Camping Playa de Mazarrón is a delightful beachfront campground nestled on the outskirts of Bolnuevo, offering an idyllic escape for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts alike. This charming site features spacious plots where guests can set up their tents or park their caravans, with convenient access to water points. The well-maintained grounds are adorned with vibrant flowers, creating a picturesque atmosphere that enhances your camping experience.
Very well managed campsite. Right by a beach. Great walks and cycling close by plus small coves. Site was spotlessly clean. Really hot showers and great facilities. Particular praise has to go to the cleaning and ground staff. They work really hard and are always polite and cheerful.
Sarah M — Google review
Everything you need in an excellent location, however, the floor tiles in the showers are extremely slippy when wet and the poolside bar closed (7pm) even when there is a terrace full of people drinking. They literally pull the shutters and leave whatever glasses, bottles etc are on the table until the following day which is not only dangerous but unsightly. That aside, generous pitches with water, grey waste and electric plus shade and direct access to the beach plus well presented tree lined roads and pathways all lit beautifully. If the bar area was more welcoming this would have been an easy 5*
Trev M — Google review
Great place with good facilities. Very friendly staff. Excellent dog walking area and the closest beach is also dog friendly. This review wad supposed to be of El Moreral Camping. We didn't go to camping playa de Mazarrón but I can't amend or delete it.

Arrived last weekend for a 2 night stay, my daughter stayed in a cabin for 2 people with her 11 week old baby, chalet was clean apart from stained bedsheets, but air conditioning was too noisy to use!!!! Unable to open windows as no mosquito netting. Explained to reception on the Saturday afternoon and also on leaving when you have to pay both times met with a shrug of the shoulders, sent an email when home only to be replied eventually with a "sorry for the inconvenience", excuse made no maintenance staff available at weekends so for a large site if there is a water pipe burst, electric problem etc you are stuck until Monday ..... unbelievable!!!!! No fan was offered or change of accommodation, or refund. Very disappointed and daughter had to sleep in our awning in the afternoon. Disappointed with the reception staff, and compassion shown looks like they don't care unless you are there for the winter packed in like sardines!!! ALSO NEED TO EMAIL TWICE AS NO RESPONSE TO FIRST EMAIL
Julie C — Google review
Called in to see if they had room for a 9metre motorhome greeted by rude staff!!? And from what I could see they where packed in like sardines will take my money elsewhere
James W — Google review
Fantastic site. A bit crammed in but pitches are quite big. Good for kids and the shades over the pitches is good. Staff very helpful and friendly. Everything you need on a site. The only down side is nowhere for the dog to good to the toilet. She won't go on the path so had to go to the dog beach.
Lesley J — Google review
Two night stopover on southbound coastal trip. Great choice. Easy check in with choice of generous size pitches under shade cloth and shady trees. Sanitary facilities are high quality and look to be almost new. The trees and shrubs make this an oasis with abundant bird life. No dog issues such as have been previously reported. Located on a nice beach and with supermarket, restaurants and other services nearby. Would be 5 star if wifi extended throughout park. And to top it off mid 20s temperatures while the interior of Spain is baking. Highly recommended.
Andy B — Google review
We're staying in our motorhome at this site. It's one of the best sites we've been to. Large pitches, excellent wash facilities and right next to a great beach. Plenty of places to walk to from site. Very clean. There's a restaurant on site, though we've not been to it. Also a shop with a good range of food and goods. Unfortunately, the only trouble is the huge amount of dogs that are also on the campsite! A lot of barking, is not conducive to a peaceful site!

Playa del Castellar is a picturesque coastal destination boasting a golden-sand shoreline, lined with palm trees and complemented by a charming boardwalk. This idyllic beach offers visitors the opportunity to admire a scenic rocky islet in the distance while enjoying delicious cuisine at nearby restaurants. Although the sand may not be entirely smooth, there are sections of sandy bottom further into the water, providing ample opportunities for foot cleansing.
This is our beach because we live right next to it (50m). The only downside is the chiringuito closes for the winter. The sunsets are spectacular

Beach is ok, not smooth sand, more so around the hut that sells refreshments, didn't stay too long due to the wind blowing the sand in my face, but all said, nice place to relax

(Translated by Google) It's a very long beach, composed of fine sand and stones. This is the problem when entering the sea water: the bottom is made of pebbles. If there are no waves, swimming is fine, but if there are waves, it's very difficult. There's a section on this beach where you can swim with your pets. Swimming with pets is allowed, in fact, and even designated areas. The dog beach is called Lalula or something like that. (Original) Es una playa muy larga, compuesta de arena fina y piedras. The Roman Salting Factory museum provides valuable information on the Roman occupation and their techniques in farming, transporting, and preserving meats and oils. Additionally, the excavation of the basement of a town building has unearthed a remarkable collection of artifacts. The tour of this ancient 'cannary' is both entertaining and informative, with free entry and a concise duration. It's intriguing to observe how the foundations of an apartment block above have been preserved.

The Recinto del Mercadillo semanal de Puerto De Mazarrón is a bustling and expansive market offering a wide variety of goods at great value. Visitors can find everything from clothing to fresh produce, and even enjoy delicious cooked chicken, ribs, chips, and potatoes. The market has a good vibe with stalls selling food, clothes, toys, carpets, and more.
Great market with lots of variety and great value for money. Suggest you walk round the whole market first as sometimes there are sellers selling the same item but at a different price. There are toilets and a refreshments van which is good especially if you have kids. The cooked chicken stall does ribs, chips and potatoes and are very good.

On our trip to Mazarrón, we decided to dine in by the beach, and this restaurant was great. We don’t speak spanish and the owner of the restaurant (i assume) immediately helped us out. We ordered a steak and the grilled calamari and both were perfectly cooked. The food was delicious and the vibes were great. Not to mention how friendly both of the staff were. Highly recommend!

This restaurant was by far one of the best things on our holiday in Spain. We travelled here for tattoos and decided to try for dinner as my partner is German... It was insanly awesome. The waitress was funny, kind and very very well organised. The owner came to say hello and he was lovley, asked how we wanted our meat and the staff always made sure we were happy! Very nice place. The guy is Spanish but grew up in Germany and speaks great English. The menue is, in a sense, German food Spanish style. Plates are designed lovely and of course they also have some typical Spanish options. The place is of course also great just for a coffee or cappuccino or a cold beer.

Restaurante Leonardo's is a family-friendly eatery located in Puerto Mazarron that serves delectable Italian cuisine. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including lasagne, pizza, entrecote (steak), and delightful desserts like tiramisu and apple strudel. The food is top-notch with excellent flavors and quality ingredients, receiving a perfect rating of 5/5. Additionally, the restaurant accommodates gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions.
This Italian restsurant has got to be one of the best that I have eaten in. The staff are fantastic and are extremely welcoming and attentive. The food is delicious and the servings are very generous. For starter I had carpaccio de bresaola.and then had the calzone for my main and it was cooked to order as I requested pepperoni in it. It was a huge calzone that I just about finished off. My other half had bruscetta for a starter and tagliatelle funghi for her main. The Sicilian red wine was fantasic so I had 2 large glasses to wash my meal down. So 2 starters, 2 mains, 3 large lagers and 2 large glasses of red wine for €60. Well worth the money for the quality and quantity of food and drink. Thank you so much for the fantastic meal. This place is ...molto molto bene No wonder the reviews are glowing for Leonardos. 5 star service, 5 star food.

The marina is a little jem great seating out and relaxing in the sunlight. I love the place a very traditional Spanish seaside resort.

A really lovely beach (and it was quiet when we went during the week). The sea is very calm and very shallow to begin with so good for kids. There is a sweet small park, a public toilet, space to park and restaurants and cafes too.

The Sagrado Corazón de Jesús tourist attraction offers a remarkable vantage point with breathtaking vistas of the horizon. While not the most scenic route to reach it, the walk is still worthwhile just for the accomplishment. Erected in 1948, this site holds nostalgic significance for many visitors. The captivating views encompass the charming town, stunning beaches, and majestic mountains. Convenient parking options are available nearby or a short and effortless stroll from town.
If you want an easy walk, park close to the statue along the side street where there is parking below. Otherwise park near the beach and take the steeper and longer route up. Beautiful statue and superb views of the coast. Plan to walk either way and the Port (Marina) is in one direction and in the other, beaches and more restaurants.

The Phoenician Ship Interpretative Museum is a hidden gem that offers a pleasant surprise to visitors. It provides extensive information about the Phoenician history of the area and showcases two shipwrecks found on the coast of Puerto de Mazarron. The friendly staff adds to the experience, although there are some suggestions for improvement such as providing maps and explanations of other attractions in Mazarron. Despite this, it remains a cultural oasis worth exploring.
Small but interesting exhibition, well worth 10 minutes. I recommend visiting the Cartagena Museum of Underwater Archaeology for a more expansive exhibition.

Awful experience. Crowds of people, no one observing social distance. No showers, no toilets, not even trash bins. So you can only imagine tons of trash in the sand, smell of urine. I observed feaces on the beachnow and then. DO NOT GO THERE. Or you'll risk being sick.

Beautiful spot but don’t expect to find any facilities. I have seen lots of caravans and tents in the area. People using this beach SHOULD be more sensible and carefully, taking their rubbish home and not hiding in the sand. I enjoyed this place, specially the rocks (climbing them on bare feet was a real therapy) and the beautiful sunset. If we want a place to look nice, we should care when we use it. Enjoy and let’s care.

They have tapas, super tapas, menú de tapas, daily menu, kids menu...it's hard to choose not because they have loads of dishes but because it seems that the team took their time planning the menus. Definitely worth the detour if you are in Cartagena or La Azohia.

The restaurant offers a unique experience where patrons can personally select fresh fish from the counter to be expertly prepared. Visitors rave about the exceptional service and delectable meals, such as the grilled octopus with cream of baby potatoes and the exquisite John Dory fish.
Javi is an absolute legend! One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. My family and I came here for lunch and were treated to the most incredible service, meal and aperitifs. I had the fresh octopus which is grilled on the barbecue and served with cream of baby potatoes. My mother had John Dory fish - which was absolutely fantastic in both taste and presentation. My father had the T-Bone steak and that was phenomenal too. We finished with two beautiful liqueurs - a boozy, beautiful lunch! Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. Thank you to Javi and the team - the most generous and amazing staff I’ve ever encountered working at a restaurant.

Service and cuisine were amazing. I loved having a hot plate to get my steak to how i like it. Stopped for lunch by chance. What a lovely restaurant, service and food . I had the marinated sardines followed by monkfish , vegetables and potatoes, chocolate cake and coffee. It all tasted delicious. Hubby had the grilled sardines and the marinated chicken with potatoes and veg, mango ice-cream and coffee. Wine, cola and water. I couldn’t fault it. The owner offered us two , I think they were liqueurs, one for digestion and a lemon one, I liked the digestion one…. Very full, very lovely. They have inside and outside seating with comfortable chairs and linen tablecloths and napkins. Would go again for a special treat. They also played really nice music. What’s not to like.

Very friendly chef that helped us with translation from the Spanish menu to English ( still not our native language but helpful ! ) All food was delicious. The first time scallops, razor fish, turbot and black tagliatelle full with seefood. This time oysters, scallops, artichoke with foie, thereafter monkfish. Great !

Awful, stuck up little restaurant within the harbour area. Went today for lunch as a family, however the rude and curt small man who works there initially turned his nose up at us we went to ask for a table. Having then looked each of us up and down he proceeded to point us towards a table at the far end where no one else was sat! We then declined and went elsewhere based on his attitude which was bad. Therefore I am unable to comment on the food but I would rather spend my money elsewhere. Perhaps the ‘waiter’ should not judge his customers, this is not a Michelin star restaurant.
