Olde Tyme Grocery

Sandwich shop
Olde Tyme Grocery is a beloved spot in Lafayette, known for its delicious po' boy sandwiches and down-home, counter-serve setup. Despite its unassuming exterior, this eatery has been satisfying locals since 1982 with a variety of mouthwatering sandwiches filled with meats and seafood. In addition to their famous po' boys, they offer other delectable menu options.
MUST STOP!! This is a great place. The service was amazing, very welcoming. The food is even better. The shrimp is delicious.
Madison W — Google review
Really good shrimp po boys. Right texture, excellent frying, flavors are good, just not sure about ketchup on a shrimp po boy. The side of potato fries is enough for two. You can definitely split that. Definitely gets crowded when it gets busy, but they move the orders really well. There are at least three different eating areas, which alleviates the crowding quite a bit. Parking is pretty good, considering how close it to a college. Parking on street side and across the road. If you have a trailer, you might have to get creative depending on when you come through.
Nathan P — Google review
Had the shrimp poboy (no ketchup) and fries -- super delicious. The shrimp are perfectly cooked and seasoned, the bread is delicious! One of the best poboys I've ever eaten! The fries were potato wedges. They were good but I prefer crispy fries. The atmosphere is cute with memorabilia ALL over the place. Could use a little cleaning.... but cute non the less. They also have Hubig hand pies. Get some! They are soooo good!
Donna W — Google review
We sampled a po'boy while on a trip with Cajun Food Tours. While I wasn't able to try a sandwich myself, my husband claimed it was the best one he's had since we've been coming to Louisiana. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is homey and creates a fun atmosphere.
Jemry M — Google review
This is it, voted no.1 Mom and Pop grocery store in Louisiana. Stop in and grab a po boy sandwich. We tried the shrimp po boy and it hit the spot. Prices are fair too! The inside is decorated with Louisiana Lafayette Ragin Cajuns memorabilia and other old thangs. There is seating inside the restaurant, and another room off to the side. Staff is friendly. Stop by, you won't regret it. 🙏🏼
Black&White P — Google review
When you order 2 halfs an hour ahead to pick up, Be nice if they're ready. I can deal with waiting if what I brought home was nothing the po boy I remember from here Could you have literally put any less lettuce or the one piece of tomato to go with the 5 oysters. For how much... Were you in a hurry because you didn't have them ready. This is the most underwhelming po boy I've ever been presented shameful $35 for 2 half a bag of chips and a coke. Go anywhere else ..
B K — Google review
Cute lil Cajun restaurant, great people with good customer serivce. Great prices and you get alot of meat on your Poboy. The bread they use tastes fresh and is soft. If you need a sweet treat they have plenty inside, old time sweet treats that are hard to find. Very neat and clean from inside to outside. Parking was easy. Enjoy your food to go or stay and eat inside or in there covered enclosure patio area. The bathrooms have the cutest names pogirls and poboys, many things inside on there walls will make you laugh. A good lil place to get a poboy without a long wait time and you get plenty of meat.

Great local spot that has delicious Po Boys! We visited Olde Tyme Grocery on our way home from Lake Charles this past weekend. The shrimp Po Boys were so good!

Barbecue restaurant
Cajun restaurant
Johnson's Boucanière is a laid-back spot in Lafayette that offers outdoor seating and specializes in smoked meat sandwiches and specialty meats. The restaurant is renowned for its sizzling boudin, a Louisiana favorite, along with gumbos and poboys. The unpretentious interior adds to the charm of the place, making visitors feel right at home. Guests can enjoy delicious BBQ and other Cajun favorites while sitting on the patio with a nice breeze coming through the big windows.
So many people take simple things and complicate them to a point where they are no longer good. Not here, simple but time consuming things like boudin and brisket are perfectly executed and seasoned. Even the mac and cheese had great flavor, I've been to many places that this was flavorless almost a forgotten side. They give their sides the attention necessary to make them outstanding.
Frank M — Google review
Great little BBQ joint near just a few minutes drive off the highway. Service is very friendly and the selection of BBQ cuts and sides is just what you need for a nice lunch or takeaway. - Value for money? Yes - Worth a detour? A short one - Best for (occasion)? Roadside BBQ when on a trip - Would I go back? Yes
Gustav K — Google review
I'm from Texas so it's not really an apples to apples comparison. Their brisket was good. It wasn't as good in my opinion as Texas brisket but good nonetheless. I had the brisket grilled cheese. It was served on a tiny little Panini pressed hamburger bun. So it was small, if your hungry order 2 or a larger plate menu item. It was tasty, the Mac and cheese was okay, not creamy enough for me it was a little dry. Another Texas thing was the barbecue sauce for me at this restaurant was a little thin. Overall would recommend, might just order a 3 meal plate next time.

First time eating here. OMG the food is delicious, perfectly seasoned. The Customer service is very friendly, love the atmosphere of the place. Clean very welcoming restaurant. I definitely will be back. Great job to everyone who works here you all make it awesome.

We stopped here while on The Cajun Food Tours and sampled their boudin. Delicious! With just the right amount of spice! They have goods for sale, such as frozen or fresh boudin, tasso, and dips. Everything is very tasty and the service was fast and friendly.
Jemry M — Google review
This place has some of the most delicious 😋 gumbo in Lafayette. Everything else on the menu is amazing! You will not be disappointed!
Mindy J — Google review
Meaning special (brunch addition) with an added egg for the win. This was perfect in every way. It is a filling and delicious. Fried boudin ball (family recipe), cheddar cheese, strawberry jam on a biscuit. The marriage of savory and sweet in my mouth was a wonderful celebration of the south!!! Got an extra boudin ball on the side for good measure and was happy with that choice. Landing here late on a Sunday will limit your options, but you will find something to satisfy because there’s no wrong choice.
C M — Google review
The location is great and the service for the most part is also great. My only complaint is that they double charged me for something and I didn’t realize it until after I had left. But they corrected it after I called so I give them a huge boost for that. The food just wasn’t what I was hoping it would be. The brisket was tough, chewy, and dry and didn’t really have a brisket flavor but more like a pot roast. The corn was okay. The beans were okay. The only thing I really enjoyed was the boudin, but I’ve had better boudin as well. This place was very middle of the road. But the staff and the building were nice. If I went again I would try to get there early to try something other than the brisket.

The restaurant takes pride in crafting everything from scratch, offering real food with seasonal ingredients. While not entirely vegetarian, the menu changes weekly and always includes vegan and veggie options such as veggie burgers, salad bowls, and hearty soups. Absolutely loved this place! Stopped here to grab some early dinner on our way out of Lafayette. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant is incredible! It’s a pop of beauty in that location. Food is phenomenal! Service is 10/10. We ordered the Hash Bowl & a burger. It was delicious. I live 2 hours away from Lafayette and I’m already planning to go back soon. Definitely give it a try if you’re in town.

Stumbled on this gem today... Freshly sourced from produce x meats no more than 2 hours away... Excellent service... Good energy in this place so you're responsible for that.. I had the Comfort Bowl, which is lima bean based, was flavorful NOT SALTY.. Again, fresh ingredients!! Lavender Tea was somethin I never had before but it was refreshing. A real healthy alternative for those who live a active, clean, fitness driven lifestyle FOR SURE 💯 This was a quality, fresh and fulfilling brunch/breakfast spot. The essence of good nature, people, and food! Go visit Lafayette to catch this gem! I'll be back soon myself ⚜️🌶️👊🏾🪴 ..

This is a very popular place and for good reason. The restaurant was full so it took a little while for the food to arrive. But that's also because they make things from scratch, hence the name! The food was delicious, good quality, very fresh and no "fillers" like french fries unless you ordered them as a side, but there were tons of offerings as sides to choose from. You order at the counter. When you go in, they give you a number and you take it to a table. The place is very colourfully and tastefully decorated which was a lot of fun. The three of us had a Bowl, a scratch burger and the dish called Scratch, with pulled pork. All delicious! You pour your own coffee and water at the sidebar, which was convenient. The lemonade and ice tea were also excellent.

I’m going to start by saying that the ambience instantly steals the show when you walk in. Vibrant colors and beautiful plants made me feel so welcomed and excited to eat. I had breakfast here for the first time and everything was AMAZING! The service was A1, the Lavender Lemonade was super cute & tasty, the food was FRESH like best food I’ve had in Laffy, lastly I also had the Ginger Cookie it was to DIE FOR! So fresh, so moist, baked to perfection. Mid way through eating it was upset that I only purchased 1 lol Run don’t walk to Scratch you WILL NOT be disappointed!

I love everything about this place. This restaurant introduced me to beet ketchup. Like whhhaaaattt??? So freaking good… The interior is amazing. Ben’s murals are so awesome!! it’s just a really cool spot and so refreshing that they have such an inclusive menu. It’s very easy to find vegetarian options here.

Always fresh, and extra fresh farm to table flavors. One of our favorite, consistent spots! You can taste the difference. Beautifully plated meals each time! Awesome margaritas, and all the other delicious extras to take home! One of our favorite top FAVES in Lafayette. Amazing work they all do, thank you!!! Breakfast Burrito w/chicken.🙌
Sarah M — Google review
Little place with a great concept. Farm to table so the menu changes depending on what is available. It’s a brunch menu with great options. I had the Scratch which was a biscuit piled with sausage , farm egg, Gouda, and blue berry jam. It came with a side and I chose the hash potatoes. Everything was very fresh and plenty of food to satisfy any appetite. I wouldn’t call the biscuit a classic biscuit but it wasn’t to heavy and was large enough to carry the sausage patty. The over easy egg was perfect and the yellow ran like gold when cut into and I loved the blueberry jam. Such a good compliment to the dish. The hash potatoes were a combination of well seasoned, crusty (from being grilled), and steamed. I’ve seen this before in many places but this was the best attempt I’ve seen. I ate them all! I washed all Of this down with their Lavender Hibiscus Lemonade. It was good but was a bit flowery for my taste. Next time, because I will be back, I will try the Lavender Lemonade without the hibiscus. Can’t wait to return and try something else! Update 6/28/25 Today had a fantastic ginger margarita with the Hash it Out with pork patty and bacon. Everything was very good. Not a fan of the stand in line and order then sit routine. Would prefer a waitress. Upscale breakfast should have upscale service, imho. Once you sit the staff is friendly and attentive. Just take my order! lol.

Had a lovely breakfast here on our way out of Lafayette. I absolutely loved the decor and environment, the service was fantastic, and the food was delish! Excited to come back when we visit Lafayette again. Give them a try!

Social Southern Table & Bar

Southern restaurant (US)
Social Southern Table & Bar is a charming restaurant that serves up seasonal Southern cuisine in a stylish, rustic setting. Whether you're stopping by for lunch, dinner, or their popular Sunday brunch, this eatery offers a diverse menu of homestyle dishes with a modern flair. Pair your meal with craft beer, wine, or cocktails for the perfect dining experience. With its farm-to-table approach and varied menu options, Social Southern Table & Bar has something to delight every palate.
I had planned to have lunch at Don’s Seafood, but when I saw the parking lot completely packed, I decided not to get out of the truck. I searched Google Maps for other nearby options and Social Southern stood out with its strong customer reviews. I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. The atmosphere is relaxed yet upscale with a welcoming bar and attentive service. I started with an Old Fashioned made with George T. Stagg Barrel Proof bourbon and enjoyed it so much that I ordered a second one. Both were smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced. For lunch, I ordered the pepperoni flatbread with a crisp crust, melted cheese, and flavorful pepperoni. The bartender brought out some spicy ranch to go with it, and that extra kick made it even more delicious. I finished with a warm brownie studded with pecans, topped with ice cream, and drizzled with chocolate sauce. The combination of rich chocolate, crunchy pecans, and creamy ice cream was absolutely delicious. My tab came to around $240, largely due to the two premium Old Fashioneds, but every sip and bite was worth it. Social Southern is now on my must-visit list whenever I am in Lafayette.

This is a great spot for modern Southern food. There’s no kids' menu, but it’s kid-friendly. The biscuits are amazing—fresh, flaky, and delicious. The burgers were just okay because the bun was a bit soggy inside. The fried green tomatoes were crispy with a nice chili kick. Overall, it’s a nice place with a good atmosphere and tasty food.
Mark H — Google review
I recommend the biscuits and honey as well as the chicken-fried green tomatoes! Great spot. I will say that the honey that comes with the biscuits is a little spicy so be mindful of that. 😎

We had an amazing experience at Social. Our drinks were TOP TIER. Our bartender Colt did such a great job! Drinks were well-balanced and flavor was on POINT. Service was amazing! Our food was timely and delicious. We will be back and tell all of our friends to come here too.

My wife and I enjoy a rare date night. I had the steak & frites and my wife had the smoked Chicken & Sweet Potato Biscuits. The food was very good. The service was top shelf and the atmosphere was perfect. We were looking for a place we could actually have a conversation and not have to yell across the table.

Our server, I believe her name was Kate, was awesome! We came in on a Wednesday for lunch and had the Mac and cheese and it was the best I’ve ever had. And I’m pretty critical of Mac n cheese. Haha. It was AMAZING. I had met someone who used to be a chef there (Robert Kennedy - actual name, no relation) and he recommended we go while in town. And it did not disappoint. Everything was so flavorful and the portions were huge for the price! Honestly, it was a great deal for exceptional food. Will definitely recommend and be back. 🤤

Even though they are going through and renovations this place is gorgeous! Everyone we encountered was absolutely the sweetest. Abby was our waitress and even for being busy she was on top of everything from drinks to food. The food oh my gosh my mouth eaters just thinking about it. It was so delicious and flavorful. The drinks were beautifully on point also and so yummy. Highly recommend!!!

This was our 1st time here. Our server was great, He was very knowledgeable about all items on the menu. He made us feel so welcomed. The food definitely gets an A in my food book 😄 The seafood tasted so fresh and it was hot when served. It was Vaneltines day Night when we went, they where super busy. But All the staff moved with ease and grace, with a sense of happiness. As they all worked as one team. You can tell they're management is doing a great job. We enjoyed every bite of our food. The inside of the building was so clean and neat. I loved there wood ceilings, those where shinny and cleanned too. Over all it's a great place to eat at. 😋 The hole staff did an amazing job. We will be back for more .🤣 may I suggest a Wine, (Crane lake Moscato), sweet taste left on your taste buds, very smooth. Great tasting wine 🍷.

The food is great! You can really tell the crawfish are fresh and they are seasoned well. I like how big there menu is. They have something to satisfy everyone. My only one complaint is that their service could be better. Our group was large; however we did call ahead. It took them probably 10 minutes to seat us in a mostly empty restaurant, and they first wanted to seat us in a room with a dozens of rowdy softball tournament girls. But thankfully they were able to seat us in a more quiet area of the restaurant.

First our waiter Kaden was AMAZING! He was on point with EVERYTHING!! He was so sweet and didn’t skip a beat! He made sure we were taken care of and we didn’t have to ask for anything! Our food was absolutely delicious! It was hot when it came out and was so mouthwatering! Everything we’ve tried here has always been great! Definitely recommend coming here!!! There are so many different options and selections to choose from!

We went there for my dad’s birthday and was a perfect selection. We sat outside because we have 2 dogs and the service was excellent. We change tables because it was hot and there were some tables with fans around. Our server took her time explaining and helping choosing the food. Everything was delicious. The food is a little bit spicy but is normal… so you can expect that on almost every plate hahahaha They surprised my dad with a dessert and singing happy birthday to him. When we were leaving we noticed they can deliver, they also have a food truck and a trailer for events. 😃 Recommended 100% ❤️

My fried oysters were very small and overpriced for the amount I paid. The mashed potatoes were very good and the gravy was great.
Damond J — Google review
We were a party of 24, and they were one of the restaurants that could accommodate us. The service was good, but I found that the food was not as tasty as it was 4 years ago. Also, food was bit pricey. That is my opinion only. Remember, there were 23 other people there. There is plenty of parking and it's wheelchair accessible. The atmosphere was casual, and the waiter gave good service.
Anita B — Google review
My husband, bestie, and her husband went to this location to celebrate our friendship. She was trying to show us a delicious restaurant that had good memories attached to it. We were all very excited to treat ourselves to such a luxury that we made reservations in advance to make the experience seamless. When we got there, for some reason our reservations were lost. We were sightly disappointed.. All four of us could pull up the reservations on our phone as proof. The hostess then left to get the manager and returned with the manager & a police officer in tow. There was a large group of people behind us that made the scene a bit embarrassing. The manager did seat us and fix the issue. Regardless, the food and waitress (Kitty) were freaking amazing. As for never eating there before, we were really excited that the appetizers were sized to share and we got to sample a lot of local favorites. The main courses were in a league of their own as well. Everything was largely portioned, flavorful, and promptly served. The food was delicious but due to the quite memorable experience beforehand, we probably won't be back at this location. I *do* recommend this chain if you are interested in trying Cajun food.

The French Press - Ambassador

Brunch restaurant
The French Press - Ambassador is a delightful spot that combines delicious food with a cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal hangout. With a menu boasting standout dishes like the Breesus boudin biscuits and crab cake benedict, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The spacious layout and ample parking at this location enhance the experience compared to its downtown counterpart. Coffee lovers will appreciate their large French press options, which perfectly complement the meal.
My husband and I arrived at 1pm with no cars in the parking lot. We walked in and was spoken to and sat quickly. There was no one in there. We were given waters and I ordered a small French pressed coffee. We ordered quickly. I ordered a small french press wedge salad that had fried chicken strip. My husband ordered the Breesus Boudin biscuits. My French pressed offer arrived. He explained how to use it. But, when I poured it tons of grounds came out. We asked our waiter, he said he could remake it. That sometimes the filter messes up. I still drank one cup of the coffee, which was great besides the grounds. Our food arrived within 10/15 minutes. It came out quickly and it was AMAZING. My chicken was fabulous. The salad was beautiful. It was the perfect size. My husband's potatoes and biscuits were great. Service and the entire place was amazing. Will definitely try again.

This a great place, not as authentic I am sure as others around. The food was decent. Shrimp was a bit fishy to me, the gumbo was good, the potatos were basic, and the beignets were superb. I felt like the drinks were a bit strong not that my fiance complained, but I don't care for the straight taste of alcohol. The wait was a bit long but not awful. It's a tight cozy establishment. Not bad.
Elizabeth ( — Google review
We had a pleasant experience at French Press. The ambience was lovely and vibrant, especially during brunch hours. It does get crowded, so we had to wait about 25 minutes for a table. Since we had a baby with us, the table felt a bit small and cramped. That said, the food made up for it. While not completely authentic, the chicken and waffles were absolutely delicious. The chicken was incredibly crispy and had a flavorful glaze that hit just right. I also loved their latte - smooth and rich. The classic breakfast was simple but well done. Overall, it was a decent brunch spot with great food and a cozy vibe.
Deeksha S — Google review
We had a bit of a wait, but the friendly staff made up for it. After a 15-minute wait, our food took around 45 minutes to arrive. The drinks were a highlight - the mimosa and Irish coffee were both delicious! As for the food, the truffle fries were a standout, earning a solid 9/10. However, the chicken and waffles were a letdown, with the dish being overly sweet and the waffle overcooked (6/10). Unfortunately, the shrimp wrap was also disappointing, with only six tiny shrimp in it (4/10). Overall, the experience was decent, but the kitchen could work on speeding things up and refining their dishes.

Perfect lunch experience. The smell of the restaurant alone will have your mouth watering. Greeted by friendly staff and seated quickly. Kind-hearted servers took great care of us keeping our coffee cups full and going over all our options. The boudin biscuits is a must try! 🥐🥪☕️

This was our first time eating here. We drove in from Alexandria LA. We started off with 2 appetizers the truffle fries and the praline bacon. They both were delicious. My friend and I ordered the Cajun Benedict. Toasted French bread, boudin patty, American cheese, 2 poached-medium eggs topped with our chicken & andouille gumbo. We both enjoyed our meal. It was quite delicious. Our other friend ordered the chicken and waffles. Fried chicken strips tossed in LeBlancs Cane Jelly on top of a cheddar waffle. She enjoyed her meal as well. I had a POINSETTA mimosa and the had the french press mimosa. Both drinks were great. Our server was very nice and pleasant. We didn't want for anything. She made us feel cared about. The atmosphere was calming very peaceful to eat here. I would recommend coming here to eat again.

I had the pleasure of dining here for a birthday celebration. The aesthetic and atmosphere is definitely a vibe. I ordered 4 rounds of The Grand Mimosa that's mixed with Grand Marnier 🤌🏽🤪. I also ordered the breakfast sandwich but inside a wrap with a side of potatoes 10/10. Also, I just wished they had a bigger building that accommodate large tables like we had and also more servers .

My first time at this location, and I really liked it a lot! Much more spacious and better parking compared to the downtown location (which makes sense). I ordered the Breesus boudin biscuits with potatoes while my friend had the crab cake benedict with potatoes, and everything was great!!! What made it even better was the “free 2 mimosas to medical personnel” Monday-Friday 7am-2pm! Offered at both locations!!! So make sure to go at that time if you qualify!

Prejean's Restaurant in Carencro is a beloved establishment that has been serving up authentic Cajun cuisine and live music for over 40 years. The restaurant, originally opened by Bob Guilbeau, is now under the ownership of Tim Metcalf. Visitors can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a family-friendly setting. The menu features classic Cajun favorites such as fried green tomatoes, gumbos, seafood platters, and crawfish etouffee.
I’ve been coming here for the last 18 years. Although the menu has changed, the food is always good, fresh, and served piping hot. Tonight selection was Chargrilled Ousters and the Seafood Platter. Bring your “A” game, the platter has a lot if food on it. My server, Karlie did a fantastic job this evening! Keep up the great work.

Very good dining experience and food were very flavorful. Our waiter,Toby, did an excellent job engaging with us and gave thoughtful recommendations on menu items to consider. Gumbo was very flavorful, potato salad as well. Fried shrimp was very good. The hamburger was thick and juicy. It was very nice to hear Toby being very open and sincere with his guidance and recommendations.

Everything was absolutely delicious and the bartenders were amazing. I had the smoked old fashioned, fried green tomatoes, corn and crab bisque, and the crème brûlée. All which exceeded expectation. Prejean’s has always been very good but we have not been in the area lately. We got a chance to eat here today and it is as good as we remembered. The atmosphere is decidedly cajun and a lot of fun. The food is some of the best cajun cooking you will ever taste and yes, a slight bit spicy. Our server was just great, friendly and attentive.

We are from Texas and came here on a business trip. The seafood gumbo was WONDERFUL! Ordered a side of dirty rice…..best I’ve ever had! Also had an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms. BEST EVER! The staff were all very attentive. And a bonus of live music while we ate! We will definitely return next time we are in town. @prejeans, can you leak the dirty rice recipe for me?! I’d love to make this at home in Texas!

I was passing through Lafayette and had always heard great things about Prejan’s. I stopped in for a late lunch. It wasn’t busy at all. It’s located just off the highway and has plenty of parking and seating. You are greeted by a big gator when you walk in. There is a bar area to the left and the big dining room to the right. It has that feel you would expect. Service was a touch slow, but is was a slow time and staff was limited. I ordered the catfish atchafalaya which is fried catfish with crawfish etouffee on rice with corn maque choux. I don’t order catfish must but I was told this dish was on point. The catfish was excellent. Crispy, flaky, and very moist. The crawfish etouffee was very good but there wasn’t much of it. The dish says it’s smothered in it. That wasn’t the case, which was disappointing because it was very tasty. I never had the corn dish. It was a little sweet for my taste. Overall, very good lunch I just wish there was more crawfish because it’s one of my favorites. I would come back again and just try the etouffee or catfish on their own.

My husband and I just got back from vacation and were craving some Prejean’s gumbo! Got a bowl last night that was 24oz for $18. Ordered two more today because we just love it and got two 16oz at $18 each. Filled up barely over halfway at that. When we called to ask if that was a mistake, they said that they changed their sizes overnight. I don’t know about yall, but this is not worth the price. It sounds like they were running low on gumbo and didn’t want to miss the sale so they shorted us. A shameful business practice that I never would expect from Prejean’s. Unfortunately we will not be coming back.

There were problems but who doesn't have them. The person we spoke to said they had just let there help go because of the rain and it was slow. All of a sudden there came a crowd of people. The part that was very bad was they sat us at a table that had rice all over on the floor and chair also the table wasn't that clean. I noticed there were other clean tables in the area.

We had a tough journey with our rented EV and we left the car charging and decided to get an Uber to have lunch here and what an amazing experience after the stress. Our server was an absolute sweetheart that just made our day better. The food was exceptional. I loved my Crawfish Etouffe and my Irish coffee. Must visit if you are ever near the area. Our Uber driver also gave us a thumbs up selecting this restaurant.

This was my first time at Bon Temps. I drove 3 hours in from Shreveport, Louisiana for a concert and I had been hearing great things about the restaurant so I thought I would stop in. I was not disappointed. The food and service were amazing. Next time I'm in Lafayette again I will definitely be back. ❤️

Food was really good, our only complaint was the service. The staff was great when they interacted with us, but unfortunately, they didn’t for long periods of time. It took quite a while for them to take our order, and it took quite a while to get our food. I had to remind them about my Bloody Mary. We went around 11:30 on a Saturday and they were not busy and appeared to be fully staffed. I was reluctant to write about this, but this is something that can easily be improved upon. Again, the food was really good.

So far service has been excellent, The management staff has been kind and very attentive, they offered to refire the steak to the perfect temp, awesome service. Brandon was top notch, would recommend him for upper management also the bread pudding that was recommended was off the chain, I’ve been to several restaurants in Louisiana but this one is going in my personal favorites. I’m going to make this a regular stop,

We stopped in during a trip with Cajun Food Tours. We sampled the gumbo which was topnotch!! The savory flavors made my mouth happy!! So good! Can't wait to return for more from the menu!

If you are in the LaFayette area of Louisiana, I recommend this restaurant. We stopped in for lunch, after looking for a local place serving up cajan seafood. When we walked thru the door we were greeted with a smaile, and were seated right away. Heidi was our server, and was very friendly from the time she walked up. I asked her what a favorite was and she said hands down crawfish enchilades with the jalapeno cheese grits. It was an item I was looking at and decided to go with. Hands down, it was great! My hubby got the crawfish etouffe, with rice. It too was great. Had to bypass dessert, but wouldve gotten the bread pudding if I could. If given the chance I would go back. The staff was great. The manager even stopped by to see how everything was.

Very unique and tasty food. The crawfish etouffe was solid and lots of flavours. Alligator bang bang was on point and flavoured well. Gumbo and Bourdain were good.

Fine dining restaurant
Cafe' Vermilionville is a charming restaurant housed in a meticulously restored Acadian cypress house with a picturesque courtyard. The interior exudes historic charm, providing an elegant yet casual ambiance for fine dining. Guests rave about the delectable Louisiana cuisine, including the Gulf Fish Acadien and the renowned White Chocolate Bread Pudding. The menu features fresh, scratch-made dishes that are sure to satisfy any appetite.
Quaint historic venue for a restaurant. The inside of the building has been preserved quite well. The food was delectable. I ordered the Gulf Fish Acadien and the other White Chocolate Bread Pudding (house favorite) for dessert. The fish was cooked to perfection and the bread puddin’ did not disappoint. I also had a nice refreshing mocktail that was unlike anything I’ve had before; Apple Sage Cider Lemonade. Ambiance was laid back—fine dining yet also casual. I must say, walking out and seeing the CVS propped right next to this 1835 classic was quite the humorous juxtaposition.

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in a while. Went for mother’s day lunch when a modified menu was served. Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to eat here and now I can’t wait to go back! This is a great spot for special occasions and such a gem located in Lafayette!

Awesome fine dining experience and experience a piece of history that is still standing today. All food is fresh, made from scratch and will guarantee to get you full. The owner came out to greet us, asked us about our dining experience and where we from and our server Louis was awesome too. If you never ate there before, I would highly recommend it. One of the best kept secrets in Lafayette.

7/8/21 Waiter Lance was a Sweety pie to my dinner companion and me. I ordered the seafood gumbo. I was very happy that it came out HOT. There was a generous portion of seafood in the gumbo. The roux is very dark in color. It was a bit on the salty side, but not unbearably disappointing to where I couldn't still enjoy it. I also had the chicken dinner that was cooked wonderfully in a 🍄 mushroom sauce and placed atop of roasted potatoes and 2 stalks of asparagus. The chicken breasts were REALLY juicy and prepared well. I took home the pork chop meal. Wow!!!! Loved the porkchops, too!!!!! The bread pudding is tasty, too...eventhough I'm not a fan of this dessert, I was curious and wanted to try it. I will definitely be back to bring my family, future dates and guests here.

Delicious! The Grouper with risotto and asparagus was great. The chocolate chip, coconut pecan pie was excellent. Great atmosphere. Perfect for a date night. The bar area was very quaint, with the most comfy bar stools you'll ever experience!

The food was great and because of the reservation requirements, it was not overly busy and noisy. Only knock was I wish there was a little more light inside. Some customers had to use their cellphones to see the menu well.

Seafood restaurant
Dons Seafood in Lafayette is a historic restaurant that has been serving traditional Cajun dishes since 1934. It offers a relaxed atmosphere and Southern classics like seafood gumbo and grilled meat. The menu features local catches, including favorites like Half Catfish and Half Red Beans, as well as blackened alligator. Visitors can also indulge in bread pudding for dessert.
I loved Don’s Seafood Lafayette, and you will too! An attorney was sitting next to me on my flight said this place was excellent, and my Area Manager confirmed this place was the bomb. Authentic Cajun dining in a beautiful setting. Full bar, excellent food, plenty of parking, and super clean bathrooms. I was impressed that they have cards in the men’s room that say, “if our bathrooms need attention, hand this card to a staffmember”. I had the charbroiled oysters on the half shell, which comes with some garlic butter toast, which was a pleasant surprise. I also had the shrimp platter which came with a cup of wonderful shrimp gumbo, shrimp etoufee, shrimp scampi, fried shrimp (excellent), crab stuffed shrimp, and jacked up shrimp. Oh, forgot the super excellent hush puppies, and tartar sauce. Everything was excellent. My waitress was very attentive, bar was full, and the hostess did a great job. Very hospitable. I will be back as soon as I can.

Absolutely great place. Warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in. It was very busy, but I only waited about 10 minutes. Jade, my waitress was absolutely great, perfect service, great attitude and personality. I ordered the catfish and shrimp platter (small), and the hush puppies. Hush puppies were fantastic, tarter sauce was the best I've had in a very long time. Catfish was was crispy and delicious, shrimp were perfect as well. Don's will definitely be on my repeat restaurant list. Thank you for the wonderful food and experience.

After five long years away from Louisiana, walking into Don’s felt like a homecoming—and that was entirely thanks to Shelby, the incredible bartender. From the moment I sat down, she greeted me with a smile so warm and genuine that I instantly felt like I belonged again. Shelby didn’t just pour drinks—she poured heart into the entire experience. She asked where I was from, recommended her favorite cocktails and dishes, and even shared a few local stories that reminded me of everything I love about Louisiana. Her timing was perfect, her suggestions were spot‑on, and her easygoing, friendly energy made the evening unforgettable. The food and drinks were excellent—the gumbo and oysters were everything I’d been missing—but it was Shelby who made the night special. Her hospitality is the kind that makes you feel like family, not just a customer. If you’re visiting Don’s, sit at Shelby’s bar. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, she’ll make you feel like you’re right at home in Cajun country. Thank you, Shelby—you turned a night out into a memory I’ll carry with me for a long time.

Celebrated a birthday dinner. Order the half dozen of Jacked Up Oysters which were HUGE! Second time trying oysters and these left the impression I was looking for. Also ordered the grilled catfish topped with the crawfish cream sauce. Only problem my potatoes were cold. Other than that everything was perfect! Definitely coming back for more drinks. Strawberry lemon drop perfect amount of liquor very strong just how I like it

Service was good but I think our server was overwhelmed. Atmosphere is pretty. The food, each item was a hit or miss. Seems like a giant has fallen. Seafood Ravioli was bad, Seafood platter was good except the crawfish ettoufee, salmon dinner was good but the mac & cheese was bland, shrimp spinach dip the shrimp is not deveined, the crab claw broiled is to die for delicious The turtle cheesecake & white chocolate bread pudding is nothing special. The bread for the bread pudding is way too thick same thing for the crust on the cheese cake.

I had an incredible experience! The food was absolutely delicious — everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. What really tied the whole thing together was our waitress, Alex B. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. You can tell she truly cares about her customers and enjoys what she does. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Lafayette Regional Airport

Regional airport
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Lafayette, Louisiana, Lafayette Regional Airport offers travelers a charming and efficient experience. Located conveniently across from Vermilionville on Fisher Road, this small yet well-maintained airport features a spacious parking lot designed for easy access. The layout is reminiscent of Augusta's airport, with a circular drive that keeps traffic flowing smoothly for pick-ups and drop-offs. Inside, visitors will find a clean environment complemented by some souvenir shopping options.
Very modern, new, efficient, small, and easily accessible airport. Plenty of airport parking, with cellphone lot. Easy to access the ride share waiting area once you exit the airport. Only 5 gates, which means less hassle to get to them. Plenty of AC and USB-A plugs to recharge your devices. Mother-friendly bathroom available. Comfortable air conditioning. Tastefully decorated interior. Love the small round pods with a table that accommodates one or two people while waiting near the gate. Enjoyed traveling to this destination for a meeting.

This is the cleanest and nicest airport I've visited! The airport is so beautiful and very clean! It's got 5 gates and very fast check in. The windows are so clear and immaculate! So many power outlets and very clean seating in all of the gates! The car rental agency has a very good sized fleet of cars. The baggage claim area is very nice and clean as well - everything about this airport is beautiful - for the size! You don't have tons of eating/shopping options, but as far as views, location, accessibility, facilities, ticketing and employee service - just the best that I've ever experienced! Great Job!
Victor C — Google review
Seriously understaffed. No one at the AA ticket counter for 20 minutes, 1 of the 2 check in kiosks was out of paper, no gate was assigned for my delayed flight and, when AA agent finally showed up at gate 5 (it’s a small airport) the wrong flight number was on the board so many of us were confused and concerned. TSA security was amazing and it’s super clean so that’s the reason it’s a bit higher rating. Lack of communication and assistance abounds.

I am frustrated that so much money, time, and effort went into building this new terminal, yet the same poor attitude still persists. If you are not willing to work with customers, you shouldn't be in the customer service field. LFT, you could find better staff or provide adequate training. I arrived one hour before my departure due to a wreck on the interstate, but my baggage was refused to be loaded onto the plane. The service desk claimed I only had minutes left for baggage load on the plane, despite my having arrived with 1-hr to spare before departure. I had to reschedule my overseas flights and bear the extra costs involved, with no help in minimizing these expenses since my ticket was booked through an agency rather than directly through Delta. Now this same flight I was initially scheduled for was delayed anyway. I would have loaded my baggage onto the plane myself if it had been such a big deal. The ground crew and desk staff were quick to suggest that I speak with a manager rather than working with me to find a solution. I'm not the only one that strolled in at the same time. Three other customers had the same situation and we all agreed it could have been handled different by staff. Some took the option of getting on the plane with luggage I did not have this option since I was heading overseas to go offshore and needed my equipment. So LFT management do you support your staff and their way of dealing with the situation? Even if you on time your to late for baggage load onto a plane that will get delayed anyway. Be better..

They fixed a tire, within in 10 minutes. No gimmicks just an honest shop doing good work. Thanks for getting us on the road quickly.
Christine A — Google review
The remodel is nice but still kind of hoped for a little more options like a coffee shop vs two gift shops. Appreciate still hearing the French announcements throughout the airport as it is absolutely a part of the culture and glad we incorporated still for any and all visitors.

I recently had the opportunity to fly out of a new Lafayette regional airport terminal that replaced an old terminal, and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with the upgrades. The new terminal was a vast improvement over the old one and made for a more pleasant travel experience. One of the things that struck me immediately was how modern and sleek the new terminal looked. It was clear that much thought and care had gone into the design, from the spacious, light-filled atrium to the clean, contemporary lines of the terminal building itself. Inside the terminal, there were plenty of amenities to make the travel experience more comfortable. The seating areas were comfortable and had plenty of charging ports for electronic devices, which was a nice touch. The terminal also had a range of food and beverage options, which significantly improved over the limited options at the old terminal. The new terminal also made the security process much smoother and more efficient. The security lines were well-organized, and the staff was friendly and helpful. This helped to alleviate some of the stress and frustration that can often come with the security process. Finally, the boarding process was much easier and more organized in the new terminal. The boarding gates were marked and easy to find, and plenty of seating was available for passengers waiting to board their flights. Overall, the new regional airport terminal was a vast improvement over the old one, and I highly recommend it to anyone flying out of the Lafayette airport. The modern design, amenities, and efficient processes combine to create a much more pleasant travel experience. It's clear that a lot of care and attention went into the design and construction of the new terminal, and it shows in the result.

Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport

Domestic airport
Airport
Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport is a regional airport serving the Gulf Coast, offering amenities like an arcade, free WiFi, and a food court. When renting a car one way from this city, keep in mind that the drop-off fee depends on the distance between pick-up and drop-off locations. The best time to visit Baton Rouge for outdoor activities is in spring when the weather is more favorable. Additionally, February is ideal due to events like Mardi Gras.
This is a small airport and very easy to get around. Not much to it. Was my 1st time here and navigating this airport was a breeze.
Vonzell L — Google review
Nice, clean airport where you do not have to deal with the hustle and bustle as one does at bigger airports. I wish the food selection offer more variety but at least there are a few restaurants at the food court.
Alice C — Google review
Baton Rouge Metropolitan is a small airport, but it runs efficiently. Security is quick, lines move fast, and you can be at your gate in minutes. There’s only one restaurant option, so don’t expect much variety, but it gets the job done. Overall, it’s a simple, no-frills airport that does exactly what you need — quick in, quick out, and easy travel from start to finish. ✈️

Lola is very rude! I was on time for my flight with my baby, but she would not check my luggage bag and was being constantly cruel! Bad reputation for this airline! Will travel to New Orleans than this airport !

It was my first time visiting Baton Rouge, LA. Airport is decent size, well kept/maintained, with shop, chapel/quiet reading area (I was able to perform noon prayer), business center, and local art display area. Rental car center is located within a walking distance.
Kaleem S — Google review
I really like BTR Airport. It's large enough to have flights to Manny places, but small enough for a quick experience. Flying out today was a breeze.
David H — Google review
Security lines are short, but the bathrooms are dirty and have no hooks for backpacks, and the worst part is they have removed all the water fountains. I guess coke brand owns the airport now because can’t even fill up your bottle.
David P — Google review
This airport was great! The decorations made you feel immediately at home and gave you a Vibe of Louisiana. They were very helpful for me to find my rental car area and it literally took almost no time I was off the plane in my car and on the road in less than an hour. No problem leaving from here either they had everything organized. They were even a few small souvenir shops so I could get those last minute gifts to take home. I would definitely recommend this airport as one of the cleanest and best that I have been in. It is almost worth making a trip just to this airport to see some of the artwork that they have here
