We had a pretty good experience at cafe nucleus; my main gripe is with the prices. Inside it looks quite grand and different to your usual brunch spot. We were seated upstairs with no wait (midday on a weekday) and it wasn’t particularly busy which was nice. It was well air conditioned on a hot day. The food was pretty good although we weren’t blown away. The coffee is very good though, it’s got a balanced and strong flavour and it comes through well even in a milky drink like an iced latte. Our server was polite and friendly, and food was served efficiently. The only thing they are let down by really is the prices, they are astronomical. £7 for a small iced latte is just ridiculous. Any extras tend to be priced high and separately - I have never had to pay per bacon slice to have bacon pancakes. If the food was exceptional I could say the prices are justified, but it’s not, so that was a little disappointing.

Our brunch was enjoyable, and the drinks were a nice surprise, especially the pear juice, which I highly recommend. The menu offers a wide selection, though the prices feel a bit steep. I’m still open to returning to try their lunch or dinner options.

Enjoyable lunch in a lovely setting. I had the braised beef brisket and apple crumble, both of which were delicious - and I loved the cute plating of the dessert. The atmosphere was relaxed and not too noisy. We had a few service hiccups during the meal which was unfortunate - but the manager on duty was helpful in resolving, arranged a complimentary round of drinks as apology, and the team were extra attentive for the rest of our visit. Will definitely return at some point for brunch.

We Ate in the sunny courtyard for a quick lunch. Varied menu choices to suit all tastes and budgets. Had a lovely salad of chicken avacado and bacon husband had sausage sandwich with side of chips, only a few chips though was a rather small portion for the price. Very good portion size for the salad so made up for the chips. Quaint and good atmosphere.

Beautiful area and lovely building. However the food was ok/good, definitely not worth the ridiculous prices. Proportions were not big, the healthy breakfast, which I would say was not extensive or amazing was £17! A Moroccan tea (tea bag and hot water) was over £4! Brekkie for me and my friend came to over £40. Had it been good portions and tasted exquisite then the price would be satisfactory, but it really did not warrant the price. A lot of places now think that sprinkling some greens on stuff makes it worth more money, fyi, it does not!

What a fantastic lunch. The staff, although rushed off their feet were very friendly and one even supplied a piece of history about the building. The food. Amazing!!!!! Loved every mouthful. A great location for Rochester castle. Would thoroughly recommend. 👍 xx

Their sourdough toasties are top tier. Always well presented with a good portion. So consistently tasty! I would fully recommend their avocado, bacon with chilli jam toasty. A work of art. The service here is always good too, friendly and polite staff that are very welcoming and attentive.

Paid a visit to the coffee shop on a day out with a friend. We went in for lunch & back for a drink and cake later. Service was excellent as was the food. They were very generous & gave me a refund because my piece of cake of choice wasn’t as big as it should have been. I’d definitely go there again when I next visit.

Amazing coffee shop and great for a light lunch. Two staff gave excellent customer service. We had goats cheese and caramalised union toasty, ham off the bone and cheese sandwhich and salmon and cream cheese special sandwhich. Washed down with 3 glasses of fizz. Very reasonably priced at about £10 per head. Very highly recommended and will be sure to visit next time in Rochester. Value for money. Probably best cafe in the town.

Stopped in on new Year's day and was met with a lovely welcome, great food and a beautiful cake to take away. Had a vanilla chai latte and it was beautiful! The lady that served us was brilliant.

Visit Rochester coffee three times a week four times a week . It’s my go to place in Rochester. The coffee is just the best and you are always welcomed with a smile. The staff are amazing and always have time for a chat . I love the food and the recent additions to the menu are superb. The atmosphere is the best as everyone knows each other due to its popularity.

Bit of crumby place, cobwebs and dust about. I know it’s supposed to be rustic but needed a clean. Not overly friendly place either. However started to fill up while we were there so it look popular with others.

What has happened to this place?? Going back years it has been a great place to have a coffee in Rochester. Over the last 6 months something has changed, Service slow, staff uninterested, orders wrong ... even simple ones. Also, what's up with the paper cups, and the iced late that's 90% ice Its honestly horrible here now, sort of feels like one of those nasty tourist trap places you find in central London I cannot believe this is the original owners/management team. Abysmal, won't return

Decent coffee shop with a warm indie vibe that’s cool but not so cool it’s alienating. I came with my 3 y/o in between errands and it was a nice little stop. Not overly priced, not necessarily cheap (but what you’d expect). I had the chicken and jalapeño panini, with a raspberry white choc muffin and strawberry milkshake for my son. All good although I wish I went for the bbq pulled pork panini, but it wasn’t as big so I let my eyes get the better of me! (Also I realise not ordering a coffee and leaving a review is a bit of a miss but I just didn’t fancy the extra caffeine intake right now, may regret it later when I sing at a wedding in the evening). Anyway it’s a nice space, staff were friendly and helpful, even let us use the toilet without having ordered anything (but be sure to spend some coin 😉). They were playing some decent indie tunes, heard a bit of Fontaine’s, Sam Fender and WET LEG, which is always a win for me (clean versions of course). Would love to know if they ever have live music here as I think it could work well, little small and intimate potentially but it could work maybe. We came out the car park and it was the first place we saw, after walking a bit further up the high street I’m glad we came back, good vibes and nice easy times

I love this cafe's decor (dark walls and ceiling, natural wood, pretty lighting), location (opposite the Cathedral), the music has been bang on before (indie/rock) and the staff have always been friendly, edgy looking and welcoming to me. They also give away sandwiches to the homeless at the end of the day/week which is good. They also sell delicious muffins and a nice pot of tea. I find their caramel frappucinos however waaaay too sweet without any taste of coffee! I've had them there twice and it's milk with tons of caramel blended completely smooth to a water consistency and I found it unpleasant to drink it was that sweet. Starbucks' version is more like a thick coffee milkshake with caramel down the sides of the glass and way less sweet. I wish they'd alter their recipe to be more like Starbuck's version. I'll still go but order tea and a muffin instead!

I have visited here a few times as I like to Shop indecently - however I do find the staff quite rude/not bothered and I’ve found another great Indy coffee shop further up the high street. I couldn’t finish the ‘matcha’ I had today after a few sips and realised it was just a ready made powder. Shame.

Cafe serving premium coffee,teas,hot chocolate etc. Plus cold drinks and various baked and cakes.Located in Rochester High St. Medium sized seating area with some soft seating plus tables and chairs. A couple of small tables outside. Inside they have collections of tea and coffee pots on the wall, it's dimly lit which kind of gives it a cozy feeling. My dark chocolate mocha was very enjoyable. I didn't have anything to eat on this occasion but have tried cake there before and found it good.

Seriously rude and unwelcoming staff here. Take your money elsewhere, Leonard's cafe at store 104 + Rochester coffee and many more on the high street.. you will without unreasonable doubt receive a much friendlier service and at least some basic pleasantries. Horrible atmosphere here do not recommend.

Cozy Café with Great Food Options Stopped by this small café for a quick bite and had an overall decent experience. We ordered toasties and coffee—both were good, nothing exceptional, but no complaints either. The café offers plenty of pastry and food options, along with ample seating, which is a plus. The service was fine, though a bit more attentiveness would have made it even better. A lovely little spot with a great selection of food—definitely a must-visit when in Rochester!

Could not praise this place any more than I already have! Visited with my husband last week and we were in awe of the place, the amount of goodies on display... And just the positive nature of the staff! I made an enquiry about gluten free alternatives and our waitress (I think her name was Fran) was very good and explained what I couldn't have on the menu and the suitable options were vast! I had a beautiful cheeseboard with gluten free bread and crackers and my husband had a rosemary baked camembert, and the lady gave us a few spoons so I could sample some of my husband's meal and he could sample some of mine while minimising cross contamination further. The prices were very reasonable for what we had and I thought the experience was amazing. I will absolutely be coming back here!

Had an absolute blast with a friend when I was here tonight. The mocha was perfect, yakitori & short ribs were a nice start, and we finished strong with the chef's selection of cheese. The waitress was quick, kind, and knew how to help. Highly recommend!

What a lovely little deli and cafe in Rochester high street. This is part of the cheese room botanicals restaurant slightly further up the high .street. They have a wonderful selection of cheeses, breads, chutneys, hampers and gift sets to choose from. If you choose to visit for lunch which I would highly recommend. You are greeted by lovely friendly staff. Who are very knowledgeable about the different cheeses and the menu. We sat out in the back garden area. Whilst it is small and cosy, there is fresh flowers on the tables and pansy’s planted around the garden which gives it a nice cosy feel, For lunch I choose the Mac n cheese with chorizo and harissa mayo. My partner had the goats cheese and rocket pesto mac n cheese. Which was served with a lovely sour dough bread. Both cost £8 each. Our child had the mini mac n cheese which was served with freshly sliced apple, grapes and a mini chocolate brownie at an incredible price of £6.50. Absolutely worth the price. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. Very nice friendly, attentive staff. I can not fault our time here today and I would highly recommend a visit and try out their great selection of cheeses.

Googled a coffee shop as I was in the area, this adorable coffee shop came up first so I gave it a try. WOW it’s a gorgeous little venue, with the most amazing cakes and homemade sausage rolls. Staff are very lovely introducing themselves and asking my name when I said I’ll be regular due to being in the area twice a week until February. Sat on the side table working and everyone that came in was on first name terms so are regulars, it was so lovely to see. I’ll be back next week, thank you ladies

Lovely little coffee shop with some of the best brownies I have ever tasted! My go to if I want to give a sweet treat as a gift as they sell them in presentation boxes. Great sandwiches with interesting fillings plus vegan options and oh my word. The sausage rolls. Big thumbs up from me

We visited No 64 Coffee and Brunch Shop. Let me tell you, that sausage roll was next level — flaky, savory, and basically a hug wrapped in pastry. And don’t even get me started on the lemon drizzle cake… mind-blowingly good! It was like sunshine and happiness right there on the plate. We’re already counting down the days until the weekend so we can come back and sample more of their amazing menu. Honestly, if their snacks are this good, I might just need to make this a regular part of my adventures! Highly recommend swinging by—your taste buds will thank you.

I love this little place - quaint surroundings and great food! I had mushrooms on toast ( thick doorstop bread. Yum!!) and then a huge piece of coconut and jam sponge. We recently held a private retirement party for a group of 16 people, and the afternoon tea experience exceeded all expectations. The venue allowed us to hire a room exclusively for our group, which created a relaxed and intimate atmosphere perfect for the occasion. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Staff were attentive, courteous, and genuinely accommodating—nothing was too much trouble. We were given full flexibility to arrange the tables to suit our preferences, which helped create a personal and comfortable setting. The afternoon tea itself was beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The sandwiches were freshly made, and special dietary requirements, including gluten-free and dairy-free options, were thoughtfully catered for without any fuss. The scones and cakes were delicious, and there was plenty to go around. It was a truly memorable afternoon, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue for a private event. Excellent service, quality food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere made it a perfect send-off.

We popped in for hot chocolate. It was late in the day and they were close to closing but still welcomed us. If you're going to have hot chocolate, have the posh one ( see photos ) it tastes as good as it looks. I also had a slice of coffee cake, delish! They do afternoon teas and after this little sample , that is definitely on the cards. The staff were all polite,smart and efficient. The venue is upstairs so has a narrow entrance, find the bright pink sweet shop in the high street turn around and you'll see the entrance.

We arrived late, but staff were welcoming and put us under no pressure, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food which was of excellent quality. Staff were really friendly and we will certainly return the next time we visit Rochester. We met the young Chef and we were very impressed with attention to detail and he desire to produce a menu that suited all customers.

This was delightful! Hidden away above the shops is a quaint little café that boasts traditional English food and quality service. Just perfect for a cold winter’s day - warmed by a hot cup of tea, delicious tuna melt and cake. I can thoroughly recommend this place, even if you have to wait on the stairs - it’s worth it. I shall definitely be returning!

Super tasty food at a reasonable price. We always visit this lovely hidden cafe when we visit Rochester. There is a real charm to the environment as it is in an upstairs room in one of Rochester's quaint buildings. Staff are always friendly and there is a real pride in the food served. We had mushrooms on toast today and the bread was delicious with a beautiful crusty homemade taste. The mushrooms were buttery with a lovely flavour. Genuinely wonderful place to visit

Extremely expensive- the tiniest hit chocolate costs £4 as you can see from the receipt. and three staff talking among themselves whilst we were standing at the counter waiting to be served. Didn't enjoy it much. This store has nothing to recommend it (except for the convenient location of course which is why people use it I assume).

Nice staff but sadly the Caramel Frappes were not great. Too much ice. Bloody expensive at £5 too! Also a nice window view with a fab vista of the high street totally ruined by a signage display.

In a past life I was Velma from Scooby Doo and I came here regularly for fish fingers. They were always fluffy and delicious and I always licked my fingers in front of everyone after.

Nothing special. The snacks were overpriced and the lower ground floor, where I sat, looked like it hadn't been cleared for a while. I had to move other people's empty cups, saucers and serviettes etc from my table before I was able to eat and drink. I saw no member of staff down there during my 45 minute stay. The handle on the inside of the men's toilet door was broken which would make it hard for someone with mobility issues to open. The only redeeming feature was the free WiFi.

The Pantry at Fort Amherst has become a firm favourite for our family! We've visited several times now, and each experience has been consistently positive. The cafe itself is clean and inviting, with a relaxed atmosphere that feels perfect for a casual lunch or coffee break. One of the things that impresses me most is the staff. They're always friendly and welcoming, and they went above and beyond to make my son feel comfortable and included. He absolutely loved their attentiveness, which made our whole visit even more enjoyable. While the menu focuses on sandwiches and snacks, the quality is excellent. Everything we've tried has been fresh and tasty, and the portions are acceptable for the prices. They also have delicious cakes and coffees, making it a great spot for a sweet treat. Delicious cake, red velvet and rhubarb and custard cake.

We have used this cafe occasionally for years and it used to be excellent for a cafe but after the pandemic we've had a couple of times when the food was not as good as it used to be, today was the icing on the cake, we ordered and paid for two poached eggs on two toast £4 we were served one egg on one toast, my wife queried this and was offered another slice of toast but was refused another egg, we shall not be going back, it used to be good but no more.

Went here for afternoon tea. Prices around $25/person You get a choice of 6 sandwiches divided into smaller bite sizes for your group and an assortment of desserts and a drink of choice. The service and the atmosphere were great. The desserts were amazing. The sandwiches were not good at all in my opinion. I might just be a picky person but there was so much sauce and they all tasted the same and not different enough. Too much mayo for sure and it just wasn’t my cup of tea at all. I don’t think many Americans would like it. And even my British friend said it had too much sauce. I left and for myself another sandwich at a shop nearby haha but again might just be my personal taste buds.

Went in to Tiny Tim’s for cream tea (7.5£). There was plenty of seating available- and the staff were full of hospitality and kindness. The tea room has a old school feel- with nicely done interiors. The tea room carried its history with it- and is right next to the Car Park. There is some outdoor seating as well (depending on the weather). The scones were delicious and warm- and the cream and strawberry jam added to its charm. The pot tea was one of the best I have had in a while- was flavourful and delish. The only thing- the crockery looked worn-out and could be replaced (maybe it’s because of the old world charm that they were still used). Would visit again. Thanks.

Large group of friends booked Tiny Tims for afternoon tea and we wasn't disappointed. As we were a group we had downstairs to ourselves, which was nice. Great choice of sandwiches, delicious cakes and scones and they kept us topped up with tea. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend. Thanks tiny tims

Pre-Booked the Afternoon Tea As expected from previous visits, the staff went above and beyond. Service was amazing and fast, they always seem to be so very happy to be at work and have a welcoming atmosphere! Could not ask for better from them, 100% recommend for any occasion and even for a visit. Best place in Rochester, if u could give more than 5 stars I would be giving countless amounts. Ok place for breakfast, service was good. Bit of a scruffy place. Poached eggs a bit over done but it was ok. I’m not a big fry up person so depends what you like.

Today, we had a wonderful afternoon tea at Tiny Tim’s. The food was amazing quality, and the portions were very generous. Although, it was very busy, the staff were very attentive & service was very quick. The girl with glasses (sorry I don’t know her name!) was just fabulous. It really was a lovely experience.

The girl at the counter had very good customer service and I’d leave her 5 stars… but as for the food it was absolutely discusting, thick with oil the bun of my burger was soggy and tearing apart from all the grease and fat and tasted like an absolute ball of grease. My partner got the traditional breakfast and the tomatoes where completely raw, when we complained I felt sorry for the girl as it wasn’t her fault as she didn’t cook the food, and she did give us a refund for the food as we didn’t touch it. Her generosity and customer service was the best part of our experience here.

Love this place, been a few times with friends and family. And recently went to one of their social events Blood on the clock tower. Glad I went was nervous to go having never been to something like this before and not played the game before. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you like to play games and be in a relaxed atmosphere.

This place is just wonderful, I always have the best time when I visit. Booking is easy or even if you walk in an ask if there's a table available. The themed nights (LIKE POKÉMON TCG) are so fun 💜 meeting like-minded ppl & enjoying the absolutely GORGEOUS food (I love the burgers!) and being served by such friendly staff is so needed these days. 🌈 Playopolis will always be one of the best places to visit in Rochester so don't miss out this gem 💎 on your plans in this Town x X x x

Absolutely awesome place. With a huge selection of boardgames on offer for every player type; Playopolis is a wonderful place for a group of friends to pass the evening. There's a wide range of drinks and snacks available to keep you going and our hosts made us immediately feel right at home. Will 100% be back next time we're in Rochester.

Such a variety of games to choose from including 1 player games through to 10+ players, a 3 hour session went by sooo quickly. The drinks were lovely we had iced coffees, ice cream matcha and milkshakes. The menu was quite small but staff were also able to cater for both vegetarian and coeliac needs within the group. A really fun way to spend an afternoon and great value.

Had such a lovely time there 🥰 The cocktails are amazing 🤩 so delicious, and there are plenty of vegan options, and it's all decently priced. Plenty of games given the size of the place :) And the staff are really lovely. I can't wait to go again!

This is a great place to visit, especially if you like board games. They have games for all skills and ages (even little ones). The food options are good and tasty. Service is friendly and swift. The concept is great - book a table ahead of time (they may accept walk-ins if there's space), - then order your food via an iPad that they give you to use. - next you pop into the next room to select a board game and bring it back to your table to play - Your food/drinks arrive as you play and you can order more refreshments via the iPad for the duration of your 3 hour booking - You have a great time and pay when you're done. Great idea that is well-executed!

So lucky to have this place on our doorstop! Such an amazing space to play games with friends & family alike. The staff are so friendly & helpful - they could recommend games based on our party size & likes & checked in with us at various points. I love the iPad ordering system too so you get grab drinks & snacks & food without leaving your game! We attended nearly all their online quizzes during lockdown too. Definitely going to be getting membership cards soon!

Nice little snack bar. There's only a couple of vegan options so not much to choose from but loved the vegan pancakes. Staff were very friendly and nice to sit outside on a nice day.

Went to Rochester today with my partner and her sister. Wandered up n down the high street then I noticed a place just set back called Jaggers. Being a stones fan it was meant to be. The girls didn't have much but I had the large breakfast. It was fantastic. Loved it. Will definitely go again. Tiniest criticism - need more butter with the toast lol.

Welcomed me in for Breakfast order before their official open time. The staff were friendly, service was quick and food delicious. The environment was clean and nicely decorated the only negative I can find is the kitchen fan is noisy when seated in the indoor courtyard. Love the menu choices too will definitely be back to sample more!

Excellent breakfast spot in the heart of Rochester. Just next to Rochester Castle, cathedral and the High Street. The service was a bit slow and the staff looked a bit junior. However overall I had good experience with the service. Food was really good. Traditional English breakfast with vegan amd vegetarian options available. I highly recommend this place 👌

What a lovely and amazing find. We stopped here for a cup of tea, scone and half a “Welsh”. It was amazing the food cooked perfectly and the service great! The cafe was cozy and had a lovely atmosphere.

Have passed by many times, but never entered. Partner fancied cake, so I suggested we try Mrs Tickit's Pantry. Small and cosy establishment 🏠 Can buy homemade cake to takeaway. Purchased a slice of Victoria sponge and a slice of cherry & almond cake 🍰 🍰 Absolutely delicious! Really enjoyed our visit to Mrs Tickit's Pantry. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was really nice. The rarebit with poached eggs was particularly impressive. Tea served in a lovely teapot, cup and saucer. The bathroom has a little built in stove in it which is quite unusual!

Fantastic service in a beautiful little building, full of character. The food is great. A varied selection of light lunches, sweet snacks and teas. With both indoor and outdoor seating, hidden away in the heart of Rochester, I've found this an enjoyable experience.

I've been here a few times friendly staff ,nice food and drinks . The only thing I think they need is some blinds on the windows when the sun shines it's so bright and gets hot

Amazing little place do not miss out. Mum & Dad come here lots but my first (definitely not last) visit Great range of food and drink at reasonable prices. Coronation chicken baguette was astounding. Cannot wait to return.

My husband and I were going to go to Starbucks but are keen to support local businesses so we decided on here instead. Absolutely delicious hot chocolate, beautiful cakes and pastries, speedy and friendly service, all with a smile. We'll be visiting again for sure. Thank you.

This place is a real gem in strood. Lovely coffee and fresh sandwiches, baguettes, ciabatta and pastries. Other food available as well like jacket potatoes. Nice area to sit out front and it's tucked away so peaceful to sit and people watch.

I usually enjoy Starbucks, but my recent visit left me deeply disappointed and hurt. I placed my order and waited patiently, only to watch several other customers who ordered *after* me—none of whom looked like me—get served first. I was clearly visible and standing in the designated waiting area, yet the staff continued to ignore me, making no effort to check on my order or acknowledge my presence. As an Asian customer, I couldn’t help but feel that I was being treated differently. It’s a very uncomfortable and disheartening feeling when it seems like your presence is deliberately overlooked. I sincerely hope this wasn’t racially motivated, but it certainly felt that way in the moment. Every customer deserves to be treated with equal respect and attention. I hope the store’s management takes this seriously and addresses both staff training and the culture that allows behavior like this to occur, will never visit this store again.

Edit : the furniture is renewed. Now everything is great The staffs are super friendly. They take care of the customers very well. The coffee is good as any other starbucks branch. So you are asking What's different? The difference is in the pictures. The chairs are uber dirty. I think the manager of the brunch needs glasses to see what's happening in his branch. They need a serious cleaning. Other than cleaning, everything is great

This coffee shop has a terrible layout. We went in and it's not obvious where you are supposed to order on the long counter. There are two doors, depending on where you come in it's not obvious where the order counter is. There are no overhead signs. Once you do order you go to the other side people then stand around you waiting to order and are a bit in the way. Then there is the seating. There are plently of seats but not enough tables. I do not know if it is a Strood peculiarity but too many seating areas are only occupied to half capacity, so many couples sitting at 4 space tables, and so many singletons sitting at double tables. There were many chairs but nowhere to sit in privacy except outside. Therein lies two other problems. First off when you get your order and you may be using both hands, the doors are not automatic and you have to ask someone to get the door for you. This is then compounded when you ask for a white americano and the staff just make you a black one and then tell you to simply top off your drink with warmish milk. So when laden with any bags that you have need to try to get out of this door, you end up spilling bits of it. Finally as I get to the metal tables outside, the inevitable happens, the table rocks and my drink spills some more. All of this in combination with a staff rushing around to get tasks done and barely spending time with you, mispronouncing words and not even looking at you. The lady that took our order was fixed on the screen in front of her, every time we went to make an order, she would clip the end of our sentence to ask a question. At this rate why not give us the screen in the first place?

Food and coffee absolutely fine, we sat outside on 7/9/25 between 12 and 1 pm, staff behind the counter polite and service excellent, but whilst sitting outside we were persistently soaked by the member of staff who was spraying the tables that didn't need cleaning and scrapping the chairs along the floor, I gad to move my bags twice in fear of the clothes I had just purchased getting wet as they were in open bags, and because of that we got up and left.

No complaints about the service and coffee it’s very good. But come on Starbucks what is with the disgraceful furniture. These seats are so unwelcoming, so filthy! The tables and floor haven’t been attending to in a while too… Not what you expect when you pay above average prices for a coffee. Get a grip!

Helpful staff, Beautiful drinks, lovely atmosphere and fantastic customer service Also worth mentioning is the outdoor heating which is perfect if you smoke! Most places do not have these types of facilities (Especially Becky & Kelly)

Always a good vibe in this Starbucks when I go to get my chai tea latte after work sometimes and watch the world go by but special shoutout to Daniel — he’s super friendly and enjoyed our little chat about Pokémon. Little things like that make coming in worth it and left me smiling the whole way home 🙂

ALLERGY AWARE! Ordered a Vegan breakfast which arrived with cows butter, luckily I noticed & avoided a trip to the hospital as i'm allergic, the waitress had no idea & didn't care, the food itself was awful, smashed avocado? Watery & chunks of unripe crunchy avocado, some form of tomato liquid (see photo) & that's with paying for a extra hash brick, prison food is better quality & no plant milks, will NEVER eat here again.

Cutlery always dirty. Teapots and mugs dirty. Tables always dirty. Staff seem put out taking your order, food items always unavailable and staff never have a clue what alternatives they can offer. Requests for dairy free spread often arrive as real butter so no clue about dietary allergies. Coffee machines always out of order. The "waiting staff" are always pleasant but overall it's really not worth coming any more.

I ordered afternoon tea here now, it's the only thing I really enjoy. The hot meals always had a problem with. The staff were friendly.

Hidden Gem! Why have I not heard of this place before after living in Medway for 5 years… the menu has a lot of choice but opted for the Mediterranean breakfast. It was super tasty and cooked swiftly. The staff are very nice and polite too which makes all the difference. They do also offer cooked breakfast and egg dishes too which I will try next time. You can find a table yourself and one of the team will come to your table to take your order. If you are based in Medway and looking for somewhere new to try this is the place to be 👍

Staff were really unpleasant. My wife asked where the toilet was and as she walked away the two waitresses spoke to each other in Turkish and laughed at her. The service had been rude up until then as well. Tea was horrible (cheap) and not hot enough. We were given very small amounts of food. I can't believe they have such good reviews!

Had the Chicken yoghurt kebab, served on a toasted pita bread and side of flavorful rice and dressed salad. Delicious and very reasonably priced for the portion size. Quick service and friendly staff. Combination of indoor and outdoor seating.. very convenient for cyclists passing through.

I've seen this cafe for many years, probably the last standing business in Strood high street from the last 25 years. I decided to visit finally. The service was brilliant, they were super attentive to my personal requests and made me feel welcome even though they were closing soon and the restaurant at this time was near empty. I was never rushed or made to feel I should hurry up! The owner Ramo acknowledged that he hadn't seen me before and recommended some popular choices. My personalised Turkish omelette took longer than usual to prepare and I could tell they took their time to ensure it was cooked to perfection, which it was! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will visit again. Ramo even asked me to sample their tomato based chilli garnish which was a homemade delight! This is a loving family run business who put quality first, hence why they have been around so long! A must visit and certainly one of Strood's secret gems.

Went here for afternoon tea for my birthday with family. There were 13 of us and we had the room upstairs. I couldn't fault it. Sandwiches, scones and cakes were lovely and there was plenty for everyone. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A lovely coffee shop and would definitely recommend it.

My new favourite place! I have lived in Rochester for nearly 3 years and can’t believe I haven’t found it until recently. Love the mochas and the toastiest are delicious! My favourite sweet has to be the Apple Pie heated with warm custard. There was a lovely lady called Margaret working when I popped in, very friendly and welcoming. Definitely the best coffee house in strood.

Came in for a treat and that's exactly what I got. Asked about vegan options other than beans on toast and ended up with a vegan cheese and sausage toastie. Great amount of cheese, hot all the way through, 10/10 breakfast. Had a soya latte which was extra hot just as I asked. Will be coming back

Initial impressions are good with friendly staff and warm modern welcoming atmosphere. Everything was clean and well presented. Additional seating including booths and sofas can be found upstairs, and, if you fancy a long restful stay there are a number of board games upstairs to while away the time with the family. Each table, at least upstairs, has a self service jar of water, the large water jars have a tap on them for easy service. The prices are very reasonable, we had three mini breakfasts, toast and bread, two coffees, Apple juice and two of the cakes all for under 20 pounds. A range of ice creams was also available at a reasonable price, at the time of this review a double scoop on a waffle cone was £2.55. the mini breakfast at £3.50 was well presented and included sausage, bacon, beans, a single hash brown and a choice of scrambled or peached egg. A range of handmade cakes with speciality coffee is available every day for 3.95 as a deal. A Loyalty card is also used.

Hi I wanted to share my recent experience at your restaurant. Unfortunately, I encountered a very aggressive service from the guy short hair in front . It felt like he doesn’t care about my order at all. On top of that, the food I received was served cold and had a horrible taste. I was really disappointed with the overall experience. I hope you can address these issues to ensure a better dining experience for your customers. Thank you.

Here at 8.30 wednesday morning. No crowds as expected. Very polite and helpful staff. Very reasonable prices and the meals were excellent. Toilets available. The only problem is it's cash only but many cafes are nowadays. There is a cash machine opposite the cafe, so everyone happy. I highly recommend Rest Awhile.

Hello, I am new in the area been looking for a place to buy my take away food I been googling many place which is come back with a very good review so I went there and having my first order Firstly food wasn’t what I been expecting it was tasting like juts warm up in microwave, Secondly there is a guy which he was very rude I was explaining my self about the food and he just says he don’t care you can go somewhere else bye bye, So I don’t know it’s just me or someone else had same experience! Wouldn’t go back Avoid this place

Myself, a pensioner, and my daughter went for lunch today. The 2 of us ordered Scampi. Came out rock solid and over cooked. We Politely asked for one of them to be replaced. Waitress was polite and took it back to the chef. The chef bought out a new portion which looked completely different to the first. He began making nasty comments about us ‘moaning’; leant across the table and got very close our faces in an intimidating manor. When we went to pay, after feeling very uncomfortable and mentioned it to the lady at the till. She then became incredibly rude, raising her voice at us both when we had been very polite. Then the chef came back and started raising his voice at us too. The lady then told me to leave and that I was banned from the cafe. I have been going there for many years and am very upset but this experience.

A good place to get fuelled up for the day before hopping on a train a Strood. Service was fast, but the restaurant was very quiet. Food is good value and good quality. I must come back for the Piggyz Challenge 😋

Food was OK, nothing to write home about. Cheap sausages, found a bit of gristle in the first bite. Bacon and eggs were fine though. Thick bacon 🥓 coffee isn't nice. Staff all seemed nice. The tables were dirty and pepper shakers em0ty had to find one on another table. Sauce bottles on table and menu were sticky. Funny smell in the restaurant area.

Food is good but very plain inside. Lacking coziness in my opinion. But it's ok I guess if you want a quick breakfast or lunch

We waited 2 hours for a delivery. When I phoned after 1 hour, I was told to contact Just Eat as our food had been prepared for a while. Obviously that's not possible, and obviously the food was cold when it arrived. Never again.

Had to go to counter to get cutlery after food brought to table All five staff take very regular cigarette breaks at the same time, leaving the restaurant unmanned Half of the menu is unavailable Saucer is not provided with tea, where are you supposed to put the used teabag? Tables and sauce bottles, salt, vinegar and pepper shaker all sticky Radio turned too loud This restaurant would get 5 stars if these issues are addressed Good quality food. Shame about the cleanliness.

Not a bad breakfast, quick to serve. Staff friendly. The only negative thing I could say is the Coffee is not great but we went for grub not coffee. I go to Caffe Nero for great coffee and Top Munch for grub 😋

We went completely by the reviews customers gave online .Well unfortunately we got pretty disappointment.The restaurant was dirty,Dirty dishes on almost every table ,All the condements were greassy and stuck to our hands,high chairs for babies were absolutely dirty and smelled horrend.food was quick but gave us a dodgy belly.I had one bite of the sausages and immediatly stopped ,can't explain the taste .The worst sausages i've ever had.It must be a family run business as it was very loud chatting and shouting with other family members in the middle of the café.Never experienced anything like it,massively unprofessionaly. People stay away from this place.NOT RECOMMENDED at all.

Fantastic find in Strood, the coffee was delicious I think it was John Street coffee so great they supporting local suppliers! My smoked salmon poached eggs on crusty toast was the perfect start to my weekend. The staff were super friendly and efficient as this place was super busy. Really good value for money. Just wished I had room for the delicious looking tiramisu. You can sit outside too. 10/10

I popped in here while our car was getting new tyres fitted. I meant to have a coffee but I was hungry so why not eat, I thought. I got set breakfast 1. It was all perfectly prepared and very tasty. The flat white and espresso coffees I had were excellent too. The vibe was definitely friendly and very welcoming. I was alone but there were various friends meeting up for coffees, food, and a chat. This place is perfectly named. I'll visit again. You should go too.

Situated centrally in Strood, it is part of the new pedestrianised zone and in addition to the indoor seating, the cafe has outdoor seating which is still a good 20-30 yards away from the traffic. Inside it is both clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly, the food is very good and the prices are quite reasonable. There are four cafes in central Strood but this one is, in my opinion, easily the best one of them.

Best Breakfast I’ve had in years. Daughter and I popped in for takeout bacon sandwich couple of weeks ago. Back in as Strood so came in for late breakfast. Bubble was beautiful and they’d even cut the stalk bit off the tomatoes so you could eat the whole thing. Top Notch!

Got my order wrong and didn’t offer refund, chef did bring over some stuff to try and resolve situation but ultimately the breakfast needed to be replaced, sauces tasted out of date. Not customer friendly, also order from menu not the board as they don’t match and you won’t get a replacement. Young staff member gave me bad looks due to my complaint so overall really poor experience

I am a regular in there and have a cooked breakfast 2 to 4 times a week and I can highly recommend it. The food is excellent. Very clean with good prices and excellent and pleasant staff, keep up the good work. I travel to the hospital regularly and always recommend it the the transport staff for their breaks.
