not very big beach in a cozy bay with everything you need: water sports rental, bars, pedestrian zone, good sandy beach with gradual entry into the water. I didn't see any lifeguards or common changing rooms, but there are showers. Sunbeds under umbrellas are paid from 7 euros per day. The sun sets here earlier because there are mountains on all sides
Igor I — Google review
Great atmosphere but the beach itself wasn't for us because there are slippery rocks in it.
Bardocz A — Google review
Very nice beach! Relaxing atmosphere, warm water and gold sand! Lovely!
Adela T — Google review
Biggest beach in Bali. Aquashoes recommended as you'll find many rocks at the entrance in the water. Variable prices for sunbeds. You can find the pair at 10€ in front of Karma cafe. The service is also good.
Toni — Google review
The beach is very big. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrella's, but there is a lot of space between them compared to other beaches. The sand is fine, there are no stones or rocks. There are many bars on the beach. It was comparable better to other beaches here in Bali.
Raluca J — Google review
The longest beach of 4 beaches in Bali. You have to be early to get your umbrella and sunbed 🫠lot of lounges and restaurants to eat, nice promenade
Anna D — Google review
One of the best beaches we have been to in Bali. It is spacious, have enough sun beds and plenty of food and drink options. Also, a supermarket and some stores on the boulevard. All the sun beds are for rent for around 10€ for a full day.

Varkotopos Beach is a small, sandy bay nestled at the base of a steep hill, making it an ideal spot for families with children. While the beach may be small, it offers shallow and clear waters suitable for young kids. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as free Wi-Fi, beachside service from nearby tavernas, and a floating aquapark. However, the beach tends to get crowded later in the day. Despite limited shaded areas, sun umbrellas are available for rent.
Varkotopos Beach: A Hidden Gem in Bali Varkotopos Beach is a hidden gem nestled in the charming village of Bali, Crete. The crystal-clear waters, soft sandy shores, and stunning cliffside views make it a must-visit destination. The beach is relatively small but offers a peaceful and intimate atmosphere. The shallow waters are perfect for swimming and wading, while the calm conditions make it ideal for snorkeling and exploring the vibrant marine life. The surrounding cliffs provide a dramatic backdrop, adding to the natural beauty of the area. The nearby tavernas offer delicious local cuisine and refreshing drinks, making it easy to spend a whole day relaxing and enjoying the sun. The friendly locals and laid-back vibe contribute to the overall charm of Varkotopos Beach. If you're looking for a secluded and picturesque beach experience, Varkotopos is definitely worth a visit. It's a perfect escape from the crowds and a chance to truly unwind in the beauty of nature.

"This is probably the worst place on the entire island. The whole beach is completely covered with paid sunbeds, where for a mere 20 euros you can get yourself a luxurious 2 square meters of personal space – right next to a crowd of other people.
Kujme P — Google review
Quite a small beach filled with sunbeds. There is a floating parcours course available for kids. 15€ for a full day for each kid. This beach is leased rocky but I did manage to cut my feet on something sharp underwater . So, be careful.
King — Google review
Our main beach close to the accomodation during off season. There is always a spot and water is great to get in (sandy surface). You can take a tiny hike to see the other side of the larger touristi beach ;-)
Gerrit K — Google review
The beach is quite small, and crowded with too many sunbeds. The sand is fine and the sea is quite shallow. But as you advance a few meters, there are rocks and stones, so you have to be careful. There are plenty of showers and a few changing rooms. There are a few bars across the street. The staff is nice and helpful.
Raluca J — Google review
Very small narrow beach completely full of expensive sunbeds for no aperant reason.
Mladen P — Google review
Completely full of sun-beds, nowhere to pitch up yourself without having to pay 🥲 very crowded, sun-beds are packed in close together … worst beach we’ve visited…it’s a shame because the actual beach itself is gorgeous
Holly J — Google review
Probably the most beautiful beach in Bali. Even if most of it is covered by sunbeds, it's the only one where you can find some space for a towel.

Karavostasi Beach is a tranquil pebbly beach located near the town of Aghios Nikolaos in Crete. Surrounded by olive groves, it offers a quiet escape and is mainly frequented by locals. The area boasts clean and cold waters, making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Despite its small size, the beach can get crowded during summer, so arriving early is recommended to secure a sunbed.
Best beach in Bali if you like calmer beaches with clear water for snorkeling. Popular among families with kids but if you lay in grass area there is quite calm vibe. You can hike nearby rocks or swim to cave beaches if you are a good swimmer. Clean toilets and good showers and very helpful guy in charge of the sunbeds that cost 10 dollars a set. :) honestly my favourite beach in Crete
Markéta V — Google review
A wonderful little bay with incredible views and amazing waters. Especially in the afternoon they are unique. It is worth visiting and do not miss a mask for snorkeling, if you like exploring the seabed. In the afternoon you meet octopuses that move fearlessly on the rocks of the seabed as well as squids that take their walks, starfish and all kinds of fish!! Do not forget to visit the picturesque taverns that are there. Excellent people with kindness and respect. and everything we tried was unexpectedly delicious and fresh!
John P — Google review
Our best beach in central Crete. Protected from the northern wind/waves. Good water clarity (excepted on the very shore) and amazing underwater variety. Fishes, turtles, rocks, cliffs, caves, it has it all. Daily sunbeds set at 10€ (July) / 15€ (August), unfortunately in the range for Cretan beaches. The beach itself gets quite crowded in high season (very limited place for extra private umbrellas/towels). More for sea-lovers than beach-lovers, maybe. Various boats/pedal boats/kayaks to rent.
Nicolas C — Google review
Just beautiful! Sunbeds and umbrella are 15€, here is a beautiful tavern to eat lunch. And the water is clean, clear and with a lot of fish to see when snorkeling
Ana M — Google review
Beautiful beach. Clean sea, clear water. Beautiful rocks nearby. Set of two sunbeds and umbrella 10 euros.
Анна Т — Google review
A small, wild beach with amazing views! Peaceful, beautiful, and perfect for escaping the crowds.
Adela T — Google review
Beautiful place but it would not be comfortable for you if you didn’t want to rent sun lounger- it’s almost on the all territory. Not big area for children to play with sand. In water a lot of renting stuff- boats and catamarans. Parking is a little up from the beach.
Kate B — Google review
Really nice place but one thing I would say is that there are so many people and especially near the shore it is very crowded. It is okay to find a sun bed in the morning but in the afternoon it gets VERY crowded. When you get further out to sea it is lovely with clear waters and LOADS of fish. Highly recommend but visit in the morning in order to get a sun bed and avoid big crowds. There are 2 cafes one is a taverna where it would be ideal to get lunch or dinner. One is a cafe that does milkshakes and plenty of ice lolly’s. There isn’t much litter in the sea either with is refreshing to see. Come here mainly if you want to snorkel since it is very good! There is very limited parking especially in the afternoon so arrive before 10:30. We have been to many beaches around the Cretan coast but homely this was the bed one!!

Mambo Beach Bar & Restaurant is an extraordinary establishment in the area, offering an unmatched dining experience. Patrons who have explored other nearby options cannot help but return to Mambo every day for dinner. The diverse menu boasts an array of delectable dishes such as sushi, seviche, Mambo salad, gyros plate, and ribs that are all truly exceptional. Additionally, their local wine selection perfectly complements these delightful meals.
Great experience! You shouldn’t miss this restaurant while in Bali! We loved everything – congratulations to the owner! The music, the setup, the view, the cocktails, the food… all perfect! They even have a variety of Greek cocktails, which we found original and refreshing to discover as a dedicated section on the menu. The octopus was so fresh, and the herbs the chef used created a burst of flavors in my mouth! We had the pancakes for dessert, a sweet finale that didn’t disappoint. Whoever gives this place less than 4 stars surely doesn’t know the taste of good food!
Roxana S — Google review
We had a wonderful experience at Mambo. The pizza was absolutely delicious, and we enjoyed every bite. At first, we weren’t completely happy with the service, but the staff quickly made up for it with their warm and attentive attitude. We also ordered coffee, and it was some of the best we've ever had. The waiter even had fun trying to guess the designs on our cups, which was a nice touch. To top it off, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary fruit platter. All in all, a lovely experience. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much!"
Bla N — Google review
Nice view and food but poor service. Advantages: The food is awesome as well as the view. Had a great time there. Disadvantages: Some waiters offer a very poor service quality, bring wring orders etc.
Arina Z — Google review
Lovely looking place with great views and very attentive and friendly staff. The food pretty decent not the best but all in all well worth a visit or two. We did go twice on our stay.
Greg J — Google review
I recommend this place to everyone who's visiting Bali/Crete! The waiters were always nice and friendly and the food was great! If you like Sushi, try the Dragon Roll! It's phenomenal! Moreover, the atmosphere was always relaxed and you have a great view over the ocean 😊
Swansh — Google review
Unfortunately our experience here was disappointing, especially when it came to the food. The seafood platter tasted very cheap and bland, with no flavor apart from large amounts of garlic poured over it, which was unappealing. I also ordered the classic beef bowl and it was just plain beef on sticky rice with no flavor or sauce. The menu said it came with a “Japanese sauce,” but when I asked, they said they only had teriyaki sauce (which was listed for a different beef bowl) and even that wasn’t very good. We could barely eat the seafood platter because it was so poorly done, which was really shocking. Service also added to the frustration — we asked for the bill and waited 20 minutes, only to be told after following up that we had to pay up front, which they just seemed to expect us to know. The only highlight of the evening was one of the singers performing, who was genuinely enjoyable, and I will say the interior design of the restaurant is very aesthetic. Overall though, the food quality and service left us very underwhelmed, and I wouldn’t recommend it for a meal.
Kyla S — Google review
It was okay overall - a bit too much waiting, but the beautiful view made up for it. We had Gyros and greek salad - was delicious.
Maria C — Google review
The staff are incredibly polite and welcoming, which makes the whole experience feel warm and relaxed. The food is delicious and freshly prepared, perfect for enjoying by the sea. The sunbeds are soft and very comfortable, ideal for spending a long, lazy day at the beach. The beach itself is lovely, with fine sand and crystal-clear water. For some extra fun, there are also inflatable water slides in the sea, which make it a great spot not only for relaxation but also for a bit of play and excitement.

The restaurant Λίγο Βουνό Λίγο Θάλασσα in Crete offers a delightful dining experience with its young and amiable staff. The menu boasts delectable dishes served in generous portions, all prepared with utmost care and devotion. The prices are justified by the quality of food provided.
What an amazing little beach find! We were initially recommended the taverna next to this but this one looked busier so we opted for here and so glad we made that choice. It was the best tuna salad I have ever tasted in my life and the view was stunning. We stayed for a while after the food at the atmosphere was so pleasant. Well worth the hilly hike to get too! Or you can get a taxi close by / train.

Thank You very much. Food Was delicious, family atmosphere, and the present at final Was amazing. The best seafood on Bali, atmosphere and view. Greetings for owner and whole crew. That Was amazing experience. 🙂
Dawid Z — Google review
There’s one golden rule you should always remember: if a restaurant menu has more than two languages, be cautious. We didn’t check carefully before sitting down, and when we noticed this place had menus in five languages, we already had a bad feeling. Unfortunately, our instincts were spot on. By Greek standards, this taverna is below average — it single-handedly lowers the national average of Greek cuisine. We ordered fried calamari, fried zucchini, and octopus, all of which were overly greasy, clearly showing poor oil temperature control. The portions were also disappointingly small. I’ve been coming to Greece every year and have eaten at countless tavernas, often ordering the same dishes — but this one was by far the worst. The only reasons it probably has such high ratings are its nice location and the two adorable cats wandering around. At least the view was pleasant enough to make up for some of the disappointment. But overall — don’t bother. Not worth it.
Yicheng K — Google review
Excelent service, superb beach. The food is excellent and the people are very welcoming. The beach allows you to access plenty of small caves and you can also have a small hike to have a beutiful view! Would recommend 10 out of 10.
Ioan D — Google review
We ordered a tuna salad and pizza, the food was good, it was enough for two, the iced latte and frappe were also not bad, the food was brought within 10-15 minutes, the coffee right away, we paid 30 euros for everything. The cafe is right above the beach, close and the prices are affordable.
Яна Р — Google review
One of the best fish we’ve ever eaten! The owner showed us his fresh fish before we decided. To be honest, I don’t like fish myself but even I found it tasty. Great service, not intrusive. The view is stunning & the atmosphere is relaxing. Would recommend. Thank you :)

Upon arriving in Crete, we headed to Taverna Golden Sun, a restaurant that amazed us. Its prime location allowed us to dine with our feet in the water, creating a truly exotic atmosphere. The menu boasted simple yet delectable dishes, including pork steak, octopus, and seabass. The waitstaff were extremely friendly and provided excellent service throughout our visit. Furthermore, the breathtaking view of the sea added to the overall ambience of this remarkable establishment.
A restaurant that bribes you to come back by delivering large portions of extremely tasty and well priced food in more than acceptable time. I had a chicken schnitzel, others had the fish of the day, calamari, spaghetti and cheese. I recommend this eating establishment if you are near to this part of northern central Crete.

Good vibe, good service and decent food. The Chicken schnitzel was juicy and flavorful. The sea breem was on the smaller side but tasty. The octopus was very good!

As soon as we arrived in Crete, we went to lunch in this restaurant and we are delighted. The restaurant is very well located and we could have lunch "feet in the water". The dishes are simple but very good. The waiters are very friendly. The view of the restaurant is very exotic You can not visit Bali without stopping in this restaurant.
