Blue Bell Creameries, often hailed as the best ice cream in Texas, has a rich history dating back to 1907 when it started as the Brenham Creamery Company. The company's name was changed to Blue Bell after facing financial difficulties and began producing ice cream in 1930. Visitors can explore the company's history at the Blue Bell Creameries Visitor Center and take a self-guided tour of the ice cream-making process.
If you are an ice cream lover, this place is for you. It’s got an observatory deck. It’s got taste test. It’s got the history etc. the place is nice and clean. The crew is nice and friendly and then There’s ice cream. For $1 a scoop you can try flavors like coconut, mango, triple chocolate, cotton candy etc. there’s place for you to sit and enjoy. It’s a kids friendly space. Lots of new stuff for the kids to learn. And mostly to enjoy the ice cream. The scoops are decent size. Parking was easy available but it was packed. Definitely a good place for kids. Do check them out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Blue Bell Creamery – Brenham, TX If heaven had a gift shop and smelled like fresh waffle cones, it would definitely be the Blue Bell Creamery in Brenham. 🍦 First off — the history tour? Cool doesn’t even begin to describe it. You walk through this old-school building that still feels like it could crank out milkshakes from the 1900s, and you can literally feel the nostalgia oozing out of the walls (along with the smell of sweet, sweet ice cream dreams). You get to learn how Blue Bell started as this small-town creamery, and somehow grew into the hero of every Texan’s freezer. Then there are the adorable little shops and the whole “Main Street in a Hallmark movie” vibe — it’s the kind of place where you expect someone to hand you a basket of wildflowers and say “y’all come back now.” But the real star of the show? The $1 SCOOPS. Yes, you read that right — a single dollar gets you a glorious scoop of the creamiest, dreamiest ice cream known to humankind. I almost asked if they made a mistake, but then I realized it’s just small-town Texas magic at work. Pro tip: don’t stop at one. Your diet can start tomorrow. All in all, Blue Bell Creamery isn’t just a tour — it’s a vibe. It’s part nostalgia trip, part sugar high, and 100% worth the drive. If joy had a flavor, it would taste like Homemade Vanilla served in a waffle cone for a buck. 💙🍨

This was a nice stop to stretch your legs at. My son found out this was on our way to Houston, and he said we had to go. We enjoyed watching them make the ice cream. Well, we enjoyed eating it even more. $1 a scoop was a great deal. I tried the coconut. I do not think they sell it in the stores. It was SO GOOD. If you are an ice cream lover, this is the place for you!
Jana H — Google review
First off, let me say how amazing this ice cream was! It was only a dollar per scoop. It was so creamy and the flavors were perfect. I had the blackberry cobbler. 10 out of 10 recommend. The butter pecan was really good too. You can tell this building has been around for a long time. You can feel the history there. It was a cute little day outing. They had a lot of teenagers serving the ice cream and they were very pleasant. Unfortunately, we came on the weekend so we didn't get to do the tour or see the factory side of it. I enjoyed learning about the history. I did not know it was a butter company before. There was plenty of free parking and a lot of seating.
Raven A — Google review
I took my family to visit the bluebell creamery on a hot date. What a beautiful surprise I feel like this place is a hidden gem! We were thrilled and so impressed with all the history this company holds. We learned so much about the process and transformation. Watching the process in front our eyes from the observation deck was one of the best parts of our experience. But, the one dollar ice cream was also a highlight of the trip! Make sure to visit the gift shop for the unique takeaways! We will try to make this a yearly trip for our family as it was a memory we will cherish!
Sade R — Google review
Even if you don’t care to see the factory, come for the ice cream! $1 scoops… I didn’t know any place like this still existed. The ice cream is very good. The service is great. The prices are unbeatable. There are some great displays and very interesting history.
Derrel H — Google review
Best deal ever — one dollar per scoop! Yep, you read that right… $1. And not those tiny scoops — these are massive, super generous, and packed with flavor. 🍦 and there’s a no added sugar vanilla option I loved! They’ve got unique flavors you won’t find anywhere else, and the best part? You can sample them all before deciding. Spoiler: you’ll want them all. It’s hidden on the second floor, but trust me — once you find it, you’ll be hooked. Absolute gem. 11/10, highly recommended! 🙌✨
Raisa T — Google review
Today it was my first time going to Blue bell Creameries, I had been wanting to go here for a while. It did not disappoint since it is a museum for blue bell. I truly enjoyed the experience including the baseball museum, the observation deck and the best part if you ask me of the museum which is the $1 scoop of ice cream! They were really good! This place is a must when visiting Brenham.

“What started as a shop has become a home.” -the owners of the three cool dogs Every morning at 6:30am, my German Shepherd, Waylon, makes sure I’m up. First come the little whimpers, then the cold nose against my cheek—his way of saying, “Come on, I’ve already picked our destination.” Without fail, he leads me straight to Mescalito Coffee. When we first showed up a few weeks ago, Waylon was still an unsocial pup in training. I wasn’t sure how it would go—but we were welcomed right away. Since then, I’ve watched him grow into himself, and somehow, I’ve grown into being “that guy” with the dog at the coffee shop. The funny part? At my age, I always pictured myself becoming a regular somewhere…but honestly, I thought it would be a bar—not a coffee shop. Yet here I am. And here’s the kicker: I didn’t even drink coffee before Waylon dragged me through those doors. Now it’s the first thing on my mind every morning (well, right after making sure my four-legged alarm clock gets his pup cup). There’s just something special about this place. The coffee, the people, the way it fits into our routine—it’s become more than just a stop on our walk. It’s become home base for mornings I didn’t even know i needed

I love this coffee shop so much! The people serving are so kind and sweet and really contribute to the peaceful atmosphere. Many times I'll come here to work on school work or even just to grab a quick drink with a friend. I love everything between the drinks, the food, and just the look of the place in general. I would 100% recommend this cute short stop to anyone! Love the outside add on as well!!

I like this little coffee shop. I think it’s a little expensive but what is it nowadays? it’s a little loud in there, but not too much. I would only say that the tables that are so wide that you feel like you’re sitting in another space. I don’t know why they put them that way. I also didn’t appreciate the girls at the Counter immediately telling me that my dog had to go to the back by the store without looking to see that my dog was a service animal.

Tried a flavored latte. Liked it. Service can be slow. But they have a store adjacent to the shop. Nice to check it out while waiting for the drink. I like that the place has an open layout. You can see how your order is made. The outdoor seating is well designed.

It offers a laid-back atmosphere with the largest selection of Texas craft beer in the county, as well as wine and local products. The venue hosts live music every weekend and is available for private party rentals and special events.
Our first stop while visiting Brenahm, Texas! Glad we did, this place is quiet, laid back, the place has plenty of seating inside and outside. They have a good portion of drinks to choose from and I loved my wine. I definitely want to come back to spend more time.

Stopped by this establishment on the way home to Houston. Friendly people and the atmosphere was welcoming. A beer recommended to me based on my tastes was one of the best Hazy IPAs I've ever drank. I would definitely stop by again!
Michelle C — Google review
It's a cute lil place. Interesting art on the walls and it's all for sale. 🤑 However I was disappointed. It's unlike any other beer garden I visited. And for a Saturday afternoon there was no one there 🤷🏻‍♂️ But, to be fair there was a huge ball game 🥎 happening a couple of miles up the street and the fair 🎡was in town, so🤔 I thought I remembered reading in the brochure that it was the largest selection of beer in the country? 🫣 There wasn't any live music happening either 🤷🏻‍♂️

Fantastic place for beer lovers, dog owners and people who want to chill, meet great people and just relax. First of all this place is so warm and inviting. The owner Is cool and so nice and his employees follow his lead. The place is roomy and charming and has outside patio, nice sized benches, bistro lights and an excellent selection of beers. I believe they also have live music although we didn’t get to stay and enjoy. My favorite thing about this place is they are so pet friendly! Doggie treats and water bowls for your four legged friends is a nice touch and your dog will be content and happy while you enjoy your beverage of choice. Will highly recommend to friends and hope to return!

My wife and I stopped here midafternoon on a Friday for drinks. We were the only ones there because it was so early. The bartender was friendly and helpful in directing us to a dinner option nearby. It looks like a cool place to hang out during busier times and maybe enjoy some live music.

Live music by Blaggards in the yard, friendly staff, neat place. Split a bottle of wine and is was very reasonable. Free parking in the lot next door and some street parking in front if you are fortunate. There is a food truck outside and their hours vary, plus a barbecue place right next door if you are hungry.

Amazing quality food, if you have the chance to grab the bacon wrapped quail I’d totally recommend! The wedge fries were cooked perfectly, the Brussel sprouts were crispy, the honey drizzle was a great touch. The chicken lettuce wraps were good too.

During a recent visit to Brenham, I had the distinct pleasure of dining at this remarkable establishment, where I sampled the Italian Prosciutto flatbread. Composed of a symphony of flavours, this dish features a delightful layering of fig jam, Italian prosciutto, mozzarella, goat cheese, arugula, a balsamic reduction, and a delicate drizzle of honey. Each ingredient was thoughtfully curated and perfectly balanced, conjuring nostalgic notes reminiscent of authentic Italian cuisine I have enjoyed during travels abroad. It is rare to find such a sincere and skillful homage to traditional Italian flavours in Texas, yet here, it was accomplished with remarkable finesse. The excellence of the cuisine was matched by the attentive and warm service. I would like to extend particular appreciation to Morgan and Abigail, both of whom demonstrated professionalism, charm, and a genuine dedication to guest satisfaction. A special note of gratitude is due to Morgan, whose natural ease and kindness with children is truly commendable, making our family experience all the more memorable. Without hesitation, I can say this is one of the finest restaurants in Brenham, Texas. An establishment where culinary artistry and heartfelt service unite, creating an experience that is both rare and exceptional.

Phenomenal shrimp and grits and steak and eggs, excellent service. So good we had to ask if they had a saucier, and got a wonderfully knowledgeable answer from our server. We expected a solid good meal and this exceeded expectation with redefined and elevated southern comfort food. Will definitely come back. Highly recommend.

Server Miguel was outstandingly, service was impecable, great timing with the dishes. We had time to enjoy the amazing appetizers before the main dishes came out. I felt I was at a five diamond resort. With Nothing but true great service followed by great food.

Everything about this this place is excellent. The atmosphere, the location, and the food was absolutely delicious. Big portions. Margreta is what an amazing server should be. She was friendly and made us felt welcome. She explained the menu and was just sweet. I will definitely return. We had the butchers special and the grilled chicken jasmine rice.

We love this place...the food is great and the atmosphere is very nice. Yesterday was kind of a disappointing experience with the waitress. We came in at about noon on a Saturday on purpose because it's not a very busy time and we had our two year old with us. She is generally very well behaved and didn't cause any problems but the waitress seemed a little annoyed perhaps. And then after we ordered drinks and an appetizer she came over and sort of hurriedly grabbed the menus before I stopped her and said we didn't order our food. My wife and I both noticed her demeanor change after this. She was much more jovial after it seemed she realized she would get a bigger top with more food ordered... especially a 67 dollar rib eye. It was a great lunch that was made a little less fun by her perceived assumption of us. Not a huge deal but an opportunity for improvement as I'm sure the owner, who seems like a sweet lady, would not like her guests to feel the way we did.
Fullsterkur T — Google review
Restaurant ambience is nice, host was friendly and professional, and love the outdoor seating area. Service was very slow and food quality was bad, not to mention it came cooked with a random leaf. We ordered some appetizers and entries, unfortunately it took over 45 mins for them to bring anything. Finally, everything came at once but it was soggy and my French toast topping was mixed with some weird dry leaf. I am not sure what was going on in the kitchen or with our host, but it was not a pleasant experience. We were polite and patient, ate what we could and got out of there. This was only our experience. However, tables around us seemed to receive a faster service and they seemed happy with their experience.

My husband and I had a date night for the first time in weeks. We settled on Ninety Six West in Brenham. I'm so glad we did. We had the New York Strip, shrimp, broccolini, asparagus, baked potato, and cheddar grits. Everything was cooked perfectly! You can tell that they source quality product. I was on the fence about choosing a wine that would compliment the steak and asked the waitress to bring me her recommendation. She did a great job. Highly recommend this establishment!

Can't say enough good about Pioneer Barbecue and the experience we had there. First and foremost, GREAT BBQ... everything was delicious. The Hobo nachos were particularly AWESOME!!! Everyone was so friendly and just down to earth. That combined with the sweet decore and ambiance just gives this place a really cool vibe. I recommend trying the Casey Jones challenge...it doesn't disappoint, i promise. I know I'll be back soon.

Horrible service and mediocre food! We hate giving bad reviews on Google because so many of them are just silly things like not having ice in your cup, but our recent visit to Pioneer Smoke House was pretty awful. We arrived at Pioneer’s at 6:00pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was only 1/3 full. We were so excited and sure we were gonna get great service. You won’t believe it, but we had to wait 1 hour for an order of 2 barbecue sandwiches and a side. 1 hour?!?!?! We were absolutely starving by the time we got our sandwiches and they forgot to deliver our side. We were so tired and hungry by then we didn’t see the sense in complaining about an incomplete order and waiting another hour. Both sandwiches were pretty bad. The brisket sandwich was 50% fat/gristle and uneatable (see the picture!). The pulled pork sandwich was flavorless and bland. We both love coleslaw. We drive hours out of our way to just eat this delicious delicacy. From North Carolina to Kansas City to West Texas Hill country, we pride ourselves, knowing what a good cole slaw is. Well.. we’ve never had such a flavorless and bland coleslaw. It had a weird lifeless tan color and not any flavor at all. Not even the cabbage itself had flavor. Definitely not my grandma’s slaw. Everybody there looked tired and overworked and the food was nothing to write home about, especially when there’s wonderful barbecue a stones throw away in every direction. This is Texas! This is barbecue country.

We’re in town to visit the bluebell factory and stopped for dinner around 6:30. I chose this place based off the reviews and was super excited when we walked in. The place is cute and easy to get to. I picked a sundae flavored rootbeer to drink and ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries. The food didn’t take long to come out but boy was I heartbroken when I bit into my sandwich. The meat was so dry and hard, easily the worst barbecue I’ve ever had. It was completely inedible. The fries were super soft and dripping with oil which was disappointing because the seasoning on them was great. Unfortunately my favorite part of the meal was the canned soda. Bluebell was great enough to plan another trip back to Brenham but I’d never eat at Pioneer again.
Mariela S — Google review
The place is super cool and chill. There is so much seating and the people are very nice and accommodating. The food came out super fast, and it was very good. The brisket was a bit dry and did lack a little taste. But everything else was good.

We absolutely love this place!!!! Great for families or a date night! It is a hidden gem that is worth checking out, and the food is delicious! The owner takes a lot of pride in his business and is always front and center greeting and waiting on customers.

I recently hosted my husband’s celebration of life at Pioneer Smokehouse and it was the perfect setting. The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and just right for bringing together family and friends. We were able to rent out the entire space at a very reasonable price, and the owner was incredibly flexible and accommodating throughout the planning process — which made everything so much easier during a difficult time. The chicken, pork, and brisket were especially good, and the service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and professional. Everyone enjoyed the casual, comfortable vibe, and it turned out to be a beautiful evening. I’m so grateful to the team for helping make it such a special and meaningful gathering.

Great burgers and the Boris chicken sandwich is awesome! The margaritas come in three flavors and are grey wine based and strong.. I can't believe it nobody was in there on a Saturday. The food's awesome staff is friendly and even the chips and salsa are good.

TABU has all the makings of what should be a stellar restaurant since I love tacos and burgers. I got great vibes once we came inside because it's quite small and homey, and you can tell it has a lot of locals. There's not much seating around 12pm so get here early. I sat with my kids and ordered coke zeros for everyone. The problem with these -- they go by the can and charge extra per can. For myself, I got a spicy chicken taco and the mac n' cheese bbq taco (can't remember the exact name but that's what was in it). Both of these tacos had some great flavor but they were very small. I'm used to very filling tacos if they're in the $4 price range. My kids got the chicken tenders, mac n' cheese, and fries to share. The mac n' cheese certainly was the highlight of these items once I had a nibble. The chicken tenders looked like they used to be frozen, something I could easily make at home for a couple bucks. The fries also may be frozen with not much flavor or tenderness. The worst part of this was we waited close to 45 minutes after we ordered to get our food. My kids started asking about the food which is a sure sign they're hungry and it's taking longer than expected. I get it, they're busy and a local gem, but 45 minutes is just a long time and a deal breaker for me. I have to dock some stars just based on that alone. The waitress we had was nice so I tipped her well, but I don't think we'll be back. Just overall disappointed with such a hot spot.

Super delicious food! We ordered the carne Asada fries, carne asada tacos, and burgers. So juicy and flavorful! Definitely coming here again. It was super busy when we got there but it was worth the wait. Our server was so friendly!

I finally got to try this place. Got a weird combination of things but because it was my first time. So I got carne asada fries, Two mahi-mahi tacos and a side of Mac and cheese. I will say my first time trying the mahi mahi tacos that was delicious!! I would definitely recommend. I would also recommend the carne asada fries. The Mac and cheese was not the greatest. It wasn’t very cheesy but sometimes it what someone prefers. Definitely recommend this place. I also got all that for under $30 bucks good quality food at a good quality price.

Very clean and cozy restaurant, however the good stops there. if you are ok with canned salsa, and canned corn this is the place for you. The service was good. Tacos where the brisket was tasty. Would not recommend because they do not seve fresh food.
Dan S — Google review
I rarely give reviews like this. A place has to fail on so many levels for me to rate a place 1 star. I ordered Chicken Chipotle Tosatadas w/ side order of street corn, which was a joke. It was can corn drizzled with paprika and nastiness. Canned corn. The tostadas were soggy, seriously soggy. Come on. I ordered a side order of chips and salsa because they DO NOT give it out . The salsa was canned, watery and drenched in salt. I have no idea if anything is homemade. The staff was nice, but work on the quality of the food. Make your own salsa. Water salsa does not cut it.

Good little bistro with beer and wine offerings. Very clean place with excellent service. Fresh -made food came out fast. Located right downtown off the square, walking distance to all the shops.

Wasted our last night in town on mediocre food and bad service. In an empty resturant it took 10 mins to get our drinks, forever to get our food, and then forever to get our check. Images are of the under seasoned lemon salt pork rinds, the squeeze packet looking guacamole, my unimpressive basic cold tacos and the water salsa.

Steak house
Bar
B T Longhorn Saloon is a historic steakhouse that offers a classic menu in a charming setting, complete with an imported and vintage bar. The staff at this establishment are incredibly friendly and attentive. One can indulge in their perfectly cooked Ribeye, which is full of flavor from the grill and topped with a touch of garlic butter. Although the baked potato may have been slightly overcooked, it was still enjoyable as it came loaded with toppings.
It was our first time visiting and won't be the last. Since the minute we walked in, we were courteously greeted and quickly seated at our table, which we appreciated. The waitress brought us the menus and brought us our soft drinks. She tended to us when we asked for anything, and that to me, is awesome customer service! The food was exactly as it was pictured on the menu, and it was very tasty! The atmosphere was eclectic and took me back to the wild west era... It's super cool 😎 👌 we will definitely be back to try some more food and some desserts!

Nestled in quaint downtown Brenham, this appears to be a local favorite, judging by the crowd. I don’t drink so I can’t say anything about the drinks. I will say they have a large drink menu and the bar was full. The food was very good. The portions were generous as well. The green beans were pretty plain. If I were going to complain that would be it. Worth the trip!

In from Galveston TX for wedding. Atmosphere is great as was the food. Eli was excellent with our bar service. Wish we lived closer.

This is the worst service I have ever had in my life. 30 minutes to receive water. 45 minutes before we got to order food. Sent a burger back as we ordered it medium and received it well done and cold to the touch. Got the burger back with a different patty on the same bun that had bite marks from me taking a bit the first time around. Fairly certain that’s a heath code violation. Offered to remove that and the hockey puck pork chops off the bill. Cool. My pregnant partner is now leaving this restaurant hungry. Myself and extended family will never come back.

The filet was served cold, the broccoli had a small bug, and the limes were old. When I brought these issues to the manager's attention, she asked, "Are you going to finish your food?" Additionally, the ribeye was tough and chewy. Overall, this experience was very disappointing due to the poor service. At least they removed the filet from the bill.

BEST Blue Cheese burger ever! If you’re obsessed with Blue Cheese like me, ask for extra blue cheese, but you probably won’t need it. I got my burger medium. Sooooo good!

Absolutely the best Sidecar and Moscow Mule we've ever had. Excellent pork chops and Greek salad. Wonderful service and atmosphere at a great price and location near parking area.

We tried their burger and asked for midium-rare on the meat. It was cooked perfectly. One of the best burgers we have ever tried! Their fried pickles were also better than other places. They have a great chef for this restaurant! We also tried their cooktails. The drinks were tasty and the bartender was not shy with the liquor! The restaurant has nicedecor and comfortable sitting. We definitely would like to come back again!

I went through the drive thru and ordered 2 wings, a small mash potato with gravy, and an apple pie.The total was $11.12. Was it worth it? I don't think so. The customer service skills or less than mediocre and the food is not up to par! I suddenly realized why I stopped eating here.

The food itself is pretty good. It’s a hit or miss on service/order accuracy depending on who is working and how attentive they are. Last 2 visits the ladies were on point, but this evening the guy working forgot our sauces and straws so I had to go back and then when we got home realized we didn’t get any Mac & Cheese. I’ll keep coming back though.

Very understaffed. You will wait about 30 min for a chicken sandwich, and that's consistent. I haven't been in about 6 months hoping management or something would change, but after waiting 15 min in the car line, I went inside, waited in that line for about 7 minutes before giving up. Someone build a Popeyes plz

The chicken doesn't have any seasoning ang is barely warm. The mashed potatoes not seasoned, the gravy is ok

It's like every time anyone comes here they are surprised someone is here. 30 minutes in the drive thru is crazy. They told me they were closed at 7 pm but I had a pickup so they all of a sudden weren't. Wild.
