Westfield Warringah Mall

Shopping mall
Westfield Warringah Mall offers a unique blend of indoor and outdoor shopping spaces, making it convenient for families with kids and shoppers alike. With 270 stores and various dining options, the mall provides ample opportunities for shopping, dining, or simply relaxing. Additionally, the mall is home to well-known brands like David Jones, Myer, Target, Big W, Bunnings, and Woolworths. The location also boasts a beachy ambiance and plenty of parking options.
Absolutely awesome mall… which doesn’t feel like a mall and is in no way claustrophobic… a beautiful jacaranda tree inside the mall took my breath away… such a caring and thoughtful gesture on the planning team… it has provided a unique layer to this… I would encourage this concept to be replicated in every mall if possible 🌳…100% great experience… ❤️

Westfield Warringah Mall is one of the best shopping centres in Sydney’s north. It has a huge variety of shops, great dining options, and plenty of parking. The layout is spacious and modern, making it easy to enjoy a relaxed shopping experience. Always clean, well-managed, and perfect for a full day out with family or friends.
Mohammad R — Google review
Light, airy and loads of shops. Plenty of parking and good food hall too. Also a great butcher shop in here. NB: I now know what ‘chicken salt’ is ! (It’s an Oz thing)
Marc S — Google review
Lots of shops and great selection and variety. Quite large containing a mix of fast food restaurants, cafes, clothing stores and sports shops. Great visit and an incredible food court with the likes of Mrs Jones the baker and simply noodles.
OSCAR — Google review
The Mall is really big, and literally has every big and small store I need. Parking on weekends can be a challenge, but with so many spots available it is always possible. Plenty of food outlets and a great cinema too.
Douglas G — Google review
I go here all the time, it's great, a little outdated but it has most shops you would need on a weekly basis. It's not very difficult to navigate through, unlike Chatswood and Macquarie, but that's of course because it is significantly smaller than each of those. The bus stop that's actually inside the shopping mall is amazing, no extra walking needed.
Hixon M — Google review
It’s been over two months now with no lights working near Liquorland and the Coles car park area. This has created an unsafe environment, especially during the evening. It’s quite concerning as the lack of lighting increases the risk of accidents and makes the area feel unsafe, with suspicious activity often noticed at night. It’s disappointing that this issue hasn’t been addressed for such a long time. The safety of customers and staff should be a top priority, and I hope the management takes immediate action to fix the lighting and improve security in the car park.
Arvind C — Google review
The escalators are CONSTANTLY not working. Was never an issue until Westfield took ownership. Is it a ploy so us plebs then are forced to do a huge circuit and walk past more retail or Westfield are cheap?

Wow! Fantastic venue and experience! Jake patiently lead our group through this experience giving us all so much confidence that we all felt like pros and we had the best fun! This is definitely a venue to return to. A great adult adventure where everyone relaxed quickly and laughed continuously and there are plenty of other activities too to entertain and return to although axe throwing tops the list! Thanks so much for the best night out! Who would have thought that throwing an axe could bring so much joy and the optional dress ups had us all in stitches! Thanks Jake for the best birthday night out ever...it was unforgettable and we will defintely be back again soon!!!!

Regardless of my rookie axe throwing skills we had a fun experience and so full of laughter. Danni was the perfect party host and helped to make it even better. The other games boosted our time spent playing.

A HUGE THANKS to Jake at Kiss My Axe Brookvale for such a brilliant experience! We had a group go there for a birthday and he spent the time to make us all feel confident throwing axes in various different games to a target. We felt like pros in the end and couldnt stop laughing throughout the whole adventure...complete with viking head dress for those that needed added inspiration AND photos! This place is also great just for a social catch up and a huge ice breaker for all different personality times of all ages...coaxing out a competitor in even quiet, reserved personalities. This will be our new catch up hang out! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

Our axe throwing experience was amazing - but what was truly amazing was our hostess - Abbie! She was fun and very well coming! Manly Dam is a picturesque native bush park located near Manly, just a short drive from the city center. Originally built in the late 19th century to supply water to Sydney's famous seaside suburb, it now offers a range of recreational activities for visitors. The glistening freshwater lake is perfect for swimming, fishing, paddling, and water-skiing. Picnic areas dot the banks of the dam, providing an ideal setting for leisurely lunches.
Fit for Kayaking, SUP, bush walking, bird watching and picnic. Lovely playground and renovated bathroom. On site parking is $8 per hour, $40 for all day. Or you can park on the roadside in the nearby residence area and walk around 10minutes.

Manly Dam Walk is an absolute must-visit for nature lovers, hikers, and anyone looking to escape the city hustle! This scenic trail offers a perfect mix of bushland, water views, and peaceful surroundings, making it a five-star experience all around. The diverse landscapes along the walk—from towering eucalyptus trees to the sparkling waters of the dam—make every step visually stunning. Wildlife is abundant, with birds chirping and the occasional sighting of native animals, adding to the immersive atmosphere. The trail itself is well-maintained, with easy-to-follow paths suitable for all fitness levels. Whether you're after a relaxing stroll, a refreshing swim, or a scenic picnic, Manly Dam delivers on all fronts. It’s a hidden treasure that feels like a world away, yet it is just a short drive from the city. It's a perfect spot for a weekend getaway! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great fun walk. Did the loop on around 3 hours with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the board walk with pleasant water views. The full moon made it even better for a great evening walk.
Prasanna M — Google review
Lovely walking track loop with water views, wild flowers, birds chirping… also some parts are a bit not easy for some people especially from the top (North)towards the eastern part. The western half is more beautiful with 2 beautiful waterfalls and less difficulty but currently the water side track is closed because they upgrade to it. Some app said it’s 3hours circuit but we finished it in 2 hours 10min Wanna go again.
Cherrie — Google review
3 hours park circuit track, most trails are well maintained, some are boardwalk, but some are slippery. There are no clear guide at split track, so easy to lost the way.

Manly Wormhole

4.7
(651)
Historical landmark
Manly Wormhole is a historic tunnel that connects Queenscliff at the north end of Manly Beach with Freshwater, a beloved strip of sand known as 'Freshie.' This area holds significance as it was where surfing was first introduced to Australians in 1914. The wormhole offers a unique and somewhat secret lookout point in Sydney, accessible with some local knowledge.
If you’re in the area visiting the beach, this is definitely a worthwhile detour. It’s just a short walk along the rocks, and the waves crashing up make it extra fun—everyone enjoyed trying to dodge the splashes. A quick stop that adds a little adventure to your day!
Steve S — Google review
A cool feature worth checking out if you’re already in the area, but not worth marking any special trip for. A quick 5 minute walk over the rocks to get there with some cool views at the end!
Ian L — Google review
The scenery on both sides of the tunnel is beautiful. Although the route is short and not very rough, it is on the edge of a cliff, so caution is advised when traveling. It's best to visit on a sunny day to avoid slippery terrain. Suggest to visit during low tide to reduce the chance of large waves. A sun hat is recommended, it not only provides some protection from minor collisions, but also protects against water dripping from the tunnel.
Et — Google review
A hidden gem!!! Manly Wormhole offers a great lovely view over the ocean. Easy short access from the manly beach. Sunset is the best time to visit to capture nice photos. Highly recommended!!!
Kia K — Google review
One of our favourite hidden gems in Sydney! 🌊 We’ve been heading down to the Manly Wormhole to watch the big ocean sprays up close — and wow, it’s absolutely spectacular! 🌬️💦 There’s something magical about standing at the edge of the rock tunnel, hearing the roar of the waves, and feeling the salty spray on your face. It’s raw, powerful, and so beautiful. 🌅🌊✨ Just make sure to wear good shoes (it can be slippery!) and check the tide — but if you catch it at the right time, it's unforgettable. A must-see for locals and visitors alike! 👣📸💙
Marie C — Google review
A lovely hidden gem not far from Manly beach. A short walk towards the end of the beach, right after the outdoor pool. Go along the left side of the pool you will a stone cliff, from there just go along the rocks, just be careful with your steps. You will see the hollow cave right infront. Walk through the hole, you be amazed by the view. Difficulty: 3/5 View:5/5 Please do not leave any garbage when you leave the place. Keep it clean for others to enjoy.
Fairuz A — Google review
Only visit this place if you are sure of your footing. The scenery once through the man made tunnel is beautiful, but it's beautiful around the corner without endangering your life. But I enjoyed the challenge of jumping over crevices and climbing over the rocks to get to our.
Michele B — Google review
If you’re planning to visit Northern Beaches, a short walk from the northern end of the Queenscliff Beach near the pool & towards the rocks is definitely worth a try! The walk may be a little bit challenging and rocks could get slippery specially on a bad day. Suggest to go there early in the morning just before the sun rises on summer months. The view is absolutely stunning and you definitely won’t regret waking up so early. Plus you get the perks of having the place all to yourselves! 💙

Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, located about 40 minutes north of Sydney, is a haven for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike. One picnic stop has lots of options for tables and gas BBQs available. The picnic stop also has reasonable toilet facilities, including a working soap dispenser. Lots of brush turkeys and even a Goana. Just remember to keep your distance as their claws will make mince meat of you if you get too close.

There are endless activities to enjoy in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Swim, hike, ride, drive, learn and immerse yourself in a beautifully preserved slice of the bush. Easily accessed and all the rangers are very kind. It’s important to treat the park with respect and always take all rubbish out with you.

A rocky but easy hike down to this beautiful spot, a little steep in places. Although we didn't end up at the part we thought we would, it was great to cool down with a dip and then relax in the sun while being visited by the curious bush turkeys.

Brookvale Oval located in the northern beaches of sydney is home to the manly sea eagles. The stadium is quite old with only a few minor redevolpments over the last couple of years. Davidson Park is a serene creekside park located within the Garigal National Park, about 40 minutes from Sydney's CBD. It offers picnic and BBQ facilities, hiking trails, canoe rentals near a boat ramp, and a netted swimming area by Middle Harbour Creek. The park features open grassy areas with free barbecues and ample parking space. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful waterside setting surrounded by eucalyptus trees for shade.
5 stars Davidson Picnic Area is such a beautiful park! There’s a lovely bush walk, a huge area to play, and even ducklings to feed. It’s calm and peaceful—great for relaxing or having a picnic. Also a nice spot for fishing. Parking is $8, which is fair for a day out in nature. Perfect place for families or anyone who loves the outdoors!
Hashini N — Google review
Absolutely loved my time at Davidson Park! 🌿 The views are stunning—calm waters, lush greenery, and a peaceful atmosphere that feels miles away from the city noise and traffic. It’s the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy quality time with your family and kids. We had a lovely BBQ by the water, and the facilities made everything so easy and enjoyable. You can even try a bit of fishing from the side, or just sit back and soak in the natural beauty. Whether it’s a quiet afternoon or a full-day outing, this place truly has it all. Highly recommended!

Davidson park is an extremely special place to me. i spent a day there with my boyfriend and it was magical. The small bridges are cute, the grass is nice to lay on, there were ducklings! I felt completely and utterly relaxed and at home when I was at Davidson park. My only issue with the park is its lack of easy accessibility for pedestrians. It seems unnecessarily complicated to get there on foot at times. This doesn’t outweigh how much I love this park! I recommend you come here for a beautiful picnic day or to read in the sun.
Ashley G — Google review
Peaceful place by the water with lush greens around. Best part of the park is the parking spaces being so close to the picnic spits. Was easy for my parents to access the spots closer to the water.

Nature & Parks
Manly Beach is a popular and bustling beachfront destination in Sydney, known for its golden sands, pine trees, and excellent surfing opportunities. It consists of three beaches - South Steyne, North Steyne, and Queenscliff - stretching almost two kilometers along the coast. Visitors can take the iconic Manly Ferry from Circular Quay to enjoy stunning views of Sydney's landmarks before arriving at the beach.
We can enjoy this beautiful beach. A calm and serene beach. Very clean and clear. The sand is fine to coarse on this beach. You can find a lot of seagulls here. We find many food courts, cafes, nearby to enjoy the beach and have your food. This beach is a closed one, tides are high, so don't get deep into sea here. The sea pulls us faster into it. So be alert when you are planning to enjoy this beach. Beaches are always a serene space and provide calmness. Should always enjoy it whenever we need grounding for ourselves. And we are confused. These open beaches can transform our thoughts and rejuvenate us, when we keep observing the sea and the surroundings. So enjoy your solitude here or with family. Take a ferry from Circular Quay to Manly in the morning, enjoy the food, surroundings and the beach, return back to Circular Quay during sunset, you will love the transition. Manly wharf is also really beautiful, there are few food spots in it. I recommend you to have this experience once in your life!
Anusha M — Google review
Manly Beach is absolutely stunning! The sand is clean, the water is crystal clear, and the whole area has such a relaxing holiday vibe. It’s perfect for swimming, surfing, or just enjoying a walk along the promenade. There are plenty of cafés, restaurants, and shops nearby, so you can easily spend the whole day here. The ferry ride from Circular Quay to Manly is also a beautiful experience on its own. Truly one of Sydney’s must-visit beaches — highly recommended! 🌊☀️
Mohammad R — Google review
My first trip to an Australian beach was to Manly, and it was amazing! The ferry ride from the city was beautiful, seeing the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge from the water is something I will never forget. When I arrived, I was so impressed. The sand is so soft and white, and the beach is so long and wide. It's different from the beaches in Phuket or Koh Samui; the vibe here is very active, with so many people surfing! The water was a beautiful clear blue, a little chilly for me, but so refreshing. I loved walking along The Corso, grabbing some fish and chips, and just watching everyone enjoy the sun. It felt so relaxing and happy. Manly Beach has a wonderful, laid-back feeling that is the perfect introduction to the famous Australian beach culture. It’s a day trip I would recommend to any of my friends back home in Thailand!

Beautiful sunny beach, with sand, old big pine tree, rock and small cave. Few mile from Sydney, by ferry with good view during transport. Good choice if you wanna stay away from busy Sydney
Văn N — Google review
One of Sydney’s iconic beaches it was great to visit it during our recent stay. Gee it was busy around both the beach and town area. But that didn’t stop me from venturing in for a little swim and a play in the waves. The waves are huge and I was knocked over twice but that’s part of the fun right. Whilst we sat on the beach we witnessed a surf rescue. Those guys are superb at what they do.
Shaun L — Google review
Offer a perfect mix of laid-back vibes and stunning coastal views, ideal for both surfers and families. The scenic ferry ride from Circular Quay adds to the charm of the experience. Plenty of cafés, shops, and walking paths make it great for a day out.

A popular beach. There is a cave that can go through. It’s interesting. Also a good place to take lots of photos
李芷萱 — Google review
Manly Beach is one of Sydney’s most iconic seaside escapes, just a 30-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay. The journey itself is already a treat, offering postcard-perfect views of Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, and Harbour Bridge. Once you arrive, Manly greets you with a long stretch of golden sand, rolling waves perfect for surfing, and a lively esplanade lined with cafés, pubs, and shops. Compared to Bondi, Manly feels more laid-back and family-friendly, making it a great spot for a relaxed swim, beach walk, or simply soaking up the coastal atmosphere. If you visit on a weekend, you’ll also find a vibrant market with stalls showcasing local products, handmade crafts, and unique souvenirs — a wonderful way to discover more about Australia in general, and Sydney in particular.

Freshwater Beach, affectionately known as "Freshie," holds a special place in Australian surfing history as the birthplace of the sport. It continues to be a popular spot for surfers due to its consistent swells and wave-washed rock pool at the northern end, making it ideal for families. Situated next to Manly, Freshwater Beach offers a more budget-friendly living option with fewer tourists compared to its neighbor.
One of the best beaches in Sydney. Entrance in to the water is very flat and you can go out a fair bit before it gets deep. Good waves for learning how to surf.

One of the best beaches at northern beaches area. Free street parking just 600-700meters from beach. However, not much in terms of food and shops.

Freshwater beach is a real tourist favourite. It is fairly sheltered by big headlands on both sides so you dont get eaves in as many conditions as you do North or South at Curly or Manly but they are great waves on their day. Fantastic walk along the headlands from Curl Curl and an even more interesting one along the rocks towards Manly.

Bicycle Shop
Manly Bike Tours offers guided tours with knowledgeable guides who share the area's history and provide access to exclusive landmarks. The tour price includes bike rental, helmet, and refreshments. You can also rent a beach cruiser for a leisurely ride along Cabbage Tree Bay cycle path at an hourly rate. Each bike comes with a pocket bag for essentials and a laminated map attached to the handlebars. Booking is convenient online, and e-bikes are available but not as powerful as some may prefer.
Great fun! Easy to ride e-bikes. Jimmy was excellent! Spent time with us and answered all our questions, provided us with lots of details of where to ride to see all the Manly sites. Made it to the North Head easily. An exhilarating fun day!

I was looking for an e-bike just for commuting and Manly Bike happened to have a great deal on their used e-bikes. I’m so happy I got mine from them - good price and quality. When I picked up the bike, they had done a full service: changed the brake pads, added lights, included a lock, all sorted. Sebastian, who helped us, was absolutely lovely and very helpful. I highly recommend this shop if you’re looking for a bike in Manly!

Had an amazing day trip thanks to Manly Bikes! The whole experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. Their prices are totally transparent no hidden fees or surprises, which is a big plus. The location couldn't be more convenient, right next to the Manly ferry terminal, making it super easy to get started as soon as you arrive. The bikes were in excellent condition, clearly well-maintained, and perfect for a no-fuss ride around the area. What really stood out was the exceptional service. The team was friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. I even lost my sunglasses, and they went out of their way to find them and post them back to me. Totally unexpected and really appreciated. Just honest, good people running a great local business. Highly recommend if you're looking for a stress-free, enjoyable way to explore Manly!

After taking ferry to Manly, I spontaneously decided to rent an e-bike from Manly Bike rentals for a quick trip to Notth Head and the beach. They were super helpful and had me on the road on quality e-bike within < 15min. Drop off was simple and the hourly rate was a good deal. I would definitely rent there again.

The team at Manly Bikes is always ready to help. They’ve saved me more than once when I had issues with my bike and have also done excellent service work for me. They are truly a dedicated team, and I wouldn’t hesitate to keep choosing them as my go-to bike shop.

We had a great time with the mountain bikes hired from Manly Bikes. The service was great - as they answered all of my questions via email a few days before, and upon arrival it didn't take them too long to prepare the bikes... They even went the extra mile to correctly pump up the shocks based on our weights - many hire places don't bother with this but it was so good that they did! They even provided route ideas and a map via an app for our mountain bike adventure around the nearby Manly Dam. The bikes were decent - but the loss of one star is because they were a bit dirty from a previous hire, the back brake on mine made a very loud groaning sound, and when in the large (easy) years, they felt very grindy and squeaky... I think the chain desperately needed some lube! Otherwise all good. We would hire from here again.

Second time hiring electric bikes from Manly Bike hire and once again received excellent service. Great advice for routes from the friendly staff and the bikes were comfortable and high quality. A fabulous family activity.

On 05/09, my partner and I went to Manly Bike to hire bikes while celebrating my birthday, and it was such a wonderful experience! Nestled just a short stroll from Manly Wharf, the Manly Art Gallery & Museum is a charming destination that art enthusiasts shouldn't miss. Established in 1930, this gallery showcases an impressive array of contemporary and early Australian artworks, with a particular emphasis on ceramics and the works of renowned artist Antonio Dattilo-Rubbo. Visitors can immerse themselves in various exhibitions, including special events like 'Manly by Ferry: Treasures from the Vault,' which celebrates Sydney's iconic harbour transport.
Not a big gallery but cozy and has lots of interesting art works ❤️

The Manly Art Museum is a charming gallery with a peaceful atmosphere and a thoughtfully curated selection of exhibitions. The staff are generally friendly, and the space is a nice cultural stop in Manly. Since my parents just bought a house nearby, I’ve been exploring the area to get to know the surroundings, and the museum seemed like a great place to start. That said, my experience was slightly mixed. As a 25-year-old Chinese visitor carrying a backpack, I was asked to leave my bag at reception due to concerns it might inadvertently damage the galleries. While I understand the reasoning and the importance of protecting artworks, the way it was handled felt a little uncomfortable and carried a subtle undertone of bias as most other visitors are white elderly people, i guess the receptionist may find Asian less "reliable" 😆 I chose not to make an issue of it—especially since the receptionist was elderly and likely just following protocol—but it did leave me wishing for a bit more sensitivity. Still, the exhibitions themselves are enjoyable, and I’ll likely introduce this great place to other friends.

It is a wonderful place for anyone who love art and history. The permanent exhibits quite good place to spend sometime if you are bored around manly beach. Clean, well maintained, air conditioned and spacious. It has ceramics from different parts of the world, including European, Asian and aboriginal works. Next to that, it’s very well organized. The entry is free, however you need to pay if you wish to visit an additional exposition. The outdoor ocean view is fantastic.

Manly Kayak Centre offers the perfect opportunity to explore the tranquil waters of Manly Dam at your own pace by renting a kayak. In addition to this idyllic dam, visitors can discover North Harbour's seas and secluded beaches like Collins Beach and Store Beach, or enjoy snorkeling in Manly Cove. The center's staff are known for their warmth and knowledge, providing excellent service for activities such as beach proposals or group kayak rentals.
Hired a boat for four hours and had a great time. There were four of us onboard. Would highly recommend. The only negative was getting back into the boat after going for a swim, we had to bring the boat to the beach to step up as there was no ladder to climb up.

Fantastic First Kayak with Manly Kayak Centre! My first kayaking experience with Manly Kayak Centre was fantastic! The instructor was incredibly helpful and patient, making me feel comfortable and confident from the start. The centre was well-equipped, and the briefing was thorough. Paddling along the beautiful beaches around Manly was a truly special experience, offering stunning views. Thanks to the excellent guidance, I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the coastline from a new perspective. Highly recommend Manly Kayak Adventures for beginners and anyone wanting to enjoy Manly's beautiful waters!

Had a fantastic experience with Manly Kayak Centre yesterday. We booked a double kayak with my parents who are over 60 and had never kayaked before. Craig was super lovely and helped explain how to kayak and made sure that we were all really comfortable. He let us know that the wind conditions would be against us on our way back and to call him if we needed anything. My parents were quite tired after the initial kayak so we didn’t want to risk them getting overexerted, we gave Craig a call and he came to pick us up from the beach via boat. Super lovely experience and would not hesitate to recommend! Thanks Craig and team!

I booked 4 hours kayak for myself, which was perfect to visit all beaches along the bay! Had the time of my life exploring the coast and battling the waves. Craig and Jeni were very supportive, they made sure I was safe at all times. When the winds got too strong, Craig brought me back to the wharf by boat. Many thanks, would do it again 🤩
Yosquin G — Google review
Craig is a very helpful and affable host, and very in tune with the safety and comfort of his customers. He will go out of his way to make sure their time on the water is the best it can possibly be. If the weather turns unexpectedly he will make sure all the craft are contacted and if necessary he will bring everyone back to shore before any dangerous conditions arise. We have been hiring kayaks from Craig of Manly Kayaks for nearly twenty years and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Shelly Beach

Outdoor Activities
Shelly Beach, located in Manly NSW, is a serene and picturesque cove just a short walk from the bustling Manly Beach. It is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and rich marine life, making it a favorite destination for snorkelers, scuba divers, and sunbathers seeking a peaceful coastal retreat. Unlike other Sydney beaches, Shelly Beach faces west, offering an exceptional setting to soak up the afternoon sun or witness stunning sunsets.
Shelly Beach feels like a little lagoon at the edge of the city. The walk from Manly builds the anticipation, then the headland opens and you see a neat curve of sand, rock shelves on both sides and water that often looks as clear as glass. Mornings are lovely here. Locals filter in with masks and fins, kids do the sand shuffle at the shoreline, and you can hear the low boom of swell on the outer reef while the bay itself stays calm. It is one of those places where you drop your towel, take a breath and feel the pace of the day soften. Bring a snorkel if you can. This is part of a marine reserve, and it shows. Float over ribbons of kelp and scattered boulders and you will usually spot schools of sweep and mado, the odd ray sliding across the sand and, if you are lucky, a blue groper cruising like it owns the place. Entry from the sand is simple and friendly for beginners. On days with a little surge, fins help and it pays to stay closer to the centre of the bay. The water clarity can be excellent after a run of light winds, so early starts often reward you with the best visibility and fewer people. Everything you need sits close by. There are toilets, showers and taps behind the beach, barbecues and picnic tables tucked under the trees, and a café at the back for coffee or something cold between swims. Shade on the sand is limited, so a hat, water and sunscreen make life easier. Parking on nearby streets fills quickly on sunny weekends; the ferry to Manly and a short stroll along the path is the stress free option. Leave nothing but footprints, give the wildlife space and linger a little after your swim. Watching the colour of the bay shift while you warm up on the rocks is half the joy of Shelly.

Nature & Parks
Sydney Harbour National Park is a stunning destination offering scenic water views, hiking trails, and picnic facilities. It comprises protected areas along the harbor's edge, providing visitors with the opportunity to explore relatively untouched natural landscapes close to the city. The park features sandstone cliffs, bushland tracks, secluded beaches, and diverse wildlife. With its 970 acres of breathtaking beaches and coastal trails, the park offers a wide range of activities such as swimming spots, walking tracks, and picturesque picnic areas.
One of the most incredible national parks you can visit. On the edge of the ocean sits two sections of this park. One located near manly while the other one is south in Watson's bay. Both offer breathtaking views of the ocean and the Australian coast. Hiking opportunities are abundant with a variety of flora and fauna. There are also a significant amount of well established lookout points towards the sea, coast, and even the city. This is a must visit if you haven't been.

The Sydney Harbour National Park on Sydney’s North Harbour is absolutely stunning! The cove boasts crystal-clear waters and golden sandy beaches, all nestled within the lush green canopy of the National Park. It’s a slice of paradise that feels a world away from the city. You can explore this magical area by kayak, SUP, or boat with Manly Kayak Centre. They even offer guided kayak tours if you want to learn more about the history and hidden gems of the cove. There’s a stack of fun things to do; everything from SUPBALL, their unique and epic SUP board game (seriously, if you haven’t tried it, you must), to SUP lessons, kayak fitness sessions, SUP yoga, and more. They even do picnics in paradise - need I say more? There’s a secluded beach you can only access by water, a small but sweet waterfall, and the historic Quarantine Station, which is well worth a visit. They run fascinating history tours, and the site includes a bar, cafe, and restaurant. Keep an eye out for events like Sunset Sessions, where you can enjoy drinks and live music while watching the sun go down over Sydney - it's truly a 'wow' moment. And of course, Manly’s famous “office area” on East Esplanade is one of the best spots in Sydney to catch the sunset.

If you’re visiting Manly, you definitely don’t want to miss Sydney Harbour National Park — especially the North Head area. We were travelling without a car and found it super easy and budget-friendly to get there. Getting There Without a Car From the City to Manly: Catch a ferry from Circular Quay to Manly Wharf. It's a scenic ride that offers great views of the harbour. From Manly Wharf to North Head: Once at Manly, take the 161 bus operated by Keolis Downer Northern Beaches. This loop service departs from Manly Wharf, East Esplanade, Stand C and heads towards North Head. The journey takes approximately 4 minutes and costs between $1 to $4. Buses run every 30 minutes daily from around 6:42 AM to 7:42 PM. 🚶‍♀️ Exploring North Head North Head offers stunning clifftop views, walking tracks, and historical sites. The Fairfax Walk is a popular short trail leading to several lookouts with panoramic views of the ocean and Sydney skyline. It's a must-visit spot for nature lovers and photographers. 🚗 Parking Information (For Reference) If you're considering visiting other parts of Sydney Harbour National Park in the future, here are some parking details: Bradleys Head: $8 per vehicle per day. North Head: $5 per vehicle per day. Chowder Bay: Monday–Friday: $3 per hour, up to $16/day. Weekends & Public Holidays: $4 per hour, up to $20/day. Payment can be made via card or phone at pay machines. Coin payments are available at Fairfax carpark machines only. Holders of an NPWS All Parks or Multi Parks Pass can park free for up to four hours per day; additional time can be purchased. Honestly, this is one of those places where nature just speaks for itself. Peaceful, scenic, and full of history. We didn’t expect to love it this much, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our Sydney trip.

Peaceful, adventurous and beautiful place with absolutely breathtaking views of the sea. The Hornby lighthouse stand in the middle of the walking loop where you can take stunning photos of the cliff, ocean and the sky altogether.

I walked from Manly city to the north shore of the Sydney Harbour Nationalpark and had such a wonderful time! The walk is truly beautiful. Stunning nature, great lookouts and what a beautiful view over the ocean. You can even see the skyline of Sydney if you walk to the city lookout. I also walked the fairfax loop which I would definitely recommend doing! There is so much to enjoy: nature, cliffs, the skyline of Sydney and birds. The return walk to manly took me a little more than two hours. If you stop more often and walk a slower pace it‘s probably around 2,5 to 3 hours. There also is a cafe on the north shore which looked really nice!

Nestled in the heart of Dee Why, Stony Range Regional Botanic Garden is a cherished oasis that offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of suburban life. This volunteer-maintained park is perfect for leisurely strolls or peaceful lunch breaks amidst its easy-to-navigate paths lined with fascinating flora. Visitors often encounter friendly wildlife, including brush turkeys and kookaburras, adding to the garden's charm.
A beloved secret sanctuary in the hub of Dee Why. One that we all need, and one that we need to protect. Always a pleasure to visit, and to leave refreshed and healed. A place for kids and parents, meditators and wanderers. Soothing for the soul. Well-managed by a dedicated group of volunteers, this reserve was saved from an abandoned quarry which is now a priceless gem of green space that gives back to the community by merely existing. Paths meander so you're never bored and increase private contemplation. Some are accessible by wheelchair or pram, offering respite for all members of the community. Bush turkeys, kookaburras, blue tongues, magpies, native mynas, lorikeets and more native animals call this place their home. Huge old trees, spirit giants look upon the grounds. It's such a magical place to enjoy and cherish. It's free to enter, so do pop in a hold coin or a donation to keep the place going. Thank you to all the volunteers for letting us enjoy this beautiful reserve in all its majesty.

I love this little volunteer maintained park in the heart of the northern beaches. It's one of my favorite places to take a lunch break and have a quiet walk. I would think on the weekends it may get a little busy, but during the week it usually quiet and peaceful. The tracks are easy to navigate with lots of interesting plants. There's a gaggle of brush turkey's that live there and there's a good chance you'll be visited by a kookaburra or two if your having a bite to eat. It's always a couple of degrees cooler in the park amongst the trees in summer. Plenty of seating and there are bubblers and toilets. A great place to visit !

If you don’t like to pay ridiculous amounts of parking fees and don’t mind a walk up to 1km at most, I would suggest parking in either Peal Place in Warriewood to the north, or to the west of North Narrabeen SLSC in the back streets for free all day parking. Great location to watch and photograph sunsets and also has a massive rock shelf with pools to the north for the kids.

Greatest Area on Sydney is the Northern Beaches & Narrabeen is a wonderfull place to stay & just relax by the water
My B — Google review
North Narrabeen Rockpool is absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. Walking around the pool with the waves splashing and the golden colours of the sun reflecting on the water felt so peaceful and magical. It’s a beautiful spot to relax, take in the views, and enjoy nature at its best. Highly recommend visiting at sunset for the most breathtaking experience!
Anisha L — Google review
Located on the Northern Beaches. Large rock pool which is clean and well maintained with lanes marked for swimming laps. Scenic views down to Collaroy, Long Reef and is adjacent to Narrabeen Lagoon. Parking area located about 100 metres away with facilities such as showers and toilets available. A great location at sunrise or sunset for photos.
Paul C — Google review
A great place for not only surfing and swimming in the sea but also a perfect place for families with kids. There’s a lagoon and a rockpool next to the sea that kids can safely swim and enjoy! The upgraded toilet and shower facility just close to the beach is another advantage of this fantastic beach.
Nikta P — Google review
Great family beach. Can swim in inlet, rock pool, beach pool or beach itself giving plenty of options depending on the age group. Wheelchair access and decent amenities available (locked at sunset). There is a BBQ and two picnic tables available near the parking lot. Parking is paid and limited however.
Leah R — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous rock pool on the Northern beaches. You should anticipate paying for parking if you are not a resident, but is well with it. There is also a large area where you can play in little rock pools at low tide, though caution is advised to be aware of waves and keeping a safe distance from the cliff. Great for families and brilliant views of the beaches.
Stefan P — Google review
One of my favorite locations on the Northern Beaches. Amazing rock pool, and 50m ocean pool with lane markings for swimming. Plenty of space for kids to play with views all the way down to Collaroy, Longreef and right next to the inlet to Narrabeen Lagoon/Lake. Easy parking, showers and toilets available. A Stunning location for Sunrise or Sunset

Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden is a hidden gem adjacent to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park in Sydney's north, spanning 123 hectares of native Australian plants sourced from across the country. It offers opportunities for bushwalking, picnicking, and environmental education. The well-marked trails cater to various levels and provide a chance to spot diverse bird species like yellow-tailed black cockatoos and king parrots.
Perfect place for events and gatherings and hikes. The welcome center has cute botanical gifts for sale and a native plants nursery out back. Out front they have labelled plants in water showing you what's in bloom for the season. Lots of unique landscapes to explore and so much space for kids and hikes. The public restroom by the pavilion was tiled with hand painted native plants and I loved the details. (:

A lovely hidden treasure in arms reach of Sydney’s CBD, offer numerous tracks that are ideal for people looking for an easy to medium walking track. Whilst I’ve given the spot an overall score of 4 stars, parts of the walk are well worthy of 5 stars. It just has about of suburban elements in their like playgrounds, fences etc that take away the natural environment. Watch out for leeches along the trails, we needed to stop are remove leeches along the walk. Parking is eas.

This Wildflower Garden is such a beautiful location. There is a range of walks around, and the paths are all very well looked after. It is nice to come here, pack some lunch, and explore the gardens. There is a wide range of native plants across the gardens, and there are plenty of native birds and other animals. Thank you to all the staff who manage and maintain everything here. It is a must visit if you want a peaceful and relaxing day 😊

Had a great morning walk with friends on the Mueller Trak. Lots of nature with flora and fauna surprises every where. However did have to create our own alternate path because of a fallen tree on the actual path. Almost had an accident because of this. Wish they can regularly check that the path is in safe condition

Great place for exploring and bush walks with a few trails. There are trails that have asphalt surface suitable for wheelchair and bikes although does go downhill and back up. Also boardwalk trail taking you around the pond. The bushwalk trail (grade3?) takes a couple of hours taking you to the creek and a couple of waterfalls but watch for leeches. We had a couple of suckers on our shoes...luckily we noticed before they latched on.

A great place to spend several hours hiking, walking, bird-watching, picnicking, learning, and more. Trails are clearly laid out with accurate distances and times to complete. Easy to follow. It was a busy day when we were there, but at times on our hike, we felt alone in a large peaceful green and remote environment. Privileged to see a group of yellow-tailed black cockatoos, a pair of king parrots, and other birds. A large section of the trails in this reserve/garden are tarred, making them wheelchair friendly. Also ideal for school excursions and children's parties

So many short walking tracks that are kid friendly. The Senses walking track is also pram friendly. There is a playground with BBQ facilities as well. Pack a picnic and you can spend several hours exploring here!

North Narrabeen Beach is a true gem along Sydney's coastline, renowned for its exceptional surf conditions that draw wave riders from all corners of the city. Stretching over three kilometers, this beach offers not only fantastic surfing opportunities but also a safe haven for swimmers and families looking to enjoy a day by the water. The northern end provides shelter from winds, making it particularly appealing for surfers, while the expansive sandy areas are perfect for sunbathing and swimming.
A place that has everything. Close to the city, will definitely turn your holiday mood on with a lake and beach together. On the lake you can kayak or boat. Kayak or boat can be hired. Next to beach is large swimming pool. You can also do rockfishing but be careful the water can be rough. There is a holiday park very close if you are staying the night or have a caravan.

North Narrabeen Beach is an iconic National Surfing Reserve famous for its reliable breaks, making it a favorite for experienced surfers. It features a large ocean pool for calmer swimming, and its location next to Narrabeen Lagoon provides options for families, kayaking, and cycling. It's a picturesque spot with a relaxed coastal vibe.

Off the main drag so it's quiet in the weekdays. Good food at the lagoon end (café or mexicana restaurant open in the day time). At the other end there's a kids playground, surf shack and public sea pools.
THC P — Google review
Ample of parking. Some of it is metered between 7am and 7 pm. Very family friendly beach with plenty of shallow water for the kids. 🏖🏖

Love this beach. Very clean and have a lifeguard between 9-5pm. Have a toilet and shower near beach. Have 2x restaurant very close to a beach. Love this place.

Great beach. Just in case you aren't aware like me and a bunch of other drivers that day: YELLOW LINES means NO PARKING. Hope this helps.

Great surf club cafe, fenced playground, many cafes close by, North Narrabeen lagoon adjacent and public transport convenient (bus or Keoride). Beautiful coastal views. Not crowded like other beaches in the area. Highly recommended!

Curl Curl Boardwalk is a picturesque and easy trail that offers stunning views of the rugged coastline and sandy foreshore as it leads to Curl Curl Beach. The boardwalk hugs the beach and cliff edge, providing fabulous ocean views, striking rock formations, rock-pools, sea birds, and native coastal plants. It is wheelchair and pram friendly from the South Curl Curl end with good parking facilities available.
Very cool, relaxing and easy walking trail with fantastic ocean coastline view from North Curl Curl Beach to Freshwater. You can bring your dogs too. Also it’s popular fishing place.highly recommend.

Excellent adventure on Northern Beaches door step
Tony M — Google review
A fantastic view all along the board walk, this is an excellent spot to stop and stretch your legs. The path itself is wheelchair and pram friendly, but only if you start from the South Curl Curl end. Fences are a little inconsistent and not especially child friendly, so keep little ones close by.
Duncan M — Google review
Enjoyed this amazing coastal walk from Curl Curl to Freshwater, the best thing about this walk is that the boardwalk is built along the cliff edge and hugs the beach and coastline so that you have the most fabulous ocean views. There are striking rock formations, rock-pools, sea birds and native coastal plants. It’s also an easy walk and the boardwalk is suitable for anyone. Park at the south end of Curl Curl or you can start from North end to maximise your walk .
Rajesh T — Google review
Beautiful walk though hot in middle of the day. Only place for coffee is at the Curl Curl surf club which get very busy. Can walk dogs on lead.
