Emancipation Park in Kingston is a versatile city park that offers a variety of attractions and activities. It features a jogging track, stage for events, and indigenous plant life. Despite its location in the bustling part of the city, the park provides an open and serene environment for personal relaxation or enjoying the scenery. The iconic fountain statue depicting two slaves symbolizes the strength and resilience of the Jamaican people.
This is a very nice park. It was decorated with holiday decorations and fully staffed. The walk trail needs correction but overall this would be a great place to walk/jog/run. They even have a workout section that is open early mornings. Luckily I stayed in the area so I was able to pass through a few times. I also saw peaceful places you could sit and enjoy the day. I would definitely come back to this park and I suggest others come visit as well.

I visited Emancipation Park recently and honestly, it’s one of the nicest spots in Kingston. The place is so peaceful and beautifully maintained—perfect for walking, jogging, or just relaxing on the lawns. I really enjoyed the tropical gardens, the fountains, and how clean and inviting everything felt. The Redemption Song statue at the entrance is absolutely striking. Standing there, it really makes you pause and reflect on Jamaica’s history and resilience. I also loved noticing the cultural designs worked into the benches and fences—small details that make the park unique. What stood out most was the atmosphere. There were families, joggers, and tourists all enjoying the space, but it still felt calm and welcoming. It’s a place where you can clear your head, enjoy nature, and also feel connected to Jamaican culture. If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to add more shaded seating areas and maybe a few more water fountains—it gets really hot during the day! But overall, my experience was excellent. I’d definitely recommend Emancipation Park to anyone visiting Kingston. Whether you want to exercise, relax, or just take in some culture, this park has it all.
Nicholas D — Google review
Well kept lawn/garden, very clean with lots of mature trees to keep you cool if you decide to relax under one of the many trees. It would be better if there were multiple entries as for those with mobility limitation it's challenging to walk around the park after parking to gain entry. This needs to be changed to accommodate everyone.
Empressfaithful — Google review
Truly incredible to see in person! Disappointed in who they chose to place as the first two statues, lessening the impact of the memorial. The park itself is gorgeous! Aesthetically pleasing, with plenty of room to sit, run, play, and eat. The staff does a great job of keeping everything beautiful and clean. Please support the vendors outside of the park; and the restaurant across the street, Sweetwood Jerk, is amazing!
Shani S — Google review
I recently stopped at Emancipation Park on Labour Day and absolutely loved this small yet relaxing space! A sound-check crew was busy preparing for a gospel concert later that evening, which added to the park’s lively atmosphere. The park is beautifully maintained, with a lovely balance of trees, flowers, and shrubs, enhancing its natural charm. One main point of interest that caught my attention was the breezeway, where I admired the seven National Heroes: Nanny of the Maroons, Paul Bogle, George William Gordon, Samuel Sharpe, Marcus Garvey, Alexander Bustamante, and Norman Manley. Each head monument has an engraved introduction that provides insight into their significant contributions. At the end of the breezeway stands the iconic themed “Tribute to Freedom,” featuring a pair of impressive 11-foot bronze statues titled “Redemption Song.” They depict a Black man and woman gazing towards the sky, located at the south-eastern entrance of the park. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would wholeheartedly encourage anyone, whether visiting or local, to stop by this iconic park. It’s a wonderful opportunity to appreciate and learn about a piece of Jamaica’s rich history!

Ice cream shop
Devon House I Scream is a renowned ice cream parlor located within the historic Devon House mansion in Kingston. It offers a wide array of rich and creamy flavors, including traditional options like rum and raisin, as well as exotic choices such as mango and soursop. Visitors can indulge in sweet treats while exploring the mansion's grounds or after outdoor activities.
During my recent holiday in Kingston, I received five enthusiastic recommendations to try Scream’s ice cream, and I couldn’t resist! Located in the beautifully maintained Devon House park, this ice cream shop is a must-visit. It’s not just a local favorite; National Geographic even named it the fourth best place in the world to eat ice cream! The park itself is lovely to explore, making your ice cream experience even more enjoyable. The variety of flavors at Scream’s is impressive, including both classic options and unique Jamaican-inspired treats. My go-to flavor had to be Grapenut, which features a creamy texture and a delightful hint of nuttiness without being overly sweet. If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by and treat yourself to this delicious ice cream—it’s an experience you won’t forget!

It always a pleasure visiting Devon house when I'm in Jamaica. The scoops never disappoint ‼️Just huge and worth the wait....The bakery section however lacked efficiency in their customer service during this visit. The AC was not working and customers were left in sweltering conditions. When I asked if the door could be opened to reduce the heat, my question received blank stares from the workers. I was then asked to go to another section by one of the servers who mentioned that he did not serve from the cake section, which was in fact a lie. If not for the excellent level of service from the ice cream section, I would've rated them lower.

I love Devon House. I've been going since I was a kind every trip to Jamaica. My aunt worked there when I was young. I love the historical background of the place. And the ice cream is really good. You can tell its natural. Im not big on any of the major picks for the locals. But it seems everyone loves the Rum Raisin and Grapenut.
Annesia J — Google review
The ice cream is delicious, the scoop sizes are also great. One scoop is more than enough. I was a bit disappointed they didn’t have Praline cream flavor. Some of the flavors are just okay, I had rum and raisin, and bubblegum flavor.

Overrated, don't see and know what the hype is all about. Patties tasted horrible and does not have enough meat.

Brand Jamaica is definitely evident in a scoop of Devon house Rum and Raisin ice cream. I have tje fortunate experience of the Scoops truck by Devon house to drive through my neighborhood on a consistent basis so I literally can wait to hear the ice cream van passing by to get my ice cream scoop!

One of my favorite childhood memories that I still LOVE to enjoy now as an adult. Its a must try if ever in the area!!! Its a but confusing to navigate the entrance, the ordering inside, and pick up of your order. But it's well worth the confusion...lol

I saved this place for last on my list. I was told they had the best ice cream. When I arrived there after their posted opening hours I was greeted with a sign that they'd be closed until 12. They were having some sort of meeting. So, I was pretty disappointed because I couldn't wait around for 2 hours, had a flight at 1:30. Made me wonder why they couldn't just have the meeting somewhere else or... I don't know, BEFORE they opened or AFTER they closed. smh

Independence Park is a significant site in Jamaica, commemorating the country's independence from Britain in 1962. It features the National Stadium, the National Arena, and other facilities. The entrance is marked by a statue of Bob Marley. The park hosts various sporting events like high school and prep champs as well as All Comers meets, offering free entertainment to visitors. While weekends can be crowded with swim clubs, weekdays offer a less busy experience for those looking to enjoy the pool and facilities.
The pride and heritage of Jamaica on display. A showcase of Jamaica's past, present and future. Truly a grand gala.

The National Stadium is one that elicits great national pride in any proud, well thinking Jamaican. Renovated with out national colour's of black, green and gold, I know that after a total refurbishing of this national monument will only bring louder screams of national pride during any event held here. To see it is to feel it and to know it !

I come here specifically for the pool. For the most part it is clean. There is also a snack area and a restroom/ shower room for changing. The staff are quite friendly. And the vibe there is generally good. The weekends are especially packed though as many of the swim clubs come there at that time. For a less crowded experience I’d advise going during the week in the mornings.

National Heroes Park in Kingston, Jamaica is a significant site honoring the country's national heroes and serving as a burial ground for many prominent figures, including prime ministers. The park, situated on what was once a popular horse-racing center, features war memorials and funerary monuments. With an oval shape spanning 30 hectares, it was previously a racecourse and venue for historical events.
It was a very beautiful and comely experience walking around the park and reading information about those who had statues to commemorate them
L B — Google review
I hadn't realised that it had so many monuments present, was what I said to myself. I've passed Heroes Circle so many times, and I've never really given it a really good look until recently, when I just randomly stopped to walk through the park. As stated previously, there were several large monuments present. Each monument was built in memory of an important figure in Jamaica's history, namely our national heroes. A few other figures were represented as well, like Hugh Shearer and Micheal Manley. I think some heroes and other figures were said to be buried there as well. The stylish looking plaques each giving you a history of each person featured. I was truly impressed with what I had seen. It was also obvious to me that area, namely the parts with the monuments and plaques, were regularly landscaped. The grass was well cut down, and the environment was clean overall. There was one particular plaque that gave you the history of the park itself and how it came to be. National Heroes Park is definitely impressive. I, for one, was indeed impressed by it.

I was expecting more than what I saw... for a place of such significance it should have been well maintained with neatly cut green grass areas and well groomed flowers and esthetic appeal. But it was like a waste land that doesn't have much value place on it.
Richardo G — Google review
For the place where some of Jamaica's most treasured are laid to rest. I was expecting more from National Heroes Park. The park is dry and hot, I was wondering if a well could be dug and used to make a park green and attractive. Some of the plaques are worn need to replaced. Overall the park needs to be refurbished to make it the attraction it deserves to be.

Visiting Heroes Park was a delightful surprise! Located just down the street from Emancipation Park, I couldn’t resist stopping by to explore both. I’m so glad I did! The beautifully manicured lawns and well-maintained grounds immediately caught my eye. I was genuinely touched by the stunning monuments honoring our past leaders who fought for change along with a tall white monument with the cross dedicated to the fallen Soldiers in World War I and II. It’s a heartfelt tribute that truly resonates. While there, I took the time to visit the remains of several notable figures interred at the park, including: • Toots Hibbert • Dennis Brown • Sir Alexander Bustamante • Marcus Garvey • Michael Manley • Norman Manley • George William Gordon • Edna Manley • Donald Sangster • Hugh Shearer • Ranny Williams • Paul Bogle • Samuel Sharpe • Lady Bustamante • Herb McKenley • Louise Bennett-Coverley • Mallica “Kapo” Reynolds • Howard and Ivy Cooke • Edward Seaga • Clement ‘Sir Coxsone’ Dodd As I exited the park, I felt a deep sense of pride and honour to have visited for the first time. I even gave a hand salute to express my appreciation! Heroes Park is a must-visit for anyone looking to learn about Jamaican history while enjoying the lovely botanical landscape.
Izod M — Google review
I love the environment. I am able to not just relax in a peaceful environment but I am afforded the ability to learn more about my heritage and about the Heroes who fought successfully so that I can live the life I now enjoy. I am free to make my own choice and not to under bondage. The Park is a powerful reminder of where we came from, the resilience and wit of our forefathers.

The best patties in Kingston Jamaica. My favourites are the beef, chicken and curry goat. Pricier than your average patty but they are filled to the brim with fillings of your choice and the pastry is perfectly flakey. The desserts are also worth trying also! I’ll be back as always

Service: Devon House Patties is usually packed around lunch, but the service moves quickly so you won’t be waiting long. Taste: The patties are unmatched—the crust is perfectly flaky and flavorful. I tried the curry goat patty this time, and it was absolutely worth it. Each bite reminded me why these are a staple. Ambiance: It has that busy, lively Kingston vibe, full of locals and visitors alike grabbing their favorite flavors. Overall Review: A true must-try when in Kingston. Whether it’s a childhood favorite or a new flavor like curry goat, these patties never disappoint. If you can, take some home—they’re worth the suitcase space!

First time in Kingston, was told that Devon House was a must visit, I agree. The Devon House Bakery patties are a beast, best and biggest I’ve ever had. I tried the Lobster, it was delicious and the BNQ Pork was good also. Then went over to the Ice Cream shop and had Strawberry Swirl, if I’m ever in Kingston I would have to come back here with a doubt.

Love their curry chicken patties. Just the right amount of heat from the curry. Only issue was the wait which was so long and then finding seating outside in a busy Friday night. But the patty itself is delicious and filled with a lot of meat, so 1 patty was enough and definitely hit the spot! Also had a plantain tart which was good but wouldn’t say wow. They had a lot of dessert options though, so their variety was great. Someone else in our group got the bread pudding and it was amaaazing!!

Very delicious. Jerk was on point, smelt good and had deep flavour. The soup felt so warming and was very tasty. The sauces were good too!

Easily the best jerk chicken w/rice and peas that I've had from here to Montego Bay. It was so flavorful, and cooked so well that I wasn't even mad it wasn't spicy. The pepper sauce they gave me to accompany it was the perfect heat needed to satisfy me. The rice and peas were seasoned to perfection. The festival was crispy on the outside and soft like a fluffy pillow on the inside. The chicken soup was the perfect consistency, full, and chunky. Omg. I wanna go back right now lol. The service was kind, patient, and remarkable.

In Kingston for work and this place is just down the road from the hotel (Courtyard Marriott). Jerk pork and chicken are excellent, as is the hot sauce. Sides are often limited but the potato salad and rice and peas are tasty. Red Stripe is cold and goes well with anything. The staff is friendly and fun and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, they often run out of meat and sides (thus 4 stars vs 5), so come early or prepare to be disappointed. Overall, a very good spot for authentic jerk.

Couple of friends just ate here. Food was so good I had to review this place right away. I tried jerk pork and sausage and friends tried jerk chicken and ribs. We recommend everything! They have three sizes: 1/4, 1/2 and 1 pound. The 1/4 lb jerk pork wasn’t a big portion, recommend getting half pound. Service was great, Denise a.k.a Lori at the cashier was awesome! Fast food restaurant
KFC Downtown, a popular fast food chain renowned for its signature fried chicken served in buckets, offers customers a variety of combo meals and side dishes. Although some patrons have mentioned experiencing shorter wait times and satisfactory service, others have expressed concerns about receiving fewer fries with their meals. Additionally, there have been reports of inconsistencies in the quantity of chicken wings provided when ordering larger quantities. Despite these issues, the overall quality of the food at KFC Downtown has received positive feedback.
This location tastes better than any other KFC location, I've been! Certainly better than Liguanea. The Bbq zinger here is consistently good, yummy. Liguanea bbq zinger taste like vinegar, a weh dat ago! Look here, unu keep the recipe consistent fi mi deh downtown, a yah so it deh! Can get crowded sometimes and most times they don't have any bbq zinger because it is sold out. I'll just turn back and try another day.
C W — Google review
The first kfc I’ve been to & got food that i refuse to eat. The zinger look as if they were from the day before, there is no way the zinger was freshly made & the vegetables look so old & distasteful.
Shakena M — Google review
They are so slow. Only reason to keep going there is KFC food itself. They have the facility for dine-in upstairs but they always have it blocked off since Covid and dine-in downstairs is chaotic with little space. The card machine is always down. Most times they just give any piece of chicken they feel like even when you're receipt says otherwise.
Charlie F — Google review
They are very slow, even If it's empty you take long to get your food. More workers are needed, maybe the supervisors and managers should try to help more outfront.

Restaurant
The Annex East Japanese restaurant is a great place to enjoy sushi and other Japanese delicacies. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is excellent. There are also options to dine outside if you'd like.
These shrimp tempura rolls and fried chicken ramen from East Japanese were absolutely delightful. I started with the shrimp tempura rolls, which were absolutely delightful. The shrimp was perfectly crispy, paired with soft, fluffy rice that was seasoned to perfection. The sauces drizzled on the plate added just the right balance of sweetness and savoriness, enhancing the flavors without overpowering the dish. Not only was it delicious, but the presentation was also stunning, making it enjoyable to look at as it was to eat. Next, I tried the fried chicken ramen, which was equally impressive. The broth was rich and comforting, filled with a depth of flavor that complemented the tender, perfectly cooked noodles. The fried chicken was golden and crispy on the outside while juicy and tender on the inside, adding a satisfying texture to the dish. The fresh green onions on top provided a refreshing finish that tied everything together beautifully. Both dishes were incredibly satisfying, offering exceptional flavor, generous portions, and beautiful presentations. If you’re in Jamaica and looking for great Japanese cuisine, East Japanese is definitely worth a visit. My friend and I dined at East Japanese, where we each ordered two dishes, bringing our total to $10,650 JMD.

Went here on a Wednesday evening. It was 5 of us. Even though the restaurant was busy, we were seated right away. The menu is extensive. Everything we ordered was GREAT. However you have to be patient as the food can take some time.

Arrived close to closing time for a Birthday dinner. The staff were amazing, they accommodated us, the food was amazing. The fried chicken is Superb. Sushi was made in front of us, all fresh ingredients. Ambience was amazing. Lighting perfect. 10/10

Awesome food. Great sushi and bold flavours. Presentation is on point. Service is quick and staff is very pleasant. We arrived as their kitchen was about to close but they accommodated us with smiles nonetheless. Not a very large interior dining room. I’ve never been there during a busy period so I’m not sure how they would handle a crowd.
Hubarr G — Google review
This was my first time dining here, and unfortunately, it was a very underwhelming experience. Our server, Lexi, was extremely disrespectful throughout the evening and behaved as though my friend and I were inconveniencing her just by being there. We remained polite at all times, but her attitude was very unwelcoming. She repeatedly shoved items between us without any acknowledgment, and when she dropped off the takeaway boxes, she practically just pushed them between our shoulders before walking off. It was dismissive and rude. We even had to ASK for our empty appetizer plates to be cleared so we could have enough space for our main dishes, which should have been standard service. On a positive note, the chefs were kind and attentive. However, the food itself was a mixed experience. The ramen was overly salty with an odd aftertaste, and the fried mashed potatoes weren’t enjoyable. On the other hand, the fried chicken dumplings, eel sushi, and Korean fried chicken were delicious and definitely the highlights of the meal. Overall, the poor service overshadowed the few good dishes.

Shopping mall
Sovereign Centre is a vibrant three-level shopping destination in Kingston, Jamaica. It offers a diverse range of retail stores, dining options, and entertainment facilities including a movie theater. Visitors can explore local and international brands at the boutiques and enjoy delicious meals at the eateries. The center also provides convenient services such as a pharmacy. With its uncluttered environment, reasonable prices, ample parking space, and accessibility, Sovereign Centre stands out among supermarkets in Jamaica.
There's literally nothing to dislike about Sovereign, it's an open environment with a good variety of food, clothing & small business stores all on one complex. The parking is also good enough to get by. The only con would be that it is an open / public space as I mentioned so there isn't much security. Otherwise very convenient if you're looking for a place to chill with friends without drama or overthinking a hangout spot. I recently got a smoothie there 💗

I like this place than other supermarkets in Jamaica because of this place having good customers services, it is not much crowded and also prices are very reasonable. This location is also easily accessible, they have good parking lot. Further I realised that they have variety of goods not only local foods also imported high quality products with reasonable prices. You can freely do your shopping anytime, no need to stay in long queue. I can recommend this place for your family as a best shopping experience in Jamaica. You can take your monthly or weekly needs in one place with all facilities including supermarkets, foods quarters, banking, telecommunications, dress point, etc. Please come and enjoy this market, its only for you and your family.

Strange enough, this madness is exactly as I remembered it over 10years ago. Not even the paint job as changed. It's the typical mall, variety of stores, food court with decent options and Cinema. Parking is usually ample however it's always a hassle or longer wait because there's no assigned person to assist drivers to empty spots or to ensure persons are not blocking while waiting to pick up. Attracts mostly younger crowd.

The Bob Marley Museum, located in Kingston, is a must-visit for reggae enthusiasts and anyone interested in the life of the iconic musician. Housed in his 19th-century home, this museum offers guided tours that provide insight into Bob Marley's life and legacy. The colonial-era wooden building has been preserved much as it looked during Marley's time there and is filled with memorabilia, including his gold and platinum records.
The gentleman guide was quite entertaining on the tour of the house, there was a 'sing-a-long' vibe which was hard to resist, certainly on our visit it was worth the entry fee. Perhaps it was the time of the day but the food outlet had very little that was 'ital', they had beer which covered the issue! I was able to get a parking spot without too much difficulty at the venue. Would be a nice house to live in... if it wasn't a museum!
Simon — Google review
This was a great tour! So much history. The tour took an hour. The history and information was great, but there was very little time to enjoy and take in the artifacts. It would have been nice to have some time in the rooms to really look at everything. Although I wouldn't want the tour to be any longer. 1 hour was plenty, but a little time set a side to really take in the art would have been better.
Bella L — Google review
The tour was amazing, Ricky our tour guide was an awesome and very knowledgeable commentator. Well worth the price for a tour to learn the history, and to see the many historical artifacts of the Legendary Bob Marley. My family and I enjoyed the experience.

Visiting the Bob Marley Museum was an incredible experience! Our guide, Irie Sue (Susan), was amazing her energy, humor, and deep knowledge carried us back in time to relive the life and legacy of Bob Marley. She made the tour unforgettable, sharing stories that brought his music and message of love and unity to life. The museum itself is full of history Bob’s home, studio, awards, and personal items are all preserved, giving a real sense of who he was beyond the music. You can feel his spirit in every room. If you’re in Kingston, this is a must-visit. And if you can, ask for Irie Sue as your guide—you won’t regret it!

I learnt so much history on the Greatest of all time. Photography is not allowed inside and I can't blame them, this is something you have to experience in person. Wonderful tour of the premises. Don't worry if you are a smoker there is a little treat at the end of the tour waiting.

Nice place to visit when in Jamaica. Tour guide has amazing energy. It's a tour around the house, not much furniture left though. There's parking spot on premise. The turn into the house is pretty small so don't miss it.

Very good tour and very informative. The only thing was there were too many tour guides there at one time, so it felt a bit rushed. The tour is about an hour . It would have been better if the tour was a bit longer. Jevy was our tour guide who made the tour worthwhile.

Botanical garden
Hope Botanical Gardens, established in 1873, is a 200-acre park featuring exotic and native plant collections, as well as a zoo. The gardens are home to various smaller gardens such as the Chinese Gardens, offering peaceful reflection and an opportunity to appreciate indigenous Caribbean flora. The site has undergone significant renovations in recent years and is a must-visit for nature lovers. Additionally, the gardens host an amphitheater that regularly features reggae bands.
Hope Gardens is an amazing place to visit especially if you are looking for a quiet place to relax and be surrounded by nature’s beauty. A perfect spot to unwind and recharge. It’s like Time stands still as worries fade, replaced by deep peace. Highly recommend for a rejuvenating experience!

A bit run down but still A beautiful place to spend an afternoon. With enormous Beautiful exotic trees and curated gardens and lawns with gazebos and shaded places for picnics. The Chinese garden is especially impressive. The maze though cool was closed when I was there (you can sneak in though) the greenhouse also appeared to be in shambles.

Very pleased. Great place to take your little one to run some steam off. It can feel a bit off when there are public events but overall, I have enjoyed coming here with the elderly and toddlers
Kerry — Google review
I will say it was really cool to see this place. I was a bit disappointed however as there seems to be so much more that could be done to enhance the experience. There is a water feature at the entrance that was not working when I got there. There were also other pools that were just stagnant water. Beyond those negatives, there is a variety of plants and trees to view. There was no entrance fee, but you will have to pay for parking. Once inside and on the grounds, you are free to walk, take pictures, and ai.pky enjoy the tranquility. I will go back. Maybe charging a small entrance fee could go a long way to help with the general upkeep of such a beautiful place.

If I could give this place 0 star I would. The only uptick is the atmosphere. Food pricey and not the best at all. Fried rice wasn't giving and the sweet sourchicken tasted and was giving "longtimecooked". Please review your bill because these people pad your bill and charge more than what the cost is on the menu pricing and act surprise when caught. The 2 old Chinese lady kept watching the room we rented as if she is an investigator, leaving an uncomfortable feeling. Patrolling and looking in constantly. We paid for the room, in advance, with an understanding of the event we were gonnause it for. I will never recommend this place. Better places are in Kingston with more reasonable prices and way better service.

The worst tasting food ever. This restaurant is probably one of the most expensive and the food was absolutely horrible. Do not ever go to this place. Wings - Unseasoned, over fried, tasteless pieces of garbage Shrimp fried rice - Shrimp undercooked, was not seasoned, tasted nothing like fried rice Sweet and Sour - Sauce was extra tangy, did not taste like sweet and sour, serving portion was not worth the price tag of over $3000 JMD Mallah Chicken - I must be an idiot because I’ve never gone anywhere and seen Mallah Chicken look like it was sweet and sour chicken, it tasted like the sweet and sour but the sauce was even more tangy, the portion size was also ridiculous for the $3000 plus price tag Martini - Tasted like they used stale lychee, tasted like they mixed wray and nephew with water Pineapple juice - I mean come on…. how do you mess up pineapple juice??? The juice did not taste like pineapple juice and it left a bitter taste in your mouth after I’ve been to many restaurants and this is by far the most expensive with the WORST FOOD and the WORST PORTION SIZES. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER! This place deserves negative stars.

Indian restaurant
Bombay Darbar by Nirvanna is a fusion restaurant in Kingston that offers an authentic Indian dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance strikes a balance between ethnic and contemporary, with Moroccan design elements adding to the rich Indian palace atmosphere. The owner, Mahek, envisioned Nirvanna as a refuge for those seeking great Indian cuisine. The interior features faded frescos of old caves and white onyx bar that illuminates from the inside, creating a spectacular visual effect.
I had the pleasure of visiting this Indian restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had an amazing time, particularly because the ambiance was very welcoming and unique. The staff were friendly and courteous, and the limited number of patrons at the time added to the privacy of our visit. The food was exceptionally well done. My personal favorite was the butter chicken. We also enjoyed the Malabar snapper, mutton Rogan Josh (prepared Indian style), and chicken Tikka masala, all served with fragrant white rice . The chicken Tikka masala, in particular, was also very delightful. The most unbelievable taste sensation came from the combination of our extra orders blended with the main dishes. Specifically, the cheesy garlic naan bread mixed with the butter chicken (or any of the other meats we had) was divine! This alone is enough to ensure my return! The taste was absolutely out of this world good! We also enjoyed roti and fresh juices, which were both amazing. The overall experience was just really good. The restaurant offers ample parking, and the entire space can comfortably accommodate up to 30 people, possibly even more. My only real disappointment is that the rice was not very warm when it was served. Other than that. This place is a must-visit—you won't regret it!

I did not enjoy my dining experience at this restaurant. My gf and I went around 8pm, but they had a huge party reservation so seating inside was full. We sat on the outside which was absolutely fine, because the Christmas breeze was splendid. Service was slow and it took forever for our orders to be taken. We had a group seated beside us that was gambling and being Hella loud, so I could hardly hear my date. The food came out around 15 minutes after ordering, the juice came after the food. We ordered lollipop chicken as an appetizer, but it came out with the main course. The lollipop chicken was burnt and the sauce gave nothing. I ordered salmon and it was just ok. My gf ordered the mutton that they said was cooking for 8 hours, which was obviously a lie, the mutton was raw and had absolutely no flavour, she ended up taking it home for the stray cats. The cheese roti was absolutely delicious though. The second set of drinks took forever to come out, we had to keep calling different waiters and reminding them. The bill came to 20+k and I still left hungry. I was just disappointed. Don't think I'll ever go back. The servers were pleasant and kept apologising but I don't think I'll ever go back.

The portion sizes were just right (not too much) and the taste exquisite perfectly blended spices and herbs each one subtle explosion on your taste buds. The beverages were smooth , and the alcoholic beverages were like you weren’t even drinking alcohol (be very careful of the amount you get —- it’s that smooth lol) big up to mixologist Zane . Service was exceptional and the DJ was on point with the hits . Overall had a great experience recommend this place 10/10 ambience. Great place to chill and eat. Not too big. We forgot to make reservations but was lucky to get a seat for four when we came. If you're into trying new foods you can come here. If you're motto is eat what you know, it's probably not for you. The choices were interesting and exciting. The service was great. The bathrooms were clean. So, though the food choices were interesting, can't say it tasted the best. I just pick and chose my way through. But it was a nice change. They have mostly Indian foods with some Chinese options.

Good food, beautiful decor, excellent customer service. Prices lean towards the more expensive side. The place itself is small so you can have intimate dining here. You order your dishes (protein, starch, vegetables) separately so bare that in mind. Portions are a bit small for me. The seasoning is different from Jamaican cousine but definitely not bad! Don't order curry and expect the a Jamaican curry. Recommendation: The shrimp noodles dish (don't remember the correct name) Delicious!

I can't complain about the food it was pretty good, service was also excellent, servers were attentive. The nighttime inside layout was dark set, with enough mood lighting. The food was amazing and the service was very good. My boyfriend and I shared their shrimp salad and it was one of the best salads I ever had. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and the dressings were very tasty. My boyfriend had the seafood scampi, which included lobster and mussels. I am not a fan of scampi, and I would definitely order it when I return. The sauce was so delicious and pasta cooked perfectly. I had the ribs and fries for my entree. It was just okay. I wouldn't order it again.

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant. Firstly, I must say that the ambiance is great; you almost forget that the restaurant is located within a plaza because of how well they have worked on creating an upscale ambiance, especially if you sit inside. The service was also great, not perfect, however, no complaints about the overall service. I had the Curried Goat Pasta; it was a little spicy but I think it was delicious. Their cocktails are a little pricey, but I like them; the Brew-Jito is a favorite of mine. I will recommend it; I will visit again.

Dinner at Broken Plate was just as described on their website. The flavors that hit my taste buds were delightfully scrumptious. I chose the crab cake small plate to start and I was not disappointed. The salsa was a combination of sweet, tangy and savory that complemented each other very well. For the large plate I had the lamb shank with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes. JOY! the lamb was soft, juicy and quite delicious. I don't remember if the sauce was listed but it was so delightful; I felt that my taste buds were dancing. For desert we had the coffee infused carrot cake. Delectable, melt in your mouth and the sauce completed the deliciousness. Thanks to our server Amanda for recommending my selections as great choices and being attentive to our needs. Shout out to the chef on a stellar job. Everyone loved their meal. High-class and elegant setting, very tasteful decor. The menu changed since the last time I went, and the prices went up significantly too. Our meal was delicious and the drinks were great. I still think I preferred the previous menu though.

This place has been on my list for some time and I finally got to visit! It was definitely a great experience. I got seated outside, where the view was calming and the food more enjoyable. The evening was a bit chilly, but once that alcohol hit, I completely forgot about the breeze. The drinks were tasty and I like the fact that I could actually taste the alcohol and it wasn't watered down. The food was perfect! I ordered the shrimp pasta and I was definitely not disappointed! The shrimp tacos were filled with a lot of different flavors and the chicken breast lollipops definitely was different in a good way! The service was great and our server made sure we were comfortable the whole time. The prices were a bit expensive, but with the taste and quantity, it was definitely worth it.

Japanese restaurant
Sora Japanese Sky Cuisine offers a unique dining experience with its rooftop setting, creating a rich and cozy ambiance for a great night out. The attentive wait staff provides exceptional service, despite some delays due to being understaffed on busy nights. The menu features scrumptious dishes like the Mix Fried Combo and Teriyaki Shrimp, as well as more adventurous options like octopus.
I was recommended to visit Sora while on vacation in Jamaica, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, the warm and inviting ambiance set the tone for an incredible dining experience. The addition of a live DJ in the corner created a lively yet relaxed atmosphere that perfectly complemented the evening. The service was exceptional, and every dish I tried was nothing short of a 10 out of 10. The food was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and reasonably priced—there wasn’t a single disappointment. As someone who lives abroad and has experienced many international establishments, I can confidently say that Sora embodies authentic Japanese cuisine. It’s clear that a great deal of care and attention goes into every aspect of what they do. This restaurant will undoubtedly be a must-visit for me every time I return to Jamaica. I wish Sora continued success in the future—they’re doing an outstanding job.

The craving for sushi was high and after a quick search, Sora Japanese topped the list with mostly 5 stars reviews. This restaurant did not disappoint! I had a great night. I decided to take my partner out for his birthday and everything was just superb. We were seated quickly, and our server was so pleasant. She checked in on us throughout the night, answered our questions regarding the menu and anything she didn't know, she would go find the information and get back to us. One of my friends is allergic to shrimp and they endured his beef was cooked without any cross contamination. Food: everything that came out was really good. The rolls were filled with flavors, my partner had a spaghetti type order and his was delicious. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The drinks were mixed to perfection. One drink in and I was already feeling nice. I'll definitely be back, they have a wide variety. The music is nice, the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Perfect date spot.

Came here to celebrate the birthday of a close loved one. The atmosphere was chef's kiss, I love that the music was kept at a nice volume and the vibes were calm and relaxing. If you love a comfortable eating area with decent scenery/ a view and lovely decor you might really like this place. Super friendly and professional waiters. You really do feel catered to the whole time. Personally the food was more on the average side for me, but I only tried a few things on their menu so I can't offer extensive commentary, They have multiple options on their menu that could be worth giving a try. I'd go there again just to treat myself to a nice evening out. Aside from the food, Everything else was a 10/10 💗

Worst dining experience, be warned. My friends and I had a reservation for Friday night and arrived on time, only to be met with a cascade of service failures. After being seated and receiving water instantly, things went completely downhill. Our unfriendly server, who preferred body language to speaking, came to take our order without providing us with any menu. After a few minutes, she returned to take our order. We specifically asked for our drinks and sushi rolls to come out before our entrees, a request she agreed to. This is where the real frustration began. Approximately 30 minutes after ordering, a single order of spring rolls, belonging to one of my friends, was placed on the table. No drinks, no sushi. It took another 15 minutes for the sushi to arrive, still with no drinks. The sushi was good, and we considered ordering more, but we gave up on the idea because our server was nowhere to be found. After an hour and fifteen minutes, we still had no server, no drinks, and no entrees. A different server finally checked on us and informed us that our drinks had been mistakenly served to another table and that the restaurant was out of one of our ordered entrees. This information was never communicated to us by our original server. We eventually got one of the drinks we ordered. Frustrated and hungry, I canceled the rest of our order and asked for the bill. It took another 15 minutes to receive the bill; I actually had to get up and find someone to get it for me. Our original server reappeared with the bill, with no apology whatsoever. We paid and left. If it were an option, this would be a zero-star rating.
Damion C — Google review
I do not recommend. This was the worst dining experience I've ever had. Our server ignored our table, was unfriendly and uncommunicative and unprofessional. Let me set the stage, three friends go out on a Friday night for cocktails and sushi. We were met with poor customer service and basically ignored. We ended up cancelling our entrees and leaving after waiting for over an hour because what we ordered wasn't available and the server didn't return to our table to inform us. No apologies. No explanation. Spend your money elsewhere.
Chantel D — Google review
All around great place to go! They improved on their menu so you have a lot more options to choose from. Portion size is great, price is reason able for what you get. Definitely won't break the bank. Seating is only outside so take a jacket because it does get chilly. Staff was nice and friendly. Be sure to make reservations online before going as there is limited seating

Market
Downtown Kingston Market is a vibrant hub that captures the essence of the city’s lively spirit. This bustling marketplace has transformed over the years, offering an array of goods from fresh fruits and vegetables to trendy clothing at unbeatable prices. As you wander through its energetic atmosphere, you'll encounter friendly vendors eager to assist you in finding exactly what you need. While it's essential to stay vigilant against petty theft, the market remains a fantastic spot for shopping and indulging in local cuisine.
Not bad in terms of prices, you have to walk around inside the market to get better deals because the person’s at the front most times buy from the sellers in the market and sell at a higher cost. Also try to limit the amount of valuable you walk with and cash if you don’t intend to spend it because unfortunately, you might attract thieves

The National Gallery of Jamaica, the oldest and largest public art gallery in the Anglophone Caribbean, offers a diverse collection of Jamaican and Caribbean art. The museum features permanent displays from renowned Jamaican artists like Cecil Baugh and Edna Manley, as well as rotating temporary exhibits showcasing local, regional, and international talent. Located on the Kingston waterfront, this cultural hub provides guided tours and programs while also hosting free admission events on the last Sunday of each month.
Art is the measure of a countries social and cultural intelligence. An educational experience that showcases some of Jamaica’s most prolific an artists and the need for successive generations to learn from the past and continue on a rich artistic legacy. Definitely going to visit more regularly, especially with my family.

A must visit if you are downtown Kingston and into the arts and culture of Jamaica. Will be back with my family.

It's a very interesting place to visit. Every Jamaican should at least see this place once, just to see the creations of various Jamaican artists. My only wish is that they should include more works from the rastafarian community as well as recent works from young up and coming artists. But aside from that, this place is great. The entire building is air conditioned and some parts of the floor are carpeted. Also there are seats provided to take a break. It costs only JMD$400 for adults to enter

Attended both T20 matches for the Windies vs. Australia series. I was at the Kingston Cricket Club and have no real complaints. People were generally friendly, the service, and offerings were also quite good.
Andrew L — Google review
I last visited on August 14, 2022. I sat in the section for the Kingston Cricket Club and I enjoyed it for the most part. The service was great but I do have just two pointers… The first is the bathroom. It’s appalling. So much so, I’d much rather hold it than go. The other issue is more so for the entire facility. The screen can’t really be read clearly; the one that has its back to south camp road that is. I’m sure patrons would appreciate being able to follow the runs and overs on the larger screen. Great vibe. Great people. Lovely game.

Not sure what the management is doing here. But when I was younger this place was well cared for. Even over the cricket was out of bounds when you visited for whatever event was being held. But it seems quite run down. They need to renovate the Park. A LOT of cricket was played here and still can be .

Sabina Park hosts numerous international sporting, entertainment & religious events. They are for the most part equipped to desk with the most basic needs of the crowd. Their parking facilities continue to be woefully inadequate leaving organisers scrambling to rent nearby available facilities which result in patrons taking for what seems like miles. Not yet up to the standards of international counterparts but hopefully they will get there eventually

Restaurant
Usain Bolt's Tracks & Records is not just a restaurant and sports bar, but also a celebration of Jamaican culture and the legendary sprinter himself. With locations in Kingston, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and even London, this venue offers an authentic Jamaican vibe with karaoke nights, reggae shows, and delicious local dishes like jerk chicken. The original Kingston location is recommended for the most genuine experience.
This restaurant has earned its affiliation with the legendary Usain Bolt. From the moment you enter, you see wonderful mementos of Jamaica and are greeted by some of the best staff in the industry. The restaurant is large and meticulously decorated to pay homage to Bolt's upbringing in Jamaica. Our server, Simone, was delightful. She greeted the entire table with a smile and made sure we had whatever we needed from beginning to end. I adored the red peas soup so much that I ordered a 2nd round. The only thing that it was missing was our traditional "spinners" dumplings. My fried fish was sumptuous! I replaced the sides with some white rice and oxtail gravy and was thoroughly satisfied with my choices. Everyone else in my party loved their dishes as well. We can confidently provide two thumbs up for our visit and would definitely recommend others give it a try as well.

Service is lacking and the staffs are rude and incompetent. Inability to take and deliver orders correctly, We were served our meal with no cutlery to eat and the waiter was oblivious to that fact. There is a ridiculous restaurant policy whereby you must order a meal before you can order from the drinks menu. I wanted to drink a few cold beers after a stressful day browsing coronations market and downtown Kingston. Didn’t feel like ordering any food because I didn’t fancy what was available to serve on the day because some of the items weren’t available. I was part of a large group of around 10, everyone else had food. Waiter was not a great fit for what is truly a beautiful sports bar and restaurant. Enjoyed being able to watch live sport from my table. I had a taste from one of the platters, Jerk pork was tough and had no flavour. I had a stomach ache almost immediately after eating the meat. The service was abysmal .. Food was okay, nothing to shout about. Music can be excessively loud and it feels more like a night club rather than a restaurant.

My family and I stopped for dinner. We had the vegan/ital pasta, oxtail dinner and a few drinks. The food was good 3.8/10, the drinks were priced very well but not string enough. Overall ambiance was great. And the service was also pretty good.

My friends invited me out the night before I leave the beautiful island of Jamaica 🇯🇲 . We all went to Track and Records the food was ok but what got my attention was the Spicy ketchup that was on my table, so I tried it and I love . When I was finished with my meal my friend ordered 2 bottles of the Spicy Ketchup for me has a going away gift. When I got back to the USA and tried it I felt robbed, more like Catfish 😩 it was not the same. If you are buying it buy the one on the table or open it right there.

My husband and I went to visit in the afternoon, and the bar was quiet at that time of the day. We sat at the bar, and I had some different cocktails. They were reasonable prices and lovely! One thing to say about it would be when we sat at the bar it was too much breeze due to a big fan on the ceiling. Big shout out to the guy behind the bar called Sadiki. He was hard working and giving us good service 🫶😊 Thank you so much!

Unfortunately, the service during our visit was very disappointing. While we were discussing our drink options, the server walked away mid-conversation and never returned. Our water glasses were never refilled, and overall, we felt as though we weren't welcome. It gave the impression that the staff didn’t want us to be there, which made the experience quite uncomfortable. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the service quality.

Amazing dinner at Saffron! Service was impeccable. Food was on point. This was our best dining experience on our most recent trip home to Kingston. Highly recommend the chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, fish goan curry, and garlic naan. But the star of the show was this creamy pineapple salmon dish our server recommended. Wish I remembered the name of it but it truly stood out. My mouth still drools when I think about this dinner!

The atmosphere was okay and my server was very attentive and helpful. I'll visit again. Since the first time I visited I've gone back three times and have taken others with me. I love the food, I love the garlic naan. I usually get Thai red curry green curry or yellow curry with shrimp and the garlic naan

While it may not be suited for fine dining enthusiasts, Moby Dick provides a glimpse into daily life in Jamaica with its flavorful offerings. The establishment is praised for its generous portions and delicious sweet and sour chicken.
I went here for lunch today, it seems like at one point this might have been more of a full service restaurant, but now mostly operates off of to-go orders. There is still a dozen tables you can sit at after you eat, but most people took the food to go. We waited a few minutes to have our order taken because we were there right at 12:30, but the food came out in less than ten minutes after. Delicious goat curry and dahl. Healthy portion and reasonably priced.

Ibo Spice Portal, located at 131 Orange St in Kingston, Jamaica, offers a unique experience for visitors seeking authentic Vegan/Ital food prepared by Rastafarians. The restaurant provides a peaceful and zen atmosphere away from the city's hustle and bustle. Their 'Inu' menu features locally sourced products obtained daily from the market.
A veritable culinary hidden gem of downtown kingston. Ibo Spice’s unassuming and humble little restaurant punches far above it’s weight class : Delicious vegan food (Breadfruit burger), rustic outdoor eating arrangement, and a friendly atmosphere. It would be a shame for anyone visiting Kingston to miss out on meeting the lovely Ibo & trying one of his meals. Great stop while strolling through Water Lane as you won’t feel heavy or weighed down.

Firstly let me say this is the most authentic vegetarian kitchen I've been to. The food is cooked on coal stoves and has that genuine flavour. Ibo also has natural drinks and tonics for sale. If you are a neat freak and tend to find faults with the surroundings then this place may not be for you as the place needs some amount of cleaning and renovations. With that said I'll return because of the food and the reasoning.

Nestled in the vibrant Vineyard Town area, M10 Bar & Grill is a hidden gem that food lovers in Kingston have come to cherish. This laid-back eatery is renowned for its culinary delights, especially on seafood Mondays and steak nights every Thursday. At M10, you can truly soak up the local vibe while savoring some of the finest inland seafood available. The atmosphere is inviting and perfect for unwinding with friends after a long day.
M10 is my go-to restaurant for a good Jamaican Sunday dinner when I don't feel like cooking. I usually pre-order to avoid the wait time. Family meals available with 4 servings of the selected entrée. I recommend the Oxtail. Parking is a bit limited though if you want to park inside. Be careful exiting and use the mirror across from the gate to see oncoming traffic.

M 10 prepares exceptional local cuisine. The presentation and taste was top tier. There weren’t enough servers the day I went and so the wait time was long. The decor and aesthetics were pleasing. Came here for a birthday meal with some friends. Was a nice spot to have a midweek meal although I think it was best suited for couples at the time we went. Wanted to tey the curry goat spring roll but they had ran out so had the pepper steak which, was well seasoned and tasted lovely ordered a blue drink called the electric lemonade. I eat very small portions and the server was more than happy to box up what I had left. We ate indoors but decided after we should of tried the outside dining as it was a nice night. We all enjoyed ourselves and all agreed it had a warming ambience. There is a lift to go upstairs as it is on the first floor if you don't want to take the stairs

I've actually been to this restaurant before and recall having a pretty decent experience. The restaurant's ambiance is nice and the food is pretty decent. However, on this particular trip, we were very disappointed by our waitress. Now, in all fairness, the restaurant should have been ashamed of itself for not staffing appropriately for Mother's Day. She appeared to be one of only 2 waitresses working on one of the busiest holidays of the year. However, outside of that, she didn't seem to have much customer service training. She looked as if she didn't want to be there and I noticed that many of the tables she was serving had no cutlery or even a glass of water while they were waiting to be attended to. We waited for about 20 minutes before she finally came over with some menus. We waited another 20 minutes before the water and beverages we requested were brought over. Then, we waited another 30 minutes before the food came. Finally, we had to wait another 20 minutes to receive our bill. Our waitress never checked on us in between. A large family with several mothers came in after us and never even received a glass of water by the time we left. They looked so aggravated but waited patiently the whole time. I felt genuinely sorry for them. While I was paying for my meal, the server asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. I think for the first time in recorded history, I actually told a server no to this question to their face. I didn't do this to be mean, but because there was no world in which she would have been deserving of a tip. I know serving is not easy. I worked at a 7-11 store while I was in college. However, a warm personality and a smile goes a long way. Forget whatever is going on at home and come prepared to collect tips and delight your customers. This is simple math. I encourage the owners to contact Fabian Thomas, who is a trainer and facilitator, to get M10's staff to the level its customers deserve. Your bottom line will thank you!

Food was good but the service.... Took so long to get drinks the people we met there left.. 20 minutes for a mixed drink is outrageous. Food was good though.

This was my first time visiting and I liked the environment. It was calm and relaxing and a nice place to hang out with friends. There was adequate parking and the facilities were clean. The food was good but the Servings seemed a little bit smaller in comparison to some other places. I had curried goat and mashed potatoes. I didn't like that there were no prices on the menu though. All in all, it was a good experience.

Outdoor Activities
Fort Clarence Beach is a stunning destination in Jamaica's capital city, offering a serene and safe environment to enjoy the natural beauty of the ocean. Visitors can relax on white-sand beaches under almond trees, take part in activities like horseback riding, and even witness nesting turtles. The beach park provides ample seating and free beach chairs for visitors to unwind while enjoying the cool vibes and music. Although seaweed may be present at times, efforts are made to keep the area clean for a pleasant experience.
The very best beach I’ve been to. So clean. Beach chairs readily available for free, I’ve never seen that before. Not a lot of crowd. Secured by Guardsman Security. Entry was $1,000 for adults and $500 for children 5-11yrs. Changing rooms were separate from bathrooms and were clean and available without hassle. Lots of parking also available. Highly recommend.

First thing first, I was a little bit disturbed when I called the listed number to get details on the items that were allowed. The young lady on the other end was clearly annoyed, and it came out from the way she answered the phone and how she responded to the questions I asked, abrupt and sharp, and ill mannered. Two security officers at the entrance, one was a little bit rude. I'm not really impressed with the setup. i see no difference with the old and the new other than the cashier at the front. After the long closure and the much anticipated upgrades, I expected more. Fresh water wash off is way too far from the changing rooms, especially when there is no running water in the changing rooms. The food wasn't good. There were only two choices for fish. Escoveitch and steam (only red snapper) and to make matters worse, they only sell 3lb fish, which reduces options for a small group. For example, 3lbs is too much for a 4yr who wants fry fish, and it's the same for a 11 yr old who wants steam, they can't can't share that 6lbs because their choices are different. Yes, there are beach chairs, but I have my own chairs, so personally, that's not a plus for me. I much prefer the old setup that provides different choices or different restaurants for food. There are some good points, the beach is clean and cleaner than when the previous operators had it. guardsman patrols along the beach is visible. However, I was advised that this is to ensure that the people who sell small items like peppered shrimp and peanuts don't access the beach to peddle their wares. The kitchen staff was well mannered, cashier was good, and the other server at counter was also very helpful. Small children and the elderly were allowed to park closer to the beach in the previous set up, this is no longer allowed. There is a lot of potential here to make this a great space, but there are areas that need to be addressed urgently, specifically the food and the customer service.

Secure private beach 30mins outside of Kingston. I had Lobster from the canteen, made to order. Plenty of trees for shade. Was lots of seaweed/safflower on the day we went....rising sea temperatures causing chaos *Plastic is destroying our planet.

The beach is normally great. But it's currently undergoing a seaweed deposit period as of August 23rd 2025.

The amenities are great, beach chair, changing room and restrooms, restaurant and bar. A beach clean up is however needed. There was so much trash on the beach and in the water.
Khimaja C — Google review
Pros: clean, secure, relaxing, you have shades and chairs to sit on, lovely view, life guards, bathroom (toiletries provided) and shower area, food shack (only one so order food early or bring your own), large parking space. Cons: $1000JMD sadly paid entry, not a lot of shades if beach becomes too full, one food shack so long waiting time (can walk on the beach to next door to get food), lawn chairs limited.
Huit B — Google review
Beautiful scenery, long shore line, clear water and great beach facilities however, the showers 🚿 should not be on the beach, where you have to walk on the sand afterwards, I suggest those are move closer to the changing rooms, overall lovely day you will have at the beach with family and friends. Five star for me.
Sarah S — Google review
Arrived for an early swim. I know we were three weeks after Hurricane Beryl, but considering this is a paid-entry venue, they should have made an effort to clear the debris. Or at least some of it! The music didn't start until employees asked what was going on. It just felt like, given they were open and collecting entry fees, more could have been done on the inside. Nevertheless, it was a great day out, lovely water as always.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Fort Charles, located in the sleepy fishing village of Port Royal, is a historic fort dating back to the 1650s. Once known as the pirate capital of the Caribbean, this site offers guided tours and a small museum where visitors can learn about its intriguing past. The fort's battlements are still lined with cannons from centuries ago, providing a glimpse into its defensive history. Additionally, visitors can explore the Giddy House artillery store, which is tilted at an angle due to historical events.
This land has history and herstory! It was great to learn about the pirates of the Caribbean and how soldiers back in the day defended our Port Royal border. This tour has many gems for all to hear and the giddy house is something for the books! It's sways you and makes you feel the energy trapped there for an eternity from January of 1907. Ms Janice our tour guide, was lovely! She was born and raised in Port Royal. She has remained there all her life, and it was awesome of her to share this journey with us. As always, I would encourage anyone to show support to their tour guides. And appreciate them taking time to share with you.

I made a day trip to Port Royal in November with my sister and went to explore the Fort. As a local the entry price is JMD$ 1,500. It was a good experience, I was afraid it might be too "educational" but it was a nice, quick trip back in time. Our guide Charmaine was great, super knowledgeable, very friendly, even helped us to find the right angles and moments for a picture or video. Ask for her when you go!
Laura-Kae R — Google review
Very unique and cool history. Half the place went under and the other half came up. Also, the tilted building is pretty cool. But I was surprised by the cannon that actually moves up and down. You do have to buy tickets around the corner. I wouldn’t tell you to go out of your way for it, but if there’s time it wouldn’t hurt to check it out .

I visited the fort as part of a school-sponsored trip. It was really interesting. The tour guide was knowledgeable and taught us all about the history of the fort while giving us a guided tour. I really enjoyed walking around and learning about the different landmarks and seeing them up close. You get to walk around the fort just like the soldiers that once lived there. You will enjoy this tour especially if you are a history buff or just interested in learning about Jamaica's history.

Staff very helpful and tour was excellent. They even break open almonds for you. There was no one else there on a Sunday, which allowed a private tour, beautiful day and excellent guide to tell the history. Go there, learn, and experience a 450 year old jut of land.

Performing arts theater
The Phillp Sherlock Centre is a great place to stage almost any performance that necessitates use of a theatre. It is centrally located at Ring Rd on the UWI Mona Campus, and has good seating capacity. I last went there for a piano recital, and have gone there in the past for plays and other lunch hour concerts.
Joniel G — Google review
The university singers gave an incredible perfomance, very well organized and professional from what i expected! It is the best chorale that I have ever experienced.
Lolo R — Google review
I visited this theater to watch the latest play in Jamaica called Pitch Patchy that has a bunch of influencers turned actors which was surprisingly good. I never had much expectations as I really didn't hear that much buzz surrounding it and I honestly thought it wasn't getting that much support but to my surprise it was the complete opposite and a good watch. The theater is a decent size but only good for small plays. The bathrooms were clean and actually smelt good plus had tissues so it was a win all around. The seats are little bit on the small side but still comfy. Not sure how it would work out for a very voluptuous person. But it's a good spot with decent parking as well
Samantha R — Google review
Good venue to host a production. They provide support throughout the process. They do not have a PA system which is weird. I was behind the scenes and didn't see the show but I could hear the audience enjoying themselves.

Nice little place. I went to see "the quilt". It was a beautiful art displaying African centered history and slavery. The actors, the voices, the stiryline... Beautiful!!! It's my second or third time visiting and the art pieces before were also beautiful. Nice place to go to your burst of our cultural diversity.
Candice F — Google review
Been here a few times for live entertainment and it was always very good. It's not a large theater but the sound and lighting is very good. Ample parking is available especially as classes are more than likely not in session when a play or other activity is showing. If classes are in session then parking could be a challenge.

Gloria's is a renowned dining spot in Kingston, offering freshly caught seafood prepared in traditional Jamaican styles. It is located near the historic area of Port Royal, known for its fascinating history as a former pirate stronghold that sank under the ocean due to an earthquake. Visitors can explore the nearby Fort Charles and its small museum, as well as the intriguing gravestones at a local church.
The food here is amazing!!! You have to try the fish soup. Just the right amount of spice\pepper. Soo good. I had the garlic lobster with festival and fried bammy. Very good. Also tried the fried fish. Excellent!!! Definitely recommend.
Shiro D — Google review
Relaxed atmosphere by the seaside with an extensive menu of delicious offerings. There is a wait but I expect that with a good restaurant. The wait was well worth it for us. The portions are large. The festivals are perfect. The bami was perfect. The Brown stew fish was my favorite. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone trying to relaxing day by the historic Port Royal.

Gloria's typically doesn't disappoint. I don't often go to this specific location but the view is a sight to behold. The other took a bit longer than I am used to however I didn't get my soup as soon as I ordered it. Overall the food experience was good. No complaints.

Well worth the short trip out of Kingston to Port Royal. The Red snapper, lobster and prawn combo was delicious and great value.
Adam M — Google review
This place is lovely. It overlooks the water. When you get there you have to go up the stairs and find a table you like. The service was friendly. The food does take longer to get to the table because its made to order. The portions are large, I think its worth the price.
C. S — Google review
To my surprise, there are 2 Gloria's at Port Royal, this visit being to the one "on the right from the main approach road". What a difference, we sat upstairs overlooking the Police Station and Kingston Harbour. We were all pleased with our meal except for the un-salted fries. They could have done with more waiting staff because we seated ourselves from the limited options, the table needed wiping which was done after a couple minutes. The wait for food felt like a long wait, they were very busy. A request for salt on arrival of food did not materialize until the fries were stone cold and we were nearly finished. Overall, my steam fish was delicious!

Juici Patties is a beloved fast food chain that has made its mark across Jamaica, boasting over 60 locations islandwide. Originally starting as a bakery focused solely on beef patties, it has transformed into a full-service restaurant offering an extensive menu that includes various patties, buns, and hearty meals for any time of day. This popular eatery can be found in every parish and has even expanded internationally to Canada and the UK.

I just visited the location and I was quite pleased with the customer service from one of the cashiers named Tashna. They aren't bad with service except it's always best to walk with cash for this location they POS (card) machine always seems to be down. The staff are pleasant, and they will go check on an option or how long it is before it's ready before you order. They now offer hot lunches at this location, not just breakfast.

I had a great experience visiting this Juici patties. Inside was clean and comfortable. I had the opportunity of trying their peanut and hominy porridge, also known as peacorn, 2 fritters, and a bottle of data. The porridge tasted the food and the fritters are delicious. The service was good and the wait time could have been less, but overall it was a good experience.

One of the cleaner more efficient Juici outlets. It was good for a quick meal. The lines moved quickly and we were served almost immediately. There is an option to dine in and there is also a drive through if you prefer the comfort of your own vehicle. I think they have the best beef patties with cheese.
Mijan M — Google review
They need to do better than they do. Not because they sell cheap food downtown means they can't be sweet to their customers and keep their tables spotlessly clean. Come on. Make your customers feel good about being in your store. It is not all about grabbing a patty! Let them have something positive to say about you when they leave the store instead of glaring and muttering under their breath all the time.

Nestled in the vibrant Progressive Shopping Centre in Barbican, St. Andrew, Chez Maria Restaurant is a delightful family-owned gem that beautifully marries Lebanese and Italian cuisines. With a menu brimming with Mediterranean favorites, guests can indulge in classic dishes like tabouleh salad, hummus, and grape leaf mehsheh alongside mouthwatering pizzas that are celebrated as the best in town.
I went here on a date night with my wife. It was a very memorable experience. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. She gave us great suggestions on what we could order. As a foodie, I appreciated the authentic Mediterranean flavors I tasted. We went at night and the ambiance was really cool and relaxing with view of the surroundings areas from the rooftop. The lamb and our drinks were exceptionalI highly recommend!

Loved the option for either indoor or outdoor. There was music outside if you wanted that type of vibe. Inside was much more quiet. The food did not take long to get to the table and my server was very courteous. Definitely going back.

I went here for my birthday and it was amazing, as soon as I arrived I got a table and the food and the atmosphere is really, really good. The waiter Roshaun was very polite and ensured that our order was okay and that we were comfortable. I highly recommend you come to this restaurant you won't regret it😌💫

The atmosphere was lively and fun and everyone was very friendly and nice. However, my steak was well done when I had asked for medium rare and they forgot one of the orders. When reminded about the missing order, the waitress lied and said the order had indeed been sent in to the kitchen but when we enquired, it actually had not. Disappointing experience.

Food was okay. Jerky Pizza was decent. Seafood pizza lacked flavour - just salty. Pepper flakes were nice and hot! Ambience was meh, music played for 10-15 minutes or so, that's it. Friends said was pasta was bland. Bring good company, and you should be fine.
Khaleel H — Google review
Gave this restaurant a 3 overall. Good food but very indifferent staff who offered the bare minimum in interest and attention. Decor is OK - not outstanding. Tables are a bit cheek to jowl which makes conversation challenging - you can literally talk with people at a neighbouring table without any additional effort based on closeness (not a place for conversations you don't want overheard).
Thera E — Google review
It was a Wednesday night, so the place was not crowded that was great as we were able to get a table. The view was great. The server was a 10/10- polite, patient, helped with my final choice as I was indecisive 😅. Overall excellent customer service 👍 😀. The wait time was about almost 30 minutes (probably my fault...indecisiveness) The food did not disappoint, they had a dessert menu which I loved...
Tenneil S — Google review
Came here at 5:30 on Saturday no reservations. There was no wait time and we were seated promptly. The outside view was really nice, we could see the sunset, however there was a drizzle and we had to move inside. For a restaurant that promotes outside eating, we would have assumed that there would have been umbrellas at the tables for instances like this. The DJ was nice, vibes was good, food was alright.

Nestled in the mountainside, Holywell Park Jamaica is a national park teeming with local fruits, lush vegetation, and meandering streams. Visitors can stay in cozy log cabins or camp outdoors amidst foggy and chilly surroundings. The park offers hiking trails like Oatley and Waterfall, providing a rustic experience with serene mountain views. Despite constant rain making the waterfall trail muddy, the clean facilities and accommodating rangers make it worth revisiting.
Great campsite with clean spaces and fresh air. Spend the night or camp the weekend in a tent or cabin. Take advantage of grabbing coffee, treats or a meal by the cafe. Take in the views of both sides of the mountain tops Kingston, St Andrew, St. Catherine and Portland. If you are adventurous take a hike to the hidden water fall and leave with a great experience.

My friend celebrated her birthday in April at Hollywell. It was lots of fun. The air was cool and fresh with the smell of pine trees . The views were breathtaking. We used the fire pit for grilling potatoes and sausages. Seeing the coffee berries reminded me of spending time in the country with my grandmother . The only drawback was the winding roads .

The park is a beautiful place, the various trails to explore. the weather is nice and cool and is an amazing place to camp. The rangers are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Only downside with camping is that some of the camp grounds are far from the bathroom. Aspects like the waterfall and stream are underwhelming nice but definitely not as nice as the flora.

The journey began with a guided walk over the plantation, which included a challenging yet rewarding steep climb to the top. Our guide provided a comprehensive and engaging explanation on the history of coffee, both globally and within Jamaica. Their knowledge and passion for coffee were evident, enhancing the overall experience. Reaching the summit, we were greeted with stunning, panoramic views over Kingston, which provided a perfect backdrop to our adventure.

The Craighton Estate is a national heritage site and host to an informative coffee farm tour which also includes the opportunity to taste the world renowned beverage.

The guide Junior was excellent. So informative throughout the visit from seeing the coffee plants to the explanation of coffee processes and grading
Malcolm L — Google review
The tour guide did an excellent job of educating us about the history of coffee and UCC Craighton. He is so knowledgeable about the development of coffee. It was so delightful to enjoy some rum cake and a cup of blue mountain coffee on the balcony of the property's ancient home. The estate tour that followed had stunning views of the blue mountains the entire time. Be prepared to climb some stairs; they won't be too difficult, but it will feel like around 15 flights. Each individual on the excursion must pay $25 USD. Visited : Apr 2023

Nestled high on Jacks Hill, overlooking Kingston, the Kingston Dub Club is a must-visit party spot offering an unparalleled setting and top-notch music. Every Sunday night, guests can enjoy live roots reggae and dub music against the backdrop of the city skyline. The open-air venue creates a laid-back atmosphere that attracts a diverse crowd of locals, expats, and visitors.
It's an experience. Amazing vibes. Can't put into words. Ladies, don't wear high heels. Steep uneven steps to walk down to the club. JD 2000 entrance fee.

An awesome place for reggae music with a beautiful view of the city. The drive up is a bit scary at night, on narrow winding roads. Food and drinks here are reasonably priced. $2000 JMD entry fee, cash.
Alex K — Google review
I really enjoyed the view, the fresh juice, lovely menu of light meals- we had a veggie burger and mac n cheese. The music was great, friendly atmosphere

The most beautiful view over the city! Perfect time to go there is before the sunset and enjoy spectacular view! They have some good natural juices, but food is disappointing (I wouldn't recommend coming here for dinner). It's defenetely one of the best options in Kingston to enjoy music and dance.
Nevena P — Google review
We'll definitely go back! Loved the vibe by 10 pm. Be ready for stairs, and I wish they'd trim some of the leaves on the balconies to see the skyline a bit better, at least when I was there. It's a bit of a drive to get there but it's worth it. ❤️ Can't wait to bring more folks.

Not to be missed if you're a fan of dub reggae. Sundays only. 30 mins car trip from the city.
Adam M — Google review
The charge entrance fee of $1500/per person is ridiculous & not reasonable. Otherwise, good mountain view, a chill-out vibe, and safe, music, still recommend it. Bar food is between OK and good. ( we ate homemade Solomon Gundy if you like spicy and tuna is good. But finger fish was not good as I expect. ) Can be a little crowded and at midnight is difficult to get a taxi to be back.
Zoe B — Google review
This place is all you need for cool, chill vibes, herbs and great music. We ended up here by a chance and I am glad we did. We are not smokers but we had a great time. If smoking bothers you it's not for you. The drive up there was long winding road but coming back we found the short and more straight road, which was great coz we were kinda of toasted by end of night. Make sure you have a ride back. There is a cover fee $1500 pp which might be high for some but they are not hounding you to buy drunks or herbs so I think its fair. Drink and food prices are reasonable. They have fresh juices. Has a great view come early to enjoy the surrounding vegetation that decorate the place, sunset and at night the city view. Crowd picks up at around 0830. It was a great place and experience. Definitely will return again if we comeback to Kingston.

The Peter Tosh Museum, located at the Pulse Centre in Kingston, is a vibrant tribute to the iconic reggae musician. It showcases an array of his personal belongings such as guitars, original hand-written lyrics, and even his famous unicycle. The museum not only celebrates Tosh's musical legacy but also highlights his advocacy for equality and justice. Visitors can immerse themselves in a documentary about his life while surrounded by fascinating memorabilia.
I Highly recommend this museum, to visit. The information is phenomenal. If you love reggae & Bob Marley, you will love this. The security guard/tour guide is so passionate about Peter Tosh and full of addictional knowledge & information. Please visit and bring life back to Peter Tosh legacy. Pictures are not allowed in the museum.

Loved it, the knowledge of the guide was on point, entry price good still. Great museum to visit & support before or after the Bob Marley Museum.

An up and coming museum on the great Peter Tosh. A self-guided tour. It’s small with a few rooms. It’s mostly reading a lot of artifacts. Not kid kid-friendly as there are not really any interactive things to do to engage a child’s interest . There was only one 25 min video on Peter Tosh which included mostly interviews from others about him. There are plans to renovate and add new media. The price is reasonable. No pictures allowed due to copyright laws.
Westmore S — Google review
An interesting few artefacts from Peter Tosh’s life but very poor value for money (2500 JMD/20 USD) for a self guided tour of two small rooms. Were watched by a security guard (who spent most of our 20 mins there on his phone), which felt quite uncomfortable. Such a pity particularly given how well Bob Marley House is run and such a contrast to other museums (such National Gallery, which is 400 JMD and provides great value for money with a lot on the art and history of Jamaica).

An amazing place with amazing memorabilia. A must-see for any reggae legend museum tourist. They have the original M16 guitar and Peter Tosh's unicycle on display. They have a wonderful documentary playing in the background and amazin memorabilia everywhere the eye can see. I wonder if I walk down memory lane. Do not miss this national treasure and attraction while you're in Kingston, Jamaica. BigUp! Yourself & BigUp! Jamaica!
Mike W — Google review
Nice little museum, price was negotiable. There are not too many visitors, so the staff will tell you a lot about Peter's history individually. Sadly no pictures allowed, but this was the same in every museum I've been in Kingston. A so it goes...
Rainer U — Google review
A disgrace to Peter's memory, smaller than a medium size office. Welcomed by a grumpy man who told us not to take any photos. Good luck promoting this museum (not) to the world. There are some pictures and info panels, next to the gun and torturing devices used to beat Peter up. I guess the director of this place is a former Police officer. Such a great artist who inspired me for more than 40 years now deserves much better than this scam of a so called museum.
Karel M — Google review
Now I know why no one knows about this place the person that’s outside to greet you is very unprofessional. Wanted to build a tour package to bring guests there but that’s a no will just stick to the other professional museum

The Steak House on The Verandah is a must-visit dining spot with friendly and attentive service. The staff is considerate of food allergies, although there might be some delays in credit card transactions. The ambiance is great for dining with friends and family, and the food is worth the price, offering filling and well-presented dishes. Visitors praise the delicious, well-seasoned, tender, and juicy meals such as pork chops and steaks.
Absolutely loved lunch here! The setting is beautiful. The food was really nice and came surprisingly quickly. The service was really super and thoughtful and the drinks were well mixed! Bathroom is accessed by a key. Great parking. Good deals on lunch specials. Will be back soon!

My two cousins that live in Kingston took me here while I’m in Jamaica on holiday and I definitely recommend. We got seated straight away, our food didn’t take long to come at all, I got a burger (don’t remember the name) and a mocktail as I’m not old enough to drink yet the food & drink was a 10/10, our server was nice unfortunately I forgot her name I believe it began with a C I’m not sure and the atmosphere was lovely. I definitely recommend if you’re on holiday or even if you live in Jamaica and want to go to a nice place to eat.

This is a nice resturant, cozy without being cramped. The decor features somewhat rustic wooden tables and chairs. Exposed brick wall adorned with art. The soft warm lighting creates a relaxed ambiance. The food was delicious and service was good. It is perfect for intimate, small and medium size party. I will definitely be back

Three of us went on a Friday evening without a reservation. We had no issues and were seated immediately. Note, this was right after Christmas (early January) so I don't know if it is normally full. The menu has something for everyone. We ordered the smoked herring pasta, chicken cordon Bleu and roasted chicken breast. We also got seasoned fries and Mac and cheese. Everyone enjoyed their meals, although it was noted that the roasted breast was a bit dry. The cordon Bleu serving was large, but a tad bit salty for my taste. For those that love Solomon Gundy, the pasta had a good balance of flavours. In my opinion, more flavourful cheeses could be used in the Mac and cheese to enhance the flavour, but it was creamy and none was left! For drinks, we had the blended fruit punch, which was good, but may not be for everyone. I also ordered lamb chops to go, which we're excellent even when eaten warm after some time. I'll definitely be returning, and I especially hope they will bring back raw oysters and mussels on Fridays!

Hands down one of my favourite establishments in Kingston. Al fresco dining means it can be a bit warm, but there are fans and portable ACs to alleviate it. I have never had anything from that menu I didn’t like, and my top recommendations (in no particular order) would be the chicken cordon bleu, coconut scotch bonnet cream pasta (don’t worry it’s not too hot), and tuna tartare. The pork chop also gets an honourable mention, too. The lobster roll from the lunch menu is a massive hit, and the lunch menu seems to rotate items every month to keep things exciting. It works. I cannot emphasise enough how good the service is, there. I’ve actually been able to peep at interactions between staff members and also between the owner and his staff, and it’s easy to see why the service here is far superior to a great many places across the island. Every team member (that I’ve seen) from cook to hostesses is considered and treated well, and that translates into their interactions with customers. Shoutout to the resident bartenders, who are not only good at making the listed cocktails, but also creative enough to come up with things to suit your tastes if necessary. Nothing tastes sickly-sweet and artificial, and I can’t recommend the vanilla (vodka) lemonade enough to beat the heat any day. Can you tell this place gets way too much of my income?

During my recent visit from California I had the pleasure of dining at The Steakhouse on the Verandah and it was an exceptional experience. We tried everything on the menu, and every dish was a testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs. The food was simply delicious—well-seasoned, tender, and juicy. I had the pork chops, which were cooked to perfection, while my business friend enjoyed a steak that was equally impressive. Each bite was a delight, showcasing the quality and care put into the preparation. For dessert, we indulged in the rum cake with ice cream, which was splendid. The Bob Marley drink was colorful fun drink also a standout, with its delicious flavors perfectly complementing my meal. The service was another highlight of our visit. Princess, our beautiful waitress, was fabulous. Her attentive and friendly service made our dining experience even more enjoyable. And the Manager Christian was equally as kind! We can’t wait to go back to to try more If you’re looking for a memorable meal, be sure to visit and tell them you saw my review. You won’t be disappointed!

Some of the worst food I’ve had at a nice restaurant in a while. The servers were nice, and the atmosphere is good, but it just didn’t taste very good and was extremely expensive for what it was.

Top Notch. A must visit. The waiter was friendly and courteous, I especially like the fact that he was concerned if any of his guests had any food allergies. My only issue was the delay in the credit card transaction. The ambiance was great and nice location to dine with friends and family. The price is worth the food and it was extremely filling. I extended my recommendation 👍🏾 The presentation of the food was also well done. I will need to revisit to rate their restroom facilities.

Nestled on a hillside, Strawberry Hill offers elegant accommodations in the form of 13 clapboard cabins with stunning views over Kingston. Originally gifted to the Walpole family by the British royal family in 1780, this property was later purchased by Chris Blackwell, known for Island Records. The cabins exude colonial charm with plantation shutters and mahogany four-poster beds. The infinity pool provides a breathtaking view of Kingston below.
What an amazing & romantic place. You would come here to relax & take in the fresh air.. Great food & service. The crew at strawberry hill was wonderful.. from the driver who took us to & from hotel to all of the restaurant staff.. house keeping.. & receptionist.. we definitely felt accommodated. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Very clean. Good massages and would highly recommend their body massages. Visit their website to see a full list of all services. There is something for everyone. It is also easy to gift a treatment to friends and family as well. I also did an anti aging facial as well however for the money I didn’t quite feel as though I got the value for my money. As for the ambiance, it is so calming. Great place to relax. Easy to find. Ample parking. Staff is courteous. As a local that is extremely important to me. If you are interested in dining at the restaurant, I suggest calling to get an idea of the menu options and budget. If you are traveling with small children please keep a close eye on them as I don’t think this place is child friendly with high stairways, uneven surfaces due to the location in the hills etc. It is beautiful though

I went for a dinner reservation for my birthday. I had to make a $20 USD deposit per person to secure the reservation. The place was scenic with an amazing view of the city. They started us off with bread, which I liked. I ordered the crab cakes and stuffed chicken. My partner and best friend ordered the pork chops. For appetizers, they had spring rolls and soup. The appetizers were basic. The main courses were great. Seasoned well. Pork was tender. The service was good. I got a complimentary slice of carrot cake for my birthday. Side Note - the roads leading up to the property were very bad.

Very pleasant location with an excellent view of Kingston - we came for lunch at the restaurant. The cocktails were good, the seafood starters and cheesecake dessert were fine , but our entrees were disappointing (the fried whole fish was too dry and unpalatable ; the goat curry was too salty while the oxtail was underseasoned )

This place is incredibly relaxing, and the service is top-notch. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. My favorite part of the experience was the spa—especially the reflexology foot massage combined with the full-body massage. It was so soothing that I fell asleep almost instantly. The facial was decent, but it could have been better. They used some high-quality, healthy products, which I appreciated, but I expected a facial steamer. Instead, they applied a hot towel for a few minutes before wiping it off. Despite that minor issue, I still give this resort a full 5 stars. It’s absolutely worth the money, and I highly recommend it.

The journey to get there was something and unfortunately we visited on a day when the weather wasn’t the best but that’s nothing compared to the rude and callous staff. Nonetheless, very breathtaking view. It’s one of those places you visit and go “oh” then be on your way.

My wife and daughter stayed while on a trip to Jamaica recently and my wife celebrated her birthday here. First of all Island Outpost who current operate this place, and the staff on site represent the warmth of the people of Jamaica. If you want an impersonal service where the staff are unimportant to you as individuals then this is probably not the place as the staff are warm, friendly, and love to interact with guests who wish to do so. Starting with the booking process it could not have been smoother, Island Outpost did all they could to assist me, and very kindly made adjustments due to changes in our arrangements. Everything was friendly, courteous and professional. On arrival I had a call from my wife saying how amazed and happy she was. The staff were so kind and assisted her with her suitcases. She stayed in a one bedroom cottage with a lounge and terrace overlooking Kingston etc. The rooms are intentionally in touch with nature and I did see a review about this but why else would go visit somewhere in the mountains surrounded by amazing nature? The rooms are really well appointed with mosquito nets on the windows and over the beds. The beds are large and luxurious, super comfy mattresses. Having a fridge and a microwave was also useful for evenings where they wanted to relax. The cottages are well maintained, again I did see some comments that the hotel is past its best, but my wife didn't experience that, in fact her experience was that the hotel has an intentional 'lived-in' feel and vibe to it. It was never designed to be what some tourists might want, brand new and clinical. This place has soul. The cottages are independent from each other and secluded and each one offers a different view/experience. My wife moved from one cottage to another mid way due to other bookings and us making a last minute booking, but again the service was brilliant and she also got to see that the other cottage (without a lounge) was just as well appointed. The views are amazing but also you experience the beautiful sounds of the birds around. The communal areas are also fantastic. The bar and restaurant facilities are great, and the rum punch is second to none, using Blackwell rum from the man himself. The pool is a real attraction and while my wife was there the staff try to carefully manage visitors such that they do get to see the views but don't crowd the pool area being used by guests. Regarding the pool area this is intentionally not a box standard blue tiled pool. It has been designed to try and seamlessly fit in with the landscape, as is the pool area so if you are looking for straight lines and modern angles then again this is not the place. The breakfasts was amazing with plenty on offer and a good variety available. Cooked food was the only aspect that on occasion not so consistent, but that is a minor point. There are some local restaurants and takeaways only a few minutes walk from the hotel, to the left as you exit the hotel round the corner is an amazing takeaway plus coffee plantation, and if you instead go right there is Cafe Blue not far down the road. These are nice places to wander to if you want to stretch your legs. We do want to personally thank Sarafina who handled our booking and Michelle who was on hand in the hotel. Michelle did everything to look after my wife and daughter. When they arrived my daughter had had a slightly poorly tummy already and immediately Michelle arranged soup for her. Then on my wife's birthday she was serenaded by the staff and made to feel so special. Michelle even kindly gave my daughter a gift. When my wife and daughter left to fly back to the UK they came away with precious memories they will keep for life. We will definitely be booking again, although this time with me also. I understand it is on the market, so I just hope that whoever purchases it does it justice. It is a beautiful place and needs to retain the love and care of it's staff to keep its vibe. I do hope it isn't transformed into a soulless resort identical to every other one. Huge thank you!

Uncorked! is a delightful haven for wine and cheese enthusiasts, born from a passion for exquisite flavors. This charming spot invites you to take your time and relish their carefully curated selection of wines paired with the finest cheeses from around the globe. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between casual and fine dining, making it an ideal place to celebrate special occasions or simply unwind after a long day.
This was my second time visiting, it was a great experience as usual. The food is delicious and don't get me started on the drinks, they have an amazing and mind-blowingly vast selection of wines available. Dishes on their menu have a recommended wine to pair it with that helps to bring out even more flavor from the food and the wine itself. I would definitely recommend that you visit

So we have visited all three Uncorked. Our first visit was to the Uncorked West in Montego Bay as a treat after my daughter sat her Primary Exit Profile (PEP) exams. The service was amazing and our server was so lovely he congratulated my daughter and made the experience something to look forward to. I then found out that there were two other when I went to post my review about the service, so we decided to visit all three and placed them on the bucket list. The next visit was Uncorked Too in Constance Spring this time the occasion was to celebrate my Daughter achievement in the Pep exams as She got top Girl and was in the top two in Jamaica for PEP. She was placed at the top school in Jamaica. this visit was ok we loved the food but service never matched up to the experience that we got at Uncorked West. Yesterday we visited the Uncorked in Barbican and the service was cold it broke our hearts. This occasion was for My daughter topping her class. We told the server the occasion and I initiated that I wanted to get dessert but non was offered so we paid and left. I went inside to use the bathroom and the person cashing said to me miss in a tone to say why are you here you don’t like you can pay so I said I’m here to pay my bill use the bathroom and leave. The only reason we wanted to try all of the branches was based on the first impression, now I can say first impression does not last all the time we are yet to be treated with the warned and love that was shown the very first time. The fact that I chose to celebrate all of my daughter’s major wins with your franchise should say a lot.

My sorority sisters and I visited this restaurant for lunch while staying in Mo Bay a few weeks ago as we visited from the US to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Our food was ok. Some enjoyed more than others. I ordered the salmon balls (not pictured), they were bland. I also ordered the Oxtail Gnocchi which was much better. The pasta was a little mushy but I was able to push through as the overall dish had a good taste and the oxtail was cooked to my liking. My drink was pretty good. I do however feel I would’ve enjoined my meal more if I wasn’t nursing a sore wrist and knee while eating after toppling down two steps because of negligence of this establishment. We were a semi large group of 9 that was seated on an upper level. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice how close I was placed to the edge of the landing as I sat in the end seat as a trusting patron that never questioned the seating arrangement. It wasn’t until I attempted to get up to use the restroom by pushing my chair back did I meet my fate of toppling down two steps. I knocked over my glass of water on the way down, shattering it while my friends held the table to prevent it from falling on me. I left with a complimentary bag of ice for my sore wrist and a $78 (USD) bill as the manager, Chevel with no sign of remorse refused to comp my bill. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired, to say the least!

I loved the presentation of all the different foods i saw come out. I enjoyed the atmosphere , everyone was also dressed nice. The food tasted good not the best I've head but good enough for me to visit again to try other dishes. The place is pricey in my opinion. I spent 20k on the food in the pics (3 dishes), a bottle of coconut water, 4 shots of Appleton and a bottle of coke. The food was also very filling.

Amazing place if you enjoy a good glass of wine or a bottle. Great selection of wines from around the world at fairly reasonable price. Food selection is fantastic, too, plus great service. As usual in Jamaica, except a bit of waiting until your food arrives. But all in all, a great night out in Kingston.

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Uncorked! We went to celebrate my sister's graduation and though the space was a little too tight, we enjoyed the aesthetics. The environment was ambient, relaxed, and had a casual fine dining modern theme to it. The prices are moderate and the service is absolutely excellent! Our waitress attended to us with such grace, class, expertise, and professionalism! We didn't book a reservation but when we got there we easily got a table for four! From start to finish my experience was wonderful! The food was absolutely high class with so many different flavors coming out of our dishes! Overall, my experience was a really good one! Looking forward to going back!

As an able bodied person I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and food at Uncorked Ochi. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not accessible to people with disabilities or an aging population with movement restrictions. There is no ramp for wheelchair access downstairs and no elevator to get upstairs to the main dining room. Considering that the restaurant is located in a newly constructed building, this is terrible oversight. In addition, a large portion of returning residents reside in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant, many with mobility issues who are unable to access the restaurant. Very unfortunate!!!!

EITS Cafe, short for Europe In The Summer, is a charming restaurant nestled in the Blue Mountain Range. Run by a father and daughter team, Michael and Robyn Fox, this spot is a favorite among Kingston locals seeking a blend of European and Jamaican flavors. The menu features delights like pea and mint soup, saltfish fritters, barrel-roasted chicken with Blue Mountain herb gravy, veggie lasagna, and rum fire ice cream cake.
Stopped by while in Blue Mountains. Very friendly service and simple but good quality menu. Some good JA dishes like Curry goat or Snapper/Lobster. Chef takes pride in cooking all the food fresh to order. No need to rush as in Jamaica. Definitely recommend. Road up from Kingston a challenge and limited parking. Views wonderful. Alcohol or coffee served.

I have been here twice, once in 2025 and once in 2016. The view and food are more than worth the drive up the Blue Mountains. I recommend coming up from Kingston for a MUCH smoother drive up. The flavor of all the food I've had here is 10/10 as well as the clever new takes on Jamaican staple foods and ingredients. I could sit up there all day with some blue mountain coffee and the view.

"Eits"host, Robin ....makes every effort to assist in making your dining experience; one to remember. Lovely ambiance with simple natural eclectic decor nested in the foot hills of the Blue Mountain . View is breathtaking ....great escape! I will return.....
