Ruffey Lake Park, spanning 68 hectares in Doncaster and Templestowe suburbs, offers a diverse natural landscape with waterways, wetlands, and bushland. The park features three designated picnic areas equipped with electric barbecues, large shelters, playgrounds, toilets, and ample parking. Visitors can explore the Victoria Street playground's adventurous amenities like a flying fox and rock-climbing facilities.
Great place to relax, exercise and clear the mind. Heaps of open space without too many people. Rolling hills of nature with great views. Easy to get in 10k worth of steps while enjoying the fresh air. Public water fountains to rehydrate. Multiple different playgrounds for kids, free bbq facilities and toilets. Good for family lunches and kids birthday parties and gatherings.

Manningham's favourite all-in-one park has some new features including lakeside boardwalk, 100 stone steps, public sculpture (EllipseCircleView by Natasha Johns-Messenger), Ninja warrior course, disc golf, etc. From easy strolls to more challenging trails, there is always a trail that suits any age. Walking the full loop is about 7.1km with 103m elevation. Massive playgrounds and BBQ facilities are spread across the park. Magnificent lake scenery offers perfect photo spots.

Love this place ❤️ It’s good to bring kids and grandkids to the playground - there are 2 reasonably-sized play area. Walking by the lake is beautiful 🤩 and the outdoor gym is really cool 👍

Nature & Parks
Birrarung Park is a delightful destination that offers a blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities. While the playground is currently fenced off, with only swings and a sandpit available due to damage, there are hopes for future upgrades. Recent clean-up efforts following the October '22 floods have revealed stunning views of the main billabong, which had been dry for years. Although the old wood-fired BBQs have been removed without replacements yet, visitors can enjoy new drinking fountains throughout the park.
A perfect place to relax with family and friends for a picnic or calm peaceful relaxing evening or walk this park is a 10
Enrico C — Google review
My absolute favorite little stop-in place. Lovely walks and cute ducks. They tore down the old play equipment and fire puts and didn't replace either which is sad. Still, it has good covered areas and spaces for a picnic.
Gabe E — Google review
The playground is currently fenced off aside from the swings and sandpit due to damage, hopefully an upgrade is on the way. There's been some improvement lately with some long awaited clean-up following the October '22 floods and views of the main billabong opened up after being dry for many years. The old wood fired BBQs are gone but nothing has replaced them yet and there are some shiny new drinking fountains Enjoy the walks and wildlife.
Richard B — Google review
Nice enough place, there is a flat and accessible sealed walking track, met someone with a walker there. There are toilets, shade and picnic tables. The park was quiet when I was there (mid morning on a weekend).
Ruth H — Google review
It's a good place to be with your family. Nice and open with lots of parking space. You have BBQ area and nice dining area to enjoy a sunny day with good food. Kids got lots of area to play and few fun games are there. I love visiting this place whenever I get a chance with my family. Maintenance is really good and it’s always nice and clean.
Bhagesh C — Google review
This place is very nice because it has really excellent native trees there in a unique environmental setting. There are cycling trails available around the park. Before, we used to go to Birrarung Park by car and I used to cycle there a lot. Nowadays, When I take this park occasionally by bike, it took approximately 10 minutes to get there. However, it can be improved when there are cycling trails that go back home.

Had luncheon here for the first time, today.. (takeaway Lamb gyros pack).. Didn't venture farther than the top rung.. Nice trees and calming nature. Will venture further down track next time, maybe.. Out of my realm. City life x

Heide Museum of Modern Art, nestled in the outer-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, is a unique and thriving institution. Established in 1981 on a former dairy farm, it boasts three galleries showcasing exhibitions by renowned contemporary Australian artists. The museum's 16-acre heritage-listed gardens feature imaginative sculptures and offer a picturesque setting for visitors to explore.
Had a beautiful experience with my baby attending the Heide Baby Class. The museum itself is a hidden gem. Lovely sculptures and landscaping set atop a hill. The story of Sunday and her lover and how the museum came to be was particularly enchanting, and to experience what it is today was captivating. The tour guides were highly engaging for both bub and parents. We learnt so much about the location, art origins and garden. The cafe has an amazing selection of brunch and lunch options. Coffee was delicious. Such a peaceful place. We look forward to visiting again soon ⭐
Zaadie — Google review
Really great place. Quiet and secretive location. A beautiful modern art outdoor sculpture park with a variety of different flora and fauna with a lake nearby that has Wood Ducks! ❤️ Heide Cafe next door for a quick coffee and dessert with lovely flat walking trails. Abundant trees surround this park, each having their own character. Smaller children may be bored, but a really lovely place for a picnic, a family day out, a romantic walk or even if you're looking to get your nature dose, highly recommend this entire park!
Cemre O — Google review
Nice location . Great history behind it. There is a nice cafe there but it was busy so we did not go, it looks like they serve nice foods and coffees. Nice park to walk around.
KABAOTTO E — Google review
One of the best galleries in Australia and an important part of Melbourne’s creative history. The grounds are worth a walk - there’s a range of interesting, quirky sculptures and multiple buildings that are worth a look. It’s ticketed - $27 for adults as of September 2025 - and is well worth a visit.
Toby H — Google review
This place is a treasure - the gardens and the history are definitely worth a visit. I recently visited for Manray and Max Dupain exhibition and was lucky to get onto guided tour which was great. Confess I was disappointed with the catering at the venue which was overpriced and not that good (second time now). Maybe grab a coffee - bring your own picnic lunch and enjoy it in the gardens
Catherine J — Google review
Well presented art invites exploration of the historic homes. New purpose built gallery space is spacious. Sunday Reed’s garden is lovely. Only three toilet cubicles - might be another in restaurant- but really lovely hand soap.

Discovered this museum just by riding along the Yarra and of course I decided to visit it. The building itself is very good, a brutalist form surrounded by a very nice sculpture park. I did not have much time but I wandered around the galleries, that had very interesting and captivating artworks, many of them regarding aboriginal lives. Definitely recommended!

Nature & Parks
Westerfolds Park, located in Melbourne's northeast, is a 120-hectare park offering a variety of activities for visitors. The park features walking and cycling trails along the Yarra River, as well as opportunities for canoeing. Families can enjoy picnics in designated areas and children can play at the playground. The park also offers bush play experiences such as the Home Trail, which introduces young adventurers to bushwalking and animal habitats.
Westerfolds Park is part of an Aboriginal cultural landscape in the traditional Country of the Wurundjeri Peoples. Discover the urban parklands of Westerfolds Park on the banks of the Yarra River. One of Melbourne’s most popular urban open spaces, that offers over 120 hectares of recreational and environmental parkland perfect for picnicking, cycling, canoeing, jogging and walking. Try some wildlife spotting and birdwatching as you explore the grassy woodlands and the Main Yarra Trail that runs through this park. The Westerfolds Loop Track (4.8km, 1.5 hours circuit) is a gentle walk through the parklands, past the old manor, woodlands and native shrublands. Look out for ancient Red Gums, as well as kangaroos and wombats grazing in the open areas in the early morning.
Hideo K — Google review
Apart from this park being a great place for a picnic day or just some well defined walking tracks, this park boasts of having great chances of seeing a kangaroo particularly if you are visiting Australia for the first time. To add to it, one can access this place via public transport particularly if you reside in Melbourne CBD. Just hop on to 905 bus and after 50 minutes, you can see kangaroos in plenty. This place is also great for birdwatchers. I have been here multiple times and have enjoyed myself thoroughly. There are BBQ points, public toilets and car parking areas too. Dont miss this place if you want to see kangaroos!
Manini D — Google review
Visited the park at the end of the Australian winter (last week of August) mainly to see kangaroos for the first time, and the experience exceeded all expectations. Even on a cloudy and chilly day, I spotted several kangaroo mobs right by the parking lot, just relaxing on the grass. The fact that there are no barriers or restrictions was incredible — you can get surprisingly close, which made for amazing photos and a real “bucket list” moment. Highly recommend the visit. As long as you respect the animals and their space, the experience will be truly unforgettable.
Torquato G — Google review
Sprawling park in the bushlands of Doncaster/ Templestowe. Once you enter the park you find yourself hidden from the hustle and bustle outside the gates of Fitzsimons Lane. The highlight is spotting the abundance of mob of kangaroos that can be seen on the grounds of Westerfolds Park. The walking trails are clean and well paved, and the sounds of the rushing river is comforting.
Normandy J — Google review
The park is clean, peaceful and well-maintained. There are plenty of picnic areas and open green spaces to chill with friends or family. The Yarra River views are also really nice. Parking is easy and there’s lots of space.
Batuhan ( — Google review
Easy to get in the park that atmosphere is so good, green, birds, kangaroos. Trail is excellent and you can see a lot of wildlife there. Toilet, chairs are great but a little bit dirty and less as I excepted .
Wesley G — Google review
Westerfolds Park is such a nice and peaceful place to go for a walk. The park is really clean, dog-friendly, and has bike tracks too, which is great if you’re riding. There’s heaps of parking and even a picnic area if you want to hang out with friends or family. One of the best parts is the viewpoint over the Yarra River. And you can even spot kangaroos hopping around in the early morning or late arvo. Always a fun surprise.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Petty’s Orchard for my daughter’s event, and I couldn’t be more impressed. The food and coffee are truly fantastic, perfectly complementing the charming, old-fashioned, and stylish coffee shop. The local customers add a unique and welcoming vibe that makes the place feel like a community hub. I am especially grateful to the team for their support and help in making my daughter’s event a success. I look forward to spending more time here and soaking in the wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended!

What an amazing find! Get down here! How is something this beautiful and rural stuck right in the middle of the suburbs?! Organic farm store with new season apples and pears, plus local organic produce. Heritage buildings, over 200 apple varieties, a pretty cafe with great coffee (serving to 5pm!!!). They've got homemade cakes, Casper's pies and pastries, smoothies, juices, and organic vegan icy poles. Take a 5 minute stroll to the river, or the kids can play on the playground. Plenty of parking

Always friendly and the food is wonderful. Just a pity they use take away cups and lids. Could they have a landfill bin and a recyclable bin and ask visitors to separate their rubbish?
Richard K — Google review
Great friendly staff, excellent coffee and cakes/slices. Friendly magpies. Very rustic old cool rooms among heritage apple orchards. Short stroll to Yarra River. Recommend this for coffee and experience.
Tony E — Google review
What a discovery today. In the wild’s of Templestowe far far away, their lurks an Apple Orchard, a rather popular café and organic fruit store here at Perry’s Orchard. The orchard is leased out to a local operator and the sign says it’s maintained by local volunteers. The staff are helpful and the choices vary from home cooked - I was told ‘the lady who does the baking’ - pies and sausage rolls to quite amazing vegan and vegetarian slices, tarts quiches and cakes? Stars of our show? Probably the spinach and zucchini cake that looked like a carrot cake with the same icing walnuts and raisins on top. What an amazing flavour, spiced with nutmeg cinnamon. Absolutely yum! Next, the caramellised onion tart and vegetarian tart with beetroot was a hit. And we tried their vegetarian lasagna it was delicious strong tomato base flavor. The late coffee was strong and the English breakfast tea was good. They have a wide variety of milk and soy drinks as well as sweet cakes and tarts. Wrapped around the serving counter is an organic fruit and vegetable 🥦 display. Prices are expensive here, as you might expect? Outside the is a small children’s play area and down the lawn a bit is a pergola for that personal café experience away from the crowd. It’s winter so no blush or fruit on the apple trees, still there some lemons on the trees next to the café. Petty’s seems to be a popular cyclist’s stop over and fun for all ages. It’s five minutes away from the Templestowe branch of Aumann’s nursery so a double garden experience is very doable. We enjoyed this sojourn. Not so much the drive back to Mernda via the C746 squiggly road though 🫢

Took a pitstop here after a morning walk along Yarra River. Ordered a coffee and small snack. Coffee was not bad, but the oat milk had a sweet after taste which I didn’t like. The view in this cafe was great. Oh almost forgot, the staff was lovely. Highly recommended for healing your spirit 😊

I ordered a Junior Whopper with added bacon and spicy sauce around 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 8th. Even before taking a bite, I was already upset. The fries were scattered all over the inside of the bag, the burger wrapper had holes in it, and the sauce was leaking out. What the hell. The bacon wasn’t even cooked properly—it was just thrown in. The sauce wasn’t inside the burger but smeared all over the side in a messy way. I assume they initially missed my extra requests and only realized it later, then just shoved in the sauce carelessly. But the worst part? They didn’t even bother cooking the bacon properly. Who made this? Maybe it was the short girl working at the counter—I don’t know if it was her, but this was a seriously awful experience. I need immediate action on this. I’m officially requesting a refund.

Today is the second day I visited there . This is about small cappuccino, I ordered small cappuccino with three sugar. But it’s really bad no milky taste no frothy . Its just like only coffee tastes . Think we get this as a morning fresh but its worse 🤮

The slowest HJ I ever been to. They beat the timer by asking drive through customers to wait outside so that their wait time counter won’t affect the store performance while in fact customers wait for over 15 min for their orders by going drive through, even worse in store. With all the construction workers for the link between freeway, they are busy but didn’t think to put more staffs for peak period. While writing this review, I’m waiting with 4 different cars for their orders.

My whopper burger was made up of like, 8 patties... all slammed together with cheese. Was a feral tasting burger. If you guys don't have the correct patties, definitely check with the customer first. Could barely eat it.
Tabitha — Google review
We waited over 20 minutes without our order being acknowledged, thinking we could go inside and pay for takeaway. Unfortunately, it wasn’t clear that this location is drive-through only. During this time, all drive-through customers were served promptly. If dine-in or walk-in service isn't available, it should be clearly stated to avoid confusion—especially for those arriving on foot. To make matters worse, the hot chocolate we finally received was cold. Disappointing experience overall. I recommend visiting another Hungry Jack’s, as the management here seemed disorganised.
Monika P — Google review
We ordered ‘no salt’ chips, but Hungry Jacks gave us the most salty chips we have ever had. 😡
Normia L — Google review
Well, someone was smoking vapes inside of your restaurant and told your staff but didn't do anything but let him keep smoking. Had to wait around 20 min to get the burgers but drinks were already been filled 15 min ago and requested to refill the drinks but just to fill up little bit more from the original drinks. No greeting, no words to me apart from calling my name. Very nice place and I now do understand why your stores are getting less and less.

Rajbhog Indian Restaurants offers a delightful culinary experience that transports you straight to the heart of India. Nestled in a cozy, stone-lined setting with comfortable banquette seating, this eatery is perfect for enjoying authentic Indian meals alongside an impressive selection of imported beers. Diners rave about the rich flavors and tender dishes, particularly highlighting favorites like lamb chops and veg madras. The attentive staff are well-versed in the menu, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and informed about their choices.
Ordered on Uber Eats tonight. To my delight, the food was absolutely delicious from here. Faultless flavours, decent portions, well presented. I had the mixed platter which was excellent. Just lovely tandoori meats, the chop being a particular highlight. The salad that accompanied the mixed platter comes in a metal lined bag but it was still excellent as the ingredients were as fresh as a daisy. I had never had rajma masala before but gosh it’s a good dish. It packs a really good flavour punch - I loved the heat - and it’s just so delicious. I love a good Kashmiri naan too and the one here is very good and it’s a decent serve. This is about as good as takeaway Indian gets IMO especially as the food was delivered warm to hot, so really well done by the Uber driver. Bravo. This was a terrific experience. I will definitely order from here again 👏👏👏

"Absolutely loved the food and service at Rajbhog. The flavours were rich and authentic, and the service was top-notch. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, as we dined in last night. Highly recommend the our favourite lamb chops and veg madras - it was flavourful and tender. The ambiance was cozy and intimate, perfect for a night out with friends or family. Can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious Indian cuisine!" 5/5 stars.

Im quite disappointed to be having to write this review as we have came here a couple times before and haven’t really noticed this issue before, me and my family had came here to eat after having had a long day out we get there and are seated and we noticed that everyone had papadum yet even after been having seated for almost 20 minutes we weren’t served any while a group of people who had arrived after us were served instantly. I decided to brush that off assuming they must have just been very busy and low on staff but we noticed people who arrived after us had already gotten there order taken while we waited for a staff member to come take ours for 25 minutes and during this 25 minutes staff were out and serving other people. After that while we were ordering the tomato soup would be extremely spicy and recommend to order something else we asked for it to be mild and she said it would still most likely be spicy and to just order one almost as if she was trying to get us to order something else so she wouldn’t have to make it . After that we got served out soup which supposedly was “very spicy “(it was in-fact extremely mild) we waited for out mains and saw people whom had arrived after us to have been served there food before us and not trying to compare to much but it was definitely clear that we were getting treated unfairly. After that out mains arrived and we were waiting for out salted lassi we got told that the salted lassi would take longer to make but being completely honest the salted lassi can’t possibly be taking longer to make than the mains.almost being finished with our mains we still hadn’t been served our side dish of salad which should clearly accompany the mains . The food was not the worst but then again not the best but all i know is it definitely wasn’t worth the service I don’t want to write to much so i will leave it at this but i truly am disappointed with the service and hope they would improve because it was completely unacceptable. Edit: thank you to the owner for reaching out and explaining the situation to my family and i understand where they were coming from the restaurant is actually quite nice i did enjoy the food i just hope the service could slightly be improved but knowing now that the staff were new hires its more understanding how it was since the restaurant was quite packed im sure if we had came on a less busy day we would have been treated better but it you decide to go the food was very nice.

During a recent visit, I savored the pumpkin chicken salad, which was wonderfully balanced with tender chicken and moist couscous, complemented by flavorful seeds and fruits. The pumpkin added just the right touch without losing its integrity even after being taken away. My friend enjoyed the ginger porridge loaded with fresh fruit, while I also tried their fantastic coffee.
Came to Billy’s Lounge with my mum this week mid-shopping to have a little coffee/brunch. My mum ordered the corn fritters on my behalf and requested for this to be less oily as I had just come out of a gallbladder surgery last week. Staff (manager? Should’ve asked for his name!) was incredibly understanding and went above and beyond to make sure my fritters were made pan fried with less oil instead of deep fried like usual, I even got a lil bowl of cheese courtesy of the chef. I felt unexpectedly spoilt and the meal was delicious, especially after having to stay on a low-fat diet all month. Thank you for the attentiveness and empathy 😊

Pumpkin chicken salad was amazing. Just the right amount of chicken, the cous cous was perfectly moist and had enough seeds/fruits to give it a nice flavour, and the pumpkin was well proportioned and still had good integrity even though I got it take away and didn't have a chance to eat it for nearly an hour. Fetta was a nice touch as well. Pumpkin chicken risotto was also great, and my friend had the ginger porridge with a great amount of fruit. Coffee was very good. The whole Cafe was busy, staff were friendly. But the food was a standout

We had breakfast Saturday morning, as I was still hungry I ordered one additional slice of gluten free bread. Hope you're sitting down while reading this... $9! NINE DOLLARS! That was on its own, no additional condiments i.e butter etc. In context, 14 slices is normal for a gluten free loaf which costs $9-$12 in a supermarket. This cafe is onselling the same for $126. If that is not price gouging customers I don't know what is. No excuse or reason to be charging $9 for a slice of bread. None. Disgusting.

My daughter and I sat down to have lunch here today. The menu did state gluten free option and also LG (Low Gluten) I understand that there is always the possibility of cross contamination. I informed the waitress that I was Coeliac. I asked about the beef thai salad. The response I got we get the meat from outside is that ok. I said well if the meat is raw then cooked here it should be ok as long as you don't put gluten in it. Then she said I can put the sauce on the side. Is the sauce gluten free? Every question was a problem the kitchen had no idea at all. What would they do with people who are anaphylaxis ? You seriously need education in food allegeries and how to handle this. We had ordered but after all this we asked for a refund and walked out. Education please.

Ordered the steak sandwich and iced chocolate when catching up with friends for lunch yesterday. The steak sandwich was quite huge, buns were soft. For small eaters, would be advisable to share it with someone. Chips were freshly cooked and crispy. The iced chocolate on the other hand was a bit of a let down. For $7.5, it came in a narrow thin tall glass. Not much of chocolate sauce in it with a small scoop of ice cream. All I could taste was like a watery milkshake with a tinge of chocolate flavour only, hence I gave only 4 stars. Staff were friendly though and there was no public holiday surcharge yesterday.

It’s my first time being here. The price and quality of the food are good. I will recommend this cafe for brekkie & lunch. The service is also great. I love the coffee art! 😊

The dining experience at Tender Trap Restaurant was exceptional from the moment of arrival. The warm welcome and serene, upscale atmosphere created a relaxing ambiance. Chris and his attentive staff provided generous care, making diners feel like cherished friends. The culinary journey offered by the set menu was truly remarkable, with each course being exquisite. The combination of flavors and ingredients seamlessly complemented one another, resulting in a truly satisfying dining experience. Every bite expressed the evident love and dedication put into every dish.
Dined with friends, I had prawn tacos for entree, pork cutlet for main & finished with coconut pannacotta for dessert. I also had a margarita cocktail as my drink. All the food was well presented & super delicious with a great variety of flavours. Service friendly. Will definitely return to try other menu items. A lovely fine dining restaurant in the suburbs.

Tender Trap is a top notch fine diner in the suburbs. For starters we had the prawns tacos which are always divine, goats cheese mushroom tart which is too light on the goats cheese (thought this the first time we visited too. Add more goats cheese!), croquettes were juicy and flavoursome and the calamari was ok. Mains were steaks and lamb neck roulade and some sides. We came for a special occasion and advised this on reservation but no mention of it or candle on any of the desserts - it’s these little details that make the experience.

My dinner at Tender Trap was fantastic! The waiter provided exceptional service, being incredibly accommodating throughout. The balance between attentive service and allowing us space to savour our meal and conversation was spot-on. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious."l

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Warrandyte State Park, located near Melbourne, is a picturesque riverside park offering leafy trails and abundant wildlife, including kangaroos. The park features various walks, such as the 3.5 km Pound Bend River Walk leading to the historic Pound Bend Tunnel, which was created during gold mining activities in the area. The landscape is characterized by lightly wooded areas dominated by the winding Yarra River and bluish-green hills with Red Box foliage.
It's a really nice park if you're looking for something near Melbourne and is kind of accessible with public transport from the city with bus 906 and a bit of a walk from Warrandyte. You can experience the Australian Victorian bush with many native birds and walk along the Yarra River. A few nice tracks, some points are slightly difficult. The blue tongue bent and the black flat tracks are worth to experience.
Eugenio — Google review
We enjoyed walking in Warrandyte State Park. Luckily we saw a mother kangaroo with a joey and a wombat. That was definitely a highlight of the walk. It would be great if there are maps in the park otherwise it worths visit.
Chika — Google review
Nice place for a casual stroll to see the man made tunnel. Strange to see how much time and effort was spent to help logs float downstream. These days, the water flow is low, and you can rock hop with the kids across the stream.
Andrew H — Google review
My Lofty loop walk and can also do a shorter walk and go straight up the steep hill on your right as coming along the path. Can see rare birds, kangaroos, amazing views all around and Maroondah Valley. Definitely worth a visit for nature lovers and hikers. No public toilets or BBQ facilities at Lyon Road entrance.

Came here on Christmas day. The carpark to the river is a short walk to the actual river. There's not that many spaces with shade however there are lots of flat rocks like a jaggered cliff that you can sit on under the trees singularly. On the other side it's a flat area with no shade that you can do picnic. A tip would be to wear beach shoes with strap as thongs or slides will break or wear an old sneakers as there's heaps of sharp rocks in the water as well as mud and they hurt when you step on them in the water. Overall was a nice experience. It got really crowded after lunch and we left when it got too noisy. There's also no toilets or none that I saw.
P Y — Google review
On a personal mission to try to see as many reserves as possible. Really lovely place near the winding Yarra River. Serene bushwalks and great views. You can find nice secluded inlets along the river bank, which is handy if the muddy main entrance is not your thing. The water is bracing fresh, so it's ideal if you need to wake up or just need a hangover cure.

Warrandyte State Park - Jumping Creek Reserve is a hidden treasure for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. With an array of walking tracks that meander alongside the picturesque Yarra River, this park offers a refreshing escape into the great outdoors. While exploring, keep in mind that some areas can be slippery after rain, so it's wise to stay cautious, especially with little ones in tow.
Great bush walk, easy access with toilet near the car park. Unfortunately dog owners keep ignoring the no dog signs. There is an active wildlife here and dogs are not welcomed here. Not super difficult to comprehend that.
Rafael — Google review
Just to get out and enjoy the fresh air is great for anyone. They have many walking tracks available along the Yarra River. Be aware with very young children as it can get slippery in sections, especially after rain. The River height and flow can rise very quickly after heavy rains. Safety is your number one priority. Having said that there is a great deal of bird life around and other fauna such as Wombats and kangaroos in the area which is wonderful. In the spring you can veiw some beautiful native flora in bloom. Public toilets, tables and chairs and a map of the area and surrounds is available. The carpark isn't very big so l suggest travelling in one car with friends or family will make it easier for you. Go have a look and see what is on offer. You never know the young ones might just be fortunate to see a Wombats and Kookaburras.

Great bushwalk with plenty of parking, has a toilet and picnic tables as well. Lovely place to get in touch with nature as it is not too busy and the trails around the river go right up into the bushes. Fun time.
Nara L — Google review
This place is an absolute gem. If you’re looking for a bushwalk that doesn’t piss around, Warrandyte State Park delivers. The trails are pure magic – winding through rugged bushland, hugging the Yarra River, and serving up views that’ll knock your socks into next week.
Sam A — Google review
Fantastic place for a hike along the Yarra River. Upstream is easier going while the downstream hiking track is a bit more challenging in some sections.
Lyndon V — Google review
Warrandyte State Park was once well kept and inviting for picnics and short walks along the river. In recent years it has been in a state of decline around the main picnic area. Once you get away from the carpark area it improves a little, however, there is evidence everywhere of people toileting beside the paths which is pretty off-putting. Discarded beer bottles are a constant feature along the river trail.
Derek R — Google review
Nice place to hike. The initial 2km of the hike felt adventurest as the path was small so only acted as a guide on which way to go. Abit rocky now and then but overall fun place to hike
Jamie P — Google review
Lovely peaceful walk to blue tongue bend. Saw a king parrot, cockatoos, rosellas, lorikeets, fairy wrens and even a wombat just standing in the middle of the path. Undulating path that stays close to the river. Also saw a big red fox across the river.

Nestled just outside the picturesque Yarra Valley, Kellybrook Winery is a beloved destination for both locals and visitors alike. Known primarily for its exceptional ciders crafted using the traditional champagne method, this charming winery also offers a delightful selection of premium wines and craft beers. The welcoming cellar door invites guests to savor tastings while enjoying the serene surroundings of gardens and ancient oak trees.
Absolutely delightful ! The surroundings were beautiful as was the venue , fortunately we were blessed to be there on a warm , sunny Autumn Day ! Kellybrook is not a la carte dining but the offer delicious cheese boards , charcuterie boards and dips . The service was excellent , particularly by our young waiter . Highly recommended

My partner and I (and our golden retriever) visited Kellybrook this weekend. We drove for an hour to this winery, and it was worth it! We had a few of the hot plates, a wine tasting, and a cheese board. It was perfect, as we enjoy smaller, share plates. All of the food was delicious, especially the hot baked cheese. The staff were also really good. They were warm, friendly, knowledgable and so accommodating to our pet. The fire in the living room was also a nice feature to a really cold and wet afternoon. We will be back! Thanks for a great afternoon!

The wine tasting- so hard to choose which one I liked best. All the varieties are excellent. We were advised well by the cellar door ladies. The platters- also really delicious and generous servings.. We thoroughly enjoyed our birthday/hens day experience. And the garden.. An amazing old oak tree 👌🏻👌🏻

We booked a lunch for my partners 40th birthday at Kellybrook. We’ve lived in the area for a long time but had never visited before - I can’t believe we had missed this place for so long! Firstly, Jenny was extremely accommodating and responsive with my booking inquiry. We were seated up near the beautiful old oak tree - it was a bit of a distance from the actual venue but this was explained to us and we had no issues with the walk up and down (in fact, our children delighted in going up and down and playing the lawn games provided, too). The venue itself is beautiful , and our seating area was shady and private and the perfect setting for an afternoon with wine and cheese. We had the sharing feast platter menu - the bread and crackers kept getting refilled by the staff, the charcuterie board was delicious (the salmon a stand out!) and the cheeses and dessert board were exceptional. We were able to bring a cake for the birthday boy and the staff were all extremely helpful and super friendly. Already planning our next trip back! Food - YUM Drinks - delicious Venue/gardens - absolutely gorgeous.

We had a wonderful afternoon in the sun, under a canopy of gorgeous vines, enjoying a range of delicious wines. Leanna looked after us, she was so knowledgeable, friendly and warm. This was our first visit but it definitely won't be our last!!

Kellybrook was an absolute delight during our visit for the Shortest Lunch festival! The old oak tree from 1890 added a charming historical touch, and the live music on the balcony was enchanting. The beautiful dining room and outdoor seating overlooking the vineyard were perfect for relaxing. We loved learning about the three generations of the Kellybrook family involved in the winery. Their Traditional Method Blanc de Blanc was a standout. Despite being a smaller winery, it offers an intimate and welcoming atmosphere that stands out. A must-visit!

Lovely hampers of cheese and bread with a great selection of wine to try. Our dog was allowed to join us outside too which was great. Staff were very friendly and accomodating, and there's lovely gardens out the back, with a great seating area under a huge tree for larger groups. Ample car park spaces and definitely worth a visit!

Mount Lofty Wonga Park is a stunning bushland reserve located within the Warrandyte State Park, offering breathtaking views of the Yarra River and surrounding rolling hills. It's an idyllic place for a leisurely stroll, with accessible sections near the entrance and more challenging slopes further along the circuit. The longer loop trail provides opportunities to admire diverse flora, spot kangaroos, and enjoy the soothing sound of the river at rest stops.
Enjoyable and easy walk with a rewarding view at the top. For a bit more of a challenge, turn right at the 'no access for tanks' sign. You'll find a steep road just a few meters ahead.

Such a beautiful and peaceful spot for a weekend hike! The Mount Lofty trail in Wonga Park offers amazing views — mountains, water, and open skies. The hiking trail itself feels a bit random at times, but it’s easy and super relaxing, perfect for a casual walk rather than a serious trek. We even spotted kangaroos all over the hills, and while walking through a small forest area, we came across the famously funny square-shaped wombat poo — nature is wild 😄 We walked about 8km in circle, and it was a perfect way to unwind with the family. There’s even a little spot where you could do some gentle water drifting. Highly recommended for a calm, nature-filled day out — especially for families with kids!

Beautiful and peaceful Wurundjeri land - a perfect spot for wandering souls. The main trail is pretty easy for everyone to walk. You can sit by the riverbank and relax, listening to the river and the birds in the area. We switched to the narrow, muddy track next to the river in the middle and got back to the main trail once I had had enough adventure. We met a warin (Woiwurung word for wombat) on the way. It was a cutie patootie. We kept a respectful distance and took some photos. Please treat the habitat with respect and care ❤️

This is an excellent hiking experience. No shade which makes for incredible panoramic views. It’s hot and sticky lending the weather which then draws out the flies, so bring a hat water and good shoes Parking can be cumbersome, but y’all will figure it out, just be a considerate to the next person that’s always nice ;) big hugs everyone enjoy

Great walking track, even with someone who has a physical disability like myself, I wish it had more signs on which way goes back to the car park other than that, it's a moderately hard track, with a few spots you can sit down and rest if need be.

A beautiful place to wander and appreciate nature; flora and fauna. The tracks leading to the top of Mount Lofty are steep, although not difficult - merely testing. The views from the top are breathtaking, and one of very few places offering unobstructed 360 degree views. The golf club, wetlands and The Lodge look very inviting from the top of Mount Lofty. I highly recommend the walk for the sake of walking, having a picnic or merely capturing some stunning views.

Eltham War Memorial Park is a delightful destination situated at the highest point in Kangaroo Ground. It offers ample parking space, restroom facilities, and picnic tables for visitors to enjoy. The park features a prominent tower that can be easily ascended via a spiral staircase comprising just 59 steps. From the top, one can relish breathtaking 360-degree views encompassing Melbourne and the picturesque Dandenong Ranges.
I stumbled across this great lookout / memorial as I was driving past. It has a lovely stone built lookout tower, if you're game you can climb to the top and get some amazing views of the surrounding area. It has ANZAC memorial plaques for all the wars Australia has fought in. It has some seats, so you can sit and wait for others who wish to climb the tower. Over the other side there is a viewing deck. We went at sunset and saw a beautiful sunset. Also a nice surprise was there are lots of kangaroos just down in the valley at sunset that come hoping up the hill. I had an international guest from Korea with me and she was so excited to see the kangaroos and was also surprised to see the Korean War plaque at the memorial. So we both paid our respects 'thank you for your service - Lest we forget'
Anne L — Google review
It's a great place for sightseeing. There's a stone-build tower on the top of the hill, and if you walk to the top, you can enjoy the view of the surrounding area. There's a sitting area and carpark, too. We were there about midday, and quite unfortunately, we didn't get to see Kangaroos.
Aakash K — Google review
Great views from the tower, however views of the city from the lower lookout are blocked by trees. Toilets smelled really bad.

What a great hidden gem in outer Melbourne. There's a tower to climb in search of a fair maiden (sadly she was out maidening). There is also a pavilion showing the indigenous history of the area and some WW1 information. Defo worth a visit.

Stunning setting on the top of a hill over looking the beautiful valley below. I didnt venture up the tower but my husband did and he said the views were amazing. Located at this memorial is a rotunda with story boards of Australian indigenous culture.

Lovely place to visit on the highest point in Kangaroo Ground. Nice large carpark. Toilets. Picnic tables. There is the obvious tower that is easy to climb the spiral staircase - all of 59 steps. Views 360 degrees to Melbourne and back to the Dandenongs. Nice interpretation boards with relevant and interesting information. There is also a more modern viewing platform. Nicely made but could benefit from some further info as it has nice large display boards. I’ve come here a few times just for the serenity that embraces you in a quiet but stunning environment.
Debi S — Google review
This is one of the best lookout Towers in Melbourne, second only to Mt Dandenong. I only discovered this recently. It's awesome to climb the spiral staircase and walk around the top for a 360 view of the area north of Melbourne. Can see the city and the bay! There is a good Historical installation which is part of a wheelchair accessible lookout near the main memorial tower.

A perfect spot to have a walk and enjoy the sound of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the routine life. I also took a coffee from the nice cafe close to the place and enjoyed it while having a walk alongside the river. Make sure you leave the place as clean as you visit and respect to No-Alcohol rule there. It would also be interesting if you can spend some time to read the signs to know the area and its history more.

Nice place to sit down with the kids, dip your feet in the water and watch the birds. Can get really busy on the weekends. The play area has been done up, offers some really nice play equipment for the kids.

It’s a lovely picturesque walk along the track by the river. With plenty of seats and benches scattered along the track, where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful outlook. However it is a popular spot - particularly for people walking their dogs (often off leash) - but there is good car parking availability at various points. One of the nearby highlights for families with young kids is the awesome playground. Another feature of the location is “The Bakery” which is positioned close to the river - and a popular spot for pastries, cakes and coffee. We enjoyed a leisurely morning walking along the river track, later having a pastry from the Bakery and browsing in some of the local shops (including a book shop and antique shop). Overall, a very pleasant place for a relaxing half day visit.

Found this hidden gem, so many dogs, great playground for kids! Toilets need some cleaning but that would be my only negative opinion. Local cafes are very sweet as well

Very nice place to visit. There is a walking track side to the river to enjoy the greenery and nature. A large kids play area and picnic spots to enjoy with family and friends. My both the kids love this place and we usually visit in every 2-3 months. There are BBQ places and you can find few cafes near by
Nihar M — Google review
A beautiful trail which allows dogs both on and off leash depending on the section of the walk. The river can be fast flowing in places, so caution with dogs swimming, however there are a few sections which are more shallow and great for swimming with your dogs. Plenty of areas to stop on the trail for picnics, and BBQ facilities and toilets are available at certain places.

Yarra Flats Park spans 85 hectares of pastoral and heritage landscapes, featuring natural bushland, wetlands, and a variety of bird species. The park offers informal picnic areas and is popular for walking and cycling, with dog-friendly off-leash areas. Visitors may spot kangaroos if lucky but should be cautious of snakes in the summer. The park is largely undeveloped and has been affected by flooding, yet it remains enjoyable for nature enthusiasts.

Be careful of snakes in summer if you stay away from the water and keep to the path shouldn't be a problem. If you're lucky you might see some kangaroos!

A really nice and not too busy dog off lead park. Great to feel that you're a tiny bit off the beaten track.

Nestled in the heart of Warrandyte, Now and Not Yet is a vibrant social enterprise that reinvests all its profits into meaningful community initiatives. This charming café not only serves up delicious dishes made from fresh ingredients but also fosters a warm atmosphere where patrons are greeted with genuine smiles. Whether you're stopping by for a quick takeaway or enjoying a leisurely meal, the service remains consistently excellent.
Food was good! Some nice flavours. Toasty was well balanced without being too salty or sweet. Sourdough was fresh, not stale and rock hard. Fries weren’t as crispy as expected sadly but still alright.

Snazzy eatery on the main street. Yesterday’s muffins are a bargain at $3! Service is friendly & the crowd is well dressed.

First time at this cafe for our family of 4 and a fur child. We sat at their outdoor tables 10 mins before the cafe opened, but as we did we were greeted with a friendly smile. Impeccable service really. The coffee was perfect and a few little nibbles we got (croissants, ginger bread etc) were delicious. A delightful start to our day - thank you!
Nina S — Google review
First time here. Excellent service, and luckily, a table was free for 4 as it was quite busy. Whilst I wasn't hungry my partner enjoyed a very tasty Ruben sandwich... and, instead of eating half and taking half home, she gobbled up the lot as it was so yummy.
Ray M — Google review
Been few times. Coffee is consistent but food is NOT. I was left searching for chicken in my $15 pesto sandwich today and the $5 add on chips, the quantity was very disappointing. Hope this prompts a bit more quality control.
Aastha S — Google review
Looking for some healthy appetite dishes? Now and not yet is one of my favorite cafe at Warrandyte. Fresh ingredients and taste with friendly staff. The location is great, walking distance to the river walk.
David S — Google review
We waited over an hour for food whilst people who ordered after received theirs before us with no communication. When we got our food - the eggs were overcooked and my scrambled eggs had a black hair in them and were watery. I understand a Father’s Day rush but cutting down on quality shouldn’t be something that is done.
Julianna B — Google review
Baked goods we ordered were dried out and inedible. They did not say they were selling us day-old (tasted like week old) Coffee was lukewarm and crappy. Handed the baked goods back nicely saying they were not good but no acknowledgement of our dissatisfaction by staff. They just tossed them. Utter waste of $26!

Tao's Restaurant is a spacious establishment with tall ceilings that offers multi-course lunch and dinner menus featuring modern Japanese cuisine. Guests have raved about the amazing fine dining experience, particularly praising the 7-course meal for its flavorful journey. Despite the small portion sizes, diners found themselves completely satisfied after indulging in the extensive menu. The restaurant also offers a 2-hour 5-course lunch banquet with a variety of dishes and a pleasant ambiance conducive to quiet conversations.
Took my mum here for belated Christmas service! We had the 7 dinner course for $68 and we left feeling so full. Each course was delicately and deliciously made! The customer service was also of excellent standard and we felt very welcomed by the people there. Would definitely recommend Tao's to those who feel like a fancy dinner or some kind of celebration.

Had a 2-hour 5-course lunch banquet here with my friend. Set menu with varieties. Nice food. Great ambience. Patrons and staff talk quietly so if you are after a place where you can enjoy good food and conversation with a friend, this would be the place !

I had a pretty mixed experience here. The concept and food quality was well thought out and well delivered, but it was inconsistent in that some entrees/mains were done well while others not so much. The entree and pre main for the vegetarian selection was a bit disappointing. Pretty filling though, and a well rounded dining experience. The wait staff could use some training in general table service.
Kevin N — Google review
Nice venue with lovely ambience. Menue is limited to 2 set options and a weekday set with wine. Since we are not alcoholic drinkers, we opted for 7 course meal. The courses were nicely plated and presented but I feel the staff should be trained to do a bit more in terms of explaining each course and how they should be eaten. This gives a nice personalised experience that customers would value. The meals tasted OK.
Peter O — Google review
Had a set lunch here and very full. I love the soy bean ice cream, not too sweet. And the surroundings are very nice. Good for a family dinner.
Yuki Z — Google review
The fine dining here is absolutely amazing! The 7 course meal is a pure taste bud journey and makes you wonder how they manage to put so much flavour into each dish. I love my massive meals and although portion size is small, after the 7 courses i was totally stuffed. One of the best restaurants ever!
Troy D — Google review
Pretty great ambience and extraordinary service, food is delicate and touched to details, flavor is on point and we had a wonderful night there~ Will definitely be back for more. The soup and tempura prawn is just amazingly tasty!

Great spacious restaurant and fantastic food. Set menus offer great international cuisines like Japanese sashimi and bonito soup in tea pot or delicious Chinese Ginseng Chicken Soup, slow cooked belly pork and free delicious fried rice or French duck confit and creme brulee, incredible Greek lamb cutlets, Australian porterhouse with pepper sauce on sizzling plate, Australian salman, free appetisers and many other choices. Many of our birthday celebrations are held here with number of guests ranging from 10 to over 60. Highly recommended and a very clean environment with lots of parking. Ian (owner) and Steven (manager) are very good in what they do.

During our stay in Warrandyte, we discovered Saam Saii Thai, and it turned out to be a delightful find! From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome from the staff set a positive tone for our evening. They enthusiastically shared their specials, which made choosing easier. We opted for their recommended pork skewers—an authentic taste of Bangkok—and they were simply divine! The chicken stir-fry with basil and chili was another highlight; bursting with flavor and expertly cooked.
Absolutely delicious food (try the fishcake - you won’t regret it!) and warm and friendly service. Perfect balance of flavours, tons of perfectly cooked vegetables, and the food was not greasy or heavy at all. We asked for medium level of spice and it was actually medium - most places make it very mild in fear of overwhelming you. Thank you Sanon, we had a great night!
Ayontika P — Google review
We were really craving Thai while staying in Warrandyte and came across this place on Google — so glad we did! We were warmly welcomed by two lovely staff members who sat us down and spoke about the specials with such genuine passion. We went with their recommendation of the special pork skewers — they told us they’re found on every corner in Bangkok — and they were absolutely delicious. We also had a chicken stir-fry with basil and chili, which was full of flavour and beautifully cooked. The service was fantastic, the food was fresh and authentic, and the prices were very reasonable. We also noticed it’s BYO, so perfect if you’d like to bring your own wine, and they offer takeaway too. Highly recommend if you’re in the area — authentic, high-quality Thai food that really hits the spot!

Delicious thai food!! We order 5-6 dishes all of them are flavorful.

Have heard good things about this place, finally went! Went on Sunday night and there are only a few tables occupied. The front of the place isnt obvious, and the gardens probably need maintenance. At the front there is an area they could do outdoor dining but it wasnt used and looked a bit abandoned when we came. Inside is quite nice, with that warm lighting and decor that many Thai places do. Staff are friendly, menu has nice variety. We had their coconut rice, chicken pad thai and a special chef recommendation of this fried fish fillet with curry sauce. I like the appearance of the dishes, all looking nice and kinda regal. Pad thai is slightly sour compared to other places, but I like it, has good balanced amount of meat and noodles. Fish was nice and big, had good variety of veggies on it. Sauce is nice but slightly subtle compared to other red curries I have had. Overall very happy with dinner. You can have free refill or rice (steamed or coconut). Price is reasonable for quality and amount. Will come back again.

It was unanimous, our group of four all said this was the best Thai food we’ve ever had. The staff are super friendly, the setting is relaxed, just really nice. We had everything from the Winter Special, absolutely delicious and beautifully crafted food.

On the way back to Melbourne we got hungry and this place was recommended by Google. We really liked it. We ordered 2x Pad Thai, 1x Mussaman Curry and 1x Beef salad. The flavours were awesome and the quality also good. The salad had a bit too much meet, but still yummy and if you are a meet lover this is your option. Very polite staff. We would stop here again.

Nestled in the picturesque bushland of Warrandyte, the Warrandyte Stonehouse Cafe is a charming stone-walled eatery that offers a delightful Modern Australian breakfast and lunch experience. Recently, I had the pleasure of gathering with family and friends at this lovely spot, having fond memories from my previous visit. The menu boasts an all-day breakfast option, which is perfect for those leisurely brunch outings. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, enhanced by a cozy fire crackling away inside.
What a fabulous experience. Three of us had the all day breakfast. Beautifully presented with unusual combination of flavors and tastes. We've eaten all around Europe and this would top them all. On top of that exceptional customer service. The coffee was great as well....and I'm fussy. All of this in the most serene area of Warrandyte on a gorgeous sunny winter day.

We recently had a lovely get together with my brother and his partner and some family friends from our childhood. We chose the “Stonehouse” because we had such a great time when we went there last year. We were not disappointed with our choice. The food was excellent, very happy with the menu choices. Having an “all day breakfast” on the menu is a real plus, especially if you are going for brunch. The staff are very friendly and attentive and it was a nice friendly, comfortable atmosphere, especially with the fire burning. We will be back for sure.
Greg H — Google review
The food was excellent, but the service fell short. There was a significant wait for the food to arrive, and despite the staff not apologizing for the delay, the dish itself was impressive enough to make up for it. With a bit more attention and a sincere apology, the overall experience would have been greatly improved.

Great place. It was busy and a tad noisy when we walked in, so we took a seat on the balcony. Nothing was a problem. All day breakfast win! We both had the breaky burger in a brioche bun.Great price $17 & delicious! Good coffee. Excellent service (even though they were down a staff member) Bing bang boom we were fed and happy. 😃

Very nice place. I reckon we came here for breakfast during the covid lockdowns and this place now has a lovely vibe. Fresh, great menu options, gluten free options and caters for big groups. Coffee is also really good. I had poached chicken, that was literally delicious. Can’t wait to come back!

Currawong Bush Park offers a family-friendly nature reserve experience with its sculptures, trails, and a billabong. It's an ideal spot for kids to explore and learn about the natural world while enjoying the play spaces created by city landscapers, sculptors, and artists. Visitors may also have the chance to spot native birds, wombats, koalas, and kangaroos. The park features a 5km creek circuit with rough terrain as well as gravel and asphalt walkways.
This is a lovely little park, particularly if you'd like to see some kangaroos. When we arrived they were right by the carpark. Drive slowly and cautiously as they'll likely be near the road when you visit. There's a few BBQ stations and very clean toilets. The walking trails are good however on the trail they have different names to what is on the map at the start 😅.
Kati K — Google review
Lovely spot to see kangaroos "locally." There are some spots that are extremely steep, so wear good footwear and be prepared to slip a bit. If you're looking for the kangaroos, I spotted them just beyond the Conference & Environment Centre (2nd carpark). The signage isn't great, so you may end up wandering and not knowing where you're going, which can be part of the fun.
Carolyn H — Google review
A really lovely piece of bushland next to the suburbs. Plenty of kangaroos throughout, an abundance of birdlife and frogs calling. Nice tracks, some sections at single file and not too steep. The drive in to the second car park is a little narrow.
Anne C — Google review
Lovely park. Not crowded at all on weekdays. Dog friendly as long as they have a lead. I really enjoyed some me time at this park. Visit if you are around.

Wow what an awesome place to visit. There are lots of trails to walk here and plenty of things to see. There are lots of information boards and signs showing the history and wildlife information about the area. There is an abundance of bird life to see, and kangaroos wandering about the park. This place makes for a fun day out. There are picnic tables, bbqs and toilets for your convenience.
Glenn B — Google review
We came after lunch at Westfield Doncaster on a 20°C Saturday. Took the 5km creek circuit. Half of the walk is rough terrain, up and down with some steep climb. Single file walk. Other half consists of gravel walkways, and the return walk alongside Reynold road is asphalt. Time to listen to the birds, hear the sound of running water from the creek and check out native plants. There are seats peppered along the circuit. Occasionally pass by other walkers and bikers. A group of kangaroos lazing under the shade on the return leg of the walk. Excellent bush walk experience so near my suburb. Truly a hidden gem. I'll come again with a drink bottle.

It was a pleasure to visit Currawong Bush Park and it’s very beautiful all the way around. We saw a group of kangaroos and a wallaby as well as numerous birds in the area. Will definitely go again soon!

If you're looking for an experience beyond wine, Rob Dolan Wines is the perfect place. Owner Rob Dolan has turned his passion and skill into his own label, which offers an incredible experience that's hard to beat. Tasting can last up to two hours, giving you plenty of time to learn about wine and discuss its flavors with your host.
Perfect winery location to relax. Quiet place and pet friendly. Wine tasting and bottles are at a good price point. Staff were friendly and accommodating, with great knowledge of their products. We spent a great 2 hours in this place. Very close to Melbourne.

What a great little hide away. I didn't know this place existed until it popped up in my feed. It's well situated on the hill, and the lawn area and stoned area under the tree was perfect to deter the hot sun. There's no restaurant however, the platters looked good. the toasties were perfect with the relish on the side. Nice selection of wines and well priced to match. The staff were great, so relaxed, and well informed of what's what. Will definitely be going back again.

We have visited some of the classic wineries around Melbourne, but today we were looking for a winery close to Melbourne for a half-day experience. We were pleasantly surprised to discover Rob Dolan wines and enjoyed an exceptional morning here. Our host (Nick) immediately made us feel welcome and arranged a table facing the rolling fields. He described the history of the winery and excitedly spoke of the wines and the tasty offerings available to us. We enjoyed an impeccable platter coupled with a fresh glass of their wines. The price for this experience was very reasonable. After our little feast, we wandered the gardens and were able to capture some beautiful memories. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely winery close to Melbourne, with 5 star experience.

A great spot for a grazing lunch and vino at this winery. The charcuterie board was well prepared with a fair amount of quality cold cuts, terrines, cheese and accompaniments. The Chardonnay was refreshing, and their Blanc de Blanc and sparkling rose were delightful paired with a substantial grazing board. As most seating is outside (except if you have booked the function space indoors) you need to rug up and wear warm clothes during the colder months as the outdoor heaters don’t suffice. However during the warmer months it’s perfect. Service generally was good, they did however bring out some items late to our table.

Was looking online for a dog friendly winery around Melbourne and came across Rob Dolan Winery. It didn’t disappoint. Plus they had a vegan platter for me to enjoy. My family had the grazing platter and they thought it was very generous.

Beautiful place to enjoy some yarra valley wine at the start or end of your trip. Gorgeous scenery, plenty of tables to sit and enjoy and cheese boards with cheese made locally on site. Wine was delicious. Only wish they gave a little more of a generous pour as it was hardly a full sip so challenging to really taste the wine, especially when paying $15 for the tasting, I’d expect a slightly longer pour.
Bonnie J — Google review
We passed through a few wineries today on a bus tour and experienced a large variety of wines and locations. The Rob Dolan winery was lovely and enjoyable. What truly made this experience special wasn’t that it was the most spectacular venue or view, it was having someone like Taylor at the front of the customers. She was passionate, knowledgeable and was very commanding of a room. She taught me in our little time there more about wine and the various processes to achieve the results that we tasted than I’ve learned in all my life. I’d come again to spend more time knowing she’s there. Thank you for sharing the beautiful wines, and mostly thank you for sharing your passion and energy, Taylor!

Booked the bean bag experience and we had a relaxing lovely experience. Platter was perfect to have with the Chardonnay (highly recommended). We arrived early and had a tasting ($15 unless you buy a bottle), Holly was so lovely and made our experience more enjoyable. Will go again while the weather is nice.

At Kobe Teppanyaki, meals are prepared right before your eyes by skilled chefs who bring excitement and flair to each dish, making it more than just a meal—it's an unforgettable event filled with flavor and entertainment.
The service here was all consistently top quality from the initial phone call to book which was direct and simple to arriving at the restaurant. It has an aesthetically appealing atmosphere with minimalistic design. We booked for teppanyaki and the chef was very friendly, initiating conversation, putting on a show and was skilled at cooking and entertaining at the same time. Ordering was simple and staff was patient to take the orders and to serve of our larger group of 8 who didn’t all speak fluent english. The atmosphere was very lively without overwhelming noise and busyness and our server was always very attentive. The food was very high quality, cooked well and very enjoyable.

Saturday night for teppanyaki with the family. The Kobe set teppanyaki menu was chosen. Always fun watching the chef cook the food. The garden salad as starter was tasty and very fresh. The fried chicken was ok nothing fancy and a slight fast food taste to it. The king prawn was very good. The eye fillet steak was very good and tasty. And the fried rice was good, can always eat plenty of fried rice. Large drinks menu. The chef was entertaining throwing the bowls of rice for patrons to catch and flicking the sliced egg again for patrons to catch in their mouth. As it was for 2 birthdays the desert was brought out in a large bowl with happy birthday written in chocolate. Service was slightly slow at the beginning but overall a really good night with great food. Would visit again.

Kobe restaurant is the best place for good quality food, extreme taste and fun entertainment. We went there for our wedding anniversary and without having said anything when booking, we were treated at the end to a desert with wishes on the plate. Our chef for the evening asked us if we had anything special and this proves their extreme professionalism. Chef Man served us such a fun show and flawless service. Thank you all and we will definitely be back very soon as these kind of restaurants cannot be avoided but requested. We left the restaurant with huge smiles on our faces, happy stomachs and already planning our next visit.

If I could give zero stars I would. We came at 7:15pm on a Friday as a walk in. We ordered mixed tempura and spicy salmon sushi for our entrees. After eating our entrees, I immediately asked for our Wafu steak to be served. But no one cared and they just kept saying it is being prepared. After waiting for 45 MINUTES and after multiple follow ups, the steak was never served! So disappointing! We arrived 20 minutes before the table beside us but they were served order after order after order with lots of different entrees and 2 very large sushi boats! Obviously they were prioritised and our steak they never even bothered to prepare!! In the end, we just cancelled the steak and left very very mad and disappointed but no one NO ONE even bothered to apologise despite my expression of disappointment!! The Asian lady who never cared just kept SHOUTING CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL. WE WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE! Very poor customer service!! Fyi the restaurant was not even half full and they were already having a hard time serving us.

We have been going to Kobe for many years and it’s my daughter’s go to restaurant never been disappointed. Howard makes the experience so much fun excellent food and good value for money. Do yourself a favour and book Teppanyaki with Howard you wont be disappointed

It’s a great experience. Cocktails are amazing, staff are really nice and great entertainment as you’re engaged through out. I like the freshness of the food they prepare right then and there. But don’t expect take away noodle box flavours coz they use clean flavours for cooking.

Teppanyaki restaurant
Ichiban Japanese Restaurant - Teppanyaki in Doncaster East, Melbourne is a lively and popular spot known for its vibrant atmosphere and traditional decor. The menu features a variety of set dishes cooked on the teppanyaki grill, creating an interactive dining experience. The chef not only prepares delicious food but also entertains guests with games and a cooking show. The wait staff are friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout the meal.
We had the most wonderful dinner at Ichiban Teppanyaki in Doncaster East to celebrate our anniversary, and it was an unforgettable experience! The highlight was the teppanyaki chef, whose sense of humor and playful banter made the evening so much fun. His ability to match our energy and create a lively atmosphere elevated the dinner to something truly special. The food was absolutely delicious – we chose the seafood combination, and every bite was perfection. The classic teppanyaki antics, like throwing the egg and rice, added an extra layer of entertainment, even if it got a little messy (in the best way possible!). All praise to the chef for delivering such a superb and memorable experience. The service was equally impressive. Our waiter was amazing—attentive, friendly, and always there when we needed her, offering drinks and making sure we were well taken care of without being intrusive. Ichiban is a fantastic place for any occasion. Whether you're celebrating something special or just looking for great food and a fun night out, I cannot recommend it enough. Bring your family, grab some gift vouchers, or treat someone to an amazing dining experience here. Five stars all the way!

Ichiban is incredible!!! The food, staff and vibe were all perfect, but what was really above and beyond was the way Monique and Fab entertained our two year old! Going out for dinner with him is usually a nightmare but they went so out of their way to entertain him with jokes, attention, stickers, fire, and care, our chef even picked up a prawn and sang baby shark to him and made him feel so chuffed when he threw rice bowls at him from a careful short distance so that he actually caught them! Monique cuddled our baby so we could eat and it was all just 10/10! The whole way home our two year old screamed “more Teppanyaki!” - we can’t wait to return, thank you for such outstanding service and the best night out we have had in years!

Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars 🤩 Monique took such good care for us and Michael put on a great show while making super yummy food in front of us. Highly recommend for families!! Monique was incredibly accommodating and kind to our two year old twins. We’ve found our new go-to place for special occasions or just an “exciting dinner” (as Twin B put it 😄).

I'll start with the good points, as this won't take me long: + The chef, who calls himself Fabio, was good fun and good value. Skilled, extroverted, enthusiastic and the star of the evening. This is what the Teppanyaki experience is all about. + Decoration/ambience inside the venue was nice, though they could do to perhaps have some nice background music at a suitable volume. Now to where the venue fell short of what might have otherwise amounted to a good overall experience: - Entering the carpark, I felt like I was entering an abandoned lot. This was my first impression, and it was hard not to notice the lack of care with things like overgrown grass, dilapidated signage, and graffiti on the building. - Quality of the food vs. the price charged wasn't particularly good value. Sure, I'm paying for the entertainment also, and that's why I'm not saying it was completely overpriced. It was fun, but the fish they serve, for example, is cheapo Mekong Catfish a.k.a. Basa. Portion sizes were generally small (edamame was a tiny serve), and some of the dishes were rather bland. - I felt that the only genuinely Japanese thing at this restaurant was the name. The staff/managers/owners were Chinese-speaking. For those in the know, this should tell you a lot about what to expect. - Service from the staff (other than our chef) was poor and disingenuous. I felt absolutely rushed, and like trying to enjoy the experience and my food was some kind of burden on them. The service provided was cold, and whilst often "attentive" it was not "perceptive". I had the staff standing over me appearing frustrated and impatient whilst I looked through the menu. They asked me what drinks (higher profit) I wanted to order several times after I'd opted for water, as if not drinking alcohol was somehow strange. They tried to clear food from the table halfway through our group still eating it SEVERAL times. At one point I really had to assert myself with this which is a no-no in my eyes. A very uncomfortable interaction that I shouldn't have to experience at a hospitality venue. -Half our group were ushered back to the door after arriving to confirm whether they had a booking, even though they'd made a beeline for us and it was clear we all knew each other and were part of the same group. This just seemed bizarre to me. - They refused to split bills (even in half), as though when customers are bringing them hundreds of dollars in turnover this is some kind of massive imposition or effort. It wasn't even that busy at the time, with perhaps 2 groups still seated when I went to pay. - Credit card surcharge. When will people stop taking advantage of their customers like this? In summary, the cookery showmanship/experience was great and I've added a star to my overall rating for this. Otherwise, the quality of the food was nothing to write home about and the service from the female staff members at times bordered on abysmal. I left hungry & it's unlikely I will return.

We visited for dinner 2 adults and 3 kids. A great family restaurant and would also suit a larger group. The food was as you would expect at a teppanyaki place as well as the entertainment. We ordered small sake, mock tails for the kids and the ‘signature’ pack. Serving size was generous. All worth it because our chef thoroughly entertained the kids with tricks. They were laughing all the way through the night and our waitress was also very professional and genuine. Worth the drive out to Doncaster.

Chef is super entertaining but a bit too loud. The service was pretty good though, Monique was really attentive and patient. She told us about the sauces on the plate and even encouraged us to take away our leftovers (whereby we feel shy to ask). Overall, the food was delicious! A good place for special occasions and gathering.

We had such a fun, laughter-filled dining experience here last night! Our assigned chef was amazing and hilarious! He delivered both great jokes and great food! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 The meats here tasted AMAZING! The beef and chicken melted in my mouth, yum… I especially recommend ordering the wagyu set. The portion sizes were really big too, so definitely value for money! I couldn’t finish my food, but they let me take the leftovers home. I’m excited to have it for lunch tomorrow! One advice is not to wear something you won’t want stained, because the chef will throw food at you (you will have to try to catch it with your mouth 🤭). I highly recommend dining here! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Mediterranean restaurant
Olivigna, located in Warrandyte, offers an amazing Italian dining experience with a variety of delicious meals and a great selection of drinks. The restaurant is known for its fantastic service and ability to accommodate dietary requirements, such as dairy-free and celiac needs. Customers have praised the flavors of the food, including octopus, burattina, lamb shank, pork belly, fish, and steak.
Had a nice lunch here for my friend’s birthday on the weekend. We were five, and four of us ordered the same main course, which was Manzo the union scotch - the meat was cooked to perfection, we also loved the stracciatella. Very good service by the staff; appreciation to the front desk staff who was extra helpful to find us a table as we just walk-in without prior reservation, and we just arrived Melbourne early am with redeye flight, so that was really made our first day of the trip.

We had the most beautiful experience at Olivigna! My daughter took part in the school holiday pasta-making class and absolutely loved it. The chef was calm, patient, and made the whole experience engaging and fun for the kids. Every member of staff we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. The food? Absolutely divine. From the moment we arrived, the smells alone had us drooling—and it did not disappoint. Fresh, flavoursome, and made with real heart. Add to that the stunning surroundings, relaxed vibe, and great coffee, and you’ve got yourself the perfect family, romantic or just girls day out outing. Can’t wait to come back! I recently visited the restaurant and was impressed by the beautiful view, it truly enhances the dining experience. However, I found the food to be just average and not up to the expectations set by the ambiance. Given the prices, I felt that the quality of the food did not justify the cost. While the scenery is a highlight, I hope the menu can be improved to match it in the future.

Stunning estate in a beautiful location in Warrandyte with professional, friendly & welcoming staff. A pleasant dining area with lovely views of the estate. Delicious fresh Mediterranean meals with a classy twist. Good local wines available. We loved the local olives, house made soughdough, local olive oil, Fremantle octopus, fresh pasta as well as the most delicious desserts. A great venue Highly recommend

Came here for a spontaneous lunch date and it did not disappoint. Love that there’s such a gorgeous hidden winery only 30mins away! We dined on the 4 course chefs selection menu and it did not disappoint, it was good value for how much food came out - three entrees and some bread that is not photographed. We were so full by the main lamb course that we got half of it packed for takeaway. We were sat right by the fireplace which was perfect as well :) looking forward to coming back.

Olivigna has fabulous ambiance, lush greenery, beautiful views, relaxed atmosphere outside and a large dining option inside. We celebrated mum's 80th birthday inside. The staff were great especially Emily who was very attentive, professional and fun. Lot's of food options with the octopus, pizzas, lamb shoulder and steak our favs. Have been to Olivigna many times and will definitely return!

I had a fantastic experience at Olivigna Restaurant 🤩 we were seated in a perfect corner spot with stunning views that really set the tone for the meal. The server who assisted us (unfortunately no name tag, so I didn’t catch her name) was incredibly helpful, recommending a delicious pasta dish and a couple of great drinks to go with it. The highlight for me, though, was the tartufo 🍕🍄‍🟫 honestly one of the best I’ve ever had, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting. The whole venue has a warm, inviting atmosphere and has a beautiful spot to take photos, making it an ideal place for a special celebration.

A beautifully presented modern restaurant, exceptional food and service. Highly recommend. Booking in for Sunday lunch to celebrate a special occasion. Our table of 4 opted for the selected feed me menu and were impressed with the incredible amount of variety and courses that came out everything was fresh, well presented and delicious

Came on a Wednesday night, the restaurant is fully booked. While I enjoyed sitting at the bar, staff offered us a table soon as there’s one available. The food is exceptional, value of money given to its quality. Fair amount of portion, we skipped a main course + dessert as we are small eaters. Steak was slightly overcooked, but still a 5 star as the staff are friendly and other components on the dishes are well balanced.

As like the last time, it was a pleasurable experience. The food was great and well-paced. For the 'Feed Me Feast', there was more than enough food. It was a very special dining experience, as it was our little one's baptismal lunch. He also enjoyed his 'chicken and chips'. The lovely wait staff who was in charge of our table, thank you to you. You made our day special. We will be back!!!
