Mars Cheese Castle is a renowned cheese shop and bakery in Kenosha, known for its assortment of meats, spreads, and small souvenir store. Kenosha itself is famous for the Mars Cheese Castle and other attractions like the Bristol Renaissance Faire and its electric streetcar. The castle offers a unique bloody mary recipe dating back to the early 1980s that promises a flavorful journey with two different kinds of heat in every sip.
Mars Cheese Castle is a must-stop for anyone traveling through Wisconsin with even a passing interest in local flavor. The selection of Wisconsin-themed gifts is impressively broad—from fun, quirky souvenirs and t-shirts to authentic local goods that make for perfect take-home gifts or personal treats. The store is beautifully laid out and makes it easy to explore both the novelty and the genuinely artisanal. What truly blew me away, though, were the cheese curls. I’m not claiming they’re the best in the world—I haven’t tried every cheese curl out there—but they are, without question, the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly crunchy, bold in flavor, and oddly addictive. The staff here also deserves high marks. Friendly, efficient, and happy to share recommendations without being pushy, they added a sense of warmth to the experience that made the stop feel more like a visit to a local institution than a tourist trap. Highly recommended.

I don't enough words to explain how awesome this place is. An incredible variety of not only cheeses but so many other things: candy, shirts, snacks, condiments, goofy stuff, cards and stickers, beer and alcohol, fresh bakery items. In addition, they have a bar area and a little restaurant. I got the "classic "grilled cheese, which had actual cheddar cheese in it, not American, and when I did the cheese pull, it was about 2 feet long, which was cool. It came with fries that were perfect and I ordered a side of bacon, which was thick and crispy, just how I like it. You can have your picture taken with a cow, a mouse and on a throne! Fun place, even if you don't like cheese!

A fun stop, but I wish they would have all of the local products labeled. Many of the things they have (like the jams and the jellies and crackers) are from other areas of the country. I’m from a town where we produce a lot of local products, and so the stores label them. Even the grocery stores! Because I really want to shop local. It’s Clear the beer was local, But I would’ve loved all of the local cheeses to have been labeled as such. And if they had other local products, just put a big sign up that says “local” because I really want to support local farmers etc. All that said, this is a lot of fun (As you can see from the photos). They also had a pretty amazing wine selection, and they had some local beverages as well, and again, it would’ve been great if they had a big sign up that said “buy local!” They had a mix-and-match for the local beer. Which I love! So we brought home a mixed six pack. We also brought home some of the cheese that they had offered for tasting, which seemed very local. And I love that they have the cheese to taste as well. Restrooms were clean. My husband had a Reuben and he said the pastrami was good, but they didn’t have it on the correct bread. A Reuben should be on rye bread. They had an alternative.

Mars Cheese Castle was founded in October 1947 by Mario Ventura Sr. and Martha Ventura in a renovated old school building in Kenosha County, Wisconsin. The name "Mars" comes from Mario's first name (Mario ≈ Mars) and Ventura's mother's Italian concept of a castle, so "Cheese Castle" also implies both "castle" and "cheese kingdom." Initially a small cheese shop, it expanded and relocated (the original shop was rebuilt after a fire in 1957). It wasn't until 2011, during the reconstruction along Interstate 94, that the current, more castle-like location was built. It has become an iconic roadside attraction and symbol of Wisconsin cheese culture. 💫 The atmosphere: The exterior resembles a small castle, and the large sign is easily visible from the highway. Upon entering, the aroma of cheese, bread, and sausage is breathtaking, instantly making you feel like you've arrived in "cheese lover's paradise." 🧀 Must-see Highlights: • Over 700 cheese varieties! In every flavor and shape, you'll be constantly thinking, "I want to try that too!" "That looks so special!" • Restaurant + Bar Area: Sit down with a Wisconsin beer and a Reuben sandwich or cheese bread – it feels like a little luxury during your trip. • Gift Area: Perfect for giving family and friends some "only-in-Wisconsin" souvenirs. 📸 Photo Tip: The castle exterior + the cheese display area + the bar stools – this three-way combination is a must! Remember to choose a sunny day; the reflections off the cheese display windows are beautiful. ⚠️ Weekends can be crowded, so leaving early might be easier. While cheese lovers will love it, if your group isn't a cheese fan, you can order hot food or drinks from the restaurant so everyone can find something they like. Remember to bring cooler or freezer bags when buying cheese, especially if it's summer or a long drive.

We went to the Cheese Castle on our way to where we were going for a business trip. There are so many types of cheese and beef sticks for sale inside of the store, you could spend hours in there finding new different kinds. There are also a lot of cool decorations inside of the place, and the gift shop is nice too

Awesome place to get a variety of Wisconsin cheeses. I chose to stick with cheese from MARS CHEESE CASTLE since that's where we were shopping. They had a few cheese samples out to try and each one was delicious. More than just cheese: lots of other grocery items, ice cream, souvenirs, etc. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but not overcrowded. Checked out in under five minutes. All employees were pleasant and helpful. A must-see if you're headed to Kenosha!

Impromptu stop while in Wisconsin. I’ve been coming here for years. My favorite place for cheese. Such a huge variety. I always try something different. That’s what’s to cool about Mars. They always have different samples of cheese to try. Or if not already available, they will give you a slice of cheese you are wanting to taste. Yummy 😋 😋 Today’s purchase was Smoked Mozzarella, Bellavitano Cheese, Sartori Sharp Cheddar, Havarti, and the all time famous WI String Cheese 🧀. Such a cool spot. It also has a deli and a bar- restaurant. A nice selection of specialty beers and sodas too. A must check out right off interstate 🛣️.

Fabulous cheese shop, tavern and restaurant. Easy to get to. Lots for kids and adults. Cute merchandise. Seems like hundreds of cheese options. Cheese and bakery samples. Great selection of local beers and liquors. We ate at the cafe. Cheese curds and chili were delicious!

Restaurant

The Brat Stop is a well-known establishment that has been serving brats, beers, and cheese to travelers since 1961. Located conveniently off -94, this roadside eatery offers a taste of Wisconsin with its regional American restaurant and cheese shop. It's also famous for hosting live music and featuring an outdoor beer garden with a friendly ambiance. Known as The Bratfather, it's a Kenosha institution where locals and visitors enjoy the casual atmosphere and filling menu.
Brat Stop was so delicious just like I remember. Had appetizers combo and brat with German potato salad. Yum! We are very full. Lots of to go containers. Oh ya! That’s a Spotted Cow on tap. Best part if it all!

The brat stop is one of those iconic places along the Wisconsin/Illinois border, when the brats arrived they looked so good I forgot to take a few photos of them, LOL, that being said they were excellent, the onion rings were crisp and hot and the beer was cold, so yea it was a good day

Brat Stop is our absolute favorite spot. honestly, the best hot dog place of my life! Even though we live in the Chicago suburbs, we don’t mind driving all the way to Wisconsin just for their amazing hot dogs. The cheese curds, onion rings, and hot dogs are all fantastic, and the spacious, family friendly atmosphere makes every visit so easy and enjoyable. Every time we come, the staff are always so kind and provide perfect service, especially Kiana, thank you so much for making our visits even better!

The restaurant had a great family atmosphere. There were lots of families that stopped into dine and the food was really good. I look forward to coming back and trying the other brats on the menu.

I went for a wrestling show, didn’t eat the food, it’s Wisconsin, everything has meat and cheese. Very spacious and looks like a fun place for hanging out. Bathrooms are clean and the bartender made a pretty good margarita.
Flannel M — Google review
Absolutely one of my favorite places to get your brat and some wisconsin flavors on your way between Milwaukee and Chicago. We got a brat and cheese curds and grilled cheese and ate ALL OF IT because it was soooo good. Then we went to the little store that’s part of the building and also got a Kringle!!! Yes, it’s a totally worthwhile pit stop when driving through here on the freeway. You can even get a plate with two brats and a side. The fried cheese curds were amazing 🤩
Richard L — Google review
So, I was hungry for dinner. Seeing as I like to support local establishments, I decided on the Brat Stop. This was a good choice. Looking at the menu, i knew I was in for a good meal. It is simple - standard bar appetizers and brats. Sure, they have burgers and salads, but it isn't called the Burgers and Salads Stop, is it? I decided to get a 20-oz Spotted Cow for a drink, along with my standard two waters. For the app, I got the small cheese curds, and for my brats, I got the Two Brat Plate with the traditional and cheddarwurst. The drinks came out in a timely manner, and that beer went down so smoothly. Wow... The curds were out shortly thereafter, and they were delicious. Not too heavily breaded, and the ranch/dill dips were a great accompaniment. My brats came out right as I was finishing my curds, and they not only looked good, they tasted great! The traditional was a pretty solid Brat- spiced just right and had a decent amount of char. The cheddarwurst was full of cheese and tasty as well. The potato salad was creamy and the sauerkraut and grilled onions were the perfect consistency for toppings. Overall, it was a decent meal. When I'm in the area again, I'll be back!

Found this place by accident, was in town for work and wanted to bring home cheese curds. This came up in search and was amazing- deep fried curds and the best Brat I've ever had. Plus the vibe was super chill.

America's Action Territory in Pleasant Prairie is a family entertainment center offering a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities for all ages. Indoor attractions include laser tag, arcades, bumper cars, and the award-winning Hologate VR experience. Outdoor activities feature pristine mini-golf courses, go-karts, bumper boats, and batting cages. The park is open year-round with weather-dependent outdoor activities.
Maybe it's the nostalgia, or the smell of the go karts, but this place is awesome. I still remember it from when I was a kid, but it's definitely revamped some. The go karts are a good time! The arcade was nice and all the games worked, the prices were not ridiculously expensive and it wasn't overly crowded. We can't wait to check out mini golf next time. The laser tag looked really fun also. Even with several birthday parties the place didn't feel over crowded or too busy. It was a beautiful day and the go kart track is still super fun!! If you're staying for a bit the wristband is worth it. The prize section was nice, and I know it's not a money maker for them but almost 50 points for one sour patch kid did seem a little steep. Combine points if you can for better odds. The arcade specials were pretty decent.
Helen E — Google review
The place was great, super fun and has many different things from other Arcade places. The option to have a unlimited bracelet was completely worth it, you can spend hours there and not get bored. And the prices are really good.
Leonel E — Google review
Nice place with a lot of activities! The golf was challenging. The go karts were fun, but a little slower than what we are used to. Try the bumper boats and arcade.
Joseph V — Google review
Action Territory is such a great destination for families, groups, and really anyone looking for a fun day out. There’s truly so much to do and it’s easy to spend hours here without running out of options. The pavilion rental is a huge plus, especially for birthdays, gatherings, or team outings, and the pricing across the board is very fair compared to similar places. What really makes this place stand out, though, is how family friendly and ADA accessible it is. The grounds and attractions are designed so that everyone can be included, which makes a big difference when planning something for a group of all ages and abilities. You don’t always see that level of accessibility at entertainment venues, and it shows that they’ve put thought into making the experience enjoyable for everyone. Highly recommend Action Territory for a fun, affordable, and inclusive outing!

Tenuta's Deli is a charming Italian grocery store located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Established by John Tenuta in 1950, this family-owned deli offers a wide array of unique and rare items such as imported cheeses, candies, and hand-sliced gabagool. Over the years, it has expanded to become an Italian wonderland with an extensive selection of pastas, deli meats, cigars, wines, liquors and aperitifs.
It's an absolutely amazing store. At first glance from the outside, I thought it was just an ordinary store. But when I entered, I found that there were so many things inside, ranging from various wines, cigars to cheese, as well as delicious food, all kinds of mouth-watering desserts. The food was truly delicious and the on-site preparation was very fresh. The snacks were also my favorite. It's truly amazing. It's a hidden gem store.
Sianna L — Google review
Don't bother with the paninis. They are so small and barely filled, they are certainly NOT work $6.99. My husband ordered 3 different paninis and then drove home, an hour away. If we weren't so far away, I would have had him turn back to return them! My chicken one with cheese and mushroom pesto had barely any pesto in it - I certainly didn't taste it - and not enough chicken (very thin slices)(see photo). It actually was so dry I needed to add ranch (in the picture it looks moist, but oddly, it wasn't)! My daughter's and husband's had only a small amount of each ingredient as well (my daughter said that one bite was all she had of lettuce and red peppers that were in her's) . I honestly wouldn't pay $3 for the sandwiches, let alone the $6.99 they charge! We were all so disappointed. Tenuta's should be ashamed of themselves - these were not sandwiches worth selling!
Karl F — Google review
We love this store. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The carry a wide range of pasta, Italian specialties, cheeses and their own brands of homemade pasta, sauces, meatballs and grated cheeses. They have wonderful prepared dishes and sandwiches, deli items and yummy bakery items.

The staff was great! The selection of Italian foods was amazing! You must go and try this local institution!

Went late Sunday morning and they were busy. Very good prices on cheese and sauces. The muffo- lotta was fresh, generously filled and the mid-size was more than enough for two. Large liquor selection, competitive pricing. If you need pasta, olive oil, and sauces be prepared to be overwhelmed. The staff is personable and very helpful.

What a great roadside attraction that is the heart of Americana. It feels very homegrown and community driven. Loved seeing the happy healthy animals (make sure to bring quarters if you want to give them snacks!) and that the produce sold in the farm stand was non GMO. This is a great place for little kids to have a fun time exploring and for the little guys to have a fun time with pumpkins twice their size. Also love to see signs that the farm stand accepted EBT/SNAP—such a great resource for low income people While you can spend money here, people can come without needing to spend money, which makes it a great option for low income families to enjoy

It was nice but everything was ala cart. $17 even if you were just going to the back to stand and watch your kids. How about a $10 watching pass. Plus $10 camel & pony rides, plus $10&up petting zoo , plus $15 haunted house.. plus. Got REALLY REALLY EXPENSIVE FAST.

Ron's Place is a long-standing pub in Southeastern Wisconsin known for its laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff. The restaurant offers a straightforward menu featuring comfort food favorites like the Famous 55 Burger and the New York Reuben. Guests can enjoy Long Island Iced Teas in various flavors and are recommended not to miss out on ordering curly fries. The place has a nostalgic vibe, reminiscent of past clubs in Kenosha and Racine, but with better food.
We were looking for a place to have an early dinner in Kenosha and came upon Ron’s Place. When we opened the car door, the heavenly smell of hamburgers hit us square in the nose! When we entered, we could tell it was a friendly place, music was playing, the bar was pretty full, and the tables were half full. We were greeted quickly by Alexandra D., our server, she told us the specials and got our drink order. She came back in just a few minutes, and we gave her our order, which was for Ron’s Original 5x5 Burger and an order of Mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were tasty, not greasy, and full of cheese. A short wait later, Alexandra shows up with two of the best-looking burgers we have ever seen. Our first bites told us our nose was right from the smell in the parking lot, and the look of the burger was on point because the taste was incredible. I am not positive, but I would say that they were fresh ground meat, and the burgers were formed when we placed our order. The taste was fresh, fresh, fresh! The prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent. We will be returning the next time we are in the area! We highly recommend Ron’s Place!

We're loyal fans of Ron's Place! Their bone-in wings and Ron's burger are our go-to favorites. And those Long Islands? Absolutely worth every penny 🙌. Shoutout to our amazing waitress Mikkala, who always delivers top-notch service with a smile! Very accommodating to my food allergy as well (not many restaurants are).

This was our first time coming here. Our party of 6 came in and went to the downstairs section of the restaurant, the waiter came and told us that we had to get up due to there being reservations made when the gentlemen upstairs clarified to us prior that its first come first serve in the downstairs section. The gentleman upstairs was nice enough to give us a table downstairs due to the circumstance, but we felt that the waitress downstairs that had told us to give up our table was ignoring our table on purpose. We waited for a substantial amount of time with no proper service given. Thankfully, the bartender took over and waited our table and gave us good service

Food and service are amazing. My complaint is regarding the fact that we ordered two long Islands, and one was flat and tasted awful. We let the waitress know, and she said "Well I don't work in the kitchen, so..."

McDonald's is a well-established fast-food chain famous for its burgers and fries. The brand was initially founded by Dick and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California, but it gained global recognition under the leadership of Ray Kroc. With over 30,000 restaurants worldwide, McDonald's has become one of the most iconic brands globally. Customers often praise the pleasant atmosphere and quality food at McDonald's locations, with some highlighting their positive experiences with friendly and efficient staff members.
This is one of the nicest McDonald’s I’ve been to. The service is great, they brought the food to our table. The staff was friendly and even gave me a free coffee.
Stephanie W — Google review
Went there and ordered on the kiosk and only ordered 4 sandwiches. I waited 20 minutes before going to the counter and they only had 2 of the sandwiches ready and I thought within a minute I’ll have my food. I ended up waiting another 30 minutes and the kitchen was just frozen and nothing was getting done. I ended up leaving without a refund and no food. It’s really disappointing to see the downfall of this location. I really hope they can comeback from this. Its a location that has there soda fountain open in the dining room and that is something all McDonalds should have again. Overall I think we should boycott this McDonald’s I’m not one to leave reviews often but when I do it’s because I believe I have to help the next person avoid what I had been through. McDonald’s is the best restaurant of all time but it’s most definitely past its prime that imo ended in 2023. However again I’m still a believer. McDonald’s really needs to lock in though the staff is not doing their job and management is sloppy. If you go to this location it’s gonna be hit or miss and for some people it’s worth the gamble but in the big 25 they are losing my confidence
NFL P — Google review
I usually don’t leave reviews, but my recent experience at this McDonald’s was frustrating enough to speak up. I went through the drive-thru around 3:00 AM on Thursday, and the woman working the window was extremely rude and unprofessional. Even though I had already placed my order, when I got to the window she asked in an annoyed tone, “Are you DoorDash or picking up a mobile order?” as if she had no idea what was going on. There was no greeting, no courtesy — just a consistently unpleasant attitude. This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered her either; she often has the same unfriendly, dismissive tone. Late-night service should still be respectful and professional, and unfortunately, this location has some serious work to do in that area.

Great food and in a timely manner. Everyone was polite and they got the order down right 100%

Went here late night because nothing else was open. My fish was cold and overall horrible. The sweet tea was NOT sweet. The fries and nuggets were good, however, they FORGOT the sauce. Smh. Will not return EVER....Oh wait I did call to tell them about my experience, and the manager replied it's super late, it's going to be some problems 🟡

Early this morning I was picking up a doordash order. Apparently between the time the order was placed and me arriving the menu switched to breakfast only. The person in the drive-thru window was SO rude. He just said " I dont have that order dont know what to tell you buddy. Bye" I pulled up to the drive thru window anyway because I dont know what to tell the customer. The same guy comes to the window and repeats himself just as rudely. I physically show him my phone with the order. He says "the computers must have gone done nothing I can do about that. " Then he FINALLY looks at the phone and sees that they aren't breakfast items. He says " It's breakfast time" and leaves it at that. I've never had someone this rude doing a pickup.

Arrived during the lunch hour on June 29. We ordered our food, and waited 40 minutes only to realize we'd been forgotten because they thought they already gave us our food. Despite being forgotten, they refused to give us a refund. My husband has decided we will never visit this McD again.

Bar & grill
Birchwood Grill is a rustic establishment offering traditional cuts of meat, burgers, and breakfast dishes. Additionally, they boast a fully stocked bar within their cozy lodge-inspired setting. On Mother's Day, they serve an exceptional buffet featuring delectable options such as prime rib, chicken, and various breakfast choices. The array of homemade desserts looks irresistible. Despite its bustling atmosphere, the staff is exceptionally professional and attentive to customer needs. Glasses are always filled promptly and plates cleared swiftly.
The Birchwood Grill restaurant is a gem. The food is delicious and the drinks exquisite. My most favorite part of the restaurant is the family that runs it and how they all strive to make everyone welcome. My second most favorite is how the decorations change for every season and holidays. The salad bar and buffet choices changes for the days of the week, and Fridays being my favorite day. If you meet Barb, ask her for a Bloody Maria (not Mary). Kudos to the family who work so hard in making the Birchwood Grill a phenomenal restaurant with a great atmosphere.

Been wanting to try the Friday fish buffet for a long time. It was incredible and was better then I expected. All the fried foods were delicious and crispy. the baked fish was perfectly seasoned. An abundance of choices and enough choices for those who don't eat seafood. The soup and salad bar was world class, you have to try the seafood salad. So many choices and everything was delicious. Can't wait to come back.

Love the Birchwood Grrill. Always an excellent touch with decorations. Love the atmosphere! Buffet has always been good. Super friendly staff with excellent service. Overall a charming place to get a bite to eat. Love their weekend buffets. If your in the area, treat yourself!

Always love this place! We did the salad bar which is phenomenal! Plenty of things to choose from too! Lots of other great daily specials too! Great bar looks of specialty drinks and service too! The Friday fish fry is pretty good too!

For the price of buffet ($20) the food options are decent and the food tastes amazing. Pretty much everything I put on my plate I ate and wanted more (especially their meats, soups and salads). The exception would be the pies. They are too sweet and the crumb toppings are just lumps of sugar. The service is done by nice ladies and gentlemen and the interior makes you feel like you are in some sort of cute cozy resort especially with those nice views from the windows: on one side it's mini-golf with trees, lawn and birds flying around, on the other - planted trees and bushes to block the noise and bland look of the highways

Our first time here. Definitely will have to give another shot instead of a sunday. The place was packed. They still had the AC on and it was freezing cold. Our waitress was MIA the majority of our visit.

A very neat restaurant with a lot of things going on. The front lobby has giant displays of seasonal decorations.. that are almost obstructive for things that are important to see.. like where you’re supposed to stand to get seated. We had the buffet but it was not made clear to us that there is a price difference between the breakfast buffet and lunch buffet because it was kind of scattered around. The buffet is only on Saturday and Sunday..but the food was good (there was a lot of it!) and the staff were very friendly and you could tell they really liked their jobs. There were two nice sized areas for private parties.. one had a baby shower going on..and the other was a birthday party. Also, there was a station for a “build your own Bloody Mary”. Good experience…definitely would recommend.

German restaurant
House of Gerhard is a charming old-world eatery that has been serving up German and American favorites, along with imported and domestic beers, since 1966. Located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, this European-themed restaurant has garnered recognition as the 2009 Wisconsin Restaurateur of the Year. With its warm and friendly atmosphere, it offers a diverse menu featuring German platters, schnitzels, pot roast, beef rouladen, and more.
If you're in Kenosha and hungry, House of Gerhard is where you need to be. The service is top-tier fast and friendly, and they keep the beer coming without you even having to ask. Now, let’s talk food. The Sauerbraten? Absolute perfection; tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The brats and wurst were spot on, with plenty of sauerkraut on the side. The Hofbrau was cold, crisp, and hit the spot, and their bar’s got some awesome beer steins that give the place some real character. Pro tip: Make a reservation. This place gets packed, and for good reason. Great food, great service, and a laid-back vibe. I’ll definitely be back, Prost 🍺😎
Joe K — Google review
If you're considering The House of Gerhard based on its reputation as the "best" German restaurant in town, don't be fooled. It's only the best because it’s the only German restaurant here—and that’s not saying much. Five of us were severely disappointed. Multiple people ordered the Schnitzel, one of their so-called specialties. The breading was as hard as cement, and the meat was so dry and tough it was nearly impossible to cut, let alone chew. It’s clear that meat wasn’t freshly prepared, and if it was "fried in butter," it must’ve been during a previous lifetime because none of us could tell. One person ordered the White Fish - It was overcooked, flavorless, dry, and very disappointing. At $30 a plate, you’d expect quality, or at least food you can chew. Instead, we got overpriced, inedible meals. Drinks, thankfully, were great (props to the bartender 😉), but the service was just average. Bottom Line: Don’t believe the hype. If you're after a good meal, you’ll want to look elsewhere. The prices here are high, and the food quality is LOW. The only reason I gave this place 1 ⭐️, is because 0 isn’t an option.

Food was excellent. Had the cordon Bleu schnitzel. Service was great as well. She found us a great bottle of wine which matched what we were looking for. Prices are reasonable atmoshere is authentic. This was our 4th dinner there. Each time was equally a great experience. If your looking for authentic German cuisine, Gerhardts fits the bill!

Updated Review - 10/23/24: Every time I eat at House of Gerhard, I am amazed at how incredibly delicious everything is! Once again, I had the Wednesday Special… Split Pea Soup… and the Bavarian Pot Roast with red cabbage and spaetzle. The service was friendly, fast, and super helpful. Everything was perfect! I would highly recommend eating here! You will NOT be disappointed. ———- Original Review: One of my favorite places to eat in Kenosha. The service is always incredible. Super friendly, helpful, and fast. Our waitress was great! The food at House of Gerhard is delicious every single time I go there. There is no way you can complain about not getting enough food. The salads, the soups, bread…. everything is delicious! I had the Bavarian Pot Roast with red cabbage and mashed potatoes and gravy. The pot roast was so tender, I didn’t even need a knife to cut it. I love going to the House of Gerhard. I can’t wait to back again.

The scallops were large, perfectly cooked and the best I've ever had! Baked French onion soup was outstanding! Salmon was prepared as requested. Sides were pickled red beets (like my mom used to make) and spaetzel. Homemade rolls and paté, and muffins. We enjoyed our personalized service. Our server was fun and helpful. This will be our "go to place" for future celebrations! Fun German atmosphere!

Always have a wonderful experience here. It can be a bit loud because of the size of the room, but a nice atmosphere, good service, and delicious food.

The food is great. I really enjoyed the appetizers. I'd say don't go on a busy day but I don't know what day that would be for them. I booked a reservation for 5 on a Monday evening at 6p.m. and it was packed. I appreciated that they accomodated our extra guest. The seating is quite cramped the way the tables are shaped and placed. There was an extremely large group that came in so we waited a rather long time for our drinks. It was extremely loud and overstimulating. So, I do not recommend to those that are overwhelmed easily. Over all, we enjoyed our first experience as it was new. I can't say we would return unless to eat outside at their patio.

Vintage, nostalgic restaurant that specializes in the best of traditional German food. The staff is dressed "in character" and it's just an unexpectedly fun place! The owners are kind and engaging. We would definitely go back!
