Park
Nature & Parks
Richmond Park is an expansive walled park that was originally a 17th-century hunting ground and is still home to hundreds of deer. The area also boasts notable edifices such as Hampton Court, Richmond Palace, White Lodge, and Strawberry Hill. Additionally, visitors can explore Kew Gardens and the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington. The park offers stunning views from King Henrys Mound and provides a variety of dining options in the surrounding area.
Such a beautiful beautiful park! It’s so vast that you can walk around for the whole day and there’ll still be places left unexplored. It’s hands down one of the best green spaces in London. The park has this peaceful, wild atmosphere that’s hard to find in London. There are open grasslands, wooded areas, little ponds, and loads of walking and cycling paths that can keep you exploring for hours. If you’re lucky, you will find deer casually wandering around. You can walk, run, bike, or simple chill under a tree, it feels amazing to do so, connecting with nature and with your own thoughts. You can also get some great views over London from King Henry’s Mound. I went on a sunny weekend and the crowd wasn’t much as expected. The park is so big that if you walk a bit further in, you’ll always find quiet spots. And if you are a Ted Lasso fan, you’ll find places in Richmond that you’d have seen in the series. Highly recommend the place!
Ankitha C — Google review
Richmond Park is one of my favorite escapes from the city—it feels like stepping into the countryside without actually leaving London. The best part has to be the wildlife. Seeing the deer up close is always a bit magical, especially when they’re just calmly grazing or wandering across the paths like they own the place. There are also loads of birds and little hidden corners where you can spot rabbits or just enjoy the quiet. Every time I go, it feels a bit different depending on the season. Food-wise, there are a couple of really good spots to grab something. I love stopping at Pembroke Lodge for a coffee or lunch—it’s got such a nice view and a relaxed vibe. But honestly, bringing a picnic is just as fun because the park has endless space to spread out. It’s easy to find your own little patch of grass where you can sit for ages, people-watch, or just enjoy being surrounded by all that green. The Isabella Plantation is definitely a highlight if you like gardens. In spring it’s absolutely bursting with color, but even outside of that, it’s such a calm and pretty place to wander around. The little streams and winding paths make it feel really tucked away, almost like a secret garden. Between the open fields, the wildlife, and spots like this, Richmond Park always feels like a proper day out—peaceful but never boring.

I visited Richmond Park last Saturday and had an amazing time. It’s such a peaceful place where you can truly relax and enjoy nature🏔️🏝️. You can go jogging, cycling, or even horse riding there. I saw beautiful birds, deer, and lots of other wildlife . it’s the perfect spot to unwind and feel refreshed.🏕️🏝️

I feel so fortunate to live near such a beautiful place and its amazing to have such a large slice of nature with deer roaming around withing London. Equally beautiful in every season and perfect place for dog walking. Also seems to be better managed in recent years with upgraded cafes, improved signs and traffic control measures.
Lukas V — Google review
100% recommend strolling through Richmond Park. Very peaceful. Full of wildlife. The deer are beautiful and quite tolerant to people. Great escape from the busyness of the city and not far away. Don’t miss out on this one. Definitely a hidden gem if you are visiting the area.

One of my favourite places in London, to spend time away from busy city but in the same time being so close to... Great place to recharge, relax and watch beautiful and majestic animals such a deers are, besides so many different types of birds, squirrels. Isabella Plantation, it is in the middle of Park I would recommend any time of the year. Just beautiful.
Anna K — Google review
Richmond Park is absolutely amazing! 🦌 It’s such a beautiful and peaceful place where you can see lots of deer up close — from cute baby deer to huge stags that you definitely shouldn’t get too close to! 😅 The park is massive, and you can easily spend a whole day exploring it. Besides the deer, there are stunning gardens, beautiful trees, and so many lovely walking paths to enjoy nature at its best. 🌳🌸 It was such a wonderful experience — I totally recommend visiting this gorgeous park. You’ll love every minute of it!
M K — Google review
We absolutely love coming here. It’s gorgeous in the autumn and the dogs love it. There are a lot of cyclists on the weekend - many of which can be inconsiderate of pedestrians and ride dangerously. The authorities should have stricter controls on them before there is an accident. But apart from that, a fairy tale royal park

Shopping
The Bentall Centre in Kingston is a spacious mall that combines international retail stores, restaurants, and services. It seamlessly blends a Victorian department store with a modern shopping mall, offering a relaxed shopping experience. The centre includes popular high street chains and its own department store called Bentalls, which features beauty products, homewares, and more. Additionally, the mall hosts various events and pop-ups such as food markets and art displays.
Afternoon shop and bop. Really enjoyed looking around the shopping centre. Some lovely shops with lovely displays, as shops are now getting ready for Christmas. One other reason for visiting was to see the recent statues dotted around the town. As we walked around we came across the mini Christmas village, it was really lovely and got me into the Christmas mood. We sat, had a drink after looking around the Christmas market.

Nice Centre (shopping mall) in Kingston UK with different shops, and restaurants. Love the pistachio gelato 🍧 and Apple Store is well equipped.

I was extremely impressed with this mall. its got a great range of units from clothing to restaurants. Access throughout is brilliant its perfect for disabled users. The layout flies really well creating a vibrant and fresh feel. The cleanliness is spotless throughout also. Fenwick is a good store to visit. And if you want a coffee I recommend McDonald's on lower floor as its very quiet.

Kingston upon Thames is a charming riverside town that blends historic character with modern convenience. Known for its rich royal heritage it was once a coronation site for Saxon kings. Kingston boasts beautiful architecture, a vibrant town center, and a lovely stretch of the Thames ideal for riverside walks or boat trips. The shopping is a major draw, with a mix of high street brands, independent boutiques, and a bustling market. Dining options are diverse, from cozy cafes to upscale restaurants, and there’s a strong arts presence, anchored by the Rose Theatre.

Bentalls Shopping Centre is a great place for a relaxed shopping trip. There’s a wide range of stores, from high-street favourites to more premium brands, all under one roof. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, and there are plenty of food options nearby for a quick bite or a proper meal. Always a reliable stop for shopping in Kingston.

The Bentall Centre is a fantastic shopping destination! With a wide variety of stores, from high-end fashion to everyday essentials, there's something for everyone. The layout is spacious and easy to navigate, making shopping a breeze. I particularly enjoyed the selection of dining options available, perfect for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, and the staff in the shops are always friendly and helpful. Plus, the location in the heart of Kingston adds to its appeal. I highly recommend visiting the Bentall Centre for a great shopping experience!

The Bentall Centre in Kingston is honestly such a comfortable and pleasant place to spend time, especially on a rainy day. I love that it’s completely covered, so you can shop around without worrying about the weather. It’s warm, bright, and has that cozy feeling that makes you want to stay longer. There’s a really good mix of shops, from big name brands to smaller boutiques where you can find something a bit different. I can always find what I need, whether it’s clothes, gifts or something for the house. The layout is easy to walk through, and it never feels too crowded, even on busy weekends. One thing I always notice is how clean everything is. The toilets are spotless and the baby changing rooms are honestly some of the best I’ve seen in any shopping centre. It’s clear that they take cleanliness and comfort seriously. I also really like that there are nice places to sit, grab a coffee, or just take a break between shops. The cafes inside make the whole experience even better. The Bentall Centre isn’t just for shopping. it’s one of those places where you can relax, enjoy your time, and forget about the weather outside. Definitely one of my favourite spots in Kingston..

The Boaters Inn is a charming riverside pub located in the picturesque Canbury Gardens, just a short walk from central Kingston. It features a delightful beer garden overlooking the Thames and backing onto the park, as well as a tranquil balcony where you can enjoy stunning sunset views. This cozy establishment offers microbrewed pints, delectable food, and live jazz on Sundays.
We had such a lovely time at The Boaters Inn. The Sunday roasts were generous, beautifully cooked and full of flavour – proper crispy roast potatoes, tender meat and all the trimmings. Even the bread and olives to start were a nice touch. What really stood out, though, was the atmosphere. It’s so refreshing to be somewhere where the staff genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. Everyone was warm, smiley and welcoming – which made the experience feel extra special. Huge shout-out to Sol and Courtney, who looked after us brilliantly. We left full, happy and already planning our next visit!

Lovely pub with an outdoor terrace area for seating. Was really busy and we unfortunately didn't book but thankfully the staff managed to get us a table inside. The food was okay'ish, I say better to have a drink here and walk in to Kingston for a bite to eat. Felt like it was quite overpriced in my opinion. It had such lovely views of the river so will definitely come back for a drink more than the food next time.

Where do I even begin🤦🏻‍♀️😫 *From sitting down, waiting a fair bit of time then having to wave our arms about to find someone to take our drinks order to then being told that they couldn’t make me a Shandy as they didn’t have any lemonade. *Then sorry, not more crab linguine. *Brother in laws chicken roast a bit dry. *Sad, stale roast potatoes. *All meat for beef roast so underdone that it was hard to cut even with the steak knives provided. *One roast plate had barely any gravy but far too hard to find anyone to ask for more so just landed up eating it. *Constant waving of arms & calling out to get any service at all even though there are about 4 servers next to us having a fat chat which is infuriating. *All ordered dessert-Panna cotta with poached pear & yoghurt flakes came out as Panna cotta with tinned peaches & strange sour yoghurt sweets, no sorry or explanation. The actual panna cotta part was delicious, let down by the other components. *More waving of arms to get service *A positive though was that the ice cream balls are huge!!!! 1 will be enough as a dessert for most people. *The setting & view is also wonderful Honestly not great experience all round but didn’t want to complain at the time as it was a treat from my In laws & I didn’t want to seem like I had an awful time as that would upset them. I definitely wouldn’t return unless I was just ordering a drink from the bar.

£73 for 2 of the worst roasts my partner and I have ever had. I had order the lamb roast, here is everything that was wrong with it: -Stale cold soggy roast potatoes -Lamb tasted like boiled liver (take that as you will) and you can tell it was cooked with no herbs or even salt. -Gravy was watery and no flavour -Yorkshire was soggy -Over cooked sad carrots and I couldn’t make out what the other veg was -Stuffing was ok, only thing that mildly have any flavour My partner ordered the chicken roast. The chicken was acceptable, it was juicy and edible at least. The veg was the same as my lamb roast. We also ordered cauliflower cheese which was bland and cold. The entire meal was luke warm / borderline cold. When I had told our waiter, he kindly replaced the lamb meal with another one. But it was just as bad, only now just microwaved (potatoes still cold inside) It’s a shame as we last came in December and the roast dinner here was lovely, hence why we decided to come back. The service here was lovely as usual and our waiter was brilliant. Unfortunately won’t be coming back for a roast again! Disappointed and miserable!

We had a brilliant experience at The Boaters Inn! From start to finish the service was outstanding. Sarah and Sol looked after us so well – friendly, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. The food and drinks were fantastic, the atmosphere was relaxed yet lively, and the riverside setting made it even more special. We felt really welcomed and well cared for throughout. Thank you to Sarah, Sol and the whole team for making our visit such a pleasure – we’ll definitely be back!

Pubs by the river don't get much better than The Boaters Inn! 🍻 On the Thames within the beautiful Canbury park, truly local, offers a cosy atmosphere at night and an amazing view for sunny days by the water. The food is excellent, with the Korean-style fried chicken being a must-try, and the charcuterie board is really good as well. Super friendly staff !! Highly recommended! 🌅🍗

Lovely place very warm, with very warm staff. I think a staff members child was on side as well and he was very polite despite being fairly young. Lovely food options which I didn’t try this time but as a first time visitor I’d say there’s a bit of something for everyone here .

The Grey Horse - Smok'd is a popular pub in Kingston that offers BBQ, burgers, and a wide selection of whisky. It features a chill space for live bands and comedy shows. The pub is known for its bustling front bar and open kitchen BBQ restaurant, as well as the blues-thumping Ram Jam Records live music venue at the rear.
Went in with zero expectations, but the food was amazing. Every dish was rich in flavor, with a well-balanced mix of marinades and herbs. However, I have to deduct 0.5 stars—my condolences to my hearing. The music was so loud; I’m genuinely concerned for the staff.

Ordered the pitmaster feast sharing platter, portion was just perfect for me and my partner, service was great. Within the platter everything was great besides the bbq baby ribs which was a bit of a disappointment as it was a quite dry. There was also an open mic night in the other room and i loved the fact that whilst dining the atmosphere was very calm and quiet. Overall a very good place to dine out.
Thi L — Google review
Not a good experience- I had heard good things about the food here, but it must have been an off day for them because it was not good at all. My friend’s burger was tiny and dry (for £16!) and her sweet potato wedges were clearly burnt. When she asked for this to be exchanged she was told they were “caramelised” and nothing was done about this. I ordered beef brisket with a friend who had had this before. It was tough and not at all like what my friend had had before. Having seen the photos on google from other reviewers it’s clear that we came on a bad day as the quality of food was significantly worse. Very disappointing given the price of the food. The open mic and the pub is great though!

Wow! Lovely pub with a great drink selection and home to genuinely one of the best bbq meals I’ve ever had. Split a sharing platter with 2 friends for lunch - perfect amount of food and for £55 between us was great value. Will definitely be returning.

Sarah and Holly were amazing, ther service was AMAZING! The food was 10 out of 10, the venue has a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe, all the are friendly and its really good value for money. Overall it is on of the best night I have had, I would highly recommend visiting this place.

Decided to take my son here after seeing a review on YouTube by Gary Eats. We had both decided that we wanted the beef rib but our server suggested the smoked combo which we decided against. We also ordered 2 sides of skinny fries and onion rings. The beef rib while tender was fairly bland and not much taste, the onion rings were good and plenty of them. I know this wasn't the restaurants fault but there was a guy sitting behind us who's every other word was the F word, not nice when the place is fairly empty and it was a friend of the server. Would I go back? Maybe if I was in the area.
Paul B — Google review
Consistently brilliant food, portions. Great selection of whisky and beers on tap. A real (not so) hidden gem in Kingston and always a treat to visit. Additionally, visited with two young children - the kids portions are very decent sized and they were very accommodating (albeit it was quiet). (Pictured - Beef Rib Roast and (partially eaten, sorry) Pork Belly Roast)

I do like this place usually, but last time I ordered some wings they were damp and measly, like they'd been clipped from a paralysed pigeon and fried in water. But in fairness the food is usually pretty good and the drinks are fine 👍

Fast food restaurant
Tortilla Kingston is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic California-style Mexican cuisine. This vibrant eatery specializes in mouthwatering burritos and tacos, offering options like fresh naked burrito bowls that cater to various tastes. Recently, during a bustling free burrito promotion, the staff showcased their exceptional organization skills, efficiently managing long lines while ensuring customer satisfaction. Guests appreciated the friendly service from team members like Nasco, who went above and beyond to help create personalized meals and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
Really Appreciated Nasco’s Service, He Welcomed My Friend & I From The Entrance & Made It Easy To Create The Ideal Burrito For Our Individual Needs. As Well As Facilitating Our Needs With Our Table, Going Above & Beyond. Definitely Be Back 👌🏾

Disappointing portion control (meat) Watching the staff at Tortilla fill a burrito with meat is genuinely baffling. Don’t get me wrong, they are generous with rice, beans etc… but my word they are tight with the meat. They’re equipped with a ladle clearly designed to portion properly—but you’d think it was a delicate archaeological dig the way they barely scoop anything up. They’ll do two or three (tiny) scoops to give the impression they are being generous, then drop half of it back in the tub before anything even reaches your wrap. It feels more like a performance than food prep—and not a good one. Ask for a bit more and you’re either charged extra or given a token gesture, like they’re handing out gold dust. A full ladle of chicken shouldn’t be an upgrade—it should be the baseline. I get it—cost control matters. But there’s a difference between managing margins and short-changing your customers.
Dan A — Google review
I’d rather eat at Burrito & Co in the market place but it was raining quite hard. £11 for a large chicken burrito with guacamole, and it tastes ok, but you’ll struggle to be served by more uninterested staff, and it’s not a particularly nice environment to eat. The Tortilla in Guildford is so much nicer. Overall it was fine. Edit: how to know a company only pays lip service to their service and has no intention of making any improvements is that they ask you to copy and paste your Google review to a generic email address. But it’s ok, they included an emoji, they’re cool.
Andy W — Google review
I’m pregnant and I ordered Tortilla for dinner. I waited almost an hour for my food to come, updates kept telling me my food was being prepared, then that the courier was at the restaurant. I then got a text message saying my order was cancelled after 48 minutes of waiting! Unbelievable!! Why did you wait so long to contact me?? This service was disgraceful and I would never recommend your restaurant to anybody. I will do the opposite and tell everybody to avoid it!!
Short L — Google review
I was at Tortilla for the free burrito promotion yesterday and I just came to say the staff on duty we’re just incredible. As you can imagine the line was out the door and down the street but they were so organised and handled the crowds so efficiently we were in and out so quickly. They were considerate of the restaurant next door making sure the line didn’t block their entrance and I could see staff walking up and down the line checking everything was okay and dealing with any issues. And the food was fab too! Thanks tortilla staff you deserve a bonus for your brilliant work

Sushi restaurant
Obon - Sushi & Udon is a cozy Japanese restaurant located on Richmond Road in Kingston. The name is inspired by the traditional Japanese festival celebrating ancestors with food and dancing. The restaurant offers a variety of Japanese delicacies including sushi, sashimi, udon, and more. Guests can enjoy expertly rolled sushi such as hosomaki, uramaki, and futomaki or opt for adventurous options like raw fish donburi or grilled eel.
Excellent quality ingredients and very authentic Japanese sushi. Still the best sushi place in Kingston! Highly recommend the Chef's Omakase sushi selection. Tables are normally always fully booked so recommend to call and book ahead before visiting.

I heard a good review about this place and came to check out but was appalled by Tempura udon. The Prawn was cooked not Crispy and lacked firmer flesh. it was soggy and the tempura coating was more like a rice flour and very white. The food was way over priced. The fish was better but the sushi roll did not keep the shape as the rice lacked 10% stickiness.
Ji-Eun O — Google review
We recently moved to the area and wanted to try some new restaurants and this place will firmly be staying on our go to list. The place has great tasting upon and rolls but the big seller was the sashimi. They are fresh and they do not skimp out on size. We got the Obon sashimi set, tempura udon, salon and spring onion hosomaki and the dragon roll. With 2 drinks, this came to £40/person which was very reasonable. I highly recommend this place!

Hidden gem in Kingston!! We tried many Japanese sushi restaurants in the UK, this is the best! Sashimi is fresh, fatty and tasty! Sushi with big piece of fish. Hot udon with tempura smells really good! warm environment with friendly staff. Big table. Personally I think must try if you like sushi and sashimi! Great place to go! Only thing is need to find parking nearby.

Beautifully presented and delicious food. Lovely and attentive staff. Great selections and variety on the platters served in good timings. Generous amounts when compared to other sushi restaurants. Drinks selection limited but excellently paired. Cosey environment with a small number of tables (must book in advance to avoid disappointment). Have been back multiple times and recommended to friends who have also had great experiences. Probably the best sushi for miles and that's saying something on London.

Sticks'n'Sushi in Kingston is part of a growing chain that has made a name for itself in southwest London and Surrey. The restaurant offers a unique fusion of traditional Japanese sushi and sashimi with elegant Danish architecture, creating an exceptional dining experience.
I’ve noticed this restaurant in both Richmond and Kingston but had never gone inside—until today, and I’m so glad I did! The food was fantastic, and the staff’s service was top-notch. Their menu offers an incredible variety, with something for everyone. The waitress was well-versed in all the dishes and gave me a perfect recommendation based on my tastes. It’s a great spot for both vegetarians and meat lovers—you won’t be disappointed! Be sure to download their app, and who knows, if you’re charming, you might score a free dessert 😉. It’s definitely a place to enjoy delicious food with cool friends!

Really great sushi- a bit on the pricey side but fantastic service and lovely atmosphere. Good food like the lobster and ikura sushi and fish yakitori. Service is quick and efficient! Recommend for easy and relaxing dinner.

Obsessed with this place. The menu has so many creative options, and each dish was beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Highly recommend!

We have dined in another 4 of your restaurants but this one was the best. The food arrived in the order we asked for it to arrive. The whole meal was faultless and the server couldn't be more charming and efficient.

Went in for some sushi when I was visiting from Saudi Arabia. Really great interior and atmosphere. We were seated quickly with a warm welcome. Waiters went through the menu with us to help us order. We were given hot towels before our meals. We went for the 'Maki Maki' , plenty for two people i think (depends how hungry). We got a lemonade and a mojito (cant remember the name) but it was delicious! The sushi was fresh and delicious so obviously prices were slightly above average. No fishy taste or smell at all! Staff were friendly and understanding, catered for our needs. Made sure all ingredients in our order was halal and alcohol containing sauces/foods were removed.

We have visited a couple of times, once for a birthday party and again for dinner. Food is good, service ok. Great atmosphere but really we visited for the food! Recommend the ceviche.
Meera P — Google review
Great lunch and great tasting sushi and yakiniku. Upon arrival, the staff immediately gets you a seat. It was the right amount of busy on a sunny Saturday but staff are attentive about our needs. They even give you warm towels to wipe your hands before your meal starts. Menu is on a pricey side so we didn’t order any drinks. You will understand based on all service, food, and atmosphere combined the reason. It was a great service overall. Although the food didn’t come all at once, which is what I would prefer as I like to see all my food in one place, we didn’t wait too long for the rest of our food. We had ordered the set meals plus 1 rice bowl and honestly, everything was so good. Price range around £45 per person which is not bad. Highly recommend and will surely come back!

Nice modern Japanese food with nice presentation but does not have a big selection of raw fishes. For example no Toro, Hamachi, Uni and other prime raw fishes and no special Japanese beef either. Fun tasty food but not gourmet.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
Great Fish and Chips is a popular spot that has seen changes in management, but now it's back to its original standard. The new owner has brought back the quality that made it a favorite when it first opened. They have also been providing food for local events, offering friendly service and generous portions of fresh, hot food. Customers praise the freshly cooked fish and generously sized chips, making it their top choice in the area.
I’ve tried the two other, neighbouring Fish & Chip spots in the area, and although both are of an acceptable standard, this place definitely has the edge. Whilst their Cod is melt-in-the mouth gorgeous (and encapsulated in an adequately crunchy batter) it’s their chips that distinguishes them from their competitors. They’re just something else man.

Fantastic service and great food from Great Fish and Chips on Ham Parade! I ordered over the phone and was given a clear time slot for collection—when I arrived, everything was freshly prepared and ready as promised. I had haddock, chips, and peas, and the portion size and quality were both excellent—amazing value for money. The shop was spotless, and the staff were professional, friendly, chatty, and efficient. A really lovely experience all round. Highly recommended!
Louisa M — Google review
We came as a group of four and ordered a half-pounder burger, a large cod, haddock, and scampi. For sides, we had large chips, mushy peas, and gravy. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It seems like a family-run business, which makes the experience even warmer. Easily the best in Kingston and Richmond!

We have been coming to this fish and chips place for a long time and it is always tasty. The portion size is fair and so are the prices. The service is very friendly and we can highly recommend this place to enjoy a lively fish and chips each time.

Hampton Court Palace, originally built for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey in the 16th century, became a royal residence when King Henry VIII confiscated it. The palace boasts Tudor and Baroque architecture and was used by British monarchs until the 18th century. Visitors can explore its numerous rooms through self-guided tours organized by themes. The palace's gardens, tennis court, and hedge maze are also popular attractions.
Hampton Court Palace is a magnificent historic site full of Tudor charm and rich history. The gardens are stunning and perfect for a leisurely walk. The palace interiors are grand, showcasing beautiful architecture and fascinating exhibitions. Staff are mostly helpful, though some areas could be improved for visitor engagement. The audio guide enhances the experience. A great day out for history lovers and families alike, though ticket prices are a bit steep

Was able to visit this vast historic ground that was the Palace of King Henry Vlll some 500yrs ago. Took pictures of the ongoing renovations, the river canal with pier, the gardens Hampton Court Palace, located on the River Thames in southwest London, is one of England’s most famous royal palaces with a rich and complex history: Early History: Built in 1514 by Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, the powerful chief minister to King Henry VIII. Wolsey transformed the site into a lavish Renaissance palace, but as he fell out of favor with the king, he gifted it to Henry VIII in 1528 to avoid disgrace. Tudor Era: Henry VIII greatly expanded the palace, making it one of his main residences. He added the Great Hall, Tudor kitchens, and royal apartments. It was a favorite residence of his and played host to numerous important events, including marriages, births, and political dealings. Stuart Period: Under James I and Charles I, the palace remained a royal residence. Charles I was imprisoned at Hampton Court briefly before his execution in 1649. Baroque Transformation: In the late 1600s, William III and Mary II commissioned architect Sir Christopher Wren to modernize the palace in the Baroque style, intending to rival Versailles. Much of the Tudor palace was replaced, but the project was never fully completed, leaving a unique blend of Tudor and Baroque architecture. Later Use and Preservation: The palace ceased being a royal residence in the 18th century, though it housed grace-and-favor residents (people granted accommodation by the monarch) for many years. In the 19th century, it opened to the public as a historic site. Today Hampton Court Palace is managed by Historic Royal Palaces and is a major tourist attraction. Visitors can explore the Tudor kitchens, Haunted Gallery, maze, gardens, and royal apartments, offering insight into over 500 years of royal history.

It’s a great day out with a lot to see and do, however it was a little lacking especially when considering value for money. We went during Halloween and a lot of effort was made for that which was great. The cafes served good food was a good selection but was on the pricey side! Facilities were good and staff were friendly and helpful. They have. Car park but you have to get there early, we just kissed out but there is car parking at the train station just over the bridge.
Rakesh P — Google review
If you want to explore a beautifully maintained castle with an abundance of history then this is a place you need to visit when in London. An easy 45min Train ride from central London gets you here. Tickets include an audio guide with multiple tour options covering the history of the palace, the Tudor Dynasty and descriptions of the many ornate rooms. The Palace and grounds are sprawling so expect to spend at least a half a day here.
Taren K — Google review
Really disappointed in this whole experience. We went on a Friday, it was pretty busy but not entirely unexpected. We felt like there was a lot of emphasis put on Henry VIII's palace, however, there seemed little reference to him living there overall. There wasn't any atmosphere and a lot of rooms were empty - it just looked quite empty overall. It was also extremely hot inside, and the lack of airflow was stifling. We thought it would be a loy more regal and extravagant than what was on offer. We were extremely disappointed to learn that the banqueting hall and other areas are currently closed to the public. Bearing in mind our tickets were £80.00 for 3 adults, we didn't feel that we got overall value for money. The gift shop was much of a muchness, usual expensive crap made in China. The cafe was ridiculously expensive for the quality of food on offer, and flies were crawling all over the food on display which had not been covered up. The vegetable patch and gardens were fabulous and the highlight of the day, the exterior architecture is fabulous aside from that, thoroughly disappointed. The staff were also grumpy and not very forthcoming in sharing and tips or highlights, and we were made to feel an inconvenience for asking questions.
Sunny F — Google review
Meh. OK, I'm glad we went only to say that we've been, and the gardens (even in November) and the Royal Chapel (the highlight of the visit for us) were wonderful, but everything else was pretty blah, even with the all the history. Lots of empty rooms. Plus at 28 pounds a person (oy!!), it was a big hit to the budget. It was overrun by school tour groups on the day we went, which didn't help either. Save your money and join the National Trust instead.
Howard S — Google review
Nowhere else in the world will you find a Tudor palace seamlessly paired with a Baroque one. For anyone interested in English history and architecture, this is among the very best places to visit. The palace is currently undergoing renovation, which is expected to be completed next June. If you can wait, it may be worth coming back then.
Wilhelm L — Google review
A great day out. The staff are very knowledgeable, approachable and enthusiastic. The kitchen garden and formal gardens are excellent, lots of fabulous art on display. You can get a free audio tour if you want, or just wander. You can buy food there, but it isn't cheap - BLT baguette cost me an eye-watering £9.50. It was very nice, but, wow! You can park in the grounds, but you will need to book. There is a second official car park 5 minutes walk away that doesn't need booking. The cost of car parking was £1.80an hour. We paid for 7 hours and had just under an hour to spare. PS - when you're outside, don't forget to look up! The chimney stacks on the palace are amazing! PPS - it's cheaper if you book on line, and cheaper if your children had Blue Peter badges.

The venue features laid-back bars, a spacious conservatory, and hosts various events such as drinks nights, open mic sessions, live music on Fridays, and sports screenings on numerous HD screens. With its ideal location by the Thames, it provides excellent views of the river.
Had a great time at the mill. The staff were amazing, in particular Cali the manager who went well out of her way to help us locate our lost poodle. Food was great and service was amazing. Would recommend to anyone

Love coming to The Mill, not just for the £3 a drink happy hour every weekday (but that does help!) Lots of space to sit and chill, work or whatever like. Excellent views of the river! Hidden gem of Kingston. Service and staff are always fantastic, never have any problem at all with the service and welcoming vibe every time. Food menu is quite limited and don't get cutlery etc by default, it's what I'd say is perfect pub food and not fine dining. Which I'd point out that this place is not trying to be that, so take note - cheap for a reason! Its rare for first choice of food to be available, and most of the menu isn't. It would help to have a menu of the things actually available and not a generic brand one. Drinks are what this places does really well.... highly recommended! Could do with a bit of maintenance attention when comes to the toilets. Gets trashed and is a bit grim at times with water on floor. Great to see hand dryer fixed now. 4* review. It really can't be a 5* through no fault of anyone working today, needs some improvement on menus and food and the toilets.
Chris — Google review
This was, without a doubt, one of the worst meals I have ever been served in a pub. The nachos were a disaster – stale, soggy, with rubbery cheese and a guacamole that tasted like it came from the bottom of a week-old fridge. The burger was an absolute disgrace: burnt to a crisp on the outside, bone-dry on the inside, and completely inedible. The charred taste overpowered everything and left a bitter aftertaste. Presentation was sloppy, portions were poor, and the overall quality was appalling. Save yourself the disappointment – there are far better places nearby that actually know how to serve fresh, edible food. Avoid this place at all costs.
Alexey F — Google review
Booked a table for a group of 10 for lunch after Kingston Half Marathon, which they didn't even bother to set up, claiming that the place was empty so why bother? Not surprised it was empty, half the menu was out of stock, nothing was offered as replacement for parts of a dish that were missing. I mean check out the amount of 'Burger sauce' on one of our burgers 😂. Drinks served in dirty glasses. Honestly just all round the laziest and most half-assed service i've ever experienced. I would be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just an off day as this place in general has alright reviews, but it was just such a let down on a day we were hoping to have a good celebration.

Nice staff! Food did the job but the atmosphere sold it to me! Being new to Kingston and not knowing where to go, I found a good place in the mill! Got pool and the football was on it was a great time all in all!

Yesterday, my friends and I tried to come in for a pint, the door supervisor asked to see our ID's. When presented with a valid driver's licence and identity card, he asked if we had a british ID. When we explained that we are not English, thus would not have an English ID, he asked to see our passports, or photos of passports. When given the proof, he spent a few minutes comparing the id's and pictures of passports, then he tried to confirm again if none of us actually had and English ID. When we repeatedly explained, that we are not English, he declined entrance. When I said that this was racist and discriminatory- he laughed. Under the equality act 2010, and common sense, this is discrimination, and illegal to do so. Places like that should not exist and this whole experience was humiliating and demeaning.

Food excellent Reasons it is marked down, It is not disability accessible, steep stairs up to the toilet and stairs down to the restaurant. There were 2 of us dining. Younger waiter let us sit at a larger table set for 2. My son being 6ft 4 needed more leg room..I am disabled and needed the space to get in and out of seat. Bossy manager came and ordered us off the table onto a small square table. He was impolite and no pleasantries at all. There were lots of larger tables also set for 2 people. They remained empty for the duration of our meal. A couple came into the restaurant and lo and behold the bossy man, assume he was the manager let them sit where we were moved from. How come? The younger waiter was very polite and accommodating and offered to take our order. Again the rude senior man came, pushed him aside and told him "I am taking the order". Totally undermining his staff in public. When we asked for the bill he stood with his back to us, no eye contact no polite "here is your bill thank you very much" etc. We did not tip. I do not like his unfriendly personality. We are good people. We deserve respect especially as we are at his business. Unlikely to return. It spoilt the atmosphere. I was celebrating or trying to, my sons birthday plus plus his success as he is doing well as a medical research scientist helping to develop the treatment of cancer and save lives. We may be just a customer to him, but my son may save his life one day. Don't be mean to your customers. He started to chat at the end to find out about us but too little too late.

This place is rightly called the Riverside . The view from the restaurant is beautiful. They have excellent variety of vegan and vegetarian Indian food. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. If possible choose outdoor seating, view of the river is something you wouldn't want to miss We ordered one my favourite Indian food - Masala Dose , and requested the staff to make a bit spicy. Chutney was spicy! Though dosa was not what I was expecting, I thoroughly enjoyed the taste. Sambhar had the consistency of dal and potato curry were delicious. A small portion salad was provided. Again , I wasn't expecting it, but it complimented the dosa, curry, chutney and thick sambhar!

We came here on a Thursday lunchtime to celebrate our anniversary. There was a good vibe and the restaurant was buzzing. Opted for the five course tasting menu which is very reasonably priced. The standouts were the salmon and prawn terrine, the trout with asparagus risotto and the cardamom custard tart.

Was very kindly gifted a voucher but unfortunately time lapsed due to family circumstances so I reached out to TFT not expecting for them to extend it no qualms ! That was just the start of this positive experience. We decided to book for our birthday’s and I’m so glad we did. From being greeting so handsomely at the door to being introduced to the waiting staff it was completely flawless and impeccable. To some these little details may well be overlooked but to us we were extremely balled over. We had the pleasure of being looked after by Winnie , Hannah ( who goodness knows how recited the ingredients so eloquently and precise ) and Emily. Winnie ensured that our every need was seen to and was extremely personable . Now the star of the show goes to the gifted chefs who seldom get recognition for the beautiful food they articulately put together. The food was beyond anything my palate has the pleasure of greeting ! I would definitely recommend the taster menu it’s incredible! I just want to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved for making our birthday a truly memorable one. The little touches like the confetti on the table and the personalised menu’s did not go unnoticed. With all this in mind I know this will be the start of many visits and can wholly see why this beautiful little restaurant is as popular as it is. A huge thanks again! Len & Maria.

Booked a table last minute at The French Table and they manage to accommodate us for a colleagues birthday , from start to finish everything was merticulous. Great ambiance and the place is not overcrowded with many tables, they have 2 floors but the place is not too big. I asked for extras to be added on our table and in under 30 minutes they delivered. We had personalised menues with colleagues name on it. Everything i asked for, they delivered. Would definately visit again. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a Michelin type of a restaurant. Tasting menus, wine paring, good food, everything is just so done to perfection, the staff are so friendly.

Just a stone's throw from Kingston Upon Thames, it serves as an ideal retreat after exploring the vibrant culture and history of South-west London.
We had dinner outside by the water. The food took a long time to arrive, but it was unexpectedly tasty and beautifully presented. The only downside is that you only see the waiter when the food is served — for cutlery, extra drinks, or order clarifications you need to go to the nice bar counter yourself. You can order via QR code, but that takes even longer.

We went for a Sunday Roast. We got the trio of roasts and it was very good. However, the pork belly slice was tiny! It was a small cube of 1 inch by 1 inch - I do wished there would be more of that. The signature sodas were good too and the trio of desserts were also a great little treat for 2 to share. Overall, I would recommend!

⸻ Eden Walk, located in the heart of Kingston Town Centre, is very convenient with a good variety of essential shops and supermarkets, including Sainsbury’s, Boots, and Marks & Spencer. It also has what I believe to be the biggest British Heart Foundation charity shop in the area. The centre provides useful facilities such as parking, toilets, and food options. Just outside, you’ll also find Primark and Healey’s, making it a really handy spot for shoppers

Visitors can also enjoy seasonal entertainment and indulge in street food while exploring the cosy cabins. Visiting Kingston Market at Christmas time was an absolute joy! The market truly comes alive during the festive season, with twinkling lights, decorated stalls, and a warm, bustling atmosphere. The holiday spirit is in full swing, making it the perfect place to get into the Christmas mood. One of the highlights for me was the live music, which added such a great atmosphere. The festive tunes really brought the place to life and made the experience even more enjoyable. The variety of stalls is impressive, offering everything from unique gifts and handcrafted items to delicious festive goodies. The aroma alone was enough to draw you in! The market’s location in the heart of Kingston adds to its charm, beautifully complementing the festive decor. Whether you’re shopping for gifts, enjoying some holiday food, or just soaking up the lively atmosphere, Kingston Market at Christmas is a must-visit. Cocktail bar
Located in Kingston upon Thames, Incognito is a trendy cocktail destination with a tropical rainforest theme. The venue offers an extensive selection of mixed drinks, spirits, and craft beers. Guests can enjoy a multi-sensory experience with speakeasy tunes and exquisite cocktails until the early hours. Each cocktail is presented theatrically and comes with its own story, providing an aesthetically pleasing and flavorful experience.
Wow, what a fun and unique place. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we entered the door. Great staff and company. The 1930s theme was so nicely done and a cocktail menu like no other, every drink is an experience and you want to explore them all. We had the pleasure of being served by Olivia who added a positive touch to the whole experience and was very professional. This place (to make it perfect) needs a live singer, burlesque act or table magician. Something to hold on to the crowd late through the night. A fun swing band setup in the corner with two sets until late.

Quirky vibes, unforgettable cocktails! 🍸 Ordered a drink and got a shot at a prize machine won something too! Each cocktail’s a one-off creation you won’t find anywhere else. The whole experience felt playful and original. If you're into surprises and standout sips, this spot’s a must. Already planning my next visit.

Great atmosphere and beautifully designed cocktail presentations. We had tried the pink star, butterfly effect, the great escape, along for the ride and 2 more cocktails ( I can't remember the names). Some presentations exceed the success of the tastes unfortunately. So it's a lottery:) but the vibes are worth it.

Deserving of the 5 star. A signature experience worthy of the price tag. You walk back in time as you enter. The atmosphere of a cocktail bar in London is unmatched. Although expensive, this is designed to be a treat. And boy, does it feel like one! A must visit. Bonus points for the spectacular toilets.

Must-visit spot! 🍹 The cocktails are amazing – strong, creative, and totally worth it for the alcohol content. The whole vibe is fun and unique, making it stand out from other bars. Pre-booking is definitely recommended as it gets busy. A great place in London if you’re looking for something different and memorable!

My friends and I had the best time ever here! The decor is amazing and everyone is so nice, it really feels like you are in a jazz bar in the 50s and yet it’s still modern at the same time which is so cool. We will definitely be returning!

The fanciest and most imaginative pub that makes you have a transient escape of the reality. Climb up the stairs and you will see a dark green door with golden snakes handle. Seems to be a desirable stop after a long walk in Richmond Park. We went on a Thursday night at around 8pm and stay until 10pm. It’s not too full on a weekday. Can sit comfortably and enjoy the magical vibes. We ordered the ferris wheel 🎡(£17) which is a peach 🍑 cocktail and tastes quite nice. It comes with a lollipop 🍭 and some marshmallows Also the butterfly effect 🦋 (£17) which is a lemon 🍋 cocktail. Can’t really taste the lemongrass or egg white stated on the menu though. The butterfly effect is placed in a glasshouse and the dry ice will come out when the staff lift the glasshouse. They will take away the props (ferris wheel and glasshouse) later Just realised the ferris wheel and the butterfly effect are in the setting of a book called “The five people you meet in heaven”. It makes the night even more imaginative and spiritual. From other tables, can tell there are a lot other fancy props, such as hot air balloon, retro claw machine, helmet, transparent dragon in a glass. They have some extra props on the table, such as a bowler hat 🎩, explorer hat The price is not for the drink but for the unique immersive experience I would say. Nice service as well. They helped me to charge my phone that really saved me. Don’t forget to check out the loo. It’s like a forest with some background monologue and animal sounds. It’s also clean and well-maintained.

A Theatrical Cocktail Extravaganza! What a spectacular experience we had at Incognito Kingston – a true celebration of mixology, drama, and flair! The evening was unforgettable, with every cocktail delivering both on taste and theatrical presentation. I opted for the Hoshizaki – a stunning fusion of Japanese artistry and icy precision, featuring toffee vodka, Japanese whisky, sencha tea, lemon, and Drambuie. Akin chose the Smoking Manharthan – a bold, adventurous blend of Eagle Rare 10-Year Bourbon, Martini Ambrato, Lillet Rosso, Maraschino, and cherry bitters, infused with smoke and served dramatically in a glass skull. We indulged in a variety of cocktails throughout the night, each one a visual and flavourful masterpiece. The staff were outstanding – warm, attentive, and passionate about their craft. Truly a night to remember – we’ll definitely be back!

Poor Boys is a casual and unpretentious fast-food spot that specializes in serving New Orleans-style po' boy sandwiches and desserts. Located in Kingston upon Thames, this eatery offers a quick dining experience with its selection of tasty sandwiches and sweet treats. It's a popular choice for those looking for a no-fuss meal in the area.
I ordered the Southern Chicken and Prawns with Cajun fries at Poor Boys, along with the Louisiana hot and buttermilk ranch. I didn’t have to queue for long and the service was great. We were welcomed by lovely friendly staff and our waitress was wonderful. The chicken was crispy and well seasoned, the prawns were cooked perfectly, and the Cajun fries had the right amount of spice. The Louisiana hot was delicious and paired really well with everything. The only thing I didn’t love was the ranch as it had dill in it, which was unexpected since ranch usually doesn’t. My friend got the Southern Chicken Brioche sandwich and mac and cheese and it was really good too. This was my second visit and I noticed they’ve changed from serving in paper takeaway to plates, which made the meal feel even better. Overall the food was fantastic, with generous portions and bold flavours. I’d definitely come back again!

We travelled all the way from Leeds to try Poor Boys food after seeing them on social media. We arrived around 4pm on the Saturday. There was a queue already formed but a waitress seated us immediately as we were happy to sit outside. There were great patio heater in the garden so felt lovely and warm. Our drinks order was taken immediately and our food was brought out swiftly. The staff were so incredibly friendly, kind and thoughtful. The food was gorgeous. We ordered a variety of oysters, burnt ends, po boys sandwich’s, mac n cheese, onion rings, chilli poppers. Every single dish was on point. Stunning presentation, huge portions and it all tasted lush. All in all we had a fantastic time. I thoroughly recommend a visit to Poor Boys. Delicious food and wonderful staff. Thank you.

Poor Boys at Kingston is an absolute gem. Have been there multiple times and every time I was thrilled. The decor is pretty laid back, simple yet very cozy. The staff is super friendly and suggested us some really nice dishes. The portion sizes are huge and impossible to finish by one person. Tried couple of things there. Loved the Chicken Wings, Cajun Shrimps and the Burnt end beef brisket. Must try when in Kingston .

Fantastic food in a small restaurant. You may have to queue but it’ll be worth it. Delicious po boys, dirty fries, salads with choice of shrimp, chicken, beef toppings and amazing sauces. 12.5% service charge but still good value. Takeaway can be ordered via qr code without joining queue. Well worth a visit to Kingston

I was recommended to visit Poor Boys by friends and I'm so glad I listened! The service was very quick and friendly and the food was delicious. The portion sizes are big, that we ended up taking a lot of our meal home with us. There was a bit of a long wait outside when we arrived, but it was worth the wait. My partner was also given a free complimentary mixed frozen cocktail drink as it was his birthday, which was so lovely! Will definitely visit again!

This was my second time going to Poor Boys and the quality remains consistent. It is probably the best fried chicken I have ever had. I ordered the southern chicken and have had it with mac and cheese today, and previously as a sandwich. This mac and cheese is one of the few that genuinely taste rlly good without being overloaded with cheese making me feel sick. The chicken is flavoured well and is never dry. Although a bit pricey, but not crazy, you will almost always have leftovers to last another meal so basically paying 2 for 1 in terms of meals for the day. The service is quick once sat, but be warned if you go during peak hours expect there to be a queue. Only downside was this time we went we wanted to try the Twinkies however they had ran out 😭 Overall definitely worth visiting, and if chicken isn’t your thing they have beef and fish too. Edit: have returned again, Twinkies are no longer on the menu!!! However did try the beef brisket donuts which were delicious. My friend ordered the chilli cheese dippers and you get so many of them too!!

Went on a Saturday 2/3pm overall waited 45 minutes but was worth it! Food was super yummy and the portions are huge (they should never changed that!!!!) I ordered a dirty boy with the rib or beef brisket (can’t remember - but it had no bone) and it was honestly so flavourful. I’m sat at home craving this again but can’t get any because I’m far! Service was amazing and I can’t wait to go again.

The Rose Theatre in Kingston is a modern theatre with an Elizabethan-inspired design that hosts a variety of productions. It has been praised as the unofficial national theatre for comedy, hosting monthly stand-up shows featuring talented comedians from around the world. The venue offers a relaxed atmosphere and reasonably priced tickets, with the option to bring your own cushion and sit at the front of the stage. Visitors have enjoyed diverse events at the theatre, from hilarious stand-up sets to insightful talks by notable figures.
We absolutely loved the Koala Kevin show! At first, I thought Kevin’s voice didn’t quite match what I had imagined, but as the show went on, it all made perfect sense. The character really grew on us. The performance was engaging, full of energy, and had plenty of laughs for both kids and adults. The seats offered great views, making the experience even better. Overall, we had a fantastic time, and we’ll definitely be back for more kids' shows in the future. Highly recommend it to families looking for a fun, interactive experience!
Nina H — Google review
Incredibly disappointed with our experience of the Rose Theatre. We were only able to buy restricted view tickets by the time we discovered the event and bought them, so were expecting it to not be that great - but we had literally no view of the stage whatsoever. Avoid buying tickets at the end of the rows in the Upper Circle (we were B57 and B58). I find the seating plan on their website completely misleading as it's more of a semi circle on there, whereas in reality the theatre is totally circular and we were essentially facing away from the stage. As there was a wall right next to our left we opted to stand for the whole thing (in the shadows and not in front of anyone) otherwise we'd have totally missed out. I would expect this from an older theatre but an interesting choice for one that's slightly more modern. Shame on the Rose Theatre for even selling tickets for seats like these.

The Rose Theatre, situated along the River Thames in Kingston, provides an intimate and engaging atmosphere. We went on a visit to watch, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ which was phenomenal, we loved every second of it! Such artistry. The auditorium had a semicircular design, which brings the audience close to the performers, ensuring a unique theatre experience with excellent views and acoustics throughout, my daughter was also offered a cushion to adjust her height, to be able to have a better view of the stage. The theatre itself is welcoming, with a spacious foyer, friendly staff, and a comfortable café and bar area. However, be prepared for high prices on snacks, particularly for children. A small tub of sweets is priced at £2.20, and a small bar of chocolate costs £1.80 — notably expensive for what they are. Overall, the Rose Theatre is a delightful place to enjoy a live performance, despite the cost of its concessions.
Wildatheart S — Google review
Great night out. The tickets were a bit expensive, but what's involved and who to make a show is fair. Drinks were a fair price from the rose theatre.
Debbie G — Google review
Went to my girlfriend’s graduation at Rose Theatre, and honestly, the place was a letdown. Seats were uncomfortable, worn out, and some looked like they’d been chewed by rats. For the price and the importance of the event, it felt unacceptable. Both the theatre and university should do better — graduates and families deserve a cleaner, more respectful venue.
Bhuvaneshwaran R — Google review
popped into the Rose Theatre Café today and was surprised by how rude one of the staff members was. I was quietly sitting with my own small food item due to a health condition, and a worker walked past and abruptly told me I “can’t eat external food” without any politeness or attempt to understand the situation. I completely respect café policies, but the way it was handled felt unnecessary and unkind. A bit of basic courtesy or willingness to listen would have made all the difference. Unfortunately, the attitude alone has put me off returning.

The atmosphere is perfect for casual outings or special occasions alike. Diners rave about the quality ingredients used in each dish, ensuring every bite bursts with flavor.
The smash burgers here are really nice and full of flavor. The staff are lovely amazing people who bring joy along with the chefs who make the burgers. You can even choose between skinny fries and thick fries which is very good. 🍟🍔👌😁 The food portion may look small to some people but it is very filling which is the whole point of how burgers are. They also had a 50% deal which might be pretty rare. I went here with my friends last week and I recommend this place. 😁👍🤤👍🤩👍

The restaurant is located in a convenient spot near the river and on the high street. We arrived for dinner at around 8 pm, and despite the quiet atmosphere, there was no staff to welcome us. After waiting briefly at the host stand, the staff behind the tills instructed us to sit wherever we wished. I ordered the Korean fried chicken burger with sweet potato fries, and it was delicious but could have been warmer. However, I did notice that the restaurant could use a bit of tidying up. When we were finished, it took the team almost ten minutes to clear our table.

Disappointing Every Time – Won’t Be Back. I’ve given this restaurant multiple chances, hoping each time that things would improve, but unfortunately, it has only gotten worse. This most recent visit was the final straw. The mac and cheese was completely inedible—bland, overcooked, and just a mushy mess. I ordered a beef burger medium well and received it practically raw in the middle. The panko satay chicken burger was burnt and dry, with nothing but a sad slice of cheese on it. It was as if no effort was put into making the meal even remotely enjoyable. This is now the third time in a row that I’ve had an awful experience here. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but clearly, consistency and quality are not their priorities. I won’t be wasting my time or money again.

I always came here for the classic burgers; they had a nice nostalgic feeling, and the 33% discount was a great motivation to return. But on my last visit, the discount was not applied to my takeout order. The cashier told me it was only for dine-in, while the promotion never mentioned such a limitation, and I had used the discount for takeout many times before. This inconsistency and lack of transparency was really disappointing.

Takeout Restaurant
For a top-notch contemporary Vietnamese dining experience in this part of London, be sure to visit 36 Streets. This hidden treasure is situated within the Griffin Centre, just off Market Street, boasting a menu that will undoubtedly whet your appetite. Renowned for their satisfying bowls of Vietnamese noodle soups, there are numerous options to choose from including pho variations, rice dishes, stir-fried noodles, bun tron, spring rolls and much more.
Positives - Good vegan options and taste. Great portion sizes, friendly staff, feels authentic Vietnamese. Reasonably priced. Constructive - all tables are unadjustable so you can have 2 people on a table or 6 without being able to be rearranged. This can cause unnecessary queues, I’d recommend adjustable tables.

3.5⭐ really. Hit and miss on the menu, if you like it spicy ask for more spice. A nice location, has both indoor and outdoor (limited) seating, not far from the river. Inside is well decorated. 1 unisex toilet with baby changing. Both of the Thai drinks we tried were amazing, definitely give them a go. The Singapore noodles were very bland and not really spicy at all. Very disappointing (thought that was hard to mess up). The (cold) chicken noodles were good though, great flavor from the chicken and veg, good mix of textures. Unfortunately the waiter got our food order wrong (although this quickly rectified). note that a service charge for 12% is auto added to the bill.

ordered delivery on uber eats a few weeks ago, will order again for sure! the food is incredible, the only issue is the packaging. they sent the pho in containers that were way too small with the broth in a plastic bag to add yourself. i understand the practicality of combining everything yourself so it doesn’t get overcooked, but if you don’t have a pho-sized bowl at home it’s a bit of an issue as the takeaway containers they sent are not big enough to eat the full meal out of. we had to eat it in two stages in order to fit the food into the container. a sign of good portion sizes, but would definitely be better if they bought containers that were the right size. thank you anyway for the excellent food :)

I’ve been there A few times to tey their different (Chai) teas and they were all very tasty. It would be nice if they had the option to serve the teas in a proper cup (not a paper one, as it ruins a bit the experience), however this is a market/street venue, so we don’t expect that “luxury”. The place is really well located in the heart of Kingston market. Although they prefer to be paid in cash, they also accept payments by card and bitcoin.

I wanted to leave this review months ago, but my old phone broke and oddly enough I found the photo I took, saved on my drive yesterday. Ok back to the food, if I remember correctly, had the onion pakora and a lentil curry. Which was good but the onion pakora, the best thing I had in a long time. Honestly wanted to go back but am not based in Kingston. Overall very good experience, a slight mistake was made with the sauces (am mentioning this because the owner/gentleman was very apologetic etc... and corrected it sincerely. Thai restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Kingston upon Thames, Giggling Squid is a delightful haven for lovers of Thai cuisine, particularly seafood enthusiasts. This award-winning restaurant showcases the culinary expertise of skilled Thai chefs who bring authentic flavors to life through an array of dishes. From their tantalizing tapas plates to signature offerings like giggling pad Thai and rich red curry, every bite promises a journey through Thailand's diverse palate.
Amazing experience today for my daughter’s 10th birthday! She is a big cultural food eater and i wanted her to try giggling squid for the first time as it’s my favourite restaurant. I booked a cute little flowery table that she was so excited to see. Then she ordered some amazing yummy starters and the kids menu was also so good. They even surprised her with little birthday ice cream treat . We will definitely visit again ! Food as always 10/10 , staff as always amazing 10/10 and clean fresh and welcoming atmosphere.

Great decor, superb customer service and great food. Would probably order less next time and something more fragrant as portion size with a starter was a lot but all very well cooked.

As soon as we arrived the manager was there to greet us Jason I think his name was! Very attentive was able to give great recommendations which we loved every single one! From the drinks to the the food every was exceptional and very authentic tasting would highly recommend! And I will be back for the service alone! 🥰

Consistently fantastic 🙌 The staff at the Kingston restaurant are so friendly & always very attentive. We had our usual Duck Pancakes for starter, which are always so tasty, alongside the new Chicken starter which was full of flavour. Followed by their classic Chicken Thai Green Curry & the Samui Seafood, which was a new dish for us and absolutely wonderful!!! The food is always hot, well seasoned and so flavoursome. The cocktails are some of the best in town. Always had a fabulous meal here and it's a great atmosphere. Highly recommend🌟

Alexis was friendly and unbelievably helpful as a server. It was my first visit to the restaurant, she gave excellent menu guidance, perfect recommendations, and all with a smile. She alone makes the restaurant worth visiting, not to mention the food and decor. Will be back!

Wagamama Kingston upon Thames is a vibrant and casual dining spot that brings the essence of Asian cuisine to life in a Japanese-inspired atmosphere. With its long communal benches, it fosters a sense of community among diners, making it easy to strike up conversations with fellow food lovers. While sushi isn't on the menu, Wagamama offers an array of delicious dishes that keep patrons coming back for more.
The food was brilliant with lots of vegetarian choices! The waiters Joseph, Othniel and a Turkish girl, provided excellent advice, marvellous service and good conversation. Bravo. Made the whole experience very special.

Stopped in for a bite to eat with the family at a busy time so had to wait for 10 minutes… that’s no problem. The service after that was pretty terrible. We got seated but were left without menus for 10 minutes… then we had to flag someone down to order drinks… then again to place the food order… the chap that came to take the order was great though. Just a shame it took so much effort to get the attention of any of the servers. The food was really hit and miss, it looks great but the flavour really isn’t there and the prices have increased whilst the taste has declined. Used to be a favourite but we will look for something else next time.
Dominic D — Google review
We were visiting from Bristol for the weekend, and after a long drive we thought Wagamama would be a reliable choice, as it’s usually a favourite of ours. Unfortunately, this particular visit didn’t meet the standard we’ve come to expect. Out of the three team members we interacted with, only one left a positive impression. The service from the others felt unwelcoming, with comments and looks that came across as rude. It got to the point where we had to laugh about it, though it was disappointing at the same time. It’s worth mentioning that the premises weren’t as clean as you would expect. For example, take a look at our menu’s. On top of that, there was confusion when it came to paying. We were given the wrong table number multiple times, which added unnecessary frustration to the experience. We normally enjoy Wagamama and know how good it can be, but sadly, this branch fell short. Until there’s improvement in the service, I’d recommend considering other options nearby.
Chrysanthos ( — Google review
Really nice bunch of staff at this branch. We always have a laugh, and the service is good. Food is good and usually arrives quickly. The only negative are the toilets - they are horrendous. Need cleaning as well as upgrades/maintenance. The countertop around the sinks is broken and jagged.
Gemma S — Google review
We came today for lunch and I really have to compliment the floor manager. There was a mistake with our order, and it was really nice to see how she handled both us and her serving staff member who made the mistake with kindness and respect. When we finally did get our food, it was delicious as always, but that extra level of service and her interaction with the serving staff which I happened to witness is what really left me feeling good about my visit.
Sheila M — Google review
I’ve been served the smallest portion of pad thai ever! However manager handled the situation very professionally, after had a chat with him I was not even feeling mad or anything. Except this issue everything was delicious as usual.
Ozzy — Google review
DON'T BOTHER! Disappointing and not worth the price. Haven't been in a year, last review was 5/5, this review sadly not. Duck gyoza starter and Duck Yaki Soba main was disappointing, service was meh. Asked for starters and mains to be sent at the same time, they weren't. When we were waiting ages for our mains and enquired about them our waiter said, "Oh yeah I asked for your main to come out later to enhance your experience". What a load of tosh. After our mains service never dropped in to check and we waited so long to order our desserts we didn't bother and paid via the QR code and left. Girlfriend's Hot Honey Chicken starter was the only decent thing we ordered. Her chicken firecracker main had barely any chicken and was just okay. For how disappointing the food, was the price was a joke, especially with exceptional restaurants in Richmond for not much more in price. It's not worth it for me to come back again, and I whole heartedly recommend skipping Wagamama Kingston entirely.

The food was incredible as always! Moreover the service from multiple waitresses was amazing, when we arrived it was rather busy however this didn’t affect the service at all! I’d like to give a special thanks to Ioana but the whole team were amazing last night!

Beautiful restaurant by the river Thames in Kingston town with both indoor and outdoor tables. Atmosphere is the best! Lunch set is attractive. Good for friends gathering or birthday celebration. Great restaurant! It was quite busy when we visited, so I’d definitely recommend booking in advance. The service was a little slow, which is understandable given how busy it was, but the food arrived on time and tasted amazing. The dumplings and the ribs tray were absolute standouts — highly recommend!

This is a nice restaurant on the banks of the river in Kingston on Thames. There are tables available both inside and outside. We popped in late afternoon for a coffee and snack. As it turns out we didn't have a conventional coffee but instead had the unusual Bill's Golden Latte. This is made with coconut milk, turmeric, ginger root, black pepper and a few more ingredients! It is served in a 2 layer glass so it stays hot for a long time. We enjoyed our choices of Squid, Bill's Flower Pot and Mango Pot. A warm and friendly service was provided by Catherine.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Kingston Bridge is a landmark structure in central London linking Hampton Wick on the North Bank with Kingston upon Thames on the South Bank. The bridge is notable for its ornate cast iron arches and for its role in popularizing the South West as a commuter zone for people living in Central London. The bridge is also used by traffic travelling between Bushy Park and Hampton Court Park, and between Hampton Wick and Kingston upon Thames.
Want somewhere romantic to stroll through on a lovely Friday evening?.. totally worth walking across the Kingston Riverbank. There was a cute little pub with decent food.
Da S — Google review
Well it's a bridge!! Across the Thames at Kingston-Upon-Thames (surprisingly!). The picture provides a great side-on view but once on the bridge itself you can see the clever design that allows people on the bridge to get off at either end - stunning ingenuity!. And even more so since there is even a similar facility for horses and those new fangled motorised carriages! Don't miss it!
Neil H — Google review
This is such a beautiful area to just come and chill. If I could sit here for hours, I would.
Vernon R — Google review
Beautiful riverside walk. It runs parallel to good restaurants and the riverside. It’s perfect in summer with ducks and swans. You can have a quiet time or a groupie time along the river bank of Thames. It’s lot better than the pictures
Sana F — Google review
Great place to go with friends, Beautiful views definitely worth a visit. Nice restaurants around. Amazing activities to do such as hiring a boat.
London T — Google review
The bridge is very effective and has been for a very long time. It conveys four standard traffic lanes and a bus lane at road level. This is very effective in making sure it doesn’t interact with river traffic as there is sufficient clearance to allow bit to continue seamlessly in tandem. On one side of the bridge Hampton Wick is very pleasant and is the gateway to some nice pubs and two parks. On the Kingston side it is home to soulless overpriced premises generally. With the lack of river crossings in London it serves a purpose but the two sides would probably be happier parted truth be told.
Sean W — Google review
This bridge is a bridge in Kingston which is why it's called Kingston bridge. The bridge allows pedestrians and traffic to pass above the water whilst simultaneously allowing vessels to seamlessly navigate their way through the river Thames undisturbed. It's one of the bridges in Kingston and it looks as though it does everything it's meant to but I haven't studied bridges so that may be incorrect. As far as I'm aware it's here to stay which is useful and is probably why it's here anyway but just a thought? The only reason I'm leaving 3 stars is because it's a bridge at the end of the day but it is still quite a good one and does everything it should do. Just a final point, the moss near the bank looks slippy and wet so definitely approach with caution but in fairness that's not actually the bridge itself.
Will — Google review
Yeap, it's definitely a bridge that gets you from point A to point B without getting wet.

John Lewis & Partners is a well-known department store chain that offers a wide range of products including home furnishings, electronics, fashion, and beauty items. Customers have had varied experiences at different branches. Some have praised the warm and professional service they received from staff members who provided helpful recommendations and made them feel valued as customers. Others appreciated the extensive product selection and the overall shopping experience despite occasional challenges with busy periods affecting service speed.
I had the absolute pleasure of being helped by Kate at John Lewis recently when purchasing a Dior mascara, and I can honestly say I’ve never experienced customer service quite like it. From the moment I approached the beauty counter, Kate was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to listen to what I was looking for, asked thoughtful questions about my preferences, and guided me effortlessly to the perfect Dior mascara. Not only did she make the whole process enjoyable, but she also made me feel like a truly valued customer. Her attention to detail, genuine enthusiasm, and professionalism were exceptional. It’s rare to come across someone who goes above and beyond in such a sincere and thoughtful way. Kate, thank you for making my day — John Lewis is very lucky to have you. I’ll absolutely be back, and I’ll be recommending you to all my friends!

This divan base double has turned out to be my biggest regret. CASE-26481437 When the bed was delivered on May 23, the driver was extremely unhelpful. He failed to attach the headboard to the divan base, and to recycle the old bed despite the fact I paid for this service. At John Lewis Kingston, I specifically did not order a divan base with wheels, yet that’s what I received. The bed constantly shifts out of place, which is incredibly frustrating. Since then, I’ve made numerous calls and received repeated promises that the missing parts would be sent and a technician would be scheduled to fix the issues. Yet as of June 27 (more than one month later), I’m still waiting. The base parts to replace the wheels haven’t arrived, and no appointment has been arranged. The customer service has been impersonal and disjointed. I’ve had to explain the situation from scratch every time I speak to someone new, and no one seems to take responsibility or genuinely care. This experience has been exhausting, and I expected far better from John Lewis.

I went in the other day to pick up my dad’s birthday present from the Dior section, thankfully a lovely lady called Monica remembered that I came in the week before asking for it’s availability, and as a result, saved the last one for me. Appreciated the help and will definitely shop there again

Amazing experience being assisted by a young guy in the baby department at John Lewis Kingston a few weeks ago on a Saturday (he was possibly called Michael but unfortunately we can’t remember… he was tall, dark hair, nose piercing). He was exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful and informative, but gave us space to think about our personal choices. We didn’t buy on the day but we will definitely be back, and hopefully be helped by him again!

Vaslty more spacious than the Oxford Street branch, this is great for trying out sofas. Lots of stuff on clearance including lights, furnitures, rugs and more. The cafe looks out over the river which might be nice in winter.
Julian W — Google review
A great store (particularly the Kingston branch) which offers an enormous range of products in an ideal viewing environment. Can get very busy and make the service seem slow, but they appear to do their best. We buy many articles here because of their pricing, and the store's excellent reputation if things go wrong. A very good shopping experience in these less-personal internet years. Highly recommended.

Coffee shop
Breakfast restaurant
Local Hero is a popular brunch spot in South-west London, with outlets in Fulham and Kingston. The independent coffee shop offers an all-day brunch menu featuring creative dishes like courgette fritters, chorizo and avocado on sourdough toast, and brioche French toast with berry sauce. Co-owned by Petar and Mirjana, the cafe boasts a stylish interior and serves perfectly brewed artisan coffee. It has become a local favorite for its outstanding customer service and sense of community.
A high-demand, small coffee place in the heart of the centre, which serves really good coffee. The lime coconut and carrot cake was delish - light, not-too-sweet & delightful. The Tzatziki Poached Eggs were perfect. Just if I have to pick up on something the Focaccia bread was a tad-more toasted, so I had to bite into it when it wasn’t hot anymore. The price is a bit on the higher side but good food is worth it.

Nice cafe with very friendly service. It's quite small but there's an outside window to order to-go from, which is a brilliant idea. Our food was ok. I ordered pancakes which were nice but not normal pancakes, more cakey. My mum ordered a cake and my review was that it tasted healthy. It's not bad at all, but there are better places for food in the area

One of the best cappuccinos I've had in a long time So perfectly balanced. The focaccia sandwich was delicious and the brownie was also excellent. They had a refurbishment recently and the quality of the coffees has vastly improved. As a huge coffee snob, this will be my new go-to spot.

The custard tart was amazing, brought back many fond nostalgic memories. Perfectly baked. The cinnamon bun is beautiful. Light, airy but delicious at the same time. Latte and hot chocolate was bloody scrumptious. The service was friendly and talkative, and we felt very comfortable and welcomed in. Couldn’t recommend more.

What an absolute local gem! It's cozy inside with tables scattered around. You order and pay at the till which I quite enjoy, from there you go sit down and wait for your delicious coffee and food to be brought to you. The flat white is the best I've had, and I find it difficult to resist getting one when I'm in the area. The food is also heavenly. I can highly recommend their avocado toast with chorizo and poached egg as well as the salmon Benedict. Both of these dishes are simply fantastic and full of flavor. You can taste the quality of the ingredients as well as the effort that goes into the plating and presentation. We do eat with our eyes first. Once you have finished your meal and coffee, your table is quickly cleared by a friendly member of staff. Because you have already paid for your food, you can simply leave whenever you want. You are always waved out the door with a warm "bye, thank you" from staff. I will continue to support this amazing local hero!

The food was so much better than we expected! Incredibly tasty, well made, and a generous portion. Lemonade was the nicest one I'd ever had. Would recommend. 🍋 I have had their coffee to take away before, which was also solid. I'll have to try it again soon. A good size inside — fits quite a lot of people without becoming stifling. There's a bathroom at the back too. Only downside were the two older men that sat beside us complaining about service despite having got exactly what they'd asked for in a timely manner? Odd.
Catherine — Google review
We were on the fence about trying a new cafe as there is Gail’s a few yards away but so glad we did. The Flat White was sharp, perfectly proportioned and the roast was simply delicious. We paired this with the Salted Caramel Chocolate Brownie which was rich in flavour and perfectly baked to a crisp top. The cafe was busy even on a rainy day so expect to fight for a table when the weather is right. All in all, our coffee experience here was flawless and this might very well be our ‘local hero’. Highly recommended cafe and one we will definitely be back to soon.
Amit — Google review
A lot of hype around it even though it does look like a cute little cafe. The girl at the till is kind but the guy at coffee machine, not so! Had a take away coffee priced £4 (literally small cup). Also had to wait for a good 7min for a take away! Wasn’t really busy but very slow. Not impressed by the service and also really over priced. I’m glad weren’t dining in.

Churches & Cathedrals
All Saints Church in Kingston upon Thames is a picturesque 12th-century church with a rich and fascinating history. It is the historic site where seven kings of Saxon England were crowned, including King Athelstan in 925. Evidence suggests that there was a church on the same site dating back to Saxon times, with King Egbert of Wessex holding his great council there in 838 AD.
My first visit to the area after a three hour train journey to complete the Bear Hunt Sculpture Trail (May 2024). What a beautiful town to explore. There were walks along the River Thames, plenty of restaurants, cafés, and eateries. All Saints Church is an absolute must-see, I explored from the beautiful gateway on the Market Place. Within you will find a wealth of history, beautiful architecture, and stunning stained glass. You'll also discover that this church is a real community hub, with a fabulous cafe, restaurant, and gift shop, alongside areas to take a moment, say a prayer, and support those less fortunate than ourselves. It was truly a genius mix that just worked and felt inclusive. It also felt so warm, like being given a big hug. This is often a difficult combination to achieve, such a fantastic job, Kingston. If shopping is your thing there was a modern looking shopping centre just a short walk from the train station, as well as several well-known and independent shops around town. Lots of history too, make sure to look above some of the shop windows. I thoroughly enjoyed my day trip and found all the Bears. Thank you for hosting a wonderful art trail, Kingston upon Thames!!

A lovely welcoming church. Not only is this a beautiful ancient church building with magnificent stained glass windows but there is also a fabulous cafe run by a social entrepreneur called Sarah. I recommend the pistachio chocolate cake with a a cappuccino. The church services are very welcoming and an opportunity to explore the meaning of life itself.

The cafe was lovely and we had a cup of tea, a hot chocolate and a slice of millionaires cake 😁😁😁 I had a walk around the church and took some lovely pics too ☺️☺️☺️ Before we left, my daughter needed a toilet which the church also has, which was very clean and tidy 👍👍👍 Thank you so much ❤️

**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unforgettable Night at a Historic Gem!** I visited All Saints Church on for Rise Against’s in-store event, and it was an absolutely surreal experience! This 900-year-old church —where Saxon kings were once crowned—transformed into a punk-rock haven for the night, blending ancient history with electric modern energy. The band’s performance against the backdrop of medieval architecture, flint walls, and pale blue-painted ceilings created a vibe I’ll never forget. Why it’s 5 stars: 1. **Unique Atmosphere**: Where else can you mosh under 15th-century timber beams while gold-tinged angels watch from above? The acoustics in this space were incredible—every chord echoed powerfully . 2. **Seamless Organization**: Despite the crowd, entry was smooth, and the staff balanced reverence for the church with enthusiasm for the concert. Even the merch tables fit right in! 3. **Rich History Meets Modern Community**: Before the show, I explored the Saxon-era stone outlines in the churchyard and saw the oldest stone fragment (possibly from a 1,000-year-old cross!) . The church’s role as a community hub—hosting markets, cafes, and even fashion fundraisers —shows its vibrant spirit. 4. **Accessibility**: Centrally located at 14-16 Market Place, Kingston , with entrances on both sides and free admission for casual visits . Seeing Rise Against here felt like a secret gig in Westminster Abbey’s cooler, more rebellious cousin ! **A must-visit**—whether you’re a history buff, music lover, or just seeking soul-stirring architecture. Bravo, All Saints! 🙌

Very nice old church in the centre of Kingston. I went there today to look for the memorial of the Davidson family as mentioned on the clan Davidson website www.clandavidson.org.uk/resources/ After chatting with the Verger, he pointed me to the large memorial which is now positioned behind the cafe serving area. I managed to take some photos of the inscriptions which are still very legible. The memorials are for Duncan Davidson his wife Lucy and his brother Henry. It states their dates of death are 1799, 1777 and 1781 respectively. However the date on the memorial is MDCCCXXVII ie 1827. There is also a memorial to Elizabeth Caroline beloved wife of Henry Davidson aged 56 with a date of 4th March 1828.

Historic and iconic bar established 135 years ago, with a history for having hosted touring jazz musicians back in the 30’s! Great place to see a broad variety of musical genres! We were there for As It Is and High Regard pop punk.

This bar has everything you'd wish for in a bar. The building is divide into a front section with the bar itself and a back section with the venue area. The staff was always nice and had a lot of humour. The venue area was big enough to comfortably hold around 50 people. Would always recommend a visit here, even if it's just for a (tasty) beer.

We went there to see "as December falls". I will be honest, I'm in my late 40's and went mainly to support my youngest (20). I can honestly say I really enjoyed myself, it had the vibe of a rock/metal gig venue from 25-30 years ago, everyone looking out for each other, but with a modern twist, a new generation following the old school values of doing their best to just love the music and doing all the can to help others enjoy it too. The other thing that struck me is the price of drinks, here in Surrey we are sadly used to being hammered by drink prices, and I fully expected the drinks to be on the he pricey side, especially as we were a captive audience, that had choice but pay the prices they charged. The date was the 15/08/2025 and 2 single vodkas with cranberry came to £11 (something). I have paid a lot more in places I have enjoy far less in the area. Finally, without going into detail, we had some additional needs, we needed a chair for the gig part, and honestly it was no trouble, we told one person at the bar, I didn't catch his name, but but the time we got into the gig part, all the staff knew, and were descreetly on hand if needed Thanks to all the staff at the fighting cocks, those at banquet records who ran the music part, and to As December Falls for a brilliant albeit hot and sticky night

Atmosphere is the key winner here, Redbull on tap though is a must avoid guys, not good, get canned if available. Staff are more than friendly and and get through service super quick, cover bands they have here are brilliant, easily the best night out in Kingston-upon-Thames I've experienced. Follow this up with Bacchus, make sure you bring physical ID or its a no go.

Came in here for a post work drink, stayed for the live music, great drink selection and excellent bar staff. Popped in to read my book and relax after a long day, they had an extensive (albeit a little pricey) jukebox and wide range of drinks. Bar staff were great (he was wrong on the new superman movie but you can’t have everything :)) and vibe was immaculate. Would definitely recommend.
David E — Google review
Great bar, great jukebox, beers good and the staff friendly. Well worth a visit.
J N — Google review
Bad beer, visited at the end of my stag do looking for a nite cap across the road from our hotel. Best man and myself, not welcomed for drinks. Left at the end of the bar due to how we were dressed. If you are not grudge or emo et al then you’re not welcome, despite your beliefs. Ignorance is bliss for this, we thought spoons was crap before finding this place. We just wanted a drink and to be left alone which was impossible.

Indian takeaway
Chakra Indian Restaurant in Kingston offers a unique dining experience with its concept centered around the chakras and their healing powers. The restaurant boasts beautiful interiors, traditional Indian flavors, and a relaxing atmosphere. Guests can enjoy their meals in both indoor and outdoor areas, including an alfresco terrace overlooking the riverside. This hidden gem in Kensington is often overlooked but offers delicious bites and a recently refurbished terrace space.
Lovely restaurant with a beautiful riverside setting. The location and ambiance are both charming and relaxing. The food was delicious and full of flavor. While the portions are generous, the prices are on the higher side—likely due to the prime location. Service was attentive and efficient.

It was really nice afternoon at kingston, really hungry and quite new to place and I came across this restaurant. I would say must eat in place. Prices were good as per the dish. We have ordered indian cuisine, tasty( avacado rolls we loved the most). Ambient atmosphere. Special mention: Toilets were very clean and no bad smell. Customer service was also good. You can enjoy your afternoon or evening calmly away from city life of london with good food. ☺️.

Chose to eat here as it is in a great spot overlooking the river. It was a sunny evening and all seemed good. What a disappointment. The waiters didn't seem to care less at all, very ambivalent. We only wanted one main between us as we weren't that hungry but we were told this wouldn't be enough and we had to have 2 - really! The rice was dry and crusty like it had been sat in the fridge foe days and had just been warmed up in the microwave..the curries were meh! And the salty lime drink - yuk! No return for us.

Granth has been amazing!! Yesterday I went on dinner date and it was soo good. I love the atmosphere, food was absolutely amazing and delicious. N served by Granth who is an amazing person and great at his work. Full of recommendations!! Would love to come back again. Thanks for the great evening.

This is genuinely the best restaurant in Kingston, the food is outstanding and the service provided by Granth was exceptional. The bottomless brunch provides unbeatable value for money. If you like seafood make sure your order the prawns!
John A — Google review
Really good plant-based (vegan) options. Would happily return, but we were told that it's their last day at that location. They're moving into a new location in Kingston. Good service, good portions.
Dylan B — Google review
We had a bottomless brunch, by far this was the most amazing experience we’ve had, we’ve tried lots of different locations. Our waiter Granth was so helpful and explained the dishes. We didn’t need to ask for a top up. Food was so well presented and so delicious. Would highly recommend. We are ready to rebook.

Got a meal today, just about to finish off the dal and found a long strand of hair mixed in. A gross shame. Please put stricter measures in place to prevent this.

Nestled in a serene corner, Jamaica Blue is an award-winning coffee shop and café that promises a delightful experience for coffee lovers and brunch enthusiasts alike. Renowned for its high-quality brews made from beans sourced from the famed Jamaican Blue Mountains, this charming spot also offers an enticing all-day brunch menu featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Service was brilliant, very professional, friendly, cafe was lovely, clean and quiet. Food was a bit pricier than expected (with extras), I ordered the Avocado on Toast - it’s a shame you don’t have the option to add singluar items but you have to order in twos (two hashbrowns, two sausages etc.) which upped the cost of my brunch to £18 without drinks. Hot chocolate is delicious. Food was presented well and tasted a lot more delicious than anticipated. Would dine here again.
J M — Google review
I’ve been coming to this restaurant for a long time, but I’ve noticed a drastic decline in the quality of the food. My favorite dish used to be the souvlaki – I ordered it regularly. Lately, though, it would arrive either cold, the bread wasn’t fresh, or the tzatziki was watery. So I decided to switch to the gyros bowl. The flatbread was good, but the sauce was far too runny and, shockingly, the chicken was undercooked. Serving undercooked chicken – a high-risk food – is simply unacceptable. The overall food quality has really gone downhill. Disappointed, especially because this place had great potential.
Alessandro B — Google review
The food never disappoints and the coffee is the best we had. We’ve been back here a couple of times already and will always crave to come back again. My fave is the Aussie Avo Smash and the Korean Gochujang Waffle. Matcha Latte is amazing as well

I spent about a week in London but struggled to find a decent cup of coffee. It was one cup of disappointment after the next. Then I stumbled across Jamaica Blue and had the first decent Cup since I landed. Would definitely recommend it.

Great coffee (good flavour, not just washed out milky) and great food (Turkish eggs).really impressed with lovely staff too at the counter and bringing my food. Nice chilled atmosphere and comfortable seating in different arrangements for different groups. Will now be my go-to place in Kingston - brilliant find!

Jamaica Blue is such a refreshing find in Kingston! The coffee is top-notch — smooth, rich, and full of flavor (the Blue Mountain blend is a must-try). The atmosphere is bright, modern and relaxed! The staff are welcoming and provide excellent service with a smile. A great spot for anyone who loves good coffee. Highly recommend! ☕💙

Came in on veg date. Got 2 veg brunch, pancakes Kids and mac and cheese kids. The mac and cheese was a bit flourly as described by my 12 year old. The pancakes were reasonable, but the veg brunch was terrible value for money. One singular sausage the size of my finger, 1 uncooked tomatoes, two slices of bread and mushroom for £14. The saving grace was the sauce was very nice. The sour dough with the spread was reasonably done. Real same and will not return.

CUSTOMER SERVICE APPAULING. Management need to get their customer service skills looked into ASAP! They feel its fine to ask a heavily pregnant women to move from their seating area (seating area outside by the toilets and near another drinks shop!!) which 1. Does not note of being for 'customers only', 2. Not allowing the chance to order food/drink when approached abruptly and told to move if not ordering anything (barely sat down for 5 minutes!), 3. NO menu on the table to hand to start with to indicate which restuarent the tables were linked to. This is disgusting behaviour. The worker kept watching over not allowing us to decide if we wanted to order anything or not and came over like a shot! Where in the name is humanity!! Other customers agreed this is not on and nodded in disgust of this workers behaviour! Rude and arrogant behaviour. We did end up purchasing a drink... only again for the same worker to make my partner bring over his own hot drink whereas others were bought over by the members of staff. Clearly discrimination!

The Place to Eat

4.1

Restaurant
"The Place to Eat" is a popular dining spot with 75 branches in London and 20 more across other towns. It offers a menu similar to Pret a Manger, including sandwiches, soups, and breakfast options. Notably, it serves hearty Hot Pots that are favored by London office workers during winter. The setting at the back of John Lewis provides lovely views of the River Thames and Kingston Bridge. The food selection is diverse, ranging from beef baguettes to healthy poke bowls.
Yet another perfect flat white coffee ☕️ 😋 with a filling sausage brioche bun. Gives me super🦹‍♀️ powers for the massive amount of window shopping 🛍 throughout the day. 🧞‍♀️

Sadly the view was so much better than the food or service. I had a "full English" breakfast, was told there was no bacon, ordered extra mushroom, yet bacon arrived on the plate. The food, paticularly the poached eggs, was overcooked and nowhere near hot enough. Will go to Cote next door next time.
Richard G — Google review
Awesome place, lovely food, nice staff. Its tucked away at the very back of John Lewis with a setting looking over the River Thames and Kingston Bridge. Scrumptious deserts, high quality lunch and I specifically want to thank the cheerful gentleman behind the hot buffet till who was cheerfully serving us with a lot of care!

Great cafe overlooking the Thames and Kingston Bridge. Currently serving the best cream tea I have had for a long time, I keep suggesting to friends we meet there just so I can have another! Top tip is blackcurrant jam, it's so tasty and you don't need too much.
Rachel F — Google review
Grab a riverside table and be intrigued by the view. I come here for an afternoon cuppa and a slice of cake when I come to Kingston shopping. The wheelchair route is a bit odd because the main road runs through the building. Don't worry. You can't see it nor can you hear it. With the car park right underneath, the whole John Lewis store is really convenient.
Peter S — Google review
The location is super convenient and the view is absolutely stunning. The food and service need to up their game. The food options are limited, mostly cold sandwiches and salads. There are some options for hot meals. The staff is friendly but the preparation time on food could be better. Finding a table is on first come first serve basis, so it could help improve customer experience if they have at least one server directing or helping customers to be seated in an orderly fashion.

It’s only spring! Today recorded as 31degree in london. This weather Jhon Lewis doesn’t have AC on. It was great to see river side through the window. But it was extremely hot under big windows 😢😢 and I ordered Spanish stew 🍲 tasty was great and fresh!!! But I was melting with hot stew and temperature 😅😅 English apple juice 🧃 is absolutely great! Food and staff are great 👍 I don’t know how the staff are working under this hot weather serving hot food without AC. 🫡🫡 great tasty and good atmosphere but not recommend in hot 🥵 weather ☀️☀️☀️

I had planned to enjoy a leisurely lunch with my family at The Place to Eat after a shopping trip on 23 Nov 2024. However, we were unhappy to find that only cold sandwiches and cakes were available due to equipment failure. It was particularly disappointing that hot food options were unavailable on a weekend, when demand is typically higher.

Pub
Nestled in a charming locale, The Albion is the perfect spot for those craving seasonal British cuisine and hearty Sunday roasts. With a relaxed vibe, this pub offers an impressive array of ales and ciders to complement its diverse menu. Diners can indulge in meaty delights like BBQ ribs and burgers or opt for vegetarian options such as quinoa salads and veggie pizzas, ensuring everyone leaves satisfied.
We popped in during the week around lunch time. Great pub, chilled vibes - they were playing vinyl LPs, great garden and opposite the park. Great beer selection and decent hot dog. Half price between 12 and 3pm, bonus!
Will M — Google review
Stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere dog friendly to eat and have a drink. It had a fantastic selection of beer and cider on tap, with a good selection of food at affordable prices. The staff were very friendly and the service was fast. The atmosphere was excellent - rustic and modern at the same time. The lighting was perfect, not too bright, which really added to the ambience. They even had light background music. There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. It was also very clean, with the tables and bar looking spotless. I didn't enjoy the njuya mac and cheese, but the katsu was surprisingly good with a generous portion of rice. The chicken schnitzel was ok, but smaller than I expected, and the buttermilk burger was succulent. I would definitely recommend this place for a casual meal and drinks, especially if you're looking for somewhere dog-friendly with a great atmosphere. Bushy park is only a 10min drive from here and we enjoyed a stroll after lunch.

Where do I start?… this pub came highly recommended and it sits on a corner opposite lovely park and we were looking forward to a great evening settling down having booked a table. They have a huge range of cask beers and cider, over 15 hand pump to my count . Plus a range of keg beers from their own brewery and others, think they have 20 Taps working We started by ordering 4 halves of pale ale, to do a taste comparison, and then tried another four afterwards, some of these were kegs and some on cask just about all of them were undrinkable, lifeless lack of hop flavour and certainly no cask conditioning to speak of .. We ordered a handful of other styles of beer making up to nearly 20 in total and between us we found three or four beers that we were happy to drink, the rest were all left on the table In the meantime we tried to order some food and no one knew where the menus were. I spent 10 minutes at the bar literally waiting for someone to find me a menu, in the end I took one from someone who was just returning to the bar. It was the usual pub offerings which looked pretty okay, needless to say we didn’t try any of it because we left less than an hour very unhappy with the beer and the service.
Paul M — Google review
I loved this pub. A huge range of beers and great enthusiasm from the bartender who generously guided me towards an excellent pint (via a few samples of other excellent brews). The food was also very good indeed. I really wish this was my local!
Paul M — Google review
Good local pub with reasonable range of beer on tap. Can be quiet during the week but the garden area is great when the sun's out. Service has always been friendly. Dogs welcome. Food is fairly standard pub affair but decent value for money, not as over priced as the some other pubs nearby. Gluten free burger bun was great!

My friends and I came here for a roast last Sunday. It was clear they were understaffed (it seemed like only two servers were running the whole place). Three of our meals came out first, and when my friend went up to ask about the others, the server replied, ‘you can talk whilst I’m wiping’, a rude remark and poor service. The rest eventually arrived. I ordered churros for dessert at 1:45 (our table was booked until 2:30). By 2:10 they still hadn’t arrived, so I went up to the till to ask, and the server said he’d check, but still it didn’t come for a while. At 2:20, I asked the other server, who said rudely, ‘didn’t they tell you you’d have a long wait for any food ordered?’ No apology, no offer to check, and no, nobody had told me there’d be a delay. The churros finally came at 2:25, only for the staff to immediately say we needed to leave for the next booking. After making me wait 40 minutes, I was then expected to rush my dessert in five! Completely unacceptable. The roast itself was fine, but nothing special. Service was rude and disorganised. Won’t be returning.
