(Translated by Google) The castle is beautiful from the outside. It's a shame it's so neglected, because it's truly stunning. You can also see a lot of dirt around it, and if you look inside, there's a new, nondescript, abandoned building. It looks like they invested a lot of money, then pocketed just as much, only to leave it abandoned. It's a shame, really, because it would be a beautiful attraction to visit. (Translated by Google) Historic restaurant in Talavera de la Reina, known for its famous stew among other dishes. I went for a weekend with my family and everything was great. The treatment of the waiters was impeccable and the speed in the delivery of the dishes was fabulous. The only "but" for my taste is that the waiter told you the dishes that were on the menu and you did not have a physical menu, and since there was so much variety (15 starters and 15 seconds for €20 on the weekend) you could forget the first courses. But those are personal tastes. The quality of the food very good. I highlight the fish stew and the black rice for first courses. For seconds I would choose the Bilbao-style cod. As for dessert, the cheesecake is very good, although I have tried better ones. In short, it is an ideal restaurant to go to eat with your family and/or friends quietly any day and where you know that they will treat you well and at a good price. Recomendado 100%

A lovely little museum, very well organized. The personnel is knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you may have. It's worth noting that the architecture of the building is also very interesting. It's chilly inside so keep that in mind!

(Translated by Google) The Albarranas towers are a very important part of the historic center of Talavera de la Reina, and they occupy a large space. Talavera had three lines of defensive walls, the one that is currently preserved is the first, ordered to be built by Abderraman II in the 9th century, in certain parts you can see how remains of Roman tombstones or remains of temples were used for its construction. Behind the wall there was a great palace, the Alcazaba de Talavera, being used by Kings and nobles, at the present time only the foundations are preserved, in this place Leonor de was executed. Guzmán, favorite of King Alfonso Regarding the towers, 8 of the 17 that it actually had are preserved. (Translated by Google) The Torres Albarranas are one of the symbols of the city of Talavera within the Historic Center. Built in masonry with ashlar in the corners and in its very high arches. At the top we can see the towers crowned with battlements, stone blocks that were used to hide while loading arrows or arrow slits. It was previously believed that they were from the 13th century, made by Alfonso VIII before the battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, but recent research indicates that their construction dates back to the 14th century, like those of Escalona. Our city overflows with curiosities about every cultural and historical corner it houses.

(Translated by Google) This characteristic construction attached to the first walled enclosure made Talavera considered one of the safest cities for centuries. Built in masonry with ashlar in the corners and in their very high arches, these enormous rectangular towers allowed the moat to run beneath them, and their fronts were linked to another defensive enclosure parallel to the main one, the barbican. They are of Christian origin and were built in the 13th century. Eight complete albarran towers are preserved on Carnicerías, Corredera del Cristo streets—one of which houses the Cristo de los Mercaderes chapel—and Charcón. The remains of two others can be seen in the archaeological site of Entretorres. The Talavera shield includes the albarrana tower as the most representative symbol of the city.

The place is kept cool in the middle of summer, and I'd never been to Talavera de la Reina before, so it was very interesting to learn that it was walled and still has parts of it. Then, the livestock and hat-making sections are very beautiful because they are examples of real businesses that existed in the city. Finally, outside, you can see how they treated the hides and the larger livestock machinery. (Original) ¡Un museo muy bonito! Restaurante Raices, led by renowned chef Carlos Maldonado, offers a unique dining experience with innovative local cuisine infused with global flavors. The restaurant features an impressive ambiance adorned with captivating murals and attention to architectural details. The price-quality ratio is excellent, making it an attractive option for young chefs seeking inspiration. While some starters may need improvement, overall, the diverse 9-course tasting menu provides a delightful culinary journey.
A fantastic gastronomic experience in Talavera de la Reina, with attentive service and dishes full of flavour. Chef Carlos Maldonado does a great job in the kitchen where he is fully involved. Beautiful presentations that prominently showcase the ceramic for which the city is famous. Dishes are small but many, so you will not leave hungry. Perhaps a small improvement point is the wine choices and sumiller service.

What an extraordinary lunch. We dined three days ago, as a party of four, and enjoyed an incredible meal with exceptional service. At the last minute we had to inform the wait staff of some dietary restrictions for one guest - probably a restaurant’s worst nightmare - and they adjusted the dishes on the spot, with no sense of frustration. Her dishes were as fabulous as ours, and she felt very much a part of the experience. We were recommended some delicious wines, also. We met the chef, Carlos, afterwards and he seemed genuinely grateful that four Australians had found their way to his gastronomic oasis! Such a gentleman. Thank you so much, Carlos and team, just superb 👏

I ate at this restaurant last night with my friends, I think the food was good, but the waitress's attitude was terrible, she just did what she was supposed to do, but was full of reluctance, she threw away the little girl's takeaway drink, which is fine, but she should have told us when we ordered the drinks, not after the little girl poured the drinks into the cups and drank them, and finally even gave us the wrong bill, if my friends didn't look at the bill we would have paid more than 50 euros, I am willing to repeat it for the food of this restaurant, but if it is given such a bad attitude, I don't think I would step into it and don't recommend it to anyone
