Very informative free museum covering the archaeological history of Lorca from prehistoric times onwards. Exhibits are well laid out in modern display rooms, there are also 3 videos with subtitles. Receptionist spoke English well and told us about the main items to look out for in the different rooms. Allow 60 to 90 minutes to see everything.

Having been to the "white" museum, I was slightly disappointed with this one. Some things seemed to be closed and so the experience wasn't as informative as it could have been and I think the staff were that friendly or accommodating. Update: We sadly have to adjust our first review. We came back to try the takeaway. We both had Calzone, but half of it was empty. We were left with just dry pizza bread. First: This is the only place we have found Calzone in this area. It was not as good as our favourite restaurant in Germany, but it was really good. My husband, however, had rabo canneloni, and the portion was small and stuck to the bottom. The taste was OK and it was really filling. We will be returning.

Clearly management are not providing sufficient staff levels leading to poor, slow service. It wasn't a busy evening but everyone had a wait to be seated, followed by a wait for everything else associated with dining out. The staff did their best but were overrun by not that many customers. Food was very good.

We were really looking forward to visiting this castle and took a lengthy detour from Cartagena to get there and we wished we hadn't. Food was fantastic. We had the menu of the day with multiple plates that were all flavorful. We also ordered the calamari that was a highlight for us. Even the coffee was delicious. Highly recommend. We stopped here along the way during a road trip and we are so glad we did.
