Spanish restaurant
Bar restaurante Español, located in Plaza de Plasencia, is a delightful spot to enjoy breakfast, snacks, and dinner on its lively terrace. The menu offers a variety of Spanish dishes such as XL Spanish sandwiches, rice dishes, Extremaduran plates, and artichokes. Visitors praise the great food quality and the attentive staff. Guests also appreciate the generous portions at reasonable prices. Additionally, the café serves delicious coffee while providing exceptional service from passionate and professional waitstaff.
Great service, the food was great, highly recommend the burger and the "Bastonsitos de Presa Iberica". Very good wine and good prices. The place should have higher ratings.
Ralph H — Google review
We had an evening meal which was ok, definitely a place that tourists eat, not locals. We came back the next morning as only a few places were open and we were not surprised to be served a very poor quality coffee. Additionally we had to wait 30 minutes as only 1 waiter was serving. Unfortunately we were in a rush and we didn't have time to find somewhere else but at the end it costs us as we had to wait 30 minutes. I would recommend not going to the Plaza Mayor restaurants if you don't want to have a bad experience.
Noelia L — Google review
This is the pinnacle of extremenian food, the menu del día is cheap, and the quality is the exact same level of home cooking. We had typical migas and lentil soup for starter, and carrilleras and caldreta de cordero for main course. Pudding and flan for dessert. All this for €32 including glass of beer and wine, and bread. Waiter Miguel was helpful and funny. Whoop whoop
Maria L — Google review
Great location, took a bit of time to persuade serving team to take our order although drinks came pretty quickly. We had a starter and mains. My wife's chicken starter, chicken in breadcrumbs with sauce dips was tasty but a little dry but my calamari was fine. We opted for hamburgers for our mains and to be fair they were very good and cooked precisely as we had asked. A bottle of Rioja was well priced as was the Cointreau, albeit I had to explain to the waiter that the Fanta limon ordered was not for mixing with the Cointreau, no I didn't want oranges and lemons!! A pleasantish way to spend a couple of hours
Michael W — Google review
One star is a bit generous, unfortunately I cannot give this place half of a star. The worst food I have had for a long time. Una estrella es generosa. Un cero para el cocinero.

We had a nice lunch. The pepper salad was the highlight. Only slightly spoiled by being charged for 2 portions of iberico ham when we ordered half and half of the lomo and Bellota, which the waitress said we could. It did look like a lot but you never know how much will be served as a ration.

A fantastic restaurant hidden away on a side street off the main square in Plasencia. Menu was on a Q code so bring your phone. Food and service was excellent. The red wine that was recommended was terrific.

(Translated by Google) Very charming place. Very delicious food, very good value for money. And the most pleasant staff. We had dinner on Saturday and we liked it so much that we booked for Sunday. When I return to Plasencia I will definitely go to El Rinconcito again. The sashimi is a delight, and what can we say about the torrijas, one of the best I have ever tried. Cheesecake with real cheese flavor. (Original) Sitio con mucho encanto. Comida muy rica, muy buena relación calidad-precio. Y su personal de lo más agradable. (Translated by Google) This restaurant is located at the foot of the Plaza Mayor of Plasencia, in one of its surrounding streets. For just two menus of 20 euros per person, we ate some "strong" migas del Rinconcito, which were fabulous and secondly a Cachopo in my case and a prey on the part of my partner with gigantic wedge potatoes. The desserts are delicious too. The charming and extremely attentive staff, making the tables as quick as possible. The room is also very nice and the tables are very well dressed. So both in terms of quantity, quality, price and service, we were delighted.

(Translated by Google) We were looking for a restaurant in the downtown area that was quieter, without so much noise, that you didn't have to fight to get a table and that wasn't battle food (greasy) like those in the square itself. This is on one of the streets that leave the square but they accept reservations, it is a clean and elegant place. The food, in addition to being very good, has very good quality. In addition, the employees are very friendly and attentive, something that other restaurants in the area are notable for their lack of customer service.

Even the delicious tapas, I will recommend it whenever I can and when I return to the city I will go without hesitation. Don't hesitate, if you are going to eat in Plasencia eat here. Second, just for the attention and treatment they deserve a ten, I went with my partner, they did not have a place to eat (the middle of Holy Week and in the middle of the passage passing by the balcony of the bar) they still made us a to a table next to the bar without hesitation, super friendly, friendly, very funny, the food is great and on top of that the service is so good, and right in the center, I wouldn't choose another place to eat, more places like this please, and more people like that I serve.

Restaurante Casa Juan is a charming find tucked away in the old town. The boletus al ajillo, a generous serving of porcini mushrooms with garlic and olive oil, was an aromatic delight. The attentive service and delicious dishes like local hot cheese, turbot fish, and homemade desserts made for a memorable dining experience. With fresh produce and efficient service, this restaurant is highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.
We had booked a table at 8:30 PM and had a very nice dinner. Waitress friendly and attentive, food arrived quickly, first course was local hot cheese (torta de casar) to share, second plate turbot fish, dessert técula mécula, a local almond cake, house white wine, beer, water, sweet sherry (Pedro Ximenez), coffee, brandy. We had a great dinner for two and 80 €. We strongly recommend this restaurant.

Catedral Nueva de Plasencia is a historic landmark that consists of two cathedrals, the old 13th-century cathedral and the new one completed in the 1600s. The Cathedral Museum showcases the transition from Romanesque to Gothic architecture and is considered one of the city's greatest architectural treasures. It began construction in the early 13th century with contributions made until the 15th century.
This cathedral is really beautiful and really big. We have enjoyed this so much. Beautiful mosaiques inside. You can visit this cathedral sure for 30 till 60 minutes. The windows are incredibly beautiful. Entrance is not free. 8 eur per person. Don't miss it.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
When exploring Plasencia, the Palacio de los Marqueses de Mirabel is an absolute must-see. This stunning Renaissance-style palace stands as one of the city's most remarkable monuments, second only to its grand cathedral. The well-preserved noble residence still belongs to the descendants of its original owners, which adds a unique charm and authenticity to your visit. While access may vary due to the family's presence, those fortunate enough to step inside will be rewarded with breathtaking interior patios that showcase exquisite architectural details.
A hidden gem. To enter, you have to ring the bell if the sign is on the door. €4 entrance lets you into the private palace of the Marques de Mirabel where you can enjoy the courtyard and a handful of rooms over two floors, including a lovely Italianate upper garden. It has a real lived in feel, slightly shabby and unrestored, which makes it all the more genuine. The tour ends with a series of rooms set up as a hunting museum full of trophy heads, dedicated to a particularly effective family member.
Alan L — Google review
Today I was attacked by the owner's dog shortly after ringing the doorbell outside the museum. The dog was going completely crazy, barking, growling and snarling at me. It was like it was possessed by evil spirits, and full of rage. This is unacceptable, does the owner not know how to behave and control his dog? I complained to the tourist office who phoned the museum. But it was too late, I didn't want to return, given that the owner is too stupid to understand how to behave when you run a museum that welcomes the general public. This is the sort of behaviour I'd expect in a 'favela' in LatAm, not a supposedly civilised country like Spain. Do tourists need to walk around Plasencia armed with a gun or a knife? I had been in the town only an hour, and was already attacked by two different dogs, one belonging to the owner of this museum. Next time, you've been warned, museum owner, I'll be contacting the Police and getting you fined and arrested. You must keep your dog under control!! Otherwise, you shouldn't be in charge of a dog if you can't control it.

Terrible experience, the palace has a mold smell and the state is terrible, the tower stairs are covered with rust and look quite unsafe, not sure how it passed any security review (probably never had one), the hunting museum is a chamber of horrors. Avoid at all costs.

(Translated by Google) I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the experience at the entrance to Mirabel Palace. The person in charge of access arrived at a time she deemed convenient, disregarding the established schedule, and greeted us with unpleasant and rude treatment. The impression she conveys is that there is no interest in visitors enjoying the place or exploring it, which is regrettable, as heritage deserves more careful and professional attention. This situation makes the visit unpleasant and discourages me from recommending the palace to others. I hope measures are taken to improve customer service, as the place deserves to be appreciated and not tarnished by a poor reception.

The Museo Etnográfico Textil Pérez Enciso de Plasencia is conveniently located next to the cathedral and offers a fascinating insight into local textile production and regional clothing. With three exhibition floors, this museum showcases a wide variety of textile pieces dating back to the 19th century and even earlier, including traditional costumes from Extremadura. Housed in a historic intramural hospital, it provides visitors with an immersive experience that highlights the craftsmanship of the area.

A store where they sold some reproductions of their fabrics would also be interesting. In any case, it is worth seeing. (Original) Pequeño museo sobre la tradición textil. Cocktail bar
El Corral Tiki Bar is a hidden gem for cocktail enthusiasts seeking expertly crafted drinks at reasonable prices. The skilled bartenders pour their hearts into each cocktail, ensuring that every sip is a delightful experience. Visitors rave about the bar's inviting atmosphere, enhanced by soothing jazz and blues music that sets the perfect backdrop for relaxation. Many patrons have shared memorable experiences here, including special celebrations like birthdays, where the owner goes above and beyond to create unforgettable moments.
This is probably the best cocktail bar I have ever experienced and I traveled more than 50 countries. It’s simply sublime. The owner ( I guess ) has given us one unique experience on my girlfriend birthday. I remember it very well. It was a otherwise ghost day in Plasencia city on 2 January. We had I think 15-20 different cocktails - all very very tasty - and the serving was the best I have seen ever. Prices also all right. We listened to nice Jazz n Blues all night long. Totally recommended. I’ll surely visit again when I’ll return to Plasencia. Cheers to the man with this opportunity!

Awesome cocktail pub. The gentleman in charge is incredibly kind, attentive, helpful and very fond of his place. Regarding the cocktails, there is a wide variety of them, divided into different categories and really cheap for their taste. We had like 6 different flavours and none of them was bad, they went just from good to better. 100% recommended!

Historical landmark
The Walls of Plasencia are the well-preserved remnants of a medieval fortified wall that once surrounded the city. Built with over 70 turrets, this double-walled fortification stands as a reminder of the city's historical struggles for control between Moors and Christians. Visitors can start their exploration near the cathedral, where they can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beautifully maintained walls and take in panoramic views of the city.
A good visit to this part of the walls of Plasencia and the small museum at the corner, the same walls extend around the historic city center and are very much worth the walk around, there are some very scenic spots.

(Translated by Google) I highly recommend this visit. The service was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and courteous—simply indescribably good, so good that a single "very" wouldn't suffice. The waiter with glasses, in particular, went out of his way to help us: Although he initially had to tell us that everything was full, he still managed to get us a seat inside—I found that very thoughtful. The hamburger and juleton were delicious and perfectly matched. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable evening with service that, unfortunately, isn't something you experience very often these days.
