The busy, 27-hole golf centre of De Batouwe, rated 3-1/2 stars, sits right alongside the impressive Amsterdam-Rhine canal just outside the historic town of Tiel. Each of the nines contains its fair share of water hazards, holes where some degree of undulation has been introduced, tightish short par-4's, excellent greens and overall good maintenance. All in all a very pleasant (and busy) golf centre, although in winter the clay soil can make the course a bit soggy following heavy rainfalls.

I really love this course. The full course is really challenging. The 9 holes practice course is nice hospitable course and great place to learn golfing.

We are staying in Zoelen for 3 weeks and are from Canada. On day two we went on a lovely stroll to Kasteel Soelen. Stunning pathways and of course the Castle and surrounding precious, gorgeous gardens. By chance, we ran into the owner Thomas Jansen and asked him to please take a photo of my husband and his castle...not knowing at the time he is the owner! lol Thomas was extremely gracious and took our photo and actually invited us in for a coffee/tea! We were delighted to take him up on his generous offer. He gave us the incredible 4000 year old history of his family home...we were gob smacked! Please don't hesitate to visit this beautiful area. Thank you Thomas for the unforgettable hospitality and kindness xx
