Chimney Rock State Park is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. The park boasts the iconic Chimney Rock, a 315-foot monolith offering stunning panoramic views of Lake Lure and the Hickory Nut Gorge. Visitors can reach the top by climbing 500 steps or taking the elevator for those who prefer an easier ascent. The surrounding area features Main Street with its array of shops, restaurants, and scenic views of the mountainsides.
This state park is great! We visited early on a Thursday morning and enjoyed a peaceful atmosphere with no crowds. The elevator provides easy access to the top for those with mobility issues, and the views are stunning. We hiked the Hickory Nut Trail to the beautiful waterfall, but be prepared for a rugged trail with elevation changes – sturdy shoes and water are a must. The park offers amenities like gift shops, restrooms, and refreshments, including a cafe and ice cream. While the entry fee is a bit steep, the scenic views and well-maintained trails make it worth the visit. The elevator is a convenient option, but if you're able, the stairs offer a great workout!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chimney Rock State Park is absolutely breathtaking! Shelly and I took the elevator up to the top, and the views from Chimney Rock were nothing short of awe-inspiring — mountains, valleys, and endless beauty in every direction. The staff and park rangers were all friendly, helpful, and informative, which made the visit even better. On the drive up, we even spotted a bear — a once-in-a-lifetime memory that reminded us just how wild and wonderful these mountains are. What stood out most was the peacefulness. Even though this is a popular spot, it never felt crowded. It was serene, quiet, and truly a place where you can slow down and take in the natural beauty of Western North Carolina. Highly recommend making the trip — whether you hike or take the elevator, the view at the top is worth every second. 🌄

A 10 out of 10 place! The view is absolutely mesmerizing, making you pause from the rush and simply enjoy the beauty of nature. Everything is very clean around. There’s even an elevator to the top in case you can’t walk up, since the distance is really big. But it’s definitely worth it! There are plenty of trails for every taste, view, and distance. I truly fell in love with this place 🥰
Soldi144 — Google review
Great place to go hike. The top of chimney rock was really neat to see. You could see the whole river along lake lure and chimney rock. The hikes were moderate. My 4 and 6 year olds did the waterfall hike and the trail to exclamation point. There is a elevator that takes you to the top if you can’t climb the stairs up. Great family place. Will be back.
Sarah T — Google review
The park features hiking trails for all skill levels, views of the Devil's Head balancing rock, a tight squeeze through Subway, and a 404-foot waterfall, Hickory Nut Falls. Its most notable feature is the flag-waving, 315-foot gneiss monolith named Chimney Rock, which is accessible by elevator or up 500 stairs and provides views of the surrounding countryside and Lake Lure. There is a timed entry admission per person that is done online. Parking at the bottom and top. Shuttles run during peak seasons. Gift shops and food sales.
Gordon S — Google review
This is a great place to visit with a beautiful you. My 92-year-old father came with us on this trip, so the elevator was definitely a draw to here. He still gets around very well for his age, can walk around quite easily without a wheelchair but does get winded. The elevator gave him the ability to view from a much higher level than if it had not been there. They are gift shops, a cave, and spectacular views from the gift shop level. We've been a few times before and walk the entire trail, was just very appreciative of him being able to come and see the sites.
Philip S — Google review
Beautiful views from the top. Very tourist filled place even in the off season. Take the elevator or make the climb up a ton of steps. Nice pull off stops for photo ops. Views of the river and recovery process from Hurricane Helene. Nice fall colors emerging.
C L — Google review
Such a great park and well maintained. The original entrance is still out so the new one will be .1 of a mile before the original. GPS did not know that coming in. Be aware. Lots of great fall colors and crowds have been small. Go and show Chimney Rock some love. Don’t forget to reserve a time online first.

Located in Chimney Rock Village, Burntshirt Vineyards Tasting Room and Bistro is a must-visit destination with its stunning views of Chimney Rock and Hickory Nut Falls from the covered patio. The establishment offers an impressive selection of wines, domestic and craft beers, as well as delectable Southern Winery cuisine. Open on Fridays through Sundays, visitors can enjoy live music while savoring an ala carte menu paired with superb wine selections.
This was my first time eating here. My wife recommended it to me, and it was so WORTH it! The service was great, atmosphere was great and the food was excellent! We got the pulled pork egg rolls and the fried green tomatoes for starters. Each were so so good. The fish and chips are really good! Everything came out hot and fresh. The fries are crispy and tasty, the fish is so tender it just falls apart. We had to use our fork to eat it. The bread pudding is a MUST try. SO GOOD! Everything from beginning to end was great! So glad this place was recommended to me. I will definitely be coming back frequently. Their wine is also really great!

No matter the season, they never fail to amaze and consistently deliver! The food is so good you’ll want to order one of everything on the menu. Their tastings are delivered exquisitely and informatively. The atmosphere inside is exciting, with lots of wines to purchase and wine-themed gifts available. The patio views outside are the best in Chimney Rock. The entire team all work tirelessly to execute a dining experience you’ll want to revisit over and over; from the first-class kitchen staff to the delightful and hard-working servers and tasters. This restaurant will be your favorite in Chimney Rock, and the delicious wine you’ll look forward to enjoying both at home and gifting to family and friends. Do not miss a visit to Burntshirt Tasting Room!

We had a great afternoon here a few months ago while visiting the area for a girls weekend. We enjoyed every dish we tried and the wine flights were a great way to try lots of wines. We enjoyed the wine slushies so much we got a bottle of wine and some of the mix and made more at our cabin the next day. The live music was an added bonus and the patio on a sunny Sunday was delightful!
Fuquay F — Google review
Very beautiful location! I would recommend sitting outside if you can get a table. The view is amazing! The menu Is limited, but the portions are large and the food is good. I didn't have the wine, but there is a lot to choose from and you can get a flight and try four different wines. There are no kids meals listed on the menu, but I overheard a server telling a table that they do have kids meals available. They had live music when we were there and it was a nice vibe.

We are eagerly awaiting the reopening - the food and wine are so good, the view and atmosphere is unmatched, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. We've come just as a couple and as a larger family group and have loved it every time. Wishing good hurricane recovery to the whole Bat Cave / Chimney Rock area - we miss it and cannot wait to return!
Josh S — Google review
This is a dog friendly place, with an excellent service and good food. We were sitting on the terrace for lunch and even a black bear made an appearance near by. Our absolute favorites were the brisket spring rolls and the roasted Brussels sprouts!
Ilona B — Google review
Sitting outside is paradise! Great wine and DELICIOUS fresh food perfect for any day (the chicken salad is amazing and the cheese plate is huge and perfect for sharing!). Warm when the sun is out and cool and moody when it’s raining with awesome views of Chimney Rock all the time. Check it out when there is live music on the patio! We love when Rumor Mill is playing!
Leah A — Google review
Food was absolutely delicious! The Spicy Lamb Ribs were by far my favorite and it wasn't even my order. Food has the right amount of seasoning for every dish we ordered. Highly recommend to stop at this location whether to just eat or after visiting the Chimney Rick State Park. Gorgeous views from the outside dining area, very calming atmosphere. Our server was very sweet and helpful choosing items off the menu. Definitely coming back again!

Riverwatch Bar & Grill is a charming family-owned spot that offers an array of creative burgers and local craft beers. The restaurant features outdoor seating and TVs, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. What sets this place apart is the playground where kids can have fun while parents keep an eye on them. With its great service and delicious food, Riverwatch Bar & Grill is definitely worth a visit.
We ate here several years ago and had a great experience so when I saw they were reopening after the devastating flood I knew we had to come support them. Well, once again it did not disappoint. The food and service were awesome as always. I recommend the cheeseburger melt and fried pickles. The sweet potato fries and potato salad were awesome also. We went on Saturday at Noon so it was pretty busy. We were offered a table but opted to sit at the bar instead. Great choice because the bartender was phenomenal. He was non-stop and never missed a beat. The entire staff was friendly and I'm so grateful to see them thriving again. We will always eat here when we are in this area. #chimneyrockstrong

So happy they are back open!! So so many burger options! Their burger master cooks every single burger perfectly. The buns are fresh and compress nicely. Crispy lettuce, fresh sliced tomatoes and onions. The fries are lightly battered and perfect. Love the homemade ranch on literally anything! The appetizer fresh fried mushrooms are a MUST. Help bring the businesses back and help the town. Many businesses opening daily. Nice quaint town you can walk down the street. Indoor, outdoor and upper covered patio so plenty of seating. Beautiful and clean place with a sanitation score of 100!!!! Friendly staff and amazing service. Definitely where I want to spend my money-

Best burger in NC. Riverwatch Grill has made a grand reappearance after the destruction from Hurricane Helene last year and their resilience in sharing their comeback on their website clearly shows strength and fortitude. The deck is stunning, new furniture sturdy and comfortable, the burger and onion rings are superb and the servers are so positive and enthusiastic. Fantastic food, great atmosphere and upbeat servers make this restaurant truly outstanding. Eating riverside just makes everything even better. Thank you for a truly great dining experience!

We were so happy to be back in Chimney Rock today for a very delicious lunch and drinks. Beautiful day. Had the sweet chili with the chicken breast and my husband had the hottie burger. Both very yummy. Worked up an appetite on a hike and walking around to some of the stores. This place is hopping. Come on out and check out this great location and food.

What an evening and dinner to remember! Everything my husband and I ordered was fresh and absolutely delicious! We tried their fried pickles, their Spicy Buffalo Salad, the Po' Boy Shrimp Sandwich, and their sweet potato fries - all of which we would highly recommend. They also know how to make GOOD sweet tea! 👏🏻 Our waiter, Patrick, was incredibly kind and truly made our experience wonderful. He whipped up a virgin Mint Mojito for me to try, and it was AMAZING! If my husband and I lived locally, we would very quickly become regulars here. We will most definitely be making this an annual summer trip must-visit!

We had a wonderful time and great overall experience w Patrick! Beautiful day along with our service and food made it an outstanding! I had a classic burger w fries, My husband had the Southwest burger. Both were great! Thank you! We can’t wait to come back!

Me and my family stopped by almost a year to the date of Hurricane Helene. It was my Wife's 44th Birthday. We wanted to give some business to the area that had been hit so hard a year earlier. I got the Grilled Portobello Chicken sandwich & I really had a hard time finding the Chicken. It was mostly just Portobello Mushrooms. (see picture) I had to pull off both ends of the Sub roll to find any Chicken. Also, the Onion Rings were real soggy+ floppy & weren't crisp at all. I don't regret the lunch but I certainly wouldn't do it again.
Todd W — Google review
So happy that this restaurant has come back strong from Hurricane Helene. Extensive burger menu and several other handheld options. Great bar options & Coke products. Live music on the deck overlooking the Rocky Broad River & Chimney Rock. There is also indoor seating. Staff are exceptionally friendly & attentive. Come on down to Chimney Rock Village & support the businesses that are digging out from under Helene’s destruction!

The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge is a historic 1925 highway bridge that has been transformed into a stunning garden. Closed to traffic in 2011, the bridge now features an array of flowers and sculptures maintained by local volunteers, attracting butterflies and visitors alike. The area surrounding Lake Lure and Chimney Rock is steeped in history, with Dr. Lucius B. Morse playing a significant role in their development.
My husband Craig and I visited a few days ago. I’m not going to lie, I cried. I have been here before. I’ve seen the pictures online and saw how this place has grown and how lovely it had become, but I was not prepared for the complete devastation that Hurricane Helene’s flooding brought to the area. I thought I was, but I really wasn’t. I hope there will be a way for the area to rebuild or recreate the serene setting once again. It was so lovely. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. ❤️

Used to love this place, now you can't even tell it was there bc of #hurricanehelene almost a year ago. Pray for this community.
Ronald B — Google review
My family and I visited in the first week of June. The gardens were in full bloom. Absolutely gorgeous! My wife and I were very surprised to see how many different species of flowers and plants there were. I was honestly expecting the gardens to be smaller and it being a quick visit but we were actually there roughly 30 min ands would have stayed longer if we didn't have to go to the restroom. We absolutely loved and adored the rainbow bridge dedicated to our lost furry friends. We actually lost a beloved doggie family member last year and the bridge brought back some great memories! Thank you so much to the kind souls for sharing the gardens with everyone! Donations highly encouraged!
Efrain G — Google review
This place is awesome! It is all maintained by volunteers and what a phenomenal job they have done! The weather was perfect as we strolled around the gardens. The gardens just celebrated their 10-year anniversary. What an amazing place with fantastic views of chimney Rock! So if you and your family are in the area please make this a must do while you're there it's kid-friendly and pet friendly as they have water bowls for your fur babies all through the gardens! Update: with heavy heart I have been told this beautiful garden is now gone. Completely washed away by hurricane Helene. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected 🙏🙏💔💔
Susan G — Google review
This spot is absolutely beautiful! The pictures don't do it any justice. There were so many different kinds of flowers and every one of them were so pretty!! The Rainbow Bridge for the pets was so sweet and brought a tear to my eyes. We loved everything about this area.
Nikki A — Google review
We visited to add our beloved dog’s collar to the rainbow bridge. It was an emotional experience but I’m so grateful this place exists for mourning pet parents. The surrounding gardens were stunning and therapeutic to walk through. It’s such a whimsical location with many “Easter eggs” to look out for. We loved spotting all the painted “book” rocks, such a unique and lovely attraction. Hope to be back one day soon.

I had the best day exploring the Lake Lure area in beautiful NC! First we went hiking at Chimney Rock State Park, if you've never been there you have to go, I was blown away by the beauty! Then afterwards we took a short ride down the road to see The Flowering Bridge. It's an old bridge that was brilliantly converted into a walking garden. It's free but there are donation boxes to help with the upkeep. There are so many pretty areas to see, there's a rainbow bridge for all the doggies that went to heaven and their collars are attached to the bridge🥺 so sweet, there's Peter Rabbits garden, a pretty gazebo with a glass chandelier, gorgeous flowers everywhere and it all overlooks the lake. It's a small bridge, easily walkable and it leads into town where there are shops and restaurants plus beautiful Lake Lure is close by. It's so well done, I really enjoyed it. Definitely worth seeing if you're in the area!
Lynn M — Google review
This was a really fun place to stop and enjoy the sights and smells of the beautiful plants and flowers. The garden is cleverly laid out with themes for different areas and all of the plants are labeled so you know what you're looking at. This will be even better when the shop is open and you can buy the brick books... What a great idea for the garden!

Embark on a Lake Lure Tour for a unique perspective of the ever-changing landscape of the lake. Cruising on a pontoon, you'll be treated to insights about the area and its surroundings. The tour offers an unhurried exploration of the large lake, showcasing not only its natural beauty but also the impressive homes lining its shores.
I seriously can not say enough about these wonderful people. Had an amazing time they were so sweet to my daughter! Savanah says hi! Our guide was hilarious and knowledgeable, sarcastic, which wasngreatly appreciated and made the trip 100% better. I am horrible with names.. so thank you to the sweet young lady who was so kind to my daughter. Thank you to the cashier, and is so nice. Thank you so much to our guide. You were the best kept me laughing! And it's so nice to meet one of Lake Lures' finest officers, nice before trip experience. Can't wait to come back. This is top-notch, especially in the fall. The most beautiful lake in NC hands down! Customer for life. Thank you for letting me take pics!
Leslie R — Google review
Beautiful scenery!!! Nice boat tour… (I was hoping for more info and the lake and less about real estate. I wasn’t interested in a lake house tour…) Guide was nice and handled the boat well. Price for a 1 hour boat ride was fair.
Justin W — Google review
Was taking the scenic route up north on my way to a project and made an impulse decision to take a boat tour here. Glad I did. The office staff was first rate and scheduled my tour. A fleet of pontoon boats are used and all looked to be in excellent condition. The tours are about an hour and passengers will see everything from pristine forests, modest lake homes and even a few multimillion dollar mansions. The boat’s captain was a fountain of interesting information and fun trivia about Lake Lure. The tour is good enough to detour from your planned itinerary.
Norman B — Google review
I had SO much fun & learned SO much about the lake and it's history. Mike was an awesome tour guide & captain! This was my second time, I wanted my family to experience it. They thoroughly enjoyed it! I can't wait to go to Lake Lure again, it's beautiful there!
Darlene C — Google review
This lake is absolutely gorgeous, our boat guide was great as well. The tour was supposed to be an hour but it started raining so we went in about 20 minutes early which was kind of disappointing. I understand the reason why but other tour boats seem to be going out as we were coming in. The lack of online reservations is quite frustrating. A first come first serve type of deal is really hard to plan someone's day. I would 100% suggest trying to change your policies or the way you work with selling tickets for your tour. Other than that this was pretty great and relaxing
Jane — Google review
We were a group of 6 friends who went to lake lure for the boat ride. It was awesome!! Our tour guide was John and he is the absolute best!! He's friendly, knowledgeable, and makes the entire trip enjoyable. I only wish we had gotten our picture made with him, it was that memorable. The leaves were just starting to change and I can imagine just how majestic the lake would look when all the fall colors were out.
Sherri L — Google review
We had a great time. Beautiful scenery. Tour guide was entertaining. He lets the boys drive the boat and they loved it. I’d definitely do it again. Worth the small fee.
CATHRINE M — Google review
We had a very informative guide, who had lots of little observations that I loved. The tour boat took its time, not in a rush to get us back to the dock, so we did a complete circle of this very large lake. After you absorb the beauty of the lake itself, The main point of interest visually are the homes along its shores! I mean seriously, where do the owners work to make such money and where do they come from 😆?! Actually, our guide said that a very high percentage of the homes were rentals through internet apps. Bet THAT’S a pricey weeks’s vaca! Bottom line? I’d go out of my way for this experience!

One word beautiful. This park is situated perfectly between multiple mountain peaks with views of the Lake Lure Inn, Chimney Rock and the stunning rock faces of the the Lake Lure Valley. We lucky enough to visit during the time right as the sun slipped behind the mountains. Nicely maintained and great greenery, gardens and shrubs. While we were visiting there was a light breeze about 75 degrees was just an all around nice place to be right in the heart of Lake Lure.

I just love Morse Gardens! The walking trail is both paved and gravel and skirts the perimeter of the lake near the marina. It is immaculately kept, always clean, and offers great views of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and more. I lucky enough to live locally and bring clients here often for sessions. It's just lovely all year round.

The town has spent a lot of time and care over the past few years adding landscaping, clearing, paving sidewalks and other nice touches to improve the park. It's just beautiful there and so peaceful. Great place for a stroll along the lake, a picnic, or to drop a line in the water. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy the birds, the lake and even It's well known turtles.

One of the best places to take a walk with you special person in life! Located around part of Lake lure. You can safely walk your dogs, fish and have a picnic by the water. Paths are paved with shady trees and I felt very safe walking with my husband and our 2 dogs.

Beautiful beach area. They have water slides and an amazing splash pad, roped off swimming area. You can rent kayaks, boats, paddle boards and canoes pretty reasonably.$10 per adult to get in. They have a tiny store and food truck on site, but you can pack a picnic. Folks are really friendly and nice.

It’s a beautiful place. I would not pay again to go to the lake unless we stay there from open till closing. Family of five with one 4 year old and we paid 44$ (thought it was cheaper based on comments, guess not) kids enjoyed it. Went on a Sunday, glad we did since Monday and Tuesday (the days we stayed there) seemed like they closed.

It was an awesome experience for my family and I. We live 2 hours away and got up early arrived right when it opened. My son who is 3 loved swimming in the lake and playing in splash pad. We also went canoeing you have to pay additional money but its worth it for $20 for an hour. There is a picnic area to eat and stay shaded from the hot sun. I loved there were water slides for big kids and water ballon area. After the beach there are shops that surround the area that you can grab a bite to eat and grab souvenirs. Overall was very happy with our experience and definitely will be coming back!

View of the Lake Lure Beach. The beach is now a pasture full of weeds. No time line is available for reclaiming the area lake access. The marina, not pictured, to the left of the pictures is still heavily damaged. The lake remains at the lowest point in its history at about 963 Mean Sea Level. It is also a federal work site; so, only authorized personnel are allowed in the lake bed area.

This place i really thought was just so cute, and just awesome for kiddos! The beach was a decent size. They have water slides for ages 4+, and a splash pad by the beach also. Disappointed they close really early, at like 6 for the beach and 5:30 for the slides and splash pad. My 1 year old loved the splash pad. Our other kids enjoyed the slides and beach area. I think the staff could maybe be a bit more friendlier at times. They have a Japanese restaurant right beside it which was really yummy! Good sushi there.

It's like $10 per person but the town is cute, beach is decent and it's enclosed so it's safer. Not much of a concession stand and the water is warm from the pee (probably) and there's geese wanting your food but it's still a decent beach. It's a drive up a winding road so it's a hike. But if you have the time and need a swim, check it out. The drive is pretty...

Old Rock Cafe is a popular dining spot located in Chimney Rock, North Carolina. It's one of the best restaurants in the area, offering a variety of delicious dishes and drinks. The cafe is well-loved by locals and visitors alike, with many positive reviews praising its food and atmosphere. Situated in the sought-after mountain region of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, Old Rock Cafe provides a great dining experience for anyone exploring the area.
Quaint little diner like Cafe. We stopped here after shopping and hiking. We all enjoyed our meals. The chicken and rice soup was perfect on the cool day. You order at the counter and pay, and when your food is ready, they'll bring it right to you. We sat inside. However, it's right on the river with lots of outdoor seating too! Bonus points, they have gluten-free buns!

Cool mom and pops burger joint, done up like the classics. There is one exception, the beautiful views of the river and the mountains. There is a deck out back and picnic table areas by the river. When you put good food and great views together, you always have a winner. It's not fancy, but it's not too pricey either, just good food. I would recommend giving this location a try. Oh, and if they happen to have the ham and swiss on special that day, give it a try. If it's like the one I got, it will be delicious.

The perfect spot to Fuel your hike, or enjoy a treat after your adventure. A classic dinner style restaurant with a variety of solid options for everyone to enjoy. I got the Southwestern Wrap with chips and was very satisfied. Prices are fair and service is very friendly. Additionally, there is much local exploring near the lake and rocks for you to enjoy with a family or group.

This is a rustic place in a tourist trap town. Don't expect a lot. We really like it. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is on a covered deck or in trees near a beautiful mountain stream. We had their hamburger. Large, quality beef, and broiled - not fried. NOT greasy. All the usual toppings. Good choices for sides. A great burger. They have lots of other items, but get the burger. There's a Hershey's ice cream shop next door with 61 flavors.

This place hav pretty basic menu: sandwiches and salads basically. Well the food is good, the restaurant is clean including the restroom and employees r nice. This is pretty good place to eat after hiking if you hav the anual membership to Chimney Rock you hav a discount too. But I still missing the best wings I ever tasted and the pizza .

Good place to go! We got there after they opened. The stuff was very friendly & helpful with selections. As you can see from the pics, the views are great with lots of room to spread out. We got the hummus as a starter & was impressed. Well blended with red pepper, it led off a good meal. I had the build your burger with chips. The burger was yummy but the chips didnt excite me by themselves. The Man got chicken wraps & liked them ok..it wasn't the food's issue, just his palate today. If you are out in Chimney Rock, its a good plate to cop a squat & whoosa by a rushing brook...

This place is utterly amazing. My family & I went here a couple of days ago to grab a late lunch/early dinner after a nice hike from the falls. The workers here were phenomenal, our server was David & he was super sweet & very outgoing. As a family of 11 people, oftentimes our orders are messed up or something is missing. But at this place David was super patient with taking everyones' orders, he even checked up on us several times to make sure everyone was good. The food is delicious, from the fried pickles to the apple brown betty, we were all so blessed & happy with our food. There is also a river that runs by the cafe in the back, so this place not only has a great view but is a nice spot to relax & kick back. My family, whenever we are up here for vacation, we always make sure that stop by to eat here. It is so worth the drive. This place is amazing.

We ordered a build your own hamburger and a Bacon Swiss Hamburger. Both were very good. They were large, and there was no skimping on the bacon, sauteed onions or lettuce! Condiments were available on a table in the dining room and on the covered deck. Soft drinks and tea are self-serve in the dining area. We opted for French fries rather than chips. The fries could have cooked another minute. There are four eating areas: inside, a covered deck, an uncovered deck, and a grassy area near the river. There are plenty of tables, including picnic tables with umbrellas, all well-spaced apart. Everything was exceptionally clean.

Nestled in the charming Chimney Rock Village, Chimney Rock Smokehouse is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in mouthwatering barbecue after a day of adventure. Just a short drive from Lake Lure, this inviting eatery offers a perfect blend of cold drinks and delicious food, making it an ideal spot to unwind with friends. Whether you’ve spent your morning exploring the stunning waters or participating in local events, Chimney Rock Smokehouse provides the hearty meal you need to refuel.
Bartender was extremely friendly! Stopped for a few drinks and didn’t intend on eating here but a storm started so we stayed to eat as well. The fried pickles were super crispy and the ranch that was served with them was amazing (coming from a ranch connoisseur) The Brisket Melt was also delicious, brisket was super tender and I liked the mustard base bbq sauce. I think they could’ve used a better quality bread for the melt and I wish instead of frozen crinkle fries they had fresh cut or a better quality fry but that’s just me being picky for the sake of a review. Overall would definitely visit again and I’m so happy to see Chimney Rock slowly but surely making a comeback!

We had the best time at Chimney Rock Smokehouse. Noah created a great experience and we were eager for some wonderful BBQ. We were not disappointed, best BBQ in the area hands down. We had the the pulled chicken (no bun) and shrimp tacos. Support these folks you will NOT be disappointed.

Recently reopened since Hurricane Helene flooding demolished most of the Chimney Rock business district, the Smokehouse continues to serve very good barbecue dishes. They were highly recommended for their food and did not disappoint. We ordered their signature pulled pork. My wife asked for the sandwich served with pickles. Then added coleslaw topper with her choice of baked beans. l asked for the platter which came with three delicious jalapeno hush puppies and my choice of baked potato salad. We left filled and satisfied. Great place!

El Lago Mexican Restaurant is a unique dining spot located in the 1927 Arcade Building in Downtown Lake Lure, offering authentic Mexican cuisine. The restaurant serves a variety of Mexican favorites and features a diverse salsa bar with some of the spiciest salsa in the region. Customers appreciate the quick service and delicious meals, including options for vegetarians like bean burritos with sides of rice.
I dined in on my birthday 5/15 and had a great dinner! Everything tasted awesome and the portions weren't skimpy either. Their salsa bar is pretty nice too. I never had pineapple salsa before.🖤

Great food with great service. Everyone was nice and the food came out fast. I wish we would have ordered two nachos because they were delicious. It's a great place to go to support local businesses in Lake Lure.

When we arrived the young boy said “sit wherever you want,” then I asked him a question about the menu and he bluntly said “I don’t know. “ The margaritas were weak not at all flavorful. Food was good but not great. There was a salsa bar but no one in the restaurant told us about it. We just figured out by watching others.

The No 19 combination plate including the rice was served very hot. Very tasty and excellent chips with a salsa bar. Located directly across street from the Lake Lure Beach that is currently drained due to cleanup from Helene.

Service was quick from walking in the door to getting our food. We ordered our food and had our meals within 5 minutes. It was hot and it was good. The salsa bar was good too. It was nice to have a variety with the chips. The pineapple onion salsa was really good.

Delicious Mexican with a huge menu and salsa bar. Super friendly staff and large portions make this an excellent spot for grabbing a quick bite. I had the Carnitas dinner which came with three warm tortillas. I should mention the bean dip that came with the chips was INCREDIBLE. Will definitely be back.

Excellent place to stay, the rooms were spotless and the property was too. The manager Terry was nice and a hard worker. His wife Mo is a manager as well, she greeted everyone with a beautiful smile. A very hard worker, made sure you didn’t need anything if you did she was on top of it. She can grow beautiful flowers, delicious tomatoes. She is awesome! Her hard work shows as soon as you pull in. The housekeepers were very nice and met any needs as well. The Tiki bar, grill has delicious food and the staff is amazing. I have stayed there since I was 8 years old, lots of memories made there! If you haven’t stayed there before you should check it out.

I will never forget the first time we stayed here. Terry was extremely kind and his partner Mo brought some quality snacks to our door for our dogs that they enjoyed tremendously. The people I’ve met in this community are A+ and I can’t imagine the devastation you are all going through. Please know you are being thought of all over and we’re sending our love from Raleigh. If I can do anything please don’t hesitate to reach out. Godspeed.

My son and I have been coming here several decades and so enjoy the friendliness and helpfulness of management and staff. The rooms are always clean and fresh. We were disappointed only in that the pool was not accessible during our stay due to a special cleaning. The 90 degree day called for a cool dip in the water so we hit the river instead. Hanging out at the pool and eating at its Tiki Bar are the primary reasons we love the Geneva though. Its a great place for a brief vacation or longer stay to rest, relax, and rejuvenate less than an hour from home. Some of the rooms are dog friendly so we can bring our beloved pet. The hotel is situated perfectly alongside the Rocky Broad River and is located about halfway between the Chimney Rock main strip and the beach at Lake Lure. We love having everything so close while feeling remote and secluded in a nature setting. We've never had a bad experience. Thank you for having this perfect getaway available for all who adventure to the Hickory Nut Gorge!

The owner was a terrific host and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the Tiki Bar was very convenient. We didn't have to leave for food or drink. The pool was also a great addition to cool off on a hot summer day. Was a memorable experience.

This was a older hotel but would stay over and over again. There was miscommunication about our room number and the check in upgraded us to a bigger room that was pool side at no extra charge. The pool was nice and clean and fenced in. The river behind the hotel was breathtaking. My furbaby had a ball!! The hotel staff were so friendly and accommodating. The room was super clean. The bed was comfortable. We had so much fun sitting outside our room listening to karaoke at the tiki grill and bar. Met some wonderful people. Great neighbors, friendly staff, beautiful area and only a mile from Chimney Rock. We will be taking another trip there soon!!

Geneva is a GREAT place with amazing riverside setting. Management is EXCELLENT and hands on. Big chain hotels could take a lesson from Terry, his wife/partner Mo and the rest of the staff. Room remodeled and clean also. Lucky for overnighters, the Geneva Tiki bar is awesome and i think probably the only game in town late night so it was perfect to get amazing drinks and just walk back to my room. Great bartenders and service there as well. Locals also hang out there which is a good sign. I didn't eat unfortunately but food looked/smelled yummy. I will be back for sure!

Incredible! This is the type of place where memories are made. The towels were set up so cute on the bed when we came in. Everything was clean and neat. We loved the river access in the back with perfect swimming spots and deep enough you can jump in from the rocks. Tiki bar and pool made for such a great vibe. If the tiki bar isn't your thing, you can take a 5 minute walk across the flowering bridge to Fae Nectar. You can stay out late by the river and build a fire or go for a night swim. Manager was very cool and hung with us at the bar. We will definitely be back!

We loved the creekside setting and great view of Chimney Rock mountain. The staff was great! The owners, Housekeeper (Patricia), and bar staff were very accommodating. Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Canopy Ridge Farm, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Chimney Rock Brewing Co.. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Canopy Ridge Farm is a top-notch adventure park located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The farm offers thrilling zipline tours through the Hickory Nut Gorge, featuring 6 different ziplines reaching heights of up to 100 feet. These guided excursions are family-friendly and suitable for ages 4 and up, making it an ideal destination for families and thrill-seekers alike.
First ziplining experience and definitely a good one. We had guides Connor and Caleb who were not only instructional, but entertaining. One of the few places who would allow all of our kids to participate, even our 3 year old!
Loftis H — Google review
This place is a must! The staff were incredible! Very knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor. The guides make it fun, with facts about the zip lines, mixed in, with some humor, makes for a great trip. As a solo traveler, that randomly stumbled across this place, I highly recommend. The lady that checks you in, makes you feel welcome and at home, and the tour guides were very friendly. Thank you for such a great experience! Will certainly be back. :)
Shannon R — Google review
Family had a great time celebrating our son’s birthday here. Guides were funny and helpful, but you have to like Dad jokes. We’ve been on other zip line tours and we appreciated them allowing us to zip in fun ways (spinning, upside down). Note that all the landings are on the ground versus in canopy or on platforms, so need to pay attention regarding poison ivy and if it had rained lately. Great afternoon adventure if you’re in the Lake Lure region.
Matthew K — Google review
Very enjoyable visit. They graciously allowed me to move our appointment by a day with short notice. Two guides, Cannon and Brendan, were thorough with their safety briefs before and during the activity. They need to keep their day jobs as their attempt at humor, mostly Dad jokes, were very corny, but would have been effective with 10-11 year-olds. Had 6 stretches of zip lines with the longest at 1000 ft. Since we were veterans, it went very smoothly and the canopy was great! Would highly recommend for families even those skittish with heights and zipping down a metal cable.
Michael N — Google review
I highly recommend Canopy Ridge Farm for zip lining! The staff was kind and welcoming. Our guides were very entertaining during our tour. Alex and Conner were great! We enjoyed our time from start to finish.

This was my destination last Saturday morning, and I was literally the only person on the zipline tour. The drive there and back was beautiful and the tour was awesome. I had so much fun with the guides, and will be back with my family some day soon.
Rock L — Google review
We had a great time on our tour!. We all were first timers, I took my 3 teenagers during a mountain vacation. I booked and paid the day before online after reviewing the policies ad completing the waivers. Granted the first impression of the facility was that it could've used some up-keep - but considering the condition of many buildings in the area its understandable. The customer service representative greeted us promptly when we went inside, and had all of our information ready to go, and did a great job of connecting with us and making sure we understood the rules. Our guides -- Connor, Brandon and Alex -- did a great job of connecting with each of us and putting us at ease, not to mention entertaining us throughout the tour! We also had fun connecting with the other zipliners on our tour. Being an owner of a family owned and operated business myself, I applaud this family for keeping the business open during what I'm sure is a difficult time for businesses in the entire Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area after the devastation of the hurricanes last year! Thanks again for the fun and memorable time!

An Unforgettable Birthday Adventure on Lake Lure Our family's adventure with Lake Lure Adventure Company was nothing short of spectacular. As part of an epic birthday road trip for my twin girls, Payton and Maren, we decided to rent a pontoon boat for their 14th birthday. The experience was truly unforgettable. The company provided us with a 22-foot boat that was not only in excellent condition but also extremely easy to navigate. The boat allowed us to explore all sections of Lake Lure, as outlined in the comprehensive map they provided. Their suggestions were spot-on, leading us to some of the most breathtaking vistas we've ever seen. However, the highlight of the day for my girls was the semi-secluded coves we discovered. We anchored our boat in these tranquil spots, where we swam and played games, surrounded by the serene beauty of nature. These moments of joy and laughter were the perfect birthday gift for my girls, making our adventure on Lake Lure a memory we will cherish forever. The staff at Lake Lure Adventure Company were professional, friendly, and extremely helpful, ensuring our boating experience was safe and enjoyable. Their service was impeccable, and their equipment was top-notch. In conclusion, I highly recommend Lake Lure Adventure Company to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion like we were or simply looking for a fun day out on the water, this company will exceed your expectations. We can't wait to return for our next adventure!

Great time with reasonable prices. Easy friendly booking online with quick return phone call. Hamilton met us with wagging tail as the precursor to a great time. Captain Dylan turned the "adventure" of tubing and waterskiing into an amazing afternoon customizing to each individual's personal preference. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again.

This past weekend my family and I rented some kayaks to go around the lake. From the phone call to reserve the kayaks to the time we returned the kayaks, the service was great! Very friendly staff! The view is amazing! It simply can’t be beat. It’s so worth it! Where I’m from there’s a lot of kayak rentals, so the price was reasonable and affordable; no complaints. My wife and I were safely and easily in a double with our 11 month old son (who had on a life jacket). I mention this because this was my biggest concern since it was a family trip.

Marina
Lake Lure Washburn Marina is a popular spot for launching boats, kayaks, and canoes. It's conveniently located near local restaurants, Lake Lure Beach, and Water Park. Visitors can also access the marina at Rumbling Bald Resort on the north end of the lake. The marina offers boat rentals, kayak tours, and excursions around Lake Lure. Fishing is a popular activity here but requires a North Carolina fishing license.

My husband an I were on our honeymoon. We both love to fish and fishing at Lake lure is free. Just remember a N.C. fishing liscense is required. As for the fishing we did not have much luck. Between us only one little fish was caught and we may have had a total of 5 bites. But it was very windy which effect our fishing. The nightcrawlers that are sold at the store on Lake Lure are worth the price at least the size of them are. We did not take the boat ride. It was more than we wanted to pay. At 18 dollars a person it did not feel worth it to us. We had watched the boat go in and out several times. Just guessing it lasted maybe 15 mints. at the most. The walk around the lake is pretty and peaceful. I would recommend going either early morning or late evening. Due to the fact there is Not a lot of shade. Some of the paths are covered in dirt while others are covered in gravel so a wheelchair or walker will not be easy to push on it.. The benches are a little bit apart so if walking distances is a issue rethink walking it. Go around to the bridge instead and look from there. There are bathroom at where you get on the boat at but they are very small. Anyone in a wheelchair or or with someone in one or on a walker should find some where else to go. (I tell you this because my parents use both) The beach area was closed but we where there on a Friday. It looked like it might be nice. But can not tell you for sure. I would recommend that you wear water shoes. While fishing we could see objects in the water that could cut your feet. There is a Wal-Mart in Hendersonville which is close and a pretty ride. It would be worth the ride instead of paying the prices of things at Chimney Rock or Lake Lure. And if you do not have a fishing license you can get it there. Better that than a fine if you get caught fishing with out one. I hope this helps you all to have a great trip!!

Beautiful place! Amazing Hikes. Even has an elevator to the stairs of the chimney, which is great for mobility challenged people to still be able to enjoy the beauty! I go here several times a year! Chimney Rock also hosts an incredible sunrise service every year. You must experience this and it's free! Sign up for Chimney Rock's newsletter so you will know when parking passes are available. There are a limited number, so be sure to be on the lookout to reserve yours.

I personally loved the place. Pay the ticket at the entrance and either drive 2 miles to the parking lot or choose Four Seasons hiking route. From the parking lot you have two options. Either take the stairs and enjoy great views or ride an elevator to reach the top. Great experience!! Don’t forget to visit when you are in Carolinas; fall season should give and extra ordinary view!

I absolutely loved this place. We only made it as far up as the flag. It has a lot of stairs to climb up to it and I am overweight, have knee and back issues and with a few breathing stops was able to make it up and then downstairs to the parking lot.

It was a great day spent with my husband and 3 of our kids that still live at home . Boys 8 and 12 and a girl 18 and all of us had fun. We walked the river looked through pretty rocks boys swam in the river I couldn't handle it, already to cold. Lol Went through gift shops and just spent time together. I absolutely love family time that doesn't involve spending tons it money or some huge event. I love the simple things in life!!

Great hike to chimney rock. Continuing on to the skyline trail wasn't worth it. I'd recommend stopping at Exclamation Point. The hike down to waterfall bottom was definitely worth it!

Hickory Nut is a charming establishment offering a delightful assortment of country and rustic antiques, including potted herbs, cabin decor, quilts, and candles. Located just minutes away from the Dittmer-Watts Nature Trail Park in Chimney Rock, it's an ideal stop for nature lovers. The emporium also features metal outdoor items, farmhouse goods, local soaps, and honey. Visitors can enjoy exploring the eclectic mix of items on offer.
I am just heartbroken for this community. I haven’t heard if this shop survived the storm but I am pretty sure it has not. I am hopeful that they will rebuild and I would love to lend a helping hand if needed. I love this shop. I stop by every year when I travel to North Carolina. The have the best variety or plants and flowers as well as great garden decorations.

Even though the actual store was swept away in the flood they have a great selection of merchandise available for purchase outside where the storefront once was. So much to choose from. Please support this small business trying to get back on their feet. There were butterflies and honey bees all over their plants for sale which is a sign that Chimney Rock is strong and is making a comeback. #chimneyrockstrong

This is the cutest little shop. We love to come here and buy stuff for our garden. This was our 3rd time visiting. FYI some of the prices are a little high $ for metal decorations to put outside. They also do not give you a discount if you are a Veteran.

I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in. I'm not a trinkets person but they have a large selection of quality plants..some hard to find. I was thrilled. Spent $64 for 8 gorgeous perennials

This place was so fun and wonderful to visit. It's got an excellent selection of items inside and outside that set it apart from being just like every other decor/garden/antique/vintage mix store- and trust me, I've been to quite a few!

A very cute shop. It has so many things to see!!! I'm not huge for decorations but it's a pretty neat store to spend some time in. The inside is bigger than it seems! You can easily find some Christmas ornaments, yard decors, and many many others. If you pass by the area, definitely take a took inside!

Loved our site ❤. Thanks for giving us a choice of which site to stay on. And signing us in at the last min before our arrival.😊 I realize that some people makes it hard for those who are considerate..ex. so no drying towels in bedroom..bc some will throw them in toilet... awlful!! So bring your own hand towels.. but even if you pick up poop..they will still charge a pet fee..3 dollars a night per pet... may not be that much..but really? Guess these owners can place a tag on anything that what to. But still a very nice spot to camp at. Creek music was so soothing!. Best wishes toward the future.

Mines
Chimney Rock Gemstone Mine is a charming rock and mineral gift shop featuring a working flume mine where visitors can enjoy the thrill of mining for gems. The friendly staff provides assistance in identifying gemstones, making it an enjoyable experience for the whole family. Visitors have been delighted by their finds, including massive amethysts and other beautiful gems. The stunning views from the gem mine add to the overall experience, making it a must-visit destination with something special for everyone.
My husband and I came to Chimney Rock for the BBQ and Gem mining but due to my breathing health I called ahead and asked if they could put together a gem bucket to go. They said yes and I told them I’d call the day before my arrival. The day of travel I forgot to call them. We arrived in Chimney Rock after dark, so the next day (Thursday Feb 8th) I went into the store asked them if I could get a bucket to go, the lady I spoke with sent me downstairs to the gem mine…OH MY WOW, impressed to say the least. The young guy I talked to was very helpful and very nice. I had $100 to spend so I got the emerald bucket and told him I’d be back in 2hrs since my husband wanted BBQ. After we had the most amazing BBQ, hubby went to the room and I went bag to the gem mine. I was able to look around the store and ended up also purchasing a book and a few personal crystals. He had my bucket ready and carried it to the car. I can’t stress enough how nice he was. I wish I was in better breathing health I would have loved to sit down in the mine with the sifters and chat with him because I had the place to myself. My suggestion is to go off season on a week day and you can probably walk out of there with so much gem information and knowledge. Anyway that’s how this guy made me feel, you could tell he likes where he works, Fast forward to earlier today (Saturday) I sifted through my bucket and all I can say is he put together a fantastic bucket and I feel this bucket was put together with such amazing intentions and not like I was bothering him for even asking for a bucket to go. I wish I could figure out how to post pictures with this review but I don’t have that option so you’ll have to take my word for it. The bucket had a bunch of nice size smaller ones and 3 larger stones that were the size of my fist. One of which was a very unique gem that looks like it has a face in it. I’ve been to a handful of Gem mines from East Coast to Arizona and one of them I’ve visited twice with that being said I read the reviews after I got home from here and found out it’s pet friendly also. OH yes I’ll be back when the weather is better on my breathing with my dogs and my husband. I’ll be sitting at the table sifting through the mega bucket. I can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much for a great experience. Now for the upstairs and the ladies in the gift shop, I know I mentioned this in the beginning of the review but the lady I spoke with was so helpful and very nice. I have alot of nervous anxiety and she told me which crystals I should focus on and then I walked around and looked at everything, Every one in the town that we met were all nice to us. Again I repeat, can’t wait to come back. Edited: found out how to post pictures.

Fabulous fun family place!! All employees were super nice, the owners are such wonderful, sweet folk! I liked how they had the shop upstairs with such uquie quality items and the mine is downstairs, outdoors being shaded is a huge plus but also hearing the river and feeling the breeze! Also visit the Riverwatch Bar a couple blocks down, huge variety of types of burgers and sides plus the alcohol is made perfectly!!

Had a really great experience here. You get a lot for the money and the staff was super helpful and knowledgeable. My favorite part about this place is that they are dog friendly! Definitely will be back when it’s a little warmer!

My boyfriend and I looked through the store, and were slightly interested in doing the gem mining. One of the ladies informed us of a coupon that they have, where it’s $5 off of a $30 bucket or more. So we got the Family bucket. We headed downstairs to the gem mining area, and the person that rung us up was super friendly. The experience itself was really interesting. We got some pretty neat stuff. They have signs all over the place with examples of rocks you could get, and they also give you a nice card with pictures as well. All in all, we had a really nice experience, and the people that were working were very nice and said we got some good stuff.

Wonderful little gem mining attraction for the kiddos. Very rustic and fun looking, and the people working here were very friendly and accommodating. Had a great time!

We just stopped in here today and did a little gem mining. They have some reasonable prices for all kinds of bucket sizes. The little kids and big kids alike all had fun stopping in and doing some gem mining. The upstairs houses the gift and souvenir shop and downstairs outside is where they have things set up for doing the gem mining with the water troughs. The lady downstairs was very friendly and helpful getting us set up and also helped crack open a geo stone for one of our kids. The lady upstairs in the gift shop was nice as well. They have a large selection of stoneware jewelry and other items. If you’re in Chimney Rock and looking for gem mining then this is your place.

Our second visit and once again this wonderful place didn't disappoint! We spent well over an hour digging through our buckets and enjoying our chat with the brilliant Steve of course! We drove all the way from Virginia Beach to visit, and will likely do so again! Great place and worth the money! 5 stars! I would give 100 stars if I could!!!!

Class A rock shop. They have such an astounding array of gems and minerals from around the world, natural form and crafted alike. You can tell that they really enjoy what they do, there's a lot of thought and care out into everything from the layout of the store, the displays, and the sheer volume and complexity of stones they have available. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. Also, there's a second store across the street! PS: you can go swim in the river out back! Absolute perfect place for a rock nerd like me

Brewery
Nestled in the scenic Chimney Rock Village near Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Brewing Co. is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The brewery offers a variety of handcrafted beers, including the easy-drinking Broad River Blonde Ale, perfect for those seeking a light and refreshing option. Situated along the banks of The Rocky Broad River, this unique taproom provides a tranquil setting to unwind and enjoy local brews.
If you're passing through or climbing Chimney Rock and you need to stop in here for a beer. The staff were all down to earth and friendly, the selection is small but it's quality over quantity. I highly recommend the Sweet Apple Cider it is so good. And the food is surprisingly good for a small brewery, like honestly I wasn't expecting much but it was delicious. I got the pulled pork and loaded potato wedges. Do I even need to mention the gorgeous view and calmness. A very good spot to hang out and relax.

Learned about this place in Blue Ridge Motorcycling magazine and stopped in today 12/20/2023 after visiting Chimney Rock SP. Glad I saw the article and stopped in cuz this place is awesome! I had the special which was a Blackened Shrimp PoBoy, my wife had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and my son had the Pork Nachos. It was all delicious! And don't forget the cole slaw on the side because it's the best cole slaw I've ever had. I'm not really a cole slaw guy, but I ate mine and scavenged the table to finish off everyone else's! The Nachos were piled high with pork and cheese. Their pork has a deliciously smoky flavor. Add in a basket of oven braised brussels sprouts....you won't be sorry you did! I washed it all down with a Devils' Head Red Ale which was excellent. And it was all served by great folks that made sure our visit was enjoyable. Oh, and they have several levels of deck so you can have a seat overlooking the river, or sit so close to it that there are signs about swimming! LOL We will definitely return and this will be a target for future motorcycle rides to the area. Keep an eye on their FB page for events and live music! Thanks Nick!

It's small, but awesome! This is a wonderful little brewery right on the river and literally has a groundhog that will occasionally visit customers and join them for a snack. It's adorable. It has solid brews, good food, friendly service, and is primarily outdoor seating along the Broad River. Great spot to relax and have a brew! Cheers!

Traveling to Lake Lure North Carolina, we stopped in the town of Chimney Rock North Carolina for a refreshment at the Chimney Rock Brewing Co. I tried their pale ale and lager. Both were very good. On a subsequent visit, yes, it was definitely worth going back, I tried the IPA, and this was as good as any I've had in Maine. For a snack, we ordered wings. They were cooked to perfection. They also have wine for the non beer drinker. The view is spectacular, the seating over looks the Broad river and is in the shadow of Chimney Rock state park.

I really wish I could have given it more stars. When we first entered today we were confused about ordering food. The worker was kind of off putting and a little snippy to us. I explained we have never been there before so he explained that we order up front. When I asked if we wait for the food he said “we give you a beeper” but not in a kind way. Anyways we ordered a snack and 2 ciders and made our way down 2 flights of stairs to find a seat. The view is beautiful with the river but the place is super small. I follow them on Facebook and it looks nothing like what they show. Anyways, we ended up talking to people so it was a pleasant afternoon. I would not go back.

First time here was Oct 2022 with 2 friends. Beautiful local brewery right on the river. Great craft been and really good food. I got the coffee stout and my 2 friends both got the wheat beer. We also got the pretzels with beer cheese dip and the pork nachos. Both were awesome and I had 2 stouts as I'm a dark beer person. This will be added to the list of places to return to.

Maybe the best view in town. A perfect pet friendly patio to sit and watch the water roll by while drinking good English style beers. The food is simple fried fare but done very well. The staff is extremely friendly as are the locals. One of them being a groundhog that lives nearby. We spent several hours just sipping beer and listening to the river, and I can’t wait to do it again
Jackson B — Google review
We popped in for a beer as our first stop on the river walk, very small indoor area to get out of the rain but they have a seating area which gives you a wonderful view of the river and the mountain peeking out through the clouds. The beer was delicious, top notch, the staff were friendly and chatty, classic rock playing over the radio. Very chill and relaxed, set the tone for our visit. The river is mesmerizing and being so close to the swirling clouds, the world is a different place up here. Magic is in the air.

Great quality ice-cream at really affordable price. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Really polite too. I guess a single scoop is large enough for an ice-cream treat.

This ice cream shop is AMAZING!! I went here on vacation with my family and I had a difficult time choosing what flavor I wanted. I lowered it down to three. There are so many flavors to choose from you can’t just pick one. I wish I had a ice cream spot like this near my house but unfortunately I stay 4 hours away. Whenever I visit Asheville again I will definitely be coming back to try other flavors. There is also a beautiful river behind the shop that you can visit when getting ice cream.

I was pleasantly surprised to check this place out and find some dairy free ice cream options. They have two sorbets, lemon and raspberry, that are dairy free and vegan. However, the real treat was the chocolate chunk vegan and dairy free ice cream. It was very tasty! The lady behind the counter was super helpful and read out the ingredients to us so we could be sure it was safe. She also let us sample the ice cream. It was quite a treat to find some ice cream. I was certain I’d be disappointed going in but walked away with a happy family after eating some tasty ice cream!

Medina's Village Bistro is a charming casual eatery located in the heart of Chimney Rock Village, offering elevated American cuisine and a selection of beer and wine. The bistro is known for its cozy atmosphere and pet-friendly patio, making it popular among both locals and tourists. Visitors can enjoy delicious breakfast options such as cinnamon rolls, gravy & biscuits, potato hash, French toast, coffee, and Royal Hash while taking in the delightful views of Chimney Rock.
Delicious meal and wonderful service. The Parmesan-crusted fish was substantial and delicious. The veggies were a mix of collards, green beans, and a couple of other greens and were perfectly seasoned. The bisque was thick and hearty. They serve local wines and beer that seemed popular with the other diners the night I was there. Service was amazing.

My girlfriend Melody went here a couple weeks ago while visiting the area. The food was good, the dessert was the best! Peanut butter pie! We were advised by many to get there pizza, but that was only available at dinner after 5 and we were eating there for lunch. The service was okay. Overall, I would give a 3 stars, I am curious the next time I am up to try their pizza.

Stopped in here for lunch during our adventures in chimney rock. We were lucky to find a spot right in front of the restaurant, if you can’t get a spot you’re only other option is to pay $5 to park. Got a seat pretty quickly, not a bunch of vegan options but a little more vegetarian ones, we chose to get the black bean wrap with a pasta side, Caesar salad and cinnamon roll, I know weird combo but that cinnamon roll was screaming pick me! The wrap was good, so was the salad, not a big fan of cream cheese on a cinnamon roll other then that it would have been perfect, I doubt I’d come here again

I would give this place 5 stars, but the wait when we got there was confusing. No one was available to put us or others waiting on a list for at least 10 minutes, and then after being on the list, they let a woman go before us at a 2-top we would have loved to be seated at. She even said we were before her, but she still took the table. But we finally got seated and had a pleasant server. He was attentive and gave us some tips for dinner tonight. Best part - the food! So worth the wait. My husband had the breakfast hash, and I had the breakfast bowl (pictured). Both delicious and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. My bowl had collards, peppers, bacon and egg on top of grits. I chose the English muffin to go with it. Fueled me up for our hike. Would love to try lunch or dinner here sometime!

Went to discover Lake Lure. Cute town, the flower bridge was very enchanting even in the rain, the little fairy gardens scattered all throughout, the view of Chimney Rock were delightful. Medina’s for breakfast was delicious! Cinnamon Roll to start, gravy & biscuits, and the potato hash were served by a very nice friendly waiter, named Jeremy! We were most excited to see they served Shanti Elixirs! Her Jun is delightfully refreshing and so good for you! Check them out, they will not disappoint you!!

Great food, fair prices. I loved my breakfast! Ticket time here was very long, some items were forgotten which caused more waiting. 5 parties of two or more left without getting a table or were advised that breakfast was no longer being served (it was 10:45, after the 10:30 time stated on the menu). I'll be coming back, this is a great place to eat!

Visitors have praised the quick service and delicious hibachi steak, shrimp, and chicken dishes. The restaurant is located near the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge and is highly recommended by travelers for its quality food and efficient service.

Good views, bland food, fast food quality at full dining price. This restaurant just opened so hopefully it will improve but I have to give an honest review. When you think of a Japanese Steakhouse you don't expect to go up to a counter to order and to be served on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils. And certainly not at the prices they charge. Staff was not overly warm either. Sushi did not taste very fresh and the "spicy" tuna roll lacked spice. We were excited to see a new restaurant open in Lake Lure, hopefully the food and dining experience will greatly improve. I apologize for the low rating but hopefully it will help improve things. Being a new establishment always has its challenges.

We wanted to eat something first before climbing the Chimney Rock. My tweens who are sushi fanatics found this one so we went in. I would say that the food can suffice your hunger. The lunch portion was not that bad. It’s not the best but it’s not the worst either. Service was good though. I may come back and try again.

We like trying different restaurants and this one was pretty good! I wish i would have gotten a picture of our Lake Roll, it was delicious!!! Nice clean restaurant, friendly staff. You order at the counter and pay then they bring your food to your table. We shared a fried sushi roll and a steak, shrimp and chicken plate. I recommend giving this place a try! Great stop before or after seeing Chimney Rock!

Located in lake lure, n.c. off hwy. 176 next to Lake lure Beach. It was great. We ate outside, a beautiful day. Staff was friendly and the service was great. Enjoyed it very much. They offer discounts to city workers, which is nice. Lake lure, it itself, is a beautiful place to stroll and take in nature.

The experience was really disappointing. We ordered three different kind of chicken items (Hibachi Chicken, Chicken fried rice and Chicken/Shrimp/Scallop house special). The funny thing is that they were all the same fried chicken but with different levels of some sweet soy sauce. The most absurd thing was that the Hibachi was not spicy at all. Definitely not recommend.

It's one the best foods we've had since we stayed at Lake Lure Inn, they were quick at getting are order ready for take out, less then 5 minutes. This is a picture of half eaten plate; because I couldn't eat it all and my husband inhaled his plate down and then he started eating mine, I had the hibachi steak and shrimp he had the house style shrimp, chicken and steak. He said his was good but mine was better.

Probably the worst Japanese/Sushi place I've ever been to. The rice is flavorless. A spicy tuna roll should not have cream cheese and the rice was not the correct texture for it Do yourself a favor and ride into Marion or Black Mountain if you want either of these types of cuisine.

A true chefs kiss! Our meal was absolutely amazing! So amazing that we, honestly, have all continued to talk about it even two weeks after we dined here. The chefs in this kitchen are gems and you can taste the passion for cooking in every bite! Every dish from starter to dessert was executed beautifully! The food was phenomenal! I rarely order duck since it can be so hit or miss but the duck dish was cooked to perfection with a crispy skin but tender juicy meat and it was plated and paired so well with seasonal vegetables. It is obvious the staff takes great care in the menu they design. Our waitress was also amazing but I feel awful for not remembering her name! She is from the same area in Florida as I am (treasure coast area) and she was so kind! I hope that's enough insight to give her the credit she deserves because she was so kind, welcoming and knowledgeable! We can't wait to be back when we visit the area next season!

Simply amazing from the staff to the food. And the views are amazing a must must stop if you are in the area. Best food in lake lure. I got the Tomahawk stash special. 48oz. The chef Serbs it himself table side. IT WAS SO GOOD I ATE THE ENTIRE THING.

We stayed at the Lodge on Lake Lure this past weekend and decided to eat at the attached restaurant after a long day of visiting wineries in the area. First of all, almost all of the tables have a great view of the lake which is great. The bar is very cozy and makes great special drinks as well as the classics, beer and wine. Service was fantastic and very accommodating. We used reservations when we went and would expect that this is the only way to go as it is busy. The food is well above any other food we have seen in the area and we liked it enough to return there for our second evening while staying in the area. Appetizers are not only fantastic, but also well sized. I may never order another pork belly item unless I am back at this place. The lamb, veal, scallops, salads and tuna tartar items are wonderful and the other items we saw delivered look just as great. We ate other places during the day but I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else while in the area for dinner. And as a final note, unless you are allergic to dairy, whatever ice cream is on the desert menu, order it - period.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. My husband and I ate here back in April for our anniversary and again twice in September for another special occasion. Everything is stellar- the presentation is great and the food is made to perfection. The cocktails are delicious. This time around I’ve tried the Wedge Salad, the Shrimp Cocktail, the Blackened NC shrimp and the Sea Scallops (pictured). I would absolutely recommend everything. The waitstaff is attentive, the food comes out quickly, and the views are gorgeous. The only cautions is that I would check the menu ahead if you have dietary restrictions because it’s not very vegetarian friendly. It’s also on the expensive side but the quality completely justifies the price.

Our favorite restaurant to come to whenever we visit lake lure! It may not be a secret that lake lure is a bit low-key and remote, but when you make your way to the lodge/appalachia restaurant, it feels like you’ve discovered lake lure’s best-kept secret! The views, drinks, and excellent food are in my opinion the best I’ve found in the lake lure area. We love to come back each season to see the new menu offerings and seasonal cocktail offerings. Between the vieux carre and 525 there’s always something for bourbon lovers, and they have excellent bartenders that can adapt drinks to your palate. Most recently I requested the dusk to dark cocktail with reposado instead of mescal and it was top-notch! Their pork chop is amazing and we consistently order and love their steak special as well. The chef is very accommodating to gluten allergies and we’ve been able to do their steak and roasted potatoes without an issue. (The burrata is always amazing too). I’m the future, It would be helpful if they labeled allergens on their menus, but the chef always does a great job with whatever you throw at them. Definitely recommend for a special occasion or just a cool place to show friends and family for a great time.

Omg! Totally had our socks blown off! What a meal & experience! Lisa took very good care of us throughout the meal & added to our enjoyment. For drinks, my hubby had the spicy mango margarita and i had a the Pickle My Fancy. Both were prepared and perfect. Enjoyed mine very much and followed it with an extra dirty Martini🍸 For starters, i had the gem wedge salad and hubby had the lobster bisique soup. The wedge salad had the best bleu cheese dressing on it as well as a healthy amount of bacon and sundried tomatoes. The soup was buttery and the lobster really shined through. The puff pastry was perfect to soak up the bisque. For the main entrée, i ordered the NC blackened shrimp with jambalaya risotta, fried capers, rocket salad, and charred citrus. Hubby ordered the crab stuffed trout. The flavor was amazing on both dishes. On mine, the combined flavor of the blackened shrimp with the spicy creaminess of the risotta was amazing and loved the crispy capers! My hubbys fish was so moist & flavorful and paired well with the sweet crab and cannelini beans. For dessert, we ordered the vanilla bean creme brulee which they decorated beautifully just for us. Loved the tasty bite that the chef sent out of a pickled grape with gorgonzola and balsamic reduction. Overall, a 5-star experience!!!!

Most innovative restaraunt in town and a hidden gem. Quality of food was superb and Mario was a wonderful server and host! Cocktails and “mocktail” were very innovative. We ate here for lunch and dinner. I had the wings for lunch and duck for dinner and both were spot-on.

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Lake Lure Welcome Center. Not quite as popular as Chimney Rock State Park, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Visitor center
The Lake Lure Welcome Center is conveniently located just before reaching Lake Lure, offering a great view and easy access to the scenic Rocky Broad. Visitors can enjoy the stunning surroundings and nearby attractions like the Lake Lure flowering garden. While vending machines are not available, the center's staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing helpful information and directing visitors to other local resources. The picturesque setting makes it an ideal spot for a leisurely visit or even a picnic outing.
Lake Lure is a beautiful area in Western Rutherford County, and this welcome center really adds to the charm! Inside you will find friendly staff, a small history museum about Rutherford County in general, information about tons of nearby attractions, and even information about the various movies that were filmed out here! Did you know the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed in this area? I had been to this area 5 years ago, and since I was passing through on the way to Franklin, a revisit was definitely in order! It was just as I remembered it, though the red chair in the museum has since been relocated back to the beach. There is also a nice park behind the building, complete with walking trails and basketball court, and there is a boat marina nearby. Get this, the marina even has a small gas station! Well, it's more like one pump and not a full service gas station, but still, how crazy/amazing is that? One of these days I do need to spend a day or two in the town and see all what it has to offer!

Very very accessible but stunningly scenic. Especially the part beyond the waters has an amazing view. It’s really stunning that I didn’t think to click it. It was a dusky but bright day with packing fall colors. I initially wished they have children park but actually they do. Lol. I think I was “dumb”stuck with the view. Next time I go there, will carry with picnic basket. Unfortunately no wines but soft seltzer will do for me.

The other day my husband and I went in. There was a younger woman at the desk and there was an older lady trying to ask her some questions. The woman behind the desk was on her laptop and did not look up at this lady one time. She was incredibly rude answering her questions. We could here it in her voice. She almost seemed annoyed. She didn't give her full attention to this poor woman just wanting to find out some info about the lake. It really made me mad because the whole point is to be there to help tourists. I went in again with my son about 20mins later so he could use the restroom and again, she did not even look up or acknowledge us walking in. If I were in charge of hiring/firing, she would no longer be there. We go to Chimney Rock at least three times a month and everyone else there has always been so friendly and kind. The restrooms are always clean! But that just left a really bitter taste in my mouth.

You patronize this flea town usa as a good part of are community. On 1 occasion I witnessed an individual opening medicine and replacing with other products and yet another time seen a teenager slouched on the restroom floor drinking cough medicine acquired from this store..this is a health crisis on steroids. Not to mention literally hundreds of drugs in bins 4feet off the ground open to anyone who can reach that high .the owner said they were having numerous problems here to include the drugs being tampered with or used at the store or outright stolen by the cart full and sold in the nearby community..wow welcome too n.Carolina

Cute and cozy! Really cool place. Sad to see how the hurricane damaged so much of the lawn, but I’m glad to see how they are still open! Pirate music was great and the whole experience was amazing! 10/10!

We loved the vibe of this place so intricately decorated with the Celtic theme. Mead was all very good. My personal favorite was the hibiscus elderberry. We also had the hummus appetizer. It was very good! Make sure you stop in if you are in Lake Lure! ❤️
Karen H — Google review
This spot is amazing! I visited around the Christmas holiday and wish I could’ve extended my vacation to enjoy more than once. Solo traveler- so I sat at the bar and had a lovely time chatting with everyone. Great charm, great people, great mead!
Michaela B — Google review
Lovely little spot just off the main strip. We stopped by for a quick drink and loved the setup. Good sized interior for the tavern, but the outside space is excellent as well. Very much a whimsical vibe with low music in the background; love that they host game and music nights for the locals and visitors! Worth stopping by to check out their unique meads - they also have a few beers on tap as well if the mead just isn’t your style.
Carl M — Google review
A very unique place to hang out. The mead was delicious, as this was my first time trying it. Out of them all, my favorite was the Lavender mead. They had live music while we were there, and it really helped to complete the overall experience.
Brandon J — Google review
What a fun, magical place! And the mead is delicious! We tried the flight to sample 3 and I liked the lavender, so of course, had another. The back deck has a great view with intimate seating. And they have a HUGE bonfire pit made of a steel “granite crusher” bowl. There are picnic tables and seating areas around the fire, too. You can come by boat and tie up as well. The water and rocky ledges to view are beautiful. You can be YOU here…cosplay, fantasy, or come as you are. The food truck is delicious and can serve breakfast all day and evening. They are only closed on Mondays. The Friday night we visited, there were trenches dug up in the outside areas for creating additional sound and lighting. Look! They even have a trebuchet for fun festivals that they host. The next flinging is in Oct., plus the very nice, cool owner is building a huge medieval room using the back of the building…so stay tuned. Great, friendly staff, live music, beautiful scenery and outdoor spaces, very large and clean restroom, delicious mead (and at least one tap beer), table games, with dungeons and dragons on Sunday night at 5…it is a cool experience! We look forward to our next visit!

Fun and unique atmosphere at this very special meadery in downtown Lake Lure. Property is adjacent to the beautiful Flowering Bridge & right on the lake. Dog friendly outdoor spaces down to the lake with picnic tables. There are a few indoor tables & a bar, as well as a deck overlooking the lake. Mead & other libations created on site. Soft drinks also available. I had a flight of meads & my husband had a house made hard cider. Very unique and enjoyable flavors. Community atmosphere. Live Celtic music on Thursday evenings. A D&D gaming group was meeting while we were there. Super friendly staff and relaxed environment. One single stall restroom.
LR P — Google review
3 types in mead on tap. We tried the Elderberry with Hibiscus. I don’t always love mead, but this one was quite good. They host a lot of musicians and festivals. The outdoor space was set up ready for events. Bring the pup and sit outside whether in the grassy area or on the deck. It is fantasy themed as they say. No food, but there is a food truck that comes (Munch Box) right out front.

Scoop Lake Lure is a delightful ice cream stand that perfectly complements a day spent by the water. Nestled just around the corner from Morse Park and across from Lake Lure Beach, this charming spot serves up generous portions of classic treats like Coke floats and decadent brownie sundaes. Families will love indulging in their enormous scoops, especially with kid-friendly options featuring free sprinkles! With outdoor seating available, it’s an ideal place to unwind after sun-soaked adventures.
Very great stop, parking was easy to find in such a crazy, hustle and bustle that is Lake Lure. We tried the “Cookie Monster” and the “Banana Pudding” ice cream. Both were top notch! To note though the double is a humongous portion. All around great time, music selections were tasteful as well.

When you order 2 scoops and the counter person says that's a lot of ice cream on your belly and you say I'm a professional ice cream taster believe her 2 scoops at Scoops is huge. The price was less than $6 which is criminal. I even told them they need to go up on their prices because as I said I eat ice cream a lot at different places and their prices were rock bottom and their ice cream was delicious and portions are portions are extremely generous. There's covered seating and picnic tables with umbrellas you can look across the lake It's a great little location and again the ice cream is delicious

We arrived 5 minutes before they opened and watched Rachel get the place all set up perfectly and then dropped the open sign. She is an AMAZING and hard working employee…thanks Rachel. Their homemade ice cream is DELICIOUS and very creamy! All you have to do is pick YOUR favorite flavor and I promise you won’t be disappointed ❣️
Robert T — Google review
We like Scoops a lot. It is right across from the beach. Casual. Always had a seat available for us. We can bring the dog (and they have a pup cup!). Our fav is to share the banana split. You get three scoops of any flavors (if you pay a small charge) but it is plenty for 2 people easily, if not 4 especially if they are small. Going out for ice cream is never the cheapest, but an indulgent treat :)

Not sure what’s the deal with me and ice cream especially when I see a local joint like Scoop I just had to stop and try it! Had the scoop on the shake and it’s heavenly! We just moved to this area and I can already see myself spending a lot of time here ..

We have been excited to try lured market! We stopped in with the family after a hike over off of boys camp road and absolutely loved it. You place your food order in the small building off to the left and receive your number, and then cross over to the building with indoor seating to pay and grab your drinks! You absolutely can’t beat the view, and the cocktails are fresh and refreshing. Our food was amazing, I can’t imagine there is anything on the menu that isn’t good, and the service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Happy St Patrick’s Day!!!! What better reason to spend St Patrick’s Day enjoying some beer and some good food. The weather was absolutely perfect. The fish and chips were delicious and the chicken breast sandwich was as well. The sweet potatoes fries were yummy and the gumbo was a little spicy but good. Loved the pet friendly atmosphere and the staff were so kind and welcoming. We love this area and the people is the main reason. Great spot to stop to get a drink and some food. The food was amazing! We got hamburgers with sweet potato tots and Mac & cheese. The service and staff were so friendly. They have plenty of outdoor seating, which we always love to sit outside. They had music playing today which was wonderful! Such a dog friendly place as they have a dog menu too! Next time we will bring our puppy with us as she would love to order off their menu 😂. The market is stocked with all kind of goodies if your staying in a cabin or hotel. We will definitely come here again on our next trip to Lake Lure.

Italian restaurant
La Strada At Lake Lure is a family-owned Italian restaurant that has been serving delicious Italian dishes for over 40 years. The restaurant offers a fantastic view of Lake Lure and the surrounding mountains from its elevated and covered patio. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes, including pizzas, red-sauce Italian fare, American eats, and seafood.
We were visiting Lake Lure to see all of the damage and we decided to give La Strada a try. Let me say right now, it was awesome. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside on the front veranda. The Mountain View’s were incredible. I’ll be so glad when the lake finally returns. The restaurant sits directly in front of the Lake Lure beach area. Our service was outstanding. I started with a fantastic margarita and my wife loved her Long Island Ice Tea. We order the 12” Meat Trio Pizza and honestly it was one of the best meat pizzas I’ve ever had. We ordered with regular crust and I intend to go back for more. Plenty of seating inside and out. Do yourself a favor and visit. The local businesses need all the support they can get as the area rebuilds after the devastating floods.
Steve S — Google review
La Strada at Lake Lure is a fantastic spot for a casual yet scenic dining experience. The food was very good—especially the chicken parm sandwich, which was hot, flavorful, and satisfying. The service was friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept, with a relaxed, comfortable vibe. But the real standout is the view—absolutely stunning! The outdoor seating offers an unbeatable look at the lake and mountains, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch or dinner, La Strada combines great food, service, and atmosphere into one memorable visit. Heather was a great waitress!

Support the local businesses! I was taken back with all the work still being done in the area from the storm. Lot's of construction all over the area. The restaurant was easy to get to and had a fantastic view. I could only imagine the view when the water it there. The pizza had a great crust and flavorful sauce. Decent portions and seemed to be fresh.
Andrew — Google review
Service was great! Views were amazing even though that the beach was no longer there. You can see the chimney rock formation from the patio or many tables inside. I had a trout sandwich and my friend had a Alfredo pasta. Drinks were cold and refreshing.
Nena R — Google review
We had a great experience at La Strada at Lake Lure and would definitely return. The food was delicious, the restaurant was clean and quiet, and our meals came out hot and fairly quickly. Food Highlights: • The garlic knots and white pizza are must-tries – both were flavorful and fresh. • The kids’ Alfredo portion was surprisingly large, and my daughter devoured it, which speaks to how tasty it was. Note on Photos: We forgot to take pictures at the beginning of the meal, so the photos of the pizza slices and Alfredo dish only show what was left over. Also worth mentioning – the pizza is sold by the pan, not by the slice. Atmosphere & Location: La Strada sits beautifully on a hill, offering scenic views and plenty of outdoor seating. There’s ample parking available, though some spots require navigating stairs, which could be a challenge for those with mobility issues—especially during peak hours. One downside: although there’s lots of outdoor seating, we were told they couldn’t rearrange tables to accommodate our group of 8. Outdoor tables are fixed in groups of 4, which may be inconvenient for larger parties. Service & Gratuity Policy: Service during our visit was excellent, and the staff was friendly and attentive. However, be aware of their automatic gratuity policy: • 18% for parties of 6–7 • 20% for parties of 8+ While we always support tipping fairly, automatically increasing the gratuity based solely on party size feels excessive—especially if the level of service doesn’t scale accordingly. Thankfully, in our case, the service matched the 20% gratuity. But during a busier time, that might not have felt justified. Other Notes: The restaurant does not allow more than 5 toppings on a pizza, claiming it gets too messy. While not a major issue, it’s something to be aware of if you like to customize heavily. Overall: Great food, good service, and a beautiful setting. There are a few quirks and policies that may be frustrating to some, but we enjoyed our experience and would definitely go back.

We stopped in after a day hiking and walking around Chimney Rock park and town. Wha a wonderful day we had with the locals and business owners digging out of this tragedy. Our experience at La Strada was awesome, we had several appetizers, some seafood and a 16" pizza. Our server was great not only friendly but checking on us the entire time. If you want to save a little money take cash as to giver processing fees but totally give these guys a try, it was excellent.

Absolutely beautiful historic inn! Wonderful hospitality from staff and management. Room was very clean and the bedding was very comfortable. Excellent beverage selection at the Moose and Goose as well. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon!

This hotel is old and never updated. We were very surprised when we got in our room. Very small, smell old and moldy, no fridge in the room. Bathroom is small and dangerously built with step that you can’t really see well due to darkness in the bathroom and dark tiles. I had to put towels on the steps so we don’t miss it. Another thing that was frustrating dog fee. Website listed as $60 per pet per night, one front desk person said $60 per stay and when you check in paperwork show $25 per pet per night. Which one is it? We were charged $300 for 5 nights. Room cost is extremely expensive for hotel ( or should I say motel) in that shape. Outside looks great but inside is horrible. Oh and be prepared for ghosts visit and weird sounds. I wouldn’t recommend it to any of my friends or family, go to Airbnb for that money and you will have great experience.

This is a historic inn. Very “retro” and I love it! Our room with the giant tub right there was great! Right across from Lake Lure beach…which currently isn’t open but I imagine when it is this is the place to stay! Restaurant and bar on site but also plenty of other places within walking distance distance. I love that the originality of the Inn was kept in tact. Complimentary breakfast and all around a pleasant experience. Can’t wait to return after the lake re-opens!

We stayed here to go to a nearby wedding. This hotel in Lake Lure dates back to 1927, and not much has changed in terms of structure and decor. We love the history and the staff were phenomenal throughout our stay. Plus, we got to stay in the same room the American writer, F. Scott Fitzgerald stayed back in the mid 30s. He happens to be my most favorite author of all time, so that was a huge plus!

This place has plenty of nostalgia but the rooms are small and the bathrooms are even smaller The utilities sit about a foot off the floor not very useful unless you are five or six years old. I will say that the bar and the bartender were fantastic. We stayed Labor Day weekend to try to help some of the businesses up there get back on their feet hopefully lake lure will recover completely from the disaster.

This iconic hotel nestled on the famous Lake Lure beach offers so much more than rooms. The dining experience is wonderful and if you don’t want to end the night there, the bar is the coolest place to hang out. The bartender Meghan is really the main reason to visit. Don’t take my word for it, go spend some time at this hotel.

We enjoyed Sunday brunch at the inn this morning. The buffet offered a wide range of options and the food was delicious. Kiddos gave it two thumbs up! We will definitely be back

Historical atmosphere here is heavenly. Don't expect 2025 amenities. Don't expect enough floor space in your room to preform your morning yoga routine. There is functional obsolescence, which is part of the charm. Rooms are sufficient and affordable. Enjoy
