El Retiro Park, one of the largest parks in Madrid, was previously owned by the Spanish Monarchy. This 19th-century park features a boating lake, rose garden, numerous fountains, and statues.
This is a massive park in the center of Madrid. Edges beautifully laid out and includes a rose garden and a boating lake. There are event spaces, cafés, and restrooms within the park. There are many statues, monuments fountains and decorative architectural elements to enjoy. It is such a wonderful space you could spend many hours wandering throughits fabulous plantings and treated spaces. A wonderful thing to do on a hot day, catching the breeze and shade under the trees.

This park is amazing and beautiful. Even with the several hundreds of people walking around, it didn't feel crowded. The park has so many quiet spaces to just relax and soak in the day. Love the little boats you can hire on the lake, very romantic.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful and lively park in the heart of Madrid! I just finished walking around Retiro Park, and it’s such a peaceful yet energetic place. Many people come here for jogging, cycling, and group workouts, while others simply enjoy a relaxing stroll. I also saw people rowing boats on the lake — it adds such a charming touch to the atmosphere. In the late afternoon, the light is beautiful and many visitors gather to take photos around the fountains and gardens. Definitely a must-visit spot if you want to experience how Madrid locals enjoy their day.

A Peaceful Oasis in the Heart of Madrid – El Parque del Retiro I visited El Parque del Retiro on October 13, 2025, and it was an amazing experience. The weather was perfect — sunny, warm, and surrounded by the beautiful autumn colors of the trees. This park is truly a peaceful oasis in the center of Madrid, full of history, nature, and charm. During my visit, I explored the fountains, the Estanque Grande (the large lake), the elegant Palacio de Cristal, and even the Jardín Escondido, a lovely hidden garden full of calm and beauty. You can easily spend hours walking around, renting a bike or scooter, or simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery. I brought a picnic with Iberian sandwiches, fresh fruits, and dessert — a perfect way to spend the afternoon. The entrance is free, and I recommend visiting in the late afternoon to enjoy the magical sunset views over the lake. The park’s location is excellent, close to the Puerta de Alcalá, making it easy to explore the nearby area as well. Whether you go with family, friends, or on your own, El Retiro is an unforgettable place to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of Madrid.
WILINTON V — Google review
El Retiro Park is such a beautiful and relaxing place in the middle of Madrid. The park is huge, full of trees, fountains, and peaceful walking paths. My small dog loved exploring the park and watching the ducks by the lake. It’s clean, safe, and perfect for a quiet walk or just sitting under the trees. We both really enjoyed spending time there!
Lala — Google review
I think it's the most beautiful park I've ever been to. It's huge, you feel the beautiful atmosphere of Madrid and you can't get bored. It's a great experience to come and enjoy what the surroundings offer and it fills you with energy.
Bianca N — Google review
El Retiro Park is the green heart of Madrid — a sprawling, vibrant oasis that offers something for everyone. The grounds are beautifully maintained and full of life, from joggers and families to couples picnicking under the trees. It’s the perfect place to unwind, whether you’re rowing a boat on the iconic lake, taking a leisurely walk through the gardens, or just soaking in the sunshine on a bench. There are several playgrounds scattered throughout, making it great for kids too. Despite how popular it is, the park stays impressively clean and inviting. A must-visit spot for a peaceful escape right in the middle of the city.

I visited El Retiro Park three days ago and it felt like walking through a heavenly garden! There are so many activities and people enjoying the day one day isn’t enough to explore it all. Definitely one of the best places to visit in Madrid 🌳✨

Palacio de Cristal, also known as the Crystal Palace, is a must-see attraction located in the heart of Retiro Park in Madrid. This iconic and photogenic spot was inspired by London's Crystal Palace and is a stunning conservatory made entirely of glass. Built in 1887, it was originally designed to showcase native plants and objects from the Philippines during Spain's colonial period.
Parque del Retiro in Madrid is an urban oasis that blends natural beauty with cultural richness. One of the park's highlights is the stunning Palacio de Cristal, a beautiful glass and iron pavilion that looks absolutely breathtaking when sunlight pours through its transparent walls. Originally built in 1887 to exhibit exotic plants from the Philippines, today it serves as an exhibition space for contemporary art. Walking through the park, you can feel the tranquility amidst the bustling city. Locals and tourists alike come here to relax, picnic, or simply enjoy the lush surroundings. The lake nearby offers boating opportunities, and the statues and monuments scattered throughout add a touch of history and elegance. Whether you are looking for a quiet retreat or a cultural exploration, Parque del Retiro has something to offer. The combination of nature and architectural beauty makes it a must-visit in Madrid.

Such a stunning place in the middle of the park, the architecture is so beautiful and the light inside of it so intelligent built, as a interior designer I was speechless by the beauty and it was like a magical place in the beautiful retiro park! There are a lot of people so if you want to take a good photo it's not so easy though, maybe you should go really early!

Nice parc and beautiful overview over the river. Recomemnded to make a walk over the aprk and enjoy the peacocks, they are running free!!

During our visit to Palacio de Cristal in El Retiro Park a few days back, we discovered that it was temporarily closed for renovations. While we couldn’t go inside, standing before it was still a breathtaking experience. 🌟 Even from the outside, you can truly appreciate its beauty and grandeur — the elegant glass structure surrounded by lush greenery and reflected in the nearby pond creates such a magical scene. It felt like stepping into a painting! 🎨✨ Though we couldn’t explore the interior this time, just seeing it in person was absolutely worth it. We can only imagine how stunning it must be when open to visitors. A must-see landmark when strolling through El Retiro! 🌳💎

Such a beautiful and iconic place to visit, take your time to contemplate your surroundings, the infrastructure and the nature. It’s captivating

It’s literally the worst park I’ve been to it closes all the green houses, if they really had to construct maybe construct one first? So the other one can be seen instead the just closed two of them. And because of 1 PERSON just had some dizziness someone decided to call the police and shut the the whole park forcing everyone to leave just because of 1 SINGLE PERSON the person could just literally sit under a table with an umbrella or drink water it’s literally a basic thing to do if not just leave the park go into some indoors and enjoy the AC not make other people have to leave, their offices website said it will open at 18:00 but instead they pooped up a sign saying they are taking an inspection I’ve waited for literally 45 minutes, everyone did but all of the people just left due to the fake news. And if you really have the chance to go in… you could only feed the turtles, fishes and ducks or walk around because everything is literally closed.
Alisa W — Google review
It’s closed for maintenance until 2027. But the fountain and trees are nice.
Ruki Z — Google review
Google maps says it’s closed, but if you want to at least see it from the outside, it’s not worth going here until they end the restorations in 2027. The building is covered at every side

Puerta de Alcalá is a triumphal arch located near Parque del Buen Retiro, adorned with elegant sculptures and stone carvings. It is one of the ancient gates that provided access to the city and is considered the precursor of famous triumphal arches in other cities. Commissioned by King Charles III in the late 18th century, this neoclassical monument was designed by Italian architect Francesco Sabatini.
A Stunning Historical Landmark Puerta de Alcalá is a must-see when visiting Madrid. Its impressive architecture and rich history make it one of the city’s most iconic sights. Beautiful both day and night, it’s the perfect spot for a photo or a peaceful stroll through Retiro Park nearby. Truly a symbol of Madrid’s elegance and charm!

During our time in Madrid, we stopped by the Puerta de Alcalá, and it was absolutely stunning! ✨ Standing before this majestic monument, we couldn’t help but pause and take in its incredible history and beauty. It felt like stepping back in time while still being surrounded by the vibrant energy of modern Madrid. The area around it was lively, with people strolling, relaxing, and snapping photos. We spent a little while just admiring the intricate details and enjoying the atmosphere — it’s a perfect spot to slow down and appreciate the city. Such a beautiful landmark, and definitely a must-see when visiting Madrid. 🌆

Puerta de Alcalá is one of Madrid’s most iconic and historic landmarks. A magnificent monument with impressive architecture, located near El Retiro Park. It looks stunning at night with its beautiful lighting and is perfect for photos. There are plenty of nearby cafés where you can relax and enjoy your time. If you visit Madrid, make sure to stop by!

Beautiful architecture and quite a sight to see. You can enjoy it from many local cafés or just walking along the roundabout. The flowers outside are also beautiful. You cannot go too close to the structure though, please be aware of traffic if walking out to take photos.
Sam D — Google review
This is a beautiful monument in Madrid, Spain. One of those places that are a “must see” when visiting this gorgeous and regal city. It was recently renovated, a work that took well over a year to complete, but so worth it. La Puerta de Alcalá is the starting point to one of Spain’s longest streets, La Calle de Alcalá. In this famous square, many events take place during the year, and it is right across from another “must visit” site in Madrid, El Parque del Retiro. The famous Calle de Serrano, known for its many chic boutiques and high end shops, also ends at this square. You can see the other very famous square when you are standing at this site, La Plaza de Cibeles, with its famous fountain and beautiful buildings.

After so many visits to Madrid, I finally had the chance to see it in all its glory — two years later, and it was worth the wait. It had been under renovation during my previous visits, so seeing it fully restored, surrounded by blooming tulips in the heart of spring, was truly a spectacle. An iconic landmark full of history and elegance. Whether you pass by during the day or stop for photos at sunset, it captures the timeless beauty of the city like few other places.

The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid is a must-visit for art enthusiasts, offering a diverse collection of European masterpieces spanning from the 13th to the 20th century. This museum showcases an extraordinary private collection featuring works by renowned artists such as Titian, Tintoretto, Warhol, and Pollock.
Beautiful and surprisingly large multi-level art museum filled with incredible works by the best artist's of our time. Contains a little bit of everything from Baroque & Renaissance to Abstract, impressionism/expressionism and contemporary and too many others I cant think of at this time lol. But, seriously it was very enjoyable, zen and maybe I was lucky but there was even a small flamenco concert that happened on the main level. Highly recommend
Crystopher H — Google review
An incredible collection of art. Prefer wandering the halls here over some of the other more notable museums in Madrid. That said, it can be a little overwhelming in scope/size, with floor after floor, hall after all. But it is fairly well organized and easy to navigate. There is also a small cafeteria should you get in the mood for a snack or coffee. Definitely worth the cost of admission, and definitely worth your time.
Jaded G — Google review
Museum is great, big would definitely recommend to dedicate at least 4 hours to do it calmly and with intention. They have pieces from almost all eras and movements and really liked the route as well. Mondays it’s free so recommend to take advantage of that!! Audio guide was okay, but they focus mainly on a piece at each room and give you a lot of info about it but I was hopping it would be about all pieces or at least more of the overall context or the movement those pieces share, can be better tbh
Tadea I — Google review
Very good museum that covers 500-600 years of art. It’s relatively small and easy to navigate. The collection holds a wide variety of paintings from early Italian church art through landscape painters, Impressionists, Fauves to Picasso and more contemporary artists.
Jan B — Google review
Massive collection of 19th and 20th art as well as old religious paintings. But I’d still say Prado is the best. It’s nice to visit both but if i can only choose one, Prado is beyond
Pei C — Google review
What a great collection! Honestly, it’s my favorite museum in Madrid, mostly because of the Impressionists, but also because it’s just the right size and easy navigation. Start on the third floor and work your way down. This museum doesn’t overwhelm you, it’s perfectly balanced.
Vera Z — Google review
A fantastic collection, brilliantly laid out in a beautiful building. The top floor held the older works, with lots of beautiful religious paintings, some dating back to the 10th century. The first floor contained the more modern works, from around the mid 19th century onwards, encompassing Impressionism, Expressionism, Cubism, Fauvism, Surrealism and more, through Pop-Art, right up to works from present day. The galleries were very well laid out, with a chronological nature to each room - in many cases, it helped connect the dots between the different movements, and bevause of the depth of the collection, in cases like work from Miro or Kandinsky, you could see the artist's style adapting and developing over the years. The ground floor holds the loaned collection from the daughter of the original donor, and contains even more treasures, especially from the Impressionists, with treats from Sisley and Pizarro, and some spectacular Pop-Art period works from the likes of O'Keefe.
Chris G — Google review
The Museum has lots of paintings and it takes a loot of time to go through them, there are some magnificent paintings to check out. The Museum is a definitely worth a visit if you are into art!

Juana La Loca

Tapas restaurant
Juana La Loca is a trendy tapas bar located in the vibrant La Latina neighborhood of Madrid. It's known for serving delicious pintxo snacks on sticks and a renowned Spanish omelet, or tortilla de patata, loaded with caramelized onions and perfectly cooked eggs. The bar is always packed, especially on Sundays when locals gather for a traditional beer and tapas bar crawl.
I came with a clear goal — to try the tortilla — and I have to say, I really liked it. I’d rate it 8 out of 10. We also sampled a few other dishes, but the highlights for me were definitely the tortilla and the dessert with dulce de leche. The dessert was particularly interesting and unique — typically it's made with chocolate, so this variation was a pleasant surprise and worth trying.
Arina V — Google review
I’ve been told multiple times that this place was great, and I can’t explain how true that is. We ordered the tortilla, artichokes and spinach buñuelos, and they were all amazing! The tortilla and artichokes were one of the best I’ve had so far. The atmosphere is also very nice and the personnel is very friendly and fast. One thing to consider is that this place is always full, so you need to get there early.

Phenomenal lunch. I was skeptical it'd be this good because it's so popular with tourists, but there were lots of locals, which was a great sign. Lo and behold, each dish that came out was better than the next. Probably best tasting tortilla de patatas I've tried. Our waitress Alejandra provided great service too. Coming back for sure!
The R — Google review
Oh my gosh, it was just so good! This is not the typical, traditional pinxtos you're expecting, but it's even better. The tuna panko pinxtos were absolutely phenomenal! The teriyaki eel with foie and crispy seaweed and rice was so good that we ordered it again. We also got the egg with bacon pinxto which was simple but done very well. The smoked salmon one was so full of salmon and the filling was so yummy! We also got the traditional egg with potato and it was the best we've had during our trip. You should definitely make a reservation here! The line was so long when we got there, and even as we left, there was still a queue. Highly recommend this place! One of the best restaurants we've eaten at!

Thank you, Ángel, for taking such great care of us—impeccable service and a truly kind person! We were looking for some more refined tapas beyond the usual croquetas and jamón (which are great, but Spanish cuisine has so much more to offer). We tried the roast beef, foie gras, and the one with anchovies—all beautifully prepared, delicate, and full of flavor. We definitely need to come back to try their popular tortilla. The waiting time was very reasonable, and the playlist and overall vibe were fantastic.

Truly on the best tapas experiences I’ve had in my life! Had their signature tortilla de papas y canola confitada and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD, as well as other dishes that ere also delicious. HUGE THANKS to our bartender FREDIS who gave us such amazing service and wonderful experience. Super grateful

The tortilla was very tasty. We didn’t have a reservation, but we were able to have some pinchos at the bar. This is a great place to try tortilla — even though it may seem like a simple dish, here it tastes special, and it’s definitely worth ordering. I’m sure the other dishes are also great. For lunch or dinner, I recommend making a reservation, as the place filled up very quickly after opening.

Visited for a quick lunch, staff were very helpful and patient with our limited Spanish. Servers recommended Bocarones and cured anchovies which were 10/10 and really enjoyed the Vermut. Revisited later in the evening and the atmosphere was even better. Really great no nonsense spot

We tried for few days to eat here and try the atmosphere and the tapas. Finally we found the right time ( around 13:30) and we found 2 places inside. The setup is great, you feel the old Madrid, from tables to food, and the service was too. We got mixed tapas with beer , we spent around 45 min and we enjoyed every minute. CEBO Madrid Restaurant is a sleek and modern lounge located in downtown Madrid, near the Paseo del Arte. The restaurant offers creative and elegantly presented Mediterranean cuisine paired with Spanish wines. Chef Aurelio Morales showcases his unique skills by crafting contemporary dishes with strong influences from Spain's traditional gastronomy. The menu features local products such as fresh vegetables, seasonal fish, and select meat options. CEBO has been awarded one Michelin star in 2018 for its exceptional innovative cuisine.
5 star experience. Very friendly staff with tasteful dishes. We picked the classic menu which came with 11 dishes, each plate was created beautifully, with a very rich wine selection. Here comes the million dollar question: Will I go back there again? 100% yes. Highly recommend.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The food is superb, all about the product and respecting it with great technique and simplicity. The service is relaxed, giving you space to enjoy without being overwhelming.
Cristobal D — Google review
The food is highly creative and playful, turning the entire dining experience into a unique journey crafted by the chef. However, while the presentation is visually stunning, the flavors themselves are not particularly memorable or unforgettable. The focus is more on presentation and concept rather than exceptional taste.
Mandy W — Google review
The staff were great, though the food itself left me wanting more. My table of two wasn’t able to finish the full course, though this was more due to our own circumstances - traveling had thrown off our appetites - so I wouldn’t consider that a fault of the restaurant. Although, other guests says that they were struggling towards the end as well. The meal began on a strong note, with dishes that offered interesting textures and flavors. However, as the courses went on, many revolved around a single protein (often fish) paired with sauce. This repetition made the experience feel somewhat flat, and we found ourselves wishing for more variety - whether in texture, acidity, or creativity. Mostly everything was raw fish, that was warmed up with a sauce or technique. At a certain point, I had thought to myself, "Can we please stop with the raw fish and sauce combo. I'm getting sick of this". This is not the thought to have, and made me fuller sooner. Overall, while I deeply appreciated the service, I’ve had more memorable experiences at other Michelin-starred restaurants. This one, perhaps, just wasn’t the best match for my taste.
Justin K — Google review
As soon as you step inside, you’re enveloped in a warm welcome! The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between modern flair and a sultry vibe that instantly captivates you. The team moves with impeccable harmony, making every moment of your experience truly unforgettable.

This spot was pretty solid overall and was well situated in a nice atmosphere. The interior decor was definitely on par as seen by my photos. Personally, I though, sat outside were there was a beautiful seating of around 4 tables with good view of the street and surrounding area. Food wise I really enjoyed the food but I though it was on the pricy side for Madrid. I really enjoyed the Beef Carpaccio and the sandwiches. Overall I would definitely come here if I was in the mood for some solid food with a nice seating

Truffle Pasta – 15€ ★★★☆☆ The truffle aroma was pleasantly pronounced, but the pasta itself was unfortunately overcooked and the sauce too watery, diminishing the overall texture and richness. Frittata – 7€ ★☆☆☆☆ Disappointing. The flavor profile leaned overwhelmingly sour and the consistency was overly wet, lacking the expected savory depth and structure. Tabla Originale (Small) – 22€ ★★★★☆ A well-composed selection with quality ingredients. Satisfying portion size and nicely curated for a small platter. Red Wine – 3.5€ ★★★★★ Delightfully sweet and flavorful. Excellent on its own, with a smooth finish that stands out among wines in this price range.

Very atmospheric place in a very good location. A bit hidden from the main street, it offers a great selection of lunch dishes. The bocadillo with pastrami was really amazing, minestrone was pretty big and tasty, as well as other things that we've tried. By the time we've been leaving around 3 p.m., the place got really crowded. Definitely recommend this place, but be aware of rush hours 😄

I loved our lunch at Velazquez. My parents are elder and a bit picky, so Spanish food doesn't really please them (too much pork, ham, etc). They loved having some Italian food instead. Velasquez was fair priced, the portions were huge and the food tasted amazing.

We’ve been to this place a couple of times – my partner, my son, and I – and we’ve tried two different kinds of pinza, both of which were wonderful. We also tried the vegetarian one, and all of us enjoyed it. The food is delicious, full of flavour, and served with care. The staff are always extremely kind. On both occasions we were served by Angelina, who never once failed to smile at us and gladly fulfilled every request we had – truly a wonderful person. We’ll definitely be coming back often – we love this place! We can’t wait to try the fondue and some of the pasta from the menu. See you soon!

I had a lovely dinner here last night. The Campari Spritz was a great start. The meat lasagne was delicious and the service was gracious. Priced correctly. Highly recommended.

Really nice place. Even though is quite small, it’s possible to get a place for a big group (we were 6, and were lucky that there was a place available when we arrived). The decoration is really nice and the food delicious, would visit again!

For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Bernabéu, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Chocolatería San Ginés. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is a must-visit for football enthusiasts and Real Madrid supporters. With an 81,000-seat capacity, it has been the home ground for legendary players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, and many more. Visitors can take self-guided tours that offer panoramic views of the stadium, access to the presidential box, press room, dressing rooms, players tunnel, and even the pitch. The tour culminates in the impressive trophy exhibit.
I was in awe of this magnificent building. It's metallic outer structure and sheer size is a sight to behold even though you are not a Real Madrid or football fan. Do visit the new flagship Starbucks shop which has a great view of the stadium on its second floor. The mega shop has tons of choices for jerseys, apparel and souvenirs. A must visit if you are in Madrid.

It's an impressive guided tour showcasing the best bits and especially with the panoramic views inside the stadium and even the dugout and changing rooms.I never realised how massive the stadium is. But be warned, parts of the stadium is undergoing some renovations.I hope to attend an actual match one day to experience the atmosphere!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We went to the Bernabéu Stadium, and it was such an amazing experience! Super lively and very clean. Getting in was quick with almost no wait (we arrived about 15 minutes after it started). The stairs were a bit of a climb, but thankfully there are escalators! Overall, a really fun and memorable experience — definitely worth visiting!

Santiago Bernabéu is simply breathtaking. Even though I visited on a regular day, without a match, it was still full of visitors – families, children, and football fans from all over the world. The giant, majestic stadium impresses with its size and atmosphere, giving you a unique feeling that stays with you. An extraordinary experience that is definitely worth experiencing!

One of the best stadiums in the world! The tour was incredibly detailed and well-organized. it took around 2–3 hours to complete, and every minute was worth it. Truly one of the best experiences I hav ever had!

Took the bernabue tour which cost 35 euros per person and felt like it could’ve been cheaper. The stadium was having an event so they didn’t let us stay inside past 10 minutes or so. The whole tour is an immersive experience, the history is well elaborated so even someone who isn’t a fan can connect and appreciate the journey that the team has had. The architecture is appreciative. An entire section is also dedicated to real madrid city.

Amazing stadium! Truly the best in the world. Atmosphere was electric, unlike anything I’ve even seen in a football match. I will come back again and bring my wife kids to experience this. This was something you’ll never forgot and worth every cent.

Simply breathtaking. We went on a guided tour. The experienced lady guided us and explained everything about the stadium. It's worth going with a guide to learn about the history and highlights of the place. Highly recommended. What I liked most was the punctuality. Don't dare come late because you'll be left out.

Shopping mall
El Corte Inglés Castellana is a beloved upmarket Spanish department store located in the Cuatro Caminos neighborhood of Madrid. It features flagship stores on both sides of Calle Raimundo Fernandez Villaverde, offering a wide range of products from fashion and sportswear to homewares and books. The store also houses a supermarket chain, typically found in its larger stores' basements, as well as standalone supermarkets called Hipercor and Supercor.
Friend recommended I had to go here and it just so happened that the hotel we stayed at was right across from el Corte inglés! This department store is so massive.. I think there are over 9 floors including a rooftop. All their staffs are super welcoming and nice. Shoutout to the sales lady at purification Garcia - I didn’t catch her name but she has short black hair and glasses. I went in looking for bags but couldn’t decide .. left the first day without buying anything and she didn’t give me an attitude for it. I did end up going back the next day to buy a couple items from her! This is like the Don Quixote of Spain. Definitely an experience if you wanna do some shopping!!

El Corte Ingles Castellana: great place for tourist and upto 14% tax refund. They have Chinese speaking staff in the refund office
Raymond L — Google review
To be honest it's yet another Corte Ingles, spacious, beautiful, huge variety of products. Low score this time though cause I wanted to get boots. It's sales season. They got a sign as big as the building up front. BUT after I managed to get a hold of the guy to ask about sizes, I found out that they didn't have my number (fairly normal one). And they didn't have it in 4 different brands, 7 different models. What exactly are you selling for boots then?! Plus the rest of the staff were more interested to chat among themselves than help me in any way. To be fair that was the shoe section, the couple of clothes places I got to were better than that. But when it's quiet and you barely got traffic I expect that it's an easier experience for both me as a shopper and the seller, not the other way around.
Periklis K — Google review
Perfect. Always finding what I am looking for. Variety, quality and spacious. Now after the renovation the store looks so much better and modern. My favourite place to shop in store and online. Amazing choice of all products. Always fantastic service!

From clothing, to perfumes, accessories, beauty.... it have a dedicated parking in the building. Good direction signs. Good place to shop for everyone. I had a good shopping experience here. I didn't want to leave seeing all the nice things I could get if I could.

Monument
Las Ventas Bullring, also known as Plaza de Toros Monumental de Las Ventas, is a historic bullfighting arena located east of central Madrid. Built in the 1920s in neo-Mudéjar style, it is considered the most important and prestigious bullring in the world. The venue hosts not only bullfights but also concerts and events. Visitors can explore the fine Museo Taurino to gain insight into this Spanish tradition or simply admire the impressive architecture.
Nice experience for a different day in Madrid. The palace is very beautiful. It lasts about 2h and a half. There are 6 bulls. It's better to buy the tickets online to avoid any queues. There are food and beverages inside, with not inflated prices.
Enis — Google review
This is a hard review to make. I give the place five stars in general because it’s structural marvel is amazing and well kept. The ambience is great, great food, vendors, and drinks, everything about it was great. When the first bowl came out, it was exciting, I was cheering and cheering when the bull misses and marveling at the bravery of the matador. But then came the time to kill the bull, and it was a shock to the senses. I stopped recording after that. After the next couple, I couldn’t take it anymore and I left. It’s a great show to watch and definitely something to experience while in Spain as it’s a big part of their culture. But at the same time, it’s very sad to watch these animals get killed. I did research, and at least they take them to a slaughterhouse afterwards, and the meat is used at local restaurants. So at least they don’t waste the meat/bull.
Nathan — Google review
It was a remarkable visit. We were almost alone and we could enjoy the place better. We could feel the same vibes of people who use to attend that place. Audio guides were thorough and detailed and gave us a wide panoramic of the "Corrida". There is also a museum about the toreros and their typical costumes. We visited it in August and it was burning hot, so we suggest visiting in spring or autumn. We highly recommend it to anyone who wants to really feel like a Spanish for a day.
Marco C — Google review
Really cool place to visit. Whether you agree or not with the sport it is still interesting to understand the history and terminology relating to it all. I found it very fascinating, happy to report no animals were harmed during my visit.

Las Ventas is an impressive and historic landmark — the architecture alone makes it worth a visit. The guided tour gives great insight into the cultural and historical significance of bullfighting in Spain, and the museum inside is very informative. Even if you’re not a fan of bullfighting, it’s fascinating to learn about the traditions and see the arena up close. The audio guide was helpful and well organized. I’m giving it 4 stars mainly because some areas could use a bit more shade and seating, especially during summer heat, but overall it’s a great experience and definitely worth seeing while in Madrid.

Carlos gave us a fantastic tour! We loved all his insights into the sport/art of bull fighting and his great sense of humour. The demonstration by the two novilleros blew us away. The VR experience was a fun little extra. We were a bit apprehensive about bull fighting before the tour, but left feeling much better informed! Such a brilliant way to spend 2.5h. It flew by!
Kersti K — Google review
Came here on a trip from Canada and it was an incredible experience. Just watch out though if you book a seat up high there is not very much room for each person, you are really packed in with eachother. Other than that though, it was really cool to see the bullfighting as it has been traditionally done for hundreds of years. The people next to us were super friendly and explained how it all worked for us, so we got some insider knowledge. Definitely worth visiting, just book some lower more expensive seats if you value your personal space. Also great very large beers they serve.
Adam K — Google review
We went there on October 20 something, the bull fight season is over so the ring was just like a museum to walk around and see what’s inside. I would say they have a lot more potential to make it great because of the arena itself is really beautiful and rich in Spanish culture. But it has nothing besides the lousy audio guide which changed the languages on its own half way through, some part of the arena to see, some videos to watch on a small TV and some Matador clothes collections. The fighting field was closed on the day i was there because they were preparing it for some winter concert (as they informed) so i didn’t get to go down but still they charged the full price. I don’t think it’s worth 16€ at all. Too expensive with so little to see. If you have time and budget to spare, surely it is interesting, if not. You can walk around outside for free and you won’t miss much.

Chocolate cafe
Breakfast restaurant
Chocolate artisan
Chocolate shop
Chocolatería San Ginés, established in 1894 and located near the church of San Gines, is a renowned café in Madrid. It offers a delightful experience of savoring churros dipped in thick Spanish-style hot chocolate, with the option of thin "churros" or thick "porras". The café's charming interior features mirrors and high ceilings upstairs, as well as a cozy alcove downstairs.
The place offering hot chocolate and churros at any time of the day you want, but be prepared to wait for sometime as it's usually crowded. The taste is rich and pure, not very sweet and just apt. There is also a small bar/cafeteria for stopping by within this, but their best-seller is hot chocolate with churros. A must try for something very local and from one of the oldest places in the city, that has been running for years...
Rishika G — Google review
One of the better chocolate and churro places in Madrid. It’s been around since 1894 and has one of the commemorative plaques from the city to recognize that. We ordered the traditional chocolate and order of 6 churros. The chocolate was warm, thick and rich full of dark chocolate flavour. The churros were hot, light and crispy on the outside and slightly tender on the inside. The place is super busy. Packed with tourists with a sprinkling of locals. There are multiple seating areas inside and outside, they almost occupy the entire corner of the street up to the Plaza of San Gines. If you don’t want to a it at a table there is takeaway service. You have to order and pay first then are given a ticket before you can queue for a table. If you sit inside you can check out the pictures of all the famous people that have visited over the years. The wait for a table isn’t too bad as people usually leave after about 15 minutes anyways.

Good churros, but the chocolate didn’t totally convinced me 🥺. This spot seems really successful. It has a lot of locations in the same area, one next to the other, and it was full on a Tuesday night! 📍The Venue: All the locations seem very traditional and comfy. 🍽️The Churros: Obviously, we got the churros. Honestly, they were good—not oily and well-made. The only thing is that I felt the chocolate was more like a soup; I think I’m more used to a thicker consistency. The chocolate was also bitter, and I prefer a milkier and sweeter kind (I’m not sure if they offer another type). They are also a bit expensive, which I think is because of their popularity. 💁🏻‍♀️The Service: They were nice and attentive. 💭Final Thoughts: It was nice, but it wasn't something that blew my mind. Maybe it's just not my taste. Even though I still think it’s a nice spot to try some treats.

Finally made it to Chocolatería San Ginés in Madrid, and it’s every bit the classic spot it’s hyped up to be. Tucked away just off the main streets, the place has that old-school charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a piece of history. 🍫 Of course, I went for the churros with hot chocolate: the combo they’re famous for. The churros were perfectly crisp, light, and not greasy at all, while the chocolate was thick, rich, and just the right balance of sweet and bitter. Dipping them together? Absolute heaven. 🤤 It can get a bit busy (no surprise given its reputation), but the service is quick and efficient, so you’re never waiting long. Definitely one of those must-visit Madrid experiences. Ratings: 🍴 Food/Drinks: 5/5 🛎 Service & Ambience: 4/5 💸 Money’s Worth: 4/5 A Madrid classic you shouldn’t miss, especially if you love churros.

Chocolatería San Ginés is such a Madrid classic! We didn’t have to wait long, which was great, and the churros with chocolate were absolutely delicious — perfectly crispy and rich. The coffee was okay, nothing special, but the main attraction definitely stole the show. If you want a sweet, iconic Madrid experience, this place is worth a visit!

The churros and hot chocolate here are undeniably delicious, making them well worth trying. However, be prepared for a long wait, as the line is extensive. Furthermore, the service felt rushed and somewhat lacking, making it less of a relaxed dining experience,

El Ñeru is a popular Asturian restaurant in Madrid's city center serving traditional dishes such as bean stew and natural cider. The food is good, and the atmosphere authentic and historic.Service is good, but the place can be a bit pricey.
A piece of Asturia in the heart of Madrid. The place is quite hidden but it will surprise you with its warm furniture and hundreds of pictures about its history. The food is eccellent, well prepared and perfectly cooked. The Fabada was incredible, as well as the salmon a la sidra and the Cachopo, just to mention the mains. The service was kind and friendly, just a bit too slow, given that the place wasn't busy. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to try an excellent asturian restaurant! 😋

El Ñeru was insanely good. The food is out of this world and the service from Raúl was amazing. The fact that I remember his name says so, very attentive, very nice and helpful. I had the pulpo, chef’s recommendation. My friends had the lamb (I haven’t recovered yet from how increíble this meat was) and let’s talk about the other huge piece of meat.. the seasoning, the cooking… absolutely everything was cared for. I will definitely come back as soon as I’m back in Madrid.

El Neru was recommended by a friend who lived in Madrid, overall it was a good experience. Fried Squid Croquets & Pulpo were good, although given the price tags I would have expected the portions to be more generous. Their Sangria: best one I tried in town. In terms of desert, their Cheesecake is not the usual international one and I would say it's a must-try. Service was very good: even if the waiter didn't speak English, the attention to the client and effort was admirable.

El Ñeru is a hidden gem in Madrid. From the outside, it looks like a small, cozy spot, but once you go downstairs, you discover a large underground space filled with a vibrant atmosphere and walls lined with photos of famous visitors. The food is exceptional, and the traditional Asturian dishes truly stand out. My personal favorite was the pimientos rellenos de rabo de toro – an amazing, flavorful dish that was perfectly prepared. The staff was friendly, attentive, and added to the authentic experience. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to explore Spanish cuisine in a warm and welcoming setting!

My husband booked a surprise birthday dinner for me with 10 other friends and we had the most incredible evening! I would highly recommend getting a bottle or two of natural cider! For starters we had Pimientos del Piquillo Rellenos de Rabo de Toro - which we highly recommend! Their Pulpo a la Gallega is by far the best we had in Madrid. We ordered 3 kgs of "Chuletón a la Piedra" for the 12 guests which gets served to the table as raw meat which you cook yourself on the hot stone trays provided. Service was highly efficient. Booking is advised as this establishment is rather popular and rightfully so!

Fine dining restaurant
Lhardy Restaurante, established in 1839, is a historic and opulent dining establishment located near Plaza de la Puerta del Sol. It has retained its original Romantic era ambiance with red velvet, dark wood, chandeliers, varnished wallpaper, and gilded fixtures.
Lhardy was an unforgettable experience. Tucked away behind its classic façade is a stunning upstairs dining room that completely took us by surprise—elegant, warm, and full of charm. The food was outstanding: the cocido, oxtail (el rabo), and duck were all perfectly prepared and full of flavor. We paired our meal with a bottle of Champagne and finished with dessert, and every bite was exceptional. The service was impeccable—the staff struck the perfect balance of attentiveness and warmth. We truly felt taken care of. I can’t wait to return.
Gisel K — Google review
A very posh, proper and traditional experience, although a bit stuffy we were excited to try the dinner and famous stew. However the food was not my personal taste, very heavy and meat forward menu, not a lot of inventiveness with the dishes. Not very fresh feeling. Very traditional. Perhaps that is what you are after, but it felt a bit stuffy. Very over priced. The menu is not very seasonal, as we were there in summer, and everything was very heavy. My partner got the meat sweats, a bit ill from all the overcooked rubbery meat. It wasn’t horrible overall but only because of the atmosphere, if you got this food in a bland environment you’d be sorely disappointed. Beautiful bread though. The stew is 65 euro for those asking about current prices. Wouldn’t go out of your way for this one.

Lhardy has been serving old-money elegance since 1839. You walk in and immediately feel underdressed, even if you’re in your best Eurotrip outfit. But here’s the twist, I came for bakery vibes and left with smoked salmon avocado toast. No sweets. Because I’m a rebel. Or more accurately, I needed fuel and not a sugar coma. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted not just with the warm, inviting atmosphere of a classic fine-dining establishment, but also with exceptional hospitality that sets the tone for an unforgettable evening. What made our visit stand out beyond the exquisite food was the impeccable service—particularly thanks to Manuel and Eloy, two waiters who transformed a great meal into a memorable one. Their attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine warmth didn’t go unnoticed. Manuel guided us through the menu with expertise and charm, offering insightful recommendations without being overbearing. Eloy’s timing was flawless—always present when needed, yet never intrusive. They anticipated our needs before we voiced them, creating a seamless dining experience. The food? Simply divine. The pulpo a la gallega was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the Lubina Salvaje was a delicate balance of freshness and bold flavor. The Tarta de Santiago was the perfect sweet note to end the evening, all paired with a bottle of their exceptional house wine. Just had an amazing dinner here! The roasted cod fish was perfectly cooked—crispy skin, tender flesh, and a zesty citrus glaze that tied it all together, although a little bit salty. The beef cheek and mashed potatoes were creamy heaven, and the roasted veggies fresh and flavorful. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, making the whole experience cozy. Also for starters, octopus is completely amazing, but be aware, all dishes are large, we order 3 main course and 2 starters but it too full for us. And most importantly, services here is very good, especially thanks to Mr.Antony, he invited us a fried creamy cod, and drinks for desserts!

We had an amazing experience at Los Montes de Galicia in Madrid! 🍷✨ The food was absolutely excellent, every dish full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, which made us feel truly comfortable. A special mention goes to Roberto, our waiter – extremely attentive, caring, and respectful. It’s rare to find such a dedicated professional who makes the whole dining experience even better. 👏 Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I went here for a date night and it was perfect! We had the octopus, cod fritters, and low loin steak—all incredible. The octopus was the best we’ve had in Madrid, the cod fritters were so good I’ll be dreaming about them, and the steak was cooked to perfection. Our server Roberto was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and spot-on with his recommendations, especially the wine pairing. The manager Anthony was equally accommodating, even giving us great wine suggestions to take home. Overall, an outstanding dining experience with amazing food, service, and hospitality.

Went here with my partner and baby. This is a very child friendly environment. Service was impeccable. Food was excellent. We had the cod fritter that was full of flavor and Galician Octopus which was so tender and tasty. The callos ala madrileño was the best we've ever tried so far. As to our main entree, the iberico secreto, it was juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. The complimentary cheesecake and lemon sorbet were divine! Thank you very much to our very friendly and efficient server, Eloy! We will sure comeback! Jumie & Hector

My wife and I had the pleasure of eating here for dinner. Our server Samy was amazing. He was super patient with us and provided us with great suggestions for food. We had octopus, Iberico feather, and a ceviche with catfish. Everything was delicious. Samy is a knowledgeable and great server. Be sure to ask for him next time you go!

Best meal in Madrid! Our server Samy was terrific! He answered all of our many questions about the menu and made fabulous recommendations based on our preferences. Wish we were staying longer in Madrid so that we could return again for another delicious meal!

This was my second visit to Montes de Galicia in 12 months. The first time, I came with my father-in-law and kids — fantastic experience. This trip, I had no plans to go back, but I couldn’t resist the pulpo a la feria and buñuelos de bacalao I remembered. So I stopped in around 4pm for a bar lunch, and once again — excellent. There’s a reason this place has almost 12,000 reviews: it’s just that good.

Chocolateria San Ginés

Chocolate cafe
Chocolateria San Ginés is a beloved café located just north of the Plaza Mayor in Madrid, serving churros con chocolate for over a century. It's renowned for its thick drinking chocolate and tubular, deep-fried churros. The café is cozy and often busy, especially on weekends when lines can be seen curling around the block. Despite the crowds, the staff are efficient and courteous.
You cannot visit Madrid without a visit to the world famous chocolateria San gines, it’s as simple as that. It was around €5.60 per person for this cup of chocolate and churros, I wouldn’t pick churros off a menu in any restaurant/cafe anywhere really, but here, it has to be done and I have to say, honestly, they’re like no churro I have ever tasted! These were lovely and I am so glad that I have been… I will be going back! You make your order at the till and are given a receipt and escorted to your table. Once sat down, a waiter will come and collect your receipt and then make your order and deliver it to the table, the whole experience is lovely as well as simple. Depending on the seat, the chocolate is prepared in front of you at one of the bars.

The best churros and hot chocolate in the world! This shop is a dream for churro lovers, the churros are perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and always fresh. Paired with their rich, velvety hot chocolate, it’s an experience you won’t forget. Warm atmosphere, friendly service, and pure indulgence. An absolute must-visit!

You simply can’t leave Madrid without trying Chocolatería San Ginés. The chocolate is rich and velvety, and the churros are perfectly crisp, an unforgettable experience!
Angela M — Google review
The churros are soft, might due to the stuff using oily towels covering the churros to keep it warm during winter season!? Imagine the soft moist churros dip into warm wet chocolate! 😂 The chocolate dipping sauce is nothing special too. Over priced and very misleading with so many outlets in the same location! Honestly I have tasted better, hot and fresh fried churros from kitchen and served immediately in Barcelona, Belgium, Thailand!

I thought I'd write a quick review to say I'm always at one of my favourite places. Great coffee and especially great service from the people there especially Arantxa. She's always got a great smile, is friendly and does a great job. A people's person. Now I have to add, although the staff are great, they are overworked because the company won't hire more workers. This is typical. Speed of service is bad here now. This is not the fault of the workers who are great. This is management.

Love the chocolate sauces and crispy hot of the churros. The place also very authentic with oldskool vibes inside.

Churros are soo good here, not too sweet. Cashier was so nice to us and speaks english really well. They have tables outside also!! I recommend this place

The food was very tasty and was served quickly despite the rush. Staff was friendly and welcoming. However, due to this restaurant's popularity a big crowd is to be expected and you may feel cramped while seated. Prices were reasonable.
