Clacton Pier is a restored Victorian pier that offers a wide range of attractions and entertainment options. It features a funfair, amusement arcade, eateries, aquarium, and tenpin bowling center. The 350-meter pier also boasts a 50-meter Helter Skelter tower with views of the Offshore Wind Farm. Visitors can enjoy arcade games, rollercoasters, fairground rides, and special Circus Fantasia shows during the summer.
My wife and I had a wonderful time in Clacton. We found It to be better than Southend. Plenty of places to eat, an arcade with so many games to play. Wonderful place for children to enjoy.

Kind and helpful staff members, great fun for little and big ones, a full day entertainment for couples, families. Close to the sea, serving games and food in a few steps.

Not been in a British pier for a long time and this one definitely the best one I’ve been too, the entertainment hall was excellent, large selection of attractions, games, fruit machines even crazy golf! The simulator rides are excellent and very interactive. Reasonable prices and length of games were good. The actual pier was closed at the time we visited but looked pretty good! Not many people here when we visited but the place was very clean and tidy not like some other piers I can remember!
Paul B — Google review
Lovely clean beach..big amusement centre with funfair and food shops on pier..lovely atmosphere..big ferris wheel..mini golf..excellent all inclusive wristband price which includes 5 different thing for kids including 3d encounter miningolf fun fair rides 50 free tokens and 5 arcade game rides..what more could you ask for..what a bargain value..£20 instead of £30 for a wristband when booked a day in advance online..I would suggest anyone to visit here..been here around 6 times in the past 2 years..booked caravans around here 3 times..and looking forward to coming more..also came by train with a bunch of friends..we enjoyed so much.

Great place to spend time with family and friends. Lots of entertainment, food stalls and even a pub. Or you can just walk alongside the beach and learn some history by visiting the Martello towers built during the Napoleonic wars and were part of the costal defence system

Visited Southend and Brighton Pier. Give Clacton Pier a try. Beach and pier were great, but places to eat and drink were area specific Need more small soft ice cream shops. Clean though. Recommended 👍

Clacton Beach, located in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, is a quintessential British seaside destination. Accessible by train from London and Ipswich, it boasts a famous Victorian pier with classic arcade entertainment and numerous cafe outlets. The beach offers convenient parking, seasonal lifeguard service, and a children's wristband scheme for family-friendly visits during school holiday breaks.
Clacton beach is nice, however I did come across a notification on the pier saying the water quality of the sea is inadequate for bathing/paddling, so no sea swimming. The promenade is an excellent walk, nice gardens along the front.
Carol R — Google review
We had a great time at Clacton-on-Sea! The promenade is lovely for a relaxing walk with beautiful sea views. One of the best parts is that the restaurants are conveniently located close to the beach, making it easy to grab a bite without going far. The pier is a highlight—well-maintained and full of classic seaside charm. There’s plenty of entertainment around, especially for families with kids, including arcades, rides, and fun attractions. Overall, it’s a great spot for a family day out or a casual beach getaway. We’ll definitely be visiting again!
Oxana B — Google review
Had a fantastic day despite the weather! We absolutely loved our visit to this place! Even though the weather wasn't cooperating and it started raining, it actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We started off enjoying the beach, but when the rain hit, we discovered there's so much to do indoors. The indoor activities were great and kept us entertained, plus the food was really good too. What could have been a washout turned into a perfect day - having those indoor options made all the difference. Would definitely recommend this spot whether you're dealing with good weather or bad!
Jed L — Google review
Very attractive with beautiful manicured flowerbeds, lawns and unusual trellises with fashioned metal elements culminating in a pretty art deco bridge giving access to the pier with massive attractions for children including inside ‘big dippers ’ and every conceivable state of the art arcade games, there is also a bowling alley, so even if there is inclement weather outside you can enjoy the amenities in the dry. Golden sand proliferates everywhere and overall this whole complex is a credit to the corporation
Richard J — Google review
Lovely view, plenty of food and drinks vendors, lots for kids to do, great atmosphere 😃plenty of shops near and around the beach, they have a wetherspoons there on the corner, very popular 👍 there is a land train that takes you around every 20 minutes.

Really enjoyed our day at Clacton-on-Sea! Such a great spot for families — the beach was clean, the water felt safe for the kids, and there’s loads of space to relax. The pier and nearby food stalls made it even better, so we could easily spend the whole day there. Definitely a place we’d come back to!
Mubeena I — Google review
I’ve visited Clacton-on-sea a few times, but last Thursday and Friday were by far the best! I went for the airshow and, even though I’m not usually an aviation enthusiast, it was amazing to watch the planes performing their routines. I stayed late to catch the twilight display followed by the fireworks, which made the whole experience even more special. It was such a well-organised event, I’d love to go again next year.

It offers entertainment for all ages with a variety of shows like Dinosaurs World, Robin Hood, Music & Memories and more. The staff at Princes Theatre is known for their outstanding support during events and their flexibility in accommodating changes due to unforeseen circumstances like the COVID-19 pandemic.
We always enjoy our trips to the Princes Theatre the shows are good quality and the room is well laid out. We went to see Coldplace and they were amazing!

My partner and I saw the show The greatest love of all by Belinda David's. My partner has been to many theatres and shows, whilst it was my first time. We had an absolutely amazing experience, the staff were all friendly, the theatre itself had everything we could have needed. The seats were comfortable however im 6'3 and struggled a little for legroom. I found that the timings between the performance and interval were perfect. The bar was reasonably priced and facilities were good. We are planning on making it a new tradition to visit the theatre whenever we are in clacton. And would definitely recommend

We went to see Aladdin at Christmas with my daughter and two of my grandchildren. Absolutely loved the old world feel and so clever to employ people friendly older staff. The whole vibe was warm, welcoming, and understanding. I live in Shetland, so I don't often get a chance to visit this theatre. I am definitely revisiting.

Nestled near the charming seaside town of Clacton-on-Sea, Parkdean Resorts Valley Farm Holiday Park is a delightful destination for families seeking fun and relaxation. This park boasts an array of amenities designed to keep everyone entertained, including both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sports courts for active play, and an exciting adventure playground that will thrill kids of all ages. The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant adds a touch of convenience for dining on-site.
Lovely stay, so far, at Valley Farm. The caravan was a little dated but equipped for a holiday with my 10 year old daughter and 3 year old granddaughter. Had to get in touch with reception several times for a missing curtain in the living room. (A huge gap obviously was there of a night) On the 4th call, it was rectified. Amenities on site good and nearby shops for any supplies which are obviously cheaper than the on site shop. Bar prices, we're eye watering at £5.90 for a larger shandy and approximately £2 for a Fruit Shoot. I booked for my 10 year old to partake in combat archery with Sharon, which she absolutely loved. Sharon was patient, professional and kind and a whole lot of fun (thanks!!) Well worth the £10! The swimming pool was a little busy at times (the outdoor pool was having work done on it, so was out of use), and there wasn't enough changing rooms inside, so we came back to the caravan to get showered and changed. Staff are very polite and helpful. Would recommend.

Great holiday, might seem strange that a great holiday has a 1 star rating from me. I am still on park for a week as I write this. I will start with the good. The resort is nice and clean and well set out, there is lots to do for our kids. We went to the restaurant which serves nice food, staff were lovely and the bar was nice and clean. I would absolutely recommend here. So why did I give it a 1 star? I simply couldn't give any higher as the problem was disgusting. When we arrived our van keys were not ready at 16.00. We were then told that our van wasn't ready and that the cleaners would leave the keys inside. When we approached the caravan every window was open as far as it would go as was the door. I immediately said to my wife 'there has been a problem with our van they are airing it out because of a smell.' we got into the van and there was a smell of urine. We went and bought some air freshener and sprayed the sofa incase a pet had urinated on the sofa although it was dry. After going out for a meal we returned to the van showered and went to bed. At about 3 in the morning my wife said her back was wet. Turning on the lights the sheet had turned brown from the mattress. On inspection the mattress had been urinated on the mattress had been turned over by the cleaners and a sheet put on. My wife and I had to get up and shower at 3 am throw our pyjamas out and sleep the rest of the night on the sofa. We went to customer services the following morning and I explained the situation and the cleaners were sent up to put a new mattress on the frame. No apology no explanation. I can guarantee the cleaners and staff knew about the soiled mattress when they were cleaning the van. Every opening was fully open to air the caravan, The mattress had been turned, The van was late for check in, There was a definite smell of urine throughout the van, The customer services member we reported it to, who was also the one who checked us in the previous day was not shocked or surprised when I told her. I have had 2 great holidays here but can't get past the fact that rather than make the van hygienically safe from infection the cleaners flipped the mattress over to save them getting a replacement.

Coming to the end of our third visit. Overall a nice venue, though I need to mention this evening's meal at the Boathouse. My partner's spaghetti bolognese had *very* little meat in it. (It certainly fell short of what should be expected of a £14 main course). We mentioned this to the waiting staff when she asked how the meal was, but it was apparent she had not been trained in how to respond to anything other than the usual "it's very good". I don't want the waiting staff to get into trouble as I am convinced this is a management matter - ensuring the items on the menu is up to standard and that the staff know how to deal with issues - at very least knowing how to progress an issue so that it can be resolved.

This is the first time we've been to this park, lovely! Nice place, swimming pool is probably one of the biggest we have been to. Friendly staff and clean. Slight downside to the room, the caravan bedrooms were tiny, possibly because one of the smaller caravans on the site but the double bed was more like a big single. Good mattress and comfy so thank you for that.
Roy R — Google review
Into our 3 day, day here so far very good, location clean around the site, on arrival staff friendly helpful. Boathouse, food so very good. Service from the staff serving the food very good. Friendly aswell. Unfortunately bar staff, myself and J, have visited many parkdean site always use the app, no problem, but using the app here, not good, because sat & sun night I've had to go the bar and ask for our drinks, ticket collected left on the side, they say sorry and sort it out ASAP, which is OK, but not cool, overall yes we will come back, we do like it here, first impressions 3.8, out of 5.

Great resort, full of activities for kids which we counted on the most. Really friendly staff, Sam in particular 😊 she was very helpful, nothing was too much trouble! Beach about 15min walk, dogs friendly, Odi loved the run along seafront 💗 The resort is clean and I can truly recommend it!
Katarzyna M — Google review
The food and drink are good priced decently and big dinner and breakfast. The swimming was okay only 45 mins on indoor pool and 2 hours on outdoor just have to hope to get in all in all good for a family holiday on a low budget and also there is lots to do on site evening shows could do with being improved as we had the same act 3 nights in a row which on park employees. There should being acts in from outside to make it more enjoyable

My 2 young boys played battle blasters with Sharon, and had an amazing time. And she made the experience just that little bit more special bear in mind. Both my children have additional needs, but the whole result in general. Has been magical.

Parkdean Resorts Highfield Grange Holiday Park in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex offers spacious accommodations with fully equipped kitchens and cozy fireplaces. The park is located a short distance from the vibrant town and its attractions, including the beach and pier. Families will appreciate the array of facilities catering to younger kids, such as a 200m flume and interconnected indoor and outdoor pools.
Perfect spot for a family getaway! Highfield Grange Holiday Park was an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed — the staff were friendly, helpful, and always smiling. Our holiday home was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, and the park itself was beautifully maintained with plenty of greenery. The facilities were fantastic: the swimming pool with its big slide was a hit, the kids loved the entertainment and playground, and the evening shows were great fun for all ages. The location is ideal — close to Clacton-on-Sea town centre and the beach, yet peaceful and relaxing. Extra points for the on-site amenities: shop, bar, restaurant, and takeaway options made everything super convenient. The whole family had a brilliant time, and the kids are already asking when we’re coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for fun, comfort, and a warm atmosphere. 5/5!

We had a fantastic time at Highfield Grange! The lifeguard team were outstanding – professional, attentive, and constantly alert. It gave me complete peace of mind knowing my children were safe and well looked after around the pool. Their presence really allowed us to relax and enjoy our holiday. Couldn’t recommend it enough for families looking for both fun and reassurance.

We was pleasantly surprised while on our holiday at Highfield grange! We all had the best time on our little holiday and we are definitely going to return soon, yes I will agree with some of the other reviews some things are a little dated and need to have minor repairs however this did not effect our holiday one bit! Every single staff member we interacted with were amazing and actually seemed like they wanted to help! The girls at reception were so friendly and felt really welcoming, The staff at the bar and in the boat house were lovely! The entertainment team definitely take the cake!! The team were amazing and remained high energy and rearing to go even in the early mornings! The activities we booked on to were SO good and worth the money! The evening shows we was really impressed with specially the girl group!! We would like to give a special thanks to Luke on the entertainment!! He honestly made our little holiday and he was going above and beyond for everyone at the park and he interacted with the children so well! My daughter has come back and told all of our family about him! Overall we had the best time and we can’t wait to come back!!

Molly and Sophie at the pool are amazing! They’re so helpful and great with the kids! The pool is clean and warm, and the kids loved the activities, mostly jet ski’s. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast every day and watched the evening entertainment every night, the troopers are so good! We’ll definitely be returning soon!
Molls — Google review
Highfield Grange is a lovely site, would recommend, we usually go when the kids are back at school. The drinks in the bar were a bit pricey, but we usually bring our own!! We asked for a different caravan to one that had a full size fridge freezer, the girl on the reception (can’t remember her name, but she had a gothic look!) was wonderful and couldn’t do enough for us, she changed us to a brand new caravan which was a lot closer to the amenities, the food in the restaurant was very good, but it was very quiet. The troopers were amazing and gave their all with every performance, they work so hard they all have amazing voices!! We will be back!!
Tracy L — Google review
Stayed for the weekend with my friends, the pool was lovely and warm! Outdoor pool is heated too! Molly at the pool was very helpful, and helped us with the activity passes which are so worth the money! Food was good, especially thunderbird chicken. Caravan was nice and clean too!
Maggie — Google review
DON'T BOOK HERE! I have stayed in many caravan parks and this is by far the worst. From the moment qe arrived it waz constant issues with the caravan L. Fridge freezer not working, lino was raised up which caused trip hazard, radiators were rusted and broken, the pipes under neath the caravan came fully off, the bedrooms weren't spaced properly due to them squeezing in an extra bed which meant there was no walk way within the bedroom. One of the kids got their leg stuck The bathroom door handle was broken which meant one of the kids got stuck. The toilets constantly smell like rotten sewage. We are a family with disabilities awn kids and neurological adult. We have complained to HR with photo and video evidence, who haven't responded. We have requested to be moved since arrival and keep getting palmed off Also no hoover which means we are on our hands and knees sweeping up this isn't acceptable.! The accommodation qe paid for isn't what we received. Don't waste your time or hard earned money coming here! Alot of families have had major complaints also! Go elsewhere! Only decent thing here is security and Lauren on reception who! We are debating cutting our holiday short by 8 days as we booked for 10! As for customer services they are whole load of crap!
Chanel E — Google review
We are beyond disappointed with our stay at the holiday caravan this week. Frankly, it was awful. What was supposed to be a relaxing and joyful break for our family turned into an incredibly stressful and upsetting experience. We had a child and a disabled family member with us and yet we had no hot water for two days. Despite calling multiple times and asking for help, no one ever came to fix the issue or even check on us. We were completely ignored. How is that acceptable? Trying to care for a child and a disabled person without hot water is not just difficult.it’s unacceptable and inhumane. The lack of basic facilities, the complete absence of support, and the disregard for our situation was honestly shocking. This was our first visit here, and sadly, it will definitely be our last. It was an incredibly upsetting experience for all of us, and one we wouldn’t wish on any other family. So make sure if you book a caravan, to check if you have hot water for all the days you will be staying. Not just for one day .

Had a wonderful time at this place. The prices were fair, Staff were friendly And the pool table overlooked the sea creating quite the vibe. Staff are very very freindly and had nice chats with all of my family members which came with me. It's a shame not many people know of this place, a true hidden gem! Please if you haven't already, try this place out! It's just behind the bowling alley to the right side of the right lane. Thanks again for such a lovely time!

Popped in randomly and the place was very quiet, shocking as it’s so lovely in there! We played darts for an hour at £10, was very enjoyable. The lady behind the bar showed us how to work it as we had never done it before was super helpful and came over to check on us. Such friendly service, even the security were jolly and friendly! Thank you for a lovely evening. If we were local to this area this place would defo be our local!

The burgers are the best option, plenty of fries. We had the Hot and Smokey burger. The chicken wrap was a bit light on the amount of chicken. The soft drinks came in bottles with straws, no glasses? No doubt saving on washing up for the environment. Ordering was via a QR code link, the were quick, efficient, and friendly. They also had an interesting Interactive Darts setup.

We stopped here for a quick bite and it was ideal. Food arrived quickly, hot and tasted good. All food is reasonably priced, kids meals are a good size, staff were nice and it was a good atmosphere. We went at 11:30 and it was nice and quiet, but i can imagine it gets quite busy later in the day though.

We had lunch here, the food arrived quickly and was nice enough. I had a Dr Pepper however it had no flavour and so my partner took it back to the bar suggesting the syrup had ran out (as he has experience working in bars and kitchens). They gave him another small glass to try and he told them it tasted the same so they said they would check and bring another. After 5 minutes they returned with another glass, told us the syrup was fine and that it was the ice. I tasted it whilst they awkwardly stared at me and it was gross, I get anxious so told them it was fine and to be honest I had had enough by then. I just shared my partners drink so I could eat my food before it went cold. Then we played AR darts. This was extremely enjoyable and only £10 for an hour which is cheaper than many other places by a large amount. We had such a good time and each ‘lane’ was closed off enough to feel private and enjoyable. I’m the type of person that doesn’t want to feel watched - especially doing something i’m not very good at😂

Bobby’s gentle manner, formal approach, and warm, welcoming presence truly set the tone for our evening. He made us feel like valued guests and really elevated the atmosphere of the whole restaurant. The way he carries himself is a credit not only to Martello Lounge but to the hospitality industry as a whole. Our family enjoyed a wonderful dinner, but it was Bobby who made the evening truly exceptional. He represents everything you’d hope for in front-of-house service: polite, professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. Thank you, Bobby, for making our visit so memorable Your efforts did not go unnoticed. Martello Lounge is lucky to have you, and we will definitely return thanks to the experience you created for us.

Visited yesterday as a large party of 13. Staff were friendly and polite. Ordering via the app was simple and quick. Seemed quite reasonable (food and drinks for 4 of us came to £60). The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the fact the staff seemed to allow a large groups of teens into the restaurant, using the toilets and sitting in various tables without actually ordering anything. Not seen that in a restaurant before.

Super place to eat, great decor and ambience, air con inside, great seats outside and balcony view of the sea/beach, great staff brilliant in fact, great welcome, super attention to detail and good prices. Seating very comfortable chairs and sofas, loved the 3 cheesy chips. Staff went the extra mile for me serving my bottle of lager in a champagne ice bucket, to get it extra cold, in the heat too..

I’ve been a few times, very much a hit and miss place by my experiences, the menu looks good but not everything is stocked or not up to good standards on occasions. My last visit was better, very tasty eggs Benedict hopefully they keep to this standard going forward.

Excellent place to eat and drink, was there in the morning. Had some tea overlooking Clacton pier and beach Quiet and relaxing. Staff, food and service was excellent. Very clean. Highly recommended 👍

Been meaning to go here for a while, and decided today was the day. We sat inside and was amazed by the decor and how big it was, with plenty of seating upstairs as well as downstairs, and lots of outdoor seating. I had the lounge all day breakfast which was a good size but two things that let it down was the sausages which were small and of poor quality and a very small amount of baked beans. My wife and daughter went down the burger route and both gave their meals a 10/10 score. We will definitely be going back as a lot of choices on the menu we would love to try.

If you're on the hunt for a delicious kebab experience, look no further than Station Kebabs. Many first-time customers rave about their flavorful offerings, including mixed donor and chicken shish kebabs that arrive hot and fresh. The generous portions are a highlight, with some even noting the delightful onion rings as an added treat. Delivery is consistently prompt and friendly, making it a hassle-free option for those cozy nights in.
Just having my first order of chicken donar kebab and onion rings . Absolutely lovely , hot , not greasy like other shops loads of food and patient delivery guy as never heard the first time I have hearing problems. He's a credit to you x Thank you so very much will certainly be back

How they can shut for the entire summer holidays is very bizarre??? Surely staff could stagger there summer holidays?? The loss off trade and customers must be phenomenal. Also the 11pm closing is too early, should at least stay open till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays (sure they did before COVID)? Come on Ali!!!!! The reply to my comment is comical 😂😂 just stay open till at least midnight on Fridays and Saturdays Ali

Very poor customer service. Shockingly rude and obnoxious owner, who is apparently never wrong. It's everyone else... deciding what to eat and then suddenly, without reason, blurting out a different order to him. Then complaining when he carefully preps the order they've stated, but didn't want?!? 🙄 👌 My order was a large cheesy chips with mayo and large chips with mayo and chilli sauce. We got two cheesy chips, one with mayo and one with mayo and chilli sauce. It was a really simple order!!! If he mucks up your order and you complain, brace yourself! Read all the other reviews, just waiting for an insulting reply to this one!

OUR FIRST ORDER Ordered a mixed donor and chicken shish last night and the food was absolutely lovely. Will be ordering from here from now on. Lost a star bcos we got 2 pots of mayo instead of 1 mayo and 1 chilli sauce, was gutted as I love chilli on my food but will just emphasise on the chilli sauce next time.

Franco's is a contemporary Italian restaurant with an elegant setting, warm lighting, and rustic wood decor. The menu offers a variety of Italian favorites such as soups, pasta, pizzas, and seafood made from scratch in their kitchen. The restaurant is known for its outstanding food quality and attentive service from the waitstaff. Customers have praised the delicious meals served in a relaxing atmosphere. Although there may be some waiting time between courses, the overall dining experience at Franco's is enjoyable and worth returning for.
This is one of the best places to go to eat a fantastic restaurant with your wonderful family. The food was up to my expectations and this was one of the best places to go if you want a social worker to treat you. The environment was the best atmosphere. One of the staff in this glamorous restaurant was called Paul. He was very friendly and he is also sociable. Overall, 5 star.

F A B U L O U S... We had a wonderful evening here, staff were perfect, there when needed but didn't over serve if you know what I mean. The Forestiere mushroom on garlic bruschetta was so tasty, then the Veal Milanese the best I've ever had, my partner had T bone steak (Available to order in advance) he said it was the best steak ever. Bottle of Primitivo, delicious.

Day 2

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Clacton Shopping Village, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to St Osyth Beach Holiday Park. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Factory Outlets
Clacton Shopping Village is a leading retail center in the region, offering a wide variety of high-street store discount outlets and food and drink options. The mall features well-known brands as well as privately owned businesses with unique offerings. Visitors can explore different shops for various items, including hidden treasures and shabby chic furniture sold at a café within the village. With its open-air design, convenient parking, and friendly staff, the village provides a pleasant shopping experience for everyone.
Didn’t intend to spend much time here but we ended up here for hours. Really good deals on in most of the shops, also plenty of places to get a drink and some lunch. Toilets available and hundreds of parking spaces available as they have 2 overflow car parks opposite the main one too, so definitely don’t see anyone struggling for parking there. 🚨 WORTH NOTING 🚨 the free parking is for upto 4 hours, but if you buy something, you can show your receipt to the information desk, and they will extend your parking for free!! This was handy as we spent some time in each shop and stopped for coffee&cake too so we were there much longer!! 🙌🏻☺️

I recently visited Clacton Shopping Village and had a pleasant experience. The variety of stores is great, offering something for everyone, from high-end brands to more affordable options. The layout is easy to navigate, and the open-air design creates a relaxed and enjoyable shopping atmosphere. Parking was convenient with plenty of space, and the staff in most shops were friendly and helpful. The discounts were decent, especially in some of the outlet stores. However, a few more dining options would enhance the experience as the choices felt somewhat limited for a shopping day out. Overall, it’s a nice spot for a shopping spree or to grab some bargains. I’ll definitely be returning.

Good shopping village in a nice location. 4 hours free parking. Good variety of shops. I give it 5 stars if they had restaurants and entertainment venues like bowling, cinema etc. But they do have Costa, Greggs, Subway and another coffee shop inside the village. It was my first time here, will definitely go back there again. It’s not too bad really.

St Osyth Sunday Market is a delightful destination for those seeking a classic seaside experience with friends and family. This charming market has been a staple for years, offering an array of stalls featuring clothing, household goods, toys, and even fresh fish and meat on weekends. Visitors can enjoy free parking conveniently located nearby, although it's worth noting that the ground can be uneven due to shingle—making it important for those with mobility challenges to take care.
Great little market, plenty to see and buy. It's been going for years. Free parking right next to the market. Disabled people be aware that the ground on the market is uneven due to large shingle. But otherwise walkable and those using mobility scooters shouldn't have any difficulty.

Plain old fashioned seaside day out for friends and family. Easy parking (April). Friendly people. Plenty of places to sit, eat and drink. A nice seaside Cafe, a Fish and Chip Shop and pub on site. Playground and small amusement arcade. Easy access to beach and dog friendly.

Nice to have a walk past the stalls. However, very pushy vendors with no prices on clothes. He told me 120 for a jacket that obviously is worth 50 quid and not as he says from the west end, haha A lot of products with inflated prices that have been purchased from Temu This was not all vendors, just some of them

I loved the bowling on a Sunday night at 9pm, it was quiet, we could relax, chat and there was no rush! 2 games and a lot of fun!. The place was well maintained, the arcade seen through the glass on the right makes a great, lively atmosphere! There is a dining area, a bar and a few pool tables too. This Is the lower half of the pier. Would definitely go again!

Splash park was really amazing for the kids, clean but could do with a wipe down each session because of bird poo! 3 stars however because of lack of shade only a few tables with umbrellas that hardly cover the table and also because a new rule stating you can’t take buggies up? Hard to do when you have a toddler and a newborn and no other shade to have the newborn in other than a buggy?

All day ticket £15pp not all rides were open ,minimal staff on site, had to wait for staff to get to rides, only one staff member qualified to operate the bigger rides on the day we attended. Definitely not worth the money. To me all day is from 8/9am to 5/6pm.Park only opens at 11am to 6pm. To be honest the main pavilion pier rides are much better
Vincenzo P — Google review
It was great but the rides were a bit creaky which put me on the edge. The lines for the rides were very long and the arcade area was packed full of people causing it to be very difficult to hear the people next to me.
Ella — Google review
As far as amusement parks go, this one its pretty good one. All the rides and rollercoasters included in the price. Planty of food outlets within the site and delicious ice cream. The only thing is that you have to allow the whole day if you want to experience and enjoy all it has to offer and this at affordable prices. Keep up the good work. People have been locked up indoors far too long and its time to go out there and enjoy it. 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Came in with a family group on a Sunday lunchtime. The lane was quiet so we were able to spread out a bit and get comfy. Prices are relatively reasonable; £8.50 for an adult for one game. Only real complaint was the price of drinks at the bar, which we felt were quite steep.
Emily K — Google review
It's OK but not enough staff so they share turning rides on alot of waiting for them to stop on 1 ride so they can work the next if you miss it then a double wait to get on the ride. If more staff would be worth it more.

Clean, tidy and neat bowling alley attached onto amusements and a beautiful restaurant / bar. Great place for family / friends fun. West Cliff Theatre is a historical venue that showcases various forms of entertainment throughout the year. It features a proscenium arch and hosts popular acts, including tribute performances. Visitors are often pleasantly surprised by the quality of shows, which they find even better than those in larger theaters. The only downside reported by some is an incident involving the bar manager accusing someone in the front row of sneaking wine in, despite having purchased drinks from the bar beforehand.
We recently attended a Dream Coats show and had a fantastic experience. The entertainment was excellent, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and professional throughout. A special mention goes to the ladies’ toilets—they were immaculate and genuinely the best I’ve seen in any theatre! The only slight drawback was the seating, which felt a little tight in terms of space and comfort. Overall, it was a great evening, and we’d definitely return for another show.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Attended the Taylor Mania Tribute Show – Taylormania What an incredible experience! Taylormania is truly an award-winning extravaganza, and Katy Ellis as a self-confessed ‘Swiftie’ absolutely nails the Taylor Swift vibe. The live band and dancers made it feel like a genuine Taylor Swift concert – the energy, the costumes, the atmosphere… just amazing! The show featured all the hits we love, from Shake It Off, Blank Space, Love Story, to Look What You Made Me Do and so many more. The crowd loved every second! The venue is fantastic – always hosting great shows and performances. The staff and volunteers do a brilliant job of making everything run smoothly. I’ve visited several times, and it never disappoints. Plenty of parking nearby on surrounding streets or along the seafront, and ticket prices are very reasonable compared to the West End. Highly recommend if you want a fun, authentic tribute show and a great night out!

St Osyth Beach Holiday Park

Holiday park
Holiday home
Martello Beach Holiday Park is a perfect destination for families seeking a classic seaside getaway. The park, recently renovated and revamped, offers various accommodation options including touring caravan pitches and static caravans. With direct beach access, an indoor pool, and kids clubs, there are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Visitors can also enjoy the historical significance of the area with its 19th century Martello Tower forts and clifftop garden overlooking the beach.
Owning a caravan here and the overall service for owners has been great from purchase to communication. The park has great facilities, the restaurant, arcade and indoor pool are very well maintained and recently renovated, all looking very modern. I really like the location with the beach so close and the access to the nearby park, and the beach side bar that's next to the st osyth park.
Elena F — Google review
Positively, St Osyth Beach Holiday Park is fairly presentable, and the accommodation is in pretty decent order from what I can tell. Unfortunately, there is nothing else of a positive nature to report. Having just returned from an Easter Weekend break at this site, I'm appalled to say it was the worst UK holiday or short break experience I've ever had. The site has clearly been expanded at some point, and there are a vast amount of caravans on it. Ridiculously, the facilities that are in place to accommodate the holiday-makers using all these caravans did not get the same treatment. The clubhouse is insufficient in capacity, with seating being far too limited for the size of the site. The swimming pool, parks and arcade (if you can even call it that), are all substandard. Interestingly, you can walk off into the backreaches of the park and see an old, fenced off play area and swimming pool that look far more appropriate than what they are currently using! The "entertainment" is definitely not entertaining; and bingo appears to take precedence over everything. The fenced off football cage thing is a magnet for rude teenagers. The system in place for booking swimming sessions is totally pathetic. These people sell a holiday package that incudes free use of pool facilities, yet turn you away stating they are fully booked, even for the following day. You would think somebody might consider reviewing this failing system, or building a bigger pool! We were unfortunate enough to be situated in a caravan directly next to a large group of drug and alcohol fuelled folks who considered it acceptable to play loud music, scream, shout, run around on the grass outside, and play musical instruments, until 5am every night! I'm not against people having fun, but numerous requests for some consideration from other residents were met with disrespect. I raised this matter with security at 1:45am (due to having very young children, one of whom is autistic, that were trying to sleep), and nothing happened. I addressed it again in reception the following day, where a very nice lady representative apologised and assured us she would deal with it. She gave us an activity session for the kids.... and clearly didn't deal with it, because exactly the same thing happened again! This makes me feel like - "Well here you are, go and play with some sand, and stop bothering me with your complaints". Essentially, it's a long road in and a relief to drive out of this site. There are insufficient facilities and a culture of "we don't really care now you've paid to be here" amongst the staff and management. To anyone wishing to book a caravan park holiday, I would recommend going somewhere else.
Music A — Google review
The caravan park was clean and tidy, and the lady in reception was very helpful. Our caravan was clean and cosy, the seating being comfortable but a tad too low for us. The park has an entertainment facility, clubhouse, swimming pool and safe children's play areas. There's a shop on site for daily provisions. Just a short walk to a dog friendly beach. Being a fossil hunter/collector I was excited to find a couple of sharks teeth and a ray tooth plate.
June D — Google review
Booked a week here in March. The caravan was okay but definitely not a gold plus with decking that I had booked. Every single piece of cutlery was dirty and I had to wash the majority of the plates/bowls before use. They only left one pillow on the bed and I had my 83 year old Nan with me who needs to sleep more upright (and I stupidly forgot extra pillows). I went to reception and asked for 2 extra pillows to which I received an eye roll and was told I would have to pay and started questioning why my elderly grandmother needed more than one pillow 🤦‍♂️ Wasn’t worth the argument with the arrogant receptionist so I just went to the local B&M to buy a couple of extra pillows. The site isn’t too bad but a lot of open drug use including by staff and maintenance boys driving tractors round like they’re golf carts. Not much going on this time of year at the clubhouse but in fairness the modern building is probably the only positive about the place. It’s situated amongst what can only be described as a shanty town/slum and the word safe doesn’t come to mind. Overall I would not return back here. I had booked 6 stays with park holidays this year but I am now considering cancelling the remaining ones given the poor customer service I received over the pillow situation and the poor cleanliness of the caravan. And Park Holidays, please don’t give me the standard BS response that you hope it will be a 5* experience next time because there won’t be a next time for me.

Arrived at St Osyth Beach Holiday Park on Friday 25 April. Our 2 bedroom caravan was very spacious and clean and we enjoyed using all of the park facilities such as the arcade and swimming pool. Most of the staff members were very friendly and accommodating including one gentleman (didn’t manage to get his name) who helped us find our caravan on the first day. However, unfortunately Ruby (behind the bar in the food/entertainment area) was very rude to myself and my family on a number of occasions over the course of the weekend. I understand that people can have bad days but she was so miserable when serving us our drinks and even shook her head in disgust when my nieces were playing/dancing around. It doesn’t seem right to have such a miserable young girl who doesn’t seem to like young children working at a family holiday park. She was also very rude to my daughter when she tried to take our dog into the entertainment area which I am still confused about as we had seen dogs in there the day before so they obviously have different rules for different people. As previously mentioned, the other staff members which we encountered were lovely so it’s such a shame.
Izzy R — Google review
Took my dog and loved that the holiday park leads straight onto the beach where my dog loved roaming freely. Lovely staff, very large site, convenient facilities, enjoyed the space and quiet as it was term-time. Was a great relaxing holiday away from the city and very accessible with my mobility scooter. I've booked to return in September.
Janine — Google review
Overall, Park Holiday is a decent place – good facilities, nice surroundings, and a lot of family-friendly attractions nearby. We really enjoyed Hasty Parks, Clacton-on-Sea beach, and the pier – all worth a visit if you're in the area. The caravan itself was... okay. Cleanliness is debatable, and what really stood out was the presence of ants – not just a few, but a whole trail marching in from outside. Definitely something the management should take care of. We travel a lot and stay in various holiday parks, so we weren’t too shocked (though this was the first time we had ants inside a caravan). That said, we still managed to enjoy our stay, and the kids had a great time. However, for the same price, we’d honestly recommend Cornwall instead – you can often get 3 nights in a much nicer setting. Our favorite is a park in Newquay – great quality, super clean, and stunning views. Nice spot for a quick family getaway, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

One of the worst places i have ever stayed. The campsite was run down with broke windows and borded up carvans. Our "gold standard" carvan was riddled with bugs and dirty. The staff are rude. Lots of people riding around on electric bikes and scooters no mind for small children. Stunk of weed. Have have to pre book a 30min slot for swimming. Restaurant
M & A Fish Bar is a delightful gem for anyone craving classic fish and chips. Whether you're picking up a hearty takeaway or enjoying a meal on-site, the experience is consistently praised for its delicious food and exceptional service. Diners rave about the generous portions of perfectly cooked cod paired with crispy chips, often complemented by mushy peas and soft bread rolls. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcomed, making it an ideal spot for families or those needing assistance.
I had a chicken shawarma from this outlet and overall, it was a satisfying experience. The place was clean, the staff were friendly, and the seating arrangements were comfortable. The portion size was generous and definitely worth the money. The only suggestion I have is to hot-press the wrap before serving. This would warm up the tortilla and help keep the filling in place, making it easier to eat without the contents falling out. That said, I was happy with the meal and would consider coming back.

I visited this restaurant while traveling to Clacton-on-Sea, as I was trying to find a HALAL restaurant where I could have proper food. After visiting, I was really impressed. The food was fresh, well-cooked and the portion sizes were very generous for the price. The chef, who is also the owner, was amazing. His hospitality and service were excellent. After learning about my origin, he prepared the food in a way that matched the typical taste preferences of my tastebud. The restaurant was very clean and overall, the service was definitely 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Clacton-on-Sea. It’s definitely worth a visit!

The fish was soo delicious, and we had the best seasoned chicken here. we are definitely planning to go there again when we visit Clacton next time.

Got a takeaway from here last night, large cod and chips made from fresh so had to wait 10 minutes, they gave us a few chips while we waited, the fish was lovely and big and the service was great, even bought it out to the car. Would highly recommend for food and service. We have tried a few chippy's in the clacton area and this is the best....

The owner tried to come across welcoming after he discovered I'm a muslim then decided to charge me £12 for sauce sachets. After spending £80 alone for cod and fish meals. I've never been charged so much for sauce sachets from any food business. I was going to challenge him but decided to smile and use this opportunity to warn others. Please avoid unless you enjoy paying for sauce.

Restaurant
Armstrong's Restaurant is a seaside eatery with a Vegas vibe, featuring both a cafe and casino. While some visitors found the service to be fair, others experienced rude behavior from the staff. The food received mixed reviews, with some enjoying their meals while others felt that improvements could be made. Despite this, many appreciated the scenic views of the sea and would consider returning for another visit.
We went to Armstrong's and had the Sunday menu. Kids eat for £1 with adult meal (everyday offer), so that was a win. Windows accross the restaurant so you can look out to the sea / pier, which is nice. In terms of food, the kids both picked popcorn chicken and fries, my wife went for chicken burger and I went for the beef roast (with extra yorkies as the kids wanted them!) The roast comes with unlimited roast potatoes, and was pretty good. The wait time was a little longer than we would have expected / liked, which can be a pain with the kids. We did decide to have desert which made it a bit longer - again took longer to come than you would expect...! Kids enjoyed their desert (ice cream and brownie), I had cheese and biscuits - didn't enjoy as much... I should have asked what cheeses came with it, as they were not ones I would choose normally... live and learn, never minds! All in all, we thought it was OK!

Party of nine for lunch in an almost empty room. Service was chaotic, no one seemed to know what to do. Our food arrived after an hour and we sent two main meals back as they were so poor. Waitress said the chef was only 19 and out of his depth. The two mains were deducted from the bill but we later noticed a 10% service charge had been added. ! Two of us then had to get lunch elsewhere. The waitresses were pleasant enough but poorly trained. I did email to complain but haven’t had the courtesy of a reply.
John D — Google review
Absolutely dreadful. First the waitress challenged where we asked to sit, in the bar area by the window, although the place was empty. Next at the bar, 2 drinks came to £14.50 and my husband had to ask for his 50p change, as the server clearly expected it to be a tip - for what?? And then the food, from our table I could see the chef who put the mac n cheese in and out the microwave 3 times although my husband said it was 'ok'. My cajun chicken burger was just awful, dry, hard, tasteless and only eaten as I was starving, wish I hadn't bothered as later had a headache from chewing so hard. We are locals, not unassuming holidaymakers, and with the plentiful choice of quality eateries in and around the town now we most definitely 100% will not be returning. Good luck if you go there, or preferably, don't bother.
Maryanne H — Google review
Slow waiting service. Smiles few and far between. My fish n chips good, although noone else very impressed with their food. Not busy and a bit dead atmosphere.
Mark H — Google review
This restaurant was lovely and few years back. The upholstery needs a revamp and the bar staff need to smile a bit more. Lovely outlook over the seafront.
Barbara J — Google review
Our group were keen for a quick coffee and snacks, especially as it was a boiling hot day out, and seeing as the restaurant was mostly empty, we came in. The people at the reception immediately looked oddly uncomfortable, and without smiling, simply said "We're fully booked. Your best bet is to sit outside." When our colleague had questioned how that was possible seeing as how there was no one in the restaurant but a couple of people, they unenthusiastically just said "Well, we're booked until 3 PM." At the time, 3 PM was roughly a couple of hours away. No reserve signs anywhere, and when other colleagues passed by again about an hour after, the restaurant was still not packed and had plenty of space. With that amount of time we could have already finished our coffees and snacks, then went on our way. The whole thing almost felt discriminatory, but in the absence of anything verbal to indicate so, we just chose to assume that the staff were not too keen to serve a particularly large party, nor did they seem too keen to be there. No indications also that reservations were required for coffee, which would have been fine, if there were. Very disappointing as they have such a beautiful location, and a lovely interior.
Jezi L — Google review
Used to recommend Armstrongs but last visit a few weeks ago one of our party ordered the meat pie and half was hot and half cold. We did get some money off for this. Thinking it was just a one off mistake we went back today : jacket potato was cooked but barely warm, naan bread was rock hard, side salad had a really slimey leaf, lattes were barely warm even though glass felt hot. Didn't bother complaining, simply won't be going back there. No wonder it never seems to be busy. Shame because it's a lovely venue. Atmosphere only one star as we were the only ones in there on a Friday lunchtime.
Janet T — Google review
I decided to choose Armstrong's to host my baby shower as I had had afternoon tea here several times. I emailed Armstrongs to arrange this i specifically asked for afternoon tea for 25 people on the stands. On arrival was rushed to sit down as they was bringing the food out, was given a buffet (3plates) of sandwiches and couple stands with mini cakes, Couple plates of scones, this was not what i paid for or asked for what a disappointment. Scones were rock solid. Staff didn't come round at all asking if we wanted more tea or coffee, I had to ask for napkins and cutlery, and ask for decaf tea as i am pregnant. If I wanted a buffet I would of asked for it. Afternoon tea is always on stands. As this was my first baby shower this was extremely disappointing. Emailed Graham the manager to make a complaint, he took weeks to respond to the complaint and when he did he was extremely rude and unprofessional. If I could give 0 stars I would of, Service poor, manager rude and not apologetic. Wont be returning to this shambles of a place. Judging by other 1 star reviews looks like others feel the same.

Nice big fish. A little greasy for me, but I ate it all! Best part was really the polite and sincere service from a gent working the restaurant area. Sadly there was no service charge or option for tip on the machine because he actually deserved it. Unlike some places you go..!

What an amazing find!! We (family of 4) popped in on Saturday night and so glad we did! We sat in the dining area at the back and waited for our food to be cooked. It promptly arrived and was one of the best fish and chips meals I've ever had. The fish batter was light and crispy, the fish moist and flakey. The chips were nice and big and cooked perfectly. The overall price of the meal was very reasonable for the 4 of us. We were served by a lovely gentleman during our meal, who was a pleasure to engage with. I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back the next time we are in the area

Great place for a cold beer, hot cuppa or a good range of freshly prepared dishes. Very handy location next to the beach and a carpark too. Seems as if they have had a change of staff and attitudes to customers all for the good! The counter areas are covid safe, staff polite and friendly and the chips, although you do seems to get more of the razor sharp crispy bits than most chippy serve up however that rest of the chips are either nice.

Hastys Adventure Farm is a delightful destination designed specifically for children aged 3 to 11, offering an array of engaging activities that promise a fun-filled day. This converted farm features exciting attractions like ride-on tractors, a sprawling sandpit, and a covered wooden climbing frame. Kids can also enjoy pedal go-karts and interact with friendly animals in the petting area where goats, pigs, sheep, and cows await their attention.
Fabulous day with the grandchildren, excellent value for money, animals very well looked after and loads of space. Numerous activities for the little ones to do, no end of things for all ages with no cost attached as extras. Fabulous day, lots of parking and seats for your picnic if you choose to take one. Little cafe on site for hot drinks and ice creams and again no rip off prices. We will be back again, fantastic days and spent over 4 hours there in the sunshine and also pumpkin picking (small charge for pumpkins if you take away). If not great photo oops at no cost.

Kids had such a great time. Activities for younger and older kids. We spent 5 hours here, enjoyed the sand and water play, soft play and riding down the hill in the little cart. So fun. If I'd go again I probably wouldn't buy animal feed as the animals get so much of it from other people and they were just not interested.

Brilliant day out, perfect for a family with children. So much to do at such a reasonable price as well. It has everything you need. Very friendly and calm animals, I loved the Alpacas! My almost 3 year old absolutely loved it here, he loved the animals, sand pit and the pedal karts. Will be returning again very soon!

We all took a visit to this lovely farm yesterday. My 3 children had a brilliant time. They liked all the animals there and liked to play on the go karts and playing in the sand. They all had a ice cream after playing. All had a nap on way home. This is one lovely place to come.

We had a lovely day at Hasty’s, we were completely unaware the farm existed! My 3 year old grandson throughly enjoyed himself he loved the water feature on the sand pit, the hill ride! and the soft play area but most of all he loved feeding the animals which were super friendly. It’s great to find a place where once you’re in everything is included in the price. I was impressed by the toilets which were clean and easily accessible, I was also impressed by the amount of hand washing water stations. We done some blackberry picking and had lunch in the reasonably priced on-site cafe. All staff were polite. We will definitely be back.

Amazing little gem found in clacton hasty's adventure farm. took our daughter there and she loved the animals. i think from 2/3 up would benefit from a lot of other things they have to do there. Wellie throwing, basketball hoops, go carts, outdoor playing areas, swimgs, carts to go down a hill, softplay, plenty of seating areas both outside and undercover, a huge outdoor adventure climbing area thats also undercover. could spend quite a few hours here having lunch amd keeping the kids amused. Very well maintained with the animals looking in great condition and well kept.

Not a bad farm, much better than a lot I’ve been too, I loved all the animals, sadly the pig was sleeping when we was there so we couldn’t say hello to them but other than that a lovely farm that I’d recommend to people and if you live far but coming down to stay for a holiday defiantly check this place out!

Jaywick Sands Beach in Essex is a hidden gem with soft golden sands and rolling dunes, making it perfect for families. It's quieter than Clacton, offering tranquility and dog-friendly spaces. Nearby beaches like Walton-on-the-Naze Beach are great for fossil hunting, while Hutleys Beach provides a serene atmosphere with its rocky front. The area is seeing lots of investment, and there are plenty of dining options along the beach.
Stunning beach. Mostly sandy, lots of areas that are great for exploring including the sand dunes. There is a path that takes you round the coast towards Clacton. Well worth a visit. Sunspot has opened recently with lots of refreshments options at one end of the beach - recommend the Sunspot Cafe. Beach Bar 82 at the other end has lots of great food options too.

Martello Tower E offers a fascinating glimpse into British military history and provides stunning panoramic views of Clacton on Sea's coastline. Built in the early 19th century as part of a defense system against potential invasion by Napoleon, these towers were strategically designed for military observation and defense with their thick stone walls and circular structure. The area around Clacton features several Martello Towers, each offering unique insights into Britain's historical defenses.

Looking at some of the reviews, it looks like some people have got their Martello Towers confused - this one is Tower E, and is down the bottom end of clacton (as you head out towards Jaywick along the seafront). It's good to see these old landmarks, but other than an info board there isn't much to see in terms of the tower itself. This particular tower has previously been a home and then a water tower for the old Butlins that was on this site once upon a time. (Or so the info board told me!) Whilst I wouldn't recommend coming right out of your way to visit this specific tower, I would perhaps suggest that if you like walking you could walk along the coastline and spot a few of these - there's a few spread out along the coastline...

JAYWICK HOLIDAY VILLAGE Jaywick, planned in the 1930’s as a holiday village for Londoners and now one of the most filmed about places in England. Have a good start, breakfast at Phrills Diner. We chatted with Mr and Mrs Phrills, their excellent establishment is open all year round “for our regulars” said Mrs P. Enjoy the sands with a wide clean sandy beach and quite unspoilt. Friendly locals responded to greetings. In the afternoon we stopped for coffee and bourbon biscuits at L J’s Beach Bar. Another good chinwag, with the L J’s, Mrs was polishing the already spotless counter and Mr was perfecting his cheese toastie for intended for Mrs LJ. We headed to the southwestern outskirts, to the Martello Holiday Park, for a great ice cream; relish a Ninety-nine Flake before heading home not before buying some lovely free-range eggs on the road out of Jaywick.

The Martello Tower (a former 17th century naval warning post) now a WW2 museum in honour of a P51 pilot killed at the end of the second world war; the museum is fascinating and historical. In WW2 the tower was used as a watch post for potential submarine and shipping incursions by the Germans; the estuary was mined and the control switch was at the top of the martello tower, a formidable vantage point.

This tower appears abandoned and part of the local golf course so crying out for a restoration. It appears to be of similar design to most of the other Martello towers. This is the second of three between Clacton Beach and St Osyth.

It was unfortunately full of gristle and inedible bits, which was not what I expected, especially since I've visited this restaurant several times before. To make matters worse, my family members who also ordered the rump steak had similar complaints. It's disheartening to see such inconsistency in the quality of a restaurant we've enjoyed in the past. I hope the management takes this feedback into consideration and works on improving the quality of their rump steaks

Mexican restaurant
El Guaca is a restaurant that has garnered quite the buzz. The staff, particularly Luis, are known for their warm and attentive service. The cocktails are top-notch, with fishbowls being a popular choice. The fiesta nachos are a hit, especially with their generous toppings of roasted salsa and guacamole. Visitors have praised the fun Mexican decor and fantastic atmosphere of the restaurant, noting its cleanliness and adherence to COVID measures.
Lovely place with an endless range of cocktails and delicious food. Very rich and filling meals, their enchiladas are so yummy! Great deals for sharing, vegan option available!

Now this is a restaurant to hype about. Firstly the staff were really attentive and welcoming. Luis was our main server and he had such an infectious smile and positiveness. We started with a few cocktails. A good cocktail is one you can't taste the harshness of the spirit but still get the kick...boy they were good so we decided to order the fishbowls on the menu. The fiesta nachos were filling with the right amount of toppings...the roasted salsa and guac were definitely the highlight. We were spoilt for choice with the mains, we gave into the enchiladas and the chimichanga. Both were brilliant and could have had a 2nd helping of the creamy salsa but it was sooooo filling. We would normally stop at mains but everything was so good, we had to give in to dessert and we weren't disappointed. The Banana Chimichanga was beeeeautiful! Genuinely so good...just the right amount of cinnamon and the dulce de leche with the ice cream which fused into a naughty sauce to enjoy the unique dessert. Coming here ruined my initially planned trip to Clacton-on-Sea coz I wanna go back for lunch and dinner tomorrow. Thank you for making my husbands bday trip memorable.

Fantastic! We visited Clacton just before peak season. We stopped here for dinner and it was fantastic. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, the staff were great and decor was a funky Mexican theme. You can also wear a Mexican hat as you eat. The cheese cake was incredible, probably one of the best I have had. Highly recommended!

Had a great birthday lunch yesterday with my husband and a friend. The staff were so welcoming and went over and above to ensure we had everything we wanted The best guacamole I have ever tasted. All our meals were lovely and fresh Thoroughly recommend

Good food, though it is overpriced in my opinion. Most expensive beers in Clacton, you can get one at the pier for almost half price.Kids eat free, which is a bonus. Just not great value for money.

We had an absolutely brilliant experience! Walked in without a booking on Saturday late afternoon on the off chance we may get a table for 8 (4 adults, 4 kids). The staff were friendly, professional, warm and accommodating. They let us know they could seat us but that the table was booked in two hours time. The restaurant was filled with fun Mexican decor and a fantastic atmosphere, it was clean and followed all covid measures. The menu was impressive, with something for everyone and a particularly awesome vegan menu. The food was incredible and the service could not be faulted. We walked away with happy, full bellies and all agreed it was the best dining out experience we'd had in ages! Cannot wait to go again the next time we're in Clacton! And would recommend to anyone look for delicious authentic Mexican food and amazing service! Thank you El Guaca!

The British Raj is a delightful culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Guests rave about the vibrant flavors and generous portions, with dishes like the Tandoori mixed grill and award-winning onion bhaji stealing the spotlight. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, complemented by attentive service that makes every visit special. Whether you're celebrating a birthday or simply indulging in a delicious meal, this establishment offers great value for money with its varied menu options.
6 of us Went for a meal last night for my Neices 20th birthday. Service was great, very friendly and welcoming. Big portions and tasted as good as it looks.

Our first time using this establishment. And wow we was amazed how deeelicious this was, portions were unbelievable. I went for the Tandoori mixed grill, the wife went for the chicken tikka starter, chicken tikka masala, and side’s we had onion bhaji, saag aloo, pilau rice, plain naan bread. This didn’t just taste awesome it was how colourful & amazing aroma’s. On the menu it states award winning onion bhaji and yes how right they are. As for the portion size, the wife even had enough for a meal the next day. Outstanding food, outstanding service, cannot rate this restaurant enough, I think we have found our new favourite. Bravo guy’s keep up this awesome standard you provide to the public 10 / 10 from me 🙏🏻

Amazing, warm, welcoming place. The staff are so polite & kind, nothing is too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious 😋! 8 of us went & the waiting time was very reasonable. I'd definitely recommend The British Raj to eat in or take away.

I ordered from this restaurant last night for delivery, not only did the food come very quickly ( from Uber Eats ), but it was absolutely delicious! The whole family enjoyed it. I will definitely be using them again.
Adrian G — Google review
Incredibly disappointing. If I could give minus stars I would. Took over 1.5 hours to arrive, everything was pretty much cold, poppadoms, naans and chips were soggy. Curries were an insult literally 5 pieces of dry meat swimming in cold runny tasteless sauce. Side dishes meagre portions and completely tasteless. Considering this is quite an expensive choice of takeaway we don't have this very often so I was looking forward to a treat. Definitely won't be doing that again.

First time ordering from here and omg food was so lovely definitely best curry we have ever had ever. Lovely flavours. Amazing will be going here all the time now. no grease piping hot arrived on time 5 stars all round

Traveled from Frinton due to review on Trip advisor. Drove past it because didn't spot it & not the best looking outside . Its actually opposite car dealership. However the service was good and polite!!! The food was absolutely delicious & I'm fussy. We had the Monday night banquet which was £11.95 . That gets you any starter . Any main course any rice & nam bread . Which was amazing value. The drinks also where not over charged . Great value Great food . Would definitely revisit if in area and recommend !!!

Having been a customer before I thought I would give the ghurka another try after some very bad press last year. Quite frankly it was appalling. I ordered at 6.18pm and was told 1 hour. It arrived at 9pm from the restaurant which is less then half a mile from my house stone cold and inedible. The chicken was tough and like rubber, the portions tiny and I can say hand on heart that it was the worse service, food and after taste I have ever had to endure. I do not recommend and today they have lost another valued customer.

Carvery
Toby Carvery Clacton-On-Sea is a timeless, family-friendly restaurant known for its carvery-style roast meats. They offer children's menus and classic desserts. The service provided by Andrew was exceptional, as he exuded warmth and friendliness, making guests feel welcome. The food at Toby Carvery was delicious and cooked to a high standard, although some customers found the beef to be fatty.
This is our go to miss breakfast go to lunch early place! We find everything is great, it seems like the staff know who the locals and holiday people are. We find going in early is a god send. Otherwise you can be stuck in a big queue. Never had a bad meal ever! Staff are so nice as well. Loads of parking. Brilliant location, can’t wait for summer so we can sit outside & eat.

We visited the Toby Carvery at Clacton today (Thursday afternoon). There's 2 large carparks adjacent to the Carvery, but you will need to enter your registration for free parking. The staff are really nice, polite and helpful and we chose a table with a view of the pier. The food was tasty, but our only issue was that it wasn't very hot. Would we go back? Probably we would as the staff are nice and the prices are fair. Please see my pictures.

Enjoyed a lovely family carvery with a beautiful view of the sea from the window in front of our table. Food was lovely and couldn’t resist a bit of everything. Eyes were bigger than our bellies and none of us cleared our plates. Grandsons rounded of our visit with a paddle in the sea❤️

Had a lovely meal here. Generous meat portions, plenty of vegetables to choose from and the dishes did not look tired as they can with use. Tina, our server, was thorough and quick with the drinks. Checking back to see if we were okay. Great view from our table overlooking the sea, all be it grey when we went! Well done!!

Nice carvery. Good selection of veg and potatoes. Nice and hot. My only moan is i wish they'd slice the turkey into proper slices instead of wafer thin cuts. Best time to go is in the week, avoid Sundays, absolutely manic !
Beverly C — Google review
The place has a Carl park that can be used by restaurant customers as well as general customers who need to pay for the parking. I visited on a bank holiday and the restaurant had employed some temporary staff to scare away non-customers from parking there by saying things like you cannot park here if you are not going to the restaurant, you cannot park and go to the beach. This despite me paying for the parking. This is totally unacceptable and not as per rules. They let me park only when I said I will report this to British Parking Authorities. Such behaviors has dented my chances of ever eating at this restaurant though I used to like this place. Hopefully restaurant owners will take a note and stop such acts.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor the roast was cooked to perfection and the portions were generous. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. Great value for money and we’ll definitely be coming back again soon. Highly recommend!

Stopped here on Tuesday 24th June before playing golf at Clacton. What a gem!! A lovely welcome from the landlady (who turned out to be from Romford, we are from Hornchurch). £4.50 for a absolutely beautiful pint of Guinness. will definitely be back.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this pub. Everything from the service to the food and the friendliness of the locals was top-notch. I had an Aberdeen Angus steak burger with fries, and it was delicious. Only £10 too! My family enjoyed their cod and chips also. The beers and ciders on draught were in good shape, too. Overall, it was really worth making the journey from Clacton, which seems to have a real lack of decent and affordable eating places. Jaywick has a bad reputation, but it's definitely not deserved.
