Points of Interest & Landmarks
Beaumaris Castle, located in the picturesque town of Beaumaris in Anglesey, is a 13th-century architectural marvel built by King Edward I as part of his Iron Ring of fortresses to establish English rule in Wales. Despite being unfinished due to resource shortages, it remains remarkably well-preserved and is a popular tourist attraction. The castle's construction began in 1295 and continued for centuries with additions and involvement in historic battles like the English Civil War.
This is a must see for anyone who likes castles! One of the best examples of an abandoned castle that is near complete. It was actually never finished but is nearly intact with most of it still there. There is an entrance fee but it's well worth it. You can walk the outer walls and interior with an amazing chapel, still with stain glass windows!

Beautiful castle in a lovely little village, parking is right next door and cheap. There's a great chippy right close by in the village and some nice shops close too. There's a small gift shop for the castle and they show an educational film about the castle inside the grounds. Plenty of great photo opportunities and a great visit if you have a couple hours to kill.

Visited on Saturday, 06th September 2025, Beaumaris on the island of Anglesey is famous as the greatest castle never built. It was small but had many interesting features. No parking on site, and the nearest parking is on the river/straight front and costs £7 whether you stay for 5 mins or all day. Reasonable entry charge and straight away you're presented with a stunning aspect on the outside of the moat. You then enter the castle through a beautiful drawbridge. Once inside, there are options to walk the ramparts or, in a unique aspect from my experience, an inner walkway. Both walks provide unique perspectives to view the inner and outer castle walls as well as the fighting points available when the castle was operational. No great guidance once inside, but a nice little shop on exit.
Jeffrey S — Google review
It was an interesting place to visit. The castle that was never finished. It should have been the most amazing construction for Edward I but the financial situation did not allow it. The only part of the castle that has windows is the chapel and they are pretty amazing. They are dog friendly but they are only allowed on the ground floor of the castle. The ticket price is acceptable.

I really enjoyed my visit to Beaumaris Castle. Even though it was never fully completed, it’s still an impressive and beautifully designed fortress. The symmetry and scale are striking, and learning about its history—from Edward I’s ambitions to the challenges that halted its construction—made the experience even more interesting. The peaceful surroundings and views added to the charm. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Anglesey!
Lee C — Google review
A lovely castle ruins. There's a video on loop giving you the story of the castle that was never finished. A really interesting back story about the castle. You're able to explore the castle walls and lovely views of the town and sea. We took my parents and my dad has a mobility scooter and the grounds were really accessible. And a lovely shop on site to get gifts, memorabilia or Welsh themed items. Highly recommend 👌
Tom J — Google review
4/9/25: The castle is of considerable size and with lots of areas and internal passages to explore and with good views to be had across Biwmares and Eryri on the upper levels. Dogs are allowed in on short leads and must stay on the lower levels which send to be standard practice. There are lots of smaller side rooms dotted about and inside the perimeter walls with numerous stair cases that you can amble along which will give a sense of the internal architecture and the accommodation that was available at that time. There is a fair bit of grassed areas between the outer and inner sections of the castle along with occasional seating here and there, so, on a warm sunny day a pleasant picnic could be had.
Mal J — Google review
Perhaps my favourite castle I've visited. There are plenty of areas where you can walk inside the castle to see how the rooms would have been and on one side you get to a chapel room with amazing acoustics. We were lucky there were reenactments going on which gave us insights into different aspects of castle life including Archery, music and horses. Plenty of parking nearby and a small gift shop.

Seacoast Safaris - Puffin Island Boat Trips

Boat tour agency
Embark on an adventure with Seacoast Safaris - Puffin Island Boat Trips from Beaumaris Pier, where you'll have the opportunity to witness nature and wildlife in their natural habitat. Keep an eye out for adorable puffins, majestic grey seals, and playful dolphins during the 75-minute trip. As you cruise along the Menai Strait under the iconic bridges, your guide will provide insightful commentary about the surrounding area.
This was AWESOME!!! We visited on a Sunday, and had booked the Menai Straight & Puffin Island cruise and our guide was incredible (I think his name was Jake or Jacob - sorry for forgetting). He was super knowledgeable on the surrounding areas, entertaining (because I really enjoy bad/silly jokes 😝) and he made the whole experience great! When on these type of exertions, people expect to see wildlife on their terms.. Puffins are shy little birds who don’t live by our rules. We were lucky enough to see some swimming next to the island. I didn’t get great pictures of them on my Nikon, but we saw them and they’re adorable! If you book this tour, go for the whole experience and enjoy it! Also.. you may get a little splash if the water is choppy 😉

Seacoast Safaris - Puffin Island Boat Trips Review Had a fantastic trip with Seacoast Safaris! Although we didn’t spot any puffins this time (which is always a possibility with wildlife), the experience was still wonderful. The weather was great, and the boat was comfortable and well-kept. The staff were friendly, helpful, and even offered coats to anyone who needed them—a thoughtful touch that made the journey even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone looking to explore the area by sea!

I’ve been on the Puffin Island boat tour a few times over the last few years and have enjoyed it every single time! It’s easy to book online, reasonably priced, and always a great experience. The crew are friendly and knowledgeable, pointing out wildlife along the way — from seabirds to seals. Make sure you bring your camera, as there are plenty of photo opportunities! Whatever time of year you go, wrap up warm — it can get chilly out on the water. It’s a fun and memorable activity for all ages, and dogs are welcome on board too, which is a big plus. Highly recommend if you’re visiting the area!

Coming to Beaumaris this has to be on your bucket list. What an amazing experience feel the wind through your hair with this adrenaline fueled adventure. £35 per Adult that is worth every penny. Ben our Top gun Pilot / Skipper was brilliant. Articulate, funny and extremely knowledgeable. Lewis and Aaron is at the top of the pier who arranged our trip so a massive thankyou to them for fitting us on at short notice. As Seacoast Safaris were that busy we couldn't do Puffin Island so we jumped on to the Menai straight tour. Booking on line would be advised to guarantee your tour and time slot as they are really busy. Upon being issued your life vest your guided down to the mooring at the top of the pier where you will meet your pilot / Skipper but before your off there's a indepth safety brief. Upon boarding there's a quick run through on points of contact and storage for belongings. Then your ready as they said on TOP GUN !! DO YOU FEEL NEED !! THE NEED FOR SPEED !! Well you've come to the right place. This tour was exhilarating we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. As you fly down the Menai at speed there's short stops to get your breath back and learn a little about the sights you are passing. From the Menai bridge, Britannia bridge, Bangor pier and the million pound mansions located along shore. One big thankyou to BEN, LEWI and AARON that made our visit so memorable we will definitely be coming back to Seacoast Safaris to do Puffin Island in the near future. This was and amazing experience that will last in your memories for a life time.

Great tour - we really enjoyed ourselves. Nice calm conditions and a very stable vessel meant no sea sickness despite a substantial breakfast! The modern vessel was very clean & tidy with no engine fumes plus strong eco-credentials using biofuels & carbon off-setting which is excellent. We saw lots of interesting wildlife around Puffin Island including seals and the guide was very knowledgeable and engaging, answering all our questions. Travelling under the bridges and along the Menai Straight we got a completely different perspective especially of the immense tidal energy, plus a good look at some interesting waterside properties - take your binoculars! We would highly recommend the Seacoast Safaris full 2hr tour if you’re visiting the Beaumaris area and this is certainly the only type of ‘cruise’ I’d consider going on! 🦭
Lennie W — Google review
Brilliant customer service and fantastic local knowledge. The first boat trip we were on didn’t get started due to an engine failure. Our young children were visibly disappointed and the lady running the trip held us aside and managed to find the last few spaces on the next boat, as there was very limited availability to rebook due to the popularity of the trips! (Everybody else, who weren’t quite so fortunate, were asked to return to the kiosk to receive refunds, so no messing around there.) Once on the next boat the trip out to Puffin Island was so much fun. We saw cormorants, shags, lots of different gulls, and the true highlight was a seal and the last puffins of the season. The ladies running the trip were knowledgeable about the island and the local area and shared the importance of the island being a protected location. Would definitely book on again. Thank you Seacoast Safaris!
Laura B — Google review
Brilliant boat trip to Puffin Island - Highly recommended 👍 Booked this boat trip for my Dad's 70th birthday and we all really enjoyed it, unfortunately the Puffins had migrated but we were aware of this before we booked and there were plenty of other birds and a couple of seals. Eleanor curated the trip and her knowledge and experience was first class and she was very helpful and friendly which really added to our enjoyment of the boat trip, Thank you.
David F — Google review
Our tour guide was cheery and informative. I definitely learned some new things. The seals were great. I know they can’t control the puffins but it was disappointing to only see one during peak season. Booking and check in friendly and straightforward. The tour was about the right length for me - I got off before the sea sickness set in. Be aware that you will most likely be outdoors so take sun hats or raincoats depending on the weather!

This was a stand out place in Beaumaris. Lovely interior, and dog friendly, too. The food was fantastic. We ordered a burger and loaded fries -- the sauces were clearly homemade, and rich and tasty. The coleslaw was also homemade, with subtle flavour rather than overpowering onion. The burger had the most delicious smoked bacon and I can't stop thinking about it - will definitely be back. Highly recommended if you want food cooked from scratch rather than something thrown together.
Bequita — Google review
For the price, I would like to be asked how my eggs are cooked and the choice of toast! The quality of the ingredients was good although one hard bacon and one soft Hash brown was lush! But at the best part of 15£ for a breakfast I would expect quality sauce not cheap fruity ones!!

Fantastic sea front cafe in Beaumaris. Food was top notch. Great value and very tasty. Family tried lots of different dishes over few and enjoyed them all. The Fish Pie is highly recommended.
Phil S — Google review
An exceptional cafe! We had a collection of wonderful dishes for breakfast that day. We started with a variety of fried, scrambled as well as pushed eggs, which were served with bunch of various delicious sides such as beans, baby tomato and Spinach, that all in all enriches the meal and valuable, no doubt. Enjoyed their coffee prepared with milk and special tea with a light dessert to conclude the narrative. Absolutely a wonderful atmosphere, which is further enhanced by the splendour of the distinguished and kind staff. Well done!
Hani S — Google review
I had a toasted teacake, which cost £4.50!!, this arrived approx 10 mins before a cup of coffee and my wife had a cup of tea. Total cost £12.50!! During the 20 minutes we sat in the cafe, we witnessed over 10 people asking where their food / drinks were, requesting some level of basic service or complaining. This business is very poorly managed and offers extortionately expensive mediocre products combined with a very poor level of service. Avoid at all costs and maybe they will revisit their opportunistic profiteering practices and treat customers with less complacency and a little more respect.
Andrew O — Google review
Really nice place but let down by the food. It came out quickly, but too quickly - the chowder had obviously been sitting waiting under a hot lamp. There was a skin on it and when I opened the butter pack for the bread it was just liquid and went everywhere. The chowder was bland and had no prawns
Jodie T — Google review
The last time I visited Anglesey and The Pier Hotel was 2019. The gorgeous Welsh Rarebit was then £6. Still pricey but worth it. This time, it was basically a melted bit of cheese on dry focaccia and cost £12.50. As I had ordered this for myself and my Dad, plus 2 lattes, I ended up with a bill for £34!!!!!! Vastly overpriced. Constant warnings to mind the seagulls didn't nick our food and seats crammed too close together. I heard customers on the seats at the front, complain chairs were too low for comfort and one left without ordering. Sadly, I would not recommend this venue.

A great spot for watching the bay over Beaumaris - right by the Ferris Wheel and has great views even on a rainy day. Service was quickly and friendly. I had a nice big portion of chips and kids had fish and chips and a huge slice of cake. Great experience.

Beaumaris Gaol and Court, built in 1829, served as the main jail for Anglesey during the 19th century. It is now open to visitors, offering a glimpse into the harsh realities of the Victorian punishment system. The gaol features prisoner cells, original artifacts such as a tread wheel, a whipping room, and areas where prisoners were put to work. Visitors can also see the condemned cell where death row inmates were housed.
I’m so glad I came here, even though the information online was so sparse that I almost didn’t bother. The gaol is huge and fascinating, full of information as well as fun and engaging details targeted at younger visitors. The courthouse (located a few minutes away from the gaol) is a smaller attraction with less to see but still worth a visit, especially as the two sites share an optional combined ticket with a small saving compared to buying the two separately. The exhibits in the gaol include all variety of the former cells, kitchen facilities, governor’s quarters, as well as the rooms used for corporal punishment, religious instruction, teaching and the chapel. I can’t even recall everything I saw in order to list it, just take my word that it’s well worth it, and that you shouldn’t let the plain facade of the building mislead you into thinking it will be an uninspiring visit.
Daniel H — Google review
The jail is worth going to. The lady on the reception knowledgeable, friendly and chatty, the gentleman that gives a talk before you make your way around is very knowledgeable and helpful. Genuinely a very nice gentleman and interesting too. You'll see when you go. The courts are okay. Doesn't take too long to walk around. Obviously longer if you read everything. Definitely worth paying for a duo ticket. But be aware there are some steep steps
Tina G — Google review
Great place to visit with the family in Beaumaris. It's very original and interesting to learn some of the local history. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit. You can buy a joint ticket which includes the court house opposite the castle.
Gareth P — Google review
Really interesting place. Great information plaques giving the history of the gaol, the police force, and crime and punishment (stealing a sheep: life in prison). Some good exhibits in the cells and governors rooms. We had a really good time.
The T — Google review
Visited the Gaol on a showery day to keep us entertained for an hour. The Gaol offered a lot more than we expected with plenty of insight into the prisoners experiences and crimes. Spent longer than we expected we would touring the place and the kids loved in. Popped into the court afterwards for a look at that too. That doesn't take as long to look around but is worth a quick look in if you have the entry as part of the Gaol ticket.
Robert B — Google review
This is a must visit! A place rich with history, and filled with information for all ages. The trail for young children was good. Looking around was very interesting.
Georgia T — Google review
Very good morning spent here. The staff are really friendly and the place was decorated for Halloween with the kids allowed in free. The lock master was full of great history and had a really passion for the place and local histiry. Lots of interesting facts and things to see. Some great etymology on the sayings 'screw' and 'money for old rope' I would go and visit yourselves
Michael A — Google review
This was an interesting place; really glad I visited here! There was lots of interesting information - lots of reading so may not be great for kids. The cells felt very stark and imposing. I’m not sure the mannequins added much personally. The staff were really great (and so cheery given the depressing institution itself). The manacles, the doors, the cells were all very stark and very imposing - amazing to think how hard life was 150 yr ago. But then we came to the treadmill (possibly the only one still in-situ) and the door to the gibbet and things got even more shocking. The actual door to the hang-man’ noose that people have walked through to their death - shocking!

Menai Suspension Bridge, built by Thomas Telford in 1826, is a historic road crossing with a pedestrian walkway that offers stunning views of the Menai Strait. Before the construction of the Expressway, it was the only route to access Anglesey by road. The bridge's impressive architecture and its significance as the first major suspension bridge of its kind make it a must-see attraction.
Beautiful views. Make sure you walk over the pedestrian path to see up the Menai Straits towards Beaumaris and down towards Plas Newydd. Look out for Church Island and the Druid stones. You can spot Heron, Swans and Seals if you're lucky.

Went for a walk and saw this beautiful looking bridge with spectacular views especially on a day with good weather. Will definitely be coming back here when I visit North Wales again. If you’re passing by, highly recommend stopping by and appreciating the views.

A beautiful bridge connecting Anglesey with the Wales mainland. Lots of walks around it base alongside the Menai Straits on both sides. Treat yourself to a rib ride under it!
Lois C — Google review
The views from this bridge are gorgeous and it's a brilliant bridge all on its own. Pity about the roadworks (July 2025) as we queued for around 20 minutes. The walk across would be even better. Worth a detour if you are in the area.

My favourite bridge, built bt Thomas Telford. I love the bottle green colour of the sea here and the whirlpools when the tide is high and the sun is out. Looks such a dangerous place to have built such a structure, truly incredible.

When you find yourself in the charming town of Beaumaris, indulging in Fish and Chips is a must, and Neptune Bistro is the place to do it. This popular eatery often has a line out the door, a testament to its reputation for serving up light, crispy fish with an impeccable golden coating alongside perfectly cooked fries. After exploring the quaint streets of Beaumaris, I decided to unwind at Cafe Neptune's bistro upstairs.
Best fish and chips I’ve had in years! Place was spotlessly clean and staff super friendly! Fish and chips were massive and piping hot! Will definitely be back!!! Top it all off ate it on the beach! Rounded off a brilliant day, thank you Neptune!!
Lisa H — Google review
Fantastic food, good portion size, piping hot and very tasty. Probably the best fish and chips i have ever had. We ate in and everywhere was clean and tidy. The staff were extremely friendly and service was quick. We ordered 2 adults fish and chips, 1 kids fish and chips, 2 pots of curry sauce, fruit shoot, can of beer and a latte. Total cost £47 which in my opinion is fair price for fish and chips at the seaside.
Rachel H — Google review
When I first walked in here I thought the fish and chips where going to be amazing with the resrestaurant being so clean. How the food let this place down the chips where over cooked and the fish was okay, but not worth the money. The sausages where the best we ordered. All in all we will not be coming to this over price chippy again.
Paul C — Google review
Husband and I on holiday. Husband ordered and collected so I don't know price, but the best battered fish in a long while. Fish was moist and fell apart. Batter was crisp and crunchy all over. Not a hint of soggyness. Chips were lovely. Excellent birthday supper
Miranda C — Google review
Absolutely delicious. We had two portions of cod and chips and everything was perfectly cooked - chips were excellent and fish could not have been cooked better. Lovely atmosphere with families eating with children and staff naturally friendly. My first review of the Neptune despite many previous visits. Don't understand some of the reviews the Neptune has received - there is actually another chippy on the same street and anyone that expects fish and chips to be an especially cheap option these days needs a reality check - maybe try reading the prices on the menu board first? Just a thought.
Michael B — Google review
Not eaten at this chippy before, but have to say that they are probably the best chips I've had in a long time. The establishment is clean and decorated nicely and the staff are friendly. The food arrived exactly as ordered and in a timely manner. The food was cooked perfectly and the chips and fish were not greasy or oily and were full of flavour. Shame I don't live closer or I'd be there more often.

Freshly cooked fish and chips. Hot. Nice curry sauce too. Ate in from take away cartons(eco friendly ones). Quite full but not noisy. Staff friendly and cleaned tables as people finished.
Paula L — Google review
These were the nicest fish n'chips I've had in a long while, real chips made from fresh potatoes, fresh cod and the batter was well cooked and crispy and they weren't at all greasy. They're not the cheapest but we'll worth the money, Thank you.

Wonderful 3 night stay at the end of Sept this year and last year. Really love the Victorian character of this grand old hotel. Beautiful location. Large comfortable room this year with stunning view of the coast & mountains. Staff very friendly & attentive. Great breakfast, vast menu choices and quick service. Special thankyou to Julia, Danielle & Paul on reception. So professional, helpful & friendly. Also Holly & Linda in the restaurant. All very kind, who went above & beyond to make our stay comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Cannot wait to return.

We landed on this by chance, I don’t normally like hotels, just too many bad experiences. If every hotel was like this one, I would happily do more. If you book here, you won’t be disappointed. This is a family run hotel, the owner was around and helpful. The staff wasn’t just helpful, but actually liked their job. Bar staff did a great job, also had a coffee and cake bit. It’s spotless, breakfast was brilliant, staff also again helpful and so friendly at breakfast with lots of choices. Both reception staff, helpful, happy and couldn’t do enough. Room was spotless and had everything you need. Perfect location for everything around, if you have a dog, it’s perfect stay for them too. Thank you so much, for making our stay perfect! We will be back! Lisa, Jay and Betsy the Lab

We have just returned from having spent a wonderful long weekend relaxing at the Bulkeley Hotel. This place oozes character and charm and has to be one of the best ‘dog friendly’ hotels that we have ever stayed at. We stayed is a basic inland room which was more than adequate for our needs, with a large bathroom and lots of storage space. We found all the staff, without exception, helpful and friendly. To top it all off the food was lovely too! We will definitely be coming back!

I spent the penultimate day of my summer holidays here in August 2025. This place is a fantastic place. I hope and plan to return. It would be best to return bringing with me some delectable lady company to enjoy and share this place together. I hope to sample their bedrooms, bar and restaurant again next time. The staff at this hotel are excellent. This place harks back to fabulous historical times, the good old days. Live life in the past as it was meant to be. Fabulous. A new and old favourite. Never been to Beaumaris before - but I would like to come again.

First impressions were promising—a great location and a beautiful building. Unfortunately, things began to unravel the moment we interacted with the staff. Doubts about the hotel’s quality quickly crept in, and by the time we reached our room, any sense of optimism had vanished. The carpet was filthy and ripped, the bathroom had a dented bin lid, there was no toilet brush, and chipped paintwork was just the beginning. Even the lift had incorrectly labelled buttons. At the bar, my girlfriend ordered an Espresso Martini. The barman didn’t know how to make it and, even after being guided by another staff member, still got it wrong. Breakfast service was a mess on both mornings. Guests were waiting over 15 minutes for basic items like tea, coffee, toast, or even fried eggs and bacon. The staff were clearly inexperienced and lacked training—not their fault, but a direct failure of management. I emailed the General Manager twice asking for a response. I received nothing. That silence speaks volumes about his lack of care, passion, or responsibility. But don’t just take my word for it—check in, waste your money, and see for yourself. Maybe now I’ll get a email!

We stayed 29/30 August 25 - will definitely return. Extremely lovely staff in Reception & Restaurant all approachable & so pleasant to talk to. In particular thanks to John undertaking night security who kept checking on me in the early hours when I came down to read a book in the lounge area. So kind. Dinner & breakfast delicious - really enjoyed. Facing the street was a little noisy going to bed but it certainly didn’t stop us have a good sleep as it became very quiet - apart from seagulls of course 🐦 but of course that goes with the sea front location - perfect for wandering.

I have been waiting to take my mom and dad for a while. The hotel didn't’ disappoint. Fabulous service, food superb. Had an inland room which was spotless and comfortable. Only negative was the shower had no power. We are already organising our return trip.

My favourite hotel in Anglesey. Beautiful views with old world charm... we had a 4 poster bed that was so comfy to sleep on. It's right in the middle of the town so you can just step out of the front door and all of Beaumaris is right there... the shops, the cafes and of course the castle. Can't recommend it enough 🥰

Indian restaurant
Sarisa Indian Kitchen is a highly recommended restaurant known for its unique and delicious Indian cuisine. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the portions are generous with reasonable prices. The attentive and friendly service adds to the dining experience. Customers have praised the flavorful lamb samosas, aromatic naan bread, and well-spiced main dishes like garlic chilli lamb and chicken Naga. Despite a quiet atmosphere on some evenings, the food quality remains consistently excellent.
Friendly staff. Clean environment and fantastic food. They offer a mixed chicken and lamb curry which was fabulous. Reasonably priced. Well stocked bar which was also good value. Worth a visit

Great food, so happy we chose this place. We ordered too much and are happy for it. Defo drop in if you're in the busy and crowded town this place is perfect, a quiet street away.

1st time visiting this restaurant and we will definately be back. The food was delicious and the staff pleasant, friendly and very welcoming. Thank you

I ordered the Tandoori Mix Starter at Sarisa Indian Kitchen, and it was absolutely spot on. Each piece from the juicy kebabs to the grilled paneer was bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The smokiness and spice level were just right, showing the chef’s real skill with the tandoor. The dish was beautifully presented too, with a swirl of yoghurt sauce topped with pomegranate seeds and a fresh crunchy salad on the side. It looked like fine dining but still had that rich, authentic Indian taste. You can really tell the chef put care into every detail both in flavour and plating. Friendly staff, clean atmosphere, and proper value for money. Definitely worth visiting if you enjoy well-made, chef-crafted Indian starters with bold flavour and visual appeal.

In Anglesey, the Dockshack is a great spot to start your day with a comfortable stay and a delicious breakfast. You can enjoy the serene morning atmosphere with coffee from the Nespresso machine before heading out for some fish and chips from this popular eatery or other nearby dining options like Neptune Bistro, Mercado, Tredici, The Menai Seafood Company, and Central Bakery.
Stopped by while on holiday today and can't recommend highly enough! Place is fabulously decorated inside, staff were lovely, food cooked fresh and the cod and chips we ordered were absolutely delicious!

Food was incredibly bland. The fish was okay, chips were pretty decent. We got the platter and the scampi were the best out of the bunch. Overall, it tasted super oily which killed the freshness of the produce. Wouldn’t eat here again

We noticed a sign outside saying gluten-free options so decided to drop in for dinner. We were really impressed with the range of gluten free options for the coeliac in our group. We all ordered fish & chips (gf and regular) which was delicious. It was cooked to order for us so the food was hot and fresh. We felt it was very reasonabley priced too. Very happy we stopped there, great food and great for people with allergies

Great food, perfectly cooked. Unique location. Lovely team. Many thanks for a great lunch experience. Had the haddock, onion rings, calamari & chips of course. Yum!

I've been getting fish and chips here for a few years when I visit Beaumaris. In the past it's always been delicious but this evening I ordered lightly battered Haddock x 2 and Whitebait with chips. The Haddock was very thin, dry and overcooked we binned most of it. Whitebait and chips okay. Will try a different establishment next time we visit Beaumaris

Really nice fresh fish. They do gluten free options aswell.

Pleasant enough but not great. Given so many choices to eat in Beaumaris; I regret this one. If the patrons were to read and respond to the reviews (which I notice they don’t) I would say; Save the loud music for the evening crowd Put rice in the salt to absorb the moisture - none of them worked Thicken up your batter recipe.

Nature & Parks
Nestled along the serene banks of the Menai Strait, Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens is a captivating historic estate that invites visitors to explore its three distinct and beautifully restored gardens. Once lost to time during much of the 20th century, this enchanting location was originally a private retreat for the Price family. Today, it boasts an array of features including mesmerizing waterfalls, walled gardens with unique curving walls and tranquil pools, as well as secret valleys adorned with lush greenery.
Lovely gardens to visit. Some areas good mobility is needed. Quite steep steps and slopes in places. Well worth a visit. We were there for 2 hours which was plenty of time to see whole site.
Jane H — Google review
Absolutely the best gardens I have ever seen, it's like going into another world. The cafe is lovely and some lovely plants for sale too. I would highly recommend a visit here, we didn't want to leave.
Serafina — Google review
Plas Cadnant is a beautiful place to visit. As soon as you walk in through the gates, you're hit with the impressive view down the lawn, with it's pyramid topiary taking your eye down to the pond and the woodland below. The upper gardens have beds of hot colours in the summer. The lower woodland garden has meandering paths that allow you to explore the many wonderful plants, trees and other interesting features. A river runs through the valley, forming beautiful pools and waterfalls. Tours of the garden are run frequently by the head gardener and you get to see areas not usually open to the public. The café's conservatory has nice views over the garden. Pleasant outdoor seating is also available. It serves light lunches and their cakes are also recommended. One word of warning though... the silver teapots can be extremely hot! Wrap a napkin around the handle to pick them up safely. You'll often see the friendly owner of the garden helping out in the café or welcoming people outside. He's great to chat to if you have any horticultural questions. Accommodation in a number of on-site cottages is also available. As someone that visits frequently, I definitely recommend a visit.

We have been coming to Anglesey for many years now but for many reasons we have never been here before. But we were just utterly amazed by this place. The gardens were stunning and the work that went into these was just simply amazing. Cafe was nice we just had a cuppa. Will definitely be back.
Dez H — Google review
Highly recommend for a peaceful moment out. The walk doesn't take long, but there are lots of benches around the garden to sit and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. The variety of hydrangeas was stunning as were the plants and trees.
Michelle V — Google review
We visited here on Tuesday, such a beautiful garden, plenty of seating to sit and take in the peaceful setting… Had a light lunch before we walked the gardens, great service, lovely food and plenty of seating with views over the garden or outside in the courtyard… Highly recommend a visit

Experience the thrill of high-speed rides on a RIB boat with RibRide, located just 4.5 miles from the B&B. They offer various boat trips, including the fastest Rib ride on the Menai Strait, tours to see puffins and seals at Puffin Island, and visits to landmarks like Menai Bridge, Caernarfon Castle, Llanddwyn Island, South Stack, and Gogarth.
We attended a trip to puffin island and everything was fab! The staff in the shop/office were so so lovely and friendly, as were the skippers. Who were not only knowledgeable and struck the right mix of education and adrenaline based fun but also were really attentive. The health and safety protocols were spot on, they checked everyone was happy and confident throughout and even gave me a jacket to ensure I stayed warm. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had an amazing trip out to Puffin Island today. Chris was such a nice guy and a superb skipper who kept us entertained with his boat skills. Really enjoyed hearing about the history of things along the way too. Fascinating stories from the past. The weather was good: some sun and then wind and rain which made for a thrilling run eastwards and then a rollercoaster ride back home with big waves. It’s a brilliant set up; chilled and worthwhile. I’ll be back with the children for sure. Cheers RibRide!
James J — Google review
Absolutely fantastic. Chris our skipper was polite, knowledgeable and great fun. What a fabulous trip it was. Will definitely go again and recommend for adults and children. It was such fun, get it booked it’s a great price too at £25.

Chose to do the Puffin Island tour with Ribride, due to their location near Menai Bridge rather than from Beaumaris, as it was close and convenient. Tour was a blast. Good commentary, great views from either side of the boat, amazing scenery, and we saw some late season Puffins and seals. Even if we hadn’t it would have still been a great trip. Lots of time to take photos. Be aware the boat moved pretty fast so be careful with hats and glasses. They provide ponchos to keep warm.
Antony C — Google review
We had a weekend away nearby and as one final activity before we left we booked on the Menai Straight adventure. We have left the boat ride wanting to do more rib rides and to see alot more of Anglesey. The captain was Ollie who was absolutely brilliant. He was funny and witty but excellent at his roles of piloting us about and being a tour guide whilst keeping us all safe. We had a great tour up and down the Menai Straight seeing all the main sites and a little speed boat manoeuvres to finish up! Absolutely worth the price l! The office staff were lovely and friendly when checking in and complementary use waterproofs are available if you wish (we used them, they were clean and excellent at keeping us dry and the wind out of our souls ) If you are looking for a different perspective on the south shore of Anglesey and the Menai Straight, go see the folks at RibRide!
Adam W — Google review
We went on the rib ride 25.08.25. It was great. The safety brief was thorough. We were informed of what to expect along the way. We were lucky to have great weather which made it even better to see the sites of Anglesey from the water. All staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend

What a fantastic experience we had, excitement from the word go. A bit of everything today, flat water and the fuller swells. We got a little wet but expected it, absolutely brilliant afternoon going up to Caernarfon castle and back. Will be back next year, thank you to Jez our pilot and the rib ride team
Mark J — Google review
An absolutely fantastic experience on the rib ride. We've been on the Swellies and Caernarfon Castle trips and loved them both. Proper waterproof jacket and trousers provided and felt very safe on the boat. Our Pilot was very friendly and had lots of interesting information about the trip and the boat, I liked the Yamaha V6 engine 😀 A must do trip, highly recommended 👍

Shopping
M Jones a'i Fab Antiques is a charming shop nestled in a picturesque seaside town, boasting an inviting exterior and an interior that resembles a museum filled with fascinating curiosities and historical furniture. Visitors often find themselves captivated by the extensive collection of antiques, particularly kitchenalia, which showcases the rich history behind each piece. While some have noted a sense of watchfulness from the owner during their visit, many patrons appreciate her knowledge and willingness to share stories about various items.
This is a fantastic little shop. My wife and I have only recently started appreciating antiques. We were the only ones in the shop and the lady owner was very polite and chatting to us and explained about the origins of the picture I brought. Lots of interesting kitchen and furniture items. Will definitely return if in the area again.
Ben W — Google review
Unnecessarily curt and dismissive! 35 years in the antiques trade does not give this shop the privilege to judge potential customers on their intent or ability to make a purchase. I was reprimanded for a mere brush of my hand on a dresser and advised I'd be better off visiting a National Trust property. In the words of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman "big mistake.... huge!". Awful experience.
Leeds L — Google review
This shop is in a lovely location, has a beautiful exterior and inside is arranged in a museum style. It is well packed with curiosities, furniture and history. The only problem I had was the hostility in the air, the owner watched our every move and didn't greet us or say anything which I found strange. Nonetheless it is a lovely shop with beautiful antiques in a gorgeous seaside town.
Helena P — Google review
A stunning array of antiques in a proper antique shop of old. Independently run. A mixture of kitchenalia, Welsh antiques, high quality wooden furniture and decorative pieces. Absolutely well worth a visit when on Anglesey !
Dr H — Google review
I really do not know why the previous review was written other than the fact I refused to sell this person one of my collection of early violins. the problem with some people seems to be if you know more than them, they have to write bad reviews about you,(something we have learnt in the past 35 years in the trade) We would not be rude enough to tell people the amount this person offered for a victorian violin byW.E. Hill of London, but i am pretty sure if he offered that amount to other dealers, they would be a lot ruder. Non rude violin "experts" are most welcome in our shop.
Merfyn J — Google review
Unnecessarily rude. Wouldn’t make a purchase based on owner attitude alone.

A wonderful treasure trove of antiques particularly kitchenalia. We really enjoyed our visit. The owner was very helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. We purchased two antique Staffordshire chickens, Hovis tins and more and are delighted with our purchases. We look forward to our next visit.

The staff were very busy but still had time to see you were happy. Ensured we were happy with our selection. The food was utterly delicious and presented well. Best Tapas we’ve had anywhere. Only visiting the area but would highly recommend it, will go back when we visit again. The chef gave us a wrong dish but I said it was lovely and they gave us our original dish for free. How good was that!
Virginia S — Google review
I'm sorry to say, this was a big disappointment. Food portions on the whole are very small. Some items like the bread and patatas were very generous but others were barely a bite. Ordered patas bravas, it didn't come. Asked one of the waiters, was told it was coming. 20 minutes later, told it was missing from the bill, asked if we still wanted it. Another 15 minutes go by... At this point we are well passed eating all our other items. Asked them to cancel it so we could get the bill, then then still tried to charge us for it! The staff were very nice and the place is lovely and clean. It's just a shame it's overpriced and there were not enough staff to manage, leading to errors and poor communication.
Nathan W — Google review
We had a brilliant meal at The Midland Tapas and Wine Bar last night. The food was genuinely excellent - some of the best tapas we’ve had outside of Mallorca, and that’s saying something! Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Our waitress, Mia, was also fantastic - friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. A bonus: it’s dog friendly too, which made the experience even better for us. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality tapas in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Carlos S — Google review
We arrived for our table 10 minutes early. The table wasn’t ready (understandably) and instead of suggesting we grab a drink at the bar, the waitress told us to come back later. The food was absolutely awful. We had the chorizo with fries and egg. The eggs were dreadful, and the chorizo was pale and cold. The croquettes were soggy, sat in oil from the fryer, and also cold. Their service was poor at best, and the waitress didn’t check on us during the meal. When I explained that the two dishes were inedible, she took one of them off the bill. I then had to ask for the other to be removed. She then asked how everything was! I said it was awful and she replied with ‘sorry to hear that’ and walked away! The whole experience was terrible! The wine was good though!
Anthony P — Google review
A strange (in a nice way) place. The concept is tapas but they do full size pizzas and other non Spanish type dishes. The food was good our favourite was the Peeking Pig. We don’t get a chance to return but would go back. Is dog friendly

What. A. Place!!! This was one of the nicest collections of small plates I've ever eaten. And I've been to a fair few tapas restaurants in my time. The atmosphere inside was bustling but not loud, the owner was working this night and she was just lovely. Every member of staff had a great attitude, and you could just tell that every customer was having a great time. Match all of this up with the gorgeous and well-priced food, and you can tell why the place was full. I can't wait to go back!

If you haven't explored the churches in old towns, you're missing out. St. Mary's & St. Nicholas Church, built circa 1330, offers a chance to admire its stained glass windows, masonry, carved pews, and plaques and statues within. This well-maintained church with impressive architecture and beautiful interior features glorious stained glass windows and fascinating memorial plaques on walls and floor. The graveyard and memorial garden are also meticulously maintained.
A beautiful Medieval church in the heart of Beaumaris. The architecture is splendid (and multi-period) - the 14th century nave and Chancel (c.1500) are beautiful and there also remnants of 13th and 15th Century sarcophagus’. Well worth stopping off to look at. The streets around Beaumaris are small and retain their Medieval ‘feel’ - so parking likely to be elsewhere.

Central Bakery, located in Beaumaris, has been a beloved establishment since 1892. This traditional bakery is known for its artisan breads, homemade pies, and traditional pasties. Visitors can indulge in cream cakes, homemade sausage rolls, and freshly baked sourdough. The bakery is a hidden gem that's popular among locals and visitors alike. It's recommended to arrive early to get the freshest selection of baked goods or take advantage of bundled deals towards closing time.
Probably the best shop in Beaumaris - this bakery has something for everyone : artisan breads, homemade pies, pasties and old school buns. They even do a bacon butty served on the freshest baps known to mankind. It’s just off the main road so easily missed. Only a stones throw away from the old Beaumaris gaol. As I sit back in my rented cottage feasting on my bakery bounty like a pig rolling in it’s own shyte it cannot be denied that this world is now a better place than that which the forgotten souls of Beaumaris gaol once inhabited.

Came here late in the afternoon the other day as we were in the area and fancied a pasty or pie. Only cold ones left which is fair enough, not their fault we were so late in the day. Baught an egg mayo sandwich instead which was not the best to be honest, just very bland. Baught some cakes for later, I got a Tiffin which was OK and a Salted Caramel slice which tasted off and I had to spit out and throw in the bin. Husband got a lemon tart and a couple of other things which he says were nothing special. Most of the staff were nice but overall our visit was dissapointing considering the great reviews, we had high hopes for the food and were not overly impressed!

Dropped in this cosy period classic pub for a spot of lunch and came away very happy we did. There are plenty of options in Beaumaris, but I would recommend the George & Dragon to you all. First of all you have super welcoming and friendly bar staff. The decor is vintage and cosy. Good option of food on the menu and also a specials board. Prices are reasonable for a tourist town. I had to try the fish & chips as it's my go-to to test the quality of a restaurant. I certainly was not disappointed. A full plate, nice size fish with a lovely light crunchy batter. Plenty of chips and some of the best mushy peas I've had in a very long time. My better half doesn't usually go for a burger, but thoroughly enjoyed hers here. Would like to thank all staff for making our visit a most pleasant and fulfilling experience. Many thanks indeed 😉👍

The medieval style pub has lists history, it makes you feel cozy, warm, relaxed, the food are tasty, the potion of the food are huge, the biggest I have ever seen in UK,I don’t think one people can finish.

Visited for Good Friday lunch, The pub is warm, inviting, friendly and spotlessly clean. The food was outstanding 👌 So fresh and tasty and good beer & cider! Will definitely be visiting again. Well done to the staff 👏

Great little pub. We loved reading about the history of it. My husband got bangers and mash and I got the fish burger. Both were great

Great little pub with excellent food and service! Stopped in for dinner and the food was really tasty and served quickly! For pub grub this is definitely above the normal standard which was a really nice surprise. We had a long day and were tired so weren't really looking forward to eating out but they have plenty of seating over a few rooms so it was nice and quiet and just what we needed for a great price. Highly recommended 👍

Lovely pub and very well decorated. Tried our chances today and went in without a reservation for 4 people for a Sunday Lunch. They managed to accommodated us on a table by the bar. The service was very fast however, whilst waiting for the food and whilst eating the food the staff did nothing but complain to each other about how busy it’s getting and how busy it’s going to be etc. It made us feel uncomfortable and rushed and didn’t give a nice atmosphere. The food was good and plenty of it however the roast potatoes were dry which is nothing in comparison. All in all, not a terrible experience but we would try other places before returning.

Dylan's Menai Bridge is a modern waterfront restaurant offering stunning views of the Menai Strait and the iconic Menai Suspension Bridge. The restaurant specializes in seafood, particularly fresh Welsh mussels prepared with cream and cider. With a boatyard theme that complements its waterside location, Dylan's menu features locally sourced seafood and seasonal produce from the surrounding fields and hills.
Loved this place. Very popular place. Open plan kitchen. Service and decor is nice. Lovely food. Great views overlooking the menai straights. They sell their own delicatessen like sauces and chutneys. Not a cheap place but worth every penny.

Really glad we came here for dinner. Gemma, our waitress was really nice and attentive. She looked after us really well. Rang up the day before hoping for a table of 8 with 2 dogs and they were really nice and were able to accommodate us at such short notice. The mussels are a must! I would highly recommend this place.

Food here was first class- everything was so fresh and we loved the local products used throughout the menu. View was great and service was brilliant too. I will definitely be visiting the other restaurants soon!

Seafood chowder was delicious. Muscle was a must have item. Seafood in general was great. Meat was slightly above average. Service was very good. The restaurant offered a surprise to my son. It’s his birthday night. So sweet!
Francis L — Google review
We sat upstairs and the view is fantastic as was the food. We had the calamari, lamb on hashbrown to start followed by seafood linguine and king prawns. Couldn't fault the food. The only thing I can fault was that we weren't greeted as we entered the restaurant. We had to wait a while until someone spoke to us but apart from that our experience was fantastic. Visit you won't be disappointed.

Had a great meal here with my sister while visiting the area. My sister is allergic to shellfish and the staff were right on top of her menu choices - really great to see. I had the mussels (even though this is a “wrong” month for eating them) and they were divine - I haven’t had anything even close to them in terms of taste since Iived in Normandy. We were really pleased to be given a table in the patio area, which had great views of the water.
Laura J — Google review
Best to book a table online as it’s always really busy. Worth the wait though because the food is delicious and the views are stunning. The outdoor patio area is definitely the best way to capture the panoramic views and smell the salty sea breeze.

Amazing food, beautifully presented but whilst the staff were nice enough, the service was slow and they clearly didn't have enough people on to deal with the amount of walk ins they accepted. Location is fab, terrace has a stunning view (but you will be fighting off sea gulls!) But the staff need a more experienced manager (or one on shift!) to organise them.

Nestled in the heart of Anglesey, The Liverpool Arms Hotel is a delightful 18th-century establishment that exudes charm and warmth. This inviting pub not only welcomes guests but also their four-legged companions, making it a perfect stop for pet owners. The menu boasts an array of homemade dishes, from hearty steak pie to comforting lasagne and flavorful minted lamb, with plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available.
We loved the food at the Liverpool Arms . We tried 2 other places in Beaumaris but they weren't a patch on The Liverpool Arms. We dined there 4 nights out of 7 . We would thoroughly recommend it, the staff were so friendly too. There is a specials board as well as the main menu , the food was absolutely delicious. Well done to the chef.

What a lovely pub & hotel. Called in during a visit to Beaumaris. Plenty choice on the menu for gluten free. A few including dairy free options, but I stuck with the jacket potato and prawns, it was delicious. Lovely helpful staff, and a cozy warm atmosphere. I can't comment on the rooms as it was lunch only.

We went for lunch, when dropping our daughter off at Bangor uni. What a wonderful place. The food was homemade and simply delicious. I had the steak pie, which has huge chunks if succulent steak and loads of gravy. I'd recommend everything though and will be visiting again when we go to collect our daughter. The service was also excellent and the staff very friendly.

Often drop in for lunch when home visiting my parents, our dog is welcome too which is always a plus! Always a friendly welcome, no need to book on quieter days. Great efficient service and delicious food, lots of choice on the menu, food served hot and plenty of it! Always consistently good. Will definitely be back yet again!

Any place that describes its Steak Pie as Famous is living dangerously; I have a high standard for steak pies. That said, their description was entirely justified; it was a magnificent pie, probably the second-best one I've ever had (the best was in North Yorkshire, so they aren't direct competition). There was a lot of it too, so go hungry when you order. Everything else was terrific too. Good beer, friendly and helpful staff, a clean and welcoming place to eat and drink. We liked it so much we went back a few days later. Five stars! (Note: Google maps currently has this on the wrong side of the street and a few doors down from where it actually is.)

We came here for a meal yesterday and the food was amazing. My husband and our friends had the steak and ale pie which came with chunky chips and peas. The pie looked tasty with lots of meat in it. They said it was delicious. I had the cheese burger which came with chunky chips, a pot of coleslaw and a pit of chilli dip. Would definitely recommend the food. The people who run it are lovely and friendly and its such a lovely atmosphere. I'll be booking again.

Such a lovely meal. Would recommend. Burgers were delicious and service was excellent. Food was very filling. Unfortunately they were out of the mac and cheese which I was looking forward to but all in all everything we had was good and tasty

Interior ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The decor was nice and it was a good use of space, divided into sections. The bar was quite a nice feature however we couldn't help notice that the windows were really marked and there were a few issues with tables not been completely clean. Service ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ The guy serving was friendly and he had a lot to do, he was the only person we saw all night so he was dealing with all customers both dine in and take away. There was a bit of a wait on our food and we think that had an impact on our fries. Food ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ So the main attraction was the endless fries however this is no longer offered. The guy said it was due to nutrition however it is my choice surely? If I keep ordering fries then that's on me! However when the food arrived I have to admit I wouldn't be rushing to order more of the fries, generic freezer to fryer fries which needed to be super fresh to be decent, an unfortunately they were starting to cool and go limp when they arrived. Burgers on the other hand. We had a variety including both chicken and beef options and I can confirm they were all really good. Nice and juicy beef and the chicken was soo thick and coating was on point. We also had onion rings and chicken tenders both of which elevated the meal massively so defo get the sides ordered! Price - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ At £20 a head for burger, fries, drink and share of sides is not ridiculous however I would say for the overall experience I was left feeling a little hard done by, probably isn't too bad that it would stop me returning. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Probably a harsh overall score but in the context of expectations vs reality I was left overall disappointed by this meal. Lots of positives but also a number of negatives. If I returned to Anglesea I probably wouldn't rush back to Toms.

First the waiter was really nice. Then the food..great! Mine was «a simple veggie» with mushrooms topping... So good. I don't know if it was the brioche or what. Then the dessert, a toffee cake. Really nice. I also tried the garlic brioche with mozarella, as well i liked it. A great end for the day. If you stop to see Menai bridge, try this place.

Parents plus nearly 3 year old trip to Toms. The pictures you can see are the Benji board (child's) and the Nik Nak burger. Wife ordered a different burger not pictured. The child's portion was a little much. The chicken was in my opinion an adults portion. Quite floury batter and very large chicken. My advice would be to go to Goujons or nuggets for the nippers. A couple that arrived after us ordered 2 of these for their 2 children and they also failed to eat it. If you do decide to go order a garlic bread or something as this thing is a beast. My burger. It was ok. I feel like I let myself down having heard about the reviews and expected a super tasty burger. It was average...the spice was average and came from the 3 chilly slices that were in the cheese. Meat Patty was red which I guess you expect but as you will read in a minute, it gave me something to think about when I saw my wife's cook. Not enjoyable. My wife's burger was undercooked. This was a concern as we were the only 3 people in the building (our family). They explained that the meat will often be cooked red....which I explained that I understood as it's a meat pattie and not a burger but I can assure you it was uncooked and rare. This was backed up by the chef as they were happy to prepare a new one. The positive of this was the helpful server who gave us drinks on the house which was a great gesture based on the undercooked meat. If you don't eat out a great deal or have a lot of experience with beef then this place may intrigue you but my family will not be coming again unfortunately.

Nothing special here folks! Ordered couple of burgers after reading so many 5 star reviews. The burger looked juicy and fresh, but both burgers tasted sweet. I think it was the sauce they used. The sweet sauce didn't help with tasting the meat because it was overpowering. For some reason every sauce we tried in wales tasted sweet. The fries didn't tasted fresh, but more like frozen ones fried. Not sure if ill recommend this place so highly. Use your own discretion.

Lost! Went on a Sunday evening at 7.30. Inside, only a few tables and most of them with already food in their plates. Despite not being busy at all, we waited more than 15minutes for the waitress to take our order and get our drinks but the best was yet to come: after 1hour we decided to ask where our food was and we were told it got lost, they forgot to send it to the kitchen! Utterly disgraceful!!! I mean guys, if you cannot cope with only a few customers dining in, you should probably consider a career change.

Excellent.... Impromptu visit as didn't fancy cooking. Grabbed a table, waiter was very polite and service impeccable. Ordered and food arrived shortly after our drinks. Onion rings were very fresh and crispy as were the chips. Burger was tasty. We would certainly recommend.

Red Boat Beaumaris is a must-visit spot offering delicious gelato in Beaumaris. The place offers a huge selection of deeply flavored specialties, making it the best ice cream spot in town. Visitors can enjoy their ice cream while strolling through the arch opposite to the seafront. Additionally, Red Boat Beaumaris is known for its excellent customer service, especially for accommodating customers with Coeliac Disease by providing gluten-free cones and taking measures to minimize the risk of cross-contamination.
Specialist coffee and excellent ice cream! A real highlight on the high street. Excellent coffee which is hard to come by in Beaumaris. They have over 150 flavours of ice cream too which was fantastic. We saw them making fresh sandwiches too but we didn’t try them. They looked very nice though. Really clean interior and run by people who clearly care.

Fantastic ice cream shop. We had the Raspberry and Lemon, Chocolate Flake, and Sea Buckthorn flavours and they were all delicious so I can only assume that any flavour you get will be awesome as well. You need to go here.
The T — Google review
Visited for an ice cream and then decided on waffle for a change. It was rather delicious. They have lots of flavours and could do with a list as the shop is quite small with an entrance and an exit and some tightly squeezed in seats and tables, which means you haven't seen all the flavours on offer before you order.
Mark F — Google review
Probably the best ice cream for miles, imo. On a busy day folks are queuing down the street but today Beaumaris was unusually quiet (due to bridge closure) and we didn't have a wait to be served. Tasty, creamy and plenty of it (I had a two scoop serving). We've queued in the past because it's worth the wait!

called in today 4th July. Delicious ice cream but I wish they would always have on the Vegan Hazelnut, in my opinion it is the best, however, not very often there. Today I had the raspberry, husband had the strawberry and a pecan one, within moments of leaving the shop we suffered a seagull attach and both were gone, husband was gutted I wasn't bothered but would have fought off the gull for the Hazelnut one. Perhaps next time it will be in stock

Oriel Beaumaris is a charming art gallery located in North Wales, known for its captivating scenery paintings that beautifully capture the power of oceans and mountains. Visitors are welcomed by the talented artist, Ian, who is passionate about his work and generously shares insights into his creations and local places to visit. The gallery showcases an incredible selection of paintings that depict the beauty of their respective locations with meticulous attention to detail.
An incredible selection of paintings all perfectly depicting the places they represented! Clearly a lot of love and care went into every piece and his years of experience really showed through. The artist, Ian, was lovely. Happy to chat and give us recommendations of where to go on our holiday, even stopping to get a map and show us to his recommended beaches! Happy for dogs to come into the gallery as well and said a nice hello to our dog as we talked. We were also told about the commissions, send him a picture you've taken of the beautiful Welsh scenery and get it painted by one of the best artists I've ever seen!

I've been learning how to paint the sea and the sky in oils, across eight weekly two-hour sessions at Ian's studio/gallery in Beaumaris. He's a great teacher - my two paintings are the best I've done yet, and I'm very pleased with them. I'd definitely recommend him and can see myself signing-up for another course soon.

We’re from Melbourne, Australia, and never miss an opportunity to visit Ian’s gallery when we travel to the UK. His work is mesmerising and we get so much enjoyment from the two beautiful paintings (one Angelsey seascape; one Welsh landscape/cloud featured) we’ve purchased from him. Ian is an interesting man who is generous with his time so it’s also special that we’ve got to know him as the artist who created our favourite works of art. Include a visit to Ian’s gallery in your travel plans to Angelsey!

I’m very new to painting, I wasn’t sure what to expect and was very nervous when I went for my first painting lesson which were a present from my wife. From the very first session Ian put me completely at ease. The class is just 2 students and of course, Ian. Ian is such a genuinely kind and encouraging teacher; he explains things clearly and always seems to know how to bring out the best in everyone, no matter their level of experience. The atmosphere in the class is chatty, relaxed and friendly.I thought painting surrounded by Ian’s fabulous sea scapes would be daunting but I find painting there makes it even more special. Each week I come away feeling energised and amazed at how much I’ve learned in such a short space of time. Ian has really helped me build confidence and enjoy the process of painting rather than worrying about getting everything perfect. If you’ve ever thought about giving painting a try, I can’t recommend Ian’s classes enough — they’ve been such a rewarding experience and I intend to book another set of sessions on completing this set; Friday mornings are the highlight of my week, cheers Ian !

Really nice oil paintings, Ian was in the shop and he spent time showing some techniques. I enjoy painting sea landscapes in my free time and I really appreciated that Ian took time to share some advice!! So worth a visit!

Travelling around north wales we came across Ian’s art shop/ gallery myself and my wife we absolutely captivated with Ian’s work and went into his shop for a closer look. Ian was extremely welcoming and was in the middle of painting one of his pieces. He spent a lot of his time chatting with us about his work and local places to visit, a very warm person to come across and chat with. Would highly recommend a visit if you are into scenery paintings that really capture the power of the oceans and mountains. It was an absolute delight to meet him and see his work and we will be asking him to do a piece for us in the future.
Matthew J — Google review
We called in to Oriel Beaumaris and what a treat. It’s not just a gallery but Ian’s studio where he paints. There are some really lovely oil paintings, mostly of local seascapes to admire. Ian takes the time to chat you through them together with explaining some of his techniques in a very relaxed, informal and humble way. There is no pressure whatsoever to buy. A great way to spend some time in Beaumaris whether you are an artist or not. You’ll meet someone with real passion for his craft and a genuine desire to share it and probably have a good chat about various other subjects at the same time! Not to be confused with the gallery next door which was also nice but different.

Food was delicious! (Can tell by the photo, as I was already tucking in before the photo) it’s such a small, cute tea room. This is my second time visiting and the food never disappoints!

Food was very good. There are loads of pictures of good and varied food from here, so for a change I'll review the toilets! Well, they are out in the backyard. His and Hers, clean and well provided for. It would be a bad day at the office if you ran out of paper here (check the pictures). Hand washing is at the station back through the door to the cafe, again clean and plenty of paper hand towels. Job done.

What a fantastic tea room! Felt like we stepped back in time when we entered, was so warm and cosy with a mix match of vintage crockery, can't help but fall in love with the place! Went there for breakfast and had a great vegetarian option which included halloumi and vegetable sausages, such a nice change! Couldn't resist a cake afterwards when we saw the cake list!! Traditional sponge cakes available, plus a variety of unusual flavours. The orange and pistachio sponge cake was to die for as well as the carrot and walnut! 😍 The cake list changes on a regular basis so definitely have to go again!! Staff were fantastic too, Suzanne and Bethan were so friendly and efficient, can't thank them enough! A wonderful experience, highly recommend!

I have never seen so many tea options on one menu! Food was gorgeous, fresh and delivered quickly. Staff were wonderful. Despite the toilets being outside-ish, they were clean, and hand wash just back inside the cafe. Very popular cafe so you’ll probably have to wait for a table at busy times

This is the tea shop that I imagined when we planned our trip to the UK and Wales. It's a quaint little place, in an old historic building, with the friendliest people. It has a wide variety of food. We each ordered something different for breakfast and each of us was happy with it. We got to chat with the lovely owner who gave us the history of the building and made some suggestions about things not to miss in the area.

Such an amazing restaurant! The pasta was delicious, al dente and tasty. The service was quick, friendly and very attentive. They gave our dog a bowl of water which was very kind. There is no service but you can ask for the wifi code and password. The restaurant is comfortable and cosy.

Decent selection but not convinced there’s anything that traditionally Italian here beside the name. Most supermarkets do better pizzas than these are knocking out these days. Way too heavy on the cheese and lite on topping. Suggest a lessons in making traditional pizza making for the staff and reduce prices to hep make them more palatable.

Collection order whilst on holiday in the area. Pizzas burnt, chips good but hardly any. Expensive for poor food
Lynsey C — Google review
A disappointing and expensive experience. Our starters (calamari and garlic bread with cheese) were mediocre at best, they looked and tasted like they'd come from a supermarket. After our starters, we waited around half an hour for the waiting staff, who then asked us if we'd like to see the dessert menu. When we mentioned that we hadn't had our main courses yet, she looked shocked, walked away and reappeared two minutes later with our main courses, which were visibly burnt (see photo). I didn't want to make a fuss, as I had taken my girlfriend out for dinner and our time together is very limited due to our jobs and distance, so we tolerated as much of it as we could. The waiting staff seemed pressured as there were quite a few customers and only one or two of them. When I went to pay the bill, I was very surprised at how expensive (£70+) it was for 2 soft drinks, 2 wines, 2 starters, 2 burnt main courses and 1 side (chips with some parmesan powder on them). Would not recommend.

I think their triangular brownie with M&Ms on top is the best brownie I've ever had. The keralan style spiced vegetable pasty is also absolutely superb.

Our party of 6 enjoyed wonderful food, service and ambiance at this delightful Italian restaurant. All dishes beautifully cooked and presented and tasted great. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed the cosy atmosphere. We will definitely return and highly recommend.

The garden also features a small shop offering planters and local crafts. WOW. A hidden gem that's for sure. Loved the sleeping cat behind the bench. A beautiful and peaceful space to see. This garden, that is so well designed is packed with colour, scents and textures. All of your senses will be buzzing after being here.

By accident we found Castle Gardens hidden away off the main street very close to Beaumaris Castle we followed the lit up hall with a painted beanstalk on the floor which guided us in to a beautiful garden nursery. With a large variety of plants for sale. It was quite magical this hidden garden the lady who served us was really nice we found a great variety of seeds at really good prices. We'll worth a visit really glad we came across this little gem

off the beaten track, but well wort looking for. plenty of plants & flowers to choose from & plenty of garden ornaments although a bit on the pricey side.

If you like floral gardens then this is a must see. Free entry, small but full of beautiful flowers and shrubs. Has some items for sale and a donation box towards its upkeep. Very restricted for wheelchairs and buggies with steps, tight corners and narrow paths.

Lovely shop alongside the life boat station with a very well stocked, reasonably priced shop!

Having been offshore members since 2017 in support of the fantastic work the RNLI does we never dreamt for one minute we would need them ourselves in an emergency. Sept 18th 2021 –close to the Caernarfon Bar, in fading light with sea mist rolling in, we had an electrical failure which took out our main engine and radio then, as we headed back in on our auxiliary motor, it too failed leaving us stranded. We cannot thank enough the crew from RNLI Beaumaris who sped out to our rescue on their Atlantic 85 and towed us back in.

What a fall from grace! Was last here2 years ago and had a brilliant meal! Last night I took my young family there and have never had to complain and leave an establishment, before even been served our main before! Staff are friendly and trying, but are woefully under trained and under staffed! Food quality is very poor for the price point! Hopefully they can sort going forward as it’s a great building in a great spot!

What's more to say, good food, good location, friendly and helpful staff. Hey eating outside can be an issue, seagull problem, but that's normal for these places. In sum we had great food, dogs were welcomed and looked after and a nice little soujorn on our day out.

Right on the main street in Beaumaris and a lot bigger on the inside than you would think from the outside. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Food was very delicious. An okay selection of alcoholic drinks and reasonable priced. Would definitely visit again.

It breaks my heart to say this since I have been coming to The Bull with the family for many years, but it was clear this year that the standards have gone completely downhill. The restaurant manager and food offerings are nowhere near as good as they used to be. One night we waited one hour for the food. My husband's meal seemed to be like a ready meal. On the day we left, there was instant coffee, intermittent bread and butter, no tongs to pick up the bread which everyone was handling. The beautiful pain au chocolat that used to be there are now clearly freezer heat and serve. The staff seem to be unhappy and not properly trained. I cannot blame the manager for kitchen staff not coming to work, but I can blame her for not listening to customers. She spent most of the evening talking the tables around us down, to prevent them from making a complaint, ignoring the other customers. There is a lot of goodwill for The Bull built up over years (this place was stellar), but this will be lost if things continue like this. The Inn Group need to stop cutting corners to reduce costs and look at the staffing and training situation urgently!!

Came for a few drinks with friends of an evening. Staff were very friendly and very helpful when recommending menu items and drinks. The Bull Inn is definitely worth a visit if you ever pass through Beaumaris. Whether you’re local or on holiday ❤️

Could be great - clearly short staffed on day we ate there (? Need more staff?) Made a booking but on arrival took them about 10mins to sort a table - just had us stood in a busy bar area with no communication as they tried to make a table. Service then was terrible - was bar ordering which took about 15mins until served due to only one staff taking orders and making drinks, not a nice relaxing experience at all. Food was nice, however cheese and onion pie ordered for two of our party and was meat pie when it arrived - terrible! Outside beer garden is lovely. Need more staff and better orgainisation.
