is a vibrant city with plenty to offer, including iconic attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge. The airport provides convenient access to various Bay Area cities through local subway services and features amenities such as art exhibits, an aviation museum, restaurants, and stores for travelers' convenience.
Well-designed, modern airport that's easy to navigate, with clear signage and efficient layouts across its terminals. The architecture is sleek and spacious, featuring natural light, art installations, and eco-friendly design. Staff are generally friendly and helpful.
Iryna K — Google review
Pretty convenient airport in terms of all the connections it provides for domestic and international travel, especially in western areas. As expected, it can get pretty chaotic at times, and some of the gates do not provide enough seats for the number of people they host, but that's an issue with many other airports of similar characteristics/demand. I certainly recommend arriving extra early to ensure a smooth experience.
Laro — Google review
Highly Impressed! San Francisco International Airport is a surprisingly seamless experience for travelers. The terminals are modern, spacious, and impeccably clean, making navigating through security and gates effortless. Signage is clear, the layout is intuitive, and there’s a sense of efficiency that keeps the stress of travel to a minimum. From dining options to lounges, SFO feels polished and well thought-out—perfect for starting or ending a trip on a high note. ✈️

This airport is so well organized. I could not believe how quiet this place was. I heard very few loud blaring announcements. Even the bars were quiet. The bathrooms were also well kept. TSA was a breeze even with the Gov shutdown. Uber and Lyft pickup points were simple and efficient.
Cort M — Google review
It's a nice, modern airport that has been recently renovated. The intuitive building layout and directions make it easy to navigate. However, the price level after the security check is pretty high. The luggage trolleys cost $9 to use. The restrooms were well managed, and the airport even has a museum!
Junhyun K — Google review
💚 Attractive airport with fun displays. Pleasant environment to spend some time. 💚 Simple, spoke and wheel layout is easy to follow. 💚 IMO, good selection of restaurants. 💚 Large, clean restrooms. 💚 The best—and most advanced—water bottle filling stations I’ve seen to date. ⛔️ The trains connecting terminals are landside only. (Pedestrian connections are available airside, though.)
Troy W — Google review
It’s a nice airport with plenty of concessions and gift shops to visit. We had a layover here but our plane was delayed causing us to miss the next flight. We stayed here almost seven hours to have lunch, drinks, and plenty of snacks.
Doua M — Google review
Confusing and poorly documented. Good luck finding your way around without a map or asking for directions. Good coffee robots though, would like to see the whole place working like a machine. You'd expect a tech hub to be more explicit with its markings.
