I was not expecting much but this place was super interesting for both myself and my wife. We’re not car fanatics but we genuinely enjoyed the visit and it was a pity we didn’t allow more time. Highly recommended. Interested in VW then you will not be disappointed. Who knew VW had a factory for a while in NZ? Tractors, tick. Minis, tick. Trucks, absolutely. Period correct motoring paraphernalia, tick. Exit via the gift shop.

Well worth the look if interested in Transport , but they also have a range of old vintage stuff, records and players, clothing, household goods used back in the day. Happy friendly staff. Can buy tickets for both transport hall and the motorbike museum at a discounted rate for both.

What a display....and the staff is so nice...you have to check out all the themed bathrooms....so cool Eat at the Grill if you have tine...they are wonderful as well...and GREAT service

Must visit place in Invercargill, spare a few hours here to explore. We were there at 4pm and only had 45mins to explore which is definitely not enough.

Great stadium..cool facilities..more importantly, it has a cafe!!! Squash and rock climbing too!! It's a shame there is no indoor playground for little kids however there is one outside, but mostly cast in the shadow of the stadium 🙃

Such a great venue that has something for everyone. Just a handful of the activities that you can do with the family: Squash courts, great and safe climbing wall, netball courts and the beautiful velodrome.

Perfect place for sports training, Great place for athletes, staff are awesome there, large parking space outside.

The stadium is a great asset to the Southland region. There are a number of fantastic function rooms available to hire. We've had held a number of seminars here and been thoroughly impressed by the stadium.

A nice and big park to enjoy. You can spend a couple of hours here, including enjoying some tea break at the cafe in the park.

Really nice place. Very big park with different areas such as rose gardens, Japanese garden, winter garden, playgrounds, and a big pond with ducks. It is beautiful and very well maintained. It's very big so you can easily spend a few hours there.

Beautiful place to visit. It was a good day when we went, nice sunny day. Kids' parks are there, and toilets are available for the public. There is a cafe area there, too. Free car parking. Overall, it was a very good experience. You can plan a good picnic day with kids there. Always carry a light jacket just in case of rain or wind.

Without doubt one of the nicest public gardens in NZ. The whole park is pristine, beautifully displayed exhibits... the staff and Invercargill should be very proud. Their efforts have crested a stunning asset for all to enjoy. Pooches on leashes encouraged... just remember yr poop bags Lol.

Big. The was well worth the time to visit. Classic, peaceful, plenty of points of interest. The amazing rose garden was of particular interest. Decent opportunity for a long and visually engrossing walk. Recommended.

Queenspark has something for every one. Stunning walks, large busy playground, Chinese gardens, animals, fish, plants, Cafe, fountains, rose gardens, statues, ponds and ducks galore. You could spend an entire day exploring this place 💓.

What a great facility this is for invercargill. Came her while on holiday and swam lengths. Plenty of room. Could have been cleaner, hence the 4 stars. Otherwise really good

Ive been regularly going to the pools for the last 8 years to use the sauna and cold plunge, and i love going down. However over the last 2 years commitment to service has been progressively getting worse and worse, to the point where its getting confusing now. For the longest time ive been able to just show up to the pool, and know everything has been open. But its gotten so unpredictable that ive had to get into the habit of checking the facebook page to see if theres anything shut Ive just checked the facebook page thisafternoon, and seemed to be all clear. Just to show up and be greeted with signs saying the sauna is shut. Its really really frustrating driving in from out of town to use the facilities, just to drive home again immediately after. Especially after checking for this exact reason.

Really excellent facility with good parking. Friendly, helpful staff. Pool itself could do with a decent clean though.

The slide and diving boards are fun. It’s clean, bright, and good family fun! Also good for seeing heavies with tattoos. I thought crime bosses had their own boss-hangouts/evil lairs? We arrived three and a half hours before closing time. We rode the slide for a while and then tried the diving boards(kids and I). With no explanation, and seemingly no reason, the slides and the diving boards were closed for the last two hours. The “supervisor “ would not open them and did not give an explanation, when queried. We were quite disappointed and left early as wading around in highly chlorinated water only offers so much satisfaction. Happily the tough-guys could easily by pass the closed signs on the cold tub, so they had theirs. I don’t know if it’s always like this, as that was our first visit, and probably last. Too bad! It’s a great place with friendly staff and a nice facility! But, Dunedin keeps the slide open all the time and the diving board most of the time. And Gore has a nice pool for laps and chlorine marination.

A multifunctional swimming pool, I love they have everything: sauna, cold pool… But when I arrived they have split the lanes, make it 25m. When it approach close time, they make it back to 50m, anyway I’m glad that I did swimming in 50m lane. And I like their lanes have variety water depth: 1m-3m-5m.

It's the Kiwi staple place to shop for cheaper groceries, and yes, on the whole that's true, but...I have found, that in shopping around and getting the things on special at all the places you can for each main grocery shop you do, you can pretty much get an even spread of savings. Yes, that's more hassle, and if you just want a one stop shop, then yes, Pak n Save is your place. Staff are very friendly here in Invercargill.

You're not welcome to shop there more than once a day. Went in the morning to do my shopping and again in the afternoon to grab a bunch of spring onions. Got a infringement notice in the mail 10 days later stating I was parked there over time limit and coped a $65.00 ticket. Good customer relations Park and slave !!!

Great supermarket, easy layout. Pass through fresh produce and into butchery. Deli has an amazing array of fresh value added produce and other products. Exciting fresh meat items to just take home and cook in your oven. The fresh bakery provides some high quality treats too. Attentive staff willing to help as well.

I was so surprised by how big this store was. Decent prices too might i add. Carpark got crazy jammed up. The exit is a stupid design but hey that's the planners fault not the stores. 😂😂🤣

Great big diner at the Transport Museum in Invercargill. I ordered the woffle and fried chicken and a basket of fries with aoili. Fantastic food.

Had the Big Breakfast in the afternoon because I got there late and had not eaten up till then. After that meal I didn't need to eat for another day. Big it was. The restroom was clean and very interesting as well. Went back there to finish looking g around one of the Best Transport Museums in the World.

We stopped by this cafe on our way down to Bluff. Ambience - This is such a cool cafe. The deco and the interior is worth the visit itself. Car themes permeate the place, even as far as the men's toilet, which took the term, "pit stop" to a new level. Food - we ordered a couple of items from the cabinet and the Grille Seafood Chowder. The Salmon Quiche from the cabinet is quite nice but the Seafood Chowder is simply awesome. Add some pepper and a dash of lemon to the seafood chowder and you will not be disappointed. Service - the service was great. Lots of smiles and very prompt service by the staff, especially Kahlee.

Had lunch here on the 30th Sep 2021 with my Aunty and Uncle and husband. What a great experience!!!! Such lovely staff and the atmosphere was relaxed and calm. I had a beef burger and fries for lunch - absolutely delicious and after being sick and not able to eat much this was amazing!! Husband had the lamb sliders with potato skins which he never chooses to eat! - yet he really enjoyed them. My Aunty had a cheese scone and skins. And the other meal was salmon on a potato rosti and an egg. All ridiculously tasty meals and really nice presentation too in the cool bowl/platter type plate!!! Will be back again definitely next time in Invercargill!!! Thankyou

As a local google guide I always make sure to share my experiences to Google Local Connect which I am affilated and I always give my honest comments, observations and recommendations to others. This way I can help in answering thier inquries/questions about the place, activities or restaurants/place they're planning to go or do. Last night was our first time to dine in The Grille, Invercargill. We're local of the city but this is the only time we've visited the place. There are few things I will give a review base on my experience. 1. The place (The Grille) It's ambiance is totally will bring you back to the 50s, 60s, 70,s or 80s the decor was amazing and the appliances vintages ones brought me back to my childhood watching the vintage TV😁 i thought that was nice and creative. I even told my wee boy 3 years old that we got old TV like it when I was in his age. He was so amazed😂. The light of the entire restaurant fit to its theme ans decorations. It's cozy and warm there. 2. The Service (staff mainly) First impression last i guess thats why I always remind myself that those people/staff working as frontline/wait person/service crew should always have the BIG smile😁 and Friendly approach not intemidating. The first staff I approach was bot so friendly in her way of talking to me. We arrived 10 mins early on our booking time. When I was so friendly in asking her about our table as I got no idea yet how they do things, like should we just grab a table or look for our table things like these...so I asked her. At first she told me that "you know that our service for this is at 6pm right, I will show your table after I'll finish this" that sounds like I was told off for coming early as she didnt smile at all, to me her facial expression and approach was not friendly. I felt upset but I didnt took it in a wrong way or let her know how i felt instead I turned and told my husband they will start serving at 6pm so we sat at the sofa in front of the fire place for 10 mins while oue boy was enjoying his play time in their play area (which is something recommendable for restaurants like The Grille) i thought this is a brilliant idea having a wee play area for kids so those couples who have kids can enjoy their time together while kids playing upon witing for the food to arrive. Thumbs up for that! Another wait/staff assisted us with our orders when the first staff finally took us to our table. My personal comments in this matter are: First, wait person should ask somebody else to help us out and guide us to our table while she was busy in the bar. She could told us, "Hi welcome to the Grille, Im sorry I cant help you but my company will take you to your table our service will be at 6pm feel free to choose for a drink" in that way we could have felt welcome. Coz honestly it was not a nice welcome after all. Next, wait person should be alert when I say alert enthusiastic, energitic and lively. 3.Food-100 percent recommended no questions with what we order we are very happy. I love that being in keto diet I have the food that I can enjoy to eat in their menu so that was well done!👏 4. Total experience 7/10 I will say I recommend this restaurant to others because there are room for change especially to the wait staff.

Lovely staff and really fresh and tasty food. Definitely recommend visitors come here. We needed something quick before heading to Bluff for the ferry and they were outstanding.

Had an afternoon tea break here after a walk in Queens Park. Ordered an Iced Matcha Latte and an Iced Mocha. The Iced Mocha was good. However, the Iced Matcha Latte was very blend with little taste. Nonetheless, a great place to stop for a rest while catching a beverage and snack.

Surrounded by green, you can eat & drink in or out. Gluten-free sweet treats available. Smiling staff and happy customers. Perfect for lunch or just a coffee/cup of tea.

I got beef nachos which were almost $30, they had a ring of chips around the edge of a small bowl which was insufficient to mix with salsa.i could not see any mince at all in the mix. I thought they had accidentally given me a vegetarian version.when I asked about it, they told me the mince was chopped up very fine. Upon further inspection, I concluded that the closest a cow came to being involved with my meal was the dairy content of the sour cream or maybe living in a field next to the factory were my 10 corn chips were made. Depressing meal.

Takeout order, cold winter night. I ordered Palek Paneer, Lamb Korma and plain naan. Good customer service - the order was ready very quickly and still piping hot when we arrived home. There was a decent serving of rice and both curries were delicious with the med hot spice level absolutely perfect. The chunks of paneer in the palek dish were perfectly cooked and delicious. The naan was freshly baked and great flavour and texture. I feel like the portions were good value for money. Looks like I have a new fave Indian restaurant. I CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK. Bonus*** Nice, clean cozy area with seats and a heater to wait for my order - makes all the difference in cold weather

Came here 3 years ago for a takeaway and the food was lovely. Tonight I returned and had a meal with my son. If there was one time in your life where the meal was perfect, taste was heaven and the service was 10 out of 10.....this was that moment. I have had a fair share of Indian food around the world and this place is the best hands down. I just wish I was greedy enough to eat more.

We ordered via Uber Eats, Mushroom Tikka and it was Raw. I called the restaurant to inform and ask if I can get a replacement or refunded, the girl who picked the call was very rude and passed the phone to manager who was also very disrespectful and argued that the vegetables served are supposed to be raw when it was supposed to be cooked. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money and time on places like these, they ruin reputation of Indian cuisine. Shame on you Bombay Palace Invercargill. The food here is great! Slightly pricey but staff is friendly and happy to customize spice levels to your liking. The decor of the restaurant is good too.

The food is great and served very quickly. The portions are a decent size and they have a range of spice levels that goes reasonably hot. Their mango lassi is pretty good too.

Don't usually review fast food restaurants because you don't go to them expecting much other than convenience. But this BK provided the best tasting BK burgers we've had. They also gave us a decent amount of fries. The restaurant was light and open and clean. A good experience all around & the whole family we're happy.

Throughly useless staff. The kiosk locked up by not accepting payment. The staff didn't care, except when we went to leave. Hardly anyone there could understand what was wrong so they stood there with blank expressions. Hopeless. Absolutely hopeless.

Fast food? I think not!! I'm pretty sure this is the reason I stopped coming here, but husband wanted to. Couldn't even get the meal he wanted as they had no ice cream sundae's. Hi I usually dnt do this but feel you guys need to know .I visited Invercargill site today around 2:30 and was very disgusted how dirty the place was. ,I've never seen it looking like this in the past, built up dust/ dirt everywhere, the toilet walls and doors need a waterblast at them. Honestly if my boy wasnt hungry and looking forward to his BK as a treat I would have walked out, if thats the dine In Area I'd hate to think what the cooking area is like.

Pretty good 99% of the time, they've only forgotten something like three times but if they do forget and you go in and say what you're missing they always either give you your item or your item and a few extras to say sorry so I can easily forgive them for that, the workers are humans as well and sometimes forget things but they always make it up to you so I'm happy

This place is a treasure trove of cool machinery including motorcycles, cars and the Burt Monroe land speed racer. Aside from that the stock and variety the store has is unbelievable. Customer service is second to none and it just way better than your average hardware store. Its a must visit. Cafe coffee and frappe cold drinks were great but there are plenty of dedicated food outlets close by that may be worth a visit. Over all an experience I never expected in a hardware store. A1 👍

I have a confession to make. I came here for the Burt Munro experience without knowing how amazing the store was anyway. I was blown away by the helpful staff, and my visit was well worth the effort to get here. Thanks for making my holiday dream come true.

An excellent precursor to visiting motorcycle mecca, I just loved that a hardware shop with such lovely tools has so varied a selection of nice bikes.we only travelled down this way because of Hayes and the Burt Munro exhibits. What a legend and now I need to look up Hayes riding career. Photos represent a small selection of both the bikes and the vast stock of tools. Pop in you won't regret it.

Called in during a tour to see Bert Munro’s Indian motorcycle WOW this place is amazing so much to see including more motorcycles 😊 Everyone on our tour brought something and, the coffee shop is great the girls doing the coffee were friendly and made excellent coffee if you’re in the area stop in and have a look around

Not a big mall, but it does house a few eateries, including a food centre. The Starbucks here is also the “most southern” outlet according to what is on the shop. Worth a try.

I went especially to try the new Banh MI Vietnamese restaurant. It didn't disappoint. The Pho was fabulous, the service super-friendly and the ambiance just lovely. Definitely going again!

Went into Invercargill farmers today and what a lovely store I first went through to their baby section because nursery sale today and who doesn’t love that when you have a little one then I went through to beauty to grab my makeup however they didn’t have my makeup I ask a lady for help and she was just super helpful even went out the back and had a look for me after that she offered to colour match me and we got a match I asked her name and she said Donna may I appreciate your customer service Donna you went above and beyond and made me feel comfortable!

Has to be the very, very worst place to find an assistant unless it's makeup or jewelry. If you want a bra fitting , or help selecting a bra don't bother there. This store is an absolute shocker.

I recently took my mother to the bra department in nvercargill and there was a lady there named Vicki and her service to my 89 year old mother for fitting bras was amazing she was so good and nothing was a bother.

A pleasant enough place for anyone with an interest in old motorbikes to visit on a cold, wet weekend afternoon. Spacious and well presented. Note the entry price.

One of THE top displays of classic and vintage motorcycles in the world. It is so worth the visit at least once. This was my second visit, this time mid-winter, it was quiet. Great for me, got pics without people in the shot. Not so good for the museum though.

This place is so cool it had lots of different bikes. There was so many cool storys about the bikes my favorite part was the worlds fastest indian and what the burt munro shed looked like.

If you plan on going to the Transport Hall you can buy tickets at either place and get a $20 discount! Both well worth it

What an amazing display of 320+ motor cylces. Some in as found condition thru to beautifully restored. The Britten display was just great and well worth the stop alone. The Begg racing cars were so cool to see in all their iterations. There’s an informative tribute to famous NZ riders which made good reading.

If you are interested in motoring and especially motorcycles this is a must do. If you have a whole day you will still want more time to explore. A fantastic collection that I can’t wait to revisit.

Value for money! The Lamb shanks were huge and very tasty. The beers are nice, but I asked the server for something not too hoppy, and they couldn't really provide much advice other than to take the tasting paddle, which I did. Beers were hit and miss, one Golden style beer was quite nice, the rest a bit too fruity. Lovely place to sit with mural ceiling and brewing tanks in the back. Would come back, but would love a bit more advice on the brews.

Ideal Location for Festivities! My dad's birthday was celebrated here, and everything went perfectly! The location was ideal for a private conference, and the staff was welcoming and accommodating. Everyone had a terrific time, and the atmosphere made the day even more memorable. I heartily endorse this location for any type of event!

After several days walking in Fiordland National Park, I wanted a beer. A good one! I found it at Gadoochi Brewing (Tuatara Bar & Cafe), a creamy porter. The blue cod fish & chip meal with home-made tartaric sauce was delicious and the bar tender / matre d' was quietly attentive and lovely. Happy hiker here!

Stopped here for breakfast, very quiet at 7am on a Saturday morning. Nice calm atmosphere with great service, I ordered the half big breakfast for what I got was worth the price. Very tasty and filled a hole. Coffee was hot and delicious I'll be back.

Breakfast here two mornings this week. Poached eggs on toast with mushrooms. Mushrooms were big, juicy and cooked to perfection. The coffee I thought was next level. Good welcoming atmosphere. Recommended if in the vicinity. Back again, May 2023 👍🏼

Great wee locally owned and run store. Absolutely fantastic hot lunch and dinner food served piping hot and very generous portions at a 'worth it' price. Worth a visit just to check those out alone. Staff are very helpful and parking is pretty good. Very handy central city location to grab something afterwork if need-be.

Great place to stop for a quick few groceries. Ribeye steak while expensive is worth it for a treat. Beautifully marbled, costing about $18 a steak (depending on how thick the cut is), its worthwhile. The fruit and veges are always fresh and bright. The Afghans are totally outrageously delicious. Made in store, 5 to a pkt, crispy deliciousness. If your a Black Pudding fan... then you would know that BLACKBALL blood sausage is without doubt the best. SUPERVALUE is one of the few places you can get it in invercargill. Yum.

The pie was huge with homemade pastry, and the frittata with salad was delicious. Reasonably priced, and I’ll definitely be back.

Went back to try pizza again thinking they had a bad day on my last visit but apparently they are happy to make sub standard pizza. I wonder if the chef even knows why his dough won’t rise? Of maybe he just doesn’t care and buys pre made bases. What a terrible pizza

Go to the Pub if nobody at the reception despite opening time. Stayed one night in private single room which provided towel before heading to Steward Island. Returned from Steward Island , I stayed in 8beds dormitory. This time no towel given and the bed doesn’t have shade to close for privacy. And this time facing the pub owned by the same hostel and road thus pretty noisy with the loud music and from the vehicles. The heater is not strong since it’s a bigger 8 bedder dormitory. Location is excellent given it’s right in front of the Intercity coach pick up and drop off area and also very near to Invercargill Mall and Park n Save, the cheap grocery mall. Suggested to stay in the private single room which has better facing than the dormitory as the latter face the noisy road and loud music from the Pub downstairs. Oh they charge $10 per day for secured lock room of your luggage but I decided to choose the unsecured manner ( ie just left it beside the staircase. However all good as just bring your own toiletries and towel and make sure you charge your phone in the lounge or kitchen as there is only 2 power points in the 8 bedder dorm and one used for the heater !!!

Nice hostel in the heart of the city. I stayed one night in a single room, it was basic but warm and comfortable, decent for the price. Common areas are well-equipped and clean, showers are hot, the staff was really friendly. Only downsides are: - walls are very thin, so you'll hear what happens in the rooms around you, in the corridor and even outside. - parking your car can be tricky as you have to park on the street, but it's free at night Overall, I was pretty satisfied with my stay and would recommend this place for budget travelers.

I stayed at Tuatara Lodge in Invercargill and had a good overall experience. The room was clean, the service friendly and helpful, and the lodge offered all the basics you need for a short stay. The location is okay, within walking distance of the town centre, cafés and shops. However, parking can be a bit tricky, especially during busier times, as spaces are limited. Nothing fancy, but a solid and reliable place to stay if you're passing through Southland.

We arrived quite late from a long drive so we had a late check in but the staff was very responsive through emails and very accommodating. Check in for us was easy. However, there was no mentioning of parking. We parked on the parking on the side and realized that is free in the weekend. The bed was very comfortable however our room was right next to the staircase door therefore we can hear people open and close the door all the time. There is only one washroom available in the women toilets/ showers, since we only stay for a very short night, it didn’t bother us very much. The room was clean. Overall, it was a comfortable one short stay for us to get through towns. We didn’t really check out the town center so can’t really comment on that but the hostel is right in the town center.

I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s easily my favourite place to get food. The staff are always incredibly kind and friendly, and the service is consistently quick—whether it’s busy or not. I still find myself coming back multiple times a week, and that’s not changing anytime soon!

Service was amazing, no doubt about it. However, food was taking quite long even when it was not so busy. We had the top photo a while ago, and we came in today ordered the same dish, but got exactly the different thing (bottom photo). Such a disappointment, fish was not crispy at all, sauce didn’t taste the same.

well，after check the comments here, we decided to try it, as my kids were keen on the ice cream! The food was ok, above our expectations. There were not many choices but it is fine considering in Invercargill. Location is great and the restaurant is clean. We had good time but was disappointed at the end: we were told $23 for buffet, and $20 for my yr 11 and $12 for the yr 7, however we were charged $29 for one adult when checking out. As we mentioned the offer, the reception refunded. This was not a pleasant experience. If you decide to go for the buffet, double confirm the price before sitting down. PS the ingredients are not fresh, be careful!

Restaurant revamped from last visit many years ago.. Fresh decor with modern feel. Only Restaurant still taking clients after 8.30 on Monday night. (Only patrons). Food good and we used 4 person banquet. Service friendly. Heading back soon.

Customer Srrvice was slack, had pre booked birthday function. No communication upon arrival. Chlostrophobic toilets and vibe just felt off, nice decorations food was decent but however I will not be back nor recommending to other people! Highly dissatisfied and disappointed 😞

It's a nice and warm place, staff are very friendly. But for the food, it's a little bit disappointed. The seafood chowder was too creamy, I remembered it was very nice but now I am not really like it. The fried noodle was too dark and salty, taste was not good, I don't think it should on the menu if you can't cook it well. The price is a little bit too high for me, almost $20 per person. Others are all fine.

At last despite massive crowds at the Burt Munro challenge a cafe that stays open beyond 5pm. Great to sit at any of the three different areas. The outside street tables. Inside cafe seating or the upstairs area. Lovely coffee,beers or spirits. Plus lots of different foods. Its the service which makes the Zoo great. Little touches like a cafe with Number 35 on it (Burt's racing number for his world's fastest Indian)

Too busy at the time, they couldn't handle all the orders, I wait for my order about 30mins. But still recommend this cafe if you are not hurry , good atmosphere.

A beautifully maintained city hall/theatre which had a major refit back stage some years ago which allows incredible touring shows to have confidence in that their needs are met for the many production companies that book this pearl of a venue knowing it offers the best in Australasia and our local productions are far better for having such an amazing staging set. The architecture itself is stunning for NZ as a country, considered incredibly young given it's only been inhabited less than 400 years. Floodlights at night highlight another dimension which is well worth seeing.

Such a beautiful theatre. It was perfectly restored a few years back and a wonderful theatre to see shows.

Fabulous iconic theatre. I have attended a variety of events/performances here. Most recently Jersey Boys stage production by Invercargill Operatic Society.

I can’t beleive I just lucked upon this incredible chocolate shop and cafe. You can watch them make chocolates out the back. Their chocolates rival anything made in Tassie. I visited the shop daily for a week and have sampled nearly everything from mint choccies to Rocky Road. They also make chicks for special occasions like the Burt Munro Challenge. Then there is the staff. How friendly and helpful are they, Heather in particular is a total gem. The quality of their product and level of service is Seriously Good.

You would expect to find chocolate cake at a chocolate factory, but no, they didn't have any. Their brownie had a layer of cheesecake in it...what a bummer. Was not wowed by anything in their cabinet and there wasn't really much on offer so we left very disappointed.

The southern most chocolate company. Heaps of chocolate collections to choose from. A great place to buy souvenirs for friends and family! The staffs are so lovely and helpful, and made us feel very welcomed:) Tried the Chocolate Spoon, delicious!

I have a bit of a sweet tooth so maybe I’m a little biased, but I do think this was excellent. I got both a little chocolate they had made with a strawberry filling and their lotte cookie cheesecake. Both were delicious. The only reason I didn’t finish the cheesecake is because I’m trying to limit my sugar intake, but I will say I had a really tough time putting the fork down. Before I knew it half the cheesecake was gone!

Great hot chocolate with marshmallow. I just walked by looking for food in the late afternoon. When I came by this place. It came with a chocolate spoon and a generous proportion of marshmallows. A good afternoon treat! Sadly, they don't serve any savoury dishes, but why do I see people posting cheese rolls and sorts?

Bought some pinot noir chocolates today. After getting home (which is over an hour away), I sat down to enjoy this and realized I had been sold expired chocolate. Would not recommend.

I ordered the lawn game 'Mölkky' online. The game itself is, of course, 5/5! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy but fun lawn game. But I'd give Solve it and Escape 5/5 as well! Once I decided to order the game, I looked around online. I wanted to make sure I got the 'original' game and not a knock-off, and Solve it had one of the best prices. And once i realised they were a small business, and close by (i.e., on the south island) it was an easy decision. Product was shipped and delivered super fast. My husband and I visited and tried the Inheritance room on a recent holiday to Southland. The puzzles we had to solve were really clever and it was such an endorphin rush to get something right. We had to exceed the one-hour time target, so we were really glad to get to finish anyway and get there in the end with a friendly nudge or two. Might have been faster/easier with more than just the two of us! A lovely family business and they also offer an incredible selection of board games!

My Grand-daughters and I had a great time. Very helpful staff as we struggled with some of the clues but he talked us through. Highly recommend but we didn't make very good bank robbers

The sculpture is a tribute to Burt Munro. This beautiful bronze statue features Burt Munro riding a 1920 Indian motorcycle. The statue is 4.5 meters tall and black in color. Right beside the statue, there is information about Burt Munro engraved on the stone. You can also visit the local department store E Hayes & Sons which is closeby and now home to Burt's World's Fastest Indian. They get up to 10,000 visitors a year just coming to the store to see the Indian on display. It's 100 percent free for anybody to just walk into the store as a normal shopper would and walk around and see the Indian and all the other memorabilia that have in store of Burt Munro.

It's cool, just a big sculpture of the legendary Burt Munroe. the park however I'd absolutely beautiful so don't visit invercargill without stopping by and strolling thru the gardens and under the trees

Burt Munro holds a special place in kiwi history, and more so Invercargill. The statue is nicely located just outside of Queens Park. There is plenty of parking and it is free to visit. You can see the original ‘Burt Special’ motorcycle (and movie replica) at the local Hammer Hardware, also for free.

A 'must see' for any Burt Munro enthusiast and well placed by the gardens. It's a lovely work of art and worth the visit to check it out.

Nice architecture to take a look and capture some photo moments. There are free parking opposite that you can park.

Wish you could still go up it. Remember going up so many years ago and was a cool 360 view.

Iconic piece of Invercargill history. I remember the pride my uncles had scaffolding it when I was young. Have been lucky to be around long enough to remember walking up all those steps spiraling to the top.

Invercargill is built on almost entirely flat land. A major landmark in Invercargill, is the Water Tower which was built in 1889. It was built to support the city’s first high-pressure water supply tank. It was designed by consulting engineer William Sharp, and built by Matthew and Hugh Mair. Water towers are located on high ground to provide enough pressure to send water into a municipal water supply with enough force to supply all the customers in the  immediate vicinity. It comprises 300,000 bricks and is 42.6 metres high landmark . New Zealand suffered many great fires. In the late 1880s the Invercargill Borough Council decided to build a water tower on part of the green belt. Ratepayers wanted the tower but not an eye-sore on the town belt, architect-engineer William Sharp suggested blunting criticism by disguising the 300,000-litre steel tank with an elaborate brick tower. Earthquakes don't kill but buildings do. The building has been declared a 'earthquake-prone' hazard which constitutes a major risk to public safety and infrastructure. It includes a threat to the continuous operation of the city's main pump station. Both the Water Tower and the control building are category one historic buildings, and at the moment have a rating of 25 percent of the national building standard. The council basically don't want to pay to fix it because it will cost ($) millions to strengthen it. It is ready to fall down in the next big magnitude earthquake. In the last 12 million years the Southern Alps have been uplifted by an amazing 20 kilometres! The Alpine Fault has ruptured four times in the past 900 years.

Very helpful instructors. This is must do activity in Invercargill, New Zealand. It may cost you a bit but you will remember it forever. 1 hour of exciting digging, driving your choice of equipment. Smashing fun. Must do.

This place is a must do if you love playing with toys. There's nowhere else you can play with a full size excavator or bulldozer under expert tuition with zero experience. This place is cool. I did the bulldozer which was awesome. Apparently only 1 in 10 do the bulldozer over the digger but the dozer takes constant thought and you can't pause unlike a digger! Just do it!!

This was an amazing experience. Matt our instructor was funny, friendly, very patient. We had the best unique experience. Highly recommend.

My wife and I did this on a Sunday, we rang and booked an hour before we got there. Absolutely incredible, highly recommend, one of the highlights of our holiday to the South Island. The guide was very helpful and patient, and we had a lot of fun doing this. The diggers are so much fun to use and play in. Cheers team.

Great experience - I previously did the one in Las Vegas, but this is more relaxed and great staff. Also added the Dig & Destroy package which let's you flatten a car with an excavator.

What an incredible find! My husband and I weren't sure where to eat but after a walk around a few streets we discovered Global Bite. We saw lots of people eating so that was a great sign. We were served by a school boy who was absolutely delightful. He was friendly, professional and made us feel very welcome. The fries were fantastic and very generous, and our bagels super tasty. So many hidden flavours! My husband loved his coffee. He loves a flat white with hazelnut and this beautiful cafe served the perfect ratio of coffee and hazelnut. My English breakfast tea was great, and I was very pleased to have sweetener. I need this. The service was so genuine, professional and welcoming, and the cafe gets everything right. We wish we had this place in Christchurch, as we'd be regulars! Thank you so much for such a great experience. I think the owner must be the blonde lady? Absolutely amazing. Such a genuine person. Thank you.

Lunch for 2. Toasted sandwich (big thick one with loads of filling), seafood chowder (tasty, creamy, not a obvious chunks of seafood, but was very nice, came with a little bread. Add tea, and a smoothie (which was very good according to my husband), and a piece of fudge $47 bucks. Staff were lovely and food delivered in a timely fashion. Lastest visit disappointed with our eggs, hard poached eggs! Criminal!

Best mocha I've had yet! Breakfast was amazing! We had the all day breakfast, wedges & salmon bagel. Have returned several times since and service has been consistent 👌🏽 Pics are same meals & mochaz but different days. Have become a regular. Keep up the great service guys!

Spacious, large selection of sweet and savory baked goods. I loved the moist Belgian waffles drizzled with maple syrup, yogurt and berry compote. Mocha was excellent (though I’ve yet to find a place in New Zealand during my visit that doesn’t serve excellent coffee.)

We went here for lunch on Sunday.. We found that the food was very average.. The end of the sausage roll was hard and dry, the toast sandwich was sprinkled with an unusual sauce, and there was too much seasoning in the bread filling. So it Took over the taste.

It is a wonderful lil cafe by the road to Queenstown from invercargill. The customer attention that they give is really sweet. It's really affordable. I found the place really cute. The food is delicious and the attention to detail is amazing. The staff is really friendly. If i lived here, this would be my go to cafe.

Great food and even better front of house staff. Brilliantly made coffee. Lovely people here that give you a warm welcome and know how to make a good coffee. My ham, cheese and onion omelette was also very good.

Had lunch at Koji with a friend and we loved everything about it! The food was so good — everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and really yummy. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The atmosphere was also super nice — cozy, calm, and just the perfect vibe for a relaxing lunch. Definitely a spot I’d come back to. Highly recommend if you’re craving good Japanese food in a great setting!

Great restaurant, food was sooo good! Quick and kind service, clean too. Recommend booking as it's a busy place especially on the weekend. Might be a little awkward in a wheelchair, however I'm sure they would move a chair or two to accommodate you. Miso soup was the best I've had in a long time. Totally try this out, especially if you love Japanese cuisine!

“Meet me at Main Street?” “YES PLEASE” said the trio, emphatically. As soon as we spotted this gem from the car window, we whipped it around and slammed our Kia in park! Walking in to a large open space, with the buzz of locals meeting over exquisite elevated classics. Cheese rolls for the table, 2 mouse traps to keep the kids happy and fabulously flavour filled smashed avocado on toast (not pictured due to how quickly it was ganneted down. This place always has amazing service! I want to say that yesterday on the 25/10/25 around 3pm me and my family came in and got served by a guy that was training and another girl with short hair. They were both the sweetest humans! They were so kind with my special needs cousin and just had the best customer service! This place never disappoints!

One day, I asked the young male waiter for recommendations and placed my order. I forget the name of the dish, but this sandwich was very tasty, with a good balance of sour, spicy (possibly seasoned cabbage) and beef flavours. I happened to be in Invercargill on a business trip and would like to go back. And I want to order the same.

We ordered eggs Benedict, coffee, and a chocolate cake! The food was tasty, but the menu didn’t have many options. The wait time was around 20–25 minutes since the place was really busy on Sunday. There were tables available for groups, but not for two people right away, so we had to wait!

It’s a great spot, probably the best/most popular cafe in this town. The Blue Cod Butty is my go-to every time I have to come to this wonderful part of the world, I can’t say enough good about it, I’ve tried to replicate it at home but can’t seem to quite get it right. My only comment would be the coffee is a bit slow coming out, but they are trying to make coffee for 1/2 of Invercargill at 8:30am so it’s understandable. Keep up the good mahi team.

I was in 2 minds about writing this review because sometimes people get it wrong. But I leaned towards giving the review. One of our meals was great. The other, average would be generous. The “blue cod buttie” a pan fried fillet of Blue Cod, was neither pan fried, nor was is Blue Cod. Now don’t get me wrong, I like a good piece of Gurnard, which is what I was served, except it wasn’t good. At one point it had been battered and deep fried, but before it got to my plate it appeared to have been microwaved and the batter was soggy, the fish was dry and hotter than the sun itself. The salad and dressing were good, but it was hiding the paper thin, burnt toast underneath. Very disappointing for a place we have enjoyed in the past. We won’t be going back. Do better. Don’t lie about the meal you are serving. If you run out of something, let the customer know when they are ordering. And if you are replacing a part of the dish, cook it properly.

Although this cafe was obviously popular, our group were able to find a big table. The coffee was excellent, the cabinet food was good and there was a good range to choose from. The service couldn't be faulted. The space is modern and the toilets were impeccably clean. We would definitely return if we are ever in Invercargill again.

I've heard the scones are delicious, I can say the Eggs Benny is too. Great atmosphere and yummy treats.

This place is interesting and does have an extensive collection, but can be a little creepy with the dolls and rundown antique stuff. Nonetheless, we do recommend taking a look if you have the time. Plenty of duck, goose, chicken, peacock, etc. The host was very friendly and guided us as to where to go, including her very friendly dogs. We have had a nice chat with her. It was a difficult place to upkeep, thus do drop a donation at the end of your visit since there wasn’t no admission fees to this place.

A completely unique experience. Part pioneer village, a dash of salvaged local history, and a continual voyage of discovery. Every nook and cranny is crammed full of interesting goodies. Allow an hour, go with an open mind, and make some time to chat with the owner.

My wife, 10-month-old, and I today visited Demolition World not knowing much about it. We had a great time exploring the different nooks and crannies of the displays. Most of it was pram friendly and the chickens, even more friendly. Worth a stop if you are in town.

This should honestly be the top attraction in Invercargill. Had such a great time wandering around and seeing the little village and all the chickens.

Well this has been for sure one of the strangest experiences while travelling a new zeland for both me and my girlfriend. Lets start with the entrance. The place is easy to find and you will just about 100 metres on a gravel road before reaching the venue. We were greeted by couple of ducks and chicks driving through the “town” to get to second carpark as in the primary one there is a space for about 6 cars. The venue itself. Well lets just say its… bizzar at least. ITs a mixture of old and forgottwn stuff such as tools, toys, manequines (which make the whole experience VERY creepy) and nature. There is a LOT to see. We spent here about 2 hours going thoroughly through the whole “village”. There are sheds, remmnants of the days past, there is a car, there is a canon… whatever you can think of really and running amongst it, hundreds of ducks, chickens and geese. What an experience it is. There is also shop, so some of the stuff is for sale. It took the owner to build it as it is for nearly 2 decades. So mixed feelings. Especially on a cloudy day is kinda scary experience. But one I wont forget.

Very large set up. A lot of time and thought has clearly gone in to each and every section. It takes you ages to walk around everywhere which is good! Huge area at the end where you can look at all the windows doors and fittings they have available to purchase from demolition Jobs. My partner and I liked the zen hutt the most as it was minimal and peaceful. The water wheels were also a highlight as was the birdlife that you walk through during your time looking and exploring. Well worth the stop.

The start of the Estuary walk. A great place to read up on a bit of history, with some informative panels on the old railway line down the Estuary and out towards Otatara, and interesting facts. Good seating area.

The history of the wharf is interesting. Its ok for a look.

It's okay. There is a walk around the estuary & lake. There are many sea birds there. We caught a 3-4ft eel there. We were told not to eat anything from the lake, only the sea side of he bluff. The actual wharf at the city end, where the sea scout hut is derelict & is falling apart . It's fenced off. We fished this end at high tide from a cement boat slip.

Great old wharf with a lot of history attached to it. Interesting to read the about the old sailing ships that unloaded and reloaded. Replica of and old wooden railway that served the area as well. Estuary walk has some more interesting sites.

A war memorial erected by the citizens of Invercargill for the fallen war heroes who served in Vietnam, Malaya, Korea and in the 1914 Great War, who lived in Southland area. Located at the top portion of a small garden fronting to Dee Street. Magnificent view from the street due to the location and due to the black granite structure.

A place worth visiting and paying your respects for our falling forefathers

A memorial to those who served in great war. Has recently been refurbished and looks great. The light show at ANZAC was amazing

The site for Invercargill's memorial for those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom we are privileged to have. It commemorates the Great War, the Second World War. Korean War and other Twenth Century wars that New Zealand has been involved in. Travis VC is especially recorded (as he is on other Southland memorials) ANZAC services take place here as does Armistice day in November.

Invercargill Cenotaph. Historical site. Invercargills War Memorial used for commemoration. Statues of Admiral of the Fleet, Earl Jellicoe and Field Marshall Earl Kitchner are also located on site. Plaques commemorating the 50th anniversary of VE Day and VJ Day are located on the East side of the Cenotaph.

Pretty cool museum with interesting stuff and Lizards. The Art the had on this ray was just impressive. The museum itself quite modern and good infos. And its just a donation. So pretty good value especially on a rainy day. :)

Great little museum with many fascinating Maori artifacts.

Great place and the kids loved it. It's a shame that we didn't get to see Henry as we came in not long after it opened and it was too cold for him to come out of cover. If you wish to see Henry and his friends in winter, it's best to come in around lunch time or later.

I love my local Museum. The temporary exhibitions are always well worth dropping by to check out. Make some time in your lunch hour or on the way home. I especially love some of the quirkier displays. All is not perfect though. The building, is now out of time and out of place. Time to rip of the roof and build a structure that wont be limited in space by the terrible pyramid design. Get some of those items out of storage and up on display where they are meant to be. The building design was very cutting edge and impressive when first built but it has not aged well. Minerva is very lucky to have her back to the museum. Imagine how stunning she would look in front of a tall graceful building that blended with the magnificent Queens Park. The staff are great and the museum is a great place to take your children. We are very lucky to have such free easy access to the Tuatara and these displays.

Otepuni Gardens is a pleasant area to walk around. The Otepuni Stream runs through the park which is populated by ducks. The pic shows the Puni (abbreviated spelling) a day after a snowfall and melting, raising the level of the stream.

What an awesome formal garden as part of a town belt.

Nice tranquil area to the edge of Invercargill. Good for a walk, and a quieter way to walk up Tay Street.

This place is a wonderful garden to walk through in the summertime. A winding concrete path follows the river that runs through the center. At various points, there are bridges which you can cross and take in the magnificent view. Trees are good for shade and having picnics under. These are the things that make Otepuni Gardens the best place to relax and contemplate life. Amazing place, and a great, silent atmosphere. 5/5 stars.

Was here for stag day and the place was packed but the amount of people just pissing all around the ground with kids and wives near them was disgusting. I flew over from Australia for this and to see how badly organised and managed the whole game was, was unbelievable and disappointing. I really it was busy but before kick off they were expecting 10k and the staffing was just not there. I do not need my family seeing that

First time to a game. Great place if you are a rugby fan this is the place to go to for your rugby fill

I liike the dog walkin around there and the wee stream and railway tracks that hav trains at different times of the day its really pretty now with the pretty pink flowers on the trees very nice 2 walk around there 1st thing in morning

Great stadium for invercargill

Go the Stags! Terrance all the way. It's basic but it works and that's what's so great about it.

Our Whānau of 6 had a wonderful meal. Ordered online and everything was ready to devour on our arrival, cooked to perfection. The Cadillac platter had a great variety and our daughters loved their dishes. Generous portions and the JD dessert was delicious! Thank you Lone Star Team for making it extra special putting a candle on Hubby's dessert for his birthday. It was all executed better than I requested and your service from start to finish was warming, welcoming and professional. See you all for our next birthday celebration 😊

Outstanding Service and Hospitality! The staff were absolutely incredible tonight! warm, welcoming, and genuinely accommodating. When our order took a little longer than expected (over 10 minutes), they went above and beyond by covering the cost of our drinks, which we really appreciated. Special shout-out to Maddie, who was exceptionally kind and compassionate, and to the lovely Assistant Manager Shanaye, whose professionalism and attentiveness stood out. Both demonstrated outstanding customer service. Highly recommend this place for the great food and even better hospitality!

Friendly staff - quick to give us specials for evening and take drink order. As it got busier we were left for awhile before taking dessert orders. Food was pretty good. Meat patty in kids burger was pretty dry. Really enjoyed the bean dip. Thanks

First time being at the Lone Star Invercargill, welcoming atmosphere and staff were very lovely. Food was delicious and well flavoured the chefs did an excellent job. Was attended by Chiara who was off the bat in being polite, bubbly, funny, attentive and well read at reading the play she had that night. As a waitress myself she had the right cues. Amazing at customer service. Overall experience was outstanding. Will be back. -Chloe

Great n dinner and our server, Chiara was lovely. She listened to all our children chatting and was just incredibly kind to them. She made taking the kids out for dinner just that bit easier.

Fantastic evening at the Invercargill branch. The meal was excellent. We were celebrating my 84th birthday and our waitress (George) was the best ever. Welcoming, attentive and a preally nice person. Prawn Star was the dish we had and it was greapt.

The staff were excellent especially Jaycia and the front of house Lady. Food was also awesome. We were particularly impressed with Jaycia and her interaction being there when we needed her, with impeccable manners and making a great night Cheers Laurie and Karen Henry

Don't pre-order or it'll be cold because its been prepared far to early. It's fine if you order and wait for it so you get it ASAP. I'm not certain but I suspect they mix old and new fish. I've noticed in the last year that you seem to get 50-50 good fish to weird tasting fish. It's happened enough times I'm sure somethings different. I'm just not sure what it is specifically.

Made a mistake of going in during the afternoon instead of my usual time in the evening, and had a really unpleasant experience. I politely asked for a meal box for my fish and chips, but the girl at the counter rudely said no and told me to go to another shop. The evening staff are always so respectful, im a regular, and they even remember my order. Love their food but have to avoid going there at least in afternoon to just avoid her.

Went for the 3rd time to buy salmon pieces. I request each piece to be sliced in half and had no problems the first 2 times (on a weekend). Today 0930hrs on Friday 22/8/25 was told by the (?regular weekday staff) we sell “as is”. No other customers in the store. Would have taken them less than 1 min to make 2 slices with a knife. Makes fridge storage easy for me and I don’t have to handle again until eating time.I said “thats ok” and walked out. If this is the poor service you get for a very basic request …..then I don’t trust the care applied to the quality of fish in the background. The small details in background are questionable when at the front you essentially don’t care. Never again…would have carried on as a weekly customer.

I ordered 1 1/2 scoop of chips, crumbed blue whiting, crumbed scallops, mussel fritter. I got 1/2 scoop of chips, crumbed blue cod poorly cooked, battered scallops (soggy & gross) and a sub-par fritter. I had hoped to encourage child into eating new foods and they were all yuck.

Hands down the best fish and chips in Invers. The oil is fresh, really nice chips and low cost fresh available too. 1kg orange roughy cheap as!! Really lovely friendly staff too 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We had bluecod and scallops. The batter was so stodgy we couldn't enjoy the scallops. It's a shame because the fresh fish in the shop looked amazing.

I was hoping for a fresh Kina. I bought the one in a tub. Fish and chips were average. Customer service 3/5.
