Camerota in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Camerota, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Camerota combines a medieval hilltop village with the seaside resort of Marina di Camerota on the Cilento coast, offering both historic charm and access to sandy and rocky beaches. It lies within the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, a UNESCO-listed area known for its coastal cliffs, olive groves and hiking trails. Visitors come for boat trips to sea caves and coves, clear water for swimming and snorkeling, and a quieter atmosphere than many better-known Italian coastal destinations. Traditional Cilentan cuisine and small local festivals add to its appeal for travelers seeking an Italian coastal town with a local feel.
With favorites like Camping Lentiscella, Maricucciata, and Lido Lentiscelle, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Maricucciata and Camping Lentiscella so you can get the best taste of Camerota while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

(Translated by Google) The first thing that struck me was the total availability of all the staff... just by asking for the availability for the umbrella they gave us information on where to park, how the whole beach worked, showers, changing rooms, bar and restaurant... an umbrella with two sunbeds in the third row in July during the week 16 euros, shower 50 cents... for lunch we took two tuna, tomato and mozzarella sandwiches, a maxi toast, a fruit salad, a small coke and a large water 30 euros... pebbly beach (small gravel) I recommend shoes for the rocks to get in and out of the water or for a walk on the shore...

Restaurant

Maricucciata is an exceptional dining establishment in Marina di Camerota. The restaurant offers a remarkable culinary experience with delectable dishes that surpass expectations. The host, Nino, provides a unique insight into the traditional production of their special flour. Additionally, Nino shares captivating stories about the local cuisine further enhancing the dining experience. Maricucciata comes highly recommended and is undeniably the top choice for a satisfying meal in Marina di Camerota.
Nino is really nice and the staff as well. Pizzas and other dishes were great. Good Italian food with Maricucciata specialty dish based on local legume veriaty. The kids had fun trying the stone grain mill he has
Shachar I — Google review
Great if you like waiting for your pizza 40 minutes whilst your significant other has already finished their dish and neighboring tables that arrived later than you have finished their food as well. Top it all off with no excuse. After some wheeling and dealing at least the pizza was free. Pizza tasted pretty good as such but quite salty.
S — Google review
Reading the reviews I had hoped much better. It's just an OKish experience nothing more, no fireworks are waiting for you. From the entries to main and side dishes, just average stuff. House wine is horrible and to be avoided. Good thing the place is opened the whole year so it's probably better to give it a try when the summer crowds are away.
Maurilio P — Google review
We ordered from the restaurant and food wasn't really exciting. It was quality food but simply cooked. One of us ordered a pizza and which was actually good tasting. Moreover you cannot park in the restaurant parking because that's reserved for the customers of the touristic village... it's a bit annoying. All in all prices were quite low and that's a point in favor.
G R — Google review
Great restaurant! Great experience! The food is very good, each dish exceeded our expectations. The host Nino showed us the way the special flour is made in a traditional way. Nino also shared with us the story after the local dishes which we were eating. We highly recommend it, and we hope to come back again!

It's definitely the best place to have meal in Marina di Camerota. The dishes are just delicious! We had such a nice time there, highly recommended.

Booked a table for 6, they said it would be available. It was available actually but there was a huge birthday party with all the screaming, so my booking had practically no sense

Mobile home park

Restaurant
Camping Lentiscella, situated in a stunning spot facing the beach, provides an idyllic setting for those seeking a traditional camping experience surrounded by nature. Nestled beneath ancient olive trees, visitors can bask in the tranquility while being serenaded by the delightful chorus of cicadas. This mobile home park also offers delectable cuisine that is highly recommended to all guests.
This camping is a place for people that look for quietness and relax. No animation, no music, no swimming pool, but all basic facilities are available. Electricity max. 700 W ! Very friendly manager. 50 meters walking distance to beach. WiFi available at nearly all pitches. Generous pitches under large Olive trees. But the best feature is the on-site Restaurant "A Tavola da Betty". Delicious home made food for a reasonable price.

(Translated by Google) Old-fashioned campsite, no entertainment. Excellent location Large pitches shaded by olive trees Excellent location facing the sea. Inside, there's an excellent pizzeria and a restaurant. The only flaw is that the bathrooms are a bit dated, but always clean. Hot showers cost €1. During the day, the showers are always hot because they're powered by solar panels. The center of Marina di Camerota is just a few minutes' walk away. Docce calda a 1 euro.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, my experience at this campsite was disappointing in many ways. The area is completely uneven, making it difficult to park a camper, even with chocks. Furthermore, many pitches are exposed to the sun, and even the "shaded" ones actually offer only partial coverage, which isn't always sufficient during the hottest hours of the day. The restroom area is a veritable labyrinth with no clear signage, forcing you to wander around looking for showers or sinks. Speaking of showers, they're completely inadequate for the number of pitches: only eight with cold water and just five with hot water, resulting in long waits during peak hours. The bar charges excessive prices, to say the least: €5 for a 66cl Italian beer is exaggerated; not even the lido costs that much. There's no on-site market, so there's no way to get essentials without having to leave the campsite. Even the Wi-Fi connection, despite covering the entire campsite thanks to various repeaters, is often inaccessible and doesn't offer a stable or sufficient service for normal use. Trash cans are available only in the restroom area and at the campsite entrance. Drinking water is only available in a central location on the campsite, forcing those on the more distant pitches to hike long distances with jerry cans or carry very long hoses. Finally, the cost per pitch per person isn't particularly cheap. The only positive note is the sea: stunning and very close, but it's the only positive aspect not attributable to the campsite's management.

(Translated by Google) We arrived with the intention of staying only one night, but we loved the campsite and the entire area so much that we ended up staying six nights. It's definitely one of the campsites we've enjoyed most so far. We appreciated the tranquility, thanks to the location away from the main road, and the pleasant shade of the olive trees. The location is excellent, close to the village and the beautiful beach. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back! Sicuramente ci torneremo!

(Translated by Google) We only went here for dinner. I can't review the establishment. Secluded location, parking available inside. They've created a small outdoor area at the entrance of the facility where even those not staying at the campsite can eat. It's immediately obvious that the cuisine offered is a touch above the rest of the area. We didn't have the chance to try the many dishes offered by the kitchen, which certainly had a very personalized touch, especially regarding the first courses. I will most likely return to try those too. We decided to order some raw fish, which met our expectations. I also decided to order something marinated (fabulous anchovies), and a taco with tuna and guacamole salsa. Perhaps the thing I liked a little less was the tuna, nothing special. To accompany it, a half liter of house white wine (Fiano). The only advice I would give is that since the cuisine is a little more refined, the menu and explanation of what you're eating and what's in the dishes is essential, especially for the raw fish (since they are sold by the piece). This didn't affect my 4⭐ rating, however, because I understand the desire to introduce young people to the world of work. Certainly, with a little more effort and experience, we will be able to provide an excellent service. Location appartata , possibilità di parcheggiare all'interno.

(Translated by Google) I returned yesterday from six very relaxing days at the Lentiscella campsite in Marina di Camerota. I traveled alone with a small tent. The campsite is very simple and basic, 1980s-style, with plenty of sanitized restrooms and plenty of sinks for washing dishes and clothes. Convenient footbaths remove sand from the beach after returning from the beach. Hot showers with solar panels are free during the day, and token-operated when the sun isn't shining. There's no entertainment, no pool, and no market, but there's an excellent on-site restaurant and pizzeria. The sea, with its public beach or beach clubs, is right outside the campsite; just cross a small road and you're on a wide, sandy beach. The children, who were very well-behaved, gathered together and played without shouting, playing various improvised games along the main paths, without smartphones in hand! I felt like I was back in my childhood. I had a pitch in a very quiet, clean, and shaded area under two beautiful olive trees; I really enjoyed it. Camping Lentiscella: 5 nights = €150. They'll be happy to see me again. Camping Lentiscella: 5 notti= 150€. Mi rivedranno volentieri.
