Italian restaurant
Pies & Pints in Fayetteville, WV is a popular pizzeria chain known for its unconventional craft pizzas and wide selection of craft beers. The menu features specialty pizzas like the Chicken Gouda and Grape & Gorgonzola, as well as classic options such as pepperoni and sausage. Additionally, the restaurant offers a variety of salads and sandwiches, including the famous pimento cheese fries. The establishment has expanded to multiple locations across several states since its founding in Fayetteville.
We had a good meal here after going rafting on the recommendation of our guide. It is a bit deceptive with the parking lot and entrance, but it is bigger and busier than it looks. The pizza was great with many things we wanted to try. The ability to split a pizza into halves that both tasted great with an exorbitant cost was a great way to try more. We tried mushroom and street corn. They had a decent bar and nice atmosphere. We would definitely eat here again.
Paul B — Google review
Amazing pizza place. Lots of interesting different types of pizzas to choose from. If you order a large, then you can do a half and half pizza. The place has a tavern like atmosphere. The parking lot was around back. Our server was great. We were told by others that the wait times were long. We went on a tuesday night and didn't experience any of that. I would eat here again if I was in the area.

If you are looking for a great restaurant in Fayetteville, getting a pizza at Pies & Pints is a MUST! They have a great selection of pizza, salads, and other food, and the pizza is some of the best I've ever tasted! I personally recommend the Pine & Swine, the Chicken Gouda, or my absolute favorite, the Italian! They also have a good beer selection, both local and national brands. Whether you are in WV for hiking, rafting, or simply sightseeing, Pies & Pints is a great place to go to fuel up after a day of exercise. It is also family friendly!

We visited after a little league football game on a whim, got sat immediately with no wait time. The staff were all super friendly, our experience was great! The food was wonderful, both of my kids got pizza bread off the kids menu and loved it! Their white pizza was to die for. Would definitely eat here again whenever we're in the area.

Traveled from Buckhannon - we initially planned on going to the Secret sandwich society - but they turned us away at 8pm - we ended up coming here & honestly, I'm so glad. The service was phenomenal. the food was amazing. The atmosphere? Great. There was a pool table and arcade games in the waiting room if there was a wait. Those wings & that sauce? 100/10. Will go back.
Katie G — Google review
Travelled to WV recently for Bridge Day at New River Gorge National Park. Pies & Pints came recommended by our AirBNB host. Due to busier than normal crowds we had to wait an hour for service, but the food and service were exceptional. We tried several menu items including their famous grape and gorgonzola pizza, pizza skins and house salad. Everything was hot, freshly made and delicious. Would highly recommend if you’re in the Fayetteville WV area. Indoor and outdoor seating available including a covered outdoor waiting area with ample seating and a small enclosed outdoor play area for toddlers.
Shannon — Google review
Absolutely delicious, the pizza here has incredible flavor. Decent undercarriage, the garlic mushroom pizza was phenomenal, and the sauce on the steak pizza is my choice! Highly recommend the hot wings, they are flame broiled, make and are crappy and absolutely delicious! Would not hesitate to eat here or take it to go.
Patrick D — Google review
These pizzas were delicious!! I strongly recommend just ordering one of their specials off of the menus, as they are all good. Our group got half gluten free pies and half regular. The half that got gluten free wished they would have split a small one and gotten side salads. I ordered a gluten free sandwich in some kind of panini and it was amazing!!! 🥰 We are already trying to plan trips around where we can find another pies and pints!! 🙌🏼

Located in Fayetteville, the New River Antique Mall is a multi-dealer mall filled with a wide array of antiques and collectibles. Visitors can expect to find hidden gems and classics at fair prices. The friendly staff creates a wonderful atmosphere, making it an enjoyable experience for all. With its variety of items, including Pyrex, Fostoria, and trains, this antique mall offers something for everyone.
It is display after display of antiques. If you can find it here then it doesn’t exist. Each room is set up to display a certain kind of kind usually like comics or glassware while some are set up more like a room with various things. And I mean various. They have to have 10000 unique items or more. Collectors unite. Too much to name but as always the radios are my favorite. So you can see a cool collection of them here also. Staff were friendly and it was busy. Just pass the bank and you can’t miss it.

Awesome place and good prices and the guy up front he is really nice and loves to talk about coins
Crystal C — Google review
The older gentlemen, who was working was very rude. Friend of mine was trying to use her debit card and he was not very nice about it not working. She told him just don’t worry about it. I was going to pay for both pieces with cash. And the had some words and he took both pieces of the counter. He would not let me pay for either one. That is not very good business for the people who have booths there.

The overall experience was good. Bunch of different stuff to see.

Store closes at 4pm. The guy that works there was unnecessarily rude, and I will not be returning . Sad as I'd travelled a long way on recommendation from a friend. Reading other reviews it sounds like it is this one man who is the problem.

Nice mall. Good selection of items and decent prices. Shame it's closing.

Wonderful atmosphere, a lot of hidden gems. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I purchased a old pitcher and bowl stand for my wife. Reasonably priced. They was helpful to safely load it for the long trip home as well. 😄

Visitors have enjoyed the challenging yet enjoyable puzzles and the helpful hints provided at just the right moments.
So much fun!... And surprisingly spooky. My partner took me here for my birthday. Neither one of us have ever been to an escape room, so we had no idea what to expect. The guide was amazing, gave us clues when we needed them. We will be coming back to try the other two rooms!
Love A — Google review
This was my first eacape room (The Bunker) and this wasn't anything I had expected (it was way better)! This was really cool and unique! Everyone was friendly and the escape room was well laid out. It was really fun and would recommend to anyone to stop in and try it out! Will definitely want to come back and try other escape rooms. :)
Jason S — Google review
I've completed Escape Rooms all across the country and this has been by far one of the best places I've been to. We did the "Scare BnB" and it was so interactive. Highly recommend for people from beginners to experts. We did the room with two people. Definitely want to complete the other rooms they have.
Garett P — Google review
Our group had a great time playing Secret Bunker and ScareBNB. Rowan and Tim were such friendly and helpful clue masters. We’d never have guessed it was Tim’s first day on the job! My favorite part was actually the awesome wall of oddities in the lobby. You can tell a quirky, wholesome bunch puts love and care into every detail of this place.
Veronica C — Google review
This was so much fun! My hubs and I have never done an escape room before, and this was a great experience to get us started. We did the Scare BnB one, which did have some awesome jump scares. Great room set up! The staff there are very passionate about their work. Definitely enjoyed! We managed to solve it, but I would say a small caveat is that the workers jumped in a lot to give clues without us asking. Sometimes we were on the way to the next clue, but they'd give us the answer. I didn't quite like that because, honestly, if they hadn't jumped in that much, we wouldn't have solved it, and we're okay with that. I felt rushed. I get there's a time limit, but still. We go in aware that we might not solve the puzzle, and that's okay. That was part of the fun, but the frequent interruptions kept throwing me off my thought process. Still, definitely recommend it if you've never done one or enjoy escape rooms. We'll be finding some around our next of the woods after experiencing this one@
D. T — Google review
This escape room was awesome! First time going. We had 6 of us and we did the scare b and b! The guide was super awesome! The room had a couple scares in it! It was so fun! Highly recommend they do a great job putting the rooms together! We made it out with 4 mins and 49 seconds to go i believe it was!
Lesley J — Google review
My husband and I had so much fun escaping the ScareBNB! We have done many escape rooms in the past and this was one of our favorites! We really enjoyed the multiple rooms and thoughtful puzzles.

Range Finder Coffee

Coffee shop
Range Finder Coffee is a charming coffee shop located inside Water Stone Outdoors, offering a variety of unique and delicious coffee drinks. The shop maintains a photography aesthetic with camera decor and photographs adorning the space, creating a cozy atmosphere to relax or get some work done. The owner/operator, Craig, is known for his expertise in pulling excellent shots of espresso using high-quality beans. Visitors can enjoy the friendly service and delicious coffee while taking in the hip-hop tunes in this cute little shop in Fayetteville.
Love this cozy little coffee shop! I had been hiking about in New River Gorge National Park for a few days and was in desperate need of caffeine, a warm beverage, and a cozy spot to sit and relax for a bit. Range Finder Coffee was just the spot -- it's a cozy enclave filled with plenty of natural light, great ambient music, and super friendly people (both customers and staff). I had a great conversation with the barista about my hikes and their recommendations on other areas to visit around West Virginia and swapped stories with several other hikers (some of whom also had their dogs!!). The coffee was fantastic -- super rich and aromatic, and everything I needed after trekking out in the woods for the last few days. The barista also recommended their pumpkin chocolate chip muffin, which was absolutely divine. It was packed with pumpkin and spices, so each cinnamon-y, nutmeg-y, ginger-y bite felt like I was taking a bite of fall. It was also loaded with chocolate chips -- the muffin was probably about half muffin and half chocolate, which was delightful. The muffin itself wasn't super sweet, so it helped to balance out the chocolate, and the combination was a perfect pairing with my latte.
Sonya H — Google review
Incredibly cool coffee shop in the Coolest Small Town in America. Coffee choices were comprehensive and deliciously made. Cinnamon Honey latte was very sweet, chai tea latte was not sweet at all, just how I like them. Atmosphere was very relaxed on a sunny Friday morning. Front of the shop is all big glass windows, so lots of gorgeous light. Muffins are excellent, as mentioned elsewhere. Make sure you give this place a try when you're near NRGNP.
Dave B — Google review
This is the kind of coffee shop I dream about finding when I travel. Small yet comfortable with lots of natural lighting. A warm sense of community. Oh, and absolutely BANGER coffee. As someone who works in specialty coffee, it’s clear this shop is run by a coffee snob (positive) who cares about the details. A gem!! Perfect end to a fun trip in WV.
Courtney W — Google review
Best coffee in town. Even blows my local coffee options out of the water. I couldn't say enough about Rangefinder. Give it a shot... Get a shot. Coffee. You get it.
Nickk I — Google review
Amazing business. Recently I was trying to provide a sizeable amount of coffee to a group of people as an appreciation day. I had arranged it initially with a larger chain store, very commercialized, very popular for their multiple options of pastries, coffees, lattes, pink drinks and such. Even though I had confirmed the order more than once, the day it should have been available, it was not. In a pinch, I reach out to Range Finder to see if they could accommodate our needs. These guys didn’t only raise to the occasion, they SPARKLED! They prepared everything requested for a super reasonable price and when I say their product was amazing! I mean 10/10 recommend! I don’t personally drink coffee but it smelled AMAZING, and the partakers of their craft said it was wonderful! Needless to say our local companies probably don’t always get the recognition they deserve or the opportunity to serve larger events, but this gang exceeded my expectations. They will be my people for any event, present and future, that I have a hand in organizing! They apparently also have mobile options that I’m looking very forward to trying in the near future! Lastly- not only did they rise to the challenge and exceed expectations, but they did it all with a smile on their faces, amazing customer service, and even the owner took time out of his vacation to make sure it worked out. I’m only sad that I can’t give them a higher star rating.
Kimberly B — Google review
Straight Outta Caffeine! This place rocks. I love a spot where you can tell the purveyors are equally passionate and knowledgeable about the product they're pushin. Great to have options for some legit single origin pour over options and some really well done fu-fu espresso drinks that are more mainstream. Will definitely be back!
J C — Google review
When I travel, this is what I have in mind for a morning coffee. Customers sipping steaming lattes, talking about climbing and their jobs, a dog curled up her owner's feet. The barista (owner?/staff?) divulges the secret to a great maple latte than encourages me to take a bottle of the same maple from a shelf. As I inhale the flavors of my morning jolt, I take in the organized creative chaos that makes this space hum. My commitment to returning tomorrow morning is heartfelt...
James A — Google review
Having been to the other coffee shop right down the street earlier in the day, I expected Range Finder to be somewhat similar and I was pleasant surprised to be quite wrong. Both are great in their own way, but this is definitely more my speed. The other shop (feels weird to say their name in a review for another place) was a nice breakfast spot with coffee close to what you’d expect at a cafe, but this was much more of a speciality coffee experience. Super cool vibe, nice and intimate location and size, and the coffee was great. I was confident I made the right call when I walked in and saw a Hario Switch and an AeroPress on the wall. Highly recommend, especially if you have relatively high coffee standards!

Sucha cool vintage store (not to be confused with an antique store). Did they have a wind up musical figurine that play The Impossible Dream from Man From La Mancha? Yes they did. Lots of great things and you never know what they will have.

Found a few cool items. It's not junk like a few places we've been to. Things are in good condition. Lady behind the counter was friendly, kind, and helpful. I tried on some clothes and was kind enough to block people from going to my area since there wasn't any dressing rooms. It made my heart happy. Also, they play good music. Would highly recommend.

Theaters
Located in the historic district of Fayetteville, Historic Fayette Theater has been a prominent cultural hub since its opening in 1938. Originally a movie theater and performing arts venue, it underwent renovations in 2011 to become the vibrant establishment it is today. The theater hosts a diverse array of performances throughout the year and is operated by dedicated volunteers who have a deep passion for the arts.
I recently attended an Appalachian music show at the historic Fayetteville Theater, and it was an experience to remember! The originality of the music was unique and special and captured the true spirit and soul of our beloved Appalachia. The performers were incredibly talented and poured their hearts into every song and scene. The theater itself is cozy and inviting and makes you feel right at home the moment you step inside. You can sense the rich history in every corner, and it adds a unique charm to the entire experience. It's clear from the moment you’re here that this venue has been a cherished part of the community for generations. If you're looking for an evening filled with exceptional talent, heartfelt music, and a touch of proud heritage, I highly recommend catching a show at the Fayetteville Theater. You'll leave with a smile on your face and a song in your heart!

Such an amazing historic place in Fayetteville! I was impressed to find out that they are having a day camp this year in which they teach kids about theater and how to run one. My daughter is attending, and she is absolutely loving it. There are many local children involved and personally it's amazing to see. During Halloween there was a ghost tour in Fayetteville and they had some amazing stories about this place on one of their stops. The Historic Fayette Theater is a former movie house that was built in 1937. It is one of the few Depression era theaters still operational in southern WV. Visitors can view the original movie projectors, which remained in use until the 1960s. The Fayette County Historical Society began renovations in 1992. Adorning the walls inside the theatre are many paintings and pieces of art that depict life and entertainment from the 1930s era. The theatre stages ten performances per year, along with special nights by request. The building is open for free tours on Fridays from late May until late October.

It's a neat old theater. I went to see a documentary movie about a local trail race. The seats were plenty comfy. The snacks were yummy and very reasonably priced, and the movie was very enjoyable.

I love this theater my aunt used to be a big part of it and she would take us there to see the Christmas play every year we came from Detroit to visit family. I have fond memories at this place and in this town and you would be remiss if you visited Fayetteville and didn't catch a show if there is one playing. I have made it a tradition with my girls who are 3 and 8 and they love the theater.

I highly recommend this shop to locals and tourists alike! No matter if you need a quick shower/anniversary gift or want something nice to take back home this is the place to stop. Everything was laid out really well, with the amazing variety of things they offer one would expect clutter and disjointed placing. This was not the case. It has a great flow and was a pleasure to browse around!!

Restaurant
Wanderlust Creativefoods, originally a curry house, has expanded its menu to include European and Latin American dishes. The restaurant is known for its beet-infused dishes and juicy lamb burger. Visitors have raved about the quality of the food, with many recommending trying almost everything on the menu. The atmosphere is welcoming, making it a great place to connect with locals while enjoying exceptional food. Dishes like prawns and hand-pressed coffee have been particularly praised by patrons for their amazing flavors.
Run to Wanderlust Creativefoods in Fayetteville. Best food I've had regionally in a long time. The Caesar is tossed in a delicious lemony dressing with a giant parmesean crisp on top. The Brussels were the perfect combo of crisp, sweet, and savory an the absolutely prefect lamb burger was loaded with goat cheese and pickled beets. Amazing food! Really wonderful people and vibe. This is a must try and my new favorite when in town.
Jay — Google review
This spot is such a hidden gem for fusion food! The place is pretty small and was packed when we got there—we waited about 30 minutes for a table, but honestly, no regrets. The gamba was super tasty—no frozen shrimp vibes at all, and the sauce was amazing. We were seriously impressed. The pork belly had a nice balance too, with flavors kind of like carrots and sweet potatoes. Only thing is, we thought it’d be a big slice, but it came dice chopped, so that was a little disappointing. The Brussels sprouts were also on point. As for the chicken masala, it’s a solid, reliable dish—simple but really good. Overall, we had a great meal and would definitely come back!
Rosie Y — Google review
Great food and service. You order at counter but they bring you everything. Friendly staff. Chef doing amazing things with locally sourced food (mainly). Loved the beets. Everything we had was delicious. Vegan/vegetarian just ask they will work with you. We will be back .
J G — Google review
I came here last night with several friends who were hyping the restaurant up. It’s rare when a restaurant fully exceeds the hype. Wanderlust does that. The vibe in the restaurant is incredible and surpassed only by the quality of the food and the staff working there. Everything we had at our table was incredible. From the wine to the food. The cauliflower tacos were outstanding as was the Penne. The chef clearly knows how to generate flavor and serve in generous portions. The staff were beyond friendly and kind. They struck you as the kind of people you want as friends and neighbors and brought that positive attitude to work with them. We had nine people in our group and everyone raved about their meals. I plan to come back here the next time I’m in town as this was just outstanding.
Todd R — Google review
We had the Penne Alla Vodka with added chicken , Chicken tikka masala, Pork Belly Entree, Naan dumplings and Gambas. Naan dumplings tasted nothing like an Indian dish but it was interesting. The Pasta was delicious and Pork belly was good. Gambas was good. The chicken tikka masala was decent. My only issue is that its a little pricey for the food. Service was decent. This is the best restaurant in at least a 50 mile radius of Fayetteville. It offers fine dining, a great wine selection, knowledgeable servers, casual atmosphere and reasonable prices. The owner/cheff has worked in high end restaurants in big cities, and brings this skill to the cuisine.

The main wanderlust got me to pay attention. Description of fusion food in West Virginia and the reviews are the reason why we came. And it did not disappoint. It’s a little awkward to have to place the order at the counter, but with only one person running all of the front end, I can see why. we ordered the muscles, which were over the top fantastic, the beet salad, which is something I will crave in the future, and the tikki masala was probably some of the best we’ve ever had. They offered good wine, the atmosphere was good a little bit smoky though from the kitchen and little hot on a hot day. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone

Prawns as a starter were amazing, sauce was on point. (This was our favorite and we fought over who got more sauce. ) She got hand pressed coffee, which she loved. Her brazed pork and my chicken Tikka were seasoned perfectly. Everyone was nice and courteous, what a gem.

Southside Junction Tap House is a popular spot in downtown Fayetteville, known for its rotating taps of local craft beer and delicious food offerings. The menu includes items like southwest egg rolls, gouda mac and cheese bites, burgers, brats, and various tacos. The tap house also hosts events such as live music nights, trivia, wing nights, and holiday parties.
We had an excellent experience at Southside Junction Tap House! Marcos, the bartender, was very accommodating by staying open late to let our crew watch our beloved Pacers in game 7 of the NBA finals. The service, food and atmosphere were awesome! Would highly recommend this place!

After days of WV’s best welcome, we came into a near-empty bar and felt unwelcome. Beers were okay. Menu had some bargains but nothing that said, “You’ve come to the right place.”

i have been to many “order at the bar” locations up and down the east coast “Heavy Seas” right outside of Baltimore is a highlight of this genre of bars . this however is not , ordering at the bar is fine but if you are not actually sitting at the bar they will not give you your drinks without the food infront of you, i understand that i am not of the area and it could be a liquor license thing , i also understand maybe i walked away too fast to be handed the drinks the first time but when the bartender has to walk past us to go get ice from a location next store and does not say a word to us while we are still waiting is a little bit crazy. food is great , the venue is fantastic and highlights LGBTQ+ history in an amazing way while also looking towards its future. Maybe i had an off day and maybe the bar had an off day and we just collided wrong , either way i did not have a stellar time .i also think the beer selection is hit or miss , the offerings from free folk brewery are not my favorite but like i said i am not of the area and i do not know the local beer scene so maybe this is as good as it gets

Have visited the area many times but our first time here. You find a seat and order at the bar. Service was decent, not as friendly as most of the area places but maybe they were short staffed. The food was good. I would have liked if they breaded their own chicken fingers but they were decent. The highlight is their house made sauces. They are delicious. I could dip fries in the sauce all day! Oh and perfect sweet tea! Check them out if you are in town

The Pink Pig is a unique BBQ joint housed in a vintage gas station, where the friendly and knowledgeable staff make the experience even better. The on-site smoked BBQ, including brisket and pulled pork, is described as phenomenal. The homemade banana pudding and smoked chocolate chip cookie are highly recommended for dessert. Visitors also praise the welcoming owner and hospitable atmosphere. This local gem is perfect for a satisfying meal after exploring nearby attractions like New River Gorge National Park.
The Pink Pig is a heavenly treat! I tried a brisket and pulled pork. To say that the food was phenomenal would be an understatement! For dessert, make sure to try home-made banana pudding. I took a second, because it was so good! The owner was very welcoming and hospitable. The Pink Pig is the place to go!
Adam Z — Google review
The brisket sandwich was great for $8. The baked beans where nothing special and highly overpriced @2$ for a tiny container. The mack and cheese is spicy and tasty but very small for $2. The banana 🍌pudding is good but not traditional, whipped cream based. Lighter than southern pudding based. Overall worth the visit. Would have rated a 4 except the sides are overpriced for the size given.

The Pink Pig...cool vintage gas station converted to mouthwatering bbq joint. Bbq smoked on site in sight and young man taking orders was most knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone working was terrific! DJ Will also had the tunes going and we were all having fun while waiting for food to be prepped. Smoked chocolate chip cookie...dirty little secret, dirty little lies. You will never want another one except the Pink Pig's. Where have you been all my life? Baked and smoked right on the cooker that is fired with cherry and white oak. I decided to top off the cookies with a bbq sandwich...dear God, my sandwich runneth over, the meat spilleth out the sides. Thank goodness they gave me two different sauces because that was needed to cover the generous amount of meat. Looking to try the brisket mac and cheese burrito next. To quote MacArthur, "I shall return."

Highly recommend, BEST banana pudding I've ever had!! Was passing by from LA to go white water rafting and the guide recommended it. We had mac & cheese, ribs, brisket and pulled pork sandwich, beans, slaw and it was all so delicious! Everyone there was so friendly, plus the location is in a cool old gas station. Thanks for a great lunch!!

The Gaines Estate is a charming property in downtown Fayetteville, offering a range of venue options for weddings and events. The estate features the historic Gaines Estate house, a pavilion, a 10-acre lawn, and a 50-acre pasture field for indoor and outdoor gatherings. Visitors have praised the exceptional food and warm hospitality at this hidden gem.
We had our first dining experience last night at The Gaines Estate and it was wonderful! The atmosphere, service, and food were all amazing. Maggie was our server and she was so polite and attentive. Chef Greg made us the absolute best meal. He came out to check on us to make sure the food was cooked to perfection. We had a great time and will definitely be back soon. I highly recommend everyone to go and check it out. A+++

I just can't say enough good things about the Gaines Estate. The food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was very attentive and wanted to make sure everything about our Brunch was perfect. The restaurant/house is beautiful as well as the grounds. Our table in the sunroom gave us a great view of the beautiful setting. Very anxious to return and hope we get the same server, however all the servers seemed equally attentive .

Ally and her team truly made my daughter’s wedding a celebration to remember. I don’t say this lightly. As a wedding cake artist and always the hostess, planner, you name it… I rarely fully enjoy the moment. I’m constantly ON! I was actually able to relax and be present. She was ahead of me and on top of every next move. I let my hair down, laughed, caught up with family and friends , I savored the moment ! I can’t express my gratitude to Ally and her team. They were so kind and warm, always taking care of us. We enjoyed their full experience. Rehearsal dinner, wedding day with the works, and next morning brunch. This venue has everything you need to have a flawless event. I would choose the Gaines Estate over and over again! Sincerely, Candice Meade Posh Manna Cake Art

Huge disappointment. We wanted to have a nice dinner on our weekend trip and the Gaines estate appeared to be the place. We got a couple cocktails at the bar, not good. I’m not a sugar person but these were like plain diluted liquor. Staff is very friendly, but our server was unattentive. Appetizer sounded good but was not. Fried eggplant w ricotta, fig sauce, confit cherry tomatoes. The eggplant was crazy overbreaded. 3x as thick as the eggplant. Preparation not in line with dish flavors. The tomatoes and basil really throw it off. Salad was sad. A few small cucumber pieces, couple halved cherry tomatoes and greens. That’s it. And very small. No bread was served at all. Entree I ordered pork loin w pumpkin gnocchi. No seasoning whatsoever. Actually the most bland entree I’ve ever eaten. For real. Gnocchi was wrinkled up dry, no flavor. And the butter that topped the dish was the same butter used to fry the loin I think because black bits were floating in the bottom of the dish. It wasn’t a sauce made from the butter or a seasoned brown butter. Had to ask for a salt shaker. Asparagus as a side was over charred and only 4 pieces. She ordered ribeye medium w bourbon sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. The sauce was watery thin and everything was sitting in it. The ribeye was blue. Not rare, blue. It was stringy when cutting because it wasn’t cooked. Our waitress said she would have corrected it but she didn’t come back around until we were finished. We won’t go back. Menu sounds good but isn’t. Should’ve just gone to the taco bar.
M J — Google review
No stars for food because they didn’t have food, but they did have custom cocktails which were delicious! The whole ambience was dark and spooky. The actors were so entertaining, each vignette was played by a different one. The same actors served the cocktails in between. It was a very different experience but we really enjoyed it!

Was here for the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy. Parking isn’t that great. The Speakeasy storytellers were amazing. The cocktails they served with each story were amazing! The bathrooms here are super clean and are maintained very well.

So my wife and I got tickets to go to the Edgar Allen Poe Speakeasy this weekend that was being held at The Gaines Estate in Fayetteville WV. Our show was at 8 PM and didn’t involve food only drinks and the show. We thought it would be a good idea to just eat at The Gaines Estate as it is a restaurant. We made reservations for 6:30 thinking this would be ample time since the show was there as well. We arrived at 6:30, we did not get seated until 6:50. Not a big problem, we still have an hour right, and the show is right there?!? When our waitress approached us we informed her that we had tickets to the show, so we were kinda in a hurry and we placed our order right then. No appetizer, just two dinners. A fillet and the pork with gnocchi which both came with a house salad and one side of your choice. Our drinks didn’t show up till about 7:20 and our salads after that…I’m betting you can guess the rest. Time started ticking down and still no meals so we stopped the waitress and asked her to please bring the bill and togo boxes with our dinners cause we knew we were not going to be able to finish. More time passed, no meals. We stopped her again and ask her to bring the check and just box up our dinners please. My wife and I sat in the restaurant till 7:55 (we were supposed to arrive early because there was no assigned seating) then she left me in the restaurant to collect our meals and pay. As she was standing in line talking to the people in front of her she found out that they too did not get dinner and they had arrived at 6. Out of nowhere the waitress runs up to her with our boxed dinners instead of giving them to me that was still waiting on them in the restaurant!! This could have been over looked and chalked up to them not being prepared with bridge day and a show going on but what really got us was my $28.00 meal pictured. You couldn’t get a few pieces of pork and gnocchi (and I do mean a FEW) and 4 pieces of asparagus out in an hour?!? This was the saddest excuse for a restaurant and a meal I think I have ever seen…so disappointed. 😔 As far as the show, it was great!! The actors were fantastic and the drinks were good. We would definitely repeat. 👏🏻 The only complaint we had is that we would have preferred to be seated at tables to have somewhere to set our drinks instead of rows of chairs. A table, I feel, would have lent itself to the speakeasy theme. 💁🏻‍♀️

The New River Gorge Bridge is an iconic steel arch bridge, one of the longest and highest in the world, spanning the picturesque New River Gorge. Located near Fayetteville, this area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts with activities like whitewater rafting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. The bridge offers breathtaking views and features an educational visitor's center and a charming gift store.
The New River Gorge Bridge is simply breathtaking and well worth the stop. Starting from the visitor center, we took the drive down below the bridge and it gave us a whole new perspective on just how massive and impressive the structure really is. The views from both the top and the bottom are incredible, and the drive itself is an experience—winding roads, river views, and plenty of photo opportunities. Pairing the visitor center exhibits with the bridge drive made the visit even more rewarding and gave us a deeper appreciation of this iconic landmark.

Wonderful ride through the gorge. Well worth the 45 minutes that I cludes a few stops to grap pictures. Scan the QR code to listen to the audio file of history as you take the ride through beauty and history. The rangers at the welcome center was awesome!

We came for bridge day and it was spectacular! They close the bridge and catapult adventurous spirits straight into the New River below. Over 300 base jumpers from all over the world put on their packs and parachute down. It’s a sight to see! Lots of great vendors, food and events at during that weekend. We attended the taste of bridge day the evening before at the adventures on the gorge and it was awesome!
LORI D — Google review
One of the most iconic views in West Virginia. Seeing the bridge in person is completely different from photos, it stretches across the gorge like it’s floating, and the scale doesn’t fully hit you until you’re standing at the overlook looking out across miles of mountains. The bridge itself is one of the longest single-arch steel bridges in the world and also one of the highest in the U.S. It sits almost 900 feet above the river. The engineering alone is impressive, but the landscape around it is what really makes it special. The mountains roll in layers, and in the fall the colors are stunning reds, oranges, golds, and deep greens all stacked into the valley. There are several great viewing spots, but the Canyon Rim Visitor Center overlook and Long Point Overlook give the best angles. Long Point especially feels unreal, you’re right across from the bridge, eye-level with it. If you visit in October during Bridge Day, people BASE jump and rappel directly off the bridge, it turns into a full festival. Whether you’re hiking, just passing through, or stopping for photos, the New River Gorge Bridge is a must-see. Beautiful, massive, peaceful, and unforgettable.

Amazing place to visit. If you love history and nature at the same time, one of the best place to see in USA 🇺🇸❤️. 🏞️📍SUMMER 2024 The completion of the New River Gorge Bridge on October 22, 1977 solved a travel challenge. The bridge turned a 40-minute drive into less than a minute. It removed the need to navigate down narrow mountain roads across an ancient river. When it comes to road construction, mountains do pose a challenge. At New River Gorge, the challenge transformed into a work of structural art. The New River Gorge Bridge is the longest steel span in the western hemisphere. It is also the third highest bridge in the United States. The New River Gorge Bridge is one of the most photographed places in West Virginia. In 2006, the U.S. Mint chose the bridge to represent West Virginia on the state commemorative quarter. In 2013, the National Park Service listed the New River Gorge Bridge in the National Register of Historic Places. This listing signifies the importance of the bridge as a historic resource.

Beautiful fall colors and bridge view was outstanding! We were there on a Thursday before Bridge day on Saturday. Board walk was easy accessible from Visitors Center. Steps are 175 if you decide to walk all the way to the bottom. We only went about half way and did fine with an amazing view anyway. You can also drive around to the bottom
Melissa K — Google review
Went mid October 2025. This was a nice stop, a full service welcome center with bathrooms. It was very clean. However, it was also very crowded at this location, even after the welcome center closed. The bathrooms are locked inside the welcome center, making it impossible to go after 5pm. It is a short walk to the view of the bridge then some steps down to see a better view. Maybe a 5-10 minute stop total. This place is partly dog friendly. You can bring your dog to see the bridge. But for bridge day dogs are not welcome. Which is wild and quite frankly very sad considering it is quite literally an outdoor event. That made us disappointed and we did not go to bride day because of that. I would go back to see the view if I was in the area. No hiking or anything else exciting around there. But stunning views it was my second time here.
Rachel I — Google review
An iconic piece of architecture and featured on the West Virginia version of the state series quarters, this is the third tallest bridge in the US. While you can't really appreciate its height from the 4-lane highway that crosses it due to the high concrete barriers, seeing it from the Canyon Rim Visitor Center or from down below it is pretty impressive. Worth your time to visit, as the area is beautiful, especially during Fall like it was when we were there over the last week.

There are two beautiful things here: the main creek (wide and making its way noisily around the rocks) and a smaller waterfall that splashes you with cold mist and droplets. My pictures are of the second. From the parking area, it's a wide, flat path to a bridge and then a short way uphill to the splashy area. (FWIW, we went the morning after a rainstorm.)

We called last minute for a same day booking and they took great care of us. My husband, 7 year old son and I had the best trip with them. Shannon’s son was soooo great with my son and they made it an amazing day. They knew exactly the best spots and the coolest experiences at Kanawha Falls. Also took tons of photos for us. Highly recommend and will DEFINITELY use them again!

Our annual lake day at Summersville is something our whole crew looks forward to, and Shannon at Mountain Surf Paddle Sports delivered in spades! The 25’ jet boat was fast, fun, in exceptional condition, and stocked with a full complement of toys including wakeboards and tubes. We spent the day laughing on the water, from tubing adventures that had us holding on for dear life on hair-whipping rides across the lake to fun (and funny), but failed wakeboarding endeavors. Shannon was even patient and kind with our dog who was a little high strung having is first boating experience. Shannon made the whole process seamless and gave us everything we needed for a perfect day. We’ll definitely be booking again and recommending Mountain Surf Paddle Sports to anyone looking for the best day on Summersville Lake!

I’m not recommending making his job difficult by booking last minute, but the point is that they were exceptionally accommodating and flexible to meet our needs. We had.a great guide who made us feel completely comfortable and taught us stuff about paddle boarding and the area along the way. I 💯 recommend booking through Mountain Surf Paddle Sports for your next adventure. Customer service and tour was personalized and top notch.

We had an absolutely unforgettable experience paddleboarding around Kanawha Falls with Mountain Surf! I took my two kids on a two-hour guided SUP tour, and it was the perfect day from start to finish. Our guide, Shannon, was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive to both safety and fun. The scenery was stunning, the pace was just right for all experience levels, and Shannon made us feel completely at ease the entire time. His knowledge of the river and the local ecosystem added a really special touch to the experience. This was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation—exactly what we were hoping for. If you’re looking for a safe, scenic, and memorable outdoor activity around Fayette County, I can’t recommend Mountain Surf highly enough. We’ll definitely be back!

They are constantly bringing in cutting edge artists to Fayetteville, raising the bar for what's possible for a local arts center: a vibrant cultural hub supported by down to earth people. Love Hope is part of what makes Fayetteville such a hidden gem & lovely place to experience not only nature & recreation, but arts and culture as well

Excellent experience! We will be back and am taking a class here after Christmas! So excited! One of the best places in Fayetteville in my opinion. The people, artwork and you too can create! Triple win!

I love this place, great display of local art

This art gallery just outside of town was the center of Fayetteville for its recent art festival. The crowds truly supported our local artists. Definitely a must visit place if you are traveling thru.

If you have an affinity for the weird like I do you should check this place out! Very cool local art and friendly staff. It took me 15 minutes to look around.

Sandwich shop
Nestled in a rustic-style tavern, Secret Sandwich Society is a gem that offers an array of creative sandwiches, along with soup, salad, beer, cider and live music. Founded by local restaurant experts Tashia and David Bailey and now owned by Lewis Rhinehart, this eatery has expanded its menu to include burgers and delectable soups sourced from a bakery in Lewisburg. The thoughtfully crafted sandwiches are named after various presidents and are a must-try.
Definitely a place to try when in Fayetteville! They have a lot of fun sandwiches on the menu. It was hard to choose which one to get. I ended up getting the Rose Marie and it was delicious. Lots of meat! The potato chips were super crunchy and good. Everyone at my table was happy with their meal.
Sarah W — Google review
We feel like this meal had good potential and would visit again, but they didn't nail it. My sandwich was very good, but kind of dry, either the eggplant needed to be more tender or it needed more marinara. It was just too crunchy and dry but had good flavor. Our other sandwich was just a subpar pork sandwich with the pork masking any other flavors. With a slightly different order it might have been great. The atmosphere was fun and we didn't need to wait at all to sit at the bar.

My wife and I visited the Secret Sandwich Society for lunch today. The atmosphere was pleasant, it was not loud, and the outside seating was great. The service was slow and my wife never had her drink refilled. My wife had the Rose Marie and thought the meat was a little dry but the overall flavor was good. I had the Kennedy and thought the overall taste was good. However, the mustard and mayonnaise was too much and running out the sides of the sandwich. The fries had a good taste. The pickles were horrible with a strong vinegar taste making them inedible.

Delicious sandwiches, and good beers on tap. Our party of four waited 45 minutes to be seated, after reserving our table from the a host who remained seated, while resting his head on the countertop. In the meantime, staff encouraged us to wait in a covered area with tables and chairs, order drinks from the bar, and showed us where the restrooms were. We were seated in a back room where it was rather loud, but we could still talk and hear each other. We had ample time to review the menu so we ordered promptly upon being seated. Our waitress was very kind and pleasant, and was able to answer our questions about the menu. Food was slow to arrive, and drink refills took some time but they were very busy this Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed the Roosevelt sandwich; the added grilled mushrooms were excellent. (Photo included) My husband ordered the Eisenhower; the cherry peppers were very spicy but he still liked his sandwich. He did enjoy the French fries, and Heinz ketchup. The included chips tasted a little burned, and did not have a lot of flavor. Although the menu stated pickles were included, we were not served nor offered any pickles.

I came in really excited after seeing all the great reviews. The atmosphere was excellent and the staff were fantastic! I was greeted right away, checked on during the meal, and felt well looked after. The beer was also spot on. Unfortunately, the sandwich itself was disappointing. I was recommended their new pork sandwich, the Grazia. On paper, it sounded perfect for me, everything I usually enjoy. But it turned out to be pretty bland and honestly quite mediocre, especially given how much this place is known for its sandwiches. It might just have been that particular choice, but it left me a bit underwhelmed considering the hype. That said, the experience overall was still pleasant. If you’re visiting, I’d still suggest checking it out - just maybe manage expectations, and perhaps try one of their more established menu items instead of a newer special.

Stay in line, the food is absolutely worth the wait! It’s no secret that the Secret Sandwich Society is one of the best restaurants in Fayetteville, WV. We stopped by after a long day of hiking, and enjoying the National Parks. Great atmosphere, excellent food, and kind service. Everyone seems happy to be here, and it shows! Will definitely be visiting again next year!

Truly two of the best sandwiches I think we've ever had! The beer list was amazing and the place itself is super cool and trendy. We were there the weekend of Bridge Day and while they were jammed, the staff was friendly and everyone was very nice. Definitely will be back again next year, if not sooner!

We were starving and this place came well regarded with a recommendation for the pimento fries. Those were delicious! Unfortunately, have you ever been somewhere where the floors are so sticky that it's your main impression of the place? That and the dirty menus were just not a great feeling. Again, the pimento fries were great. Our server was nice. Unfortunately, I became quite ill while eating my beyond burger, which I'm not sure but may have been due to a shared grill space with meat? Another member of my party asked for a burger on the pinker side of medium rare and received well done. The other meals were great! The menu is great, I like the idea. I hope maybe we can return on another trip and have a better experience. Honestly most of my review is just to stare about the sticky floor. Ah!

Cafe
Cathedral Cafe, a beloved community spot in Fayetteville since 2000, is housed in a charming old stone church adorned with book-lined walls. This artsy and relaxed hangout offers an extensive menu featuring organic, fair-trade coffee beverages and a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. From breakfast frittatas to paninis and house-made soups, the cafe's specialties cater to diverse tastes.
Came here a couple times and both times it was great! The atmosphere is amazing with the early morning sun coming through the stained glass windows. Super friendly service. Their pancakes are super tasty and their hot apple cider on a chilly morning was delicious. Loved it!

Quaint kitschy restaurant in an old church. My Smoked Salmon Bagel was amazing! I paired it with a Gin Blossom cocktail witch was refreshing and not too sweet. The grandkids loved their pancakes. My daughter said that "The Wendy" was good and my husband said his omelet was just "fine" but he really enjoyed his Bourbon Blackberry iced tea

stopped at Cathedral Cafe during a visit to Fayetteville. got a seasonal iced blueberry pancake latte and an iced sweet tea with peach syrup. the peach tea was so good! the upstairs gift area and downstairs cafe atmosphere is so nice. I’d definitely be a regular here if I lived in town! I recommend stopping here for a quick drink or visit if you’re in the area.

AWESOME! 😎 Loved everything about Cathedral Cafe. We were told their mixed berry cobbler was famous and it was delicious with lots of mixed berries and not overly sweet so you tasted the berries and creamy vanilla of the ice cream. The Teriyaki Chicken and Cashew Salad was delicious as well as beautifully presented. The homemade vinaigrette dressing was out of this world. I had the blackberry iced latte and my husband the blackberry iced tea and both were delicious and not overly sweet, just the way we like things. The service was spot on! Everyone was so nice 😊! Would give them 10 stars if I could .

Neat little cafe in Fayetteville. If in the area, definitely worth the stop. We ate lunch here on our trip from FL to PA. Food was good. Would definitely eat there again.

So cute! I made the mistake of ordering a chai latte with espresso and it somehow was very watery. My partner's latte was great. It was quite crowded, but I appreciated all the gifts and the accepting atmosphere. I'll get a normal latte next time :)

The food was absolutely delicious! I wish I would have known that I paid $2 for avocado that they didn't give me on the side. Their order & pickup system is strange, but I guess it works for them. Parking is a challenge, especially on weekends in the summer.

Had breakfast/brunch on a Saturday, party of 5, wait time was 30 minutes. The menu selection is good, with a broad variety of choices. You self place your order at the counter, and food is brought to your table. I ordered the omelette, it was good but a little dry, and just ok. The bagel with salmon was very tasty. I also enjoyed a blackberry bourbon ice tea, refreshing and tasty.

A bit of a last minute regroup to find a great place to eat for an early birthday dinner. VERY GLAD of my "throw a dart" choice!! Our waitress was AWESOME! She was polite and very friendly and perfect wait staff rhythm. The food came out quick and was DELICIOUS. I had the ribs and the bones literally just fell out. Really nice place with great food. A +
Joe P — Google review
We had dinner at Firecreek BBQ and Steaks and unfortunately, it was a major letdown. To be fair, the server did apologize upfront, letting us know there were only two people working the floor and she’d do her best. Once we placed our order, she was attentive—but that’s where the positives ended. The drinks and food were truly disappointing. The margarita tasted more like a sugary kids’ juice with zero hint of tequila. As for the food, if you’re used to real BBQ from North Carolina or Texas, this place is miles off the mark. The meat was bland and served in a wet, flavorless slop. The mac and cheese looked and tasted like it had been sitting—skinned over and barely warm. The fries and baked potato were just as uninspired: plain, underseasoned, and lacking any real flavor. We spent $85 on this meal and walked away feeling like it was a complete waste of money. If you do decide to try it, keep your expectations low. Definitely not a spot I’d return to or recommend.

We get there around 3PM, before the start of rush hour for dinner, so the place was quiet and were able to eat calmly, but based on its sizes it get crowded and noisy. The food was unbelivable tasty and in good portions: we had a sirloin and a ribeye, both medium and both very good cooked. The staff was very friendly and polite. Enjoy!

The ribs were the worst we ever had. the pulled pork on the sandwich was good, but the bun was dry .. As for the ribs.. the were dry, kinda like they had been sitting around for a while, asked for a side of sauce .. which she did not say there was a charge for, should have come with the ribs since there was no sauce on them to begin with. Tried with the sauce, and it wasn't any better. Told the waitress the issue, she went to talk to the manager and came back saying 'well since you've already eaten half, sorry but can't do anything' NO ... 1 bone was eaten and another 2 were pulled apart to see if the inner ones were just as dry and they were .... Back to goes to the manager, comes back out and takes the plate back to the manager. Comes back again and says.. Well I can take off the meal and then just charge you for the 2 sides .. OK fine... But whoever that manager was that was on duty on Saturday April 26th at 7pm - has got to go! Can't even come out and talk to the customer, sends the waitress out 3x ... That manager was just being plain lazy ... If only that manager would have come out and done their job.... I felt like this was some sort of argument over 1 meal via playing 'telephone' with the poor waitress .... just maybe I would not be leaving this review. The Pineapple Cake drink was yummy .. so that was a plus....

So, The steak was awesome! No A1 needed and thats saying alot for an A1 lover. Hubs got the Wings while I got Mozz Sticks for our apps and boy were they both delicious! For our actual dinner he got the Ribeye, Salad, Baked Potato. I got a 10oz Sirloin, and Baked Potato. It was all delicious! The atmosphere was fun and inviting but also wasn't so raucous that we couldn't enjoy a convo! The prices are a bit steep, our price tag was right at south of $90 for the 2 of us. But, if you're willing to spend, it's worth it.
Steph M — Google review
I was looking forward to have some good BBQ. I'll start by saying the ranch dressing was good, the wings were good and the onion petals were not bad. The nachos were microwaved, the cheese was so hard on them, I wish the cheese was not hardened on them so you can actually dip the nachos in it. The ribs were very tender but the sauce was bad, it was some sort of tomato sauce/ paste , very dissapointed. Neither one of us were able to get past the first bite. They probably had the same to.ato paste mixed with the pulled pork and throw pulled beef platter. All the food was left untouched
Ramona B — Google review
We ate here last night at the recommendation of a staff member at our hotel. The food was good. The wings are awesome! We had the burger and the pulled beef for dinner. Both were good. I would put a different sauce on the beef. It wasn't my favorite, but I liked it and took my leftovers home and ate them for lunch today. The peanut butter pie was phenomenal! We went white water rafting today and I really wanted to go back and get some pie to take home. The service was fantastic! Our server was friendly and helpful. He knew the menu and was able to make recommendations. The restaurant has outside dining, which was nice. The weather was beautiful and we were able to enjoy it while having dinner. I would recommend trying this restaurant and I highly recommend the wings, ranch dressing and the peanut butter pie!!!

We ate here on a Sunday for lunch. No one was there when we got there and we couldn't smell any food being cooked. I was worried Sunday was left over day... and it was. The food tasted off and I let my hubby eat most of the combo plate we shared. I don't eat left overs and my stomach doesn't do well with old food. We were both throwing up all evening. Service was friendly. The salad was fresh and delicious with what I'm sure was home made ranch.
