Sonoma Plaza is one of those rare places that feels both lively and peaceful at the same time. Surrounded by historic architecture, boutique shops, and incredible restaurants, it’s the perfect place to stroll, relax, and soak in the charm of wine country. The park at the center is beautifully maintained — great for families, couples, or just sitting with a coffee and watching the world go by. Whether you’re into wine tasting, art galleries, or simply enjoying a scenic afternoon, Sonoma Plaza is a must stop. There’s a timeless quality to the place that makes you want to linger. Highly recommended for both first-time visitors and locals rediscovering its magic.

Beautiful landscaped square with many shops and restaurants around it. Tuesday was market day with food stalls, local sellers and live music. Many people brought their own outdoor set up and picnic. Nice atmosphere
Peter D — Google review
We have always loved coming here and through the years it has never changed. Boutique hotels, great wine and amazing food. It is great for a couples getaway and lots to do with kids also. The square is something you need to see. It is also rated in the top 10 Fourth of July fireworks displays in the country. We went last year and it was unbelievable.
David N — Google review
Lots of spots to tuck into, shops, eateries, ice cream, wine tastings, liquor tastings and more. Very walkable. Sweet little square/park in the center. Lots of parking (3 hrs).
L T — Google review
The people at the visitors center are wonderful! They help with maps of the area, restaurant suggestions, and any historical questions of Sonoma that you might have. The center is beautiful. Roses everywhere along with ducks!
Joanne B — Google review
Great downtown area, very walkable with a unique variety of shops, restaurants and tasting rooms. Spent much more time in this concentrated area than anticipated. Great people, great experiences, great time.
Sonja G — Google review
This is such a nice place. I'm returning in two weeks. Places to stay like the Eldorado, where I stay and lots of restaurants and shops to keep you busy and the beautiful Sonoma square to enjoy

Jacuzzi Family Vineyards

Mentioned on

Food & Drink
Jacuzzi Family Vineyards is a picturesque estate located in the Los Carneros and Sonoma Coast wine regions of California. The vineyard is known for preserving lesser-known Italian grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Barbera, and Nebbiolo. Established by the Jacuzzi family, the estate offers wine tastings on a veranda with stunning vineyard views and features a Tuscan-inspired courtyard. Visitors can also explore The Olive Press tasting room to discover highly acclaimed extra virgin olive oils.
A wonderful family-owned winery that also features an olive oil shop offering tastings alongside wine flights. The quality and pricing are truly outstanding. The tasting room is beautifully designed, with plenty of space and snack options to enjoy alongside your wine. We sampled the full selection of whites and reds and shared a charcuterie board with three types of cheeses, spiced almonds, and olives. They also serve bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar—absolutely delicious and a perfect pairing. The olive oil shop is impressive, with a wide variety of oils and vinegars. It was hard to choose because everything we tasted was excellent, but we eventually went with a few classic favorites. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. If you love wine, olive oil, and Mediterranean flavors, this spot delivers it all—at very reasonable prices. A must-visit!
Yagmur T — Google review
Absolutely beautiful building and proiperty with mediocre wine and service. We came earlier in the day and thoroughly enjoyed an olive oil tasting at their “Pressed” location so we expected similar service here, but it fell short. The wines were decent, we bought a case, but there were only 2 we liked enough to buy. The guy who did our tasting seemed disconnected from us, though he tried to be pleasant. Overall, we weren’t impressed.
F'burg F — Google review
We visited this winery on a Wednesday and were able to walk in for a wine tasting without a reservation. Our server was very knowledgeable and gave us information on each wine, where the grapes grew, and other interesting facts about the family. We ordered a charcuterie board and also sampled the olive oils in their olive oil shop. We stayed in Sausalito and were able to get here in about 45 minutes.
Nicole A — Google review
Beautiful place to spend an afternoon tasting wines. We found the place while driving and were not disappointed. They have gorgeous outdoor seating where we enjoyed their wine looking out the vast field of the vineyard. Their food menu is not extensive yet the choices will fill you up. We ended up ordering pizza with bruschetta. We were a group of 4 so we tried their white & red wine. The prices were reasonable for a bottle and the wines were really good. You can bring kids but i would recommend making an adult trip to this place.
Neha S — Google review
We had a great experience at the bar with the bartenders Sam and Tim, after taking a look in the shop there and trying some pretty spectacular olive oils and balsamics. I bought a 6 pack that I put together with my favorites and just know I will be bummed when I run out, being from Chicago will make it hard to just go and stock up again but wow their carmalized onion balsamic is beyond words. I ended up joining the wine club because of how amazing the service and wine was. The chocolate wine shot was fun. The wine is poured directly into a piece of chocolate. Beautiful property and A++ would recommend.
Samantha P — Google review
Beautiful building and property! Service was excellent! Thank you Lauren for a fantastic wine tasting and Genevieve for an exquisite olive oil and vinegar tasting. This was definitely our favorite stop!
Christy G — Google review
We had a great wine tasting experience here on the upper patio overlooking the property… It was gorgeous! The wines were all excellent, and the charcuterie was brought out very quickly and hit the spot. Overall, a great experience.
Tracy K — Google review
Beautiful winery with amazing views! We were visiting from out of town & there are so many wineries to choose from but this one stood out and I’m glad we chose it! We had an amazing time and the wines are fantastic!!

Cline Family Cellars

Mentioned on

Winery
Food & Drink
Cline Family Cellars, located in the Carneros AVA of Sonoma Valley, is renowned for its sustainable farming practices. The vineyard employs a large herd of sheep and goats to maintain the vineyards while also utilizing composting, cover crops, and solar energy. Visitors can meet the two miniature donkeys that reside on the property.
A very lovely place to taste some great wines and enjoy a day. They got their start in Contra Costa County in the 80s squeezing some fantastic wines out of 100-year-old vines. Beautiful grounds - can be breezy, bring a jacket - and very inviting outdoor seating. Ask for Quinnie if you can - wonderful, knowledgeable, very personable, she'll make your afternoon. Keep your eyes open around the grounds and you might even catch a bit of California history. We immediately signed up for their wine club and will certainly be back.
Vince G — Google review
We came to Cline Family Cellars on a Monday during vacation with our kids — and came back again on Tuesday because it was that good. The wines are beautifully crafted, and we especially loved tasting Cline’s “Shifting Tides” — elegant, smooth, and full of character. But this place is so much more than just wine. The grounds are open and peaceful, with so much to explore. There’s an original vintage train car, several ponds filled with fish you can feed, donkeys and plenty of open space. It’s crazy how relaxing and beautiful it can be — even with kids in tow. They were entertained and welcomed, and we had real time to enjoy ourselves. When we shared a personal story with a staff member, the owner came out to meet us. Their warmth, curiosity, and incredible generosity were beyond anything we’ve experienced at any winery, ever. We left with great wine and even better memories. Cline is a place we’ll return to again — and tell others about. Special thanks to Emma and Quinnie.
Yelena B — Google review
We dropped in unannounced but still treated to an amazing tasting. Wine was fabulous! The grounds were amazing from the mission, to the pond to the donkeys! Loved it all!!
Becky S — Google review
What a beautiful garden and pond! Loved walking the grounds. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and our host Emma had a great sense of humor and immense wine knowledge. Enjoyed the classic Sonoma flight, although the Chardonnay was the winner in our group! Very kid friendly and pet friendly!
Victoria S — Google review
Came down for a small trip for our 10yr anniversary, Jerry was amazing we loved him and loved how family friendly and beautiful the winery is! My daughter really enjoyed feeding the fish, we left with two bottles, can’t wait to come back!
Dinelia H — Google review
4 stars for our awesome server & the beautiful outdoor area. Wines were ok nothing that we wanted to buy a bottle of. Kids are allowed outside (not sure about inside) so if you don't mind rugrats running & screaming all around your table, sit outside and enjoy the scenery.
Joanna — Google review
Cline Cellars has a spectacularly beautiful property! It's welcoming, clean, and stunning. The staff was very friendly and our wine specialist was super knowledgeable and kind. I will happily return but also recommend this family owned oasis when you're in Sonoma!
Tabnie D — Google review
Sitting in the Adirondack chairs next to the pond here with a glass of wine was so beautiful and happy. Joi made our experience special with a complimentary top off and genuinely friendly service. We’ll be back!

Wineries & Vineyards
Buena Vista Winery, established in 1857, is the oldest commercial winery in California. The winery offers tastings and tours throughout the year, including exclusive barrel tastings and visits to an on-site wine museum that delves into the history of winemaking and the vineyard's founder. Visitors can also enjoy wine blending experiences, picnics on the scenic grounds, and guided tours at nearby wineries.
If you’ve never been here, you should come check it out and try their wine while you’re there! The place is historic and beautiful… Lots of amazing architecture and great folks to explain it. Our tasting was really nice too, their wines were really good. Plenty of nice, shaded places to sit & sip outside, but also places inside. If you’re able, go into the large building at the end of the circular patio, past the fountain and check out the caves! I’d highly recommend visiting Buena Vista Vineyards!
F'burg F — Google review
If you are looking to get away… this is the place to unwind and reset everything in your day to day routine. An amazing winery that dates back to 1800 year. You will love the ambiance, the paradise look and like spot to sip your wine. And service is also great. See for yourself and and you might even fall in love with this winery
Joyce R — Google review
We had a wonderful experience at Buena Vista Winery! The wines were excellent, and our tasting with Mili Franceschi made it even more enjoyable. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and explained what we needed to know about the wines. We felt very well taken care of and truly enjoyed the atmosphere. It was definitely one of the highlights of our honeymoon trip. If we could, we’d come back tomorrow! And we will definitely return the next time we are in the area. Thank you, Mili, for making our visit so special!
Stefano C — Google review
Had a very peaceful experience at Bueno vista. We walked in - Don hosted us treated us to some exquisite wines. The location was calm, quiet, spacious, simply wonderful. I’d return right away if I could!
Bhavya J — Google review
Stopped in for the quintessential winery tour whole in Sanoma. We were pleasantly surprised, the count gave is an incredible experience! Learned a lot, truly discovered what makes a great whine, and really enjoyed the tour. I discovered the the type of whine doesn't necessarily imply what it'll taste like, it only describes the type of grapes and it area the grapes come from.
Patrick D — Google review
We visited Buena Vista and had a free complimentary tasting thanks to my husband who is in the military. The place is cozy and beautiful. Wine is amazing and definitely will recommend to pair it with some chocolates. Looking forward next time do the sparkling wine tastings.
Honduran F — Google review
Neat winery tour which takes you across some beautiful grounds. I can't say I appreciated the hard sell on a wine club at the end of the tour, but I understand that's pretty typical for the area. Buena Vista Winery was a fun stop but I can't say I need to come back next time I'm in wine country.
Jeremy Y — Google review
Brandon gave a great tour. It was very informative and fun. Thw grounds are beautiful. We even sampled a wine right from the barrel. The oldest winery in sonoma....definitely worth a visit.

Gundlach Bundschu Winery

Located just outside Sonoma, Gundlach Bundschu Winery, affectionately known as "GunBun," is California's oldest family-owned winery. The estate, originally called Rhinefarm, has been producing grapes since 1858 and offers a variety of experiences including cave tours, outdoor concerts, and Pinzgauer army vehicle excursions. The winery boasts an impressive lineup of wines including their popular Gewurztraminer and Merlot.
Good prices and very good view. Perhaps not the most special views, but very nice Nice service. Food menu is quite slim, only cheese, crackers and salami. However the overall feeling was very good - thus the 5 star review. The wine was tasty and left a good feeling.
AZ — Google review
Gundlach Bundschu Winery is a beautiful spot to spend an afternoon. The property is expansive with plenty of space to wander and a chill outdoor seating setup that makes it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The staff were laid back and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere without any pressure. During the tasting, the Cabernet and the Gewürztraminer stood out as my favorites, both full of character and flavor. It is the kind of place where you can take your time, sip great wine, and enjoy the scenery. Five stars for the setting, service, and wine.
Peter F — Google review
Good, not grape. A lovely spot to unwind with stunning views, but the $50 tasting felt a bit steep for what hit the glass. Still, a pleasant visit overall—and according to our designated driver, the water alone was a 5/5 experience. Hydration never tasted so good.
Zachary B — Google review
Fabulous cellar tour and tasting. Jamie was so knowledgeable and taught us a ton about the history of the wine and how it’s made. The tour included many different types of wine. I fully recommend.
Elena E — Google review
What a great time!!! Robert gave a fantastic tour. We visited the caves as well as walked into the fields sampling different wines along the way. We even tried a few grapes from the vines. Definitely worth a visit!!! So happy we visited this incredible winery.
Keith J — Google review
We loved our visit to Gundlach Bundschu. We came late (around 4:45 pm). We were not able to do the tasting but we were able to buy wine by the glass, which is what we really wanted. Sandra was amazing, explaining not only the wines but also the amazing history of the winery. We picked the Pinot Noir and Cab Sav, which we really enjoyed.
Abigail B — Google review
We had such a wonderful experience! Our Pinz Excursion guide, Jamie, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable — he made the entire tour so informative and engaging. Loved learning about the regenerative farm and family history. The setting was absolutely beautiful, and the wine was truly exceptional. The Gewurztraminer and Pinot were delicious. We’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommend the Pinz!!
Maddie — Google review
Incredibly picturesque grounds, buildings, gardens, rolling hills with tasting tables! Absolutely lovely. As I understand it they're the second oldest winery in Sonoma and obviously have a lot of pride in what they do. There is a private wine club called Bacchus, and for my palate, it appears the wines I would want most are available to club members. Rose is delicious, but I'm more of a Cabernet Sauvignon person, and I found them to be delicious but a bit soft. I need a little bit more of a fruit forward bite in the finish. For $80 you can do the cave experience which is private tour underground and full flight tastings, and if you want to sit in the outside covered area, that requires reservations but also provides access to top tier wines. It's a lovely place for you, especially to come with friends and to sit and drink and talk and just be.

This winery not only offers an impressive selection of expertly crafted sparkling wines but also pairs them with culinary delights that are sure to tantalize your palate. Had an Amazing trip to Napa Valley and Sonoma Wine Country last weekend. Absolutely loved Gloria Ferrer Winery. It was one of the only place that take walk-ins without any reservations. The staff was very welcoming particularly Dominic, who greeted us and reccomended some great wines. Also, Frisco was nice and helpful. The views are beautiful as well. Definitely one of the best vineyards I've been too.

What a glorious winery!! 🍷 Their wines are perfectly complex, balanced, and delightfully scrumptious. Their olive oil and food offerings are wonderful as well. All enjoyed in the most beautiful geographical setting imaginable. Every staff member was friendly, engaging, and thoroughly enjoyable to visit with, as well as knowledgeable about their vineyards, grapes, wines, and history. 300 enchanting acres of the best wine & food experience you’ll find.
Ren D — Google review
This was a fantastic experience! First off, the view is absolutely beautiful and the lounge area we were seated was comfortable, sunny, and had a great vibe. All of the wines we tasted were wonderful and i would love to have again. Kenny G was the one helping us out and he was very knowledgeable, helpful, and overall a great host. His passion and love for the wines was evident. He gave us generous pours and even offered us more if our hearts desired. We ordered some tapas and it surprised me how high quality they were. I'm usually underwhelmed with the food at wineries but not here. We got the olives, pistachios, garlic mushrooms, patatas bravas, shrimp, duck leg confit, and the dessert platter. The olives were some of my favorite that i've had and the duck leg confit was so flavorful and cooked to perfection! The dessert platter was the perfect way to end the tasting and really went well with the wines. Our whole group agreed at the end of our trip that this was our favorite of the wineries we visited. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this experience!

What a real experience. The winery has so much history, wines are incredibly high quality and food is at Michelin star level. Top top top!!!

A Sparkling Sonata in Sonoma Let me set the scene: It’s a June morning. Not just any morning. A crisp, sun-kissed, California morning, and the kind Texans write country songs about because we can only dream of being outside this time of year without melting like a sno-cone in a sauna. We had 11:00 AM reservations for the Taste of Carneros experience at Gloria Ferrer, California’s most awarded sparkling winery and folks, the award shelf must be sagging under the weight of excellence. When we arrived, our table was already staged like a magazine spread: glasses twinkling, menus placed with precision, and views that could silence a room. My adoring sidekick: refined, radiant, and ever-so-prepared for bubbly, was already in her element. As I adjusted my chair to soak in the panoramic perfection of rolling vineyards and olive trees swaying like old souls, she was mid-sip, eyes closed, communing with the first pour. The sparkling wines? Ethereal. Each one whispered something different to the senses: crisp orchard fruit, warm brioche, a flirtatious hint of citrus, and all pulled from the estate like liquid gold. This wasn’t a tasting. It was a symphony, and we had front-row seats. We added Spanish tapas to the mix because, let’s be honest, bubbles demand a supporting cast. The Charcuterie Board: A rustic dream. Manchego, almonds, salami, dried fruit, crackers, and yes, the caper berries, plump as grapes and twice as sassy. The Marinated Olives: These weren’t the olives pressed for their estate olive oil, but a separate batch served up with bold, briny flair. While I maintain my lifelong diplomatic distance from olives, my sidekick declared them “sensational,” and I respect her palate as much as I respect her judgment in husbands. The Empanada: Flaky, golden, and filled with something that made my taste buds do a double-take. A savory masterpiece with a side of greens for moral support. Our wine guide, Ava, was the human equivalent of a great toast—elegant, warm, celebratory, and perfectly timed. Her knowledge flowed freely, her stories were engaging, and her hospitality sealed the deal. She elevated an already magical experience. The interior spaces? Picture a Restoration Hardware catalog crossed with a Sonoma dream—open, modern, and inviting. Even the vine sculpture on the wall seemed to lift its arms and say, “You belong here.” Outside, we explored more seating areas, including some modern Adirondack chairs that looked like they belonged on the cover of Architectural Digest: Vineyard Edition. And the views, dear Lord, the views. We stood together overlooking those vines, taking a photo not just to capture the moment but to testify: we were here, and it was glorious. As we wrapped up, my wife lingered with one last glass of her favorite pour, like a perfectly placed encore before the curtain closed on a flawless performance. We didn’t just enjoy the experience. We absorbed it. TL;DR: Gloria Ferrer is the Beyoncé of bubbles. Sparkling wine that sings, tapas that thrill, and views that steal your breath. Impeccable service, stunning surroundings, and a patio made for Texas escapees. Come for the wine. Stay for the soul-realignment. Already planning our return.

10/10 recommend this winery! The brunch and tasting were our favorite visit during our entire three day trip to Napa and Sonoma. They give you five star treatment and the wines are simply superb! Kenny G was by far the best wine educator and host. He recognized what we liked and made suggestions that fit our palate and lifestyle. Can’t wait to go back again and are looking forward to receiving all of the divine bottles we are having shipped home. :) 🥂

Beautiful grounds. Very Tuscan vibe. Played Italian music which was very nice. Did a wine tasting. Took about 15 minutes to get served our first glass from our hostess which was bit long to sit there. She was delightful, very nice and knowledgeable. We ended up buying a few more bottles. Was such a beautiful day. We walked around the grounds which were stunning.

It was our first time at Viansa and we had a wonderful time. The winery was beautiful and the wine itself was great as well. We got the wine flight with the charcuterie board. Our server’s name was Thomas and he was very knowledgeable about the wines and was also easy going and fun to talk to. The entire staff was great, very polite and professional but also fun. We will definitely be back, 10/10 recommend. Thank you again Thomas!

Beautiful winery and vineyard with an amazing view. We had a lovely tasting with Adrian on the back porch that was both fun and informative. They have a large assortment of wines which makes it easy to fine one to please both white and red lovers. Although we didn’t have a chance to try all their meats and cheeses they had an impressive assortment.

Jamaal was a fabulous and knowledgeable server. Viansa was my first stop in CA wine country and I’m so glad because it set my bar high! Incredible views and delicious wines. Purchased a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to take home. Hope I am able to make it back out to Sonoma soon and come again.

The winery has been producing exceptional wines for over a century, focusing on single-vineyard and sub-appellation wines while practicing sustainable farming. Its downtown location boasts an impressive 80-foot tasting room bar and captivating Tuscan architecture.
We had a lovely evening enjoying wine outside by the fountain. The buildings and grounds are beautiful. They make excellent wine.

The Malbec is amazing, but Juan was even better! Very personable. He educated us about the wine in a fun and relatable way but. If you are looking for a fun vibe with great wine, ask for Juan! The courtyard is beautiful! Lots of beautiful shade trees and a relaxing fountain. It’s a walkable distance from the plaza, so it’s quiet area. I would highly suggest walking so you can see the beautiful architecture along the way.

Juan and Lynn did a great job. Juan was great educating us on the grapes, how weather and smoke affect the grapes and the wines themselves. Also great ideas on food parings. He also introduced us to their black cherry blocked. 2016 was wonderful! Lynn was great, educating us on the wines and parings as well. She introduced us to their 2020 Merlot which was quite lovely. Thank you both!!!

Lovely edge of town setting for this historic winery. Lovely tasting room and exhibits and of course some great wines. Last tastings at 4pm. Wine can be purchased by the glass/bottle. Closes at 5. Nice out door seating area and free parking on site

Recently visited the Sebastiani tasting room in Sonoma for the third time. I think the first time was 1992 (honeymoon) and 2002-ish (10 yr anniversary). Now we're 32 years into this adventure and spent better part of a morning there after breakfast. Service was fantastic, wines are excellent and the facility and woodwork are as beautiful as ever. We bought a case and a special bottle of their 1992 Cherryblock for a future celebration. It's walking distance off the square and well worth a visit, as walk-ins are welcome.

One of the oldest wineries in Sonoma which has that captivating historical feel and is certainly one of the most important destinations for tourists to immerse yourself into the history of Sonoma County’s winemaking culture.

Nicholson Ranch LLC

Winery
Food & Drink
Nicholson Ranch LLC is a sustainable winery located on the border of Napa, offering tours of its vineyards, winemaking facilities, and caves. The tasting room provides an array of meats, cheeses, crackers, and spreads to complement their wines. Visitors can relax at picnic tables with shade umbrellas or spread out a blanket on the lawn. Owner and winemaker Deepak Gulrajani takes pride in creating wines in an ideal environment.
Nicholson Ranch is a winery slightly “off the beaten” pass as you’re coming or going from Sonoma to Napa that offers Chardonnay and Pinot noir grown on their estate. Their Cabernet, which is source from Napa and is labeled under the name of the new owner. The tasting flight consists of five wine and is $50. If you buy four bottles or more they wave for tasting fee. The flight includes one Chardonnay, two Pinot Noirs,, a red blend and a Cabernet. The pinots are a bit earthy, musty, and cost around $95/bottle. These are not baby Cabernets. These are very European “Old world” style red wine. The estate is beautiful. There is a Greek church up on the hilltop built by the Nicholson family a while they own some of the land they sold of the winery. The tasting room is beautiful with a big window overlooking the hilltop and they actually play music that gives you the right ambience to just relaxing and enjoy the wine. Mike is a fantastic host and runs a fun and very educational enjoyable wine like podcast.

We thought it was quite good. The view is lovely, Mike is friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine and the estate (much more so than we were). All five of the wines were very tasty we thought and we were in fact served a few extra sips. We met the owner who in fact seemed to be quite interested in wine and also seemed to know what he was doing. We don't have very bougie taste but we left with a bottle of the Chardonnay and I think we'll be back. All the staff seem to be very friendly to us. I rather liked it.

What an amazing experience at this beautiful family‑owned winery! Our server, Jesse, was fantastic friendly, knowledgeable, and made our tasting so enjoyable. We also met Diepak, the owner, who is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet he personally stopped by to be sure we were well taken care of. The whole place is spotless and has such a warm, welcoming vibe. You can feel the care and love that goes into every detail here.
Simone K — Google review
The estate is stunning and captures the quintessential landscaping and architecture of a premier Northern California winery. The selection is extensive, though pricing runs high—a single glass costs approximately what three bottles would at a discount retailer. They have great wines as well! While the winery's reputation suggests exceptional quality, the flavor profiles were unexpectedly muted and lacked the complexity one might anticipate from their level of experience. The experience reflected a common Napa Valley tendency where attention seems calibrated to the guest's perceived sophistication or spending potential, which detracted from an otherwise promising visit.

It worth every minute. Amazing Winery. Kind people. The building walls, in the last week of July when I got there were, were matching with the hills. Exactly the same color. And then Even the Chardonnay color seems to be part of the nature-men show. Really good esthetics taste. It has been 21 years since the law gave the permit to sell directly to the consumer and they did 21 years of history this year. And wish that the majority celebration come with wine!

We had such a relaxing and inspiring time spending our day at Nicholson. The wine is thoughtfully and crafted good in every way. Don’t miss their chardonnay or their Pinot. All their wine is very approachable but not pretentious. The ambience and views are relaxing at every corner. Mark the wine sommelier is a true craftsman at the helm. The pristine landscaping that is subtle with the needle grass caressing the bay breeze. We stumbled upon this property and the vintner welcomed us in with a smile and a pour. We left with smiles and will definitely be back soon. Don’t miss this vineyard if you do you’re missing out on life’s gifts. Ask for Mark and you will get not only a gentleman but a scholar of not only wine but all that California has to offer. Cheers

Gorgeous location, had an intimate tasting experience with the owner of the winery, and the wines were phenomenal. Highly recommend and walk ins are accepted.

This is our favorite spot in Sonoma. We live on the east coast and visit every fall. Of course we are part of the wine club! Not only is their wine fantastic but they also go above and beyond in showing hospitality. It’s special here. This is a small, family run winery. Deepak (owner, winemaker) is always there to say hello and chat and makes you feel so welcome. On this most recent trip, our friends who were also visiting CA joined us for a first time visit to Nicholson Ranch, and Jessi knocked it out of the park. She provided a lovely educational tasting experience and cave tour which included both Nicholson and Gulrajani wines, followed by some ‘heavy snacks’ (try the burrata with pistachio, it was amazing) … oh… and a lot of laughs. A great time was had by all. We will always come back.

Larson Family Winery is a charming family-owned winery that started when the Larson family decided to share their surplus of wine with others. Their selection includes a variety of white and red wines, as well as non-wine products. The Gewurztraminer Dolce is highly recommended. Visitors can enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere, complete with blankets and heaters for chilly days, spacious grounds, and a family-friendly environment where even dogs are welcome.
Great family friend winery. I really liked the sparkling rose and the pickup parties for members to pick up their wine.

Larson Winery, our server Hayden P. & their entire team made our afternoon on their grounds unforgettable. The wine (specifically the Albarino & Meritage) was delicious. Learned a lot on the tour. The games & entertainment were nice to have as well for the families. We will be back!

What a beautiful place to spend a day with family. We picked this place while driving by and were happy to bring kids along. They had a pumpkin patch in the back for kids to enjoy, a green space with games, a sand box and space for adults to enjoy wine while over looking the vineyard. The service was good and our server made good recommendation of wine and food. The best part was their family dog who was so friendly with the kids and was making rounds all around the property. You can bring your dog as well and let them enjoy the space.

They have the comfy, authentic feel down. Not a bit pretentious, just some people that like wine. The tasting area has all the makings for a fantastic afternoon. Games, a variety of seatings, sports if you’d like, and wine. Really good wine! They have a great selection of reds and an equally impressive selection of whites. The new Malbec is really good and the different cab varieties touch many notes. They have a bubbly rosé which was very good. I will enjoy the bottles I brought home and look forward to the next visit.

We visited Larson with a large party of 9 (and 3 dogs) on a Sunday and had a great experience! The flights had a nice variety and mix of varietals from Chardonnay to a very tasty Three Lab Cab. Brian was an amazing host and we were able to get a very informative tour through the barreling and bottling process, as well as access to the vineyards. Definitely recommend visiting Larson. Not to mention they are super dog friendly!

Visited a total of 7 wineries during our trip to Sonoma and the BEST time at Larson Family Winery. It was such a unique experience here compared to other wineries. We were able to tour the vines, taste wine right out of a barrel, and a tank, and compare them to finished product. Brian was our guide, make sure to ask for him if you go! He was a pro at dealing with our group of 6 women :) Thank you so much for hosting us!

The Girl & the Fig is a charming bistro that offers inventive French country cuisine and an impressive selection of fine wines. Located in a historically landmarked building, it provides a farm-to-table dining experience with an outdoor patio for guests to enjoy. The menu features French-leaning dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, complemented by a wine list filled with Rhone varietals from both local and global vineyards. Additionally, the bar serves seasonal cocktails and drinks featuring French ingredients.
Came in on a sunday at 7:30pm, reserved online. Note a cancellation fee per person if done on short notice. No problems with parking at a nearby free street parking. Food was fantastic, we ordered: Appetizers: Fried green tomatoes, Potato soup, Smoked Salmon, & Duck liver mousse Mains: Duck confit, Steak au poivre, Wild flounder meuniere Dessert: Profiteroles, Creme brulee Each one was lovely! Service was top notch, Olivia was endearing but also very informative. Plates were reset for each section and care was given as needed. Atmosphere was great, overall design was cozy and the heaters were just right for the chilly evening even if we were outside. Excellent places for groups of 2-4

I made a reservation on OpenTable but arrived 30 minutes late, so our table was no longer available. Luckily, we were able to sit at the bar, which turned out to be a great experience. The bartender was incredibly kind and welcoming—she walked us through the menu and offered thoughtful recommendations. We started with two glasses of wine, a mocktail, duck mousse, and sourdough bread with butter and salt to share. For entrées, we ordered the duck confit, the bone-in schnitzel, and a French omelette. The schnitzel is an absolute must—an impressive, thick-cut pork chop that was perfectly crunchy with a flavorful sauce on top. The duck confit was tender and well-prepared, while the French omelette was delicately presented with ham folded inside. To finish, we shared the warm cookie with a milkshake, which was the perfect ending to the meal. The food was delicious across the board, and the lively, bustling atmosphere made the lunch even better. I would definitely come back!

On our 33 Sister week in Sonoma CA we had an awesome meal here. Fried green tomatoes, Smoked Trout, Olives, Mussels, cheese board, scallops, schnitzel, Steak tartar, Risotto. All fantastic. Rich flavors. Our server Liberty was attentive, friendly, always smiling and accommodating our one vegan sister. Wish we could stay and come back. Highly recommended.

We stopped into The Girl & The Fig in downtown Sonoma, and what a charming little spot it was! It has that cozy, slightly old-fashioned French bistro feel — the kind of place that instantly makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the cheese plate, which was perfectly curated and paired beautifully with a glass of wine. My friend ordered the tomato risotto — phenomenal, rich, and comforting without being heavy. I had the fish, and it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and relaxed in the best way. You could tell the staff really enjoys what they do. We didn’t have a reservation but lucked out with two seats at the bar (which turned out to be the best view in the house). That said, definitely make a reservation if you’re planning to go — this place fills up fast, and for good reason. Overall, it’s a wonderful little French gem in the heart of Sonoma — quaint, delicious, and full of charm. Highly recommend!

What a beautiful little spot! the girl & the dog easily is a top choice for any occasion. I came here to celebrate my birthday with a group of 8 of us and our experience was wonderful. Our server was attentive, the food and drinks came out promptly, and everything tasted spectacular! I would recommend putting in a reservation as this place can be quite popular and in high demand.

Maybe we came on an off Sunday, but I wasn't especially impressed by what we received at the girl & the fig. Service was well above average and helpful, but I found the menu to be pretty standard new american fare and uninteresting. The appetizers we received were perfectly okay but my burger was perhaps the wettest burger I've ever received and collapsed in on itself. Next time I'm in the area, I personally would not come back.

Really good dinner spot in the heart of Sonoma’s main square. We ordered the steak tartare which was excellent - highly recommend. We also ordered the fig & goat cheese salad and the butter nut squash risotto - both were excellent too, we were just too full to finish the dishes. Would strongly recommend making a reservation here if / when you’re in town, and if you can, eats outside with the heat lamps. Shoutout to Willie (spelling?) for being an amazing server

I just returned from a two week road trip throughout beautiful California. One of the highlights of our trip was dining at The Girl & the Fig with Seth as our epicurean guide. He pointed us to the scallops and duck confit and perfectly paired everything! The pear dessert was fabulous! I’m so glad we went. This place is a gem! I loved the art work everywhere and themes in each room. It was a wonderful experience.

Chef Jeffrey Lloyd takes pride in using organic and local ingredients to create unique dishes that highlight the flavors of Sonoma County.
My husband I were visiting Napa and Sonoma for our birthdays. Through a bit of research, I found Cafe La Haye. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to dine here. I had the risotto and added several shrimp. My husband had the bolognese. Both were outstanding. A Happy Birthday butterscotch pudding and a apple fruit crisp capped the evening. The service matched the food and the whole experience, really, it was great!

Great staff, very detailed oriented and attentive yet not pushy. Always ready to help us. Location is great, in downtown Sonoma which was a plus for us since we are able to walk back to our hotel. Food I had mix feelings about it. It was tasty but it did not hit the wow factor for us. Excellent taste but something was missing. Portions were on the smaller size. Appetizers definitely not shareable.

We had an excellent dining experience at Cafe La Haye. Our waitress, Gabriela was wonderful. She was so friendly, attentive and checked in with us through out our dinner to see if we needed anything, and to make sure were happy with our dishes. It was our first time there, and her recommendations on what to order were spot on! Kasa also took care of us through out the evening. Kasa was meticulous when it came to ensuring the table setting and our food presentation were perfect. He was also so pleasant to talk to. And, the food was excellent!!! We had Butter Lettuce Salad, Braised Short Ribs in Puff Pastry, Risotto with Prawns, and Fresh Tagliarini Pasta. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. The entire staff was so pleasant and we got meet and talk to the Chef before we left. We highly recommend Cafe La Haye for an excellent dining experience. We will definitely go back.

A very very solid place in Sonoma - come for the food. We ordered the specials - an amazing beet salad and sole, both of which were light and flavorful. We rounded out the meal with a tiramisu that was equally fresh and light. You can’t go wrong with a dinner here. Forgot to take all the photos because the food looked so good!

Just amazing!!!! Service was impeccable food clean and to die for. Expensive dinner but completely worth every penny. We both ordered the salmon which just flaked away and was perfect parings with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Wine was so-so though it didn’t make a difference. Will be back on all those special occasions.

So close to a 5 star… service was lacking a bit and the Chicken was dry. The Mushroom Risotto with prawns, amazing!! Great wine, beer and liquor selections. Oysters were legit and great atmosphere. Open kitchen concept is always great to watch. Y’all should check this place out.

My wife booked this and my only question was, what is Californian restaurant mean? Well the answer to that question was answered by the food, it doesn’t matter. We were seated promptly and even greated with a nice little card to start off as it was our anniversary. We started off with some prosecco and got starters you have to get the burrata with that huckleberry marmalade and hit of garlic cloves. Still dreaming about it. We had that with their mixed green salad that was set off by the wonderful hit of goat cheese. For main course my wife had what had to be the best scallops we ever cream sauce. I went in on the paella that came with shrimp, calamari, mussels and chorizo and the rice that was all perfectly seasoned and portioned. To top it all we finished off with a crème brûlée and the entire course with a fabulous County Lin Pinot noir. Man all the food came out on time in order and to please. The staff just as equally great and pleasant as the food. Mario was our waiter and the star of the night, even pairing perfectly our desert to the wine we were drinking.

Great spot for lunch! A little indulgence and a lot of great food. We started with an item not even on the menu - some fried paella balls. We overheard a local order them and had the great fortune to also get a couple. Secret menu!! Oyster starter was great. Perfect salinity. Tender with all of the right accompaniments. The shrimp ravioli were brilliant. Large, plump shrimp in a decadent sauce. Short rib was fall apart perfect. The salsa verde was a bright surprise that added an additional level to the dish. Service matches the food. Spot on. 100% would go back.

Had lunch here recently and had a great experience! All the dishes were wonderful. Ordered a toasted squash with tofu and lentil dish that was fantastic!!(peppers on the side please). Had a salad, that I split with my partner and they kindly divided it up between us. Also had the shrimp tacos that were also really good. The drinks from the bar were very good too. They have some nice patio dining but we didn’t have reservations so sat inside. I will definitely be back. It also has a nice interior.

This place was recommended to me, and now I highly recommend it as well! The mushroom salad was good with the earthy taste of the mushrooms shining through. The standout dish was undoubtedly the seafood paella – hands down the best I've had outside of Spain! The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the rice was infused with a rich, savory flavor that left me wanting more. Just had to dessert. The chocolate tart was delicious – decadent, rich, and perfectly balanced with some pecan nuts, and caramelized citrus fruit on top. Not too sweet, just pure chocolate bliss! The service was top-notch, attentive, and knowledgeable. Our server made excellent recommendations

We came to this place 2 times. We tried all the three steak options: fillet mignon, new york steak and the wagyu steak. All the steaks are really top quality. Suggesting fillet mignon though. The fries is also good; with the duck fat. In the pizzas, definitely the ricotta one. For desert, also don’t miss the cheese cake. They have also large variety of wines.

Exceptional food, service, and atmosphere. The duck wings were outstanding, the entrees (salmon and sea bass) were excellent, the warmed olives were great, and so was the truffle Mac and Cheese. The ambiance is nice. We really enjoyed our meal.

Lovely space and such attentive staff from the hostess to the bartenders and waiters. They went out of their way to suggest other wine when the orange varietal I ordered was not in stock. Made us feel welcome and relaxed. We ordered the seafood tower and bread / butter, plus a burger to share. Everything was beautiful but flavor was severely lacking so much that we didn't finish the beautiful crab dip, prawns, tartare or bread rolls. Also was disappointed with the honey butter. The honey was mild but I prefer the taste of plain butter. My favorite part of the meal was simply the perfectly chilled endive leaves and the tiny bite of sashimi.
Geri A — Google review
Had a business dinner here recently — my colleague picked it and nailed it. The space is modern, cozy, and beautifully done. We started with the spicy arugula cheese pizza — honestly one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The Caesar salad and duck fat fries were also amazing, and my salmon with spicy corn was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Dessert was next-level. The brûlée cheesecake might be the best cheesecake I’ve ever had — perfectly creamy with that caramelized top. We also tried the peanut butter chocolate dessert — delicious, but super rich, so share it if you can! Wine list was great with plenty of local options. Service started a little rushed, then slowed down, but everyone was friendly and helpful. Parking tip: easiest access is the lot near the hotel entrance/valet area. A bit pricey for a casual night, but absolutely worth it for a special evening. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

I would have thought this was a Michelin starred restaurant for the food quality and attention to detail on flavor. Service was great especially for how busy they were.

I’m honestly writing this review while sitting at the table because this is the best meal I’ve ever had. I came for lunch while on a Wine Country Tour and this simple lunch far exceeded any expectations I had. We started with the deviled eggs and the heirloom tomato salad, split the rock cod tacos, and ended with their baked berry dessert. Friendly and fast service and FRESH ingredients. The heirloom tomato salad came with burrata and it was hands down one of the best things I’ve ever ate. Simple and delicious. This is how food should be!

Sat at the bar here and had a great time watching the magic of food being made. Atmosphere and vibe is great. Service can be a little slow due to being so busy. Overall food was decent. Our appetizers were great - definitely recommend the burrata and baked oysters. The special of the day was a seafood stew, it was pretty delicious but just way salty. The shrimp tacos on the other hand were missing a hint of something that would complete the taste. My friend said the chicken sandwich was okay. Overall good experience.

Big fan of Oso! Absolutely love their happy hour, and the food is super fresh and delicious, great bartenders and servers as well!

Osso Sonoma was a surprise to me. It was delicious and I enjoyed making the effort to get there for Happy Hour. On warm evenings, Osso is definitely the place. Service was excellent! And, the small plates for appetizers were yummy! The special on Thursday evening was pad Thai and it was something I would order as an entree, so gratifying as Thai food is wonderfully made. The bread served was like pizza, yes it was that good! I wanted more. And, while I’m not a seafood or shellfish fan, the shrimp tacos were yummy. All this food was paired well with my choice of sangria. Osso does a scrupulously refreshing recipe. Just the right amount of ingredients and flavors to mix with the wine. For my next visit to Osso, I will try the blood orange margarita. Everyone at my table enjoyed their cocktails. This is definitely a place to go out with friends, especially when the warm weather beckons to enjoy the evening to twilight hours out on the town.

We stopped in, had a glass of wine and some lunch. Really great food. I had the hippie salad and it was fantastic. All the food we saw on other tables looked good as well. Great back patio, nice chic boutique type of place. Good wine selection. I would come again for sure.

Solid restaurant. It’s quite hipstery. The added price of chicken for $12 is a lot in my opinion, but they do give you a hefty serving of chicken. Their menu is minimal and it doesn’t really include details about what will be included in each dish. We had to ask about every dish we ordered. The tea was interesting. I’m convinced it’s a Horton hears a who situation and there’s a community of whos in that tea kingdom (see photo). Our service was somewhat slow but vibes were cool. Nice bathroom.

What a cool little lunch spot! They also offer brunch and dinner, but we went for lunch on a weekday as while their menu is very limited for lunch, they still had items we loved. Their special was a panko breaded chicken breast over a salad with ranch and it was really tasty. Their hippie salad is very popular, as we saw many tables (including ours) with it. The staff was friendly and the setting is quaint and nice. We sat in their outside, back patio area, it was quite large and shaded, so we were comfy. Also appears they are Michelin rated, based on the sign out front when we walked in. We’d definitely return and it’s a place that people visiting should try!

We had an outstanding lunch here. The atmosphere was great as we dined next to someone arranging fresh flower bouquets in the outdoor dining area. We had the fruit and ricotta, the quinoa and the hippie salad and they were all fresh and delicious. It was easy to get a table and the service was good. Great location in Sonoma Plaza.

Our hosts brought us here as they said it was their favorite. And I can see why. The first word that comes to mind to describe it is fresh. You look at the menu and you want one of everything, which is kind of what you do. They have small plates which lend themselves to be shared. We were lucky enough to have our hosts’ guidance on what to get. Our order: XO egg- a delicious deviled egg with some sort of meat on top. A MUST Tomato Toast: sounds lame but the show stopper of the day! It comes piled high with tomatoes on the best bread. I could have had 5 orders of it alone. Poblano dip: this was tasty and good to share. Lettuces with green goodness and seeds: decent portion, super fresh, and surprisingly satisfying Crispy rice with ginger sauce: you will order it, you will LOVE it. Goes good with any entree. Black Cod: surprisingly the best protein we had. Burst of good solid flavor. Greek lamb: not our favorite as it felt one note but not bad by any means. Usually you are in a bad place if you say you are in a valley but this Valley transports you to a better place. Not only with the food but also the service. It felt like all their employees helped us in some way. It felt like a community feel!! Go experience this place for yourself! It is on the Michelle’s Guide for a reason!

Stopped in for breakfast with a couple of friends and the food was fantastic! My partner and I shared the Bodega breakfast sandwich — easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The American breakfast was also a hit, especially the crispy potatoes. We also split the cinnamon toast, which was a generous portion, super fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly, though it seemed like they might have been a bit understaffed — three of us had to get our drinks remade due to mix-ups. That said, it didn’t take away from the experience. This was hands down my favorite meal during our Sonoma getaway, and I’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic dining experience, walked in on a Sunday evening and got a couple seats at the bar. Favorites were the halibut ceviche and chocolate mousse, but everything was above expectations.

SPLENDID. Sat at the bar, and had the olives, stone fruit with ricotta, and the butter poached halibut. Delicious! Friendly staff, good vibes. Highly recommend.

LaSalette is a small and intimate Portuguese restaurant located in Sonoma, California. The chef, Manuel Azevedo, offers a modern twist on traditional Portuguese dishes, celebrating the diverse flavors of Portugal. The menu features unfamiliar yet delightful dishes such as Portuguese Fishermans Stew, Feijoada Completa from Brazil, and Bacalhau no Forno.
Impressive and authentic Portuguese food served in Sonoma! Great selection of dishes and great value and food quality too. Would recommend anyone who loves seafood to come try!

Absolutely loved this restaurant. They gave a glass of sparkling rose for our anniversary. They refreshed one of our white wines on the sampler when my husband accidentally dropped some food in it. The heirloom tomato salad was delicious. The Portuguese “pot roast” was amazing. All of the desserts are sample style so you get 3 in one. Service was excellent. Highly recommend. Only drawback is they don’t have their own bathrooms.

My wife ordered the Piri spirit chicken salad was deliciously flavored butter lettuce, chicken, avocado and bacon, and I choose the Sardines as a starter and the house salad. LaSalette is a hidden gem with parking in back. The sardines were perfectly baked, juicy and flavored by the sweet cerbolada onions. The fresh baked bread, shrimp croquet and iced tea completed a delicious authentic Portuguese lunch!

First timer! And we were both very pleasantly surprised. We are very picky about our choice of restaurants but I tip my hat to LaSalette. From the host to the bill we had an incredible time. The service was spectacular, the presentation was amazing and the food was top shelf. Fabulous meal and as amazing desserts. We jokingly said we wanted to come back the next day for dinner. And it wasn't really a joke. We highly recommend LaSaette as a must for locals and those visiting the area. A must stop on your travel plans!!! We will see you again soon!!!! Make reservations well in advance, though we were blessed with a table reservations 2 hours before we planned to eat so that worked too.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner. The meal was delicious and the wait staff was excellent. I had the Portuguese Pot Roast and my wife had the Seafood Stew. We also indulged in dessert with a delicious Port. Very satisfied and would definitely recommend.

One of my three favorites in Sonoma. As an appetizer I ordered grilled octopus which was very good. My main meal I chose Pork & Clams - Porco À Alentejana which is a Portuguese dish of a pork and clam stew, it was delicious. Service was extremely good, we ate outdoors which was very nice, atmosphere is very good, very quiet and the set up is very nice.

If you are in Sonoma and looking for something special and not the usual kind of foods, I highly recommend La Salette which serves modern takes on Portuguese dishes. We ordered the Cod Cakes for our appetizer, it was delicious! For our lunch entrees, we ordered the Spicy Piri Piri Chicken Salad and the Arroz a Valenciana dishes and both were amazing, and yes, I ate that beautiful flower on top! The service was outstanding, the ambiance was superb and the experience was memorable.

We wanted to get out of SF to enjoy some nicer weather and found ourselves enjoying a beautiful day in Sonoma. After checking out the restaurants around the main square, we decided to try La Salette, as its Portuguese menu stood out with its unique offerings and tasty options. Shortly after ordering, we were provided with a free amuse bouche from the chef, shrimp croquettes with a slightly tangy sauce and salsa brava. The shrimp croquettes were crispy, yet also light and zesty; a beautiful start to the meal. I also ordered a caipirinha, my go-to cocktail when I lived in Brazil. La Salette's caipirinha was extremely delicious, with a healthy dose of lime and mint that washed down nicely with the cachaça. For starters, we began with the grilled octopus and tomato salad. The grilled octopus was cooked perfectly and paired nicely with the red wine vinegar, fingerling potatoes, and pickled seaweed. The heirloom tomato salad was absolutely fantastic, as the tomatoes were perfectly ripe and were complemented nicely with the chickpea puree and feta cheese. This was my favorite bite of the night. For entrees, we tried the bacalhau no forno, the caldeirada, and the açorda de Trigo. My mom loved the bacalhau no forno, which was a bit lighter than she was expecting but had a great punch of flavor between the salted cod, potatoes, onions and olives. My dad and I also really enjoyed the caldeirada, which had a generous portion of sea bass, scallops, clams, mussels, potatoes, shrimp, and linguiça in a flavorful broth. This reminded me a little bit of cioppino given the copious amount of seafood, although it had more of a velvety tasting broth without the flavor of tomatoes. Finally, my partner really enjoyed the açorda de Trigo, which had a perfectly poached egg that created a velvety sauce over the farro, mushrooms, and pine nuts. For dessert, we all split the fruit plate, which was the highlight of the meal. We really loved how the dessert was more of an assortment of tasty dishes that complemented each other nicely, rather than one single dish. All of the components of the dessert were fantastic: the poached pear had a nice spiced taste, the macerated mango was super sweet and tangy, and the pineapple semifreddo was velvety and tangy. But, the passion fruit cannoli was truly unreal. The tang of the passion fruit and light crisp of the cannoli shell were incredible. Would highly recommend trying this or their other desserts, as they all looked incredible. All in all, given the fantastic restaurants in Sonoma, La Salette is a great choice if you're looking for something unique that highlights local fruit and produce, as well as meat and seafood options. We would definitely come back here the next time we're in Sonoma! EDIT: Forgot to mention that the service was incredible and very attentive. Everyone was super nice, friendly and helpful, and made sure every part of our meal was enjoyable and to our liking. Thank you!

Layla at MacArthur Place is a charming and elegant dining spot that celebrates the vibrant flavors of Sonoma with its farm-fresh, seasonal cuisine. The menu offers a mix of nourishing and indulgent options suitable for any occasion, from leisurely breakfasts to celebratory dinners. The restaurant's modern farmhouse setting provides an inviting atmosphere for guests to savor innovative dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.
Wonderful restaurant with gorgeous beautifully landscaped outdoor seating area inside a fabulous boutique resort. The food was amazing. My personal favorites was the catch of the day (halibut) and ahi tuna appetizer. The salads we tried were fabulous and the pasta was delicious! The deserts were unique and delicious and full of flavor. We will definitely be back.

This place is so close to a 5 star spot, but they cut some corners and the service was subpar. From the start the staff seemed a little confused and gave us the wrong menus, they then were not sure if they had certain items. The juices were not fresh and came in a container. We ordered the pastries to start as it seemed like a nice sampler, but they never came. Now even with all these issues the food we did get was very good. I got the chilaquiles which was delicious and had some great flavors. My wife got the breakfast burrito which was also very good. The coffee was freshly brewed and was a nice roast. The atmosphere itself is very nice and has some great natural light. The restaurant is in a higher end resort and has a great little bar in the same common area. Overall a great spot to try.

We had an incredible time at Layla! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and the staff was friendly, kind, and attentive. We were celebrating my mom's birthday and they went above and beyond to make her feel special. The prices were also incredibly reasonable for the quality of food we received. The only reason for 4 stars is that service was fairly laidback and slow. It took about 30 minutes to get our check and we were late to where we needed to be. We definitely could've asked for the check mid-way through our meal as we knew we were on a timeline, but we would've appreciated faster service at that point. Overall our experience was amazing and the property is peaceful and beautiful - the perfect spot for an enjoyable breakfast or brunch!

We dined here on a late Sunday night, got lucky to be seated and served even after they closed. I ordered the lemon ricotta and spinach ravioli. The flavor was delicious, if only the mushroom were left from the equation (in my opinion of course) the combination while different and unique, was overwhelming and I felt the ravioli had enough going on and would have rated it 10/10 if not paired this way. I also had a salad with feta and apricot which was the perfect anti pasto. Here is a photo and mocktail that I couldn’t finish

Layla is an elegant casual restaurant in an elegant little hotel. I had the Wagyu Steak Frites and it was one of the best I’ve had. Their fries were also the beat fries I’ve had in a long while. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, but I’d recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice to get the full experience of the hotel as a whole.
Ziad A — Google review
Breakfast here was excellent. We ordered the breakfast burrito and their breakfast plate (eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, toast etc). Some of the crispiest hashbrowns I’ve ever had, and the burrito filled us up for the entire day. There also free refills on coffee! Only ate here for breakfast, but we imagine the lunch and dinner is equally as good
Marc G — Google review
The restaurant is located at the back of an upscale hotel, so you'll walk past a beautiful lobby and a fancy bar. I love the healthy brunch options filled with a a few types of vegetables. Our poached eggs was perfectly cooked. Smoked salmon was tasty. The cube hashbrown is an interesting touch. Our dessert was decent. They also offer some unique wellness smoothies. One latte was served properly, while the other was served spilled. They taste good though. All the staff were friendly. The interior and cutlery are quite aesthetic, although our table had a few damaged spots. Our indoor seating had plenty of sunlight with nice view. Outdoor seating seems like a nice spot on a good day as well. The toilet is very clean, and very nice. The hand towel is a great effort for eco-friendly approach. Valet parking is available.
F. H — Google review
After the reviews, my expectations were high for the layla. overall the food was nothing I’d write home about or even return if not for the great setting. We had made reservations for inside, but when asked to sit by the window were told that the tables were for other reservations. One table ended up being open the entire duration of our visit. The staff asked if we wanted avocado with the chilaquiles which ended up being a whopping $6 for half an avocado. The avocado was overripe and cut into 5 extremely uneven slices. Thank goodness for the avocado tho bc the dish would’ve been tasteless without it. The potatoes were the best part. For a $60+ meal for 2 entrees and tip, I’d expect better tasting food especially given the quantity of excellent restaurants in the area

The Red Grape is a laid-back, family-owned pizzeria in Sonoma that has been delighting locals and visitors for over 15 years. Their specialty lies in crafting thin, crispy crust pizzas topped with locally sourced ingredients. The charming dining room offers a view of the wood-fired pizza oven, while the patio provides a cozy outdoor dining experience. In addition to their classic offerings, they also feature unique creations like the Four on Four and Pears and Gorgonzola pizzas.
A neighbor highly recommended the Red Grape for lunch, and it did not disappoint. Our waiter, Sunny, was fantastic and very attentive (my water glass never got less than half full). The special app, bruschetta, was amazing, as were the onion rings. I also really enjoyed the Glen Ellen pizza. The kids were happy with the pizza and grilled cheese, and it was very difficult for me to not eat all of their delicious potato wedges. And so, like my neighbor said, give The Red Grape a go next time you're in Sonoma, it won't disappoint! And added bonus: it's just off the main square so you can actually find a parking spot!
Blake S — Google review
We stopped by for some casual pizza after our tasting. Walked passed a local who recommended it and he was on point. Very delicious food and very kind staff. They had a beautiful outdoor space for dogs with heat lamps. The fountain area was closed off but we were the only ones outside. It was pouring rain and hen we went but we were in an alley way which was covered. So almost an indoor outdoor feel. Good food!

We were recommended this place while out and about shopping around the plaza. Let me just say, this was the best meal we had out, and just about every meal we had out was outstanding! The food was fresh, pizza was tasty, hot and the crust was something special. Even the gluten free crust was special, it's hard to find gluten free crust that doesn't taste like a glorified cracker, and this place was definitely special. The burger was cooked to order and the nailed it! The patio is stunning, private and very comfortable, the inside was inviting and trendy, everything about this place was special. I would not hesitate to recommend this join to anyone.

Wonderful! Friendly greeting at the door. Open, comfortable seating inside and out. The mushroom bruschetta was so flavorful. Sausage and Mushroom Pizza was wafer thin, crisp and loaded with flavor. Pozole soup was clean and packed with flavor, avocado and chicken. Absolutely recommended when you are in Sonoma

Food was all very healthy choice. Too healthy for me. It was good, but I guess I am not a goat cheese type of person. The pasta was little too watery, so I had to secure pasta with shrimp at the end to pick it up. Service was good. Near the Sonoma square and nice indoor seating as well as semi-outdoor seating with water fountain. My only complain is that there were couple of flys were constantly buzzing around.

The venue hosts comedy open mics, trivia nights, and offers a generous kids menu with coloring activities.
Really cool spot and AMAZING food!! I’d recommend the Tacos, Chili Verde and Nashville Chicken Sandwich! The outdoor section is super cute and not buggy at all, it’s also covered from the sun pretty well. The service was super nice and quick. The bathrooms were super clean.

Love this place! Live music calendar, great outdoor area as well as a cool pub style interior. Happy to drive from napa to have a beer and a burger here.
Ben T — Google review
Great service, great food, lots of beer options. Everything we had food wise was great! Wife had the salmon. I had the grilled cheese with ham. Daughter had the Reuben sandwich. All were excellent. The desert selection was interesting, but I think they do a better job with the savory than they do with the sweet. The beer selection was great, though I had to skip as the driver for the evening. Next time though! They have live music several times a week, which I want to go back for. The venue seems like it would be a great place to hang out, enjoy a craft brew and some good food, and listen to a local band. The attached parking lot may be a little small, but there is a lot of street parking within the block.

What a nice find off the main tourist trap area. GREAT burger and the garlic fries were awesome. About an 8-10 minute walk from sonoma common.

It is a little pricey I think for the food, however, I do very much like the food, and the atmosphere makes up for it in my opinion. There is a very large garden seating area (that is beautifully lit up at night) and the staff is friendly and service is speedy! All the customers there look relaxed and like they're having a great time every time I go. 😉 Excellent for a big group of friends, or a laid back but intimate dinner with family. They also have live music but I haven't gone to that in a very long time so I am not going to comment on it.

Food is quite good (salmon, 4 taco combo, sweet waffle fries) but service can be slow. Some waiters are not as attentive compared to those in other restaurants. Especially when it came to refills of drinks.

Sacramento International Airport

International airport
Airport
Sacramento International Airport, located in Northern California, is known for its modern artworks that decorate the airport. Despite being a smaller airport with 17 gates, it is efficient and easy to navigate with helpful staff available. The American Express escape lounge offers a comfortable space for travelers from 5am-8pm. While mainly serving domestic flights, the airport also has limited international destinations to Guadalajara and Vancouver.
The airport provided a seamless experience, allowing for a smooth arrival and departure with minimal hassle. Baggage pickup was refreshingly swift, making it easy to collect my belongings without any delays. The only slight drawback was the bus ride to the rental car facility, which felt a bit longer than anticipated. However, the overall experience was quite positive and efficient.

Clean, calm, and surprisingly efficient. Security lines were a breeze (they take your picture now), signage was clear, and the whole airport just flows well. Terminal B is spacious and modern with great natural light and local food options shoutout to the bartenders and the chill vibe throughout. Parking was a bit chaotic in the economy lot, and we missed the first bus, but overall? A stress-free experience that puts bigger airports to shame.
Marc T — Google review
Clean, bright and airy. Interesting decor and a huge rabbit sculpture that apparently the locals aren’t too happy about for having paid hundreds of dollars for in tax dollars lol. For the B gates, there’s a nice eating area with metal chairs, but with a nice view of the tarmac. People at security are not unfriendly, but not friendly. Very stoic. No one talks to you. I guess it’s like that at all busy airports.
Viv P — Google review
Medium-sized airport with a solid selection of food and shops. The newly renovated terminal and bathrooms are super clean, and there are chargers at almost every other seat, which is a big plus. They recently added a small Starbucks kiosk, but it’s always packed… huge lines every time. Looks like more restaurants are opening soon, which will definitely help with options. Overall, clean, easy to navigate, and one of the nicer mid-size airports out there.
Chris F — Google review
Small clean and relaxed airport. If you are renting a car or returning a rental, do add a few more mins to the plan as you’ll have to take a shuttle over and a short tram to the security area. Everything else is spacious, security was quick and easy, gates were clean and bathrooms were kept up with.
Willie R — Google review
They have free WIFI Smaller airport as far as size of international airports go. Not many food options and the ones that are here have very bad reviews. I would recommend eating before you get here. Security was quick to A gates took 20min max. Looks like many repairs are going on. And they claim to be adding new restaurant but there is no construction ongoing Many tables to sit before the gates but seating at the gates can get packed.
Al C — Google review
Well-lit and very well kept - i.e. there I sn’t rubbish anywhere and even with the relatively “high“ volume of foot traffic, people aren’t dropping food and/or leaving scraps of anything behind - though I did notice two different people who had left their coffee and water/mineral water behind in the waiting area at a gate; that’s the “worst” of anything that might be considered rubbish that was left behind. Even with the announcements over the PA, it’s a relatively quiet airport, or rather, there’s a quiet and relaxed, almost “chill“ feel to the environment.
Joanna W — Google review
This International Airport offers a generally straightforward travel experience, and its navigability is definitely a plus. Getting around the terminals and finding your way to gates feels relatively easy, especially compared to some of the sprawling, more chaotic international hubs out there. This makes for a less stressful start to your journey. However, the airport experience can be a bit of a mixed bag due to the demeanor of some of the TSA agents. While you hope for efficient and courteous service from security, it's not uncommon to encounter agents who appear less than thrilled to be there. Their rudeness can certainly put a damper on the start of your trip, making the security process feel more like an ordeal than a necessary step. It's a shame that a generally easy-to-navigate airport is sometimes let down by a few miserable individuals. On a more positive note, my Air Canada flight from Sacramento International Airport actually departed early, which was a pleasant surprise! It's always a nice bonus when your flight manages to get airborne ahead of schedule, getting you to your destination sooner. This unexpected efficiency from the airline side certainly helped to balance out any frustrations encountered with security.

Oakland International Airport

International airport
Airport
Oakland International Airport is known for its diverse range of artwork and is conveniently located near a golf course and an aviation museum. The airport offers a variety of dining options, including unique spots like Bakesale Betty's, where guests can enjoy their famous fried chicken sandwich at makeshift sidewalk tables made from ironing boards. Another popular spot is Brown Sugar Kitchen, which recently opened a new location in the San Francisco Ferry Building.
Changed planes in Oakland on the way to Seattle. Only a few gates down. Very clean and organized. I had imagined it would be old and outdated. We felt very comfortable during our very short vist.
Shawn I — Google review
Unlike Denver International Airport, they don't have the comfortable long chairs for you to lay down and rest during the trip, and the restroom not clean good enough.
Chan T — Google review
The airport is recently remodeled and is empty. It is way better than most airport that I've been to. Give it a chance, don't knock it just because it's Oakland. I would definitely prefer to fly from here now.
Raphael P — Google review
This a great airport in the most convenient location in the Bay Area. More choices in Southwest flights than SF or San Jose. Kaiser has sponsored a nice remodeling of the lobby. The shops have lots of local food and merchandise. Hopefully the commission will give up in the silly name games and focus on improving the airport.
Christopher H — Google review
I recent used this airport to go visit my family. It’s very new, well kept and checking through TSA was fast and efficient even when line seemed a bit long. I will use this airport more often. I didn’t have high expectations and it did indeed exceed them. I’m glad I did try it and can’t wait to my next flight.
Xo L — Google review
Smaller airport yet very busy yet without sensation of being crowded. This visit (as I write this) was a layover. Courteous airline staff at customer service counters and at gate podiums, one doesn’t have to walk “miles” between gates, even during busy times, flow of foot traffic goes smoothly, and the overall airport atmosphere feels clean and bright (well-lit,) which contributes to the positive feel of the place. Navigation is easy and fellow passengers are also polite and courteous (part of the overall atmosphere.) I had about 1.5 hr layover and as I rested, intermittent napping (backpack on lap and carryon by my knees,) over about an hour, many passed me by and someone came to sit beside me, and I didn’t feel unsafe nor did anyone try to “take advantage” of me resting.
Joanna W — Google review
Despite its name and location, I actually really like Oakland International Airport. It’s small enough that you won’t get lost or overwhelmed, which makes getting through security and finding your gate pretty easy. The terminals is clean and well-kept, but I do wish there were different food and store options, there’s not a ton of variety. The biggest downside is the traffic situation outside; whether you’re getting dropped off, picked up, or driving for someone, it can get a little chaotic. Still, it’s a convenient airport for me and overall a pleasant place to fly in and out of.

San Francisco International Airport

International airport
Airport
San Francisco International Airport is the main airport serving Northern California, offering direct rail service to San Francisco. Travelers can easily pick up Avis car rentals at Oakland International Airport upon arrival. San Francisco itself is a vibrant city with plenty to offer, including iconic attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge. The airport provides convenient access to various Bay Area cities through local subway services and features amenities such as art exhibits, an aviation museum, restaurants, and stores for travelers' convenience.
Well-designed, modern airport that's easy to navigate, with clear signage and efficient layouts across its terminals. The architecture is sleek and spacious, featuring natural light, art installations, and eco-friendly design. Staff are generally friendly and helpful.

Pretty convenient airport in terms of all the connections it provides for domestic and international travel, especially in western areas. As expected, it can get pretty chaotic at times, and some of the gates do not provide enough seats for the number of people they host, but that's an issue with many other airports of similar characteristics/demand. I certainly recommend arriving extra early to ensure a smooth experience.
Laro — Google review
Highly Impressed! San Francisco International Airport is a surprisingly seamless experience for travelers. The terminals are modern, spacious, and impeccably clean, making navigating through security and gates effortless. Signage is clear, the layout is intuitive, and there’s a sense of efficiency that keeps the stress of travel to a minimum. From dining options to lounges, SFO feels polished and well thought-out—perfect for starting or ending a trip on a high note. ✈️

This airport is so well organized. I could not believe how quiet this place was. I heard very few loud blaring announcements. Even the bars were quiet. The bathrooms were also well kept. TSA was a breeze even with the Gov shutdown. Uber and Lyft pickup points were simple and efficient.

It's a nice, modern airport that has been recently renovated. The intuitive building layout and directions make it easy to navigate. However, the price level after the security check is pretty high. The luggage trolleys cost $9 to use. The restrooms were well managed, and the airport even has a museum!
Junhyun K — Google review
💚 Attractive airport with fun displays. Pleasant environment to spend some time. 💚 Simple, spoke and wheel layout is easy to follow. 💚 IMO, good selection of restaurants. 💚 Large, clean restrooms. 💚 The best—and most advanced—water bottle filling stations I’ve seen to date. ⛔️ The trains connecting terminals are landside only. (Pedestrian connections are available airside, though.)

It’s a nice airport with plenty of concessions and gift shops to visit. We had a layover here but our plane was delayed causing us to miss the next flight. We stayed here almost seven hours to have lunch, drinks, and plenty of snacks.

Confusing and poorly documented. Good luck finding your way around without a map or asking for directions. Good coffee robots though, would like to see the whole place working like a machine. You'd expect a tech hub to be more explicit with its markings.
