📍 Good historical location. You can’t drive your private vehicle all the way to Point Nepean — parking is available only at the entrance. From there, you’ll need to take the shuttle service, which requires a paid return ticket purchased at the start. Note that the shuttle doesn’t operate all the time, so check the schedule beforehand. Alternatively, you can walk barefoot (or in comfortable shoes) for around 4–5 km. Plan at least 2 hours to fully enjoy the surroundings and the historic atmosphere.
Oshan V — Google review
The day was rainy with thunder and lightning, peaceful and the solitude I craved. Great walking tracks, asphalt the whole way. The up keep of the fort is good, an historic part of our past. Pack a picnic to share at the Quarantine Station, magnificence buildings.
Jacinda B — Google review
Great history! Lovely walk around the grounds of the quarantine station at Point Nepean. I advise you to watch a short video about the quarantine station before your walk. Very interesting. There is a lovely little coffee van there on site, too.
Lesleigh W — Google review
Lots of fascinating points of interest along a spectacular scenic coastline. The old gun placements were great to walk around and you really felt in the moment walking through the tunnels under the point. The sites were well signposted with plenty of information detailing the point of interest. Great bus service to get you to the point without having to make the 3 km hike over some very steep hills.
Rodney S — Google review
Utterly Gorgeous park! Fantastic range of walks to stunning views! Shuttle bus runs out to the point & very accessible! Highly recommend if in the area!
CarniART — Google review
Absolutely stunning! Point Nepean National Park offers a perfect mix of natural beauty, rich history, and adventure. Breathtaking coastal views, peaceful walking trails, and historic forts make it a must-visit. The bike ride to the tip is a highlight — scenic, breezy, and unforgettable!

Lovely historic buildings but basically they are abandoned and in disrepair. I liked reading about the history and enjoyed the tranquil environment. History buffs would enjoy this place. 👍

Excellent place for brunch or coffee with amazing views. Can be quite windy at the end of the pier. Make sure to wear something warm during the colder months. Excellent place for squid fishing from the pier.

Mel and the team were excellent and helped with all the booking and advice we needed for our overnight mooring. Facilities were clean and showers warm. Lots of local restaurants in walking distance too.

Absolutely stunning. A beautiful place to walk, grab a bite to eat or if you have a boat licence, grab a boat and sail away..unfortunately that isn't me. Queenscliff has a lot to offer and its a beautiful town. I'd highly recommend visiting this place.
Penelope — Google review
I loved this place. I also saw fish in the water whilst walking along the pier (if sorts lol) I went on a few different days. My ONLY COMPLAINT was the pure enjoyment I had being robbed sneakily by the local seagulls lol. I still laugh to myself every time I think about the seagulls flying off with tray of potato cakes and chips literally (couple come to annoy me from the left and as soon as I gave them attention the seagulls came/flew from the right and picked up what I thought was a heavy tray that I was eating from on the waters edge). I rate here 10 out of 10 and won't be trusting the local wildlife 😂

Beautiful to wlak around Swan Bay and the Harbour it's peaceful there's plenty of birds including obviously Swans and pelicans and plovers and stalks and other sea and water birds. Beautiful fresh air, clean areas, peaceful but also lovely locals who are friendly!

Beer garden
Nestled in a historic pub dating back to 1878, the Queenscliff Brewhouse offers visitors stunning panoramic views of the bay. This charming venue is perfect for those looking to enjoy hearty pub fare, delicious pizzas, and catch live sports on screens. With an impressive selection of local brews from Queenscliff Brewhouse and Prickly Moses available on tap, it’s a haven for beer enthusiasts.
We came for lunch on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to see the refurbishment and new play area for kids. 3/4 of the outdoor beer garden was reserved so I highly recommend making a booking in advance! Our food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The calamari was divine, and the fried chicken burger was also phenomenal. My parents had the seniors schnitzel and it was a really thick and juicy piece of chicken. We loved everything. Lots of staff so service was prompt and friendly enough. A great spot for food or drinks before/after a visit to the steam trains!
Laura B — Google review
Renovations amazing. Bringing the vibe to another new level. Perfect for the town. Respectfully please pay attention to the food. You're so close to having a perfect venue. Food needs attention to detail. Eg salt your chips, eye fillet extremely dry no seasoning. Wishing you all the best. PS fans are needed outside for summer new roof is a sauna.
Todd B — Google review
Hello there, thank you for the prompt acknowledgment. The decor is very pleasant and staff were nice. The gnocchi dish was quite disappointing from the dough consistency (ratio potato/flour was way out of balance) to the green sauce which was more like a side dish dumped over the gnocchi resulting in a dish no well blended in flavours and texture (a mishmash of different cuts of greens). The wait time for the crispy garlic bread was a bit too long given the restaurant was nearly empty. We might give it another go. A.
Alessandra B — Google review
We had such a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional. Charlotte took such great care of us, she showed us to our table. She was super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Sophie R — Google review
We dined with our children and grandchildren in the bistro just after the renovations and were pleased to see that the whole place seems brighter and less cluttered. The grandchildren were happy to move between the table and the play area. Meals were satisfactory and the service by a lady of our age was exemplary. We came back on Melbourne Cup day for a glass of wine and a bowl of the great chips we had previously but after walking around the bar area and the courtyard decided to leave as the music was far too loud. Surprised bar staff don't suffer industrial deafness. A little disappointed as I have been to this establishment in its many incarnations from the 1950s.
Tony M — Google review
It was our third time at the venue since the refurb - we’ve enjoyed the food, found the new beer selection to be a major disappointment, and have had good service (thanks Nicholas). That soon changed last Saturday night when the band “Gunslinger” started playing. It was far too loud and the music choice was more suited to an RSL. Disappointing and the venue could have benefited from having a younger, modern band to create a livelier atmosphere. The newly refurbished venue needs a newly refurbished band..!!

Great food. Huge portions! Delicious. Catered to all our needs. Great set up for eating many options. Service was speedy freindly. Great staff!
Donna W — Google review
Beautiful hotel. Went for lunch and it wasn’t too busy for a Saturday. Food was average, tomato salad was odd with overpowering flavours making it taste like a desert. Would probably go back for a drink only. Pricing on the high side.

The Bellarine Railway - Queenscliff Station is a charming steam tourist railroad located in Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula. The train runs between Queenscliff and Drysdale every Sunday, offering stunning views of the picturesque landscapes along the way. Families with kids who love trains will enjoy the mini events and rides, including special Easter weekend activities that include a short train ride to an old station with Easter decorations and photo opportunities with the bunny.
Highly recommend. The kids loved it. We went as a massive group and was nice to see them all smile. Also seeing them load up the train with more Coal when we stopped for 15 minutes was another thing that was exciting for the kids. Great little activity for the day if you have children.

A Memorable Heritage Journey with the Bellarine Railway I recently took a 45‑minute ride on the Bellarine Railway’s “Swan Bay Express”, departing from Queenscliff and travelling alongside the picturesque Swan Bay. From the moment I boarded the beautifully restored timber carriages to the pause at Lakers Siding where I could briefly explore the old signal box, the experience felt like stepping into another era. The scenery; gentle wetlands, bay views, rolling countryside, added to the charm. It was a tranquil yet engaging way to spend a morning or afternoon. This visit reminded me that slowing down and immersing in a well‑preserved piece of history can be both refreshing and inspiring.
Heidy W — Google review
Did this for my daughter’s 3rd birthday as Puffing Billy sold out too fast. We did the Swan Bay Express, much cheaper than Puffing Billy, we paid for a private compartment and a simple, straight forward experience with no issues. While as an adult it was uneventful and simple, my 3 yr old absolutely loved it. Short and sweet with lovely views, a short drive from Geelong where we stopped for lunch after on our way back home to Melbourne.

I was lucky enough to be included in a group for the lunch experience on the Q-Train on Thursday 18th Sept. It was fabulous. Great food, great service, and lovely friendly staff. Pricey but worth it. A set 5 course menu, with bread and dip basket, 3 mains and a dessert. All locally sourced produce. Drinks are extra. The dishes were well prepared and absolutely delicious 😋 😍 Ladies if you would like to visit the little girls room at the first stop it is only a 15mins stop, and only one available.

Delightful train ride from Drysdale to Queenscliff with a 5 course lunch and drinks along the way. Compliments to the staff who were friendly and helpful explaining the meals and sights along the way. 3 trip well worth it !
Terry T — Google review
The delight on the children’s’ faces as they boarded the train pulled by the little locomotive, brought back many fond memories. The loud whistle and the trails of steam echoed the bygone years.
Kerrie C — Google review
A somewhat okay experience but I would say not worth the travel and time. The view wasn’t that great either, mostly bushes. Would have been nice if they sounded the horn more often to engage the kids. The staff though were very lovely and accomodating and the feel of riding a vintage train was nice. And since my child was not at all interested, I reckon the 45 minute-ride was just a good amount of time.

Family of 3 (2A 1 toddler) we really enjoyed it, steam train was a novelty, view was great on the beautiful sunny winter day, the ticket lady to the train crew were all very friendly; train was plenty big enough we had a booth to ourselves.

Dined at this long-established Queenscliff venue on New Year’s Eve. Lovely menu included prawn salad, ancient grain salad, crispy pork, sirloin steak and much more. Service and staff were great as was atmosphere and ambience. Recommend this restaurant 👍👍👍

The food is incredibly delicious!! And the coffee roast is so caramelly and delicious as well. Highly recommend! The atmosphere is so cozy as well. We got the baked beans (added an egg and chorizo) and the eggs benny. Both were amazing!

Fabulous. We had 5 of the entree style plates - scallops, prawns, chicken, croquettes and roasted cauliflower & every one of them were so tasty - also had two cocktails - coconut margarita & jalapeño mule. Service was also great.

Slight delay being seated because of a local Friday night drinking club. Food was good house wine quite alright and overall we would come again

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Jack and Barry hosted our wedding reception at Shelter Shed and it was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. The thought and attention that went into every detail prior to and on the night was above and beyond - from the planting of hydrangeas in the garden, to the home made ravioli and wedding cake. The food was delicious and the beautiful atmosphere created in the back garden area was just perfect perfect perfect. Thank you again Jack and Barry!!!
Eleanor N — Google review
Saturday night dinner without a booking worked out well. Front room of the place was full, so we accepted a table out the back. This was perfectly fine because the staff set up the outdoor heating and took very good care of us. The ambience in the garden marquee was gentle and quiet, and more than warm enough. Food and drink were delicious, though food a little slow coming…they were busy…so we weren’t overly concerned, just sat back enjoying our wine and cocktails, which did come out quite promptly. We had the steak, the lamb shank and the prawns, as well as molten lave cake for dessert. Steak and lamb shank were prepared beautifully, prawns were tasty but could have done with a touch of extra seasoning. Molten lava cake was molten! Overall, a lovely experience, special shout-out to Jack for his service. Definitely recommend trying this place out.

We came here for dinner and enjoyed very attentive and informed staff as well as the most delicious scallops (entre), belly pork and lamb (mains). A good selection of wines available. Will be back again when next in the area, what a fine!!

Visited here today whilst in the area & we were all very happy with our meal. Top service by the waitress who did everything except the cooking. Point Lonsdale Lighthouse, a charming relic from the early 20th century, stands as a beacon of history and natural beauty. Visitors can embark on weekly tours that allow them to ascend 120 steps to the lantern for breathtaking views. The surrounding area is rich in outdoor activities; pristine beaches invite swimming, surfing, and rock pool exploration while fishing enthusiasts find their haven here too.

Good Friday, 2025. we drove to Point Lonsdale Lighthouse. Small walk with an incline to Lighthouse, but nothing strenuous. Beautiful views from lighthouse. I really loved the look of the rock pool down below.
Sandra B — Google review
Easy short walk, the beach was beautiful, with the rocks being the best playground for kids. We were there on a winter Saturday, didn’t get to go into lighthouse as it was close already
Lamemamabear S — Google review
The area offers breathtaking views and is known for its breezy atmosphere. There is ample parking available, making it easy for visitors to access the location. A notable feature is the pier, which provides a great spot for fishing; however, it's important to remember to obtain the proper fishing license, as local authorities frequently patrol this area to ensure compliance with regulations. The beach itself is pleasant but rather small, so it may become crowded quickly during peak hours. Visitors should be cautious, as the waves can be unexpectedly intense at times. This makes it crucial for parents to keep a close eye on their children while they are playing in or near the water. Overall, it’s a lovely spot for a day out, but safety and preparedness are key. Most importantly, make sure you grab your coffee on the town before coming here to enjoy the scenery.

On 15 January 2023 at 5:45pm, Cliffe's Cafe & Pizza provided a delightful dining experience. Their pizzas were delectable, consisting of two large options: Hawaiin and Aussi. The staff exhibited exceptional service by effortlessly remembering each customer's order. The interior boasted a modern ambiance with bright and clean decor, featuring solid wood tables and captivating photographic art showcasing local scenes.
We stumbled across this cafe and pizza by accident. I’m glad we did! Their food was delicious, and the staff and service were friendly. Their menu has a variety of pizza, a kids' menu, chicken, wraps, beef, and more. You won't be disappointed with the portion and flavour. Every dish we ordered was perfect, and the price was reasonable. We’ll come back again. Plenty of street parking and family-friendly.

I really enjoyed this venue. I ordered the burger with the works to eat in but when it arrived I decided that I just could not get my mouth around it and it was very tall. I took it back to the counter and asked if they would wrap it in paper as they normally would do for a take away burger. This made the burger much much easier to eat without much of the contents escaping. I really enjoyed this burger and managed to not spill any of the components. The result was an excellent burger which I enjoyed immensely. Would definitely recommend this venue and the very friendly and helpful staff... May have to try the pizza next time

Chris G — Google review
Look the pizzas tasted amazing and the whole family loved them but paying $16 & $18 for small pizzas is just a bit crazy. $69.90 for 4 small pizzas is just outrageous but at least it tasted good. The stars are just for the price.
Loukas D — Google review
We ordered a large pepperoni and medium capriciosa for our kids which came to a surprising $45. They were underwhelming, with the toppings unevenly distributed and the pizzas having average texture, as though they'd been sitting around for a long time (they hadn't, they just tasted that way). The service was friendly though.

Very fresh good quality burgers. I was a bit confused with the pricing of the meal deals, possibly a bit too tired to understand. I will definitely be back.

Nestled in the charming town of Queenscliff, Nivana is a delightful Asian fusion restaurant that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its inviting ambiance and stunning decor, it sets the perfect backdrop for enjoying a diverse menu filled with tantalizing dishes. From savory chicken and chive dumplings to aromatic laksa and their renowned banh mi, there's something to please every palate.
There is some confusion over the name of this busy restaurant. Signage says ‘Nivana’, but googling comes up with Nirvana! Either way, the food here is divine. Vietnamese-fusion dishes are full flavored, creative and delectable. Congratulations to the chef for creating such delicious food. Staff were very friendly and the place has a great vibe too!Friday night was packed out, so suggest booking in advance. I highly recommend this restaurant. 👍👍👍

Great food and a lovely atmosphere, but the tables are very small. With just two drinks (for two people) and two dishes, the table was already crowded, which felt a bit uncomfortable. I had actually ordered one dish as an entrée and the other as a main for us to share, but the waitress (who seemed to be in training) brought them out at the same time. Overall, it was still a happy visit, and I’d definitely come back. Next time I’ll just order one dish at a time.

Amazing food, from the lunchtime special of a Banh Mi to the prawn and scollop dumplings and not to forget the crispy duck pancakes! It’s obvious that the chefs are well travelled and know their trade. Been here multiple times now and it never disappoints! Always look forward to what’s on the weekly specials, booking is a must as seats are limited. Family friendly with the staple kids meals on the menu so everyone is happy. Heather at front of house is bright and bubbly and nothing is ever too hard with my wife’s dietary requirements. Always a pleasure coming here, if you’re in the area you won’t be disappointed. 10/10 P.S best Banh Mi I have ever had and I have had hundreds across Melbourne

**Visiting this restaurant is on our top to-do list every single time we go to Queenscliff. Never thought I would taste one of the best siu mai I have ever had here in Queenscliff. Every single dish was splendid. When you taste the food here you can tell that the chefs pay attention to every detail. Much love is put in the food.

Asian fusion restaurant with very nice decor, great service and atmosphere. Food is great but isn’t the best. Shanghai dumplings skin is a bit thicker than normal. Laksa is a bit of tomyum mix. Thai fried rice pork meat was a bit dry. Will have to visit again to try other dishes.

We stumbled across Nivana today while looking for a last-minute lunch spot with our three kids — and what a find! This little Asian restaurant completely blew us away. We ordered the crispy pork belly, chicken skewers, butter chicken, laksa, and roti, and every single dish was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Easily the best meal we’ve had in a long time, and enjoyed by the whole family. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was lovely. I never leave Google reviews, but Nivana absolutely deserves the praise!

With breathtaking views of Swan Island, this charming eatery offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying lunch or dinner with loved ones. The menu boasts an array of fresh seafood options, including succulent fish dishes, flavorful pasta, mouthwatering mussels, and vibrant salads that cater to every palate.
Took the Ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff to Scully’s Oyster Bar on the Marina. The staff were very friendly, helpful and made our quick dinner very enjoyable! The Seafood Platter was delicious. I highly recommend a day trip to take in the beautiful scenery and feast on seafood delicacies.

Very polite waiters. Beautiful view. Very nice for a casual lunch or dinner. The oysters are served on ice, great selection of different types not just the usual Natural/Kilpatrick . The chilli prawns are a great entree. Thanks for having us!

Glad that we give it a try despite all the negative reviews here.. But turned out I had an amazing lunch with my little family, first good thing bout scully is they had so much space in the restaurant so we can bring baby pram insidr which is the bonus. The service was very good and the staff was friendly too. Food was delicious and didn't take so long. We had a good time and definitely will come back when we visit Queenscliff again.

The food was presented well but lacked flavours. Looks like the chef forgot to add salt to our food. There wasn’t any salt at all in any of the dishes including the pickled capers 😉 (I promise). Not worth the price… Service was great. It’s a beautiful ambience but there’s wasn’t any music playing, could hear the exhaust fans running so loud. Very disappointing…

Staff was very polite and friendly. We ordered few different types of dishes and we loved the food. Dishes were priced $20 - $45 and had kids dishes as well.

Judge for yourself. Some bad reviews here but we went anyway and glad we did!! Staff friendly and helpful, oysters delicious, one very small, chowder in a cob loaf was really nice!!

Seafood Chowder and the Pork Ribs were ordered with wines to suit. Both meals were amazingly delicious and of exceptional quality... so impressive...friendly service too. See my description, with the picture of the Chowder below, for some mouth-watering details!

Pizza restaurant
Na zdravi, located on the Bellarine Peninsula, is a beloved restaurant known for its delectable cuisine and exceptional service. The menu offers a wide variety of scrumptious dishes that are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The inviting atmosphere creates a warm and comfortable dining experience. With its wood-fired oven pizzas, Na zdravi is considered one of the top contenders for the best pizza in the Geelong region.
No stay in Queenscliff or Point Lonsdale is complete without at least one night of pizza from what is one of the most awesome local pizza joints anywhere. Fantastic pizzas made with care from superb I gredients, nothing standard here. All the staples presented like super premium pizza, and they taste magnificent. The staff are fast and efficient yet always friendly, the hard working kitchen staff exposed to the dining room always have time for a smile or a welcome, and the space is comfortable and inviting to eat in, whether a special occasion or just an easy casual eat. Delicious wines by the glass and bottle, well chosen to go with the food. THIS is the local everybody WISHED they had.

The pizzas were prepared and cooked to perfection, reasonably priced as well. The lovely lady who served us was very helpful and friendly. Overall very happy, my only other thoughts were I think the toppings were a little lite on.

Basils Farm is a dog-friendly venue located in Swan Bay that offers a rotating menu featuring fresh, seasonal produce from the potager garden and local growers. The rustic farmhouse charm of the weatherboard cottage, along with the veggie patch, fire pit, market gardens, orchard, and farm animals like llamas and baby doll sheep make it an artisan winery worth visiting. Families can enjoy the outdoor space with a sandpit for kids to play in while adults dine at garden tables.
The restaurant gave us a perfect spot with the nature! My fiancé and I went to have lunch on Saturday and it was just lovely! We got there ten minutes earlier than our reservation time (same time as the opening time of the restaurant) but the host let us in just a few mins after:) The food was delicious. The service was just right. We had a tasty lunch and got to have a bit of relaxation enjoying the view the garden with butterflies and also the ocean. Kudos to the staff picking up herbs from the garden. That was a nice touch!

What a gem! Dining at this countryside estate was an absolute delight. The sprawling lawn and serene garden offered a stunning backdrop, complemented by breathtaking ocean views. Every dish was a masterpiece—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully plated. The staff’s warm hospitality made the experience even more memorable. While savoring delicious meals, I couldn’t resist capturing photos on the immaculate lawn, which looked straight out of a magazine with its seaside charm. Perfect for foodies and photographers alike, this spot blends gourmet excellence with natural beauty. An unforgettable retreat where great food meets picture-perfect scenery. Highly recommended!

We stopped by Basil's Farm for a romantic brunch as part of our babymoon celebrations. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much—but the experience far exceeded our expectations. From the picturesque farm setting and thoughtfully styled spaces to the genuinely friendly staff and, most importantly, the incredibly delicious food—it was a wonderful surprise. Whether you're after a casual meal or looking for a wedding venue, we would absolutely recommend Basil's Farm!

A family winters day lunch that warmed the heart. The staff are to be complimented, they made us feel welcomed with lovely smiles. The food was exemplary. The farmhouse Pinot Noir was to be recommended. Not much more to say except we will be back.

Lovely dining experience - good menu. I only tried the chardonnay but rated it quite highly as did my friends. A good selection of food we tried the squid, lamb, pasta, tiger prawns, ravioli, cured salmon and chat potatoes just to mention a few of the dishes. Everybody said they enjoyed their dishes. Staff were polite and car parking plentiful. Lovely gardens for those that enjoy a stroll. We attended on a sunny day and the view is terrific. Will be back.

We had our wedding at Basil’s, and it was absolutely perfect! The venue’s laid-back atmosphere was exactly what we wanted, and having both the ceremony and reception in one place made the day so seamless. We were lucky to have a warm evening, which made the outdoor dance floor truly magical. The gardens were stunning, providing the perfect backdrop for photos, and the food was absolutely incredible. A special shoutout to Katherine, who was amazing to work with—always responsive, kind, and happy to answer any questions, no matter how small. We can’t recommend the Basil’s team and this venue highly enough for a wedding. It was everything we dreamed of and more! Photo credit Nikki McCrone

The Blues Train in Queenscliff, Victoria, offers a unique and enjoyable entertainment and dining experience. Running from August to May, this steam train provides a mini-festival atmosphere with live blues music and themed dining. Guests can enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience of dining aboard a moving train while being entertained by blues musicians. The food served on board is also musically themed, adding to the overall experience.
What a fun and unique experience! Amazing organization by the Blues Train team. The dinner was delicious. The musicians were top notch. It was fun moving from car to car at each stop to see the next performance. Room to dance or sit and enjoy the music. An absolutely energy charged environment. Great to share with friends and family. We highly recommend and will be heading back ourselves. Books out quickly!!

5/4/25 We had an absolutely fantastic night on the Blues Train! We had had to wait for 5 years for the experience as we had previously booked in 2020..... Anyway, finally we managed to get 7 of us together and it was fabulous! We started with the meal. I feel the directions could have been clearer, but there was enough food when I got there (larger men in our party would have preferred seconds/larger portions). The meal was tasty. We had beef, chicken, carrots, mashed potato, salad, a bread roll, and coleslaw. Dessert (lemon tart) was too sweet and the only option, which was disappointing. The music in each carriage was great. My order of favourites would be B, A, D, C but others in our group had different favourites. Something for everyone. Anna Scionti amazed us all with her cigar box guitar skills 👌 👏 🎸 It would have been nice to know about the drink package options beforehand, to have been able to choose ahead rather than work it out in the queue, but we managed! We're so glad the Blues Train survived after 2020! P.S. nice to have security in each carriage, especially when a few people got a bit tipsy! There wasn't any trouble, just merriment, but nice to have their presence for 'just in case'!

My friend and I flew from Newcastle to share the adventures of the Blues Train.. We had the most amazing time.. The staff were super friendly, the Blues artists were fun and entertaining and the added experience of the train was awesome. I havn't stopped smiling.. Highly recommend 🌞

We did the lunch show & we can’t wait to go again. The train ride was amazing, the musicians were very talented & played a variety of blues. The buffet food was very tasty and nearly all options were gluten free. The catering staff and the train staff were so friendly & helpful, even on a 35.deg day. Make sure you book accommodation early, took us a while to find something.

Had such a great time. I loved the cross section and varied music even though it was all blues. The carriages are not over crowded ( the perfect amount ) I would recommend this to anyone who has a love of music especially Blues
HelenR — Google review
Had an absolute blast. The music was great , the atmosphere was amazing and we had a great time. I do think there need to be better food options though. The snack box was tasty but not really adequate for the length of time on the train , the free flowing drinks and as the event starts so early it makes it difficult to eat dinner beforehand. Incorporating some kind of hot food e.g sliders, pies etc at the halfway point (Drysdale) would make it an even better experience. Thanks Blues Train for responding. I do believe that you need to look at recent reviews and take the comments re the food "On Board". It is not easy to eat dinner that early and most of the recent reviews that I have read have mentioned the inadequacy of the food. I think you need to meet the expectations of your clients and provide better food options. If you did it would elevate the experience from 4 Star to 5 Star.

The experience of traveling the train and entertainment was fantastic. How ever … I am so glad I had a late lunch as the food provided was revolting and un eatable. Given a grazing box with warm cheese & dip. Deli meat was off, it went in the bin. Drinks limited only providing one per stop. Where as there website reflected only allowed three at a time . But would only give you one drink ! Very disappointed with food and drink provided.
Wrxjase75 — Google review
Boy, did this give me the blues. I went on this ten years ago and it was amazing — but the change in structure has turned it into an absolute mess. At each stop, you’re only allowed to get a drink for yourself — no one else in your group — and there are only four people physically serving the entire train. Everyone in your group has to queue for their own drink, including any elderly parents you’ve brought along. This also means you have to choose between going to the toilet, queuing for a drink, or queuing to save a seat on the carriage. You can’t do all three, and either way, you’ll spend the entire 30-minute stop in a queue. There are a maximum of four toilets per stop serving the entire train. No one explained the drinks rules in advance or how we would move between carriages, so everyone was confused and frustrated right from the start. Calling it a shambles doesn’t do it justice. We missed out on drinks, people were peeing in the bushes, and we couldn’t sit with our group on the carriage because there’s no structure to the seating arrangements. The staff were rude — I actually had to have a word with one of them after they referred to me as “that woman” for being in the way. The whole process completely undermined what would otherwise be a great musical experience. What a shame — this used to be brilliant.

The Queenscliffe Maritime Museum in Victoria, Australia, is a fascinating destination for those interested in maritime history. It preserves the region's rich seafaring heritage with exhibits on original fisherman's cottages and early boat-building sheds. Visitors can also explore the town's cultural history at the Queenscliffe Historical Museum, which offers insights into the area's pioneers through various artifacts. Additionally, Fort Queenscliff provides a glimpse into the town's defense and maritime history with available tours.
We visited the museum and escape room. The museum was informative, well set out and fun for our young child. She loved trying on the diving helmets and exploring the sand tray filled with shells and dried sealife. John took us through a pilot boat and we got to go down into the engine room. He told us all about the boats and he was an absolute pleasure to listen too. We spent over an hour in the museum and will definitely visit again in the future. We also did the escape room which was excellent. The host Avi, was helpful when we got stuck, gave us great clues with giving us answers and made it really enjoyable. Probably took us a bit longer than an hour, but we loved every minute of it. Hopefully they add other escape rooms for our next visit.

I had no idea there was a an Escape Room here!!! Love, love, loved it! It was actually challenging for us 2 adults. Our young friendly game master on the day was fantastic and helped us along the way thank goodness... we might still be in there lol. Definitely worth visiting. 👌 The staff were amazing and greated us warmly immediately upon entering and gave us both free entry to the museum when we wish to use them bedore we left. Everyone is so friendly and went above and beyond to make out visit memorable (remember most staff here are volunteers). The Queenscliff Maritime Museum are looking for more volunteers to join the fun, interation and to share the history of Geelong so if your interested, drop them a line. We will be back... thank you so much for your warm hospitality. E & C L

Queenscliff Maritime Museum - A Hidden Gem! We visited today with the kids and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. The museum is small but packed with interesting exhibits that taught us a lot about the local maritime history. The staff were friendly, passionate, and clearly dedicated — they took time to chat and share stories, which added so much to the experience. The kids were entertained with interactive displays and activities, which gave us a nice moment to enjoy the exhibits ourselves. It’s a great way to spend an hour or two, especially on a windy day when outdoor options are limited. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

We did the escape room here. It was me (M47) my wife, and two kids (9 & 13). It was great. There are plenty of puzzles, great for family bonding and building communication skills, and so much fun. Plus you get entry to the museum. Highly recommend.

Packed full of information about The Rip, including a 3-d model, which puts into perspective the difficulty entering Port Phillip. There's also lots of information about the Port Pilots and their work Central to the museum is the last Queenscliff lifeboat. This blends in well with the information on several of the shipwrecks in the region. There are several outdoor exhibits, including a Pilot Boat, but it was too cold to spend time outside the day we were there. We easily spent 2 hours there but another couple only spent 1 hour.

The service at Lombardys On Hesse is exceptional and the meals are impressive. The mussels in the marinara sauce are particularly delicious, while even the kids' pizza is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. It's hard to decide what's better - the food or the service - as both are of absolute perfection. This Italian restaurant never fails to amaze with its excellent quality dishes that cater to a wide variety of tastes.
Terrific experience at Lombardy's over a long weekend! We booked via their Facebook page and they were very responsive. The food was great - we loved that they did five levels of spiciness for anything with chilli. The staff were incredibly friendly - the service was excellent! Would highly recommend and would come back.

Love the food here, the pizza and pasta were special. The service is great, and I know it's a strange thing to remark but more and more I find when I go out and have a drink, and finish that drink, only about 10% of restaurants ask if I'd like another. This place is one of those 10%. They handled us being frustratingly long figuring out what we should order. The desserts are also worth trying. The apple crumble especially.

Easily the worst pizzas we've ever had. Both inedible. Son took one bite of a Margherita and nearly gagged, I thought he was exaggerating until I tried it. Whether you're celebrating a wedding, birthday, or anniversary, 360Q provides an ideal setting with its attentive staff dedicated to making your special occasion seamless and memorable.
Local hidden gem! Excellent service, ambience & food. The 2 or 3 course set menu offers a large selection of choices and each are lovingly crafted by the chefs. Standout item was the deconstructed apple strudel from their daily specials. See photo attached. Well recommended for a dinner date or a family / work function.

This was a last-minute Saturday night dinner decision, and it turned out to be a good one for a balmy evening. The restaurant is fresh and modern, and we scored a table near the balcony doors, which were open. That gave us the benefit of air-con and a feeling of being outdoors on the deck. The menu is a two-courses / three-courses style (with drinks extra), but they were happy to mix it up, so we didn't all need to order the same number of courses. I added dessert and even shared it with my partner, and the waitress was happy to provide an extra fork. Our waitress was lovely, as were all the staff we interacted with. I can't say the food was fantastic, but it was okay - my prawn crackers were a surprise and slightly stale, for example- but it was good value overall and I'd go back.

We had booked a special early lunch prior to going on the Blues Train and 360Q didn’t disappoint. Great communication prior to booking and afterwards. Shout out to Barry for that. We were shown to our window seats by staff and provided our menu promptly. Food was great quality and good sized servings, my wife chose the chicken korma curry, I had the Flathead tails with chips ( declined salad, it’s not for me). The chicken was perfectly cooked with great flavours. The flathead tails were plentiful and fresh with a crispy light batter, cooked to perfection. Can’t recommend too highly and will consider visiting when next in Queenscliff. Great location and easy parking. Well done to all of the floor staff and those in the kitchen.

We were staying in Queenscliff for the weekend for our 45th wedding anniversary and found 360Q when searching for a suitable place for dinner. We loved the set dinner options and enjoyed a delicious special meal that we wouldn't normally treat ourselves to at the cost but it was a special occasion! The options we chose were all delicious and beautifully plated up and the service was very friendly and efficient. We had seared scallops & the kingfish ceviche as entrees - both very delicious. For mains we chose the duck breast and the lamb backstrap - these were equally as delicious. Dessert we both went with the sticky date pudding and that was so light and delicious. The only negative that we would say was the cost of the water. When we were seated we were offered still or sparkling water - we chose sparkling thinking there might be an extra charge for that - it arrived in a 'normal' bottle with glasses and so didn't think anything about it. But on looking at the bill afterwards noticed that there was a $4 each charge for water, whether it was still or sparkling. We felt that this should have been pointed out at the table so that we had the option to decline. Typically we haven't found restaurants charge for water on the table unless it is commercially bottled water, so this was a little disappointing. But it still didn't take away from the the beautiful food and atmostphere of the restaurant for our special celebration.

We had the 2 course lunch before getting on the Blues Train. Exceptional. The service was excellent & the food even better. I can recommend the zucchini fritters! Even though we had an hour time frame, nothing was rushed. We were seated outside where you watch all the boat traffic. Very relaxing.

Highly recommended restaurant. I took my wife there yesterday for her birthday. I made a special request that they have pink flowers on the table. As that's her favourite type of rose, they happily obliged my request very reasonable. Decent food staff , not constantly bugging you just asking if you wanted a new drink.

Cafe
Piknik offers delectable cuisine and exceptionally friendly service. This versatile establishment functions as a cafe, restaurant, bottle shop, and larder featuring their delightful preserves and relishes. The specials board boasts outstanding dishes such as flawlessly cooked and seasoned prawn pasta. The Greek lamb is an aromatic delight that lives up to its enticing scent upon arrival at the table. And for the kids, Piknik serves spiders—a beverage that creates excitement during their first encounter.
A beautiful rustic venue where you can watch the world go by. Friendly attentive staff and lovely range of meals available. Daughter and I enjoyed a quiet breakfast here of spicy scrambled and bacon whilst she had butterscotch French crepes. All well prepared and have earmarked some other menu items for our next visit. Would recommend.

5 star lunch with shopping! Delicious house made soup. Plus sauces and treats to take home too.

A well overdue review! This place is the BOMB. My family come here on rotation every few weeks. The food is ALWAYS fabulous, with a young team who are just lovely. Service is consistently great, informal, gentle and with loads of personality. Denise is the heart and soul of Piknik, she is 100% gold. Piknik also has a great service offer of wines, homemade cakes, preserves, breads and great coffee. An eclectic setting wraps it up into a beautiful bow. Long may they reign on Swan Bay rd x

Stopped in at this old servo for lunch PIKNIK came highly recommended and it was easy to see why. Excellent food, friendly service and a great selection of wines. Grabbed loaf of beautiful bread while we were there.

Fabulous rustic old servo now doing casual dining. Seasonal simple but beautifully executed food, friendly helpful staff. Bread and cakes made in site. Outdoor covered area with sun streaming in or heat from fireplace is perfect year round Beautiful wine and relishes etc available to purchase. Plenty to love about this one. One of our favourite locals.

I took my parents to Piknik for my dad’s 82nd birthday and had a wonderful lunch. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was fantastic, and the whole experience felt relaxed and welcoming. A great spot for a special occasion — we’ll definitely be back.

Always feel like home. Came to bring our nephew and his fiance for lunch. Denise welcomed them with open arms. My favourite place to have lunch when we are in Point Lonsdale

Eclectic, off the beaten track restaurant. Service was attentive, food was great, I had the reuben and side slaw with a coffee. I saw the bruschetta come out to two other tables and definitely had a case of food envy - will definitely opt for that next time.

If you're looking for an unforgettable family adventure that brings you up close and personal with marine life, look no further than Sea All Dolphin Swims in Queenscliff. This charming, family-owned eco-tourism company offers a unique opportunity to swim with wild dolphins and seals in the stunning waters of Port Phillip Bay.
🌟 An Unforgettable Birthday Experience with Sea All Dolphin Swims! 🌟 We had the pleasure of celebrating my daughter’s 9th birthday with Sea All Dolphin Swims last weekend, and it was truly an incredible experience! From start to finish, the team showcased impeccable teamwork, making sure everyone felt involved, safe, and most importantly, fearless while trying out the various activities. A special shoutout to the amazing Andrea, Ta, and Murph for going above and beyond to ensure we had the best views and moments on the tour. Their dedication to making every guest feel included was heartwarming—our 19-month-old even got to enjoy the experience on the net! My daughter and husband had a blast snorkeling and participating in all the fun activities, from rope swinging to jumping off the boat and holding onto the boat’s edge. While we didn’t spot any dolphins this time, it didn’t take away from the excitement or enjoyment of the tour—it exceeded all our expectations. We’ll definitely be returning soon and can’t recommend Sea All Dolphin Swims enough. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a fun-filled adventure, this is the place to go. Thank you for creating unforgettable memories for our family!

I was not a client at the time but realised i had forgotten to get fuel. I flagged down the frendly staff and got a lift to queencliff. With a bit of bartering got some fuel. I got yo hang out with Mel on the desk and we talked about a love of nature and travel. I got a ride back to my beloved vessel Charlie named after my late old man. Just wanted to thanks for the help when u had a lot to manage on the day. It was a great day on the water. Not all heros wear capes. The health complaints i had on the day i was informed by my doctors were very treatable. So 6 mths later in well. Still loving the water and nature and how its great medicine. Much love Marcus

Absolutely lovely experience with Murph and crew for a private booking. They helped us pick the perfect day and were a pleasure to work with. We also had the good luck of seeing a dolphin! Thanks so much to the team

I had a real blast swimming with the seals and seeing curious and playful dolphins!! The team was super cheerful and knowledgeable about all the wildlife of the area and the conservation activities. As we were a small group, we even had the chance to surf on the waves of the board, a very first for me! I would definitely come back and experience this all over again!

Absolutely brilliant experience. Josh was super attentive and felt in very safe hands. They keep you warm & entertained! Highly recommend. Lambinton too…. Have a good winter season guys.
Janine H — Google review
I have been out on the dolphin and seal swim with these guys a few times now and every time has been a different adventure but always so much fun and a great experience. All the staff from the office to the boat are so welcoming, warm and helpful. They share their experience and knowledge and are incredibly attentive. They provide extra assistance where needed or wanted and really get the fun vibe happening with boom nets, jumping off the roof of the boat, finding weedy sea dragons, seal and dolphin swims. Little ones are cared for and those swimmers who need a little extra support are given it. A great day out for everyone with this team!
Emma K — Google review
Amazing experience! Swam with the seals at Chinamans hat and saw a ton of dolphins. Wasn't able to swim with the dolphins as they had calves with them but they were very playful and came right up to our boat. I'm not the strongest swimmer but felt well looked after by the crew. The travel time was also made interesting we had activities like riding on ropes off the boat. The crew taught us a lot about the wildlife we were seeing and the conservation efforts. All around a great time, I plan to go again before summer is up!
Jacob B — Google review
Highly recommend this company for seal & dolphin tours. I am 29 weeks pregnant & was dubious about my abilities but the staff were so compassionate & helped me the entire tour to make sure I could get in & out of the water & snorkel & enjoy myself. I also got a bit sea sick & the staff were even helping me with this & making sure I was okay. We sadly didn’t get to see any dolphins but the discounted offer (because of not seeing dolphins) is something we will probably take up before the season ends because it is a lifelong dream to swim with the dolphins!

This charming spot offers an extensive breakfast and lunch menu that includes everything from bacon and egg toasties to housemade pies, all while providing stunning views of the water. With both indoor and outdoor seating options, it’s an ideal place to relax during brunch hours. The location on the wharf enhances your dining experience with its serene waterfront ambiance.
Nice cafe located at the queenscliff harbour wharf. Coffee is definitely great and the views are just stunning when you sit outdoors. Service is friendly. Had the bacon and egg muffin which was tasty. Well worth a visit.

The service was excellent and the barista was one of the sweetest barista we have met Loved the wine The danish pastry was ok but not great maybe because we were there around 3ish

Hands down the most amazing pies I’ve ever tasted! Perfectly flaky pastry, generous fillings, and packed with flavour. Absolutely worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed!
Stephen S — Google review
Great location with great food. It's such a shame the guy that served us today at lunch was extremely rude. I did wish we had chosen one of the other lovely spots rather than provide business to a cafe where they obviously didn't care about being a civil human being to their customers. However we did choose to buy additional drinks at another location as we didn't want to inconvenience and be served again by the rude gentleman. It takes no effort to be kind and decent. It may even make for a nicer day for you. Try it

Great space with plenty of seating in doors and outside. Great simple menu, staff friendly and well trained. Coffee was nice but the cups were very small though, house made pies are amazing 🤩 will try pizzas next time.
Maryleen V — Google review
It’s probably between 3-4 stars based on our experience. We ordered coffee and toasties. Won’t recommend the coffee (the body is a bit too thin) but toasties are okay. Overall, it is definitely overpriced and the seatings need to be cleaned and there were some crumbles on the tables and chairs.
Iris H — Google review
Their Scallop pie is simply delicious 🥧 (Sorry for bit of a mess in the picture but I just want to show there are not one, but two scallops in their pie!!) 🥰 Just sit down at the deck and enjoy the view of Queenscliff dock Be careful don’t leave your food unattended, seagulls will snatch them immediately! 🐦

Queenscliff Harbour Observation Tower

4.9
(22)
Observation deck
The Queenscliff Harbour Observation Tower offers a stunning panoramic view of the harbor and ocean. Visitors can reach the top using either the lifts or stairs, although the stairs may be closed during windy conditions. It's recommended to visit on a sunny day for an enjoyable experience. The tower provides excellent views of Queenscliff, Port Phillip Bay, and the Searoad ferry terminal.
A fantastic spot to take in the stunning surroundings. From the top of the tower, you’re treated to panoramic views of the deep blue sea on one side and lush green nature on the other. It’s also a great place to watch a few cruise ships drifting by in the distance—perfect for a peaceful and scenic experience.
Sammy X — Google review
Queenscliff Harbour Observation Tower is a landmark of Queenscliff. You can either walk up the stairs on the outside (weather permitting) or take the elevator to get to the top. Once you’re up there, the views are absolutely stunning. You can see all the way from Point Nepean to Ocean Grove and everything in between. You can see the yacht club and Swan Island. Even on a clear day, you can still see far off into the distance. As mentioned earlier, it is accessible if you have mobility issues there is an elevator. Afterwards, you could have a bite to eat at the restaurant below called 360. The only negative thing I can think about is that it has no heating/cooling systems, so if it is cold outside, it is cold in the building, and if it is warm outside, it is warm as well. I think that the owners could invest in some insulation at least. All in all, if you were in the Queenscliff area, I would definitely recommend you to visit it as it is a must-see in the region.
Panos T — Google review
Great view of the harbour and ocean from the top of the tower. Both lifts and stairs are available, but stairs would be closed on windy days. Recommended on a sunny day.
Pejman B — Google review
Spectacular views of the rip where Port Phillip Bag opens out to Bass Strait at Point Lonsdale, a few KMs to the south.
Gary P — Google review
Absolutely amazing views! There's a lift inside so no need to use the stairs. Free entry! Interactive displays are very informative.
Robert R — Google review
Free entry, on a clear day get good views of the local area and bay. Watch the ferries arriving & departing. There are stairs or for those with bad feet like myself the lift is useful.
Nick T — Google review
This is a must try adventure if you are into Queenscliff via ferry. Both stairs and lift is available and you can go all the way to top and see the beautiful view.

TARRA Queenscliff is a new state-of-the-art terminal located in Queenscliff, home to the Searoad Ferries. The terminal features a cafe that opens at 7 am daily, offering a variety of breakfast options such as coffee, eggs, and breaky wraps. With its spectacular location and incredible architecture, TARRA Queenscliff provides fantastic customer service and delicious food with attention to detail.
We dined at Tarra during their monthly dinner experience, after a recommendation from a friend - We were super excited to say the least! From the moment we walked in we were greeted warmly and welcomed to our table. The ambiance was lovely, and the speech from the young host to start the evening was a gorgeous touch. We dined during the ‘earth to table’ dinner series, and each month the venue has a rotating theme. The snacks course of the four course experience were actually the stand outs. For us, it felt like they were the most inventive and thoughtful dishes - not to mention the most delicious! It did kind of feel as though the experience peaked early 😅 but all dishes thereafter were still very yummy! The night overall was really lovely, with great food, hospitality and atmosphere, and we would definitely go again. If you’re thinking about it, 100% get yourself a ticket and support a great initiative ✨🙌🫰
Angela L — Google review
Great location with a lovely view. The 500g rib eye steak ($85) was flavorful and well-cooked, though the duck leg fell short of expectations. Despite the restaurant being quiet at 2:30 PM, the food still took around 30 minutes to arrive. Overall, it was a good experience.
Henry T — Google review
Disappointing. Have been to Tarra several times but this is the first time with new chef, very disappointed I had the pasta with what said was a bisque sauce and prawns $36 would have expected fresh prawns and a tasty sauce for that price. Prawns were frozen no flavour at all, bisque sauce was appalling, had no flavour whatsoever, tasted like it was from a bottle not homemade. I think it tasted something like tomato sauce rather than bisque. My daughter had flathead this had no flavour at all perhaps frozen but definitely not fresh and chips were not seasoned, weren’t offered salt or pepper and none on the table. No staff checked if we needed anything during our meal. My other daughter had calamari that was quite nice. We would normally stay for sweets but decided based on our mains would leave to not be disappointed. Not value for money.

Absolutely beautiful location to watch the beach, ferries and people fishing. The food was outstanding and very reasonable. The orange cake was the best cake my wife said she’s ever had and I loved the mousse. Mocktails sublime. Best of all was Ben our waiter, knowledgeable, charming and quick witted. Faultless service from all staff but especially him. What a treasure. Promote him, give him a giant raise!

We went to TARRA in Queenscliff for a belated Mother’s Day celebration as part of the Sail to Lunch experience from Sorrento, and it was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The staff were so lovely and made the whole experience really special - and we even got to see dolphins out the window! Would highly recommend for a memorable lunch by the water.
Kirsten B — Google review
Amazing lunch, great food and service. One of the best meals ever. I would highly recommend visiting Tarra.
Neville P — Google review
Wow, what an amazing complex. A lovely ferry ride from Sorrento to Queenscliff. A wonderful new ferry terminal complex as we disembarked off the ferry, straight into the building. Lovely atmosphere while dining. A fantastic view looking out at the heads, watching container and cargo boats entering Port Philip Heads. We will definitely be back there very soon for another relaxing, lazy day with a lovely lunch and view.

What a great experience! First time taking the Sorrento to Queenscliff ferry which not only provided lovely bay views but the relatively inexpensive (for the quality & service) add-on of lovely food & friendly smiling staff at Tarra made it so much better. Highly recommended!

Fishing pier
The Queenscliff South Pier is a remarkable open-air art exhibition situated on the waterfront of the pier in Queenscliff. This unique event showcases a diverse collection of one hundred artworks created by Australian artists and is displayed from November to April each year. The exhibition, which commenced in 2021-2022, aims to become an annual attraction. The participating artists' original pieces have been reproduced on composite aluminum panels, which have now been securely affixed to the pier structure.
A lengthy wooden pier located near other tourist attractions and parklands in Queenscliff Foreshore Reserve precinct. Features fully conserved and restored historically significant 19th century seated shelter at about halfway and a boathouse at eastern end of pier. The pier itself is used to showcase works of modern art which makes a stroll along the pier even more enjoyable. Lovely tourist attraction 👍👍👍

Queenscliff Pier offers stunning ocean views, peaceful sea breezes, and a great spot for fishing or a relaxing walk. A must-visit for nature lovers and photographers
Ploy P — Google review
One of the better piers in the area for sure! Pier is quite long with some great views of the other cliff side part of the entrance to Port Phillip. There's a small beach area nearby and the water is quite full of fish and calamari, with a few fisherman scattered along the pier. Definitely worth visiting simply for the views across the water!
Kerbray — Google review
Love coming here with my little family. The pier is huge and we always see people fishing. The water’s great for swimming. Soft sand. Toilets and parking are close by as well.
Mia N — Google review
This is such a gorgeous ‘all season’ Pier. Located centrally in Queenscliff, it has good access from the large carpark. Note this is also where the toilets are. Popular with anglers, you’ll find people either in the shelter on a windy day with their rods out in the water or on their little deck chair watching their lines. Popular with kids as a place to leap off the end of the pier (which does annoy some people who are fishing) its a gorgeous place to come and visit. Wheelchair friendly. Close to shops for food and refreshments. Interesting information boards line the pier with some history of the area. Well worth a read.
Debi S — Google review
Everyone loves a stroll along a historic pier, and this ones is beauty, complete with historic life boat station, and covered all weather covered passenger shed, as the pier Was once the Queenscliff terminus for the steamers coming down from Melbourne. Just to make things even better, the fishing good, the beach is really lovely (be careful of the tidal stream, it's strong), with views across Port Philip Heads to Point Nepean.
Pup P — Google review
Beautiful pier. Came here on windy cold day to drop a few lines, but only caught banjo's and a puffer fish.
JP — Google review
🦑 🦑 🦑 if squid and calamari is your thing this is your easiest destination within 1 hr drive of Melbourne. Pier is long and does have shelter. Please note that it does get crowded to coming early before the high tide is essential. There is an Op of catching snapper and pink as well as crabbing in the shallows. Using a fishing drop light is close to guaranteeing a catch. *Note it is under renovations at the moment.

I have always enjoyed visiting Salt Contemporary Art for its impressive artwork and the quality of its food and beverages. The staff is consistently professional and helpful, even during busy times. This gallery/cafe is a valuable addition to Queenscliffe, attracting visitors not only during the Queenscliffe Music Festival in late November but also from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne who come specifically to see certain exhibitions. I appreciate their sophisticated gallery space as well as their delicious drinks and snacks.
The Bird exhibition was beautiful. The printmakers blew me away. I was especially impressed the manager who put on her white gloves and opened up the print drawers for us.

Had an absolutely amazing pie from Rolling Pin Pies and Cakes in Queenscliff.. the Chunky steak pie has a delicious gravy and chunks of meat.. I was very impressed with the pastry which was absolutely delicious.. the service was also excellent.. I came back later to get a pie and lamington.. the shop was absolutely busy and buzzing…no wonder why.. the quality of their pies and pastries is without a shadow of doubt is outstanding.. if you are in Queenscliff give Rolling Pin Pies and Cakes a try.. you won’t be disappointed

First time trying out their pies in queenscliff branch because I saw they won Australia no.1 pies...I'm more of a chunky beef pie person so I tried the pies.. Absolutely divine..I didn't eat it on spot to rave about it. I brought it home n left it in my fridge n I managed to put in the air fryer this morning n bake it out of the oven..so so good every chunk of meat is delicious n chunky n the sauce is so good, pastry is thin n crusty not falling apart next time I will truly make a trip there just to buy their chunky beef pies they were the 2021 winning beef chunky pies n best pies so far I had eaten in victoria..

Disappointed, award winning pie had the $8.10 award winning price and the pies at Costco food court are much better…. The sausage roll tasted ok but was all pastry and no meat , they have the audacity to hit you for 30cents extra for sauce also , if these pies can win best in Australia, I don’t want to try the ones that came 3rd
Werner B — Google review
I'm obsessed with both Mushrooms and truffle, so naturally this was my favourite. But what really took me by surprise was the laksa pie, flavour bomb if the best was I can describe it. Chunky steak cheese and bacon, also delicious. Over I did wish the pastrycwas more flakey. Apple slice wasn't my favourite but that's only because the standard was so hight with the pies!
Maggie T — Google review
Some of the best pies to be had in Victoria. Great bread, pastries, sweets and sandwiches as well. Have been coming here for many years and they are always consistent. Service is always prompt and friendly. Highly recommended.
Stevie65able — Google review
You come here for the pies, they’re pretty good, certainly the best takeaway pie you’ll get in the Geelong area, but not exactly gourmet like some places in the north east or UK, so you might be disappointed if your standards are too high. Service is quick and friendly, they’re usually very busy, so if you want a chat, or dither, again, you might feel short changed. The actual cafe itself is pretty grim, but it caters mainly for grockles, and it’s always packed, so why make an effort.
John P — Google review
Overall 3.5/5 I had a chunky beef pie, which was good. It's not the best I've had as it was missing more chunky beef and a good thick gravy. The gravy was watery and not the best. 3/5 My sausage roll was a winner. 5/5 My partner had a mushroom and truffle pie, which was really tasty, although for me, the truffle was too strong. 4/5 The salad roll was just ok, apparently. Not the best. The bun was dry. 2/5 We shared a vanilla slice with raspberry jam, and this was good, although I only had a small taste. 3.5/5 Maybe I had higher expectations given all the previous awards this place has won?
Timinmelbourne — Google review
My Australian wife took me here and I fell in love with the place. When we were in Oz we went to a lot of places and this was my favorite. The vanilla slice was the best. A must go to if you are ever here but worth the trip to go to.

Circa 1902 GUEST HOUSE is a charming hotel with a European-influenced dining room offering live entertainment. Located at 61 Hesse Street, this heritage building exudes the quaint Victorian style of early two-storey residences. The guest house provides clean rooms and communal bathrooms, ensuring a peaceful stay. While there might be some wait time for food due to staff shortages, the friendly staff and delicious meals make up for it.
We had a fantastic stay at Circa 1902! It was such a lovely touch to be greeted by Sally on our first visit, making us feel right at home. The accommodation was an absolute bargain, especially considering it was a long weekend. The restaurant was excellent, offering delicious food and a great atmosphere. We were aware that the bathrooms were shared, but it didn’t bother us at all—everything was spotless. The rooms were on the smaller side, which is to be expected in a beautiful heritage building, but they were cozy and well-maintained. The only thing we forgot was to ask for a fan, as it was quite a warm weekend. However, with the window open, it was comfortable enough to sleep. The bed was soft and beautiful, making for a restful night. What we appreciated the most was the warm hospitality of the hosts. Their kindness and attentiveness made all the difference. We will definitely be back—five stars! Frank and Maida

Lovely place that I've stayed a number of times. Beautiful location, great value and lovely restaurant down stairs. If you would like an escape from the city down the coast without the craziness of places like torquay. Highly recommend.

Adversied as a guest house to what looks like a beautiful establishment we were horrified at the state and conditions of the place. We stayed here with our two kids ,the room was disgusting, smelt really bad and not properly cleaned with what looks like red wine spilt all over the wall against the bed ,the beds were very uncomfortable, the mattress was clearly very old and you could feel every spring against your body, our family woke with bed bug bites . The shared bathroom was gross food ,hair and ants all over the floor , and if you wanted to have a shower forget it there is no water pressure but a trickle of water . Other guest were playing very loud music until 3am drinking and smoking in a non smoking hostel ,the fire exit was apparently also structurally unsafe so not sure how this even complies. Would not recommend anyone to stay here unless you want a disease.

Wow. What an amazing old building. Beautifully presented lounge and restaurant. Food was excellent. Rooms are super comfy. Absolutely best thing about the weekend away to Queenscliff.

Rooms were small but appropriately furnished. Staff and owners were friendly and helpful. Bathroom could have done with a bit more cleaning but it wasn’t the worst one I’ve ever been in!

What a WONDERFUL place. Old charm. Listening to the windows rattle with the sea air. Wonderful hosts. Will return soon Thankyou both.
