Parque Almenara is a fantastic shopping center that features a vast Carrefour supermarket and an extensive array of both chain and independent stores. Notably, C&A stands out as being particularly impressive. Moreover, the establishment boasts multiple restaurants and a cinema complex that showcases English-language films every Thursday. It is an excellent destination for spending a few hours, with various shopping options available upstairs in the mall.
Wow, totally unexpected, this place is buzzing! So many shops to explore, it's a shopaholic's dream. And a cinema too – perfect for catching a movie after some retail therapy. Plenty of places to grab a bite, from snacks to full meals. Plus, the whole area is clean and has a great vibe.
Peter ( — Google review
It's a very good place for shopping almost anything, having a good coffee and a snack or an ice cream, play bowling or go to the cinema with a big and cool underground parking. Only wifi is not very good.
Tadeusz K — Google review
Great shopping centre with Carrefour and many clothes shops, including large Primark as well. Some eating places on ground floor with a large food court upstairs. Plenty of parking both outside and underground
Chris W — Google review
Great place to shop with a broad selection of outlets and a restaurant area for different tastes. Bowling Alley and Cinemas. Good parking facilities and easy to find.
Mark C — Google review
Great place to go out for a few hours The old C&A is here. And Mcdonalds and KFC are only 4 minutes aways. There is food to buy up stairs in the shopping centre but not Mcdonalds you have to drive 4 minutes away.
Tortoise P — Google review
The shopping 🛍 Park at Lorca Parque Almenara is a modern, clean, easy to walk around and very well laid out shopping 🛍 centre out of town on the main RM11 Aguilas to Lorca Road. Very impressive 👏 and a place where you will want to return to again. As well as a superb range of Home and Personal Shops, it has a large amount of earing options on the top floor of the main centre.
WABBA — Google review
Great shopping experience. Lots of high street stores and many independent too.

Plenty of shops to browse at a slower pace than the large busy centres. Recommend a visit.

It offers well-organized exhibits in modern display rooms, along with three videos featuring subtitles. Amazing FREE museum. Full of information. Lorca has 4,500 years of history, well reflected in this museum. The museum is free entry.

The museum is small but really well organised and a lot of interesting artefacts of ancestors in Lorca, also about the ancient Jew community! The entrance is free

Brilliant Museum. A surprisingly large and eclectic collection of historical artifacts. It was the first time I've ever seen fabrics from the bronze/copper age. Wished I'd had more time to spend here. Fantastic. Thank you....

Very informative free museum covering the archaeological history of Lorca from prehistoric times onwards. Exhibits are well laid out in modern display rooms, there are also 3 videos with subtitles. Receptionist spoke English well and told us about the main items to look out for in the different rooms. Allow 60 to 90 minutes to see everything.

Specialty Museums
muBBla, museo de Bordado Paso Blanco is a museum located in Lorca, Spain, established by the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre. It showcases over 1,500 hand-embroidered pieces with silks and gold, some dating back to the 19th century. The museum aims to preserve and display these exquisite works that have been used in the annual Holy Week processions in Lorca since the 16th century.
I am not really into embroidery and was just visiting to keep the wife happy. Well, I was absolutely gobsmacked by the beauty of the work here. We never knew you could make embroidery so realistic, even replicating the sheen off a persons face, as detailed as a painting. The painted dome was also equally impressive, Lorca’s own mini Sistine chapel.. It is well worth the entry fee of 3€ or 2 for 5€, even if the exhibits are quite limited in number.
Greg T — Google review
This museum is just fantastic, is an old church and is really beautiful , all altar in gold look Like u come to heaven :) ! And the peace’s are incredible ! 4€ entrance! Highly recommend

Wow, how good was this surprising museum. A real wow factor. Videos to show the fiestas and events the embroideries were used at. Often on horse back. Amazing colours and condition. This demonstrated the ongoing skills and expertise of the Spanish traditions and how important this is to the Spanish people. And then there is the chapel. The extra surprise, so amazing.
Helen P — Google review
Fantastic exposition! Reason enough to travel to Lorca. Unfortunately there is almost no information but in Spanish or I couldn’t find it. The videos of the procession are interesting but of poor quality. I am sorry the possibly equally interesting Museo Azul was closed when I arrived there.

During summer evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the square outside the theater offers free open-air cinema screenings featuring Spanish classics and modern films. We spent a pleasant evening watching the Ballet Kiev last night, first theatre visit in Spain. An intimate little theatre, dancing and music are so accessible to all languages. Thank you for the experience 🤩 we will be back!

The collection includes intricate costumes from Paso Azul, providing explanations about the history of Holy Week and Paso Azul in Lorca.

Very nice museum in a beautiful old building. You will also visit the church, next to the museum. Impressive video's of the Santa Samana event. Al though it's even more impressive if you visit the event live.

Good way to learn the history of the Lorca Easter Parade. Fascinating history and beautiful authentic costumes. Great access, lift to each floor, flat.

Museum containing primarily hand embroidered robes worn during Semana Santa. Upstairs there is a window looking into a workshop where women were embroidering. Well worth the small entry charge. Open most of the year but closed around Easter.

Fascinating and beautiful place. Intricate robes and costumes. Well presented and not expensive to visit. The ladies on the embroidery workshop made us welcome and we watched them work with dedication and skill.

Having been to the "white" museum, I was slightly disappointed with this one. Some things seemed to be closed and so the experience wasn't as informative as it could have been and I think the staff were that friendly or accommodating. It does however explain holy week in Lorca well and the traditions surrounding it and has some beautiful capes that are worn during the celebrations.

Italian restaurant
"La Mafia se sienta a la mesa" is truly a hidden gem that offers an extensive menu filled with delightful options, though it does come with some culinary surprises. While many dishes shine, like the delicious calzones and expertly crafted pasta, there are a few missteps to be wary of—like the carbonara that strays too far from tradition or a greasy pizza that doesn't quite hit the mark. However, with careful selection, you can uncover some real treasures among their offerings.
Just amazing, I do have a card for the waiter that helped us however it's in my husband's pocket somewhere, he had the same name as me we were both called Dani, 😂
Danielle W — Google review
Update: We sadly have to adjust our first review. We came back to try the takeaway. We both had Calzone, but half of it was empty. We were left with just dry pizza bread. First: This is the only place we have found Calzone in this area. It was not as good as our favourite restaurant in Germany, but it was really good. My husband, however, had rabo canneloni, and the portion was small and stuck to the bottom. The taste was OK and it was really filling. We will be returning.
Inger S — Google review
Clearly management are not providing sufficient staff levels leading to poor, slow service. It wasn't a busy evening but everyone had a wait to be seated, followed by a wait for everything else associated with dining out. The staff did their best but were overrun by not that many customers. Food was very good.
Mark F — Google review
Delicious calzone, pizza and pasta for kids. Really kind staff. I recommend this place to everyone.
Leo S — Google review
A diamond in the rough. Massive menu including some real hitters. Unfortunately some rea culinary misses as well. This is one of those places you need to visit a few times to figure out which menu items taste exquisite and also to make the mistake of ordering carbonara which is essentially cream pasta (blasphemy for an Italian restaurant) or the one pizza which is soggy and overloaded with grease, when the others are thin and delicious. Can be very good, just pick carefully. Decently attentive staff, some with fluent English also. Above average prices, however the portion sizes are huge, so prepare to take half the dinner home. Very good value.

(Translated by Google) What an experience! On the way between Granada and Torrevieja we needed a lunch break. Looking only at the Google ratings, we set our sights on this “restaurant”. What was our surprise to see a large cabin in a small square. The weather was not good so no terrace like in the photo. Anyway, we're thirsty, we'll have an aperitif and we'll look for something else. This was without counting the welcome, kindness and warmth of Maria and her customers! We were served like kings, from an aperitif we moved on to a small meal. And with such sympathy! There were 4 of us and none of us will forget this fabulous experience. We will return there, that's for sure! Go there, without hesitation. It's a little gem. (Translated by Google) The service was quite slow and they didn't have many of the things we ordered, nothing out of this world... But they told us in the end that they didn't have any seafood... Which ruled out any hot tapas, the toasts were not bad, but nothing out of this world. They have a great beer menu... But as with the food, there was not what we ordered. In short, everything is very average, we would not repeat it... However, the price is generally good. The waiters wear their masks tightly, with their nose inside the mask! At breakfast you can choose different types of bread: whole wheat, village bread, white, seed bread. For an aperitif, the variety on the menu is not very wide, but being next to the theater makes up for it. It's a shame that they removed the transfer option because it was a good investment opportunity. The original synagogue is beautifully preserved and presented, while there's also a small cafe with a performance area. Accessible by private coach or car, free parking is available just outside the castle. Visitors can explore three walking routes around the outside, offering amazing views below.
Lovely castle, which is kept well. You can walk round the gardens for free, pay €4 for each tower or €10 to see all 3. Each tower opens for 45 minutes at 12:00 13:00 and 14:00. We saw all 3 & I would recommend this. The carpark at the bottom is free to park. There is a steep walk up to the castle, and the walks can also be difficult, I wouldn't advise this for people with mobility difficulties. The lady on the front desk was really friendly and knowledgeable about the castle and the ruins. We had a drink and ice cream from the shop which were reasonably priced. The staff in the cafe were also very friendly, the cafe was clean and tidy inside and out.

Excellent visit, staff exceptionally helpful and even contacted taxi company to retrieve our lost phone. They arranged for delivery to castle and got it back to us within a couple of hours. Amazing. Views from towers are awesome and evening dinner with music a wonderful experience. Unfortunately a couple of sights closed due to restoration but still well worth the visit.
Jacqueline H — Google review
Gorgeous place to visit, stroll through the garden and stop at the Cafe for a drink soaking up the views. To get into the towers it costs 10 euro per person or just walk through the grounds for free. Have to say we'll worth the 10 euros.
Andy H — Google review
Beautiful place for a day out, but be prepared for the walking up hills. As you probably can see, it's perched on a mountain and the car park is 3 quarters up. You pay to go in yhe various towers, but the grounds are free to roam around. Great few hours with family and the club sandwich is highly recommended as well 👌
Matthew J — Google review
Lovely place to visit, not to long of a day, but beautiful gardens and grounds, very informative and a nice day out would recommend
Dan J — Google review
This castle had some great history and a good walking tour via a fre app. The castle itself is basically a walled area on top of a hill overlooking the surrounding areas. So views are fantastic. However, if you are expecting more buildings to wander around, you will be disappointed. There are a fee towers that have been reconstructed, but there is a cost to enter them. Entry to the grounds and cafe is free.
Chris C — Google review
The drive up the hill is an adventure. When you are nearly at the top you can enter the free car park. A short but steep walk up to the castle. Entry is free and if you'd like to take the guided tours, it is €10 pp for the three on offer. A well preserved example of the last millennium of Islamic, Jewish and Catholic rule on this important frontier
Kiff — Google review
Looks spectacular and enticing from the A-7 road but absolutely not worth the visit. The castle scores points for the overall appearance from a distance and the setting and views from it as it is situated on a hilltop with fine vistas of the surrounding countryside but once you get out of the car and pay the admission fee the experience is very disappointing. Virtually nothing worth seeing on site as the synagogue is an excavation site and not worth the 4 euro (there should be no admission price at all as what little there is can be seen in one minute), the Espolon tower has good views from the top but is very basic and when we visited the Alfonsina tower which is the most impressive structure on the site wasn't even open. We were really looking forward to visiting this castle and took a lengthy detour from Cartagena to get there and we wished we hadn't. Much better castles to spend your time and money on than this one.

San Patricio Collegiate is a stunning architectural gem that you simply must see when visiting this charming town. Nestled near Plaza de España, its impressive façade made of light stone stands tall and proud, captivating all who pass by. While I didn't venture inside during my visit from Murcia to Granada, the exterior alone left me in awe. The building is well-preserved and exudes a sense of history that adds to its allure.
Well worth a visit if the rain isn’t pouring down.

The Parroquia de San Mateo is a stunning church with a Latin cross plan, a central dome, and chapels on the sides of the nave. Built in the 18th century to meet the needs of the Jesuits, this baroque-style church has undergone several transformations over time. Visitors are captivated by its divine care and attention to detail. The surrounding area is described as lovely, with a charming coffee shop nearby.

(Translated by Google) The Parish of San Mateo is a jewel of Murcian Baroque that surprises with its elegance and sobriety. Although its exterior façade is simple, the interior dazzles with its meticulous decoration in white and blue tones, an impressive dome designed by Justo Millán, and a main altarpiece that is a true work of art. It also houses the historic Cross of Privilege, before which King Ferdinand the Catholic swore to protect the laws of Lorca in 1488. Located in the heart of the city, it is easily accessible and surrounded by other points of interest, such as the Casa de los Guevaras and the Craft Museum. Without a doubt, this is a must-see for those wishing to learn about Lorca's heritage and history.

This is an excellent place to park and start your Lorca tour. In addition to the great tourist advice offered by the centre, they will supply you with a handy tourist map. The exhibition is well laid out, captivating, colourful ans interesting enough but...a lot if it didn't work or wasn't offered in other languages. The audio guide helped. Good parking on Sunday, other days there would be a charge. Lovely walk towards the castle! Forgot to mention there were lots of people when we entered (from the rain) and as we got sick of waiting and weren't sure what exactly the wait was for, we slipped downstairs to the exhibition. She was super helpful when we got to see her later on

Very good place tto have a refreshment, or and food. Very nice looking cakes too with a coffee and the prices were very reasonable considering its location and lack of competition. We went here by chance a few weeks ago, lovely setting with nice seating outside. Food was better than expected but what let it down for us was the lack of information forthcoming from the waitress. Would be useful to met customers know what else was available besides on the menu. I happened to go inside to see and found they had a menu. Nice home made gifts to buy inside are good. Nice place just for us the lack of customer service and professionalism from the staff unfortunately let it down.

The site chosen for its construction was located on what was then Alameda de Espartero, now Avenida Juan Carlos I, a recently opened thoroughfare that would later house the family homes of prominent members of Lorca society. This beautiful mansion was commissioned in 1877, with a project designed by the Lorca architect Francisco Navarro Alcaraz. Construction was supervised by master builder Juan Gil. The work was completed in 1879, although the interior decoration was not completed until 1890. Its style reflects an eclecticism very much in keeping with the general European style of the Restoration period, with a distinctly classicist flavor in the coherent and harmonious layout of its façade. Nestled in the vibrant Plaza de España, near the historic Colegiata and town hall of Lorca, stands a striking statue of Alfonso X el Sabio. This impressive sculpture commemorates the king's significant visit to Lorca, where he granted special rights to this pivotal city during the Reconquista—a time when efforts were made to expand Christian territories against Moorish influence on the Iberian Peninsula. The best tapas restaurant in Lorca. The food is exceptional, a brilliant blend of traditional and creative cooking, all from a tiny kitchen and based on local products. We tried lots of dishes, hot, cold, sharing plates, everything was extremely tasty including the beers and wine. The service is quick and friendly and there are seats inside and out. It's a very popular place and it can get busy so there is a waiting list, you put your name down and wait for a table. Great atmosphere, nice music, trendy crowd, this is a brilliant restaurant and the food here is exceptional.

(Translated by Google) The food was not bad at all, although very salty, they abuse the salt flakes a little, and in certain dishes that absorb all the salt it ends up being quite unpleasant. The treatment of the waiters is not bad, correct I would say, they do their job without further ado. But there is something that I really dislike in restaurants/bars and that is why I give them 3 stars, and that is that they charge you for things that are neither on the menu nor have you ordered them, like in this case the bread. I don't mind paying €1.50 for bread, and even less in cases like this, which was quite good, but I see bad practice in charging for something that I haven't ordered, if you bring me something to the table that I haven't ordered, I understand that it's a detail of the house, not that you are going to charge me for it. Imagine that they bring you olives, potatoes or nuts with your beer and then they charge you for them? Doesn't make sense right? Well, the same thing is, an unpleasant way to fatten the bill. And by the way, illegal if the product is not on the menu, I did not claim it because I found out once outside since the account was reviewed by someone else and I did not comment on it until we left. Even so, the food that did not have salt flakes was good and the place is a tavern with a very retro atmosphere that is not bad. It wouldn't be bad to change the accompaniment of each dish either, since they all had the same potatoes. But you are warned to try to get restaurants to eliminate these types of practices.

(Translated by Google) It really seems to me to be one of the best views of the city of Lorca. Maybe they will say that it is better to see in the castle, and of course, you can see the valley better, but from here you can feel a peace that I have felt in few places. The place is very clean and has a special architecture. The Ermita de San Roque, also known as the Museo del Belén, is a stunning historical site that offers breathtaking views of the city. Visitors often praise the friendly and knowledgeable guides who are eager to share insights about this beautiful location. The atrium and church are particularly noteworthy for their charm and beauty. However, it's important to note that access can be challenging due to steep hills and numerous stairs, making it less suitable for those with mobility issues.

(Translated by Google) It is a very cool hermitage, but access is very bad, if you walk alone there is a hill and a lot of stairs, so an elderly person with walkers or someone with a wheelchair cannot access it. Not to mention the environment. Somewhere it has access by car, but even then it only takes a car at the door and there is no space to get on. Mediterranean restaurant
Nestled in the heart of town, Casa de los Musso, Meson Restaurante offers a delightful culinary experience that captures the essence of traditional Spanish cuisine. With an extensive menu available in English, guests can indulge in a variety of dishes ranging from hearty pizzas to rich pasta options. The large pepperoni pizza and lasagna Bolognese are particularly noteworthy, though be prepared for generous portions! The restaurant also serves up delicious croquetas and a tempting selection of homemade desserts that shouldn't be missed.
The menu was in English, and the team spoke English. We had a large pepperoni pizza and a lasagna Bolognese. Both were very nice, take care as the large pizza is huge. We also had a cheese and meat board. The restaurant's focus is either pizza or pasta, with a large selection of both. Our food was served quickly and was very nice.

Middle of the town visiting by local people. Evening menu 10 EUR; quick lunch/almuezzo 3,50 EUR.
HR G — Google review
The food was nice, but the letdown was the wine we ordered. I asked for two bottles of house wine, and we were charged for different bottles at a higher price. When we challenged this, they didn't apparently have the house wine...... what rubbish but eventually had to settle one bottle at the correct price and one at the higher price. What a shame you can't trust people.

Mediocre at best. We called the restaurant and asked for a vegan option for my friend, and the restaurant told us that they had vegan options, however this was not true. The pasta was not good at all.
