Bamboo Beach Club, formerly known as Reggae Beach, is a hidden gem offering a quieter and more authentic Jamaican experience. Nestled in a sandy cove with sea grape trees and rocky outcrops, this venue provides entertainment with dance shows and drumming while serving cocktails and beach dining. The $11 entry fee includes a beach chair rental for the day, allowing visitors to relax in the quarter-mile cove.
Had a fantastic day with my wife and son, accompanied by Lia, our tour guide for the day. Lia took us tubing on the Rio Bueno which was brilliant fun that involved a jump into the river at the halfway point. We then headed to Dunns River Falls which was fun too. After building up a mighty appetite, we were taken to Bamboo beach club which is a nice secluded spot with nice clear waters for swimming. As part of our package we were given a huge meal that included pudding, and had at least two drinks each (alcoholic for my wife and I, juice for our son). We had the option of seeing a cocktail masterclass too. All in all, for the price per person, I'd say it was reasonable for what you get. Ask for Lia to be your guide. She was attentive and went over and above, buying guineps (small Jamaican fruit, like a cross between lychees and mangoes!) because she heard my wife mention how much she loved them! A great day that we'll remember always!

High school group meet up was good. The staff and food was great. The accommodation was spacious and clean. However the rain cut our fun day short. This will be a spot we revisit when in Trelawny.
Cynthia G — Google review
The food was absolutely awful. • The burgers were both raw and burnt. • The supervisor prepared a cocktail that had ants in it. • All three servings of Stamp and Go had raw flour inside. • The Oxtail Pasta also had raw flour and was completely undercooked. • The festival was so overpowered by cornmeal it was hard to enjoy. • The ketchup was spoiled, and when we raised this concern, the manager insisted that ketchup “can’t spoil.” We were greeted with a long list of dos and don’ts, including no smoking, yet a British couple seated beside us was allowed to smoke freely. When our server returned with the supervisor, a lady with a very poor attitude interrupted. I had to ask who she was, and she stated she was the manager Ms Annmarie. Her behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful, as she blamed her staff instead of addressing our concerns. It was also clear that our server was afraid of her Manager, which was sad to see. The only positive part of this experience was our server, who showed excellent customer service. She was patient, kind, and genuinely tried to make things right, even though it was clear the management did not support her efforts.

Ariya was such a delight. She shared so much intellectual history of Jamaica as well as the vibes. I came with a group of 6 and all of us had a great time!

⭐ 1 out of 5 I was really disappointed with my visit to Bamboo Beach Club. The service was slow and unorganized. The food took forever to come out, and when it finally did, it wasn’t worth the wait — cold and lacking flavor. The beach area could’ve been much cleaner. I expected a much better experience. Definitely not what I was hoping for and I wouldn’t recommend it. All the drinks we asked for wasn't available total waste of time. I personally wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Kimberly C — Google review
We had a great time at Bamboo Beach! The beach itself is beautiful—clean, scenic, and perfect for relaxing. The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure everyone is comfortable and having fun. Even if your package doesn’t include food or drinks, they offer a menu with items available for purchase. The food was tasty and different from the usual American expectations. The chicken tenders, for example, are real pieces of seasoned, breaded chicken—not processed strips—and they’re served with delicious batata fries instead of regular French fries. We also tried the BBQ chicken, which was flavorful and came with rice, coleslaw, and sweet plantains—very satisfying! One of the highlights was the beach show and bartender performance. They did a fun round of shots for everyone and showed off some cool mixology skills. This time, our chaperone from the boat was Sacha, who was friendly and made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re visiting Jamaica!
Aracel A — Google review
Khaleisha was amazing! She did great on education about Jamaica on our way up! She was on top of her game with serving us and made sure we were okay and comfortable the entire time. We would recommend this to anyone. It’s worth the $$!!

Burwood Public Beach is a hidden gem that offers a delightful escape for both locals and tourists. This beautifully redeveloped beach features soft white sands, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing and relaxation. Families will appreciate the children's play area, while adults can enjoy shady seating options and convenient amenities like showers and restrooms. The beach is known for its serene atmosphere, often less crowded than private resort beaches, allowing visitors to truly unwind.
JMD 750 USD 5 Entry fee for non-residents. JMD 700 for sunbed hire. Lovely beach, white sand and clean. Great for swimming, especially if you have smaller children as the water is pretty shallow. There is a lifeguard, changing rooms are monitored and kept pretty clean. A charming little place, so add it to your activity list when you're in or passing through Trelawny.

Public beach. Free for locals with ID. Water is clean and basically shallow for over 30 metres so great for the kids. Life guards are present as well. Highly recommend.

Awesome public beach, has some amenities, a working restroom, a gazebo, beautiful beach, locals are free, there is a small chance for tourists but still good for a day out, very clean, volleyball net present, there was beach football being played, parking available, vendors on the outside, good location. You'll enjoy it!

Visitors are often attended to by friendly staff who provide excellent service, ensuring the area remains clean and well-maintained. With plenty of sun beds available, Blue Waters Beach Club offers visitors the ideal opportunity to enjoy a peaceful day by the sea.
Picked up a taxi minibus from the port & this beach club recommended.$20 per person round trip from port, agreed a pick up time & Rose, taxi driver was there as arranged. $10pp entrance including beach chairs & shade. Bucket of 4 beers $20. Free WiFi, clean restrooms, lovely beach, friendly staff, accepts Apple Pay, what more could you ask for!

The club's entrance fee is \$20. It provides a lively atmosphere, high-quality music, and a pristine sandy beach. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available. We highly recommend trying the Jersey chicken.

We joined the RC cruise excursion ‘Blue Water Beach Transfer’ and found the staff to be pleasant. The food was not only delicious but also reasonably priced. I wish we can stay longer but it was cut short due to the excursions 3 hour limit. Do your research on how to get here so you don’t rely on the excursion.

10/10 Highly Recommend coming to the Blue Waters Beach Club if you have the opportunity. We came as part of a cruise excursion this past week and it did not disappoint. The locals are amazing to say the least. Everyone we met was so welcoming and friendly. The food and drinks were fabulous. The view and the beach were gorgeous. Photos do not come close to showing the beauty I saw in person. Money well spent and I have no complaints. I did not want to leave and will definitely visit again in the future God willing. I did not take a lot of photos as I wanted to be present and enjoy the day.

Upon arrival, you're a bit skeptical about what you're entering. Then, you step into the hidden gem that is Blue Waters Beach Club. It's absolutely beautiful and the staff are so friendly. The cost of admission is very affordable. They have an assortment of drinks and food on the menu. Our attendant, Marj, was so pleasant to speak with and to order from. They accept cash, credit, and debit. It's definitely a 5 out of 5 for this piece of heaven.
K. W — Google review
Excellent space for a large group of persons. The fact that food could be brought unto the property is a great benefit. The property has sufficient cabanas, lounge chairs and umbrellas, however the bathroom facilities were not consistently kept cleaned. The depth of the water surprised persons as it is very shallow, even when the rope boundary is passed.
Abigail W — Google review
Traveled here from RC cruise excursion with my family last week. I would recommend filtering and looking at the photos and reviews as the negative ones are spot on. The beach is overcrowded and not family friendly. I have attached true views from the cabanas that are $80 and of the ocean, the dark areas are seaweed patches, the sand goes from 2ft of water to 5 and back again. While the people are friendly and the food local it is just not as described on their site or by the cruise. It you are looking for watered down drinks and overcrowding then you might enjoy this but it is certainly not relaxing. The line to get back to the ship started an hour in to the four hour excursion, I think that speaks for itself.
Rebecca Y — Google review
Blue Water Beach in Jamaica is absolutely amazing! 🏖️ The pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters are like something out of a dream. 😍🌊 You'll feel like you're in a tropical paradise. The beach is well-kept, and the surrounding greenery is lush and beautiful. 🌴🌺 You can enjoy sunbathing, swimming, and snorkelling to your heart's content. 🏊‍♂️🌞 And don't forget to try the mouthwatering jerk chicken and sip on fresh coconut water from local vendors. 🍗🥥 The only downside is that it can get a bit crowded during peak tourist seasons, but the sheer beauty of the place more than makes up for it. Whether you're travelling solo or with family, Blue Water Beach is a must-visit destination for a taste of Caribbean paradise. 🌞🌴🏄‍♀️

Luminous Lagoon Glistening Waters is a must-visit in Jamaica, offering boat and swimming tours in a bioluminescent bay with a rich history tied to the Jamaican sugar trade. The glowing waters are caused by microorganisms called dinoflagellates, creating a rare and mesmerizing natural phenomenon where the Martha Brae river meets the ocean.
Really wonder place to visit, you are given a warm welcome upon arrival. You are offered welcome drinks and have the opportunity to choose between rum punch or fruit punch for those who don’t drink alcoholic beverages. The boarding process is easy, you are given a safety jacket, you learn about lagoon and what makes it glow. You get the chance to swim and take pictures which are absolutely beautiful.
Truly S — Google review
The Luminous Lagoon tour was a really cool experience and definitely something worth seeing. The water actually glows when you move through it, which is wild to witness in person. It’s one of those things you kind of have to see to believe. That being said, the venue itself was pretty average—nothing too special. The staff were friendly and did their best to keep everyone entertained while we waited for the tour to start, but it did feel a bit like they were just filling time. Once we got out on the water, though, it was absolutely worth it. Watching the water light up around us was really unique, and it made for some awesome pictures and memories. If you’re in the area, I’d say it’s definitely worth checking out. It’s not an all-night event, but it’s a very cool and interesting place to visit.
Subilak K — Google review
Beautiful sunset. I had had the fried chicken with rice and peas at their restaurant. The fish soup was delicious and it came with my meal. The bread was perfectly warm, for the butter to melt. Before going on the tour, they had some dancers perform on stage. They were very entertaining! We booked the Luminous Lagoon tour and got to see some bioluminescence and even swam in the water! They provide life jackets in case you don’t swim well. Captain Dave was funny and made sure that we all got there and back safely.
Reinelle A — Google review
The water actually glows when you move through it, which is amazing to witness in person. Before visiting, I’d heard stories about it, but experiencing it firsthand was almost surreal. The venue itself was okay—nothing fancy or special. The staff did their best to keep us entertained with a dance show while we waited for the boat. Once we got out on the water, though, the wait was absolutely worth it. Watching the lagoon light up around us as we swam was incredible! The water is shallow, no more than 4 feet, so you can literally stand in it. The captain and crew were very friendly and informative, and life jackets were provided for those who couldn’t swim. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
Edwin A — Google review
A very short bus ride away from the RIU Aquarelle and Royalton. I recommend this excursion if you are nearby. We went as a large group, which resulted in having our own boat. We were welcomed with a rum punch and proceeded to watch the sunset as we waited to embark on our boat ride. The captain and crew entertained us with the history and facts of what makes the lagoon luminous, along with their funny stories, jokes, and marital advice. The water is colder than you might expect. On our return we watched the fire show, which was good.
Tony M — Google review
There are only four places in the world where you can do this. We were staying at the Riu Aquarelle and it is 5 minutes from there. So we had to go. Our guides on the boat were awesome and really funny. Don't be cheap, if you enjoy it then tip them. It's just an amazing experience. When we got back off the boat, they had the fire eating show.
James J — Google review
Very magical and unique experience close to mobay. Similar to one in Puerto Rico, but with much less travel and bonus fire show. And they take you to out on the boat, so no strenuous activity, either. You absolutely have to wear water shoes for this activity as it's shallow enough for you to walk in this depth. And no, you don't need to know how to swim to go on this excursion.
Lana D — Google review
Absolutely worth it! So excited I finally got to see the bioluminescent algae, and actually swim in it. Included is a free drink and a fire show before the boat goes out. I'm glad I bought my ticket directly and got my own transportation from the hotel, instead of going through a tour group... So much cheaper. Also, yes you're going to wait until it gets dark. For us that was over an hour--it depends on what time you get there. But either way it was still worth it

When you find yourself in Falmouth, make sure to explore the charming Water Square, a historic site that dates back to 1798. This square is home to a stone reservoir that once provided running water to Jamaica before it reached New York City! As you stroll through this vibrant area, you'll be captivated by its colonial architecture and lively atmosphere. Although the fountain is currently undergoing renovations, there's still plenty of excitement around Water Square with shops and local eateries nearby.

I like to see the local culture and local architecture, but this was the first place where I left the port that I actually felt unsafe. Some creep was following us, and then followed us again. I think he had the intention of robbing us, but decided against it when they were two of us. Definitely makes me weary of venturing out of the cruise ports again if not on a tour. Too bad as I’m sure the local town would appreciate tourists and our dollars.

Pepper's Jerk Center is a renowned restaurant in Falmouth, Jamaica, known for its authentic Jamaican jerked chicken and pork. The dishes are perfectly spiced, crispy, and bursting with flavor. It is highly praised by visitors and ranks among the top ten restaurants in Falmouth on TripAdvisor. As a port town, Falmouth offers creative seafood dishes like lobster stew and grilled salt-fish.
Our family of 7 ate here a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Someone we had met recommended it. The food was amazing. My son ordered the fried fish, whole fish btw. He loved it. And we also ordered the BBQ wings, these were amazing! We also had the jerk chicken and rice and a pasta dish. We were not disappointed in anything.

We walked over from the cruise ship. The service was great and the food was great! It was a bit pricey for the amount of food I got but it was worth it for the experience. Our name is Peppers so we just HAD to go eat there. Smiles!

Visited the one In Montego Bay the service is excellent but the oxtail we paid $28 for was pricey and they weren’t tender, think they raise the pricea for tourists, it was a very small portion I was so disappointed this restaurant was recommended and back home it’s cheaper and tender!!!
Angela K — Google review
This place is expensive, paid $25 for oxtails which is outrageous and the portion size was small. It took well over an hour to get our food but I will say it was good. They offered karaoke which was fun. I’d look for food elsewhere. If you want cheaper jerk chicken, try Pork Pit — It was delicious!!

Tourist restaurant ,within walking distance of the cruise terminal. the food is ok but very expensive think Manhattan not third world. Two frozen drinks and two sodas $44. I there were no locals except those that were paid guides I think that there is a large kickback to the guides as a table with no guide paid 20 for jerk chicken , a beer and a soda. The location seemed safe

Rock Wharf Luminous Lagoon is a stunning natural wonder in Jamaica, known for its mesmerizing glow caused by tiny organisms called Pyridium bahamense. These unicellular dinoflagellates emit a radiant light when the water is disturbed, creating a magical spectacle after dark. The lagoon offers guided tours through Glistening Waters Restaurant & Marina and Fisherman's Inn, allowing visitors to witness this enchanting phenomenon up close.
This was a great experience. The water is warm, seriously not cold at all and obviously went in at night around 830/9pm. It was lovely. My phone couldn't capture the cool blue glow but the memories, adventure, and feeling was so amazing. Definitely a unique experience. You feel like Doctor Manhattan
Leo R — Google review
This is a very fun and unique excursion. It's 1 of 4 year round bioluminescent lagoons in the world! The lagoon itself is only about 6ft deep. The river and the ocean meet in this lagoon and you can feel the mixing of fresh and saltwater as you swim around. As soon as the boats start moving you can see the bioluminescent, it looks like a blue highlighter is around everything that moves. Definitely recommend to experience it in person, the pictures won't truly capture this amazing natural phenomenon. The tour guides and locals at the dock were very friendly and knowledgeable. You're out in the lagoon for about an hour and it's worth the trip.

Most Magical experience of our Trip to Jamaica 🇯🇲. When we first took off, you could see the boats, " other fellow tourists." I thought the boats had lights on the bottom & is what made the water glow. I WAS WRONG. Your guide will explain that you have to Disturb the water to make the Algae light up. Out of 4 places in the world, this one spot that will glow All Year Around.!!! As long as the weather will allow it. Asked what does it look like on the rain.? The entire area glows for 10 - 15 minutes before the water gets cool enough the algae drops to warmer water.! #amustseeforyourself #adventureillneverforget

We signed up for this tour at our resort. We started the night with some Chicken and rice. The food was really good! We had a couple drinks and took off on the boat. The water was crazy it was hard to get good pictures so you’ll just have to see for yourself. They ended our tour with a fire performance which was also amazing.
