Shopping mall
Nestled in the heart of Mossel Bay, Langeberg Mall is a delightful shopping destination that offers a unique blend of convenience and charm. With its spacious layout and open-air design, visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll while exploring an array of shops. From well-known national brands to charming independent boutiques, there's something for everyone—from fashion and beauty to food and jewelry. Parking is a breeze with ample options available both in the basement and outdoors, making it easy to access this vibrant hub.
This is our ultimate most fav mall. When we first went on holiday to mosselbay a year ago, we did all our gift shopping at the mall. And ever since when we go there there's always a surprise waiting there for us.. any clothing items or shoes you looking for here in cape town, you wìll find it there. Will be back there January, God willing 🙏🙏

Pros: Good medium-size mall (compared to Capetown malls). All major stores are available in the mall. It is open-space mall. Plenty of car parking (in the basement and in the open space). It is good to walk and do shopping (best if the weather is not too cold or rainy). Good location. Very secure. Cons: there is no food court inside the mall (there is only: wimby in the mall, one coffee shop in the mall, and Mcdonald in the car parking).
Adel R — Google review
Located centrally within the Mossel Bay area, close to the N2. Road construction presents a challenge for those entering the centre. Lots of parking, both above and under ground. Access to shops for those in wheelchairs, with special parking bays. The centre has shops to cater for most needs. The main tenants are Pick n Pay and Game. The major banks have branches there. One of only two big shopping malls.
Hilton W — Google review
Langeberg Mall offers a solid and reliable shopping experience in the Garden Route region. With a good tenant mix, ample parking and family-friendly facilities, it ticks many boxes of what one expects from a suburban shopping centre. However, some operational and environmental aspects prevent it from being outstanding.
Alex L — Google review
It's the kind of mall where one feels like you are having a stroll, rather than shopping. A strong nautical architectural feel that's reminiscent of a waterfront development. Large areas are open air, no stuffy confined spaces and most on one level. All major chain stores plus some smaller independent shops for lunches, cheese and gifts.
Daniel S — Google review
I've been buying second hand books from this book shop at langeberg mall for past few years. Their books are well priced. Very friendly people there😍 . They also sell very beautiful paintings. I recommend this book shop.
Tlalane E — Google review
I'm a regular here and this mall has almost everything you could need. There are hidden gems (All things marine aquatics) and major chains like Checkers and Clicks.
Marna G — Google review
A mall nothing more or less. They had a lot of shops just need a bit for coffe places 😁

Beautiful. Clean, neat, tidy with ample parking. Not one single paper or cigarette stub at the promenade all the way down to the beach. Well catered for all walks of life; joggers, cyclists, skaters and wheel chair access all the way down. Well done as this is what a holiday destination should look like. Neat benches

Awesome beach. Can watch the surfers as they catch waves. The beach is quiet during off season, really nice to relax.

A lovely beach with plenty place to spread out in crowded summer months, as long as you don't mind a beach walk. Technically, you can walk to Little Brak from here and further if you walk along the rail line that runs parallel with the beach. Great for a hike, a swim and wild life spotting.
Georgia A — Google review
Excellent beach. Warm water. Calmer than the the others in Mossel Bay. Crazy full though in December peak. Beautiful little rocks and shells everywhere with little sea snails crawling around. So much of fun to be had for the kids. ..........................................................................................................................................

What a lovely beach. The water was warm and waves were actually very big. Lifeguards on duty and the nets are wide and far out enough not to feel cramped in the space. Had a great day. The beach has showers and toilets.

Awesome view of the bay area including some whales & dolphins. Sunrise was the best view of the day! Nice clean beach & has safety nets to keep the swimmers safe. Would definitely want to visit there again!
Rasheed H — Google review
Toasted sandwiches were tiny, and seriously overpriced! Not pet friendly. We had to order a take away, took ages even though it was early morning and they only had a handful of customers. Think it came with 10 chips, possibly less. Just an all around disappointment for a visitor from Cpt, where you expect to pay more for less. But that's not the case.♡cpt I can see the appeal to Santos in terms of location. It's a pity, we were very excited and hopeful for a good experience.
Natasha D — Google review
A very nice beach, not the most idyllic one but it is very nice overall. The sanitary facilities are free and clean, the beach is clean, there are several good places to get food or drinks... Very very good public beach, I would definitely recommend going there when visiting Mosselbaai.
Thomas V — Google review
One of the cleanest beaches I've seen in a while. Calm water, not for surfers, but great for small kids. Water was clean and warm. Great little kiosk right there selling snacks, delicious draairoomys (softserve) and takeaway food. The Santos Express is right there for a bigger meals or drinks and so is one of the oldest beach pavilions with great architecture and a restaurant.

Normally a good mall to visit. However, their security leaves much to be desired. I dropped a person with medical problems on the loading zone. I never left the car and the enjin was running. Two security guards came to chase me - very humiliating. And to boot the one guy called me an idiot. Maybe I shall not go there again which is a pity.
Eksteen W — Google review
Grew up with this mall, always a pleasure. The security is great shops are well situated and groomed. Love this mall always clean and car guards are well trained. Love it!
Kayleigh K — Google review
The mall management is not customer friendly. The entrance to the mall has a series if one ear streets, so if you don't get the exact labe right you have to drive around the block again, evit the mall parking, and reenter. If you are towing a trailer you are chased away by the parking attendants when claim no trailers are allowed in the parking area. You have to pard on the furtheredt parking and walk form th opposite fide of the mall simple to go to KFC on th composite side. If you want to put in fuel at the shell garage but are in the one way lane you have to re-exit the mall parking drive back around the block because the mall management has blocked the labe that allows access to the shell garage from the Paring lot. Really frustrating, with strictl parking attendants who enforce the managements endless rules and regulations that are not customer friendly. Subnor a nice place to visit.

The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex is a maritime site that offers a glimpse into Mossel Bay's early significance for European sailors. Named after the 15th-century Portuguese explorer, Bartholomeu Dias, the complex features a life-sized model of his sailing vessel and an aquarium. Visitors can start their journey at the museum shop, which showcases various souvenirs including handmade caravels.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much there was to see and experience at the Bartolomeu Dias Museum – all for just R10 entrance! The variety of exhibits was impressive, from the maritime displays to the Shell Museum, and even the historic Post Office Tree. It’s such a well-kept, informative, and peaceful place, perfect for both adults and kids. One of the highlights was the life-size replica of Dias’s caravel – even though we couldn't go on board, it was still awe-inspiring to see up close. The ethnobotanical garden added a lovely natural touch to the visit, and the aquarium with live molluscs was fascinating. Overall, this museum offers incredible value and a great way to spend a few hours soaking in some local history and nature. Highly recommend it to anyone passing through Mosslbay 👌🏻

5/5 Stars - A Must-Visit for History and Art Lovers! The Diaz Museum in Mossel Bay is an absolute gem! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I was particularly captivated by the impressive collection of paintings and the intricately detailed ship models, which truly bring the history of maritime exploration to life. It's a wonderful place to spend a few hours immersing yourself in the rich heritage of the region. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an engaging and informative experience, especially if you appreciate art and historical artifacts!

We visited the Bartolomeu Dias Museum in Mossel Bay and really enjoyed it. The grounds are spacious and beautifully maintained, and the exhibits are well presented. We especially loved the shell museum and the life-size replica of Dias’s caravel — both are fascinating and worth seeing. The museum offers a great mix of history and natural beauty, and it’s easy to spend a few relaxing hours exploring. The only small downside was that the ladies’ bathroom didn’t have toilet paper, but otherwise everything was excellent. Definitely worth a stop if you’re travelling the Garden Route — a well-run and interesting museum with lots to see and learn.
Alet P — Google review
I was very pleasantly surprised by this museum. From the outside, it looks quite unassuming, but there’s so much more than meets the eye. Inside, everything is neat, well-maintained, and thoughtfully presented. The maritime museum is packed with fascinating information, and the shell museum was an unexpected highlight—with a fun mix of aquarium exhibits and display cases showcasing an incredible variety of shells. A great experience overall!

The Diaz Museum is situated at Mossel Bay, great collection and very rich in history. If you like the history, this is place you must visit.
Gavin K — Google review
Not too badly priced to enter. Very well maintained with an additional aquarium and shell exhibit. Beautiful gardens and very educational. Well worth a visit. Id highly recommend coming here
Duwayne P — Google review
Enjoyed our visit to the museum! Lots of information available, however feel this a opportunity missed. There are so much more that can be done to make the museum more interactive and maybe add a “show” factor to it. It is a stage screaming for a production and the facilities are there, it should just be made use of! But overall a great visit for history lovers!

Seafood restaurant
Cafe Gannet Restaurant in Mossel Bay is renowned for its seafood offerings and is a popular choice among locals and tourists. Situated in the Garden Route, this restaurant has received acclaim for its fresh local ingredients and delectable dishes. With a focus on seafood, visitors can expect a diverse menu featuring an array of ocean delights.
Visited twice and both times were fantastic! The first visit was for the Cape St. Blaze gin and chocolate pairing—if you’re a fan of Turkish delight, the white bottle is a must-try. We also had sushi, and it was absolutely delicious, especially the prawn dragon rolls - definitely worth ordering. The only downside was the slow service; we ended up spending almost two hours in the restaurant. Our second visit was for Valentine's Day, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the welcome drinks waiting at our table to the heart-shaped ginger and chocolate cookies, the attention to detail was perfect. Our waiter was, hands down, the best I’ve ever had. In a packed restaurant, she somehow managed to keep everything flowing smoothly without making us feel rushed or neglected. I wish I had asked for her name! For starters we had the Mossel Bay Oysters and Snail Cigars and we had the Mossel Bay sole for mains and it was like a symphony on the taste buds. Every bite was incredible. We’ll definitely be back!

The atmosphere was next level, vibrant yet relaxed, with such a great vibe and attention to detail in everything from the décor to the music. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and definitely a place I’d recommend visiting in Mossel Bay!

Having been a patron of Gannet since its opening days, I've witnessed its evolution into one of the premier dining establishments in Mossebay. The culinary quality of the food is consistently impressive, making it a standout choice for food enthusiasts. A special mention must go to the exceptional service provided by Alvene, Thembi, and Sonja. Their warm and attentive service makes every visit feel like a royal experience. Additionally, Elvis and Antionette deserve recognition for their outstanding contributions to the dining experience. The interior design is striking, combining top-quality finishes with an upscale atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. Gannet also features a stylish bar area and an outside patio that offers breathtaking views of Santos Beach, making it a perfect spot for enjoying a meal in nature. In conclusion, Gannet is a high-end restaurant that consistently exceeds expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an excellent meal paired with exceptional service in a beautiful setting.

Unfortunately, the food here was pretty disappointing but it was expected after seeing a very large menu. The Thai Green Curry Chicken was lackluster as it lacked the distinct sweetness of a green curry while only tasting spicy and salty. The roti in the lamb curry was also quite sad as it was soft with a paper like texture. The coconut rice was also quite underwhelming because there was no hit of coconut, just normal rice. The staff were very nice and friendly though as they took their time to split the bill for a very big table whilst remembering whose food belonged to who as we were in a group of 18.

Cafe Gannet in Mossel Bay is an absolute gem, earning a well-deserved 5 stars! During my visit, I savored their exquisite vegan curry, a vibrant medley of fresh vegetables and aromatic spices that danced on the palate, perfectly balanced and utterly delicious. Paired with it was their pina colada, a tropical masterpiece—creamy, refreshing, and blended to perfection, it transported me straight to a beachside paradise. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with attentive staff who made the experience even more enjoyable. Every detail, from the presentation to the flavors, was spot-on. Cafe Gannet is a must-visit for anyone craving exceptional food and a fabulous atmosphere. I can’t wait to return!

Piza e Vino, located on the first floor of Hartenbos Seefront, offers stunning ocean views and serves generous portions of delicious pasta in the traditional Italian style. This great pizza place allows customers to enjoy a half and half option, perfect for those who can't decide on just one pizza. Additionally, children can have fun by making their own pizzas as a delightful activity. The restaurant provides beautiful sea views that enhance the dining experience.
Great place, with great wine and food! The server - Tanya was super nice and friendly! Totally worth it! The view is worth it!

We always love dining at this restaurant, especially for their delicious red wine, sangria, and high-quality food. Today, we visited with our dog, and while they are dog-friendly, they only allow pets in the downstairs area. Unfortunately, it was an extremely cold day with a significant cold front moving in. Upon arrival, we noticed a gentleman inside who was working on his laptop. He was having online meetings and was disruptively loud, which was inappropriate for such a confined, tiny indoor space. It's a restaurant, not an office! Not wanting to make a scene, we opted to sit outside. As for the food, I was disappointed with the Pasta di Mare. The seafood elements that were supposed to accompany the pasta seemed to be poorly prepared, with most of the fish items blended into a mushy consistency. The only redeemable item was the mussels, which were visible. On a positive note, the service was excellent! A heartfelt thank you to Cristelle and Armand for their attentive care.

September 2025 • Summary: What a turnaround in our experience. We had a bit of an issue during our previous visit in February 2025, but this time around it surpassed our expectations. We visited on a Tuesday for their pasta special – the Braised Lamb Ravioli is excellent! The service and the food were excellent. Taryn, the manager was even floating around and assisting waiters with service of customers! We will definetly be back during our next visit to Hartenbos – highly recommended! • Plus: Braised Lamb Ravioli. No corkage when sharing a bottle of wine between the 2 of us! • Minus: N/A February 2025 We have had good service in the past at Pizza e Vino (Hartenbos) over the years, BUT 1st time ordering a pizza take-away, it all went awry. We asked waiter to bring pizza immediately when done (due to loadshedding we could not reheat it in our unit). We eventually went to the counter and observed that the pizza had been taken out of oven. It got stuck on the wooden spatula and the cook actually forced the pizza using his bare hands into the box. Pizza pieces all over in the box. Again using his bare hands re-arranged the pizzas to try and form a circle again. VERY UNHEGIENIC way of working with food. We also observed that the dough was still soft (not crusty) and we ordered extra garlic (for which we paid), but found no garlic when we ate it! I doubt if we will ever visit this restaurant again. I 'phoned Tharon (manager for the day) and she said that she would follow-up. O, and we never saw the waiter again who took our order - probably made more money at serving tables? The photo attached is the pizza as we opened the box outside of restaurant. The box also quite greasy due to bare hands handling pizza and box.

This place has good food and a very beautiful view of the beach and bay. The service is also good. We've been here many times before and always enjoy the atmosphere. We just wish it was pet friendly, at least on the outside area, like many other places are in Mossel Bay.

R840 badly spent. What a waste of my money!!!! Lamb shank was bad, tasted off. The baked bread that comes with livers was stale. Multiple menus that you keep having to request for. Waitress couldn't remember prices for the items in the drinks menu that were not priced. Honestly terrible. This was our third visit and definitely the worst. Disgusting!!!!

Amazing little gem, the staff always walk the extra mile. Food is amazing and affordable. The views are also breathtaking 😍

I was surprised with the negative reviews here, as far as my experience goes everything was fine. It is a nicely located place with good views on the beach and a good atmosphere. We enjoyed a beer and a few snacks here, nothing to complain about except that the price was a bit high.

Just stop by if you want a coffee, it's the most beautiful view and such a good service and nice people.

Mossel Bay clearly is not comparable to Paris or Monaco… therefore our expectations were not very high. Overall verdict, the pluses are the attractive location, the waitress tried her best, however on the culinary side although fish and calamari were of good quality, no seasoning, vegetables overcooked, french fries under fried and saggy. Standard perhaps sufficient for local population due to lack of competition but not by city standards.

If I could give it 10 stars I would!! Pizza, poke bowl and grilled calamari was absolutely amazing!!! Our waiter , Justin was so on top of it, fantastic , all the staff! And the cocktails were also awesome!! Shout out to Fork and Train you guys are awesome ! Keep doing what you're doing. <3 :)

We had a really pleasant stay at the Protea Hotel. The staff was so friendly and welcoming to us. The place and the room was also very nice. We tried the restaurant for dinner and weren't disappointed. Also the breakfast was very tasty. You can make your own Gin if you like 👍🏼 Totally recommend!

Absolutely amazing service!! The ladies at the front were so sweet and so informative. A gentleman carried my bags up while the desk attendant followed with a complimentary drink order they offer when you arrive. We arrived at my room and the gentleman set my bags down while the attendant set my drink down and both wished me a good stay, ensuring I could ask them for anything if needed. I had just driven from J-bay so I was excited to relax. Their beautiful and clean rooms made it easy to do just that, with a beautiful view of the Bay. Thank you all so much. I will ONLY stay at Protea when visiting Mossel Bay.

Our stay at this hotel’s studio was exceptional from start to finish. The studio was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was cozy, the atmosphere was quiet and everything felt well-maintained. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, always ready to help with a smile. Would definitely come back. Highly recommended!

Dear Protea Hotel Mossel Bay TEAM, Thank you for making sure my mom, traveling on her own during a very difficult time was taken care of when we were not there to ensure it. Our every request prior to her visit was met with such professionalism. Invoices and communication turnaround times from Alfonso was super fast and gave us such peace of mind. It was really very visible that our mom and her experience at your property was of utmost importance to the Hotel team. From a personal note written on our behalf, to a cake with the words "We love you" written on the plate with chocolate... it was all executed exactly as we arranged. My mom cant stop talking about her luxurious experience in the room, the delicious breakfast and the friendly staff. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Regards, Maretha

I just had one of the most EXCEPTIONAL experiences staying at this hotel and having traveled to over 50 countries staying in various hotels around the world, I can quite easily say this was probably one of my best experiences. From the minute I walked into that hotel, I was greeted by Whitney and I immediately felt at home and I was dealt with professionally from that minute onwards, every single staff member I met while at the hotel was amazing, from the lady standing behind the eggs to the waitress, and then I was met by the door at breakfast by a lady who seated me and greeted me in a warm and welcoming way, little did I know that she was the General Manager. During breakfast, I asked if I could speak to the owner or the GM, the owner wasn't there and so this lady walked up to my table and introduced herself as the Valthia the GM, and she was the lady who met me at the door when I arrived for breakfast. I then proceeded to tell her my story and that she was EXCEPTIONAL and hence why I could see why the staff were also amazing. As long as I live, I will always stay at this hotel if I'm in the area, well done Valthia, you should be extremely proud. P.S. I only have one bit of advice, when you serve that welcoming Gin drink, make sure you ask your guest if they drink alcohol before giving it to them :)

We enjoyed our visit at the casino, it's clean tidy and awesome friendly staff, we went to the Bravo Lounge with family, we had breakfast, lunch and platters there. There is a big screen we enjoyed the rugby and cricket, the food is awesome, friendly service and the place has a nice atmosphere. With a lot of specials

Very friendly staff and a major time passer. I would recommend this place to many people that want a break from the outside world. Has affordable accommodation in comparison with what you get and to the other places in the town. Lovely buffet every day with lots of options for less than R200 if I'm not mistaken it is R179. But go there and have some fun there is a arcade for the children as well for that perfect break you need. Also Wheelchair friendly and lots of security around i have never had a bad day / night there. Highly recommend.

Im a grownup that still likes kids games so we had to try out the arcade.. well, that really sucked to say the least.. the food at the buffet was our reason for coming on a Friday, real good value for a cheap date night. Great conversations with the staff made it a pleasant and enjoyable time.

The casino is very well maintained, always neat and always good service from most staff. The dealers are always so kind and fun to play with around the roulette table. The floor service knows exactly when you need a refreshing drink, too! In addition, there is the Billy G Buffet, which, as a person who doesn't eat meat, I must say, has a huge variety for all. And for those who want to bring their kiddies along, let them play a selection of exciting arcade vames, which entertained even us as adults, just across the restaurant entrance.... Thank you for yet another great experience! We'll be back. UPDATE: We went again on 16 May and the food quality was not as good as usual. Maybe due to low season?
Choné A — Google review
Very nice atmosphere and the food is great. As buffet menu, you have an assortment to choose from - from soup to saucy seafoods to stews to stirfry to baked vegetables and an assortment of meats. They also have a range of deserts from ice cream to hot puddings to waffles and mousses. You pay a fixed fee per person (children pay discounted) however drinks are excluded. There is a children's play area opposite the restaurant (but still in the casino) with sitters. Parking is free and secure.

Point of Human Origins

Hiking area
The Point of Human Origins, located in Mossel Bay, is an archaeological site featuring caves with evidence of human occupation dating back to the Middle Stone Age. Visitors can explore Cave 13B on guided tours and walk along wooden walkways. The site is about a 4.5-hour drive from Cape Town and offers beautiful views along the way. Additionally, nearby attractions include the Pinnacle Point golf resort and a mosaic art tunnel that showcases local craftsmanship.
This will make you proud to be South African, or at least to learn more about the discoveries around the history of human intelligence. There's a bit of a hike to get to the caves, dress comfortably. The ocean breeze is lovely, and you can even spot some dolphins from up there. Our guide was very insightful and accommodating. Lovely family outing.

An extraordinary and sacred experience! Revisiting the history books and rediscovering the lost wisdom of our ancestors! The conscious connection to nature calls, the only question is, will you answer? Thank you for guiding us through this experience, Christopher!
Zea R — Google review
Although you only see the entrance of the cave and goes inside only to the first few meters, this is a visit FULL of story. Christopher, our guide, provided great explanations about the findings and its scientific implications. The pathway is long, but isn’t as bad as it seems. It requires pre-booking - the access is through a golf club and there’s plenty of parking.

Definitely worth it. There are quite some steps, so make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Very insightful tour and our guide, Christopher, was great. Bookings are a must but very friendly and helpful staff

A wonderful experience. Make sure to wear the right shoes that offer you ankle support. Christopher was an epic guide. Highly recommend this guided walk.
Ryan N — Google review
This was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Christopher, was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. The tour involves walking down from the clifftop to the cave just above the beach via walkways and stairs. It is not too strenuous and very picturesque. The tour starts from the golf club restaurant parking lot, it was a bit unusual but once Christopher arrived all went well. Highly recommended, educational and interesting.

Diaz Water Park

4.2

Water park
Diaz Water Park is a fantastic family-friendly destination, especially during the warm summer months. The park offers various supertube rides for an exhilarating experience. Additionally, visitors can enjoy heated pools during the colder seasons. Established in 1982, this beloved family business has been a favorite among Western Cape families for generations. Located in Mossel Bay, it provides ample seating and is conveniently situated next to the beach.
We visited Dias Water Park over the Easter weekend, so it was quite busy. We paid R170 per person for the afternoon session and stayed for about an hour.Unfortunately, the weather changed suddenly, so we didn’t get to try all the rides — but we still enjoyed the few we managed to go on. There were plenty of helpers stationed throughout the park, which was great for safety and guidance. The food trucks on site were a nice surprise with great options. We didn’t make use of the bathroom facilities, so can’t comment on that. Overall, a fun visit despite the weather.
Tilana M — Google review
A really nice smallish waterpark. There are only about 6 rides, but they’re pretty enjoyable, the majority of which are using a large doughnut tube to ride. Lots of fun for kids and adults with small kid rides as well as more exhilarating free fall rides for grownups. Toilets could use with some TLC and soap and the areas around the slides could use with a cleanup to remove sludge buildup. But otherwise, a good spot to go that isn’t filled with too many people. Price is a bit steep at R250pp but overall I think it’s a spot I’d actually recommend.
Posh B — Google review
Simply disgusting! Our visit to Diaz Water Park was unfortunately a complete disaster. We wanted to treat our children and, based on the pictures from Google Maps, expected a well-maintained water park. Unfortunately, that was far from the case. The entire facility is in an extremely neglected state. This includes the toilets, the slides, the stairs, and the picnic area by the toddler pool. The toddler area was the worst. There was a lot of bird droppings on and in the pool. The water had a brownish tint that was more repulsive than inviting. In the picnic area, there was a damaged bench with a screw sticking out. All of this in the toddler area. This is dangerous and hazardous to health! I confronted the manager about it. He just shrugged his shoulders about the bench and the screw. His response to the bird droppings in the pool was, "I can't do anything about nature. I'd have to clean the pools every day." I completely agreed with him: he should clean the pools every day. The water was simply disgusting. While there was less droppings in the other areas, they didn't seem clean either. Safety standards are also lacking. Staff only appear sporadically at the slides to help and check if everyone is following the rules of conduct. This is also dangerous and grossly negligent. I also find it concerning that there is a slide with a run-out zone that is 1.20m deep. However, if you slide down on a ring, you easily glide on the water into the area where the pool is 3m deep – a life-threatening danger for non-swimmers! The so-called "Lazy River" is also not for lazy people. If you don't paddle yourself, you either have to hope that an employee is nearby to pull you along with a wooden pole, or you'll circle in a whirlpool forever and never reach the end. Furthermore, the facility offers neither changing areas, so you have to change in the dirty and run-down toilets, nor are there lockers for valuables. All in all, a thoroughly disappointing and not recommended experience.
Martin Z — Google review
Great fun! When you are planning a visit, just be aware that the park closes 5pm, not 6pm. The info on the webpage is incorrect.
Anel Z — Google review
This water park used to be one of the best...however shockingly upon our visit we could see the decay, worst is that the water is green. I hope that they will give it a good overhaul during the winter months.
Patrick B — Google review
We had a blast of a time - 40 and 60 year old adults feeling like children again. Only reason I am scoring a 4-star is seeing gow the owner was screaming and swearing at some of the employees. He didn't notice us, as a few minutes later, he was welcoming us with his dog. Apart from that, it was amazing
Chantal T — Google review
What a an amazing place. We had so much fun. The lifeguards were on top form and kept us all safe a the time. Helping us with the little ones. Buying a season ticket is real value for money. Keep up the good work.
Jackie D — Google review
We visited Diaz Water Park with the kids over Easter Weekend. Diaz Waterpark in dire need of some TLC. The amount we paid should then get clean and clear (blue) water. Life Savers and or helpers should be improved as many areas the swimmers got to many in one area and normal visitors needed to assist.( The lazy river slides). Bathrooms can get overhaul and be cleaned regularly. Especially asking R25 per visitor not swimming. Please add more seating capacity and shade, this also can be improved as this is terrible setup.

Resort hotel
Diaz Hotel & Resort is a laid-back accommodation with direct beach access and a water park. The luxurious sea-facing rooms feature balconies offering breathtaking views. The hotel's on-site restaurant and two bars provide delicious dining options, while the spacious rooms are well-appointed with amenities like en-suite bathrooms and satellite TV channels. Guests praise the friendly staff and highlight the convenient location, making it an ideal spot for families during summer holidays.
Rooms are well equiped, location is central Cape town. The breakfast buffet was exquisite, though vegetarian options are highly limited
Soumyadev S — Google review
The website / reservation pricing is much more than booking.com so check prices and specials first before making your booking. Secondly if you are a Discovery client the prices are even better depending on your status. While we were excited about how nice the rooms are, the safe was a problem and it took two days to sort out but the worst was the bath. It appears than in an attempt to refurbish the bath to cover up all the brown dirt stains the bath was painted. Big mistake - as the paint is flacking off and you then have white paint floating all over the water, sticking to you and the brown stains are extremely off putting. We complained to management and were informed that they know about the problem - THEN WHY check clients into the room?????? It doesn’t help offering to let you change rooms once you are already unpacked. The head of house keeping was very apologetic and polite but sadly this did not resolve the disgusting bath tub issue. We had a very COLD meal on Saturday evening as we were guests at a wedding and the dinner was played but not very warm at all. The staff are very pleasant and friendly but the staff and management/ owner definitely don’t resolve problems. I felt very sorry for the head of housekeeping to have to apologize for the lack of service from the technical staff and maintenance staff. In general the hotel is very nice with a more than adequate buffet breakfast. We would stay here again as the rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable.

Stunning location, hotel was very neat and clean and comfortable, room was very big with a balcony, beautiful ocean views. Only negative is the staff, they need to be more attentive and make guests feel welcome. They were totally disinterested, even on check out and check in. My husband had sent them a request beforehand via booking.com as we were celebrating my birthday. They confirmed they would arrange flowers, champagne and balloons but on arrival nobody knew of the request. If you didn't greet them they are oblivious to your presence and huddle together to chat amongst themselves. They need to be more hospitable but other than the disappointing staff, the hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay.
Kubashnee N — Google review
Room was clean and comfy. Bed a bit hard but good. Views of ocean side were phenomenal! Sound of waves crashing was fantastic background noise. Parking a bit scarce by door bit more is offered underground. Restaurant options not 1st choice. Drove off site for supper. Room safe not the easiest to work.

Stayed 3 nights. Courteous staff. Parking is available. Each room has ocean view. Numerous activities. Had breakfasts and dinners at the Jewel of India restaurant. Decent food. Recommend that water sprinklers/water jets be attached to toilet seats so that toilet paper rolls be dispensed away. Lesser trees to be cut for making toilet rolls.
Krishan C — Google review
Great location. On the beachfront. The lights on the passageway didn't work properly. So it was dark as you stepped out of the lifts. The hotel is a bit dated but the location makes up for it
Fazlin M — Google review
What a let down. Service do not deserve a 1 star. Maybe 0.1 stars. We were 6 people. Food arrived in drips and draps. The 6 meals arrived in a span of 20 minutes. First person's meal were done before last arrived. One waitress was washing cutlery in a bowl at the counter right next to a table with people. I politely asked her to do the washing in the kitchen. Spoke to the manager, not of any help. Obviously with such service like this, not a lot of people in the place. Venue at a steep downhill slope
PAL O — Google review
We arrived late at 6 PM, exhausted and with kids. I asked if they had any rooms available, and they gave us a family room with two bedrooms and one bathroom. When my son went to the bathroom, the water was brown. I left it running for 10 to 20 minutes, but it didn’t help. When my husband went down to ask about the water, they said, “Sorry, we’re undergoing maintenance!” Moreover, the place was creepy, the colors were depressing, and it lacked safety! A family room with sharp metal edges? We moved to another place.

Hotel
Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort is an exclusive destination that offers an 18-hole golf course, outdoor pool, and a restaurant with stunning ocean views. The resort provides self-catering accommodation options such as the Family Apartment and Double Room. It's renowned for its spectacular golf course, offering a wonderful experience for players of all skill levels. The luxury estate is highly praised for its villa living, ocean views, and proximity to nature.
My stay at the Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf estate was truly phenomenal, an experience that combined breathtaking natural beauty with world-class golfing. The house itself offered an incredible view, where the serene ocean met the lush, rolling hills, and the golden sunsets painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. It was a sight that made every moment feel magical. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the golf. The course was immaculate, with pristine greens and fairways that made me feel like a PGA player, even with my mid-range handicap. Each hole was a new adventure, perfectly manicured and challenging in the most enjoyable way. The landscape added an extra layer of beauty to the game, with the coastal views providing a stunning backdrop to every swing. Every morning, waking up to the sound of the waves and the rustling palm trees set the perfect tone for the day. The evenings were equally enchanting, with the sunset over the ocean creating a tranquil and picturesque scene. It was more than just a stay; it was an unforgettable experience that blended relaxation, luxury, and the thrill of golf in the most perfect way.

What an experience being on top of an actual functioning lighthouse. The lighthouse keeper (Marius) seemed very eccentric and quirky, which 100% adds to the intrigue of the whole vibe there. I would very highly recommend going to check out the lighthouse and the absolute unreal view while having coffee there.
Jacques D — Google review
Cape St. Blaize lighthouse is a wonderful place to visit if you're in the Mossel Bay area and you get an instant reward of the excellent views over the ocean, the town and harbour. The drive up to the lighthouse is tricky but not difficult and there are guards to assist you with parking. But the star of the lighthouse is no doubt Marius who is a person with a wonderful energy, passion and enthusiasm for the work he does here looking after the lighthouse and ensuring marine safety around the Cape. He is able to answer questions and conducts every tour, which costs R100 ($5.60) per person, and makes you feel like it's the first time he's done it. You get a free drink at the end of you tour. Also, he customises each tour based on the audience level so that you can understand the content easily. Downstairs you will find Truth Coffee which is a popular eatery for the locals who come to sit and take in the excellent view. It's difficult for wheelchair users to truly get the full experience, but the position of the lighthouse makes it hard to imagine how one could accommodate wheelchair users.

This was a spur-of÷the-moment visit. What a pleasant surprise. The view is fantastic and the restaurant was great. Cappucinos and cake served by friendly, competent staff made the climb (we drove up) really worthwhile.

A lovely experience! We were there this morning with a party of 8 people and a baby for the tour and a drink. The staff was friendly, warm and welcoming, and helped looked after my elderly grandmother when we went up the lighthouse. The man with the frizzy hair is very nice 😄 Would highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a view and a sip of something nice. R100 well spent!

Great relaxing and informative visit to this iconic landmark. Started of with great hospitality from the waitress that served us to the very knowledgeable and interesting tour of not only the lighthouse but also general facts about the shipping routes and the role this lighthouse have and am still playing for many, many years.. Thanks for a wonderful day!

After overcoming the stairs and the height, it’s an amazing place to go- beautiful view and the will be on the lighthouse alone with your partner- so no crowding at all. I got a yummy hot chocolate afterwards

We came from far for our honeymoon in Glentana, and decided to visit Mosselbay during the school holiday's on the 9th of October. While there, we wanted to visit the lighthouse... But upon coming there, they said they were closed. (Take note: this was an hour before the closing time; 4pm). We were told to park and walk up to the lighthouse. Upon walking all they way up, we got to the gate... Only to be laughed at by the security and told that we're not allowed there- They were already closed, despite it being 3 pm that day. We were not allowed to buy tickets... Only take a photo. I'm quite dissapointed. We both were looking forward to enjoying the view... 😔

The Shark Lab - Mini Aquarium offers hands-on experiences with small sharks and exhibits an octopus along with other marine creatures in tanks. Visitors can stroll through the aquarium to see tropical and local fish, as well as jaws/skeletal remains. For an additional fee, visitors can swim with the sharks; however, they are reminded not to touch or tap the glass. Though small, the aquarium is still worthwhile and has potential for further development if given more funding. The entry fee is R30 per person.
We went past to view the mini aquarium. Very friendly staff and very well maintained. I enjoyed it alot. They have rheir own shark and octopus. Educational and entertaining
Duwayne P — Google review
My heart broke when I saw how terrible the conditions are for all the marine life at this aquarium. The shark tank is unbelievable small, dark and depressing. The guide also admitted that the shark’s mental state has deteriorated because it is actually a bottom feeder but frantically swims at the top of the tank all day long, which is completely abnormal behaviour. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but I truly feel like this place should be shut down. Ever since leaving the aquarium I feel disturbed and truly heart sore for the fish that are held captive there for money.
Juariz R — Google review
My children and I enjoyed learning about all the water animals. We appreciate people saving animals living in harsh conditions. Please visit and support this gem of a place. They would appreciate your support helping these animals. The more visitors the better they can help and support these water creatures.
Elmarie R — Google review
Was disappointed with how much this little gem has gotten run down. Most tanks are empty, and those that have fish are in need of some serious TLC. The fake plants and gems thrown in tanks look cheap and nothing what it would look like in real rock pools (educational wise). Needs an urgent makeover. Feel I've wasted money @ R40pp (both children and adults) for a visit that only lasted 15min.

This is a joke. It’s the worst aquarium I’ve ever seen. Waste of money and time. It’s completely unhygienic.

Dissapointing - very limited animals..tour finished in 5min. Octopuss was nice to see - shark was hiding.

Very small and not a big variety marine life. However enjoyed the sharks and experienced friendly service.

A little aquarium... hidden like a starfish in the rocks. You should check it out though. Its affordable and the money goes towards food for the rescue sea creatures.

Mossel Bay Zipline

Outdoor activity organiser
Mossel Bay, a sought-after vacation spot in South Africa, offers an array of attractions such as beautiful beaches, diverse wildlife, and lively entertainment. The area is also home to nature reserves with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and historic sites that showcase its cultural heritage. One must-visit activity is the Mossel Bay zipline, known as the world's longest over-the-ocean zipline. Stretching 0.7 miles (1.
Absolutely worth it. There is a shuttle that takes you to the launch point
Chris E — Google review
Scenic but didn’t meet expectations I was excited to try the Mossel Bay Zipline given all the hype, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. While the view is absolutely beautiful — no doubt one of the main highlights — the overall experience felt a bit underwhelming. The ride itself was shorter and less thrilling than anticipated, and the process leading up to it (like waiting time, gear prep, and staff communication) could have been better organized. It felt more rushed than exciting. It’s worth doing if you’ve never ziplined before or if you’re there mainly for the scenery, but if you’re looking for a real adrenaline-filled zipline adventure, this might not be it.
Faisal A — Google review
Amazing experience! Staff very helpful and friendly! Beautiful views and will definitely go again
Bianca A — Google review
Definitely not worth the hype and price. Views are beautiful but was an extremely underwhelming experience. Paid for photos for my niece just for one of the staff members to end up “fetching” her and spoiling the photos! Lady helping where you pay was also extremely unfriendly and not helpful at all. Big shout out to Zikhona and Petrus though - they were friendly. All in all 3/10 experience for me - could’ve went without it. My reply: Thank you for your response. Just to clarify, my rating was not made as a spectator — I actually did the zipline myself and went before her. I also stopped short, and in my case, no staff member came out to assist. I do understand that factors like wind can impact the experience, and I don’t hold anyone responsible for that. That said, I was still able to finish the zip and get my photos without any obstruction from staff, which made a difference. My comments were based on the full experience! We do have videos from spectators if you need it.
Kay-Lynn B — Google review
This is An Adrenaline Rush with Breathtaking Views! Zipping over the ocean at Mossel Bay was an absolute thrill! The views from the top of the mountain were breathtaking, and the feeling of soaring through the air with the wind whipping past me was exhilarating. The 1km zipline is definitely a must-do for any adventure seeker visiting Mossel Bay. The friendly staff put our group of six at ease, and the entire experience was well-organized and safe. My only gripe was with the photo package. While it's great to have a souvenir of the adventure, I wish they offered a video option to capture the full experience of flying over the ocean. A few basic photos don't quite do it justice. Despite the lackluster photo package, I wholeheartedly recommend the Mossel Bay Zipline. It's an unforgettable experience that will leave you buzzing with adrenaline and awe-inspired by the stunning scenery.

Its nice and clean inside with friendly people. There is quite a variety of stuff to buy there. . It was a nice outing to go there and browse. Unfortunately nothing worth buying for myself. There was a few stalls that are a bit questionable due to prices for the services and products they provide so I would suggest to compare online prices.

Romonza Boat Trips offers a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy the natural beauty of the Indian Ocean and Mossel Bay while embarking on various exciting trips. From year-round Seal Island tours to sunset cruises, boat-based whale watching, and eco-safaris, there's something for everyone. Visitors have praised the friendly staff and the breathtaking experience of witnessing thousands of seals and their babies at Seal Island.
We did the sunset cruise. Was magical and amazing. Went through the bay and past seal island. The crew are very knowledgeable and friendly. Was worth every penny. Drinks are affordable onboard and the yacht has toilets and very comfortable cruising. Well worth it

We came in the "off season" of sorts. Light rain experienced the evening before but great weather on the day of. We expected the trip to be cancelled but we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely weather and beautiful sights. Filling in the indemnity forms were quick and painless. The lady at the office was nice. The "guide" was incredibly nice and personable. He made sure that we were comfortable and had optimal seating for the trip. There was no real "tour" provided, just a cruise out of the harbour to seal island and back but it was serene and enjoyable. We thought it was worth the money. No complaints here. We booked the night before but the other guests booked just before the tour started so no recommendations on what works best.

De Bakke Santos is a charming beach destination in South Africa, known for its modest chalets offering stunning ocean views and patios with BBQ areas. The beach holds the esteemed Blue Flag status, ensuring its beauty, safety, and environmental responsibility. It's an ideal spot for families, offering activities like swimming, surfing, canoeing, snorkeling, and fishing. The camping facilities are modern and clean with ample hot water.
Great camp ground. Easy walk to the beach. No problems with security while we were there. Service by staff is generally very good. They could just add additional patrols to keep unruly campers in-check. Great experience ruined by idiots who have no regards for other campers
Andre O — Google review
Very disappointed, drove 1400 km to have a quiet and relaxing camping experience, only to find some locals use it for cheap long term accomodation (up to 11 months a year), turning it into a part squatter camp. The machinery used, sometimes makes it sound like a furniture workshop at one campsite. The people created a pest by feeding the pigeons, and management seems oblivious in this regard.
Shanre D — Google review
Good location but thats about it. The chalets was rather dirty when we got there with rat poo and cockroach legs to be found. There was also no shower so we ended up making use of the camping ablution showers.

I Ask to booked a chalet for 2 nights, I was told there is space and I could choose between 2 places. When I wanted to pay another lady came in and the I got told, no they can only help for one night as a huge group of children will arrive and they can only give me the chalet for one night as they will not have time the next day to clean the rooms before the group arrive the day after. The Friday the group only arrived late afternoon. They lost out on the opportunity to let me stay another night as the chalets were all empty the next day. I was very disappointed in the service. Most of the chalets was empty. I would have understood if they were fully booked.

What a great place to stay! We really enjoyed our time in the chalets. All the basics are there to make your stay really enjoyable. Great views from the chalets aswell. Food was delicious. Some of it just a bit expensive. Can't pre-book to ensure you have a place when you are on your way there. It was really really busy, but we had to go and ask for a waiter, multiple times. Because it is so busy, we wanted to just go to the bar and get drinks, but apparantly thats not allowed. Ladies toilets are very bad, only 2 of the 4 have seats. Unfortunately the arcade games can only work with the new R2, and none were available, so that also understandable, so just ensure you take some with you. It has very great potential, and can atleast keep the kids busy when it is raining. The managers were very helpful and trying to accommodate us. Just little stuff that needs a bit of attention.

Big Blu Restaurant is a delightful gem located right by the beach, offering an inviting Surf Cafe atmosphere that perfectly complements its stunning ocean views. This vibrant eatery specializes in fresh seafood and local dishes, allowing diners to embark on their own culinary journey with a variety of tapas-style options. From mouthwatering calamari and fresh fish to flavorful sliders featuring pulled pork, beef, and chicken, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
We highly recommend this bar and restaurant located right on the edge of Blougat, a picturesque area in Mossel Bay known for it's crashing waves at high tide and tranquil swimming sessions during calmer tides Additionally, the world-famous zipline ends here, adding to it's appeal. We truly enjoyed the delicious platters and cocktails. A special mention goes to Lauren, the manager, who deserves a high praise. She is not only a gracious host but is also actively engaged with guests throughout their experience. Our waitress, Michelle, provided excellent service as well. Restaurant exceptionally clean. The cocktails were delightful, and the views from the outdoor deck are absolutely mesmerizing. Overall, this establishment offers a fantastic ambiance, great amenities, and a memorable dining experience.

Big blu restaurant had a seafood platter for one special (R175) which included your choice of free beverage. This restaurant is located on the shoreline with the small aquarium below and zip line across. We had a table next to the fireplace, which created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service was quick and friendly. The food portion was large and enjoyable. My calamari was a little bit chewy, but my wife's calamari was perfect. Will visit again when in the area.

Bit disappointed in this place, had higher hopes. They were out of a few things, including any milkshakes. And they do not serve sushi anymore if anyone wanted to know (like someone posted). The mussels plate was extremely small for the price. A few tiny ones for R80, but one of the mussels did not even have anything in, just an empty shell. Atleast our server was super nice and fast and the views are gorgeous.🌊

This restaurant has a outside section for when the weather is good and an indoor section for when the weather isn’t that great. They have an awesome smoking section with a selection of swings, bar tables and chairs and lounge type chairs. It’s low key and a great place to have a sundowner. The service was fast and friendly. It’s an awesome location next to the ocean and with a view of the lighthouse and cave.

What a beautiful day it was yesterday with my wife's bday, cocktail and a nice beer, stage was set stunning view, we decided to stay for lunch, we took the Hake, Capper and chips with salad. i asked the waiter how is the portions as its R140 a plate and if its not big enough i would rather walk up to spur and would also have an amazing view, she replied portions are good. So i was convinced to stay. Then the food arrive, no option was given for grilled or fried on the fish thats the first, 1 & half piece of hake and 10 chips i actually counted them, the side salad or garnish on the plate is 2 small pieces of lettuce with half a carrot and one slice of cucumber. I was so shocked that i couldn't react to the plate that was just placed in front of me for R140 each. Food was great very tasty fish was soft etc, chips was fresh. but at a R140 with a prime spot like that it was a proper let down. total bill was R 400 and we tipped R50 for the waiter R 450 total. Look at your portions, you can merge your kiddies menu with your main menu and no one would pick up the difference. Sad to say but this place will only see me for drinks, as the view and atmosphere is great

Big Blue is arguably the restaurant with the best views in the Mosselbay Waterfront (Point) area. From the deck area you have views of the iconic tidal pools (Die Poort Tidal Pool), the Mosselbay Zipline, the Cape St Blaize lighthouse and of course the magnificent Indian Ocean. The restaurant is very relaxed with indoor and outdoor seating areas, and is decorated in a laid-back beach style - they even have swings at the bar for you to relaxed on. It is important to note, that even if you sit inside, you will still have a great view as they have big windows facing the ocean. We visited for lunch and it was very nice, but the highlight for me was the cocktails which added to the "beach vibe". The staff was also friendly and they followed the Covid regulations that were in place at the time.

The London Bus Fish and Chips Company is a unique eatery set inside an original bus-themed establishment. It offers a variety of delicious seafood choices, such as the famous fish and chips and calamari. Despite some initial disappointment from one customer's experience, the overall ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, with its clean interior and magnificent views. The food itself was flavorful, reasonably priced, and served in satisfying portions. The staff were friendly and the seating arrangements provided ample opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
What a shoreline restaurant. The food was great, service was quick/friendly , price was good and the view/senary beautiful. We shared the bus combo (two hake, two fish cakes, chips and calamari - R160). Dining was done on the first floor overlooking the c shaped shore. Will definitely recommend that anyone shoul try the perfectly prepared food while enjoying the views Mosselbaai has to offer.

Fish&Chips were fine&fresh (batter a bit oily, chips could be more "home-made") but luckily for the calamari, which is exceptional, I give 5 star instead of 4 star. I have had quite a few calamari dishes from various places, this is worth the drive. View from the deck is wonderful, food prices are very reasonable too.

Carola Ann's is a charming Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant located in the heart of Mossel Bay. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience with a picturesque view of the town and a small cellar offering an array of wines. Known for its focus on healthy, locally sourced ingredients, Carola Ann's serves generous portions for breakfast, lunch, and wholesome smoothies. The menu combines both raw and cooked food to create beautiful and healthy dishes.
This place is wonderful. Creative menu with a Middle Eastern slant. Great breakfast and evening meal. Very flexible to specific requests. Staff are professional and this family owned and run business continues to give us a very positive reason to visit Mossel Bay. Give it a try and you will be in for a treat. Great building too. Beautiful upstairs terrace and patio garden at the back too.

This place is located in the main street in Mossel Bay CBD. Have a good view of the ocean. There is a casual vibe to this place. I had the Nachos and was pleasantly surprised by the difference in taste; it doesn't taste like Nachos as I know it, had a bit of a spicy taste to it, but I prefer this taste. The variety on the menu is not that much, and the prices are a bit more to the expensive side, but it tastes good.

Fantastic experience! The roasted lamb was very tender and carefully combined with tasteful ingredients. The roasted eggplant was a delicious equilibrium of flavors. The dark chocolate and tahini was out of this world. The waiter was kind and super friendly. He proposed us an excellent wine. Strongly recommended!

Good food, good price. A great Mediterranean inspired option in the middle of Mossel Bay. There’s parking in the street right behind the restaurant. Their fries are GREAT and the Hommus too!

This place is a hidden gem in Mossel Bay. Their coffee is good and the food is outstanding. The dishes are tasty and well decorated with a Middle Eastern flavor to it. The warm atmosphere and friendly staff complete the picture. They also sell delicious cookies, nougat, wine, and frozen food as a takeaway. We sat outside, but there is ample space inside, and there is a bed where your child can sleep, while you get a bite to eat.

The Point Hotel & SPA is a charming beachfront property offering traditional rooms with oceanfront balconies, a bar, and a European-style restaurant. These quaint holiday bungalows have been part of the coastal town for over 50 years and are the last of their kind in the country. The hotel's location allows guests to explore rock trails, restaurants, and pools while enjoying leisure activities.
I popped in for a late lunch with my partner and oh boy what a time we had. Great location, food , wine and service. I live the fact that the place is located near historical pla es especially the tree that is thought to be a 600 year old post office. It's worth a visit and the garden is perfect for a sunset walk

Exceptional Stay – Highly Recommended I absolutely loved my stay here. After coming from Cape Town and experiencing one of the worst accommodations (which I won’t name), arriving at this beautiful hotel completely turned my holiday around. The comfort, service, and atmosphere exceeded my expectations and made all the difference. Only the best — I’ll definitely be back!
Rudy C — Google review
I had an amazing time at The Point Hotel & Spa. The property is beautiful, the atmosphere relaxing, and the staff were warm and accommodating. I stayed in a suite with a jet tub and fireplace, and it was absolutely perfect — the room was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable, and the view from the windows was stunning. The suite was very well stocked, with thoughtful extras that made it feel special — real coffee cream, plenty of glassware and teacups, and a wide selection of teas. The fireplace was cleaned and restocked daily with firewood, and they even provided freshly made treats on site. The bottled water was some of the best I’ve ever tasted, and the room included robes, slippers, and thoughtful amenities like cotton balls, Q-tips, makeup wipes, a sewing kit, and shoe mitts — extras you rarely see elsewhere. The hotel also provides a variety of guides and recommendations for nearby dining, drinks, and activities. There’s a spa on site, equipped with a whirlpool and steam room (though the steam room didn’t appear to be working during my stay). The food and service were excellent, with plenty of menu options and quick, friendly service. I would have rated this a full five stars, but there was one small issue — I had added champagne and flowers to my reservation. When I checked in, I had to ask for the champagne, and while that was resolved, the flowers I paid for never arrived. Aside from that, everything else was outstanding. I highly recommend The Point Hotel & Spa for a romantic, relaxing, and luxurious getaway, and I look forward to returning for a longer visit next time. Side note for future guests: It’s a good idea to call ahead or confirm any add-ons (like flowers or champagne) to ensure everything is ready upon arrival. I’ll be contacting the hotel directly to have this rectified, as everything else truly exceeded expectations.

Excellent room service. My needs for two appliances; hair dryer and iron, were resolved within minutes. Staff service during lunch and dinner hours were also very prompt and cordial. For location, we can’t ask for anything more - just superb.
Mukesh D — Google review
This is a hotel I will never forget because of its truly mesmerizing location. The view from the room was breathtaking, and the spacious rooms made the stay exceptionally comfortable. However, the service at the hotel restaurant was not up to standard. There were long waits for food to be served, and the staff often seemed more engaged in casual conversations with other guests rather than attending promptly to diners who were seated and waiting for their meals. Despite the shortcomings in restaurant service, I would gladly return to this hotel for its stunning views and generous room sizes.

Amazing property with stunning views and wonderful people. I truly enjoyed my stay here, especially the excellent spa. Highly recommend staying here!

Best hotel location ever. The staff is very friendly and very cooperative. The food was amazing. The couple massage was very relaxing. The rooms are proper spacious and perfect size.

The view was very nice but the hotel is old and the rooms might be clean but needs modernization and some decoration . Not cozy at all unfortunately. I do have to say that the staff is nice, helpful and service minded. Hopefully the hotel will get some renovations soon. It can be a pearl in Mossselbai

Jakkalsvlei is a delightful and welcoming establishment that offers a wide range of pairing options, including special pairings for kids with juice. The in-house craft beers are top-notch, and the food is absolutely delicious. It's a lovely secluded spot where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy beautiful scenery, great wine, and a fantastic atmosphere. The staff are friendly and professional, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.
We went for wine tasting, and we were had such an amazing experience. The wine pairings were well presented and amazing to taste. The food after was out of this world. Compliments to the Chef 👨‍🍳 . We really had a nice time and the atmosphere is relaxed and the view is beautiful. Thank you, Jakkalsvlei. We really had a great time.

We had a lovely experience at Jakkalsvlei absolutely worth the scenic drive out to this farm. We reserved a 1pm seating and arrived early which meant we could enjoy a tasting at the shed. I understand the shed was opened in December which is a lovely treat, you get your tasting glass as a gift for any tasting. We did not opt for a tasting but rather a bottle of their piontage rose which was served on the lake with beautiful views. At the restaurant we did various pairings which was lovely. A stand out was their MCC we ordered a bottle for the table. The hostess was friendly and set up the table for us as our friends were celebrating their anniversary this was a special touch thank you! We enjoyed the food; recommend calamari starter and lamb shank for mains. We also ordered the pork belly and fillet chicken too which was lovely. We had a lovely afternoon! Tip: The bar downstairs only offers drinks per bottle not per glass. We love the tent downstairs, great atmosphere.

We popped into Jakkalsvlei on a rainy 1 November without a booking and were welcomed so warmly by the friendly staff and a cozy kaggelvuur! The restaurant was packed, but we were happy to sit at the wine tasting bar where Riaan looked after us. He was absolutely fantastic — funny, knowledgeable, and full of great stories about the wines, the Jakkalsvlei farm, and the Mossel Bay area. He really made our wine tasting memorable and gave us such a great Jakkalsvlei experience! The tasting options are excellent, the wines are superb, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. The drive to the farm is also beautiful. We’ll definitely be back soon! 🍷

Embark on a scenic journey through the Garden Route aboard the Diaz Express, a charming railway that travels from George to Mossel Bay. Offering breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and river estuaries, this family-friendly adventure includes visits to craft stores, art galleries, and culinary delights. With knowledgeable tour guides and opportunities for whale-watching during the season, it's an experience not to be missed.
The owners were very friendly and passionate about what they do. The speaker do need an upgrade but we had such a relaxing trip. The price was not bad. I would recommend going in the morning because it can become a bit hot as there is no air conditioning but the experience was amazing. The beautiful views we saw was breathtaking.

Highly recommend! A very unique experience in the heart of holiday-going. The railway track progresses along beautiful coastal scenery with some interesting facts given by the conductors. Such a special way to do sightseeing. Just a heads up for some occassional loud screeching from the tracks. Definitely give this a go.

A nostalgic and entertaining ride with Dupp and Nico on the Power Van in Mossel Bay. They create a great atmosphere and share interesting stories along the way. We took the morning trip with a one-hour stop at Seeplaas — a nice break, although it’s better to enjoy a walk on the beach than rely on the rather average restaurant service. A lovely journey back in time, offering a unique perspective on the coastline and the wonderful rhythm of the rails.

What a cool trip. Beautiful views of the onion and the Mosselbay area. I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much but I did. You get a look at the area from a different perspective that you won’t get any other way. I highly recommend that you try it. I have lived in Mosselbay for 6 years before trying it and I wish I did it earlier.

Excellent experience! A must when in the area. The scenery is incredible. We even saw whales and wild bush buck.
Bond B — Google review
I was dissapointed. Power Van Outeniqua was a great experience. Power Van Mossel Bay however was not. The advertising showed that we travel to a bridge crossing a river between Heroldsbay and Glentana. They no longer go there, but did not inform anyone or change the marketing photos. The view from the train is not great since there is only a small portion of the track that has an ocean view. Upon asking about the bridge, I was informed that the track is no longer in a good conditionvsince it has overgrown with weeds and grass. Without that view Ibthink that the trip is overpriced.

Mossel Bay, located along the Garden Route in South Africa, boasts a mild climate with over 300 days of sunshine annually. The town's historical significance is evident through attractions like the Post Office Tree, which dates back to 1501 and served as the country's first post office. This ancient milkwood tree remains a national monument and draws tourists keen on exploring its intriguing past.

It’s a great stop especially for children and tourists to teach them about the history of South Africa. The tree itself is magical and majestic! I really enjoy it every time that I come here😊 I always learn something new or see something different than I used to. The post office tree is absolutely beautiful and I love the story and history behind the shoe. If you're a geocacher or someone that loves history then this is the place for you. I think this shoe inspired the whole geocaching thing and it's so cool because I live in Mossel Bay. I wish they had the actual shoe tho. Highly recommend visiting

Couldn't spot dolphins and sharks which were only expectations and not a guarantee. The speed boats are safe, we'll maintained clean. We went at speed of 160 km/hr which was a super experience. Today was a great day! We saw 1 huge shark and 2 smaller ones. All Great Whites! They kept comming back for more tuna heads:) The boat left at 11.00 and the sea was not rugh at all. Also the water temp was ok. Nice boat too. The crew was very helpfull and could tell us a lot about shark behavior. We all could take 2 cage times. I felt fine and secure the whole time. On our way back we even saw 2 whales. A Bryde's whale came very close to the boat! I do recommend doing this bucket list adventure! And "White Shark Africa" in Mosselbay is the place to be. Glad we did it!

Today we saw a Shark. What a experience. Our amateur shark researchers and willing shark spotters from all over the world . Meet new people and sharing a day like today was absolutely special. Thank you.
Christopher R — Google review
I've been here 4 times before (Sep 2013, August 2014, Jan 2016, Jan 2018). I have seen Great whites with this company every time. I was super excited to be returning to SA this year and White Shark Africa was top of our activity list. Things have changed a fair bit. Each time prior we would have breakfast and watch a short video on sharks and the experience and then walk down to the boat. This time there was none of that and just walking down to the docks. The staff were very friendly. Sadly zero sightings and while we were told they hadn't seen sharks the previous outing it was made clear there had been no sharks in Mossel bay since June 18th when they saw two orcas attack and kill a great white and since then no one had seen any. I appreciate it is a business but had we know that we would not have paid to come (even the discounted rate of 1900 ZAR). It is a lot of money with such a poor change of seeing them with the orca incident. Again this is not their fault but they should be more upfront about chances. We were offered 20% refund or voucher for next time. We did see lots of seals at seal island and we also saw a whale mother and calf and a dolphin. Weather was lovely and sea was calm. I was so disappointed as previous visits have been phenomenal.
Shareen A — Google review
On our first trip, we went out to sea and waited at least 3 hours and didn't see any sharks. The crew made a big effort by chumming the water and trying to lure a shark. They also tried to entertain us by educating us on sharks and their importance. We ultimately didn't see anything that day. I opted to go again (if you don't see sharks, you get to go again for free or get a 20% refund). On our second attempt, a few days later, the crew had chummed the water, and not even 10 minutes later, we saw a shark. The shark is ultimately a wild animal, and there is no guarantee of seeing it. If you want to see the sharks, I would recommend scheduling your dive and trying to keep a day after your scheduled dive free just in case your first attempt isn't successful.

The Oyster Bar in Mossel Bay is a popular seafood restaurant known for its fresh and flavorful local oysters. With a concise yet delightful menu, the highlight of this establishment is undoubtedly their exceptionally fresh and flavorful oysters. While also offering well-prepared sushi, the variety may be somewhat limited compared to other seafood restaurants in the area.

Beautiful setting with a view over the bay. The layout of the restaurant is a little odd and the service extremely slow. The food menu is very limited, but the food was good. It also seemed as if one meal had gone missing and when it finally arrived, it looked quite different to the calamari that had arrived earlier.

What a disappointment pertaining to the food. I had the “mussel pot” with missing pot! The sauce was artificially yellow, mussels overdone. Chewy. Served with stale old bread- probably meant for the ducks. My husband had Burger - the pattie tasted like soya and was overdone. We waited a long time for the food to arrive, even though it was past lunch time. What a pity with such a beautiful location & view.
Amanda M — Google review
I have a personal preference and love for this tiny restaurant situated in the Mosselbay Harbor. Over the many years that we have been visiting it had rejuvenated itself many times by improving the ambience and menu. From just having oysters, sushi and bubbly they now offer a few fish dishes, wine, beer on tap and can you believe it - gin on tap, which was delicious by the way. I had tempura prawns and my partner sushi which we loved. Our waiter was friendly and introduced us to a few alternatives on the drinks menu. But what make me come back time and time again is the ambience and amazing view. Sitting there on the open narrow deck, on red chairs and surrounded by white tables and umbrellas overlooking the sparkling blue bay is the best ever. It reminds one of sitting in a taverna on a Greek island overlooking the sea - but better! I can really recommend that you visit and being there around sunset, is even more spectacular.

The sensation of stepping onto the sand, surrounded by palm trees, a beach hut, and a fire pit truly enhanced the vacation-like atmosphere. The cuisine offered here was not only extraordinarily delectable but also beautifully presented with genuine passion and care. Additionally, their vegetarian platter is outstanding.
We absolutely love this restaurant. It has a very nice vibe and atmosphere. Built on an old train station. The waiters are really extremely efficient and friendly. Thanks to Bradley. You are a star. Each and every time. The same can be said about Max. The food is really freshly made. We had the musselsoup. Highly recommended. The hake and chips were delicious and really a huge portion. They regularly get a band to play and, in wintertime, make a huge bonfire. Dog friendly.

Family-friendly restaurant were our family enjoyed dinner. There are smoking and non-smoking sections, with live entertainment in the smoking section. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The floor area is covered with beach sand to give that 'on the beach feel'. The food did not take long to be served after placing the order. We would definitely go back again.

Service at this establishment was fantastic with a lovely touch. Our waitress made a special effort to accommodate our daughter. It was a quiet week / schoolday, so she was the only little one there. The waitress brought her a flower shaped balloon and put an umbrella in her creme soda to make it an extra special 'cocktail'. Food was top class. Husband had a surf and turf, couldn't finish it, the portion was very generous. I had one of the bar platters. I shared it with my daughter. Nice warm fire on a cold rainy day, and nice music to add the vibe! Thank you.

This is a very unfussy, casual place. If you go in expecting that it’s great. We really enjoyed our evening - good wine options for a casual place, live music and a play area for the kids.

Loved every moment here. Waiters were very helpful and ensured that everyone at the table were happy. The fireplace gives ambiance and was welcome in the colder winter weather. Portions were nice and the food was scrumptious. Will definitely be visiting again.

Restaurant
The Marbled Wagyu Mossel Bay is a Small Vessel Port that can accommodate ships with a maximum draught of 7m. The harbor features Quay 4, which was constructed in l972 and has been deepened to accommodate Service Vessels for the Oil Rig. In addition to yachts at the Walk-on Jetty, various fishing vessels and other ships utilize the harbor. Around 50 oil tankers also visit Mossel Bay annually.
Wonderful place to enjoy the sunset and a great dinner. Food is excellent and Service is superb. Will definitely come back!

Good service. Beautiful views. Burger was just a very nice and juicy burger. Wagyu should not be eaten in patty form. I’ve had Wagyu steak so I think it spoiled the burger experience for me. If you have not ever had Wagyu then yes by all means have it otherwise you will be disappointed. Prices are as expected, very expensive
Shawn T — Google review
The food is really delicious. I wanted to lick my plate clean afterwards. Prices here, are higher than most places. It was mother's day but I was the only one in the restaurant. Service was excellent.
Sean L — Google review
We went as a family of 4 with teenage kids. We ordered the burgers and pizza. The burgers was excellent and the pizza was delicious served on a really thin crusted base which was to our liking. It was very still and we were the only table in high season. I guess this attributes to the pricing point at which this restaurant is aiming to serve.
Deon K — Google review
Jessi and Claudine were the best. One of the best burgers of my life.

Charlie provides a perfect service. He has an eye for the little things that make the difference between a good and a really special restaurant experience. We had dinner here and were really happy with our choice. The Wagyu prima fillet of course is not cheap and you should decide for you if it‘s worth it. We also had the signature burger and the pizza and those are really delicious too (and have a very fair price!).
Berger B — Google review
Steak and burger were made perfectly! We got there after sunset so it was a little dark to eat and see our food. Would appreciate a bit more lighting. We had a flashlight on us so that helped. The staff who works there was really friendly and told us the waygu is from local cow. Overall, great experiences.
Alice Y — Google review
What a restaurant! We had one of the best steaks of our lives. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu as well as the South African wines. The rose and white wine made by her son were simply incredible, right up there with the big wine estates we visited in Stellenbosch! Great evening, worth every Rand! Would 100% go back!

Bed & breakfast
African Oceans Manor on the Beach is an upscale beachfront hotel that offers elegant rooms with comprehensive furnishings and stunning ocean views. Guests can enjoy a variety of accommodation options, including self-catering or bed and breakfast. The hotel provides complimentary breakfast and snacks, along with a well-stocked honesty bar for convenience. This was a real eye opener. The accommodation was just fantastic. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Fantastic view of the ocean.

Amazing sunrise view by the ocean. Breakfast felt so warm and cozy as if my grandmother made the meal. Overall stay was very comforting and relaxing! The room had all the amenities one could think about. Secure parking and high security (but loads of keys for guests to keep track of). One unusual thing we noticed during our stay: because we were only there for one night (it was a pit stop from our long drive), it seemed that the receptionist was a bit cautious—while we were out for dinner, she appears to have entered the room and placed additional water bottles by the bed, even though water was already provided. It looked like she was trying to check why we had so much luggage for one night. Also, we weren’t offered any assistance with our luggage, which was a bit challenging given the number of stairs and the weight of our bags.
Rachel D — Google review
Another great choice for a beach front hotel. It was so great to be able to be right on the ocean and walk on the beach. The hotel is tucked away in a neighborhood which makes it very quiet and relaxing. The breakfast that was included was very good and the staff was very welcoming. I accidently left my raincoat in the room and they sent it onto to us in Knysna. Thank you for your wonderful guest services.

This is Our Tranquil Oceanfront Escape We arrived at African Oceans Manor late in the evening and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to beautiful, comfortable rooms due to the off-season. One of our rooms even had an outdoor jacuzzi, which would have been perfect if it weren't for the chilly winter weather! The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast spread was delicious, and the highlight was definitely the beach right on our doorstep. Watching the sunrise over Mossel Bay was a truly magical and refreshing experience. We only wish we had more time to relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere of this lovely property.

An amazing stay, which could not have been any better. Staying in the Presidential Suite. Staff was suuuuper polite and friendly.
Jörg L — Google review
We were disappointed overall with our stay at African Ocean Manor on the Beach. We were looking forward to our stay with great expectations, but were disappointed in the end. At check in, we were handed a plastic binder with poorly copied sheets from which we were to read the info about the hotel on our own. Regarding our luggage, we were not offered any further help. The room itself was nicely decorated. There are signs hanging everywhere and the binder is full of instructions on what to watch out for and what not to do. The cleanliness in the room was good. The lobby is unfortunately not inviting, there are still crumbs and cutlery from breakfast on the tables in the afternoon. The toilet in the lobby is dirty. The hot tub for general use on the terrace did not work at all on the first day, on the second day it was approximately 50 degrees, so it was impossible to use the hot tub due to the hot water. We asked for a reservation at a restaurant and were promised it would be made. The first time we asked, we were told that no one had been reached yet. When we asked a second time on our own initiative after a few hours, we were told that the restaurant was unfortunately closed. Now we were without a reservation for dinner that day. The fact that the restaurant was closed that day was of course not the hotel's fault, but we could have been informed about it in time so that we could look for another restaurant. If we hadn't asked again, we would have gone there thinking we had a reservation, since the lady at the front desk didn't think it was necessary to inform us, even though we were a few meters away at the pool the whole time. At breakfast we had ordered a croissant, whereupon we were told 10 minutes later that the croissant had to be baked first and they didn't know how long that would take. We waited 45 minutes. All in all, the weaknesses are not a major problem and can be tolerated, but this hotel, even in comparison with other hotels in South Africa, does not correspond to a 5-star level - neither visually, nor in terms of service. During our trip we stayed in 3 and 4 star hotels, which were better. On a positive note, the breakfast is of very good quality and can be ordered a la carte. When we came to the hotel after an excursion at 11 o'clock and thus after the breakfast time, the kitchen was already closed, but it was opened again just for us and our desired breakfast was prepared. The location of the hotel is fantastic directly on the beach with a beautiful wooden terrace with Jacuzzi with a beautiful view of the ocean.
Florian P — Google review
Dis recommendation. Expectations were not high. From the beginning we understood that we would not get a luxury hotel, but the disappointment was great. 1. At night it rained and it dripped from the ceiling into the room. We could not get an answer because the reception was closed. 2. When we returned from the trip, we discovered that they forgot to clean one of our rooms. 3. The most minimal breakfast there is. 4. Medium level of cleanliness and below.

For day 5, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like House of Maria. Not quite as popular as Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Title: Terrible Service and No Attention to Customers We waited outside for over 20 minutes and didn’t even receive a menu. The staff walked past us, collecting chairs instead of serving customers. When we went inside to place an order, we were told someone would come to our table. After waiting another 10 minutes without anyone paying attention to us, we finally decided to leave. Absolutely disappointing experience.

I recently placed an order online for some bookmarks and license disks from House of Maria. The communication and service received from them was excellent! And the products are exceptionally packaged. Even though there was a slight mistake with one of the bookmarks sent, it was resolved immediately and the correct one is being sent to me. After the mistake was made I received a voice note from one of the staff members apologizing for the mistake that was made. I have never had a company unexpectedly reach out so that was very surprising and refreshing. I definitely recommend House of Maria and will be ordering again!!

Mossel Bay Golf Club, located in Mossel Bay, is part of the Mossel Bay Golf Estate and Nature Reserve. The course offers beautiful views of the sea from every tee and is well-maintained with good conditions on fairways and tee boxes. It's known for being challenging, especially when the wind picks up, and its tricky greens can pose a challenge for first-timers. The clubhouse is described as stunning with friendly staff, making it a lovely experience overall.
Beautiful course in great condition! We enjoyed it very much. We walked it, and we have been playing it several times already. Greens are very fast! But still manageable. A course for everyone to enjoy!

Wow wow what an amazing visit in time! I grew up as a railway child and the memories were made all fresh and new when we went on a trip from Hartenbos to Groot-Brak. Excellently presented. Best train drivers. The carriages were amazingly well kept and beautiful. Will certainly join on another trip. Well done Atlantic Rail The best ever!
Embrenzia M — Google review
This trip was a delightful throwback to times gone by. The sounds of the clickety-clack on the tracks, and the tooooooot of the heater, the beautifully renovated and revived dining car and snackbar carriage, the scenery between Hartenbos and Riversdale so picturesque with scene after scene of Cape summer farmland wooing us out from our authentic compartment seats into the long inviting corridors. Every dwelling we passed delighted with smiling and waving representatives, ready and waiting to greet "Jenny" as she tooted past. What a memorable excursion.

The train ride from Hartenbos to Grootbrak was definitely a highlight. The scenery was breathtaking, and the journey was surprisingly smooth and comfortable. The train staff were friendly and helpful, and the on-board amenities were a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend this train journey to anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic way to travel

I loved it 💞 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃

What an amazing excursion. Who would have thought that a steam train could bring so much pleasure to the passengers and passers by. The number of people, from small kids to pensioners, waving as we went by was so cool. The train is part of a restoration project and the funds raised go towards restoring the train to its former glory. That was one of the best afternoons in many a year with family. It's a blast and well worth the costs. After all, what else can you do for 3 odd hours for R300 bucks.

Amazing experience for all the family... We took the 8.30am train from Hartenbos to Grootbrakrivier, including 45mins free time and the train ride back - we were finished by 10.45am. Getting to ride in a restored steam train was incredible. There is a bar and kiosk on the train. The staff are all really friendly. Booking online was super easy.

Monetised per minute of fun. You pay per hour for access to pool around the corner, you pay per ride your kids do. I feel like it would've been worth driving through to suncity for cheaper better rides. Needs some maintenance, pool sides green with algae. Ha, wife was just told to poney up R35 for access to water park cause we arrived late yesterday evening and did not receive the magical yellow card when booking in. We'll just use up the kid's last rides and then move on

History Museums
Hartenbos Museum is a must-visit attraction in Hartenbos, known for its extensive collection of fascinating artifacts from the mid-1800s. The museum offers a glimpse into the history of The Voortrekkers and Hartenbos through visual displays and historical accounts. Visitors praise the knowledgeable and respectful staff who manage the museum, ensuring a pleasant and informative experience.
This museum should be in a museum. You don't get many spaces like this anymore. Everything is so 70's retro. The best bit is the mannequins - hilarious! The history itself is interesting because it looks at events often neglected by the current regime. Very interesting for the historically inclined.

Great Museum with vast collection and knowledge about The Voortrekkers and Hartenbos. A lot of text and historical on-hand accounts of the history with very good visual displays of everyday life of The Voortrekkers. Please be advised to bring cash in order to buy tickets. Certainly worth the time and effort to visit, lots of rare and unique artifacts. Also in big part because of the person that takes care of and manages the daily running of the museum: my bad for not being able to recall her name but once she was engaged she was a treasure to experience. She was respectful and offered her assistance without being overly intrusive in our space while we were there. Knowledgeable and professional / passionate about the history contained there. Lots of kudos to her for getting it perfect, and her employer will do well to retain and develop her further.

With zero experience driving quad bikes the guide gave us thorough instruction in the safe operation of these vehicles. Taking the 8km winding sandy route through the natural bush to the Hartenbos river is a quite adventurous experience. You will see beautiful scenes of green bustling with life reinforced by the flowing river and small dams. The guide is knowledgable about the area and provides some very interesting facts about the community during the trip. Overall the experience is very enjoyable and a must try when in the area.

Love it! Signage clearly visible from street, the decor calls you in, the smell lures you in further, the service gets you seated and the menu has endless potential. Seriously can even see a picky eater finding something to love. Liza suggested we try the iced coffee (I hate cold coffe btw) and eveb gave a small sample to try. I was blown away by how good that tasted. It washed down the generously stuffed gorgenzola, fig, honey and cashew bagel. 👍👍👍👍👍

Stunning restaurant just outside of Hartenbos. The kids loved the flapjacks and they have a variety of breakfast options for the adults. The decor is beautiful and creates a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. The service was friendly and fast, which helps if you have hungry little ones at the table. They have a fenced in playground with outside seating so parents with younger children can enjoy their meals while the kids play. We would definately recommend Salt&Copper to anyone visiting Hartenbos or Mossel Bay.

Lovely restaurant with beautiful decor and furnishings. Had the best Hake and Chips of my life! My boyfriend had the Stack a Burger which also tasted incredible. Everyone at the table was silent when the food came out, in a trance of the presentation and flavours! Absolutely delicious, staff were also very friendly and welcoming. There's also the market and nursery on the same premises along with many activities and play areas for kiddies making it perfect for a full day with the whole family. Will certainly recommend to all who would simply drive past, it's not to be underestimated!

What a lovely experience to have breakfast there. I had flapjacks with bacon, two eggs, syrup and cheese. Plates were warmed up and food stayed warm on this chilly morning. Lovely fire going to give it a good atmosphere

Such a fantastic gem, place for kids to play as well as a massive bonus for me. The food was divine. Beautiful plating and flavor pairings. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I will be coming back.

Lovely, but very large venue, super food and very good service. I can definitely recommend the Halloumi with chopped strawberries and a lime & mint dressing 😋 I think over a week end, it would have a different feel.

Great food, good wines and drinks for a meal, and large enough portions. This is not just a regular family restaurant so the expectation for the food is much higher. You can get all the regulars. The presentation is playful and interesting, the food for a large table (20) was relatively well prepared and timed well. Would love to go back and see it from a fine dining expectation.

We had the nicest waiter I think I have ever had. He was constantly smiling and brightened up my day. The food was absolutely amazing. The food was served fast but clearly with perfection in mind. The drinks were also made very quickly. The Salt and Copper building looks like an art piece and it feels well serviced and looked after. Clearly management is good here. I will definitely eat here again as this was a very amazing breakfast.

Definitely one of my favorite places. They are very busy so make sure to book. Even with them being so busy rhe experience was great. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. They offer tastings as well in the lounge (gin, whiskey or wine) only from 09:00 to 17:00. There is also great play area for kids.

Stars Restaurant is a popular dining spot in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, offering a diverse menu with options like pizza and Israeli cuisine. The restaurant provides indoor and outdoor dining spaces, allowing guests to enjoy stunning views of the bay and the Outeniqua Mountain range. It's an ideal choice for groups, families, and sports enthusiasts looking for delicious food and a scenic atmosphere along the Garden Route.
Nice spot with a great view. It is however a pity that they changed the menu completely, with limited options and you need to self service,no more waiters. It takes away the vibe of the place.

Lovely ribs, my partner in crime had the burger which was most enjoyable. Wandered of to the wine section and was assisted by a very welcoming young gentleman and ended up purchasing 6 bottles of wine! Definitely worth a visit and will be back soon!

I really enjoyed the food. The flavour of the food was absolutely amazing and you can't stop eating. Service was excellent.

I've always enjoyed eating here until today, hoping it was just our selection. Coffee was superb, service great, view breathtaking but our meals were disappointing. I ordered the Butternut &halloumi salad and the brinjal bake. Salad ingredients were wonderful but the warm wet iceberg lettuce on which it lay on really let this dish down. The brinjal bake was odd, mostly mozzarella cheese but there were slices of uncooked tomato and the brinjal was coated but soggy so why coat it? Idk. Didnt have more than 2 bites. The vegan pizza cost total R180 (gluten free base R25 but avo, green pepper and mushrooms was an additional R65) just not worth the money. I would return but will stick with safer bets like breakfast or burger.

A family Restaurant with a menu that offers mouthwatering meals at affordable prices. And if you book beforehand you can have a table with sea view. Winelist at cellar prices. The pizza was the best I had in months. More than enough topping with plenty asparagus and olives. Ended the meal with a waffle and ice cream. A memorable evening

A fairly big space, tastefully divided into sections to cater for individuals or groups. Interiors feature a collection of wall and decor finishes, creating an interesting atmosphere. Magnificent views, delicious food in generous portions. Also a deli section and freshly baked bread. 5 stars to the staff.

Absolutely love stars, not just the food but also the amazing wine selection, and at such great prices.. a definite must visit with great staff and manager. Tried a Canadian Pizza and it was awesome..The wine we tried varied but we eventually settled on a 2014 Shiraz from Stellenview....

Very friendly staff and lovely vegan options at affordable prices!! We shared the crumbed mushrooms as a starter and then I had the falafel platter and hubby the crazy burger. Super delicious and generous portion size!! We loved the background music and atmosphere while enjoying the beautiful view!! Highly recommend Stars Restaurant!!
