I recently visited Rochester and had such a great experience exploring both the castle and the town itself. Rochester Castle is absolutely stunning—full of rich history and with an incredible view from the top. The castle is quite a climb, so if you're not great with heights or a bit nervous about steep steps, you might want to admire it from below. But even from the ground, the structure is impressive and totally worth seeing. The town of Rochester is just as lovely. It has a really charming, historic vibe with lots of independent bookshops, quirky little stores, and cozy cafés. We were lucky to catch the local market too, which had a great mix of food, crafts, and handmade items. There’s definitely something for everyone. The park next to the castle is big, peaceful, and perfect for a stroll or a picnic, and the whole area is family-friendly. I'd say it’s great for all age groups, but do be careful with the steps inside the castle—they’re steep and uneven in places. One thing that stood out was how kind and welcoming the people were. It really added to the whole experience. Whether you're into history, shopping, relaxing in the park, or just exploring somewhere new, Rochester has a lot to offer.

Amazing experience, well maintained, has a lovely gift shop with good prices. Has an option for an audio tour however isn't necessary as they have signage explaining the events. We went when the weather was beautiful so was really nice. Alot of steps but definitely worth it for the views of Rochester and the cathedral.

I loved this place. My kids enjoyed this place. The audio guide they gave was helpful. The castle is very old yet preserved well. It is safe with beautiful sights from the top. Absolute pleasure to visit

The castle looks so authentic - a lot of work has gone into preserving this! It's great that people can walk around the outer motte area free of charge. The surrounding area is all in keeping with the historic buildings. Stunning vistas of the castle and across the River Medway, excellent!

Came here for a Craig David concert, it was absolutely brilliant! Amazing venue in the grounds with the castle. Bag searches were vigorous! There were bars, food, tea and coffee, ice creams, glitter tent, medical tent and portaloos. Got a real mini festival vibe, was such a great afternoon and night, really nice crowd. Lots of security too.

Rochester Castle in Kent makes for a great day visit, offering one of England’s best-preserved Norman keeps—the tallest in the country at 113 feet. Built in the 12th century and famously besieged by King John in 1215, it’s a dramatic slice of medieval history. Visitors can climb winding staircases for sweeping views over the River Medway, explore the vast roofless interior, and relax in the surrounding gardens. It’s not wheelchair accessible due to the many steps, but the site is atmospheric, rarely overcrowded, and pairs well with a visit to nearby Rochester Cathedral. Expect to spend around two hours here for a rewarding mix of history, views, and quiet charm. Definitely Recommended.

Rochester Castle.... 20th August 2025... This wasn't a planned visit, but we were really glad we did. As you entered there was a small gift shop where you purchesed tickets. They were £9.50 per adult, and this included an audio tour guide, we chose to look around ourselves, however after having visited, its probably worth taking the audio for more indepth knowledge. In our opinion, its worth the money and a visit. As you walk around there are information boards located in different areas, with a brief description and scent boxes to smell. The staircases could be tricky for some, though there is a handrail, the steps are original, so uneven and plenty of them. They had a Jester on the day, who carried out a great magic card trick for us, so they obviously have bits on to entertain the kids in the school holidays. The grounds around the castle are free to enter and spotless. There were lots of people sitting and having something to eat, playing or just chatting. There was also a small kiosk in the grounds by one of the entrances that sold drinks and ice creams/lollies etc.. We also noticed there was parking. It's also a short 10min walk from the train station and right by the wonderful Cathedral and high street with some fantastic shops, pubs and restaurants. Overall a great day out.

This cathedral is small and select, but very good to explore. There was a lot to see and the staff were very kind and welcoming. We just missed out on the mini golf but that was okay, there was still plenty to see! The stained glass windows were beautiful and there seemed to be lots of exhibitions on. It's very easy to find and navigate.

Rochester Cathedral is breathtaking from the moment you see it. The architecture is incredible, with beautiful stonework, high arches, and peaceful interiors that make you stop and admire every detail. It is the second oldest cathedral in England, and you can truly feel the history in every corner. It is not just a religious site, but a brilliant tourist attraction with calm surroundings, helpful staff, and fascinating displays about its past. The mix of ancient design and modern exhibitions makes it enjoyable for all ages. Whether you love history, architecture, or simply peaceful places, Rochester Cathedral is definitely worth a visit.

The cathedral second only in time to that at Canterbury, was the See of Cardinal John Fisher martyred for refusing to accept the religious settlement of King Henry VIII in 1535. The church is steeped in history and whilst a cathedral, feels like a parish church. The tours are very informative. Of interest is that as a former Benedictine Monastery we were told that the cathedral community continue to read a chapter of the Rule of St Benedict. We were also told that the cathedral does not charge as, as a former benedictine community the cathedral does not charge, as under the Rule the cathedral community welcomes guests as pilgrims, as under the Rule. The cathedral has a regular pause for prayer throughout the day c/half of the hour. Of the many highlights in the cathedral is the beautifully carved font, the Rochester Triptych, a simplistic carving of the Virgin Mary in the Lady Chapel. The tomb of Bishop Merton, medieval floor files under the alter near Bishop Merton's tomb, to the left and to the left of this altar is a door behind which is one of the oldest doors in the country. The restored quire by Gilbert Scott restores the medieval pattern. The beautiful carving on an internal door to the chapter house. And by the entrance in the North Transept is an Icon in 2004, the orthodox icon depicts the conversion and baptism of the King of Kent. The tombs of Sts Paulinus and Itemar. Of interest to those interested in the Zulu War is memorial to Lt Chard VC of the Rorkes Drift defense. One could spend a day exploring the surface of the history of the cathedral.

Stunning Cathedral. V helpful, friendly and welcoming staff; visiting alone i was approached several times by staff saying hello, finding out where I was from, telling me fascinating snippets of information. It was a delight speaking to them all and they oozed enthusiasm and pride for the Cathedral, it's history, what it offered, and how they wanted to welcome visitors. Crypt was closed sadly, so wasn't able to view the Textus ... maybe another time. Cafe was in a lovely setting in the Crypt with a good selection of cakes to have with your coffee. No charge, but donations welcome. Loved it here ❤️

Very well kept, and a stunning piece of architecture. It's also great that the surrounding area has been more or less preserved, to keep the context of the cathedral - although there are cars on the pedestrian-looking roads, so beware of traffic.

Lovely Catherdral, with an amazing organ. The place is beautiful and serene. The volunteers are all very helpful and friendly. There is a nice souvenir shop, toilets. Not sure if there's a cafe 🤔 Entrance is free.

Bit of crumby place, cobwebs and dust about. I know it’s supposed to be rustic but needed a clean. Not overly friendly place either. However started to fill up while we were there so it look popular with others.

What has happened to this place?? Going back years it has been a great place to have a coffee in Rochester. Over the last 6 months something has changed, Service slow, staff uninterested, orders wrong ... even simple ones. Also, what's up with the paper cups, and the iced late that's 90% ice Its honestly horrible here now, sort of feels like one of those nasty tourist trap places you find in central London I cannot believe this is the original owners/management team. Abysmal, won't return

Decent coffee shop with a warm indie vibe that’s cool but not so cool it’s alienating. I came with my 3 y/o in between errands and it was a nice little stop. Not overly priced, not necessarily cheap (but what you’d expect). I had the chicken and jalapeño panini, with a raspberry white choc muffin and strawberry milkshake for my son. All good although I wish I went for the bbq pulled pork panini, but it wasn’t as big so I let my eyes get the better of me! (Also I realise not ordering a coffee and leaving a review is a bit of a miss but I just didn’t fancy the extra caffeine intake right now, may regret it later when I sing at a wedding in the evening). Anyway it’s a nice space, staff were friendly and helpful, even let us use the toilet without having ordered anything (but be sure to spend some coin 😉). They were playing some decent indie tunes, heard a bit of Fontaine’s, Sam Fender and WET LEG, which is always a win for me (clean versions of course). Would love to know if they ever have live music here as I think it could work well, little small and intimate potentially but it could work maybe. We came out the car park and it was the first place we saw, after walking a bit further up the high street I’m glad we came back, good vibes and nice easy times

I love this cafe's decor (dark walls and ceiling, natural wood, pretty lighting), location (opposite the Cathedral), the music has been bang on before (indie/rock) and the staff have always been friendly, edgy looking and welcoming to me. They also give away sandwiches to the homeless at the end of the day/week which is good. They also sell delicious muffins and a nice pot of tea. I find their caramel frappucinos however waaaay too sweet without any taste of coffee! I've had them there twice and it's milk with tons of caramel blended completely smooth to a water consistency and I found it unpleasant to drink it was that sweet. Starbucks' version is more like a thick coffee milkshake with caramel down the sides of the glass and way less sweet. I wish they'd alter their recipe to be more like Starbuck's version. I'll still go but order tea and a muffin instead!

I have visited here a few times as I like to Shop indecently - however I do find the staff quite rude/not bothered and I’ve found another great Indy coffee shop further up the high street. I couldn’t finish the ‘matcha’ I had today after a few sips and realised it was just a ready made powder. Shame.

Cafe serving premium coffee,teas,hot chocolate etc. Plus cold drinks and various baked and cakes.Located in Rochester High St. Medium sized seating area with some soft seating plus tables and chairs. A couple of small tables outside. Inside they have collections of tea and coffee pots on the wall, it's dimly lit which kind of gives it a cozy feeling. My dark chocolate mocha was very enjoyable. I didn't have anything to eat on this occasion but have tried cake there before and found it good.

Seriously rude and unwelcoming staff here. Take your money elsewhere, Leonard's cafe at store 104 + Rochester coffee and many more on the high street.. you will without unreasonable doubt receive a much friendlier service and at least some basic pleasantries. Horrible atmosphere here do not recommend.

There is an entry fee for this museum, but it does have some unique exhibits. It has a multi level prison hulk exhibit and an exhibition with Charles Dickens artifacts.

This is a very nice little museum but unfortunately not free. Would recommend a visit but it may not be accessible to all now due to the fee which is a shame for some families. However saying all that, I don’t object to paying a fee because these lovely places in this day and age will be lost without a fee.

Amazing little museum. Had a great afternoon out with my family. The Guildhall has some great exhibits and delves into the history of the Medway towns very well. I've lived in Medway pretty much all my life and I still learnt something new.

For a free museum, we had a great time and I'd well say that it's worth a visit. He spent a good hour walking round the whole place, and a lot of the exhibits were interactive, so it was a great place to bring kids. Some of the historical torture stuff involving the dockside prisons might be a bit strong for children, so visit with caution. The preservation of the old paintings and artifacts from the towns is particularly good for any history buffs.

Wonderful museum. Small, but packed with information and artifacts from the local area. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of information about Charles Dickens, his life, loves and death. Lovely, enjoyable & educational museum. Update: I returned to the museum with my friend and they have added the Hulks exhibition. We loved it! I highly recommend.

Loved it. This is a free museum and well maintained. Step back in history. We parked in the paid parking near by and walked down to the museum. Rochester cathedral is 3 min away. The street has some amazing antique type shops.

horrendous service at rochester branch waited 3 hours for delivery to our garage so far have phoned for the last 1hr and the phones are just circling you just get put into a queue and no one answers. it's too big a company for the employees to care! that's why it's got the biggest turnover of staff.

The lady with the crazy orange nails is amazing, works so hard and great with customers. The backroom staff are awful. Extremely slow and rude.

Visited mid day on a Monday for a click and collect order, no queues, just a small wait for the item. The order was correct, I double-checked at the desk. I'm surprised by the reviews of how many people don't check their orders before they leave... There wasn't much on the shelves, but it looked like they had the basics.

Slowest service can possibly think of. This is first thing in morning when it's empty as well. Thank you to the lady behind the till for actually going & getting my items. Which pickers were supposed to.

Came here for dinner with a friend following a recommendation of this restaurant. Nice atmosphere, though not the usual fancy restaurant you expect, but more of a traditional Thai vibe which is even better. Seated promptly and orders taken. Food came out tasty and fresh with authentic flavours. Customer service was top notch and prices were super reasonable 👌🏾. Will definitely visit again.

Amazing service and good. The Thai green and red curries were lovely. Pad Thai was also excellent. Large portions of rice. Excellent value and too this restaurant quality. Best we’ve had in Kent and outside London. Can’t wait to go back. Great service and fitted us in no problem even though it was busy during Dickens Festival.

The best Thai food I've ever ever had. And Thai is my favourite food. My other half had the yellow curry and I had green curry which has always been my fave, until I tried his Yellow curry and oh my heavens above! It was phenomenal. Their ribs fell off the bone, the satay chicken was to die for and they were super friendly and accommodating. The decor and ambience is very authentic, you could easily forget where you are if you sit at the back of the restaurant. Will definitely return ✓✓✓✓✓

I havent visited since 2021, but its great to see there's not been a lapse in service. This was an amazing evening with a wonderful friend. We arrived a bit late, but they accommodated us 😃. In 90 mins or less, we were able to get the pre, starters, have time to consider the menu, place our orders, have starter, main and dessert and pay the bill. That speaks to the speed of service. They're also responsible to their patrons. We declared a shellfish allergy and someone came back to the table to advise one of our options was prepared in a shellfish environment and gave us the opportunity to change it. Amazing! The taste of the food was rich and 'moreish' 🤣. My friend even joked at the end of the evening that we couldn't taste it properly and so would need another round to give a proper opinion! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The team are delightful to interact with. Speed of service - extremely efficient, presentation of food - colourful, professional and clean. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant, and will defo be going again.

We shared a retirement celebration with close friends at Thai Four Two and it was great evening. This family run business offers an excellent friendly service along with wonderfully tasting food. There were a few of us which made it extra busy for the restaurant but nothing was too much trouble for them. Everyone said how lovely the food tasted. We have been coming here since our first date over 10 years ago and we still love everything about the place. 1st class Thai restaurant in Rochester

I ordered & paid for meat & chips @ 2234hrs, Called back an hour to be told delivery driver was on way & be few minutes. 2 hrs hours later after constant calls & answer machine messages a delivery driver called to say he was knocking on my front door (I was at work by this time) TODAY.. I get an unapologetic apology & when food did arrive it wasn't the meat & chips ordered but a cold bit of meat in pitta. I want my mo ey refunded in full plse

Food was okay but they're a rip off. Ordered a meat, chips and salad. The chips were from a bag, not the usual fresh cut chips you usually get from places. They also hid chips under the meat to appear like you got more. They also stuffed salad into the box rather than put it on top like everywhere else. Didn't even have a pitta. Frankly, really poor for your money, eat elsewhere. Nobody likes being ripped off.

We wanted to try something new and decided to look for a Thai restaurant. A quick Google search and Limehouse Thai seemed like a good choice. We were first to arrive just after opening. My first impression was how clean the place was. The decor is simple yet lovely. We ordered 2 starters and 3 mains and every dish was delicious, and also a good value for money. The waiter seemed inexperienced and without a good knowledge of the menu, hence only 4 stars for the service. We enjoyed our evening, I liked the fresh flowers on each table, which was a nice touch.

Today was my second visit for lunch . I went last week with my husband and missed out my daughter that’s why went today with full family! The place is absolutely brilliant. I should have asked the names of the people who were serving us. They were so lovely and helping. Okay, let’s talk about the food ! Seriously they have got the best chef in the town ! I wanted to lick my plate , it was so Yammy! My 3year old finished his sweet and sour chicken . I am a pescatarian, I tried their veggie green and red curry ! Vegetables were absolutely fresh and not overcooked! Just perfect! Keep up doing good work . You guys are amazing!

We had a lovely lunch at Limehouse Thai on the old Rochester High Street. The food was delicious and full of authentic flavours, and the children really enjoyed their meals as well. It was a wonderful spot for a relaxed family lunch.

Authentic Thai food in the UK! My favourite is Goong Pao, and the coconut ice cream on bread is so nostalgic — it really brings back childhood memories.

Always an enjoyable experience at Limehouse Thai. It is clean and spacious, the staff are friendly and attentive. The food is delicious and at decent prices, nice selection of drinks. Today we went for lunch for my Dads birthday and they suprised him with a slice of cake! Without us even requesting it, Really nice of the staff. Will be visiting again soon, thank you

I had a great experience eating here. It really helped with missing Indonesian food. Authentic Indonesian restaurants are hard to find in Kent, so Thai food has become my go-to, and this place tastes just like home. Shame the Thai tea was sold out at that time, but we really love the ambiance and their service.

So I live in the over populated, loud and busy Medway Towns. The Dockyard is not only a wonderful step back in history, it is peaceful. It is run with care and attention and those who work there are knowledgeable and very friendly. A perfect day trip. It is still a working dockyard and new businesses are moving into the offices and a new wedding venue is being restored for 2026. I love this place!

Our visit coincided with the 1940s-themed event, which was exceptionally well-executed. It is regrettable that this was the final iteration. The event's organization was commendable. However, the Call the Midwife taster session, priced at £10 per person for a 20-minute experience, received negative feedback from our group, who considered it to be a poor value proposition and not representative of the full tour. This may deter future participation in the main tour. Despite this, the overall experience remained positive.

We have used our yearly ticket a few times over the year and always end up having a long and fulfilling day out. Engaging for grown ups and a 6 year old. We usually pack a picnic, but this time having exited via the restaurant, the food looked delicious and the menu is fairly priced, so we will treat ourselves next time. All of the staff are so lovely and friendly, but an extra shout out to Jazmyn today who was FANTASTIC! She was so enthusiastic and gave us some lovely information about HMS Gannet. We feel like we learn something new every time, making the yearly ticket very much worth it. Can't wait to see further development of the site over the next 10 years.

Great day out. Never been before. The historic ships reviewed elsewhere. The ticket is valid for a whole year,so I will be back in the spring. If you are walking from the station, it's a good 30 minute walk.

Ever since moving to Kent, some 30 odd years ago, have always enjoyed visiting the Historic Dockyard in Chatham... So much history on your doorstep. No need to try and see everything at once, as the tickets last a whole year... Long may this place continue 👍👍👍

Well worth seeing , make sure you go in the submarine . Tickets would be more economical as a local as they last for a year so it was expensive for us just to visit once . But very interesting my son loved it especially

Really great museum full of history and learning! We visited as a family with our 9 year old. She loved every minute from walking around the exhibits to the tour of the cold war era submarine. Plenty to see and do covering the whole history of the dockyard from its earliest days to its closure in the 1980's. We spent about half a day and could have stayed longer if we had the time. Tickets are valid for a year so if you are local then you can go back and dont have to do it all in a single session. Also there are some concessions, when we arrived we found out english heritage members get discount which was an unexpected bonus. Overall well worth a visit and we will be back before our year tickets run out!

It’s a good play area for kids, and the price is good for 2 and a half hours. Most places charge similar price for an hour, which isn’t enough. The play area has many things from slides to a pitball area to a shootout for big kids and a play area for babies to toddlers - all kid ages covered. Food: Their orange juice is definitely not nice, it’s just a bit of orange juice mixed with lots of water. Their chips was cold but the fish finger was warm BUT, it was over cooked - now that chewable for 2 year old. For the price you pay, it’s not worth it. You only get a small portion of chips, a tiny bit of salad and 1 piece of fish finger.

I like to get there at 9.30 so it is quieter and also the car park gets very busy. Kids always enjoy themselves. The food is very dissapointing, you wait a long time for it and its cold when it arrives. The baby area could be supervised better as it states under 4s only but there always older and bigger kids running riot and knocking the babies over. But overall good value for money.

Today I need give 4 stars .today was our double party which went really well until show up our ordered mascots nothing went wrong the guy and girl did well just they didn’t feel confident at all in them role. I think if they want charge £35 for mascot of 15min they should choose someone who can do actor role and feel confident with kids to make them happy. Overal the decorations was done really good 😊 we had music 🎵 which kids enjoyed. Food was great and the member stuff who was organising our party was really great she listened my request and tried to do all to fill up my wish for what I can say big Thank you. Customer service great girls really helpful and friendly.

Extremely disappointed yesterday was turned back from monkey bizz as they stated they were too many people there however it was not full at all genuinely the emptiest I've seen it my 4 year old ended up crying and the old lady at the desk had a smerk on her face as she stated you should of booked it then... found them Extremely rude and both ladies at the desk have no peoples skills and tbh shouldn't be at the desk you can tell they don't like there Jobs and don't do it with passion. Not a very nice experience for me nor my 4 year old who was turned away very upset.

Took my kids here for the friends birthday party and it was great a guy dressed up as superman gave a bit of cake to evryone and the playground was great but some kids apparently fell of a long big climbing thing but idk.

This is certainly better run and organised than some of the competition I've took my granddaughter to. The little toy town is great too. The staff actually do watch what's going on and they have a tannoy which they use when needed. The little cafe is ok too... I would definitely bring our little one back here again.

I bought a pack of plaice as well as two other packets of fish on the 3 for £12 offer yesterday 9th March. I've just got the fish out of the fridge to have one piece for my dinner and the other tomorrow. The packet seemed a bit blown and when I looked at the date it said use by 9th March. I didn't notice the dates when I picked it up as I expect the store to check the stock and reduce if it's to be consumed on day of purchase. The quality of the fresh food has gone down and checks on fresh produce is pretty poor so I won't be buying fresh produce in this store again.

I usually enjoy Starbucks, but my recent visit left me deeply disappointed and hurt. I placed my order and waited patiently, only to watch several other customers who ordered *after* me—none of whom looked like me—get served first. I was clearly visible and standing in the designated waiting area, yet the staff continued to ignore me, making no effort to check on my order or acknowledge my presence. As an Asian customer, I couldn’t help but feel that I was being treated differently. It’s a very uncomfortable and disheartening feeling when it seems like your presence is deliberately overlooked. I sincerely hope this wasn’t racially motivated, but it certainly felt that way in the moment. Every customer deserves to be treated with equal respect and attention. I hope the store’s management takes this seriously and addresses both staff training and the culture that allows behavior like this to occur, will never visit this store again.

Edit : the furniture is renewed. Now everything is great The staffs are super friendly. They take care of the customers very well. The coffee is good as any other starbucks branch. So you are asking What's different? The difference is in the pictures. The chairs are uber dirty. I think the manager of the brunch needs glasses to see what's happening in his branch. They need a serious cleaning. Other than cleaning, everything is great

This coffee shop has a terrible layout. We went in and it's not obvious where you are supposed to order on the long counter. There are two doors, depending on where you come in it's not obvious where the order counter is. There are no overhead signs. Once you do order you go to the other side people then stand around you waiting to order and are a bit in the way. Then there is the seating. There are plently of seats but not enough tables. I do not know if it is a Strood peculiarity but too many seating areas are only occupied to half capacity, so many couples sitting at 4 space tables, and so many singletons sitting at double tables. There were many chairs but nowhere to sit in privacy except outside. Therein lies two other problems. First off when you get your order and you may be using both hands, the doors are not automatic and you have to ask someone to get the door for you. This is then compounded when you ask for a white americano and the staff just make you a black one and then tell you to simply top off your drink with warmish milk. So when laden with any bags that you have need to try to get out of this door, you end up spilling bits of it. Finally as I get to the metal tables outside, the inevitable happens, the table rocks and my drink spills some more. All of this in combination with a staff rushing around to get tasks done and barely spending time with you, mispronouncing words and not even looking at you. The lady that took our order was fixed on the screen in front of her, every time we went to make an order, she would clip the end of our sentence to ask a question. At this rate why not give us the screen in the first place?

Food and coffee absolutely fine, we sat outside on 7/9/25 between 12 and 1 pm, staff behind the counter polite and service excellent, but whilst sitting outside we were persistently soaked by the member of staff who was spraying the tables that didn't need cleaning and scrapping the chairs along the floor, I gad to move my bags twice in fear of the clothes I had just purchased getting wet as they were in open bags, and because of that we got up and left.

No complaints about the service and coffee it’s very good. But come on Starbucks what is with the disgraceful furniture. These seats are so unwelcoming, so filthy! The tables and floor haven’t been attending to in a while too… Not what you expect when you pay above average prices for a coffee. Get a grip!

Always a good vibe in this Starbucks when I go to get my chai tea latte after work sometimes and watch the world go by but special shoutout to Daniel — he’s super friendly and enjoyed our little chat about Pokémon. Little things like that make coming in worth it and left me smiling the whole way home 🙂

We booked this lovely restaurant for my wedding day meal, Danny dressed all the tables and chairs in my colours which was blue and pink with lights, name labels and centre pieces. Danny and his lovely staff was so helpful, friendly and served all 30 of my guests with a smile. The food was delicious and all my guests said what beautiful food they had eaten. Danny done an amazing job and my day went smoothly and would definitely recommend The Boat House for special occasions or just a meal with family and friends. Went in at 1.30 on a Friday The restaurant was pretty much empty but was told we could only eat in the bar as there was no room. Ordered food and was told it would be an hour as they were so busy. The bar was also pretty empty. Decided to wait but regretted it How this place stays in business is beyond me. The chef and kitchen staff must just be totally incompetent STAY WELL AWAY !!!

Turkuaz Restaurant is beautifully located by the River Rochester, offering lovely views and a modern, stylish setting. There’s a clear sense of order and efficiency in the service, which makes the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. We opted for the mixed grill platter for four to share, and it was more than generous – excellent in both flavour and quality, and with such a good portion size that we even had to take some away. The staff were exceptionally friendly and full of energy, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. A big thank you to the chefs as well for preparing such delicious food for us. Sadly the roast dinner beef and chicken was very dry. Parsnips not edible as cut too small. Like cardboard. Best bit was the Yorkshire pudding. Food could be so much better and hotter. Hope it will improve as wouldn't eat here again otherwise.

Sunday roast book at 3pm we had paid an left by 3.30. It was the worst roast I'd eaten! It was cold and inedible. Absolutely disgusting. The food was cold the pub an atmosphere was just as cold.

Where to begin. The lads ordered "meat feast" pizzas. They were basically pepperoni pizzas with Sundays leftover chicken crumbs sprinkled over them. After a few slices each, they gave up. A fly landed on the plate and literally buzzed straight off. We said to the barman we'd give him £20 if he could eat 3 slices. He obviously declined our offer. In fairness we did have the best laugh ever about the food that was served up. So big thanks to the microwave operator. He made our night. Best laugh in ages. Proper belly laughs

We had a lovely day out here. In short, we felt Diggerland was generally pretty good value for money. Firstly - we had missed any information telling us that a couple of attractions wanted actual cash. The cafe will do exchange cash to a point but has a charge. Don’t forget to take some pound coins! The only other head’s up we had was to read the age restrictions on rides clearly. We queued a few times for rides having misunderstood the age requirements and our younger boys weren’t too impressed 😅 Other than this we had a great day. Parking was plentiful, reception was clean and welcoming with a helpful assistant to check our tickets and tell us where to go. The digger area itself was pretty busy, but it was clean and easy to navigate and queues weren’t too crazy for individual attractions within the park. We rode the bumper cars a few times (you need tokens from the gift shop, so get these as you enter). We excavated some bricks from the trenches, we rode bobcats and all sorts. The cafe was solid, tables weren’t cleared very pro-actively but we asked somebody to help us out and they did straight away. Food isn’t cheap but it was pretty good quality and very generous servings so overall good value for money.

OMG this place is AMAZING!!! I can’t believe I waited this long to go! I feel I have been missing out all these years. Honestly this is such a fun concept that I cannot tell whether I was having more fun than my kids. The place really does cater for all ages. As you can imagine, the park is mostly involving attractions with diggers, but the variety of activities is well thought out. They even let your kid drive a 4x4 car if they are above 1.4m😱. I cannot recommend enough this place. I am already counting the days until my next visit.

It's great idea, but needs a lot of attention. Lot of machines are tatty with bits missing, and generally looking uncared for. No tracked vehicles to drive, only one digger - no idea why not more as there's the track for them. Staff unfailingly polite and helpful. Good indoor play area for youngsters. Cafe good too, and sensible prices. OAP discount excellent idea.

A reasonably fun place to take the kids, Doubt we would return though and would probably recommend avoiding to most parents. If you turn up on the day there is a 46% surcharge to catch you didn’t pre pay, it has vibes of flying with Ryan air. Then you walk straight into rides which require extra payment, so you have to negotiate with your kids. I come to this sort of place to have a nice time, not deal with tokens and pound coins all afternoon. A fun touch was they ask you not to walk with muddy shoes through the gift shop, instead I suggest they let us escape without being forced through your shop. The young staff were nice though.

Fantastic place for the kids! Omg wow, so much to do and see for the kids. Under 1m is free which is amazing although they then aren't tall enough to do some rides. Spread out, easy to manoeuvre with a buggy, clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly. The kids were disappointed the ice cream truck had shut because of the rain ;( Also, last comment - I think an adults ticket costs too much. For the 5 of us, the price would put me off returning.

Our three year old great nephew's favourite place. All the 'big boys' - dad, grandad and uncles loved it too. Great fun for all ages - and genders, plenty of places for a picnic and a variety of diggers to have fun on. Very knowledgeable, competent and helpful staff. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I walked through this as part of the Strood community trail. It was a short walk through it with clear directions and views of some part of Chatham. It was quiet although it’s relatively close to the roads.

Great little hidden gem. Lovely views from the top. Very clean and tidy with good paths. Takes about 20-25 minutes to walk around. Recommend keeping dogs on a lead as it's very close to the main road and there are no fences.

Perfect park for a walk, to hide away from everything and just fill up your energy levels. Dog walkers will love it too and with the playground kids won't be bored at all. There is place for just sunbathing or a picking and you can also play football or basketball.

If you didn't reside in the area you wouldn't realise it was there! This park is not a flat space, it rises quite high. There are play area for children and open grass area for ball games as well as wooded area with paths and steps all over the park. There are some picnic tables and benches around the parks so you can sit and take in nature's beauty. There are at least 6 entrances to the park, at least 2 at the top. A small car park at the end of King Aurhur's Drive (off Cliffe Road) for 13 vehicles, including a disabled space. The jewel of this park is its view from the highest point. You have a spectacular view of Rochester and Chatham and the River Medway. You can also see the Great Lines, Fort Amherst, Shelley Bridge and much more. A welcome place to visit and relax. Well worth a visit.

Broomhill park is a jewel in the Strood urban area. An oasis of beauty, peace and tranquility. It is a place where you can sit quietly and enjoy the fantastic views. If you are with kids then there is a wonderful children's play area, and an area for family barbeque for an open air get together. A must visit site.

2 stars only because of the self entitled dog owners. Barking, unleashed, running through the play area, chasing squirrels and birds, scaring my child. Dog owners smirking.

Over the last few years we have ordered flowers for my mum to be delivered to the care home. Not only are the flowers perfectly arranged they always take the time to make sure she has them rather than leave them at reception. First Class Service.

To say I am very disappointed is an understatement and would not recommend this florist! The 1st picture is the bouquet I ordered and the 2nd picture is bouquet that got delivered! It is nothing like what I had ordered and the shop didn’t have the decency to call me to let me know that they could not make the bouquet I ordered!! These wasn’t cheap they cost £65 plus delivery but it’s not about the price it about not delivering what was paid for.

Am so happy we used Ginger Lily for the flowers for my Fathers funeral. We recently used Ginger Lily for my nephews funeral flowers, living out of the area I called to check that they could do what we were asking for. Georgia suggested a wooden name plaque on the massed heart that we had decided on. Seeing the flowers on the day, we were so pleased with how they looked and the wooden name plaque complemented it well. I would highly recommend this service and have no hesitation in using them again .

Excellent service from very helpful, friendly staff who couldn't do enough to welcome us. It was lovely! The hotel is ideally placed for motorway and local access as well as restaurants and family entertainment. The hotel food was nice and well priced. The restaurant is a little tired looking and, I felt, understaffed and therefore the tables weren't cleaned very well. The bedroom was spacious, and the bathroom was clean. The bed was very high and difficult for me to get in and out of, and it was a bit too firm for me, but otherwise, it was a very nice stay and we would happy to go back there whenever.

Stayed here for 2 nights , Booking in was very pleasant along with the booking in staff. We didn't book online for breakfast but paid when we got there..The breakfast was amazing we couldn't complain everything was no trouble for the staff. The only thing was that there was a leakage in the hallway on the second hallway floor but was sorted out within a few hours... We have never stayed at any premier in before but We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

I was booked in by MTS ltd for a week's induction course but left after two nights because I didn't want the job. The hotel was perfectly fine with a clean room and decent restaurant. I've deducted one star because there was no EV charging points anywhere on that entire estate.

Probably the worst hotel I've stayed in, in many years. Corporates need to learn you can't buy a good customer experience purely by investing in the room. If everything else is crap, the hotel is crap. First off, the car park layout is an absolute joke. When a high percentage of your weekday clients are tradesmen - why have you deliberately designed your carpark to restrict their options to park? It's offensive. Arrive and the auto login machines are broken; The key card machines are broken. Check-in takes an age. Receptionist is "too" friendly. Doesn't tell us when breakfast is or dinner. On the second day we were actually told off for not booking a table in the restaurant for their meal deal option... why would we know to book a time for dinner - if you've never told us that's your policy? Arrive at room which is literally 200m away, key doesn't work. Get in room attempt to use shower and the whole broken shower head falls off, from 2m up, nearly breaking my foot... reception didn't apologise or offer to switch rooms... just said they'll have maintenance look at it. And to top it off the bath didn't drain either. Go to eat dinner and it takes circa 90 minutes to conclude, service being ridiculously slow - something which continued all week. We had 3 rooms booked all of which were on different floors and as far away as possible! But the biggest complaint is they didn't clean the rooms at all, all week and only gave one threadbare towel for use. If you're going to use crap white towels (especially for tradesmen working dirty jobs) - then you need to change them regularly. I don't expect a full room service necessarily everyday, but someone coming in to empty the bins, make the bed and change the towels really is the minimum. For £90/night you can afford a 5 minute room service a day!

Stayed two nights while visiting family in the area. Ample parking and the outside area was clean and tidy. Check in was seamless and staff on duty were very friendly, helpful and informative. We had Continental breakfast, the sourdough crumpets were lovely. We ate in the Restaurant both evenings, the menu had a good selection of food however, a light bite menu, of non fried food, would have been welcome on the evening after attending a family BBQ. A full meal was out of the question and all the starters were fried and greasy except the soup. Our room, 318 was lovely, newly refurbished and on the 3rd floor. It was clean, spacious, comfortable, well stocked with amenities and if additional tea, coffee, milk and sugar were needed, there's a help yourself box in reception. The bathroom was well supplied with everything needed. The only downside of the room was the railway line running alongside the hotel, no alarm clocks needed early morning!! In the restaurant, we were beautifully looked after on both days by Maddie who has customer service skills of an extremely high level, we were both struck by her ability to communicate on a variety of levels, she was polite, friendly, professional and very welcoming. A wonderful Ambassadir for the Premier Inn brand. Beds! In our opinion the Hypnos mattresses were better, the Silentnight ones are alright, just personal choice. The soft pillows could be softer, again personal preference. All in all a really good stay, we'll definitely return and would recommend the hotel.

We had a premier plus room and it had a bit more room which was nice - 2 chairs so you didn't have to sit on bed unless you wanted to. The hotel is clean. The staff are attentive and friendly. Lovely views of the river if your room is at the front of the hotel.

I recently stayed at this hotel and would like to express my disappointment regarding a significant issue that negatively affected my experience. Throughout my stay, there was no hot water available in the room, forcing me to take cold showers. This was not only extremely uncomfortable but also unacceptable for a hotel stay. It's important to note that at check-in, the receptionist did not mention any issue with the hot water. Only later did I notice a very small sign vaguely referring to “issues” with hot water and recommending certain times for showering. However, in my experience, the water remained cold regardless of the time. Additionally, connecting to the internet was a problem, and even after getting connected, breaks happen frequently. I had expected a basic standard of comfort and service, and the absence of hot water fell far below those expectations. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and resolve this issue to prevent future guests from facing the same problems.

If you’re a foodie like me and like Indian food, you’ll love this place! The menu has a fantastic selection of dishes, and we loved everything we tried. I Loved their chole bhature and pav bhaji. We only had good comments about the food. Our server was gracious and accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. I can’t wait to come back again!

Went here with my friends and absolutely loved it! We ordered pani puri, veg momos, chicken noodles, tandoor wings, garlic naan, butter chicken, pau bhaji and chicken tikka masala. Every single dish was top notch – the taste, the quantity, and the freshness were excellent. The food came out warm, service was quick and friendly, and overall it was a 10/10 experience. Definitely coming back again! We were served by dalgir. He helped us eith the menu and everything. Thanks to him.

We’d had previous meals in the restaurant and they were good. The service was friendly and tasty food. Our takeaway tonight is one of the worst I’ve had delivered to date. I took pictures as I was worried it would do us more harm than good. Meat was dry, sauce was all oil, poppadom was annihilated and it didn’t taste of anything. Unfortunately it seems they are going the way of most restaurants that deliver and don’t care as long as they get paid. Absolute rip off!!

Really tasty meals, we go there as a group from work and despite trying other restaurants in the area we end up back here. We have never been disappointed with the food. Always had a complimentary taster. Atmosphere a 4, it’s always quiet but the reason isn’t really the fault of Manisha, it is the location. This part of the town is run down and I suspect it puts people off. Please go in, the decor is clean and tidy. Staff wait attentively but without hovering. Prices are good, 3 of us ate having between us 2 starters, 3 mains, 2 sides, 2 naans and 3 zero beers, 3 coffees (coffee is instant and is the worse part of the whole experience). £56

In 1 hour and 15 minutes we received only drinks and starters. More than 2 hours later we got our mains. Insanely long wait times. Small interior with barely any seats, so it's not like they had lots of seats to cook for. Regardless of takeaway demand, they shouldn't be making customers wait for over 2 hours for food. If you can't deal with the demand, get better staff and improve kitchen layout etc. Expand the rear if needed. Naan were burnt underneath. One of the workers there made the excuse that, that's just how they are. After many complaints they still didn't fix the issue. They also missed a naan to be given to us, and were going to charge extra for one more. The last naan wasn't burn underneath and the waiter said that the others were burnt because there were 47 takeaways so the tandoor gets too hot. That's your problem to solve. Don't tell customers 'that's just how they are'. We're paying for eating there. Provide acceptable food. Your internal issues aren't our problem. Mains came out in a non sensical order. The whole experience was a mess. We were a table of about 17. All the curries looked identical. Not much difference in flavours between them all. Lazy typical Bengali restaurant. The bill came handwritten in illegible handwriting requiring the weird horrible waiter to have to go through it one item at a time. The main waiter, who you can identify as the balding, thin haired very low smv older guy, was rude, weird af and spoke to us like he was having a go at us and being bossy. Vile service. Fire him and replace him. But it seems all the staff are similar to him. Interior is decent. Chairs are very heavy and a pain to move which is an issue when you have children. One side of the chairs were against the wall and there were 3 tables pushed together, making it impossible for people on the wall side in the middle to get out without everyone on their side having to get up and move. Toilets have no locks. Insane. Locks are cheap. Install locks. Hot and cold water are separate. This isn't the 80's. Install mixer taps. Sinks are too shallow. Toilet floor was wet from most likely urine. Don't recommend.

I normally order from here and get an above average meal that caters to the whole family but today I ordered a pizza and the base was raw. I complained and they said they would remake one and once again the base was raw, the owner said he's being doing it for 23 years and never had a complaint. Im sorry but if you look at the photos that's not a cheese pull its the dough. If the dough is cooked you shouldn't be able to pull it like glue. I ended up getting my money but but id only go there for a kebab not a pizza

We had a very nice mixed meat feast form here a few days ago. Lovely dinner for two. Bit much if your on your own though! Be warned. Not bad for 14 bucks. Would go again if in the area.

​Been a regular for 15 years. The lamb doner meat is just not the same anymore. It's dry and like paper. The chicken, though, is superb—definitely recommend that. The portion sizes are all over the place because they keep switching up the container/tray sizes—something's going downhill. They often mess up the orders. The salads are generally overloaded with onion. It's a shame, because I'm finding myself disappointed more and more often. I recently had a brilliant lamb doner at Echo's Kebab in Gravesend... it blew me away and really set a new standard for me...

Really good kebab in the Rochester side of the Medway. Real old school feel to it where you just ring them up, order, they deliver within half hour and you get a menu everytime. No need to Just Eat, Deliveroo or anything like that which I prefer. Not had their pizzas so can't comment on them. Their giant tray of kebab that has everything serves 4 ppl and is only £24, can't beat that for value for money. Kebab sauce is home made as well as it should be. Garlic sauce ain't great.

Never used this kabab before!, popped in quickly on my way to work today for a cheap dinner. Got a chicken wrap and OMG it taste bloody amazing! Very impressed! Service was great and they were quick! I got a small and it was big!! Large portions which no one can complain about! Cash only Pepsi no coke.
