Flea & Street Markets
Mercato di Tarvisio is a charming market located near the Italian border with Slovenia and Austria. It offers a wide variety of options to meet all your shopping needs, making it a great destination for bargain hunters. The market boasts an impressive selection of clothing items, particularly leather goods, including jackets, purses, and accessories. Additionally, you can find stylish menswear and dresses that cater to different tastes.
I visited some of the shops. They have many leather jackets. Prices quoted to me was 200- 300 Euros. But, it seemed like there was room to haggle.
Lawan W — Google review
Some lovely leather items. There is room for haggling even if shop owners claim there isn't 😂 Great coffee inside.
David K — Google review
Only around 70% of the shops are open. Selling mostly leather bags and clothes, most of the shops selling the same stuffs
J — Google review
Visited some shops, they have many choices of clothes and shoes and others. Prices are high but you need long negotiating and bargain.

Not really yunique things to buy.. Maybe good for elder people.. but location iz nice! Visit the nearest restaurant)) and try to pay with card😅😅😅

A small turistic town. Very nice and cosy. People are nice and welcoming. Had a nice lunch at Osteria di Paty. On Sundays you don't have to pay for parking. A very nice place for transit but also for few days of relaxation.
Jianu C — Google review
Be wary about haggling....the handbag guy at the far end didn't put in the bag what I had bought... he removed a strap from inside the handbag.... and had shut up shop when I realised and went back. Check your purchases!

Bodies of Water
Laghi di Fusine, a stunning pair of alpine lakes, is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. Nestled in the quiet wonder of the Dolomites, these neighboring lakes offer picturesque views and serene surroundings. Whether you're an experienced hiker or just looking for a leisurely stroll, Laghi di Fusine provides an ideal setting to immerse yourself in Friuli's natural beauty.
Amazing lake to visit for a day or two. It can get quite busy during the holidays but with some patience you can still get it.
Federico S — Google review
Two very beautiful lakes with a lot of hiking opportunities. The trails going around the lakes to required sure footedness and good shoes, there are a lot of tree trunks and rocks/lose stones. Dog friendly and several options for food and drinks. You pay €5 for a full day to park.
Amber D — Google review
I visited the Laghi di Fusine recently and it was one of the most peaceful and scenic places I’ve seen. The water is unbelievably clear and emerald-turquoise — you can easily see stones and plant life beneath the surface — and the whole scene is framed by the dramatic, snow-topped Julian Alps (you get sweeping views of Mangart in the background). The loop trail around the upper lake is an easy, well-marked walk (about 2 km for the circular route) with benches and viewpoints where you can stop and soak it in. In autumn the trees are changing colour, the ducks glide calmly across the water, and the setting feels quietly majestic — a perfect spot to slow down and recharge.
Naresh P — Google review
Such an amazing place!!!!! I was realy looking forward to visiting this place and it was worth all the long way. You have to pay to park there, but it is an amazing place to visit. HIGHLY recommended. You feel like in a windows desktop wallpaper.
Jennifer C — Google review
We planned spontaneously to visit the lake and walk around. It's always beautiful in sunny days. Nice clean water surrounded by trees. From villach it took around 38min drive. There are three parking spots. One is just before the entrance and 2 after the entrace.we paid 5eurro to entrance for our car. We parked in just 50min from entrace. And enjoy nice walk. Even if you have one hour you would manage one round along the lake. If you have more time can visit both lake.
Jyotshna B — Google review
Amazing clear blue lake in the Julian Apls with great views of the mountains and greenery all around. Brilliant view of the Italian side of Mangart. There is an entry charge to visit the lake, it's not much but we didn't know about it. Parking was easy by the side of the road next to the lake. There toilets and cafés around the lake. The views are amazing. You cannot swim in the lake!! We didn't know and there are no signs saying no swimming. We had 2 police officer type people telling us and a few others to get out of the lake, luckily they were really polite and understanding so they informed us about the no swimming rule and said it's ok this time as it was the first time. We just saw 2 other people in the lake swimming so thought it was ok. You can rest a row boat and row on the lake which is a good option. The rowing boats were pretty but made of metal which didn't feel right so we didn't do that. Good for a stop over if you are in Bovec.
Gaurav G — Google review
It is a very very very beautiful and peaceful place!!! I took a train from Trieste to Tarvisio Boscoverde and walked along the bike paths to the lake!!! Almost like 10km!! Next time I’ll try with the bike! And I thought it’s forbidden to swim in the lake, but yes you can!!! I came for the NO BORDER MUSIC FESTIVAL! If you love nature, hiking, biking, and music, 100% recommended to come!! You won’t regret! But maybe bring some water with you, because the water from the fountain is not drinkable.
Jung-Chun L — Google review
Paradise-like views…visit at weekdays preferably early mornings to beat the (most likely) crowds. Nice to walk around both lakes and have a drink at one of the little restaurants. Easy hiking, kids no problem.

Hiking Trails
Orrido dello Slizza is a stunning natural area featuring a boardwalk that winds through a rugged canyon, offering breathtaking views of a crystal-clear stream. It's an ideal place for a leisurely one-hour walk along the river, suitable for families with children. Starting from the monument of a soldier and taking the path on the right is recommended to avoid exhausting climbs in hot weather. Visitors suggest bringing proper shoes and starting from the parking spot down at the sign for an easier return journey.
This was a really lovely surprise, such a stunning short hike. Best to go round anti clock wise to avoid the steep steps. Just beautiful scenery and the river was so clear. Good small car park by the cycle track. Only takes about 30 mins.
Bruce R — Google review
This is a gorgeous walk, although very down...and then up. Steep wooden steps take you down to the valley. Lovely boardwalk along the cliff edge. Ideal swim spots and a waterfall when you come back up the other way. Nice 2 mile circular walk
Juliette S — Google review
Beautiful hiking/ walking loop trail around the gorge. The entrance is only a bit hidden and you should look out to find it but the trail is well aligned. No tickets needed and free entry.

nice freely accessible path best done anticlockwise to avoid steep climbing. park at grass parking next to a green house, go past the house and follow the route descending to the stream, turn left and enjoy the scenery of an emerald gorge.
Tadej S — Google review
An amazing place! It was so worth coming here - a nice path and the beautiful waterscapes! Free entry. Just be prepared for many stairs (more are at Tarvis monument start), so some physical condition is a must.. Have good footwear as some parts can be slippery. The path is circular and you can start at Tarvis monument going down or follow the bike path and before you cross bridge go left down at the sign. Park at parcheggio di Bardi, it's free and a brief distance to both starting/ending points. I recomment visiting, it is really lovely!
T V — Google review
This is a hidden gem (and free!). It's a beautiful hike along the gorge, and the water is stunning! There's a nice variety of trails. We brought our dog, and there were a few steel grating stairs, which wasn't always comfortable for his paws. Keep this in mind if you're bringing your dog 🐶 To reach the Orrido, you have to go down quite a few steps and then back up quite a bit. The hike itself is manageable! There's a small, free parking lot. We arrived around 10 a.m. (Thursday in September), and there were still a few spots available. Wear good/hiking shoes, as the water and pebbles can sometimes make it slippery 😉

Gorgeous trail by Orrido dello Slizza, a lovely stream that forms rapids and bends in so many ways. The water is crystal clear and there are several opportunitues to get close and stick your hands in - it's cold! Delightful loop trail, I recommend starting at the Napoleonic monument!

Bar Trattoria Miramonti is a delightful gem nestled in a central location, where warmth and efficiency create an inviting dining experience. The rustic decor sets the stage for an informal atmosphere that complements its limited yet thoughtfully curated menu, emphasizing freshness and seasonal ingredients. Diners can indulge in local culinary staples with a creative twist, such as beef tartare, chestnut ravioli, and grilled bacon.
Very good Italian food, great homemade pasta and ravioli, the waiting time is however quite long, but the waiter was very nice. The deserts were delicious- especially tiramisu, chocolate cake with raspberry and crème brûlée
Iga — Google review
An absolutely fantastic experience. We booked a table for 2 from the ski lift and a lovely voice with nice English took our reservation. The atmosphere is great with some locals at the bar and our waitress was very friendly. The food was truly amazing - we had vegetarian dishes which did not disappoint, fresh and full of flavour - my favourite was the starter with cheese and polenta, phenomenal. They took card payment but unfortunately you can only leave tip as cash. Fantastic place. Will recommend to everyone visiting Tarvisio. :)

I found sitting in the back room a bit sad. Others may find it cosy, I did not. However it was weekend and I only reserved at lunch time. Too cold for outside but would rather sit in the front. The place is popular so book ahead and unless you like the back room ask to sit in the front. The Ravioli tasted good but I found them too oily / buttery. I would give them another chance, with the meal I picked and the table I had It was just OK.

We stopped here on the way to Nassfeld and were blown away with the food. Everything we order was absolutely delicious. So that we already made a plan to definitely stop again on the way back. Now we eat here the second time and it is fantastic. All tastes are measured to perfection. Highly recommend this place, warm welcome, good service and delicious meals ❤️

Monte Santo di Lussari is a charming mountain destination with a picturesque village, pilgrimage church, and ski slopes. Trekking enthusiasts will find various routes of different difficulty levels to surrounding peaks.

Beautiful view of the surrounding hills and mountains. Possibility of refreshments at several providers around the church and the path from the gondola to the very top of Višarij. In the small street there are also a few shops with various souvenirs. There is also a church on the hill, which says that this is the only landmark or place where nations unite and do not separate. They are right!
Tadej B — Google review
A wonderful, completely different place on the mountain that is definitely worth seeing.
Vanja B — Google review

Kornelija V — Google review
An amazing place for weekend skiing. Less than two hours from the airport in Ljubljana. You can leave your car at the foot of the mountain at the free parking in Camporosso In Valcanale, where you can also rent a ski equipment. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet place, it is worth staying in one of the three small hotels on the top of mountain. During winter a gondola lift is closed at 16:00. From this time only a small group of hotel guests and service stay on the top. Silence, peace, amazing views. Priceles

The heaven on earth. There are cafes above the mountain where we can eat while enjoying the beautiful view of the mountains. The cable car service makes it easier to reach the top of the mountain. One of the best place for skiing.

Absolutely stunning and beautifull. I went there in the summer and now in the winter and I cant decide what is more beautifull. Its perfect for skiing, walking , enjoying beautifull view and good food. I recommend to everyone to go there in summer and in winter. There is cable car in Camporosso that will take you up. Sill under the impression of that beautiful place.

Very good and tasty tiramisu which was nicely served. Even the price was good. Coffee was normal, but nothing special, they also serve ice cream. Some wasps inside were annoying but these days it is almost everywhere. The interior was nice.

Can't review the hotel, we just came here to eat. Pizza was good, however service is lacking! Order was taken wrong, which is ok, can happened. When we said something about it, they took one pizza away, removed salami, threw some other ingredients on it, and put it in oven. So it was burnt and still had the taste of salami. So yes, the other pizza was good. Make sure your order is taken properly!

Rifugio Locanda Al Convento is a casual inn with comfortable, minimalist rooms that offer stunning mountain views. The staff is friendly and goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. The restaurant/bar serves excellent food, including a recommended balsamic salami appetizer. This spot is perfect for an overnight stay as it provides access to various skiing and cross-country paths. The rooms are well-designed, providing simple yet pleasant views of the mountains.
This is a place where we always love to come back to. This year we have been pleasantly surprised by reconstructed appartments, with brand new furniture, bathrooms and windows. We got lucky with winning the best room with the beautiful mountain view straight from our bed. Waking up to pink morning sky and falling asleep with stars over the mountains. Location could not be better as you are the first one at the slope with it’s unique position on the top of the hill. Food was amazing, staff super friendly, and matching all of our needs - even satisfying my gluten free diet with gluten-free pasta or bread. Exceptional variety of grappas, tasty bombardinos on the terrace watching the sunset. This place is deep in our hearts and we can’t wait to come back, thank you Jure! 🫶

We had lunch here, and the salsiccia was really dry. We believe it was (over)cooked in advance and then warmed up, this is not the taste of a fresh salsiccia. But that's not even the point. The point is that we didn't eat it and didn't like it, and the hostess has nevertheless charged us the full price for it, without offering any discount. We haven't insisted, because it is really not about those 9 euros. But we told her that we didn't like the food, and we believe she should have given us a discount on her own, simply because - we believe - this is how it should be normally done.

Excellent. Stayed here first week in June 2025. Very friendly and thoughtful owner and lady in the bar. My room had a balcony with an awesome mountain view. Very comfortable room smelling of cedar. Supper very good - I recommend the ravioli filled with montasio cheese. Great breakfast got me fueled up for the hike down to Tarvisio.

Would I eat here again knowing what I know? Yes. Would I recommend to a friend? Yes. Not one negative about this restaurant. Amazing views, great staff, and fantastic food. Prices were very reasonable considering the location. Food came quick and was hot and delicious. I would recommend the mushroom lasagna. If you found my review helpful let me know and give me a thumbs up.

Dinner was fantastic. We hope to come back again soon!

Was really disappointed. Everybody was nice, Mr.Iljija approach to us to take orders with a sentence that today they are closed. Then we asked if he wants us to leave or we can order, because restarant was half full and we didn't know what to do. He said we can order and gave us menus. Then it started, everything we wanted to order was currently not at our disposal or we (three of us) must order the same dish. Then he started that he has some dishes that are not at the menu but it felt like he wants us to sell us some left over. So we got three diff. dishes because kinda there was no way back (we should leave then, but you are always better general after battle), they were not to bad, but sure you get the same quality and creativity in better restaurants without Michelin stars chefs for much lower prices. So sorry but we will not return to this restaurant.
Marko B — Google review
Incredible service from friendly and knowledgeable staff, some dishes were excellent others were very disappointing- namely a fish recommended for us which was very obviously old and cooked ( unsuccessfully) to cover up the horrible taste. We should have known better than to choose from the specials, but we trusted the recommendation.

Lago del Predil, a 1-square-kilometer alpine lake nestled in a picturesque valley, offers various activities such as boating and swimming. The lake, named after the nearby Predil Pass, is approximately 1.5 kilometers long and 500 meters wide with a maximum depth of 30 meters. Surrounded by steep mountains, it provides stunning views and features small beaches suitable for bathing. Visitors can also hire recreational boats at the lake's beaches.
A beautiful lake situated on the border between Italy and Slovenia. You'll find a small cafe in the northern area, where free parking is also available. Along the left side of the lake, there's a path that leads to the southern end, and along the way, you can explore a small, abandoned military fort.
Megas — Google review
Beautiful lake with amazing views on surrounding mountains. It is not that crowded and with plenty of small beaches which offer privacy. Also enough parking spaces. On one side is bar. Water is clear and between 10-23 celsius during peak season
Vid V — Google review
The lake was beautiful. You should definitely stop here if you're on your way to Slovenia. It isn't very crowded, it was raining when we went there but it was still beautiful.
Zaina A — Google review
Simply stunning lake , beautiful view. Though the mountains covered by clouds, still beautiful.

The scenery is great, mountains around the clean water but it lacks benches, educational tables, maybe a coffee shop and even a restaurant. That would work like crazy
Kristina S — Google review
The stunning, mirror-like Lago del Predil offers a 1-square-kilometer crystal-clear swimming spot. It’s safe as you can swim alongside the shore, with many places to stash your belongings beneath a rock or a tree - wonderful for solo swimmers. The lake is located at an altitude of 1,000 m, which lowers the water temperature to 17°C during the summer. So bring a full wetsuit. Additionally, a nice coffee shop, Chalet Al Lago, is located next to the parking lot. For more endurance sports suggestions, check out @triathlontrips on Instagram and Facebook.

Parco Avventura Sella Nevea/Adrenalinski park Na Žlebeh, located near Tarvisio, offers an exciting adventure for families with various difficulty levels. The park features five different paths: yellow, violet, blue, green, and red. While the yellow path is suitable for very young children and the violet path is designed for kids up to 8 years old, the blue, green, and red paths are specifically tailored for adults.
Top place for skiing.
Peter H — Google review
Well organized, two routes for small children and three more for grown up. You can stay as long as you are tired. Great for families. There is also a small picnic area.
Roberto V — Google review
I would not suggest this place for children below 10 unless they are really ready to struggle. There are 5 paths: yellow, violet, blue, green and red. Yellow is for very small kids, think less than 5 years old. Can't fall from higher than 50cm. Violet is for kids up to 8, it's tall but manageable, yet getting out of the last segment might require help from an adult. Blue, green and red paths are only for adults. Kids less than 10 will not enjoy them, will probably get stuck and go back. The red path is quite challenging even for a bit more experienced adults. Overall a nice experience but not really good for kids.

With friendly staff and a laid-back vibe, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring or biking. The menu features mouthwatering dishes like carbonara, diavola pizza, and gnocchi—all at reasonable prices.
Small Italian bistro/restaurant with delicious and fairly priced food. The staff was friendly and helpful. Generally a very calm and pleasant place to stop at for food or drink. The atmosphere is quite laid-back so the order takes some time but then you get the food almost instantly. I could get some lemon juice for one euro and salt to make an isotonic drink for my bicycle ride (not on the menu)

We ended up at this village by accident in te first place. But we loved the entire authentic vibe. Especially the kind hearted and caring people (sth with a mtb that broke down). We didn t plan to go out for dinner but... then we saw this place. It looked inviting although only local people were there and it was siesta time. Since I didnt feel like cooking we first asked if it was possible to pay by card. Luckily it was! It was Still early so we first went to the waterfall (which u can apparently ice climb in winter!! *when we are more experienced climbers we will surely try) We loved it. Maybe because we were outside the season. We didnt visit the mines although we understood that the visit was worthwhile. Coming back to the review of this inn. We absolutely adored it. We hardly speak Italian but the woman who helped us was so kind. And the food was amazing!! We had a starter first with cheese and meat but the best of all: their flatbread. We would definitely go back to just ask the recipe for that one! We first wanted to order 2 pizza's but after the starter we Just shared 1 and the taste was amazing too. So cheers to all of the people who still live in the village and shout out to this tasty place!

Beautiful scenery to take in. As English speaking we struggled to communicate our needs. The place was very busy and where we sat it was cramped. The overall experience at Chalet Al Lago is excellent, with a superb cup of coffee and an intriguing restroom. However, it may not be ideal for larger groups. Nevertheless, the stunning lake and picturesque view more than make up for any shortcomings.
There's a small cafe located on the shore of Lake Predil. It's nothing particularly special, especially considering it's likely your only option at this lake. The menu offers various drinks and light snacks, and the service is quite prompt. By the way, the cake we ordered was incredibly delicious.
Megas — Google review
We are driving through the Dolomites and for the third time in three years we are happily returning to this place, which has a beautiful location where you can swim afterwards in Lago di Predil. The food here is excellent — honest, homemade, simple. Nothing complicated. Every time though, in my opinion, the service is terrible. But it doesn’t seem to affect the place — given its location, it will probably always be packed.
Kristýna D — Google review
Same as many other reviews, beautiful location, long waiting time, rude/ignorant staff (except one lady that really tried her best), and the man mentioned a couple of times in previous reviews showed his side to us as well. The food? Take a look at a couple of medium warm carbonaras swimming in egg and water sauce. Very cheap though.
D I — Google review
Today is probably not their day. Staff was literally unavailable. It did not matter if you sit at a table or stand at the bar. No one asks you if you want anything. Toilet is a disaster, it might not have been cleaned properly in the past days. Wonderful location and a catastrophic service.
Ferenc Á — Google review
Dog friendly. Not the best service of food, but it's the only restaurant around so it works. Pasta was a bit boring, needed some veggies and flavour. Quite expensive for the seen.
Travel B — Google review
Upon arriving, we politely asked the staff if we could order in English, but the waitress replied, "Only Italian or German." Fortunately, we had a German speaker in our group; otherwise, we probably wouldn’t have been able to order. It’s worth noting that we were only 15 minutes from the Slovenian border, where the service staff in restaurants almost always speaks Italian, and often at least some English. We hadn’t even decided what we wanted to eat yet, and she was literally just standing next to us, looking at us as if we needed to order immediately. In short, the service was quite rude throughout our visit. The food was just okay. I mean, how much can you mess up pasta? The only positive aspect was the beautiful mountains and lake beside the restaurant.
Aljaz G — Google review
The waitress seemed annoyed to be serving us. We waited for 20min before we got up and went to ask for someone to come, only then the waitress agreed to serve us. She was quite rude and made us feel very unwelcome.
Ewa K — Google review
Arrived with a caper with intention to go for a swim and lunch. Parked where we were not in anyones way and not taking up more than one spot. Were shouted at by older guy within 5 minutes that no campers allowed here and we need to leave. Told us where to park, 45 minutes of driving around - no parking available. This is a joke when you have such a big parking and telling your clients to go away. A JOKE! Ate afterwards here anyway. Prices are reasonable, food is simple but delicious. Wait times are crazy tho, 30 minutes to take an order, 45 to bring it. All in all, if not for the poor attitude, nice spot with an amazing view.

We had an amazing experience at Pizzeria Al Borgo Pacanàis. The food was absolutely mind-blowing — every bite was full of flavour, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The pizzas were some of the best we’ve ever had, with high-quality ingredients and a perfectly baked crust. The service was just as impressive: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole evening feel special. Make sure you don’t leave without trying the tiramisu with pistachio — it was out of this world! Lukas V — Google review
One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had – avoid this place at all costs. We waited an unbelievable 1 hour and 30 minutes for only three pizzas, while tables that arrived much later than us were served long before. The staff clearly forgot our order and instead of admitting their mistake, they kept repeating “10 more minutes” – for almost an hour. When I politely asked after one hour, the waitress rudely claimed I had told her I was waiting for someone – a complete lie. Another blonde waitress, when I asked again, responded in broken English with an arrogant and disrespectful tone I have never experienced in a restaurant before. The way she spoke to paying customers was downright insulting. The employees here act unprofessional, careless, and shockingly rude – as if they are doing you a favor by serving you. Instead of basic hospitality, we were met with hostility, eye-rolling, and passive-aggressive comments. When the pizzas finally arrived (after reminding them multiple times), they were delivered with visible anger. And after all this, the food itself was mediocre at best – bland, cheap ingredients, clearly no effort or love put into it. At the end, I reasonably asked if at least the drinks (2 beers and 1 coffee) could be taken off the bill as a gesture for the disaster of service. The staff’s response? “Next time, don’t come when it’s full!” – said with arrogance and zero accountability. This level of behavior from employees is unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone in Italy, which is supposed to be known for its hospitality and food culture. The staff here are an embarrassment to the establishment and to the profession. If you value your time, money, and even basic respect: stay far away from this place.

Just OK restaurant. Old ambient, old air condition, electric pizza oven. Pizzas were average, nothing special. Especialy if compared to Italian pizzas in general this restaurant offers below average pizzas. Staff is quick and efficient. Prices are repatively high. Pizzas have normal prices. Coca cola (0,5l) is 6,5eur, which i find expensive. They serve it in a glass (not bottle), it came without gas (CO2), so it tasted old. Will skip this restaurant next time.

Outstanding Italian food. Menu had pizza and pastas and desserts. We both had pasta, came out very fast. Absolutely delicious. Great service. Dogs welcome inside. Outdoor seating too. Menu in German and Italian, staff knew English also. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

We had a great lunch here, carbonara and tagliatelle were great. Tiramisu was the highlight !! Thank you for the lovely staffs , very friendly and helpful.

Good restaurant with a mixed Austrian and Italian influences. Gorgeous young waitress - I want to get back :). Food is above average, I like the old italian way of serving: grissini, large amount of parmigiano on a table (today in a place like Rome its a dead tradition). Tiramisu was mind blown. What want more? Maybe canotto style pizza

Simple Italian restaurant. Full of locals and not many tourists. A good thing. Tasty pizza dough. Better than the food was the vibe from a happy local restaurant. We stopped while detouring into Italy while road biking towards Slovenia. Impressed to see local hot shot road bikers stop here as well. Plus mothers with daughters. Fun time!

It's not Neapolitan pizza, but it's delicious. You'll be transported back a few years, but it's recommended for that reason too.

We had a fantastic meal at Al Mangart. They offer truly traditional Italian cuisine, which was absolutely delicious. We were also pleased to see they have excellent gluten-free options, and some of their dishes are suitable for vegans too. The service was incredibly prompt and attentive. Our server spoke fluent English and German, which made ordering a breeze and added to a very pleasant dining experience. If you're looking for authentic Italian food with accommodating options and great service, this is the place.

Ristorante Valle Verde is a convenient choice for those traveling to the Austrian border, offering ample parking and exceptional food. Guests have praised the originality of the service and the generous portions of high-quality dishes, particularly the second courses. The tableside preparation of dishes like tartar adds an extra touch to the dining experience. The warm hospitality of the owners and welcoming wooden furniture contribute to a pleasant atmosphere.
If there was only one place to stay in Italy this would be it! Very nice staff, rooms are spacious and very clean. Conveniently located a few steps from skiing slope and ski rental. Breakfast included. Worth every penny. Incredible baked goods, yummy selection of ham, cheese, jams, etc. It left me impressed! The Starr very courteous! Made the entire experience impeccable!

(Translated by Google) We wanted to have lunch here yesterday as a family with children and a dog. We were rudely informed right at the entrance that dogs were not welcome here. There is no Italian hospitality here. Should we leave the dog in the car when it's over 30 degrees? Where the paid parking lot is also in the blazing sun. Absolutely no recommendation. Absolut keine Empfehlung.

The menu included soup (Tortellini soup), main course (Boletus tagliatelle), dessert (Profiterol - chocolate, vanilla and pistachio). Local "craft beer" was the thirst quencher. Clean, nice environment with delicious food. We had to wait for a table because we came in from the street. We didn't have to wait long. Recommended category and place! we were late for 20 mins and but our teacher Pietro waited for us, he is really a funny teacher, he speak English perfectly and teach us how to ski very patiently. Would love to come back and get a lesson with him again, thank you

The access roads and walkways were very icy, an they looked like they have not been cleaned for days. The ski school use most of the ski track, most of the time. You literary have very little space to move around. Ski school don't have priority on teleski, but they take priority for granted. And the instructors encourage them to get in front of everyone. The ski paths had areas where they were very icy, and areas where the snow is super fluffy. All in all, the experience was unpleasant, and I would not return here.

Nice ski resort. At the morning conditions really good. Later is was worse. A lot of people and ice on slopes. But a lot of slopes and lifts so for someone who want to explore, it was good.

Pizzeria Ristorante da Meggy is a charming dining spot in Tarvis, Slovenia that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. Visitors have praised the excellent service and delicious pizza. The restaurant's cozy ambiance and friendly staff have left a positive impression on guests from various countries, including Hungary. The fusion of Caribbean/Dominican and Italian cuisine adds an interesting twist to the dining experience, making it a delightful place to savor great food and enjoy the company of welcoming hosts.
What a nice place to eat! We came from Slovenia and we had a short break in Tarvis for dinner. From outside the place looks very welcoming. The pizza was super, the service excellent and the restaurant has a cozy and friendly atmosphere. We had the honor to meet the owners and it was nice to see how Caribbean/Dominican and Italian food and culture get together. Eat pizza and cheers with “mamajuana”!

I visited during the Christmas eve. Most of the other restaurants were closed. The staff were humble and patient to take the orders. For several reasons, the food differ on the mountain region compared to the other regions. The hot chocolate that we ordered was not an exception. There was pizza mentioned in the menu. But was not available. But, there were other varieties to choose from though. I dont recommend French fries. I was able to experience the Caribbean taste here. It was good too. Until next time, have a good one!!

We came from Hungary and stoped at this place. the pizza was one of the best I had and so place and the guts here are so friendly and sweet. Thank you so much
Mazin O — Google review
The restaurant looks great, but when you sit down at the table, the tablecloth hasn't even been changed yet. Then you wait exactly 55 minutes for your food. The squid was bitter, the rice clumped together, and the pizza and pasta were just fine. And at the end there were toilets that were not even usable. All broken. We paid €70 for 4 people, which I think is quite good.
Pia R — Google review
Good food, but we have waited around 20 minutes before we even could order drinks and after that we waited another hour and fifteen minutes before one pizza and two primi piatti arrived. Very poor, especially without being noticed that it would take so long. Oil and cheese we only got on request in comparison to the other customers.

Very bad experience. I had a vegetable soup with a very weird taste and polenta with mushrooms that was too salty and sour. Couldn’t eat it. I also didn’t get any refund.

Revised review: Greeted by a friendly waitress. My son enjoyed a delicious buffalo pizza, and my eldest had a very authentic pizza dish and enjoyed the dessert - great presentation. I decided to skip dinner, and ordered nothing, yet was still charged the cover fee of €2... Go figure.

Strange take on a pizza but excellently done. I’m a thin base fan but a thick base worked the way it was served. Excellent prosciutto and cold mozzarella on top of cooked mozerrella and Passatto base. Best beer I’ve had in a long time and superb desert. Good service on top.

Excellent dinner by chef Francesco. We are from New York and we’re visiting Tervisio on a bicycle tour. Last night we were fortunate enough to have dinner at L’Altro Gusto. By far the best dinner of our cycling tour through Slovenia, Italy and Austria. Clearly chef Francesco is a very talented chef. His pizza dough is incredibly light, the Spaghettoni with fresh tuna had an abundance of flavors and the tagliata was flavorful and incredibly tender. I think we’ll be coming back to Tervisio just to have dinner at L’Altro Gusto again. Lou & Marcella from Manhattan, NY

Nestled in a charming corner, Osteria Hladik is a delightful small eatery run by women, where authenticity meets affordability. The inviting rustic decor features warm wooden elements and vaulted ceilings that create a cozy atmosphere perfect for enjoying an array of local delicacies. Indulge in platters of cured meats paired with freshly grated horseradish, or savor the unique flavors of plum dumplings and tagliolini served with rich venison ragu.
Great place with a cozy atmosphere and good food. The staff makes you feel right at home. I had the polenta frico and it was so delicios. Also the local wine selection is spot on. Whether you’re unwinding after a day in the mountains or just looking for a great meal, this spot won’t disappoint. Definitely worth a visit!

This is an incredibly cozy place, definitely worth a visit! We had spaghetti Amatriciana, which was prepared quite uniquely but was very delicious! The staff was extremely kind and friendly. Highly recommended!

As you enter the place you are welcomed by a familiar and cozy atmosphere. The walls are made of stone, which gives the restaurant a vintage and traditional look, and there are just a few tables. There is some soft background music playing. Overall, dining at Hladik restaurant was a delight from start to finish. The delicious food, impeccable service, and charming ambiance made for a memorable experience.” “My experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. Deserts were high quality however the chocolate salami was disappointing due to excessive coconut and large slabs. Recycling bread might not be a hygienic practice. Overall a decent meal.

Fantastic experience at the Osteria Hladik! The food was tasty, and delicious. Abundant portions. The pasta was very well mixed and the cotechino was handmade by a local butcher.

I’m giving five stars because Osteria Vladik is simply outstanding! Brilliant service, spotless restrooms, and run by three wonderful ladies who offer a different menu every day with unique specials. The food arrives quickly, the flavors are fantastic, and the restaurant is impeccably clean. The appetizers are excellent without exception, and the desserts are simply heavenly. I was completely satisfied and can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

Absolutely the best choice from what we tried in Tarvisio. Friendly ambient, also popular with locals just coming for a drink. Small but clever menu, you can try the local bestsellers. I have FOMO for not trying their frico, so I have to return.
Anže V — Google review
Just fantastic. Osteria Hladik Is a lovely and cozy space with incredible food and knowledgeable staff. Upon seating, we were offered some small snacks with bread and excellent salami, and a kind sommelier came over to take our orders and recommend some wine options (there is so much excellent wine packed in this Osteria!) - we decided on a Refosco/Cabernet/Merlot blend, fantastic. The menu was really small, which we appreciated: strong focus on a few, well made dishes. We ordered some excellent prosciutto D'Osvaldo, and then some pasta: tagliolini with mushrooms and ravioli with pears and Montasio cheese. All was exceptional. We saved some room for dessert, and it was a good idea: we ordered a Linzertorte, and it was one of the best cakes I have had in the past few years. Absolutely recommended restaurants, if you are in Tarvisio please stop by, you'll be happy you did.
