Cheese shop
Sugarbush Farm is a rural farm located just 15 minutes outside of Woodstock. The farm offers cheese and syrup tastings, as well as the opportunity to view the tree-tapping process. Visitors can enjoy walks around the property and interact with the animals on site. The staff are known for their hospitality, offering guided tours, answering questions, and providing samples of their cheeses and maple syrups. Additionally, visitors can observe the packaging process for cheese products.
Sugarbush Farm is one of the most charming and authentic spots to visit near Woodstock, Vermont! The drive up is scenic, winding through country roads surrounded by trees and open fields, and once you arrive, you’re greeted by a peaceful family-run farm with a beautiful view. Inside the little shop, they offer free tastings of their homemade cheese and pure Vermont maple syrup — and both are absolutely delicious. You can really taste the care that goes into their products, from sharp cheddar to smoky and spicy flavors. The syrup tasting is also fun; they explain the different grades and how each has its own flavor and color. The staff are super friendly, patient, and happy to share stories about the farm’s history and maple-making process. You can even walk the short trail to see the maple trees and taps. A true Vermont experience — simple, genuine, and memorable!

We did not enjoy the rockyness of the road to get up to the farm but the nature views were beautiful. The farm it self is small and feels cozy. FREE SAMPLES are Wonderful! We loved how passionate everyone that worked there was about the cheese and maple syrup made there and how friendly and knowledgeable they were. You can tour the farm, shop, and check out the chapel. Definitely, worth a visit if you're in the area.
Nashalie M — Google review
We had such a great time here! There’s a small shed out back where you can learn about their maple syrup process, and inside you can sample select maple syrups and cheeses. The samples were so delicious that we couldn’t resist bringing some home. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Very pretty drive to this farm from Quechee with fall foliage along the way. There was 2 maple syrup tasting and cheese tasting, the maple syrup was good! Also enjoyed the maple walk through their maple trees and see how they harvest the syrup, that was interesting! There were lots of ladybugs at the entrance to the maple tree walk, they will even fly onto you as you walk past. There were also cute goats at the farm.

We were so happy we found this farm. The people there were very friendly and knowledgeable. The whole atmosphere was authentic. The cheeses were truly delicious and the maple syrup was exceptional. Overall, it was the best experience we had on our Vermont and New Hampshire trip. The views at this farm and in the surrounding area were breathtaking.

Some years ago I tried the maple syrup from Sugarbush Farms and never looked back. No other syrup compares and I always go out of my way to visit anytime I’m anywhere in the greater New England area! Sadly this year I didn’t get to visit New England - but lucky for me Sugarbush ships nationwide!! So I tried it out and ordered some of their syrup and my fave cheeses. Ordering online via their website was super easy. I ordered my fave dark variety of their maple syrup and 4 cheeses: horseradish cheddar, jalapeño cheddar, sharp cheddar, and Monterey Jack. Their horseradish cheddar is my absolute fave - a wonderful kick of the spicy horseradish blends so well with their rich cheddar. I really love the jalapeño cheddar too - packed full of flavor with just the right amount of kick - not overwhelming but enough to taste it. The other two were great as well - you can definitely tell their cheeses are made fresh on site - flavors are just next level compared to industrial-manufactured cheeses from the grocery store chains. And the maple syrup is also in a league of its own - nothing mass-manufactured from any grocery chain holds a candle to the rich, complex flavors and velvety texture. The syrups also last quite a long time so I’m able to keep my stocks full yearly! Since I was ordering cheese with a long way to travel, and it was still quite warm in parts of the US, their website suggested adding one of their insulated shipping boxes for an extra fee of $8. I didn’t want to risk ruining my cheese so I did and all arrived in excellent condition! They pack it in extra insulated styrofoam with ice packs. So it’s definitely worth it imo. Next year I’ll be in Maine in October so I’ll definitely be planning an extra day or two to pop over to Sugarbush on my way back out haha!! See yall next fall!
Hannah S — Google review
Loved this experience! The BEST maple syrup I have ever tried and the cheese was so good. The maple syrup tasted like fresh candy, couldn't leave without getting their cute sample pack! T Walking through the trail was so fun, doing the quiz and seeing how maple syrup is created. What a fun little stop this was!
Danielle L — Google review
So happy we made a stop here at Sugarbush Farm! The cheese and syrup samples were delicious! I loved the little store! I stocked up on maple syrup to take home as gifts. It was really cool seeing the tree tapping process! We enjoyed the 1 mile self guided hike through the woods!

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Taftsville Covered Bridge is a historic landmark in Vermont, built in 1836 and one of the state's oldest bridges. It offers picturesque views and is a popular spot for photography. The bridge can be accessed by driving along Quechee Main Street, providing an opportunity to capture its beautiful red color and impressive length. Nearby swimming access points along the Ottauquechee River offer unique experiences, with opportunities for secluded spots and scenic views of Middle Covered Bridge near Woodstock History Center.
I was hoping to see the Quechee Gorge, but the water level was very low and construction on the bridge made it difficult to photograph. So, I explored the area and wandered into Woodstock, VT. The Taftsville covered bridge, built in 1836, is a timber framed bridge and one of the oldest covered bridges in Vermont, that goes over the Ottauquechee River. It's also the second longest bridge in the state, and a classic New England sight, with the foliage just starting to turn. (Only the vibrant reds were missing.) Both cars and pedestrians can travel over this bridge This was a really pretty area to explore on foot, and one that I plan to return to.

All in one spot... A mix of Vermont's popular covered bridges, a small dam, and a hydroelectric power station! Free Parking (for about 10 vehicles) is right beside the power station.

If you love old covered bridges, this is a place to visit. There are at least 3 in the area and the Taftsville should not be missed. You actually drive across this bridge so you may have to wait to actually get across.

On a trip through New England in 2015, we stumbled upon this beautiful bridge. I was so excited! I fell in love instantly! Much to my surprise, my boyfriend proposed to me under the bridge! One year later, we returned to this magical spot and exchanged our vows. We return every five years and each time it is as breathtaking as it was the first time. This will always and forever be my happy place. I adore this bridge, Taftsville and Woodstock. It is truly magical!

Restaurant
Worthy Kitchen is a popular rustic counter-serve pub in Woodstock, known for its gourmet farm-to-table New American cuisine and wide selection of craft beers. The restaurant exudes a laid-back, small-town charm with a casual vibe and a menu displayed on a huge chalkboard. Open only from Thursday to Sunday, it offers an array of dishes including salads, wings, fried chicken sandwiches, and juicy burgers.
Very casual. We sat at the bar and enjoyed some great craft beers (too many to choose from) and sandwiches. I had the bbq chicken sandwich and John had the po boy. Both with nicely dressed side salads that included pine nuts and feta. Absolutely delicious. It is not walking distance from downtown but a good casual food destination.
Whitney W — Google review
The Worthy Kitchen is worth a visit, though be prepared for slightly higher prices given the type of food offered. Now, let's get straight to the food. First up was the Steak and Cheese Sub. While not bad, I personally prefer bolder flavors. That said, the portion was generous, packed with both steak and cheese. Next were the BBQ Burger and the two patty Smash Burgers—both were excellent, flavorful, and left no room for complaints. The Mac and Cheese was a pleasant surprise. I hadn’t planned on finishing it, but it was so good that I did. I’d definitely recommend it. As for dessert, it was decent—nothing extraordinary, but a nice way to end the meal. Overall, if you don’t mind the prices and are looking for a good atmosphere with solid food, The Worthy Kitchen is a great place to stop by. P.S. Keep in mind that ordering here requires waiting in line, and your food will be brought to your table. If anyone in your party wants a refill, they’ll need to get up and get it themselves. And if you decide to add dessert to your order later, you guessed it—you’ll have to get back in line. This setup might be inconvenient for some, especially those with mobility issues.

Food here was absolutely incredible, especially the chips! We had the kitchen burger and they were delicious. Star knocked due to the system of having a table but having to wait in line for 40 mins to order food before we sat down. I understand this is the system of the restaurant to save staff waiting on tables, however it felt more of a ‘fast food’ system. Overall really great food and good atmosphere however be ready to stand and wait to order for some time.

This place is about a mile from center of Woodstock - nice 20-25 min walk on a cool summer evening. Parking is hard to find when it's busy and it surely does get busy on the weekends! Make sure you call and make a reservation if it's a weekend. When you walk in, check with the host to confirm reservation and s/he will provide your table number (outdoor patio is nice, if you can request to sit out there). Then you proceed to place an order (limited menu is on the wall) before finding your assigned table. Self serve tap water station is around the corner from the order counter/bar. A server will come out with your food. We had to wait for 40 mins however we really enjoyed the food (bleu burger, chicken burger etc). The beers are alright and I wish they had samplers! Overall the wait can be long so keep some time on your hands but the food is surely worth it.

We stopped at Worthy Kitchen in Woodstock, Vermont, and wow — what a great find! The place has such a cozy, down-to-earth vibe, and the food was amazing. The burger was juicy, cooked just right, and full of flavor. The fries were hot, crispy, and tasted fresh — no frozen stuff here! I had a drink in their “Worthy Glass,” and it went perfectly with the meal. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, and you can tell they care about quality. Definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area — I’d go back in a heartbeat! 🍔🍟

This place isn’t anything fancy/upscale, but solid food, good service and ample seating/reservations at this Woodstock gastropub gem. Great fast casual option, if you’re looking for a wknd dinner spot in this small town where last minute reservations can be difficult to find for small and large parties. It’s about a mile from center of Woodstock - nice 20-25 min walk on a cool summer evening. Parking is also available, if you decide to drive. A server will come out with your food. We really enjoyed the bleu burger and the wings. Their hot sauce is also very good (not too spicy, but full of a deep smoky flavor). They should start selling that on the side - I’d buy a couple of bottles to take home. Update: went back for a second visit before leaving Woodstock. Again, very good food - much smaller crowd for 2pm lunch. Sitting on the outdoor deck is highly recommended.

I came here with pretty high expectations after reading so many glowing reviews online. Every blog mentioned it as one of the best spots in Woodstock, so of course, we had to try it. Reservations are definitely recommended—it’s a busy place. What surprised me was that it isn’t a traditional sit-down restaurant. You order and pay at the counter, then find a seat while they bring your food out. The ordering line was quite long, and I found the prices a bit on the higher side. The food was okay—not bad, but not exceptional either. The staff, however, were very friendly and welcoming.

Overall, it was a close fight between 4 and 5 stars! We ate as a group of 6 and there were some mixed opinions on the burgers and chicken sandwich. We all loved the Clam Chowder and the Nachos, so yum. The Bleu Cheese Burger had mixed feelings of amazing and average. The fries though were loved by all. Service was super friendly and atmosphere was moderate noise but definitely fit the vibe. Bathrooms were kind of off putting, they are shared in a hallway and weren’t the cleanest. Prices were kind of high too! Overall, we would go again.

Billings Farm & Museum is a unique destination that combines a working farm with an engaging museum dedicated to the history of scientific farming. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits and demonstrations while learning about the farm's operations. One of the newest attractions is the Sunflower House, featuring thousands of sunflowers in various varieties, creating a maze-like experience for visitors to enjoy from August through early September.
Fun place to visit! The museum was very interesting - the video on making a wooden tub was informative. The grounds are beautiful and serene, given there weren’t very many other people around. There wasn’t as many farm animals as I was expecting. The farm manager’s house and tour were my favorite part of the visit.

We apsolutely love this place. We are now members. We saw the movie and all the animals, we had a wonderful homemade ice cream and a drink. We will definitely be back. Great for all the family..plenty to do and see.

Solid place. Nothing too special in my mind. Would have been better off heading across the street to the National Park except it was closed due to government shutdown (thank you dems). If it had been like half as much, could give 5 stars. Nice setting for sure and the farm was nice. Didn't have too many animals out though (small animal building for example only had three of six stalls with animals in them). Parking was good. Had great bathrooms and water. Spent like hour and 15 minutes here. Was nice just not great. We did leave our car parked here while we walked into Woodstock. That worked out well to avoid the congestion and get a nice walk in.
Jimmer W — Google review
Very beautiful museum and working farm. If you haven't been here, you should consider going. It's right next to picturesque Woodstock and would make a great side trip if you're in the area. The apple tasting was fun and eye opening and the cheese in the gift shop was great.
David R — Google review
A wonderful meshing of American history and contemporary dairy farming. My daughter and I visited recently and had great fun exploring the exhibits in the visitor center, touring the 130+ year old farm manager's home that also houses a creamery in its basement, and petting the cows, calves, and sheep. There was a "farmers market" on site that day with lots of vendors selling freshly made cheeses, maple syrups, etc. There was even live music. All in all, a wonderful experience that added to our enjoyment of Vermont.
Chris C — Google review
A must-visit farm when in Woodstock! We absolutely loved this place—there’s so much to do. From horseback rides around the farm and barn dances to ice cream making, walking through the orchards, and exploring the museum, it’s a fun experience for both kids and adults. We especially enjoyed the fresh apple cider donuts and watching how they press and make the cider (and getting to taste it!). The homemade ice cream was also delicious—definitely worth trying!
Julianne W — Google review
The museum has a large collection of farming tools for the different industries. The information is well organized and succinctly written so it becomes easy to understand the purposes and history of farming in Vermont. The guided tours, The Creamery and The Butter Making, were done by knowledgeable and experienced staff. It was an absolute pleasure to learn from them ! I strongly recommend this place for people of all ages!

We visited on a Thursday morning in late June 2025. We parked here to actually explore the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park next door. In the parking lot there is a NPS booth that gives info on the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. It is staffed by volunteers and they can give you info on what you need to know. I think a lot of people get confused and try to go into the Billings Farm & Museum. NPS does house it's short film in the theater inside the Billings Farm & Museum that is free of charge. You just walk in and turn right. That's all we really did here was watch some of the short film. We didn't have enough time otherwise we'd pay to explore this farm & museum. it looks fairly nice and clean inside the building. While it was a short visit here, we would visit again if we were driving by.

Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is a forested park with a focus on conservation history. It features exhibits and tours of a Victorian mansion, offering visitors an insight into the area's rich heritage. The park is home to popular hiking trails such as Mount Tom and The Pogue, providing stunning views of Woodstock town. Additionally, there are various swimming access points along the Ottauquechee River in Woodstock Village, each offering unique experiences and picturesque views.
Nice historical park and part of the National Parks System. There are a lot of options for your visit, including a house tour, grounds to roam, and plenty of hiking trails.

Pogue and mount tom trail were great. Attached a video of my route above. We did the full circle. Right side is doable for all and is just a long slow uphill for a while. The left side is a steep climb with wores to make sure you do not fall. Signs posted in regards to steepness. You could hike the right and go back down the same way to avoid it if you are not up for the rougher part. Anyways absolutely loved it!

We visited on a Thursday morning in late June 2025. We parked across the street at the Billings Farm & Museum which is a private establishment but works along with the NPS. From the parking lot to get to the National Historical Park, you go up the paved walkway and then cross the street. It's a lot of up hill to get to the Visitor Center. The visitor center itself is in a newer building and is quite large. When you enter the info desk is to the right and the bathrooms and water fountain are to the left. If you walk ahead there are a ton of exhibits and it goes all the way around to the large open area more focused towards children. There are books and tables and activities. We asked for Junior Ranger Booklets at the info desk. The info desk is where the NPS Passport Cancellation Stamps are too. The gift shop is also back behind the info desk area to the right. It's a standard size for the National Historic Site like this. We asked to get tickets to tour the house at 12:30PM when they started but the ranger said it was too early. They give you a laminated piece of paper with a time printed on it for each person in your party and I think she was afraid we would lose it or take it and not turn it in. Not quite sure. We paid $15 for 2 adults and 3 children (15&under). This was for the "Marsh, Billings, Rockefeller - The Mansion Experience (Self guided tour)". The tour itself starts on the front porch of the mansion where a ranger gives a 15 min talk and then they let you inside where there is another ranger and you get 15 mins to walk around while the ranger outside starts the next tour group. So it's like a rolling program. The ranger inside told us that the self guided tour only allows you to explore the main floor of the house and to tour the upstairs you'd have to book those guided tours. While we waited for our 12:30PM tour we toured the rest of the property. We went to the Belvedere and the gardens and hiked a short loop around the property. There is a shed along the path with exhibit in as well. Looked like a converted garage. Overall it was a great visit. The rangers and volunteers were all very nice and helpful. I do not know if I would visit again but it was certainly worth the first visit. Maybe if we were driving by and able to get that guided tour of the mansion. We didn't have time to watch the entire film in the Billings Farm & Museum either. If we had more time we would've probably paid to check that establishment out but we had a tight itinerary for the day.
David L — Google review
Beautiful location and wonderful carriage trails to walk around. The mansion was closed but the porch was open so you could sit and enjoy the view. They could have better signs and add the distance to some of the major trails.

We took a very long hike (mostly because we got lost a couple of times) to Pogue Pond and back. It was very peaceful and beautiful. The hike is moderate- some uphill walking, but the paths aren't difficult to navigate.

Great national park to visit. Tickets required for admission to the house. Only guided tours allow access to all the levels of the house. Recommended to take the guided tour. Park rangers are amazing story tellers passionate about the forest preservation.

Last weekend, my wife and I were thrilled to discover that Vermont is home to its very own National Park and it’s located right here in Woodstock! As longtime supporters of National Parks, we couldn’t wait to experience it for ourselves. Entry to the park is free, though ranger-led tours of the mansion run about $9 per adult. The park’s history is absolutely fascinating. It preserves the boyhood home of George Perkins Marsh, a pioneering environmental thinker whose book Man and Nature laid the foundation for conservation in the U.S. Another interesting fact: the park includes the oldest continuously managed scientific forest in the country, originally reforested by Frederick Billings as a model of sustainable forestry. We opted for a ranger-led mansion tour (worth every penny), which brought the estate’s legacy of stewardship to life through beautifully preserved furnishings, art, and stories of the Marsh, Billings, and Rockefeller families. After the tour, our ranger highly recommended a scenic trail hike. It was an easy, peaceful walk that led us to a lovely lake loop - perfect for stretching our legs and soaking in nature. The trail meandered beneath shady trees and felt like a serene escape from the world. All in all, if you’re curious about conservation history or just looking for a peaceful, enriching outing in woodland surroundings, this park is a gem. The blend of free admission, affordable ranger tours, compelling legacy, and gentle trails make it a memorable and meaningful stop in Woodstock.

Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Park Unit was quite cool to visit. Driving through Woodstock was a treat. The park itself has a cool visitor center and mansion. Beyond that there are miles of trails and plenty of hiking to do. I was not able to do much hiking as I was there relatively late but hope to come back one day. You are also able to do a tour of the mansion. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to visit this national park unit but if you are in the area it would be cool to check out.

Awesome "little" market plum full of options. Stopped a few times when we were in the area for some snacks and food. It was obviously a hot spot for locals to stop in for coffee and a muffin or hot sandwich. The bakery items were fantastic and we tried a few different bottled organic drinks. Wish I had this place near me at home as we would be in here on a regular basis. Staff was plentiful, helpful, and great to talk to also.

Great quality stuff here and a fun vibe. Also they recently started doing vegan baked good and I’ve been obsessed with them. Even my non vegan friends loved them. Will be back for those and I look forward to seeing even more options in the future!

O M G!!!! This place is paradise!!!! Everything I bought is amazing! The Salmon was so fresh! The sour dough bread, zucchini bread, produce is 10 out of 10. Staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of locally made items. I’m definitely going back for Fall items. My nieces bought sandwiches that looked fresh and well made. Worth the trip. So much to do in Woodstock VT. Highly recommend!!!!

The Woodstock Farmer's Market is a must try! We stopped in to look around but walked out with homemade soup, peanut butter cookies, shortbread cookies, and a few souvenirs. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The chicken curry soup was delicious and cookies were pretty good, too.

A great store that beautifully survived through the pandemic and flourished! A great team with long-term staff which is always a sign of strong management and good organizational culture. The food is excellent in every department! It is always a joy to shop here. Few if any stores match in a one hour plus driving radius. Keep up the good work!

The White Cottage Snack Bar, situated just a mile west of town on Rt 4, offers a delectable array of char-broiled burgers, homemade onion rings, sandwiches, whole belly clams, Maine lobster salad rolls, and fresh salads. Additionally, they boast an impressive selection of 30 flavors of ice cream. On weekends during the summer season, patrons can savor steamed Maine lobster dinners.
Our group of eight drove an hour on the reputation of White Cottage and we were not disappointed! A friend in Florida had told us that people from all over the country go to White Cottage for their amazing whole-belly fried clams. They are worth a Michelin Star! But so is everything else on their menu.

The location is great, you are right next to the river. Outdoor seating is cozy. The food is okay, not what it used to be. The staff was dismissive and unfriendly, and they did not get our order correct. We ordered hot dogs, onion rings, French fries, a fish sandwich, clam strips, and shakes. The onions were a bit raw but edible. The clam strips were good. The French fries were ok. The lady who took our order was barefoot and extremely dismissive. She snapped when asked questions and did not put our order in correctly. When we ordered a 2nd shake, she gave a big sigh and yelled across to a co-worker to also make a vanilla shake. It seemed to be an inconvenience to her, even though she hadn't totaled the order yet. They did fix their mistakes, without an apology and forced one of us to wait for the correction and therefore I didn't get to eat my food hot. I won't go back, even though I have past fond memories of years gone by. It was expensive, for just okay food. Add the uncomfortable experience with the staff, and it's just not for me.

Update to my review: Due to the ignorant response, I down graded. So the booths that I referred to where the INSIDE ones on the side I got my food. We did NOT sit outside because it was cold out and raining that day! Use your brain much?, maybe not everyone who visits you goes outside. Maybe they have a disability and cannot do that? or maybe it was just raining! I though people would like to know how much seating is inside on the side we sat. Yes, it is pricey as compared to the other restaurants in the area from our experience in the area. That is a personal opinion. I had ONE normal sized hotdog (pork/chicken, not even beef) nothing comes with it. it was $5. to me that is overpriced. I said a little pricey. but I guess that is not good enough for you. Everyone is trying to make a living in this world. I opted for the 3 star because saying its a little over priced is not a bad review and does not discourage anyone. *****Initial review, not edited***** Little too pricey, most of the area is overpriced in the food, but there are some really good gems in the area that are worth it. This food was okay. Just good for lunch. food is okay quick service. You stand in line and order your food at the window and then there's a pickup window and there's like six or eight booths that you can sit down in.

A must have when visiting VT! Love to sit outside and enjoy the river! TBH....I have never had thr ice cream, but the clam strips and burgers are great!

Place was delicious right on the river and the scallops were melt-in your mouth good. Cash only spot too!
Mylo B — Google review
What a gem! My family (dogs included) we're passing through Woodstock and fortunately decided to try out this restaurant. While there is plenty of room inside the place, the best part was outside. Plenty of picnic tables (set and gliders) on the ridge overlooking the river with overflow spots a short walk down the hill. We enjoyed our meals and a quick play in the river. We highly recommend this spot for kids and dogs alike.

Ordered the popcorn shrimp and clam strips. Delicious batter, and the shrimp and clam tasted phenomenal. Prices were really good too. I didn’t blow my budget. Very friendly staff. Absolutely would eat here again

I don’t get how this place can get any negative reviews. We went there last night and the staff were really friendly and helpful. They really do have the best fried clams, last time I had fried clams this good was in Andalusia. The fried fish and grilled chicken sandwiches were tasty too. The homemade batter on the clams, fish, onion rings were so good. Will definitely be back in the day time in the future to enjoy the riverside seating

Pizza restaurant
Pizza Chef is a casual pizza chain that also serves subs, Italian dishes, salads, and sides. The food is described as amazing, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The staff is known for being super friendly and the restaurant is kept very clean. The prices are considered fair and the location in Woodstock is easy to find. Customers appreciate the exceptional service and fair prices at Pizza Chef. Some have even had positive experiences with refunds when orders were made in error or when indoor dining was not available.
Pizza Chef in Woodstock completely exceeded my expectations. The pizza was super flavorful, with a perfectly balanced crust—crispy, yet soft in all the right places. The Greek salad was out of this world, with fresh ingredients and just the right portion size. To top it off, their beer selection was surprisingly good. The atmosphere is quiet, relaxed, and has a super towny, local feel—but in the best way possible. Very friendly staff and a welcoming vibe. I was completely amazed and pleasantly surprised by this place. Definitely coming back!
Jose C — Google review
We entered this odd-feeling restaurant with some hesitation. Unfortunately, due to the day of the week, our options for food in the area were limited. The atmosphere was not pleasant. It was dim in places and harshly lit in others with a mix of incandescent and fluorescent lighting. It was just plain weird. The spaghetti and ravioli lacked flavor and the sauce was watery. The salads were OK. We ordered a side of onion rings which were pretty good.

I took my wife and kids here after some shopping in downtown Woodstock. I'm so glad we got out of the main street area and found this place. Great Italian sausage, pepper, and onions sub. Perfectly toasted roll for the sub and the sausage had a nice kick to it. Good selection of draft beers and my kids loved their pizza even as native New Yorkers.
Zanarkand — Google review
My wife and I shared a large pizza, her favorite toppings on half, mine on the other half. Alex, the owner of 35 years, was friendly and accomodating during a busy evening rush. The fresh and plentiful toppings, in just the right proportion to the tasty crust and sauce, created an awesome pie experiece that we both enjoyed. The guality and value for the price was consistent with what we've seen from Texas to Maine. Love supporting the small family businesses doing it right for decades. Can't wait to try one of the subs I saw going out on another order next time we're in the area.

Drove up to see the eclipse and was ravenous after hours of driving. We ordered a personal cheese and a personal pulled pork pizza. They were so good we nearly burned ourselves because we couldn't stop eating. Especially the cheese pizza. Hands down some of the best pizza I've ever had. And they were so friendly and pleasant to talk to! The decor was unique and the place was very cozy. We sat at a window booth and someone was playing the piano; it added so much to the vibe.

My husband has celiac disease and they had a great gluten free crust and made sure the side he ordered was a good option for him to be safe with eating it. My husband loved the pizza and my Greek pizza was fantastic, and I absolutely loved the sauce. Small little family place - so happy it was open on a Tuesday while we were in town.

went in and around 7:00 on a Sunday night, last day of a 3-day tourism stay. there's another establishment called just "Pizza chef" and I think we went to the wrong one, but we decided to go for it anyways. seating areas where spacious with large vintage 80s booths. if you ever watched the old TV show Alice and you remember the cook in the back, this was the owner that was behind the counter. no customers when we walked in but owner was at the counter talking to somebody about something on his phone. he continued the conversation with his buddy and ignored us, and also let his phone ring a good six or eight rings before he took his time saying goodbye to the guy and answer his phone. we thought that was kind of not a great sign but proceeded on. wife got pasta, owner agreed it looked pretty shitty when we brought it up..... asked for the pizza to be well done because of the extra cheese, wasn't done that well, couldn't pick up a slice without the cheese sliding off. typically on a well-done pizza, the cheese stays put. while we were there someone else brought their order back because it was made wrong, and we all know how bad it has to be when you bring a pizza back that you've already gotten home with. looks like the guys been there a long time and doesn't depend on the locals for repeat business. not trashing the place, but the pizza world is super competitive and you can do better if you're in town for a visit. the actual seating area was pretty good, decor wasn't bad, food and service were the worst parts. only ate a couple of slices, brought the rest Home hoping I don't waste it but I think I know where it's going to end up. seems like maybe the owner is just burnt out and can't get good help? don't know but I'd try somewhere else first.

Tapas restaurant
Melaza Bistro is a charming restaurant in Woodstock that offers a unique dining experience with its Caribbean-inspired tapas and entrees made from locally sourced ingredients. The cozy bistro aims to bring the flavors of the tropics to America, and it does not disappoint. Guests can enjoy delicious dishes and drinks at this gem, which stands out among the predominantly American cuisine in the area. The food is described as good, with phenomenal drinks, although some minor imperfections were noted by diners.
Love this restaurant! Every time we visit this town we try to stop in. This is Latin fusion at its best. The food is always so flavorful and good. Today we started with the corn and chorizo chowder and it was so good. The chorizo gave the chowder a smoky taste, it was delicious. For our entrees I had the Cuban sandwich and my girlfriend had the jerk chicken. Both meals were excellent. I love a good Cuban sandwich and this one hit all the right spots. The rotary pork was delicious. My girlfriend loved the jerk chicken it was really good. To end or meal we had the flan which was ridiculously good. Great job, we will come back for sure.

We loved this place! My husband had the churrasco steak. It was tender, juicy and very flavorful. This was by far our best meal in Vermont! We also had the bistro salad and it was fantastic. The maple poppyseed dressing was so different and tasty with the dried cranberries, apples and blue cheese. Last but not least, we tried the flan as it’s the chef’s mother’s recipe. The sauce really made it. It was scratch made caramel with a hint of orange and served very cold. It was excellent and very creamy and much better than what we usually get in Texas. Our server, Chelsea was so friendly and all the food chef David made was divine. We highly recommend!

Amazing atmosphere and food, and friendly staff. I was with a couple of friends and we all ordered different plates - vegetable paella, swordfish with ravioli, and pork shank - and they were all delicious. We also ordered the coconut cake for dessert (also delicious!). The restaurant was busy and we arrived a bit late, but our waitress was always very friendly and we never felt pressured to order/leave. I'd definitely recommend it if you're going to Woodstock

The best food we’ve had on our road trip so far!! From Maine to New Hampshire to Vermont - they nailed it on dinner. Great Spanish wine. Well equipped to handle dairy-free and gluten-free needs. You will not be disappointed!
Brooke B — Google review
The cuisine was unreal. I got the pork shank and it fell off of the bone it was so tender. The steak my husband got was cooked to perfection and so well seasoned. The tres leche cake was also sublime. We originally dined here because it was the only well-rated place that was open on a Monday night but next time we visit Woodstock we’ll seek it out regardless of what else is open because we were so impressed by the quality of flavors and the service!

Delicious Caribbean cuisine in a sleepy little New England town, who would have guessed?? If dining with others, I strongly recommend ordering from the tapas menu and sharing! Also reasonably priced.
Adanna O — Google review
Food The food was good, and the drinks were phenomenal. The reason I didn’t give it a five star rating is because the food wasn’t perfect. The empanadas had too much dough, so the wrap was too thick. The garlic shrimp sauce was top notched, and I could have drank the sauce by itself, but the shrimp itself was bland. The scallop was not bad, but it didn’t go well with the risotto. The desserts were good, but again not great. Everything else The service was good.
Xin Z — Google review
The service at this restaurant was impeccable. I didn't have a reservation at peak dinner time and they squeezed me in! My girlfriend got the pumpkin bisque, which she really liked. The chimichurri steak was also delicious, and so were their salmon.

Mon Vert Cafe is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, offering modern breakfast and lunch options made with organic ingredients. Named after the Green Mountains of Vermont, this cafe serves a variety of delicious items from their full coffee bar, including scones and muffins. The menu features breakfast burritos, Challa French toast, North Country BLT, and Cobb Salad. The cafe prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients to provide a taste of Vermont.
Mon Vert Café is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is cozy, bright, and inviting—perfect for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. You can tell right away that everything is thoughtfully sourced and freshly made. I had the avocado toast with a poached egg and it was beautifully done—crisp bread, flavorful toppings, and perfectly seasoned. The coffee is excellent too—smooth and strong, just how I like it. The staff was friendly and attentive, even during the busy morning rush. There’s also a nice variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options, which is a big plus. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or lingering over a latte, this place hits all the right notes. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Woodstock!

Nice restaurant for a quick snack, breakfast, lunch or just a coffee. We had the pesto chicken sandwich and the breakfast burrito. Both were fine and satisfied our hunger.

I stopped in for breakfast while staying nearby attending the Flow State mountain biking festival. I loved the how the coffee shop was setup and also their decor! The service was super friendly. Coffee was very good as was the lox bagel I ordered. The main street it's on looked very nice, too. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town riding my MTB somewhere nearby!

Want to start by saying if you come during the peak season in the fall expect a wait. I came the first weekend in October and based on reviews I’d read before coming I knew it’d be very busy and I’d have to wait so I didn’t have an issue with that. I had the sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and the maple latte, they were okay but I didn’t think it was worth the high price or the wait.
Ashley M — Google review
This restaurant was recommended by a dozen TikToks and reels, praising their food and how this was a must. Spoiler alert: for us, it wasn’t. Mon Vert Café consists of long lines until you order and bland food. I will say this though: their pumpkin spice latte was incredible.

7-20-25. Extremely popular and very crowded for a lunch scene. Sandwiches are deliciously packed with flavor but I found them small in size. Cheapskate portion of two quarter coin size pickles and no other side Ike chips unless you purchase them separately. Conveniently located water containers so you can help yourself. We sat upstairs and that quickly filled up and became loud and very warm, I suggest eating outside if the weather permits. If the outside dining is full take your meal to go and walk a minute south to the beautiful town common area where you will find benches and tables. If this review was helpful please let others know. Thanks

Great breakfast spot. Very busy and they did a good job serving everyone and getting people in and out. I like how you order at one spot and they gove you a buzzer, then they bring your food to the table and take the buzzer. Good system they have and great environment =]

Really friendly service, visited a couple times. Decent coffee and I love the older and ‘not fresh’ bakery items which are sold at a reduced price to stop food waste, great idea. The breakfast burrito was great, my only gripe was that the panini was really quite dry and did not have much Garlic Aioli in it at all. Would visit again!

Soulfully Good Cafe is a charming breakfast and lunch spot in Woodstock, offering indoor seating and a breezy outdoor patio where even your furry friends are welcome. The cafe has an old-fashioned, relaxed vibe that adds to its small-town charm. It's known for its excellent sandwich and salad options, such as the Pear, Chicken and Blue Salad or their delicious paninis.
This is a smaller café with a cozy, homey feel that was very busy and was definitely the popular place to be! The staff were all welcoming and I thought it was nice how there was a younger girl who brought your food to the table, she was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed! I ordered a S’mores Latte and the Soulful Cuban sandwich (without cheese), both were delicious—though I did miss the pickle that usually comes with the sandwich. The latte was great especially after I added a bit more syrup to enhance its flavor. Despite a 25-minute wait for our sandwiches, the quality of the food made it worth it, and I look forward to returning!

Really loved my visit to this cozy little café. The avocado toast was simply perfect—creamy avocado topped with a perfectly cooked egg that was just the right amount of runny. Also please try the apple caramel latte! Tasted sooo good🥰

The food was absolutely delicious, especially the chocolate croissant. It was warm, flaky, and tasty. The breakfast burrito was also very good. The chipotle aioli was perfect with the fresh eggs. The hot chocolate also helped bite through the cold winter weather. Everyone in my party agreed that the food was great. It did take a while to come out because everything is freshly made. It is very busy, but for a good reason. The only other negative is the fairly high price, but it is worth it for the food.

Soulfully Good Cafe was online-recommended for a “quick” lunch. We did buy take out lunch but definitely not quick, we waited for more than a half hour. It is near the inn where I stayed. I came back for a breakfast the next day partially because of the friendly and warm middle-aged cashier lady, partially because of its artful environment. The foods are fine, not great.

I had The Local without meat and added a avocado. Very good vegetarian option The croissant tasted fresh. Also I had the waffle with berries, a generous portion of the barriers. They have all variations of espresso drinks but I only had drip coffee which was decent. Be prepared for long line on Saturday morning.

I went there for breakfast as the other place we went was fully packed. It was a good alternative option. The food was tasteful, but it was a bit overpriced. I had a cheese panini ($12) and it was delicious but a bit small (see pic). There's a long queue to order and to go to the restroom.

Because we are next to Soulfully Good, we eat there more regularly than most. Even so, we would go out of our way as the food is yummy and well presented. This talented family team puts their heart into their business bringing southern hospitality to Woodstock. It’s definitely the best food for the price. We love it. They now have killer A/C so it’s always comfortable inside and the courtyard is cozy. PS… try the scones; the peach scone is like eating southern peach cobbler. Awesome!

Great ice cream shop, great service and great ice cream. Highly recommend. We got the Vermont Flannel Sunday, and I highly recommend sharing it with someone. It was just enough for two people for a snack. Staff was helpful with our questions and the place was clean.

Honestly - this was the best soft serve I have ever tried. The Maple Creamy flavour was sensational. Toppings were good. Friendly service. Also has affordable merch, $22 a t shirt and jumpers just over $30, worth checking out. Will visit again each time I am in Woodstock.

Passing through town we decided to enjoy a Vermont creamy and glad we did. Found this gem right on the main drag and the maple creamy was worth the stop. Lots of different options to choose from, my wife had the maple raspberry creamy swirl. Whether you are visiting for a bit or, like we were, just passing through, take a few minutes to enjoy a sweet treat.

Cute little shop with a good maple creamee, they were out of sugar cones when I went so I got the bowl. They also had maple syrup for sale inside and we took advantage of that as well…the creamee was really good with great taste and texture and we loved the maple sprinkles. Just beware if you go in peak season like I did that the lines could be really long but it does move quickly!

Woodstock Scoops is such a fun and charming stop in the heart of Woodstock, Vermont! It’s a small local ice cream shop that perfectly captures the cozy, welcoming vibe of the town. The place smells amazing as soon as you walk in — fresh waffle cones, creamy vanilla, and that hint of maple that Vermont is known for. Their maple creemee is a must-try, rich and smooth with that perfect balance of sweetness. They also have classic scoops, seasonal flavors, milkshakes, and sundaes, all made with care and high-quality ingredients. The staff are super friendly and patient, even when the line gets long on a sunny afternoon. It’s the kind of place that makes you smile instantly, whether you’re a kid or an adult. Grab your cone and stroll around the village green or sit by the nearby bridge to enjoy it — pure small-town joy in every bite!

9/25 - A must have in town we were told on our NE bus trip. The line moved right along. Pumpkin was the second flavor so maple/pumpkin swirl was both of our choices except I paid the extra buck for a waffle cone.

The hot fudge here is as good as I’ve ever tasted and you get absolutely loads. I got the mint cookie flavour, which was a really interesting and unique one that I’d not had before; I really liked it. Prices are reasonable and service was quick despite the shop being really busy. Is there anything better than strolling through a beautiful town with a decent ice cream and taking in the sights? I don’t think there is. Highly recommend this place if you’re in town.

There is always a queue here but for good reason! It’s so good! The maple creamee is delicious as is the maple walnut ice cream. The VT flannel sundae is well worth trying too. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch and people watching. The prices aren’t bad and it’s really good ice cream. It’s worth joining the line. I also liked that they had a good playlist to listen to whilst waiting!

I'm a wedding photographer and I took my couple to do their first look over at this bridge! Was so magical and so incredibly Vermont. Stunning from every angle!

We were passing through the area last fall and when we noticed the bridge, we were compelled to take a drive across it (and back). Walking across is also an option. I like the nostalgic look and feel of the covered bridges- especially the ones I find while driving/exploring in Vermont. It’s a nice, free activity.
K L — Google review
It's a nice looking bridge but not worth traveling as a tourist to see. If you're in the area and find a place to park then stop and take a look but because it is a functional bridge you may not necessarily get a chance to go through it on foot without disrupting traffic. Although, I'm sure there are times of the day that they may not have as much cars coming though. Also, there is no parking for this attraction.

As a piece of history, it’s beautiful and wonderful. And now as a tourist attraction, it’s causing quite the traffic jam. There was no chance of parking and walking around the cute town on a Friday afternoon at noon. We drove through it and traffic forced us to keep moving along.

Cool sight. A part of me wonders if this bridge may have been the one that inspired to use a bridge in the film: "Beetlejuice"; especially since he did film parts of that movie not far from here.

Farmhouse Pottery

Home goods store
Located in Woodstock, Vermont, Farmhouse Pottery is a must-visit destination for handmade tableware enthusiasts. The store offers a beautifully curated collection of handcrafted plates, bowls, mugs, and more set amidst natural tablescapes. Visitors can also take pottery classes to learn the art of working the pottery wheel and create their own pieces. The Wheel Workshop provides an immersive experience in the live workshop environment where participants can observe potters at work while creating their own pieces.
Just down the road from the Woodstock village, Farmhouse Pottery is a must visit! They have an open studio and we loved watching the potters work. They even took the time to give us a small tour. I've used my new mug every day since I visited and I love it so much!
Hello J — Google review
I absolutely love my new pair of Marbled Stone mugs! I enjoy having tea in the morning and I usually fill the cup very close to the top. Because of the gradual taper of the cup and it's well-formed lip, the tea does not slosh out when I carry it to my seat from the kitchen like it does with the other cups I have purchased online. And besides the understated natural beauty of the mugs, I have noticed that these mugs keep my tea hot much longer than those that are mass-produced from other retailers. The last sip after I finish breakfast is still warm enough to enjoy without reheating, where tea in my mass produced mugs cools very quickly requiring several reheats in the course of one meal. I highly recommend these handmade custom mugs to anyone who enjoys a good cup in the morning.

Izzy was the most amazing teacher. She was great at helping us thoroughly understand spinning pottery techniques while making sure our end products looked professionally done. She's got some skill that one, and a fun, patient and kind approach to teaching! She's a keeper.

As a potter i was so pleased to see an " open studio " sign on the door. The ladies were super informative and educational. They were also a lot of fun, we really enjoyed our meet up. Authentically. Thank you.

Very nice place! I got a quick lesson with the artists and they showed us how they make pottery. I really like all the items. The store is clean and totally friendly staff. The place has nice parking also. They have these floor mats that are totally cool!

I cannot sing enough praises about Farmhouse Pottery and their one-of-a-kind artisan pieces. From their Silo dinner plates to their pantry candlesticks to their mouth-blown tea lights, we have gotten so many compliments about a recent tablescape we designed using their tabletop elements. The quality of each item is so good you can feel it… we basically want to buy their entire inventory now :)

This was the most intimate experience. The staff were amazing! They were patient, kind and had such a positive attitude. You could tell they loved what they do and are passionate about making pottery. I wish the experience was longer! My husband and I had a blast. We would totally visit again.

F. H. Gillingham & Sons

General store
F. H. Gillingham & Sons is a historic country store that has been serving customers since 1886. The store offers a diverse range of products, including hardware, sporting goods, local cheese, toys, fishing supplies, and even locally made maple peanut brittle and syrup. Visitors can explore the store's extensive selection of items such as foodstuffs, pet supplies, candy, handcrafted wood products, wine, leather goods, hunting and fishing gear, games and more.
We stopped here to look around this general store while spending a long weekend in New Hampshire. This store attracts a lot of foot traffic from people looking around, but they sell a little of just about everything. They even have a fake mustache section… In the candy section, I even found they have Junior Caramels besides the usual Junior Mints! This store has been here for a long time and is still cool to this day. The staff is friendly.

F. H. Gillingham & Sons is an absolute must-visit when you’re in Woodstock, Vermont! This old-fashioned general store has been around since 1886, and you can feel the history the moment you step inside. The creaky wooden floors, vintage shelves, and cozy atmosphere make it feel like time slowed down in the best way possible. You can find a little bit of everything here — Vermont maple syrup, local cheeses, candy, souvenirs, outdoor gear, kitchen tools, and even clothes. It’s the kind of place where you go in for one thing and end up exploring for an hour. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and clearly proud of the store’s heritage. Everything feels genuine and thoughtfully curated, not touristy. I loved the local food section and the nostalgic touches all around the shop. It’s a perfect mix of old and new, and you can tell it’s a true part of the Woodstock community. A classic Vermont experience you shouldn’t miss!

F.H. Gillingham & Sons is quite the General Store! I'd have to say it has everything from general foodstuffs, items for pets, candy and more candy, hand crafted wood, a huge selection of wine, leather wallets, hunting and fishing wear, games, and everything else. They have a super cool original Otis elevator. There's a lot to say about this store, but just go there and find out for yourself.

If you are a visitor to Woodstock, Vermont, step into F.H. Gillingham and Sons. This is my favourite country general store! They practically have everything: Vermont souvenirs, Vermont craft beers, wines, groceries, candies, books, toys, kitchen wares, fishing gear, etc. Every week I drive into Woodstock and visit this store to buy some Moxie soda pop: a New England favourite! If Coca-cola and Dr. Pepper had a love child, she would be Moxie! Visit in December and you will find lots of edible Christmas goodies: German gingerbread and stollen, British Christmas puddings and mince pies. The staff are delightfully friendly and the store has that rustic village charm that feels authentic and inviting.

While in Woodstock, VT last week we stopped in this general store. It is really cool and takes you back in time... Lots of everything there. It's a classic place from a time that is only a memory for many of us. Bought a few items.. you just have to. I'm sure you will enjoy as much as we did.

Fun little store you'd be silly not to visit when roaming the beautiful streets of Woodstock. Pricey, but it's pretty standard for these country / five & dime stores.

Housed in a 200-year-old red brick heritage building, the restaurant offers upscale intercontinental and American dishes. It features a fine dining area, bar, prix fixe and bistro menus, vegetarian options, and occasional specials. Reservations are recommended to experience the superb service and expertly prepared fresh and delicious food.
Amazing place for dinner. We had the 75 course meal which was perfect. Our server was awesome and attentive. Food was great!
Natalie A — Google review
For a restaurant that only serves a prix fixe menu, I was disappointed that the food wasn’t as tasty. My smoked salmon appetizer didn’t have any smoke flavoring, so it tasted just like any lox and the pasta was over cooked and drenched in cream sauce. That said, the lamb in puff pastry and the duck entrees were both excellent. Service was attentive.
Debbie C — Google review
A mixed bag. The soup was bland and tasteless. I love smoked salmon but this smoked salmon was pretty awful with an off taste and slimy texture. The toast it was served with had a break your teeth hardness. The pate was excellent but again served with the teeth breaking bread. The salad was delightfully fresh and the Salmon special was excellent. Appetizers offer the first impression and that salmon was such a turn off. The Margarita fell short of being a nicely crafted drink. It tasted like sweet and sour mixer with a splash of Mezcal. A basically empty restaurant and we were seated next to the servers station.

After many wonderful dinners here, I had my rehearsal dinner here and it was perfection. Liz and team made the night run so smoothly and the food was excellent. Rustic and charming.

The service and atmosphere couldn't have been better. Our waitress was wonderful and inside the restaurant was very cozy. The phone number on their website doesn't work, but the Google number is correct. But we were able to make reservations despite being last minute because we kept calling the number on their website. Anyhow, Our food was very good... we both took advantage of the fixed menu. I had prime rib, salad with bleu and ramp pasta. My companion had prime rib, salad with bleu cheese and poached pears with fried goat cheese with a wine reduction. First off our prime ribs were drastically different. Mine was cut much thicker where my husband's was A LOT thinner. I ordered mine cooked to medium he ordered medium rare. I would say they were both on the rarer side. The horseradish sauce and auju both fabulous. Rib was a little too fatty, but made the dog happy! Lol. Salads were both very good, fresh and ample cheesed. Pasta was good but not hugely ramp flavored. All this said the goat cheese and poached pear with wine sauce was AMAZING (see pics) The cheese was perfectly cooked with a light crispy outside. The pears and sauce perfectly complimented the cheese. If its on the menu, don't miss this wonderful appetizer. Also ordered a maple berry mule (it was not in the traditional copper). The drink was delish! Recommend!

I went to this place to celebrate my birthday because everyone told me it was the best place. I really loved their beet tartare. It was delicious. Main course was ok, cause I was super hungry. Service was ok, but my server for sure was not interested in me cause I was alone and not drinking 🤣 for example she put bread on top of the used teabag into the dirty plate, btw look at the size of the bread, huge piece)) I put it into the clean plate for pic)) I didn’t get why I have to pay alcohol tax if I didn’t drink, but it’s ok. When I asked for the check, even though I didn’t want to eat desert she bring me a birthday scoop. It was very nice of her. So in conclusion: it was ok

Food We came here the night before Valentine’s Day and they had a $80 prefixed menu. The food was mediocre at best. So were the drinks. We had the veil ravioli and cheese board for starters. The veil ravioli was not bad, but I wish they were smaller, so it would be at least easier to scoop it up. The cheese board was very good. Next was salad, which was worse than a homemade salad. For entrees, we had ribeye and rack of lamb. The ribeye was at least flavourful, but the rack of lamb had the lamb smell, which threw me off. I would say the smashed potato and the squash was the highlight of my entree. Lastly the dessert. The cream brûlée was okay, and thankfully the chocolate ice cream was very good. Everything else They borrowed the gallery shop next door to extend their dining space during COVID, which was an interesting experience. The service was really nice and our waitress was friendly and attentive. I would have given a five star to the service, but unfortunately the food was not worth $80 per person.

Ski resort
Saskadena Six is a family-friendly resort that offers skiing and snowboarding in the winter, as well as mountain biking in the summer. The alpine lodge features a restaurant, and there's an expanding trail network with flowy berms, jumps, and a skills area for learning new tricks. The resort provides complimentary strider bikes for little ones to enjoy. Despite not being huge, the mountain offers a steady pitch all the way to the base area with delectably steep groomers.
Awesome small mountain in VT. Decent to access, on the Indy pass. Great old school vibe, decent runs and a good challenge. Want no lines and no frills but a great experience? Go to S6.

Amazing!! This is such a fun little mountain! Huge variety in the terrain given the size - anyone from a beginner to an advanced skier (or boarder) will be able to find something fun and challenging. The uphill routes are beautiful. The glades are fun. The groomed trails are well done, with fresh corduroy in the morning. The lodge is full of character, offers good seating and food, and has an adorable little bar. Everyone working here was friendly and helpful, from the ticket desk worker, to the woman running the little shop (they had some cute apparel and sick stickers, among other things), to bartender, to the ski patrol. Everyone. One lady even recognized me hours later and asked if I had liked the trail she’d recommended (I did). It is super family-friendly )and for those families with kids who are learning to ski independently, there is one lodge so no one can get really lost!) They work with VT Adaptive, they are respectful of the indigenous community, and they are just all-around inclusive. The prices are extremely reasonable compared to many northeast mountains. I truly cannot say enough good things about this incredible local gem. I LOVE S6 💜

Saskadena Six (formerly Suicide Six) at 247 Stage Rd in South Pomfet, VT is a little hidden gem. The drive to it is full of gorgeous farms and views and then the ski area itself, tho very small, is welcoming, and the terrain is challenging! We skied here because it’s part of the Indypass family and it’s on the way to my sister’s home. I’m so glad we stopped! The hubs loved the long, top to bottom beginner trail, which has some curves and turns on the way down. I liked the steeper trails. The parking is easy, though watch out for that slippery ice! They didn’t seem to salt or sand the parking area, so it was pretty sketchy, as was the bridge to go up to the lodge. But just be careful and you’ll be fine. We loved the retro feel of the lodge, and are looking forward to going back for a day this winter, as we head north to other larger areas. We love supporting the smaller independent resorts! No matter your ability, check it out!

Great spot, on the Indy Pass. Family friendly with a great,, enclosed magic carpet. The base lodge was fine, tough lines on holiday weekends for food but seriously it's a ski spot so bring your own food (chili was mediocre). The face run on the front is the cool attraction and the wall of history as this was the first place ever to have a tow rope is cool. We had girl scouts selling cookies outside which made our day! It's a small mountain so check out the trail map and realize there is only 1 summit lift. It is a blast for a family and their ski school folks did wonder with my young kids.
Stephen F — Google review
Pros: Nice magic carpet. Employees in the rental shop are super kind and helpful. Nice lodge with a mini-museum showing the resort’s history. It is on the Indy pass. Cons: On holiday weekend, only one lift was open, and there was long line as a result. They did not use RFID and instead issue a paper ticket with some metal hook that I’ve never seen, before having been to 10+ resorts in the Northeast. Really stressful if you don’t install it properly and lose it because they can’t deactivate the lost ticket and issue a new one.
Ngoc T — Google review
This was a really nice, low-key mountain to visit with a beginning skier. I used to live nearby and drove past here in favor of Killington all the time, but decided to visit with an Indy Pass redemption. I'm glad we came here. There was plenty of easy terrain to keep a beginning skier busy, and there was zero hustle going on. The lodge was easy to use though a little packed with all the ski racers, but the staff made sure that everything ran smoothly. I'd like to visit again!
Daniel C — Google review
What a gem! From the parking lot you get a nice vantage of the front of the mountain. First thing I noticed is although the mountain isn't huge, the steady pitch all the way to the base area, looks to make up for it. The groomers from afar looked delectable and generously steep. The cool cat walk approach from the parking lot got me excited to hit the mountain as it drew nearer. As I got closer it was apparent they put together good, man-made snow conditions for what's been a lousy snowfall year. Not icy, with quality grooming everywhere. The main quad seemed to have the uphill capacity to keep the lines to under a minute wait, even when the parking lot was filled with cars. Can't say that about other resorts. The lodge is cute as heck and clean! Gas fire pits outside, with the wind screens, is a nice touch. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, all the amenities in a small package. 100% recommend to families and to any experienced skiers and riders looking for a relaxed day to stack up some vertical feet. Enjoy!

Bride & Groom had a Hawaiian theme party the day after the wedding on Friday night. 100 people participated. Fabulous use of a ski area in the summer if you want to plan a party. Woodstock Inn provided bus from the Inn the slopes for everyone. We did take our own car. Woodstock Inn catered the event and the food was fantastic. The band was spot on. I have loads of movies that I can't post for the entire weekend.

I stopped here briefly while in town to have a martini and read a good book. I enjoyed my time in the cozy place. Great atmosphere and the bathroom is clean but small. You must walk upstairs to get to the restroom. The service was fantastic and the bartender was attentive. I did not eat their food so I can not judge the quality of their food offerings.

Tried this place despite the recent reviews. It did seem understaffed, they were out of first few beers I asked for, and the meal came out 30 seconds after they delivered the appetizer. But the food was very good, we were seated in this cute little nook over the windows and the service was friendly. Also the restrooms are located up a scary looking staircase leading to an obviously haunted part of the old building. FUN!

Sitting here still waiting for food, it's been 45 minutes. I haven't even seen our server in 30 minutes. Doesn't really matter of the place is quaint or the food good if no one gets me more water or my food never comes. Edit: Food finally arrived, reasonably good, but nothing spectacular. Only had the waitress come to the table for the bare minimum, never came to check on us or our drinks. Overall not overwhelmed by the place

Food was pretty good. The resturant had a large wait time even though they had a section which had not been opened up for seating. The staff was talking to each about tour bus schedules so they knew how many people to expect and still seemed surprised by the amount of people. They did kept staff working later and tried to call in more help. Once seated the waitress was very nice. Food came out fast. The best part was the darling gentleman who brought the food and stayed on top of clearing our table and filling water. Very cute and personable! He was the highlight of the visit. Once our food arrived the waitress said she had to leave and someone else would take care of us. We watched her introduce us to the new server but we didnt see her for 45 minutes at which point she brought the check. Then we never saw her again. After another 45 minutes we scrounged all the cash we had and it was just enough to cover it so we could leave. We were there almost 4 hours total. 1.5 hours after the food was cleared waiting for someone to help us check out. Food was good and they had fun community centered nights they were advertising. I wouldn't not visit, just be aware you may have to wait.

Service was slow and everything has this tang sauce on it. Let me tell you what, not everything is better with a tang sauce. They should recreate the menu or food staff. Either make food for the par of food staff or get food staff that can actually make quality food. The whole family was disappointed every one from the 8 year old to the 91 year old. I hope to hear if good changes next year when I visit for Wasselfest.

Pretty decent food I wish there was a little bit more diversity with the food not just basic items. Staff is pretty nice they never really make conversation with me even though I come in for fries quite often. The restaurant is in town though and it’s pretty easy to get to seeing that it is in the middle of town. So all around pretty decent restaurant.

Walked in, the lady that sat us was really nice. After that however it was very poor. We waited twenty minutes with no service at our table. The waitress on staff looked me in the eyes twice and completely ignored us. I can understand that it could be busy for her but even just letting us know that would have been great. Overall a very poor experience.

Thank you for your reply. While I understand that restaurants can face challenging customers, I assure you that our group was respectful and simply expected the level of service that matches your pricing. Being told “can’t you read the menu” when asking a question is not acceptable under any circumstances — regardless of how you feel about our demeanor. You claim the food was perfect, yet all four steaks came out cold, and two had sauce when specifically requested without. Reheating food rather than correcting the mistake is not something most guests would consider “impeccable” service. Whether the person at the bar was the owner or not, the more concerning point is that no one on staff acknowledged the poor experience — including yourself now, except to deflect and insult. A simple apology would’ve gone a long way. Instead, your response only reinforces our decision not to return. I hope in the future, you take feedback as an opportunity to improve rather than an excuse to attack your guests. Visited a friend for the weekend. He recommended we go here. We sit down at the bar and was served by Ivonne. She was extremely rude. I had a question about the menu and the sauce that comes with the steak. Her response to me was "can't you read the menu". Are you kidding me!!! 4 of 5 of us ordered steaks which at $45 a pop was expensive. 2 ordered plain steak and was covered in sauce. All 4 steaks came out very cold. Sent back used same steak just reheated. We order 8 apps which were decent but over priced. Overall the place was expensive compared to the service we received. Once we left, my friend told me the person that was sitting at the bar to the left of us was the owner of this establishment. He saw what was going on and that we were not happy. Guess what no apology or even acknowledgement of the situation. We will never be back to eat at this place.

We are so glad we found this place. It was a great experience. My husband and I were there celebrating his 50th birthday weekend and wanted a special dinner. We had bar seat reservations and the hostess who seated us also took our order. I was SO thrilled they had mocktails! (As a suggestion, it should be on the wine/beer menu. We had to ask about it!) And then I was asked if I wanted fruity, citrus or spicy. I chose citrus and had the very coolest drink. I ordered another! Everything is tappas style so you order to share. We ordered raw oysters, whipped ricotta toast with fig jam, teriyaki pork tacos and the chocolate mouse. All the food was literally INCREDIBLE except the mouse. It had no sweetness at all and we strongly disliked the cherries on top. The only good thing about it was the little shortbread cookie. We'd try something else for dessert next time. The other downside was no one asked how we were doing or if we needed anything the entire time we were seated. Our ricotta toast had been forgotten and we had to flag someone down in order to ask about it even though the people next to us had all their courses before we did though they were seated much later than us. I felt a little forgotten overall. BUT the service was all met with a smile and kindness! I would still go back!

Known for its focus on farm-to-table dining, the restaurant sources quality ingredients such as Mangalitsa pork, showcasing a passion for inventive and delicious dishes.
This is a very small restaurant located in the major street, Central Street, of Woodstock. It’s cozy and somehow laid-back—-a typical Woodstock style. Delicious foods, friendly and warm service. Definitely worth to try. It has only 8 tables, so you’d better make reservation. I really like its small plate of seared scallops!
Michelle L — Google review
I am a big fan of Mangalitsa pork, when looking for a breeder who can sell me meat I found Matt who told me he also owned a restaurant with the same name. Mangalitsa is the best farm to table restaurant in this area and likely in VT. In addition the staff is super nice and everything feels more like a family meal, e.g. the chefs bringing the food to the table or the owner taking orders and serving drinks. The restaurant is also very small, so that every dish is prepared to order and it feels private and homey. The food is great and the chef has a talent to create surprising but delicious flavor combinations. Our meal was overall on the heavy side, since we ordered meat, meat and meat but you can also make it light depending on the dishes you order and how much food you order. Also note that they are working on a new place for the restaurant that is located on the farm where the porks are bred. The menu changes frequently so we will back soon.

Mangalitsa is a fantastic little restaurant right in downtown Woodstock, just a short walk from the Woodstock Inn. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is attentive and the food and cocktails are equal parts inventive and delicious. Each member of the small team is passionate about the ingredients and dishes on the menu and the chef himself often brings plates to the table. I have eaten there twice now, the first time I had a wonderful heirloom tomato and burrata salad, a crudo with a fish the chef had specifically brought in that week, and seared scallops with charred vegetables. The second time I had a refreshing salad of cucamelons and tomatoes and then split a new preparation of seared scallops with corn and crispy potatoes and the seared duck breast. At each visit I took recommendations on which cocktails to order and was not disappointed. Everything I have had at Mangalitsa was beautifully balanced with interesting flavors and was downright delicious. The menu changes constantly in response to the season and which special ingredients the chef has on hand. If you want a special meal the next time you are in Woodstock this is absolutely the place to go.

The chef does a wonderful job with extremely tasty and innovative menus which regularly change. My wife had a superb curry pumpkin soup while I had seared jalapeño crusted albacore tuna to start. Mushroom risotto and a perfectly cooked grilled swordfish. I had a bottle of Eden Cider to start - need to find stockists of that ! With pre dinner drinks, a glass of wine, starters, mains and one dessert it came to $140 for 2. We reserved by email a week prior as we heard it is very popular. Our B&B owners were surprised we got a table.

Best dining experience we’ve had since moving to the Upper Valley! I only wish we had discovered this hidden gem sooner. We wandered into Mangalitsa spontaneously on a Wednesday night—after losing power at our house and seeking respite from the heat—and were pleasantly surprised by the bustling yet cozy atmosphere. This is a unique and special space with careful attention to detail, a passion for food and drink, and impressive hospitality. We will absolutely be back!

As if there wasn't reason enough to visit charming Woodstock, Vermont! But if for no other reason, dine at Mangalista. My husband and I are devoted foodies and we both agree this is hands done the best dining experience we've ever had. The attention to detail, perfectly executed meals and expert service are beyond compare. Nick (chef), Matt (manager/owner) and Lynn (hostess/server) are all friendly, down to earth and also exceptionally knowledgeable and it is apparent that the Magalista is a true labor of love. From the eclectic servingware and decor to the locally sourced and inventive meals and cocktails.... just perfection! I was so pleased I gave Nick a hug on my way out 😜. Thank you again everyone at Managlista!

Had an amazing meal here for my mom’s birthday. Food was incredible. Taste, originality, attention to detail were all on point. Service was wonderful too. Would 100% recommend to anyone for an nice dinner out in Woodstock.

If you seek a unique experience enhanced by high quality locally-sourced farm-to-table ingredients, come to Mangalitsa! Owner Matt, chef Nick and hostess Lynn were very friendly, generous with their time, and have cultivated an intimate, well-appointed venue I begged them not to expand beyond by the end of the night! The succulent entrees top out at $36, so this is no budget meal, but for special occasions, and memory-making, I cannot recommend them more; Bravo!

Coffee shop
Abracadabra Coffee Co. is a beloved coffee shop and roastery that has garnered praise for its exceptional coffee and charming atmosphere. Visitors have raved about the smoothness of the espresso, the wide variety of high-quality beans sourced from different origins, and the impressive latte art created by skilled baristas. The shop's interior exudes charm, adding to the overall appeal of the experience.
Ladies Taran and Antoinette were working this morning. Love this place. So cute, and the trailer is lovely. Ordered a maple syrup latte, with only 2 pumps of the syrup. So divine! My friend ordered a horchattie coldie. She also loved it. Ate the cider donut, deliciousness. This is a must stop if out here!

I’ve traveled to a lot of different places in search of the perfect cup, from Man vs. Machine to Origin Roasters to Dreaming Man and honestly, Abracadabra is top tier. They don’t just roast magical beans; the thought and care put into the space, the merch, and the overall vibe is exceptional. If you’re in VT, or anywhere near Woodstock, don’t miss this roastery.

I absolutely love their Hottie Horchattie! I always get it iced but I'm sure it's just as amazing hot. ☕️ They also sell the pre-made Hottie Horchattie flavoring (made with maple syrup!) so you can add it to your coffee at home. Alternatively, you can also buy a Chug Jug of your favorite beverage in various sizes (which I've also done! So delicious!) They also have delicious maple creemees! 🍦 It's a bit off the beaten path but totally worth it, imo. I wouldn't mind if they stayed open a little later though. 😁 Don't forget your fur babies! 🐕‍🦺🐾🐩 While only service animals are allowed inside, they have a beautiful large grassy area behind and they provide poo bags (and picnic tables!)

Wife and I stopped while in town for a coffee and Waffles. Interior is nicely done with coffee served from a coffee trailer inside. I got a hot horchatti and my wife had a maple latte. We also got Waffles. Coffee was excellent, as well as the waffles. A nice spot a little out of the busy area of downtown Woodstock. If your in town, this is a great place to stop !

In love with the vegan affogato! Super creative drinks, complex coffee, and sublime vibe.

This has quickly become my very favorite coffee spot because of the outstanding espresso, fantastic baristas, and woodsy atmosphere. Every time I come, I am completely blown away by the high-quality espresso. Their cappuccino is 10/10! I HIGHLY recommend this spot for anyone coming to the area or even if it's a little out of the way (I drive 20 miles to get this coffee).

Came here on a Tuesday morning, it’s a cute spot that we didn’t expect to find in the area while visiting from out of town. Highly recommend checking it out for some fuel! We got a special latte, the happy meal and coffee beans to take home

Super cute coffee shop with vinyl as well! We ordered a latte, hot chocolate, and a waffle, and each were delicious. The employees were very friendly and fast with our drinks. We also bought a bag of their freshly ground coffee, and there's something so special about picking your beans and having them ground on the spot for you. The smell was absolutely amazing.
