Greek restaurant
Taverna Amelia in Sisi offers a delightful dining experience, making it a must-visit for those in Crete. Renowned for its exceptional cuisine, the restaurant serves delectable dishes such as souszakake and Kleftiko. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable evening. Guests are treated to complimentary meze of bread and sauces upon arrival, followed by a mouthwatering homemade ice cream with cake at the end of their meal.
10 out of 10 experience at Amelia’s, would recommend!! We went for lunch & dinner and had great service and food each time. The staff was so friendly, we had my friend’s little baby with us and they were so accommodating! The food was served quickly, and was some of the most flavourful & fresh food I’ve had in a long time. While waiting we enjoyed our delicious fresh orange juice & had some bread and dips on the house. Make sure to book your table in time, especially on Thursday’s when they have a Greek themed evening with live music.

We had really good time at this restaurant today, everything was sooo delicious and everyone was so kind and friendly. If you come here, you will definitely leave full and happy. You also get different breads with appetizers before the meal, and then raki and dessert are offered by the house after the meal. Thank you for everything, we will definitely come here again! :)

Phenomenal place! Food was amazing! Atmosphere and decor was fab! Staff were brilliant! Could not recommend enough. But book a table as it was busy! 10 out of 10!

Restaurant Review: A Delicious Find in Sissi, Crete If you're in Sissi and craving authentic Cretan food with generous portions, this local gem is a must-visit. The setting is cozy and welcoming, with a rustic charm that adds to the experience. The food is the real highlight—flavorful, hearty, and made with fresh local ingredients, and the portions are more than generous. You definitely won’t leave hungry! Service can be a bit chaotic when the place gets busy, with some delays, but the staff are friendly and do their best to keep up. Overall, it’s great value for money, and the quality of the food more than makes up for any small service hiccups. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Beautiful hidden gem on the beautiful island of Crete. Loved everythibg about this restaurant, from the beautiful setting and decor, the fresh and delicious food all the way to the nice and very helpful staff, an amazing experience all around! The portions were very egenrouss and I recommend the lamb, the grilled octopus, fried calamari and especially the spicy tzatziki sauce (off menue, you have to ask for it)! They also offered us a delicious orange cake at the end which on its own, is worth trying this amazing place!

Lovely restaurant just off the main harbour in Sisi. Family run and we got there about 745 without a reservation. Very busy. Lots of staff on which was good. Delicious food and complimentary bread starter and ice cream desert. The kelfitco and moussaka were delicious. Good atmosphere and lovely turquoise decor ! Thank you

This was my personal highlight of our family holiday to Sissi in Crete. This place is amazing, especially on the traditional Greek night. The staff are super friendly, the atmosphere is awesome, the food is great. It was so busy. I mean wall-to-wall busy. This is the only reason that the service is 4 stars and not 5. And because it was so busy, the staff were rushing around everywhere, getting caught up in the activities and having fun along with the patrons, but we ordered drinks several times that didn't arrive to the table yet when the bill came, we had still been charged for. A quick word with the waiting staff though and it was quickly sorted. Genuinely, a great place.

Restaurant
The Pink Flamingo restaurant in Sissi offers a wide range of delectable dishes that blend traditional Greek cuisine with familiar favorites like pizza and burgers. The menu includes gyros, mezze platters, and other Greek eats, ensuring there is something for everyone. Despite the emphasis on freshness, which may lead to slightly longer waiting times, the food at Pink Flamingo is well worth it.
This place by far exceeded my expectations!! The staff were absolutely lovely, at the end of the meal gave us some places on the island to go visit. The food we ordered was divine and the cocktails were very well presented as well as absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back, 10/10 recommend!

We had a wonderful experience at this family restaurant, enjoying the delicious food and fantastic service. Mom prepares excellent Greek dishes, and the daughters serve with big smiles. The atmosphere is very calm, with no loud music and free from tourist crowds. We loved visiting for the whole experience.

Love Pink Flamingo, we've been visiting for a few years and the staff are lovely, food is delicious and it's all set in lovely surroundings x

An absolutely fantastic restaurant. You simply cannot visit the beautiful town on Sissi without experiencing the hospitality, the amazing food and delightful staff at the Pink Flamingo. From stepping into the restaurant to leaving, you are treated with the best attentive service from Nikolaus. The food is first rate and we tried many things on the menu. For 15 euros for a Meze Plate, I can highly recommend this to share. The moussaka is Devine and the Gyros are the tastiest we had. There is a small playground for the kids and both indoor and outdoor seating. Also, make sure you try the Sangria. Sit with a gyros and a small jug of the sangria and enjoy the sea view. Perfection.

Restaurant
Remezzo is known for its classification as a seafood restaurant, but the menu offers much more than just fish. Alongside prawn cocktails, sea bass, and calamari, you can also find pasta dishes, pizza, and vegetarian stuffed peppers. The terrace provides a beautiful view of the small harbor while enjoying these diverse options. Customers have praised the outstanding service and breathtaking sunsets. Even younger guests are catered to with delicious pizza offerings.
The atmosphere and location of Remezzos is really lovely, right over the little port in sisi - a perfect spot to eat dinner and enjoy the sunset. The food was flavourful and well prepared; they had issues with the card machine but the owner was really friendly (& trusting!!) so we went back the next day to pay, not a problem at all - all in all a really wonderful experience.
Hannah D — Google review
My husband and I were seated before we could even look at the menu at the entrance. We had a sticky menu, and when the food came, the mussels were clearly frozen beforehand but not indicated on the menu. The bread and tzatziki were pretty good, but we didn't feel good eating the rest because it was so bad that we were already hoping not to get food poisoning. The table behind my husband also sent most of their food back because, from what I overheard, it was just bad.
Nikitatjuh — Google review
We ate here twice, lunch and then dinner. Both times the food was very delicious and fresh. The prices are very reasonable especially for the excellent food. The location is idyllic, a cool breeze during the hot day, a fabulous sunset for dinner.
Reuben E — Google review
This place has a lovely view over the sea front and great location for the sunset. It was empty when we went which is such a shame as the staff are very friendly and helpful and the menu choice is good. We chose a few different starters and then shared a pizza. All the food was good and I would recommed.
Vicki B — Google review
Totally underrated place. The owner and service were very friendly and attentive. The food exceeded my expectation. Its traditional greek but with a little twist. I had the beef souvlaki and it came with a interesting little mayo. The meat was very juicy and had a great grilled flavour. Vegetables and potatoes were a great addition and I liked that it was something else than just fries on the side. The plates looked very pretty. The spicy cheese dip had a nice kick and was a very tasty extra to the dishes. Probably the best place in Sisi. Would 10/10 recommend this place. Plus the view around sunset was amazing.
Elisa M — Google review
Beautiful restaurant with the best pasta I’ve ever had and can’t beat the view. Was more expensive than other restaurants I’ve been to but is absolutely worth the money, and the water was free as well as I free dessert. Would absolutely recommend!

Booked a table via their Facebook page, response within 15 minutes to confirm booking. Great place to watch the sunset by the bay. I had the pizza which was really good and husband had the meatballs which were so light and delicious. Very good service.

Went here to seek some advice from the doctor about some medicine I had purchased for my 10 month old. He was very unhelpful, gave me incorrect guidance (I found this out after) and demanded I pay him 10 Euros for him giving me his false information. Avoid at all costs. This stylish establishment specializes in glitzy drinks and treats, offering patrons the opportunity to enjoy a sandwich or crepes while lounging under charming thatched umbrellas, all while taking in the picturesque harbor view.
Excellent food, very friendly & attentive staff/service. The location is perfect for a romantic & cozy evening with sunset. The music is totally coolッ 100% satisfied, a really cool place!

We loved this bar/restaurant for drinks and food. It was really good, although we only had pizza, garlic bread and fries it was real good value...... the food, the drinks, the view. The view is astonishing what a lovely tranquil atmosphere. The staff are also unbelievably pleasant especially Erisa she is so polite and welcoming. Would strongly recommend a visit here.

Great place with a beachfront view, perfect for sunset time, everything we tasted was just delicious, service and people were great, we returned there a couple of times and will get back in the future. Prices are fair, Highly reccommended!!

Went here a few times for lunch. The service is great everyone very friendly. The wraps were lovely and the chicken gyros. Also have to recommend the chocolate and strawberry waffles. Top tip add a scoop of Oreo ice-cream. So good! Lovely location looking over the sea. Great view of the sunset.
Vicki B — Google review
Food is good but not special, prices were good. The waiters are not very attentive, they didn't smile once. Also took a long time until they collected the plates. Definitely not your typical Greek restaurant.
Ella S — Google review
The food was amazing, with plenty of vegetarian options, and freshly made. Great drinks menu and lovely views of the sea inlet and little port. Would definitely recommend

Staff very attentive, great food. I had my last meal here, sea bass, presented whole. It was flame grilled and incredibly tasty. We dined here twice.

4.9.2025, two Arabic speaking families consisting of 2 young couples and two toddlers asked the bartender (I think he is also the owner) to set for drinks in the terrace, he refused in a rude way stating the terrace only for ordering food while 5 of 8 tables had only drinks on the tables. Even the waitress was embarrassed by the bartender behaviour. We ended up eating and drinking in the adjacent restaurant called Kyma, which was amazing

Love the pirate ship set up and decor, great fun! Didn't eat here so can't comment but the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Live music act was great, he had the party going for sure. I'll definitely be back here

Lovely English run pub. We went on a Thursday were there was a gentleman playing the guitar. The drinks were a reasonable price. The only downside is that it was quiet far away from anything else, such as parking.

We love this place! From here you can watch the sun set over the sea. The ambience is of course a matter of taste, but I love the Caribbean/pirate style. The service is so good and very nice, the frequent live music is brilliant and the cocktails are simply divine! If you're near Sissi, a visit is a must!

Beautiful bar on three levels with view to the beach. Nice staff and great quality of drinks and beers. We are definitely coming back another day to listen the live rock music :) The People here have a good sense of humor as well - we like that!

Beach
Avlaki Beach is a stunning coastal spot located near Paralia Limani, offering clear blue waters, white sand, and encircling rocky formations. It's an ideal place for swimming, sunbathing, and unwinding. Situated in the tranquil village of Sissi, this beach is known for its calm atmosphere despite being a popular resort area in Crete.
A really nice beach to chill and walk around, sandy but windy so we didn’t decide to swim. Went around 6pm and were almost alone, so its quite secluded. The area around is nice to walk around 😊
Laura P — Google review
We were there in January and the beach was full of rubbish. A real shame for an actually nice little beach
Aileen A — Google review

A. K — Google review
Really nice beach with white sand. The toilets are a bit far away but cool to see showers and changing booths nearby. Also there is a beach bar next to it. From the flip side it is hard to get there- you have to use a cab or walk in the heat to get there from hotels nearby. But it is worth if you do not want to visit the rocky beach.
Margus R — Google review
Poor quality, rocky beach and always choppy! However, if you climb up the rocks and walk around the headland, it brings you down on to a promenade, to Kalimera beach, which is by far the best (and only sandy) beach in the area and well worth the 20-30 minute, 2km walk from the other end of Sissi
Chuck F — Google review
Small and relatively private sandy beach but rocky as you enter the sea. The people that run the sunbeds (7€ for 2 beds and parasol), very kind and friendly and pass out fruit and water for free. Also offer free use of sea shoes, flippers, lilo's etc
Nick D — Google review
Very secluded, you can park at 30m from the actual beach. Beachbeds are on the expensive side, but you get a bottle of cooled water with them. Not very childfriendly. Big dropoff after 10meters, large rocks/pebbles.

Plori is a fantastic family-owned restaurant that stands out among the competition. With its breathtaking ocean view and sunset, it offers a memorable dining experience. The dedicated staff, notably Mike and Anna, are efficient, warm, and approachable. They consistently provide excellent service despite the restaurant's popularity. In terms of cuisine, Plori serves mouthwatering dishes at reasonable prices. Their pizzas are particularly noteworthy for their unparalleled taste and versatility in accommodating various topping combinations.
We had a very pleasant lunch here! Prices are good because food is amazing and portions are huge. Staff is very friendly, they even gave us a mini ice cream which is wonderful. Definitely would eat here again.

Plori has a bar and restaurant around the corner facing the entrance to the harbour. We ate at the restaurant twice with both meals being excellent. A wonderful location for dinner, sitting outside watching the sunset in the far distance. Very efficient and friendly staff with the cost of a 2 course meal including a 500ml of wine and 1ltr of water coming to a total of 50 Euros. I will so miss Crete.

What a wonderful family run restaurant!! We are regulars in sisi and plori is definitely one of the best!! The staff are fast, friendly and personable. The food- ESPECIALLY THE PIZZA- is the best around. They have a wonderful view of the ocean, bay and sunset and are always busy, but the experience and food quality remains the best around. We will remain return customers!!

A huge portion of Cretan salad, a little bit light on the cheese, but very good value. Service is s average and the food took a while to arrive despite not being busy with only 4 or 5 tables occupied. This was lunchtime and I overheard one table being told the ovens were not turned on yet.

The Plori Restaurant served us delightful meals. Teresa the wateriest was extra kind and very polite at all times. Menios Taverna, situated in the village, is a shining example of local gastronomy, offering dishes prepared with meat from an open-air oven and carafes of house wine. The desserts provided are constantly changing, ensuring a pleasant surprise when it's time to settle the bill.
The food was absolutely fabulous. There was plenty of it, and it was served piping hot. The service was 1st class. At the end of the meal, we said we didn't want the raki and they offered us something different which was very nice. My wife had the C,retan chicken which was superb

We had a great meal in August, the food was great, the service and location was good. It’s nice to support a great little restaurant in Sisi. We will be back again. We had Pork Souvlaki, Tzatziki, Bread and Olives, Dolmandes and Greek salad.

Delicious food-everything we ate was spot on and authentically Greek. Compliments to the chef!
Emma C — Google review
Terrific tavern - everything cooked to perfection! Service is extremely welcoming and kind, the owner gave very warm attention to the kid we had in the group, and all that with great VFM. we were a bit suspicious because this village is very touristic and we were afraid it will affect the quality.. It doesn't!

If you're looking for a place that can remind you of home, consider giving Peggy Gordons Irish Bar a try. This establishment offers the opportunity to watch live sports events and participate in karaoke nights. They also serve a decent pint of Guinness! The staff is friendly and they even have an enjoyable quiz, although it seems that the questions may repeat during the same week.
Great bar, lovely atmosphere, cracking pint of guiness and good measures on the spiced rum. We'll be back for sure. Great staff, Shirley is a star 🌟
Gareth B — Google review
I would definitely recommend heading to Peggy Gordons for a drink if staying in Sissi. We enjoyed chatting and enjoying a drink at the bar. He plays the football matches for those wanting to watch a game and the outside seating area will be perfect for the summer evenings. The hours on Google are incorrect as he has been open throughout our stay.

Best bar in Sisi amazing atmosphere. Staff were very friendly, looked after all 15 of us no problems at all. Get yourself down there!

Day 2

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Paralia Mpoufos, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Beach Bar Kalimera Kriti. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

A really beautiful beach. At the time we arived there, around 6 pm, it was really empty but we manage to meet a lovely girl, named miss Foxy who literally played with us for a few hours...aparently she likes to run from home and come to the beach and play catch with everybody🤗❤️

Great coved beach. Albeit stony and sandy. Definitely take water shoes. 10euros for 2 sunbeds and brolly. And a short walk up to a snack bar. But a donut man and a fruit van come buy once or twice a day. Pay in cash.

Amazing beach walking distance from Sissi that provide all facilities you need . Showers sunbeds and a nice cafe that provides food and good drinks that you might need in your day out. The staff are very welcoo helpful and nice. We recommend it the beach of you staying near by and you don't need to travel far. Visitorsinmanchester.com

Nice area but shingle amongst the sand, and large sharp rocks in water. Water warm.
Adrian H — Google review
Nice pebbled beach, not so easy to get in, not really suitable children as the waves can be big, there's nowhere on the beach to buy food or drink, there is a building but it was never open on the 2 occasions we visited.

Lovely small little beach that is accessible from the road and a small footpath. There's a lot of waves because it's a bay so if you're into that, this is the place to be.

Sissi Mini Golf is a popular attraction in Sissi, Crete, offering a surprisingly challenging 18-hole course in a fantastic location. Visitors can expect great fun and a warm welcome at this mini golf spot. It's one of the top things to do in Sissi, Greece, alongside other attractions like Sunset Bar and Boufos Beach.
The mini golf is a family run business that’s been there I believe 20+ years. It has a cute bar attached and is the perfect stop off for an afternoon game and evening drink. The course is really well put together, very colourful and really fun! The brothers who were running the bar the night we went were super fun and inviting too.

what better way to build an appetite before your dinner, or relax after a beautiful meal one of the local restaurants. 18 holes of varying difficulty and lots of fun, great welcome when you enter, from well stocked bar for everything from a beer, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks even tea or coffee. There is also a seating area if you just wish to relax and watch the sunset over the harbour and pool tables and air hockey for thoses who don't like mini golf.

Absolutely lovely! Best thing we did on our holiday. Great price (€7.50 with a second free game). Lots of variety with the holes - very creative and colourful. Lovely bar although we didn't get anything to drink. Tables along the way with clipboard to note down scores plus benches. Overall a lovely atmosphere and the owner was very friendly.😊 Plus loved the score of the day board especially as we beat it!!

We're here in Sissi until the 28th June 25. We absolutely love this little place! Family ran, great banter and go that extra mile to make you comfortable. The beer is great and we've already laughed all day with the best staff. The golf is fun too, great for all the family, get yourself along and beat the daily high score, or sit and enjoy a beer, pool or air hockey. Best spot for Sunset as well.

Restaurant
Nestled in a charming rustic courtyard, Liofito Taverna Sissi offers an enchanting dining experience surrounded by olive trees. Guests can indulge in generous portions of traditional Greek dishes like rabbit cooked with wine, thyme, and mustard, as well as the beloved kleftiko. The menu also features hearty options such as stifado—a rich beef stew—and comforting moussaka layered with eggplant and ground meat.
Great place and must visit! The stifado, a hearty Greek beef stew, was rich and flavorful. The moussaka, a classic layered dish with eggplant and ground meat, was comforting and well-prepared. Both dishes were enjoyed in a serene garden under olive trees, creating a relaxing and authentic Cretan dining experience. Starters: delicious aubergine with lamb and vine leaves, amazing appetizer from the restaurant: beetroot salad as well as dessert: bunch of super sweet grapes and watermelon! If we are back in Sissi, we will be back here.
Magda A — Google review
The stifado and moussaka were delightful in our tranquil Cretan village setting. The complimentary bread and beetroot starter were a pleasant surprise, and the white grapes were the best we've ever tasted. We were particularly impressed by the generous portion of moussaka. The entire experience, nestled in a garden under olive trees, was incredibly relaxing. If we ever return to Sissi, we'll definitely be back to this charming spot.

We had an amazing meze dinner on the first night of our vacation at Fisherman's Place. The girls enjoyed shrimp and mussels while we indulged in a variety of dishes like stuffed vine leaves, tzatziki, fried eggplant, dakos, and Greek salad. Our son loved his gyros. We sat with a fantastic sea view where we could see Hersonissos Port beautifully illuminated in the distance. The meal ended with some Raki to complete the experience.
Nice menu with grill meat and seafood. Prices are similar, like in all taverns in Sisi. Nice to have dinner with sunset view

The salmon I ordered was good, but the day after I had a stomach ache.. The mixed grill was terrible.. the meat tasted weird and the hamburger wasn't even cooked. Wasn't mentioned before that we couldn't pay by card because apparently the pin machine wasn't working. Do not recommend.
Ella S — Google review
Pleasantly surprised! We were a bit hesitant coming here after seeing some of the reviews and it clearly being a touristic spot but it turned out to be great. Moussaka was clearly homemade and really tasty! We also had some fried courgette which was served with some tzatziki. The fries were the best we’ve had in Crete which says a lot since you basically get them everywhere. Sure, service could be a bit more cheery, but we were lucky to come on a calm evening so we got all the attention we needed. Beautiful views! Wasn’t allowed to pay with card!!
Stella H — Google review
We have been quite disappointed about food. I took seafood saganaki, bf took squid. Food was average/ below average, especially that day before we ate the same in other places and couldn’t stop eating, because it was very good. This food was lacking taste, cheese on saganaki tasted quite cheep a-la low quality cheddar. Clams in the dish were absent, found only shells of them. Home wine though was nice (white). Overall - Don’t recommend if you prefer higher quality food. Service - ok’ish. Man was trying. Paid altogether 39 eur. If was more - would be even more disappointed.
Rita S — Google review
Good food with amazing views. Had the ratatouille au four, a veggie platter. Great flavor. Our table also had a grilled fish, grilled octopus, beef stew, and shrimp saganaki. Beer was the coldest I’ve had in Greece, with frosted mugs.

Nestled in the charming seaside village of Sissi on the Greek island of Crete, Castello Village Resort offers a laid-back retreat with bright rooms and suites. Well firstly I will say dont believe all you read on these reviews, obviously some people are very hard to please. This hotel certainly is a 4 star, the rooms are perfect with all you need for your stay. Cleaned daily fresh towels and bedding. All the staff very welcoming and happy to help anyway possible, shout out to Andreass, Elvris, both made our holiday with entertainment and drinks factor. Location is ideal short walk in to Sisi port where there is also plenty of food places to visit. We had no issues getting sun beds, pool was perfect. I would visit here again in a heart beat absolutely brilliant thankyou to all at Costello village. Anyone considering a visit go for it.
Mark W — Google review
The castello village. Is beautiful. Clean and the rooms are to high standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Especially the entertainment staff and susie. Location brilliant. The only thing which wasn't up to standard was the food. We were there for two week. It wasn't never warm the plates cold. Even when they brought fresh trays out. It was cold. It was reported many times by different people. They was no improvement
Moira M — Google review
Attention, stay, reception, pool, meals… everything was great. People working at hotel have been kindly and they have tried to understand us in every situation that we have asked. If I come back to Crete, sure I will come back to stay on this hotel. Thanks for all your attention.
Carlos E — Google review
Next to the sea, we got a room pretty quicky even tho wasnt the check-in time yet. Staff friendly, good food. The water in the little pool was a little bit murky but Boufos beach ( such a pleasant surprise) is at 4 minutes by foot. Totally recommended!
Adrian C — Google review
It’s probably 3.5 for me but went for four stars. Room was adequate and cleaned most days with fresh towels and a/c. The food was very good. The staff all very friendly although clearly stretched with the pool bars not opening until 11am ish and not being allowed to drink your own water by the pool seemed unfair during hot temperatures. I enjoyed some water polo (could do with some actual goals rather than chairs) the pool was excellent. The entertainment was good on the evenings, particularly Andreas was a highlight who made everything really good fun especially when the internet dropped out regularly during karaoke nights. I would revisit this hotel and certainly Sissi, a beautiful place it is.
On S — Google review
Lovely hotel with very good food. Not the best place if you like silence. The swimming pool is great but quite busy. The rooms are basic with not much natural ventilation.
Moises M — Google review
Would i stay here again absolutely no ,the pictures on their website are not the hotel, breakfast buffet is ok at best ,the pool bars if you get served are OK,the music is dictated by the bar staff and way too loud ,the rooms are designed for borrowers, using suitcases for storage, views are good depending on the rooms you get ,entertainment 5 out of 7 is in the sister hotel across the road ,maralaina needs a course on customer service terrible attitude ,ervis you absolutely saved the day what a ambassador for the hotel,if you not too clever on your feet 2 major ramps to negotiate or numerous steps, not a 4 star hotel just over 3 at a push ,great facilities outside hotel but would never book again
Paul B — Google review
Absolute dishonest man at the reception. They over charge to give you the safe key. We also had no AC. It's absolutely a rip off for a well below average hotel. I'd never go back and I wouldn't recommend it at all.
