Great place for dinner or beer with friends and resting after work as well. Many bars and restaurants around with the amazing view on the bay and city. Highly recommended during your stay in Tonsberg.

Sunshine walk along the Brygge can be pleasant, sometimes windy. Nice restaurants, flowers, seating áreas And a longer walk leading to a beautiful bird watching tower.
Tiffany B — Google review
A short stroll from the wharf you'll find a full-scale replica of the Saga Oseberg ship moored in the harbour. It was built to the original specifications using only tools available during the Viking era. Sadly you can't take a ride in it, as the boat is only taken out of its mooring for special events.
Vesna M — Google review
Note that kitchens close at 22 for ALL restaurants on the coast. Then they're just bars, you can get some mild snacks like dorittos maybe maybe
Dace — Google review
On a sunny day, you can never beat this place. Lots of people to sit and watch while you're enjoying a meal at one of the many places along the jetty. Short distances to other places to visit, some historical. Park your car and have a great stroll.

I recommend trying the salad Asian Shellfish. Perfect dressing and cutting of vegetables, lots of seafood. can be as a main course. Also recommend craft beer. Everything tastes amazing🙂

The fish soup is great, bisque soup is also good, but not as fish . Just add dark beer on tap and you will get 5 stars
Nikolay C — Google review
Very good food. Big portions, lots of seafood . Soup was amazing
Karol S — Google review
It is clearly one of the most crowded restaurants next the the harbor, so it says it all. Modern interior, friendly service, and good food. Yes, it appears to be a restaurant for tourists, but the quality of the food and the service is more than average.
Frank Z — Google review
The staff here are very attentive and quick. We didn't wait long for the food and whenever we needed something, someone was there to help almost immediately. Even though it was busy we didn't have to wait for a table. We had the regular burger and the spicy burger (didn't get the vegetarian burger) and they were both delicious. The restaurant is situated on the boardwalk so you'll have a nice view if you're sitting outside.
Kristian S — Google review
Gorgeous view, good and fresh cuisine, service is below average, rude, careless ( I was not served the dish, until we didn’t remind about it, it was about 10 min after my husband was served).

Fish and chips takeaway
Fish restaurant
Roar I Bua is a must-visit spot in Tonsberg, Norway. Located at Brygga, it offers a wide variety of seafood options including king crab, sushi, king prawns, and an incredibly delicious salmon sandwich. The fish burger and fish soup are highly recommended for their authentic flavors. While dining outside, visitors can enjoy the exotic sunset but should be cautious of seagulls attempting to snatch their food.
Good place - best fish n chips we ate on our Norway trip … friendly Many locals bought fresh fish while our stay there.
Bodyconcept B — Google review
Decent food, nothing overwhelming, but good! Langoustines fresh, served cold, with only basic sauce to accompany! But decent Fish & Chips, their so called best seller, decent but not overwhelming, if you call it the famous dish of theirs, one could expect a tad higher, but the fish was well cooked, unique crust (different to the English version) chips almost crispy, sauce pretty standard not what I expected, but hey location is nice and one can enjoy the view!
Peter K — Google review
Stopped by for a quick treat and had the pistachio ice cream... We did have to wait a bit for the staff to come out so we could place our order, and it would’ve been nicer if they were a bit more attentive. That said, the overall experience was still really enjoyable. Thanks for the good time! 😊
Bintang T — Google review
4.5 ⭐️ - The Fiskeburger was delicious. Fish&Chips were good, but a bit too salty. A pity, because the fish was so fresh and crispy; it could be perfect. Toilets are clean and desinfectant was provided, which is helpful.
Marie D — Google review
Great little place to eat fish burger (with a choice of smoked or gravlax salmon), crab and fish n’ chips. Their fish soup is also delicious. The kids loved the ice-cream. Most plates were around 200kr. What’s more, the staff is real kind and helpful.
Nanette D — Google review
Now let me get one thing straight, you can find a fishburger anywhere else, McDonald's and so on. But what this place has to offer is a real deal, at least you can be sure that they serve proper fish food. For 80 kroners a pretty tasty fish burger. And a fish soup that is creamy and has actual fish as an ingredient. Not bad. One thing you need to watch out if you are sitting outside, is Mother Nature's misfits the seagulls. Those guys will do their best to try to perform an air strike on your food. So beware.

Incredibly delicious food, friendly staff, delicious Turkish beer!!! And, most importantly, a great atmosphere. I've been here often. And every time the quality is the same. I recommend it!!!

Delicious food in the Tonseberg area. The only one that's Muslim-friendly. Clean service, lovely presentation of food, large portions that maybe good for two to share (for light eaters). We ordered a mix grill that comes with aromatic Turkish rice called burghul, some pickled and fresh salad. The second dish was lamb chops which also comes with the rice and salad. Friendly, cheerful and presentable staff. Indoor and outdoor seating available to enjoy their complimentary Turkish special tea along with the beautiful lake view. All in all, very satisfied with our experience, highly recommended!

If you like Turkish food you’ll love this place. The food and service were great. They had bottles of Efes beer which adds to the Turkish food experience. It also has a great terrace which gets the sun. An excellent place to go if you’re in Tønsberg. Diolch for your hospitality. I hope to be back soon.

Had an amazing dinner here! The food was full of flavor and felt really authentic – you can tell they put a lot of love into the cooking. The portions were generous and the prices were fair. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is cozy too, perfect for both family dinners and a nice evening out. Definitely one of the best spots I’ve eaten at in Tønsberg – will be coming back for sure!

Excellent food and our server was super friendly and helpful. We really loved this place. Delicious vegan options. It’s an open kitchen design and all of the food is made fresh to order. Highly recommend this place!!
Pam G — Google review
Excellent experience for a large group – great food and service. We went out for dinner with a group of 12 colleagues and had a great evening at Kapadokya. Although their website said fully booked, a quick call revealed they had space – a good reminder to always check directly! We each ordered different mains, and everyone was happy – not a single complaint, which is rare for such a big group. Impressively, all the food arrived at the same time, warm and freshly made. The restaurant is newly renovated and beautifully decorated in Turkish style. The atmosphere felt welcoming, the restrooms were clean and bright, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. We were also offered complimentary Turkish tea at the end, and fresh bread refills were available if we wanted. Only minus (which isn’t unique to them): they don’t accept American Express.

Been here several times & it never disappoints. Great selections of meats, street food, sides & drinks. Cocktails are perfect. Highly recommended, our personal favourite on the harbour.

The food looks and tastes amazing. The staff is always nice and you don't have to wait long before you get seated. The atmosphere is always very nice. The background music is not too loud and always good music. Don't think there is anything on the menu not to recommend

Had the black Angus and lava cake here yesterday. I asked if they could make me a Moscow mule even though it was not on the meny, and they said they were able to, which was appreciated. They did not have copper cups nor did they have any cups to serve it in appearantly. It was served in a tall glass which is not proper at all. The mule itself was also not well mixed and i was not at all impressed with it. The meat on the other hand was made well and the quality was quite good. Was cooked to my specifications and was cut for me by one of the staff. Tender and nice to say the least, though more fat and hard fibers on the sides than i would have liked. The whiskey sauce was really quite good. The potatoes were also of good quality. The asparagus and champignon were fine as well. The lava cake for dessert was overall good, the fondant was of quality and the ice cream fit with it well enough. The gel on the side was fairly good as well, as was the berries. The pop candy on the plate i could have done without. The pricing here is for sure at a high level. They try to match the fairly high pricing with quality, and overall i think they do so decently well. Staff were kind and generally helpful. They were lacking some things like the lobster which we were wanting to get. A overall quality place to visit in the area.
Viking A — Google review
With plenty of parking right outside the door, the Steak On Stone restaurant is perfectly placed a few minutes from Tønsberg centre. As the name suggests, the speciality here is raw sizzling steak served on a searing hot stone. There is a choice of chicken, lamb, beef, etc, then you decide which potatoes and finally sauces. Large indooor area is complimented by a spacious outdoor seating area. We were greeted at the entrance by a smiling waiter who took us to our table, wiping it and the chairs before we sat. All safety measures were observed including disposable menus. The idea here is that your cuts of meat are served raw & you cook them yourself on the red hot stone at the table. In this way you can get your food exactly the way you want it & that's exactly what we got. Another bonus with this concept is the fact that it was mere minutes before our order was delivered to the table. This is a relatively new restaurant in town but already most of the tables this Wednesday were reserved so if you are planning to eat here and I highly recommend that you do, it's best to book in advance. All in all a great dining experience that is refreshingly different. Service was excellent, prices were middle of the tree with two steak dinners costing around Kr.700,- (US $75).

Very good food and service. Cozy atmosphere and we had a great time with the 7- course sharing menu. I underestimated the portion sizes and ordered Pork bulgogi with the main dish. I was alredy full but managed to eat everything because the food was so good. Fast service and attentive staff. Great mocktail with our dinner. Sadly forgot to tip before we left.

Had a meat based appetizer which tasted wrong, and I informed the waiter about it. A while after I got home I started feeling sick. I called the restaurant to inform them about it and they told me "We need you to go to the doctor and get a certificate for us". I would have been willing to gloss over it with an apology, and I feel a refund or gift card for the appetizer would have been a courtesy; I'm not going to spend money on going to the doctor for their benefit unless I actually need treatment. Other than that: The main dish and drinks were good. Waiters seemed maybe inexperienced but were friendly and helpful. When booking I asked them if they could give us a private table for the occasion, and they kindly reserved a good place for us and were very accommodating with timing. Atmosphere is a little odd, like they haven't decided whether it's a fine restaurant or a night club. Would have given 4 stars on food if not for the appetizer, and 4 stars on service if not for how I felt treated with the phone call.

Gravity Sports Tønsberg is an exciting destination for families looking to have a blast together. With its spacious facility, it offers a variety of trampoline activities that cater to all ages and skill levels. The Maxer trampolines are particularly popular among kids, providing extra bounce for those daring tricks. Parents can relax in the upstairs café, enjoying a cup of coffee while keeping an eye on their little ones through the glass walls.
Adults can sit upstairs in the Café and watch through the glass walls. There are several trampoline activities to choose from which also helps spread out the guests. My boys especially like the Maxer trampolines which are extra bouncy for doing tricks on. A great place to have fun in a large facility for young & old alike.

Brilliant facility, lots of space, plenty to keep the kids occupied and a variety of activities for all abilities. Great café and really helpful, friendly staff.

Cool for the kids, but not much to choose in the café. It requires to take off shoes to go to Cafe, which means that you walk into toilet/bathroom on your socks... Not nice

History Museums
Slottsfjellsmuseet is a museum situated in Tonsberg, Vestfold and Telemark county. It is located in the city center, at the foot of Slottsfjellet, offering a glimpse into the city's rich history. The museum features artifacts from the Viking and Medieval eras, including the only Viking ship currently open to the public until 2026.
Closed until summer but did help 2 men remove a small wooden boat from a trailer. Another employee was using a hand planer on a log. The replica Viking boats can still be viewed.
P P — Google review
Fun museum! Mostly everything is in Norwegian or English to learn about the history of the area, whaling, and fortresses. It also houses one of the 4 intact viking ships. It's definitely not as fantastic as the other three housed in Oslo, but this one was a merchant ship, and has a different history behind it.
Christopher D — Google review
Cool museum inside with part of a Viking ship, exhibits on Foyn (the guy who invented modern whaling techniques) and a room of HUGE whale skeletons. Outside they have historic buildings and you can climb to the top of the tower for an incredible view.

A great museum about the history of norway. The surrounding park and builings offer much to experience and a great view of tønsberg.

Lebanese restaurant
Byblos Orientalsk Grill og Pizza As is a standout destination for those seeking authentic oriental cuisine in Norway. This restaurant offers a delightful array of dishes that truly reflect the rich flavors of Lebanese cooking. Diners rave about the chicken shawarma roll, which features perfectly grilled meat with a smoky essence and juicy interior, complemented by a creamy lentil soup bursting with flavor. The mixed grill is another highlight, showcasing moist chicken, tender beef tenderloin, and succulent lamb skewers.
This is my third visit to this restaurant, I was thoroughly impressed. The food here is of superb quality and absolutely delicious. Each dish is a testament to the chef's skill and dedication. Every visit has been a delightful experience, consistently exceeding my expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Keep up the fantastic work!

Ordered mix grill. The meat was grilled fantastically nice spices and juicy. Garlic sauce and hummus was very good like homemade. Good salad, bread and rice overall some of the best kebab I have ever eaten definitely recommend it to anyone. Also it is clean
Elias . — Google review
Good food, big portion at good price. Small place and friendly service. They were closed for some time after a fire accident, and now they have new more modern interior. The only downside is that they have no parking, but you can easily park nearby for limited time (side road parking).
Tabi H — Google review
This is not your average oriental food place, that you can find almost anywhere in Norway. In this case, the food is really good, I believe the owners are Lebanese. I had a chicken Shawarma roll, the meat tasted as a grilled chicken is supposed to taste. Nice and crisp with juicy middle part with that smoky flavour. Delicious, and the lantil soup was creamy and rich with flavour. Where the food excels at, the restaurant ambient falls a bit flat. I know, it is literally a kebab joint, but it should look more appealing for customers, rather than having a sensation you are sitting in a college campus restaurant. And food preparation time justifies the quality, I waited around half an hour for my meal to be prepared. The end result was a quality meal with that uniqueness that is so hard to find these days. But some customers had to wait over 40mins for their food. So I believe that is something the restaurant staff should take notice of. Otherwise, a really good oriental food place.
SaleBrutale — Google review
Wow, just wow! Ordered mixed grill. It had moist chicken, nice pieces of beef tenderloin and a nice scewer with lamb. One of the best hummus I've ever had. Garlic yogurt. French fries and filled pancakes I have when in Turkey. Did I mention the salad with fresh parley and fresh lemon. Oh, it also had grilled tomato and onion. What a genuine meal! I felt like I was on holidays in Greek/Turkey. Will come again!
Jon N — Google review
A small place where one can have a good meal for a reasonable amount of money. We were several persons together who ordered a mix of various food. It looked good and tasted good. All in all and out from expectations, it was a positive experience

Staff were very friendly and helpful, though very young. For some reason despite the other restaurants being packed, this place was quiet. Food did not take too long to arrive but could definitely have been warmer. Perhaps heating the plates might be a wise idea, bit amateurish not to do that if you ask me. Steak was cooked as requested. Do not think I will return, nothing special.

(Translated by Google) Way too expensive for what you get for the money. Small portions. Ordered chicken with cashew nuts. Costs 250,- in most places in the country this costs about 180,- in similar restaurants. Small place, not fancy. 1/2 liter of soda for 55,- is also excessive. The food was decent, but not more than that. Little chicken in the dish. But the food came quickly to the table. (Original) Alt for dyrt for hva man får for pengene. Lite kylling i retten. Men maten kom raskt på bordet.

(Translated by Google) The food was just ok, worse quality and taste than last time, there was also less food than last time, the rice was hot but the rest was lukewarm, ordered beef chop suey like last time, the service had become completely miserable, you came to complain if we finished eating 3 times in a short time, shouldn't you be able to get the food to finish eating before you come and clean up like that!? Price wise it has become too expensive according to what you get served compared to before.

First floor is an art museum and second floor houses changing exhibitions. I enjoyed both floors and thought the combination was great. The museum isn't very big, although big enough for a small town like Tønsberg. It's absolutely worth a visit! There is also a small café there, with a porch overviewing a small park, which is a really nice spot for coffee, regardless of whether you are entering the museum or not.

Ships
Saga Oseberg is a faithful replica of a ceremonial Viking ship that dates back to AD 820 in Western Norway. Crafted using traditional methods and tools from the Viking Age, it stands as the richest find from that era. The original ship can be viewed at the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo. Located near Tonsberg Kommune, visitors can also see the hull of the original boat at Slottsfell museum.
The Replica of the original Viking boat is super nicely made and give a concrete feeling of how it was built. This is great to actually see it floating in the water as you can imagine how it could have been to be in. As the museum in Oslo will be open again by 2026, we were disappointed to not see the Viking boat. Hence this was a good alternative! This is freely accessible on the port. There is also an area where you can observe wood worker building new replica of Viking boats right next to it. This is increasingly interesting! I would definitely recommend a visit if you are passing by. This is free. You can make a donation if you wish to support their work!
Cassandra D — Google review
I think the guys who make this are the 2025 Vikings! Very knowledgeable and welcoming. Lots of history replicas and small display. Love the old style furniture!
Jessica H — Google review
Fantastic!! Must see while in town. There is also a wonderful gift shop next to the new boat they are still working on. All profits from the gift shop go towards the project. There is 1 complete full-size complete boat. Two long boats and 1 full size boat that is still under construction. Ivan, a builder and sailor, is a wealth of knowledge and fun to talk with over at the gift shop!
Dana F — Google review
In Tonsberg, we saw a replica of the world's longest Viking-built ship. It is made with hand tools as if it were made 1000 years ago. In the Viking Ship Museum, the remnants of Viking ships were amazingly discovered about 1997, the longest - 37.5 metres - was built many centuries ago in the Oslofjord area. It is the longest known Viking ship Globally. The Vikings Longship had 78 rowers and a crew of about 100 people. A visit is recommended. Regards, Robertas V.P. CEO, BANQUEINVEST'com

Beautiful replication of the original viking boat discovered nearby in the Tonsberg Kommune, 1904.The Hull of the original boat is located at the Slottsfell museum, Tonsberg. Spring and summer trips available on the boats around the fjord. The viking boats are under covers for winter but you can peak. I photographed a smaller boat and the mooring area used by Saga Oseberg. The foundation Oseberg Vikingarv has built a copy of another famous Viking boat called the Klåstad ship.

La Pergola in Tonsberg is a delightful dining destination that offers an authentic taste of Italian cuisine. Known for its inviting atmosphere, this restaurant serves up a variety of dishes, including their popular four-cheese pizza, which has garnered praise for its rich flavors and quality ingredients. While the bustling environment can sometimes lead to slower service during peak times, many guests still find the experience worthwhile due to the delicious food on offer.

Let me start of by saying the pasta was really good. Full of flavour and just the right texture. Maybe a little too much flavour as it was a little bit hard to really taste some of the fresh ingredients. Only real downside was that we had to wait over 35-40 minutes for the food, and no one told us it would be such a long wait. The service was nothing spectacular, but I suspect that has something to do with being understaffed as I saw everyone running around and some being really stressed. Hopefully they'll fix that soon. I know this is a problem for most restaurants at the moment, so fingers crossed they'll find some capable people to help them:)

Visited today. Very small tables that can hardly accommodate two plates. Additionally they try to add as many people as possible and people eat so close that they nearly touch each other. Unfortunately a bad experience. Service was ok. Food not interesting.

Lovely place, took my dad for his birthday. They were very nice and eye food was good. The wine was excellent! I'd asked to have a candle or something for my dad when I booked, but I guess they forgot.

Had a four-cheese pizza. Great taste and quality. We were part of a bigger gathering and the restaurant was full, and this meant that the service suffered. It took time to get in touch with the personnel upon arrival, when we wanted refill on drinks, and they did not follow up on any other wishes. But I will still recommend coming here for tasty Italian style food. Book a table to be safe.

The food was almost excellent but the waiting almost tempted us to leave! Well, I'm still coming back of course.

Indian restaurant
It was a random visit which made our souls happy with the delicious cuisines we had. You can customize your taste in which staff is very helpful. You can even confirm your bookings by calling them and get you table. I would recommend Moksha if you are looking Indian food with such a wonderful ambience. 😊

Great food! We haven been here many times since the opening and we have always gotten Great service and exceptional food. The place is New and modern, It looks very classy and clean. We always try something New and we are always very happy with the food. I love spicy food and the spiciest, Vindaloo and Tindaloo options actually really hot, love it. The last time we were there and we were given a special dessert, best dessert we have ever had, It was so good! Thank you again! Can wait to come back!

Exciting fresh looking restaurant in the heart of Tønsberg. Spacious and nicely decorated. The menu had all kinds of delicious varieties. But. Despite how hard the staff was working, the waiting times were long. We were seated about 30 minutes before we got our drinks and some papadums. The starter took additionally 32 minutes, although we were told it would be about 15 minutes. The main came 20 minutes later. The staff is super polite and once you get a hold of them you have their full attention. I would say Moksha needs to hire more staff - with such good location and menu, they have huge possibilities with their restaurant. The waiting times was the only damper on the experience here.

Moksha: An Indian restaurant in Tønsberg. I've visited on my very special day i.e birthday last week. The ambience is stunning and the food was delicious. I really enjoyed the cooperation by the staff because they played a birthday song for me. That was such a lovely moment for me. Must vist for authentic taste

Been dining here many times! The food is delicious but the Dessert menu is always out of some items, so not sure if they Get desserts from an outside Source. Service is still a major issue At this restaurant. Always Empty bottles left on the table When the staff brought something To the table. Constantly have to Ask for more water or another Drink. They seem unable to Pay attention to empty glasses That need refilling. Have to almost chase them down For the bill. Almost impossible To consider leaving an additional tip As there’s never one assigned waiter. Always someone different bringing Drinks, the food, take the dessert Order and bringing the bill. It would take very little for this restaurant To become even better and that’s to Have the wait staff be trained better so They can give the customer the service That they deserve while enjoying the Delicious food at this place. Then the evening would be A great experience!

Exelent hotel in Tønsberg, newly fully refurbished and with a nice wiew from many of the rooms. Staff is service minded and the resturant and breakfast serves good home made food. Only small minus here is the small indoor parking, although plenty of parking in the street, anyhow top rating.

Came here for the roof terrace, which should have been lovely, but after being sat down we were ignored by the staff & left unable to order any drinks for over 20 minutes. After asking for some service twice, we left. If the staff learns some attention and care, I cannot recommend it based on our experience here.
Oscar F — Google review
First, they do not have air condition, klimaanlage, klimaanlegg - even though the rooms have a panel its just not working. That would be ok if they wouldnt lie about it on the phone when ordering. After complaining the receptionist said she would check if we can at least get a room where we can open a window properly, but never got back to us. Very nice breakfast though.

Location is great, service very Norwegian, very very poor
Dale T — Google review
Nice hotel with great staff and the food in the restaurant was very good. Room is big and nice but for some strange reason there's no desk in the room where you can work on a computer. Kind of weird for a conference hotel. Instead there is a big sofa with a very low coffee table. Another small gripe is that the socket at the bed table points into the side of the mattress making it hard to find. Very close to the train station and downtown. Changed to four stars since it seems I just got a room wihtout desk :)
