Nature & Parks
Colt State Park spans over 464 acres of lush lawns, stone walls, and winding drives along the shoreline. It offers panoramic views of Narragansett Bay and is connected to the historic seaport town of Bristol through shared history. Visitors can explore four miles of bike trails, fruit orchards, and manicured lawns while enjoying outdoor activities like picnicking and cycling.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️ (2/5) Title: Let Families Enjoy the Sunset in Peace Rhode Island doesn’t offer a ton of great places to catch a sunset, so when the weather finally cooperates, it should be a chance for families to enjoy the moment. Unfortunately, park staff started announcing closing time right as the sun was setting—just loud enough to break the mood and rush everyone out. It wasn’t aggressive, just poor timing. The announcements felt more like checking a box than caring about the experience of the people there. What could’ve been a perfect family memory turned into a scramble to pack up and leave, right in the middle of something beautiful. It’s a shame. The park is gorgeous, the vibe was calm and respectful, but the early push to leave ruined what could’ve been the highlight of the week. All we're asking for is a little flexibility—let the sunset finish before clearing the place out.

We love Colt state park. We go running with a running group in the summers through the woods and through the paths during the spring. The whole place is very bike friendly and a great place to reserve a last minute picnic table for parties, typically there are lots available. We reserved one of the gazebos for our son’s birthday party and had a blast. It’s always a beautiful place to visit! Also very dog friendly.

This is an absolute gem in the heart of beautiful Bristol, RI. The park is teaming with life, bunnies, birds, deer, and of course people. Bristol, in itself is a quaint New England town filled with an interesting history, which is a must visit destination. If you are ever in the area, Colt State Park in all of its glory is not to be missed.

We love this place. So much space to do a lot of things outdoor from the beach to just relaxing and having a cookout with family or friends. Birthday parties, weddings, etc. And beautiful sunset ❤️

This is a fantastic Park whether you want to drive through walk jog or explore the woods and beaches. The myriad of stone walls foundations and Gates is amazing and beautiful. Is definitely worth the trip to spend an afternoon or a day checking the spot out.

Amazing panoramic ocean view, walking trail, lawn, chapel. Perfect to enjoy beautiful sunset. Gate closes at sunset.

Awesome park and a great place to go and relax and take a nice walk especially an evening at sunset
JOSEPH K — Google review
We visited Colt State Park on 7/3/2022. It was the Independence Day eve and it was fully packed with people out in son for picnic and get together. A beautiful summer day in the park which is nicely located at ocean / water front - who doesn’t want to be there. We also did a small family picnic outside at this place on a picnic table. There were ample green space areas out of some were camping pre booked site areas which were all full and park staff was present at those location entrance. There were ample opportunity for biking and 7 y.o fully utilized this opportunity. He couldn’t find any beach 🏖 at the area where we walked, that was near to fishing pier. But the long side walk next to ocean for walking/biking 🚶‍♀️ provides a decent experience if you have a patience to sit and relax. Update - 6/1/2024- returned back for a casual evening picnic with family and everybody just loved it. The 8 month old enjoyed her first 🌅 sunset view Update - 7/4/024 with our school time friend and family and 7/19/2025 with our friend and family - as expected both the occasions had great experiences.

Coggeshall Farm Museum is a living museum that offers a glimpse into the daily life of late 18th century Rhode Island farming families. The museum features heirloom plants, heritage-breed animals, and live interpretations of farm life by costumed artisans. Visitors can enjoy special events and activities such as maple sugaring, interacting with animals like pigs, chickens, and cats, and learning about traditional farming practices. The expansive grounds provide ample space for children to play and participate in crafts.
Maple Sugaring Days! Delightfully fun time maple sugaring! We played various 18th century games, carved a spile, tapped a tree, watched the maple water run, tasted the maple right from the tree, learned more about the process, and got to take home some finished maple syrup. Beautiful location and friendly folks.

What a welcoming group of docents! They made history come alive. Lots of animals for the kids to see. We loved Hobbes the Cat the best!

Hidden gem and historical museum within Colt State Park. Great for children and anyone that wants to see and learn how life was like in 1790’s. It’s a salt march tenant farm and they are dressed as they were back then. Can take a tour of the farm , gardens, and animals. Kids love it and the location is great being in the colt state park! Perfect day and stop on our tour. Great field trip for students too :)

Bought nonrefundable tickets a day in advance. It ended up being cold and rainy and not well marked. Almost turned around and left like another car but one other family and us parked unknowingly in the wrong area and found the Pilgrim Thanksgiving event. Was cute but don't need to rush back. Best for families with kids ~ages 5-8 years of age. Staff were knowledgeable. 1.5 hours was plenty of time to spend there. The friendliest outdoor cat wandering around then laid by a fire in an old cabin.

I wasn't impressed. We got in for free since we're members at Old Sturbridge Village. We came on a day they were doing a Sheep and Wool Festival. There were a good selection of vendors and some demonstrations. The property seem to have one barn and one house. Unless there was more I wasn't seeing. Parking was in a grassy field and it was raining. There was so much mud cars were getting stuck.

Great time at maple sugar harvest. Plenty of space for kids to run around. Staff is friendly. Kids were disappointed that there was no apple cider or Johnny cakes. Wish they were more prepared as that is advertised online.

Bristol Town Beach

Public beach
Recreation center
Bristol Town Beach, nestled next to Colt State Park on Asylum Road, is a delightful destination for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. This clean and well-maintained beach features essential amenities such as bathrooms, showers, and water fountains for your convenience. With ample recreational options including playgrounds, ball fields, tennis courts, volleyball areas, and scenic walking paths, there's something for everyone to enjoy. During the summer months, visitors can take advantage of safe swimming zones supervised by lifeguards.
I am visiting it in the Fall so I haven’t had to pay to park to go to the beach. I am sure the summer has more restrictions to avoid an overflow. This is a nice beach park. I enjoyed the walk tremendously and the quietness of November.
Virginie G — Google review
Lovely beach - lots of sports spaces and to run or hike. But - here’s the big but. Public land should be accessible for all. Poor or wealthy. $30- for a hard working family to access “public” land is absurd and excessive. People need nature to relax and enjoy time outside without having to pay a crazy amount of money. Capitalism is incompatible with this pursuit. Please lower the price for entry. Also the water in the beach was dirty and gross. At least clean the shore of the seaweed and litter. I would not go into that water. $30- is excessive. Please price entry for all to enjoy. Do better. Also vending machine with water and EV chargers would be nice. Other than that I would give 5 stars.
Eric V — Google review
Beautiful park! Great place for a picnic or a nice walk. Very clean and family friendly. They have volleyball court, play ground, beach, walking paths and more! They also have a public restroom which was surprisingly clean. Plenty of parking too.
E H — Google review
Clean beach!!! Bathrooms, showers, water fountain! Yes, they have a bubbler 😉 I fill my water bottle here. Porta potties everywhere when bathroom closed. Playground and food service. Covered tent you can rent for an event or just use whenever no one has rented it. Grills for cooking too!
Karen B — Google review
Nice little beach area, lots of shells. They have restrooms with outdoor showers and indoor changing areas. The parking seems good. They have basketball courts one is a low court with 9 foot rims, the other full size is just ok, rims are a little bent. They have an enclosed street hockey rink, bacci ball courts , and baseball fields, also a small skate park. Little playground area with swings. Connects over to Colt State Park also.
Charles R — Google review
The water and beach itself were NOT appealing. There was a lot of seaweed, rocks, and sooo many shells! Ouch! The playground, picnic area, beach volley ball court, and nearby sports complex are nice though and it was nice to see so many families and groups out enjoying nature.
Tiffany R — Google review
What a nice beach, I’ll have to come back when I have nerve to get in. My grandson did a new years plunge. There was a lady there doing it too.

Independence Park is a large waterfront park in Bristol, RI. It hosts a concert series in the weeks leading up to July 4th, featuring food trucks and requiring early arrival for seating. The park offers public restrooms and can be accessed via public transportation from Providence through RIPTA bus 60. Even when there are no events, it's a beautiful place for a leisurely walk with historical significance and cultural charm.
Great place. Dogs were leashed. People were considerate of others. There's a food place right next to the park that has nice Gelato and what looked like a restaurant. Parking is a little tricky, and 2 hour max, but worth the trip. Good night life across the street, too.

Independence park is a quaint little park where you can go to stroll along the water or even to go to the farmers market if they are having one. Large open space that is kept very well by the town and is a great spot for meeting people or just hanging out on a nice day.
Jack F — Google review
This is great, adorable little park. It is just large enough to accommodate outdoor events, and even concerts. We went last week, for the first time, to celebrate the Japanese-American Festival. There was a great turnout, complete with the U.S. Navy band. There is a great view of the bay with several benches available to relax and watch the sunset. Parking is also relatively easy to come by with a lot adjacent to the park.

Trail head for the East Bay bike path but includes a boat ramp, dock, and great view of the harbor.

Pretty and quiet place! Way too cold for this Kentucky girl in November 🤣
Machelle D — Google review
It's a large park, right on the water. In the weeks before July 4th, there is always a concert series playing. Please check the lineup. During the concert series there are many food trucks present. And come early to set up your chair. There is a public restroom close by. Parking can be tough at this time. There is public transportation from RIPTA, and the bus 60 goes directly from Providence to Bristol. Yhis is also a beautiful place to walk and enjoy when nothing is going on.

Bristol is a very special place and going there will make you feel that instantly. Independence Park is a wonderful historical environment. There is so much history and culture there to find. I haven't been in a little bit and walking around on a overcast day felt like it was perfectly Sunny and a gorgeous day outside. Bristol just has that effect on me. I was able to get some very pretty photos. Not as many as usual but I believe you will get a total sense of how pretty it is there. The best part is people walking around they're all very kind. It almost feels like the good old days and everybody is just happy being out and about. Enjoy your time there! If you like my review please give me a thumbs up 👍 and feel free to follow me for future reviews. Enjoy your day!

On my first visit to Portside Tavern, I was impressed by the diverse selection of menu options. The appetizer that stood out to me was the grilled brie, which came with pesto, roasted garlic cloves, and adorable small red peppers. My only suggestion would be to also grill the baguette slices for added flavor. While the mussels frites were average, both the broth and fries could have benefited from more seasoning.
This is the first eating here. Visiting my college buddy from Rhode Island with my roommate Andy Kelly We had a Crab Cake and Turkey Club sandwiches with pickles and French fries Service was great. Andy says you have to come for the pickles. Lol
Valentino J — Google review
The restaurant located along the street. The food was served in a timely manner. The food was excellent overall. The service was decent. The cost is reasonable. The moules frites aren't that fresh, but the sauce they poured in was great and creamy. It was enjoyable to listen to the locals chatting on the street in front of the restaurant. The KOREAN BBQ WONTON NACHO was the highlight of our meal.
Tuy C — Google review
Went here for dinner and it was such a nice vibe. Waitress was so friendly and drink was good. Be warned, you only will need the one drink because they are very strong. Food was really good. I recommend the calamri app, and the pork chops with the mashed. I would come here for a quiet/ date settings. They have paid street parking across the street
GIGI — Google review
Our food came out in a reasonable time. The meal was very good all the way around. It was also fun to hear locals gather on the street in front of the restaurant to gossip, but it was hard to hear people at my own table sometimes.
Thomas P — Google review
Nice place to bring the family. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Booths for kids indoors. Good beer selection. Food is great. We've been here a dozen times and each time we have had a really attentive and nice waitress.
Lincoln F — Google review
We had a walk in group of 18 on a Saturday afternoon. Not only were we accommodated quickly, our server (I really wish I remembered her name) was so friendly and accommodating. I have celiac, and she was confident in understanding the need for accommodations in the kitchen… which made me feel comfortable eating there. Everyone food was great, although the fries were a bit stale. 10/10 experience, would absolutely recommend
Kelsey K — Google review
Classic tavern feel with a more upscale menu than traditional bar food. The two appetizers we ordered were delicious, and the lunch entrees were almost as good. The only food critique I had from this experience was that the fries were not good at all. It always makes me stop for a second to think, how could you put this much effort into all you other food items, but fries is where you draw the line, a staple of tavern/bar food. Seems like an easy fix though. A nice spot overall.
Joe — Google review
Waited 10-15 minutes at the bar for someone to at least greet us, nothing, not even "we'll be with you in a moment". Two couples came in after and were immediately greeted with menus. We still waited. Couple of locals, directed us toward other places. It's not hard to just acknowledge the customer when they sit.

American restaurant
DeWolf Tavern is a high-class American eatery situated in a historic distillery, boasting a delightful harbor-view patio and an extensive assortment of rum. The service provided by a new waitress was exceptional; she was amiable and transparent about her knowledge, readily seeking answers when unsure. The steak, flawlessly cooked and accompanied by a heavenly reduction sauce, was thoroughly enjoyed. Despite not typically being fond of green beans, they were almost entirely consumed.
My husband and I celebrated our wedding at Bristol Harbor Inn on 8/10/2024 and working with DeWolf was a wonderful experience. Sherri made the planning process so easy and stress free - She went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. Guests loved the appetizers and plated meals, the food was delicious, and DeWolf provided excellent staff on hand for the entirety of the night. I highly recommend choosing DeWolf Tavern as your wedding day caterer!
Paige S — Google review
I ordered “to go” so I could sit by the harbor and was honestly shocked at what was served. A chef cannot just toss some random vegetables with cheap blended oil and mix in plain bucatini and call it “Pasta primavera” - especially for a mid $20s entree - yet that is what I received. No sauce base, no cohesion, just a spoonful of oil barely reminiscent of olive oil with a bad aftertaste. Yellow asparagus, two grape tomatoes, no flavor, no detectable spices… at least the mushrooms were okay. I will eat just about anything and everything but I couldn’t stomach more than a few bites of this dish. I had to take it back and management was nice enough to comp me a side salad. Very disappointing. A cheap Chinese takeout place would have done it better. On a positive note, the new hostess was polite and helpful.
Matt B — Google review
This was actually a surprise visit. We started at another restaurant, and left after one cocktail for several reasons. This led us to DeWolf Tavern as it was almost next door. The ( specifically Lobster Popover and Steak and Mushrooms) were amazing. The server was friendly, knowledgeable and a delight. We sat on the patio with a view of the water the beautiful summer like weather in October. We will definitely be going back to try the brunch. Definitely recommend.
Brian R — Google review
My now husband and I recently celebrated our wedding at Bristol Harbor Inn, catered by DeWolf Tavern, and we truly could not have asked for a better catering experience for our wedding. The coordination and communication with Sherri (DeWolf’s Event Manager) and her team was exceptional. From the initial planning stages to the final bite of dinner, the service provided by DeWolf Tavern was nothing short of outstanding. Every detail was meticulously handled, ensuring that our guests were not only satisfied but truly impressed. The caterer was also very accommodating to multiple guests with allergies and food restrictions. On the day of our wedding, the staff went above and beyond to personalize every detail, making sure that our preferences were met without any compromise. I was very confident that our wedding day would run smoothly and seamlessly with Sherri and DeWolf Tavern and they exceeded my expectations! The whole team truly understood our vision and made every effort to ensure our day was exactly as we imagined. If you're looking for a caterer/venue that offers not only a stunning setting but also exceptional service and attention to detail, we highly recommend DeWolf Tavern.

Came on a Saturday, place was pretty empty inside. The food was great and the young hostess was exceptional!!! She was pleasant, professional and attentive, we were all very impressed with her work ethics. However our waitress was quite absent during our entire service, which was really disappointing and can be overlooked if was so dead inside.
T Y — Google review
Good size portions, with an Indian flair. They are very accommodating with switching the sides. The vegies were a little oily, and the fish had a heavy dose of pepper. They were able to meet our needs for gluten-free options, but we needed to ask about each dish as the menu didn't mention it. The sauces on the swordfish and tandoori chicken were very flavorful. Service was great.

We came for an anniversary dinner. Food was all delicious and our waitress was incredibly attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and great for a date night. We got a table upstairs with a window overlooking the water which was beautiful.

Two words: THE FLOUNDER. Omg, what a dish! Kudos to the chef on this one. I'm from New Jersey and was recently visiting my friend, who RAVED about this place and about the flounder in particular. Man, she was right, as she was about the historic atmosphere. The Bloody Marys are great, too -- thank you, bartender! Nice job all around.

Quito's Restaurant and Bar

Seafood restaurant
Quito's Restaurant and Bar is a family-friendly seafood establishment that offers both indoor seating with a fireplace and outdoor dock seating. The food at Quito's is fantastic, with dishes like seafood casserole and seafood pasta cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, allowing for leftovers to take home. The stuffies are also highly recommended, although it's advised not to have more than one as they can be quite filling.
If you are visiting the area, Quito’s is a must try restaurant! The staff were really kind and the seafood was some of the best we have tried! The spicy calamari has a kick to it that really wakes up your taste buds. The oysters were sooooo fresh too! The lobster was a little hard to crack open but once opened, dipped the meat in the butter and it melted!! Overall great atmosphere too that allows you to have a meal by the water!
Sam L — Google review
Quitos is the perfect spot to go to get dinner if you are in Bristol. I would recommend having a reservation because it is normally packed during the warmer months. This restaurant boasts a nice seafood menu with many options. I would recommend getting the lobster roll. There were big juicy pieces of lobster in it on a warm roll. You can decide whether you want to get it cold or warm. Service was great despite it being a busy Friday night. I would recommend going if you are hosting someone from out of town or for a date night. Nothing beats being on the water.
Jack F — Google review
While the food is hit and miss, the view is spectacular. We were seated right on the edge of the patio by the water at sunset and got great pictures. I loved the lobster bisque, but my burger and salad were underwhelming. My wife had the cod with broccoli and it was a lot of food. We took more than half of it home. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive.

While vacationing in Rhode Island for the weekend, my fiancé and I decided to eat here one day and this is one of the best seafood restaurants we have eaten at! The food was amazing, as well as the service and atmosphere. It’s located right on the water and the scenery is perfect. The service was also great. I highly recommend the lobster bisque!! Easily the best I have ever had with CHUNKS of lobster 😋 I wish I didn’t live in New Jersey because I would definitely frequent here more often. The only negative I have is that for some reason my card wasn’t charged the full amount of the bill until 4 days after visiting!! 😳 our total bill was like $154 and for some reason only $48 was charged the day of with the remaining balance not being charged until 4 days later leaving my account to be overdrawn! Not sure why because I’ve never had that problem anywhere else, but the food was amazing so if I ever find myself in Rhode Island again, I’ll definitely go back! Only giving 4 stars due to the issue with charging my card late, but I’d still recommend the place!
Kimberley M — Google review
What a gem in Bristol, RI! We sat on the patio right by the water and loved watching the boats go by. The weather was perfect, the breeze made it even better, and the seafood was incredibly fresh! Drinks were delicious, and the place was very kid-friendly, which was a huge plus. We’ll definitely be back soon—highly recommend!

We came here to celebrate my son's birthday. Although we were seated pretty quickly. The wait for someone to come and acknowledge us or take drink orders was quite long. The food was just ok, I enjoyed the views of the water and the park outside the restaurant was great. Parking is a bit tight but we were able to find a good spot. I would give this place another try
Valerie W — Google review
Ok, let's start off with my server Lauren. She was at my table immediately after I was sat, got my drink right away. I knew I wanted the lobster roll, I was undecided on what soup or chower to get.. As she returned with my drink, I said which one.... she chimed in right away... lobster bisque... you want a bowl... if you get a cup you will want another.. Just get the bowl... I listened to Lauren and shortly there after, the ridiculous bowl of meat shows up with a light, very flavorful bisque type broth covering the insane amount of lobster meat... a hint of sherry perhaps? Bar none, no other bisque has ever come close to this quality as well as quantity of lobster.... not just random pieces, full claw meat chunks... insanity I tell you. I also ordered the lobster roll with the mayo. The roll is dwarfed and almost hidden by the illegal amount of lobster covering it, stuffed inside it, next to it... with a very very light mayo coating... perfect!!!! If i had a second empty roll, I could have made a second giant roll with the amount of lobster claw meat from the original roll. The lobster was firm and crisp in both the bisque as well as the roll.. not limp , not soggy... I believe that the meat in my roll and bisque was living a happy life in the bay until I ordered it... that's how fresh this meal was!!!!! I can't say enough about the service from Lauren as well as the obscene quantity and quality of lobster that I just consumed. It wasn't cheap, BUT it was absolutely worth the money I paid no question. Thank you my friends for an unbelievable lunch.

As out of towners due to fly out Boston in just a couple, we took a tip from a local friend that Quito's was the place for Lobster Rolls, something I'd only heard about. We got there early, and Chef Drake and crew got us squared away with excellent takeout where we each shared both the New England and Connecticut style rolls. Both where excellent, and the debate raged on over which was the best. Would absolutely recommend supporting this local small business which welcomed us with warm, inviting hospitality on a Monday morning. Wishing you continued success! Thanks for a great lunch!

The Beach House offers a beautiful outdoor seating area with ample free parking and a stunning view. The staff is friendly and attentive, allowing guests to enjoy cocktails for hours without feeling rushed. The atmosphere is lovely, and the jumbo shrimp are a standout dish. While the seafood can be hit or miss, the octopus may not be the best choice.
Went to Bristol for a lil Bday getaway. The wife chose The Beach House for dinner because it had a diverse menu and the scenery. Plenty of parking when we pulled up. Entered the restaurant and really enjoyed their choice of decoration. They have an assortment of seating options available, low top, high top, outdoor and bar. Ok wife is yelling cause I'm taking too long on writing this lol. We ordered our drinks and the bartender made them just right. Flavor and strength worked very well together. I had the clam chowder, she had the squash bisque. She emptied her bowl before I finished mine. That never happens because I enjoy food more than her. They were extremely good. Oh, almost forgot about the pork belly tostada. Not for lack of or dislike because I will definitely order it again. Our entrees got us we were pleased with the presentation. I chose to get the salmon. I tend to eat my sides before I dig into the my main. I tried the rice. It was good and balanced. Tried the spinach, good but a lil salty. I knew the salmon was going to be sweet, so I then paired the two together and wow. It's a dish worth repeating. They had a special for dessert, chocolate mousse cake. It made me very happy because the chocolate wasn't overwhelming and it was so smooth! We were very happy to go there and look forward to our next time there.

This restaurant is such a summer vibe. The views of the water are stupendous. There's not a bad seat in the house. The staff's beyond attentive and kind. Our waitress we usually get is so lovely. Loved chatting with her. She made our visit that much better. And let's not forget the food...OMG! I don't have the right words to describe how fabulous the food was. Every bite sent my taste buds dancing. Will most Definitely be back! It's a must check out spot.

Stunning waterfront view, nice patio seatings and bar with clever plant arrangements. Very much enjoyed relaxing lunch, our server was very attentive , although kitchen was a bit slow. They have ice cream store downstairs as well. -Be true to your school $10 interesting mocktail with mango , Thai basil, pineapple, coconut lime -chicken tenders $17 in buffalo candied bacon dry rub -Baja chicken sandwich $19 Perfectly grilled chicken with Pico de Gallo, mozzarella avocado, smoked tomato, onion aioli -Rustic Flatbread Spicy sausage and eggplant $17, mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, basil. Mozzarella was very fresh and creamy and tasty, but dough was too chewy. Think this place will become one of my favorites!

7.26.25 What a gem! We were biking, and the flowers and outdoor seating caught our eye, so we stopped for a bite and drink. The staff was cheerful and friendly. The fig flatbread was amazing. The views are stunning from the outdoor bar area and the indoors. Great place to people watch, too.

The main attraction of the Beach House is that it's next to the water and away from the foot traffic of the main stretch. The food is definitely great, plenty of lobster and crisp greens. I wouldn't say we found a defining dish on the menu though. You will spend a little more here than at some of the other establishments in the area. We ate on the patio at sunset and it was stunning.

My family and I had a great experience, from service to food!!! We went on a Sunday afternoon, they had live entertainment. I don’t recall the name of the entertainers, but it was two guys that sang and one played the guitar. We sat outside, enjoyed the water views!! Will definitely return again!!

We recently got married at the Bristol Harbor Inn and DeWolf Tavern and hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at The Beach House — and it was absolutely perfect. The dinner was phenomenal. The menu The Beach House team put together was outstanding, and the food exceeded everyone’s expectations. They reserved a private section at the back of the restaurant, which created such an intimate and comfortable setting for our group. After dinner, we seamlessly transitioned into a welcome drinks event in the same space. The staff handled everything flawlessly, making it so easy to bring all of our guests together to kick off the wedding weekend. Eric, the manager, was incredible to work with — attentive, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would recommend The Beach House to anyone planning a special event in Bristol.

Day 2

Proximity is everything
For day 2, we bundled attractions like Blithewold Manor, Gardens & Arboretum and Herreshoff Marine Museum and other places within a close range, so that the time it takes to travel between all of them is less than one hour. Combined with the average time people spend there, your day should take about 7 hours.

Blithewold Manor, Gardens & Arboretum is a 33-acre estate with a stunning mansion and expansive gardens overlooking Narragansett Bay. Originally owned by the Van Wickle family, the 45-room English-style summer manor is now open for group tours, showcasing family heirlooms and original furnishings. The seven award-winning gardens feature rare local and exotic plants, creating a serene and beautiful atmosphere.
Blithewold was the absolute PERFECT wedding venue and we are so grateful to Melissa, Erica, and the entire team at Blithewold for ensuring our day was incredible! Melissa and Erica were on top of every detail and extremely responsive to every question we had leading up to our wedding day. They were attentive to everything and made sure all our wedding day vendors were coordinated and knew exactly where to go and how to set up. The landscaping and gardens are absolutely stunning and we enjoyed the most magnificent sunset overlooking the ocean. And even though it rained on our wedding day, we had a magnificent wedding inside the mansion that perfectly accommodated our 107 guests. Would highly recommend Blithewold for your wedding and it's a beautiful place that my husband and I are looking forward to visiting.

The visitor center and gardens open at 10 the house and its tea room open at 11. This information wasn't very clear in online sources or even online ticketing. Gates open around 9:50. The visitor center had helpful staff who ran an orientation video and helped us plan a walk through the gardens. As an early April visitor the daffodils were the main feature. The house offers a warm welcome and provides a view of this family's life. Many garments from the time we're on view. The tea room space is lovely. It's a full tea. Reservations are recommended for the two tea times
Mary M — Google review
Beautiful and lots of seating throughout the property. We visited (May 8th) specifically check out the daffodils. To our dismay, there wasn't much in bloom. There's a couple of small areas with assorted flowers displayed, some sculptures, and different tree species. And you can tour the mansion.

This was a really fun and interesting place to visit. I loved learning all the history in the house, but I was disappointed you couldn't go upstairs to see the servants' quarters or see any pictures. There wasn't any historical information available about the basement either. Views of the water were beautiful! It was fun to imagine what it would be like to be rich and life there. I was very excited to see all the ground and gardens. It was very cool to see the Sequoia and different themed areas. I wish there was more information available on the summer house. You couldn't go in and there wasn't any information about what was inside or what its function was. The ideas garden was the best. The pollinators garden was mostly grass, underwhelming. The rock garden was interesting but overgrown, hard to see the rocks. The water garden was nice.
Katie D — Google review
It's a beautiful place to visit and see. The volunteers do a great job telling the history of the mansion. The grounds are also beautiful. Only 3 stars because the admission price of $22 per person seems high.
Hector C — Google review
An interesting look into the history of a turn of the 20th century wealthy family, but not of the same wealth as the homes in Newport. Blithewold feels like a regular house, devoid of opulence. The grounds can be nice depending on time of year, but they are not extensive or awe inspiring. It feels more like a back yard (a big back yard). The sequoias are interesting to see, though not large by Sequoia size standards.

Beautiful garden and grounds. So much to look at including the historic residence. Enjoyed coming here on multiple occasions. Lovely on a cool day by the sea.

There’s also a shop on site that includes a little art gallery and rest rooms. Don’t miss it. It’s worth spending some time. This place is affordable but not free. Appropriate for all ages. Located on the waterfront, Herreshoff Marine Museum is a captivating complex that showcases restored boats, racing memorabilia, and the prestigious America's Cup Hall of Fame. The museum is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the renowned Herreshoff Manufacturing Company, founded in 1878 by brothers John Brown and Nathaniel Greene Hereshoff. Visitors can explore an impressive collection of wooden boats and learn about the history of boatbuilding and steam engineering.
Thirty some wooden boats, including Capt Hereshoff's first boat, built with his brother when he was just 12. Absolutely amazing career! Another section focuses on the America's cup. Plan to spend 2-3 hours, to include a 55 minute movie.

We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our 170 person late September wedding! Alyssa and her team were kind, attentive, professional, and helped us execute an incredibly special day. All of our guests couldn't stop raving about how beautiful and historic the venue was. Everyone loved being by the water and getting to check out the Hall of Boats during our cocktail hour. There were so many special touches like getting to ring a large bell to signal the end of our cocktail hour, firing a cannon between the cocktail hour and our reception, and allowing us to fly a flag of our choice on our wedding day. <3 Alyssa was amazing to work with and answered all of my questions quickly and helped put my very stressed out self at ease lol. We are so thankful for everything the Herreshoff team did to make our day seamless and stress free for us and our guests!

Awesome playground! The majority of the playground is meant for kids 3 and up but there is mini pieces for younger siblings. Also if you have a "runner" toddler, there is plenty of space to run free , away from the already very quiet and peaceful streets.

Beautiful site, pretty gazebo, nice neighborhood, lots of dogs. Good place for kids and dogs.
Laura B — Google review
Overall good park... The smaller children section is a very small area and is definitely less taken care of then the big kids area, which is very sad. The big kids area has a the tallest slide blocked off for some reason with small piece of wood that isn't keeping the kids out... For a town who is known for keeping things beautifully maintained this is a sad thing to see.
Diane L — Google review
It's really fun for older kids, especially all the giant slides! Only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 is because the little kid/toddler area is so small and outdated (read: covered in graffiti) compared to the rest of the playground

Restaurant
Pomodoro Italian Kitchen is a charming local eatery, exuding a rustic atmosphere and offering delectable Italian cuisine and pizza. Getting a reservation can be challenging due to its popularity, but the experience is well worth the effort. The food is prepared with fresh ingredients, showcasing homemade flavors that are simply delightful. The service provided by the attentive waitstaff is outstanding, with an emphasis on their customers' needs rather than engaging in idle conversations among themselves.
I dined at this quaint little Italian neighborhood restaurant Friday evening. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess Avery, who was super accommodating and helpful. The restaurant was bustling on a Friday night. The smells coming out of the kitchen had our mouths watering. We had a small group of 4 and got to sit in the small, but cozy, dining room. The food was excellent. Our server, Christina, was very attentive and personable. A woman that we presumed must be the manager, stopped by our table to ensure that we were having the best experience. She recommend the tiramisu for dessert and it did not disappoint! Prices were reasonable, and the portions were enormous . We will definitely be coming back!

Very cute restaurant. We dined outside and it was very comfortable. Appreciated that we could bring our own wine. Loved the eggplant rollatini, and pasta with Sunday gravy. The Casar Salad was nice. The lasagna however was very over baked and I couldn’t eat it. Prices were reasonable with large portions.

The food was delicious from the appetizer to meal. The atmosphere was nice. We will definitely go back but the service was not good. We ordered Sunday gravy with linguine and bolegnese with rigatoni 2 sausage and 2 shrimp. She brought out the wrong meal then sent another waitress over and said let me clarify your order we are a little confused I said what is there to be confused about, I repeated our order. Then my husband's meal came out first and I had to wait for mine. She never came over and asked us how are meal was. And I new party sat across from us and waited 10 minutes before she even greeted them. We will go back but I hope the service is better next time.

I'm not one to write a review, but after dining at Pomodoro, I had to share my experience. My girlfriend and I had a little date night, and the atmosphere was perfect on the covered patio. The food was amazing, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. If you're a fan of Italian food, I highly recommend checking out Pomodoro. This was my first time here, but it certainly will not be my last!

We’ve celebrated many occasions at Pomodoro and usually love it here. Our recent takeout order was disappointing, the wrong pasta was substituted without notice, salad dressing was missing, and the response when we called felt dismissive. After reaching out, management quickly followed up directly, apologized sincerely, and refunded the items. I really appreciate how they handled it once it was brought to their attention, and we’ll absolutely continue to support them in the future.

Seafood restaurant
The Lobster Pot is a waterfront establishment that offers both outdoor seating and an indoor fireplace. They specialize in serving a variety of surf 'n' turf dishes, including new and classic options. On a Friday night, I visited this restaurant for my wedding anniversary and was impressed by the fantastic atmosphere right by the water, providing breathtaking views from almost any table. Reservations can be made in advance, but walk-ins are also welcome for outdoor seating.
Everything about our trip to The Lobster Pot was great. We initially thought about sitting on the patio, but decided to sit inside where it was cooler. Had a seat right in front of the windows with the great water view. The service was prompt and pleasant. This was the first lobster roll I've had this season, and it did not disappoint. I do not like celery in my lobster roll and they were able to make it to order without celery, which a lot of places do not do. My husband got the fried scallops and was happy with his meal as well.
Kim L — Google review
Our family of three came here for dinner. They are extremely short-staffed. The thought of having to tip for such poor service makes me very angry. We finished our appetizers and waited at least half an hour for our main course. During our meal, no one refilled our water, and only one waiter asked, ‘How is everything?’ We had to wait or call a waiter to clear our plates. When we needed the bill and takeout boxes, we waited another 10 minutes. What’s more outrageous is that an elderly person at the next table fell off their chair, and none of the staff helped them up; it was another customer who helped. As for the food, the dishes were fresh, but the lobster meat was a bit tough, the pasta didn’t have a strong creamy flavor, and the seafood lacked freshness, making it very bland. The crab cake was pretty good though. 😅 We spent over $200 on this meal, plus an extra tip. I respect all service industry workers, but I feel I should receive the service and value for what I pay. I probably won’t dine here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

It is consistently a nice experience. Food is fresh and nicely prepared. Highly recommend the jumbo shrimp cocktail as a starter. My husband recommends the fried whole clams and I the pan seared scallops. Very nicely prepared. And our servers were very polite and attentive.

Welcoming and inviting! Pattie sat us at a table with a lovely view, Kenny took great care of us. We started with the French Onion soup and the Bang Bang Shrimp, both took us by surprise at how tasty and generous they were. Then we got the pan seared scallop special and the baked fisherman's casserole. We went home so full and happy that we took a four hour nap! Absolutely loved the whole vibe and we'll be back soon.

The Lobster Pot was a bit disappointing. The view was lovely, but unfortunately, the food was bland. My friend and I both ordered the pistachio salmon, but we both thought it was underwhelming. We had to add lots of salt and lemon just to make it work. ☹️

I had an incredible experience. I started with an espresso martini, cocktail shrimp and a wedge salad, finished it off with surf and turf filet mignon with lobster tail. The food was amazing, service was great and atmosphere was so enjoyable. Great place for a date, family gathering or just a leisure visit. I will be back for sure
Michael F — Google review
Trusted the reviews so tried it for lunch. The hostess was very pleasant as was the server. However, service was very slow and rather inattentive. The food was just ok. Unfortunately server (Tiffany) brought salads, bread, soups and entrees all out together after a long wait. The lobster bisque was very salty (inedible) and tasted pre-made. The salads (even entree salad) were basic and drenched in dressing. The fish and chips were fine and my companion liked the salmon. Bread was basic sliced bread. The restaurant itself is showing wear and tear and looks tired. The view was fine, but could be achieved by simply walking around without spending $150 for lunch.

Tucked away in the lively center of Bristol, Leo's Ristorante is a delightful haven for fans of Italian cuisine. This charming eatery boasts a cozy atmosphere that perfectly complements its extensive menu filled with beloved Italian classics. Among the standout dishes are their renowned white pizza and zesty chicken piccata, while the lobster mac and cheese offers an indulgent twist on comfort food.
Excellent little place with big time flavor! Wife had the chicken Parm and I had the veal alla Gina and both dishes were perfect. Beer selection is a bit thin, but we were able to find decent options. Wait staff was also excellent, recommending multiple dishes and easily explaining intricacies of both dishes.

This was pretty good! The waitress was super polite and attentive, the Shirley temples were delicious and we got super soft complimentary bread with butter! The appetizers were great as well. The Caesar salad was good, just nothing remarkable. The wait was also pretty long, but I don’t think that is a normal thing. Overall, if you can’t find anywhere else I would stop here however I think there are better places in the area.

My friends and I were up there for a Porch Fest and we went in to check the place out and grab a drink. We needed to use the bathroom first and they gave us the evil eye. The manager was really rude. Inside is dated, unattractive, and no bar area, so we had drinks outside. My friend decided to get food. Some of our other friends joined us. We moved two outdoor tables together, to accommodate 7 of us. The manager came out and said we can’t do that. My friends all ordered food and seemed to like it. I just ordered Prosecco, which was a good choice. Small portions didn’t impress me. The waitress made a mistake and and gave my friend regular fries with her sandwich, we had clearly asked for sweet potato. She came out with a plate and scraped the wrong fries off my friends plate with her other food on it, and brought out a separate plate with the sweet potato fries. Honestly, ANY good restaurant would’ve left the other fries. I’ll never go there again. Way too many great restaurants in the area to waste my money there.

The Italian Baked Fish was outstanding! I was hesitant to order it as I don't like an overwhelming marinara sauce. Instead, it was light, yet very tasty letting this perfectly cooked fish stand out! I ate every bite along with the mashed potatoes and excellent spinach side. The calamari appetizer was also very good and the sauce was perfect for dipping their lovely bread.

Leo’s in Bristol has quickly become our go-to spot for a great meal out with our family. The Italian food is absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and comforting. But what really sets Leo’s apart is the people. The staff and owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, and they always go out of their way to make us feel at home. We love bringing our three-year-old daughter here. Can’t recommend Leo’s enough—Bristol is lucky to have a place like this!

Sorry about the bad review Leo's Restaurant but every word is true. Just want to add that my girlfriend and I aren't food critics but go out to dinner at least twice per week and have logged some serious time at Italian restaurants from Providence to Boston (but mostly on the South Coast). Arrived to be seated outside with reservations. Chairs were located in a pile of dried leaves from last fall. Had to move them away from the building to see my feet. Waiter was OK but at times inattentive. Bread was brought with a small ball of butter. Girlfriend and I didn't have side plates or utensils /napkins so we waited... and waited until I finally got up after 15 minutes to chase down waiter's assistant to ask if she could help us. Meals were not up to par with the ravings of other Google reviewers. Chicken Parm and Chicken Marsala had all the moisture pounded out of them. They were tough chewing and neither on of us finished out of chewing exhaustion and bland taste. Girlfriend had to search for any sign of melted cheese on her Chicken Parm. The sauce on my Chicken Marsala was watery and I was unable to discern whether it was made with dry or sweet Marsala wine. Needless to say, we didn't stay for dessert. Very disappointed on a beautiful night at 7pm last Friday. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Small restaurant, fresh food and plenty of GF options. The restaurant is small and was short staffed (holiday weekend), but the staff was upbeat, friendly, and accommodating. We had a delicious meal of lobster ravioli, linguine in clam sauce, fish and chips and GF Buffalo pizza. I felt like I had been invited to a delicious home cooked Italian meal. We will definitely visit on our next visit.

Day 3

Center of town
For day 3, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Linden Place, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Play Town. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Linden Place, a historic mansion built in 1810, offers guided and self-guided tours where visitors can explore the mansion and its gardens. The property has a rich history, once belonging to one of the wealthiest slave traders in the U.S., but also showcasing tales of Victorian prosperity. It is also a popular wedding venue with well-maintained grounds that provide a beautiful setting for events. Despite its controversial past, many find it to be an interesting and stunning place to visit.
A local treasure of history and culture. On levels with so many historic homes in New Englsnd and yet to say you know Bristol or even RI history without visiting here you have cheated yourself. Be challenged and be awed by beauty, architecture, and history. And do not miss it!

The staff Lynn was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. She told us a lot about Linden Place and the history of Bristol as well as other local restaurants and attractions. We learned a lot in the enhanced tour and closeness to the historical objects and enjoyed her hospitality. Some historical dots were connected here as we came from Fort Adams and the Newport Mansions tours.

I'm visiting my friend in Bristol, she's lived here for 6+ years and had never been to Linden Place so we decided to check it out. I didn't catch the staff's name, but she is on the board for Linden Place. She was so sweet, so knowledgeable, and told us so many cool facts. We didn't finish getting through the house because we had a reservation and something else came up before we came back, but I'm hoping we come back before I leave. The place is AMAZING, and if you are a history lover like me, you will love it! I definitely recommend; it has such an interesting past. It was like 3 or 4 floors, such an amazing house!

Linden Place delivered beyond expectations for our wedding venue. While we had a wedding coordinator who took care of most of the logistics, this beautiful and historic venue was the perfect backdrop for our big day. The grounds are gorgeous and well-maintained and contributed to some phenomenal photos. Compared with many venues, we thought the pricing was extremely competitive for a venue capable of hosting either an indoor or outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and wedding reception all in the same place during the warmer months. We didn’t communicate much with the Linden Place team directly, but they patiently worked with us when both a payment and damage deposit refund were inexplicably lost in the mail. The immediate family, wedding party members, and vendors were all able to park behind the reception area and our guests parked in local streets and we didn’t hear any complaints from guests about having to walk too far, even in early August. Our only complaints were the limited access to the bridal suite, malfunctioning air conditioning in the reception area, and some strongly worded guest conduct terms in the contract. With the bridal suite, we had to ask our family and friends to move all of our wedding party’s stuff out of the suite during the cocktail hour/reception; this was also something the team had gone back and forth on, as we were originally told by the event coordinator that we could leave our stuff there all night. The air conditioning in the ballroom failed when vendors were setting up for the reception, but luckily the weather allowed us to open all the doors and make it work. Thank goodness for the outdoor courtyard area so guests could cool off! However, it did limit any dancing in the ballroom because it was just so hot. On the contract, they likely have had guests who had too much to drink and damaged the historic property, but we still felt some of the contract language about guest conduct was a little excessive. All-in-all, we are so happy we chose Linden Place for our big day and would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a classic, intimate, and relaxed New England wedding throughout the Spring, Summer, or Autumn months.

This was drop dead gorgeous. Some of the history is gross since the builders were big in the slave trade but much of the history is more positive as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Recently I brought a group of friends to visit Linden Place from Massachusetts and we really enjoyed the story of the house and families that lived there. The portable audio pad was very helpful by giving details of most adornments in the building and the people who used them. This historical treasure is convenient to the historic downtown area of Bristol-near restaurants and shops.

Linden Place in Bristol, RI always impresses us. My husband and I visit often and bring friends and family to tour the beautiful home during the holidays. Recently we saw the Magician & Mentalist George Saterial in the Carriage House- fantastic show and venue! A gem in our beautiful town!

The Bristol Art Museum is a remarkable venue, serving not only as an excellent location to appreciate stunning artwork but also as a hub for lectures and community events. The presence of this museum is undoubtedly a source of pride for the city of Bristol. A recent school art show, held at the museum, provided a serene space for colleagues to showcase their work, with the staff being highly accommodating throughout the event. It comes highly recommended with its magnificent assistance and is considered a delightful gem within its neighborhood.
Absolutely top quality. Is the current show is beautiful. Rarely have I been to an art show where the quality is so consistently high. Don't miss this show!

Not really a museum since the pieces are for sale. Small paintings on paper with no frames are priced at $800! It's worth checking out but as mentioned, we expected a real museum - not a gallery.

Had a Bluey themed birthday party for my 1 year old. From booking until the end of the party Stephanie was such a great host. Answered all my questions promptly and gave us tips and food recommendations! Our child and guests had such a wonderful time. The decorations were great and the surprise visit from Bluey was a hit! Would recommend to anyone planning a party and want to actually enjoy your time with your child instead of the stress of planning and hosting!

Our two days using play town were awesome!! My one and 3 year old had such a blast. They were well taken care off, kept saying they had such good time with all the toys and the other kids. I also loved how easy it was to book their session online, months in advance due to a family obligation. The drop off was also so simple with such a convenient location. Will absolutely be bringing our kids back the next time we are in town.

Incredible experience. The owner is so accommodating, friendly, helpful & and all around wonderful person! The children had a blast, the environment was clean, perfectly set, and safe for all ages. I couldn’t be more happy with how my daughter’s birthday turned out. Definitely one for the books! Big thanks to Stephanie!!

Stephanie and staff are absolutely amazing at making you and your children feel welcome! My daughter is 6 months and they even have sensory toys young enough for her to play and be a part of the fun! The other families that attend are all very friendly and I have always enjoyed chatting with everyone i have met ! Thank you Stephanie for creating such a safe and friendly environment for our kids!

The best place to have a birthday for a 4 year old! The kids had a blast! Staff was so helpful! The owner was so accommodating last minute. I was to have a bounce house but it was going to rain so I called within days of the event and Danielle was able to squeeze us in and make some cute invitations for us!! When we arrived I had help setting up and cleaning up. But the place is so cute! I had never been before but my son and his friends were having so much fun! The sand boxes both kinetic and play sand were a hit. And the ball pit too! The place is clean and organized and sooo much to play with! This is a great place if you have children ages 1-6 ! I highly recommend for just playing and parties! Thank you again ! We will be back to be members to join the fun through all seasons

Stephanie offers drop off for kids which let my wife and I handle some errands. She’s exactly the type of person you would like watching them while you’re away - even sending updates to my wife.

Play town In RI, everything is close by. Coming from East Providence, Bristol feels far, but one day we ended up in the area by accident and someone recommended we visit Play Town, Children’s Activity Center. I don’t frequent play spaces in my area thinking my kids have toys at home, but Play Town doesn’t offer toys, they offer experiences - sensory experiences! My kids favorite spot is the sand box. Then the farm table and the ball pit with mini trampoline. But that’s not all, they have a playground station, coloring station, kitchen area, race track and cars, building station PLUS an area where adults and kids can snack. I’m not a coffee lover, but there’s even a machine and coffee cups available FOR FREE. Wow! Additionally, there’s access to a bathroom and a baby station where you can nurse comfortably in a rocking chair and change baby’s diaper (they even offer supplies - AGAIN, FOR FREE!). There’s usually always parking on the street and a public parking lot nearby, as well. No excuse, head over to Play Town for a day of fun close or far from home!

Seafood restaurant
Bristol Oyster Bar is a laid-back spot that offers local seafood and happy hour specials in a serene setting. The oysters are particularly popular, with a variety of options to choose from. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing great recommendations. In addition to the delicious oysters, the menu features other standout dishes like swordfish over saffron rice and tender octopus paired perfectly with sauce and chorizo.
I had only been to the Providence location before tonight, and I had high expectations for this restaurant given my previous experience. It did not disappoint! The drinks ( margarita and " the bees knees" ) were delicious! Though the drinks were fantastic, they had nothing in comparison to the tasty oysters, crab cake and the Fluke ( not pictured here). I will definitely be coming back to try more of their unique dishes and explore the town! Service was also excellent! Our waitress was very polite and kind!
L F — Google review
What is there to say- Bristol Oyster Bar exceeded my wildest expectations! The oysters were delightful, local and freshly plucked from the sea. Also they were shucked to perfection, expertly separated from the shell and without any gritty fragments. The calamari was perfectly cooked and prepared with a unique and absolutely delicious combination of flavors- Thai chili lemongrass and sweet soy. There were chopped peanuts as well that added some lovely texture to the dish. Next was the beef tartare, a first for myself. It was expertly diced, and marinated in a wonderful vinegar based dressing with thinly sliced shallots. The focaccia toast was a smart addition to the dish and added a perfectly placed crunch to the experience. Lastly, the swordfish with sticky rice and coconut curry simply blew my mind; I will be thinking about it for many days to come. The curry broth was a complete flavor bomb, the rice was expertly cooked, and the swordfish was grilled to perfection. When everything was had together in unison as a perfect bite, it was unlike anything I’ve ever had in the best possible way. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding, and Chef Tom made a point to come and talk with us throughout the evening. Our server Samantha was sweet as can be, informative, and attentive. And Steven, one of the cooks, also came to deliver our dishes and give detailed descriptions of what we were about to dig into. I highly recommend Bristol Oyster Bar, it was one of the best meals I’ve had in dare I say years, and I cannot wait to come back and try the rest of the menu! Thank you for such a memorable experience, we won’t soon forget it!!!

I love being able to try a variety of things when dining out, that’s why this new menu is right up my alley. I started with some oysters, and then got a few small plates to fill up. I ended up leaving full and still had some leftovers. Highly recommend the crudo trio, beef tartar and brandade! If you’re an espresso martini fan like me, you will be happy to find an entire section of flavors to try, plus the bartender, Nadia, and the entire staff is wonderful! Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Fabulous food and service. Sam, the bartender provided phenomenal service. We will definitely return. Thanks Sam for helping to make our evening so enjoyable.

Bartender sam made amazing margaritas and was a little cutie patootie! Bria was super attentive to her tables and Ian is just a vibe. The shucker was fast but still gave us clean oysters and had a smile on his face all night! Host Lydia was adorable and very accommodating to my seating preferences. Food was a 10/10 and the kitchen staff even came out to see how we were doing. Love this place, will be back again!
Nadia S — Google review
I went for the $1 oyster special and explored some of the dinner specials as well. We tried the mushroom fried rice, steak, and grilled swordfish in curry sauce. All plates were small tapas style but delicious and filling! We had a gentleman as our server and he was great!
James K — Google review
I had such a great experience at Bristol Oyster Bar! The service was fast, and the bartenders and shuckers were incredibly friendly, which made the atmosphere feel so welcoming. The oysters were some of the freshest I’ve ever had, and the small plates really stood out especially the tartare and the smoked fish pate. Everything was prepared with such care and flavor. Definitely a spot I’ll be returning to and recommending to friends!

Brunch restaurant
Bristol Sunset Cafe is a cozy and charming local eatery known for its traditional breakfast and lunch options. This popular neighborhood spot boasts a relaxed and inviting atmosphere that perfectly combines quirkiness, refinement, and playfulness. Start your day right with a steaming cup of coffee or latte as you indulge in their diverse menu offerings, which cater to all your breakfast cravings.
The Bristol Sunset Cafe was the highlight of my trip to Bristol. For those who have not been before, do not show up without a reservation. Our friends made a reservation at 8am so we could just be seated by 12. It is definitely worth the wait to go through this process to be able to go. When we arrived there was an older lady (probably a Karen) who literally made a reservation a half hour before she arrived and was yelling at the hostesses in the front because they told her she was approximately 2- 2 1/2 hours away from her table being ready. She then proceeded to go in and yell at someone, and then stormed off saying she would never come back. I was very impressed with the hostesses reactions, they were very professional. If that’s the energy you are bringing to this cafe just go home, trust me they won’t miss you. The food was tremendous, and the service was incredibly streamlined. You can tell that they have this system down easily. I had the sriracha eggs Benedict and it was phenomenal. I would go back there again just to get it. The corn beef hash and potatoes had so much flavor. It wasn’t too spicy either. The lemon blueberry French toast was also good and very sweet. The lemonades are also delicious, I would recommend trying one of them as well, they come in a variety of flavors. Can’t wait to visit again one day, thanks!
Jack F — Google review
Went here for brunch. The vibe was nice, it was very busy with a long wait. The food was really good but I didnt like the homefries, they were a bit dry and flavorless. Corn beef hash was amazing. Martini was very nicely made, and waitress was very sweet. I would recommend. We had to find street parking
GIGI — Google review
Animated cafe abuzz with charm. They have a good sized beautifully wallpapered dining room as well as a bar you can sit at if seating is limited and you don't care to wait. I had avocado toast with a poached egg, arugula, bacon, and hot honey! I've never seen hot honey offered on a breakfast/brunch item before, but it really should become a thing. It was delicious! The Sunny Spritzer was refreshing and tasty too, IF you're a fan of coconut. The staff is super friendly and efficient. If I was staying in the area, I would definitely make this my regular haunt.
Lisa W — Google review
Bristol Sunset Café is a great breakfast place! The breakfast here is unbelievably good, with fresh, flavorful dishes that never disappoint. Not to mention their delicious espresso drinks. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. The only downside is the wait time, which can be long during peak hours—but it’s well worth it. Highly recommend checking in online to save time. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area!
Vidhyashree N — Google review
Stopped by Bristol Sunset Cafe for some breakfast. Pretty busy for a Friday. Sat at the counter. Grabbed a coffee, water and Sriracha Benedict. Coffee was good, regular cream and sugar. Would have liked to have seen some Stevia. The Benedict was good, comes with a good amount of Hollandaise sauce. Was expecting a little more kick from the Sriracha. The eggs were cooked perfect. Comes with very good breakfast potatoes. Look forward to my next dish.
Tim G — Google review
We were lucky and got seated right away! The food was delicious and the pancakes are huge, we had a nice experience and the restaurant is very cute. I prefer my chorizo with a little more spice, but otherwise - good breakfast!
Mercedes — Google review
Was excited to try this place - very nice decor and atmosphere, seemed clean as well. But our waitress was in an openly lously mood the entire time. She was condescending and seemed annoyed by any question that was asked about the menu. Her answers were rude, at one point even mocking my question. She knew it too because she stopped herself mid-sentence. It was uncomfortable. The meal overall was bland and lack luster, and combined with our waitresses attitude it was disappointing. But my friends meals looked good. I also think its bad form to take a person's plate away when they are still eating. I had food in my hand and she took the plate away so quickly I had no where to put it back down. Will not go back, and do not recommend. Such a shame, its a cute place with a nice menu, and all the other employees I encountered seemed pleasant. This waitress really undermines the place.
L M — Google review
I think my expectations for this place were too high. It's a good breakfast/lunch spot but food was just average. The waitress we had was very good. She was attentive and pleasant but the hostess was not very friendly or welcoming so was a not so great vibe walking in. The atmosphere wasn't bad but not great either. This was our first time trying this place so maybe this was just an off day for them and it was a good place so will definitely be back to try again.

The Audubon Society of Rhode Island Nature Center and Aquarium is a fantastic destination for nature lovers and families alike. Early morning visits are particularly enchanting, as the air fills with the melodious songs of birds. The well-maintained paths invite leisurely strolls, while the creatively designed boardwalk over the swamp offers delightful views and opportunities to spot wildlife.
Nice little place with fishes, some craft activities, and a mile-long hiking trail. We came on the sunny day so it was extra enjoyable🌞

Had an amazing time during their community educational program! Went with my family to the beginner bird watching class with Kaylee and it was lovely. Very educational, we had multiple levels of birding experience and all learned quite a bit! Kaylee was excellent- kind, knowledgeable, and an overall great guide! We started with a presentation and then went on a nice easy hike around the facility. Would highly recommend the outdoor portion and educational programs they offer!

It is a nice and quiet little green niche without disturbing dogs. A boardwalk leads you through reeds and other seashore plants until you have a rewarding view of the water.

This area was absolutely stunning. The proximity to the ocean is very calming and the wildlife is abundant. Perfect for a walk on a nice afternoon. A must visit if you are a local or just in the area. Worth coming back to.

Update Summer 2023 - still a great place to spend several hours and don't forget to walk to the end of the boardwalk to see the bay and the Osprey nests! This is a multifaceted nature center where you can spend an entire day, or just take time for a beautiful walk down to the bay. The Nature center itself has great exhibits that explain the natural ecology of this area near the bay. There is even an aquarium! An of course, if you like the birds -- this is the place to be! A great advantage they have here is that this center is connected with people from the Roger Williams university nearby, which helps keep exhibits fresh and relevant.

We held our wedding at Audubon recently and we are so happy we did. The staff at Audubon, especially Sarah the events coordinator, are so friendly, welcoming, and easy to work with. Sarah was very responsive and was always ready to answer our many questions in the year leading up to the wedding, and she and the Audubon staff were so accommodating to all of our requests. She was willing to accompany us through several walkthroughs to iron out the details of the event, and she gave us access to different areas of the venue for staging and setup which was so generous and so helpful! Audubon even offered to rent their event audio equipment to us, which was a life saver, and all of the equipment worked flawlessly for both our ceremony and reception. We were so grateful to find a wedding venue that let us put money towards supporting Audubon's work and a cause we care about. And, the wedding was so personal and customizable compared to standard wedding venues in the area: it was affordable to have a 7 hour event vs. the standard 5 hours of most venues, no mandatory caterer or required vendors meant we could order catering from one of our favorite restaurants in town for a much more reasonable price. Given we had to bring in all our vendors: tent rental, bartending, food, waitstaff, venue fee, musicians, photography, etc. the overall cost of our wedding was over $30k. This was still around $7k lower than the lowest quotes we saw for more standard wedding venues in Bristol RI and required a lot more planning effort on our part, but we are so happy with the result: a memorable, personal, meaningful wedding day! We would absolutely recommend Audubon for anyone hosting an event or wedding - the staff are amazing and the location is unbeatable. We will be returning often to reminisce and enjoy the grounds!

Cute stuff, great deals. Wish they would hire more staff so they can have some employees that are only on the floor to "fluff" clean up the aisles, while a cashier or 2 stays behind the desk. I usually have to wait to find the cashier ..

It is clearly not clean. Unorganized mess in every isle. The coolers looked like they have never been cleaned, the bottoms had residue of a drink that spilt and hardened and never got cleaned. Floors have never been cleaned before or moped. This store should not be allowed to sell food. Ever.

The Mint Gallery has been my represented art hub for the past 3 years, since its establishment. Despite the challenges faced by this industry, numerous galleries have shuttered their doors over time. However, the Mint Gallery perseveres in its mission to preserve and promote art by bridging the gap between artists and appreciators. This gallery effectively connects creators and enthusiasts, fostering a community that cherishes and supports artistic endeavors.
My roommates and I went to the Mint Gallery last night for their wine and paint night to celebrate my roommate's birthday. We were excited because it was our first wine night ever. It honestly could not have gone better. The first half hour of the night was a kind of like a reception to get to know the others who were painting as well and the staff really helped get everyone prepared. It was nice to be able to meet other people. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The art instructor Barry went step by step showing you how to paint picture. He helped those of us, such as myself, who are not artistically gifted. The wine was delicious and it was unlimited, which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. There were also cheese, crackers and grapes to snack on. Overall, we had an incredible time and it was the perfect way to celebrate a birthday. I would, and have already, recommended this gallery to friends. An affordable price for an unforgettable experience and I cannot wait to go back.

I've been a represented artist with Mint Gallery for the past 3 years since its opening. While we've had our highs and lows, I've always remembered what a difficult business it is and how many art galleries closed their doors in the past years. To keep art alive it takes an artist to create an artwork, the people to enjoy and appreciate it and an art gallery to connect them. Many thanks to the Mint Gallery for doing their part. I am glad that they successfully connect my art with happy customers who love what I create and show their support. Art is one of the things that makes us humans. Only together can we keep it alive.

I went into The Mint Gallery the other day and was blown away by the variety of art! From the abstract large painting to the seascapes,--- even the handbuilt recycled lighting fixtures-- I was impressed. The staff was knowledgable and had a bottle of wine out for visitors! I'm glad I stopped in!

We had a weekend in Bristol and on our list of things to do was to see the Mosaic Arts Gallery. We researched it online and took note that the business hours were 12-5 on Sunday. When we arrived at noon there was a closed sign and a number to call for an appointment. I called and left a brief message on the answering machine. Super disappointed but wanted to leave a review to let people know that the business's website info (or the artist) was not trustworthy.

I like Vets (Veterans) Park because it has swings, trash cans, baseball, and basketball but it usually has random liquids and stains on the basketball part, another thing is the trash cans are usually full and there's trash on the grass, lastly what happened to the other swing because one of them are missing

Two baseball fields and a playground with plenty of parking across the road or street side. Limited seating if both fields are in use so you may want to bring a chair. The concession stand is massive with nice bathrooms when it's open. Nice picnic area too.

Nestled in the vibrant Unity Park, Pivotal Brewing Company Bristol is a must-visit for craft beer enthusiasts. This eclectic urban oasis boasts a vintage industrial charm and offers an impressive selection of brews that cater to all palates. The brewery features a uniquely decorated taproom where you can enjoy flights of their expertly crafted beers, including standout options like the smooth Pilsner and fruity sour.
Husband loved the beers! Extremely friendly and helpful staff. No step to enter. Gendered restrooms with ADA stalls

Grabbed a flight of 6. 1)Went with a Pivotal, Pilsner, very smooth. 2) I shot the tariff, Hazy IPA. 3) Above the Wavelength, sour and fruity. 4) Hello Again, DIPA very good. 5) Celestial Plume, IPA 6) Antwerp Placebo, Belgian Ale very smooth. If I could choose only one. It would be the Pivotal or the Hello again. Nice place, open, live music.

Huge venue, cool vibe, eclectic decor, great beer, live music, kid-friendly, indoor, and outdoor seating, overall a great place.

The beer was pretty good, a few of them stuck out... their sour and a stout to be exact. Service was great and the building has alot of history and is in a warehouse. Worth checking out for the atmosphere.

Good beers esp the lighter ones. Such a good vibe too with colors and music choices. Lots of food options nearby to bring over. My only complaint would be not enough cans to go options! Stuff is so good!

Super cool vibe. Board games available. Killer event space! No food, but please bring your own. I'm experimenting with a bourbon barrel aged Belgian double.and next up the fruit salad witbier and tomb of the Red Queen. Several of the women with me say I don't even like beer but I like this one this one and this one. You guys may not get to try all the ones we have because we gratefully know the owner. Portuguese restaurant
I recently dined at Cafe Central, a Portuguese restaurant, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable experience. The steak sandwich I had was truly remarkable - the best I've had in a very long time. The food overall exceeded my expectations, and the pictures on their website perfectly captured the delectable taste. I highly recommend trying their pork and little necks dish as well; it's simply amazing.
I mean just look at the pics of the food I posted it tastes that way to!! Highly recommend you try especially the pork and little necks!! Also try the steak Sammy it’s fire 🔥 as well! Chicken and shrimp Mozambique is absolutely killer too😉!! Can’t go wrong here!!

Very good service. Our waiter was nice and friendly. They had sagres beer . The Portuguese soup was tasty. The grilled cod was Ok. They're Brad was really really good. Overall, I will give it a 5 stars

Authentic Azorean cuisine! Must try the Chicharros (Stickleback Fish), packed with flavor! Raw Littlenecks on the Half Shell for a starter are a great price compared to other local restaurants. Free Papo Seco's (Portuguese Bread) and butter basket. Get a house bottle of wine to share, it is worth it. They offer a side salad or soup with most dishes. Their Bife à Casa (House Steak) is packed w/ flavor, heavy on the garlic and delicious. The Carne de porco à Alentejana (Pork & Clams w/ Potatoes) is good too, but the pork is usually a little dry. Sandwiches are a great price for what you get. Don't forget to add some of the House Steak sauce to dip your fries! Overall 8.5/10. Dining room is typically a little warm for comfort, but other than that it is clean and servers are prompt.

The people are friendly, I had a great Portuguese meal there. I ordered the pork and little necks, the meal was delicious! It’s perfect for a night out with a girlfriend or a wife, or family. There’s lots to do in the area and clubs as well. I can recommend them.

I can't believe I haven't been here before now. The food is amazing and everyone is so friendly. I'm blown away. Also, I am extremely picky when it comes to beer. I'll only drink 5 different beers, and they have one of them. I've come here 3 times this week. I love it.

Nestled in Bristol's Unity Park, Basil & Bunny is a delightful plant-based eatery that has evolved from its humble beginnings as a food truck known as The Bunny Mobile. Designed by Libby Slader, the interior exudes warmth and charm with unique bunny-themed decor and cozy vibes inspired by the travels of owners Lyslie and Mathiew, infused with a touch of Hawaiian flair.
Woe this food is INCREDIBLE! I got the fake beef and broccoli bowl it's INCREDIBLE! And nacho fries with tempeh bacon wowow. I dug right in the presentation was beautiful on the plates and the flavors are amazing! I am a huge foodie 10/10 will definitely be back

“ Wait…it’s vegan?!?” Oh yes, and I was incredibly stunned by how DELICIOUS my meal was 😍🤩 I’ve kinda been thinking about it a lot actually. My cutie had a wonderful breakfast sammich that was raved about. Presentation was beautiful. Saw a few other plates around the dining room, each looked so good. Gotta come back for the pancakes 🤤 What a cute place! Incredibly calming atmosphere, lovely decor and warm vibe. 12/10 would go again.

Absolutely LOVED our experience at Basil & Bunny — this place is a plant-based paradise! 🌱 We tried the Crab Rangoon Burger, the IMPOSSIBLE Bunny Cheesesteak, the Backyard BBQ Chicky, and the Clam Cakes made with oyster mushrooms — and let me tell you, Delish doesn't even begin to cover it. Or as I like to say: MmmmmmmMuthsfnmmmmmmm! 😋 Each bite was bursting with flavor and creativity. The Crab Rangoon Burger was a wild flavor ride — creamy, crispy, and packed with that nostalgic rangoon kick. The Bunny Cheesesteak? Total comfort food with that satisfying Impossible meat richness. The Backyard BBQ Chicky brought the smoky-sweet heat and was piled high with all the good stuff. And those Clam Cakes? Unreal. The oyster mushrooms gave them the perfect texture and flavor — I had to double-check they were really plant-based! From the bold menu to the friendly vibes, Basil & Bunny knocks it out of the park. Whether you're vegan or just into great food, this spot is a must. Can't wait to come back and try the rest! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazing food! The best I’ve had in as long as I can remember at this level!! I will revisit every trip to Newport. I had the Buffalo bunn and, growing up in Buffalo NY, I do miss Buffalo wings (46 year vegetarian) periodically and this took me back, back to Buffalo and back to my childhood. My guests, whom are not vegan/vegetarian never “missed the meat” which is high praise coming from folks on a standard American diet 🤩 literally 5 stars in every facet!!

This is a hidden gem in Bristol, RI. Unbelievable selection of vegan/veg items, the most delicious variety of foods and flavors. The atmosphere is very welcoming, unique with good vibes all around. I got the Bunny Blake burger and sweet potato waffle fries, my date got the Buff Bunny and fries. Everything was UNREAL. It was very busy and the staff was working incredibly hard to get orders out, so please be kind to them. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!

Cafe
The Beehive Cafe is a charming eatery that offers a cozy atmosphere and locally sourced American dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Despite occasional visits from yellow jackets outside, the cafe's delicious offerings like the BLT and butternut squash sandwich have left patrons wanting to recreate the flavors at home. The outdoor seating provides a lovely view of the ocean and park, while indoor seating exudes a stylish yet fun ambiance.
Went here for breakfast and this place was very nice. You first walk in and there are menus to your right. You place your order and they give you a cute animal table place holder!! Then they have upstairs seating where you wait for them to bring up your food. Their food was really good and their staff is very friendly. They have a small patio on the 2nd floor and infront of the restaurant for Summer time. You have to clear your own table and place empty plates in designated area. They only have street parking.
GIGI — Google review
Visited Bristol today! Had to check out The Beehive cafe. They give you animal figures as your table marker. I ordered the not your mom’s meat loaf. Definitely, not my mom’s meat loaf. The flavor had a lot of anise seed in it. I am not a fan of anise so it tasted like licorice to me. The onions were sautéed, still had a bite not very caramelized. There was too much onions as well. The white bread was toasted to perfection. The spiced ketchup was very odd. It tasted very overly sweet bbq sauce and did not pair well with everything. My hash was not seasoned and only one side was crispy, and the other side was cooked just not as appealing as crispy hash browns. My partner got the Beehive mixed salad. There was more mixed greens than ingredients, no balance between the ingredients. The balsamic vinaigrette was nice and complimented the greens. Service was great! There’s a seat yourself dining room. They only maintain the bus bucket, not really the dining room or restroom. Chia latte was excellent! Maybe they are more appealing for breakfast.

Absolutely love The Beehive! I’ve come here so many times and I can’t believe I’ve never left a review. The food is always consistent and delicious. My go-to is the avocado toast, it never disappoints. I’ve also tried several of their lattes, and every single one has been great. Lately, I’ve been hooked on their watermelon mint tea refresher; it’s so refreshing and perfect for summer. This weekend, it was super busy and we had quite a wait, but the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. We ended up taking our food to go and enjoyed it at the park by the water. Such a great brunch experience. Highly recommend!
Kaitlyn ( — Google review
Finally stopped by the Beehive after passing it many times while in the area. Went with a breakfast burrito and added sausage. Thought it was okay. Not a fan of the sausage, would likely try bacon or something else next time. Gets a little pricey when you add and use the online ordering. $24 for a breakfast burrito needs to be a home run. Burrito and side of hash browns was filling.
Tim G — Google review
This was easily our favorite place to eat and hang in Bristol, RI when we visited. The atmosphere was both fun and it was buzzing even though it was raining on the day we went. The egg sandwich plate was filling, but was not too much. The bacon strips were well seasoned, cooked well, and were thick. Eating upstairs was a fun experience and there's even a little deck with seating. One minor thing they could do better is orange juice. They give you a small 8 oz bottle.
Thomas P — Google review
One star off for hungry hungry yellow jackets buzzing around us non-stop while we ate outside. The Beehive can’t control them. We even offered them the bacon they were after but the three of them wouldn’t leave 🤣. I had the BLT, so so so good! Daughter had the butternut squash sandwich! She wants to try to recreate it here at home. The pan fried, spiced chick pea side was good, but dry. I know it is tricky to keep them warm but prevent them from drying out. My chocolate espresso cookie was ok. Could have tasted both more chocolatey and more espresso-y. Daughter’s lemon square wasn’t as lemony as she would have liked. But, we will be back if we are in the area again, to try other items!
Susan B — Google review
We were in Bristol for a bike ride and decided to walk over to the Beehive because it looked so cute and inviting. The menu is great and we had a hard time deciding but went with the meatloaf sandwich and falafel wrap. Both were outstanding! We love little places like this--cute patio, lots of personality, good food, not crazy expensive. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed everything about our visit. We will definitely visit again.
Shannon B — Google review
I was in twice this weekend. Popped in with a friend from out of town who actually told me "hey there's a good cafe we should try in Bristol." We both ordered specialty drinks and they were delicious. The carrot cake latte was particularly tasty. Also snagged a chocolate chip cookie for the road and it was good too. On the way back to the hotel from something in Little Compton, I decided to detour back into Bristol and picked up just a regular large drip coffee. It was good. Not too hot either - I could drink it right away.

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in a charming locale, Hope Diner is a delightful gem that you might just overlook if you're not paying attention. After an open house visit to Bristol, I stumbled upon this cozy spot and decided to indulge in breakfast. The omelets were tasty, and with a sprinkle of salt, the breakfast potatoes became quite enjoyable. But the star of the show was undoubtedly their chourico hash—so good that I couldn't resist ordering an extra side!
Stopped in here by chance and so glad I did. The waterfront views can’t be beat, the prices are good, and the staff made great recommendations about the menu. Lovely local vibe, very clean. Most importantly, the food was prepared using fresh local ingredients and the care in preparation came through in every bite. I look forward to being a customer again and might even drive out of my way just to return!

Good burger, fries flavorless standard frozen. Unique atmosphere, tight space, counter with barstools, crooked floor, friendly people, but fair prices on decent food. Seems like a place with regular repeat customers, not a tourist stop

Absolutely love the Hope Diner! We visit Bristol once in a while from Providence and this is our favorite spot hands down. Wonderful service, friendly atmosphere, and the food is great quality and cost. We recommend the chicken liver and eggs, the corned beef hash, and the grilled muffins.

What a fun place! My wife had the Portuguese Sweet Bread French Toast and I had the Chourico Sausage Sandwich with sauce and onions, and both were delicious. This is the sort of place where you can really get the local flavor. I swear the staff knew the names and regular orders for everyone. The staff are a hoot, and there may or may not be a parrot in the back that talks back and sings songs. If you are going to the Audubon Nature Center or Colt State Park, you owe it to yourself to get breakfast or lunch at the Hope Diner.

My parents started coming here before I was born. I grew up coming here. The food is awesome, and the staff is family. This place sets the standard for everything a hometown diner should be. I get the Portuguese sweetbread French toast every time. I cannot overstate how special this diner is.
