Beach
Avlaki Beach is a stunning coastal spot located near Paralia Limani, offering clear blue waters, white sand, and encircling rocky formations. It's an ideal place for swimming, sunbathing, and unwinding. Situated in the tranquil village of Sissi, this beach is known for its calm atmosphere despite being a popular resort area in Crete.
A really nice beach to chill and walk around, sandy but windy so we didn’t decide to swim. Went around 6pm and were almost alone, so its quite secluded. The area around is nice to walk around 😊
Laura P — Google review
We were there in January and the beach was full of rubbish. A real shame for an actually nice little beach
Aileen A — Google review
Quiet. Reachable by car. Small. A bit messy and no services. But we like it.
Willem H — Google review
Beautiful Beach, take your Beach shoes if you go bathing
A. K — Google review
Really nice beach with white sand. The toilets are a bit far away but cool to see showers and changing booths nearby. Also there is a beach bar next to it. From the flip side it is hard to get there- you have to use a cab or walk in the heat to get there from hotels nearby. But it is worth if you do not want to visit the rocky beach.
Margus R — Google review
Poor quality, rocky beach and always choppy! However, if you climb up the rocks and walk around the headland, it brings you down on to a promenade, to Kalimera beach, which is by far the best (and only sandy) beach in the area and well worth the 20-30 minute, 2km walk from the other end of Sissi
Chuck F — Google review
Small and relatively private sandy beach but rocky as you enter the sea. The people that run the sunbeds (7€ for 2 beds and parasol), very kind and friendly and pass out fruit and water for free. Also offer free use of sea shoes, flippers, lilo's etc
Nick D — Google review
Very secluded, you can park at 30m from the actual beach. Beachbeds are on the expensive side, but you get a bottle of cooled water with them. Not very childfriendly. Big dropoff after 10meters, large rocks/pebbles.

Restaurant
Neromilos is a charming taverna nestled amidst olive groves. It offers authentic Greek cuisine that never fails to impress. The courtyard serves as the heart of the establishment, hosting lively performances of traditional music and dance. The restaurant is managed by a couple who always go above and beyond to provide excellent service. They frequently treat their patrons with complimentary appetizers, desserts, and glasses of raki, ensuring that customers feel more like friends than mere customers.
My husband and I had an unforgettable dining experience at Nerolimos on Friday's night, though we missed taking a photo of the incredible goat dish. Our meal featured a bit of everything: red wine, succulent stifado, tender goat, creamy tzatziki, crispy fries, rich cheese, and more. Each bite was bursting with sensational, authentic flavors. The complimentary traditional appetizer and dessert, paired with a house vodka, were delightful touches. The red wine we enjoyed was perfectly chosen, adding to the richness of the meal. Nerolimos is undoubtedly one of the top authentic and affordable restaurants in Sissi. The super friendly hosts made us feel like family, even giving us warm hugs as we said our goodbyes—it was our last dinner in Crete and Sissi, and we only wish we had discovered this gem sooner! A small tip: there are limited seats available each night, so make sure to book in advance!
Magda A — Google review
Beautiful family run restaurant a short walk from the coast. Wonderful setting underneath lime trees and low lighting. Amazing service from friendly staff, and the food is wonderful and home cooked.
Steven P — Google review
You must visit here if you're staying near Sisi. Nikki and the team were so lovely and made sure we were welcome. We dined here several times and each time had some wonderful homemade food. Nikki also suggested places to visit around Crete to us and made sure we had a fantastic meal each night. The Chicken Curry is amazing, as is the Sea Bass. We'll be coming back here again.
John H — Google review
Owner is extremely friendly and food is tasty, even thought price is higher here compared to other local restaurants. The atmosphere of this place is amazing and definitely worth visiting.
Michaela — Google review
Food, service, atmosphere are all fantastic, couldn’t fault any of it! We went for our anniversary and we’re given these beautiful Little Rocks. The host was a fabulous Lady, her passion for her restaurant and her food what above and beyond!
Meg J — Google review
A beautiful place! We decided to try here after getting a recommendation from a couple that was staying in our hotel. We booked a table as we were told it gets really busy and we’re glad we did! The host is so lovely she can’t do enough for you. The food is all freshly made and is authentic greek. We had the baked Feta with Honey and Saganaki for starters and both chose the Stifado as main all of which were fantastic! If you’re staying in Sissi make sure you visit here at least once you won’t regret it!
Amy M — Google review
When in Sissi, make sure you visit this taverna at least once! We keep coming back and it always feels like coming home! Authentic, fantastic and awesome - this counts for the staff, the food and the whole place itself.
Brigitte W — Google review
Unfortunately not as good as the reviews suggested. The terrace is nice and the service is very friendly. The owner clearly knows how to charm customers. Prices are normal and they have a good selection of food. We got something to try as an appetizer that was a tasty stew. Unfortunately the rest of the dishes were a bit underwhelming. The mixed grill was normal but the side salad was a bit weird with the cabbage. We also ordered a cucumber salad that didnt have much seasoning. Also the moussaka was not flavoured. You could taste a bit of the cinnamon but beside that not enough salt and pepper on potatoes and bechamel. Unfortunately once it was cooked it was also hard to fix the seasoning with the salt and pepper at the table as the ingredients don’t soak in the flavour anymore. Consistency and presentation was alright.

Greek restaurant
Taverna Amelia in Sisi offers a delightful dining experience, making it a must-visit for those in Crete. Renowned for its exceptional cuisine, the restaurant serves delectable dishes such as souszakake and Kleftiko. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable evening. Guests are treated to complimentary meze of bread and sauces upon arrival, followed by a mouthwatering homemade ice cream with cake at the end of their meal.
10 out of 10 experience at Amelia’s, would recommend!! We went for lunch & dinner and had great service and food each time. The staff was so friendly, we had my friend’s little baby with us and they were so accommodating! The food was served quickly, and was some of the most flavourful & fresh food I’ve had in a long time. While waiting we enjoyed our delicious fresh orange juice & had some bread and dips on the house. Make sure to book your table in time, especially on Thursday’s when they have a Greek themed evening with live music.
Megan — Google review
We had really good time at this restaurant today, everything was sooo delicious and everyone was so kind and friendly. If you come here, you will definitely leave full and happy. You also get different breads with appetizers before the meal, and then raki and dessert are offered by the house after the meal. Thank you for everything, we will definitely come here again! :)

Phenomenal place! Food was amazing! Atmosphere and decor was fab! Staff were brilliant! Could not recommend enough. But book a table as it was busy! 10 out of 10!

Restaurant Review: A Delicious Find in Sissi, Crete If you're in Sissi and craving authentic Cretan food with generous portions, this local gem is a must-visit. The setting is cozy and welcoming, with a rustic charm that adds to the experience. The food is the real highlight—flavorful, hearty, and made with fresh local ingredients, and the portions are more than generous. You definitely won’t leave hungry! Service can be a bit chaotic when the place gets busy, with some delays, but the staff are friendly and do their best to keep up. Overall, it’s great value for money, and the quality of the food more than makes up for any small service hiccups. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
Irek K — Google review
Beautiful hidden gem on the beautiful island of Crete. Loved everythibg about this restaurant, from the beautiful setting and decor, the fresh and delicious food all the way to the nice and very helpful staff, an amazing experience all around! The portions were very egenrouss and I recommend the lamb, the grilled octopus, fried calamari and especially the spicy tzatziki sauce (off menue, you have to ask for it)! They also offered us a delicious orange cake at the end which on its own, is worth trying this amazing place!
Sabrina B — Google review
Lovely restaurant and beautiful aesthetic the food was amazing. The staff were so welcoming and kind, great value for money. We visited twice whilst staying in Sisi we will be back very soon!!

Lovely restaurant just off the main harbour in Sisi. Family run and we got there about 745 without a reservation. Very busy. Lots of staff on which was good. Delicious food and complimentary bread starter and ice cream desert. The kelfitco and moussaka were delicious. Good atmosphere and lovely turquoise decor ! Thank you
Louise N — Google review
This was my personal highlight of our family holiday to Sissi in Crete. This place is amazing, especially on the traditional Greek night. The staff are super friendly, the atmosphere is awesome, the food is great. It was so busy. I mean wall-to-wall busy. This is the only reason that the service is 4 stars and not 5. And because it was so busy, the staff were rushing around everywhere, getting caught up in the activities and having fun along with the patrons, but we ordered drinks several times that didn't arrive to the table yet when the bill came, we had still been charged for. A quick word with the waiting staff though and it was quickly sorted. Genuinely, a great place.

The Jolly Roger is a lively bar located right on the seafront in Sissi. It offers a variety of themed nights including pub quizzes and pirate nights, as well as live music for entertainment. The staff are known for being friendly and accommodating, and the drinks are reasonably priced. The bar itself is designed with a pirate ship theme, creating a fun and unique atmosphere.
Love the pirate ship set up and decor, great fun! Didn't eat here so can't comment but the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Live music act was great, he had the party going for sure. I'll definitely be back here
Juliette M — Google review
Lovely English run pub. We went on a Thursday were there was a gentleman playing the guitar. The drinks were a reasonable price. The only downside is that it was quiet far away from anything else, such as parking.
Rachel — Google review
We love this place! From here you can watch the sun set over the sea. The ambience is of course a matter of taste, but I love the Caribbean/pirate style. The service is so good and very nice, the frequent live music is brilliant and the cocktails are simply divine! If you're near Sissi, a visit is a must!
Timo S — Google review
Beautiful bar on three levels with view to the beach. Nice staff and great quality of drinks and beers. We are definitely coming back another day to listen the live rock music :) The People here have a good sense of humor as well - we like that!
Lex F — Google review
This is an off the beaten track venue. Right on the rocky beach, but 500 metres from all the other bars. Great cocktails and live entertainment EVERY night. Well worth a visit 😎
Paul H — Google review
Amazing bar in a great location with lots of character. The staff are all really nice and the local band, who play there most nights, are absolutely brilliant. Well worth a few visits if you're in the area.

Probably the cheapest drinks in Sisi. Great for the football and rugby. Very welcoming and the live music was top class. Drinks only bar with no food.
Anthony S — Google review
Great place, right on the sea front in sissi, owners are great and can't do enough for you, Guinness is freezing cold, good G&T too, Husband loved that he could watch the rugby here first day we arrived. There's a reason it's got such good reviews.

Restaurant
Remezzo is known for its classification as a seafood restaurant, but the menu offers much more than just fish. Alongside prawn cocktails, sea bass, and calamari, you can also find pasta dishes, pizza, and vegetarian stuffed peppers. The terrace provides a beautiful view of the small harbor while enjoying these diverse options. Customers have praised the outstanding service and breathtaking sunsets. Even younger guests are catered to with delicious pizza offerings.
The atmosphere and location of Remezzos is really lovely, right over the little port in sisi - a perfect spot to eat dinner and enjoy the sunset. The food was flavourful and well prepared; they had issues with the card machine but the owner was really friendly (& trusting!!) so we went back the next day to pay, not a problem at all - all in all a really wonderful experience.
Hannah D — Google review
My husband and I were seated before we could even look at the menu at the entrance. We had a sticky menu, and when the food came, the mussels were clearly frozen beforehand but not indicated on the menu. The bread and tzatziki were pretty good, but we didn't feel good eating the rest because it was so bad that we were already hoping not to get food poisoning. The table behind my husband also sent most of their food back because, from what I overheard, it was just bad.
Nikitatjuh — Google review
We ate here twice, lunch and then dinner. Both times the food was very delicious and fresh. The prices are very reasonable especially for the excellent food. The location is idyllic, a cool breeze during the hot day, a fabulous sunset for dinner.
Reuben E — Google review
This place has a lovely view over the sea front and great location for the sunset. It was empty when we went which is such a shame as the staff are very friendly and helpful and the menu choice is good. We chose a few different starters and then shared a pizza. All the food was good and I would recommed.
Vicki B — Google review
Totally underrated place. The owner and service were very friendly and attentive. The food exceeded my expectation. Its traditional greek but with a little twist. I had the beef souvlaki and it came with a interesting little mayo. The meat was very juicy and had a great grilled flavour. Vegetables and potatoes were a great addition and I liked that it was something else than just fries on the side. The plates looked very pretty. The spicy cheese dip had a nice kick and was a very tasty extra to the dishes. Probably the best place in Sisi. Would 10/10 recommend this place. Plus the view around sunset was amazing.
Elisa M — Google review
Beautiful restaurant with the best pasta I’ve ever had and can’t beat the view. Was more expensive than other restaurants I’ve been to but is absolutely worth the money, and the water was free as well as I free dessert. Would absolutely recommend!
Lucy J — Google review
Booked a table via their Facebook page, response within 15 minutes to confirm booking. Great place to watch the sunset by the bay. I had the pizza which was really good and husband had the meatballs which were so light and delicious. Very good service.

Ormos Cafe, a trendy bar by the sea, takes cocktail hour to another level with its sophisticated selection of fruity beverages and decadent desserts. This stylish establishment specializes in glitzy drinks and treats, offering patrons the opportunity to enjoy a sandwich or crepes while lounging under charming thatched umbrellas, all while taking in the picturesque harbor view.
Excellent food, very friendly & attentive staff/service. The location is perfect for a romantic & cozy evening with sunset. The music is totally coolッ 100% satisfied, a really cool place!

We loved this bar/restaurant for drinks and food. It was really good, although we only had pizza, garlic bread and fries it was real good value...... the food, the drinks, the view. The view is astonishing what a lovely tranquil atmosphere. The staff are also unbelievably pleasant especially Erisa she is so polite and welcoming. Would strongly recommend a visit here.

Great place with a beachfront view, perfect for sunset time, everything we tasted was just delicious, service and people were great, we returned there a couple of times and will get back in the future. Prices are fair, Highly reccommended!!

Went here a few times for lunch. The service is great everyone very friendly. The wraps were lovely and the chicken gyros. Also have to recommend the chocolate and strawberry waffles. Top tip add a scoop of Oreo ice-cream. So good! Lovely location looking over the sea. Great view of the sunset.
Vicki B — Google review
Food is good but not special, prices were good. The waiters are not very attentive, they didn't smile once. Also took a long time until they collected the plates. Definitely not your typical Greek restaurant.
Ella S — Google review
The food was amazing, with plenty of vegetarian options, and freshly made. Great drinks menu and lovely views of the sea inlet and little port. Would definitely recommend
Kirsty H — Google review
Staff very attentive, great food. I had my last meal here, sea bass, presented whole. It was flame grilled and incredibly tasty. We dined here twice.
Shaun K — Google review
4.9.2025, two Arabic speaking families consisting of 2 young couples and two toddlers asked the bartender (I think he is also the owner) to set for drinks in the terrace, he refused in a rude way stating the terrace only for ordering food while 5 of 8 tables had only drinks on the tables. Even the waitress was embarrassed by the bartender behaviour. We ended up eating and drinking in the adjacent restaurant called Kyma, which was amazing

The Pink Flamingo restaurant in Sissi offers a wide range of delectable dishes that blend traditional Greek cuisine with familiar favorites like pizza and burgers. The menu includes gyros, mezze platters, and other Greek eats, ensuring there is something for everyone. Despite the emphasis on freshness, which may lead to slightly longer waiting times, the food at Pink Flamingo is well worth it.
This place by far exceeded my expectations!! The staff were absolutely lovely, at the end of the meal gave us some places on the island to go visit. The food we ordered was divine and the cocktails were very well presented as well as absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back, 10/10 recommend!

An absolutely fantastic restaurant. You simply cannot visit the beautiful town on Sissi without experiencing the hospitality, the amazing food and delightful staff at the Pink Flamingo. From stepping into the restaurant to leaving, you are treated with the best attentive service from Nikolaus. The food is first rate and we tried many things on the menu. For 15 euros for a Meze Plate, I can highly recommend this to share. The moussaka is Devine and the Gyros are the tastiest we had. There is a small playground for the kids and both indoor and outdoor seating. Also, make sure you try the Sangria. Sit with a gyros and a small jug of the sangria and enjoy the sea view. Perfection.

Nestled in a charming rustic courtyard, Liofito Taverna Sissi offers an enchanting dining experience surrounded by olive trees. Guests can indulge in generous portions of traditional Greek dishes like rabbit cooked with wine, thyme, and mustard, as well as the beloved kleftiko. The menu also features hearty options such as stifado—a rich beef stew—and comforting moussaka layered with eggplant and ground meat.
Great place and must visit! The stifado, a hearty Greek beef stew, was rich and flavorful. The moussaka, a classic layered dish with eggplant and ground meat, was comforting and well-prepared. Both dishes were enjoyed in a serene garden under olive trees, creating a relaxing and authentic Cretan dining experience. Starters: delicious aubergine with lamb and vine leaves, amazing appetizer from the restaurant: beetroot salad as well as dessert: bunch of super sweet grapes and watermelon! If we are back in Sissi, we will be back here.

The stifado and moussaka were delightful in our tranquil Cretan village setting. The complimentary bread and beetroot starter were a pleasant surprise, and the white grapes were the best we've ever tasted. We were particularly impressed by the generous portion of moussaka. The entire experience, nestled in a garden under olive trees, was incredibly relaxing. If we ever return to Sissi, we'll definitely be back to this charming spot.

Sissi Mini Golf is a popular attraction in Sissi, Crete, offering a surprisingly challenging 18-hole course in a fantastic location. Visitors can expect great fun and a warm welcome at this mini golf spot. It's one of the top things to do in Sissi, Greece, alongside other attractions like Sunset Bar and Boufos Beach.
The mini golf is a family run business that’s been there I believe 20+ years. It has a cute bar attached and is the perfect stop off for an afternoon game and evening drink. The course is really well put together, very colourful and really fun! The brothers who were running the bar the night we went were super fun and inviting too.

There is also a seating area if you just wish to relax and watch the sunset over the harbour and pool tables and air hockey for thoses who don't like mini golf.

(Translated by Google) Goodnight Greece they should have said it!!! Frappe with 1 lt water 7.5€!!! Of course, be careful where you got it!!! But the big surprise came when I was about to pay by card and the employee tells me that they haven't had a POS for a week!!!! Here I say this is illegal!!! We tell them so says the employee!!! This is called complicity dear!! He suggests you a solution of course to go to the ATM that is at the Reception (4.95€ withdrawal fee!!) which to find you have to walk through a maze! P.S.1. For example, with 1,500 beds, what kind of turnover (black) does the 5-star hotel make at this time of year! P.S.2. No receipt was given for the cash payment!!! P.S.3. The "umbrella" right next to the beach is value for money with a normal POS and receipt!!! Good night gentlemen there in Kalimera Crete!!!! Υ.Γ3. Really attentive and thorough when my 1 year old daughter was unwell. A big park of Sisi as a holiday location to know this is here and easily accessible if in need of a doctor!
Sam T — Google review
Went here to seek some advice from the doctor about some medicine I had purchased for my 10 month old. He was very unhelpful, gave me incorrect guidance (I found this out after) and demanded I pay him 10 Euros for him giving me his false information. Avoid at all costs. The man is not professional at all and only cares about money.

Extremely rude staff. Treat tourists with attitude and I’d never go there or send anyone I care about to this center. Great people the way you want to be treated yourself!

During my recent visit to the charming Sissi Market, I was captivated by its delightful atmosphere and the warm hospitality of Zacharias, the owner. This beautifully decorated shop is a treasure trove filled with an array of goods and souvenirs that truly represent Cretan culture. From fragrant olive oils and aromatic spices to adorable little soaps and handcrafted toys, there's something for everyone. The market also features unique jewelry and wooden tools crafted by Zacharias himself, showcasing local artistry at its finest.
Today we went to the Sissi Market to buy a Swimming Ring. Zacharias the owner of the shop was so kind to fill it up with air for us. His Shop is beautiful decorated and is filled with all goods and souvenirs you could imagine. Little Soaps, Olive oils, Spices, Toys, little figurines like tortoise we fall in love with this shop and will come back soon and fill our Suitcases to bring the goods back home.

The accommodation stood out for its cleanliness – everything was in perfect condition, neat and fresh. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. We were particularly impressed by the swimming pool, which is operated with salt – a much more natural and pleasant experience, without the inconvenience of chlorine. It is the ideal place to relax. We highly recommend it to those looking for quality, tranquility and hospitality!

A really beautiful beach. At the time we arived there, around 6 pm, it was really empty but we manage to meet a lovely girl, named miss Foxy who literally played with us for a few hours...aparently she likes to run from home and come to the beach and play catch with everybody🤗❤️

Great coved beach. Albeit stony and sandy. Definitely take water shoes. 10euros for 2 sunbeds and brolly. And a short walk up to a snack bar. But a donut man and a fruit van come buy once or twice a day. Pay in cash.

Nice area but shingle amongst the sand, and large sharp rocks in water. Water warm.
Adrian H — Google review
Nice pebbled beach, not so easy to get in, not really suitable children as the waves can be big, there's nowhere on the beach to buy food or drink, there is a building but it was never open on the 2 occasions we visited.
James — Google review
Lovely small little beach that is accessible from the road and a small footpath. There's a lot of waves because it's a bay so if you're into that, this is the place to be.

Great experience. The place is very nice. The view is stunning from both sites. . . sea and mountain. The infrastructure is a bit complicated but that's not a problem cause you have a nice stuff who helps you very much. Very quiet place with kind tourist (mostly are from Germany). It have his own gym for people who like staying active at the vacation. Overall it's a great place to stay with your family or with friends.

(Translated by Google) Great sandy beach. By car you can park in the parking lot in front of the resort and walk along a gravel path to the beach on the eastern side. It has a lot of space and you can use the showers (and the pool) at the resort without being noticed. Unfortunately there is a lot of plastic waste lying around on the beach, which I find quite a shame. (Original) Toller Sandstrand.
