Local mid-market mall (or up-market locally speaking) next to The Stanley hotel with a direct connection accessible by hotel guests only. Mall itself looks fairly new and / or recently updated. The mall has two levels with parking, there are quite a number of restaurants, mostly asian style cuisine or Chinese, to be specific. There is a pharmacy and hypermarket along with a number of stores that cater mostly to well to do locals and expats as well as tourists like myself.

If you like average shopping malls in lawless metropolises, this is the place for you. Once you pass the metal detector at the door you can buy everything from a cappuccino to a bullet proof vest. There’s absolutely no vegetarian food and a surprising absence of pickpockets. I imagine those caught are summarily executed. Would go back again.

There is a smell (like a soiled baby diaper) in VC City Pharmacy & Jack's of PNG, which is located right above City Pharmacy, it's been there for a couple of years now, I wonder why building management hasn't checked the air vents, something either died there or the air filtration system has an issue. Otherwise the rest of the mall is fine.

Newer two-story mall in Port Moresby with a variety of stores and eateries. Many accept credit card or e-wallet payments. Not many (or any?) Western retailers. Technology stores, local crafts, beauty products, clothing, etc.

The product range is vast and well priced from sports gear to electronic goods. I would recommend the supermarket and food outlets as good value and an excellent range of items.

The biggest shop in the Vision City Mall, carries a good variety of products. They have household items, groceries, kids toys, baby care, it's a one stop shop. Affordable for the most part. The security though treat their customers like everyone's a thief, dreadful for any parent carrying their baby's necessities in a tiny bag.

This is my personal favorite address in Port Moresby. When people say Papua New Guinea has over 800 tribes, each with its own distinct language, this museum is the living proof. Unfortunately, it’s poorly managed. For starters, visitors are often left guessing whether it’s even open. The sign outside says it opens on Sundays from 1–3 PM, but on many Sundays I’ve visited, it’s been closed during those hours. I understand PNG is a Christian country, which may explain the closures, but Sunday is often the only day families are free to visit! A Monday closure, like many museums around the world do would make more sense. I’ve heard that overseas visitors can sometimes arrange a private visit through their hotel when the museum is closed, though I haven’t confirmed this myself. Another issue is the lack of recent publications. The last known collaboration was over a decade ago. For a museum that only displays a small portion of its full collection, publishing research or catalogues would be a great way to preserve and share PNG’s cultural knowledge, especially considering the country’s most prestigious university (UPNG) has a dedicated anthropology and archaeology department. On my most recent visit, only half the museum was open. Entry was through the back door, tickets were inconsistently charged with no receipts, even parking was charged “per person”, not per car, again with no receipt. It all felt very opaque. The displays themselves need attention too. Some labels are inaccurate, for example, a bilum described as having seeds is clearly decorated with cowrie shells and other seashells. It is also unmistakably from the sepik region, but the origin isn’t mentioned on the label card. With PNG’s vast cultural richness, these details should be better provided. Other practical issues include broken air conditioning, understaffing, and a lack of supervision, parents often let young kids run around the artifacts unchecked. Despite all this, I love this museum. It’s a treasure trove of PNG’s cultural heritage and identity, and a rare space where so many of its diverse traditions are brought together under one roof. Not to be missed by any POM residents or visitors!!!

One of the most incredible places to visit in PNG. It provides so much historical and cultural context through artifacts, clothing, and art. There is so much to see and everything is well explained. It is free to enter, but do ask for donations. Note that the staff will sometimes close the museum if they have a meeting. Recommend getting there early in the day (right when it opens) to ensure one has time to see things.

They've renovated the place and it's more spacious and has more lighting now. Quite alot of artifacts from WWII, a whole room or corner dedicated to the history of the fuzzy wuzzy angels and the WWII relics. It had potteries, head dresses to other traditional weapons, tools, bilums etc on display. However, it would be nice to see a whole variety of artifacts or have a corner each decimated to the different regions that is the NGI, Momase, Southern and Highlands so locals and tourists alike can appreciate the vast variety of cultural artifacts and history from the different regions. All in all the experience was top tier, had a great time there. Would highly recommend visiting the Museum while in Pom and I'd rate the experience a 9/10 because PNG cultural heritage is rich and it only captures a fraction of that.

Probably the best museum I’ve ever been to. A simple but thorough collection of extremely well preserved and fascinating objects that represent the tapestry of Papua New Guinean culture. An absolute must if in Port Moresby - there isn’t much tourism completion in town!

This Place is a Glimpse of the country whole. Just a step inside and you can feel the vibrancy of the country's Richest culture and traditions boasting over 800+ tribes and cultures blending into one another. The friendly faces of the staff will have lost in the artefacts background and the practices each tribe has. This is one of the must go to location when in the country....

Best Burger in town. They have two outlets, One is in Waigani and the other is at Downtown. Value for money compare to their competitors. Decent waiting time for orders. Secure carpark plus parking space.

I recently tried the Kiwi Deluxe burger, and I have to say, it left a lot to be desired. The meat patty was disappointingly flat, dry, and lacking any seasoning to really bring it to life. On a brighter note, the fries were decent, providing a small redeeming quality to the meal!

Went to the Waigani branch today for lunch and was very very dissatisfied and disappointed in the burgers that I got, Thinking that it is associated with the MEAT HAUS a that they would serve FRESH meat patties! This is a more budget friendly place to shop, and it’s the best place to find Indian cooking ingredients and snacks. Prices are generally cheaper, but not always. They also make fresh coconut milk here, which is a nice touch! You’ll also find a wide range of local ingredients, such as cassava, sago, and occasionally even bamboo tubes and highland ferns for mumu. The downside is that the meat and seafood sections often give off unpleasant smells and don’t look and feel hygienic. However, for staples and pantry items, this place offers better value overall.

I was really disappointed with my experience here. The food was well below par – absolutely tasteless and lacking any flavor. It felt like little effort was put into seasoning or preparation.

This is the best place to splurge on the assortment of dimsums and dumplings for lunch. The variety of choices is so wide that you can not help but try almost all of them. I hope they serve their siomais with chili garlic oil in the future though. :)

The Dim Sum Breakfast on Sundays is definitely something I'd like to try out. Great food! The Dim Sum recipes are definitely a highlight of the place. Yam Basket is a must try! Interior is so spacious, 2 bars and a stage for functions.

A good place for Chinese-Malay dishes. Decent value for money and flavourful. It's Best to come here with a group to share meals. They have a great range of beef, pork and chicken dishes but offer a very limited seafood dish selection. Service is very fast and wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes.

I love the Singaporean Laksa. Service there was good however appetizer should be served first before any other dish ordered. Otherwise great service and amazing Asian, mainly Singaporean dishes.

A peaceful escape in the middle of Port Moresby! Great for seeing native wildlife like birds, reptiles, and cassowaries. Trails are easy to walk, and the staff are friendly. Perfect for a half-day visit with family or solo travelers.

Port Moresby doesn't have much for tourists but if you're here even for just a short stay you must visit the Nature Park. Excellent little zoo with birds in aviaries and thousands of flying foxes, the largest bats in the world live wild in the tree tops. There's a small cafe and gift shop and everything well maintained. Don't miss!

Lots of interesting animals here - birds, bats, wallabies, snakes swallowing chickens. There's also a cafe/restaurant inside to grab lunch if you're hungry.

Fantastic nature park offering glimpses of some of PNG's most notable wildlife, including crocodiles and the Bird of Paradise. Cash & credit cards accepted for entrance fee (which is higher for tourists than it is for locals). Small snack bar/restaurant on site as well for refreshments. Areas of the park can be reserved for private events like weddings and birthday parties. Large enough to be impressive but small enough to be manageable. Clear trails guide you through aviaries, and elevated sections to view various wildlife. Small reptile building. Demonstrations of traditional huts and boats. A large population of bats has started roosting in the trees in one area of the park, which was not intended and has become an annoyance that staff are trying to figure out how to evict. Everything is clean, organized, and well-maintained. Great photo opportunities throughout. Truly an enjoyable space to observe animal and plants in a natural setting. Visited on a Sunday afternoon. It was really busy but there was no wait or delay in purchasing tickets.

Very nice Golf Club and friendly Staff and Members. The Course is long and challenging, although with no bunkers. Water on some of the holes, especially the lake/river at hole 15, 16 and 17. Crocodiles are said to be living in the lake.

Royal Port Moresby Golf Club has very good features. This includes a Driving Range, House wind, Putting Green, a Restaurant and even Pokies and Bar. It's the best place to hangout✌✌✌✌✌✌

We chose this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. Parking is on the road in front of the store. There will be a person there to guide you, so we followed their instructions. There is a security guard in front of the store, so you can feel safe. The inside of the store was spacious and very stylish. Once you've received a menu, you order at the counter. I order a break fast burrito wrap and flat white. It took about 10 minutes for it to be served. The most important thing is the taste... I loved it. It was a lot of scrambled egg and bacon and cheese…. The green sauce was basil flavored. The portions were just right. Also flat white was super good. It was a little bit bitter but coffee aroma was good. I will come here again.

One can easily get discouraged by the fact that you have to park on the roadside and then walk in. But then, everything changes. The setting is simply beautiful. The toasted, chicken sandwich was filling. And of course, coffee, coffee, coffee . . . why i decided to try out this place - truly PNGean flavour.

One of the better cafes in Port Moresby that has a good atmosphere, very clean & good for meetings, but the food was terrible. We ordered Katsu Sando (mehh), bolognese (3/5 quite sweet), and chicken schnitzel (so dry & feels like you’re eating cardboard). For the serving portions & taste, the food is way overpriced. The facilities are very poor, with most vendors sitting and selling off the ground. The walkways also need some improvement, with visitors having to negotiate through scattered watery pathways. Other than that, the quality of the produce is good and on par with that offered by Gordon's market vendors.

Boroko Market is a City market and the produces are brought from the fringes of the City and sold there. It has variety of fresh and organic produce from garden foods to fresh meats. It's very affordable and reliable. Spaces parking lot and friendly sellers that will greet you with a warmth smile as you enter the market. Very trustworthy and reliable 💯😄👏

Fresh variety of fruits, healthy vegetables, cooking bananas and all the organic food supply. Saturday morning is a good time to get something for your family. Local villagers grow and bring to market their products so it's worth spending on these items. Enough car park space both inside and outside. Manned by guards so it's safe for everyone to come by and shop.

The infrastructure could use a little upgrade but the variety of local homegrown food is top notch. If refrigerators and coolers were installed and people are able to sell their produce being kept safe from festering tropical heat would be great.

Extremely Disappointed with My Experience at Buffalo Burger I recently visited Buffalo Burger in Port Moresby on January 2, 2025, and had a deeply troubling experience that I feel compelled to share. While eating my breakfast wrap, I discovered a tooth inside my meal. This was not just an accident—it was a serious breach of food safety, and I immediately brought it to the attention of the staff. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the management failed to offer a proper apology, replacement meal, or even a refund. Instead, they simply collected the tooth and handed me a form to fill out. The lack of accountability and customer care was shocking. What followed was even more alarming. Instead of addressing the incident with professionalism, the company began threatening me with legal action and intimidation. I was contacted numerous times through emails and phone calls, where I was accused of defamation and false reporting, despite providing clear evidence of the incident. The situation escalated further when I was contacted repeatedly—despite my request for all communication to go through me directly—leading to emotional distress for my family, especially as we were in the midst of a mourning period. It is deeply concerning that a business would attempt to silence a customer who is simply sharing their truth. This type of bullying behavior, combined with a clear lack of food safety standards, has been extremely disappointing. I strongly advise anyone considering dining at Buffalo Burger to think twice. I would also encourage the management to focus on improving both their food safety practices and customer service, and to act with integrity and professionalism in their dealings with customers. I will continue to seek justice for this incident, and I hope that this review serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency and respect for all customers.

The location is convenient to many people who reside in the Northern suburbs of Port Moresby. The quality of food is decent and the staff are polite and friendly. There are dine-in and takeaway options, and parking is almost always available.

PEA PIE POD: Had the chicken mushroom pie.. not great. Mash potatoes, I think they are using instant, didn't look like fresh potato mash. Green mint peas looked brownish green.. smelled off. Took 3 bites only..yeah couldn't eat it. Packaging is good though.

It's a beautiful set-up, very approachable. For someone who loves their NRL games, this is a nice spot to have a much and watch your favorite team with other NRL fanatics there. Reputable Taxi Service Cabs are always present to be utilized.

This fast food joint was safe, relatively clean, and the service was friendly and efficient. However, If you're looking for any healthy option, this is definitely not the place to go, as there’s none! The focus here is on indulgence. So if you're in the mood for a hearty meal, you won't be disappointed, portion size was super generous!

Popped into this little burger joint in town for the first time today. The customer service was decent overall—quick and efficient—but a simple smile from the staff would’ve made it feel a lot more welcoming. The counter attendant in particular could use a bit more energy. I ordered the Dirty Burger, which came with a side of fries. The bun was soft and fresh, the patty cooked well-done with just the right amount of seasoning. The fries were hot and fresh too, which was a nice touch. Wait time was reasonable at around 10 minutes. Overall, I enjoyed my first meal here and would recommend it to fellow burger lovers looking for a solid bite in town.

We have been twice now in two weeks for lunch. Both times had the Dirty Burger which does exactly what it says on the tin. Simple great tasting burger and fry’s, comes quickly and a great place to sit outside undercover to eat your tasting food. There are no bells and whistles and the food does all the talking would highly recommend!

A quaint establishment at the ground floor of the Ela Beach tower building. Friendly sales staff and the food service was fast which is excellent for those needing to grab a quick bite. Ang's is an institution in Port Moresby. Wonderful food & wonderful people. Even though it's moved they've retained many of the staff but not the chef. Even with a new chef I'm pleased to say the quality & taste of the food is just as good as it was before. As noted by another reviewer the new location has plenty of off-street, secure parking. Someone also commented on staff being less than excellent, even rude. I'm inclined not to agree. Yes, they have their own style but they are good. I'm a regular diner and I don't have to order, the service staff know what I like & simply confirm with me if I want that or something else. PNG service can be challenging & the staff at Ang's are the best I've come across.

The bar and the entire interior are beautiful. I especially love the balcony and the view, particularly when the sun is setting. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the people are great too. I think many foreigners enjoy it there, and based on my experience, I really like it as well.

Comfortable seating area. Great view of the yacht and sunset. Not much of food and drink selection just 1 laminated paper menu. The Reef & Beef, Tapas and Stone Grill Mix Seafood were good for sharing for two if you are not a big eater. There's a lunch and dinner buffet on the weekdays. Breakfast at Sail Cafe on weekend is good too with good food option but service abit slow. If you just want to have quick breaky then this might not be good.

The fishes come directly from ocean by boat. It means sea foods here are very fresh! The price is also reasonable. You can find variety of reef fish, ocean fish, lobster and crabs. Sometimes we can find interesting fishes which cannot eat at restaurant.

Ela Beach has changed alot in the 17 or so years I have lived in Port Moresby. It is now very clean and has great facilities for basketball, volleyball and great pathways for running or a long afternoon walk. The beach is the cleanest I have seen in all my years of reaiding there.

Excellent venue for large gathering or functions. The view is amazing. Sound acoustics spot on for live band entertainment.

Our experience at the APEC house was one like no other. I am so proud to be able to say that our teams event was the first free public event ever held at the APEC house, Trostle Films x Tourism Promotion Authority. The venue went above and beyond to make sure that all of her needs were met for our event and the facility was absolutely flawless over and over. The staff is professional and the security was great and it was great to see the community come together to be able to enjoy this event. Hopefully the APEC house will be continued to be used over the years for public interest as it has been so far.

Since early 2025 I visited the place. APAC Haus is located within the area of Ella Beach which is a beautiful man made decorated beach. It's more safe to have fun or any other do any other activities like sports activities, Jogging etc. I'd say the place is more safe because its consist of manny security guards securing every angle of the location.

Excelent place to have your venue or conference. It is definitely the best facility of its kind in Port Moresby. So glad to see it is constantly used. It is able to hold multiple seminars due the the array of rooms available.

Unless you HIRE professionals to do your Audio and Visuals, you will never gain the full benefit of the place. Otherwise, it is a magnificent building.

Overall food is good. Recently they have new dishes in their menu which is better, have more option and suitable for drinker. Try their stuffed cabbage, spicy fried rice, lemongrass chicken vermicelli, seafood platters. There have 3 section the lounge area which is a nice ambience for wine & group gathering/function, the restaurant for proper dining seating & the sport bar.

The Element is located at MRDC Haus at Downtown, Port Moresby. Its on Level 1. Great settling, both indoor and outdoor. Ambience in the night is great. Good coffee and cocktails.

Element bar is just good. It is the place you think about when you think about a bar to drink and relax 😌. It is located at the second floor of the MRDC building in down town. The atmosphere is just fine with ventilated bar area and a open balcony extended outwards towards the main city roads where you can get fresh air and enjoy your beer 🍺 and food. It also has a beautiful pool area for you to play and relax while enjoying your beer 🍺. There is also a music and DJ system where it is easy and accessible for music requests. Generally I would say you wouldn't like it when you enter this place. It's just so fine 🙂

The place is located on the first floor of the MRDC House in Down Town Port Moresby. It is a semi outdoor bar area which gives it an open, airy feel.The bar allows the visitor a great view of the Harbour and one can watch a beautiful sunset while sipping a cold beer. The music is trendy and sometimes one gets to listen to classic oldies.The patronage is mostly workers coming off work for a short meeting or to unwind after a long day or holiday makers looking for a fun, safe and secure spot to hang out. Staff are attentive and friendly. There is a cosy atmosphere about the place. The quick meals are delicious and reasonably prized for anyone wanting a quick bite during the day. Parking can be a challenge sometimes.A nice option if you want to hang out and have a conversation without rowdy crowds and very loud music.

What a great atmosphere. The place has a very nice feel about it, the staff are so polite, friendly and helpful. They have started offering a breakfast menu now. There is a range of very comfortable indoor or outdoor seating to choose from. There is a nice selection of food and drinks to suit most tasts. With options for small, medium or large meals to accommodate any hunger. I have eaten here several times now and consider the meals to be great value for money.

Very poor customer service at the PIH, 3mile branch POM. Stood there for about 20 minutes, without being served and left coz the staff (short stocky lady and the skinny lady) where very ignorant. Not even checking if a customer is waiting or not. Sack them and get employees with good customer service. You cannot keep a hungry customer, standing and waiting.

I come here at 8 pm The restaurant was great, calm & enjoyable. We can see life cooking at the middle with the rock kitchen. They call it Mumu ( traditional way to cook in PNG ) I ordered pork lamb mumu, it was great taste & juicy meat. And one dessert also nice. The one im bit regret is one of the waiters is not so polite, they need to be more friendly & professional to all guest. Overall this place is reccommend, good place , good food, worth price ! 😁

Asked for a reservation at an empty restaurant, at a hotel with a security gate, asked for water 3 times 45 minutes apart before getting any, the food was wonderful, but 8 dishes and dessert for the "experience" was over the top. 6 and dessert might be the sweet spot. We were directed to sit upstairs despite all the outdoor seats being open. It was a nice way to experience high-end versions of PNG foods.

Restaurant beside Hilton that offers some great food that's reasonably priced. Despite its name, their mumu dishes are not the best. The pork belly and fish were a little dry. I would recommend their lobster and their pickled pitpit appetizer, both of which were delicious. For a drink, their alcoholic ginger beer is great and for dessert, their Mumu rocks which are essentially ice cream within a chocolate encasing. It is an outdoor dining space, so be sure to wear mosquito repellent before attending. It may also be a little hot as one of their fans was not working when we visited

8 dishes of the normal food we usually have in our homes that were cooked differently. The dessert was a mystery and came out perfecto. They have small housewinds connected with a bridge over a shallow water. I would love to go there again

Worth a visit for the stunning architecture. The guards were nice but wouldn’t let me inside without a collared shirt. That’s perfectly fair, I’d just intentionally dressed down in PNG to not be a robbery target! Pack a polo shirt for this one.

Papua New Guinea. This land is promising. Natural Resources is abundant here. Trees as much as 3-4 persons can hold. Large Tuna and big aquatic fishes. Rich in Cultures, Customs and Traditions, it here. All countries start from small beginning, trials and hardship. I think, progress is coming. My first entry to this county was 2006. At this moment, some things are happening in Port Moresby. Many more are needed, but it is changing and developing. Let's give this country a time and support their local leaders. For this building, this Parliament House speaks of the PNG Culture. For development and development to come. 5 stars.

A nice building which reflects the Sepik Haus Tambaran in the A block and the Highlands roundhouse in the C block. The Chamber where the Parliament sessions are usually held is in the A block. This block contains the Prime Ministers office on the 4th floor. The Ministers offices and the Speakers office are a level down from the Prime Ministers office respectively. Some Ministers offices are located in level 3 of the B block. Most if not all other members of Parliament have their offices in this block. The C block Highlands roundhouse does all the catering and contains also the sauna, a squash area, a mini gym and a bar area. This makes this area a recreational block. The floor of the building was once covered in carpet but it has now been removed and replaced with tiles. The doors to the members offices are electronically controlled using facial recognition and/or finger print technology. Upgrade to the building interior has been made but the air conditioning to the B1 section of the building almost always fail to provide good ventillation. The garden in the B section especially where the pandanus are, needs to be given a review. It somehow does not match the building and the overall environment. I give it a 3 star because the building in certain areas needs further improvement.

Great Food and Great atmosphere but the only downside was the customer service. As a fellow Papuan New Guinean the way we were treated by the service staff was appalling. We paid for the food not their attitudes and it took me having to be rude for them to have some shame and behave properly. Appalling behaviour especially when I witnessed said staff behaving completely polite with foreigners but couldn’t give us the same courtesy.
